Love this place! Family friendly, Small little hole in the wall type place. A diner style type of breakfast. Usually a small lineup to get in, very centrally located, foods yummy and the price is great, and portions are decent. Definitely isn't anything fancy, but has been a staple in the neighbourhood for years and is well known to locals and many of the staff have been there for as long as I can remember. Inside definitely is a bit rundown and prob could use some updates, but that's part of its charm and also prob how they can afford to keep prices low. I do find their Vanilla milkshake has a great consistency, but lacks flavour/ is a bit bland. My son loved the Steak and eggs and I thoroughly enjoyed the Jack'd Breakfast poutine. I have also previously had their French Toast and Eggs Benedict which I also enjoy.

First time at Ardmore and it was exactly as advertised! Wonderful diner-style breakfast & brunch! Our server Kelly was excellent, very friendly, and efficient! Our food was great, and the milkshake was phenomenal! The wait was a bit long to get a table, but I was glad I tried it! Would definitely return

Cute spot! Prices are incredible. I had the veggie poutine and it was ok. The hollandaise was bland and my poached soft eggs were way under done for my liking but that could be a personal preference. Others had the the blueberry pancakes and loved them. Was a line up but didn’t take long. Service is pleasant and efficient. Would go back to try something else.

I have been here several times now and every time never disappoints. I had the lumberjack breakfast and my daughter had the breakfast poutine. Both were very delicious. I'm picky with my eggs and they made them actually how I wanted them. Very pleasant server and the coffee is the best. You cannot beat the prices. I will definitely be back.

The waffles are SO GOOD!!! HIGHLY recommend! Service is super friendly, and the prices are great! There can be a bit of a line on Sundays, but that’s to be expected given the size of the diner.

The Ardmore Tea Room is a must for anyone in Halifax with tastebuds! The atmosphere has its own unique charm, the food is fresh, fast and delicious, and the price will make you feel like they forget something on your bill. I started coming here in the early 80’s (yes I’m that old) and I will always make it a must stop when visiting Halifax. It’s well worth the wait for a table, and never leave without enjoying a piece of their coconut cream pie!!

Came here to see what the hype was about because every time I drive by there’s a huge line lining the block. Me and my friend got there bright and early and was not yet a line, got seated very quickly. Lots of menu options for both breakfast and lunch. We got served very quickly. The food was a very generous portion and the prices were great. I ended up getting two large pieces of French toast, bacon, hash browns, and a large glass of orange juice for 15$. Definitely worth the hype, I will be going back and would like to try out there lunch menu

Elle's bistro has always been a Halifax special in my book. From the perfect downtown location to the amazing breakfast food in the past, it was a no-brainer. However, my last trip wasn't up to the mark. We went in for a late lunch, but apart from the burger, everything else was bang average. This genuinely made me sad, but I hope the next time is a good one. Can recommend for breakfast, but I'm not sure about the lunch menu.

We had egg benedict with meat, pancakes ( half order) and French toasts, and two shakes. It was my sons birthday. Wonderful experience. Very large pancakes and toasts. Costed up to 60 cad. It's not bad for 4 people for brunch.

Came in for a simple breakfast but we were treated with a really exciting menu, at fair prices. I wanted to try everything but I stuck with the classic breakfast with sour dough and sausage...... It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Don't pass this place, stop in for a surprise.

I’ve been to Elles bistro previously when I lived in Halifax and loved it, but when I came back to visit today I was very disappointed. The service was very slow, I believe only one waitress was working, but beyond that we waited over an hour for our food. I ordered a tea and the pot it came in was leaking and spilled boiling hot water all over my hands. I had ordered the Nutella banana and strawberry French toast, and found almost no Nutella on it (picture provided), and the French toast had no flavour. I had wanted to switch and order something else but the waitress never came back. Eventually I just decided to leave and get food somewhere else, after eating hardly any of my food. After mentioning how disappointed I was with the meal and service, I was still charged for the uneaten meal. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

It was our first time here, and we did have a good time! The servers were super nice and patient, especially we were there with a baby. They set up the baby chair for us and made sure we were comfortable. The food we got were egg Benedicts, steak and eggs, French toasts and some sides. The steak and eggs I got was super tasty, and they had the onions and mushrooms on the top of the steak, which was definitely a plus. I also love their home fries and eggs, just felt the steak was a bit too small. My friends all enjoyed their meals, but it would be nice if there’s some seasoning for the home fries. Other than that, good atmosphere, good service, decent prices, and so many options! We do love this restaurant!

Today was our first visit and we will definitely be back. I got the chicken burger and my husband the clubhouse sandwich, which he allowed me a bite of and next time I will definitely be getting that! Service was friendly and prompt. The only complaint I have is the stairwell up to the bathrooms is very dark. I have a mobility issues with my leg and I found it challenging and hard to see going up and do own. Definitely need more lighting. Other than that was very pleased.

The breakfast was hot and tasty but you can get the same fare anywhere. Our waitress was ill-equipped so we waited far too long for menus and coffee without any acknowledgment. I really wanted to like this place and it seems many people do but the best decor, the best music, even the best food falls flat when accompanied with poor or substandard service. It's not how it tasted but how they made you feel;  that is what people will remember. Update: We've been back a few times and the service has improved.

I've always walked by this restaurant, but it was my first time to eat inside. We ordered a set B for four. The food was served very fast. It was a lot, and the restaurant gave us 4 more rolls for free. We had a big meal. It tasted good, too. Thank you, chef. I just want the rice in the sushi to be small. I'll come again next time.

A top place! A combination of very friendly service, high value for price and delicious, freshly prepared food makes it my only choice to enjoy Japanese cuisine in Halifax. They’re generous and give you free rolls sometimes, I often end up taking a box with me home. And they’re not just about sushi. Take a look at their soup and chicken dinner. Loved every bite. Can’t recommend it enough. Note: it’s a relatively small place, can get full by 9 pm, so you’re advised to come early

Went there while exploring places in halifax and it is one of the best sushi I had so far and this is no exaggeration. We went during happy hours and the store also send in complimentary sushi, saying its on house. I would recommend everyone to try this place for dinner with friends or family. They have crab sushi with mango, it's so good

Went with my girlfriend for lunch the other day and was blown away with the quality and service. I got the chicken katsu don (portion size was very nice and the flavour was great) and the tamago which was also tasty, while my girlfriend got a few different varieties of sushi which she enjoyed. We were very happily surprised when the server bought us some complimentary sushi to the table, which I tried and was very impressed with. Next time I’m in that area I will definitely be back. This is one of those places I would recommend to try if you like Japanese food. I wish them all the best in the future.

I got food poisoning after eating this sushi. I went to the emergency room in the middle of the night with extreme stomach pain. The tuna tasted incredibly fishy and bloody. For two days I had terrible stomach pain, headaches, and fevers, and I could barely eat anything for two days. I can't eat sushi anymore. I will never come here again.

Probably the best sushi I’ve ever had! I’ve been coming here for over 15 years and the prices have stayed consistent as well as the quality of the food! They always give a few free rolls with any order! If you’re in Halifax definitely come here!! It is always my priority when I visit!

This our favorite place for sushi. The quality has always been great. As a special feature, after you place your order in the restaurant brings two more surprise dishes to your table to enjoy.

100% original Vietnamese went to Vietnamese Banh Mi shop to try for the first time. We ordered LEMONGRASS CHICKEN Banh Mi and its not original, tastless, small size and full of vegetable. Price is crazy, 13$ with tax for a small Banh Mi compared to in Toronto or Montreal. I give them 2 stars because of staff behavior. Updated: For misunderstanding, staff who was the one get stars. She was nice, friendly. The complain was for the food not for her. Love her.

This is an update for impolite response from owner!! So I ordered two banh mi from this place. For the price, the amount of meat was very little, while there was way too much carrot and taste very old both ingredients and the sandwich itself. And it’s supposed to be Vietnamese banh mi, but it didn’t taste Vietnamese at all. Each sandwich only had one tiny cilantro leaf — not even a full sprig, just a single leaf. I felt very disappointed, so I rated it one star. Isn’t that the point of reviews — to share honest experiences? Why does giving a one-star rating automatically mean it’s a “fake review”? That doesn’t make sense. 1 star for product, 0 star for customer service while you are being very mean to customer.

I am a regular for ordering here on UberEats whenever I'm craving something super fresh, healthy and vegan. The Fusion Salad with tofu (Japanese Ginger dressing) is my favourite tofu meal in the city. The tofu is an extra $5 but worth it - I really like the flavor and texture and they are generous with how much they put in. With the quinoa and fresh veggies it is a superfood meal for sure.

Not authentic, food was not in the proper portions of a vietnamese dish. The food was alright, it was a good attempt and i can appreciate the effort and the enjoyment of asian culture and the anthony Bourdain inspirations and of east asian cuisine. Oof this place has gone downhill in the last while. I ordered a tandoori chicken banh Mi and it was actually disgusting. It had five small pieces of chicken and cilantro and the rest was all shredded carrots, (supposed to also have cucumber, daikon, and chillies). There's a picture for you to all see, it was horrible. The chicken broth pho was disgusting. It tasted like a can of chicken broth that was poured into a container, not even heated up. It had pieces of brown vegetables and some pieces of chicken, it also came with the side of half expired lime slices. There's a picture of that too. It was actually one of the worst meals I've had in a while at any restaurant. So disappointing. (Update in the reply. They say that I called to order and I picked it up an hour and a half late. This is all not true at all. First I didn't even call. It was online order. Second it was delivered and it was delivered within 30 minutes of my order. Not sure where they're coming up with these stories to make it seem like the customer was a fault)

Super delicious, authentic and great tasting Vietnamese/Thai food. I ordered the curry with tofu and it was really good. The banh mi was also delicious and both of our orders came within 5 or 6 minutes. Definitely coming here again

I was all excited about the hype of this place moving to the darkside but first impressions are very disappointing, the chicken fried rice was burnt and dry, the honey garlic ribs didn't even taste like honey garlic. The soo gai was dry and rubbery and didn't come with the gravy. All now in the green bin outside. Will not be coming back until I see better reviews. Not even a fortune cookie in the bag either. ruined takeout night for the family.

Absolutely disgusting, this used to be my go to Chinese place in Halifax. We ordered orange chicken and it was mush, soggy and gross. The honey ribs tasted like nothing. It didn't have any sauce on it and their spring rolls are small and different. The sweet and sour sauce was literally clumpy and gross.

Conveniently located at the edge of Spring Garden Road, Jean’s is a classic fusion of Asian and Western cuisine that we’ve come to expect over the last couple of decades in North America. The restaurant was meticulously clean and the decor and atmosphere were quite welcoming. While language barriers may stop you, the Chinese menu definitely hides most of what the restaurant has to offer. We were a big group so we were able to order quite a variety of dishes. Unfortunately, the food was quite lacklustre. It lacked much flavour, some of the meat was undercooked, and the spice was extremely watered down perhaps to appeal to Western palates (which is fair). However, the owner was extremely kind and this was one of the best service I had the pleasure of experiencing in Halifax recently. Her kindness alone would be worth another visit!

