I’m writing to express my frustration and disappointment with a recent order I placed for a special occasion, which was not fulfilled correctly and was handled very poorly when I came to pick it up. The order included both a custom cake and cookies, which I placed well in advance and provided all the necessary details for, including reference images. Unfortunately, when I arrived to pick it up, several major issues occurred. The cake did not resemble the image I provided. I was told the images I sent couldn’t be used or “blown up,” yet the cake had the same images on it—just not done properly. The decoration looked rushed and was not what I ordered.When I raised these concerns, the associate said they “aren’t perfect” and “not highly tech image designers,” which felt dismissive. I was told the only option was to wipe the cake clean and try again, but that it would still only be a “50/50 chance” of getting it right—and would take another 30–45 minutes. I had guests arriving in less than an hour, and this delay was not acceptable for an event that was carefully planned. On top of that, the cookies were handled carelessly. I had clearly stated they were going into treat bags, yet an employee insisted on placing them on cake paper, despite knowing the icing would smear. This is the first time I’ve had an issue with your store, but the lack of accountability and the unprofessional responses I received were extremely disappointing. I was told it was simply a “human mistake” and that I shouldn’t expect the result to look like the reference image—but that’s exactly why I provided images and placed the order ahead of time. Unfortunately, this experience has left a very negative impression, and I will not be returning. I expected much better, especially for a custom order intended for a special event.

I am extremely happy with the service I received from the first email to payment for a recent baby shower. I placed my order from Arizona. My order consisted of a custom cake along with brownies, cookies and lemon bars. The cake was above my expectations! They asked for a copy of the baby shower invitation and they used the colors and style of the flowers to make a gorgeous cake. The piping and artwork was incredible! The brownies and cookies were very yummy but the star of the shower was definitely the cake. The lemon bars came in a very close second! I recommend this bakery and will definitely use them again. You will not be disappointed. A special thank you to Michelle for taking my order and being so helpful.

When visiting Mobile a trip to Pollman’s is a must! From the notable king cake to macrons to the seasonal pumpkin gooey bars, Bailey really puts the charm in the treats for this Mobile historic stop! Her warm and welcoming demeanor is just the icing on the cake! Always looking forward to trying her new treats and and indulging in the classics! 5/5 stars!

Best bakery in mobile! Employees are always nice and welcoming. Very fast and friendly! I ordered a cake for my office Reagan made sure it was ready and the cake was beautiful. Reagan’s customer service skills are outstanding she is lovely. I will be back again.

My lovely friend Bailey works at Pollman's and she brought an array of goodies for a bridal party I was a part of. The savory scones were DELICIOUS. I had never heard of a savory scone before so I was the first to grab one up. She also brought a few different danishes and they were soo soo good. Huge thank you to Bailey for making and bringing yummy yummy treats for us!

We want to thank Michelle and the employees for helping us with a last min 50th anniversary wedding cake for our mother and father ! We appreciate the extra mile Michelle went to try and replicate there wedding cake 50 years ago thank you again for getting this done on such a short time !

Really disappointed.. ordered fancy flower cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday 3 days before I needed to pick them up from the Old Shell location.. they didn’t place the order. When the ‘baker’ said she would make them up for me, she came out with ‘swirl’ cupcakes that look like a child made them. Not the service or product I anticipated. UPDATE!! I received a call from Pollman’s to apologize and discuss my experience.. very quick response and happily ’made it right’ for me. Thank you!!!

It's a neighborhood donut shop. We went at about 1:30 pm and they were nearly sold out. L made these comments, "Have you ever had an apple fritter that big?" "This filled donut is actually filled!" "I can't believe how good this is (that's a guess cuz she had the thing stuffed in her mouth)." There is no comarison to that chain donut shop. Here whoever makes the donuts LOVES donuts. Thank you.

They did an excellent job with my son’s birthday number 7 donut! I sent them his hand drawn design and they executed it perfectly, just as he wanted. And it was delicious too! Definitely recommend. We’ll be back for sure!

Holy cow, these donuts are amazing. We tried several varieties, including their iconic maple bacon donuts. Heavenly. Also, the apple fritters are the best I have eaten anywhere! Great service, incredible donuts.

We stopped here before getting back on the road for another 8 hours of travel—and what a good start to the morning it was! They had just opened and their selection of donuts was fantastic. The owner helped us and suggested the fresh-from-the-oven pigs in a blanket, which were heavenly. We even got a few more donuts to eat on the road during the rest of our trip! I think what stood out beyond even the fantastic donuts was the kindness with which we were treated. The owner was so friendly and even put a couple of donut holes in our box. Small things like that can really make a person’s day. We’ll be stopping here on our return trip, that’s for sure!!

I can't even with these donuts. They're so light and perfect. Seriously the best I've ever eaten in my life. My husband said his maple bacon one was "perfection", and he never says anything like that. If you've never been here before, you're missing out. They're insanely good. Go. Now.

