Food is excellent, sea bass was freshly cooked and pork rib grilled to an excellent state. The beach view from balcony was fantastic and we took quite a lot photos. The service is first class. Just the price was a little bit pricy. Better to leave some time for parking the car at station car park if you come over by car.

Beautiful restaurant with a view! Very lucky to hav a sea view seat, seafood is fresh and taste great! Love the crabmeat salad, taste refreshing, I enjoy the mussels a lot, perfectly cooked and the white wine sauce is on spot! Our waiter is very nice to make sure we have been looking after! Every dish at Porthminster Beach Cafe (Restaurant) was superb. Squid, pork cheek, lobster and cod, fresh and faultlessly cooked and presented with wonderful friendly professional service (thankyou Shaun, you were wonderful). Brilliant restaurant with amazing views. Highly recommended. Thankyou.

We booked a table for dinner at Porthminster Beach Café and were seated by the wall. I asked if we could move to an empty window table, but was told it had been booked and the guests would be arriving shortly. However, by the time we left, the table was still empty. It felt like they could have let us sit there with the understanding that we’d need to vacate by a certain time. The food was fine, but nothing particularly special. Overall, a bit disappointing given the reputation, price and location.

Porthminster Beach Café in St Ives delivers a superb dining experience in a stunning beachfront setting. A 10/10 experience, without hesitation. We visited for my wife’s birthday and were impressed by the warm, attentive service, complete with a birthday card on the table and a candle in her dessert. The highlight was the catch of the day. Red Gurnard, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. It was, without question, the best piece of fish I’ve ever had so far. While prices are premium, the quality of the food, thoughtful service, and breathtaking views make it well worth it.

I enjoyed my first burger (peppercorn sauce & blue cheese special) so much that I had to go back on my final evening in St Ives to have the chorizo and feta! The deserts were amazing too - best cookie dough and bannna split. Very cool place!

we were lucky to find one of the few tables at dinner time. one of the best burgers i’ve had, juicy and with a tasty bun. i also liked the chips and special salt flakes. they have kids options and the staff was helpful in choosing from the menu. i had the burger with chili aioli and liked!!!

Amazing burgers, one of the best ones I had and very creative flavours. Also, their onion rings are gigantic and crispy! Lots of gluten free and vegan options, we had to go back twice in our short trip to St Ives, too good!

Don't make the mistake of thinking that the food Blas offers is "just" a burger. They are about as far away from a burger-joint burger as is possible to get; The food here is in a class of it's own. I think it's good value given the quality of the food - not cheap but worth every penny. The best burger I've ever had.

AMAZING. That sums it up really, no complaints at all about this banging burger joint. Went here two weeks in a row on our holiday to St Ives, my partner had the special with beef both times and said they were some of the best burgers he's had. I was impressed that all of their burgers could be made vegetarian and vegan. The beef / bean / chicken way of doing things is great, makes for a less stressful ordering experience. It's also nice to be able to eat the same things as everyone else as a vegetarian, instead of sitting there with your sad salad or the dreaded falafel wrap when your mates dig into their gourmet burgers. Also that cookie dough dessert you're not sure you should get? Get it. You won't regret it. Love their commitment to being green as well, karma drinks are a personal fave anyway and always happy to see them on a menu. The GuacaNOle was awesome and I'll be experimenting with making something like that myself! Highly recommend, don't miss out on this gem when you visit St Ives.

The burgers were quite good, but a little overpriced for what they are. Even the most basic option is nearly £20, with cheese (admittedly very tasty) an extra £2, and only a small portion of chips on the side. Similarly, the signature GuacaNOle was a fun idea, but nothing too distinctive in flavor, and the tortillas were a bit ordinary and far too few for the price.

Ambience and service is great but their burgers are way overpriced for what they serve. And they also don’t have beers on tap :(

I had a late lunch here and was seated without any difficulty. The restaurant wasn't crowded for a weekend winter afternoon. The food was decent; the burger was cooked well, and the garlic parmesan chips were average. The staff were wonderful throughout our visit. Most noteworthy was the relaxing ambiance and the amazing view. I would happily dine here again.

Thank you so much, highlight of my stay in St Ives! I was around for a bit longer and came back a few times as I loved the burgers (dirty disco was the favourite), and the staff were super nice ☺️ so why go elsewhere? they recognised me already my second time, and were very accommodating despite me travelling alone (which is not welcome everywhere in the busy summer season) and never booking ahead. Picture doesn't do the burger justice, got to try!

After visiting St Ives we thought we would give the Hub a try. We are so glad we did as it was so good. It was that good we had to visit for a second time. The staff were so friendly and looked like they actually enjoyed working there. It may have had something to do with the great atmosphere the place had. The food was spot on. Burgers were one of the best we've had, and the giant onion rings were so tasty too. We also loved the choice of the £5 cocktails. The Pina colada was lovely and strong. Thank you and we will definitely be back.

We stopped by here on a Sunday evening after walking a section of the South West Coast path. We hadn’t booked but were lucky to get a sea view table. The restaurant was busy but the staff created a relaxed atmosphere. Food was good and the service excellent!

Come across this place back in December as we wanted to visit on New Year’s Eve but unfortunately it was fully booked. While being on holiday I thought it’s a great time to visit as I’ve had to wait a long 8 months to come back. I can tell you now it was definitely worth the wait! Food was incredible, definitely took us by surprise. The smashed cheeseburger was delicious, the classy chick was decent, the mutha clucka dirty fries were great. Sauces were decent, drinks were refreshing. Unfortunately the chicken tenders were a let down but other than that, food was spot on. Service was quite good, open and honest about the 45 minute wait time for food before being seated which I appreciated and respected. Definitely worth the 45 minute wait tho, we were well looked after and staff were very friendly and welcoming. I noticed they must be short staffed so we didn’t mind. Would highly recommend to those who love burgers. Definitely worth a shout, the cheeseburger is a go to.

Went after 7pm, was partly empty but took a long time for drinks and food to come out. Masala chips weren't that great and the plant burger was average, like every other burger I had. Loved the milkshake and the servers were very nice to us. Music was playing and doors open to let in a breeze so enjoyable experience overall.

Given a table sticky and dirty. Food was okay although paid £14 for a burger on it’s own without chips, absolute liberty! The manager was rude and abrupt- told a family member who has a unique dieting requirement (eating disorder) that she couldn’t eat there with us-We were a party of 8 and couldn’t enjoy our experience afterwards.

Great little restaurant for the meat lovers. The food was delicious, good sized portions and it’s reasonably priced for the area. Only downside was service was quite slow (and it wasn’t busy) and they got a couple of things wrong with the order. But overall would definitely recommend.

Pre-booked a table for Friday evening which is probably necessary for peak season as it's a very popular restaurant. Staff were very friendly, and very attentive to those with nut and gluten allergies - providing separate menus with the items highlighted to avoid or to choose from. Food arrived promptly and was presented really well - good portion sizes too. We had the flat iron steak, sea bass and a brisket burger. All of which were delicious and cooked really well. Definitely a restaurant for a bit of a treat as it is a little pricey for some items, like £5 for a side of sweet potato fries. We'd happily come back again when visiting St Ives.

We ate here last night and we hadn't booked and thankfully were able to get a table. Plenty of gluten free options,I had half a rotisserie chicken, fries and a side of green vegetables. The chicken was perfect, tasty & moist, the greens were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Fries were lovely,(actually could have done with sharing fries). My husband had a double burger with fries and coleslaw,also very tasty and daughter had Mac & Cheese with brisket which she reported as been very delicious. We had one Coke and one beer and the bill came to £77 including service. Very reasonable,food outstanding and service good. Definitely recommend and would return.

Great place, food excellent, staff friendly and efficient. Place was full so there was a nice buzz about the place. I had the double burger with bacon & cheese and a side of fries (main meal didn’t come with fries). Also managed to get a table upstairs by the window with a nice view of the ocean which was an added bonus!

From the advertised board outside we liked the sound of what they were offering, im glad not many places these days are missing vital parts to your meal and then expecting you to add them as 'sides' which is what we have here, i liked the idea of the rotisserie chicken but that was literally just the meal, if you wanted chips you have to order those separately, luckily I ordered the fish and chips from the lunch menu and im please to say included chips, well, a few toothpicks, my wife ordered garlic bread and as she was eating it she couldn't taste any garlic so i had a try and we were definitely served toast, most of the staff we saw had a face on them and wasn't very helpful or welcoming, but they did remove the garlic bread from the bill so i cant really say wasnt helpful, they were dog friendly so that's a good thing I guess, so yeah, thanks guys

AWFUL FOOD AND SERVICE!! We visit The Firehouse every year and every year it gets worse!! I had booked well in advance of our holiday and disappointed would be the understatement of the century. My husband and I both ordered the mixed grill…..we were asked how we would like the steak cooked, both medium rare! Well the most underwhelming looking dish arrived. The meat was so overcooked salty and just awful. The so called rump steak was more like a minute steak on my plate and my husband couldnt even cut into his let alone chew it. We called the waiter over, who then came back and said I don’t really know what we can do for you, it’s how it comes from the butcher and there’s nothing we can do!! And that was it we were left……… My husband then went over to ask for the manager who then told us the same thing about the butcher and that they didn’t have extras. Just shocking service. We will not return to this place again.

Fantastic Experience at The Rum & Crab Shack! We had an absolutely brilliant time at The Rum & Crab Shack! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome – their friendly and attentive service really set the tone for a wonderful afternoon. And the food? Simply delicious! We enjoyed every bite. Plus, we were lucky enough to get a table by the window, and the sea view was just stunning, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. Highly recommend The Rum & Crab Shack for anyone looking for great food, a warm welcome, and beautiful scenery! We can't wait to go back.

Wow – what an experience! The food was absolutely amazing. My sister said the ribs (coated in a rich BBQ and rum sauce) were the best she’s ever had. I went for the jerk chicken, and my wife had fish and chips – everything was fresh, full of flavour, and perfectly cooked. The drinks didn’t disappoint either. With such a huge rum selection, happy hour was definitely enjoyed! A big bonus for us was how warmly our two large dogs were welcomed – that alone makes a huge difference. Add in the breathtaking beach view, and it all made for an unforgettable visit. The staff were outstanding, very friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back, and I can’t recommend this place enough!

