Cake Works is a bakery and outdoor cafe that specializes in custom cakes made to order. They have many flavors to choose from, and their cakes are absolutely gorgeous.
For our wedding day we had Cake Works for our dessert table and wedding cake! We got a 2 tiered cake with a passionfruit layer and a guava layer. Everything was delicious and one of my regrets from my wedding was that I didn't get to eat as much dessert! Cynthia was so helpful from start to finish - we did a cake tasting box with her and she was so responsive during the whole planning process. Our cake and dessert table was so beautiful and we are so glad we had them at our wedding!

We ordered our wedding cake from here and it was AMAZING and tasted soooo GOOD! My guest really loved it as well. Communication was prompted and professional. We had our cake delivered to our dinner location. Thank you again Cake Works for making our special day even more special with our amazing cake. 🤙🏾🫶🏾🙏🏾

We ordered a 6 in custom birthday cake, it was so adorable and the pistachio flavor was delicious! As my mom would say, "not too sweet", which for us is a very good compliment. The ordering process was very streamlined through email and a link they had. Response was quick and they were amazing about working with your budget. We wanted a custom cake but the serving size was out of our budget, so we were given a recommendation to size down our cake and add on some mini cupcakes with matching frosting and we ended up right within our budget and still had plenty leftover cake and desserts after our party! We were very satisfied with our cake and experience! Would recommend to others to try and we will be ordering from them again.

I was just there for the macarons. I bring them to my office and the workers love them. I've never heard of a complaint. It's only $3 per macaron. That is a good price compared to other places selling the same. As you can see in the pics, they have great flavors and a lot to choose from. I definitely will be back.

On August 12th I dropped in and ordered a 6 inch strawberry guava cake to be delivered to my hotel on August 16th. Delivery was expensive and I got a call the day before confirming the details since the drivers were running behind, but overall I didn’t have any time constraints and it went well. My issue is that I went to cut the cake later that evening, I noticed that every strawberry on top had mold on it and the cake was extremely hard. If I didn’t know any better, I would say that it was the display cake that I saw when I came in on the 12th, just with an added white chocolate name plate on top. It was very dry and difficult to eat, not that we could because of the mold. I would just verify if you’re ordering from here exactly when they will be baking the cake before you buy it.

I chose to go with this cake place for a wedding experience and first of all I want to say amazing customer service, kind and understanding. They worked with us to give us the small cake we needed for elopement. They were so understanding of everything having to be last minute due to my partners work schedule. They were able to get us our cake testing and our cake 5 days apart. I love the cake testing. I would say go with the more unique flavors because you're only in Hawaii once
Char — Google review
My sister has ordered here in the past and was happy with her previous cake so I knew they were the place for her 21st birthday. I sent my inspiration pictures and they were able to make some adjustments to fit closer to my budget. I ordered about a month in advance. They were super understanding about me rescheduling the pickup time. The cake was ready at pick up time which I scheduled for right when they opened. I was worried about transporting it in the car myself but it didn’t move in the box at all. The colors were a perfect match to the inspo I sent and it looked so cute in pictures. We got the Kona Macadamia Nut flavor and it was AMAZING. I felt like there wasn’t too much frosting which I prefer that way. The frosting was nice and light not overly sweet in my opinion. The cake itself was moist and had a yummy vanilla flavor. The star of the show was the Kona Mac Nut filling, so flavorful and really packed a punch. I ordered a 6” heart cake and it was over 10 servings. We had a lot of people over so we did cut smaller slices, which was good cause it was so rich. This was my first professional cake I’ve ordered so I’m not sure how the pice compares to other places but it was worth absolutely every penny! The cake was a huge hit at the party. We had some leftovers and put them in the fridge, made for great breakfast the next day! Overall my experience with Cake Works was great! They were very kind and nailed the design and flavors were so good. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to get a cake in Honolulu. Thank you for making my sister’s birthday cake a huge success!

We ordered our wedding cake from CakeWorks for our destination wedding in Hawai‘i, and it was absolutely perfect! The cake was a stunning three-tier design, and each tier featured a different flavor which every single one was delicious and beautifully made. Planning a destination wedding can come with its challenges, but CakeWorks made everything so smooth and easy. From communication to delivery to presentation, they delivered flawlessly. The cake looked incredible and tasted even better... our guests are still talking about it! Thank you to the entire CakeWorks team for helping make our day so memorable (and so sweet)!

A Cake Life is amazing. We ordered our cake from Australia for our elopement in Hawaii. Communication was timely and clear and they delivered the cake to our hotel. The cake was delicious as well as beautiful for our private celebration post elopement. Highly recommend this business. Cake was perfection.
Bee W — Google review
There's no way to say this enough, OUTSTANDING! Kristin's cakes were made with such divine freshness and love. It just melts in your mouth but made our hearts happy with their beauty! She hand-delivered these to us at our hotel for our 50th Anniversary celebration with our family of 17. We traveled from Alaska to Hawaii and ordering these cakes was so easy and just made our Golden Anniversary perfect. Mahalo and hugs Kristin!
Diane M — Google review
Our cake was one of the easiest and yummiest choices we made for our wedding. I also loved that they offer cake pops! Who doesn’t love a bite size cake that is easy to eat and doesn’t make a mess! I loved the choices of flavors. Kristin was super easy to work with and everything we had was delicious!
Alaina Z — Google review
Our cake and desserts were fantastic! Not only stunning but delicious too. It was a joy working with the A Cake Life team - they made everything easy for us, including answering my hundred questions on if they could make celiac safe desserts (which they did)! Would highly recommend them for excellent service, pricing, and taste.
Kat D — Google review
What I asked for vs what I got! Kristin was very easy to work with, and despite floral availability issues due to Mother’s Day, A Cake Life literally brought my dream wedding cake to life. Most delicious pink guava and lilikoi wedding cake that my guests loved. <3 highly recommend, mahalo
Christina G — Google review
We partnered with A Cake Life through our wedding venue, Sunset Ranch, for our cake as well as our dessert bar. We loved being able to do a “tasting” with their bento box, curated with flavors of our choosing ahead of the wedding! Since we didn’t want a super traditional cake-only dessert for our reception, having a smaller cake with our chosen flavor (guava/guava) for cake-cutting and of course to eat, we also had supporting desserts that our guests could enjoy! We opted for lemon tarts, cake shooters (guava + strawberries ‘n cream) and cream puffs (matcha and chocolate) and our dessert options did not disappoint! We had the midi dessert bar for 80 guests, and that was perfect. We only had a few cream puffs left at the end of our reception, which our coordinator boxed up for my husband and I. We opted for a semi-naked buttercream finish and had it decorated with some flowers to match our floral arrangements, and it was exactly what we envisioned! Simple, beautiful, and delicious. Thank you, A Cake Life, for a sweet ending to an amazing day!
Niki A — Google review
First off the cake was delicious and great texture! I love how they have a cake bento so you can customize flavors to try in smaller portions! My favorites were guava, strawberry and the coconut/pineapple! Additionally, they were kind to have me reschedule my pick up day when I reached out. Thank you so much and I’d love to purchase another cake in the future!

We hired A Cake Life for our wedding in June 2024. Working with Kristin was the best. She responds to emails super quick. We ordered our cake and a dessert bar from her and we had no left overs! Her desserts are absolutely delicious! Photo Credit: HiRangeMedia

Cupcake shop
Hokulani Bake Shop is a quaint bakery that crafts artisanal cupcakes and hand-decorated cookies for special occasions. The cupcakes are some of the best I've ever had, and I hate sweets because the sugar makes me physically ill and my teeth hurt. My husband tried several flavors and his favorite was banana cheesecake. In addition to cupcakes, Hokulani Bake Shop also sells sweet treats like shaved ice and sweet potato fries.
I will sing praises to the beautiful people at the Hokulani Bake Shop. We ordered our wedding cake from them last year and this year for our anniversary we got the cupcake version of our wedding cake to celebrate. Needless to say this will be a tradition for as long as we can keep it up. Their minimalistic buttercream was the best for us and our guests. We ordered the guava and passion fruit cake with the cream cheese filling. In our opinion they are their best flavors. Their seasonal flavors are also amazing. For the best service call and order ahead.
Veronica B — Google review
Such a great location! Little gem of a place and the people were so nice! Cupcakes were packaged well and tasted delish!!!
M. S — Google review
Apparently, these guys won Cupcake Wars, or so I was told by some friends. We were shopping nearby and went to check them out. I'm not much of a dessert eater but I absolutely LOVE white cupcakes. And to tell the truth, the bakery at Safeway where I'm from does a damn good job with them, so here is my very first comparison on big vs. small taste-wise, not by variety. CUPCAKES: Vanilla Coffee Bean There was just one lonely cupcake left in the entire case which the 3 of us shared lol. The color was a light yellow with specks of coffee, the texture was a bit crumbly and not as moist as I'd like, though the flavor was good and true to its name. I never eat the frosting on any cupcake because it's just way too much sugar. SERVICE: The sole lady working the shop was friendly, inviting, and professional. OVERALL: Good, but not the best I've had.
Maui T — Google review
Went in the morning on a weekday. They have a variety. It was a little busy. I wouldn't say they staff were friendly, but they weren't unpleasant, either. The cupcakes are pricey and small. They were moist with a good flavo. I would eat them again if someone else paid. Doubt I'll return.
Jesus E — Google review
I ordered a 2 simple tier wedding cake with strawberry guava on the top and Guittard chocolate on the bottom. The staff was prompt in answering our emails and the delivery was on time, but I was very disappointed by the quality of the cake. It did not look like the picture I had provided them from their own website (see picture without the decorations). The cake was really dense, dry, and with very sweet icing. Unfortunately it's one of the downfalls of having a destination wedding - can't try the cake beforehand.
Jenifer C — Google review
Was in the area for appointment coming from West side. Stopped in bought sugar cookie that was very cute it's decorating was awesome bought the guava red velvet and chocolate cupcakes took them home to eat . They were so delicious these are absolutely the best compared to Safeway etc Costco definitely will go again when in the area again
Desiree M — Google review
Cake itself was dense and harder than I expected but frosting was flavourful and good. I normally don't like frosting and just scrape off to throw away because I don't like to eat tons of sugar but I ate all of the frosting andlikedthem! My choices were lilikoi and guava. Both good but I couldn't feel much authentic flavour from each fruit.
Blu K — Google review
I am so happy with my experience with Hokulani Bake Shop! I placed a scheduled order with Bite Squad for my mom (I'm not local) and they went above and beyond to make it special! They included the sweetest note for my mom's birthday as well as cute birthday cupcake toppers. My mom said that they are absolutely delicious! Thanks for making it special & easy Hokulani!

We Heart Cake Company is a bakery in Honolulu that offers delicious options for couples during their cake tasting. They are also very creative and can easily match color schemes and palettes.
I can’t say enough about how incredible this company is! I was extremely stressed this past week trying to figure out party plans for my niece’s 1st birthday knowing it would all fall on my aging parents and myself to get everything done and paid for. I figured we could just forego the cake since I didn’t want to spend a lot on cake alone. Day of the party, I decided to get one anyway, but of course, every nice cake shop were unable to make something day of. Luckily, I called one more bakery. I saw great reviews for We Heart Cake Company and they were not lying! My experience with the excellent service and professionalism of this company started with the phone conversation. Although they expressed they did not have full size cakes available, they were able to make a customized petit cake before the shop closed in an hour and a half. It turned out to be way better than I and my family could have hoped for! It was absolutely beautiful and although it was a smaller cake, I would have definitely paid more for it considering the amount of detail they put into it in the time frame given! Thank you, We Heart Cake Company! You made this stressed out auntie very happy and relieved :) Mahalo!

My son ordered the cutest bday cake same day and it was so adorable!! The cake itself was delicious and not overly sweet. Thank you for the cutest cake ever!

Their cakes are very good! The icing is not too too sweet that will make you feel awful after eating it. The people are nice although their place is a little cramped. If there is already customers inside, you should just wait outside.

Wow this place is great. Cake looked amazing. And we accidentally ordered a 1 and not a 3 for my daughters birthday. They were so awesome and fixed it up to look like a heart instead, Came out awesome. And sure will tastes just as great
Jay B — Google review
We Heart Cake Company makes the highest quality baked goods that both look good AND taste good! I’m always so impressed with how precise the designs on their cookies and cakes are, while maintaining premium taste and quality. I haven’t found anywhere else on island that matches up to their level of quality. The owners and team are the sweetest people, too. Definitely check them out in Kaimukī—make sure to check their hours before stopping by since they close in the afternoons and are closed twice a week. Highly recommend!

Wedding bakery
Leonard's Bakery has been a beloved local establishment since 1952, renowned for its malasadas, Portuguese donuts that are slightly crispier and chewier than traditional doughnuts. The bakery's influence extends beyond Hawaii, with franchises in Japan. Visitors can savor these delectable treats at scenic locations on the island during guided tours or simply stop by the bakery to indulge in a variety of flavors, from classic custard-filled to tropical-inspired options.
On our friends’ recommendation, we came here to try the malasadas. We arrived about 10 minutes before closing, but we were still able to buy everything we wanted. My favorite was the original flavor — just sprinkled with sugar — though for me it was a bit too sweet. Still, the dough and the baking itself were quite tasty. The chocolate one was also fine. But the coconut one, and the third flavor we tried (I don’t even remember which), really weren’t to my taste at all. Overall, though, it was interesting to try — it’s a popular and well-known spot. That’s why I’d recommend giving it a try. For me and all my friends, the most original flavor remained the favorite🥰😍
Iryna Y — Google review
Went around 4pm and waited 15-20 minutes. We got one of each flavor. TBH I only liked the cinnamon and custard ones. The other flavors just tasted very very light. They came out warm which was nice but they do not taste good when they’re not warm.
Nicole B — Google review
The best malasadas that you can buy in Hawaii! This is a legendary spot to taste the the best malasadas you'll ever have! It's always crowded. The customer service is great and everything is always hand-delivered fresh to you. When you take a bite it literally melts in your mouth. They have a variety of selections with different feelings you can choose from, or you can get the original with no filling. The choice is yours, they also have cold coffees that are really good. This is a dessert that you must try while you're in Hawaii! World famous Leonard's!
Aaron P — Google review
If you’re looking for fresh Portuguese donuts, this place can’t be beat. Known famously across the islands and in the mainland, Leonard’s serves up fresh hot malasadas to order. They don’t taste as good when they cool down. This location is the closest to the Waikiki area and there is limited parking no seating. There is always a line because they are made to order. It’s worth the wait frankly.
Alan — Google review
Leonard’s Bakery is a must try when you're in Hawai’i! Their special pastry dough is fried to perfection — light and fluffy. . When we first arrived, the crowd was pretty intense, and we thought the wait might take forever, but it turned out to be pretty quick. I was able to order right away since everyone was just waiting for their food. There’s no seating inside—it's mainly a to-go spot. I ordered two malasadas, one with cinnamon sugar and another filled with guava. I also ordered a Portuguese sausage wrap and an iced coffee. It took about 15 minutes for our food, which was pretty fast! My husband and I loved the malasadas and the sausage wrap. The iced coffee wasn't really my favorite, but overall, everything else was great. If you're in Hawai’i, make sure to check them out!
Carmen H — Google review
Amazing, famous malasadas! Despite a line out the door, the service was quick and the food was even better! Our favorite was the original. The custard filled ones were a bit heavy and messy, but tasty nonetheless! Parking is very difficult so recommend either walking, or having someone drop you off to order while you circle around or park elsewhere!
Gina F — Google review
What can I say? The reputation is spot on. It was my 1st visit to Honolulu. The malasadas are truly amazing. They are great anytime but particularly amazing when fresh and warm. This should absolutely be one of your first visits in Honolulu.
Neal C — Google review
Easy to find, however once you see it you better turn in or you'll have to reroute your way back. Parking lot is small, so if you get a parking spot consider yourself lucky. Order inside wait outside, easy flow. The pastry is a Portuguese malasada, and it is absolutely DELICIOUS! I got the cinnamon pastry. I should have ordered more, especially a few cream filled ones. They make to order, be patient, enjoy the weather, it's WORTH it.

