My siblings and I were very lucky to find this restarurant on a very busy Saturday, without a reservation and every other place packed. We waited a little bit to be seated and were very pleased with the service, the quality of the food and the atmosphere. We were seated in a lovely cozy corner and had the greatest time while eating delicious food and drank an amazing red wine.

We had a wonderful dinner. Went for a quick dish and the place didn’t disappoint. All the dishes we got were really good and the service was amazing. The steak is one of the best one we’ve gotten in the region. Oxtail was super tender and the squid really tasty. Would recommend and come again. Just a little pricy in our opinion but again the food was really astonishing.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant in Pamplona. The waiters were extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the start. Our first night at Pamplona, decided to have dinner at La Olla! We were very impressed! At a restaurant when you get great food, great service and wonderful atmosphere with all attention from everyone works there then you’re at the right place! Food was over the top yummy and our server ( Vera ) was amazing! The manager kept on checking on us and other tables!

Great attention to detail, flawless service. The kitchen is open all day — a bonus for those of you who like to dine early.

Found this one of the only places open on a Monday. Staff very friendly however seems that we were taken advantage of due to our lack of Spanish. Waiter took our orders for our group of 3, starters and mains. When the food came he had ordered each of the starters for 3 people and one he changed from a starter portion to a main course portion at over 3x the price. Meaning for three people we had a total of 6 X starters plus a main meal followed by 3 X main courses. Ridiculous! Food was well presented and tasted good.

Exceptional!!!!!! Absolutely a MUST GO!!!

We discovered this place on YouTube and we could say this was probably the most crowded place among any other similar places. On our first try, we skipped and left because it was impossible to order anything due to the crowd. On another day around 5 PM, it was much easier to order something with some patience and 10minutes waiting time. We enjoyed the food but found nothing really special about this place, I think you can find similar or maybe even better food, around the area, so don’t limit yourself to this place or don’t consider this bar as a “must to come and eat” in San Sebastián, explore other places. If you have reading this far then let me tell you that I have been joking to deviate you from here to another bar so that we could enjoy some less crowd at this place to be honest this place has very tasty ones and the bread is the best, the meat is great and calamari was so tasty!! Visit this place but be mindful of people trying to order also so make some space for everyone 🤞

Flight your way to the bar and you're guaranteed some terrific bites. The attentive, multitasking staff behind the counter hustles to bring out highlights including the mini hamburger, crab-stuffed crepe, and bacon-wrapped chorizo. Loved the it

I love this place. Some of the best bites of the year here. Highly recommend the pictured pork sandwich, insane flavor. But the real star is the foie gras, one of the best bites of food I’ve ever had in my entire life. The vermut was also really special and the waiters are incredible. Quite cheap too for what you get, 4 dishes and a drink for around €20

Best foie gras in town - we went back twice. The sea urchin soup was very creamy and smooth. Overall the best pintxos we’ve had but expect the over crowd and everyone yelling in your ear.

Very good tapas - very delicious sea urchin soup, as well as baby squid stuffed with crab. The foie gras on toast had a generous portion of foie. Still my favorite pinxto bar.

Hectic but very good experience. Sea urchin, crab and squid were sensational. Foie and croquettes also very good. Good service, have to be confident when ordering!

Life changing experience. Foie gras was very succulent and not gamey at all. The crepe was very generously filled with crabmeat. Sea urchin cream was super luxurious and again, not too heavy on the taste buds. Go as early as you can to avoid the crowd. Do note that it's completely self service so you can manage your own expectations! We had a bit of a culture shock there 😅

Of all the pintxos places we have been to in our 3 trips to San Sebastián over the last 6 years, this place stands out the most for us. Most of the food are prepared very well, even those that are in other bar menus. This is the place to go for your Foie gras, Pulpo, Navajas. Their pig’s ears dish is worth going back for. They ran out of cochinillo when we had a late lunch yesterday. We’ll just have to go back!