This is an ok Donut store. Their donuts seem freshly made. They are sweet and soft and taste good. The prices are reasonable. I like some donut chains that have more options but the ones I have had here were ok for a nice morning treat. The staff was nice and helpful and fast.

What a great bakery! Lots of selections and daily specials. I saw flavors I haven’t seen before in a bakery. FlourGirls has a pleasant decor. The staff are helpful and friendly. Drop by to enjoy your choice at a table or take home some treats.

I’ve seen this place a bunch, but I never knew it was a bakery, but I finally went and it is so nice inside and they make some delicious cupcakes. I Highly recommend them for your baked goods for a party, although they seem pretty busy so you might want to reserve early to make sure you get what you want, at the time I was there I think they were like a month booked out or something crazy like that. (I’m not sure what you actually call it for a bakery when they’re really busy.)

I Ordered a cake from here for my Nephew's birthday. I was pleased when I picked it up. It was beautiful. The disappointment came when we cut it. The icing tasted salty and the middle of the cake was half icing, half cake. I tried to contact them with pictures.... got no response from them. Not even an apology... will never buy from here again.

I ordered a cookies and creme cake for my son's birthday. It was exactly what I wanted. Flour Girls cakes are always fresh, moist, and delicious.

I purchased a pound cake on Saturday 5/10. I had lemon cream cheese icing added to the cake. They just rushed and put the icing on the cake, at the same time, Not realizing I forgot to tell them to write happy birthday on the cake. I called and they informed that per health department standards once the cake leave, that they can not do anything to the cake. Due to the poor customer service from the young lady at the counter, I told her I just wanted a refund. She advised me that the owner was the only one who can process the refund and that she will be in on Monday. Fast Forward I call to follow up about the situation speaking to the Owner she was nasty as well and I WILL NO LONGER RECOMMEND THE BUSINESS Or SHOP THERE.

So many types of cupcakes! The strawberry shortcake is absolutely wonderful! They have done so many fabulous birthday cakes for me.

This is a good bakery. A friend had a birthday cake from them that was good. I like how the store location has good brownies, cookies, lemon bars, cupcakes and cake slices. The staff is nice and efficient so good place to get baked items although prices are not really low.

I’ve been gluten-free for over a decade, and now our 6-year-old is too—which makes finding kid-friendly GF food a real challenge. We’re from Florida and were driving to New Orleans when my husband discovered Guncles. He was so excited about it that we planned our overnight stop just so we could eat there—and wow, was it worth it! When I say it was the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had, I’m not exaggerating. We also grabbed some goodies to take with us: the cheddar biscuits (amazing!), the chocolate and spiced fig cake (so delicious), chocolate chip cookies (I want to buy more to give as gifts!), and their regular biscuits—which totally hit the spot. I was so impressed. But beyond the incredible food, the owners and staff were kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find a place with both outstanding gluten-free treats and such heart behind it. It was so good, we’re actually trying to swing by again today before they close to grab more to take home for ourselves and our friends!

The hospitality at Guncles is next to none! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly, and that same warmth carried through the entire visit. The cinnamon rolls and cheddar herb biscuits were absolutely outstanding, and the lemon cake, red velvet, and pumpkin cream cookies were all incredible treats. We also brought home a loaf of bread. The flavor was amazing, though it was a bit dense. I’m still on the hunt for that perfectly light and fluffy gluten-free loaf, but this one was still delicious. All in all, an amazing experience with food and service that makes you want to come back again and again (if only I lived in Alabama, thank goodness they ship!).

Delicious! The Chocolate cake was light moist ,and not overly sweeten. The packaging was elegant with a clean presentation .We were at a tasting in Bluff Park .The owner was nice and knowledgeable about gluten free products and baked goods.

As a commercial gluten-free baker, I’m very discerning about GF spots — and Guncles on Government Street absolutely blew me away. I’m from Mobile and had heard from family and friends that I had to visit next time I was home. While in town with my kids for a high school volleyball tournament, we had some time between matches so I drove over to sample their goods. Wow. Their Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Toffee Cookie is possibly the best cookie I’ve ever eaten — not just the best gluten-free cookie, but the best cookie, period. Perfect texture, rich flavor, and just the right balance of chocolate and toffee. The owner-operators are warm and clearly passionate; you can see their work ethic and creativity poured into everything they make. The bakery feels cared-for and the products reflect that pride. If you’re in Mobile and love great baked goods (especially GF), stop by Guncles — you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

Omg. For real omg. Prices may seem high, but I have been baking gluten free for years and I can tell you it's expensive and honestly their prices are awesome based on the product. They must have really tested their recipes because again OMG! so good!!! Flavor and texture are spot on it possibly better than normal. It makes me want to move here, so I can come daily. Instead I settled for a bag full of goods. Even my picky mom is impressed and mmming. The quality and deliciousness of the food overshadowed everything else, but it should mentioned that the interior was nice and comfortable and interesting to look at. The lady behind the counter was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. She was also very friendly. Go early because they were running out 3 hours before closing.