Kamehameha Bakery Inc, a long-standing establishment in Kalihi, is renowned for its specialty poi-glazed donuts and ensaymadas. The bakery offers an array of baked and fried goods, including Filipino pastries like ensaymada. However, the star of the show is their glazed poi donuts, which derive their unique purple hue and starchy flavor from the Hawaiian taro root dish called poi.
Great bakery!!! Unfortunately I got there too late, everything I wanted was sold out. Most of all their products was sold out. The staff informed me that has never happen before early in the day. It was Mardi Gras- Fat Tuesday. In hawaii it's celebrated by buying Malasadas. They have such great pastries. Maybe next time I'm in the neighborhood. I'll go and get my favorites. Highly recommended.

Came here for the first time in a looooong time. I always order the famous Poi Glazed donuts. It’s so good and delicious. The right amount of glazed sugar all over the fried malasada poi flavored donuts. They have many other varieties, but this is my favorite. Line can get long so you can also phone order. We arrived at 5am, 2 hours after opening, there was still tons of donuts left. Everything was fresh and melt in your mouth. The donuts were extremely cheap 7 donuts for 13 dollars and probably the best I’ve ever had. There was a line when I arrived but service was speedy. Just be careful, the location is not the best and there were 2 homeless men outside the door waiting and asking for donuts.

The BEST place for pastries. Down to earth people, nothing fancy. They open very early so if you get a flight or early morning project site, they got your back! Poi donuts, undefeated!

Best Bakery on Oahu — Worth the Drive! Kamehameha Bakery Inc is hands down the best bakery on Oahu! I drive all the way from Kailua just to get a bite of their incredible treats — and let me tell you, it’s always worth it. My absolute favorite is the poi donut with coconut filling — soft, flavorful, and unlike anything else you’ll find. This place is a must-visit if you’re ever in Hawaiʻi. Just make sure to go early because the lines can get long — it’s that popular and for good reason. The aunties behind the counter are sweet, welcoming, and clearly know what they’re doing. Every item I’ve tried is made with love and packed with flavor. Local, authentic, and consistently amazing — Kamehameha Bakery is a true island gem. 🌺🍩

Order was placed one day ahead for 4 boxes (48 each) of strawberry and poi donuts without issue. The orders were completed and picked up on time. Poi donuts were still warm when it was put out for consumption in our office. Perfect celebratory/any occasion dessert or just because.

The best bakery I’ve ever been to bar none. Every single little baked good is so amazing. Would recommend the poi glazed malasada. It’s literally insane.

Cute old school bakery where you can get no hassle baked treats at a reasonable price. Pastries were yummy, service was fast and the staff were so friendly! They prefer cash for payment. I left my food in the bakery and the staff actually ran after me which makes me appreciate them going above and beyond for giving their exceptional service. Too bad there are no seating though. Definitely will come back when I'm nearby!

Bakery
Nanding's Bakery is a Filipino bakery that has been in operation since 2001. It offers a variety of Filipino baked goods such as Spanish rolls, Ube loaf, Pianono Rolls, Cheese mamon, and more. Customers rave about the warm Spanish rolls with butter and the barely sweet and salty breadsticks. The bakery also serves Paul's Custard Pie or Pumpkin Pie as well as other pastries like Ensaymada and adobo roll.
Hot buttery sweet Spanish Rolls, need I say more! You can never just eat one and you need to eat them hot. They give them to you freshly made so before you start the car and drive I would suggest you get a napkin and grub down. They have other pastries and service is quick just parking is very limited I think I saw 4 spots only.

GET HERE IMMEDIATELY AND GET THESE ROLLS AS FAST AS YOU CAN 😍 I arrived at 2:30 pm and waited 10 minutes to get these babies fresh and warm 🔥 Some of the best bread you’ll have in your life I bet.

Nanding's is a true Filipino bakery! If you want to feel like you are walking into a bakery in the Philippines then drove to Kalihi and go to Nanding's. If you don't speak Tagalog then have some patience be respectful and point at what you want. It is in an area where industry and houses meet. So be aware there are fork trucks driving nearby. Like every here parking is limited.

Delicious and warm Spanish bread! Friendly staff, take out only.

No fuss bakery with nice selection of bakery goods. Their Spanish rolls are divine. So easy to “accidentally” eat half a dozen by yourself in one go. A must try.

3/7/2022 I was in the area and wanting a blueberry scone so I decided to stop in. Boo! No blueberry scones, only chocolate chip. Oh well, I got 4 ube rolls, an Ensaymada, and an adobo roll for $9.15. Asked about the scallion twists but she said they don't make them anymore. Another boo! Ube rolls were for the hubby so I don't know how they were but the Ensaymada was fresh and delicious. The adobo roll was just okay. Tender pork inside but not a real adobo (vinegary) flavor. Tasted like plain, shredded pork. 2/21/2022 Very few parking spaces in the front but we were lucky to snag a spot today. We were looking to pick up scallion twists because we haven't been able to get them from the Waipahu Nanding's. Unfortunately, the lady said that they didn't have them today. I ended up just getting an Ensaymada and a blueberry scone for around $4 and change. Ensaymada was soft and fluffy as usual! The blueberry scone was delicious as well.

My favorite place to get Spanish rolls and ensaymadas. Parking is a bit of a problem if they are busy (three stalls). Th box of Spanish rolls had 15 in them. I already ate 3 after being home for a few minutes. 😂Sooooo good. 😋

Lee's Bakery & Kitchen is a delightful spot nestled in the heart of Chinatown, renowned for its exceptional custard pie. This creamy treat has a perfectly flaky crust that will change your perception of custard pies if you've had bad experiences before. Even if you don't have a special occasion, it's hard to resist picking one up on a whim!
Lucky to go there today without a line! Custard pie is so creamy! Also tried their pineapple bun, and other pastries for my kids, which they'll definitely love. The people there are sooo nice! 🙏

Still the best custard pie that I’ve ever tasted. It’s sweeter and the texture is like flan. It came right out the oven so it was soooo warm. Staff are friendly and fast. Paid parking in the back on Ala Moana Blvd. It’s better to phone order because they do sell out.

4/13/2022 A long time ago, during the holidays, my hubby went to a dinner and brought me home a slice of custard pie. Now, I'm a fan of pie but not custard pie because I've tried many awful ones. He kept telling me to try it, even though he knows I don't like custard pie. I'm sure glad I did. As soon as I took the first bite, I instantly changed my mind about custard pie. Lee's Bakery & Kitchen has THE BEST CUSTARD PIE! It's creamy, not too sweet, and the perfect texture. The crust is flaky and not super thick. Glad that my brother-in-law loves it so much that he's willing to stand in the long holiday line to get it and share with us! Today, was the first time I went to Lee's. Didn't get a custard pie since we already have dessert for this weekend's dinner with my brother-in-law. Instead, I got a Pineapple Bun, a Glazed Donut, a Hong Kong Bun, a Tuna Bun, and a Char Siu Manapua. The Hong Kong Bun was because I asked the friendly lady which item was the most popular or favorite of customers and she suggested that bun. It came out to $8 and change. So far today, I ate the Glazed Donut, part of the Hong Kong Bun, and the Tuna Bun. That Tuna Bun was stuffed with tuna and the bread was so light and fluffy. Yum! The Hong Kong Bun was like a delicious butter roll, and the Glazed Donut was airy and not super sweet. I'm sure the other items will be scrumptious as well. I love Lee's Bakery & Kitchen!

When getting a custard pie I don’t know of a better place to go. There is also a wide selection of other baked goods as well. Parking isn’t the easiest. But you can call in an order and just run in and pick up if you have some drive around the block.

Chen siu su and the buttered bread here was really good ... very friendly service. The surrounding area isn't great, or maybe just kinda more in your face in Hawaii
David B — Google review
It was so smooth and melted in a mouth. I tasted many custard pies in Honolulu, this is the best one! Crust is thin, but firm enough to hold the pie. Just right sweetness and creamy custard. Number one recommended custard pie for sure. And I recommend to call them to hold it, other than that you will not see it in the store!

Lee's bakery is by far absolutely the best place to buy baked goods. They have nothing that isn't phenomenal. You can actually taste the love and effort that they put in every single donut. Plus they are always so polite and welcoming. You couldn't pay me to go anywhere else. Every single baked good that's myself and my picky family of 6 hat hat has been hit.

BRUG Bakery Lanai at Ala Moana, located in the bustling Lanai food court, is a beloved destination for both locals and tourists. Their bread offerings, including fluffy soft raisin bread, Hokkaido anpan with slightly less sweet red bean paste, and mochi bread, are popular and disappear quickly due to their exceptional quality. The bakery also offers delectable sausage rolls that exceed expectations.
This week was an extra rotten week, so to cheer everyone up, Brug was delivered to us by my mom. I love Brug. The Matcha Turtles🐢, Apple 🍎 Cinnamon Custard Danish,Cream Cheese Bomb, Brug curry, Kuma Chocolate Custard and creamy tomato soup are among my favorites when they first opened. Today we had a variety of goodies, each person having their own personal favorites. I don’t know the official name of the baked goods, but i will put a brief description of each one. Very tasty and delicious baked goods offered with pleasant staff. Family Favorite Spot for us! 07/05/2023 My mom bought me a Kaeru (frog) Choco Matcha Melon Pan. It was so adorable!! 😍 Filled with chocolate! If u heat it around 30 seconds it gets nice and melty. I really missed the Kame (turtle) Matcha Melon Pan so i was so happy to get one of these! 09/13/2023 My mom grabbed me a hot dog, curry pan, Ichigo Neko (Strawberry Cat) and a New Limited item I never tried before. She can’t remember the entire name but said it was a pineapple cream. It was so delicious!!! A adorable pineapple shaped pan with chunks of pineapple, cream and shredded coconut!! Yum! Grab one while u still can! 12/01/2024 Pictures updated!

Absolutely divine! BRUG Bakery’s daily fresh-baked goods, made with premium Hokkaido Mainz flour and no artificial preservatives, coloring or other additives (thank you!!), are pure perfection—soft, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Standouts include the Blueberry & Cream Cheese Mini Loaf, Cranberry Fromage, Mango Custard Hermit Crab (so cute and dipped in white chocolate!), and the pillowy Piggy Pan with teriyaki pork belly char siu. Every visit is a culinary adventure, with endless shelves of artfully crafted treats that make choosing nearly impossible. Hands-down, O’ahu’s finest bakery—thank you, BRUG, for bringing your magic here!

I came for the 11 yr anniversary sale. I tried the mini pizzas the croisants and the sausage rolls and the chocolate covered croisants. I also tried both donuts. I brought all of the items home to Minnesota, everything stayed fresh the sale was fun I will come back again looking forward to trying the little bear pastries. Everyone was so polite. The line was long but moved very fast and was worth it.

Nestled within the bustling Lanai food court at the Ala Moana Center, this bakery has firmly established itself as a beloved destination for both locals and tourists alike. It's no surprise that their bread offerings disappear in the blink of an eye as soon as they're set out, a testament to their exceptional quality and popularity. During my visit, I had the pleasure of savoring their delectable sausage rolls, and I must say they exceeded my expectations. The perfect blend of flaky pastry and savory sausage filling made for a delightful snack. However, the star of the show was undoubtedly their Kona coffee pudding – a culinary masterpiece. Its rich, coffee-infused flavor left a lasting impression, and it's a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth. Beyond the sumptuous treats, this bakery is strategically positioned for travelers. Grabbing some of their freshly baked and delicious bread before heading to the airport is a brilliant idea. It ensures a tasty in-flight meal that you can savor even after your departure. In essence, this bakery is a hidden gem in the heart of Ala Moana, offering a taste of paradise that's not to be missed.

Wallflour Bake Shop is a delightful gem that keeps your taste buds on their toes with an ever-evolving menu of pastries and breads. Run by the talented bakers Ellen Stavro and Javier Flores, this bakery showcases a commitment to precision in flavor and texture, honed from their fine dining backgrounds.
Wall Flour Bake Shop in Honolulu offers a great mix of creative and comforting pastries. I tried the Cream Cheese Guava Danish, Chocolate Hazelnut Swirl, and Sweet Potato Casserole Pastry, and here’s the scoop: • Cream Cheese Guava Danish: Flaky, buttery, and the perfect balance of tangy cream cheese and sweet guava. A must-try! • Chocolate Hazelnut Swirl: Rich and nutty, though the chocolate could’ve been a bit more intense. Still delicious. • Sweet Potato Casserole Pastry: Comforting with earthy sweet potato and cinnamon flavors, topped with just the right amount of marshmallow. The cozy vibe and friendly service add to the experience. If you’re in Honolulu, definitely stop by for a tasty treat!

Love this bakery. Everything we had was delicious. I recommend the passion fruit tart, lilikoi sticky bun, or the cream cheese guava danish if you are looking for tropical flavors. The ham and gruyere croissant was yummy if you are looking for something savory. Vanilla donuts were light and airy and not too sweet. Looking for sweet and salty, try the pretzel Maritozzi. We'll definitely be back the next time we are on Oahu.

Breadshop is a small bakery located in Kaimuki, offering a variety of artisanal breads such as focaccia and brioche. The bakery's owner, Chris Sy, started with limited quantities at farmers' markets and medical schools before establishing the brick-and-mortar location. The bakery has gained popularity for its country loaves, furikake focaccia, and ever-evolving pastry creations like kulolo Danish and smoked carrot pastry.
Great bakery in Honolulu. The plain croissant was flaky, crispy and flavourful as any amazing croissant I've had on the mainland. I'd eat it again in a heartbeat. I also got a Danish with a local fruit. Not sure how to write the fruits name but it was mild in flavour and tasty with everything else on the danish. Highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the city. You can also order online and pick up. If you don't, you get to pick whatever is left for the day. They had a little of everything baked today when I walked over from Waikiki.

Waialae bread shop- my favorite is the French bread, so much classy and tasty than the Cosco French bread. I could tell that its made with special care & ingredients. Sourdough loaves and baguet is my second favorite. Taegu spinach manchego croissant is an interesting one. I made this garlic oil dip that goes perfectly well.

Can't beat a local bread shop that makes delicious baked goods at unbeatable prices. Ordering is easy online and pick up is quick and efficient. Parking is available in a parking lot behind/adjacent to the building. All of the breads and baked goods are larger than you'd expect. The ciabatta is over a foot long and the slice of potato focaccia was the entire length of the bakery box (started eating before I remembered to snap a photo 😅).

Some of the best pastries I've had in the world. Bookmarking this on my worldwide favourites list. Taeggu spinach manchego croissant - 5 stars I'm not usually a croissant person, and this was on the greasy side, but the filling blew me away. Sweet, savoury and umami in perfect balance. Mushroom danish - 5 stars Great filling, drier than the croissant. I prefer the drier texture as I don't usually like the feeling of grease on my lips. I think the wetter taeggu filling would actually go well with this pastry since it's a wetter filling. Crisp bread - 4.5 stars Salty but fragrant and great texture.

finally visited Breadshop after hearing so many people rave about it, and truly exceeded all of my expectations! for our first time, we ordered the Brioche, Mango Cheesecake Brioche Tart, and Taegu Spinach Manchego Croissant. Everything tasted truly divine and the flavour profiles were also very unique and harmonious. The texture of the bread and the pastries were perfect and we will definitely be back soon to try other breads and pastries! There's a small parking lot with the first hour of parking free, as well as a few tables and chairs in the shade which were convenient. The online ordering process was smooth and easy, and an email notification was sent when my order was ready for pickup. Incredible experience all-round at Breadshop and this bakery will definitely be on my regular rotation 🥰😌🩷

I’d heard whispers about this carb-loaded praise about this place. People were walking away looking like they’d just found true love… in a paper bag of fresh-baked goodness. I managed to swoop in right as they pulled the brioche from the oven, according to their top-secret (but publicly posted) bake schedule. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The smell alone could’ve solved world peace. That warm, doughy cloud hit my face and suddenly my heart felt like it was wrapped in a buttery hug. Brioche, with its rich ingredients, is like the fancy cousin of regular bread, sweet, soft, a little bougie, but still down to earth. Not as buttery as a croissant, not as sugary as a cookie… just perfectly balanced. The brioche lives in the moment. By the next day, it lost a bit of its pillowy charm. But pop it in the toaster, slap on some butter, honey, or your jam of choice and BOOM. You’re right back in that cozy little moment of joy.