One the best meals we had in town. The execution of all the dishes was exceptional, and every ingredient was both treated with consummate skill and elevated by additional flavours. The presentation was also gorgeous, as it's clear from the photos. Unmissable, make sure you go for the piglet and the cheeks if you can only fit two items.

Our last meal in San Sebastian and we decided to go with this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Pulpo Gallego - after eating so many boiled octopus, was really nice to have a change for a grilled one. It was very well seasoned and smoky! €15 for the portion we had was a steal! Suckling pig - well prepared. Crispy skin and the meat was juicy. Seasoning was spot on too. Entrecotte steak - done medium and have a good smoky taste however I think they were too heavy on the salt so we had to scrape some off. Otherwise its quite nice Risotto - 9/10. Nothing to add. Please order this. Haha...

Go for the cheeks! Both of the cheeks and split it up between beef cheeks and cod cheeks. The octopus is very tasty. Suckling pig is good and razor clams slightly sandy. Table service is fantastic - Jessica made great wine recommendations and was super nice.

5 Stars – Delicious, Lively, and Flexible This place is small and always buzzing with energy — we came around lunchtime and waited about 20 minutes outside before getting to the bar to order. Honestly, just a few days ago I would have felt uncomfortable eating while standing on the street, ordering at a crowded bar. But in San Sebastián, it all just feels right. The food at La Cuchara de San Telmo is absolutely delicious, well-priced, and served quickly. One thing I really appreciated is the flexibility in portion sizes — you can choose smaller portions if you’re just a couple of people, or order larger ones for sharing with a group. It makes trying more dishes much easier and less wasteful. It’s also fun to see what others are eating. When something looks amazing next to you (and it often does), it’s easy to go back to the bar and order more — which we happily did! Fast, flavorful, and full of character — this was one of our most enjoyable meals in San Sebastián.

Food was amazing we went twice in one trip! We went shoulder season in October (two of us) and started to line up 6:30pm for dinner service. Key detail they dont tell you - Line up outside the door if you want the inside table and want to order pincho size (and 1/2 and full portions). Sit at the tables if you want to order 1/2 and full portions, they dont serve pinchos outside. Staff were super friendly as we talked our broken Spanish English to them and they could see we tried. Would highly recco this place! Would not recco if you get sound and sensory overload!

Best restaurant in San Sebastián! Our favourite of the many tried. Shared their octopus which was cooked in bacon fat and their razor clams. Despite being already full it was obviously excellent technical cooking and fresh seafood. This was more expensive than other pintxos places we went to though, about eur 33 in total however the menu was more innovative.

This was a great experience. Located right at the center of Plaza Castillo in Pamplona, café Iruña will attend to your cravings for traditional hearty food, with a five star service and a dazzling atmosphere. Everything was great, from the entrée to the dessert, passing by the fish, meat and salads. Price is fair, it's not so busy at lunch, but for dinner better make a reservation (or just come early, Spaniards like to have dinner after 9). A must go if you're ever by Navarres capital.

A stunning original cafe where Hemingway was a patron. The rich interior is enchanting and the mirrored wall reflect the lights and decor of the large space. We were a large group having sangria and pinchos so the service was fast and not individualized but that was ok. The pinchos were delicious.

One of the oldest coffee shops in Spain. I was looking for the perfect Spanish Con Leche, then they gave me the most understated one. A stunning original cafe where Hemingway was a patron. I can smell the history here.

Sangria is good, but service is pretty bad. We got some food and were not able to take a table inside. The waiters insisted that the children eat from plates while standing, despite the fact that only a few tables out of 30 was occupied outside. The bread on the pintxos is very dry.

Nice surprise. This is a café to remember. I liked the well-maintained historical interior. I enjoyed coffe and rum. The staff was very nice.

