100% hands down the BEST meal of our trip to Portugal. We ate there twice and I already miss the place. Bella and her family have created something truly special. The lamb is AMAZING and the seafood is so so so fresh and nice. You will not be disappointed

Always an amazing experience to visit Richard, Bella and the team. We always try to get in here for special occasion nights. As always the food and staff service was brilliant.

This was an amazing find. It was fully booked, we called the day before and the owner Bela managed to find us a table for the early sitting. We went with our 2 young kids and they provided the best service for us and them. From the "children's menu off the card which consisted of juicy chicken and steamed veg with a beautiful mushroom sauce " to our exquisite sea bream, lamb and not to mention all the sides. This was THE BEST meal of our trip Thank you to Bela and all the team for being so accommodating. It was a beautiful evening

This is the first time we have been to this restaurant. Although we didn't have a reservation, they very kindly fitted us in. However, I would recommend making a reservation. The service was excellent, explaining all the dishes on the menu and ensuring that the wine was right for you, etc. The food we chose was really excellent as the pictures below show. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have to say it is one of the best restaurants in Alvor. Very delicious food and great wine. The atmosphere is amazing and the whole team/staff is friendly and good organised. I would recommend the lamb shank and the steak but the fish is also very tasty. To finish the lime tart was absolutely fantastic. However, you should make a reservation in advance.

We decided to try this place out based on the reviews and the fact that it always seems to be booked. Was very disappointed overall. The food was nothing like what is described in the reviews. It was bland and tasteless. May be one of the worst lamb shanks I have had. It did not fall off the bone and the sauce was horrible. If you are looking for good flavourful food - this is not the place for you. The portions were also far too much. Based on the clientele in the restaurant, I think it is the amount of food and personal service received from the staff that have boosted the reviews - clearly not the food though.

The burger is sooo good ! Incredible. Everything is fresh and the bread had probably spinash in it, with grains and is was soft and so good. Good prices and very good service. They aloud our small chihuahua to be out on the terrace with us.

Staff are amazing at this beach front resturant, very funny. Loved the food and the house wine is very good. They accommodated to me being vegan easily as well.

Such a gorgeous spot right on the beach, and the staff were actually pretty friendly and professional, but the food was a massive letdown. My razor clam risotto was totally overcooked, bland, and the clams were super rubbery – definitely didn't taste fresh. Then came the linguine vongole. It was swimming in a ridiculous amount of oil (seriously, it pooled at the bottom of the plate!). And to top it off? A whole unpeeled garlic clove just chilling in my pasta. Unacceptable! Honestly, the food completely ruined what could have been a lovely meal. They really need to step up their kitchen game. Avoid if you're going for the food! Stick to the view.

Such an amazing meal! We wandered down from our hotel looking for something a bit more local and laid back and it was perfect. Grilled sea bass was gorgeous, wine excellent. Desserts were delicious and our waitress was poking fun at us because it was so filling we couldn’t finish but she was completely charming. It felt extremely hospitable and friendly, with perfect view and vibe. Highly recommend!

Was not expecting much when arriving here but was pleasantly surprised! We went for lunch and the burgers were delicious and reasonably priced and the service was great! Would recommend as a lunch stop on the beach

Very nice atmosphere and nice orange trees on the back patio. The place seemed busier than usual so we felt a little rushed to order and eat. Food was promising but was on the cold side and a little over cooked. I would give another try on a less busy night.

One of the best meals we had in alvor. Staff were lovely. Our lovely waitress gave my child a lovely toy that was in the lost and found. My child has not put it down since. Thanks so much.

One of the best steaks I've ever had in my life, probably the only one that was served a true medium rare. I'm usually not a huge fan of sauces with my steak as I find they overpower the flavour of the meat but my father-in-law gave me his peppercorn sauce and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicate and complex this one was - it was a strong supporting character rather than taking centre stage of the meal. If I ever find myself in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to come back

Just had the monkfish stew here, amazing, the best meal I've had in a while. Really cool place, get yourselves into the terrace through the back. Best place I've been in Alvor this holiday. We'll doe guys.

Good food and service in a very busy and popular restaurant

The food was delicious. But the waitress apparently didn't want to understand me properly and took more of a tip than agreed upon. After I noticed, she suddenly disappeared. Unfortunately there was no invoice either

If you don’t eat here, you will really have missed out on the BEST MEAL in Alvor! And I visited seven restaurants this trip! I had a fish which was the freshest fish and yummiest I have ever eaten! I think it was called Bream? The grape sauce with pork chop was outstanding! The veggies were cooked to perfection and side dishes plentiful! We did not leave hungry that’s for sure! Desserts were fantastic, atmosphere was so inviting and a great place to be able to converse over wine. Vlad was so welcoming and gave the best attention to our every detail! Kudos to the chefs and Vlad!

The main guy serving us was really good. Very good at his job. The restaurant was very hot, it was a very hot day but the ac didn't cool at all. The food was not very good. The paella we had was tasteless and did not have any saffron at all. The fish was cooked well overall but no sauce and sub-par condiments. Could be a off day. Many others seemed to like the restaurant and the staff.

