Japanese curry restaurant
Yokosuka Navy Curry Honpo Restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its international curry options and nautical-themed ambiance. The restaurant's roots trace back to the Japanese Imperial Navy, where it served simple and healthy food to sailors. The traditional curries are prepared using age-old recipes and are served over rice, accompanied by a side salad and milk. Yokosuka City is renowned for its association with the American naval base, but it also boasts a reputation as a curry town.
Yokosuka Navy Curry Honpo is a 2 storey establishment where the first floor sells navy curry and other souvenirs while the second floor is the restaurant. Waiting times can be expected to go above 30 minutes for weekends due to higher crowd volume and if it is the peak hours, there is a waiting list by the stairwell on the first floor where you can write your name and number of people dining in. I ordered the special beef navy curry set for 1650円 which comes with 1 curry rice, macaroni salad, a glass of milk, and a after-meal coffee. The curry was mildly spicy and the beef cubes in the curry were good, it also has carrot and potato cubes added for nutritional balance. The milk which comes with the set helps if you find the curry too spicy for your taste. The salad was a nice side palate cleanser while the bitterness of the navy coffee was just right, it comes with a pack of sugar and creamer for those who prefer it sweeter. The restaurant décor has a vintage aesthetic along with the other decorations that are naval-related such as Kantai Collection and Haifuri.
ShinoCoffee — Google review
The first floor that you immediately walk into is a souvenir store which mostly sells pre-packaged curry. Go up the stairs to the second floor for the restaurant. Restaurant is nicely decorated and seems to always have naval media playing on the TV. Food itself was somewhat average but very filling as the special curry set includes a pasta salad, Japanese pickles, rice, curry, a glass of milk, and your choice of an additional drink such as coffee or tea. Seems popular with the locals as many office workers appeared to come in during their lunch break.
Bent Z — Google review
I am a huge curry fan so this place is like a dream come through. The curry was exceptional, words can't describe how unique that blend of flavour was. There were many signatures of what i assume is from the anime industry with lovely posters everywhere.
Kit L — Google review
At the end of the lunch hour. The curry was great. The naan spent too much time under a heat lamp or in a microwave -- definitely not fresh and very tough. No service while eating the meal to inform anyone of the problem. Gurkha Nepali beer recommended.
George C — Google review
I come to Yokosuka cause I like in a life of sailor and Japan navy history. And I feel I want to eat a legend of Japanese Navy's curry. It's a lot of restaurant that have a navy's curry in menus. And this restaurant is not make me disappoint. So delicious, so tasty, not spicy too much, and have a lot menus about IJN warship gimmicks in their menus. Such as Tenryuu's set menu have a curry and Tatsuta-age (Tatsuta is Tenryuu's sister ship and serve a menu Karaage that fried with potato-flour, different from ordinary Karaage.), Kongo's set menu have an English curry with potato fried and black tea (cause IJN Kongo built from England and sent to Japan, so they think she might be born from England and grow up in Japan), or Shimakaze's curry set have a curry with sausage 15 pieces! (Cause in history IJN Shimakaze have a torpedo tube on her deck 15 tube). This restaurant is very interested and connect with game online 'Kantai Collection (Kancolle)'. I'll absolutely come back again.
Kiroku K — Google review
Overall good curry! Has a bit of a fruity taste compared to normal Japanese curry, which make it taste less heavy compared to normal Japanese curry! Which helps as it also comes with milk, tea and a salad!
Gordon C — Google review
Amazing curry but super long wait. The set is bigger than expected. Even though the restaurant decoration and atmosphere is not interesting the food was great. We tried 4 dishes and all of them were delicious. Just be patient because your food will take a while.
Emiliano L — Google review
The dining area is naval-themed and very Western in design. There is a sheet of paper that you must write your name on to be called when seating is available (put your first name into Google translate and write the characters in Japanese as best you can, or ask someone to do it for you). We waited about 15 minutes to be seated which was not bad for a weekday. The English menu has only the basic beef and chicken set available on it, so if you want to try something other than the most basic meal, please ask for the Japanese menu, say "Nihongo menu, kudasai" and point on the menu to what you want. Otherwise you will be given the one page English menu without all the more interesting dishes. There are many options in the Japanese menu.

Fast food restaurant
Hamburger restaurant
Burger King - Yokosuka Central is a popular fast-food spot known for its grilled burgers, fries, and shakes. Visitors have praised the good quality of food and fast service, typical of Japan. The Whopper has been described as almost identical in flavor to the one in the US. Some customers have suggested having an English menu visible from outside for better preparedness when ordering. Overall, it's considered a consistent American fast-food experience with exceptional service and delicious offerings.
This is the absolute BEST BK i ever went to. Everything taste awesome! Cooked fresh and hot and crispy...everything you get looks exactly like the pictures in volume and size and beauty. It has been this way for more than 10 yrs ive been coming here. Kudos to the owner, managers and staff as they have upheld this level of quality for at least the last 10+ yrs.
Gotcha P — Google review
Very nice BK with two floors. The staff were nice enough to offer us an English menu to help us navigate the unfamiliar Japanese options. There is a self service kiosk you can use which also helped a lot. We enjoyed eating on the second floor, we just wish the view from the window was less obstructed.
Brad S — Google review
I forgot to take a picture of the burger 🍔 but it was so delicious 😋
Yumi Y — Google review
I went there the day it open before I left Japan in June 2009. It was pretty good and service was fast as always in Japan. There a little but of line but it was the first day of course. They also gave out King crowns too as well. I gave it to some random kid. I cant wait to go back again someday.
Justin D — Google review
Young Japanese employee talked so rude when we asked for a special request. I requested to talk with the manager and the situation got worst. Manager is Nepali or Indian and should not be in that position at all ( Burger King needs to retrain this so called manager in customer service). Filipino employees are very respectful and nice to customers. NO ISSUES WITH FOOD!
G C — Google review
Good burger.
Chris E — Google review
Always a good consistent American fast food experience. The Whopper is all most spot on to the flavor you get state side, and since their employees actually take pride in their work, I believe I ate Burger King more than I ever have in my life while visiting Yokosuka!
Ryan S — Google review
Great Burger King, easily accessible being right on blue street. This is not the greasy fast food of the US. It's amazing to order food and it looks like you pulled it out of the commercial. Great fast food place and will recommend to anyone. Definitely one of the better burger King's out there.

Dobuita Street is a vibrant American-influenced strip in Yokosuka, Japan. It's known for its military-gear shops, burger joints, and lively bar scene. The street is a shopper's paradise with a wide variety of souvenirs ranging from delicately crafted jewelry to eye-catching bomber jackets reflecting the city's naval history. You'll often see people in camouflage clothes walking in front of the military base and bustling activity at the bars.
The iconic street from Shenmue is a fantastic place to visit, offering a variety of great shops, restaurants, and a genuine sense of community. The atmosphere is vibrant and lively, with a vast selection of sukajan jackets and dome. There are also some great bars and restaurants to relax in.
Dean T — Google review
Dobuita Street in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, is a lively district known for its blend of Japanese and American cultures. Due to its proximity to the U.S. Naval Base, it features a mix of shops, restaurants, and bars offering unique local flavors and entertainment. Visitors can find everything from Yokosuka Navy Burgers and Navy Curry to military-themed apparel and Sukajan jackets. By day, it's great for shopping and exploring, and by night, it becomes the heart of Yokosuka's nightlife. A must-visit spot for a culturally rich experience.
Yang — Google review
Just visited this magical place. I was looking for sailors.
Ruslan B — Google review
You can spend a large fortune part of the day sifting through the shops on Dobuita Street. It houses a variety of goods from souvenirs to vintage clothing. There’s something for everyone.
Tyler S — Google review
The birthplace of Sukajan 💙 While Yokosuka has many places where you could hang out and buy stuff... this street is here is where I find the most creative stuff. There are vintage items on sale as well. You'll never know this is where you buy your next great find. I love the street, the people, the sellers (the old Japanese men and women are very polite and kind to talk to... but there's no haggling prices with them hahahaha). The Sukajan on sale are exquisite. I love the shirts, the bomber jackets, the embroidered stuff. The more exquisite, the more expensive they are priced. But hey, this is the only place where you have so many options and designs of Sakajans so when visiting Yokosuka, buy one. It's enough proof you were there without saying you were there.

I visited Dobuita Street in Yokosuka, Japan after originally discovering the street in the game Shenmue. Although it's changed over the years it offers a unique and somewhat surreal experience with its Americanized atmosphere. I visited during the week around 6pm in March, and although it was fairly quiet, some bars were still open. For a livelier atmosphere, I would recommend going on the weekend. It's got an American vibe with an abundance of English and sometimes poorly translated signs added to the charm. Walking to the soundtrack of "Get Low" blaring from a nearby bar, it was filled with english speaking people. The food and drink options along Dobuita Street leaned heavily toward American cuisine, offering a wide range of familiar dishes and beverages. It was a bit surreal to encounter such an Americanized place in the heart of Japan.

Western restaurant
Family Garden, a Western eatery in Italy, offers delectable Neapolitan flavors and a delightful crispy crust. Highly recommended for those craving the exquisite mozzarella de buffalo experience. Their burgers are skillfully crafted with fresh-baked bread and top-notch ingredients, ensuring a heavenly taste that leaves the bread melting in your mouth rather than your hands. The impeccable balance of flavors is truly remarkable, exemplifying perfection. The chicken dishes are simply amazing; tartar sauce can be skipped without any disappointment.
Had the grilled chicken salad and it was delicious. The garlic seasoning and juices from the chicken was so good. Was out exploring while visiting family and decided to stop here on a whim. Seated quickly and great service too.

For English speakers, As the name states, great for family. A family restaurant with food kids meal options and great choices of food. They heavily figure on Hambagu but they have good pizza options too. I'll have to try their pizza next time because they have a good pizza oven. We are trying to go to a place across the street for a group of 9 but they had a long wait time around 5pm on Sunday so we decided to come here which they had availability. They didn't have a bring bar option here even though the menu stated they have drink bar. The staff was friendly and most of them know English if you need assistance. Worth checking out for a good lunch or dinner.