I was excited to have Jean's for the first time since they moved from Spring Garden, and all I can say is that I'm glad I found a good Chinese place in the interim, because this was beyond disappointing. The food was absolutely swimming in sauce, yet managed to lack any real flavour. Their hot and sour soup was neither hot, nor sour, and their egg rolls now have a strange after taste that they didn't before they moved. I will never be going back, which is quite a shame, considering Jean's used to be one of my favourite restaurants to order from. I'd have given 0 stars if I could have.

No one in this place even see Ma Po Bean Curd before in their life? What kind of messed up dish are you serving? A whole bunch of tofu and something not even resembling minced pork. Disappointed…

Someone new took my order. Which I completely understand. Needs some time to learn. Ordering took almost 10 mins. I told my order multiple times and she read it back to me. Order came and a whole combination plate was missing. Called back they tried to say I didn’t order it. I said yes I did. The person who took my order even read it back to me. And on the receipt you could see where she started to write down the other plate but scratched it out. The plate that was missed should have been free. Also a $6 delivery when the restaurant is at the bottom of my hill is a bit much. Food was ok at best. Beef and broccoli was way too salty. And the rice portion is crazy. Overall first time ordering and probably will be the last.

I hate to give them 1 star review especially when I used to love this place when it was on Spring Garden Road. It was our office's favourite spot to order from during our many potlucks. I was so excited when they said it was moving to Woodside, it's literally a few minute walk away from me. Well, I have never been this disappointed in my life. It went from 10/10 Spring Garden to 0.5/10 Pleasant Street. If you are looking for good food, go else where. Don't waste your money. I'm very disappointed. Ignore all the 5 star fake reviews. Take it from me, I have been here. Lol

Mixed outcome at this diner for breakfast. Unpretentious interior with a selection of booths and some tables. Serving staff was friendly and topped off coffee frequently however, our order either got lost or misplaced. Eventually asked server to check on order. Expect in a small restaurant that the server should be able to observe that other meals are coming out ahead. Blueberry pancakes and omelet were good enough. breakfast potatoes are either deep fried or from a package not homemade pan prepared. Enjoy going out for breakfast, so would give it one more try and maybe go for eggs Benedict.

I recently enjoyed the Birmingham - a full breakfast with eggs, homefries, toast, and vegan homemade baked beans. I wanted to experience a diner breakfast while visiting Halifax and this definitely hit the spot. One star removed because the baked beans were a bit too sweet with a strong molasses flavour. The breakfast was also $15, which was higher in price that the menus posted online. The servers were very friendly and efficient.

You'll have an excellent and quick breakfast at Mary's Place. I had a lovely bfast sandwich made with a croissant and my partner had the Birmingham. All very tasty! The only black mark on an otherwise great experience is finding out that we'd been charged more for the Birmingham than was advertised on the menu (shown as $13, charged $16). I would request that Mary's update their menu to reflect actual prices. Also the restaurant itself isn't properly ventilated and is very hot, particularly the bathrooms. The space could also use some sprucing up as it has a cafeteria feel.

This time I got their “champ” brunch and it was very tasty as usual. Love their fries, ham and sausage! Definitely will go back again and again! There’s not a lot of options during the pandemic but the food was still super tasty and the price was decent! — The most my fav place in Halifax! The food was tasty and the price was very reasonable. Love the steak n eggs! Big recommended!

Every time I come to Halifax I always make an effort to eat here. The owner and her staff do a fantastic job of taking care of you. It’s a diner that makes you feel like family.

My new favorite sushi place in the city , a little hidden view from the street you come down some stairs and just order everything at the counter and sit after ( aka the servers wont take your order at the table but they do deliver the food at your table ) you pay upfront , it’s practical unless you have free room for desert. We sat and the ambiance is like manga style with a lot a books in Japanese around us , dont get fooled by the decoration because the food is AMAZING trust me I have been to many fancy Japanese restaurants and this one is just as delicious ! We ordered a little bit of everything my personal opinion on the hot sushis ( smoke salmon ) not my cup of tea but my date loved it . And the seaweed salad very tasty, we almost got back again to the restaurant 2 days later because we loved it so much . So guys if you are looking for a delicious sushi this is the place ! ( i am not even sponsoring this lol ) out of true enjoyment of a lovely night out

I'm obsessed with this restaurant. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is really nice. Really love the tonkatsu ramen (very silky broth) and the shrimp tempura (so crispy and crunchy—it's the best I've ever had).

The food is fantastic. I had ramen bowl and several rolls. The rolls were excellent but the ramen is one of the best I have ever had. So flavourful and the pork melts in your mouth. Worth coming for ramen alone. Atmosphere is very cozy and could have a quiet conversation. A must if you are a sushi and ramen lover.

This is my favourite restaurant in Halifax to get sushi. I have been going here for years because the service, quality and food is the best. Their staff are always friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience. I highly recommend. They also do amazing sushi trays which we've purchased for events.

Ordered the Katsudon, and it was fantastic. The portion size was on point and the Katsu and egg was very flavourful. The staff were very friendly and kind, will definitely come again!

The food here is tasty, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but the portion sizes are disappointing for the price. I tried the sushi combo and takoyaki balls, which came to $40, but the portions were so small that I left feeling hungry. While the service was friendly, it couldn’t quite make up for the lack of value in the meal. For what I paid, I expected much more in terms of both quantity and satisfaction.

This restaurant is a gem. Our sushi was delicious, the seafood was super fresh, and the pieces were big enough you could actually taste them, unlike in so many other sushi restaurants. The owner and staff were welcoming and attentive. This is a cozy, quirky place, spacious yet intimate, and the soft jazzy music in the background added to the ambience. We will come back, and also try the other great looking japanese dishes on the menu.

The donair was absolutely incredible! The prize is amazing and the portion is VERY generous!! The sauce is perfect and the meat is so well seasoned and tender! Absolutely, highly recommend this place!

Pizza was awesome. Got a slice and he threw in a half-cut slice as well because it was sitting there for a while and gave it to me for the price of one slice. Warmed it up and it was delicious! First time trying Euro Pizza but will have to go back and try their Donairs. Really nice to deal with!

I’ve enjoyed donair my entire life and I’ve never enjoyed one (at least sober) as much as I’ve enjoyed the donair with cheese I got today. Wife and daughter also agree. Price is amazing, food is amazing, I’m pretty sure they were watching a predator movie with that todd dude from breaking bad. Do yourself a favour and try this place out.

This place has restored my faith in the Halifax Donair. After being away for years I returned to find that most of the donair places are serving garbage...sorry but it is what it is. Food cost control now trumps quality as the driving objective. Euro was a total throw back to the great days of Donair Dominance.

My Donair Was Beautiful, Pure Masterpiece. I know my donairs. I made the Donair Love Song. With the artwork being a Donair from euro pizza. lol. Best Donair I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve Tried almost everywhere in Halifax. Edit: I’ve finally tried the chicken dinner. Absolutely incredible! The donair pizza is delicious too. The meat lovers pizza is out of this world. So good. The yogurt with walnuts and honey is to live for. So delicious. So fresh.

If you’re in the mood for a burnt dosa cooked in what tastes like reused, burnt oil, then Taste of India is the place for you. Unfortunately, this restaurant does a disservice to the rich and flavorful cuisine India is known for. It’s disappointing to see such poor quality associated with the name of our beloved country. I hope they take feedback seriously and make much-needed improvements.

The food is delicious, and the service is great. Our waitress, Pooja, made the experience pleasant with her calming energy. However, the ambiance and atmosphere don't match the rising prices which is unfortunate because my family and I used to come more regularly before, but cannot anymore due to the rising price.

After seeing all the negative reviews, I still wanted to give this place a shot because I love South Indian food. I tried the biryani, and it met my expectations. If you ask me where to get Indian food, 9 times out of 10, I'd choose this spot. Don’t let the negative reviews fool you; the South Indian food here is legit. This isn't a paid review—I just moved to Halifax and am trying out different places. My office is in downtown, so it's convenient too. Cheers!

We came yesterday night and order chattinadu chicken curry and naan’s. Naan was good but the chicken curry was not even worth the price…..it was all watery and lacked spices…..and small portions of chicken in it and we end up paying 17 something dollars for that…..Do not recommend non veg from there…

Great food with a wide selection which isn't all shellfish! It's very busy so there might be a short wait for a table, but it's worth the wait. Service is quick and the food is very good. My husband and I have had the beet salad, teriyaki salmon, ham and brie sandwich pizza and pork burger. I'd be happy to recommend all of them. If you are happy to cope with the weather conditions then try to sit outside. The views are great and it's quieter.

I didn't stay here, only eating lunch here, but the people were phenomenally friendly, food was delicious, prices reasonable and atmosphere was fantastic. I can see why it's a popular spot. The location is beautiful but you will have a heck of a time finding a parking spot. When you do it's paid parking via old school meter that is fed with coins. No card. So $2 for 1 hr. Make sure you have change, which is rare these days. It's a lovely spot to walk after a hearty meal. I recommend this spot. Veggie options too so it's nice for folks that don't eat meat or fish. Service was also spot on, never having to chase anyone down. Attentive and timely. The food came out in good time as well that a party of 7 of us took about an hour from the moment we were seated to the moment we walked out. Great place.

One of the best meals you’ll eat in Nova Scotia. Excellent, inventive and fresh. Cannot recommend this place enough. My sister and I split a lobster roll, chowder and salad. Everything was delicious. Service was great and it’s got a killer view.

Fabulous dining experience! Came based on local colleague’s recommendation. The seafood chowder was rich and tasty and the beet salad with scallops was perfectly dressed and perfectly seared scallops. Service is friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the view of the harbour sitting on the deck.

Had dinner here for the first time after it had been hyped up over the years while passing through town. Service was good, very nice and attentive servers, however the food was not up to snuff. Appetizers: The crab cheese dip was 100% cheese and 0% crab; the shrimp bruschetta was served as a salad with toast on the side. Both were well below expectations and standards of such a restaurant. Mains: Fish cakes were basically mashed potatoes cakes with next to no fish detected. The Lobster roll was way too much bread and mayonnaise, way too little lobster for the hefty price tag of this menu item. Cocktail: Blueberry Mojito was the first item on their cocktail menu. It can only be described as blueberry juice as there was no noticeable amounts of alcohol or mint present. It also came out in less than a minute making us think it either came from a can or it wasn’t finished before it was served - either is possible based on our experience! Overall, it was really 2 stars but given our good service and comfortable seating in the corner at the window, that earns another star. Would not return.

Great place to eat in lunenburg. We had the burger, pear and prosciutto pizza, and the seafood chowder. I’m not a seafood chowder person normally, but this was absolutely amazing, 5/5. The burger was ok, just a regular burger, bun was a bit dry. Nothing special about it, but tasted good. The potato’s were really good though with the garlic aioli. The pizza was really good. Cool combo, never had something quite like it. Little bit too much arugula on top for my liking, but my partner didn’t mind. The vibe is great in here, and service was great, would definitely go back again

Down for the day and popped in for lunch. Had pizzas (me the prosciutto and pear, hubby had the one with pretty much everything). So good! Can’t wait to come back for another. Coffee was excellent too!