Best baked goods on island! So much bread variety, from the classic city loaf to pumpernickel and beet rye. Nestled in a charming corner, Beyond Pastry Studio is a delightful haven for pastry lovers. The talented Cristina Nishioka takes pride in using authentic local ube, crafting her signature ube cream cheese ensaymada that stands out as one of the lightest treats around. If you’re lucky enough to visit on Filipino Pastry Fridays, you'll be treated to an array of mouthwatering delights like chicken adobo pandesal and jackfruit cake.
I ate my pastries so fast they didn't get photographed. I asked the person helping me what some of her favorites were and she recommended the futakake hot dog roll (sorry if I got the name wrong). They also had shitake mushroom and cheese roll hot out of the oven and it was a delight. Normally I do not go for that sort of item but this was savory and filling. The ham and cheese roll was decadent and light as well. Saving the Ube sugar roll for later! I will definitely be coming back for more treats! 10/10.

Attending a workshop at Beyond Pastry Studio had been on my bucket list for a long time, and I’m so happy I finally got to experience it. I have zero baking experience, but the class was thoughtfully designed for all skill levels. Christina, the owner, is incredibly generous with her knowledge. We made several of their signature pastries, received recipes, and took home everything we made. Needless to say, the baking experience was a blast, but what touched me most was witnessing the genuine love and support this bakery receives from the community. People have such deep respect for Christina, her craft, and the joy she brings through her creations. I can’t recommend the bakery or the workshops enough. After this experience, you’ll appreciate her pastries on a whole new level. Thank you again!

My wife has been telling me about this wonderful pastry place and she finally brought me a blueberry pastry thing to try. Oh man this place is good! Perfect amount of sugar and blueberries and it’s mixed nicely throughout the pastry (unlike other places where it looks so good but is just on the top). I ate some of it and left the rest in the fridge and forgot about it for a few days. I finally remembered and had the rest and it was still delicious after 10 seconds in the microwave. I don’t know if that’s an official type of test, but to me it just tells me they use great ingredients and good ratios. I just updated my photos as I got to go inside. Oh my gosh this place is good.

I've wanted to gatekeep BPS for a long time because it's always been my happy place near work that I can always sneak away to get something to treat myself. So when one of my close friends wanted to do a full tasting and review of BPS, I was close to begging to be on the tasting committee. Christina and her team are always so friendly and helpful, especially when you're like myself and want to try all of their items! BPS as a whole is a beautiful company focused on sharing the flavorful culture (pun intended obvi) of being Filipino. All the love, care, and culture can be tasted in every bite of literally anything the team curates. The ingredients are always so fresh and Christina's years of expertise and experience on everything tasty is truly embodied in any and all of the pastries offered at Beyond Pastry Studio. Honorable mentions: Chocolate decadence cake, Pork Sisig pastry, and personal fave is the Malunggay Mushroom Balsamic nest. Whether, visiting or local, Enjoy Filipino Pastry Friday AND the now extended Filipino Food Week (thru 10/31) to continue sharing the flavors of the Philippines. Big ups to Christina and her team for doing their big one!

Run by Megumi Watanabe Albritton, this charming spot is renowned for its fresh fruit tart, featuring a luscious layer of almond cream and topped with vibrant fruits. The star of the show is undoubtedly their Japanese strawberry shortcake—an elegant creation made with soft sponge cake, real whipped cream, and perfectly tart strawberries that harmonize beautifully with the sweetness.

CakeM Honolulu is a charming little bakery with a limited outdoor seating area, perfect for a quick bite or a leisurely afternoon treat. Despite its small size, the bakery offers a variety of delicious cakes and pastries. The bakery wasn't busy when I visited. The service was friendly and efficient. I decided to try their signature strawberry shortcake, and it was a delightful choice. The cake was light and fluffy, with a perfect balance of sweetness. The fresh strawberries added a wonderful burst of flavor. While the limited seating might be a drawback for those looking for a more extensive dining experience, CakeM Honolulu is definitely worth a visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.

We ordered a birthday cake for a relative. It was a small maybe 6inch Paid roughly $100 for it. No problems there as it was advertised and it’s what we paid for. Here’s the problem though, When we received the cake we had to sign a waiver for damages and such(something we never had to do at other bakeries) so kind of a red flag there. We left thinking. Nothing of it though. We noticed when we got to the car though, that the cake was already hitting the side of the box, like it was basically ruined lol We opened up the box to find that the cake itself was deflating on one side and drooping. It literally looked like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It was so shameful to present to our relative. He was obviously disappointed too. The taste of the cake was nothing special but it wasn’t terrible. Very disappointed for the amount we paid and the result we got, unable to do much because of the waiver we had to sign. Buyers beware of this cake shop, i would highly recommend somewhere else.

CakeM to the rescue! Their strawberry shortcake slice was the perfect ‘Happy Birthday’ surprise—thank you! They even added a ‘Happy Birthday’ message on a small chocolate heart, which turned out perfectly. The cake itself was done in the Japanese style—light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, without the excessive sugar you often find in American cakes. Quick, wonderful service, and thoughtfully packed! Thank you for saving the day! 😊

Small and beautiful Japanese style (French style?) cakes. Shop is pretty too. Not too sweet like American especially like Hawaiian sweets. Very polite Japanese-English bilingual stuff members. Everything is very Japanesey. I would go back again! (Cakes in my photo look squished only because of my driving. They looked perfect when I got them)

First off, this review is a mixture of the in house desserts and the custom cupcakes I had ordered. My dad had their cream puffs and loved it. Said it was the best he had so far in Hawaii. I also had their strawberry shortcake and thought it was ok (had better). Now on to the custom cupcakes! The design of the cupcakes were ADORABLE. Just what we had asked for. However, upon the first bite I was left confused. I clearly remembered ordering cupcakes, not corn bread. It wasn't even good corn bread. Super dry. The butter cream frosting tasted like room temp butter mixed with sugar. (I love frosting btw so not biased!) All in all, a huge disappointment because if I wanted corn bread, I would just go Zippys and not pay $5 per. I think their custom cakes are probably ok (based on the strawberry shortcake).. but I would give the cupcakes a hard pass. Do try the cream puffs though. (The 2 stars is for the cream puffs and design of the cupcakes.)

I believe they only serve on Wednesday and Thursday), chocolate cake, fruit tart, lemon tart... and they were all amazing! They serve local grown coffee and tea (Lilikoi tea). I will definitely go back again!!!

Diamond Head Market & Grill is a popular spot just a short distance from Waikiki, offering a variety of American dishes and prepared foods. Whether you're looking for gourmet sandwiches, bento boxes, salads, or local favorites like loco moco and teriyaki burger plates, this window-serve grill has something for everyone. Additionally, the indoor market provides freshly made pre-packaged meals and an array of delicious desserts to choose from.
I love getting my lunch and dinner from here. Place your order at the grill counter outside, then walk in to the market where they have great salads, sandwiches and cakes and pastries. I love their ham sandwich, chocolate ganache cake and carrot cake but I am sure everything else is just as good. I tend to stick to my picks although I really should try the other items they have as well. From the grill, the garlic shrimp is excellent and same for the hamburger steak plate and loco Moco. What else can I say….. it’s a really good place to grab a quick meal.

I’ve never been here before but my brother said the food good and he knows the owner from our hometown in Waipahu. I didn’t know I was going spend over $100 total. But it was worth it. Got 5 mixed plates and over $30 worth of deserts. The blueberry scone was so big, can feed 3 people. And the pumpkin crunch was so ono I never like share. The plate lunch had so much meat I could eat for days. And the people that work there were nice, friendly and making us laugh about the deserts. Mahalo Diamond Grill for the awesome food and hospitality.

Affordable, local bakery and take out grill. Their blueberry scones are delicious and more cake like, very moist. Also love their Okinawa sweet potato haupia pie. All the deserts are fantastic. It’s a must stop and worth the extra calories. We walked from our hotel 1.7 miles just to get there so we could burn calories while eating the tasty sweets. We also tried the salmon salad, salmon burger , teriyaki chicken with side salad and rice. All very Delicious. Just make sure you allow for 20-30 mins for them to cook the food as it’s made to order and there are several orders during busy times. Pricing is very affordable for Waikīkī / Honolulu area. must stop to try their foods.

What a great store—it’s the perfect place to grab lunch or a quick snack. They’re well known for their scones, and the banana scones were so moist and delicious. I’m looking forward to trying the lamb sandwich next time!

This place is an absolute hidden gem. EXCELLENT from scratch food, incredibly reasonably priced, and a bakery with made-in-house desserts inside. Not only would I stop here again, I’d make a trip to Honolulu to go here. Especially recommend the honey lemonade, mixed plate, and teriyaki chicken

Best scones on island? Yups🤙Tucked away off Monserrat Avenue near Diamond Head Crater and HCC is where this Market/grill/bakery is located. When you crave those blueberry cream cheese scones you gotta go here early... Snooze you lose. Moist and filling, a perfect complement to a fresh brewed coffee. Always grab the blueberry scones though recently the banana scones have been another favorite of mine too🤙5 stars.

10+ years of chowing down here and I’m still obsessed. Teriyaki chicken rice plate? SLAPS. I get all rice, extra chicken, and I’m basically food-coma’d till tomorrow. But the real MVP? The cheesecake hiding in the bakery like it’s some undercover dessert boss—thick crust, melts in your mouth, topped with mango + blueberries. They don’t hype it up, but they 1000% should. Don’t sleep on it!
Daniel — Google review
I love their plantation iced tea. I order from other places but it doesn't taste the same. I also had hamburger steak. It's topped with grilled onions. It's not one of those frozen patties, its actually made and grilled. IMO, that's what makes it so ono! I had it with tossed salad with their house dressing. If you know, you know! Everyone was very kind and friendly. Did you know? They have leis and flowers! I got the ginger and heleconias. Perfect for the graves. It stood out and looked beautiful. I'm sure my mom and aunts loves it. Special thanks to Loretta who helped me. In conclusion, a place for great food, flowers, & leis!

Great Authentic Hawaiian food! Lots of options! Good service! We were a family of 20, and we were treated like family. Will definitely come back!
Benedict M — Google review
Stay away from this place unless you truly have no other options but it is not worth your money ‼️ We were seated by a very nice waiter who took our order, and that was it! We couldn’t find him afterward, and if you try asking any other waiter for help, they won’t respond because they’re “not assigned” to your area. Imagine this: I needed a fork and knife. I saw some near the kitchen and noticed a waiter standing right next to them. I politely asked if he could hand them to me, and he said, “No, I can’t. You need to ask your waiter for that.” I waited another 5 minutes, but our waiter still didn’t show up. Eventually, I went and grabbed them myself from the other side. Our order was sitting right in front of us (we were seated near the kitchen) for at least 10 minutes before anyone brought it over only after I pointed it out to the waiter! The burger was tiny, and the service was horrible. On top of that, I ordered my steak well-done, but because the restaurant was busy, they served it medium-well instead. That was a Monday, I can’t imagine how the weekend would look like. Never going back again‼️

Stopped in to pick up a few sweet treats and loved them! They have a fantastic array of baked goods, from your standard donuts and muffins to croissants and danishes. However, some unique options I recommend trying are the mochi donuts and my personal favorite, the coco puff. It’s a puffed pastry with cold chocolate cream in the middle and your choice of topping ex coconut, green tea, etc. While I didn’t take advantage of the diner side, there is a counter where you can sit and eat a regular meal. There’s plenty of parking outside as well.
Isabel Y — Google review
Fantastic staffing and amazing food in terms of quality and price! They have a funny table back in the bakery kitchen that is so clean and very fun to experience. All of this made us come here twice during our 4-day trip!
Omid K — Google review
This is the original location that started it all. ATMOSPHERE: Parking is pretty plentiful. It's a simple and bustling bakery along with a long dining counter which seats about 20 or so. There was a line of about 10 people ahead of us. Turn over was pretty quick as we sat in about 20 minutes. Reservations are not taken. You get an up front seat of the food being made. MENU: It's a mix of local and American diner fare, and of course the bakery with all kinds of things. FOOD: Butter Rolls House rolls these days are a rarity! Sinfully buttery and moist, the included sweet dipping sauce isn't necessary. Hamburger Steak While it's a very mainstream dish, the highlight was the taste of the homemade patty. It had a nice crust to it and had a great grilled flavor. The gravy was light brown and mildly salty. The mac salad was very good. The entrees normally come with sides of a butter roll and rice, or you can opt for all rice which I did. Luckily my friend did not eat all of her butter roll so I got to try some and it was delish! Hotcake The single piece was big, delicious and creamy. SERVICE: The ladies who work behind the counter all multi-task - cook/serve/bus/cashier and all were so friendly, patient, professional, and helped each other out. OVERALL: Good food, average prices, friendly service.
Maui T — Google review
Great bakery and diner, got the loco moco, and the macnut waffle, both were really delicious. The loco moco had that Smokey taste from the grill, and the macnut waffle was light and crispy, the butter that came with it was very flavorful. Also ordered some pastries. Service was good, the place gives you an old diner.

I love this bakery! Lots of parking, service was a promt, this place can get busy, they have overflow tables in the kitchen! So you can actually see all the desserts being made! Pretty cool! Ambiance is slightly on the noisy side but still able to hold conversation! I've been here several times and the food is nothing short of amazing! Ordered: Butter rolls - 10/10 perfectly grilled nice and crispy! So good I crave it. MacNut Waffles with fruit - 10/10 perfectly cooked, nice and crispy has a nice bite! No need for syrup cause the macadamia sweetens it naturally! Fruit and whip cream were a nice added touch ! Steak and eggs 10/10 cooked to perfection! I opted to upgrade from regular rice to fried rice; fried rice was great! Cheese burger deluxe 10/10 so satisfying the patty was cooked ourfectoy and had a nice char to it, It was so good I didn't take a picture! Buns were nice and toasted well, their potato crisps are nice circle potatoe with a nice width very different but paired well with the burger! Perfectly seasoned too! Loco moco with egg 10/10 the gravy was bomb, about of rice was great! Nice char burger meat, perfectly seasoned ! Perfect plate, and would definitely order again! Coffee - 10/10 free refills, great bold coffee! Desserts: Cream puff, coco puff, matcha puff - 10/10 they are known for it! It's perfect and not as sweet as other places! All desserts are made in house, which I appreciate it! Quality food and desserts! Highly recommend this place!

It was okay. We bought quite a bit of stuff and everything was just meh. I bought some brioche dinner rolls and some brioche hamburger buns. Both of those are okay. Nothing spectacular. Also ordered a blueberry cream cheese cake. We shared that with a bunch of different people and they all felt that it was subpar. Also ordered a coconut lemon cake which was also just okay. Nothing spectacular. We had some oatmeal raisin chocolate cookies. Those were just okay as well. They had these cream puffs which were quite delicious. I would get those again. Or maybe try some other things.

This place was great! The pastries were out of this world delicious. My iced vanilla latte was very good. I’m not a “coffee” drinker but I did buy some to take home because the flavors sound amazing. This place is so busy, I arrived at 6:50am and there were already 30 people in front of me. The line did move quickly so don’t let the long line deter your visit.
Tracy W — Google review
Another one of our breakfast choices was this place, mainly because it was close to our hotel. Of course, the large number of positive reviews also caught our attention. The prices seemed a bit higher than in other spots, but let’s set that aside. I had a mushroom sandwich (or something along those lines), and it was fairly tasty, but it didn’t leave much of an impression on me. What really stood out, though, was the coffee — and not in a good way. Honestly, it was terrible. Probably one of the worst coffees I’ve ever had. It was extremely bitter and just not enjoyable at all. Even my iced coffee was bad, and as for the hot coffee my friends ordered — it was awful too. I really don’t recommend ordering coffee here. Overall, I don’t think I would come back.
Iryna Y — Google review
This place has pretty good coffee and pastries however a constant one hour line does NOT make it worth it. Not enough staff to provide service and make it a smooth experience. Definitely worth going to other places for coffee considering this line and service ruins the experience. My 2 year old knows better manners than these passive aggressive baristas. For a hospitality cafe we were really disappointed.
Amanda C — Google review
This is a very popular place for their Black Sesame Kouign Amann. Their coffee is so smooth and good! People wait in line even before this place opens. I always come every time I'm in Oahu and it's highly recommended. Hack: if you're buying a bag of coffee, you can go directly to the register that's near the bagged coffee and select your coffee and also order drinks and pastries.