Absolute gem of a place staff were super friendly and accommodating we had what must be the best table in the restaurant overlooking the harbour. Cocktails were out of this world and the biggest list of rums to choose from I've ever seen. The bread is baked fresh in store daily something they are proud of and rightly so. We had the crab and haddock burger and the rack of ribs, the presentation was as good as the food tastes to die for. Portion size was very generous and couldn't finish it all. Couldn't recommend this place enough and will go every time we're in St ives

Staff amazing, atmosphere amazing. They don't make hot coffee but I have tasted an amazing iced coffee. Devilish whitebait, we were expecting to be spicy hence the name, chowder was a let down not my personal taste, lobster ok. Food wise there is still work to do.

The food here was amazing. Massive tasty portions and my Dad said he they did the best ribs he has ever eaten. Despite being very busy, we were able to get a table after just a short wait. They also had a good selection of drinks.

We came here and had rum & crab. My expectations of having rum & crab at The Rum & Crab Shack were thoroughly met. It was fun picking out a random shot of rum to try from their large selection of rum - over 100 rums apparently. I opted for a cherry flavoured rum which went down a little too easily. I wished I could try some more, but unfortunately couldn't because I was driving. The staff were super friendly & knowledgeable about the rums on offer. They seemed perfectly happy to make recommendations if asked. I guess they are also knowledgeable about crab, but I did not ask for any crab-related advice. They were very accommodating for our dog. We were able to choose a suitable table out of those that were available, which was a nice touch. The food was good - presented in the style of a seafood shack, also as expected! Would definitely recommend this place if you like rum & crab.

Definitely a 5-star experience. This restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. Each dish is boldly crafted by a chef with a deep understanding of flavor balance. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the use of lemon elevates the dishes beautifully. The service is warm and welcoming—our server made us feel right at home. I started with the mussels, which were rich and creamy, yet well-balanced. The accompanying bread was a perfect match. I also recommend the linguine—it had a subtle Asian twist with wonderful crab flavors. The curry dish was an interesting interpretation of South Asian cuisine; I appreciated the creative use of sesame, though the rice was slightly overcooked for my taste. Overall, I highly recommended the place - especially impressive for a sightseeing town like St Ives.

Really quiet and welcoming restaurant right on the harbour, with a nice view across the water. The service was friendly and fast. The food was delicious and the seafood fresh. We had fish and chips (gluten-free), the catch of the day, seafood linguine, and the monkfish curry. I also got tenderstem broccoli as a side, they were crunchy and well seasoned. We only ordered soft drinks and a couple of beers, and it came to almost £40 each. I’d really recommend the place!

Lovely quiet spot in the heart of St Ives, would recommend. Food was 4/5. We had the oysters, it was fresh, however, we would much prefer to add the toppings ourselves as we find the ponzu and shallots were overpowering the natural flavour of the oysters. We had fried squid as our starter, light and crispy battered squid with refreshing salad. I had the fish and chips and they were good. Light and crispy batter. Chips were fluffy on the inside, crunchy on the outside. My partner had seafood linguine and it was a bit too salty. Desert was disappointing. We had the sticky toffee pudding, the pudding itself was dry on the inside. There wasn’t enough toffee sauce provided.

We came with our one year old daughter & 2 dogs and they were so accommodating. Views were wonderful. Food was incredible! Fully recommend the beef roast. Even the children’s menu had fab choice. First timers here and won’t be the last!

BEST CHOWDER EVER This is probably the best seafood chowder we have ever had and we’ve eaten at over 20 Michelin star restaurants worldwide. Tasty, full of fish, Imaginative with lots of shellfish, and a beautifully cooked piece of cod with crispy skin on the top. Cooked today by chef Michael Best £20 lunch meal I’ve had in months. The view is amazing and the service faultless MUST GO TO IN ST IVES

Well worth visiting. Stairs to a first floor. We sat on the balcony, giving us a terrific view of the harbour, albeit that comes with the usual seagull dangers. Staff were pleasant. Food was good. Given a 4 due to the greens being undercooked and inedible. Would recommend.

We stumbled across this place during our stay in st Ives and we were so glad we did. The food was amazing, the biggest burgers we'd ever seen! Everything we ordered was delicious and well presented, the staff were all super friendly and gave great service. Would definitely go back.

Great pub-restaurant with a good selection of food and beers. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. We had a small communication issue with our waitress, but she mentioned she was new, so it’s understandable. Overall, a pleasant experience!

Not eaten here in a couple years but it’s a favourite of ours and we looked forward to returning! Food was fantastic! Be prepared to get messy, Hickory Squealer is impossible to eat and keep clean but it’s definitely worth it! Wednesdays offer of extra wings was also fantastic and delicious!! Staff couldn’t have been better! Savannah in particular was extremely polite and friendly and offered advice on the menu, noticing that my daughter was (mistakenly) looking at the plant based side of the menu and checking whether it was plant based she was after, or the chicken. She also offered for us to taste a couple of the lagers, with us not being familiar with what was on offer! We look forward to our next visit!

Visited last night for dinner they do beer and chicken and also have a beer and plant menu! Catering for all. They also have a kids menu too. Some other reviews have suggested this isn’t kid friendly, its St Ives every restaurant caters for families. Steep stairs to enter but had a warm welcome. Recommend booking in advance you need to enter card details which are held but no money taken. Food arrived quick within 15 mins. We ordered x2 burgers, fries and a mac and cheese. Kids portion was big and tasty and comes with a drink. It had a rusty feel but I think it felt really cheap inside and grubby. The walls are really dirty if you noticed them. Toilets are cheap and could go with a scrub. I left wanting more for the prices they are charging if I'm honest. £20 for a burger and fries. I had the jerk burger and was expecting a home made mango chutney but I think it was bought from a jar. 10% service charge automatically added to the bill. All in all a nice meal, good service and food was good just nothing amazing.

We had a lovely meal we took our dog with us she was happy not too noisy Super friendly staff. Amazing food just spot on cooked and flavours are bang on. Oh and the cocktails are well worth a try. 👌

The place is upstairs, a rather steep set of stairs. We were seated almost immediately, tables were cleaned for us and drinks ordered promptly. Local craft beers and some strong ones, I like that. I didnt check the menu before arrival, reasoning Beer N Bird is chicken and beer, however its simply burgers really. They are great burgers, portion sizes are extremely fair. The flavours are good, ingredients fair quality. The staff were young but good, chatty and have a laugh but don't pester you too much. There was a girl singing the other end of the room.. not that great to be fair, however, was not too loud to ruin stuff. Overall a decent enough dinner.

The cafe lives up its reviews. The food was unique and tasty, and the service was good. It was a busy day, and after a parking nightmare, we were an hour late - but they called me, and they accommodated us. Even in the restaurant we had to move table and they were super proactive and helpful.

Absolutely superb breakfast, in a wonderful cafe with incredible views. The place is amazing, sat on the cliff face with the beach and sea right opposite, the views are superb. They have various seating areas, inside, in the pods (recommended) or on the benches on the lower level. The service was immaculate, they look after you, are set up with colouring kits for kids etc. We both had the Build Your Own breakfasts with various items. All were superb. Really really good. Cannot recommend highly enough and we’ll be back for a lunch or dinner in the next day or so. Loved it. Edited the review to reflect that we also had our evening meal here. And what a place! If you book at the right time you get to see a stunning sunset. Food wise the evening menu was delicious. We really enjoyed it. We shared scallops, pork tacos, crispy sea bass, tortilla, tomato and moz salad. The little fella had, as usual, chicken and chips.

Amazing food with an even better view! We tried the tapas — halloumi, crab croquettes, scallops, and beetroot salad — all delicious, the scallops were a first for me (and did not disappoint!). Perfect spot to relax with a drink while looking out over Porthmeor Beach.

Fabulous! Definitely one of our new favourite spot in Cornwall to enjoy the ocean view and good quality food! Service impeccable! We spend around £40/50 pp because we had 2 beers and 2 glasses of Prosecco, otherwise we would have spent around £30 each tasting quality food! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our breakfast here three mornings during our visit to St Ives. The food is excellent and the service was fantastic. We had a table inside right above the beach and it was a lovely way to start the day. I had my first cream tea ever in England and it was delicious.

Had dinner with friends here on our last night in St Ives. We booked a pod that came with spectacular views of the beach and a beautiful sunset. The food was really good, the star of the show was the crispy sea bass but was impressed with all the dishes we had. Service was faultless, nothing was too much trouble. Anyone who visits here will be in for a treat but make sure you book in advance as it gets very busy.

Amazing restaurant over looking the delightful porthmeor beach. Worth a visit to watch sunset, surfing, and seagulls. Delicious food, great service and good value. Will be back!

One of the best pubs in St Ives, gorgeous location overlooking the harbour beach in the sunshine watching the world go by and the seagulls. Then step inside to the cosy bar with low ceilings, friendly staff, good food and a lovely atmosphere. The steak deal was fantastic with a free bottle of wine and so delicious, cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend. St Ives and Carbis Bay absolutely gorgeous. X

We came here to meet friends, the wine was lovely , the staff are friendly and the service is very good. Guinness was very nice 👌 Stunning views and managed to get a table outside eventually. We didn't mind sitting inside too. We ate here 4 years ago and it was delicious. We didn't eat here this time but the food that went past looked amazing and smelt so good Highly recommend a visit when in St Ives.

The pub is awesome, food and drinks. In our opinion one of the best to get delicious seafood. We had great lobsters and other seafood several times there. Thank you so much!

We've stayed here before it's a great location with parking is off site but nearby. The room we stayed in was clean with lovely views and a slightly sloping floor. The floor made the bed slope and it was disconcerting to find yourself nearly falling out! The shower was lovely but they do not supply shower gel. There was too much furniture in the room and a tricky staircase to use. It's an old building with lots of quirks but the bed needed levelling. The food in the pub was great. We would stay again but not in that room.