Seafood diner serving up some great seafood at reasonable prices. The Bluenose II restaurant is a hotdog bun lobster roll place. Which I have absolutely no problem with. Other establishments will serve a top-split bun. Fancy vs simple. I am there for the filling, and the bun second. The lobster roll was very good. Not the best I have had, but worth a try. We had pan fried haddock as well, with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Great as well. Service is very good, quick and efficient. The dining room is very simple, clean and creates a nice diner feel. Location is steps from the waterfront, so a nice stroll along the boardwalk after diner is a nice option.

This restaurant is located at a busy intersection so it catches your eye after walking by a few times. Get the whole lobster instead of the lobster roll, it tastes fresher and better with butter; plus the clam chowder is tasty. Lobster roll was pretty disappointing with the bread being too hard and given the tiniest scoop of lobster. Lobster dinner was $49 and lobster roll $26 (before taxes + tip) Reservations not needed, coming on a Friday night they were maybe 2/3 full.

Fantastic experience at Bluenose II! Noticed it while on the way to visit the citadel and decided to return there after unsuccessfully finding somewhere for lunch. What a lucky coincidence - it was an amazing experience all around and should've been our top choice. I had the cheeseburger and it was 5 stars. So tasty!! Lobster roll was equally good. I could eat that burger every day.

Recommended by a local to try out this restaurant for some sea food. We decided to try the clam chowder, fish and chips, and a lobster roll. The fish and chips featured two large pieces of haddock white fish which was fresh, no fishy flavour. Came with a nice tartar sauce. I asked for extra lemon and it was even better. Clam chowder was excellent and wasn't too salty as some reviews mentioned. The lobster roll was good as well. I squeezed some extra lemon on that and it was even tastier. The only thing lacking is that no one came to refill our water glasses. She came to check on us after we finished. Good thing we brought our own bottled water.

Wide menu with good value for the portions. Classic diner-style spot — casual and a bit outdated but cozy. We tried the lobster roll, fish and chips, and clam chowder. The fish and chips were the standout, great flavor and crispy fries. The chowder was rich and creamy but a bit cold, and the lobster roll was good but not amazing. Overall, a solid place for a casual meal, though not sure it’s the best representation of Halifax seafood.

This spot is a hidden gem for good food! The vibe is pleasant and casual, making it perfect for a relaxed meal. While prices might be a tad high for the portion sizes, the location justifies the cost compared to other local restaurants. I typically don't give less than 5 star reviews but me and my family were incredibly disappointed by this restaurant. We ordered the spaghetti and lobster meal, in terms of service the waiter forgot to give us our salad and then forgot to give us the dessert, and blamed it on the chef forgetting when it was clearly their responsibility. The lobster didn't taste very fresh and although the size looked fine, there was not much meat and was mostly empty inside. The spaghetti's sauce was watery on the bottom but solid on the top, and the noodles tasted cheap. Once we brought to their attention that they forgot to also bring pudding, they gave it to us as take out (for benefit of doubt, they also did say they were waiting for us to finish to bring out the pudding, but we were also waiting quite a bit before we decided to just go) the pudding they gave was not even halfway full in the already small container (although again, that could be how small their portions usually are). If you (like us) have been recommended to eat there, we strongly advise against it.

If you are near Grand Pré, this is a must-visit spot! I have eaten here several times and it seems even better since my last meal. The view from the dining area is breathtaking and reason enough to come here. We enjoyed warm and friendly service throughout our lunch. The shrimp and lobster roll was beautifully presented and delicious. The braised lamb tacos were great, too.

We visited this vineyard on a busy day, but with plenty of seating we were able to get a table quickly. The service was a little slow, though our waitress was very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious - I had the soup of the day and the pesto chicken sandwich, and I’d highly recommend both. The vineyard has a beautiful view, making it a lovely spot to relax. Do bring a sweater, as it can get chilly with the wind and shade, though they do provide blankets if needed. I’m not a huge fan of their wine, but I’d happily return for the food and the great atmosphere!

I only stayed at Luckett Vineyards for a short time, but it was such a great experience! I’d totally recommend it to anyone passing by the area. I had some appetizer with wine and the beef carpaccio was especially delicious, and the tomato soup taste deep. The view from the restaurant is amazing, so even if you can only stop by for a bit, it’s worth it. Don’t miss the cute red phone booth. it’s a perfect photo spot! The wine was also great value for the price.

The red phone booth welcomes you as you approach this beautifully tended vineyard. Along with the vines, the grounds are lined with beautiful beds of flowers and plants. A treat for the eyes as you arrive. Inside the stunning building (it was misty and sprinkling the day we visited), we enjoyed a $12 wine tasting with generous pours and the most knowledgeable and passionate host. My husband and I recommend their Tidal Bay, Phone Box Red and Big Bill. Before we left we visited the red booth to phone it in.

We had such a wonderful time , We did the tasting and were so impressed by the variety and quality of the wines—each one was better than the last. Our server was incredibly helpful and made the whole experience even better. The views of the vineyards were breathtaking, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon. We'll definitely be back!"

Pros: the red telephone booth in the vineyard; view of the vineyard: ; resto/dining hall has high ceiling; can host events (weddings); ample washroom stalls at the mezzanine(?) area; has a shop; our server was nice enough; food quality is okay Cons: there was at least 1 fly who kept on bothering us; only one washroom at the main floor (was looking for a diaper change table and did not find it at the upper stalls); slow service overall; food taste/overall flavor did not excite us (not delicious) and did not encourage us to return. Spent about $130 for food. Food does not have “wow” factor, never coming back here again. This is our both first and last visit here unless they amp up their menu taste/flavor. Lovely view overall, though.

Restaurant with a beautiful view of the vineyard and unique phone booth that works! Phone Box red and white wines were a great complement to the food. On a sunny day, the doors were open to let in a fresh breeze.

Our first lunch in Nova Scotia and it was delicious. Simple and unpretentious fish and chips. The portions were very generous and quick service. The only thing that can make it better was the fries. It’s the frozen cheap fries. If these were home fries, this would be the best I’ve ever had. At $17.50 for 3 pcs, we shared it between the 2 of us and was stuffed. Don’t forget about the vinegar based coleslaw as it was needed to break up the fried taste. Highly recommend this place. We tried to go back again but it was closed on our last day in town.

I went into this with high hopes. I was excited to try the fish and chips as they’re “the best around”. The staff were extremely friendly and it seemed like a very small town local spot. The coleslaw was very good, 5/5. But unfortunately that’s we’re the good reviews end. The fish and chips were visually appealing but under the nice crisp was a layer of gooey dough and overly greasy fish. I suspect they are par-cooked before being served. The fries were very clearly frozen before as they had no potato flesh. Just a crust. Overly crispy and no substance to them. It’s a shame since they have such high ratings overall. That being said, the meal was $15 all in and the food came out extremely fast and hot. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Amazing seafood! Definitely recovering this restaurant iconic. Every community has that amazing restaurant that has lasted for many, many decades. John's lunch is that place. Testimonials on the wall and printed on the place mats. Very large servings, very good quality. My go-to items are the scallops, fried clams and haddock fish and chips.

Good food, gravy is terrible I'm not sure if they use nutmeg or Cinnamon but it is the most disgusting gravy. Dirty cups, dirty forks. Great service, very friendly, They need to change there gravy I can't stress that enough. Pleasant street uses the same recipe I think it's absolutely terrible. I come from a family of Cooks so I know good gravy. Fast service , food was nice and fresh, hot.

John's lunch is a must stop shop whenever I visit Halifax. The seafood served at John's Lunch is almost as good as the restaurant's service, which is to say that it is world-class. The portion sizes are incredible by any consideration, but given the very reasonable pricing, there is nowhere else you can eat to get a similar bang out of your buck.

Food was served fast and freshly made. Service was attentive and friendly. The fried whole clams meal is what brings me back to visit again and again. Cannot say enough about the cleanliness of the diner. And the amazing deliciousness of the food!

This place has been here since I was a kid. I've visited many times over my years living in Dartmouth. It's a must visit for me when I go back home! The seafood platter is to die for. Generous serving of clams, scallops,shrimp, fries and of course an awesome piece of Halibut. That's my favorite but don't think that's the only good thing on their menu from this! It's loaded with awesome seafood, burgers and pizza to name a few. This place is busy during lunch and supper so plan your visit before or after the rush times. You'll get a table or a counter seat this way. Otherwise prepare for take out. No matter what you won't be disappointed. If you enjoy watching a well tuned kitchen team work you'll get a good show from these folks. They're good at what they do. I can't say enough good about John's Lunch! 👍👍👍👍👍

The port of Halifax in general is an amazing place to visit. Many different dining options and beautiful views of a very busy harbour. The Maritimes museum on the boardwalk is well worth a visit as is the immigration museum at Pier 21. Parking for the farmers market and pier 21 is available at lot D across the road. Parking cost is 12$ per day but you can also choose the hours you wish. Pay by debit or credit card at the provided terminals which are well marked. The lots are patrolled and tickets are issued for non payments or over hours .

As a vendor it is awesome, love meeting new customers. There is a great variety of fresh and cooked goods along with homemade artisan products for all ages. A great opportunity to come and support local while having a uniquely wonderful shopping experience. All the vendors there are fantastic!

The Halifax Seaport Market was enjoyable to visit, lots of friendly vendors, good local products, and a nice waterfront atmosphere. I liked it overall, but I was expecting it to be a bit bigger with more variety. Still worth checking out if you’re nearby, especially for a quick stroll and a bite to eat!

I've been to NovaBunsik and had such an amazing BBQ chicken bun I've ever had! This BBQ chicken bun tasted like something from a fine dining restaurant, and the ingredients inside were incredibly tender and delicious. My son even ate two! The staff here made their own sauces, which really enhanced the flavor, and some other menu which we tried were excellent as well.

What a lovely place! 100% recommended! Always love travelling and stopping at the farmer's market of that place. Couldn't taste everything, but our highlight was the egyptian food! So so good! Oh, and the fruit with melted chocolate and toppings :-)

We went on a Sunday, and definitely found some stuff that was great, but it was a lot smaller than anticipated.

Food is dependant on what you get. The lobster rolls- not the greatest... at all actually. The chowder- very good. Fish and chips, pretty good. Cutlery and dinnerware is all plastic, which is fine if you don't mind that. Atmosphere is what you'd expect. I'd recommend it over tourist traps like the bicycle thief. If you want a decent meal of fish and chips, try here. Pricing is a little on the higher side than what you'd expect. All the food seen was 80$ tax in, excluding drinks.

I came to Halifax for a trip these two days and accidentally discovered this small fast food restaurant. But don't be fooled by this small shop, the fish and chips here are really amazing. Not only are the portions large, but the fish and chips are fried to perfection. I also recommend the fish burger, which is a whole piece of fish, which is simply amazing. The service staff's work attitude is also very serious, not like the attitude of employees in an ordinary fast food restaurant at all, and there are outdoor seats here. If I weren't here for a trip, I would definitely come back!

