The first floor that you immediately walk into is a souvenir store which mostly sells pre-packaged curry. Go up the stairs to the second floor for the restaurant. Restaurant is nicely decorated and seems to always have naval media playing on the TV. Food itself was somewhat average but very filling as the special curry set includes a pasta salad, Japanese pickles, rice, curry, a glass of milk, and your choice of an additional drink such as coffee or tea. Seems popular with the locals as many office workers appeared to come in during their lunch break.

I am a huge curry fan so this place is like a dream come through. The curry was exceptional, words can't describe how unique that blend of flavour was. There were many signatures of what i assume is from the anime industry with lovely posters everywhere.

At the end of the lunch hour. The curry was great. The naan spent too much time under a heat lamp or in a microwave -- definitely not fresh and very tough. No service while eating the meal to inform anyone of the problem. Gurkha Nepali beer recommended.

I come to Yokosuka cause I like in a life of sailor and Japan navy history. And I feel I want to eat a legend of Japanese Navy's curry. It's a lot of restaurant that have a navy's curry in menus. And this restaurant is not make me disappoint. So delicious, so tasty, not spicy too much, and have a lot menus about IJN warship gimmicks in their menus. Such as Tenryuu's set menu have a curry and Tatsuta-age (Tatsuta is Tenryuu's sister ship and serve a menu Karaage that fried with potato-flour, different from ordinary Karaage.), Kongo's set menu have an English curry with potato fried and black tea (cause IJN Kongo built from England and sent to Japan, so they think she might be born from England and grow up in Japan), or Shimakaze's curry set have a curry with sausage 15 pieces! (Cause in history IJN Shimakaze have a torpedo tube on her deck 15 tube). This restaurant is very interested and connect with game online 'Kantai Collection (Kancolle)'. I'll absolutely come back again.

Overall good curry! Has a bit of a fruity taste compared to normal Japanese curry, which make it taste less heavy compared to normal Japanese curry! Which helps as it also comes with milk, tea and a salad!

Amazing curry but super long wait. The set is bigger than expected. Even though the restaurant decoration and atmosphere is not interesting the food was great. We tried 4 dishes and all of them were delicious. Just be patient because your food will take a while.

The dining area is naval-themed and very Western in design. There is a sheet of paper that you must write your name on to be called when seating is available (put your first name into Google translate and write the characters in Japanese as best you can, or ask someone to do it for you). We waited about 15 minutes to be seated which was not bad for a weekday. The English menu has only the basic beef and chicken set available on it, so if you want to try something other than the most basic meal, please ask for the Japanese menu, say "Nihongo menu, kudasai" and point on the menu to what you want. Otherwise you will be given the one page English menu without all the more interesting dishes. There are many options in the Japanese menu.

Very nice BK with two floors. The staff were nice enough to offer us an English menu to help us navigate the unfamiliar Japanese options. There is a self service kiosk you can use which also helped a lot. We enjoyed eating on the second floor, we just wish the view from the window was less obstructed.

I went there the day it open before I left Japan in June 2009. It was pretty good and service was fast as always in Japan. There a little but of line but it was the first day of course. They also gave out King crowns too as well. I gave it to some random kid. I cant wait to go back again someday.

Young Japanese employee talked so rude when we asked for a special request. I requested to talk with the manager and the situation got worst. Manager is Nepali or Indian and should not be in that position at all ( Burger King needs to retrain this so called manager in customer service). Filipino employees are very respectful and nice to customers. NO ISSUES WITH FOOD!

Always a good consistent American fast food experience. The Whopper is all most spot on to the flavor you get state side, and since their employees actually take pride in their work, I believe I ate Burger King more than I ever have in my life while visiting Yokosuka!

Great Burger King, easily accessible being right on blue street. This is not the greasy fast food of the US. It's amazing to order food and it looks like you pulled it out of the commercial. Great fast food place and will recommend to anyone. Definitely one of the better burger King's out there.

You can spend a large fortune part of the day sifting through the shops on Dobuita Street. It houses a variety of goods from souvenirs to vintage clothing. There’s something for everyone.

The birthplace of Sukajan 💙 While Yokosuka has many places where you could hang out and buy stuff... this street is here is where I find the most creative stuff. There are vintage items on sale as well. You'll never know this is where you buy your next great find. I love the street, the people, the sellers (the old Japanese men and women are very polite and kind to talk to... but there's no haggling prices with them hahahaha). The Sukajan on sale are exquisite. I love the shirts, the bomber jackets, the embroidered stuff. The more exquisite, the more expensive they are priced. But hey, this is the only place where you have so many options and designs of Sakajans so when visiting Yokosuka, buy one. It's enough proof you were there without saying you were there.

I visited Dobuita Street in Yokosuka, Japan after originally discovering the street in the game Shenmue. Although it's changed over the years it offers a unique and somewhat surreal experience with its Americanized atmosphere. I visited during the week around 6pm in March, and although it was fairly quiet, some bars were still open. For a livelier atmosphere, I would recommend going on the weekend. It's got an American vibe with an abundance of English and sometimes poorly translated signs added to the charm. Walking to the soundtrack of "Get Low" blaring from a nearby bar, it was filled with english speaking people. The food and drink options along Dobuita Street leaned heavily toward American cuisine, offering a wide range of familiar dishes and beverages. It was a bit surreal to encounter such an Americanized place in the heart of Japan.

For English speakers, As the name states, great for family. A family restaurant with food kids meal options and great choices of food. They heavily figure on Hambagu but they have good pizza options too. I'll have to try their pizza next time because they have a good pizza oven. We are trying to go to a place across the street for a group of 9 but they had a long wait time around 5pm on Sunday so we decided to come here which they had availability. They didn't have a bring bar option here even though the menu stated they have drink bar. The staff was friendly and most of them know English if you need assistance. Worth checking out for a good lunch or dinner.