A popular spot for both tourists and locals. They have a wide selection of beers at reasonable prices. The Rattler on tap is also a big bonus!

The mussels were great. Plump and perfectly cooked. The crab linguine was very disappointing. Bland and over cooked. The overbearing signs about glassware spoil the feel outside.

Great food at a good price considering the area and placement of the restaurant. We really enjoyed our food and thought it was good bang for the buck. I thought the fish was lovely, decent size and the chips were good. Steak was also really good given a £12.99 steak and chips deal. Staff were friendly and attentive. Had a lovely sea view but had a street performer singing through the windows 😂

Tasty chowder, great creamy sauce for chip dipping. Nice seats. It was very busy when we visited, the place felt slightly understaffed as the few staff that worked there were rushed off their feet. However, saying that, the staff kept on checking up on us and always seemed friendly. Drinks and food came reasonably quickly. Wasn’t overly pricey. Nice place with good views.

I wanted quality fish and chips by the sea and unfortunately that’s not what I got. The chips seem to be fried oven chips rather than fresh potato and I was given haddock when I ordered cod. The fish itself was nice but wasn’t the cod I was expecting. Just serving proper chips would improve things massively.

Seeing some mixed reviews my expectations about the food were pretty average, but to my pleasant surprise the food, and the service far exceeded them. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful in giving recommendations. Since this was lunch time, I ordered their tomato soup, monkfish and Panna Cotta for dessert. Every dish was very nicely presented, well cooked, and tasted great. Their chef definitely has talent. I can absolutely recommend this place based on my experience.

As we entered with dog one of the staff said “ oh we have prince walking through the door” I felt so welcoming… and the FOOD omg! I didn’t expect everything to be so delicious specially VEG PASTA WITH PRAWNs love it❤️

Probably the best seafood we’ve had in a while. Prawns were tender with delicious garlic butter, very generous portion sizes. Mussels soft and cooked well in moorish white wine creamy sauce. Gorgeous view too!

Very nice restaurant on 1st floor, entrance from behind the building. Great food. Very nice service people. Food was excellent, we'll be back.

The most amazing breakfast we have ever had! The service was great and the food came out quickly too. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We had a double English, the smoker and an eggs Benedict and all were divine. Added benefit is that dogs are allowed in, and they have a doggy menu. Thank you.

Our second visit this week. And even better than the first. The service was superb again, it’s a nice place, brilliant location. She had Avo and Eggs again - loved it. I had Welsh Rarebit. Wow. It was simply amazing. The best Welsh Rarebit I have ever had. The little fella had some toast. Brilliant cafe. On our previous visit I had a Croque Madam, and it was delicious.

Popped in to the cafe this morning for breakfast. Lovely staff and interior is funky. Had the double full English which was superb, the waffle stack one had looked amazing and the poached eggs and avocado also looked really good. The pot of tea was great All in all a great place to visit and would recommend it. Ignore the moaners, I doubt they've ever cracked a smile since birth.

A good place for families to grab a quick brunch. Crab sandwich was really good. Flatbread brisket was on the dryer side, but was quite flavourful. Atmosphere was lively, decor was interesting and seating was comfortable/spacious.

Visited twice and had very yummy coffee, a really nice breakfast on the first visit and a delish scone on the second, with cornish jam and everything! Very cute atmosphere too ☺️ Great vegan options for my partner too.

We went in here to get out of the rain and decided to try our first Cornish Cream Tea. Got sat immediately and staff were attentive and food arrived quickly. Warm and cosy atmosphere and a good experience.

Been here on my husband's birthday who's not much experimental with different cuisines. He totally liked it and said the lunch with the view made his day. Thanks to the staff who were very welcoming ! Love the food and drinks 💖

BIG WOW!!!!!!! Amazing amazing amazing. Food absolutely unbelievable, probably the best food we had during our stay down in Cornwall. The scallops were delicious and the mammassan curry was out of this world. I have no faults about this place everything was immaculate. We had a great seat too right by the window looking out onto the harbour looking at the seals in the water. Please visit this place if you’re in town! Staff are wonderful too, no complaints!

After spending a week in Cornwall, I was craving south east Asian food and this hit the spot! This was also recommended by colleagues and friends. Service was very friendly and prompt and the food came out very quickly. All the flavours were there and left us feeling very satisfied! What topped it off was the lovely view we had! To acknowledge, we do not have any dietary requirements and therefore had no issues with the menu. A menu can be found online as well as outside the restaurant so that you can make an informed decision ☺️ Highly recommend this restaurant! 😊

The best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in UK!!! Everything was cooked to absolute perfection, flavors were rich and balanced. A truly satisfying meal that left me wanting to come back for more. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and attentive. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

If you like Thai food this is the best restaurant in St Ives hands down! Having eaten here many times over the past 3 years, I can confidently say this is one of the best Thai restaurants in the UK. They don’t take bookings, so get there early and get your name down, then head off for a drink and they’ll call when your table is ready.

Flavour Fireworks in St. Ives Talay Thai Kitchen absolutely blew me away. The Thai Mussels were plump and bursting with flavour, the Jungle Curry packed a fragrant, fiery punch, and the Sticky Rice was the perfect sidekick, soaking up every drop of that glorious sauce. Warm, friendly service and a cosy atmosphere seal the deal – this is Thai food done properly.

I had a nice experience here. The quality of the food is very good, and there’s a nice atmosphere. We didn’t have to wait long for the food either. I would definitely recommend the Rajpoot!

Really lovely Indian food. Lots to choose from and very generous portion sizes. Me and my boyfriend got a curry, rice and naan each but could have easily shared one of each between the two of us. Really good vegetarian selection. Especially recommend the tawa.

Bad hospitality, we went to eat husband and wife, ordered few stuffs, but they were like rude, asked for their policy which is some mandatory dishes or takeaway. They only accept cash for takeaway which is really bad. Shish kabab is not possible for takeaway but eat in possible. Food was horrible. Burned Nan bread. No waiting sofa or anything, Asked us and some other takeaway client to wait out side after order. Waiting time was near about 30min. Overall very bad experience as a tourist.

Lovely busy restaurant. Service was good and food really tasty. Not sure why there are so many poor reviews, they almost put me off but glad we went. They serve soft drinks, so if you want alcohol take your own, or get them from the co-op opposite, as we did.

I visited this restaurant with my family yesterday, and all I can say is that it was one of our worst experiences. The ‘King Prawn Biryani that my wife and I had was bland and not very nice. I then noticed that they had used small prawns instead of king prawns to make both dishes - false advertising and blatantly ripping customers off, as this was one of the most expensive dishes at £16, and they were using cheap prawns instead of king prawns as advertised. When I raised this with one of the staff members, he went to the kitchen, came back, apologised, and said he would remove it from the bill. His colleague then returned and started aggressively arguing that I had asked for prawn biryani - I was astonished, and I made the point that their menu does not even have prawn biryani. (see menu attached ) So why would I ask for it? It was the worst service we had, and the food was awful. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Lovely meal and great service, would recommend if you’re visiting St Ives!

Though there was a decent atmosphere, service sucked. I asked the guy for a medium between sweet and spicy for an extra between a dish, he just said crap about "policy", thought he was cool. But yes, if you have some more picky eaters then this is a place to avoid.

Not a very good experience. Drink came room temperature and the chips were very soggy and pale. The way our food was put in the bag wasn’t good either. Most boxes on its side and curry sauce was leaking. Shame as this used to be one of my favourite chip shops in town.

Popped in as walking by and not expecting the amazing food and service we received. Very good price too for the middle of St Ives. Definitely recommend the seafood sharing platter which is more than enough for 2 adults and was incredible! Thank you.

Popped in for take away, the reateraunt is up stairs. I was served by a young girl behind the counter who clearly didn't want to serve me or be at work, the guy with shades on seemed a bit more attentive Food: didn't think much of it at all, and the seven other people that were with me wouldn't visit again or rate the food. The owner needs to take a look at his team running the show.

Chips £3.35 and pea fritter £2.75 were OK. I was a bit disappointed with the very mushy peas as it was puréed like baby food. Staff seemed bored, leaning on the counter yawning away looking down the steps like she didn’t want to be there.

First time coming in here today with my mom on holiday and it was great friendly welcoming staff and prawn cocktail was beautiful and the fish and chips were also really nice well worth the money

This establishment seems tiny, but they actually have a comfortable and stylish upstairs seating area. Our waitresses were lovely, friendly and very attentive. Our food came quickly despite the place being very busy with both takeaways and the restaurant orders! It was piping hot, and the price was reasonable for what we got.

Excellent fish and chip shop. All made fresh as we were waiting. Fantastic scampi and a generous portion. Chips were superb, and lots of salt & vinegar. Pleasant staff. Would highly recommend

Been going to this pub for years when visiting the caravan site. Always been inviting and great menu . Their Menu is boring . This is st Ives - fish finger sandwich🤣 We had a ‘special’ meal . I’m no cook myself but that was terrible . Wine in a little bottle - you having a laugh!!! We are so disappointed and this pub will be closed soon . Won’t be visiting again better meal on a transport cafe. Sorry

Stumbled on this quaint pub on our travels. Beautiful country pub, fabulous food (I had lamb shank and hubby had pie). Staff were very welcoming and service was very good. We had 2 small dogs and will definitely return if we are in the area again. Thank you.x

Back again after having the best Sunday roast here 6 years ago. Unfortunately the standard has dropped. Food was average, my beef was overcooked and tough, sliced on the grain so even more tough. Veggies are ok, green beans also tough and stringy. My husbands chicken breast was also overcooked and dry. The lamb was good. Pork belly had no crackling- was told this before ordering but such a shame. Service was good, friendly staff. Parking available opposite the pub.

We visited during a very quiet Saturday afternoon and were were the only customers so can't comment on service and atmosphere but was very very disappointed with the quality of the food despite it being over priced for what it was! The £7 chicken goujons were tiny and skinny and only got three of them in a portion...essentially heated frozen supermarket ones! The £14.95 beef burgers were heated frozen quarter pounders, buns weren't even toasted and had to pay extra for a single slice of cheese! To top it all off the burger didn't sit well with me and made me puke out all the food!