Wow. Extremely impressed. My husband surprised me with some treats this weekend for our anniversary and everything is incredible. I just went gluten free this past year and gf or not these are some of the best pastries I’ve had in a LONG time and I’m pretty picky about desserts. Not dense at all, not too sweet, all around wonderful. We tried the cinnamon rolls, mini chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, and the red velvet cookie sandwich. (Not sure of the names since my husband picked them out and I wasn’t there) but everything exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be going back!!

We were visiting family who recommended we check out Guncles and are so glad we did! The variety of treats was impressive (and tasty!) and we left with a loaf of sandwich bread to use for a trip to the beach. The bread was dense, but tasty with a nice open crumb. It toasted extremely well and made a top notch grilled cheese. Our very picky non-GF kids used it to make peanut butter sandwiches that they actually ate, which is about as high a compliment as I can give! The hospitality was nothing short of excellent. The cashier walked us through each item on the menu individually and the baker himself came out and checked to see how we liked the savory cheddar biscuits and cinnamon roll (they’re both a must-try!). We also took whoopie pies with us to go and I honestly can’t believe they’re gluten free - they were flawless. The shop was clean and efficient, but not much seating, so ideally plan to pick up and head to one of the gorgeous parks nearby.

I can not say enough good things about Sally's! There has been NOTHING that I have gotten from her shop that has not been AMAZING! From specialty cakes, scrap boxes, cookies, both sweet and savory king cakes to chicken salad are the best! You can't go wrong with Sally's!

Amazing and delicious are just a couple of words that come to mind when describing my daughter’s birthday cake!!! Again, not only was it gorgeous on the outside, it was also the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted. We submitted a picture to Sally and she made the cake identical to the picture. They were so kind and professional too. We couldn’t be more pleased or thrilled. Absolute perfection!!!! She is our “go-to”baker now. It was a long drive for us, but definitely worth it!!!

I ordered a specialty cake for my daughter in laws baby shower and it was beautiful, but, as far as taste it was way too sweet. I love icing, but even I couldn't eat it cause it was so sweet. I ended up having to toss the whole bottom part of it cause no one wanted it. I paid over $170 for this cake. I emailed Sally's to tell them about my issue and they didn't even reply,,, they could've at least apologized or offered me a refund of some sort. I'm very dissatisfied. I would not recommend this bakery.

With it being Mardi Gras season, I thought it would be nice to have a King Cake from local bakery. According to their social media they require 48 hours notice to make a king cake. With this being a busy time of year I thought it best to give them an extra 24 hours. They took the order on a Wednesday and told us it would be ready on Saturday at open. They bakery opens at 9am on Saturday and we arrived shortly after 10am. We were told that they needed 30 additional minutes. Since we do not live in that side of town we waited in our vehicle for the additional time. However, after the 30 minutes, we were told that the cake was just now going into the oven. This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. This no way to run a business. We left annoyed and disappointed. Don't waste your time with this company.

Sally made the most beautiful cake for my mother's 50th birthday! My mother was so impressed and mind blown of the unique butterfly cake sally was able to make happen! First time customer and will definitely be back. Reasonable prices and all of the other treats I saw in store looked really tasty as well. Thank you Sally for your wonderful craftsmanship and attention to detail.😌🙏

This is a mirror glaze galaxy cake it was the best we have ever tasted. I couldn't have asked for a better place to bake this cake for my fiance. When she seen that cake she started crying, we loved the cake. I will be returning. Thanks mrs. Sally.

We have ordered cupcakes for events for years, they are awesome! But today, we picked up a cake out of the cooler…it was DELICIOUS!! Seriously delicious. We added some Lion King characters and called it a birthday cake! Needed lunch, so I bought some of her chicken salad…perfection. Hidden Gem!!

Dropout Bakery is the place that makes every other bakery look like they're just doing homework while these peeps are writing a thesis on flavor. Everything they bake is a full grade above the status quo, a solid A+ in deliciousness every time. What really blows me away is that they come out with a new menu every single week. That's not just baking, that's creative research and development. You can literally taste the thought, effort, and technique that goes into every batch. It's like they've got a team of dessert scientists working overtime in there, fueled by butter and cane sugar I've been cutting out sugar lately, trying to make better choices. But Dropout Bakery is the one exception I happily make. Their treats are just too good to pass up, and you can really taste the care and quality in every bite. And let's be honest, creating a business is not easy. Starting something new and having it actually do well is a serious accomplishment. You can tell the owners put love, care, and a bit of magic into everything they do. Dropout Bakery is proof that when passion meets pastry, everybody wins. The ambience has its own style and uniqueness, it feels collegiate, creative, and laid-back all at once. It's the kind of place that makes you want to stay a bit longer, like a family bbq. If you haven't been, go. Just don't blame me when you start planning your week around their new menu drops. P.S. I love this place

The cutest bakery with unique pastry options in Mobile, AL!🍪🥐🧁 My only complaint about Dropout Bakery is that it’s not closer to me! Atmosphere: The interior and exterior have a very clean aesthetic with white being their primary color, but they spice it up with plants, wall art, neon signs, and pops of pink! Service: The ladies that were working there that day packaged all of our goodies up nicely for us and helped us in choosing the best options from what they had left! Menu items: I got the butter croissant and peanut butter banana cookie! Everything was SO, SO GOOD! The cookie is honestly the best one I’ve ever had (and I love a good cookie)! Their menu consists of croissants, pop tarts, moon pies, cookies, and specialty items—cinnamon rolls, brownies, cake, and more!🌙🥧🍰🧁

This place was delicious. It was a little on the pricier side, but worth it for the quality of the food. They have a cute outdoor seating area. We got a variety of things- croissants, cinnamon rolls, cookies- and loved them all!