Iruña is the Basque word for Pamplona. historical café associated to Hemingway s presence in Pamplona. I stopped for a coffe and dessert, the service was friendly, but it can take some time due to the high traffic

Absolutely blown away — this place was incredible. I went right at opening time, and it was already full. The menu, the quality, the service, the value — everything was perfect. I couldn’t resist going back again in the evening, and the atmosphere was even more amazing. People were happily spilling out onto the street — the place was full of life. What surprised me most was that the same staff who were serving at full speed in the morning were still working just as energetically at night. Their dedication and consistency were truly impressive. This is the kind of restaurant I’d want to visit every single time. A true gem.

This was my first stop in San Sebastián and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was super crowded and service is crazy hectic. But everything we ordered was incredible. The cod pil pil, entrecôte, risotto. Went back to try the kebab pork ribs as they were sold out that evening and it was delicious as well. Definitely a place to stop by. It was less crowded when we went back for lunch.

Authentic pinxtos bar, with an incredible atmosphere. The dishes were delicious, would recommend the Costilla de Cerdo. Always full to the point of splling into the street - wrestle your way to the bar, order and then find a place to eat. Many people grab a dish and opt to stand and eat in the street. Quite loud and intense inside but that somewhat adds to the experience. Drinks were great, try the local cider. We had several dishes and a drink each (2 people) and that came to around €25

🌟 Overall: 8/10 Tried: White ravioli – 8/10: Very good flavour, will recommend this dish. Veal – 7/10: Good but nothing special, feels like a nice dish but doesn’t wow me. Pig ear – 8/10: Lovely done! I can go back to eat this again.

After a successful visit yesterday, today trying the Cod Pil Pil the fish was raw and inedible, and the beef entrecot was so blue and raw it was also inedible. Super dissapointing and I wonder if the chef changed as yesterday the pork ribs, and the veal cheek were both really nice. But any place this inconsistent and serves raw food should be avoided.

Food was unbelievable here. Pork rib was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It’s super busy but you’ll eventually get served - you just need to be confident. Get a few things to try & ask for recommendations. Seriously good food and atmosphere.

All 3 items we ordered which was the risotto, the beef cheeks and ribs were really good! While the food was good, staffs weren't that friendly.

Cheesecake cheesecake and more cheesecake. The most famous place for cheesecake in the region. Is it the best one? You'd have to go to the other places that some locals say are also good or better, but it's certainly a fantastic cheesecake, and the best one I had. Basque style.

The line is crazy but you should just get it and order quickly. Honestly, I expected more from this place but it was pretty mid, extremely overpacked and loud. The basque cheesecake we came for was €6,50 for the portion which they split into two slices for better taste I guess was really good (but we expected something much more delicious for the price and hype this place has). When you take it to go they just give prepacked box with cheesecake inside, maybe this affected somehow

Great cheesecake! Place is packed pretty much every night we passed by it though you can share a table with other people. Easier to get seats if you’re not a big group.

The line was pretty short on a Wednesday afternoon. We ordered their famous Basque cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious. It is lighter and creamier than I've ever had and less sweet. My only regret was getting only one slice per person!

Incredible. We were only going to have the cheesecake as we heard this was the top place to go. But we couldn’t resist the other dishes too. The gentleman who served us was so friendly and always smiling. We had the meatball, stuffed mussels, plate of jamón and chorizo. Everything was exceptional.

I came a little earlier so missed the big rush, but it was still busy. Good part is I didn’t have to wait in line, only a few minutes at the counter. After trying it I get what the hype is all about. Best description I give is that it was very flavorful, creamy, and the most delectable cheesecake I’ve had. I would say it was a cheesecake with a consistency and texture of flan. Compared to the amount of business they get it’s quite small inside so seating can be difficult. Going early, helped as I was able to secure a place to sit and enjoy my cheesecake.