I recently dined here again, and while I’ve always enjoyed their Fish and Chips in the past, I noticed a difference this time. The dish, which used to be exceptionally delicious, felt somewhat average in terms of quality or taste. I’m not sure if the recipe or preparation has changed, but it didn’t quite live up to my previous experiences. I hope this feedback helps, as I’ve always appreciated this restaurant and look forward to enjoying the same great flavors again.

paid $49 for two small meals, and honestly the portions were disappointing for the price. On top of that, I found a fish bone in my food, which was unpleasant. A nice little hole in the wall place. Don't mistake its location in Bayer's Lake for a corporate chain. The food was decent quality - I was concerned because other reviews mentioned small portions, but the 2 piece fish and chips was big, with a good handful of fries. The batter was thin and crispy I did think the fish could have used a bit more seasoning, so I took off a star for flavour.

The Seafood Chowder and Fish & Chips were both incredibly delicious! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great seafood! 🐟🍲💙

Perfect post-hike stop after Cape Split! Ordered the Low Tide Burger and a medium lobster 🦞, both were delicious and totally hit the spot. The waterfront patio offered a stunning sunset view, making the experience even better. Service started off just okay, but Patricia turned it around with her warm and friendly attitude—thanks for the great service, Pat! Also loved the Coleslaw on a Shell 🐚 Highly recommend.

Great view on the 3rd floor! We got the lobster roll and the scallops paired with fries and a caesar salad. The food was all well seasoned; but we found the lobster and the scallops to be both slightly overcooked. Caesar salad was great, and they did NOT skimp on the bacon bits - yum!

I've been in Nova Scotia 6 nights so far, had whole lobster 3 times and this is the first time it was cooked perfectly. The poutine and coleslaw was also perfect. I had almost given up hope for NV lobsters. And, the price was reasonable, unlike the first two times elsewhere.

The old lobster pound has been updated with a restaurant. The floor had a consider slope to it. We had to sit sideways on our chairs to avoid sliding off. The lobster roll is one of the best around. The onion rings were very good and plentiful. The scallops were great. The cold salads were a bit of a letdown. I am fairly certain they were from a bucket at a grocery store. They were not homemade like in the past.

Rather good food, great location. Lobster was a touch over cooked but meaty and delicious. Fish cakes were a bit more filler than I would have preferred. Potato salad was good. Staff were friendly.

Friends and I popped in for dinner to check out the pizza oven deliciousness we've been hearing about. We found a table on the patio easily on a gorgeous summer evening and quickly ordered up three pizzas to share - the BBQ chicken, the pork one and the pepperoni one. My fav was the BBQ chicken but the other two were a close second. One of our group also ordered three oysters which she thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely a great dinner spot!

The lobster dinner was incredible. The mussels were huge AND delicious. The lobster had delicious flavour. The place was clean and, even though we came late in the season, the atmosphere was still great. The team there is also very down-to-earth and puts in all the energy to make the experience awesome. I didn’t have a lobster supper, but attended the DFA1979 show on July 31 and had a great time. Very cool venue with fantastic sound, DFA are a loud band and I’ve seen them before with a less than stellar mix, this show sounded crystal clear, security was quick to attend to a few folks who were getting pretty rowdy and pushy, nothing you don’t see at other rock shows, but good to know they were looking out for the folks who were there for the music. 10/10 no notes

It was my wife's birthday and she loves 🦞 and so I did a Google search and find this place. The reviews were good and the trip wasn't too long so I surprised her. The place lived up to the online ratings. Wonderful people, great atmosphere and 5/5 food experience. Reese (hope I got the spelling right) welcomed us in and we had a wonderful evening together eating lobster, having tea and cider. They have a kids meal part of the menu and even though it's small it will keep the kids busy while you Chow down. Will I be back? most definitely. At least once a year for my wife's birthday. May be the start of a tradition? And finally there was a lady there who had her 98th birthday and the whole building sang her a song. Was good to be a part of that experience! Pro tip : this place fills up fast during lobster season. Reserve your spot ahead of time.

What a great way to end the day after hiking Cape Split. It is their 89th year!!! Super friendly service, delicious salads, fresh mussels, those fluffy soft rolls, and of course the lobster, finishing with lemon cake and chocolate brownie. Glad we were able to enjoy the experience before they finish the season.

You should go for the live music at least ones Lots of great bands play on Saturday nights. All are welcome from the age of 19-99. The new addition they added outside is beautiful. Always a fun night.

Enjoy some lunch on the deck at the Shore Club, had pizza from there wood fired pizza oven. Had the barbecue chicken pizza and it was so yummy! Will be back again for sure.

Extremely disappointed with my recent visit. Ordered the lobster roll which was quite expensive ($28), but what arrived was frankly embarrassing for the price point. The lobster meat was clearly pushed to the very edges of the roll to create the illusion of a generously filled sandwich - you can literally see the sparse, empty middle when you look at it. It's a deceptive presentation that makes you think you're getting much more than you actually are. The chopped lettuce was slimey in parts and bitter, overpowering the flavour of the roll. To top it all off, the service was unfriendly and unwelcoming. The staff seemed disinterested in providing even basic hospitality. For the premium price charged, this was a major letdown on all fronts. The deceptive food presentation combined with poor ingredient quality and unfriendly service makes this place impossible to recommend. Save your money and go elsewhere.

First visit and would return if in the area. As soon as the poutine was open you could smell the delicious beef gravy. They use fresh cut fries, nice and crispy. The gravy was delicious, flavorful and not overly salty. Cheese curds were nice and big. Good portion for a "small"... I asked for a sandwich recommendation, she said the clubhouse was her favorite. A few choices for sauce, I got the garlic mayo and was it ever a good choice! Very well prepared with homemade bread, multi grain. Fresh cut tomatoes, lettuce, fresh turkey (not a deli one) and it was devoured a quarter at a time. We tried to get some take out cabbage rolls, mac and cheese but they were already sold out. Nice take out list and if not Thanksgiving weekend, you might stand a chance lol Definitely a community gem here, lots of picnic tables outside. Wheelchair accessible parking, but 3 stairs to get inside going down. No indoor seating or bathrooms I could see. Edit to say washrooms on the left... :)

This small roadside bakery and restaurant, located by a serene lake, offers a cozy stop for travelers. I really should have posted this review a long time ago. White sails has been a mainstay for us anytime we are out for a drive. If you are travelling anywhere near Peggy’s Cove you should be stopping here. It’s a family run local business with a great selection of great tasting , perfectly prepared food. The owners and staff are always so friendly and courteous and they really give back to the community in so many ways. They have a great selection of bakery items and an awesome selection of gluten free items both hot and bakery related. It is honestly a go to place for us and when we want to treat anyone travelling from out of province.

Delicious! Lobster roll, grilled cheese with bacon and smoked meat sandwich (Reuben style). Super friendly staff. Also, local golden blonde beer on tap was tasty! Outdoor seating. Friday karaoke night (open until 10pm).

We went because my mother is celiac and she really wanted french fries and they have a dedicated fryer, the fries were delicious. I had a medium poutine and it was huge and delicious.

Absolutely obsessed with the selection of desserts here. So dangerous for my waist and wallet 😂 The GF desserts are just as good as the non GF. My favourites are the chocolate mousse cake and cheesecakes, but you can’t go wrong with any of the options! The staff here are also super friendly. One of my fav stops in Halifax!

My wife and I stopped by the winery today on a mini-wine tour. We were here last in 2016. After purchasing a bottle of Gaspereau Rose to enjoy on the deck we purchased another bottle to take home. The bottles were reasonably priced at $22 but we were not informed of the $15 corkage fee. Made our experience less than 5 star, which it would have been otherwise.

Great location, great wines including Tidal Bay, one of their best and also try their Rieslings. Sit on their deck and sip their wine.

Gaspereau had a wine with a litchee taste -which was very unexpected and surprising-. We have to give them original points. The outside setting is also perfect.

We stopped by Gaspereau Vineyards about a month ago to sample some wines. We tried their Riesling, Rosé, Lucie Kuhlmann, Tidal Bay and Cuvée Brut; and, they were all pleasing. The staff was also very friendly and informative.

Located along a quiet country road with beautiful country side as a back drop. Stop in and taste the local wines (their Muscat is still the best) and stay for lunch on the outdoor patio. Food is excellent, try the smoked salmon trio with the Muscat or the lobster sliders with the Riesling.

A great selection of wines with an amazing patio and lounge area! Dog friendly with a great tasting bowl on the porch for the pups! The muscat and the Rosé are great! A great stop between Benjamin Bridge and Luckett.

I visited there on the way go to Halifax from Clair. I needed to stretch my body and have a nice meal. The view was incredible. Food was very delicate. I hoped I had a company to share my pizza and tried other food.

This is a cute little breakfast place. The prices are pretty decent. I got the eggs Benny on special. - the portion size was on the smaller side which is understandable for the price! - the bread was homemade but unfortunately a little bit hard and lacking flavour - the hollandaise sauce was actually the worst I have had in a restaurant. It tasted and looked more like melted butter than anything. Thin and flavourless. - the eggs were done nicely! - blueberry jam was good. Overall I wouldn't go back but it was nice to try.

This place makes me so happy, it's such a real, authentic, local little vibe. Way better than 90% of the bougie downtown spots. Annie is a real sweetheart, and the little diner aesthetic is so perfect. Great stuff going on here 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Annie is super nice. She is trying. I wish it were better, but it missed on lots of levels. It didn’t take long for the breakfast to unwind when the first cup of coffee was delivered, a whole carton of cream dropped onto the table and then taken back when the waiter said the coffee was messed up as there would be copious grounds on the bottom of the cup. The omelette was a veggie omelette unlike anything I have ever experienced. It was a salad in an omelette. Like cucumber, cabbage…. In an omelette? I was game. It was not good. The other order was two eggs over medium and one egg yolk was over hard with broken yolk. If you break the yolk start over? I don’t know. Orders the pancakes as a third dish and they were uninspired and flat with thickness like a crepe. The best part was the store bought syrup sadly. The homemade bread was as hard as a rock. Gosh I wish this review were different and if you read my reviews you will know I try to be both entertaining and accurate. This review doesn’t have a lot of platitudes for a reason. The place is super small and it seems that two of their tables are broken because people showed up and turned away because there was no room and only four tables being used at the time. The reviews were so favorable. I love local finds and one of a kind spots. But sadly to say, I have no clue where those reviews came from. This place is one to unfortunately pass up.

What an fantastic, but different experience we had going for breakfast at Annie's! The environment is unique, and we loved it. Experiencing Annie and her small team directly was very interesting, and the outcome of the breakfast food was outstanding! Worth a visit for all for sure!

We came here because of the positive reviews and liked that it’s small biz not big chains. But this place is just not good. Ordered a large latte, got a large mug alright but only filled to 1/2. Asked for water multiple times and when finally came, four of us were asked to share two glasses. My daughter was asked how she’d like her eggs for the Benny, she got excited for a bit and said soft, except when it came, one was at best medium and the other was well done and yolk broken. My oatmeal with fruit that cost 8 CAD came with literally tasteless oats with a few sorry blueberries, and nothing else. The bill came to be 80 CAD before tips. The food was prepared bare hand with no gloves, reeks of grease from the kitchen. Don’t get fooled by the reviews, avoid this place.

