Local noodles with either spare ribs or pork foot/ankle.
The soup is excellent--flavourful, balance, surprisingly non greasy.
‼️ They may close earlier than scheduled if they finish all they have prepared for the day.

This has to be one of the most popular places, to eat Okinawa Soba, in the Itoman City area. My recommendation, would be, get there near opening time because, it gets so busy, you have to sign in and, wait to be seated and served. The food is mouthwateringly delicious. Inside or outside seating is available. Staff are friendly and efficient. No smoking indoors but, there is a smoking area out front of the premises.
Staff was nice, helpful and polite. The food didn’t have too much flavor. We ordered the spare rib and pork soba, rice. Ordered Pickled Ginger but never received it. Overall good, but don’t know that I would go back.
Didn't taste like Okinawan soba. I think the soup is just dashi like in naichi (mainland Japan), no other broth. Also the Shoga is a separate order! Never seen that before. Gives a penny pinching impression. Sketchy, or should I say ケチ?
The tebichi was disappointing, as if simply boiled in sugar water, the jushi was soggy, almost flavorless and had no pork, the soki had no flavor as if mass boiled in a pressure cooker.
Stewed pork and tofu are must try! Very good!

Churasan Tei is a popular izakaya near Naha airport, known for its Okinawan blue decor and focus on local ingredients, especially seafood. The menu features dishes like Squid Ink Somen Chanpuru made with fresh squid and flavorful squid ink sauce. While the prices are decent, there's an additional 300 yen cover charge per person. Despite this, the food is well-received, with highlights such as garlic buttered shellfish and tempura fish.
They got pretty much every okinawa specialty. Good place to try the Rafute, Goya Champuru or other fish dishes.

I’m so sorry but this was an unpleasant visit. Sashimi was below average. Freshness is gone. General option of fried food was also bad. 🙏🍻 only the bottled Orion was great!
In A Nutshell:
-Churasan Tei was a pretty good izakaya restaurant.
-I definitely chilled & stayed for a bit enjoying their fresh sashimi, Orion beer & awamori.
-I was hoping to try out their coconut crab but they were out.
-I highly recommend the Green Caviar Bowl highlighted with sea grapes & Okinawan uni.
-The Okinawan tuna was also very fresh & tasty.
-I wasnt too fond of the Giant Clam, but the sliced Squid Tentacles were yummy.
Overall, I enjoyed the quality of the food here.
Apparently it's a popular restaurant among locals and tourists. If you want local Okinawa cuisines and ingredients, this is the place to be. I think I ordered most dishes with the names that I've never heard and with the ingredients that I've never tried. It was a fun experience!
One of the dishes I tried is coconut crab miso soup. It was rare even in Okinawa and they don't usually sell it outside of the island. The taste was nothing special but definitely impactful for the photos😆
I wouldn't recommend to go alone because the portion is relatively generous and not too cheap. It's better to go with more people in order to sample different unique dishes.
Very delicious and fresh seafood. Unfortunately this restaurant allows their customers to smoke. It was very bad this time. Sandwiched between 2 smoking tables. Unpleasant second hand cigarettes smell.

Some of the best seafood I have ever had. Super fresh and delicious. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Slightly annoying that tax is added after and not included on the listed price. Definetly recommend if your keen on trying local Okinawan seafood.
This is a tasty seafood restaurant not far from Naha airport. Maybe 15min if you take the monorail then walk. The food was good and decently priced. Though it was a bit more than we were thinking of spending, we left happy. Heads up, there is a 300 yen cover charge per person, just for the table, and the food is on top of that.
We had garlic buttered shellfish that was grilled. The presentation, smell, and taste were great! We also had tempura fish, which was fresh, hot, and delicious. That was my favorite! Lastly, we had the crab miso soup. The presentation was great, but the flavor of the crab meat had been boiled out into the soup, so if you are looking for really good crab, go ahead and get a whole one. (They are a bit pricey though!) There is free dessert if you ask your server. That evening, dessert was some fresh pineapple, and it was very good.
They have English menu and pictures. I had the green cavier, Natural mozuku vinegar (table charge), natural mozuku tempura (free item), trocas shell stir fried and the ryukyu awamori (okinawan alcohol)

Fantastic restaurant, didn't make a booking, had to wait 15 minutes to get in. Very small parking lot but you can park on the side streets as it's an industrial area.
Their main dish is grilled butter fish, you choose the type of fish from a chalkboard, fish choices are limited so going earlier will have more choices.
We ordered a few different fish and cooked in different styles, they were all delicious. Ordered in a set so it came with some sashimi/salad and dessert.
Would love to come back and try more different fish dishes!

Don't have English menu, difficult to order especially I know nothing about fish. U just order the fish set come with sashimi, side and dessert. Go for creme brulee and this damn good. we order one with green bitter butter and one with yellow butter, i will say green bitter butter is more special. they dont have the japanese pizza anymore. and there is new branch open forgot to take photo where the location.

Hidden gem alert! 🐟🔥
This place blew me away! First off, the presentation is awesome - they serve all the fish on sizzling iron plates. Talk about a feast for the eyes! But the real star is the fish itself: incredibly fresh, melts-in-your-mouth delicious. And the sauces are unique and flavorful, they took the whole experience to another level.
Fair warning: the menu is only in Japanese. But don't let that scare you away! The staff is super friendly and more than happy to help you navigate the options.
I have been coming here at lunch time ages and always get a butter fried fish with the green sauce and the ice-cream. 95 out of 100! Strong contender for my favorite restaurant in all okinawa.

I feel like its a pity that such fresh fish is covered by the taste of butter. It still taste rlly good but i just question if this is the best use of fresh fish 🤷♀️. Same with their fish soup, i feel like the sesame is too strong. Their sashimi, however, is really good and really fresh! High rec!