I spent like 25 bucks on 2 croissants and a cookie. Prices were not listed on anything. The food was good though. But 25 guys let’s be real for like 2 seconds 🙂‍↔️

the cutest bakery with the most AMAZING croissants, buttery and flaky literally perfect. The droptarts, bagels, the cinnamon rolls oh my goodness i can go on. Whenever there is sourdough on the menu you need to get!!!! Try your best to come early because everyone will line up just waiting on the delicious pastries. The workers make you feel welcomed with a smile on their face and lacey, the owner, is a ray of sunshine and you can tell how hard she and everyone works and how much they love serving these pastries. 100/10 will always be my favorite bakery!!!!

The pastries are a bit expensive but were delicious & very pretty. Came in shortly after opening and one person was working the register and was moving very slowly so a long line formed quickly. Prices were not made clear either with nothing being marked with cost. I will say it is not very clear on the location either if you are unfamiliar with the area.

Great baked items that are delish! My fave are the pecan barsI had no idea they served hot lunches. Will have to try next time. Parking can be a bit tricky, but most patrons are in & out.

Went w a friend for a fairly sizable purchase for party cakes which were pretty good. However, the staff wasn’t the typical nice and friendly I’ve found in Mobile. They were rude and disrespectful to an older woman who was slowly working her way through the door, but apparently she didn’t move fast enough for them. So they yelled at her.

I LOVE Bake My Day! Best chicken salad in town!! Cookies and cakes are scrumptious! Personal favs are the sweet & salty chocolate chip cookie, white chocolate macadamia cookie, Italian Creme cake and the pound cake! Yum!!! It's all very good...literally all of it!

So good!! Let the aftermath be testament to the deliciousness of the meal; we couldn't wait to take a cutesy "before" pic. We had hummus, chicken shawarma, and gyro with side of tomato cucumber salad. I wish we had this shop closer to home.

Ordering was easy from the counter and our food arrived quickly. The quality and taste of the food was top-notch. The dining area was compact and clean, with tables inside and out on the sidewalk. I believe this is a very busy place for the downtown lunch crowd, but you can order ahead for takeout.

Stopped in tonight after going out with some friends. We ordered the chicken funghi and it was absolutely delicious. The guys working are so sweet and chill. They gave us a free same of the orzo pasta. Food was amazing and vibes were high. Definitely recommend!

I found this place when I was walking around Mobile exploring. Really good food and they give you a lot of food for the price. I loved the hummus.

The food never disappoints. I usually go to the one on airport. But I was so happy and pleased the one on dauphin st stays open late, it really was such a wonderful convenience to grab the falafel gyro and hummus with pita bread, my favorite thing to order !!

Had the Hercules sized Redneck Gyro, it was loaded with gyro and conecuh sausage. The sausage and cheese gave it a more smoky taste which just took it over the top. I had the dolmas with it and it was standard and fresh tasting. Definitely recommend that you come here if you’re in Mobile!

Yummy sandwiches, friendly staff, and cool location right in the heart of LoDa. We tried several different sandwiches and sides and were pleased by everything. Great place for people watching, too! I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

First off the vibe in here is cozy and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and even will come to your table to see if you need anything. Such an inviting place and the coffee is fire! They have plenty of options too for vegetarian and vegans and non plant based folks too. Great place to get some work done here. They have plenty of outlets and a good amount of places to sit. Everything I usually need in going to a coffee is found here! Stop by when you get a chance, you won’t regret it!

This coffee shop is a gem! The coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had, and I love that they roast their beans fresh in-house! The space has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. It’s clear they care about quality and creating a great experience for their customers. Highly recommend stopping by—you won’t be disappointed!

Great selection of smoothies and scones with a relaxed vibe. The smoothie was filling, though pricey. And the variety of options was nice to see, so plenty to choose from for vegetarians and anyone wanting a creative, substantial smoothie. Also the location is a convenient walk from a lot of places in downtown, though I didn’t see many pedestrians in Mobile. The barista was friendly and gave me the lowdown on the scone recommendations (3 types), and his rec was spot on. Worth a visit if you’re nearby or visiting.

Serda’s Coffee Company is hands down the best coffee shop downtown! The atmosphere is always welcoming, whether you’re stopping in to get some work done, catching up with friends, or just grabbing a quick pick-me-up. Their coffee is consistently fresh, smooth, and full of flavor, but what really makes them stand out for me is their chai—it’s absolutely to die for. Perfectly spiced, creamy, and comforting, it’s easily the best I’ve ever had. On top of that, the staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit feel like a treat. Serda’s is a true gem and the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to again and again. COFFEE SO GOOD I DIED!!