Our family really enjoyed our experience at your winery. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the range of the tasting menu and bought several bottles to take home. We had the pleasure of talking to one of the owners Louis who gave us a lot of information about the property and made our experience very memorable. We will definitely be back.

My son and I had the please of visiting this picturesque winery on our visit from western Canada. Ben gave us such an interesting tour of the winery, explaining how the old church was moved to this location becoming such a beautiful setting for the store and restaurant. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and purchased several bottles of ones we enjoyed. I highly recommend this unique winery!

Although we have been here many times, it was the first time we were able to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. What a lovely experience! I have to say, we are so lucky to have so many amazing wineries in Nova Scotia and Avondale Sky is one of my absolute favourites!

Discovered this Family run Winery a few years back and they have become one of our absolute favourites. Wines are amazing and the folks there are incredible. Nice to go a place where "Everyone knows your name!" Cheers to them!

After touring a number of wineries, we decided to visit one more on the way home the next day. Avondale was a pleasant surprise at the end of the trip. It was quiet compared to some of the others, family owned and operated. Amazing charcuterie, after my wife and I samples wines we left here with more than we bought anywhere else. Special hats off to the Newport Reserve which was a delight.

We are very fortunate to have a warm and welcoming business like this in our neighborhood. We have visited many times, on the patio for a glass or inside to shop for exclusive wines. Today was no different, the owners are absolutely pleasant and staff are very accommodating. Thank you for everything!

We had a wonderful visit to Avondale Sky Winery today. The deck is a beautiful spot to enjoy wine tasting and a variety of appetizers. The smoked salmon with capers, sauce and crostini’s was delicious. We savoured the beef carpaccio and enjoyed every bite. We’ll be back!

Beautiful winery! We had a tasting and tour with Ella, she was informative and well spoken. The buildings and vineyard are beautiful and the food and wine were great. The bigger vineyards are nice however, I loved the more personalized and mellow feel of Planter’s Ridge.

This isn’t my favourite vineyard and the wine wasn’t the best I’ve had, but the view is absolutely amazing. We ordered the sparkling flight and it was nice to sit, relax, and enjoy it while taking in the scenery. Worth a visit for the atmosphere alone.

Planters winery is a hidden gem! We took family here for some wine tasting and also ordered two Charcuterie boards; one cheese & one salmon, which were beautifully presented and very tasty. The flight of wines were delicious and bottles were reasonably priced. The building itself is beautiful & has a wrap around deck with amazing views. We highly recommend this winery and we will be returning again soon.

We stayed at Planters Ridge Winery for two nights in room 3. Upon arrival we received an email with the code to the room. The room was very nice and spacious, but the fact that there is nobody there to greet and welcome you is very strange and it seems like Planters Ridge is uninterested in their guests. We went upstairs with our bags a lady came in the hallway and asked if we were the travelwriter... Does that mean that the travelwriter gets an other reception then an ordinary travel person? Even at breakfast there is nobody, little notes are put on the table with your room numer. After some time while having breakfast, a staff member came in and asked if everything was ok. Checking out means getting the bags out of the room and close the door. Nobody asked how the stay was, if we enjoyed ourselves, very very impersonal. We have been travelling Nova Scotia, PEI and Cape Breton for 2,5 weeks and this was the most impersonal welcome of all the 9 accommodations we had. After arrival we had some wine tasting on the terrace and the lady who served us was very kind. The views are great, it's a nice place to relax. If you want people to stay at your place, make them feel welcome, show your face as an owner or staff member and show some kind of interest. We are paying guests after all. To us it felt like we didn't matter. This is really a setback for Planters Ridge Winery. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Little place on the corner. They give you tons of donair. We ordered the JK Donair. It was good. We got a baklava but it didn't have much taste. We sat on seating looking out an open window to the street. That was a nice experience.

I got take out. If I stayed there I may have given it 3 stars because the music was way too loud. However, if I'm rating the donair on its own, it was delicious. I hadn't had one before so I can't compare it to others, but the sweet sauce the meat is topped with is addicting. It was jam packed with meat too- they didn't skimp. The fries were overcooked though. (I got the original donair combo)

A good place to get a bite to go! We got a Double Chicken Souvlaki with extra side. The sauce was amazing, rice could do better and chicken, salad & potatoes were good. The place was small and needed a bit cleaning for sitting area, but overall fine experience.

Can’t not have a donair when in Halifax! Last few times I was here we always ate at KoD but it’s not at this corner anymore so Johnny K’s it is. Well, they didn’t disappoint. We ordered a few small JK donairs for an afternoon snack. It sounds wrong, haha, but the shaved meat was tasty and generously applied; however, I would have liked it to be a bit crispier on the edges. They cooked fresh and pre-shaved meat on the griddle with a bit of water to moisten. I asked for lettuce with the usual tomato and sweet sauce, of course!

Great Donairs. Have yet to be disappointed by one. Visit at least once a week. Prices are reasonable, and always have Friendly service. Only stool and counter type seating, this restricts eating with a group or people bound to a wheelchair. Overall well worth the stop if your in the market for a donair.

Donair poutine was flavourful and loaded with toppings. Meat was a tad dry but the donair sauce and gravy made up for it.

We ordered a large donair and it was very good. The pita was the same size as a regular so who knows. I would be try it again.

Great little vineyard that mostly produces sparkling wines. Wine tasting was great. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They patiently answered any questions we had. My favorite was their rose. If you like sparkling wines, don't miss the opportunity to visit L'Acadie Vineyards.

Stopped in a a great time we were the only ones there. Had a great conversation with the staff who gave us lots of info about there wines. Also had tips on good local spots to visit.

Loved the wine tasting experience. The wine was so delicious with its essence, that we purchased one. The staff was incredibly kind. They patiently and enthusiastically explained how they are produced, and other questions asked. Definitely a MUST VISIT. 5/5 Easy.

Had such a wonderful time at L'Acadie this summer! The vineyard tour was a wonderful experience, and it was great to learn more about the vineyard's process before sampling their wines. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable, and the wines were fantastic. Could not recommend more highly!

A never miss stop on the Annapolis Valley wine tour. Vintage after vintage, this place always impresses me with their fantastic sparklings. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly with above standard Covid practices. Buy $50 worth of wine and your tasting is free! Try everything. Favourite this year: 2017 Vintage Cuvee.

Delightful! Wonderful hosts and the sparking here is top shelf. Try them all. You won’t be disappointed. Hidden gem and possibly the best sparking in NS (hell - Canada, as I’m from the west coast and haven’t had any better from the Okanagan Valley. Super awesome!

Knowledgeable staff, delicious wines, and organic even! Such an exciting find. We bought wines here for our thanksgiving dinner and they paired perfectly with our feast. Delightful!

The wines we purchased here were very good and we enjoyed them a lot. 5 stars. However, unfortunately, the salesgirl was not very knowledgeable about the wines she was selling. It would also be great if the shop offered snacks like nuts and crackers, as they are always helpful for comparing different wine varieties.

I have done a couple winery tours in Wolfville but this was the first time visiting Mercator Vineyards. The building is beautiful and very tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. They have a beautiful area upstairs for larger groups. The only downfall was the amount of each pour at the tasting. The amount of wine given for each wine tasting was SO much less than every other winery we visited, it definitely wasn’t an ounce. It appeared to be more like 1/4 an ounce. It was so obvious that a number of people in our tour made a comment about it. I’m not sure if the staff member was just a new employee, as he had mentioned he was a student at a university in the area? I’m not sure.. but other than that, it was a great visit!! Shoutout to the staff member from Newfoundland.. you’re awesome!!

We stopped into Mercator Vineyards on a weekend road trip, and it was such a great experience. The setting is beautiful and relaxing, perfect for enjoying some amazing wine. Their Tidal Bay is honestly the best we’ve had in the region, and the reds were spectacular too. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and you could tell they really love what they do. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to and recommending to friends.

We visited Mercator Vineyards a few weeks ago to sample some their wines. It was a beautiful farmhouse building with several rooms and seating areas indoors and outside. The wines we tried were actually very enjoyable; and, the service was knowledgeable and friendly.

The staff here is incredible and super accomodations! The wine pairings were well done and the back patio makes for a perfect place to relax and enjoy. For those travelling with dogs, the back patio and grass area is pet friendly. They have dog water bowls and treats as well! Highly recommend adding this to your list of stops.

They have a habit of not paying their workers. Including their tips. Next time you go there think about where the money actually goes. Not to the workers to get asked to work more and more constantly. Then get shorted more hours.

Went based on multiple reviews of online forum, so did not check as I would if I discovered myself. (Dartmouth location) It was a meat pizza, but had too to much pepperoni than meat, don't know if the asking for extra meat would better the order. . Some of the slices were very burnt and can't be eaten, so not too thrilled. Would be careful next time and check my order.

Tom’s Pizza offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. We especially appreciated the outdoor tables with umbrellas—and the fact that dogs are welcome was a big plus for our family! Located right next to the town's visitor center and a few charming gift shops, Tom’s is easy to find and has ample parking. The place was clean and welcoming, with internet access for customers and plenty of funny signs at the order desk to keep you entertained while waiting for your food. We ordered an 18-inch Meat Lovers pizza and a 9-inch garlic fingers for $44. The crust was thin and crispy, and they definitely didn’t skimp on the toppings—everything was generous and flavorful. You can buy a whole pizza or just a slice, depending on your appetite. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary water, and for those who enjoy a drink, local beer is also available for purchase. Our whole family enjoyed the food and experience. Tom’s Pizza is a great spot for a casual meal, and we’d definitely recommend it to others visiting the area!

We opted for a night in and some quick food before an early morning on the Cabot Trail. We tried a half and half Tom’s special and Ian’s special. Pizza was topped up well and was delicious. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quick bite! Restaurant is very nice with indoor and outdoor dining. Make sure to take a look at all their funny signs when you are waiting for your pizza. 🍕

Seems like a great family owned business. Friendly staff. Tasty pepperoni pizza. Solid deal of $6 CAD for a large slice and a canned soda (Pepsi products) Relaxed, chill atmosphere. Loads of great beers from local/Nova Scotia breweries. I enjoyed the Black Angus IPA. Nice chill patio dining. Classic rock/pop playing on the speakers.

After a certain time in the evening, there is no option for food in Baddeck or surroundings except for Tom’s, and I think that’s a good thing. I grabbed some slices from here a couple of times over the summer and every time, they were delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient, and there’s plenty of parking and seating. It’s also very conveniently located to pretty much everything in the town of Baddeck. My only minor complaint is that they have almost nothing on the menu except for pizza, but at least the pizza is good!

Tom's is a staple and honestly, it's probably the best pizza in Nova Scotia. If you're heading along the highway, make it a point to stop into Baddeck and grab a slice. Quality ingredients. I ordered 2 slices. I had to stop myself from ordering 2 more.