☕️✨ A must-stop in Honolulu! Kona Coffee Purveyors serves up incredible drinks + pastries baked fresh in store 🥐 Black Sesame Latte was so unique & nutty 💯. I loved their drinks Liam’s punch and the honey latte as well!! ✔️ My picks: • 🍫 Chocolate Kouign-Amann • 🍫🍌 Chocolate Banana Croissant • 🧀 Savoury Croissant Line was crazy long at opening time, definitely recommend getting there early
Melzy P — Google review
I visited around 11 AM. The line took about 20 minutes and then a few more for the coffee. Cold brew (small - $6.25) was delicious. It tasted nutty and chocolaty, and very smooth. I also had their coconut and pineapple croissant ($6.25) which was surprisingly good. It was not too sweet but definitely had the pineapple flavour. I'll be coming back!
Claire C — Google review
The iced coffee and the Affogato are spectacular!!!! There is a long line most of the time, but it's not a dramatic wait time. The pasties they sell also look yummy. We went back twice because it was good each time.
Nwoo — Google review
Expect about a 45 minute wait if you get in line backed up to the Hilton grand vacations booth. It took us 47 minutes from getting in line back there to when we got to order. Then another 15 minutes to get the coffee. So about an hour total. The good: The lemon tart was the best I’ve ever had, and the other pastries were really good too. The bad: My wife loves coffee and threw it away after only a few sips, she said she was actually pretty disappointed with it, especially after waiting for an hour for it. Overall, not worth the wait and likely won’t be back since there is always a line.

2025 update: chocolate chip cookie recipe may have changed a little. I recently went there to get some cc cookies and they didn’t taste as good as previously. So currently rating down to 3/5. Chocolate chip cookies are great! You have to try these. They are very crispy and fresh. Some of the best I’ve had in a while. Shortbread cookies are good too.

Delicious assortment of cakes and bread rolls. We tried the an, coconut cream, spam and egg rolls as well as the lychee mousse cake. The rolls are lightly sweet and fluffy and go perfectly with whichever filling you choose, whether savory or sweet. The lychee mousse is delicately flavored and I could have eaten a whole cake! During the month leading up to the mid-autumn festival, they offer an assortment of moon cakes. We tried the lotus paste with one yolk and coconut. Both are delicious with a cup of tea. Very friendly and helpful staff. 10/10 will be back soon.

I was told by about this bakery and decided to try it out. The cake I bought (strawberry shortcake) was very good! It was fresh and well made. I would recommend this bakery if you have a sweet tooth, or shopping for a birthday cake as I was. The quality is much better than at Baskin Robbins. My second visit is when I got the chocolate dream and the mango mousse.

This is such a cute little bakery. We bought a few pastries, a chocolate cake slice, and a whole tiramisu cake. The pastries are light and fluffy. The cakes are not overly sweet. Everything was delicious. I wish I got a picture of everything we got but it was so good we just consumed it all.

Nene Goose Bakery is a charming family-owned bakery known for its delectable baked goods and breads. The bakery offers an array of treats, including rolls filled with savory options like meat, cheese, or vegetables. Visitors rave about the Japanese-style breads and pastries such as mochi anpan, spinach bread, and chocolate-covered cinnamon rolls.
I’ve been wanting to go to this bakery since last year before covid. I am so happy to have gotten a chance to be there this weekend. This is a small bakery. I was after for Anpan (sweet bean filling) roll. So lucky to have secured few. The most famous one is Anpan with mochi inside. Our neighbor can’t eat enough of it. We got there around 9am on Saturday morning. So many trays were emptied out already. That is why I feel very lucky to get what I was there for - Anpan. One customer (w/family) at a time, so you expect to wait outside. I enjoyed each bread. You can tell how it is baked with care and careful attention to the detail which is Japanese is very good at. Besides Anpan, I really enjoyed Coconut Cinnamon Roll. Wow, it was yummy! Can’t wait to go back there to get cinnamon rolls already.

Enjoyed the pastries we bought. My wife loved the spinach bread. I love supporting locals and will continue to come here when I'm in Kailua. I just wished they didn't sell out so early. I had the chocolate donut which had the perfect chewy consistency and the chocolate was nice and rich. I'd definitely eat a few of those the next time. Support local and swing by this small bakery that's been around since the 90s.

Cute bakery in Kailua. Took a nice morning drive with mom to check this place out. Yummy Janpanese style bread!! Cute little store and the owner is very nice and friendly! This place is a must!! Their breakfast pizzas and muffins seemed to be made with their spinach dough. My favorite was the egg pizza and spinach muffin. I warmed it up in my airfryer for about 3 mins and it came out crispy on the outside and fluffy/airy on the inside!! Tried their mochi anpan (a must), glazed donut buttermilk donut, and apple roll. They were all amazing!! Fluffy and not as sweet... just right... reminded me of the bakeries I tried in Japan. I will definitely revisit!! Recommend going there early if you plan to go since they only allow 1 cutomer/family at a time and there will be a line.

When you are craving coffee or something sweet, near Young st and Pensacola is Raintree bakery Coffeehouse. It's a quiet place to unplug from town life. You can get something to go but I suggest that you sit down and have the waiter serve you. If you close your eyes and listen to the old time music, the milk steaming, muffled conversations around you. You can get the feel of being in a European cafe' without the pesky travel nor the odd smell of Europe. From the preparation of the coffee to the taste of the pastry, everything was spot on. Know that this isn't a corporate coffee house so leave your Starbucks expectations at the door. This is what coffee is meant to be about. It's how it started and the love of coffee it continues, for those with discerning taste. The deserts were made not just to perfection. They were made with love. If you want to see and experience people that love whether they do then stop in here. I wish they sold that magic I'd take a bag home with me.

Somewhat whimsical, quiet cafe with friendly and attentive staff. Their commitment to good organic food is clear through the flavor, and through their excitement to talk about it. It's clearly something they are passionate about and I always love seeing that in local cafes. It wasnt the best matcha I've ever had but I really liked how flavorful the house made almond milk was- they made it just before I walked in! The lilikoi bar was scrumptious as well. Overall the prices are a little high but if organic food is your thing, I'd say it's reasonable if you're dining in long enough to enjoy the place.
Maya H — Google review
The moment I walked into the coffeehouse, I was drawn into a wonderful storybook world! I was hungry after my third trimester of pregnancy checkup at Kaiser, so I walked in and casually walked into this place. I became a fan of this coffeehouse the moment I entered! It's like a quiet, magical place in between the hustle and bustle of the city! Plus the staff that showed up were nice older uncles. Very helpful, friendly, and they wear pretty red hats! I wanted the recommended matcha latte, but they were concerned about my pregnancy and suggested the mint iced tea. They served me the mint iced tea first while I was waiting for the turkey panini I ordered for takeout. The coffeehouse is surprisingly spacious and the atmosphere is so quiet and relaxed that the hustle and bustle outside is unthinkable. Each table is decorated with fresh flowers and is clean. I also took out a banana walnut muffin and lilikoi cheesecake. They were all delicious and organic attention to detail! The large muffins were moist and filling! Lilikoi lovers should definitely try this cheesecake! Anyway I love the world view of this place! Now I want to spend some time in the store.

One of the OG bakeries in Honolulu, Epi-Ya changed owners during COVID but is still going strong. I've visited this bakery whenever I need dinner butter rolls or pastries for work. They offer a large variety of pans, buns, and rolls at reasonable prices. Like most bakeries, grab a tray, tongs and wax paper near the entrance before you start grabbing your pastries. Out of respect dont take a pastry and put it back. Grab what you will buy. I highly recommend this place. The service is often slow, even when it's busy, but the amazing smell and vast bread options give you plenty of time to wander around until you're ready to buy. I was going to take more pictures inside but it was a busy day.

Nice bakery but I think it would've taste better if I came earlier when it's fresh out the oven. The shio butter roll was pretty good. I like that they use real sausage for the weiner roll. A lot of ppl came in for loaves of bread rather than the items on display.

Best custard pie since Dee Lite Bakery. Chef used to work there, so very similar and only pie that brings me back to Dee Lite's. The top just isn't slightly glazed or burnt way I liked it at Dee Lite Bakery, but overall close enough. The prices are a bit stiff, but to have it once in awhile is worth it.

I go they are mainly for the French bread. But something has changed the last three times I’ve bought bread from there. The recipe is not the same. The taste is different and when you cut the bread inside of the bread even looks different. I would like a response from the owners to let us know why you may changes and if you’re gonna go back to the old recipe

I would rate it higher if I could. Everything we tried was fresh and excellent, and we tried a lot. The glazed donuts are the best donuts of any variety I’ve ever had, and the croissants have a perfect texture/flavor. Our kids are three pepperoni pizza breads and we tried different dessert pastries. Strongly recommend you try them!

Saw this cute bakery with the NOW OPEN sign and decided to give it a try. I bought a loaf of raisin bread and they offer to slice it to your desired thickness. It was so soft and yummy! The kids loved their chocolate chip muffin and ther cream (custard) pastry. I will have to come by for their raisin bread again and to try their sweet and savory bakery items!

Amazing bakery. Freshly baked sweet and savory pastries ranging from French (croissant, baguette, sourdough bread) to custard pies (like moon cakes) and sausage rolls.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dessert experience in Honolulu, look no further than Vavin Dessert Bar. This charming spot is a haven for pastry lovers and coffee aficionados alike. With its warm and welcoming atmosphere, you'll feel right at home as you indulge in their incredible offerings. The croissants are truly a highlight—especially the Hawaiian honey and sea salt variety, which has garnered rave reviews from visitors. For those who enjoy savory options, the ham and cheese croissant is equally impressive.
This was a great place for a quick breakfast pastry and coffee. They’re open from 7 until they sell out, so we went early to have the best selection. The crookie (cookie croissant) and chocolate croissant were both tasty, as was the berry iced tea. There are a few indoor tables and only three outdoor tables, so make sure you’re not sitting in front of the other restaurant mistakenly. Overall we really enjoyed stopping here!

May2025 Cafe and patisserie run by a local couple. Their creations are at par with French ones while the balance of sweetness and delectable flavors are well managed. The visual presentation is also much commendable making this a very noteworthy source of pastries 🍰 👏 for special events. Service is counter only The place is relatively small with very limited tables indoors and outside. They can get pretty full considering the popularity and the convenience of operating hours. Ideal for quick bites and takeaways. Truly a good find during our first visit to Honolulu. 🥰🥰🥰

This was our first place to visit for breakfast during our trip. I want to say that I quite enjoyed the matcha, as well as the delicious croissants. I think we’ll come back here again to try some other desserts or different kinds of croissants. There are comfortable outdoor seating options, and the service is pleasant. Basically, everything you need. I liked it, and I can definitely recommend this place. ✅

Absolutely love Vavin Dessert Bar Café! The cappuccino is consistently perfect – rich, smooth, and made with care. Their pastries are always fresh and delicious, the perfect complement to the coffee. A big shoutout to Jin the barista – super pleasant, attentive, and always goes above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of. Great service, cozy atmosphere, and quality treats. Highly recommend!

Hawaiian croissant is the best croissant we tried here. Mixed between salty and sweet. I recommend it. We also tried the papillon and the cinnamon pastry. Despite a good look, they were not particularly flavoury or special. Cappuccino was made with care

The best patisserie I have ever enjoyed. Hands down. The pastry was so beautiful it was hard to want to eat it. So artfully and meticulously crafted. To keep the pastry crunchy and fresh they add the filling to the pastry at order and you can watch! Then we dug in, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Baker was trained with top chefs in France. I have been to France and this was better than anything I ever had there. Significantly better than even the French patisserie in Pikes Place Market, Seattle. The ONLY downside was the pigeons on the patio are a menace. Maybe Honolulu should invest in some falconers…..

My boss’s friend recommended this place for quality pastries since I work as a pastry cook. Finally got the chance to check it out a couple weeks ago on a day trip over to Oahu. I got there a bit late; right after noon/lunch time and most of the pastries were sold out. I did manage to buy one the last raspberry eclairs and paired it with the verbena mint tea. Atmosphere and ambience were peaceful and I felt like I was tucked away from tue hustle and bustle of the Waikīkī strip. Staff was friendly and I felt a welcome vibe; like unspoken warmth. Definitely would go back to try more pastries (the eclair was delicious), but will have to try earlier in the day/morning before everything is sold out.

Pastry, coffee, and teas are exceptionally tasty and artfully presented. They run out of pastry, so snooze you lose. 😊 11/1/2025 - update - we had the chocolate croissant, sea salt croissant, and we took home the Double Pistachio Croissant and Croissant Toast. Take the time to relax and appreciate the subtle sweetness and flavors, and artistry of this husband and wife team. Bring a refined palette and you won't be disappointed. They close when they run out. Makes sense if you want fresh products.

Paris Baguette is a global bakery chain with thousands of outlets worldwide, and the first one in Hawaii is also its first franchise location owned by locals. Visitors have been impressed by the cozy ambiance and top-notch customer service. The Caramel Macchiato has been described as the best in recent memory, and the pastries are equally delightful. While some find the flavors too light, others highly recommend treats like the coffee croissant doughnut.
This is the place to be! The pastries are absolutely delicious, with rich, flavorful fillings. It’s a small spot with limited outdoor seating, so it’s ideal for takeout. I recommend going early, as it’s a popular place and the favorites tend to sell out quickly. The chocolate croissant is a must-try! We enjoyed some treats on the spot and took a few to go with our iced coffees. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the place has a neat, cozy vibe.

Hands down the best ham and cheese croissant in the town! We also like the mochi donut, and some fresh fruit pastries. Raisin snail is also decent. The biggest challenge is parking. Get a ride or find nearby parking and walk over!

One amazing coffee and bakery place. They bake fresh and keep restocking. Their Strawberry cream cake is a must try, it sells quickly in the morning. Croissants, Mochi donut, pastry with fruits, red bean bun, sweet potato bun, croissant with Nutella, coffee, Frappuccino, breads with sausage, salads, sandwiches are amazing. Try their egg salad sandwich and chicken with grain sandwich, amazing. Everytime I go there I keep trying new items on the menu. Very clean, people should wear gloves to their hands that they provide at the entrance of the restaurant to select our pastries and breads. Their quality of bread also is amazing. They have chairs outside to sit and eat. Clean place overall.

7/2025 I've tried it in Korea and still can't wait to visit their first location here in Hawaii - with more to come! Every time I'm in the area and pass by, I wish I could run in but they're always so busy and parking can take a minute. I was lucky enough to stumble onto them at a golf tournament and was happily reminded of how much I missed their pastries. I'm really not a pastry buff but I gladly admit, their stuff rocks! I especially like the pastry frank - my personal favorite and their best seller i think. They've got desserts 🥧, coffee ☕️, and a plethora of pastries. I hear that street parking is good and free on Sundays for a quick flyby to get your pastry fix on. They also do catering! Cool. Stop by soon. I'm certain you'll become a Yobo Pastry Nut! See the Nancy aka "Pho" and Mina aka "Kim Chee" owners and tell them I sent you! You might not get a free pastry but I promise you'll get a tasty pastry treat and maybe a wink and a smile. Onolicious! 😉🤙✌️🫰

The pastries were delicious, just like the ones at the Downtown store. But the staff has not been trained well yet. I pointed out a mistake on my receipt, but nobody knew how to fix or refund it. They said they would have a manager call me later, but I haven't received a call yet. Also, there were no trays and tongs when I arrived, and all the customers were confused.

Highly recommended!! Loved to see a Paris Baguette here after trying them in South Korea, their pastries are absolutely delicious and fresh! I went a little after 12pm, so the best stuff was already sold out, the staff mentioned to go first thing and try their most popular items. I will definitely come back!!

Pastries looked beautiful! They were quite large, though. (I’m so happy I had someone to split it with!) The fancy pastries are not one I would go back for (too sweet for me and I don’t think I could box them nicely to gift to anyone because so much frosting!) but the regular, individually wrapped goods were good! Coffee was good too!