I don't drink coffee, but I chose to have breakfast here because I saw smoked salmon bagel on the menu. I haven't had a salmon bagel that I didn't like, until the one I had here. Maybe the bagel wasn't toasted crispy enough, or was it the pickle that was added, or was there too much cream cheese? I'm sure these are positive to some. I finished it, I just can't say that I enjoyed it. I also ordered the fruit smoothie "sunrise" and it was good (5*), but the large one I had cost $7.95 so it's fairly pricey. The place has this cozy, relaxing vibe and I can see that this is a popular place to hang out.

I love Serda’s every time I come! And all these cute upgrades just elevates the vibes. So yum so friendly. Always in my heart!

Traveling through Mobile and stop here for a quick pick me up. It’s a cute little shop and the service was great. The down side was they were out of things that we wanted to order. I ended up going for an ice raspberry coffee… not great didn’t taste anything but regular coffee. My husband got the mango monsoon smoothie. That was good had to substitute the pineapple in the original smoothie for bananas because they were out. Still tasted really good. My husband also got a cinnamon roll. Unfortunately the cinnamon roll was not great. It was hard as a rock. They didn’t even warm it up the frosting that went with the cinnamon roll was fairly good but couldn’t get over eating a rock.

Had to try out this local landmark after dinner while visiting the area, and it was great! Cute little shop with a ton of invebtive flavors. Ordering can be a bit of a ratrace, but even with it fairly busy we didn't wait long before we had our order. Good prices, too! Ordered a double dip of king cake and cinnamon king cake in a dish and another double dip of king cake and strawberry oreo. Both were very good, with real pieces of king cake in those varieties!

The ice cream was delicious!! Parking was very limited, there was no restroom (from what I saw), & the inside was very difficult to move around in as the aisle was narrow and to get to the back of the line you had to squeeze to the back of the building. The staff were friendly and moving as quickly as they could for it being so busy.

Great icecream and great prices! If you're getting a scoop, you can't not get a triple! Go with 3 different flavors to really experience the quality. And they have a Guinness world record! My only recommendation is to put in a sign indicating the que for non-regulars.

This place was awesome! We had our daughters 1st birthday party here, the staff was so kind and helpful, the Ice cream was delicious! We had our party from 11 to 12 and the place didn't open till 12 so we had it all to ourselves! The kids got to make their own sundaes, everyone had a great time. They even have old sodas, we enjoyed a cold root beer. There is also a classic horse to ride with the quarters!

Go ahead, have yourself a few scoops of ice cream with a side of *privilege.* I started to write this review as it happened yesterday. But stopped and said to myself 'sleep on it first.' Because maybe, juuuust maybe I'm being dramatic or overreacting. But nope, I'm still upset. I went in to get ice cream with the 5yo I keep. We had about 2 or 3 people ahead of us. They were being helped. We patiently stood at the end waiting for assistance. All but 1 employee was busy helping others. Blondie with the braces didnt appear to be assisting anyone at the time. So we continue waiting another minute or 2. An older white man walked in and she immediately walks up to assist him. He literally walked around us with his dessert to go check out. Little miss blondie avoided eye contact and didnt give us a second thought. I wasnt otp or preoccupied with anything. I have no clue why she ignored us. After waiting a bit longer, I thought to grab her attention (even tho I shouldn't have to bc I'm not invisible- she saw me) but at that same time, more people walked in (after school rush) & she immediately helped them as well. Finally, a melanated employee walked up and helped us. Unbelievable! And mngmt can watch the security footage if they dont believe me. She bypassed us- didn't even acknowledge our presence. But she smiled and attended to "the others" But that's on par for this area.

Been coming here since I was in high school. I graduated in 1984 so go figure. The ice-cream here is the BEST. I’ve been across the country from the west coast to the east coast and I have got to say that this place might have one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had. (Everywhere I travel to, I find a place and get a milk shake). I got the “Cookie Monster” ice cream and had them turn it into a milk shake and it delivered in all the right ways. This place has that “mom and pop” type vibe. It’s clearly been around for a while and there’s a very good reason for that. Great service, delicious ice cream and an environment that is welcoming and friendly. This might genuinely be a good reason to stop by Mobile Alabama if you’re ever around or near.

I was violently craving some steak and eggs so I came to find this place via Google. The food was good but when you walk in there was this really odd smell like old dirty mop water? It smells particularly strong when you walk in and at the check in counter. Staff was great, food was flavorful. I highly recommend the crispy hash to add to whatever you order. It's quite crispy and triangular.🙂😊.