Toms Pizza is hands down my favorite spot for a perfect pie. The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, greeting you with a smile that makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The pizza itself is fantastic. My go-to is the Toms Special on a thin crust, and I always ask for it well done. If you're looking for a great local pizza joint with amazing food and even better service, Toms Pizza is a must-try. You won't be disappointed!

Great pizza in a unique place. After a loooong day on the Cabot Trail we went straight for Tom's Pizza and really enjoyed it. It tasted great, the stuff is friendly and you can spent some additional time to read all those small and big signs everywhere.

A nice big store located pretty much in the heart of Whycocomagh, and is the life of Whycocomagh. It carries a wide variety of items, including bakery and breakfast items. There is also a seating area where one can sit and have their breakfast. The place also has an ATM machine, which makes life a lot easier.

Everything you want in a market country store. They have souvenirs and clothing and also have a cafe / restaurant offering up some tasty goodies. The hot food looked awesome but we had already eaten and was leaving the day after so couldn’t get any delicious items. But we did manage to snag some oat cakes which were nice and crisp and very oat-ey tasting. Service was very quick turning over orders fairly quickly. Parking was easy when we went, but it was very busy and looked like just enough spots for the amount of people there. They also have a small playground to have your young kids exert off some energy before continuing the car ride to your destination. Great job overall

Breakfast sandwich was MASSIVE and very juicy. Super generous on the portion and ingredients, did not skimp whatsoever. Bit of a long wait but the interior was great to wait and peruse all the while. Highly recommend stopping here on any road trips. Lots of parking.

Stopped in whole passing hy and bought an apple pie and a pumpkin pie , both were great . Young lady working the cash was very friendly, lots of other great food items were there too. Recommended stop if passing through the area

Hugely disappointing If you’re in Chéticamp and craving a donair, do yourself a favour and do not go to Wabo Pizza. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for what should’ve been a quick bite, we were handed a dry, cold donair that was clearly just microwaved as an afterthought. The meat was tough and cold, the sauce almost nonexistent, and the pita had the sad, chewy texture of something zapped instead of cooked fresh. In a province that prides itself on donairs, this was an embarrassment. Save your time and your taste buds—go literally anywhere else.

Nice little pizza shop right along the Cabot trail. Minimal seating inside (3 seats) but there's a really nice patio along the water for sunny days. Staff were super friendly. Food was ready fairly quickly. 30 mins for a pizza and garlic fingers. Pizza is pretty good. I usually like mine a little thinner and tighter - if you're an avid pizza fan like myself, you know what I mean. I'd like to eat here again and try one of the subs. Definitely give this place a try if you're traveling through Cheticamp.

Waited 45 mins for an absolute tasteless pizza, ordered a large ultimate veggie pizza. Could barely finish 1 slice. We ate bananas and slept. Had to throw entire pizza in garbage. Old dough and half baked with less pizza sauce.

Gluten free pizza was pretty good, it's just really hard to get the crust cooked evenly so it was burnt on the outside but soggy in the middle. I've only ever found 1 place in Canada that has accomplished this feat - so I'm not mad. It was delicious anyways and we enjoyed a walk around the dock while we waited.

We had 5 Donairs here for dinner with a can of pop each. Over $100! They were easily the worst Donairs we've ever eaten. Tastes like they were made in a microwave. Meat was chunked up rather than sliced. No crunchy bits. The pita was stale/freezer burned. What a disappointment. Location was amazing with pretty view while eating dinner on the patio overlooking the water.

So here's the thing, the food here is honestly below average or probably not even that!! But I’m giving it 2 stars purely because it’s the only place open a bit later, until 11 pm. So if you’re hunting for a late night bite after sunset and have no other choice, this place might be it We ordered pizza, and I’ve never had one this bad, as the cheese was stale and super chewy. We ended up scraping it off and just eating some of the base and toppings. Overall, the food quality and taste aren’t great, so I wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s your absolute last option.

Incredible pizza, fresh local ingredients and easily the best pizzas I've ever had ....and I've tried many. While it's a few minutes off H103 it is well worth the short drive. Wonderful, friendly entrepreneurial owners who take pride in the food they prepare. Hands down the best dining experience in the Bridgewater area.

Awesome quaint little find. Randomly driving by and felt like Pizza. Pizza comes out piping hot...seriously do not go here starving as you will want to do what I did and shove a delicious slice in your mouth before letting it cool off....that being said....totally worth it!

One of the few spots that’s open late in Antigonish. I had very high expectations from the food but it was a bit underwhelming. The flavours are just regular, nothing out of the world. Portion sizes are good for the price and they have a lot of options. Something for everybody and the staff was friendly.

Pizza was ok but to be honest I’m not a big pizza lover. Wish I would have ordered a donair like my dad did. If you love cheese this is the place to go So much cheese ❤️ Cool atmosphere for sure and the staff are so friendly.

My family of 5 decided to try this spot as everyone wanted something a little different for dinner after a long drive into town. Spaghetti - meat sauce was ok. Had a good kick, but tasted a bit greasy and like it had some canned tomato sauce in it or ketchup? Lasagna - excellent flavour! Kid ate her whole plate and wouldn't share another bite 😋 Pizza - chicken, mushroom, banana peppers - good topping coverage, good thickness on crust, nice and fluffy, well cooked. Generous with the cheese! (Although a bit on the lower quality)  Sauce was very good flavour. Donair - very good sauce, lots of fresh veggies, meat a bit dry in a couple places, bread was too tough, but very good portions though! Overall very good, especially for the price :) worth checking out!

Yesterday, together with the family, we wanted to enjoy ourselves with something delicious and decided to buy a pizza from “The Wheel”, because the advertising works well. After receiving our order, we quickly went home to have dinner. But pizza itself was tasteless. ((( I also did not like that the dough has a large side. The ham was not tasty and dry. But worst of all, after dinner, each of us felt discomfort and pain in the stomach and intestines. That's why I'm writing this post and maybe it will help others avoid such feelings. The evening was ruined. Sorry for the money spent. I do not recommend this place.

Ordered pizza here, big hype but not worth the 35min wait for 1 medium pizza. Just very bland.

Cute little restaurant, however terrible service. Took half an hour for a slice of pepperoni and donair burger. We were sitting at the tables and I think they forgot about us. When we asked how long it was going to take we got Attitude from the staff. Not worth the wait. Don’t recommend based on service.

Great place to snack or have lunch. Not much space inside but plenty of tables outside. Quite speedy. We went for fish and chips for lunch and prices reasonable, ñots of fish and many many fries for 13 bucks. You go in and order and wait outside with a buzzer thing, took about 10 min. Great views.

Loved the Fish and Chips and the Loaded Fish Burger. The Tartar sauce was great. I would have given them a 5 star had they made homemade fries. Sad because i expected fresh cut fries and an option for 2 pieces of fish. 1 and i was still hungry. Great food otherwise. Had a great day whale watching and finished with The LightHouse Cafe supper. Ordered the fish cakes and they were incredible! They don’t currently have in-house dining, but there is a lovely wharf across the road with picnic tables. The wife got the fish and chips and they were equally delicious! Lightly battered fish, shoestring fries, just delicious! Big portions and excellently cooked.

Very tasty food at this cafe in the village of Westport on Brier Island. Burgers, homemade soups, and haddock dishes were prominent on the menu. Everything was very reasonably priced. They also serve ice cream and other baked goods for dessert. There is outdoor seating across the street with water views and free parking. The ladies working there were very friendly too.

Worst Tourist Trap! Was working in the area and looked for a place to eat. Saw the pics on Google and reviews. Went in for lunch break and the place was pretty full. Ordered and was told that the meat pie would take 15 minutes. I said that’s fine as long as it was worth the wait. I was told it would be. I had left and went to the restroom. I came back and waited a total of 30 minutes for a meat pie and fries. While waiting, a woman came in twice and asked how much longer her order would be, as she needed to get to her whale watching tour. By the time my food was ready I couldn’t even eat in - Had to do a takeout and didn’t see the food until I was down the road. $10 meat pie that was the size of a McDonald’s apple pie. It had about 10 small pieces of meat - $1 a chunk! The $6 small fries were the size of McDonald’s kids meal and were cold. Not even close to the pictures in Posts. I even tipped 15%. I returned later in the day to discuss the extreme lack of food for $24. I was polite and to the point. The person who served me was the only one in the place. They were polite and apologized about my experience and stated that it was the owners discretion to serve such small portions. I told them I came in for a “working man’s meal, not a tourists snack”. I love supporting local businesses with hard working staff, which they are. I will not support a local riff off joint. Never thought I would be so dissatisfied with a meal in my life. I guess that’s what you get - “Screwed at the Drive Through!” Better off grabbing a pre-made at the store next time!

We each ordered 2 dishes 30 minutes before closing time- the cook commented, “you must be hungry!” We were, and the food was utterly fresh and delicious. Beet salad, bean burger, chowder- garnished and so tasty. We are now wrapping up 2 weeks of vacation, with many more meals to compare, and this meal remains the standout.

Cute little place in Westport with absolutely to die for fish. We had the haddock fajitas before our whale watching tour- it was so good we went back a second time after for outright fish and chips. The fish was so fresh and crispy and light! No heavy breading or extras. I would go back in a heartbeat and try everything on the menu!

Amazing place! It’s so so nice to find this little Syrian restaurant in such a small village. The food is mouthwatering and the owner is a sweetheart! She is sooo kind and friendly, it felt like home. Highly recommended! Thank you so much!

A few weeks ago, my family was looking for somewhere to sit and eat our takeout from a different restaurant. One of the owners at Alladin cheerfully invited us to move one of the picnic tables into the shade, even though we weren't eating his food. We then listened as he continued to be kind, friendly, and generous to all the customers who came to his establishment. We knew then we were coming to eat at Alladin the next time we were in Pictou. That time was today, and the food did NOT disappoint. The chicken shwarma and the fish and chips were both amazing and clearly prepared with love and patience. The prices are great as well. Please consider stopping at Alladin the next time you are looking for a bite to eat. Pictou is lucky to have such a lovely family who make such delicious food!!!

Two of us ate there today, a glorious sunny NS day on the Pictou Waterfront. I asked for lightly battered fish which was happily accommodated and was absolutely perfect. The fries were plentiful and crispy. No grease in sight! My partner had the falafel wrap which was very tasty and done using a large wrap. Staff were super friendly and prices very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Stopped in Pictou while on a road trip, and was happy to find such a great restaurant with a vegetarian option! It's an extremely friendly family owned restaurant. The food took a tad more time to arrive than expected, but that's only because the food was being made from scratch! I eat a lot, so most restaurants portions don't satisfy me, but at least for the falafel wrap that I got, it did. It was MASSIVE. Great portions, and everything.

One of the best places in Pictou to eat, quick service, and the absolute best atmosphere! The whole family is so friendly and always makes you feel at home, they are so kind and friendly! The food is amazing, when they found out I am gluten free, he offered to make my falafel wrap gluten free and it was soo delicious! Always recommend this place to friends 😊

Wonderful eatery. The owner and staff were very kind and helpful. Service was fast. It was great to find a halal option close to the ferry terminal in Nova Scotia.