The location was clean and well cared for. The service was prompt, attentive & respectful. The food was well prepared, perfectly seasoned and delicious. If you are in the area and in need of a bit this would be an excellent spot to stop into for that purpose.
Burton H — Google review
Neapolitan flavours and a pleasing crispy crust i cant recommended them enough for people who want the mozzarella de buffalo. In italy ive tasted burgers that try to use italian strengths like fresh baked breads and fresh ingredients, this place does that but makes it so the bread "melts in your mouth not in your hands" then also being doing the thing where you take a bite and a bit of the insides slip out a little. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Momiji Chaya is a cafe that specializes in matcha-based desserts and traditional Japanese dishes. They have a variety of delicious desserts, as well as udon and rice dishes. The cafe is very comfortable with modern lighting and decor, making it an enjoyable place to visit. Their most popular item is the Matcha Tiramisu, which features a rich cream and bitter Matcha flavor which together make for a delicious dessert.
Passed by, decided to have a quick desert of the matcha tiramisu, ended up with another hojicha tiramisu. Texture was creamy and smooth. Tastes great! Matcha latte was smooth and great tasting!
Ralph T — Google review
Lovely matcha desserts at the end of the street. After the blistering hot sun, decided that we needed some respire, we came here and got their Tiramisu and Matcha Latte. Service was great and ambience was amazing. Tiramisu - softer than your usual and very tasty, matcha powder provided the aesthetics and the tiramisu inside was well sweetened. Matcha Latte - Usually unimpressive, but this is delicious, matcha is fresh and the latte with the syrup blends well

Japanese sweets restaurant
Sakura no Yumemiya is a renowned sweets shop that offers a delightful selection of Japanese desserts, with a specialty in Dango. These small rice flour balls are steamed to achieve a uniquely bouncy texture and come in an array of flavors and toppings such as Sakura, chestnut, roasted soybean, taro, honey lemon, strawberry, edamame, and nori wrapped. The store's wide variety of options ensures that there's something for every palate.
This rice dumpling specialty shop is located in the middle of Komachi dori and near Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. They sell different kinds of unique and colorful dango. The last time we went here, we got the "4 color rice dumpling" and "Hydrangea rice dumpling". Both of them were delectable and a perfect quick-bite dessert.

I stopped by this shop on Komachi Street and purchased the 4 Color Rice Dumpling to experience a variety of flavours in one go. Each piece had a unique topping and was beautifully presented — a fun and tasty way to enjoy traditional Japanese sweets. The shop has its own small eating stand and bin, making it convenient to eat on the spot. Service was friendly, prices were affordable, and it’s a great little stop while exploring Kamakura.

Delicious!! I got the Strawberry Bean Jam Dango and was pleasantly surprised by the flavour. Soft, chewy, tangy and not too sweet.
S T — Google review
JAN 2025 Tried four different dango flavors from the store; sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, mugwort rice dumpling topped with smooth bean jam, and honey lemon bean jam. Dango has a soft and nice chewy texture. All the flavors were pretty good; favorite was the sweet soy sauce, a classic sweet and savory combination, and the honey lemon which had a sweet citrus note.
Barry — Google review
Menu offers 21 different dangos with english/chinese/korean descriptions👍🏻 There is always a queue but the queue is cleared very fast~ very aesthetically presented, especially the sakura/hydrangea/4 color/strawberry ones. Personally would prefer if it is warm then the rice dumpling would be more chewy ☺️ After purchasing, able to go to the alley beside and eat there (provided there is no queue for the store in the alley). After done, able to return back the tray and chopsticks to the store.

Bakery
Yokosuka Bakery is a charming, long-established spot that has become a beloved local favorite. While it may not boast the most visually appealing bread, its weight and variety are impressive. The bakery offers an extensive selection of baked goods, from sweet treats to savory options, making it a paradise for bread lovers. Despite some mixed reviews on specific menu items like burgers and fries, visitors often rave about the unique offerings such as tanuki bread and cheese-laden delights.
Delicious selection of melonpans, some also have a flavored filling! The cream cheese bread is also great. They give a complimentary paper cup that you can fill with tea/coffee. Love it
P B — Google review
I am all for supporting local businesses, so it hurts me to leave a not so good review for this bakery. The service was friendly and the variety of goods was nice, but nothing tasted good. 1. Got the steamed brown sugar bread which was the only item that was decent. 2. Carrot Cake Muffin. Tasted like CURRY POWDER was added to it. Had a very strange aftertaste. The frosting for the carrot cake which is normally a rich sweet texture, tasted only of cream cheese and nothing more. 3. French Toast Apple Pie/Cheese. A soggy mess that fell apart easily. Very strange taste overall and not pleasant. 4. Egg Bread with Ham (I think?). The egg part with the meat was fine but the bread was a soggy mess. Be very careful what you order here. The unique dishes we tried did not taste good. It's too expensive for the quality of the items. I would not go back. The shop gave complimentary coffee though which was nice.
Vinny F — Google review
Small shop but a huge selection of different baked goods. It seems the have it all, from sweet to savory and everything in between. Well priced for a snack or even a carb heavy meal.

The donuts with various fillings are an absolute delight! The one with chocolate filling is my favorite but last time it was out of stock so I had the one with strawberry filling, that was really delicious too. Really makes my day when I have one of these in the morning. The filling is not too heavy but substantial, and is throughout the donut, not just at the visible opening. When I have one, it really feels like I ate something, not just a tease. The free drink service is nice too and today there were some chairs in front of the shop so we just sat there and ate our donuts with some ice tea while watching the passersby. My husband had the custard filled donut, that was really yummy too. I wish these donuts would sometimes be sold outside the ticket gates at Keikyu Kurihama station where there is all kinds of pop-up sales regularly.

(Translated by Google) It seemed crowded at noon, so I was curious and came here. This is my impression of a beloved local bakery (^^) There was also a description that the shop was the birthplace of the original French bread. Lots of different types of bread in a small space! This alone makes bread lovers happy! And, unique to Yokosuka, the menu was written in both Japanese and English. ・2 types of donuts (custard, pistachio) ・Bread with lots of cheese (I forget the name!) Purchased the above. When I got home, I ate them both, and they were both heavy and had a lot of toppings, so I was very satisfied! I was also happy to be given a drink after purchasing! I would definitely like to visit again when I go to Yokosuka Chuo.

Kitakuriya Honten is a popular ramen spot in downtown Yokosuka, known for its Tonkotsu and various types of ramen. The restaurant offers a unique take on tonkotsu ramen, with originality and great value sets. It's conveniently located near Kitakurihama Station and stays open late, making it an ideal choice for a satisfying meal. The spacious interior allows for comfortable waiting, despite the restaurant's popularity.

(Translated by Google) Opened at 5pm on a weekday. No wait. Soy sauce tonkotsu ramen topped with mixed vegetables. I thought it would be like the Atsugi family's vegetable garden, but it wasn't that generous. That said, the rich soup and vegetables go well together. There's also a decent amount of spinach by default. The restaurant is spacious even with just the counter, so it seems like it can accommodate a fair number of people. Even though it's open on a weekday, customers keep coming in, showing how popular it is. It's not so impressive that you'd want to come here just for this, but it's a good option if you're in the area.

(Translated by Google) [Visited in October 2025] This ramen shop is located just outside the Keikyu Kita-Kurihama Station rotary. They serve Iekei ramen, but they also offer Japanese-style tonkotsu and tsukemen. I visited a little after 4 PM on a weekday and there was one customer before me and none after. The restaurant only has about a dozen seats at an L-shaped counter. The dimly lit interior creates a somewhat lonely atmosphere. Also, upon entering, the smell of pork bones being cooked in the restaurant is quite strong. Those who are sensitive to this smell should be careful. Ordering is done via ticket vending machine. This time, I ordered the Japanese-style tonkotsu (900 yen) and half a bowl of rice (80 yen). The Japanese-style tonkotsu is a mild Iekei-based tonkotsu broth with bonito stock added, giving it a flavor more seafood-oriented than pork bone-based. The bonito flakes are placed directly on top of the ramen, but I felt that it detracted from the texture of the ramen. I don't know where the noodles were made, but they were medium-thick with a chewy texture that I really liked. The toppings were pork slices, seaweed, seasoned quail fish, green onions, and chives. I felt that the chives didn't quite go with this ramen. For a Japanese style, komatsuna would have been better... Half a bowl of rice was 80 yen, which is a blessing these days when rice prices are still high. The rice was wrapped in seaweed soaked in soup. The ramen overall wasn't particularly outstanding, but I felt that this was a ramen shop that would be widely accepted. Thank you for the meal.

In Kamakura, a must-visit spot is the Kotoku-in Temple in Hase to see the iconic Great Buddha statue. While exploring the area, be sure to try Tomoya Kamakurakomachi's unique Daibutsu-shaped snack. This Japanese sweet resembles Ningyo yaki and features a soft dough with various filling options. The shop offers six different fillings, including popular choices like blueberry cream cheese and ham bacon.
This shop is famous for their "Daibutsuyaki", a Buddha-shaped cake with different kinds of flavor to choose from. My personal favorite would be the "Bacon and Cheese" flavor because of the generous amount of fillings inside. They also sell other products like soft serves, shaved ice, etc.. The long line is definitely worth the wait.
夏美 — Google review
Apparently a popular spot in Kamakura thanks to their “Daibutsuyaki” - a pancake-like treat with different kinds of filling. I originally stopped because I was keen for some Hokkaido ice cream, which they also serve, and I decided to get both. The vanilla ice cream in a cone (450 yen) and was delicious! So creamy and tasty - I enjoyed it more than Japan’s popular ice cream Creamia. You can also get it in a cup if you like. I got the plain custard Daibutsuyaki (220 yen) and it was also delicious - no wonder it was popular. It was very soft - the cake part was exactly like a pancake and it had a pretty generous amount of filling too. Make sure you eat off to the side and don’t impede people lining up. There was a small garabage bin inside that you could throw your rubbish in as well. I’ll absolutely be stopping by the next time I’m in Kamakura.

I stopped by after visiting the Giant Buddha and had such a lovely experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and let me know the Custard Good Luck Buddha Cakes would take about 10 minutes — I didn’t mind waiting, and they came out fresh and warm. Such a fun and memorable treat at an affordable price. Definitely worth stopping by!

Tried the Good Luck Buddha Cake with custard filling (JPY 220). The texture was too soft and the custard overly sweet, though the filling was generous. Served warm and uniquely shaped.

We ordered the budhha cake custard flavor and it has a generous amount of filling. It was worth the try although there is nothing special aside from the fact that it is buddha shaped. Overall, if it is your first time visiting Kamakura, you can check this place out for the experience

Giraffa Curry Pan is a popular treat found at a small food shop on the renowned Komachi-dori shop street in Kamakura. This delectable curry bread is deep-fried to perfection, boasting a crispy exterior and a mouthwatering combination of Japanese curry and cheese inside. Despite the possibility of taking it home to reheat, savoring it fresh on-site is highly recommended for an optimal experience.
I ate fried curry bread with cheese. It was so good! The outside was crispy. The curry and cheese inside were hot and tasty. I ate it while it was warm — super yummy! It’s a great snack when you’re a little hungry. Many people were in line, even on a weekday.
Isra A — Google review
Best curry pan I've had! Stopped by almost at closing but they were still making the buns fresh. The cheese was so stretchy, combined with the bread being slightly sweet and savory curry made it a heavenly treat. It's really hefty though, and probably highly calorific so if you're watching your weight, a piece of this might set you back a week's worth of effort...
Gary C — Google review
Highly recommended to try Giraffa’s Curry Bread, priced at JPY 450. The outer layer is super crispy, especially when eaten warm. . The filling has a delicious, savory curry flavor with a mix of beef, pork, and melted cheese that makes it even more delicious. . This snack is quite popular, so there’s usually a line, but it’s not too long and the service is fast.
Sara M — Google review
Such a solid snack. Very hot good crunchy breading outside, curry is flavorful but not too strong, cheese pull is satisfying. Only wish the distribution of cheese and curry were even throughout.
Skye N — Google review
The warm, rich and savoury curry is perfectly paired with the cheese and crunchy bread A must buy snack if you’re in Kamakura!