Grateful for this delightful gastropub with England’s finest pub food. My family and I visited and arrived early lunch, were quickly seated and served. Service was great and food was delicious with generous portions. I highly recommend this place as not all restaurants/pubs in Cornwall do lunch (go figure). A parking lot just for this pub across the street was an added bonus plus clean toilets with a changing station in the ladies room. Awesome.

We went for Sunday lunch, and it was the worst roast we have ever had! The vegetables so over cooked that they had turned into a green gray slop, the beef was like cracked leather. My partner had the vegetarian option which was so bad one mouthful was enough, utterly revolting. The Halsetown Inn was a really lovely place to eat a few years ago but now it's sadly a definite place to avoid. There's a reason they made us pay before we ate.

Stopped here to keep out of the pouring rain, and to use the toilets. The staff were friendly, and accommodating - it was really busy but they still gave us a table despite us not ordering food. I had Cornish Smugglers rum and lemonade - it was gorgeous! There's a great selection of local beer and spirits and having checked out the food menu, and seeing the hearty plates leaving the kitchen, would definitely come back for a meal. Great traditional pub, serving traditional food and drinks, highly recommended.

Had delicious lunch of fish pie. Huge portion at very reasonable price of £12. The two female bar staff were so friendly and helpful. A lovely find in a pricey and busy town.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was very good. Large portion, hot, and tasted amazing, service by the ladies was on point, friendly and warm welcome. We will definitely go back again during our stay, make sure you go. They don't take bookings so I'd it's full have a pint and wait, you'll be glad you did. Proper old school pub, we loved it!

It started a bit weird we can admit that. I had to pay before the service but we took our chances. The food comes really fast. Less than half of pint of Guinness later everything was on the table fresh hot lovely made. Perfect music and sound level. Lovely staff. Amazing location. Enjoy every minute of it. Tomorrow is an other day, but don’t count on it.

On a busy Tuesday in July we found The Union Inn after a recommendation from a local shop keeper. We easily found a table for 5 and duly ordered drinks and food. Good pub grub, I had a burger which was well priced for central St Ives and plenty of it. Staff were really friendly behind the bar and the lady you brought our food out.

We visited yesterday with friends for food, one of the lunches we Asked for jacket potato with chilli and cheese we were told they can’t do cheese on it bar woman told they don’t do that and don’t have the tools to grate it ?? This woman was a real people person NOT. When the chilli came out it was ridiculously hot and not in temperature I had a few mouthfuls about quarter and couldn’t eat anymore the rest of our table tried it and said the same thing, we re looked at the menu to see how we missed some warning of hot and spicy etc but nothing. All my party on the table have had many chillies but nothing like this it was ridiculous. I’ve just spent last day and night suffering with really bad heartburn. We would have said something to the blonde hair lady behind the bar but clearly she wouldn’t have been helpful in anyway.

Great roast, great drinks, fantastic prices (bout 25 pounds per person for a roast plus drinks). We came back after our roasts for a couple drinks to play darts and pool. Got a little slighted when we got asked to move from the darts table cause they forgot to set a table for dinner - felt a bit like that could have set a table adjacent to this area so we could have also stuck around!

Pool table and games area. Dangerous exiting the pub if you've had a few too many as fast road straight out side! Support your local!

Went on a Wednesday night. Busy as it was a quiz night. Bar staff were a little rude maybe because they were busy but we were given the brush off when we asked if there were any spare tables. Quiz master was a bit too over friendly ,it was obvious he knew some of the teams & was having banter with them which didn't come across well to other people & teams taking part.Used a few swear words when there were families with young children eating in the dining area. Maybe he should be a bit more professional if he's going to compere a quiz that includes tourists considerting they are putting money behind the bar on a quiz night.

We have visited this pub 2 nights in a row . We are on holiday from Kent. The guys are so lovely and friendly and made us feel welcome . The food was fantastic hence why we visited twice already in our week here . My steak was cooked to perfection . I highly recommend this place .

We rang up as was interested in doing the pub quiz As we like to keep traditional pubs going. Was told if not eating wouldn’t need to book a table and can just turn up. . Anyway having dashed back from Newquay to get here as soon as we walked through the door all of sudden no tables spare and fully booked ! Strange as we could see empty spaces around us. Clearly a pub for the locals and not tourists. Landlord basically couldn’t give a txss and we left quicker than it took us to travel down here. Anyway it’s your loss as we like food and drinks and you lost out on £150 between 5 of us to the sloops inn at st Ives which clearly more welcomed us and appreciated us being there. So next year we will completely bypass this on our travels to st Ives. 👋👋 zero stars.

Every time we've eaten here we've had a superb meal. The flavours that go into the beautifully designed dishes are wonderful and nearly every dish on the menu is vegan or has the option of being served as a vegan version. A friendly team and a lovely setting make this a consistent favourite of ours for a memorable meal out. If you haven’t been in to the Bean Inn for lunch or dinner yet, you need to change that!

This was my second or third visit to The Bean Inn. I love this restaurant and always do my best to visit when I'm in Cornwall. It is not always easy to find a vegan/vegetarian restaurant and for those of us who have intolerances/allergies, it's wonderful to find a restaurant that takes dietary restrictions seriously. The food is always excellent-it's fresh and healthy. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Cornwall. Thank you:).

We had a wonderful vegan meal. We couldn't resist a starter and dessert as well as the main! The curry with stuffed potato cakes was delicious. So good we have booked for another evening. How wonderful to have such good vegan or vegetarian food as an option on our trip to St Ives

Highly recommended. Excellent responses to online enquiries. We travelled from Padstow to visit the Bean Inn and were not disappointed. We each had three courses and were not disappointed. Very flavourful dishes and the staff were all very friendly. Just wish there were more restaurants like this. We will be back!

Lovely cosy restaurant. Would definitely recommend a visit. We were made really welcome and even though we arrived early, we were not rushed, everything was timed perfectly. The food was really well presented and delicious. The waiter that served us was very friendly and professional.

⭐️⭐️ (2 stars) I was really disappointed with my experience. The quality of the food was poor there was no real taste, and it was hard to even tell what I was eating. Unfortunately, I ended up with a stomach ache afterwards, which made it worse.😞 On top of that, the staff were not friendly😓 and their behaviour came across as quite rude. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend eating here, and I hope they improve both the food quality and customer service.

The uncle at reception was rude and so Unprofessional. The food we ordered was overpriced and below the average. Gives us stomach issues. The lamb was not properly cooked.

Had a fabulous takeaway, 3 great veggie curries of which were individually and delicately spiced Had so many curries that are the same colour and barely taste any different. Was not the case from here. Even the rice and chips were excellently cooked Highly recommend

Great little place tucked away back from the harbour. The food is excellent with great portions and full of flavour. Have to mention the Hariali, I would highly recommend this dish, looked and tasted different to anything I’ve had in an Indian restaurant before. It was sensational. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They don’t have a license so it’s BYO, which is fine as there is a co-op just down the hill!

The food was a bit too plain for our taste. The tarka dhal was a bit bland. We're vegetarians, so we want our main course to be more exciting than the mere veggie sundries. It would have been better topped with fresh ginger and fresh chillies maybe. The balti with paneer was delicious! Nice oniony rich sauce. The Sag Aloo was also a bit too bland for us. All in all enjoyable though. Service was great!

I took my fiancé and two friends to this restaurant for a vegetarian meal, but before we even sat down, the attendant rudely told us it was mandatory for each person to order one main dish. We’ve never come across such a policy at any Indian restaurant, and it was communicated in an unwelcoming, almost hostile manner. The person who appeared to be in charge was particularly arrogant and showed no interest in letting us leave respectfully when we expressed discomfort. To make things worse, the place had an off-putting smell and the overall hygiene standards seemed questionable. It didn’t feel clean or inviting at all. A big NO from us—definitely not a place we’d recommend to anyone looking to enjoy Indian food in a decent, hospitable environment.

Went into the Curry Garden St ives, Cornwall with my daughter and were met by Hassan who was very friendly and gave us recommendations of dishes according to our taste as we being South Asian we do like our food quite spicy. The dishes were delicious and the service was good and the servers very attentive. The food was halal so that made our evening and they donot serve any alcoholic drinks.

Very good food, the chef definitely knows how to combine different tastes and spices from different cousines. Small portions so recommend to order two per person. Great service. Cocktails are not as great as the food though.

A very popular restaurant — we arrived at 7pm and the only available seating was outside, next to the bins. The menu is simple with limited options, and the portion sizes are quite small. Overall, the dishes were on the salty side, and the much‑recommended fish curry tasted rather sour, which I personally didn’t enjoy. That said, the service was friendly and the prices were affordable.

Our favourite restaurant in the UK so far. (We went 2 nights in a row!) The food was delicious and extremely well presented. We loved how each dish was a twist on traditional food, made with local produce and with so much flavour. The staff were extremely friendly. Highly recommend.

Easily the best restaurant in this St. Ives if you’re looking for a bit of variety. The location is great- right next to the pier. The service is good and the wait staff are friendly. The ambience is lovely. The drinks and food have quite a complex flavour profile. There are good veggie options. Would highly recommend.

Delicious food - every dish was super tasty; spiced mince lamb, crab fries, broccoli, mackerel. I could have ordered any of the dishes - they all sounded fab. Service was impeccable, really friendly staff - special shout out to Fyna who gave us recommendations for local beaches and places to visit.

Simply amazing! The monkfish curry was a dream! The fish was cooked to perfection and served separately which allowed us to fully enjoy the various flavours and textures the dish offered. We ordered several items too but the fish curry really stood out among all the excellent dishes we had.

Probably the best food in St Ives. Incredible service, great selection of drinks including Cornish Sparkling wine that is actually fantastic. The food is a blend of Mediterranean style cuisines, executed to perfection. Fish cookery on point and the flavours from the ‘simple’ flatbreads alone are enough to make you want to visit time and time again. Cannot rate Silco highly enough.