Hands down our best dinner during our stay in Portugal. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the “Salmão Grilhado com molho bearnẽs” (mind you, the photo doesn’t do it any justice) and the salmon literally melted in my mouth by how soft it was. I strongly recommend ordering this dish. As recommended by our waiter, I paired it with a glass of sauvignon blanc which was so fruity and rich in flavor. As per requested, we were seated on the outside garden and it fully elevated the overall experience. It is beautifully lit and felt so elegant. Please note that we booked our table a day in advanced via “The Fork” app, if you are planning to visit please do so as the place was filled. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!!!

We were genuinely impressed with our dining experience. The service struck a perfect balance—warm and friendly, yet thoroughly professional. The atmosphere was... almost fantastic, and the food was good and reasonably priced. I had hoped to order lamb, but unfortunately, it was only available as a dish for two. My wife truly enjoyed the oysters while I loved the fish soup. A special mention to our gracious host, originally from Greece—his warmth and hospitality added a personal touch that made the evening truly memorable.

The whole experience here was outstanding from start to finish. We were made to feel so welcome by the staff. The food was excellent. This sets a new high bar for me for a restaurant experience.

Really lovely restaurant, we had a table in the back (outdoor patio) which had a great vibe. My eldest son (13) loved the carbonara and the rest of us had pizzas which were good. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

The food was okay but the service was terrible. It took us over two hours to bring us the appetizer and the food. When the food finally came they mixed up the order.

A fantastic spot with good food, very friendly staff and a warm ambience. The meal finished with a complimoshot of port, which was a nice touch. Two small points to improve upon; the burrata starter should have more burrata and the jam on the creme brulee could be better.

My partner fancied pasta while we were away so we stumbled upon this restaurant. We had our baby with us and they were so happy to accommodate helping with the pram etc. The food was amazing, we both went for pasta and was not disappointed!

Large restaurant we were lucky to get a table for 4 outside in the courtyard. Service was slow but the restaurant did look full. We had pizza, ravioli and salmon. Nice food and large portions so we didn't make it to dessert. Shame as the 2 scoops of ice-cream looked amazing and would have fed us all 😃

We visited on a busy evening and while we didn't have a reservation,they were able to find us a table upstairs overlooking the street. The carbonara was delicious as were the pizzas. Service was excellent and our waiter was great at interacting with our son. One of the best restaurants we ate in in Alvor and would highly recommend.

Not expensive and good food. The gnocchis were delicious. Service was a little slow but no fault to our waiter he was running around all night and could've used some help. Rodrigo was very friendly and even offered complimentary porto shots

I had dinner yesterday at this restaurant that looks more like a makeshift, third-world restaurant, a matter of closing your eyes and opening them... recovered from a war... something like that. They are humble and friendly, but that's not enough. The service is slow... slow and slower. The lamb meat is difficult to cut with a knife... In the end, the bill is written by hand on paper, but with an ATM machine. No invoices. A cat hiding with its tail sticking out... We are certainly not in 2025. I am not coming back again for sure.

Always a pleasure dining at Tasty Cuisine. The staff are polite and friendly. We always sit in the terraced area but there is an indoor dining area where the chairs look more comfortable. The food is always excellent! We had poppadoms with the dips to start then pilau rice, mushroom rice, 2 garlic naans, 2 chicken rogan josh and 1 lamb rogan josh, 1 large beer and small bottle of green wine for €58.20. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return.

An amazing little Indian restaurant in Alvor. I've never had a bad meal here, and always make a point of coming back every year we are here. Today we had the chicken pakora to start. My husband had chicken jalfrezi, I had the prawn brunch with pilau rice and a garlic naan. Food was amazing as always!

There's not much to say other than 'Wow.' This restaurant is beyond words regarding its quality of food, incredible and friendly staff, especially the chef, and everything else about it. I've been a resident of Portugal for many years and have never once gone out of my way to review a restaurant. However, for a reason, I had to come and tell you that this is what YOU need to try if you ever go to Alvor, Algarve – it's a must. The best Italian food you can find in Portugal, incredible service, and an extremely good environment.

Best Pizza in the Algarve! We always drive here from Lagos just for this pizza - it’s that good! The owners are Italian, and they know their craft. Our favorites are the Luna Calzone (filled with gorgonzola!) and Napoli, where the anchovies melt like butter. A great surprise: they use homemade sourdough instead of yeast, making the dough even better, healthier and low gluten! Today, we also tried the Tuna Tartare (from the photo) and wow - it blew us away. Never thought tuna could have so much flavor! Highly recommend! Grazie mille!

Good pasta and pizza. But pasta/ice cream sizes can be a hit or miss. Tiramisu tiny portion and not worth it, doesn't taste of much, take away prices are the same as dining in also!

This is real Italian deliciousness! The owners are a father/son team and are wonderful! They opened early for us on a rainy day in March. The margarita pizza is outstanding as is their house red wine and tiramisu! Go to Napoli...you will be very happy!

This place has huge potential. The food is lacking in quality though. Pesto on all our dishes tasted like it was from a jar and the main course needed a lot of seasoning. I would not expect this from a real Italian restaurant. Service was good but we were not told about any specials and learned there were some by overhearing the table next to us.