I have to agree with all the good reviews on the Giraffa's curry bread; it is a "must eat". It was so tasty that we had an average of two per person. Do eat them while they are hot and yummy. We tried their Meyer Lemon Sour. It was also good.

Long queue with quick service, only selling curry buns here. Freshly fried, cheese was melty and very stretchy. 500 yen per bun

Must try if you're around this area. It was so good! The curry and cheese in the bread was such a great combination and the bread itself was crispy on the outside since it was served hot. I regret not getting more...

EARTH House, a renowned Thai food restaurant in Yokosuka, offers delectable cuisine and a warm ambiance. With a dedicated staff serving their homemade French Onion Soup and other delicious dishes, this eatery welcomes both hotel guests and locals alike. Although there might be occasional wait times for food, the exceptional taste makes it worth it. Recently updating their menu in April 21, EARTH House now exclusively serves authentic Thai fare such as Chicken and Cashews with fragrant Jasmine Rice.

Larb chicken salad was very spicy but a bit dry. Lemon grass beef was very good and tender. Tom Kar soup had more coconut flavor than anything. The spring tools were good but instead of the normal peanut or sweet Thai sauce, it tasted like Italian dressing.

Pad Thai was SO SALTY which was almost uneatable. The ready-made sauce must have been used for double the amount for its recipe. It felt like I was eating just sauce. It was really bad for the health of my heart. I had to pour my tea into it to make it less salty but it was still uneatale. I would not recommend this place.

The best Thai restaurant in Yokosuka. The food is always good, the ONLY bad thing is you can have a long wait time for your food, but well worth the wait. I've eaten here numerous times since they reopened serving Thai food and have never had a bad meal.

Right outside Yokosuka Naval base is a very clean bar that I accidentally walked into with my friends. My friends ordered dinner and let me try some of what they received. I expected simple bar food but it was genuinely the best food I've had in Japan thus far. This place deserves to be far busier than it seems to be.

Kamakura Chacha is a popular gelato shop in Kamakura that specializes in matcha-flavored treats. They use high-quality matcha leaves from Shizuoka Prefecture and offer different levels of richness for the matcha flavor, allowing customers to choose their preferred bitterness. In addition to gelato and soft-serve ice cream in matcha flavor, they also serve hojicha tea and royal milk tea gelato.
This is a wonderful shop that I can confidently recommend to matcha fans, especially those looking for the most authentic product. If you have never eated matcha taste before, I'm a little scared that if you have your first experience here, you will be more critical of matcha in the future. That's how authentic it is. Big, juicy fishcakes in different flavors. Bought the best seller octopus and ginger fishcake and it was indeed delicious. Very generous octopus filling, no fishy taste and texture is just right. Visitors have praised the attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and provide excellent service.

They also have a La carte as well. Staff were attentive, quickly brought out food, polite and spoke some English. Food was great , service and views were wonderful. The service is superb. The staff is considerate and friendly, making sure guests feel well taken care of. It’s amazing restaurant attached to the Yokosuka city art museum! They have a great view!! If you choose the outdoor table, your view would be all over the sea!! Especially lunch set is amazing! Napoli pizza is delicious! You can have appetizers, drinks and main pasta or pizza for the set! Also dessert menu looks nice!!! Really amazing restaurant located wonderful location!

Wonderful view of the ocean, coffe was great, cafe latte normal, walnut cake was so yummy and a generous size. Didn't have any mains so can't comment on them, BGM was Jack Johnson.

Nice place, with great view and OK food. For those who drive: there is a good choice of drinks.

As referenced in my museum review, this restaurant is good value for money when it comes to the lunch set. I tried the spaghetti with fresh seaweed in cream sauce, and it was very nicely done. While the food itself is nothing to write home about, the view is spectacular. Be prepared for a relatively long wait on weekends and public holidays.

Looking for a fantastic undistracted view on the ocean? Well, this is a great place. However, this might be the only positive experience of this place. The food is on the B- level. Expect long waiting times as this place is really popular.

Marlowe Akiya Honten, a seafood and Italian restaurant in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, offers a diverse menu that attracts many visitors. The establishment is known for its delicious dishes and pleasant atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm ambiance and friendly staff. The restaurant also provides free parking for its customers' convenience. Whether you're craving seafood or Italian cuisine, Marlowe Akiya has something for everyone's taste buds.
I went here on two separate occasions. While I can't read or speak Japanese the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was able to navigate the menu fine with pictures and the food was delicious. Both the seafood risotto and the pudding were excellent. Food is reasonably priced and was filling. Thanks again for your hospitality, I highly recommend this place. Good view of Mount Fuji too on a clear day.

This restaurant is famous for its pudding. I ordered the kani pasta, which was also really good. Although the food was a bit pricey, I think it was worth it. I got the pasta and the pudding + drink set, which cost around 3,500 yen in total. It’s also located right across from Tateishi Park, where you can hang out while waiting for your table (there was quite a wait when we went around lunchtime on a weekday).

We went in the afternoon, so it was take-out only. There are various flavors of pudding and other souvenirs box. We got the original custard pudding and tiramisu. (+two spoons 1857jpy in total) Both were very good and filling too because it was such a big cup of thick pudding. Felt a bit pricey at first but when found out that we can keep the beaker, it justifies the price.

Good food with a nice view of the water. I highly recommend the crab and spaghetti. The creamy tomato sauce is amazing. It is fun to cut through the crabs and enjoy all the tasty meat inside. Once you’re done I would get some of the cheesecake it was fantastic. A lot of people were getting the pudding since they are known for it so I imagine it is good. No better place for the price of the crab meal I have found.

We booked well in advance for our large family group and a special occasion, but the restaurant had us on separate tables. When we asked that the tables be put together, the restaurant refused even though there was no good reason given why not. Only after everyone had arrived and asking for a second time were we able to all sit together. Why the initial refusal? Why be awkward but this? We were not impressed at all. The food was very good, but it should be given the prices. No pasta dish under ¥2000. Personally, I refuse to pay for pasta in restaurants (outside Italy), as it's a cheap food and requires minimal skill to cook. The fish carpaccio was very good, as was the Hayama beef steak. On the steaks, there are 4 sizes, but per gram, a large steak is more expensive than the smaller size. Seems odd me me.
GMan C — Google review
The crab pasta was cooked al dente, but it was a bit troublesome to eat the crab and it would be great if they could provide plastic gloves. Taste-wise it was okay, couldn’t really taste the crab in the sauce, with the mushroom flavor being more dominant. The custard pudding was okay, but the tiramisu pudding was good, although its texture wasn’t really pudding-like. It took almost an hour from queuing up until the food was served.
Ghifaroza — Google review
I only knew the delicious pudding but our dinner was also very good with a variety to choose from and helpful staff

The pasta was delicious but the true reason to go is the pudding. I had the chocolate pudding and the Black Honey pudding. Amazing depth of flavor and when you get it to go it comes with a cool glass cup as a souvenir!

Restaurant
HONEY BEE is a renowned restaurant established in 1968, known for being one of Tabelog's top 100 hamburger spots. Situated across from the U.S. military base in Yokosuka, it was inspired by the owner's experience in a U.S. military mess hall during the 1940s. The food is highly praised, although it may be on the pricier side. Visitors appreciate the excellent service and friendly staff.
I loved this place (I visited twice). The burgers are like delicious home made burgers. It’s just the right size, with fresh ingredients, all in the right proportions. The beef was very good - but I have had better before (I am being very strict here!) The atmosphere was like an 80s burger parlour - the decorations, the music and the decor all added to the atmosphere. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and appeared to take pride in their workplace and the food they provided. It didn’t seem like “just a part time job” to them, but something more. The only reason I gave 4/5, and not 5/5, is because they accidentally added cheese to my burger. However, before serving it to me, they apologised and admitted they added cheese, and asked if I would accept this or if I wanted it made again. They said they would not charge me for the cheese. I accepted it, and it was delicious! (This happened both times I visited, so if you want a burger without cheese make sure you are clear!). I never expected to taste burgers this good in Japan.

Tried the Bacon Egg Cheese Burger (¥1840) + Combo (+¥500) + Lemonade upgrade (+¥100) at HONEY BEE in Yokosuka. Total: ¥2440. This classic American-style burger featured a 100% grilled beef patty, crispy bacon, fried egg, melted cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and onions in a lightly grilled bun. The patty was simply seasoned with salt and pepper—not super juicy but still flavorful. The bacon added savoriness, while the tomato provided refreshing juiciness. The combo came with crispy salted fries and a drink. The lemonade was sweet, zesty, and refreshing, complementing the meal well. No fancy gimmicks, just a well-executed, old-school burger. 🍔

Delicious. Don't sit next to the door, the grill makes it too warm to sit without sweating. I got the bacon egg cheese burger combo, which was really good. Heavy on pepper but the deliciousness of the burger outweighs the mountain of pepper. Perfect portions.

I stopped in for lunch and was I very impressed with the taste of my cheeseburger. You know, just a classic cheeseburger. In particular I thought the quality of the meat really stood out as delicious. Actually, I was so impressed I had to go back a second day for lunch. On the second day I went I tried their special signature Honey Bee burger… which was also good but I preferred the classic burger.

You need to queue to wait for your seat. Order the double cheese burger and honey bee burger set. Honey bee burger set come with a small plate of honey, fries and drinks. The patty was well seasoned and taste nice. Prefer the double cheese burger. The price is on the high side.

wanted to order signature menu yokosuka navy burger but was 2-3000 yen too expensive. Even steak is 3000yen smth. So ordered just cheese burger + 500yen combo (fries + drink) Burger bun was bit crispy outside n soft inside. Sooo good 🤌🤌 N taco 🌮 also was good.

The food is amazing, bit expensive tho. But the service is great and staff are friendly and kind! Love this place and will definitely come again. About the curry, they suggest dip the chips with curry sauce. These two actually fits together! And for the honey bee burger, they’ll give you a plate of honey and suggest you mix it with mustard and add it on burger is surprisingly tasty. Really recommend to those who want to try curry and burger here.

TSUNAMI is a popular navy-themed diner known for its towering signature burgers and delicious curries. It is the sister store of TSUNAMI BOX, where you can enjoy Mexican cuisine and tasty burgers at SURF TACO. The restaurant offers a wide variety of big, flavorful burgers at reasonable prices. While some visitors have mentioned that the staff can be a bit rude, many praise the quality and size of the burgers available. The selection of burgers is extensive, with each offering unique flavors.
I tried the avocado burger at Tsunami, and it was absolutely delicious! 🥑🍔 The burger was stacked with fresh, creamy avocado slices, a perfectly cooked patty, crisp lettuce, lots of grilled onions, and a flavorful avocado sauce that tied everything together. The bun was soft yet sturdy, holding up well with every bite. I also loved the side of jalapeños—it added the perfect kick if you want some extra spice. Everything tasted fresh, and the portion was generous without feeling heavy. Definitely a must-try if you’re looking for a flavorful, satisfying burger in town!