Don’t waste your money here we ordered the seafood platter and it was underwhelming to say the least overpriced food and overpriced drinks. It cost six dollars for a little tiny vanilla milkshake and six dollars for a root beer float, which was twice the size of the milkshake yet the vanilla milkshake was the same price. The french fries were soggy and disgusting not crispy at all. The platter was not laid out in any sort of Presentable way it was just thrown on the plate I asked for ketchup they gave us ketchup that had been sitting in the sun for who knows how long just disgusting, customer care is not there again. Don’t waste your money go elsewhere.. we figured we would get a nice fresh Platter being that we were in Lunenburg right on the Atlantic Ocean, but the fish was tasteless a little tiny splinter of fish and a great big ball of dough which was greasy, I have never had french fries like I had there they were the most disgusting greasy soggy French fries I have ever had.

We shared a deep fried donair panzarotti and it was delicious. It was huge and filled with toppings. The service was great and the view from the deck overlooking the water was great.

Ya don’t eat here. The fish my friends had was oily, the fries were undercooked and the bacon on my burger didn’t even look cooked. The patio was uninviting. The wait for the “food” was way too long. Seems like it’s just the owner working there. He was nice enough but you couldn’t pay me to go back here. I left disappointed and with a rock in my stomach. Blech.

This pizza was amazing!! Definitely the best spot here.

My wife and I went looking for lunch on the waterfront in Lunenburg just after a huge tour bus had parked and emptied, turning a five minute wait into a 30 minute wait. So we headed up one block to Montague St where we found a quiet gem of a pizza plus shop; J3 Pizza. They advertise as a pizza / Mediterranean grill and it didn’t disappoint. It’s small, so they don’t accommodate big groups but they have a nice menu selection, ranging from pizza to fish and chips. We tried the donairs and found them stuffed with meat and delicious. Skip the lines and enjoy.

This place has a very rude delivery driver that puts a nice guy act on when delivering. we ordered at 8:20pm called back an hour later saying we just want to know when are food is going to be here they said oh and came half an hour later with just a pizza 48 bucks for one pizza when we where supposed to have pizza and a garlic fingers. So he told us he would go back and make it and said infrount of multiple people that the garlic fingers where going to be no charge. After waiting 15 minutes for those we where charged 20 dollars I called trying to see what happened and got to talk to the delivery guy who yelled at me to “ no no listen to me now” so I did he even said he did agree to no charge then after saying then why where we chargers he changed up saying I never said that this was not are first time ordering here but definitely are last. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

J3 Pizza served me one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The toppings were overloaded, the crust was soft as we asked and the cheese was superb.. the entire meal was mind blowing. They take up your order soon and prepare it right away. The staff is extremely friendly and approachable. It seems the chef himself came in to serve the pizza and it tasted delicious. It was so fulfilling for the 3 of us that we had to takeaway 6 slices home. Easy to locate in Lunenburg. It has a nice patio overlooking the waterfront of Lunenburg. If you are around you should definitely grab a bite. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Our pizza was awesome. We devoured it on the picnic table in front of the restaurant :) Service was great too! Lots of outdoor seating but none inside the restaurant.

Delicious pizza! You have a variety to choose from. My favourite is Deluxe. You have a vegetarian pizza as well, also sandwiches, fries and some other things. Space to eat. I took of a star because the lady who works there (owner maybe?) with grey hairs is ridiculously not friendly lol Every year we come there and she is true to herself and never changes 😂 Severe look, no smile, zero customer service. But it’s ok though, we forgive her because the pizza is good.

After a drive along the first leg of the Cabot Trail, before settling into bed at a nearby Inn, I was in search of some comfort food - and the pizza I was served here was incredible. They have picnic tables just outside the front door, which provides a beautiful space for you to eat your pizza as fresh as possible. It may not be all that affordable, but it was worth the price!

Really happy with this pizza. Phoned up to order and it was ready in 15 minutes. Marinara sauce was tasty, cheese too. Great option as not many places to eat in Ingonish - and if they are, may not be open. Note Andrews closes at 7.30pm so get your order in early! For those not familiar with sizes the 14 inch was good for two people, no leftovers.

This place is very busy but worth the wait we got a pizza and a dessert both were amazing when I was in line one of the locals recommended getting the subs next time as they are very filling and are worth the price this is a must stop please

Grabbed some lunch here as I wanted to try out a new chicken restaurant. I tried the 2 piece chicken with fries. The fries are crinkle cut which is a major turn off for me. This is the worst type of fry in my opinion. The chicken breading was tasty and the portion size was good. I received a back and drumstick in my order. The service from the girls working was excellent. They were very friendly and smiling. The restaurant was clean and presentable.

Pretty good fried chicken deals! everything was pretty good we loved the coleslaw and the dark meat special. The fries and potato wedges were very crispy. Not disappointed, 100% recommend

This is a great little restaurant, the chicken is tasty and juicy. Not somewhere most cruise ship passengers make it too. They have a wide variety of chicken meals and burgers. Check out the menu. Also across the street is Lick-A-Treat.

A Cape Breton staple! Relatively quick service considering it was quite busy. You can sit out in your car and wait for your order number to be called. Chicken was incredible, the crispy batter was very flavorful. The gravy was delicious. Would recommend the number 18 if you are a bigger group!

Ordered 2 two piece meals,.price was very steep and did not meet the any quality standards. Upon ordering, server asked if any condiments were to put in the bag and I said yes. When I got back in the cottage with my food orders, there were NO CONDIMENTS inside and the chicken was overcooked, dry and tasteless...

I ordered off uber eats. I was hoping to get snack sized popcorn chicken poutines, but they weren't an option, so I ordered the "two trad snacks" and then a small popcorn chicken and a small side gravy. I had request they added the chicken on top and they did! I really appreciated it and it was just a little extra off my plate to do tonight after a 10 hour shift in a kitchen. Thanks so much guys!!!

Huge portion, very tasty, fast prepared, affordable and in a good location. They are open almost all day long and you can expect the same quality every time you come. I had Buffalo chicken poutine and it was very good. There were not so many people and I could comfortably eat my meal in the restaurant.

Ordered a poutine through Uber Eats, you sent the wrong one. Told me I have to request a refund and re order. So I did that, and you sent me the wrong poutine again. Horrible service, called and you guys couldn’t care less. Absolutely ridiculous. Also didn’t get the full amount back from Uber Eats that we paid. Which is what you told me to do?

My least favorite Poutine in Halifax. The fries and gravy taste stale and cheap. The price is a bit high for the lack of quality. I have been a few times and won't be back. Staff are always very friendly and quick, the restaurant is always clean which is great!

I ordered a traditional poutine and a boneless wings, the poutine was tasted as good as usual, even I’m not a big fan of poutine I’ll still go back sometimes. Today was my first time trying their boneless wings, unfortunately it was super cold inside. I got six or seven wings but they were all cold, so maybe not gonna go back for the boneless wings in the future... (Forgot to take a pic of the wings tho)

I get that places have promotions, which is great....but when you don't have anything for them/run them anymore, stop promoting them. Asked for 4 different types of poutine before saying screw this and went with their basic menu. Their spicy chicken poutine was horrible, no flavor at all...had just ask much pickled jalapeño as canned roasted red peppers, almost nothing for Sriracha and flavorless gravy...it'll I was still there when eating it i would've asked for 3 salt packs and maybe 3 or 4 pepper packs with side Sriracha. The other kicker was not only did I end up paying $12 for this garbage bit I bought a snack pack of fries for my girl's, they actually had a hell of a lot more fries then what I had. The customer service wasn't pleasant what so ever. They use to be fantastic, now I wouldn't recommend to anyone and even explains why they stopped being best of halifax as of 2018.

We stayed two nights in Musquodoboit Harbour and we were three times eating in Harbour Fish "N" Fries. Our favourite was the Fish Chowder. But all other dishes were great. The Staff was exceptionally friendly. Best place to eat in Musquodoboit Harbour.

A neat, clean, little roadside stop with outdoor and indoor seating.  We came for an early lunch, and it wasn't busy.  You order and pay first, then eat.  Staff were friendly and polite, and the service was fast.  I ordered the Seafood Platter, it had a good variety, fish, chips, scallops, clams, and coleslaw.  It was very fresh and tasty.  it had a light, fluffy batter and was perfectly fried and not overly greasy. The coleslaw was tasty as well.  The fries were average.  The dinner was of average portions and quite filling.  A bit pricey but well worth the stop.

Stopped at Habour Fish 'N' Fries for lunch during the 50 mile yard sale and it didn't disappoint!! The fish was awesome, fries we great, and the sample size was perfect. Definitely will be back

On our way back from Martinique Beach we asked some local people for a place to have lunch and they recommended Fish N Fries. Considering they were on the highway, the ambience, food and service was excellent. They informed us they would be closing foe the season Oct 7. Would highly recommend gping there.

Delicious. Large portions. Reasonably fast service despite them being busy. Fish was great. The milkshakes were incredible and onion rings were great, too. Everything appeared to be deep fried, though. Not a great place for healthier options.

For all deep fry it was crisp and clean. Excellent tartar sauce. Would have given 5 for service if it wasn't counter service. Only thing missing was a Lobster Roll on the menu! This was the seafood platter and was enough for 2.

I had to try this novelty while in Halifax.  I ordered The Classic Beaver Tail, cinnamon with sugar.  It was fresh and tasty and not overly sweetened.  It's a decent sized portion, and it is reasonably priced for its size, as well.  It was a busy day, but staff were friendly, and service was still fast enough. It's similar to the Elephant Ear that you can buy at fairs.

Such a simple little dish but I loved it so much that I got them twice on my vacation 😆. The pistachio was extra delicious. They make them fresh so they come out hot and melty. The cashier was kinda a bummer though. I saw the previous customer gave her an extremely hard time and then didn’t tip so I assumed that’s why she was grumpy and annoyed. So I made up for it and tipped like 30% because I felt bad, but I got treated just the same 😆. I mean she could have cursed me out for how delicious these are. Oh well I just hope some of the tip goes to the fry boy.

Delicious! We ordered two apple pie BeaverTails, having never tried them before, being in Canada we thought we must! Reasonably priced and very tasty!

I ordered the classic cinnamon sugar, it was good but the serving portion was drastically reduced in size and even more expensive. The last time I tried this it was wider and bigger. It still taste good though, it’s deep fried with cinnamon sugar :)

7 scallops and fries for 32 bucks plus tax for the flavor of the scallops they are not worth the 5.21 they come to not including the soggy tasteless fries. Got a small order of scallops which includes only 5 scallops which looked to be a normal size scallop cut in half. For world famous seafood their world must be pretty small. It was my first time and my last. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy for their last supper if it was their last meal on earth. For a total of over 70 dollars i should of driven to Annapolis royal to the crows nest and got good food.

This place was gross. We ordered the clams and fries and a poutine. It came to almost $60 with a tip. Took 50 minutes to get our food, which was cold. People were loosing their minds at the wait. I wouldn't have even cared had the food been remotely decent. It was not. I'm glad I tried a new spot, but I won't be coming back. Sorry but I'd recommend passing on this one.