We had such an amazing time at Napoli that we came back the next night! Their pizza was delicious - the crust was just perfect! We also tried their arrabbiata pasta and it was very flavourful! The staff is warm and responsive! Can’t wait to go again!

Wow ! What an amazing gem of a restaurant! The staff are so kind the view from the restaurant is right on the harbour. We arrived on our first day and chose to eat the local fish. This is the best we have ever tasted. Today we had a mixed seafood platter and my wife told me this is the best meal she's had in her life! If you visit Alvor this is a must if you love seafood.

We returned to the restaurant after our great experience last year and we're not disappointed. Busy with friendly atmosphere. Everything we ate was delicious and very generous in portions. We ordered fish and the waiter was kind enough to point out that it was big enough to share and we didn't need to order one each. Would return here without hesitation. We went twice in the week. Local restaurant, menu mainly based on fish and seafood with good quality. Staff is reasonable although friendly, the outside seating is quite big but often gets crowded and impossible to squeeze pass. Facilities are poor, old restaurant (1890) should do some renovations

Typical traditional restaurant. Tried the seafood cataplana that would easily fill 3 adults. Half way through it we discovered half a crab in the middle! Honest home cooking with fresh ingredients and delicious flavours. Had enough left for next day's lunch.

If you want authentic Portuguese food then this is the place! A lesson in it doesn't need to be complicated for it to be delicious if you use fresh ingredients and know what you are doing with them! Always a great service with a smile we've been two years in a row and we can't wait to be back next year!

Great service, great staff, great chef. We didn’t even look at the menu, the chef sorted out exactly what we needed and nailed it. The grilled sea bass was unreal.

We ordered a whole turbot for the 2 of us, which was about 1.3kg, enough for 3 decent portions, and was absolutely delicious. It was cooked to perfection on the grill outside, served with potatoes and veg. The restaurant is typical Portuguese with basic furnishings but lovely and warm and the service was excellent. We had a large glass of white and red house wine, which were also delicious and great value at 3.50 each. Definitely recommend this place if you like fish. It all looked fresh in the display counter.

Amazing food but service was extremely slow. We had to wait almost 40-50 mins for the main dish to come out. Even waiting for the guy to take us the oder in the beginning took 30 mins.. I get that they are understaffed, but I feel like they do it intentionally. I waved at the waiters, they saw me but ignored and took more time walking around. It is insane

Ok, this is one of the most difficult reviews I've ever written. The food was amazing. No doubt about that. But and it's a big BUT ... honestly, waiting 30mins to take the food order is a joke. Having to wait 1hr 15mins to get food is a joke. Having three tables that arrived 15, 30 and 45mins after us seeing their main dishes served before us is a joke. The table next to us had finished their main course and paid by the time we got ours. And yes, we had starters and so did they. The guy taking the food order clearly felt that we were left behind and didn't bother apologising at all. There was guilt in his face but no apologies. Look, I grew up in this industry. Just say you made a mistake, show a nice gesture and all is forgotten. BUT this didn't happen so it leaves a very sour taste. It was supposed to be a special night as we craved the food in this restaurant. By the time our food arrive our daughter was so tired that she wanted to sit on my lap. Well, it doesn't make for a great dining experience if you have to wait for over one hour and you can't eat your food properly. Oh, and you forgot to serve one of the salads. An evening that was supposed to be special ended up to be a massive disappointment. Please, next time just acknowledge that you messed up. Don't ignore it. It's not worth it. From a five star rating that I've given before (see below), today was a two at most. This is what I said a few years ago: I wanted to describe it as 'just' amazing but my wife said ... simple, straight forward cuisine, they perfected their dishes - amazing!

Great steak. I asked for medium rare but it turned out quite a bit more 'rare' than im used too. They did check that i was ok with it though. It was amazing, definitely one of the best i've ever had. The rest of the family enjoyed their meals, mainly sea food, too. All quite inexpensive, the steak was around fifteen euros. Service was attentive without being over the top. All round great experience.

Great meal....as always. Starters are reasonably priced and of sufficient quantity so as not to kill your hunger. Service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive and the food, as always was delicious. Prices I thought were reasonible given current inflation pressures. Recommended.

13 Gastrobar is probably something you do not want to shout about too load, as you may not get a table on your Next visit, this place is an absolute hidden gem just off the main drag and up a back street, never judge a book by its cover, this place is fantastic as is the food absolutely some of the best tapas I've ever had along with the Sangria x 2 , chefs choice x 4 Tapas, Camenbert Bacon guajons onions, Lamb slow cooked in sauce with couscous and veg, all melted in the mouth so delicious, ombrigado ombrigado

Right 5/5 stars us a bit of B/S but I have to say nothing here is an issue other than your own taste buds! Did I love everything? Nope. Do I think somebody would love what I didn't? Yep!!!! Just go here and enjoy whats put in front of you

We had a really good meal here, the food is very well prepared and presented, with the taste to suit. The setting is very good; you walk through a fairly standard bar affair out into the garden which is very tastefully decorated and gives a unique alfresco dining experience. The staff are friendly and offer helpful tips on the tapas based menu. Have frequently visited this restaurant through the years and it's very consistent.