I LOVE a good burger and this place delivered a GREAT burger. I had the Trump Burger and it tasted like freedom just like I thought it would. Had the Biden burger. Cheese was nice, coleslaw was tangy. Burger was good. Bun is brioche and tasted quality. Looked bad and the price is so so. I got the set with wedges and a drink for extra 450 yen the total came to about 2700 yen which was about £14. Wasn't the best I had, nice experience but wouldn't try again. Would go for the navy burger but it felt too big. Wedges were from frozen but tasted ok.

+Big burgers. Decent price. Good variety. -Staff is a bit rude. First off the food is real good. Burger I got was amazing (although it wasn’t the same as the description which was strange). I also got the extra hot buffalo wings hoping they would be at US levels of spice... they weren’t. Standard Japanese spice level. Still, the wings were good and came with blue cheese. The variety of burgers you can get is kinda crazy. Not just the number offered but the dramatic differences between them all. Be careful because they are super filling and you may end up with more than you chew. Good selection of beer and drinks. There is almost always a line of people waiting to get in so expect to wait a little while. The waitress we had seemed super uninterested in helping us or feigning interested in the slightest amount. Maybe she was having a bad day or was tired of dealing with English speakers (even though we ordered in Japanese). It was a little off putting to try and order from someone who clearly wanted nothing to do with us.

Good American hamburger restaurant at Yokosuka. Usually there is a long queue but it won't take long so don't worry and be a little bit patient. Don's Restaurant is a well-established eatery situated by the water, renowned for its traditional Italian cuisine and a picturesque terrace offering breathtaking sunset vistas. In January 2022, a visitor shared their pleasant encounter at this charming establishment. Upon arrival near Tateishi Park, they noticed that the cafe occupied the second floor while meals were served on the third. Despite it being an unusual time to dine, they proceeded with their meal selection.
The atmosphere is truly enchanting, enhanced by a breathtaking view that sets the perfect backdrop for a romantic evening. It’s an ideal spot to share memorable moments with a loved one. The food exceeds expectations, offering exceptional quality at a wonderfully reasonable price. Every dish is a delight, and the service is impressively swift, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience. Each bite proves to be a culinary delight, leaving a lasting impression. I highly recommend trying the Gorgonzola pizza drizzled with honey; it's a captivating combination of sweet and savory flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. The blue crab pasta stands out with its rich, creamy texture, providing a decadent indulgence. Meanwhile, the braised short ribs are incredibly tender, bursting with flavor, and simply melt in your mouth.

I had the best birthday/Valentine's dinner ever at this restaurant. The staff - even Don himself! - made everything special and we're grateful to have celebrated here. We had the For Two Fancy set that included cold and hot appetizers, salad, calzone, risotto, Blue crab spaghetti and a dessert. All was fantastic. Dessert was personally presented with birthday song by Don and the staff. Also, I really like that they offer a nice variety of beautiful mocktails (alcohol-free cocktails). Can't recommend this restaurant enough! And cant wait to come back.

1/2022 Very lovely place. Parked at Tateishi Park. Café on the second floor, meals on the third; we were asked which and we thought Hmm. Weird time but meal I suppose. At around 4:45 it was just us and another couple. Exceptional service… courteous of course, but with the perfect balance (touch) of friendliness. We were surprised that the waiter doesn’t take note of the orders lol, it is all in his head. Dishes were nice of course, just not eye-popping or anything, but perhaps the course meals are ☺️ The quiche was maybe four bites. Watched the stormy sea from our seats…. there was sea salt all over the window that day. (They told us it is clean, usually. 😂) Nice experience. Another good memory of Yokosuka.

This is the spaghetti with cod roe, octopus and an espresso with cream. The octopus was okay, it was very tough but had a good flavor. But the espresso and spaghetti where perfect. The sauce was very creamy and the cod roe where tiny, so the textures blended very well. Server didn’t speak english but was very accommodating, their menu had English translations and had a beautiful view of the water as i enjoyed my meal. Spent about 3000 yen and am definitely coming back soon!

However, the people around me said that it was delicious, so I wonder if my taste is weird. I get the impression that there aren't that many types. Is it normal to have around 11 types? I haven't been to a buffet lately. There were also 4 types of curry, miso soup, bread, sweets, fruit, etc. It's like a curry buffet. The Indian curry was the most delicious. The petit choux was also delicious. It was so hot that I started sweating as time passed by the window. (Translated by Google) Although it is the main dining room at the Kannonzaki Keikyu Hotel, it does not have the atmosphere of a resort restaurant, and is reminiscent of the low-minded large box hotel restaurants of the Showa era, which offered only poor and sloppy service at tourist destinations in the countryside. The dinner menu for guests includes Japanese and French food, but even though there is a French restaurant, that place is closed and a mix of Japanese and French customers are dining there. It can't be helped because it's a cost-cutting measure, but the staff on the floor move around so hurriedly that it's hard to relax and enjoy your meal. Although there should be a large number of people, there were many staff moving around unnecessarily, which is the lowest level for a hotel restaurant. Many of the meals are of a level you wouldn't expect from a hotel, and most of the Japanese food is prepared in advance. At the breakfast buffet, only the rice was freshly prepared in super-large electronic jars, something I've never seen in a typical hotel, and the rest was simply reheated food made the day before. A large amount of fried eggs were floating in the water, perhaps to prevent them from drying out? It felt disgusting. For the miso soup, there was something like a coffee machine that automatically mixed miso and hot water, which left me speechless. This should also be used for dinner. Leftover rice must be reheated in the microwave and used for lunch or dinner. However, the drinks are priced at the same level as a first-class hotel. There were no medium bottles of beer, only small bottles, making me want to ask if this was a high-end sushi restaurant. In addition to the staff members wearing aloha shirts, there was a small middle-aged man wearing a white dress shirt, who ran around the floor abnormally and was the most unpleasant staff member. He didn't smile and had a stern expression on his face, and I don't know if he was a manager giving instructions to the staff, but he was the one who ruined the atmosphere the most. Why don't you wear aloha? The white dress shirt doesn't look clean. It's poor and shabby, so I hope people don't hang around on the floor. When I was looking for a staff member to sign for drinks when I was leaving after the meal, a female staff member immediately told me that she would sign for me instead, which made me angry. I should have mentioned this when I first ordered, but I was forced to go through extra trouble. It seems that the hotel will close at the end of September 2022, but the new hotel will not rehire these third-rate staff, but will hire fresh people with no bad habits and train them on service from the beginning, and will provide a proper minimum service. I would like to open a restaurant where I can do this.

No wait at 1600 on Sunday. Service was very responsive. Food came out hot. The food was good, but needed some more flavor. I got a level 3 spice and it felt like a 0.

My husband wanted to stop by, and we are glad we did! The food and atmosphere was great and relaxing. The garlic cheese Naan made was so delicious, and the butter chicken was well seasoned. I ordered some samosas and was reminded of my childhood. Amazing experience and will be stopping by again before my stay is up!

I had a really great experience in this restaurant . While there are some places in Japan that won’t serve Americans this place was extremely friendly. The food was full of seasoning. I had cheese naan that was full of cheese and flavor and also honey naan that was excellent and not too sweet. My rice came in the shape of a little heart and that made me smile. My butter chicken was delicious. There was so many delicious items to speak of. I ate there twice in two weeks. I do recommend this spot. They have an amazing liquor collection as well.

Yokosuka being the internationally friendly place it is, this restaurant is no exception. They all speak English, have English menus, and English speaking patrons. That’s not to take away from their actual food tho. Everything was top notch solid, big portions too, which I liked. Great for bigger parties.

Overrated for sure. Calling it amazing butter curry is a stretch. While good, its not extraordinary. Employees are serious and aloof. Prices don't match quantity or quality. Very average experience overall. Meat lacked flavor and so did the rice. Cheese Naan was excessively coated and filled with cheese. Probably the first time in my life where I thought a food item had too much cheese, but this one did. Restaurant itself was clean and nice on the inside but we won't be back.

Marine & Farm Sajima is a charming seaside restaurant that offers stunning ocean views and a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant takes pride in its presentation and culinary skills, making it a great choice for a special occasion or a peaceful escape. Visitors can enjoy delicious dishes such as pork with potatoes and vegetable pizza, all prepared with fresh ingredients. The service is excellent, and guests can savor their meals while taking in the beautiful view of the crashing waves from both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
I had seen a few postings from friends about this spot and I wanted to take the Mrs there so we went. It is in an awesome spot if you like ocean views and the food was quite tasty. We arrived after lunch and before dinner so the menu was limited but what we ordered was excellent. I had a pork dish with potatoes and my wife had a vegetable pizza. The service was excellent and we took some pics on the patio after we ate. We sat inside because this time of the year it’s too cold to sit outside but for summer I bet it would be great with an ocean view and breezes

Well pleased with our visits to Marine and Farm. The fantastic sea side location offers views to relax you and the smell of the sea to build an appetite. It's obvious from the presentation of the restaurant and attitude of those in the kitchen that Marine and Farm is proud of what they can do and how they do it. Great to see and experience. 👍 It is off the beaten path but worth it for that special occasion or much needed escape. Best to book and ask for the seats you want to make the best of this wonderful local. ➕ Delicious and well presented food. The outside deck has a magic sunset view and the atmosphere is nice. In good weather you'll catch a great view of Mt. Fuji. Plenty of parking. ➖ Portions are average and the dishes can come too fast. While a few staff seemed to love their working and their customers, a couple of younger ones seemed to be just doing the hours. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I loved the atmosphere, service, and food. Everything we ordered was prepared in a timely manner and tasted very fresh. I enjoyed vegetables of the day pizza, fried potatoes, tiramisu, and a hot latte. There is also a beautiful view of the crashing waves from indoor and outdoor seats.

Kaneyo Art Café is a trendy spot with beach hut-inspired decoration, offering fish prepared in sushi style or breaded and fried. The staff is excellent, friendly, and accommodating, fluent in English. Limited free parking is available but requires a short 3-minute walk. The food is delicious and the restaurant's ambiance and view are delightful. Whether you choose to dine indoors or outdoors, you won't be disappointed.
The Staff to start is AWESOME. So pleasant, so helpful, English speaking. Free very limited parking and you'll have to walk a little ways (3 min) but it's worth it. The food is yummy. The view and aesthetic of the restaurant is wonderful. Whether you sit inside or outside you won't be dissapointed. The alcoholic drinks are a little disappointing, definitely pre-game and you'll be fine. I had the fried potatoes, appetizer, with meat sauce, which was very yummy. I choose the chicken chipotle as my entree which was AMAZING. Overall, I can't say enough great things about the place. This place is definitely added to my favorites. Definitely a spot to be social...when COVID lets us be great!

A hidden gem. We visited here on a sunday afternoon. Waiting time was around 20mins. We had ume and chocolate cakes with iced coffee, all tasted pretty nice. There’s an AC but it’s like an open space so be aware if you can’t stand the heat :). Other than that, everything is perfect for a quick weekend getaway ;).