The location was clean and well cared for. The service was prompt, attentive & respectful. The food was well prepared, perfectly seasoned and delicious. If you are in the area and in need of a bit this would be an excellent spot to stop into for that purpose.

Neapolitan flavours and a pleasing crispy crust i cant recommended them enough for people who want the mozzarella de buffalo. In italy ive tasted burgers that try to use italian strengths like fresh baked breads and fresh ingredients, this place does that but makes it so the bread "melts in your mouth not in your hands" then also being doing the thing where you take a bite and a bit of the insides slip out a little. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Lovely matcha desserts at the end of the street. After the blistering hot sun, decided that we needed some respire, we came here and got their Tiramisu and Matcha Latte. Service was great and ambience was amazing. Tiramisu - softer than your usual and very tasty, matcha powder provided the aesthetics and the tiramisu inside was well sweetened. Matcha Latte - Usually unimpressive, but this is delicious, matcha is fresh and the latte with the syrup blends well

The order takes very long both to get it and then to bring it. The matcha latte tastes ok but nothing special.

This was a pleasant restaurant we chanced upon during our visit to Kamakura. It had a fairly limited menu and had run out of certain offerings, especially the meat ones. We ordered the udon noodles with sweet tofu and rice flour dumplings and these were good.

We had the rice with whitebait and another with tuna. It was such a treat! As for the dessert, the matcha warabi-mochi was so delicious with great coffee. The staff are ver welcoming and friendly, even when the shop is busy. We will definitely revisit when we have the chance :)

We enjoyed matcha tea, matcha tiramisu, matcha ice cream and others beverage. As long as komachi-dori street, we can buy many japanese traditional souvenir This place is good to be visited

Delicious!! I got the Strawberry Bean Jam Dango and was pleasantly surprised by the flavour. Soft, chewy, tangy and not too sweet.

JAN 2025 Tried four different dango flavors from the store; sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, mugwort rice dumpling topped with smooth bean jam, and honey lemon bean jam. Dango has a soft and nice chewy texture. All the flavors were pretty good; favorite was the sweet soy sauce, a classic sweet and savory combination, and the honey lemon which had a sweet citrus note.

Menu offers 21 different dangos with english/chinese/korean descriptions👍🏻 There is always a queue but the queue is cleared very fast~ very aesthetically presented, especially the sakura/hydrangea/4 color/strawberry ones. Personally would prefer if it is warm then the rice dumpling would be more chewy ☺️ After purchasing, able to go to the alley beside and eat there (provided there is no queue for the store in the alley). After done, able to return back the tray and chopsticks to the store.

Traditional Japanese snacks with many favors. Mitarshi (Dango) is one of my favorites in Japan. The rice cake is so chewy and tender, but the sauce wasn't my style.

I am all for supporting local businesses, so it hurts me to leave a not so good review for this bakery. The service was friendly and the variety of goods was nice, but nothing tasted good. 1. Got the steamed brown sugar bread which was the only item that was decent. 2. Carrot Cake Muffin. Tasted like CURRY POWDER was added to it. Had a very strange aftertaste. The frosting for the carrot cake which is normally a rich sweet texture, tasted only of cream cheese and nothing more. 3. French Toast Apple Pie/Cheese. A soggy mess that fell apart easily. Very strange taste overall and not pleasant. 4. Egg Bread with Ham (I think?). The egg part with the meat was fine but the bread was a soggy mess. Be very careful what you order here. The unique dishes we tried did not taste good. It's too expensive for the quality of the items. I would not go back. The shop gave complimentary coffee though which was nice.

Small shop but a huge selection of different baked goods. It seems the have it all, from sweet to savory and everything in between. Well priced for a snack or even a carb heavy meal.

The donuts with various fillings are an absolute delight! The one with chocolate filling is my favorite but last time it was out of stock so I had the one with strawberry filling, that was really delicious too. Really makes my day when I have one of these in the morning. The filling is not too heavy but substantial, and is throughout the donut, not just at the visible opening. When I have one, it really feels like I ate something, not just a tease. The free drink service is nice too and today there were some chairs in front of the shop so we just sat there and ate our donuts with some ice tea while watching the passersby. My husband had the custard filled donut, that was really yummy too. I wish these donuts would sometimes be sold outside the ticket gates at Keikyu Kurihama station where there is all kinds of pop-up sales regularly.

Apparently a popular spot in Kamakura thanks to their “Daibutsuyaki” - a pancake-like treat with different kinds of filling. I originally stopped because I was keen for some Hokkaido ice cream, which they also serve, and I decided to get both. The vanilla ice cream in a cone (450 yen) and was delicious! So creamy and tasty - I enjoyed it more than Japan’s popular ice cream Creamia. You can also get it in a cup if you like. I got the plain custard Daibutsuyaki (220 yen) and it was also delicious - no wonder it was popular. It was very soft - the cake part was exactly like a pancake and it had a pretty generous amount of filling too. Make sure you eat off to the side and don’t impede people lining up. There was a small garabage bin inside that you could throw your rubbish in as well. I’ll absolutely be stopping by the next time I’m in Kamakura.

I stopped by after visiting the Giant Buddha and had such a lovely experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and let me know the Custard Good Luck Buddha Cakes would take about 10 minutes — I didn’t mind waiting, and they came out fresh and warm. Such a fun and memorable treat at an affordable price. Definitely worth stopping by!

I visited here after my trip to the nearby shrine. It was not so crowded when I visited. Had to try the ffamous Buddha Cake 😊 I got myself a blueberry cream cheese flavor and it was good after a long walk aroind shrines and temples arpund Kamakura.

We ordered the budhha cake custard flavor and it has a generous amount of filling. It was worth the try although there is nothing special aside from the fact that it is buddha shaped. Overall, if it is your first time visiting Kamakura, you can check this place out for the experience

Best curry pan I've had! Stopped by almost at closing but they were still making the buns fresh. The cheese was so stretchy, combined with the bread being slightly sweet and savory curry made it a heavenly treat. It's really hefty though, and probably highly calorific so if you're watching your weight, a piece of this might set you back a week's worth of effort...