Truly one of the best meals we have had in a long time. A true hidden gem with the coolest, chilled out vibe in the secret garden. The food was sensational probably the best tapas we've had. So full of flavour everything cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the prawns, bruschetta, chefs couvert (chef choice of 4 tapas). There is a lot to choose from and every dish we had was delicious. The Sangria was also delicious! Creme brulee amazing. We were so focused on eating and the atmosphere we forgot to take photos! The staff were friendly and helful with suggestions, service was excellent. Booked to go back for our wedding anniversary it was that good!

A fantastic meal in a fantastic setting. The secret garden is beautiful and the food just as good. Dessert was also excellent. Afterwards there was some brilliant live music and we enjoyed a few drinks in a terrace above the secret garden. 10 out of 10!

We had lunch there and it was amazing. Even without a reservation, they seated us quickly. All the food was excellent, the oysters were fantastic, and the sardines were delicious. The beer was exceptionally good, an absolute must-try. All the menu options are very healthy. Fully recommended.

Stunning restaurant with amazing sunset. The food was very tasty, was presented the fish of the day which we chose the golden sea bream grilled to perfection. Sangria is a must for those with a sweet tooth. Very refreshing. I highly recommend this place.

Fabulous seafood and seafront location. Bit windy, knocked my husband's beer over but the waitress quickly replaced it for him! Had oysters, tuna steak and razor clams which had been brought in by a man on a moped while we were there. The waitress recommended a fabulous white wine. Everything was delicious especially the Tuna! Yummy! Will definitely return. 😍

A culinary gem and the best of all the front row seaside restaurants in Alvor. Do yourself a favor: Take the Seafood Cataplana for two! I haven‘t had a dish so full of flavor in years - if ever. The cataplana, served in a hot metal pot at your table, has a rich, creamy sauce, great in texture, was loaded with a lot(!) of different seafood and was served with extra rice to soak up the sauce in the end. We didn‘t even need a starter to be absolutely full after finishing the dish. Our waiter Jose „Zé“ was very forthcoming, diligent and knowledgable. To accompany our Cataplana he recommended his favourite vinho verde (from the north of Portugal) „Soalheiro“ which was a great fit. We will come here again. You should too ;)

We came here with a party of seven and they were able to accommodate us conveniently. Beautiful view, friendly staff, delicious meal. One of the best meals that we have had so far on our visit to Portugal. They brought the fish selections right to our table. The grilled octopus was also prepared well. And the fish eaters all enjoyed their meals as well.

I’ve been here with a friend, I love Indian food and I saw a lot of good reviews for this restaurant, so we chose this one. The best thing we could ever done! The food is amazing, as the staff: I didn’t know the names of the dishes but I knew that I wanted something with coconut, so I asked to advice me some dishes with that and explain what’s inside. Everything went exactly as I expected, the chicken Korma that he advised was delicious! And they have a lot of vegetarian choices. This restaurant is very local and typical Indian, absolutely the perfect choice if you want to taste real Indian flavors! Small advice: in the menu there are only the names of the dishes, not what’s inside; maybe a good improvement can be writing the ingredients under the plates! For example, if they have fruits, nuts, which kind of veggies, coconut, yogurt, cream, etc… anyway, if you are in doubt just ask, and they will explain or advice!

We were hankering for some Indian food and went to this restaurant after reading the amazing reviews. Upon entering we found the ambience was really welcoming and good management/staff who welcomed us. We sat down and ordered saag paneer, naan, Dal Makhani and rice, us being vegetarian:). It was absolutely delicious and a very good size portion! Staff members were really polite and friendly. Food arrived quickly and was fresh and piping hot. Super delicious food and must visit if you are in town you won't be disappointed. They nailed it with the authentic Indian taste. Best Saag Paneer and Dal Makhani we had outside India! Good authentic Indian dishes. Spiciness level is manageable if you regularly eat spicy. Service was very nice our hosts explained and answered all our questions about various dishes. Definitely would recommend and we will come back. We tried: - samosas with chicken (a bit dry, not their best dish) - puri with prawns - very very good! - papadums with sauces - lababdar chicken (very tasty, a bit too sweet for my taste) - butter chicken - lady fingers - paratha bread - and peshavari bread (with coconut) - beware this I a sweet bread. Very good though.

Fantastic food with great service! The seekh kebab and samosas were good but the main dishes were better. The peshawari naan was fantastic and the biriyani was also tasty. Highly recommend.

Arrived in Alvor on Monday, after a bad experience at the airport, lost luggage, missing transfers and having to pay extra for an uber, we were a bit fed up. Decided "let's just go for an Indian" belive me this is not just an Indian. I had a Vidaloo, hot enough to make my eyes water but not so hot you couldn't taste it. The Mrs balti was also packed with flavours. We walked out of there feeling much better. Thank you for a beautiful start to our holiday. We will be back before leaving.

If you love meat and you find yourself in Alvor, you must visit this place. Every choice of meat will be the right choice, you won't regret it. A sweet old style atmosphere will add to the appetite just enough, soft music and other guests only supported the feeling of being in a family like classic ( but not classy) restaurant. The staff is very pleasant and really know what to offer. Also it location is just perfect for a quiet dinner. Myself, I will come back there to have dinner.