Agnes' Portuguese Bake Shop may have closed its doors in January 2018, but the spirit of their beloved malassadas lives on through their food truck. Located in the parking lot of Manuhealii, this mobile eatery serves up freshly made malasadas that are crispy on the outside and delightfully chewy within. With three tempting flavors—regular, cinnamon, and li hing—each treat is priced at just $1.25 or you can snag a dozen for $14.40.
Delicious fluffy and very light malasadas. For me, this is better than Leonard’s. It is a food truck tucked behind an establishment, will be easier to get here by walking as I didnt see dedicated parking spot. The size is slightly smaller than Leonard’s. So you may want to order more than 1 😉

Had some amazing malasadas without driving around the island and it was located close to use. We had them fresh out of the box. The worker was amazing and super nice. He was very helpful and very happy to help. Next time we come we will try to hit this place up when we get here so we can get it a second time before we head home.

If you are in a rush, call in to order:) they are made to order, so be patient! A dozen on a busy morning took 10-15 min, BUT so worth the wait!!! Taste: 10/10 They come out warm and are a great dough to sugar ratio. We tried one of the red velvet, and LOVED it!!!!

The Best malasadas hands down! I frequented the bakery years ago when i lived on the island and was sad to hear it shut. But was overjoyed to see they had a food truck. Never been so happy on this visit. Made fresh to order. Can't leave the parking lot without eating one. Will return every trip. Love Agnes'

Agnes’ Portuguese Bake Shop has a lot of history and is well-known for its famous malasadas, but my experience was just okay. The malasadas were warm and fluffy, but I felt they lacked the light, airy texture I was expecting. They were good, but not the best I’ve had on the island. The shop itself has a cozy, old-school vibe, but it could use some updates to feel more inviting. Service was friendly but a bit slow, and the selection of baked goods was more limited than I anticipated. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by for a taste of their classic malasadas, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.

Agnes’ Portuguese Bake Shop is a hidden gem on Oʻahu! Their malasadas are absolutely incredible—pillowy soft, warm, and perfectly sweet. You can tell everything is made fresh with love. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this bake shop is a must-stop. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

Hawaiian Pie Company is a family-run bakery known for its wide variety of pies, including the famous cinnamon bread that has garnered its own loyal following. The business is run by three generations of the Hori family, who have perfected the art of baking buttery, cinnamon-infused bread from scratch. While Kalihi may not be renowned for upscale dining, this establishment stands out among the industrial buildings in the area.
Birthday apple pies are a must for me. New to Oahu so did my research, drove the 35 mins to their bakery. The service was great, she was really nice and even gave me a candle. I bought a regular size Caramel Apple pie and a small Pineapple Dream pie to try. They are both really good!!! So happy I found my new pie place. The drive is worth it. :)

Some of the best pies on island! My friend surprised me with an assortment of pies to try. Highly recommended the Hawaiian Passion Pear pie!
Rachel C — Google review
Our family visited and were thoroughly impressed. The staff is lovely and very helpful - Despite being close to closing, they took extra time to help us pick out a shirt size and color and a souvenir. The mini pies are wonderful, particularly the Pineapple Whip. 10/10 would recommend and have again. Definitely a go-to spot for any pie lover!
Ryan C — Google review
First of all, I will say that I'm a big fan of pie. I can never turn down a slice! I'd previously been given apple pie & coconut pie from Hawaiian Pie Company as gifts. My pals know what I like! So when I was asked what I wanted for my birthday dessert, I said pie and specifically, Hawaiian Pie Company pie. I ended up helping my husband order a Pineapple Whip pie and a Caramel Apple pie from their easy to use website. Just go on their website, pick a pie, pick a date & time to pick up, and then when we got there we called them and let them know that we were outside and they quickly brought it out to us! It really is as easy as pie! 😋 They both were delicious fillings with flaky crusts. The Pineapple Whip pie has a crunchy, sweet, addicting topping and the inside is pudding-like with small shreds of pineapple. So awesome! The apples in the Caramel Apple pie were the perfect texture, firm and not mushy and with a caramel taste throughout. Yum! We also ordered pies for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, we ordered too late to get pumpkin or pumpkin custard so instead we ordered a Pineapple Whip pie and a Banana Foster pie. Both were so mouthwatering, as usual. You can't get a bad pie here! The Pineapple Whip is our favorite pie for now. What impressed me with pickup on Thanksgiving Day was how organized the staff at Hawaiian Pie Company were. We had a 12 pickup time. There was a small jam because lots of cars were waiting to turn into the lot. When we finally turned into the parking lot, there were cars being directed on where to park by what looked like a valet company. My hubby parked, I jumped out with the email confirmation on my phone, waited in a quickly moving line, told the lady manning the booth my name and showed her my confirmation number. Another smiling worker brought out my pies. Easy cheesy, less than 5 minutes in line, and hopped back in the car with my treasures in hand! Hawaiian Pie Company has an easy to use website, email confirmation so you know you'll get your pies, friendly, smiling workers, and delicious pies. At Thanksgiving dinner, people commented on how pricey the pies were but you get what you pay for and this is a high quality dessert and experience! Keep up the amazing work, Hawaiian Pie Company!

Wonderful Unique Pies! So many flavors to choose from! Caramel Apple, Blueberry Pineapple, POG, Strawberry Cheesecake, Peach Pear, Banana Caramel, Passion Pear! Free samples to help with your decision. They sell small pies at $6 each, great for taste testing or a whole pie for around $24 depending upon the flavor. Ample free parking and very friendly staff. Dinged one star because of the cost.

Delicious! Order online the day before and set your pickup time to have a hassle-free experience. We got the strawberry guava pie which people couldnt stop eating despite being full from our meal. Stayed delicious cold from the fridge the next day. The dough is buttery and delicious and was as good as the filling which was bright and sweet with enough sour to keep it from being too much. Will definitely be back to try their other pies.
Gene — Google review
This pie place is literally everything you'd want it to be. The pies are delicious and they give you samples to try, so you can make the right decision! There is a parking lot outside and parking wasn't an issue when I went there. They even host an event on national pie day! They have a rewards program so when you collect 50 stars you get a free full sized pie. Great service, great tasting pies, I'd definitely recommend and I'll be coming back.

JJ Bistro & French Pastry is a casual European bakery and bistro that offers a mix of classic and innovative main courses as well as indulgent desserts. It's a beloved spot for families, with consistent quality food and delectable desserts. The Fisherman's pot pie is a standout entree, while the pizzas make for great appetizers despite their smaller size.
My family and I love JJ's and have been coming here for years. The last time we came here in January 2018, they were just about to move to a different location, and they weren't sure where at the time. The food is consistently good, and the desserts are so delicious. I usually get the 4-course meal so a dessert is included. My favorite entree is the Fisherman's pot pie. The pizzas are on the smaller side, but are good as appetizers. I would recommend trying ALL of the desserts to find the one you like the best!

This restaurant was amazing - and I'm married to a professional chef so I don't say that lightly. Visiting HI for 9 days and this was the best meal we've had by a wide margin. Exceptional skill and precision executing every dish and the quality and flavor were superb. Wonderful staff, awesome desserts, and believe it or not a very reasonable price. I can't say enough good things about JJ's. If you appreciate truly good food you should give it a try.

PRO: Although the food was more than regular it was in fact very good. Unusual menu. Great desserts. CON: The appetizers and meals were WAY TOO SMALL portions and it doesn't match the expensive prices. We are local and this was our first experience. We go out twice a week with our local friends experiencing different restaurants or tried-and-true. Although it was a good experience, less the small portions, I must admit we'll probably not come back because of small portions, expensive prices.

If you're ever in Kaimuki on the weekend, this spot is a must-visit. I make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in the area--and I highly recommend going right when they open, as their most popular items tend to sell out quickly. This charming butchery not only offers high-quality meats but also serves up some of the most delicious pastries and breakfast sandwiches around. The breakfast sandwich menu changes frequently, depending on the meats available, which keeps things exciting and seasonal. My absolute favorite item? The Housemade Char Siu Pickled Mustard Green Danish. It's a perfect balance of savory and sweet, with crispy, flaky layers filled generously with flavorful char siu and topped with a rich Peking duck sauce. It's unlike anything else you'll find in Honolulu. Other standout items include: Lilikoi Orange Guava Mochi Danish - tropical, chewy, and bright Chocolate Chip Cookie - classic, gooey, and satisfying Quiche - rich, buttery, and perfectly baked The service is consistently excellent--everyone is friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The energy here feels local and warm, like a neighborhood spot that truly cares about its craft and community. If you're looking to grab a quick bite, this place delivers every time. Don't miss it!

Truly a hidden gem. Ice cream cupcakes?!! Hibiki ice cream?!!Custom two layered ice cream cakes?!I am shocked that this place isn't popping off ...yet. I had their skittles cupcake and hibiki ice cream the first time. For take out, I got my wife the smores and ube cupcakes to go. I couldn't stop craving it so I was back the next week. I also bought a custom skittles cake for a friend's birthday and everyone was blown away by it. I requested a rainbow skittles cake and the meringue was just awesome. Delicious treats and magical vibes! This cute shop offers ice cream pies (both dairy and non-dairy), ice cream cakes, cookies, and even fancy shave ice. I've loved ice cream pies and cakes since I was a kid—they were always my birthday request 😋. The day we visited, it was a bit rainy, and we even saw a double rainbow 🌈—truly magical. After coming down the hill, we grabbed a few ice cream pie slices to share: Snuggy Bear, Matcha Cookies & Cream, and Caramel Banana Butterfinger. We devoured them right away—they were sooo good! There are parking spots right in front, which makes visiting super convenient. We also got to meet the incredibly talented and hardworking chefs/owners and their adorable dachshund 🥰. I was excited to try this place. The man at the counter was friendly and helpful. I'd give him 5 stars, but the woman at the counter was extremely rude. She had an attitude when I asked to sample one flavor of ice cream and even made a comment about it. Don't work if you're mad about doing your job. She walked over with the sample and gave it to me, still with an attitude and even after I thanked her, she said "you're welcome" with attitude and a mean look on her face. Worst customer experience I've had on-island. Will not be back. There was no one in the shop except me and my friend, so they were not busy either. We paid and sat down to eat. Then the couple that needed help came in a while later.

Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake is a global phenomenon with over 80 stores worldwide, offering light, airy, and not overly sweet cheesecakes made with natural ingredients. Unlike traditional American cheesecakes, these are fluffy and guilt-free. The lemonade served complements the cakes perfectly. Additionally, the food court location also serves cookies and teas. Customers can also enjoy delicious mochi donuts at this spot.
This is not your typical American cheesecake. Instead of being dense and cheesy, these cheesecakes are light and fluffy. They are even fluffier than angel cake but not as dry. After eating these cakes it almost leaves you guilt free because of how light and not sweet it is. However, what the cheesecake lacks in sweetness, the lemonade makes up for it. It is freshly made by hand so they can get a little carried away with the sugar. As soon as you take a drink, the sweetness slaps your face and let's you know it's in charge, but in a good way. Together they pair well and make a delicious combination snack. Definitely a must try and the price can be under $10 if you don't splurge too much.

The Japanese cheesecake was heavenly. Light, fluffy, airy with the perfect flavor to go with its texture (I had the original). The melon flavor was delicious as well. I truly loved it.

I was eager to try out the famous “jiggly soft and bouncy” Japanese cheesecake. It was ok. We tried some samples but didn’t go for it. They had other cute desserts that look too good to consume. We did not try them as it was close to dinner time.

Located on the second level food court. Ordered the mochi donuts, delicious and chewy! The cheesecake was the same fluffy goodness however it costs $4 more on the island than mainland. Definitely try the donuts!

This place has the most unique tasting cheesecakes that melt in your mouth. This isn’t your standard American cheese cake, this is different. Japanese cheesecake has different texture and taste that’s worth a try.
Alexander K — Google review
We enjoyed the cheesecake (original and coffee flavor). Nice and moist. This is the first time we tried japanese style cheesecake. It wasn't bad. The original had a nice flavor to it but we enjoyed the coffee flavor the most. It had a hint of coffee to it with a nice amount of fluffiness. Would go back again if in the area.

2016: The best mango smoothies are here! We had them several times on our trip. Update 2019: Still the best smoothies!
Katie J — Google review
These cheesecakes are lighter and fluffier than a traditional New York cheesecake - I like both versions but gravitate toward these more often. They also have mini cheesecake tarts in three flavors: original, matcha and pumpkin (not sure if that’s just a seasonal flavor) - perfect for a small afternoon treat! I also had the raspberry lemonade which I found a little too sweet.

If you find yourself in Honolulu, make sure to swing by Bake n Break, a delightful bakery nestled on the third floor of the McCully Shopping Center. This charming spot is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth with an array of delectable desserts. The friendly staff, including owner Bronson, are dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming experience. Whether you're picking up last-minute cupcakes or indulging in their signature Ube Cheesecake Souffle—light and decadent—you won't be disappointed.
I’ve had my eye on this matcha cheesecake for months and I’m so glad I finally tried it. It’s thick and fluffy at the same time. I kept coming on a Sunday (they’re closed Sunday & Monday) but I eventually figured out they’re open Tuesday-Saturday 12pm-4pm & 6pm-10pm. The fresh baked bagels here are also top notch.

The most amazing, light, and decadent Ube Cheesecake Soufflé- yes. You read that right. UBE. We also tried the cookies and cream cupcake with the most decadent, airy, frosting. I generally don’t like cupcakes due to overly heavy frosting, but Bake n Breaks recipe was absolutely amazing. My husband and I enjoyed every single bite of these two exquisite treats. A solid must try.

SUCH a great experience getting a couple cupcakes for my boyfriends birthday (last minute) here! I stopped here, because I was hoping that they would have some unique pre-made cupcakes I could pick up (and not have to place an order for). When I got there, the worker behind the counter was EXTREMELY friendly, sincere, and helpful from the start! I noticed some cupcakes in a fridge and chose the two I was interested in buying, figuring he would just put them in a container for me. However, he made two right there fresh in front me! In an extremely timely manner, as well. It was very cool to see the process in action. The service was even better- worker was SO funny and kind. I got the Cookies and Cream Cupcake and the Pumpkin Carrot Cupcake. Both were absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I were both very impressed. The icing was DELICIOUS! Very grateful to have discovered such a wonderful little bakery so close to my home. WILL be returning!

Hats off to Bronson who is the owner of this establishment!!! If you have not tried his goodies, please take some time to do so and support local businesses! Bake N Break is in the McCully Shopping Center on the 3rd floor located on the Ewa end in the Test Kitchen with other nice eating places as well. Mon. & Tues. he is closed but the other days hours are: 12pm-4pm, 6pm-10pm. After your lunch or dinner, save room for dessert with Bronsons yummies! Photo is just 3 of his cupcakes, Fruity pebbles, shorty crunch and lemoney crunch!

Ran in right before close and the owner was so kind and bright! He gave great recommendations and baked the BEST strawberry cupcake I’ve ever had. It was the perfect amount of sweet and tart with a fluffy lightly sweet whipped cream. Definitely recommend stopping by here!

Hidden gem at the Aloha Test Kitchen. Everything is made in house and fresh! Best pastries on the island. They have Eclairs, Cream puffs, Cupcakes, Japanese almond brioche, Japanese souffle cheese cake and Browny (owner) make custom cakes and cupcakes. You'll have to go in person to see what flavors 😉

I honestly don't like cupcakes all that much, but this place is legit. The lemon cupcake had a delicious filling that was a surprise, the red velvet was amazing. Having travelled France and other parts of the world, I'm pretty picky with baked goods, but this is up to par with any most good bakeries, and I'll definitely be back.