Some very good Thai food close to Yokosuka Navy Base! Green curry is my favorite as well as the chicken wings and fried spring rolls. Every visit we've been very pleased with our orders! Really good food and chill atmosphere. Would love an extended menu, but what they make they make well.

Larb chicken salad was very spicy but a bit dry. Lemon grass beef was very good and tender. Tom Kar soup had more coconut flavor than anything. The spring tools were good but instead of the normal peanut or sweet Thai sauce, it tasted like Italian dressing.

Pad Thai was SO SALTY which was almost uneatable. The ready-made sauce must have been used for double the amount for its recipe. It felt like I was eating just sauce. It was really bad for the health of my heart. I had to pour my tea into it to make it less salty but it was still uneatale. I would not recommend this place.

The best Thai restaurant in Yokosuka. The food is always good, the ONLY bad thing is you can have a long wait time for your food, but well worth the wait. I've eaten here numerous times since they reopened serving Thai food and have never had a bad meal.

Right outside Yokosuka Naval base is a very clean bar that I accidentally walked into with my friends. My friends ordered dinner and let me try some of what they received. I expected simple bar food but it was genuinely the best food I've had in Japan thus far. This place deserves to be far busier than it seems to be.

Best matcha ice cream I’ve ever had! My husband and brother-in-law, both matcha enthusiasts, said the same. We had the gelato called “MAX”, and it truly lived up to its name. The flavor was so strong and creamy and rich. If you really love matcha, this one’s for you.

I LOVE a good burger and this place delivered a GREAT burger. I had the Trump Burger and it tasted like freedom just like I thought it would. I got the set with wedges and a drink for extra 450 yen the total came to about 2700 yen which was about £14. Wasn't the best I had, nice experience but wouldn't try again. Would go for the navy burger but it felt too big. Wedges were from frozen but tasted ok.

I had the best birthday/Valentine's dinner ever at this restaurant. The staff - even Don himself! - made everything special and we're grateful to have celebrated here. We had the For Two Fancy set that included cold and hot appetizers, salad, calzone, risotto, Blue crab spaghetti and a dessert. All was fantastic. Dessert was personally presented with birthday song by Don and the staff. Also, I really like that they offer a nice variety of beautiful mocktails (alcohol-free cocktails). Can't recommend this restaurant enough! And cant wait to come back.

(Original) 観音崎京急ホテルのメインダイニングだが、リゾートレストランの雰囲気はなく、田舎の観光地のお粗末でぞんざいなサービスしか提供できない昭和の時代にあった意識の低い大箱ホテルのレストランを彷彿させる。 宿泊者の夕食メニューは和食とフレンチがあるが、フレンチレストランの場所があるのに、その場所は閉鎖して和食客とフレンチ客が混在して食事している。 それは経費削減のため、致し方ないが、フロアのスタッフが大変せわしなく動き回り、落ち着いて食事できない。人数は多いはずなのに、無駄に動き回るスタッフが多くホテルのレストランとしては、最低レベル。 食事もホテルとは思えないレベルのものが多く、和食はほとんど作りおき。 朝食のブュッフェは一般的なホテルでは見たことのない超大型の電子ジャーに入ったご飯だけが出来立てで、それ以外は前日に作ったものを温め直した手抜き料理ばかり。大量の目玉焼きが水の中に浮いていたが、乾燥防止のためか？気持ち悪かった。 味噌汁は味噌とお湯を自動で混ぜるコーヒーマシンみたいなものがあり、絶句した。これがディナーにも使われているはず。ご飯の残りもレンジで温め直してランチやディナーに流用されているはずだ。 そのくせ、飲み物だけは一流ホテル並みの価格設定でたちが悪い。ビールも中瓶はなく、小瓶オンリーでここは高級寿司屋かと突っ込みたくなった。 スタッフはアロハシャツを着た人以外に白いワイシャツを着た小柄の中年男性がいたのだが、この人が異常にフロアを走り回り、一番不愉快なスタッフだった。 表情も笑顔を見せることなく険しい表情で、スタッフに指示を出すマネージャー的存在なのか知らないが、一番雰囲気を台無しにしていた。なぜアロハを着ないのか、白いワイシャツ姿が清潔感がなく 貧乏くさくて、みすぼらしいのでフロアでチョロチョロしないでほしい。 食後に退席するときも飲み物の部屋付けのサインをしようとスタッフを探したら、サインはこちらで代わりにやっておきますとつっけんどんに女性スタッフに言われて怒りを覚えた。最初の注文の時に言うべきで余計な手間をとらされた。 2022年9月末で閉店するようだが、新しいホテルは、こうした3流スタッフは再雇用せず、悪い癖のついていない、フレッシュな人を採用して一からサービスを教育し、きちんとした最低限のサービスができるレストランをオープンしてほしい。

My husband wanted to stop by, and we are glad we did! The food and atmosphere was great and relaxing. The garlic cheese Naan made was so delicious, and the butter chicken was well seasoned. I ordered some samosas and was reminded of my childhood. Amazing experience and will be stopping by again before my stay is up!

I had a really great experience in this restaurant . While there are some places in Japan that won’t serve Americans this place was extremely friendly. The food was full of seasoning. I had cheese naan that was full of cheese and flavor and also honey naan that was excellent and not too sweet. My rice came in the shape of a little heart and that made me smile. My butter chicken was delicious. There was so many delicious items to speak of. I ate there twice in two weeks. I do recommend this spot. They have an amazing liquor collection as well.

Yokosuka being the internationally friendly place it is, this restaurant is no exception. They all speak English, have English menus, and English speaking patrons. That’s not to take away from their actual food tho. Everything was top notch solid, big portions too, which I liked. Great for bigger parties.