La Vina lived up to expectations! Have been wanting to come here my whole life and the standards were high. Was definitely not disappointed because I came back four days straight for my whole time in San Sebastián!! The cheesecake is pretty much fresh everytime you visit because it’s best sold within 36 hours but I’m sure they sell out faster than that! You get two slices per order so you can eat in smaller portions and enjoy the taste of the cheese rather than swallowing larger portions. The outer layer is only slightly denser than the creamy middle. It melts in your mouth and is just pure perfection. Highly recommend!!

There are plenty of places serving Txuleton in San Sebastián. But none is better than Bar Nestor in my opinion. The simplicity of what they do shows the confidence in the product. Get in the queue early before opening if you want the tortilla. Or if you want to eat here at all to be fair! The tiny restaurant is fully reserved well before the shutter raises to let people in. The tortilla is superb but the reason to come is the beef. You’re given the choice of two steaks. One rib, the other sirloin. They serve 2 and are around a kilo. Once ordered, it’s weighed and cooked. Whilst you wait, a simple salad of tomatoes with olive oil and salt as well as padron peppers are brought to you. And then the meat arrives. This is quite simply the best steak I have ever tasted anywhere in the world. It is sublime. An incredible depth of flavour with the perfect cuisson of caramelisation. There is a very very good wine list with some of the best Riojas and wines from ribero on there. They’re incredibly well priced. Having been here 4 times, I will always be a devotee of this absolute highlight of any food trip to San Sebastián

More of an experience than just a meal. We got in line at 5:30 p.m., with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. We were fortunate enough to secure a spot at a table for later that night at 9:15 p.m. We could have eaten earlier, but we'd have had to stand at the bar. We weren't early enough in the queue to secure some of the famous tortilla. While in the queue, you overhear snippets of conversation: nervous excitement, "Have we gotten here early enough?" "Will there be any tortilla left?" "Can steak really be worth queuing this much?!" When you arrive at your allocated time to worship at this temple to beef, you're first greeted by a golden light spilling onto the street, a heavenly aroma of roasting meat, and the clatter and buzz of a busy restaurant. The waiting staff are busy delivering sizzling platters of meat, juicy tomatoes, and glistening padron peppers, but you're greeted with a smile and a nod—you are one of the lucky few. There is no menu. You either say yes or no. But who would say no? The only choice you have is which of the two steaks you're offered is the one for you. The steak is a Txuleta (pronounced chuleta), the cut of beef for the region. It's a bone-in sirloin steak of epic proportions—easily enough for two. You don't wait long before the food starts arriving. First, the tomatoes with olive oil, then a plate of padron peppers, piping hot and delicious. Finally, the steak arrives, cooked fast and hot on a cast iron plate, spitting droplets of fat to forewarn of its arrival. It's presented sliced with the bone, seasoned liberally with sea salt, showing off its rare-ness for all to see. If rare steak isn't your thing, don't worry—you can spread the steak out on the iron plate, and the considerable residual heat will soon finish cooking the meat. But for us, it was perfectly cooked and delicious. In a world where expensive food can be overthought and too complex, this is food stripped back to its basic principles: the best ingredients, cooked well. Simple, but not lesser for that simplicity. As you eat, people come and go—the unfortunate ones who get turned away, the unprepared who didn't queue but get pulled in off the street by Bar Nestor's beefy gravitational pull. The whole process, from the nervous queue to the last morsel, combines to satisfy both soul and stomach. Go and worship the beef—you won’t regret it.

Definitely worth queuing! Best steak so far. And yes, the staff should explain the house rules, they’re not rude if you just walk in hoping to be seated. The only disadvantage is that they don’t have desserts 😁

Luckiest ever to get counter seats by walking in 10 mins before they opened for lunch. Fantastic food - the tomatoes and steak will be a forever memory. Service was friendly and attentive (was given a stool to kneel on because I was too short for the bar 🥺)

Our best experience in San Sebastián. We started queuing from 10.40am and were second in the queue, we booked the tortilla and steak, and then went back at 12.45am for it. The food was incredible and the whole setting was very sociable. Even the side dishes - tomato salad and padron peppers - were a highlight of our trip. A must do experience!