No ratings fort atmosphere as I've only ever known it as a take away. Best local chippy. Especially now the Balancing Eel has been sold. Real potatoes none of that reformed dehydrated nonsense you get at most places. The fish always tastes just that bit fresher than the others, even in the winter when business has got to be slower. They also use solid oil whether beef fat or vegetable I couldn't say. Either way they are cooked in the traditional way and you have to eat it while it's hot. The photo below is my left overs which I'm about to devour. They always give enough for two meals, as I don't believe in unnecessary waste, I always enjoy a Sharkey's treat twice in a week 😂

Absolutely the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time. Glad I preordered as not surprisingly there was a big queue. Delicious fish and crispy chips, will definitely come back next time we’re in St Ives.

On holiday in St Ives and always have F&C first night away. Found Sharkey’s was the closest to where we were staying and reviews did it justice. Absolutely amazing fish and chips. The chips were like nothing I’ve had before, fluffy and crispy. So good went back for 2nds. Top rank.

Really tasty fish and cheesy chips. Excellent batter on the fish. Curry sauce had a good tang. Ordered via the app and no delay in getting order. Highly recommended.

So stopped by here to pick up some food, we got cod, chips, curry sauce, chip butty, 2x battered sauces and scraps. We then had a 15 min journey back to penzance and the food stayed good until we got back. However I felt the chips were a let down and they were under cooked for my liking. Maybe this is a one off and will be back again when in the area.

Wipe your feet on the way out! Came in as a family for food and I really wish we had not bothered. Food was served in plastic baskets - plastic baskets!!!! with paper underneath the food.. said paper ripped and yummy an added extra for free! Don’t even start with the state of the glassware, definitely not cleaned properly. Had I seen the state of the floor behind the bar before we had eaten I would’ve walked straight out. The place is sticky, dirty and overpriced. The chips were cheap frozen crinkle chips and the ham tasted sour so we left most of it. Absolute rip off. EHO should have a little wander in here, it really shouldn’t be serving food.

Fantastic night out , last night 28th August 2025 Karaoke was on , pub was very busy which shows you how popular it is. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend going there for a great night.

Went in and showed my government drivers license but was refused due it being deemed as fake? Went next door and there were no faults with it. Staff might need a reminder on how to tell if an ID is fake or invalid. Shame as I was really looking forward to the experience.

This was the first time I was travelling all alone, after a five-hour train journey I was drained, and I badly needed a drink to feel like myself again. I had read about the Castle Inn from one of the Cornwall city guide sights, this being one of the oldest pubs in the town. I thought of starting my trip with a drink at the pub, I placed my order and while the drink was poured, I realised that I did not have my card on me. I had left it at the hotel, and I felt embarrassed as I explained my situation to the lady on the other side of the bar. I did not have any cash either but not for once did she humiliate or make me feel small, instead she politely offered me the drink without wanting anything in return. It might have been an insignificant gesture for others; however, I was moved by her kindness. The crumpling fear of being harshly judged or scolded for wasting the drink was replaced by a feeling of gratefulness. I thanked her but promised to return to the bar with my card and so I did fifteen minutes later. The simple gesture of giving out a drink for free really moved me, this thing made me feel more confident about my journey.

Castle Inn is a superior real ale pub in the centre of St. Ives, just a short walk from its popular harbour. Like many community pubs it doesn't look like much from outside, but the place is fairly elaborate and its rough, dark wood décor exudes the atmosphere of real local history. The range of hand-pumped real ales is far above average for St. Ives, and unlike many other establishments in the town it is not affiliated with or owned by St. Austell Brewery. As a result the beer selection offers real variety. They offer live music events on a regular basis, and it is one of those places where locals and tourists mix. Recommended.

Terrible experience. We went to Ardor in St. Ives because it’s listed in the Michelin Guide, but it turned out to be one of the worst dinners we’ve had in the area – and honestly, one of the most disappointing ever. The service was downright embarrassing: we waited forever just to place our order, and even longer just to ask for drinks. There was zero attention to the customer and no professionalism. When we raised a concern about the poor quality of the food, we were dismissed with a cold and uninterested “I’m sorry.” No effort to understand or fix the issue. As for the food – absolutely below par. The main courses (octopus and prawns) were clearly defrosted, tasteless, and miles away from the freshness you’d expect in a seaside town like St. Ives. Nothing on the plate justified the high prices on the menu. The final bill was just the cherry on top: overpriced and completely unjustifiable given the poor quality of both food and service. Bottom line: avoid this place. Ardor relies entirely on appearances, but has nothing of substance to offer. There are many much better and more authentic restaurants in St. Ives, serving fresh local fish daily and offering genuine hospitality. This place is just a big disappointment.

Wow ! This place is off the charts ! Food was so delicious. A great comprehensive menu and locally sourced specials. So many good dishes we struggled to choose. Cocktails were on another level and service was on point. The head chef even had time to talk us through his kitchen and inspiration. There is even a bespoke vegan menu . St Ives is lucky to have a gem like this and we look forward to our next visit . Thankyou

The food and drinks were nice, we ordered a variety from the tapas menu and enjoyed all food we ate. The reason I have given 3 stars is the price and service charge add on. We had another tapas style meal earlier in the week and the food was just a good but half the price at the end for roughly the same amount of food per person. And then to add on a discretionary service charge at 12.5% at the end i would really be expecting outstanding service from start To finish to feel justified to pay that, although none of the staff were rude service with a smile goes a long way. Overall all for what we paid per head it just doesn’t live up to the price point.

Had dinner here tonight and everything was delicious! We ordered a few plates and shared between two. Really good value and great location. Lovely staff as well! I’d definitely be back! I would recommend booking though as it’s popular!

We had an amazing experience at Ardor! The staff were super friendly, very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu and specials, and were happy to give recommendations if necessary. We ordered a mix of small plates and mains. We have nothing bad to say about any of the dishes, they were all delicious. The standouts for us were the pork belly pinxtos and the lamb kebab. For the quality of the food and service, the price was very reasonable. This is definitely worth a visit in St Ives!

A superb dining experience in a beautiful restaurant, served by wonderful friendly staff. We sat at the kitchen pass and enjoyed watching Chef Grant and team produce our flawless meals. An absolute gem in St Ives. Highly recommended.

We went to Ardor St Ives for a special dinner, and they took us on a magnificent journey of flavors. The menu, with its Mediterranean cuisine blended with Spanish and Argentinian influences, allows you to experience very distinct notes from a single plate. For starters, we had the truffle mushrooms, Jamón croquettes, and burrata with peach, all of which were fantastic. The olives I tasted here were among the most delicious I've ever had. However, the star of the night was definitely the dry-aged rib eye. The harmonious distribution of fat and the level of aging were perfect. In every slice, the meat was incredibly juicy and tender. This is a Michelin candidate for me. Thank you for a wonderful dinner accompanied by a Spicy Margarita. I hope to visit again soon.

Had a fantastic experience at Harbour Fish & Chips in St Ives! The location right on the harbour is perfect, and the food was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness of the locally sourced fish and chips—they’re easily the best in town. Loved that everything is prepared on-site, and the chips were perfectly cooked. Great service and staff who make you feel very welcome. A lovely spot to eat in or grab a takeaway. Highly recommend!

A must visit for fish and chips and oysters. The mussels were good too! The sauce was not salty and was tick and full of flavour. Very generous portions. Quick service and friendly staff We didn't have to wait long and as a group of 9 we were very lucky to sit down together and have some great food and in good time too. No long wait and everyone's order came out pretty much at the same time and all hot and tasty The oysters came with lemon and Tabasco. I would have like the red onion vinaigrette but they were good even with just the lemon. Tables could do with more napkins and or wiping cloth for the finger wash bowls but overall, we loved this restaurant Everyone left full and happy.

Tasty food with a great view and nice decor. Fresh, hot meals and a good menu. Prices were fair (half a cider cheaper than soft drinks!). Service wasn’t great and a service charge was added without clear notice, hence 3 stars.

On a day out in St Ives this place completed my day with one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. They were very busy on Saturday and we had to wait outside to be seated which didn’t take very long. Staff were super nice and friendly and looked after us. Highly recommend if you are around its worth the wait.

Delicious fish and chips. If I was honest, I wasn't expecting much from this fish and chip shop, which sits on the seafront of a busy resort. However, from the moment we were greeted by the friendly staff to the arrival of our delicious fish and chips, I was so glad we'd chosen to visit. The fish was cooked to a turn, the batter deliciously crunchy, and the chips and peas a perfect accompaniment. Highly recommended!

Had the cod and chips with a pint of their lager. Fish and chips were decent but fairly average, especially compared to other spots around Cornwall and beyond. The lager was smooth and really enjoyable though. Prices were what you’d expect for St Ives so not cheap, but not surprising either. All in all, fine for a quick bite by the sea.

Fantastic beach side - more than a cafe - serving lovely food. Very friendly and welcoming. We had a selection of dishes - Crab Taco, Garlic Prawns, Mussels with fries and beautifully soft bread and really creamy butter!

Nice place on Porthgwidden Beach, had a lovely table with a beautiful off the beach and beyond. Apart from the burger which looked dry and overcooked the food was pretty good and served generous portions. The service was OK, nothing special and felt a bit rushed to get us to leave after we just finished our meal. A bit of improvement around service and teach the kitchen how to make a decent burger then they’ll be on to a winner!

We come across this Beach Café by chance, it's tucked away down the beach approach just off the St Ives - Island car Park. Got to say the drive to and from the car park was tight and through the town, but we managed to squeeze down the tight roads in our Ford Ranger. The Porthgwidden Beach Café was a lovely unexpected jewel, we were greeted by the staff and seated at the lovely window table overlooking the bay. The food choice was just what we expected, and the quality was 2nd to non, we both had the fish and chips, which was great quality and taste. The service was extremely quick, and the staff where really friendly, giving us advice on the scenery and where we should visit. All in all I will give this place a 5/5 for food, service and a friendly atmosphere. We will definitely save this as a favourite for when we return back to Cornwall.