Overrated for sure. Calling it amazing butter curry is a stretch. While good, its not extraordinary. Employees are serious and aloof. Prices don't match quantity or quality. Very average experience overall. Meat lacked flavor and so did the rice. Cheese Naan was excessively coated and filled with cheese. Probably the first time in my life where I thought a food item had too much cheese, but this one did. Restaurant itself was clean and nice on the inside but we won't be back.

Well pleased with our visits to Marine and Farm. The fantastic sea side location offers views to relax you and the smell of the sea to build an appetite. It's obvious from the presentation of the restaurant and attitude of those in the kitchen that Marine and Farm is proud of what they can do and how they do it. Great to see and experience. 👍 It is off the beaten path but worth it for that special occasion or much needed escape. Best to book and ask for the seats you want to make the best of this wonderful local. ➕ Delicious and well presented food. The outside deck has a magic sunset view and the atmosphere is nice. In good weather you'll catch a great view of Mt. Fuji. Plenty of parking. ➖ Portions are average and the dishes can come too fast. While a few staff seemed to love their working and their customers, a couple of younger ones seemed to be just doing the hours. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I loved the atmosphere, service, and food. Everything we ordered was prepared in a timely manner and tasted very fresh. I enjoyed vegetables of the day pizza, fried potatoes, tiramisu, and a hot latte. There is also a beautiful view of the crashing waves from indoor and outdoor seats.

A hidden gem. We visited here on a sunday afternoon. Waiting time was around 20mins. We had ume and chocolate cakes with iced coffee, all tasted pretty nice. There’s an AC but it’s like an open space so be aware if you can’t stand the heat :). Other than that, everything is perfect for a quick weekend getaway ;).

Maybe a bit pricey, but was a great place for our anniversary! You would never imagine finding a restaurant like this where it’s located... we had some trouble looking for it by car the first time. We were recommended this place by a few of our friends and fully enjoyed our time there, sitting pretty much in the sand in August! The three-legged dog at the door is adorable too :)

Also great that you can sit outside near the sea or on the newly built terrace. Been a few times and feels like a holiday on the beach there every time. I'll be back!

I would have never found this restaurant if not for a friend who frequents this place. Parking is limited. You'll find that you have to make your way to the restaurant, someone will hand you a card that shows you where to park, you go park and youbring that card back. Lol. At least, that's what I observed. Anyhow, on to the important stuff. They have a quaint menu and based off what eventually came to the table, what I really mean to say is they use what's seasonal, most of the time. While they have other items in their menu, there are four lunch specials all around 1700 yen. It comes with small sides, a cup of soup, your main and a dessert. I had their Wakame, mushroom, & cheese pizza and their Wakame salad. I love Wakame so any chance I can eat it, it's happening. Both were tasty! Never had Wakame on a pizza. That was a first for me and definitely not going to be a last for sure. I forgot to mention that most of the seating is outdoors, on the sand, practically on the beach. Lol. You can smell and taste the salt of the ocean in the air as you conversate with your friends, waiting for your food. Oh and I also learned from here that Jasmine Tea and Ginger Ale are great combined together! Overall, great experience! I would love to come out here and try their dinner.

Definitely worth the trip - the ambiance is laidback and the view is peaceful. Interesting preparations of the food, which results in a unique beachside Western/Japanese fusion. Tried the local mushroom and seaweed pizza and would recommend it. Interestingly enough, the salsa they used for the seasonal seafood carpaccio was spot on. Hard to find decent fresh salsa in Asia!

Amazing food, great laid back beachy vibe. The owner is into art, so there is fun artwork on the walls. Kid and dog friendly. But the food, man. I've been a few times and the food is outstanding each time. I've gotten pizza, different salads, sautéed fish and tuna sashimi. All have been delicious. One kinda downside is the parking; they have a small dirt lot and it fills up quickly (at least on weekends). But we come early and have gotten a spot each time.

Japanese curry hits different. Coco curry with the different toppings make for a great meal anytime of day. I've had it in other countries (US, PHIL) but the rice makes a BIG difference. Pictured is my go to with light crisp chicken at a spice level of 3 out of 10.

Ordering was a bit of a fumble at first — the iPad system threw us for a loop, and the English tab wasn’t super obvious. But we eventually pieced it together, and honestly, that’s part of the adventure of living in Japan. You learn to roll with it. Once we got our food, though? Totally worth it. The curry is next-level — rich, bold, and nothing like the Coco’s back in the States. This stuff is legit. Prices are fair, and there’s a wild variety of toppings to customize your plate. They’ve even got a kids menu, which made things easier for our crew.

We love coming here! Coco Ichibanya is one of our favorite curry restaurants. The food is greatly priced and the portions are good! The restaurant is a little on the smaller sizd and it does get a little busy here during meal time hours because the naval base is nearby, but I've never had to wait too long.

Like a lot of non-locals, I have a deep love for this chain. From Hokkaido to Honolulu, you always know what you're going to get at this restaurant. It is consistent, cheap, and yummy. As such, I typically would not leave a review because I look at this place very similarly to the way I look at McDonald's. However, this particular outlet is special. I don't know how they are training the staff in this restaurant, but the service you receive is absurd. On our last visit, three of the staff met us at the door to say goodbye in unison. That is weird and lovely and left a mark. Thank you Co Co!

Hands down an awesome place. So many options of delicious curry and toppings. I always get the soft boiled egg (hanjuku tamago) to take it to another level.

The food is delicious 😋🤤. They have allergen free curry options, though I didn't try it. They do run out of some dishes if you get there too late at night. Staff is friendly and courteous. I haven't seen it full yet, so typically no waiting to sit and order. I eat here whenever I visit.