Maybe a bit pricey, but was a great place for our anniversary! You would never imagine finding a restaurant like this where it’s located... we had some trouble looking for it by car the first time. We were recommended this place by a few of our friends and fully enjoyed our time there, sitting pretty much in the sand in August! The three-legged dog at the door is adorable too :)

Great location and food, as well as friendly service. The staff are very helpful and also speak English well. The interior of the place is quite special with many interesting details. Also great that you can sit outside near the sea or on the newly built terrace. Been a few times and feels like a holiday on the beach there every time. I'll be back!

I would have never found this restaurant if not for a friend who frequents this place. Parking is limited. You'll find that you have to make your way to the restaurant, someone will hand you a card that shows you where to park, you go park and youbring that card back. Lol. At least, that's what I observed. Anyhow, on to the important stuff. They have a quaint menu and based off what eventually came to the table, what I really mean to say is they use what's seasonal, most of the time. While they have other items in their menu, there are four lunch specials all around 1700 yen. It comes with small sides, a cup of soup, your main and a dessert. I had their Wakame, mushroom, & cheese pizza and their Wakame salad. I love Wakame so any chance I can eat it, it's happening. Both were tasty! Never had Wakame on a pizza. That was a first for me and definitely not going to be a last for sure. I forgot to mention that most of the seating is outdoors, on the sand, practically on the beach. Lol. You can smell and taste the salt of the ocean in the air as you conversate with your friends, waiting for your food. Oh and I also learned from here that Jasmine Tea and Ginger Ale are great combined together! Overall, great experience! I would love to come out here and try their dinner.
Pua — Google review
Definitely worth the trip - the ambiance is laidback and the view is peaceful. Interesting preparations of the food, which results in a unique beachside Western/Japanese fusion. Tried the local mushroom and seaweed pizza and would recommend it. Interestingly enough, the salsa they used for the seasonal seafood carpaccio was spot on. Hard to find decent fresh salsa in Asia!
Austin M — Google review
Amazing food, great laid back beachy vibe. The owner is into art, so there is fun artwork on the walls. Kid and dog friendly. But the food, man. I've been a few times and the food is outstanding each time. I've gotten pizza, different salads, sautéed fish and tuna sashimi. All have been delicious. One kinda downside is the parking; they have a small dirt lot and it fills up quickly (at least on weekends). But we come early and have gotten a spot each time.

CoCo Ichibanya is a popular spot known for its delicious Japanese-style curry. The restaurant offers allergen-free curry options and provides a tablet at each table for easy ordering, with language customization available. The menu features a wide variety of curry and toppings, including the highly recommended soft-boiled egg. Whether dining solo or in a group, visitors can expect quick service and English-speaking staff.
Expect crowds and maybe a wait when there is a Navy ship in port. Otherwise I thought the food was very delicious. Albiet if you don't like spice maybe this place isn't for you, as even the more basic curries had a bit of heat. Overall I highly recommend the hand breaded pork culet curry with a side of cheese naan. Also if your a fan of their curries you can buy take home packs of curry that you just add to fresh rice from the front counter.

Japanese curry hits different. Coco curry with the different toppings make for a great meal anytime of day. I've had it in other countries (US, PHIL) but the rice makes a BIG difference. Pictured is my go to with light crisp chicken at a spice level of 3 out of 10.
Harry — Google review
Ordering was a bit of a fumble at first — the iPad system threw us for a loop, and the English tab wasn’t super obvious. But we eventually pieced it together, and honestly, that’s part of the adventure of living in Japan. You learn to roll with it. Once we got our food, though? Totally worth it. The curry is next-level — rich, bold, and nothing like the Coco’s back in the States. This stuff is legit. Prices are fair, and there’s a wild variety of toppings to customize your plate. They’ve even got a kids menu, which made things easier for our crew.
Jason R — Google review
We love coming here! Coco Ichibanya is one of our favorite curry restaurants. The food is greatly priced and the portions are good! The restaurant is a little on the smaller sizd and it does get a little busy here during meal time hours because the naval base is nearby, but I've never had to wait too long.

Like a lot of non-locals, I have a deep love for this chain. From Hokkaido to Honolulu, you always know what you're going to get at this restaurant. It is consistent, cheap, and yummy. As such, I typically would not leave a review because I look at this place very similarly to the way I look at McDonald's. However, this particular outlet is special. I don't know how they are training the staff in this restaurant, but the service you receive is absurd. On our last visit, three of the staff met us at the door to say goodbye in unison. That is weird and lovely and left a mark. Thank you Co Co!

The food is delicious 😋🤤. They have allergen free curry options, though I didn't try it. They do run out of some dishes if you get there too late at night. Staff is friendly and courteous. I haven't seen it full yet, so typically no waiting to sit and order. I eat here whenever I visit.

Hamakura, a seafood restaurant known for its exceptional array of dishes, offers an outstanding selection of delectable options that are well worth the price. The flavors are unparalleled, with possibly the freshest fish available outside of a fishing boat. While some may find fault in the limited drink menu, this seems like nitpicking considering the overall experience. Despite its age, the place maintains its charm and has consistently delicious food that never disappoints.
We have been coming here for years! It’s one of our favorite places in Yokosuka and should be so much busier. The fish is the freshest around, for a reasonable price, and they put so much care into each dish, even the children’s plate. I highly recommend!

The restaurant's convenient location near Yokosuka station makes it an accessible dining option for locals and tourists alike.
As an American lover of Asian dramas - I had to try Subway in Japan and get the shrimp sandwich. I did and it was delicious... got the 6in shrimp and avocado sub on sesame bread - loved it for a quick, light dinner. They also offered hot potatos as a side (wedges, I think) and Pepsi products, but I only got the sandwich. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the staff members there is an older woman with glasses who is very stingy and has a bad attitude. Subway boasts that it is a shop that caters to people who like to eat healthy and modifies your sandwich to fit what you want to eat, but that lady will usually tell you you're not allowed to modify your sandwich. If you try to ask for extra vegetables she might put one extra piece on and think that's enough. If you ask for more, be ready to receive the stink eye from her and some sort of comment in a cranky voice. This place is bad news. Not going again

I had the opportunity to sample their Anago-don (Sea Eel) with a generous serving of vegetables, mushroom and pumpkin tempura to match. Tastes was good, oil was relatively fresh. Ikinari Steak is a steak house that offers an alternative dining experience for those looking to try something different from Pepper Lunch. Both the wife and husband ordered the 200 gram steak, which was generally good but had a few fatty chunks that were extremely chewy and needed to be spit out. The service was average, with the staff forgetting about customers once they were served, requiring flagging down to request anything, such as more water.
Ikinari Steak is delicious and I highly recommend eating here! The steaks are delicious no matter which kind you get and they have lots of sides and beverages available. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Come here alone or with family and friends! I miss this restaurant since I left Japan!

Great steak for the cost and don't skip the steak sauce. This is a small steak shop that seats about maybe 20 people and a popular lunch spot. The seats are pretty tight and you sit at a counter top, but worth the tight squeeze. Most of the steak or meat you get will be on a hot skillet and they give you paper apron to protect your cloths a little bit. The steaks were good and thick. Since it come on a hot skillet if you want well done you will have to wait for it to cook. While it is cooking recommend putting their steak sauce on it. It's tangy and not too sweet or salty. The lunch set comes with rice, salad, and soup. For the price I paid, I was full and it is well worth it. I got a combo which came with 150g hambagu and 100g steak and it was about ¥1300. Will come again and worth checking out if you want some steak.

Decent steak and amazing service. The place is sort of small and has only high chairs. Tall ppl will have an issue with seating. There is a place you can stand and eat if you prefer that instead.
Tykeshia — Google review
The place is small and only has high chairs making the seating not ideal for families with children. There is a take-out option which is convenient during this time of the coronavirus pandemic. The steak I ordered was a 20 day aged Japanese Sirloin steak 300g and my wife ordered the 300g Ribeye center cut. Both steaks were cooked medium rare and had about 100g worth of fat. It was served sizzling hot on a hot cast iron plate like most teppanyaki style restaurants, but the condiment/sauce options were more diverse. We ordered a hamburg steak for my son, the plate was a little too hot as it cooked the hamburg steak very causing it to be dry and hardened on the outside. My real issue, however, was the high chairs. It was too high for not only my son but also for my wife and me. I don't know if it's just me being an American and acting like spoiled baka-gaijin but I'm used to eating steaks sitting down comfortably without the struggle of sitting upright the whole time. Just a small adjustment, significantly altered my dining experience. The meat itself was not bad, but next time I'd rather eat at a pepper lunch for the extra bang for my buck.
Min C — Google review
My wife and I wanted to try out something other than Pepper Lunch so we came here. We both ordered the 200 gram steak. The steak was good, but had a few fatty chunks that was very very chewy and I had to spit out. The service was ok, once they serve you they kinda forget about you, you really just need to flag the, down and ask for whatever you want... like more water. Even though the food was good, we’re probably sticking to Pepper Lunch since it is cheaper.

The iPad was a little glitchy at first but pulled itself together after a few minutes. We have been twice now and love the small portions. The options are endless and there is so much to choose from. You pay by the plates so if someone takes your food by accident before it comes to you, no worries. 2 of us are and had deserts for $15. You really can’t beat that and being able to try new foods was ideal. Totally recommend

The menu features entrees served on wooden bases, with shaved ribeye arranged around rice and a pepper crust. Veggies are available as sides, and the broccoli is particularly recommended. The restaurant provides quick service at the counter, making it an ideal spot for a filling and affordable lunch.
Delicious, fun, and quick lunch… Mix between Japanese bbq and fajitas lol!!! Plus the onion sauce….. 🔥🔥🔥

Pepper Lunch is delicious and affordable! Highly recommend coming here whether you’re alone or with company. It is open for lunch and dinner. I really miss this restaurant since leaving Japan and always think about Pepper Lunch! Great steaks and customer service! The plate the food comes on is hot and it cooks the steak to your liking.

Good place to chill and enjoy your meal. The staff was really quick with the food and refilling water. Got the medium size pepper steak with regular meet. Was a good portion and didn't fill like I over ate. Ordered with side broccoli and egg. Added both the original and sweet sauce. Recommend adding one or both for more flavor. We also added a ground garlic which made it taste better in my opinion, but I like garlic tasting food. Should at least try it once.

Delicious, clean restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner with friends here. The Plate is really hot so just flip that steak and is done.

First off this location is cash only. I'm not saying this as a negative thing. Just an FYI. The food is delicious. This place is smaller than other locations and only has bar type seating. (In a deep Austrian accent) "I will be back."

Great place to get your fill in on skillet ready food. They serve their food on hot skillets and it tastes amazing. Good quality meat and it's grilled right on the hot skillet. I got the "Oniku tappuri" Extra meat Beef Pepper Rice. The rice on the skillet was great and comes with a garlic butter in the middle of the rice to mix it all together. The paper around the skillet was a nice touch to protect yourself for. The oil splash when it is initially served. Plenty of options to add more toppings and different cuts of meat as well. There are limited amount of seats in there about 20 all counter top facing middle. Worth checking if you want some skillet food and good amount of meat. Can't wait to eat here again.