Mad respect for this place. Stopped in as a random drive by since we are staying in Waikiki for the week. Great local place with wonderful Asian and French flavors. Introduced to the Ube Cheesecake and my wife and I devoured it even though we were already very full from a huge lunch and light dinner. Fluffy, decadent and not overly sweet. Wonderful balance. Excellent local bakery, will try to stop by for the puffs or cupcakes next before we leave.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dessert experience, look no further than CeCe’s Patisserie! This charming family-owned bakery in Aiea, Hawaii, is a treasure trove of sweet treats that will enchant both kids and adults alike. From their moist and beautifully decorated cupcakes to the incredibly soft snickerdoodle cookies that stay fresh for days, every bite is a celebration of flavor. The variety at CeCe's is impressive; you'll find local favorites alongside nostalgic childhood treats.
Absolutely love CeCe’s Patisserie! This family-run bakery is an experience your and your kids would love. I had their cupcakes, cake cups, snickerdoodle cookies, and a pie — every single item was amazing. The cupcakes were moist and beautifully decorated, but the real showstopper for me was the snickerdoodle cookies: they were unbelievably soft and fresh, and they stayed that way for days. Even after two days, I was still enjoying them as they were soft to the bite! Beyond the incredible treats, you can really feel the heart and soul of a family-run business here. The owner and staff are so warm and welcoming, and they even do great work with kids and kūpuna. That just shows how much they care about the community. They also have a food truck that brings their goodies on the road, so don’t hesitate to call and order your favorites if you can’t stop by in person. It’s so important to support local small businesses like this one, and CeCe’s Patisserie truly deserves the spotlight. If I could give more than five stars, I would! I can’t recommend them enough, and I’m already looking forward to my next sweet visit!

If you like sweets, this is the place to go. Auntie has so many choices of goods to choose from and a good majority of them are local favorites as well. I also spotted a few childhood favorites as well. But not only that, but if you're eating in store, Auntie will ask if you would like your treat heated up depending on which one you choose or even make suggestions on what Is her preference if you're curious of what's good. Not only is it a cute spot for treats, but they also have treats for your teets. So if you prego (pregnant) auntie makes lactation cookies that everyone loves, they're safe. They're natural. And it's okay if the kids get into them.

"The Girls Who Bake Next Door" is a charming bakery located at the corner of Lusitania and Iolani Street. Their red velvet, peanut butter & chocolate, and cookies & cream cupcakes are highly recommended for their delicious flavors that are present in both the cake and frosting. Priced at just $2.00 each, they are definitely worth trying. It's advisable to check their operating hours as they are only open on select days.

This is my first ever review not because I haven't enjoyed good service but, Girls Who Bake... well they went above and beyond anyone's possible standard of amazing service. My sister who lives in Honolulu was celebrating her birthday, and I live in Canada. I ordered flowers that were supposed to be sent to her, only to find out that the flower shop didn't deliver on Sunday's. Sooooo... scramble I did and found Nina at this bakery, and she not only made a short notice order of 3 dozen cookies, but she also personally delivered them on her way home. My sisters review of the cookies were "OUTSTANDING" Thank you so very much Girls who bake... you're simply amazing!!!!

The cutest and tastiest cupcakes I’ve ever had! Strawberries and cream is my fav but my office loves cookies and cream. I usually hate frosting but their frosting is SO GOOD. They also deliver which makes planning birthdays in my office so easy and I really appreciate them for that!

Amazing Amazing Amazing! I used them for my wedding and they were very great, everyone was asking me about the cupcakes and where they were from. We got banana poi, pineapple upside down, and chocolate. Prices were very reasonable as well as the delivery fee. They were always responsive and very easy to work with! I will 100% use them for any upcoming events and will continue to recommend them to everyone!!!

The girls who bake next door, made my wedding cake. Me and my husband decided to have a destination wedding in Oahu, and we had never been to this bakery before. So i relied on the good reviews to decide, and they did not disappoint at all! They did an excellent job executing my vision for the design of my cake and procured the fresh purple orchids for the topper for a reasonable price. The cake was moist and the passionfruit cream filling was excellent. Very light and not overpowering. The buttercream frosting was also excellent, and everyone raved about the cake. They were very reasonable and did not overcharge me for delivering to the reception restaurant. I would not hesitate to recommend this bakery. They were a pleasure to work with. ‐Kayla

Did an absolute stupendous job. Wasn't sure at 1st how it would come out. But at the final process my cake looked like the actual item I sent a picture of. Nestled in a charming strip mall on South Street, Flour + Butter Bakery is a delightful gem in downtown Honolulu that’s perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth. Open since the fall of 2016 and run by two lovely millennial sisters, this bakery specializes in small batches of freshly made cupcakes, muffins, cakes, and French macarons.
Such a cute shop for the most decadent cupcakes!!! Customer Service is top notch! My son takes a Japanese class nearby at Little Ambassadors and without hesitation after class, he asks for a cupcake. They do cupcakes for every holiday and they are the cutest cupcakes! They even have specials occasionally where you buy 6 and get 1 free.

Tried many other places well known for their cupcakes but this is the best I've ever have. Love the little surprise you get in every bite. Every cupcake is perfectly decorated. The people there are awesome too!

I went into the bakery to order a baby's 100 Days Birthday cake for 20ppl and needed the cake that weekend! Most bakeries won't take that last min order without charging you an arm and a leg! Sharon helped me over the phone and told me it was possible, so I came into the bakery and spoke with Kat about my vision for the cake. She was very patient and helpful with my order and was able to pull off my Hawaiian themed cake with hula girl and canoe paddle on beach!! It was beautiful! Everyone loved the cake and it was ono! I want to thank the F+B team for making our celebration a special and delicious one! Also, I tried the mango cream, haupia, red velvet and vanilla cupcakes and they were moist, spongy and super tasty! Would definitely recommend and use for my next special day!

The owner was very nice. The place is adorable and very clean. They offer a good variety of treats without it being overwhelming. The cupcakes weren't my personal favorite, but they were good. Best of luck to the sisters!

Went to our normal cupcake place in downtown Honolulu but they were already closed. So we immediately looked for other places nearby and Flour + Butter Bakery came up. It's a cute place on South St. in a stripmall type building. Since they were closing they only had some flavors left so we tried 4 of their most favorite ones: Chocoholic, Hawaiian Salty Caramel Chocolate, Vanilla Bean and Macchiato. Both chocolate cupcakes were great. The chocoholic was rich in chocolate flavor as expected. The cake was moist and the buttercream average. The macchiato was also a nice flavor but I thought it couldve used a bit more flavor burst? The vanilla was a little dry but the buttercream was superb and made up for its bottom parts flaws. The salty caramel chocolate was the best out of the four. The caramel was perfectly piped in and did not overwhelm. The salty buttercream was luscious and deeply complimented the cake. I would buy this one again. Great place. Decor very pottery barn-ish, which I found pleasant. No fluff, no fuss, great vibes and best of all, locally-owned. Will visit again. 😊

UPDATE: Returned and quality is even better. Full five stars. Highly recommend. --------------- Open since fall 2016, the shop is run by two very sweet, millennial sisters. One of the sisters is an artisan Baker, the other runs the front. Small batches of cupcakes, muffins, cakes, French macarons, and other goodies made fresh daily. Check the macarons for variety of flavors. The pistachio is smooth and lovely, and the lilikoi is very flavorful. Using a mix of ganache-based and buttercream-based fillings to get the most punch out of each combination, this shop really will fill custom orders. The cases are beautiful, very Instagram worthy. The flavors are good. And, most vital, the shop is super clean. Presentation is adorable, using a simple cardboard box and pastry box string. Perfect for gift-giving. There is a small, maybe 3-stool eat-in counter, with cute sayings on the wall. Sit, people-watch or watch the traffic go by, and sample a bunch of different things with someone you love, or even just like. There is also ample outdoor seating shared with a bunch of other shops in this complex, preferable if you have small kids or strollers. The shop is very small. But, you can really tell that this shop has a lot of love put into it. Free 2-hour validated parking in the structure. Or for a quick stop and run, there is metered parking right outside. But you want to stay. You do. Good for a lunch/getting to know you date, along with the larger, full-menu Café Grace down the block. Prices are what you would expect for a shop like this, about $2.25 per macaron, a little more per cupcake. You're paying for quality-- this is not your big box, made two-days-ago-and-sitting-in-cellophane-all-this-time kind of joint. These are beautiful, boutique, carefully curated flavors, made as fresh as you can get without living with these ladies. Giftable and special. Four stars for what they have to offer currently, will upgrade if consistency proves to be there. Accepts credit cards. Uses the 5Star app. Bathroom available on request, through the complex. Recommend.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful treat in Hawaii, look no further than Lanikai Mochi, which opened its doors in 2019. This charming spot specializes in butter mochi, offering an array of enticing flavors such as Mac Nut, Lilikoi, Kona Coffee, Banana Nut, and Peanut Butter. They also feature seasonal varieties that keep things exciting! You can find their delicious creations at various farmers markets like Kakaako and KCC.
Stopped by on a whim Friday morning and met the nice owner who had a handful of options out while waiting for a fresh batch to finish in ~20 minutes. I didn’t have much time so grabbed sesame coconut (I think), matcha, and lilikoi. Wow they were so delicious! The outside had a light crisp and the inside was perfectly chewy. Amazing options for the gluten free crowd. I have an allergy, and had no issues whatsoever. The owner said she opened her business around the start of the pandemic and that this location was only 3 months old. Definitely stop by this hidden gem! Wish we were staying long enough to come back, but will definitely return on a future trip.

Mochi is so good and the people that work there are really kind. The ingredients inside the different options are so real/fresh and she doesn't seem to use artificial flavors. Makes me sad that they don’t have more reviews! This place is so cute and has cute outdoor seating! My husband and I went in yesterday and bought 6 of there specialty cupcakes ( all which were AMAZING!! Especially the pineapple whip one) we bought 2 loaves of banana bread which were sooooo good!! And we bought a frozen loaf of sourdough which let me tell you. For being frozen it was SUPER yummy on Saturday and Sunday they have fresh baked loaves for sale which my husband and I plan on getting a fresh loaf today. It was some of the best sourdough bread I’ve had we planned on saving some but it was gone within 30 minutes we all loved it so much! The owner and her husband were so kind and sweet that was worth the experience alone definitely plan on coming back to buy more sourdough because it was just that good!

First off, Akiko and her husband are extremely kind individuals. Their personalities alone would have been worth the visit. Now, lets talk about the BREAD. I was fortunate enough to purchase a fresh sourdough baguette today and as a Euro, let me tell you that it satisfied most if not all iv been missing from home. Im not kidding, I ate the whole thing within an hour of purchase. Seriously. Plain, no butter no nothing. It was that good. The outside was fresh and crunchy, while the inside was still warm and soft. Finally! Fresh crispy bread...and not that soft, preservative filled store bought "bread". Thank you again Akiko for providing the island with a true rustic baguette. I will be back next week! A bientôt, Victor

The Cheesecake Factory is a popular American chain restaurant known for its extensive menu and generous portions. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes, but the highlight is their signature cheesecakes, with flavors like Caramel Turtle standing out. The restaurant's popularity extends beyond the United States, with Australians being particularly drawn to it due to its mention in popular culture. While not considered expensive, it's important to budget for additional costs such as tax and tips.
The service and atmosphere are top notch! The food was delicious, especially the cheesecakes. Appetisers and mains aren’t the most nicely presented but are very tasty. Strongly recommend making a reservation prior, we tried to do a walk-in first but the wait time was an hour and a half so we made a reservation for the following evening.

Great spot for people watching if you sit out on the patio! Got here at 4:30p on a Sunday and got seated right away. Caramel macchiato was delicious. That and the bread were the best part of the meal. Pasta carbonara with chicken was dry as a bone. We asked for more sauce, and they brought just the smallest amount. Not at all enough for the massive pile of pasta. Crusted Chicken Romano had a very bland sauce. I added salt, but it still didn’t taste good. We ordered lunch portions a little before 5 and had plenty to eat. Since the pasta came dry, our server made up for it by giving us a sundae on the house. He was full of energy and very friendly.

This was my very first visit to The Cheesecake Factory, and it couldn’t have been more memorable — all thanks to our incredible server, JJ. From the moment we were seated, JJ made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued. Even though we could see she was managing several tables, she never once made us feel rushed or overlooked. Her ability to connect with her guests and provide attentive, personalized service is truly exceptional. JJ went above and beyond to ensure our experience was special. She took the time to chat with us, made thoughtful recommendations, and somehow made us feel like we were her only table. I did order the meal she recommended, and she was spot on. Such quality food here The highlight of the night was when she surprised us with a complimentary dessert after learning we were celebrating our honeymoon — such a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture that made our evening unforgettable. JJ exemplifies what outstanding customer service looks like. Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine care turned a simple dinner into a beautiful memory. She seemed like such a down to earth girl. Because of her, The Waikiki Cheesecake Factory has gained some lifelong fans!! Thank you, JJ, for making our special night even more meaningful! Also S/O to the host stand. That line was wrapped around the building with impatient people waiting to get in. It honestly looked like straight chaos but the host stand just cranked em in and out like a well oiled machine. Good job!! Only waited like 15 minutes before being sat. :) great place

What an outstanding server Iverson is! He was polite, offer suggestions on food and dessert, he arrived quickly with our drinks and bread. My husband and I also observed his amazing hospitality with the table next to us. He engaged with the young children at their eye level as the children told them what they would like to drink. Awesome job, Iverson! Meanwhile, our food was amazing and the presentation was outstanding. Iverson suggested my husband’s meal after realizing the original meal that was chosen was no longer available. And oh boy, it was so good!

If you've eaten at Cheesecake Factory then you know what to expect. Food and service were both good. Our server, Ariceli was great! Was disappointed to learn that they did away with the combination plates since our last visit. I recommend making a reservation as its almost always busy here and let's you bypass the long line to get on the wait list.

Lappert's Hawaii is a local chain known for its coffee, homemade ice cream, and baked goods featuring macadamia nuts. Founded by Walter Lappert in 1983, the brand has become famous for its rich and creamy ice cream with tropical flavors like Kauai Pie and Big Island Inspiration.
Coffee is so good here! Mocha chillers and vanilla ice latte. We also tried their ice cream as well. Waffle cones were fresh. Customer service was amazing.
Fatima F — Google review
Was going to get a coffee, but got an ice cream instead. They're very generous with customers in ice cream samples. I tried their popular kaua'i pie ice cream. She purposely scooped a lot of macadamia nuts for me to try. Unfortunately it was really sweet, so it wasn't for me. I tried the Kona Coffee and Kona Java Lava ice creams. The both had strong coffee flavours, but the Kona Java Lava one had chocolate sorbet laced in the ice cream and the flavours were so good. Waffle cones are pre-made, so it kind of crumbled as my ice cream melted, but the taste of the cone was good. Lots of people came for coffee, so maybe I'll come back for coffee another time.

The ice cream flavors were spectacular so I went back for a muffin in the morning. The coconut pineapple muffin was sooo good. A great stop if your in the area & staff was friendly on both visits!

Lappert's Hawaii at Hilton village. You'll get treated like a tourist, a little over pleasant sweetness. It's nice but it comes acyas fake, because it is. They get paid to treat you overly nice. Personally I'd prefer a resp human interaction over one that's paid for. The baked goods are good. No complaints and no OMG moments. The coffee was good but it's really hard to mess up coffee. The ice cream is just the same as any medium quality ice cream. If you're around Hilton village get some baked goods. Leave the rest. If you want coffee get it some place else.

Sweet and quick staff, the store is well kept. They offer a variety of ice cream and sorbet flavors ( they took my fav away, a coconut passion fruit blend 😢). So I ordered a Macadamia Cinnamon sticky bun, it was soft and fluffy but lacked the sticky so overall 3/5 for the bun, I think it would’ve been better if it was slightly warmed up.

Very cute café and it was already decorated for FALL season 😍🫠 Their smoothies and MANGO cake were SO GOOD ... they are our to go DEFINITELY

Decent ice cream and coffee. We went on July 20 which is national ice cream and hence it seems they had limited options of ice cream. It was extremely busy and it was very hard to find the flavors when you're under pressure, as we had to look through the glass freezer to quickly decide, not fun obviously. The staff was friendly and the waffle cone was really tasty. I think I got a basic chocolate and black coffee.

Nice ice cream place originating from the island of Kauai - it has its unique flavors that can only be found here! Macadamia Nut flavor with waffle cone went amazingly well together. They also had numerous local flavors which sounded great.

Liliha Bakery Nimitz has been a beloved staple in Hawaii since 1950, offering a delightful blend of breakfast favorites and comfort food that keeps locals and visitors coming back for more. With five locations across Oahu, including spots at the International Market Place and Ala Moana Center, this charming diner captures the essence of nostalgia with its classic counter seating and retro vibe.
This restaurant is pretty awesome. It's the best kind of diner that you wished was in your neighborhood. The menu was huge and had lots of delicious options. We ordered the prime rib, oxtail soup, and the fried chicken. They started the meal off with hot buttered sweet rolls. All the meals came with rice which was great. The Mac & potato salad was very good. The prime rib I ordered was cooked very well and had a nice beef flavor. The fried chicken was nice and juicy. The oxtail soup had a pho-like flavor but was very comforting. The service was quick and friendly. You can also order dessert from the bakery to-go. I wished that I had this restaurant where I lived. It's somewhere you can go almost everyday.