Though we have CoCo ichi back in the states, having it in Japan seems to elevate the experience and taste. A diverse menu, fresh ingredients, seasonal options, and quick friendly service keeps the people coming back. This restaurant in the market offers amazing seafood dishes in huge portions – and the taste is fantastic too! First, buy a meal ticket for your chosen dish, then hand it over at the counter in the back and take a seat. Your food will be ready in no time.

One of the staff members there is an older woman with glasses who is very stingy and has a bad attitude. Subway boasts that it is a shop that caters to people who like to eat healthy and modifies your sandwich to fit what you want to eat, but that lady will usually tell you you're not allowed to modify your sandwich. If you try to ask for extra vegetables she might put one extra piece on and think that's enough. If you ask for more, be ready to receive the stink eye from her and some sort of comment in a cranky voice. This place is bad news. Not going again

A small tempura restaurant where everything is made fresh and delicious. Very limited seating and you usually have to wait outside to get in and sit down. The ladies who work here are wonderful. They are only open for lunch.

Great Tendon and HUGE! Great ingredients, but the sauce is more on the bitter shoyu side (if you like that style as opposed to sweet shoyu).

Small counter type restaurant that serves Ten-don (Shrimp Tempura) served over a bowl of rice. I had the opportunity to sample their Anago-don (Sea Eel) with a generous serving of vegetables, mushroom and pumpkin tempura to match. Tastes was good, oil was relatively fresh. Restaurant gets busy, so do expect to wait and the ventilation in the restaurant can be better, you will end up smelling like fried oil when you walk out. No English is spoken here nor is there an English menu.

Number 3 on the left (850 yen) iwamatsu don, and number 6 on the right(1200 yen) big shrimp don. Can get a little heavy towards the end but well worth the money.

We were there waiting in line for half an hour, waited 15 minutes and they still did not take our order. 4 people came in after us and they all got their orders in. Workers would not even look at us. Hard to miss us. Only enough for ten people. Don't go there if you are not Japanese.

The most amazing tempura in Japan

Great steak for the cost and don't skip the steak sauce. This is a small steak shop that seats about maybe 20 people and a popular lunch spot. The seats are pretty tight and you sit at a counter top, but worth the tight squeeze. Most of the steak or meat you get will be on a hot skillet and they give you paper apron to protect your cloths a little bit. The steaks were good and thick. Since it come on a hot skillet if you want well done you will have to wait for it to cook. While it is cooking recommend putting their steak sauce on it. It's tangy and not too sweet or salty. The lunch set comes with rice, salad, and soup. For the price I paid, I was full and it is well worth it. I got a combo which came with 150g hambagu and 100g steak and it was about ¥1300. Will come again and worth checking out if you want some steak.

The Best Wagyu 😃 🥩. Card payments accepted & English spoken. Very clean steak shop and very diligent staff. Definitely recommend this place if you're in Yokosuka and love steak.

Be careful what your order, especially the special. This was the worst steak I've had in Japan. I'm truly sorry, but it's the truth. It was a horrible cut of meat.

Decent steak and amazing service. The place is sort of small and has only high chairs. Tall ppl will have an issue with seating. There is a place you can stand and eat if you prefer that instead.

The place is small and only has high chairs making the seating not ideal for families with children. There is a take-out option which is convenient during this time of the coronavirus pandemic. The steak I ordered was a 20 day aged Japanese Sirloin steak 300g and my wife ordered the 300g Ribeye center cut. Both steaks were cooked medium rare and had about 100g worth of fat. It was served sizzling hot on a hot cast iron plate like most teppanyaki style restaurants, but the condiment/sauce options were more diverse. We ordered a hamburg steak for my son, the plate was a little too hot as it cooked the hamburg steak very causing it to be dry and hardened on the outside. My real issue, however, was the high chairs. It was too high for not only my son but also for my wife and me. I don't know if it's just me being an American and acting like spoiled baka-gaijin but I'm used to eating steaks sitting down comfortably without the struggle of sitting upright the whole time. Just a small adjustment, significantly altered my dining experience. The meat itself was not bad, but next time I'd rather eat at a pepper lunch for the extra bang for my buck.

My wife and I wanted to try out something other than Pepper Lunch so we came here. We both ordered the 200 gram steak. The steak was good, but had a few fatty chunks that was very very chewy and I had to spit out. The service was ok, once they serve you they kinda forget about you, you really just need to flag the, down and ask for whatever you want... like more water. Even though the food was good, we’re probably sticking to Pepper Lunch since it is cheaper.

Best sushi experience around bar none! Had to come back and add an update. This place is too amazing to not come back to over and over again. The food is immaculately tasteful and filling. I really enjoy the fact that coke floats are available here and that always make the trip worth it for me. I drive all the way from Yokohama just to eat here and I never regret it.

This our first made-to-order conveyor belt sushi experience. We were here before 4pm for an early dinner as we had a flight to catch. It was easy get to through the Keikyu-Daishi line. 📍The food was fresh and the sushi was melt-in-your-mouth goodness! 📍The price was reasonable so we tried 23 different kinds of mini-plates, 2 drinks and 2 desserts(yummy!) I highly recommend this place, and would come back here if I had another Tokyo-Haneda layover. Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu! 🙇‍♀️

Fantastic sushi at an amazing price. Every time I stop in Yokosuka I make sure to go visit. Usually pretty busy around 5-8pm, would recommend going during lunch to avoid the larger crowds.

Such an easy place to navigate even when you don’t speak the language. We entered in, input our information into the kiosk and we’re given a ticket with our table number, which was clearly marked. The iPad was a little glitchy at first but pulled itself together after a few minutes. We have been twice now and love the small portions. The options are endless and there is so much to choose from. You pay by the plates so if someone takes your food by accident before it comes to you, no worries. 2 of us are and had deserts for $15. You really can’t beat that and being able to try new foods was ideal. Totally recommend

Fun place to go. Good food. Easy and quick delivery of food by the conveyor. It used to be more fun when you could see all as they went by on a conveyor belt.