Well .. it was our 1st wedding anniversary & needless to say we had to go back to where we had our wedding breakfast mealy , only the two of us instead of the 3o one year ago this time round .. & what a joy ( cheaper too , lol ) , great views just as before & made relaxed .. quick catch up with 'Will' (plus others) & food ordered , service although a different waitress was second to none .. amazing food & 1st steak since being in town for the week , excellent perfectly cook & the lemon sole too . Wined Dined & Reminisced , fab evening & we'll be going back for sure ... why shouldn't we the food alone is enough.

The reason why is just one star for food is because we get squid rings which we paid £8.95…shocking, we got also burgers which was brilliant, perfect . You can see it in the picture. That was from takeaway

The female receptionist in the restaurant could not have been more unwelcoming or frosty in manner. We did however eat in the beach café which was lovely. So five stars for food and staff service at Beach café - none for welcome in restaurant.

We decided to go here on Google reviews and it was the closest to where we were staying. The girl who served us was very happy, welcoming and polite. Service was quick and we waited for our order. Attached is a picture of my meal and also a bowl full of batter that I picked from my fish. Far too much batter, maybe they should drain it a little more to get just a thin coating of batter (happy customer) and use less batter mix (happy owner). The portion of peas and gravy for the price was far too small. In Nottingham you'd pay half the price for the same amount, tourist trap? Anyway the fish was very good and nice to see they do pickled eggs! Would we go back, no we'd try somewhere else to be honest, shame as if it tweaked these points it could be the best in the area.

We last visited Becks what seems like decades ago. We always appear to have been passing since when it is closed or on route to another destination. Thankfully the drought is now over. Managed finally to be hungry and passing (although truth be told it was actually a planned visit). 5 of us went there were 5 empty plates. They served goodly portions leaving all very full. You can go large if you wish but be prepared for whale size portions folks as when they say the standard portion is like a large already they mean it. The batter on the cod was second to none and as crispy as it comes, the cod itself was lovely and thick and silky which is seriously hard to come by these days. When you crack open the batter not only is it piping hot it smells like the fish and chips did when i were growing up . We also had scampi which was excellent and breaded plaice which I am told was delicious. Best surprise of all was they also had gravy and curry sauce too which was a bonus please be aware though its not on the menu so make sure you ask for it as they are both very very good (huge servings too). We are all looking forward to a revisit. If you are also considering if the gluten free bit affects anything the answer is a resounding no. All chippy’s should use it if it would make the fish and chips taste like Becks.

I discovered here during a road trip last year. Unfortunately, i was too busy stuffing my face to take a photograph then so i stopped by the next day (without checking the closing times, my mistake) only to discover it was shut. Mortified, as it was the last day of the road trip, i said i would return the next time i found myself in Cornwall and here i am. Only this time i managed to restrain myself back long enough to take this photograph. If that alone doesn't tell you how nice the food is i don't know what else will. Lovely polite staff with excellent service. Will gladly stop by again the next time i am in Cornwall.

We went here for the first time as it was the last night of our stay in Carbis Bay. The location was very convenient and the parking was very easy to access. The service that we got was very good even though it was a busy Friday evening. The young lady who took our order was very polite and friendly. The cod that we got was very tasty and was lightly battered as requested. However the chips were very dry and tasted like they were cooked hours ago so were very disappointing and not very appetising. The meal was very heavy and gave me indigestion. I am sorry that we won't be returning and were disappointed even though we had been given good reports by locals

UPDATE Aug 2025: The best fish and chips in the world. Huge portions, couldn't finish it. Great value! Loved it!! Visited here last night with my son and husband. Check the opening times as it closes early at 8pm. And it is closed on a Sunday and Monday. We eat in the restaurant and have had our best meal yet on holiday. It has a real oldie worldie charming feel to it inside. When you enter, there is a sign saying go to the far end of the bar to be seated. In short, the lady takes your name, asks you to buy drinks at the bar, and then goes that's done. You'll be taken to your seat. Food is made to order, but ours came out quickly. Brillant kids menu. See pic plus colours and activity sheet kept our boy busy. The fish and chips were perfection! Fresh, crispy batter and light. Curry sauce was fab, too. Paying gets done at the front, and when you're ready to leave. Old fashion hospitality and service which is friendly and welcoming. Nothing seemed rushed or crowded or hectic, which was lovely. Huge portions. Highly recommend this is a hidden gem. Although i don't think it's hidden from the reviews and how busy it was. There is also a takeaway on the side.

An absolutely wonderful 'chippy'. Warm and friendly reception from polite and attentive staff. Nice bar area for if there is a wait. Food is very tasty and plentiful, best fish and chips I have had in a good many years. My wife said the Scampi she had was the best ever. So good, we went back the following evening. Highly recommended.

A very very busy restaurant and takeaway, long queue for the takeaway but service was quick, we headed for the restaurant on entering it says to make your way to the end of the bar where we put our names in a book to await a table, we had a drink while we waited which wasn't long, we had a table for 2 , and we had the very delicious fishcakes and chips, had we realised how big the portions were we would of asked for a smaller portion as it is suggested on the menu but that said the food was delicious, happy staff, would definitely visit again when down in carbis bay.

After a rocky start to our holiday, the Cornish Deli was a welcome reprieve. We had the Cornish seafood sharer for two which was amazing. The seafood was fresh and delicious and the portion was massive. Service was really friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with the waitress. Definitely recommend booking in advance as it’s a small restaurant!

A hidden gem for sure! We booked ahead for lunch, and got treated to enormous plates of really fresh, delicious food. They seem to have plenty of specials on each day based on whats fresh, and locals popped in for takeaway sandwiches all afternoon. They also have a deli section with local cheeses, beers and wine which make for nice gifts.

Amazing breakfast. Glad we trusted the google reviews and they did not disappoint. Didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive and they were absolutely phenomenal. Can really tasted how fresh and quality the ingredients were. Max was absolutely friendly to us.

Just shared a fish finger sandwich and a 'Reuben' with my wife. Both were absolutely delicious and the best we've had during our time in Cornwall. Fantastic, cheery service too. A fantastic little gem.We will be back.

The food was AMAZING! The staff members were super friendly. The restaurant is not large; if you want to dine in, get there early before the peak lunch time.

All round, brilliant. Went for a meal this evening with family and friends and we had a lovely time. The atmosphere was great, and vibes impeccable. Wine and Sangrias flowing, and came the food. Again, lovely, tasty, couldn’t ask for anything more. Would recommend, friendly staff. No faults!

Just had a lovely meal here, wide variety of authentic Spanish dishes that were all full of flavour. The staff were all super friendly and attentive, bringing water for our dog as we sat down (withhout having to ask) and removing a chair to make seating at the table feel more comfortable with a dog. I'd definitely recommend booking and mention that you have a dog as only certain tables are dog friendly as a different group found out. Overall, we'd definitely come back if we were in the area as there was plenty more on the menu we'd love to try

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at La Casita, and it was truly a memorable experience. The paella was nothing short of spectacular perfectly cooked rice, rich flavors, and the freshest seafood. But what truly sets La Casita apart is the service. The staff were not only attentive and friendly, but they made us feel genuinely welcomed. Highly recommended

Returned after visiting last year, located in Carbis bay so would need a taxi or drive if staying in St Ives, parking looks like it might be tricky so taxi recommended. The food is good, the service is good and the atmosphere is great but it certainly is not cheap. We had tapas as a family of 4, no starters or desserts just one round of drinks the bill was around £150. If that doesn’t bother you I would recommend for a visit to get out of the hustle and bustle of St Ives.

4 days in Carbis Bay and we ate at La Casita twice! Delicious tapas and drinks in a lovely warm and welcoming setting. The staff were absolutely lovely while dealing with a very busy restaurant but we never felt forgotten about or rushed through our meal.

Lovely Spanish food, great paella and tapas. Family friendly with a nice atmosphere, and pleasant staff. Not much parking, make sure you book a table as it does get full.

Loved it! The 4.5 star rating is definitely undeserved, but some of the 1 star reviews are good for a laugh. The food was wonderful, service excellent. The steak was beautiful, the other dishes innovative and really well thought out. Others have said it's expensive, but you get what you pay for (and actually was comparable to most Tapas in my home town). Superb meal.

Found this amazing place on socials and google and did NOT disappoint one bit! Firstly, food was incredible! One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to, easily my top 3. Portion sizes were perfect, flavours were divine. Garlic pizza bread was delicious, perfect amount of tomato sauce, perfect amount of garlic and the bread was just incredible. The Cajun chicken tagliatelle and spaghetti bolognaise was delicious. Just the right amount of tomato sauce and the flavours were on point. Side of chips and cheesy garlic bread with their house garlic mayonnaise were spot on. Lastly, the tiramisu was the perfect way to end the night off. “Traditional recipe” is the description they used and through every bite you can definitely taste the “tradition”. Service was great, could not fault a single thing. We were taken well care of and staff were very polite and respectful. Overall it’s decently priced and well worth the money. Definitely recommend, it’s a must try. We will definitely be back no doubt!

What an amazing find this place was! We received such a warm welcome to this lovely restaurant and enjoyed an amazing meal, well presented and with generous portions. Matthew couldn’t have looked after us any better and was full of really useful information, an ambassador for St Ives as well as the restaurant.

Booking is a must online as the restaurant is small and popular. We had a warm welcome and lovely meal. Giant olives were delicious along with the huge dough balls which my son loved. Sea food linguine was lovely and the pizzas too. It was very warm in the restaurant and uncomfortable, maybe get some fans in. Toilets sinks need scrubbing, we eat at 5.15pm and they opening not long. This place is popular with families why make the menu into a colouring sheet, also the kids meals don't come with a drink which is disappointing. Instead we paid an extra £4 for a lemonade. All in all a lovely meal out, highly recommend!

Well priced, very good quality food. On a busy Easter weekend they managed to fit us in with no booking, attentive service and a varied/good value menu. Wine good too! Would recommend booking if looking for an Italian in st Ives.