Nirvana Indian Restaurant & Curry House is a cozy underground spot that always fills the street with the inviting aroma of curry spices. Despite its small size, it's a popular choice among guests who appreciate quick service and warm smiles from the staff. The butter chicken curry paired with cheese naan is highly recommended for its delicious flavors. Additionally, their Nepalese curry and Ume Sours are exceptional, making it a favorite dining spot in Japan.
This is one of good Indian curry restaurants! Always I smell nice curry spices in the street. It is located in underground floor so you get stairs down for it. It’s not big but always full with guests. Especially cheese nahn with butter chicken curry is really delicious!! They have quick service and nice smiles!! I like here!! You can enjoy really delicious lunch here!!

Wow! What a meal! I got a simple one curry set with chicken and naan. And as you can see from the pictures, the naan was HUGE. I also got the chicken fried momo, delicious. The salad was yummy too. I liked how they cut the carrot. To drink I got a cola, mug of Ume sour, and a medium green apple sour. The Ume is new to me but WHOA! Delightful and quite refreshing! The green apple sour was good as well! My server seemed to be the only one taking care of the floor, but he was super nice, and thankfully, understood and spoke English. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The short: Chai masala was really good, but the mark up price for butter chicken is frustrating. Longer: I was highly impressed with the chai masala. Had both spice and rich creamy milk used. The lunch curries are limited which seems to be the norm in Yokosuka, but this location charges extra for the butter chicken. The flavor of the butter chicken was not the best either, but it was good. The soup served at the beginning was delicious. The Nan was hot and fresh and unlimited. I'm still disappointed that the turmeric rice seemed like local Japanese rice and not basmati, but I've noticed that at other locations as well. The chicken Tikka was a good flavor. The staff was so nice and happy, this alone will bring me back, but next time I'll get the Paneer, but will pay more because it's not included in the lunch set. I'm still on the quest to find a favorite spot in Japan.

Underground and cozy ambiance. Creamy chicken curry. (590 yen) However, their spicy level medium tasted like zero spiciness to me... unless they got the order wrong or forgot to spice it up ^^; (No, should have checked the other reviews first..) Lots of tender chicken pieces. Mango lassi was good!

This place is good/average. I think the ratings it’s received is rather inflated. Atmosphere is great/cozy. Everyone that has given this place 4* or more haven’t been anywhere else or must’ve been super hungry which may have clouded their judgement. Service was good too. Got two curry setto chicken/pumpkin curry and chicken curry. Saag paneer wasn’t an option for sets. Spicy level hot. Same offering as Gorkha.
Sajid M — Google review
Aside from curry that i had last time, the other night i had food items like momo, fried rice and chicken chilli which were trash. The curries are good average. Just don’t try the items above. Price shown in the menus in the large number aren’t the actual. The actual price are in small font size. Place is small as well.

Nigiri Itcho is an open kitchen concept where customers can observe the sushi-making process. The sushi itself is delicious, with larger portions compared to other Sushiro restaurants, but with a similar setup. Instead of a traditional conveyor belt, there is a moving belt system. While the menu may be in Japanese, ordering can easily be done by writing down your preferences. The overall service is quick and friendly, and there is free parking available in the attached lot.
The best in Yokosuka! Everything is always Super Fresh and super delicious, you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Order from an electronic menu and it is very easy. And the Miso soup is absolutely fantastic!!

Feels like home! Shoes off type restaurant. Both the set and side dishes are awesome, but the handwritten menu does lack prices... come with plenty of cash ;) (don’t remember seeing an English menu..) (Translated by Google) I stopped by for lunch mid-afternoon while on a walk. There weren't many customers on weekdays, and the octopus pot rice seems to be famous, but today I ordered the recommended seafood bowl (1,650 yen) and tuna croquette (250 yen). The seafood bowl is topped with seared horse mackerel, amberjack, etc. and whitebait. All sashimi is fresh and delicious. The miso soup had a good dashi stock and contained plenty of salmon fillets, but unfortunately it felt a little overcooked and the strong miso flavor was strong. There are various mushrooms in the small bowl, and pickles are also included. The tuna croquette was made with a heavy potato base, so the flavor was different from regular meat-filled croquettes, and it was light and delicious. I'm full. I paid in cash today, but it looks like you can also use PayPay. If I come to the area again, I would like to try the octopus pot meal next time. Fresh “Aji (Horse Mackerel ) Sashimi” set menu. Very fresh. The restaurant is really an antique - it feels like it has been here for half a century. Takeout Restaurant
Udonkoubou Sanuki is a traditional and unique ramen shop in Japan that stands out for its authentic atmosphere and high-quality food flavors. The place features an old wooden bar with limited seating, allowing customers to witness the chef preparing the food. One of their standout dishes is the fantastic Curry Udon Ramen, which comes in a fried chicken version and can be customized with curry powder for extra spiciness.
FANTASTIC Combination of Udon Noodles & Curry Sauce !! I HIGHLY recommend the Chicken Curry Udon Here. The chicken is juicy and the curry sauce is creamy. You can also add how ever many pieces of tempura you like on the side; I chose my favorite ones such as shrimp and fish cakes. You can find this little gem located in the alleyway. It's a countertop layout and the seating is tight inside. I believe take-out is an option. Either way, definitely give it a try! This was the first place I had Udon and Curry together and they surely set the standard high for this dish. :)

My favorite curry udon place! I've been a regular the past 4 yrs. Prime example of a hole in the wall restaurant: relatively cheap, delicious food, limited seating, and popular among locals. Good portions too. They sometimes have seasonal foods, like cold sudachi udon in the summer. Must get the fried chicken curry udon on the first visit! The deep-fried mochi is also amazing! They accept card.

This is definitely the best Udon Tempura resto here in Yokosuka! Came in, though it was just an ordinary place... nothing fancy outside... but when the food was served, the presentation was 5/5. The taste, home-cooked fresh taste! The price, average pricing... really a good deal!

Both curry and tempura were good price and delicious as well! Please be careful not order too much like me az the price is quite cheap but the size was really larger then I expected! For tempura, only shirp and large fish are 1 serve per 1 order, while the small fish and the rest are 2 serves per 1 order. There or 5 seats and 5 stands in the shop.

Wow!! Fantastic Curry Udon Ramen!! I had the fried Chicken 🍗 version and I would highly recommend it!! Not so spicy 🌶 but they have the curry powder so you can add as much as you need to make it even more spicy! Limited seating so get there when they open at 11 or they have standing areas where you can stand up and eat it. Either way, well worth the trip! 🍜 Also I recommend the tempura fries which are actually potato wedges… Fantastic idea and tasted so good! 🍟 I skipped the butter 🧈 though, And dip them right in my curry soup! I will go back! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Talk about a traditional and unique! Despite ramen 🍜 shops being all around japan 🇯🇵 this place will definitely stand out during your visit. The food flavors are just what you expect and the quality of how is prepared closes the deal. But then, there is also the place: the atmosphere of an authentic ramen place ! You can see the chef preparing the food as you seat or stand around the old wooden bar which holds no more than 10 customers at a time. LEGIT!!! please make sure to be hungry 🤤 the portions are on the food size. English menu available on a tablet. You just pick and they take care of the rest. Not for strollers // kids that can reach a bar or seat on a small area could be fine. If your kids don’t need feeding, then it could work.

The McDonald's Mikasadori shop is a classic fast-food chain with a long-standing reputation for its burgers and fries. The staff is known for being very polite, and the food is of high quality. However, the layout inside the building is somewhat unusual, with a narrow shape that creates a straight line for ordering and tables along the walls. Amazing food! Spring rolls My friend and I loved our lunch sets. We ordered the green chicken curry and pan fried spicy chicken and pork set. The green curry was amazing and packed with flavor. The chicken and pork set was not spicy and had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. Only improvement I would say —The mango smoothie needed work. It didn’t taste like they put actual real fruit but more of some syrup. Overall, it was a great experience. I definitely would recommend their lunch sets.

If you want good Thai food, this is the place to go. It's tucked away on the 3rd floor of the building which youll have to take an old elevator up. The atmosphere is very authentic and feels like Thailand. The noodles were great and the basil pork was really good. Their spice is typical Thai spice level so be careful how you order. For English speakers, the waiter knew English very well and they have English on the menu so no issue. It is cash only so make sure you have yen. They were known for other good food like their Tum yum Ramen, which I'll need to try out next time. Worth checking out if you are craving Thai food.

Meh. The stars and stripes did a write up on this place and they WAY oversold it. Giving it michelin-like reviews. Clearly written by someone who’s never who has never been… It’s okay. Nothing to write home (or google) about. I had the spicy papaya salad medium heat. And the drunken spicy noodles with shrimp. The salsa was swimming in sauce and the noodle had almost none. Two floors above the Kami Buta ramen. Satisfying 900 yen lunches! I’ve never been to Thailand but I felt the red curry tasted very authentic. There was a lot of Thai basil in it, maybe? the leaves that taste like black licorice. You can get “spicier” for +100 yen, but since they bring you free chili pepper powder, that might do. It’s nice that the waitress asks if you want a normal serving of rice or less, with regard for food loss. (For the curry I would say definitely get the normal portion, at least! It’s very flavorful.) Nice little tiny piece of fried banana for dessert!

Visited December 31, 2024 Small and cozy with around 10 seats. Walls full of anime paraphernalia. We ordered a regular burger and a tuna omurice and the volume was so big that it couldn’t be contained on the dish and could easily feed 3-4 people that we had to do takeaway for leftovers. Taste was average, felt a little cheap and fatty and we didn’t get things on the house like other reviewers. Probably once was enough but not a bad experience.

Variety restaurant (burgers, curries, pasta, deserts, and drinks). Portion sizes are generous, taste is average, and the service is amazing. Friend got the medium fries, and we had to remove a plate full of fries to even see the giant 20cm (8in diameter burger). The Burger buns are light and fluffy, generous with the vegetables (big soft-ball sized tomatoes), while the protein ratio (burger, bacon, fish, egg, etc.) is average to low (depending on your extras). The atmosphere is full of JMSDF and Anime memorabilia, and was a good conversation starter. We got free shave ice and cookies as extra service with our burger orders. And the owners had giant smiles enjoying our reactions to the sheer size of the servings. I'll come back to try the other foods as well.

A cute little diner next to the base entrance. The owner is friendly and speaks some English. The walls are lined with Hawaiian memorabilia, Japanese Navy artwork, and lots and lots of references to the High School Fleet anime. The Yokosuka Navy Curry was rich and decently sized. It came with a fresh salad and milk. I was gifted homemade biscuits with a sweet strawberry cream spread and chocolate mochi spread afterwards, which was a nice touch. Would come again.

It's been a couple of years since we visited but we still have the wonderful memory of our meal. The burgers are giant! And delicious. All of the food was tasty and the owners were so kind and attentive and even surprised our young daughter with a treat at the end of her meal.