Pepper Lunch is delicious and affordable! Highly recommend coming here whether you’re alone or with company. It is open for lunch and dinner. I really miss this restaurant since leaving Japan and always think about Pepper Lunch! Great steaks and customer service! The plate the food comes on is hot and it cooks the steak to your liking.

Good place to chill and enjoy your meal. The staff was really quick with the food and refilling water. Got the medium size pepper steak with regular meet. Was a good portion and didn't fill like I over ate. Ordered with side broccoli and egg. Added both the original and sweet sauce. Recommend adding one or both for more flavor. We also added a ground garlic which made it taste better in my opinion, but I like garlic tasting food. Should at least try it once.

Great place to get your fill in on skillet ready food. They serve their food on hot skillets and it tastes amazing. Good quality meat and it's grilled right on the hot skillet. I got the "Oniku tappuri" Extra meat Beef Pepper Rice. The rice on the skillet was great and comes with a garlic butter in the middle of the rice to mix it all together. The paper around the skillet was a nice touch to protect yourself for. The oil splash when it is initially served. Plenty of options to add more toppings and different cuts of meat as well. There are limited amount of seats in there about 20 all counter top facing middle. Worth checking if you want some skillet food and good amount of meat. Can't wait to eat here again.

We had a fantastic experience! This is the kind of place we’d bring visiting family too for a quick, affordable, delicious lunch. We had skipped breakfast so this was the perfect amount of food if you are extra hungry! Friendly and fast service!

Wow! What a meal! I got a simple one curry set with chicken and naan. And as you can see from the pictures, the naan was HUGE. I also got the chicken fried momo, delicious. The salad was yummy too. I liked how they cut the carrot. To drink I got a cola, mug of Ume sour, and a medium green apple sour. The Ume is new to me but WHOA! Delightful and quite refreshing! The green apple sour was good as well! My server seemed to be the only one taking care of the floor, but he was super nice, and thankfully, understood and spoke English. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The short: Chai masala was really good, but the mark up price for butter chicken is frustrating. Longer: I was highly impressed with the chai masala. Had both spice and rich creamy milk used. The lunch curries are limited which seems to be the norm in Yokosuka, but this location charges extra for the butter chicken. The flavor of the butter chicken was not the best either, but it was good. The soup served at the beginning was delicious. The Nan was hot and fresh and unlimited. I'm still disappointed that the turmeric rice seemed like local Japanese rice and not basmati, but I've noticed that at other locations as well. The chicken Tikka was a good flavor. The staff was so nice and happy, this alone will bring me back, but next time I'll get the Paneer, but will pay more because it's not included in the lunch set. I'm still on the quest to find a favorite spot in Japan.

Underground and cozy ambiance. Creamy chicken curry. (590 yen) However, their spicy level medium tasted like zero spiciness to me... unless they got the order wrong or forgot to spice it up ^^; (No, should have checked the other reviews first..) Lots of tender chicken pieces. Mango lassi was good!

This place is good/average. I think the ratings it’s received is rather inflated. Atmosphere is great/cozy. Everyone that has given this place 4* or more haven’t been anywhere else or must’ve been super hungry which may have clouded their judgement. Service was good too. Got two curry setto chicken/pumpkin curry and chicken curry. Saag paneer wasn’t an option for sets. Spicy level hot. Same offering as Gorkha.

Aside from curry that i had last time, the other night i had food items like momo, fried rice and chicken chilli which were trash. The curries are good average. Just don’t try the items above. Price shown in the menus in the large number aren’t the actual. The actual price are in small font size. Place is small as well.

This is by far one of my favorite spots to eat in Japan. The food is simply amazing and service is top notch. I have been traveling here a couple times a year for the last 7 years or so and always make a stop in this place.

Open kitchen plan and you can watch as they make your sushi 🍣 The sushi was very good, larger portions than a Sushiro restaurant but kind of the same setup. The sushi does go around a conveyor belt. The menu is in Japanese but you can write your order down just as easily. Overall, the service was fast and friendly. Free parking available in the attached lot.

My favorite curry udon place! I've been a regular the past 4 yrs. Prime example of a hole in the wall restaurant: relatively cheap, delicious food, limited seating, and popular among locals. Good portions too. They sometimes have seasonal foods, like cold sudachi udon in the summer. Must get the fried chicken curry udon on the first visit! The deep-fried mochi is also amazing! They accept card.

This is definitely the best Udon Tempura resto here in Yokosuka! Came in, though it was just an ordinary place... nothing fancy outside... but when the food was served, the presentation was 5/5. The taste, home-cooked fresh taste! The price, average pricing... really a good deal!

Wow!! Fantastic Curry Udon Ramen!! I had the fried Chicken 🍗 version and I would highly recommend it!! Not so spicy 🌶 but they have the curry powder so you can add as much as you need to make it even more spicy! Limited seating so get there when they open at 11 or they have standing areas where you can stand up and eat it. Either way, well worth the trip! 🍜 Also I recommend the tempura fries which are actually potato wedges… Fantastic idea and tasted so good! 🍟 I skipped the butter 🧈 though, And dip them right in my curry soup! I will go back! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Talk about a traditional and unique! Despite ramen 🍜 shops being all around japan 🇯🇵 this place will definitely stand out during your visit. The food flavors are just what you expect and the quality of how is prepared closes the deal. But then, there is also the place: the atmosphere of an authentic ramen place ! You can see the chef preparing the food as you seat or stand around the old wooden bar which holds no more than 10 customers at a time. LEGIT!!! please make sure to be hungry 🤤 the portions are on the food size. English menu available on a tablet. You just pick and they take care of the rest. Not for strollers // kids that can reach a bar or seat on a small area could be fine. If your kids don’t need feeding, then it could work.

Tight seating with about 10 seats around the bar. Tried the chicken udon but the mochi and fried chicken udon look amazing and I'll try them next time. Some of the best tempura in Yokosuka. Good to get an udon dish and a few tempura sides to dip in the curry.