Second time i was there and again it was great! So far, the best ribs i had in Portogal. The waiter is a great guy who served us also last time, proffesional and super nice! Go there, enjoy good meet and tip the waiter 😉

Found this little gem. Staff are really friendly and welcoming 🙂 Food was fantastic. Ribs with bbq sauce. The meat just fell of the bone.chips and side dishes delicious. Sea bake dish the size of the salmon and cod were big chunks . Limocello cheesecake was to die for With definitely be going back before we return home 😍

We both enjoyed a superb meal at Atascado last night. We had never visited before. Staff were very friendly and we were seated upstairs in the terrace area. We opted for padron peppers to start, my partner chose the sea bass and prawns while I went for the pork cheeks, delightfully served with sweet potato chips and rice. Both dishes were delicious. If in Alvor I would definitely try to eat here. Highly recommend.

My family came to the restaurant for a meal after my sisters wedding. The food was incredible and the staff were so friendly and attentive the entire night. I would 100% recommend for you to go and have dinner, the terrace is stunning as well!

We dined at aTASCAdo in Alvor tonight. It was superb ! All the staff were cheerful, helpful and genuine. We dined on the upstairs terrace with great views of a wonderful sunset. Our cataplana was excellent, the apple pie dessert melted in the mouth and the wine was lovely. The bill was well below $100 for the 2 of us. We will definitely return !!!

Passed by this restaurant last night and went in on speck. We hadn't made a reservation but the host found us a table. We had a beautiful meal here. The ribs were falling off the bone and the vegetables went really well with the meat. The sea bass stuffed with prawns was beautiful also. The service was excellent and the decor was amazing. Gorgeous food, atmosphere and staff. Definitely one to return to. Too many delicicious items to choose from the menu. The pescaterian in our group went for the tuna steak, which was fabulous. The starters, main courses and desserts were all faultless. Oliver, our host, was friendly, informative and professional and really funny when describing how great everything tasted. 10 out of 10

What an amazing restaurant. Small but fantastic. The food here is some of the best flavours and produce I’ve eaten. We dined here on 2 occasions during our trip and both times the experience was fantastic. Oysters, John Dory to Cerviche all delicious. 100% will return. A local wine list with a beautiful selection

We were fortunate to have a table in the window to watch passers by as we indulged in a most enjoyable meal. The starters of chorizo, bread and a single oyster (my first ever) were delicious. Our main courses of tuna steak for me and sea bass for my husband were cooked to perfection and the desserts, offered as samples rather than from a menu, were wonderful. We enjoyed a bottle of white wine too and left feeling thoroughly spoiled - and very full. The staff were brilliant and I’d highly recommend eating here, our meal was one of the best I’ve had for quite a while.

The food was excellent, we had the octopus and the red snapper as mains, and the oysters and a tuna tartar for starters. The wine selection is very unique and has a huge variety. This is a Team wich lives for hospitality!! Absolute 10 out of 10 if you are in the Algarve region you need to come here to eat. Came here for date night. The service was good. They had one nice sounding vegan option, which is why we chose here. Vegan option is tofu, veg and chickpea puree and was very good! I enjoyed it alot. No house vinho verde, which was a shame so we got a bottle which was nice but more than we really wanted. My husband had the Portuguese steak which he enjoyed, he said the potatoes were very nice. Unfortunately no vegan options for dessert, which was extremely disappointing. Otherwise it was a lovely meal.

Everything was perfect from beginning to end! Pedro first welcomed us, followed by Augusto, who continued serving us. Both were very considerate of our choices and extremely cordial throughout the evening. For starters, we had the ameijoas and chorizo, both were simply delicious. For mains, we tried the Bife à Portuguesa and the rib eye, which were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The wine selection was excellent, and even the way that they presented the dessert options was great, the team kindly presenting the four options available. The food, service, and overall atmosphere were outstanding. Highly recommend!

Wow, we have had good food in our road trip in portugal, but this one was one of the best ones. I had cheese with jam and bread with cheese butter, sausage spread and olive with sald, everything was so good. We finished the meal with cheesecake that was devine. All the desserts looked good. Highly recommend.

We booked through TheFork because we were specifically craving authentic paella—and wow, did this place deliver. Restaurante Villa Velha ended up being one of the best dining experiences of our entire trip. The paella was hands-down the best we’ve ever had. But what really set the experience apart was the chef himself—a warm, passionate Spaniard who took the time to explain every detail behind the dishes. We learned that the pata negra was aged for 3 years, and the razor clams came from a local cove where the salt levels in the water are unusually high—giving them a more intense flavor and delicate size. The Catalan cream and cheesecake were also exceptional—light, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can feel the heart in this place, from the food to the people. If you’re looking for an authentic, memorable meal while in the Algarve, don’t hesitate to book this place!

We had a super meal at Villa Velha a few weeks back. It's a nice varied menu and interesting to see pad Thai sit along side options such as steak and roast suckling pig. Service was really good, attentive with being over intrusive. The restaurant was full with plenty of noise and atmosphere. Villa Velha is a welcome addition to Alvor and we'll definitely be returning. Highly recommend.