Lined up at 11:10am and there was already a queue. Hatch opens 11:30am. You put your name down and order, there’s only 2 things - steak with tomatoes and padron peppers and pinxto size tortilla. We were told to come back at 12:45pm. Lively atmosphere and not too chaotic. We ordered all the food options and had 3 glasses of txocholi which came to about £75 for 2 people. Steak was rare when it came out on the sizzling plate, which we proceeded to “cook” ourselves to make it more medium!

Incredible experience. The food really does justify the wait. In peak season, for the 12 o'clock serving, arrive at 11 to get your name on the list. Be prepared to queue. The tortilla only has 16 portions but it's worth it. Again for the 7pm serving, arrive at 6 and take a drink from the bar opposite (makes the wait easier) Don't miss out on the steak either! Cooked to perfection 👌 The staff couldn't be more friendly, this place really does live up to the hype

Staff were attentive to all their customers. A great atmosphere. The ponchos were all so tasty! One of the best Aperol Spritz I have had in a very long time.

The bar was super-busy when we arrived but the restaurant in the back was almost empty. It did fill up later, improving the ambiance. I enjoyed my polpo and dessert, my friend found her dish too heavy in sauce. Very friendly waiter and excellent wine.

Great bar for a drink and some beautiful pintxos. Service was excellent and we loved their txistorra (Basque chorizo) and the smoked cod. Highly recommended to include in your pintxos crawl of Pamplona.

Lovely place, you need to book a table, or need be there for the opening (20:00) otherwise you need to wait, but worth every penny.

Absolutely amazing food with a friendly atmosphere and great service! All allergens are marked on the menu, including gluten, lactose, soya, etc. I mentioned that gluten was extra important for me and the waiter immediately took careful note of this and let the kitchen know. We ordered a starter and a main course each, and were advised that that was too much food. Very honest of them, and they were definitely right as the portions are generous! The food was truly amazing and we very much enjoyed our evening.

I would rate 4 stars on food and 3 on service.  It seems that they change the menu weekly, since some last week  Instagram  post showing some dishes were not available.  One example of why I rate it 3 stars on service is that I asked for a Tuna Tataki, the waiter mention that they ran out of it and quickly continue with the next table.  He did not suggest any other option, nor give me time to ask.  A few minutes later  I called him to ask for other options as Tuna Tartare, which they had.

First of all the atmosphere is very nice it is a modern looking restaurant. Prices I would say a bit higher than moderate but the price quality racio is very good. Food is very delicious and quality. Evening menu is 36 euros including bread, wine and coffee. We went on with the Carta. Tuna tataki, carpaccio and Vietnamese spring roles was very delicious. And as dessert tiramisu which was quite good and abtype of cak other coconut ice cream. All recommended. Together with beer and water it is 64 euors.

WAUW!!! What an amazing place! We orders two day menus for only 30 euros per person!! Which included a bottle of water and a glas of wine. The food was of really good quality and the waiters where very professional and kind.

Great place to eat. Very good quality and a great wine list. I ordered ‘fideuá’ and I loved it. We taste the white wine Orchidea and it was an excellent choice. The restaurant is quiet and very relaxed atmosphere.

Sad experience. The manger refused to serve us a plate of olives saying only available at the bar and not in the restaurant. Crazy. Not cheap.

Really dreadful experience due to the very rude staff. There was some booking mixup due to their system which wasn't an issue as they weren't full but before we'd even been sat or welcomed pleasantly we were berated for 10mins by the maitre d due to his booking system :( The service went downhill from there with no menu help, a plain bread roll served with no oil and when we asked about wine were told they had "rioja". I may not be a connoisseur but pretty sure there's more than 1! Mr Rude was supposed to bring a taster but of course that didn't happen and he was too much of a coward to even check how our meal was going. As you may tell an overall dreadful dining experience where we were made to feel very unwelcome - avoid if you're not a local.