This is family owed cozy cafe!! Just looks for tourists! They have a bunch of local ornaments on the wall!!!! They have good cafe menus!!! Not large just a couple of tables but good atmosphere! Cheese with fruits were nice!! Enjoy!!

Nice burger spot with good burgers. The fries were really good and the portion size was very big. A cool spot to go and grab some food. Pay parking within walking distance, on the weekends this place will get very busy so if you don’t want to wait in a long line maybe go on a weekday or during off meal hours.

Delicious! I had the tuna steak omurice, and coming from someone who loves omurice, it was amazing! Portions are humongous so be aware to arrive hungry. Good selection of drinks and interesting decor. Service very fast, uses the button summons system. Per person probably 2000 yen on average.

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant

Takeout Restaurant
Sushiro Coaska Yokosuka shop is a popular restaurant with a frequent waiting list, so it's advisable to get on the list before arriving. The menu offers plenty of options for fish and sushi lovers, as well as non-fish eaters, with choices ranging from shrimp to prosciutto, tempura to ramen. The automated ordering system makes it convenient for non-Japanese speakers, allowing orders to be placed via a tablet at each table.
You know what you're getting with merry-go-round sushi, but the kicker here is how instantly the food comes out. The prices are great, and every piece of fish tasted incredibly fresh, the miso soup was not bad either. Waited about 25 mins for 5 people on a Monday night
G J — Google review
Sushi is simple, but decent price and fast to get to you after ordering. Try the ramen once and it was okay. Have been here 5 times already only being here for 2 weeks. 😅 Just be aware of what time you go because during the busy hours 1115-1300, you can wait up to 30 mins or close to an hour. It's the locals favorite as well, so must try at least once. Our favorite cheap sushi spot. LOVE their tempura items. Don't forget to order the tempura sauce if you get tempura items, which was free when we went. Best part for me and the family is the free make your own matcha hot tea. We normally spend $25 - $35 US dollar when we go, which would be about $100 in the States.

It's been awhile since I ate here. The sushi-go-round ordering, delivery system and payment are revamped and contactless. English speaking friendly (menu tablets) and easy to get a hang of. If you want high end sushi you are not in the right place. This is your daily sushi at a fairly reasonable price point.

Convenient and easy spot for solo dining! I came on a Friday around 5 PM and there was no wait at all. The check-in process at the kiosk was a little confusing at first, but you can switch the language to English and select how many people are in your party. It prints out your seat assignment. I chose the counter seating, which was the option other than booth, and it felt just right for dining alone. The sushi quality was decent. Nothing amazing, but definitely enough to satisfy a sushi craving. I had 10 plates, with either one or two pieces of nigiri per plate depending on the quality, plus a beer. The total came out to around $18.52 USD, which felt fair for what I got. Great option for a casual, quick, and affordable sushi fix!

I highly recommend downloading the LINE app and signing up before going to the store. Through the sushiro coaska page in Google maps if you press "Find a table" this will take you to LINE and show you how many groups are currently waiting and the estimated time (line usually goes by faster than estimated.) Through that page you can make a reservation for future dates or join the current queue. When you get to the store you have to check in on the kiosk with the number given to you on LINE (the hand holding a cell phone icon) if you do not check in your number will be skipped. If your number is skipped before you check in, you can still check in and you will be put in the queue as "on hold" and will be called somewhere in between the queue

I actually was quite disappointed. I have these back home in Maryland and and in Hawaii so I don't really feel like the concept was a while factor. I feel like the food wasn't very flavorful but it did taste fresh. The service wasn't the best. We didn't really have anyone checking on us or ask if we needed anything. The menu was interesting to navigate but you have plenty of options. I think it's a great spot you want to come with people who have diverse taste buds because everyone can kind of order what they want. My favorite sushi was the avocado shrimp and the pork belly

This place was super fun! It's good for non-Japanese speakers because everything is automated. There's a tablet at your table where you make your order, and you can select English as the language. Your orders are delivered to you on a conveyor belt next to your table. Food was very tasty, and seemed to be of high quality. My table tried many different items, and we're not disappointed with any of them. Highly recommend if you're looking for sushi. Also it is very budget friendly. Four of us ate for less than $60.

Japanese curry restaurant
Bengal is a fantastic eatery offering delicious food at affordable prices. Although the staff may not speak English fluently, they are incredibly amiable and helpful when presented with a photo of the menu. The establishment caught my attention due to its long lunchtime queue, but I opted to visit for an early dinner to avoid any wait time. With only around fifteen seats, Bengal provides a serene bar-like ambiance. One dish that comes highly recommended is the pork curry served with an egg.
Classic restaurant with ordinary Japanese-style curry. Super cheap and filling meal with great fast service. Countertop seats only which is fine when you are on your way home for the day and need a quick meal. English menu available and some basic side options too. You can't beat this place for the value and the lovely service.

Visited here twice!!! Outstanding Japanese curry's here for half century! I normally change place to eat while travelling but this is irresistible to eat again! Absolutely recommend "dry curry or seafood dry curry" with high level spices at which not spicy much but super tasty and full of flavors. Salad is good salty to make u saliva run more! And importantly is pickles(Tsukemono) can clean taste to be ready for next spoon! I would say this is the best Japanese dry currry in my life, and please eat with Japanese pickle cuz it fulfill the taste perfectly, this is culture and how to eat food deliciously with sour taste. And ultimately this food would not only fill in ur stomach but also take u to a cozy home cooking as grandmoms in this restaurant will treats u kindly and make food be intuitively understood how much they take care customer as if own family.

A hidden gem in Yokosuka and my favorite Japanese curry place in Japan, period. Very neat atmosphere with bar seating. Highly recommend the "dry curry". They have an English menu, if you need it just ask.

Great food! The staff didn't speak English but they were very friendly when I showed them the picture of the food I'd taken of the menu outside. Prices are very cheap. I was attracted to the place because I saw it had a huge line outside for lunch in the early afternoon (I went for an early dinner around 6:30 when there wasn't a wait). Quiet bar with only maybe fifteen seats. I got the pork curry with an egg. The mild wasn't spicy in any way (perfect for me) so definitely get hot if you want some spice.

Nice friendly place with English menu. The German sausage was smoky and over easy eggs are perfect, my morning breakfast spot. 50yen for each step up in spice level

Wednesday 1 pm, wandering around Chuo trying to choose a place for lunch… I see a surprisingly awful review here among other notsobad ones, and it makes me feel that I just have to go see for myself. lol. Only one or two others in the shop, which was much smaller than I had always imagined. Feels like being at home with mom and aunt who are busily washing the dishes and putting them away in front of you sitting at the counter seat. I chose the pork and beans curry, non-spicy (wished they had a mild, but probably not with this one), no toppings. Small salad came first. The curry was very good, with tender pork pieces, not too oily or anything. Tasted just right, portion was just right for me as well. The beans were probably soybeans- I would have liked other type beans better, but that’s just a preference… 750 yen. Doesn’t come with a drink, but it’s still a fairly good deal. Pay at your seat. It’s probably a must-visit for Yokosukans interested in curry, as the place has been around for so many decades, and I’m glad I got a taste of it in one of my last few months here.
E N — Google review
You can't go wrong ordering the food here. The English menu that has most of the toppings. My favorite is German sausage and egg, which goes really well with any of the curries. Meal portion sizes are good if you want a decent sized meal and not feel stuffed. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is friendly and helpful.

Masaru Oppama is a popular restaurant known for its delicious katsu dishes. The food, particularly the Katsu, is highly praised for being tender and mouthwatering. However, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the service, citing instances of inattentiveness and impatience from the staff. Despite this, many patrons continue to visit Masaru Oppama repeatedly due to the consistently excellent food quality.
I don’t know the waiter’s name but he went above and beyond to serve my family with a smile and a wonderful attitude. He really enhanced our dining experience-the food, already amazing by itself, tasted even better with the good mood and good vibes. My family and I were thoroughly pleased and impressed how great of a service we received despite being gaijin. Thank you very much, Masaru and your nameless top waiter, for turning our family dinner into a memorable dining experience!

Honestly not as impressive as we had hoped. It’s not bad but nothing special either. The meat is decent, but the frying oil wasn’t the freshest and had a bit of smell. Coupled with the fact that this place is super busy and extremely LOUD, just makes us not likely to return again. They do have parking behind the store (the entire area is a parking lot but only about 8 spots are allocated for this particular restaurant so make sure to not park in the non designated spots).

After enjoying soup curry in Hokkaido, the desire to have it again brought me back to Japan. However, I discovered that Tokyo and Osaka do not offer easy access to this delicious dish. Fortunately, my friends living in Japan introduced me to Nanyoutei, a place that exceeded my expectations. The soup curry here was on par with or even better than what I tasted in Hokkaido.
20250111 - visited again. Still the best soup curry I love in Kanagawa! 20231224 - I will recommend this soup curry restaurant to my friends who go to Hayama area. It’s extremely delicious. While the weather is nice, sitting outside on the terrace, eating the delicious food and viewing stunning Mt. Fuji is fantastic dining experience in life.

One of the best flavoured dishes of Japan. Food was extremely delicious. The soup curry imparted a wonderful flavor to all the veggies in it. Buy one of the many flavours of sweet lassi which goes well with the food. Desserts were awesome too! The service was excellent and the sunset view from the terrace was mesmerizing. Would give 10 stars for this place. A definite winner!

Ever since we ate soup curry in Hokkaido we have been dreaming about it. Finally made it back to Japan, but turns out soup curry is not easy to find in Tokyo or Osaka. Our friends who live in Japan brought us to this place. It was as good, if not better than the soup curry we had in Hokkaido. Spice level 1-88. 8 was pretty spicy already so I can't imagine what 88 is. The restaurant is really cute and has balcony seating overlooking the ocean. Very satisfied bellies!

Yum!. Tuesday lunch, dark cloudy day. We got there a little after 12 and waited maybe ten minutes? The three of us got seats at the table facing the ocean. I had the ¥1300 lunch set. Level 4 spiciness had my nose running, but it was full of colorful vegetables and had a deep spicy taste. The soup was clearish. The chicken in my husband’s lunch set was delicious too. 13 spaces for parking, I think.