Excellent food and service. The “coffee shop” area is actually big and can handle large groups. We have come here many times for meals and enjoyed every one of them. Most recently a group of 12 of us came here. We had the chicken with mushroom gravy, grilled garlic shrimp, cheeseburger with potato discs?, club sandwich, saimin, chicken salad, meatloaf plate, etc. All good home cooked foods that tasted great! Their butter biscuits are also delicious! Only problem is we didn’t leave room for dessert- their bakery is fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area, it’s so good.

Pricey for breakfast but worth it. Love this place. Eggs Florentine was perfectly cooked. Did not like the garlic fried rice, it would’ve tasted better with toasted garlic pieces. All the showcased baked goods looked so scrumptious I wanted to try them all. The grilled butter rolls with jelly were freshly baked and so airy & fluffy. Restaurant was packed on a Sunday morning. The tables are too small and too close together. Parking lot was full. Conveniently located near the airport making it a good place to grab something to eat before your flight.

This is 1 of the bakeries. Crowded at breakfast time, but, place is large enough that can accommodate swiftly. I didnt wait 2 minutes. I sat at counter that faces kitchen/bakery. Interesting/fun to watch them create the dishes/pastries they are known for. Staff is very friendly & attentive. I ordered house specialty, Mac & nut waffle w/ chicken Karaoke. Awesome suggestion/choice! After stuffing my face, I continued my calorie climax, by visiting the bakery counter. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️ OMG!! The choices were unbelievable. "Ummm, 1 of those. 2 of that. 1 more of those, please" 😆 🤣 😂 A must stop on the island

This a very nice restaurant with a lot space. I had the best Loco Moco I've ever had. The beef patty was char broiled with gravy and eggs over rice. 5/5. The ox tail stew was excellent as well. There was also a bakery inside with all the delicious goods. Must try if you are in the area.

We recently had lunch at your restaurant and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience regarding the kamaʻāina discount. When we politely asked if it could be applied to our bill (as clearly stated on Google and from past experience), the server, R*g**e, immediately became argumentative. She said, “We don’t give discounts. We never give discounts. Who told you that? Do you have an employee ID?” — and even gave a sarcastic smile as if to mock the request. I explained that I previously worked for the company and knew that kamaʻāina discounts have always been offered to customers with a valid Hawai‘i State ID or driver’s license. R*g**e called over a manager, who seemed unsure of the policy herself and did not clarify or resolve the issue confidently. The manager just left. As regular customers who dine here with family and friends, this kind of treatment was very disappointing. If the kamaʻāina discount is no longer being honored, the restaurant should update this information on Google, social media, and in-store signage so customers are properly informed before dining. More importantly, staff should be reminded to treat all customers with respect — regardless of the situation. We hope Liliha Bakery management will take this seriously and ensure the team is better informed and trained to handle these situations professionally and courteously in the future. I thought this location would be my go to place for brunch and special occasion, it used to be our fave place BUT now….

You had the perfect fried chicken recipe. Why would you change it? It brings a tear to my eye. I’ve eaten fried chicken throughout the world so many locations and today. It’s just disappointing to have lost the best.

I couldn't help but notice that orange juice and iced teas are priced similarly, yet the portion sizes vary significantly. There's no consistency across different chains or beverages. Some might argue that you're paying for the ambiance and overall experience, and I can see that point. However, there should still be a baseline expectation. For instance, if I see $6 for just 8 oz., I would definitely think twice about ordering it.

I love this cafe! I visited here two times during my stay. Charming cafe, and friendly baristas. Very relaxing vibes. I ordered simply latte and flat white. Both drinks were delicious. I didn’t try any pastries though. Hopefully I have a chance next time!
Yun — Google review
We arrived shortly after opening and there was already a line out the door. This is typically a good sign for most any restaurant. After ordering we were able to sit at a small table and enjoy the morning rain. The service was efficient so our food arrived fairly quick for such a busy spot. I ordered a hot London fog with Mac nut milk. It was perfect. As I sipped it it reminded me of fruity pebbles. (5 stars) The London fog paired perfectly with the fig honey glazed scone we ordered. The scone was moist but had a great crumble to it. There were thick chunks of fig throughout the entire pastry and the honey glaze on top made the perfect balance of sweetness. (5 stars) Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich: When it arrived the house-made buttermilk biscuit looked almost as of it had been fried and had difficulty looking appealing. After the first bite things started to improve. The egg was scrambled and well cooked while the red onions and spicy mayo added just enough extra flavor to keep it interesting. The cheddar fully covered everything and was melted so nicely. It was tasty but it was also the kind of sandwich to leave you feeling heavy. (3.5 stars) Breakfast burrito: The burrito started off strong. The first bites were savory, cheesy and a little spicy. The dipping sauce that came with the burrito complemented all the flavors well. As the burrito progressed it became slightly overwhelming due to the excess of cheese and meat. Next time I'd skip adding the extra bacon to it. (4 stars) Lastly the Mac and Cheese pancakes: if you like feeling as though you could pass a way from a heart attack at any moment this option could be for you. The pancakes are fully coated in fried cheese and stuffed with macaroni. After my first bite I began to feel ill. I tried several bites just in case it could get better but it didn't. These were the most overwhelming pancakes I'd ever eaten. We initially ordered them because it sounded fun and exciting. We were not prepared by any means for this. (2 stars) Overall Morning Glass was a great experience and we'd love to go back to try more pastries and other items on their menu. We felt as though this place has a lot of great potential and maybe we just ordered the wrong things for us.

Delicious coffee and pastries. The syrup was a bit sweet for me (I like it a lot less sweet than most people). The carrot cake was THE BEST I've ever had! Highly recommend budgeting lots of time for dine in or ordering ahead online because the line can get pretty long on weekends (~45min). Great spot!
Lazare H — Google review
Morning Glass should be labeled as a morning or brunch restaurant and not really a coffee shop or cafe. There’s always a line but never feels busy & I was served quite quickly after ordering. Most tables have food orders and while they serve delicious coffee and espresso drinks (and even have an express counter for such online orders) you’re not invited to occupy the space with work or leisure time outside of your dining experience. I wish they would expand and include a relaxing coffee shop vibe as they have improved the decor a bit, though watch for rain clouds & use provided umbrellas. My cortado and blueberry crumble cake were delicious. 🤙🏼

My wife is the coffee drinker and she is really picky about her coffee, she doesn't even like Kona Coffee. With out a doubt, Morning Glass Coffee is her favorite coffee on Oahu. I love their breakfast sandwiches so we both give this place 5 stars
Favorite T — Google review
The place has a nice chill vibe. We went around 10 am on a Wednesday, and there was little to no wait. We got the blueberry scone which was delicious, cold brew which had a good strong taste but still refreshing, the sweet tea was amazing with a hint of mint, definitely try the strata...I don't know how to explain it but it was delicious and savory. The real star was the macaroni pancakes. They were savory but sweet and deliciously cheesy. It blew our mind. It's a big portion, so I only ate about 1/4 of mine and saved the rest for later. They have dedicated parking but it is small.

My Uber driver suggested we try Zippys since we were not happy with another restaurant. My wife had the spaghetti with Chile and absolutely loved it. I had the chicken plate and thought it was good. The chicken was crispy but not greasey, and the potato salad was nice and creamy. The chicken was nice and moist but could have used a little more flavor in the coating for my taste.
Arose58 — Google review
Breakfast at Zippy was ok, not crazy about the food and cashier wasn't cheerful and willing to answer rather than "no". Even it was Saturday morning but not busy at all (maybe delivery I don't know) big pick-up order ahead of us and that it. I like to try local food but sometime if it is not delicious it is not. We had breakfast and eggs set and Korean fried chicken. None of them worth the price I pay. The potion is big, but the test is bland.

Zippy’s – 2 stars I’ll admit—I was being generous with this rating because I knew going in that my palate might not be quite ready for some of Hawaii’s local staples. Spam just isn’t something I’ve had much of or really craved! Walking in, the vibe felt nostalgic—like a classic neighborhood dine-in spot. I ended up chatting with a fellow visitor from the mainland, and he swore by the spaghetti (which almost tempted me!). But I stuck with the TikTok favorite: the Zip Pac. It’s a loaded combo of Hawaiian staples—fried Spam, fish, teriyaki beef, and a piece of fried chicken, all served over white rice. Visually, the plate was packed and definitely filling. But for me, it was a texture and taste thing—it just didn’t hit. I couldn’t finish it, but I’m still glad I gave it a try. Service was pleasant, the space was decently clean, and there was plenty of parking. I saw a lot of locals enjoying themselves, which made it clear this is a go-to comfort spot for many. Someone told me Zippy’s is like Hawaii’s Chick-fil-A, and I can respect that. It just wasn’t my flavor lane. If you’re visiting the island, I’d still say give it a try for the cultural experience. But for me, it was a one-and-done. 💬 Like honest food reviews with personality? Follow me on TikTok for more feedback and food videos: @kaychap1

The store also offers a cheese and charcuterie set that pairs well with wine and provides curbside pickup services.

This is the tiniest Dean & Deluca I've ever been in in my life. I usually visit the Napa, California location. Honestly, your local Starbucks in a mall is larger than this place. There's a spot for getting a hot sandwich and some very pretty frosted cookies and some condiments, but that's about it. There's very little selection and if there are more than 3 people, it feels cramped because they put a table right in the entrance way. Hope you don't need a wheelchair to maneuver around this place. Also, if you have dietary restrictions, check everything. They have wheat in their honey mustard for sale. -_- Visited September 2024

Dean & DeLuca in Waikiki is such a gem! The pastries are absolutely delicious. They're fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. Paired with their excellent coffee, it’s the perfect start to the day or a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. The vibe of the shop is warm and stylish, with just the right mix of energy and relaxation. I loved Dean and DeLuca New York so I was super excited to see Hawaii, and we tried the Hawaiian Salted Caramel Frappe it was delicious and on par prices for drinks compared to the major competition stores. The do offer food which I didn't get any of at this time, offering a nice variety of fresh products, some were already sold out by the end of the day when we came. But their product line of bags and aprons are very cute but extremely expensive and I think overpriced, they could stand to be about $10 cheaper on each size and I am a bag hoarder ( just ask my wife she hates it) so call me a technical expert Yes they are great quality and good colors but $29 for a small lunch bag size is really pushing it even in a tourist town. I looked at the other random products on the wall some coffee some seasonings priced about what you would expect for a cross between Hawaii/Waikiki/ luxury mall and tourist. The staff was sweet, drinks were great off that alone I would return and try other options.

One of the most popular entrees at Zippy's is the fried chicken plate, which features three pieces of juicy fried chicken served with two scoops of rice and macaroni salad.

It’s Zippy’s, how can you go wrong. Hard to beat Hawaiian comfort food. We ate brunch here on a Sunday morning, this location has both a sit down restaurant and the fast food takeout side. The menu options are nearly endless, so everyone can find something to enjoy. Our server was outstanding, was gracious enough to take the time to walk us through many of his favorites.

I’ve eaten my way through white tablecloths and tasting menus more times than I can count. But when I need a break from the precious, plated, four-bite masterpieces, I come here—Zippy’s. No reservations. No dress code. Just the kind of food that fills your stomach and your soul. I crave the oxtail soup. The fried chicken is crispy, salty, perfect. I love it. I love it all. The chili, the spaghetti with garlic bread, and the chili loco moco, which is outrageously good. I’m talking about a full-on, pig-out session. The food’s always hot, always fast, and always hits the spot. Next time, I might ask for a side of loco moco gravy just to make it extra messy. 10/10.
Winston C — Google review
I highly recommend you order online or through the Zippy's app. Walking to the takeout side to order and wait for your food is exceptionally long, especially at dinner. It's much easier to order through the app and, when it's ready, grab it from the locker. Thursday night, it seemed chill, with not too many people ordering or waiting for food. However, online orders were queued in between the person in front of me and my own. I counted eight other online or app orders before I finally got my food. It was very frustrating. As for the food, Zippy's is a local staple that has been around for generations. There are many classics on their menu, and I got two of them: a Zip Pac, but I replaced the teri beef with hoki. I also got an apple napple for dessert.

Good neighborhood spot to get some Hawaiian classics on the fly. We tried the spam and eggs and the loco love. Both were delicious and got the spot! The interior of this location was a little dated and rundown but the food was good. The service was confusing because there was no clear spot where to order and they were taking orders from people behind us in line. We ate on the fast food side before realizing there was a seated dining area in the back. Service may be better on that side.

Amazing Hawaiian dining that is a staple for locals. The food is authentically Hawaiian which attracts many customers at all times. There is usually a wait of about 15-30 minutes per order. The service is friendly. The food is tasty and fresh. My only complaint is that the air conditioning is turned up too high so it was way too cold. Bring a jacket if you're going to dine in. I ordered their seasonal plate. It was filling, but the meal could have used some vegetables to break up the flavor. The chicken was slightly greasier than I prefer, though the chili was a classic. Completely DISAPPOINTED!! Won't be returning here at all!! The food was completely bland! My husband & I ordered the Belgian Waffle 🧇 Combo. After 5+ mins later, the waiter returned to inform us their waffle maker was broken & they could do pancakes 🥞 or French toast. We both chose French toast. DISAPPOINTED!! French toast had ZERO flavor & was just bread and bland bread at that. The egg was slimy whites as the cook wasn't experienced enough to get it right. The corn beef hash had almost no flavor & I've NEVER tasted any in my lifetime that lacked flavor. Guess it's a first time for everything. In addition my husband ordered the oxtail soup. It was good he says & I took a small portion of his off top but mines was consumed with the bitter cilantro flavor & wasn't tolerable and I love cilantro but not when it completely takes over. Nothing compared to Jamaican oxtail so don't expect that at all! My husband's egg was supposed to be scrambled & it was a folded egg with non melted cheese packed inside like a hotel does at breakfast. We both were told our meals came with the 2 eggs as we were trying to understand the menu but it came with one egg so we both ordered a side of egg which was $2.70 each. Nothing was flavorful at all except Kevin, the waiter's energy. And that's the ONLY reason I'm giving 2 🌟!! Wayyyy, overpriced!! Will never return here. There's too many other options of good food. Guess we picked the wrong choice of meal here.

Mam’s Bread and Butter is a hidden gem located above the Bank of Hawaii on Kapiolani in Ala Moana mall. To find it, visitors can go up the ramp, turn right and right again, then park with assistance from the attendant. The meat pies are highly recommended, especially the mince and cheese option. Some customers found that adding more cheese and salt would enhance the flavor.
Wanted to share precisely where they're located, directly above the Bank of Hawaii on Kapiolani in Ala Moana mall. Going up the ramp turn right and right, then park there where the attendant can show you a spot for a quick run in to pick up. This was my first time trying a meat pie and it was delicious! The crust was flakey, it was baked to perfection, and it wasn't small in portion at all. I tried the mince and cheese and would definitely recommend! They were so nice and helpful in recommending one I'd like, I'll be sure to be back soon.