TL;DR: 3/5. Cool spot with a lively vibe and fast service, but parking sucks. Tried three dishes - none were terrible, but none really stood out either. Food looked better than it tasted. Just okay overall. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. Big Bad Breakfast in Mobile has a good, casual vibe. It’s loud but in a normal, busy breakfast spot kind of way. Service was fast, which I liked. I didn’t wait long, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Parking is a pain. Not many spaces, and nearby businesses will tow. On busy days, you’ll probably have to wait for someone to leave before you can park. I ordered three things: Biscuit and Gravy with sausage gravy: Decent portion, but basic. The biscuit was alright and the sausage gravy didn’t have much flavor. For six dollars, I expected more. I’ve had better from local mom and pop places. Oyster Scramble: Scrambled eggs mixed with bacon, onions, tomatoes, and potatoes, topped with fried oysters and sliced jalapeños. Sounded good, but it was bland. One of the oysters had shell pieces in it, which ruined the bite. Creole Omelet: Three egg omelet with shrimp, andouille sausage, onions, tomatoes, and cheddar, topped with tomato gravy and scallions. Big portion, but still lacked flavor. It came with tossed greens on the side, which I didn’t expect and wouldn’t have picked. I would’ve rather had fries or fruit. Overall, not a bad place, just not something I’d go out of my way for. The food looked better than it tasted. I’d rather stick to smaller breakfast spots that are more consistent and flavorful.

Absolutely wonderful spot for some incredible brunch. Stopped here for the first time on our way back to GA and everything was perfect. We sat on the patio with the pup. We had the creole omelette, a chocolate chip pancake, chicken and waffles, and a caramel cold brew. Actually 2 cold brews because it was so yummy. Everything was fantastic. Nick was our server and he did a phenomenal job. Honestly I saw everyone working really well together as a team. Definitely will come back next time I’m in this area or passing through!

This reminds me of a modern take of a 50’s diner. The old school looking grandma’s silverware was a nice touch. The place is neat and clean. The restroom was clean; if you know you know. The waffle was not overcooked, light and had a sweet taste. I ate it without syrup. The waffle is a little pricey for what you get. So if you’re hungry, order something to compliment it. The big bad skillet is great for meat lovers. FYI- if you love your potatoes crispy, how the skillet is cooked makes the potatoes soft. The steak and eggs- the steak is a 6 ounce ribeye. It was seasoned well but it is not a high quality cut of meat as one would expect looking at the price. The price is a good reflection and the entree is reasonably priced. The grits were buttery; the biscuit was flaky but is nostalgic because it reminds me of the gas station biscuits we would get on a road trip. The breakfast potatoes alone, were seasoned well and crispy. They were great. The coffee is run of the mill; but the aesthetic of the restaurant and the old school looking coffee mug made me feel like I was visiting the old diner’s grand (kid) diner. The service was not that attentive. They still were pretty good but we ran out drinks and I was not given any refills on my coffee. But the server brought the jam and checked up on us prior to the drinks running dry. In the words of Boyz II Men, “let’s don’t wait til the water runs dry.” This is a great brunch spot I am looking forward to trying again.

Wow, what a great experience!! The Biscuit Crumble is uniquely GREAT, and the French Toast tastes like funnel cake, but not too sweet! A fantastic find of a restaurant for us!!!

We wanted to love this place, but the food fell so short. The waffle was dry and hard to eat. The bacon was ok, but the biscuit sandwich had too many flavors going on, it did not blend well. The atmosphere was great, it was a fun restaurant. We had great service.

I had the veggie omelet and my husband had the mother of all biscuits. Super yummy, though my husband didn’t have enough food. Thankfully, I can’t eat too much at a time due to past gastric surgery (and yes I actually still try to keep to that for the most part) so he helped finish mine 😊

Good deli section, husband loves it. Great beer and wine selection. I like the salad bar, it’s $8.99 per pound. Lots of variety. The bakery is awesome, too. There are always fresh flowers for sale at decent prices.

I really love going to Rouses. They always have fresh flowers, fresh seafood, nice meals that you can make at home easily, like steak, asparagus and baked potatoes. You can prepare at home easily. The store is always clean and I can always get help finding things it’s one of my favorites stores ❤️. I go there all the time. They also have great pies… Key-lime pie 😋 a lot of great everything 👏 you gotta go there from the time you walk in the door, it’s a lot of good stuff!

I go there every week to purchase flowers for my sons grave the florist is so special and kind she always gets me right and they have the best and freshness collection of flowers. I love it!

We went to check out for my sister who is moving into her dorm today and the cashier at register 3 had so many rude comments about what she had gotten for her dorm and was being rude when even starting a conversation, she was giggling when she said slick things and that’s just not a buisness I want to support. Heading back from my bday wknd on the Gulf Coast and decided to try a different location.. Huge mistake and waste of time. Having worked at a grocery store before, I wholeheartedly understand being out of stuff, especially nowadays. However, when I spend a little over an hour in the store that's just about out of everything I went in there for on top of non existent service is too much. I got some of what I came for, but had to drive 4 hrs back home w/out what I really wanted. There is NO Rouse's anywhere near where I live, so this was really disappointing. Oh well, you live and you learn!!!