We came across this restaurant by chance, on the first night of our holiday and had such a wonderful meal, that we quickly re-booked for another night. Super friendly staff who all work so hard, to make everything such a great experience for everyone. Monique was our waitress on our fist night and was very attentive in taking our order and making sure our food was OK once it arrived. Needless to say, the food was absolutely outstanding, very reasonably priced and we only wished we lived closer, as we would be eating there every week! Thank you for 2 wonderful evening meals and to all the staff, who work so hard to deliver such wonderful service and delicious fresh food. We look forward to our return, when we next visit the UK again.

This place is a bit tucked away, you could easily walk past it and not see it. Googled 'places to eat in st.ives' while I was visiting September 25, walked in on a chance without a booking. It was really busy, asked about availability and was fitted in for 8.45 by a hostess I thought was a little rude. Went and got drinks and came back at our designated time. What a treat it was!. Food was delicious, service was fantastic. Started with bread with oil and balsamic... Fabulous. Prawns to start that came with more bread... That was on me but it was demolished anyway. For main I had the lasagne which was so fresh and delicious. If I visit again I will definitely be ordering the spicy meatballs because someone at an adjacent table had it and it looked delicious. The aesthetic is intimate and personal, the lighting low, the music soft, the service timely enough not to feel rushed but your not waiting too long. The hostess who I thought I was rude?, turned out to be so nice and personal... We just caught her in a mad moment because it was busy. She gave us so much information about where we planned to visit and move on to, what to see, where to go, the hidden treasures and we ended up having a laugh with her... These are the places I like to eat at, service but social. Thoroughly recommend for great food, great service with the personal touch. Will definitely visit again but book ahead of time because it's popular.

The food was lovely, especially the mussels and lamb ragu. The haddock was dry and that whole meal was pretty bland. We also had the prawns to start and they were lovely, but maybe overpriced. All in all, a lovely experience, but the haddock let it down slightly.

As a reviewer, I always search for the positives and the mussels were definitely that, they were great! However, I was put off from ordering a starter and a dessert because of the poor service which was polite but slow. After waiting 30 minutes, the restaurant wasn't busy, our drinks and food order was finally taken and the food and drinks arrived at roughly the same time; like buses but without the iced water, which never arrived. I can only put this down to us being placed in an annexe away from the main restaurant, as we had our dog with us. It was a bit of a shame that the service was polite but poor, because our main was really tasty. A restaurant perhaps resting on its laurels because of the demand for tables at peak season.

Sunday lunch was absolutely first class. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked (no microwave here) and delicious. This is a fine example of how a traditional roast beef lunch should be. Well done

We've had a Wonderful and warm welcome when we had dinner there. The food was very original, tasty and perfectly cooked. I even went back 2 days after my first visit just to get a side of there to die for side of stemmed brocoli. I was welcomed with the same grace and warmth by a very charming and pleasant lady who invited us to sit down while waiting. That's that kind of sincere welcome that make you realise how special this place is.

This is a great dining spot in the heart of St Ives. An incredibly welcoming experience in a beautifully decorated restaurant… you have the option of seating in the restaurant or on the terrace which is great! The staff were very polite and the service was quick. This for me was an incredibly relaxing experience and the food was super tasty. I would recommend the beef rigatoni and the incredibly creamy buratta (one of the best I’ve ever had). Only thing I will say is the portion size was huge! But is that something really to complain about? I would definitely return here <3

Recommend to us from a friend. We we all blown away with the amount of flavour in the food here - I had the Prawn Risotto and my Wife had the Chowder. Our daughters had the mussels and truffle fries and we all very much enjoyed it. When we come back to St Ives we will be coming back here. Great food, service and nice venue.

New favourite restaurant in St Ives. We come every year and haven’t visited the loft before but are so glad we did! The food on offer is all really cosy and rich in flavour. For starter I had the muscles which were delicious and cooked in a lovely chorizo and tomato sauce - such an amazing change from the usual white wine. I had the Hake which was absolutely delicious and came with the most amazing curry sauce I’ve ever had. The rest of my party had the beef cheek and the lamb rigatoni which were both slow cooked and the meat was falling to pieces they said they were delicious too! The service was good but could have been slightly better if the staff were more attentive- they seemed very rushed and busy. We will definitely visit again.

This cafe overlooking the harbour is an absolute gem. The coffee and the cakes are innovative and fab! But what sets it apart is the team. We went there 3 times during our stay and everytime the staff were engaging, interested and just lovely. (Sadly in contrast to some other establishments we tried). A very busy coffee shop but always took time for pleasantries. They were the reason it was our cafe of choice. Thanks you ladies, you are a credit to the business, you made our coffee mornings an absolute joy! (We were the couple who always chose to sit at the front table for 2 - Paul reading Tim Peake and my beautiful partner Susan).

Just returned from 2 x weeks in St Ives the BCB is high on our list of recommendations. Popping in for a coffee, start of a pub crawl, pizza & cocktails. People watching and a drink after a day on the beach. Just perfect and the views, lovely.

The beach cafe was the place to go in St Ives! Sadly this has changed. Multiple times I have had to go and ask to order when there are hardly any other customers. I was served raw bacon on my bagel and after ordering an oat milk latte was given regular milk. Its the small details that are now being missed. The view is 10/10 as long as vans don't stop infront.

We had BBB and build-your-own. Both are great. The portions are generous but not excessive. Poached eggs are of perfection. Friendly and polite service. Highly recommended.

Fabulous place for coffee, beers, ciders, spirits and soft drinks... They also do a lovely selection of cakes and savories... Staff very friendly and happy to chat.

Food was lovely and the drinks were cold. All the staff were fantastic but a shout out to Chloe who was our server, she was polite and full of energy. Great service! Would recommend if your on a trip to St. Ives :)

Really Friendly , pop in regularly for a coffee or a alcoholic drink later in the day . They do nice tapas . It’s a great place to people watch or to enjoy the harbour view .

The tomato soup with the cheese scone was so delicious; the soup was herby with a bit of spice, not too salty and the cheese scone was warm, the butter softened. Thoughtful service. That bowl really did the trick on a cold February day. I had ice cream, of course. The flavours I chose did not disappoint (2 scoops, one Belgian choc, one vanilla). I didn't have space for the popular 'Shipwreck' at the time. I did, however, go back the next day to get a scoop, and yes, delicious 😋 I also tried the seasonal apple cider sorbet. I think if I had a whole scoop in the summer as opposed to a taster in February, I would have to enjoy it as a sorbet float 🍹✨️

My personal favourite ice cream (alongside Roskilly's) but they do a very nice lunch too. We had emmental, pastrami and gherkin toasties. Highly recommended. And the Moo-berry flavour ice cream seemed to give me a remarkable energy boost that lasted the rest of the day! Apparently it is made with about half a dozen different berries. Have they discovered some new secret formula?! 😁

Tried the chocolate and the raspberry ripple. The chocolate was decent, but nothing that stood out. Unfortunately, the raspberry ripple was a bit of a letdown — I was expecting a stronger, fruitier flavor. Overall, it was okay, but I was hoping for something a little more special.

Best ice cream in St Ives! We come here every time we are in St Ives. Friendly fast staff, lovely shop, truly delicious flavours well maid. Added bonus that it’s late opening and you can get excellent cakes and coffee too

In my research for delicacies in Cornwall, this place popped up often and I was quite keen to know what a moomaid is! Finding it was not difficult as it's at the corner of a busy road. They have high chairs along the glass windows and a few tables inside for groups. They sell merchandise as well along with food and are pet friendly. We visited this place almost all of the days during our stay for their avocado on toast, brie and pesto toastie and coffee. We did try a few flavours of their ice cream and found pistachio to be the best. The sourdough bread they use is pretty good and the ingredients they use for their food is fresh and good quality as is evident in the taste. Watching cars and vans make the right turn around it's corner always fascinated me while sipping on coffee and enjoying a slice of their cake. I have tried a few varieties of the cake they serve in my visits and do notice that the cut slices are always a bit dry (orange and almond cake, coffee and walnut) but the ones cut fresh from a loaf were moist and delicious (lemon drizzle). They might have to find a way to keep the cake slices from going dry being in contact with air throughout the day. The avocado toast and brie pesto toastie are heavenly and we will be going back for it whenever we are in St Ives. Their scone with cream and jam was good as well. The staff, though friendly and prompt in their service, do look a bit fatigued and detached as the day progresses probably due to being on their feet all day serving customers and managing the cafe.

It was a lovely bakery. Fresh goods. Decently priced. Very many options. Some goods were a little dry and some pastries not as flaky as we expected. But a lovely bakery to visit indeed.

Do you like flour-based food? Then you’re in for a treat! I wouldn’t miss a single bite of this dough — you made the right choice. You have to try it: the best bread and patties ever!

People queue to get in. The sourdough loaf is superb. The cruffins look amazing, but I didn't try them. The stake pasty is really good.

Scrumptious sour dough, delicious chocolate tiffins and sausage rolls. Also love their pasty's and cruffins.

Wonderful bakery serving freshly made treats! It does get busy but queues move quickly. The steak pasty, (jam and custard filled) cruffin and Bakewell blondie we shared were all delicious and would highly recommend.

Everything was delicious, but the blondie and almond croissant were the real standouts! 😋 We also had some dietary requirements, and the lady serving us was so kind and patient, taking the time to explain and help us choose what suited us best. Such a lovely experience overall! ✨

Cintra Sea Food St Ives is an absolute must-visit! The delicious gourmet plates and incredible location make for a perfect dining experience. The tables offer a stunning view of the beautiful St Ives marina, which is simply unmatched. I tried a variety of local seafood and seasonal fresh fish, and everything was fantastic. The prawns were meaty and full of flavor, and the flatfish was particularly delicious. The calamari was also magnificent. While the crab bruschetta could have been slightly better—I felt the dough was a bit too prominent— Also tried Cornish Beef which was pretty tasty and delicious. the cocktails were excellent and served as a perfect complement to the beautiful view and food. I really enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning soon.