Soulless, lifeless, and entirely forgettable. I can count the number of words the waiters used during our dinner, about 15. Overpriced and not pleasant. Would not recommend.

Friendly staff. We ordered their set menu. The menu is great for trying different type of local food. The menu comes with free flow of water and cider. The cider you have to collect yourself directly from the tap, which is quite fun. To make things easier I would wish that they had a menu in English, anyhow we managed with help from Google translate.

Classic old school restaurant. Good service and quality food. We had the daily menu of 22 euros. Fresh salad, a very tasty fish soup, cod done with garlic, breaded veal cutlet washed down with the decent house red. Desserts were inhouse tarts ( apple and a basque one whose name I forget) I love these old style timeless restaurants where you are treated with courtesy and profesionalism. No rush, lots of space between tables, the paintings and decorations of a bygone but quality age.

I would like to mention the service has been excellent and the waitress and chefs explained us all plates really well. In terms of food; until the desserts it was really good just one plate was not good for us. The desserts were a bit disappointing as they tasted too sweet and simple, all of them. The restaurant has a basic decoration and glasses and cutleries are clean and being changed every time. The overall price 211€ 2 people, from my view and the context of the restaurant plus location is a bit expensive. 90€ the menu. Less plates and less expensive will have a better quality vs value. One good point is that most of the plates are local ones. I hope desserts will be improved!

Nice presentation of every dish and the service was excellent. The restaurant has a warm and classy interior and I liked that many of the dishes were vegetarian. The price is great for such a high standard. I recommend this place.

Oh, not so good… premium wine pairing included 9 tastes (sips) of 9 lowest value National and International varieties. 3 of 6 matched or elevated the dishes. 12 is the date. The premier ingredient served was a Haake fish that the chef swore he paid 25€/kg… we were not impressed and with a diabetic partner, we cannot eat 5 of 14 dishes of dessert. We left after the Haake.

Amazing culinary experience in Pamplona. We had the “Metamorphosis experience”, where the mixture of flavours and exquisite wines are served with a personal touch from the owner Jaoine. Totally different and worth experience. They were grateful that we mentioned the dietary restrictions (gluten intolerance) and made the necessary adjustments to the menu

Beautifully presented dishes and homemade bread in the 60€, 9 plate menu (wine is separate, but tasty). The most flavorful main course was the costilla de cerdo and the mango ice cream was the best dessert. Everything looks incredible - they clearly put a lot of time into designing every plate, but the flavors weren't all as interesting as the looks. I'd give a 4.5/5 if it were an option, but a 4 is simply too low. Nevertheless, it was a lunch to remember :)

Incredible culinary experience at Kabo. Amazing display of talent and know-how in terms of customer service, attention to details and, most importantly, haute cuisine. Aaron and his team of expert chefs make the most creative dishes, based mainly on the use of vegetables, combining cooking techniques not usually applied to plant-based dishes. We asked to open the windows, but they had been disabled due to a rain storm earlier in the day which made the room stuffy

Bit of a weird spot on a industrial shopping area 10min walk out of town. But everything a basic hiker needs!

Good value for money in my opinion. It is a simple hostel so do not expect luxury. On the other hand the place is clean, hosts are very helpful and nice. It is just after Elizondo but it is not a huge effort to get there from the city. What I liked the most was that the place offered 4 persons room for a private usage just for 25 Euro (just 10 Euro more than a single place in a multipersons room). This was a perfect offer for me as I had to dry my clothes and tent after a rainy night in the mountains. The place also offers a bar where you can eat good food. For budget travelers there is a excellent grocery next doors. What I did not like was a ceiling window which could not be open during a rain. There were not many other options to get a fresh air. You should take it into consideration when making your decision on a hot day.

This hostel just outside the village was a good stay for my hiking trip. Friendly staff (but you need to speak a word of Spanish), enough place, rooms are okay and very good prices, both for the stay as for the menu in the restaurant.