Saizeriya is a delightful Italian restaurant that offers an authentic dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere. (Translated by Google) [Attractive Italian restaurant that you can easily stop by] Saizeriya is a place where you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a casual setting. The Kosuka Bayside Stores store is located in a seaside shopping mall, so it has an attractive location with a sense of openness! There are seats with a slight view of the ocean from inside the restaurant, so you can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere that is a little different from your average Saize restaurant. Not only locals but also people who stop by for sightseeing will feel that they made the right decision to take a break here! [Location and access] The store is located in the shopping mall "Coast Bayside Stores", about a 5-minute walk from Shioiri Station on the Keikyu Line. The mall also has a parking lot, so those who come by car can feel safe. Parking is free for 30 minutes and 200 yen for every 30 minutes after that, but you can receive discounts when shopping and eating at the mall. It can get a little crowded during lunchtime on holidays, so it's best to go early or late. [Facilities and services] The interior of the store is spacious and has an atmosphere that is comfortable for families, friends, or even solo customers. Although the price is reasonable, the menu has a wide variety of pasta, pizza, and appetizers, and the ``oven-roasted escargot'', which goes great with wine, is a must-try! It can get crowded on weekends, but weekday evenings are relatively empty, so it's a good time to go. [Highlights/Attractions] The biggest appeal of this store is the open feel that can only be found in a seaside shopping mall. If you take a walk around the mall after lunch or walk outside at dusk, you can feel the pleasant breeze. There is also a spot called Verny Park nearby that has beautiful roses, so we recommend stopping by while taking a walk. It's perfect for a short break while sightseeing. At that time, it was the only place in Yokosuka City where you could eat the original raw pudding, but now you can also eat it at Port Market. You can spend a relaxing time in the calm interior with an ocean view. The egg yolk falls from the yellow chicken and is mixed into the almost liquid pudding base. Unfortunately, the rice was probably cooked before business hours due to the time of day, so it turned yellow and didn't taste good. I thought the eggplants didn't look as good as they did in the photo, but they were very sweet, juicy, and delicious. The pasta was a bit salty, but it was delicious and perfect for eating with beer. When I asked the staff about this, they said, ``If you serve food outside, you will be attacked by kites, so only drinks can be served outside.'' I had an iced coffee on the terrace, and it looked like a kite was soaring in the sky looking for prey. (It seems that there was a time when a staff member had food taken from his hand, and the moment it was taken he was so shocked that he thought he had a hole in his hand.) The pasta was delicious, but I really want to try the quiche here, so I plan to come back when the weather gets a little cooler.

(Translated by Google) The dishes made with seafood are really delicious. I also enjoy the fresh pudding before I eat it, so I always try it whenever I come here. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, so you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed manner, and the terrace seating offers a pleasant view of Tokyo Bay. I am very grateful that the staff are so kind and considerate even when I am traveling with children. I gave it a 4 star rating because I thought the menu was a little limited, but everything they serve tastes good and I'm always very satisfied.

Kura Sushi is a delightful conveyor belt sushi restaurant that offers an engaging dining experience, especially for families. Located in Yokosuka, Japan, this spot features a unique ordering system where you can request items via a tablet. Your selections arrive on a separate conveyor belt, ensuring they’re easily identifiable when they reach your table. The atmosphere can get lively during peak hours, but the quick service and variety of menu options make it worth the wait.
Very good sushi! The food comes very fast and there are many dessert choices. The ramen is good for a sushi place but not the greatest. This is the only place that I have found nearby that has a sushi go round AND when you finish five plates it gives you a game where you can win cute little keychains!
Isaac L — Google review
Our kids LOVE this spot because each time you finish a small plate, you get to slide it into a slot at your table and when you get to 5 plates, a small cartoon is displayed on your ordering tablet and you potentially win a prize. 😆 It's a smart business model as you do want to order in groups of 5 so you can keep playing the game. The sushi is good and served quickly. We'll go again.
Kristin M — Google review
A nice sushi go round place. Can get pretty busy went just before dinner time and it was not busy at all. Conveyor belt style sushi restaurant one thing I did like was the items you order on the tablet come to the table on a separate conveyor just above the conveyor with the pre prepared stuff. Kind of cool so you know it’s yours when it comes out. Good sushi here with a lot of cool menu options too and decent price.
Anthony M — Google review
Nice variety of food with consistent good quality. They make the experience a little more fun with the opportunity to win small prizes with the amount of plates you return at your table.

once a week me and my husband always eat here for dinner after job , but tonigh i lost my appetite, while we are eating at table 24 the staff inside was super urusai, how you can enjoy your meal when all you can hear is banging and throwing the plate inside their work place, have some manner to make it more less noise for your costumer that was eating.

first time visiting this place, food and service was great, only problem is the wait in line a table
Miriam R — Google review
We went there for the first time last week. I love it there because the food going around the conveyor is covered unlike other sushi place. When you order it comes very quickly. After eating your sushi there is this slot where you drop your plate and you can play a quick game is you win you will get a small prize 😊 I love there I will definitely go back .

It's a great place and has English menu's, only 4 stars for Food because I have been to other sushi go rounds with better quality, but they also are more expensive. Still this place is pretty great and I have been here the most for sushi that any other place in Yokosuka. Update: it's still awesome and ¥120 yen a plate!! (Some are more, but it's cheap and yummy if you want it to be)

I’ve been to multiple sushi go rounds and this is one of my favorites. The food is great and it’s super easy to order even if you don’t know Japanese. It is missing some dishes other Sushi-Ro have but it’s pretty much the same. I think the only thing that would be a nice change is adding condiment options to the ordering tablet so that customers don’t have to call staff. Examples being; Mayonnaise & Ketchup.

great food, great price, great AC! you order from tablet and your table is assigned a color so when your food comes around, look for your plate on top of your color platform. easy peasy.

Slow to be seated (at least 10 tables open, but still waited 15 minutes), but very excellent food. Not excited about paid parking, though...
R F — Google review
Sushiro is Sushiro. It’s a conveyor sushi restaurant. You have to get a number and when your number they’ll show to you to your seat. Then you order from the screen. I’m pretty sure there are English instructions. This one is pretty big, so it was easy to go a seat.

The best curry in Yokosuka 😃 I ordered the seafood curry it was 🔥 💣😋
Marco C — Google review
I've been to my fair share of CoCo's in bigger cities in the past but this one was just better. It's a smaller shop than I'm used to but that honestly added to the experience. We got the chicken and seafood zanmai "luxury" options. The chicken option was had with a soft-boiled egg topping. I think maybe we were too hungry to let it fully cook from the heat of being on the hot food, but the egg-white was very runny. If you decide to order that topping I'd suggest putting it on the plate of hot food to let it finish cooking before starting to eat. My dining partner wishes he had ordered the hard-boiled egg. I had the seafood-zanmai with crispy garlic topping which was everything I had hoped it would be. We also ordered a garlic cheese naan which was new to me. I haven't been to Japan or CoCo's in a few years so I was intrigued and wanted to try it. I would order it again. It was VERY light and fluffy. Definitely not the same as a traditional Indian naan texture but if I wanted authentic Indian I would have gone to an Indian restaurant. Again it's been a few years since last spending considerable amount of time in Japan, but I went with spice level 5 because I absolutely love spicy food. I probably should have gone with a 4 since it was my first meal of the day, but I'm not going to let that factor in to my review since that was my own fault. If I could give a 4.5, I would. All-in-all, it's a very cozy (small but welcoming) CoCo's and I will definitely be going back again. If you're on the fence, get off the fence; go here. You will have a good meal.
Bread — Google review
One of my favorite foods, will get this at least twice every visit. Japanese curry done right. The spice levels are no joke, be careful.
Jeff V — Google review
Japanese curry at its finest! This is not your typical Indian curry, oh no! It is a delicious savory dish that has so much flavor exploding in your mouth! You can choose your spiciness level to accommodate your taste. They even have sauces to enhance the flavor of the curry, one sauce that tastes like Worchestershire sauce and a honey sauce. Grab a cold Kirin beer to relieve the spice from the dish and enjoy!
Thumper S — Google review
Love the curry here, the spice is good if you request it. Easy ordering with a provided tablet and it's cheap.
Anidynium — Google review
You can never go wrong with Coco's Curry! I prefer this place since it's close to the train station and it's not always busy. The staff were nice and of course, the food was amazing. I got the seafood zanmia which has 2 fried fish and a big shrimp tempura on top of rice and seafood curry! Delicious 10/10!!!
Kenneth D — Google review
Great food and reasonable prices, came here for a quick lunch.

Mexican restaurant
Nestled in the heart of the community, Mike’s Tex-Mex Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving an authentic taste of Mexican and Texas cuisine. This charming eatery offers a vibrant atmosphere where you can indulge in mouthwatering handmade dishes that burst with flavor. The menu features an array of tantalizing options like tacos, burritos, and quesadillas that are truly unique to this spot.
Delicious Mexican food. I always get the same thing— Hungry Hombre with a Beef Soft Taco, Chicken Enchilada, and either Beef or Bean Burrito. My husband usually gets the same thing, but he builds his differently and gets his spicy 🥵. The Golden Margaritas are AWESOME…we get the pitcher. Service is always EXCELLENT! I love Mike’s!
Rebecca P — Google review
We visited Mike’s by chance on our recent trip to Japan. We were walking around the Dobuita street and saw a small board on the main road. So glad we noticed it! It’s a cute little place with a bar that you notice first as soon as you enter. We were a mixed group of Indian and Japanese, and all of us absolutely loved the food. I don’t drink alcohol, but my friends throughly enjoyed their margaritas. Their enchiladas and quesadillas are amazing. The owner/ manager and staff come across as simple sweet people. We would highly recommend Mike’s for a Mexican meal with some fun drinks.

Great and friendly service, fresh veggies and garnish on the tacos (chicken fried tacos is my fav!) if you like spicy food try their spicy Mexican chicken plate! Burst of flavor! They have yummy margs too! Love the homemade feel of their dishes… our go-to when we’re craving Mexican food. Fast convenient and fair price!

(Translated by Google) I went for a drive with my wife to feel the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. There are surprisingly few restaurants on the west coast of Miura where you can enjoy a leisurely tea time while looking at the ocean, so I drove south to the cafe at Sashima Marina Hotel, although it was a bit far. The food was in the back and the cafe was in the front, so I was lucky enough to be shown to the window at the cafe. If you look to your right from here, you can see the magnificent ocean, the marina in front of you, the town of Miura a little to the left, and even the fort on Soleil Hill. I was able to spend a rich tea time with my wife, smiling and not needing to talk. (Translated by Google) April 2022 This is the course included in the hotel plan. The meat and fish were both very delicious, and the appetizers were wrapped in crepes, which was very stylish! I think it was around 6000 yen. Dessert was also included and it was a good deal. The bread was so delicious that I remember asking for a second helping. We also received a welcome drink, and the final Limited time? We had herbal tea as our last tea. This restaurant is as hospitable as the staff at the hotel. It was a wonderful location where you could see the sea from the large windows, and it was romantic just as the sun was setting (even though I was alone). We also had a breakfast buffet, but it was made to order and took all precautions against the coronavirus. (Currently unknown) We had fresh vegetables and delicious rice. Thank you for the meal. (Translated by Google) During seasons and times when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the Enoshima-Hayama route, your car will naturally turn south toward Sashima. When you park your car on the roof of the old Sashima Marina and enter the store behind the front desk, you can see the calm, light blue waters of Odawa Bay through the wide windows that open to the south. A bright, calm, and unpretentious space with a grand piano. Since the view is my goal, I can only use breakfast and lunch, but the taste of the menu in that range is mediocre. Of course, it exceeds the level of a family restaurant. I feel that the price is a little high, but I think that the evaluation will probably change considerably if the entire facility is renovated. The sea view is truly amazing.