Maybe I missed something but the downtown market did not have a deli or bakery. It feels like a food lion complete with security at the door. I went in walked around and left to rush over to the St. Louis market which I can’t recommend enough.

I will leave my old review (from 3 years ago) below, because I really meant everything I said back then, but since then this place has gone WAY downhill. Still has friendly people working there, but I don't think we'll be going there much if ever, as shopping there is not good anymore. One thing is they seem to have even more than they used to of these portable 'featured item' type racks placed in the isles, which are too narrow already. But the main thing is how bad the meat and produce coolers have gotten. I have a crazy strong sense of smell, so I smell the 'rot' as soon as I walk in the front door nowadays, but when I go with anyone else, they can certainly smell it by the time we get to the back of the store. Now with the fruits and vegetables, it's getting pretty often where the kind we want are all shriveled up or going 'bad' --if the supply of fresh replacement stock hasn't come yet, that's understandable, but dont' just leave the disgusting unsellable pieces in there! And then there's the meat. THAT is the main thing you can smell in the air, the horrible odor of rotten blood and if you don't believe me, see the photo below, inside a meat cooler. I often smell bleach along with the decomposition smell, but whoever is cleaning is only wiping some of the surfaces, obviously not the floors of the coolers, where all the drippings fall to. It has gotten steadily worse in the past year or so. Then there was the day I had a sinus infection and could hardly smell anything. When I went to check out, THANK GOODNESS the cashier lady had my back. She asked if I was sure I wanted to buy the package of raw chicken. I asked why, and she said it smells bad. I picked it up and took a whiff -- GOOD GOD, it smelled like actual POO! And sure enough it was 2 days expired, shouldn't have even been on the sales floor. I mean, don't take chances with CHICKEN, yall. -------------------------------------Old Review Below------------------------------------------ Wonderful staff, good prices and decent selection for the store size. Also they have more cold and frozen items behind glass doors than any other store I've seen. For the minimal inconvenience of having to open them, you get lower prices thanks to the thriftiness of it (imagine your electric bill if your fridge and freezer were always open!). And it's more eco-friendly. Would give five stars but for a couple things: Should stay open til 11 like Winn and Walmart (so we don't have to go to one of those, after 9). Also the meat selection and prices are the BEST in town, but sometimes beef steaks are cut so thin you can't do a good sear with rare center.

I ordered as you see and it had foam and I asked to be full to the top and this is whet it look like after the foam went down when I opened it at the office, and I asked to please fill to the top, my boss is picky, so when I saw this I had to pour some of mine in his to keep him happy and of course I now have a small amount of coffee but paid for a 16oz keep in mind I never drank out of either just sat down to reheat after getting back to the office , we here stoped going to the other place (SB) just because of this reason and now they are slowing going out of business, I hope you guys are not headed that way with little product in the cup but price are the same or has gotten a little higher, please talk to your people , it kinda makes me think they did it on purpose just because I asked

I honestly don’t know how many locations they have, but if I ever did, I would have all of them saved because their coffees are the absolute best. And the best thing is they actually have a bunch of sugar-free options, which is amazing for anybody that is diabetic or insulin resistant. You really don’t have to worry about how much it’s gonna raise your sugar because if you tell them, they’re gonna go ahead and use sugar-free options. A few of my favorites are the vanilla bean with with three pumps of coconut, coconut cream Matcha, butter, pecan latte, and the plain old white mocha. If you like hot ones, definitely try their Blondie on the beach and you’ll be amazed to know that they actually make a killer pumpkin spice during the autumn. ❤️ hope you find your favorite seasonal and regular flavor because they are worth the shot.

Yellowhammer is my favorite coffee shop and my regular location on Dauphin has an amazing staff! They are all so friendly and even make an effort to remember my name. They go above and beyond for their customers! I have had similar experiences at all locations I’ve been to.

Hands down the best coffee in Mobile. I have probably been a hundred times and I have NEVER had a bad experience. Order is on point, customer service is perfect. Now that they have moved locations on Dauphin St, the drive thru is a breeze compared to what it was at the old location. If you live in Mobile and you are still drinking at Starbucks, what are you doing with your life? I wish they were open on Sundays, but everyone needs a break so I’ll let them slide on that haha

Hands down the BEST coffee in Mobile, AL! I live an hour away and whenever I’m in Mobile, it’s a must stop! My go to fave is sugar free Blondie. I also like the seasonal flavors such as banana bread blondie, French toast, pumpkin pie iced white mocha and the king cake iced white mocha! Service is top notch and all the baristas are friendly. Can’t beat Yellowhammer!

What a great place for some very different flavors of coffee. Lots of different options on the specialty menu. Great space that includes standing desks free to workout while you eat or drink. Paninis and other sandwiches are available for a very reasonable price.

Friendly staff, great coffee shop vibe and of course a local establishment to support. They have always have the greatest and newest flavors to try and change constantly with the seasons. Make sure to stop in for not only coffee but quick bites to eat as well

We stopped by for a latte and matcha latte—and also picked up some of their ground coffee to take home. The space is warm and inviting, with friendly service and a relaxed vibe. What stands out is how the café is thoughtfully divided into separate areas, including one that feels perfect for coworking. Chill music plays in the background, making it an ideal spot to focus or unwind. Definitely a place worth returning to, especially if you’re looking to work in a peaceful environment with good coffee.