Cafe Makabechina is a traditional Okinawan restaurant located in the countryside, offering a cozy and historic atmosphere. The self-service area provides complimentary water and plain tea, while additional special teas and drinks are available for purchase.
Whenever I say I like Okinawa soba almost every Japanese tilt their heads with doubt.” Really??!!” Even though Okinawa food is known the worst one in whole Japan, I find it is quite nice, especially pork is unbelievably tender and the soup is very nice too. Nothing fancy but decent flavor with fresh ingredients. I feel it is so healthy to my body.
And this place is so humble but its soba is so full of homemade flavor like the one that I get when I visit my grandma’s home.

Came across this cafe on one of our drives down the island before visiting Okinawa World and it did not disappoint. Beautiful traditional seating, kind and efficient service and delicious Okinawan food. Also loved reading about the history of the building. Would definitely recommend!
A very cute place with lots of history! The service was great and the food was delicious. We had a very yummy and filling meal. We tried some soba and okinawaian rice, my friend also enjoyed their chai drink.
Traditional Okinawan restaurant tucked away in the countryside. We arrived at 2:30pm and it was definitely off peak (we didn’t queue at all even without reservation). The menu was in Japanese but pictures helped us a lot and the waitress was also really patient with our lack of Japanese skills.
The set meals are really good, Okinawan soba with various sides and rice. You can get water and plain tea for free from the self-service area, but they have some more special teas and drink options à la carte.
Really clean toilets and the courtesy shoes provided are actually geta, traditional Japanese sandals.
It is also possible to purchase local tea (including the ones served à la carte), jewellery and pottery from inside the restaurant.
The restaurant also has a lovely garden and outdoor dining area open in season.

Great atmosphere..VERY cozy..historic building within the history of the 19th century ryukus, and most of all the best soba I've had so far on island! What more could you ask!!! This place is a must eat for any travelers. We visited after spending a morning learning about the history of the battle of Okinawa at the peace memorial just south, then to sit down and find out this very building was still standing after all the unfortunate destruction during the fighting. So cool!

The dining experience at Okinawa Buffet Karakara Ashibina Branch was enjoyable and met expectations. The food quality was good, reasonably priced, and well-prepared. The juice selection was excellent. The restaurant staff were friendly and always wore a smile. While knowing Japanese is helpful in Japan, the employees were patient with non-Japanese speakers. The atmosphere was charming, especially the welcoming lighting at the entrance.
The food was good, and as I expected. It is certainly reasonably priced, and my meal was cooked well, and the juice I ordered was great. My friends really enjoyed their meals, and we had fun. The employees were kind and always smiled. Of course, it always helps to know Japanese while in Japan, but the people were patient with me as I tried to figure out what to say. The aesthetic is lovely, and I like the lighting at the entrance. Seemed very welcoming for families as well, with children's books available, and a kids menu. I may return sometime later. Maybe take some people who have never been.

We came a bit too late after lunch as most of the dishes are empty, tried the pork trotters was pretty tender without any gamey taste. Dessert wise they don't have a great selection of ice cream. I do feel that this restaurant will be busy during lunch hour.

Not bad for a sing $20 buffet. Widespread and quite a lot of local delights. Self service n no time limit.
The price was reasonably good, around 1868 yen per person after tax for lunch. They had a satisfying number of options and many drinks options including beer, sake, coffee , juices and tea etc. it will be good for vegetarians because many dishes have vegetables and eggs yet for vegans there are limited options. If they are branded as vegetable garden then it should now slowly moved to more vegan options to get a wider audience. The food quality was good for their price. The ice cream really sucks. But for kids, whatever. Good place to bring kids. Lunch can last till 5pm.
The buffet spread & cooking style/taste didn't impressed me, I guess for 1680, it's what the restaurant can offer. Missing the Okinawa braised pork but there's pork knuckle which not everyone likes it.
I ate there twice during my trip to Okinawa, once for dinner on Thursday and the other time for lunch on Sunday. It was good value for the price they charged and food quality was decent. The restaurant website said the vegetables and fruits are locally sourced. It was busy at lunch on Sunday and the restaurant was not replenishing the food fast enough.
So many different choices of local food. The king of buffets in Okinawa! Noodles, soups, vegetables, cakes, ice cream, and drinks are all included in the price (except the beer).

The highlight was definitely the Okinawa soba, which exceeded my expectations with its rich dashi flavor. I also indulged in their soki soba and enjoyed complimentary sata andagi—those sweet fried treats were simply irresistible! While exploring the souvenir shop nearby, I found some great deals on local crafts.

First time to go to an A&W restaurant here in Okinawa. We wanted to go to the very first store however it is still closed. Since we went to Okinawa World for the afternoon and everyone wanted a root beer float we ate at this location. My husband and I had the A&W burger and it was okay. My kids had the chicken and another kind of burger with curly fries which was also okay. My husband did not like the fries though. The root beer float was awesome. The store was clean and not crowded and you can never beat the Japanese customer service. Parking was okay since it is located near a Marudai Grocery store we found an empty space. Overall it was okay, we can say we tried it for the experience.
Great place - saved from American culture, far more superior to McDonalds - feels like good dinner with a good atmosphere - with a Classic bell you can ring if it was good expirience:)

This place is spectacular. The shimadofu was heavenly. I highly recommend it. The suigyoza was also really good (we chose the spicy version). This is some of the best soba I have had in Itoman.

During a spontaneous visit to Tecchan, we were fortunate enough to snag two seats at the bar, offering us an up-close view of the chefs in action. Over the course of our week-long stay, we dined there almost every evening and still couldn't sample all the delicious offerings!