Thank you Alberto and team ! Had an outstanding meal with attentive service and smile on your lovely terrace... The cod fish carpaccio was so light and divine in taste, refreshing. My filet of Argentine beef with pepper sauce was so fresh and melting in the mouth, the spare ribs with the exotic coconut twist were a delight. The Vallado Prima Douro white wine a gem: the taste of a Muscatel but dry ! Unbelievable. We will return.

Found this gem through positive reviews so called and booked a table. Welcome and service were fantastic and friendly and it was clear they had a sense of pride in the restaurant. We ordered the prawn and crab croquettes followed by the suckling pig and lamb shank. Both were superbly presented and tasted great. Would definitely recommend.

We had some amazing food here. I think the prawn and crab croquettes are the best I have ever had. We also had the squid ink paella which was incredible. The waitresses were very friendly. A point to note was that we had our 4 month old baby with us and there are no baby changing facilities.

Absolutely excellent food served here...a.sharing platter is a great way to try a few different things at once, generous fresh burgers and Delicious salads prepared with a 'certain touch'. Cannot fault anything. They deserve all the success in the world.. and the queues at lunch time are worth the wait!

Very friendly owner who assists you in choosing a meal if you can't decide. We had a variety plate and a salad with different kinds of fish. The "Tuna Ham" was definitely the highlight for us. The "fish-Pate" was something completely new for us, and we really liked it. On top of that, there is a huge variety of canned fish you can choose from to buy and bring back home. Some of the cans are beautifully wrapped and are an eye catcher.

The food here was delicious. Portions were great, prices were suuuper reasonable. The area is knows for its canning history so it was nice to get to experience some of that. The bruschetta was to die for, as was the Tuna ham. I’d come back here 100x over. Staff were polite, service was quick, and while the restaurant was small and busy, it didn’t feel too crowded.

We enjoyed some good food in this premium and pretty snack bar. Focussed pretty much on tinned fish it has a huge range and a simple menu. You can use the menu or choose a tin and they will serve this to you. Very reasonable prices.

What a cool place! Every dish is like a gourmet meal, made with the canned fish on the shelf. The tuna salad was so fresh and the sampler plate had so many unique presentations and flavors. The wine was so cheap! Definitely making another visit here. The prices were very reasonable. Edit: had to come again and try different dishes. The grilled sardines and anchovies were so good!!

The food was delicious. I had the sampler plate that came with mackerel, spicy sardines, pate and tuna ham. I was pleasantly full at the end of my meal. The service was very quick and they explained everything to me. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in trying tinned fish. They were also very welcoming to a couple that wanted to have some dishes made with no fish.

Charming little Portuguese grill restaurant just off the beaten track, welcoming and friendly service, food was super fresh and excellent. If i can make one small criticism, i ordered the prawns in garlic and piri piri starter, i couldn't taste any spice and the prawns had not been de-veined, unfortunately i had to clean these out myself but was very delicious otherwise. Personally, i expected and would have preferred a bit more spice. Great restaurant overall, would eat here again and recommend.

The best meal so far in Alvor, this very welcoming place serves the best food in Alvor, their chicken piri piri is incredibly and they look after you so well, extra little touches like boiled olive oil with garlic cloves and bay leaves makes this a must visit restaurant.

Have eaten here and enjoyed our meals multiple times, but the Valentine’s Special tasting menu really topped it off. My husband is coeliac, and our server and the chef ensured that he had gluten free substitutes for a few of the items that weren’t gluten free. All of our food was delicious and gorgeously presented, and our server provided a very friendly and efficient service. The decor has also been improved over time, leading to a very cozy dining experience.

We prebooked the golf along with the meal set from their website, not expecting such a high level of service from Noa and unbelievable food. I was unsure on what to order and Noa stepped in to the rescue and her recommendations were out of this world. The presentation and quality of the food was surprisingly some of the best we've eaten. Make sure to try the fried shrimp and the tenderloin steak, with truffle mash... wow. Also note the 3 drinks included on the set menu are not for the golf side, just an FYI.

We came here for dinner with a big group of 20 people, and everything was excellent! The café has both indoor and outdoor seating, which was very convenient for us. We ordered a wide variety of dishes – appetizers, fish, meat, and risotto – and everything was delicious. I personally had the shrimp risotto, and it was wonderful. Overall, the food is really tasty, the atmosphere is nice, and we can definitely recommend this place!

I went for mini golf and dinner. We purchased the dinner package which includes a round of mini golf, 3-course dinner, and three drinks each. The mini golf was well layed out and fun. This can definitely be enjoyed by both adults and kids. We were finished in around 40 mins. We then went for dinner. Being from the UK, we are used to food attached to attractions being very basic. However, this was certainly not the case. The food here was excellent! The plates were tasty, featured various different elements, and were very well presented. Service was impeccable and the vibes were really relaxed and inviting. All round a great night out for couples, friends or family.