Wow! What a find. Such sweet, kind hearted Kiwi's and the most delicious Steak and Cheese pie I've had. This place is a must do! Will definitely be back 🥰💙

I am from New Zealand, and have not had a proper mince meat pie since I was there last. This was so delicious I almost cried! They got it all right, the crispy but moist crust, the filling, the cheese. We will be back and we took a couple for the freezer too.
Sarah P — Google review
delicious!!! Definitely a hidden gem that’s worth a visit. Tasted homemade and was hot 👌 Hard to find though: You need to go to the 3rd floor using the elevators next to the bank and hospital building. Then you go outside and the door is around the corner on near the parking lot. Just ask an employee if you get lost :D
Lydia — Google review
We were there this morning and waited in line for about an our before they opened. We were presently surprised at the way they were made and tasted. If you ever had a real meet pie from Australia or New Zealand you will know these are the real deal. The filling taste great and the crust is flaky. They taste just like home. Can’t wait to go there again.
Partrick P — Google review
Was here on Tuesday 3/29/2022 and had their mince & cheese and bacon & egg meat pies. Their mince & cheese was good but I would’ve liked more cheese and salt just to bring it over the great threshold. Bacon & egg however was superb as it reminded of the same quality pies from a bakery in Avondale, NZ. Today, 3/31/2022, I had their steak&cheese, butter chicken, and their sausage roll. Steak&cheese came out swinging out the gate with strong and savory flavors of the steak and the cheese giving a contrasting touch but still working in harmony as a pie. Butter chicken pie has a mild and subtle flavor profile. Curry is not as pronounced in this pie compared to other but definitely a good butter chicken to get you through the door to try other variations of this pie in the future. Sausage roll… What more can I say? It’s a sausage roll. TLDR; Mince&cheese, steak&cheese, and butter chicken pies are must buys when visiting this pie bakery. As frequent NZ visitor, these pies holds true of what a NZ pie is and supposed to taste like and for them to bring it to Hawaii is a life savor for those that love meat pies.
Lualala N — Google review
We've had meat pies during a trip to New Zealand and loved them. We were so happy to find them here made by a family with both New Zealand and Hawaii ties. The pies are amazing with flaky, light crusts and delicious, savory fillings. We will be back for more!
Lorraine L — Google review
For over a year, I’ve been trying to get my hands on one of these pies. When I tell you… DIVINE! I ordered the mince and cheese. As soon as you cut into the pie, the aroma fills the room! 🤤 The filling flavor mixed with the buttery crust.. Lord have mercy! Why didn’t I order two?! But It’s quite filling so one is just enough! No pun intended 😋 Can’t wait to go back. Thanks Mam’s!

Kulu Kulu is a charming bakery in Honolulu known for its exquisite pastries and cakes. The menu features sophisticated treats such as the strawberry roll cake, green tea tiramisu, and special hello Kitty strawberry shortcake. Customers appreciate the easy ordering process and delightful decorations on their cakes. The papaya mango mousse cake received mixed reviews, with some finding it lacking in flavor despite its impressive presentation.
Kulu Kulu in Honolulu is a hidden gem for dessert lovers! I tried their Matcha Tropical Mousse Cake (January special), and it was incredible. The rich matcha flavor paired perfectly with the creamy tropical mousse creating a light yet indulgent treat. The texture was smooth and airy. Definitely a must-try! Video Review will be posted on Tik Tok and Instagram soon @Foxyappetite

We really liked the ube vanilla twist soft serve. The matcha chocolate soft serve was not as good, tasted mostly like white chocolate with a little matcha flavor—still enjoyable but wish they had a regular matcha ice cream. Ube matcha twist would be next level

Great and very delicious desserts! Their strawberry shortcakes and mango mooses melt in your mouth. I also highly recommend puffs and Tokyo cakes! I come back to Kulu Kulu every time I am in Honolulu.

We found this place specifically the rainbow cake. Light and fluffy and delicious. Can’t identify a specific flavor. Tried to diamond had cream pop. Deal for five for one. But we just got the one. Very light and delicious. Highly recommend.
Caroline P — Google review
Their desserts are absolutely amazing! The bear puff is my favorite and it’s perfect in sweetness and creamy. I really liked the texture. The presentation of the desserts are also really cute that I didn’t even want to eat them. I had to go a second time to bring some to the US mainland.
Cesar M — Google review
Such a cute little bakery this is totally the spot you go to reward yourself with a little treat. My favorite part is how aesthetic all of the choices are! With that being said it’s only a four star review because I feel a few of those pastries deliver more in aesthetic than they do flavor in texture, and unfortunately, you don’t always know what you’re in for meaning the descriptions of the pastries are vague enough to be surprised. The only other downside is there are quite small desserts with a quite normal price point but again, I think you’re paying for the excitement and joy that comes with looking at a very cute dessert.
Christine K — Google review
We tried them out early on in our trip and knew we were going to come back for sure! We tried the Carmel cream puff first and it was a winner! Had a very nice Carmel flavor and was not too sweet. We then went back for the diamond head chocolate cream puff and it was great too! (Carmel was my favorite.) Both shells were crispy and well cooked. These cream puffs were also really big and worth every penny. Would totally recommend for a sweet treat or snack!

I got a couple of treats and I have to say they might be a little pricey but if you wanna get a treat for yourself come to Kulu Kulu it is great and has so much variety when it comes to desert treats here! the line wasn’t too long and the people were nice. it was a great way to cap off a fun day in the waikiki area. if you want a good tasty desert treat you have to come here and get some fresh cake there isn’t much more you could ask from a place this was a great experience and definitely deserves a lot of love. definitely recommend to everyone in the area.

JJ Squared Bakery is a bakery with both Western and Eastern flavors. They have great customer service, and their pastries are fresh and delicious. I especially enjoyed their ice dessert.
This bakey is by far the best I've ever been to! I highly recommend anyone to visit. The cake I ordered is phenomenal & taste amazing, made exactly as i requested. I didn't expect it to have strawberries on the inside, and it was a wonderful birthday surprise for my daughter! It's definitely not a basic cake that you get from any overpriced cake shop. Also suggest you try their honey oolong tea & tuna ham sandwich, I order it nearly every time I go! Enjoy!

Aloha everyone! 🌺 Got a new review for you! Recently, my Sister and Nephew grabbed a few goodies for me from JJ SQUARED Bakery. I liked it. So did my the rest of the family. My nephew had a slice of their Chocolate Cake with Strawberries and their Baked Cheese Toast. My Sister had a Coconut and Raisin Bun, they got my mom a Ham Bacon and Cheese Roll (savory) and I had a Brown Sugar Walnut Bread (my personal favorite-very fluffy and soft also good with soup or turned into a sandwich), Curry Beef Pie (real bits of beef, strong curry flavor), Pineapple Buttermilk Bun and Green Tea Almond Cookies (nice with hot tea) prices are reasonable. If you’re already in the area, come and check them out, you might find something you like.
Tammy K — Google review
I had the lucky chance to taste almost everything in this establishment. This is an Asian style of desserts, if you know what that means. Less sugar and more fluffy. Mango Mousse is my favorite Scallion Hot Dog was sweet. ... its ok?
Laura C — Google review
The bakery has a nice clean feel and the products are displayed nicely. Such a large variety of baked goods to choose from! The cheesecake bread with chocolate is light and fluffy with a slightly crispy top; flavorful and not overly sweet. The Oreo sea salt milk tea is yummy. Creamy with a hint of tea. Not too sweet and not too powerful...refreshing on a hot day. I'll have to come back with friends so that I can try some of their other items...I'm sure if I bought a bunch with the intention to share, I'd probably eat them all.

Good stuff. Strawberry cake was really delicious, but the black forest pastry was very dry and did not taste good. Their fruit cakes looked delicious. Wish they had smaller portions to try. Overall good collection of deserts.

Good costumer service, all the pastries I tried were very fresh and great authentic flavors. I also had an ice dessert and I love it so much. Over all very tasty and unique flavors for a great value. I would love to come here whenever I'm around. Also I would love to find out if they have any other locations so I can visit it.

Yummy and affordable Chinese style bakery. Their breads are SO soft and fluffy. Got the buttermilk buns and coconut buns which were tasty and perfectly sweetened. Just wished they had seating and restroom access

Chinese bakery
Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery, located in the heart of the city on Maunakea St., is a popular spot known for its excellent dim sum offerings. The bakery is famous for its steamed and baked manapuas, ma tai su, jin dui, and peanut candy. During Chinese New Year, it's a go-to place for traditional good luck sticky rice cakes called gau. While there's no sit-down dining available, customers can grab their favorite treats to go.
Found this place walking around and had to try the baked pork bun. Fortunately while in line they just brought out a new tray. Very tasty, warm, with a generous amount of meat filling. Highly recommended and will be back soon.
Alex — Google review
This place has the best Manapua on Oahu. The bun has the right amount of sweetness to it but not overwhelming and the meat inside is delicious. Don’t be intimidated if you see a line going out the door because it goes very fast with all the girls at the counter working efficiently with speed. The sticky rice siu mai is a must try to accompany the Manapua.
Ryan C — Google review
I have been coming here since my favorite bakery shut down in Chinatown. Sing Cheong Yuan’s food such as their pork hash is so delicious and stuffed full of tasty pork. I also would recommend the half moons as the dough is subtle and the filling has a nice texture and taste. Of course the classic manapua is always good. I would suggest coming to this bakery and you won’t be disappointed.

Taro steamed bun - 3.75 stars Generous with filling, not too sweet, but should be served hot/kept in a warmer as the bun was hard. Will need to steam it again when we're home. Green bean pork rice dumplings Taro snowskin mooncake
N T — Google review
This place must be carrying old recipes, the old fashion Cantonese taste is authentic and great! Don’t let the looks deceive you, the items I tried were good! Egg tart, zongzi with beans, egg, pork(green leaf wrapped with sticky rice inside). Tasty coconut candy.
Weiling C — Google review
If you're craving authentic, flavorful dim sum and manapua, this place hits the spot. Every bite bursts with freshness and tradition. The har gow (shrimp dumplings) were perfectly steamed—delicate wrappers and juicy filling. As for the manapua? Soft, fluffy buns packed with savory char siu that melts in your mouth. Very fresh food here.

Almost everything we tried here was good. The shumai, half moons, and shrimp dumplings stand out the most for me. I will defiantly be coming back here again

Patisserie La Palme D'Or is a charming cafe located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center, offering a delightful fusion of Japanese and French culinary influences. The menu features an array of Japanese-influenced French pastries and desserts, alongside an assortment of creative teas and coffees. Visitors can indulge in seasonal treats and buttery croissant sandwiches, with highlights including the decadent Tropical Fromage - a luscious coconut cheesecake topped with lilikoi mango mousse.
Nice store with great cake options. The strawberry short cake filling is just right. It's ideal to those who don't like super sweet cakes. Prices are not cheap compared to other bakeries, especially the custom or Birthday cakes. It's worth a try or treat your loved ones once in a while. Phone line can be busy. Had to call multiple times to get someone on the line.

I come here for my favorite cheesecake, strawberry shortcake & tiramisu. Every year. I come here for a special birthday cake for my daughter. This place is very special.
Shelly Y — Google review
I’ve bought many cakes from La Palme D’Or and they’ve all been great! This bakery really has DELICIOUS cakes. The flavors are so delicate and refined. I was happy to find cakes that aren’t just loaded with sugar and butter. Recently they were even able to accommodate a custom birthday cake, the day before Mother’s Day. At the birthday, everyone loved the gluten-free chocolate cake. And the strawberry shortcake for Mother’s Day was a big hit! Everyone asked where I got it from. A few said it was the best cake they ever had. The young lady that helped me was very kind and patient.
Nathan W — Google review
Idk what happened to this place. Previously the strawberry shortcake had three layers of berries and 3 layers of chiffon with a vanilla cream. Now it’s flavorless cream, barely any strawberries, and the chiffon cake I swear to god is milk bread. It’s so dry it takes the moisture from your mouth. The ladies that work there are smiley and kind still but this place really isn’t even close to the best bakery on the island.
M — Google review
Thrilled with this stunning & delicious cake that made my birthday so incredibly special! We ordered the Mille Crepe — coconut cream in between layers of crêpes with mango, lilikoi, and banana jam on a sponge cake. Such a light and refreshing dessert. So grateful they use only the most pure, high-quality ingredients! It was a delight to work with Hiromi and her team; they run their business with excellence, ensure seamless ordering and pickup, and joyfully handle all questions and requests. Upon pickup we were excited to purchase a few additional gourmet treats in the bakery. So glad to have discovered this beautiful shop!

Got a custom cake and they were fantastic about it! I was able to place an order just 2 days ahead and I’m so grateful. It was so cute too! Not too sweet, definitely a Japanese-style cake - and the strawberries were so fresh and tasty!

Very popular patisserie at Alamoana center. (Entrance facing Parking near the Lanai food court ) Besides pastries and cakes, they have good selection of hot and cold drinks menu. Go early….but not too early. I missed out on their strawberry shortcakes at 2pm on Friday. If you have something specific to try, go earlier. And it seems to be based on your luck as well, since not everything are available at the time of the opening. I like their cake because it is not too sweet. It is very close to what you can expect outside of Paris or Tokyo.

The Pu'uwai Aloha Bakery is a wonderful gluten-free restaurant that offers delicious food, friendly service, and plenty of gluten-free options. The bakery is dedicated to providing healthier food without compromising flavor or texture, and the owner is so kind and welcoming. The pound cake with the sweet purple tarot was a favorite stop on our trip, as was the meatball sandwich. Everything we tried was amazing, dairy free and gluten free options included!
Cake is on point! If you were ever hesitant to indulge in gluten free treats look no further! This place will have you not even thinking twice about the cake you're eating. I ordered a GF/Vegetarian cake, and they delivered such an amazing cake! I got a lemon cake with strawberry frosting- excellent combination. They are very accommodating, kind and friendly - even though my order was a rush and I asked for the ingredients list. I would 100% order a cake from them again regardless if the person has specific dietary requirements or not! This is your sign to just order the dang cake/cupcake!

I was really sad they were temporarily closed since I needed a gluten free cake during my stay. But Franceska, was so nice. I was able to order a dozen gluten free cupcakes-strawberry guava with lilikoi frosting. It was so delicious and beautiful. I paid $60 for the cupcakes (small), I thought they were going to be the mini sizes but they are regular cupcake sizes to me. Best decision and I'd order again. It's hard to find a good gluten free cake with similar texture to gluten cakes, but you can't tell these cupcakes were gluten free. Highly recommend for your gluten free options if they have capacity and are reopen!

As a gluten-free bride, I wanted a wedding cake that I could enjoybut also one that my guests would love, and of course, it had to be cutie! Pu'uwai Aloha Bakery absolutely delivered. The cake was exactly what I had hoped for, and everyone kept telling me how delicious it was! I personally loved it and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Their team was so kind, and I’m genuinely so grateful to them. In the chaos of wedding planning, I accidentally ordered the cake for the wrong day but they were incredibly quick, accommodating, and so nice about the mix-up. They made sure I had my cake on the correct day, and it all worked out perfectly. Thank you all so much!
Ami B — Google review
Franceska was super helpful the other day as I needed to get a last-minute “Frozen” cake for my daughter’s birthday! She came through in the clutch and made us a beautiful blue cake which was delicious (I then added an Elsa figurine of my own). It tasted way better than cakes that have dairy in them (regular grocery store cakes taste pretty artificial and too sweet, in my opinion). There was so much attention to detail in the cake from the ingredients to the exterior. I would definitely get another cake from here in the future!

This gluten free bakery was what dreams are made of. If you’re looking for sage gluten free (and some vegan) options too, I recommend getting out of Waikiki and stocking up here on your visit to Hawaii when you can. I brought my gluten free family here, and we ended up purchasing a few days worth of snacks and bites here. Their famous Turkey sandwhich was freshly baked amongst other amazing treats we haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy for years like cinnamon scrolls. Highly, highly recommend. This might just be Hawaii’s best kept gluten free secret. And a bonus, the team informed us of the best gluten free spots in Waikiki, which made our restaurant bookings so much easier.
Lana L — Google review
Franceska is wonderful and did such an amazing job on decorating a cake for my wife and sister-in-law. Cannot recommend her cakes enough for those who have gluten, dairy, and other dietary needs/ preferences. We had the double layered strawberry guava cake with coconut icing. Also added fruit and flours to the top. Such a treat :)
Brady L — Google review
Decided to try Pu’uwai Aloha Bakery as they specialize in gluten free, dairy free cake. We ordered a 8” single layer minimalist cake ($70.00 USD) for our wedding. Went with the guava flavour and lilikoi icing. Cake looked beautiful and was delicious to boot.

If this was open every day, you bet I’d be stopping by every single day of my vacation. Everything we tried was amazing. My personal favorite was the pesto cheese roll. I wish we had gotten another one or two to go! Another highlight was the cinnamon roll. It had so much cinnamon filling packed in - just how I like it! They had samples and I really enjoyed the lilikoi cake. I’m regretting not buying a slice to go. It’s delicious. Go try it. This is the perfect place for people who can’t normally eat delicious baked goods because they’re gluten free! PS my gluten eating husband also loved everything!!!