First time being here and it was fantastic! The food was delicious 😋 I got the mozzarella sticks and fries and then were the BEST home cut fries ever! Super crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. The mozzarella sticks had the PERFECT cheese pull! The big guy with the hat cooking was super friendly and made great food! Made my experience great! Will definitely be back! Thank you Ed's take out!

We were just in to Ed’s Take out in Kingston, NS. We arrived at 6:38 pm, we finally got our order at 7:48 pm. No explanation, no one told us when ordering that they were behind, our bill was $87.40 with no explanation, all it would have taken was someone to come out to our vehicle at some point and say it would be a bit of a wait or let us know when we ordered. Not happy at all!!

World famous? For what? Mediocre food? Fish was okay, nothing to write home about, fries was okay, the clams were absolutely awful, $30 for a side of clams that had zero taste unless you count frier oil. They weren't fishy or tough and chewy so at least they seemed fresh, but they tasted like they sat all day in a warm bucket of chlorinated tap water before absorbing the deep fryer oil taste. Overall just not worth the price and does not live up to the reputation.

Aug 31 , I had a two piece fish and chips, everything was over cooked, the fish was small and the pancake batter was thicker than the fish and not good. Your grand father was world famous and a very nice person I met him when I was eight and he just opened his business. The service yesterday was very good the food was not good. So I gave you one star for service. I'll be at Angie's I'm Middleton for my fish in the future.

Got to say, with all humility and reflection....this has been my 3rd time at the Wilmot location and it will be my last. I live 2 blocks away and was super excited when Ed's opened their new location. The product is good but the wait time is ridiculous. This was the first time I was actually refunded for my order after waiting for more than a half hour. Usually I just have to leave. For the price charged, I expect better. I assume better. Also, perhaps consider giving people more than a finger nail of coleslaw which is part of the order

Excellent food. The owner has just taken over and they don’t have a full menu or full service yet. Time will tell. It was cold in the restaurant but, to be fair, it is off-season and they are just getting started. The food was surprisingly very good. The spring rolls were perfectly cooked and had a light spice to them. You don’t need dipping sauce with them, they are that good. You have a choice between deep fried or pan fried scallops and we chose pan fried. They were perfectly cooked; not over or under done. I think as they get more experience and get better set up with a full menu, this will be a destination for good seafood and any other food they add to their menu. I would recommend this place even with the hiccups. You will be pleasantly surprised.

We had an excellent experience at The Stretch Diner! From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the owner, Todd, takes real pride in his restaurant and it truly shows. The diner was spotless, the atmosphere welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond with their friendliness and quick service. The food was the real highlight. The fish was fresh, never frozen, and you could taste the difference right away. The batter was perfectly crisp without that heavy fishy taste some places have, and the homemade tartar sauce was absolutely delicious. Our onion rings were crispy and golden, and the coleslaw was fresh and tangy. Another thing we noticed was how quickly everything came out, despite being freshly made. It’s rare to find that balance of speed and quality, but The Stretch Diner nails it. If you’re looking for classic diner comfort food done right, with fresh ingredients, great flavors, and a team that cares about their customers…this is the place to go. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

A good friend and I stopped by The Stretch Diner today. We were greeted by Trudy who welcomed us like old friends and seated us at a great table. Menus and drinks were presented in short order and we both asked for the recommended clams and chips. My friend asked for a piece of fried haddock as well. Our meals arrived a few minutes later and we were simply astonished by the mountain of goodness that appeared before us! The first bite was even better! These were, without doubt, the best clams we have ever tasted! The hand cut fries and crispy battered fish were second to none! Great and ample Cole slaw and tartar sauce topped it off! The unbelievable clams are fresh shucked on site and they are the pinnacle of goodness! I don’t think this place can be beat, and I have sought out the best clams in Nova Scotia for years! This is it!! Fabulous service, amazing food and a fun 50s diner vibe plus the adorable Trudy add up to The Stretch being The Best!

Ordered burger(the james dean) and husband had fish and chips, both very delicious and reasonably priced. Service is amazing, friendly staff and place will give you old school diner vibes. Felt like we discovered a hidden gem with this one.

We were greeted and waited on immediately. We ordered one piece fish and chips. It arrived quickly, piping hot and very tasty. The fish was fresh and crisp, served with home fries and a nice little side of coleslaw. I really enjoyed the selection of oldies music that was playing. Unfortunately, they were out of their chowder, but we'll be back to try it next time!

I had the fish and chips and it was alright. My wife had the James Dean burger and said was amazing. Service was friendly and prompt.

This little diner is on the Hwy #3 just outside Chester. Just recently under new management. We sat on the patio. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I shared a two piece fish and chips, it was plenty for the two of us. I would highly recommend this place for anyone in the Chester area or those visiting.

Popped in during a day trip. Quick bite between meals. We had the fish and chips. Quick hits: Chill place, friendly service, good food, and a wonderful breeze through the front door. Bonus: Seems like they’ve got an arrangement with ABC next door, too!

I had the special of the day: pulled pork sandwich, with Bost pasta and potato salad as sides. The sandwich was excellent. The potato salad was good. If you like potato salad I'm sure it was amazing, but I am "meh" about potato salad, so I'll call it solidly good, would eat again. The pasta salad (mayo and Dijon mustard based, and topped with Parmesan cheese!) was fantastic - hands down the best pasta salad I have ever eaten, and I'm only slightly more favorable to pasta salad than potato salad. Service was very fast and friendly. All in all highly recommend!

Lovely food. Excellent, friendly service. Great food. I tried the Aloha burger with pineapple and ham. I skipped the banana peppers. It was delicious and such a new flavour for a burger! David had the special burger of the day, also great. Tetley tea, which is good. Important to me the brand of tea Coffee was very nice as well. Love the ambiance! The Christmas decorations were lovely. Pretty simple looking from the outside but a great experience overall. If we lived here, we would return again and again. Our kind of place!

Food was absolutely delicious - a steal for what we had! The sweet potato fries are the best I’ve had in a long time; they were super crunchy! Recommend the Mushroom Swiss burger.

We had visited the Annapolis Brewing Company next door and one of the food recommendations they mentioned was the Fort Anne Cafe. We ordered a couple of times from the Cafe, and they even brought our meals directly over to the brewery! Great portions and extremely tasty. Highly recommended.

I was told how good the subs here were but didn't try them until today and boy have I been missing out. They are fresh, amazing taste and good value in my opinion. It is a window to order and pick up from so be mindful of this before going in case you're expecting to sit down inside to eat

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I visited this spot today, and it is top tier. I lived in Chicago most my life with numerous amazing food spots to eat, but this place in Lower Sackville exceeded my expectations. Ten out of ten, they’re sandwiches worth every penny.

Consistently delicious and amazing for decades! Brought my 5 yr old for his first time and does food reviews everywhere we go and he doesnt give out 10 out of tens ever. But today was a definite 10! Love you guys!

Decided id give it a try however I went there saw the inside was small and had a couple people waited outside a few minutes. Folks were just waiting on their phones while other folks worked. I opened the door and asked and I quote 'are youse just waiting for your food so I ca....' old dude who later turned out to be the owner snapped at me that 'if you don't want to wait maybe try ordering a head next time. Now what do you want?'. So ya good first impression had me leave.

We went there for breakfast on Friday morning and ordered the three cheese vegetarian omelet. This thing was HUGE! For real ! Tasted like fresh eggs. Very generous portion. Paid 10.95+tax. Family/home-style cooking oriental. Would recommend and will go back when Hungry

Visiting friends in Caribou River, we decided to go out for breakfast. They found this gem in an ad in a local paper. As they had been there several times, we decided to go there and arrived around 9:30am. We managed to get the second last table in the small and very popular restaurant. Our server was very patient with us, as the breakfast menu had a good assortment, which made it hard to choose. The coffee was just the way I like it, hot but not bitter. The meals arrived promptly and were too good to share. Fish cakes were a good size and very flavourful. Don't forget to order some chow! Cheese omelette and scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy! Home fries and toast just the way they should be. They are only open Wednesday to Sunday. Check their website for their hours. If there other menu is as good as the breakfast menu, it is well worth paying them a visit.

Exactly as good as everyone else says it is! We had to wait outside a few minutes because the tables were all full but the wait was worth it. The BEST fish and chips, sandwiches, and desserts. And the friendliest faces in Nova Scotia! Do not miss Barb’s.

Took my husband and mother for supper on Sunday to Barb's Family Diner. Although it is a busy spot, the food was fast, hot and delicious. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. I got the cheeseburger and it was a generous (read HUGE) homemade patty, with a toasted bun. My mother got the fish tips and ended up sharing them with my husband, they both agreed that it was the best fish they'd had in a while. We finished with some Sticky Toffee cake (can't remember the exact name), but it was to die for. A large portion that we were able to split, it was warm and so tasty. No pictures this time, it was too good to stop for. A great little diner that holds a special place in my heart, as my aunts all ran it under the MacLeods banner in the 1990s. Just as good now as it was then! I will be back for sure!

I took my mother out for mother's day to Barb's Family Diner. The food was fantastic everyone really enjoyed everything they had. The price was very affordable $46 for four people to eat. The service was fantastic I have never had such a friendly server in my life. I highly recommend this establishment if you are looking for a casual dining experience that just doesn't seem to exist anymore in our "go, go, go, world".

Burritos, Nachos, and Bowls: Generous portions—this was our initial impression during our first visit. However, after a recent experience, I find myself reconsidering my previous 5-star review. The level of customer service was nothing short of appalling. The staff member had a limited grasp of English, which led to a complete misunderstanding of my order. Worse still, she used her hands to handle the food instead of the appropriate utensils, which was both unhygienic and unprofessional. When I inquired about the disparity, the staff member explained that extra meat would incur an additional charge. This lack of transparency only added to my dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, the quality of the food itself had significantly deteriorated. What had once been flavorful and satisfying was now bland and poorly prepared. Given this experience, I will not be returning. This once-promising establishment has clearly lost its way, and I would not recommend it to others. It’s a prime example of a business that has failed to maintain the standards that initially earned it praise.

I really enjoy ordering from here on uber , but the food is so inconsistent. Half the time you get your order and it tastes really good , the other half they don't pay attention to special instructions like leaving the sour cream on the side and you end up with soggy food.

Had a good experience here. The food was good and light. We had tacos and they were a welcome treat. Staff was experienced and quick to serve as well. We had to wait outside due to covid restrictions, but once inside the process was easy and simple. Would recommend for a quick meal on the road.

Went yesterday for the first time. Had a burrito bowl and it was fantastic! Great portion, everything was fresh and tasted good. Fantastic young guy working the counter. I wish I had gotten his name because he was just great with my friend and I. Polite, talkative and very friendly. I'll definitely go back.

Easy to order online for pick up, was ready when I arrived, pleasant staff, food was very good but a little pricey if you want to eat here often, bill had auto tip that was adjustable when paying online.

went in for soft tacos and was totally disappointed. after watching them put less than a spoon full of meat and a pinch of all other things. it filled less than a quarter of the taco shell. when i said really to the girl servicing me her nose was in the air as if to say your not important. i will never return there. lots of other places around town the value there customers and get what you pay for.