We came here for the steak and it didn’t disappoint. 3 steaks cooked to perfection with the tastiest sides that complimented the steaks so well. Really enjoyed the cocktails too. This was our first night of this trip to Alvor. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Wow, we came for mini golf with my grandparents, as we remembered it for golf land. We tried the food to find out what all the fuss was about and it was absolutely fantastic. Everything came out with a great look and they tasted even better ! Our waiter Louie was attentive and very well mannered. The four of us were left very surprised by this great experience. The only downside was we came on a quieter night, which leaves not much detail for our atmosphere rating. Very well done, couldn’t recommend more ! 👏🏻

Our dinner started with an exceptional waiter, he made recommendations that were superior. His service was impeccable. He paid attention to every detail. I regret not getting his name. He recommended the rack of lamb for my husband. It was amazing and artistically displayed. He recommended Oso Buco risotto for me and I have to say I was hesitant. I’m so glad I took His recommendation it was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We coordinate a Sunday lunch on occasion with a small group of fellow expats. This one was at Yama Sushi in Alvor. Tucked away in a condo complex with indoor and outdoor seating. Nice decor and comfortable, casual seating. The food was very good although it came out very slow probably due to the size of our group. We enjoyed the crispy Tempura shrimp, the California roll was not quite California but very well prepared. Mary had the Japanese noodles which were good except the chicken was a little dry. Others in the group also enjoyed the Poke bowls and the Teriyaki chicken. 4.4/5.0

One of the best Sushi experiences I ever had. Every dish was perfect: miso soup, wakame & edamame (they were sautéed in some sauce and exceptionally delicious). Those starters were really cheap compared to other sushi restaurants, drinks also. The sushi itself was of highest quality and perfect as well, but really pricy (even the Hosso Maki’s were double the price of Maki’s in other restaurants). Overall a 5-star-experience, but overall on the pricy edge.

Had an incredible experience on our visit to Yama. Let’s start off with the fishes because they are sooooo good & fresh. Salmon literally tasted like butter! We had a miso soup, tempura who which was delicious & crunchy, various nigiri, sashimi mix and ura ebi rouge roll. WOW! Everything tasted incredible! 10/10 experience. Also wanted to highlight our server Samoi for being so attentive and friendly! Definitely recommend

We had a delicious dinner with a starter, the miso soup and the spring rolls were delicious and then we had the sushi platter, which included a variety of sushi. It was very special sushi and very tasty, something we had never had before. The Japanese beer Kirin was also very tasty. The service was very friendly. We can recommend the restaurant.

We had an amazing dinner here after reading the reviews on google and they were not wrong. The food was absolutely delicious and so flavourful, I would highly recommend the Jumping Duck dish as your main. Service was fast, the waiters were very attentive and the overall value was great. My partner and I had a starter, main and cocktails each and it came to €75. The main dishes were also very generous in size.

We arrived here as per a recommendation of local bartender. We arrived late at night, but we were treated as though they were going to be open for hours. A great variety of fresh Asian cuisine. Try the Tom Kha soup, it was excellent. I like mine spicer, but it's still awesome. I tried the Wonton soup, which was light and fresh. Nice selection of cocktails and drinks. We tried the fried wontons, the dipping sauce was delicious. We both had the Pad Thai he had shrimp, and I had the chicken. Great location of the restaurant row in Alvor. They accept credit cards. English is widely spoken.

Staff was so polite and attentive, and the food was decent. The cuisine is "fusion" so don't expect that it's exactly what you would expect a typical Thai dish to taste like. I would have preferred the Pad Thai to be less saucy but there's nothing wrong with it. Soup was a bit salty but the red curry chicken was spot on. It's still quite good and worth a visit. The food was delicious! A slightly longer wait for the main than expected, but it was worth it as it was super fresh and tasty. The staff were lovely and attentive.

We love the coastal walk from Portimao into Alvor. We found the sports Cafe about three years ago. We have eaten here a few times at lunch time. As soon as we walk in we are made to feel at home. The staff there are so friendly and even when we haven’t seen a guy behind the bar for a year or so he still remembers what we drink. It’s a great place to catch up on the sports on the televisions too.

Nice bar seated on the main strip. I had the mariachi burger consisting of a toasted bap nicely cooked beef pattie with jalapeños guacamole cheese and nachos all cooked spectacular Nicely cooked fries and a bottle of the local brew Super Bock. My wife had the vegetarian nachos with guacamole and cheese whizz. We also had a plate of southern fried chicken tenders, which is very soft chicken with tasty breadcrumbs. Loads of cocktails and other drinks on the menu. Very helpful staff member. Well worth a visit when on the strip.

This place is actually quality for the money. The burgers are huge and they're really good. Amazing wings too. You get like 10 wings and a pint for a tenner I mean come on what's not to love

Fun place to hang out. The atmosphere is a mix between bar, club, discoteca, and casual hangout. Crowd seems to be aged mostly 30-40.

3 restaurants side by side, same ownership so similar menu items. Tried a new menu item called Chicken Mac n cheese. Wasn't that good. Gave the server and supervisor feedback. They said they appreciated the info and would convey our input to management. The ribs were tasty but a bit overdone. Fries were great. Drinks were great. Service was awesome. Love the location and they have karaoke 3x per week. Outdoor patio is also nice to enjoy the music and people watch. Pizza and gelato come from next door at Pepperino.