Amazing food! Spring rolls My friend and I loved our lunch sets. We ordered the green chicken curry and pan fried spicy chicken and pork set. The green curry was amazing and packed with flavor. The chicken and pork set was not spicy and had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. Only improvement I would say —The mango smoothie needed work. It didn’t taste like they put actual real fruit but more of some syrup. Overall, it was a great experience. I definitely would recommend their lunch sets.

If you want good Thai food, this is the place to go. It's tucked away on the 3rd floor of the building which youll have to take an old elevator up. The atmosphere is very authentic and feels like Thailand. The noodles were great and the basil pork was really good. Their spice is typical Thai spice level so be careful how you order. For English speakers, the waiter knew English very well and they have English on the menu so no issue. It is cash only so make sure you have yen. They were known for other good food like their Tum yum Ramen, which I'll need to try out next time. Worth checking out if you are craving Thai food.

Meh. The stars and stripes did a write up on this place and they WAY oversold it. Giving it michelin-like reviews. Clearly written by someone who’s never who has never been… It’s okay. Nothing to write home (or google) about. I had the spicy papaya salad medium heat. And the drunken spicy noodles with shrimp. The salsa was swimming in sauce and the noodle had almost none. The shrimp dish contained not one, not two, but three whole shrimp. It’s okay but don’t go outta your way for it.

Beautiful family owned business with authentic Thai Food! Everything I've tried so far has been nothing shy of amazing. Having a hard time figuring out if the coconut butter chicken is my favorite or the green curry with chicken but the papaya salad is a must. Let me know what you think.

It’s great Thai restaurant!! I love here! The plates are superb delicious!! You can eat Tom Yum Kum, Thai green curry, various veggies appetizers, fried rices and so on!!! All delicious!! You can select the hot level! I don’t like super hot taste, so I always order with mild taste. They have a course menu so I would like to try it sometime!! I highly recommend you visit in group!! Each plates have a portion for 2 or 3 persons so if you come with friends you can enjoy various plates!! That’s nice!! They don’t accept credit card!! So don’t forget to take cashes!!! Place is awesome. Has parking very close. Price is very reasonable and the food is great. You can also choose spice level and the thai spice is spot on. This place was highly recommended by a friend and it was amazing. I felt like i was in Thailand while eating the food as it tasted the same from my travels to Thailand. I would highly recommend eating here if I’m in the area near Yokosuka.

Two floors above the Kami Buta ramen. Satisfying 900 yen lunches! I’ve never been to Thailand but I felt the red curry tasted very authentic. There was a lot of Thai basil in it, maybe? the leaves that taste like black licorice. You can get “spicier” for +100 yen, but since they bring you free chili pepper powder, that might do. It’s nice that the waitress asks if you want a normal serving of rice or less, with regard for food loss. (For the curry I would say definitely get the normal portion, at least! It’s very flavorful.) Nice little tiny piece of fried banana for dessert!

Visited December 31, 2024 Small and cozy with around 10 seats. Walls full of anime paraphernalia. We ordered a regular burger and a tuna omurice and the volume was so big that it couldn’t be contained on the dish and could easily feed 3-4 people that we had to do takeaway for leftovers. Taste was average, felt a little cheap and fatty and we didn’t get things on the house like other reviewers. Probably once was enough but not a bad experience.

Variety restaurant (burgers, curries, pasta, deserts, and drinks). Portion sizes are generous, taste is average, and the service is amazing. Friend got the medium fries, and we had to remove a plate full of fries to even see the giant 20cm (8in diameter burger). The Burger buns are light and fluffy, generous with the vegetables (big soft-ball sized tomatoes), while the protein ratio (burger, bacon, fish, egg, etc.) is average to low (depending on your extras). The atmosphere is full of JMSDF and Anime memorabilia, and was a good conversation starter. We got free shave ice and cookies as extra service with our burger orders. And the owners had giant smiles enjoying our reactions to the sheer size of the servings. I'll come back to try the other foods as well.

A cute little diner next to the base entrance. The owner is friendly and speaks some English. The walls are lined with Hawaiian memorabilia, Japanese Navy artwork, and lots and lots of references to the High School Fleet anime. The Yokosuka Navy Curry was rich and decently sized. It came with a fresh salad and milk. I was gifted homemade biscuits with a sweet strawberry cream spread and chocolate mochi spread afterwards, which was a nice touch. Would come again.

It's been a couple of years since we visited but we still have the wonderful memory of our meal. The burgers are giant! And delicious. All of the food was tasty and the owners were so kind and attentive and even surprised our young daughter with a treat at the end of her meal.

Nice burger spot with good burgers. The fries were really good and the portion size was very big. A cool spot to go and grab some food. Pay parking within walking distance, on the weekends this place will get very busy so if you don’t want to wait in a long line maybe go on a weekday or during off meal hours.

Delicious! I had the tuna steak omurice, and coming from someone who loves omurice, it was amazing! Portions are humongous so be aware to arrive hungry. Good selection of drinks and interesting decor. Service very fast, uses the button summons system. Per person probably 2000 yen on average.

Sushi is simple, but decent price and fast to get to you after ordering. Try the ramen once and it was okay. Have been here 5 times already only being here for 2 weeks. 😅 Just be aware of what time you go because during the busy hours 1115-1300, you can wait up to 30 mins or close to an hour. It's the locals favorite as well, so must try at least once. Our favorite cheap sushi spot. LOVE their tempura items. Don't forget to order the tempura sauce if you get tempura items, which was free when we went. Best part for me and the family is the free make your own matcha hot tea. We normally spend $25 - $35 US dollar when we go, which would be about $100 in the States.

It's been awhile since I ate here. The sushi-go-round ordering, delivery system and payment are revamped and contactless. English speaking friendly (menu tablets) and easy to get a hang of. If you want high end sushi you are not in the right place. This is your daily sushi at a fairly reasonable price point.