Stunning restaurant right on the quay side with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are fantastic and friendly, prices are very good. The Food was amazing 😋 The Fresh Crab Bruschetta and the Korean Chicken are a must try the chef's are 100%....

The Cintra breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented with the perfect view of the harbour. The homemade brown sauce was delightful, everything on the plate tasted delicious. Service was very quick, the waitresses were lovely and polite. Definitely recommend!

After an adventurous (and honestly, a bit scary!) speed boat ride in St Ives, we found the perfect spot to unwind: Cintra Seafood Bar. It was exactly what we needed - laid-back, welcoming, and full of character. I had the smoked mackerel paired with a St Ives IPA for lunch, and it really hit the spot. The fish was beautifully prepared - smoky, tender, and rich in flavor - and the beer complemented it perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxed and vibrant, with that lovely seaside charm that makes you want to stay for hours. Our server was very friendly and helpful, adding to the overall great vibe of the place. If you’re in St Ives and looking for a casual yet quality seafood spot to wind down after an adrenaline rush (or just a coastal stroll), Cintra is a great choice.

All the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the Steamed Mussels (really fresh and tasty) and the KFC (so juicy!). I would also recommend the Padron Peppers. Service was completely on point! Shout to Ramsey for being so welcoming, friendly and professional. To top it all the views to the harbour makes Contra Seafood Bar an ideal place for a relaxed dinner while in St. Ives. Totally recommended!!!

This little takeaway spot has both a collection and delivery option… the service was quick as we only waited 10 minutes. We always come here when we holiday in St Ives and have never had any issues! Really reasonable prices for some tasty takeaway. It is cash only but there is a cash point round the corner so not a problem. I recommend the salt and pepper chicken as well as the prawn toast. We will be returning here <3

Had dinner here last night, called up and only waited 10mins for collection. Perfect! Cash only on collection. Food was piping hot and nice. Squid was lovely and we were happy. I've noticed there is mixed reviews but this isn't the worst or best Chinese I've ever had. Dinner was nice would recommend!

Not bad, have had a lot worse Chinese takeaway. The sweet and sour sauce was way too sweet, but the salt and pepper tofu was amazing as we're the salt and pepper chips. Crispy seaweed was also a bit sweet Cash only which we didn't see on the menu so had to collect instead of delivery. Not bad

Clearly asked for NO FISH as my father is allergic! When dishing up his no 87 it was found to have prawns in! Waste of money as had to be binned, couldnt take the risk of picking the prawns out! Restaurant closed at 1130. I called 1129, 1131 no amswer, called again 1145 voicemail of there opening hours. Absolute joke. Wont be returning on my next visit to Cornwall

Came for my Birthday, was expecting great things for the prices. Unfortunately it was just ok, lovely presentation with food. Barman was fab and attentive, but espresso martini was £18 and very small. Had 2 x starter each, 2 x main meals and 2 drinks. Best dish was the Venison main, very nicely done. Didn't come away fully satisfied. Nice experience for my Birthday, but wouldn't revisit.

Bartender and server were outstanding. Food was a huge disappointment. Got the Korean chicken based off photos we saw on google and online however what we got was far from it. Chicken had tomato sauce on it. It was like a canned tomato sauce dumped on chicken. Far from korean. Was able to eat it because cocktails deliciously washed it down!

Booked in on line a few weeks before hand and requested an outside table which had been reserved for us when we arrived. The waiter's were great and very friendly and helped us with choosing a bottle of wine and the food. We had a bottle of Rosa which was perfectly chilled, pale and dry just as I like it. Went for four cocktail snacks instead of starter's which turned out to be the right decision. All were very tasty and the pork crackling turned out to be the biggest one I have ever seen including a real tasty dip inside the apple so don't forget to eat it if you order it. For mains I had lamb which was cooked just right pink in the middle all very tasty. Dessert was a sundae which we shared its to much for just one we thought. I would recommend this restaurant even if your not staying at the hotel as they do take none residence.

Food poor, service trying to defend the indefensible was admirable but misplaced....lovely location but what a disappointing experience...had the lobster macaron...hard sugary macaron...bitter lobster mash..combination poor...even the waiter said the majority of customers said it was poor...why is it on the menu? All main courses lukewarm and lacked taste. The pork belly was covered in sweet sickly sauce...I cant go on...except to say...young guy at the bar was amazing

My fiancé and I visited Walter’s on The Beach during our holiday, expecting a special dining experience given its stunning location and premium pricing. Unfortunately, we were left disappointed. We were drawn in by the promise of quality and atmosphere, even purchasing a £115 bottle of champagne with the intention of spending the entire evening there. Sadly, the experience did not meet expectations. The food lacked flavour and finesse, and the atmosphere fell flat — failing to reflect the beauty of the surrounding location. Despite spending £212, the evening felt underwhelming. In truth, we’ve had more enjoyable and better-value meals in a standard Greene King pub. While the location is undeniably beautiful, the ambience and culinary quality simply didn’t match up. This was a missed opportunity for what could have been a memorable night.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to after my recent graduation meal here with my parents, especially considering the price we paid. To start, I had the lobster macaron. While beautifully presented and the lobster itself was tasty, the dish was let down by the overly sweet, crunchy macaron with a synthetic lemon flavour that clashed badly with the seafood. In hindsight, perhaps a misjudgment in ordering on my part - but at £18, it still felt like poor value. For the main, I chose the confit pork belly. Again, it looked great and the pork belly itself was well cooked. However, the accompanying potato and pig cheek pavé was unpleasant in both taste and texture, and the wild garlic emulsion and pork fat crumb were similarly disappointing. I actually left most of it uneaten, which is extremely rare for me. My mum had the Asian-style white fish with sticky rice and dhal. She also left a significant portion of it. The rice was clumpy and poorly cooked, and the lentils were overwhelmed by what tasted like far too much curry powder, masking any other flavour. While the setting, decor, and plating were all impressive, and the service was fine (though not outstanding for the price point), the food simply didn’t deliver in terms of flavour or satisfaction. If you’re after Instagrammable fine dining and presentation over substance, this place might suit you. But if you’re looking for a genuinely enjoyable, flavourful meal to mark a special occasion, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Good food but ridiculously expensive and staff just about efficient at best.... certainly not particularly welcoming. I asked for some still water to take some tablets....a amall carafe of tap water arrived.....itemised on our bill at £5!! Incredulous, I asked if this was really a charge for tap water and was told it was filtered!!......so..filtered tap water then!! I don't quibble about paying good money for good food but I REALLY resent being ripped off.

Chose this bar as between myself, my wife and my son we all fancied different things. I had fish and chips, son had a burger and wife something else entirely. We were on a mini holiday in Cornwall at the time. Lovely staff, nice and clean decor with good food. Totally recommend and will be coming back on our next visit to beautiful Cornwall.

We stopped by for breakfast around 10:30 on Saturday. Busy but moved to a nice balcony table. Staff were very kind, smiley, and helpful. 🥗 Food & Drinks We all had vegan breakfast with adding/removing some things. They don't have veggie option hence we went with vegan making it not vegan with additions 😂 🍞 Fried bread – far too oily, couldn’t eat it. 🌽 Corn fritters – good texture, but turmeric overpowered the corn. 🌭 Vegan sausage – absolutely delicious! 🍳 Scrambled eggs – watery, uneven, and bland. ☕ Coffee – excellent, rich dark beans, worth coming for. 🌟 Atmosphere & Service 😊 Friendly, helpful staff. 🌿 Lovely balcony seating, relaxed vibe. Overall: Great service and atmosphere, some standout dishes (vegan sausage & coffee), but a few items need improvement.

We stopped as a group of 13 for drinks after a long mornings walk around St Ives. This is a fantastic place with stunning views of the harbour. Staff are very accommodating and super friendly. We were served very quickly and were sat in the corner at the back with the superb view. We stayed for about 2 hours chatting and taking pictures of our views and each other Good times !!

Previously we’ve only been in here for a drink, maybe a few years ago, however we’ve recently tried it for food. With so much choice in St. Ives you do need to be l picky! Our buyers were okay, but I wouldn’t have them again - if that makes sense. They lacked body, were a bit “squishy”, which is a shame as the flavours were fairly good. I’ve had a lot worse. Service was okay, the woman was a bit like she couldn’t really be bothered, the server guy was a bit more enthusiastic. It’s a great location and the restaurant/bar is done out really well, of course the views are stunning if you’re lucky enough to get a window seat. There is no parking, you will have to use a public car park in the area.

Nice spot with amazing views over the bay and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was just ok for the price, and there’s a hefty 10% service charge automatically added, which makes it even more expensive. I tried the tacos and was disappointed to find only a tiny sliver of chicken inside – definitely not worth it. Worth visiting for the views, but be prepared to pay a premium. 👌

We went here for a late dinner and they’ve got a good, talented singer which adds more entertainment while we enjoy our food. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fish & chips. They were tasty and good value for money. The restaurant also has a nice view of the bay.

After years of holidays in St Ives we finally tried the Mermaid, just before it is passed onto new owners. Food was great, a range of meat and seafood dishes, huge portions! Really hope it sticks around in some fashion else it would be a huge loss to the town. Such a quaint atmosphere.

So thankful to the ladies that work tirelessly to keep everyone’s table well served! We were lucky enough to get in after requesting a call back in case anyone cancelled. Food was tasty and fresh, the restaurant is so cozy and full of details and history.

My family and I were looking for a restaurant in St Ives that wasn’t packed with tourists, and we stumbled upon this gem. We were honestly shocked the decor is beautiful, the hospitality was warm and genuine, and the food was absolutely spot on. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but this one really does. I’ll definitely be recommending it to friends, and we’ll 100% be coming back!

It was recommended to us by many people and we were not disappointed. Fine, solid and traditional food, a beautifully decorated restaurant and friendly, fast and authentic service. The whole sole was flavourfully seasoned and decorated and the dessert was a highlight. I am happy to recommend this place.

Very popular you need to book well in advance. Also if your thinking of getting the paella takeaway get there when it opens up 5.30pm or before as it gets busy.