If you're looking for a great place to watch sports around Lagos, this is it. The food menu isn't much and they just get it from the places next door, but it's solid. The street it is on is quiet during the day but gets lively and fun at night. Have fun!

I was here in 2009 for the second Lions rugby test match against South Africa and I was there for Rory McIlroy winning the Irish Open for the second time in September 2025. Not once was I brutally attacked. Great pub, good drink selection, very cheap, and an all round good time.

Great irish/ english pub. The live music is great craic. I only had a portion of onion rings to eat at the venue.they were delicious and only 4.50euro. Drinks great price 2 aperols were 12 euro and good measures

Very quiet this time of year. In fact it looks dead. No atmosphere. Adjacent restaurant ran by same owners is really good so probably better to sit there of an evening. The owners are very nice people. This bar was far better year's ago as the English owners were very nice. The husband was a musician and so there was entertainment.

The staff were more interested in their social media on their phones than concentrating on their clients. I had to advise the staff that the ladies toilet had no paper and that there was no hand towels after washing my hands, the soap was also extremely low. We had 3 pints of Super Bock and 1 glass of Green Wine. The bill came to €10.60. I was a little surprised, as I had looked at their FB page, and it was advertising a pint of lager during happy hour as €1? So you can imagine my disappointment, and when I asked about it, the young lady told me that was “years ago”. Either they need to update their page on FB to reflect the new prices OR honour the advertised price on FB. We live in Alvor permanently, and to be honest, this is the first and last time we will visit this establishment….

Lovely bar with a nice waiter very good vibes and a good place to chill out and have some drinks

This is a like pub & bar to go if you like live music, in the summer warm nights of Alvor in this quiet private terrace by the pool you can have privacy and be away from the crowded center, with soft drinks all night long and a open space around.

Good food, especially for the price. Decent value for money in general, accompanied by friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for a snack or a couple of drinks!

Best beer near our apartments, most you will pay is €1.50, staff are great, sadly lacking lively entertainment like the other bars in the area

The tunes were solid Bob Marley, which alone makes this 5 star, but the drinks were outstanding, great value for money and the bar staff were very pleasant.

The menu offers a variety of dishes from the nepali cuisine. I decided to try the Thali set, which included rice, dal, a variety of curries, pickles, and papad. The food was simply amazing - the flavors were authentic and reminded me of home-cooked meals. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was served fresh and hot.

Have to agree with the last review mostly. The food was pretty good and the front of house very attentive. However apart from not doing the cooking, she was doing everything else. Seating people, taking the orders, pouring drinks and delivering them and then delivering the food when it was ready. The service wasn’t fast but understandable with one member of staff out front and two cooking. Overall would recommend the food but probably best reserve a table as it’s not that big and is full an hour after opening. I hope they get over the problem they’re having recruiting staff

This is a new restaurant open in Alvor only opened a month ago. It is absolutely amazing the flavours were outstanding very reasonably priced what a lovely evening we had the owners were delightful too we have already booked again for next week. If you are visiting Alvor this restaurant is a must, thank you for a great evening.

Nice place, quite good prices. I took pasta and wasn’t convinced with the pasta quality. Sauce was pretty good 👍 lasagne 5/5. Highly recommended garlic bread with bacon and cheese as well as olives. 🫒

Very nice simple pizza. Perfect for lunch or a snack on your return from the beach. The crust of the pizzas we got was very similar to a wrap. Quiet crispy and flaky but very nice nonetheless.

A good selection of meals for both vegetarian and meat eaters. Food looked amazing when it arrived but unfortunately once my daughter started her dish which was spaghetti al pesto she found it was sat in loads of oil at least a third of the bowl was full. This is a dish she's ordered at other Italian restaurants and has never had this issue, she left most of it. The other dishes we ordered we enjoyed.

Great place went here in 2016 for the first time and returned this⁸ September 2024, pleasantly surprised how the food was just as good, great value for money and they make a great campari spritz, the Tiramisu was small to share but very tasty indeed, they will also do you hslf and half pizza, (as i don't eat much pizza but enjoy a couple of slices!!!!) great night had here, we sat outside on a lovely evening. We came here for lunch on our first day in alvor - it did not disappoint! Absolutely fantastic service by a friendly and helpful team who engaged with us and our family. The food is exquisite and freshly cooked - they had everything we needed for our child too with baby seat, baby changing etc. Highly recommended!

The food was amazing. Carbonara was made with smoked ham. Something bloody delicious that I can’t remember the official name for had muscles, prawns and a big prawn on top. The crepe was sweet and refreshing and the tiramisu had that perfect combination of coffee and booze. The added grated chocolate on top gives the tiramisu an added crunch. I would recommend a visit.

Excellent service, pizza and priced! Another visit in July 2023. We didn't book and were lucky to get a table inside. Prices are very reasonable which may be why it's so busy so book if you can. Oh, I should add that the pizza we ordered was cut and served with every other piece moved to a second plate as we were sharing the pizza....very thoughtful. Highly recommended.