Convenient and easy spot for solo dining! I came on a Friday around 5 PM and there was no wait at all. The check-in process at the kiosk was a little confusing at first, but you can switch the language to English and select how many people are in your party. It prints out your seat assignment. I chose the counter seating, which was the option other than booth, and it felt just right for dining alone. The sushi quality was decent. Nothing amazing, but definitely enough to satisfy a sushi craving. I had 10 plates, with either one or two pieces of nigiri per plate depending on the quality, plus a beer. The total came out to around $18.52 USD, which felt fair for what I got. Great option for a casual, quick, and affordable sushi fix!

I highly recommend downloading the LINE app and signing up before going to the store. Through the sushiro coaska page in Google maps if you press "Find a table" this will take you to LINE and show you how many groups are currently waiting and the estimated time (line usually goes by faster than estimated.) Through that page you can make a reservation for future dates or join the current queue. When you get to the store you have to check in on the kiosk with the number given to you on LINE (the hand holding a cell phone icon) if you do not check in your number will be skipped. If your number is skipped before you check in, you can still check in and you will be put in the queue as "on hold" and will be called somewhere in between the queue

I actually was quite disappointed. I have these back home in Maryland and and in Hawaii so I don't really feel like the concept was a while factor. I feel like the food wasn't very flavorful but it did taste fresh. The service wasn't the best. We didn't really have anyone checking on us or ask if we needed anything. The menu was interesting to navigate but you have plenty of options. I think it's a great spot you want to come with people who have diverse taste buds because everyone can kind of order what they want. My favorite sushi was the avocado shrimp and the pork belly

This place was super fun! It's good for non-Japanese speakers because everything is automated. There's a tablet at your table where you make your order, and you can select English as the language. Your orders are delivered to you on a conveyor belt next to your table. Food was very tasty, and seemed to be of high quality. My table tried many different items, and we're not disappointed with any of them. Highly recommend if you're looking for sushi. Also it is very budget friendly. Four of us ate for less than $60.

Visited here twice!!! Outstanding Japanese curry's here for half century! I normally change place to eat while travelling but this is irresistible to eat again! Absolutely recommend "dry curry or seafood dry curry" with high level spices at which not spicy much but super tasty and full of flavors. Salad is good salty to make u saliva run more! And importantly is pickles(Tsukemono) can clean taste to be ready for next spoon! I would say this is the best Japanese dry currry in my life, and please eat with Japanese pickle cuz it fulfill the taste perfectly, this is culture and how to eat food deliciously with sour taste. And ultimately this food would not only fill in ur stomach but also take u to a cozy home cooking as grandmoms in this restaurant will treats u kindly and make food be intuitively understood how much they take care customer as if own family.

A hidden gem in Yokosuka and my favorite Japanese curry place in Japan, period. Very neat atmosphere with bar seating. Highly recommend the "dry curry". They have an English menu, if you need it just ask.

Great food! The staff didn't speak English but they were very friendly when I showed them the picture of the food I'd taken of the menu outside. Prices are very cheap. I was attracted to the place because I saw it had a huge line outside for lunch in the early afternoon (I went for an early dinner around 6:30 when there wasn't a wait). Quiet bar with only maybe fifteen seats. I got the pork curry with an egg. The mild wasn't spicy in any way (perfect for me) so definitely get hot if you want some spice.

Wednesday 1 pm, wandering around Chuo trying to choose a place for lunch… I see a surprisingly awful review here among other notsobad ones, and it makes me feel that I just have to go see for myself. lol. Only one or two others in the shop, which was much smaller than I had always imagined. Feels like being at home with mom and aunt who are busily washing the dishes and putting them away in front of you sitting at the counter seat. I chose the pork and beans curry, non-spicy (wished they had a mild, but probably not with this one), no toppings. Small salad came first. The curry was very good, with tender pork pieces, not too oily or anything. Tasted just right, portion was just right for me as well. The beans were probably soybeans- I would have liked other type beans better, but that’s just a preference… 750 yen. Doesn’t come with a drink, but it’s still a fairly good deal. Pay at your seat. It’s probably a must-visit for Yokosukans interested in curry, as the place has been around for so many decades, and I’m glad I got a taste of it in one of my last few months here.

You can't go wrong ordering the food here. The English menu that has most of the toppings. My favorite is German sausage and egg, which goes really well with any of the curries. Meal portion sizes are good if you want a decent sized meal and not feel stuffed. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is friendly and helpful.

Honestly not as impressive as we had hoped. It’s not bad but nothing special either. The meat is decent, but the frying oil wasn’t the freshest and had a bit of smell. Coupled with the fact that this place is super busy and extremely LOUD, just makes us not likely to return again. They do have parking behind the store (the entire area is a parking lot but only about 8 spots are allocated for this particular restaurant so make sure to not park in the non designated spots).

It is one of the greatest Japanese pork cutlet I have ever eaten. The pork was juicy and very tender. Rice, cabbage, and miso soup were good and delicious. Reasonable price compared to the quality of food and service.

Ever since we ate soup curry in Hokkaido we have been dreaming about it. Finally made it back to Japan, but turns out soup curry is not easy to find in Tokyo or Osaka. Our friends who live in Japan brought us to this place. It was as good, if not better than the soup curry we had in Hokkaido. Spice level 1-88. 8 was pretty spicy already so I can't imagine what 88 is. The restaurant is really cute and has balcony seating overlooking the ocean. Very satisfied bellies!

Yum!. Tuesday lunch, dark cloudy day. We got there a little after 12 and waited maybe ten minutes? The three of us got seats at the table facing the ocean. I had the ¥1300 lunch set. Level 4 spiciness had my nose running, but it was full of colorful vegetables and had a deep spicy taste. The soup was clearish. The chicken in my husband’s lunch set was delicious too. 13 spaces for parking, I think.