The shop does not give chain store vibes and makes an effort to make a comfortable environment. Every coffee i have bought there has been spot on and reasonably priced. They also sell raw local honey in the store. The only negative thing I have to say is that the parking lot is small so navigating with a trailer might be tricky. The drive thru is on the back side with only one way in so if ya miss it you'll need to do a u-turn, no big deal as it's not a main street.

I can’t drink caffeine, but met some friends here for a meeting. They loved their coffee and energy drinks and the atmosphere was fantastic. There’s a whole separate room separated from the counter with a couch and chairs. It was a great spot for a quick meeting.

A small, cozy local coffee house with plenty of brews and a small but solid selection of croissants and paninis. Excellent to sit down and chill, or if you're in a rush, you can take the drive-thru.

We stumbled upon this gem as we passed through town on our way back to Oklahoma. This place is spacious, clean, and the staff was super polite. It's one of those places where it's evident that they enjoy working there. I had a dirty chai and my girlfriend enjoyed a latte. Both were very very tasty. Do yourself a favor and give them a shot.

I generally like all the versions of Greer’s but this one warrants a review. The staff is friendly, prices are acceptable and they have some things I can’t really get elsewhere. -rooftop patio is not to be missed -on premises alcohol -great wine selection -hot bar -Cammie’s ice cream!! The list goes on. Us downtowners are lucky to have this location and configuration.

My wife and I drop in to Greer’s on St.Louis Street frequently to grab a casual meal. Sometimes we take our grandchildren. The salad bar and hot bar are both great. The kids love the mac and cheese. We’ve gotten some great daily specials. But our “go to” is the StL burger. It’s huge and delicious. We like to sample the different draft beers and individual canned beers with our meal. And the grandkids typically get a freshly baked sweet treat or ice cream. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. Dropping in on a night when there is live music is a bonus. Everyone should give this place a try.

I really like this place. The rooftop lounge is great and the selection of food is fantastic. Not to mention the single beers you can get to build your own six pack. If you buy champagne they will put it on ice for you

This location is very aesthetically pleasing. It has several amenities that are not at any of the other local Greer's, in Mobile or Baldwin County. I definitely will recommend stopping through if nothing else, just for a look. Customer service was top-notch here. In the dining area, I love the fact that they do have a rooftop seating area and an indoor area that has a lot of natural light.

Great new place on St. Louis street in Mobile. This new concept from Greer’s is amazing. The grocery has everything you need. The meat department has a wonderful variety of steaks for you to grill at home an impress your friends and family. We ordered lunch in the deli and had the special hamburger that is in competition with 20 restaurants in town for the best burger in Mobile. Gouda cheese with bacon topped with blueberry dressing was amazing. Great dining area with picnic tables and roll up doors. Six big screen TV’s for your Saturday afternoon football game fix. There is also a great rooftop seating area. Don’t miss this great new place in Mobile!

The place is very clean. Customers frequent there often enough to know the associates by name and vice versa. Everyone is very friendly food on the hot bar is good, lunch is busy the prices are a bit high though

We had such a great experience here! We stayed in mobile for 2 days and came to greers for coffee and biscuits in the mornings. Robin, a joyful and passionate employee, did her job with a huge smile on her face. She made everyone in line laugh while executing orders quickly. Robin, thank you!

The bartender is an amazing mixologist. He makes delicious craft cocktails. The food, however, comes from a different restaurant, and we order a margarita pizza. It was horrible. But I'll definitely go back for the drinks@

POST is my favorite spot downtown for so many reasons! First & foremost, the staff are incredible! Everyone is so inviting, friendly, and knowledgeable — always open to offer suggestions when you aren’t sure what you want. Every cocktail is well-made — my favorites are the St. Francis, Double-Crossed, and Here Comes the Sun! It’s even better that their food is tasty too! The 504 POST Toast/pizza? *chef’s kiss* The Veggie Spring Rolls & Blackened Seared Tuna are my favorite shareables! Monday nights, they offer “Paint & Sip” and it’s fun to bring some friends, chill, and enjoy Happy Hour! The atmosphere is always perfect for a night out no matter what day of the week it is!

There was only one other table occupied in the restaurant and the server took 10 minutes to approach our table. The server also stood and talked with coworkers for quite some time right beside our bar drinks that were ready to be brought to our table. The servers are clearly more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving guests.

I’ve been to Post numerous times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere—especially since I live just down the street. But during my most recent visit, I had an experience that left me both angry and deeply hurt. Despite being a regular customer, I was denied entry without a valid explanation. The way it happened made it clear that the treatment I received was racially motivated. It was humiliating and painful, especially coming from a place that’s part of my own neighborhood. I’m sharing this because no one should be made to feel unwelcome or targeted based on their race. I hope the management takes this seriously and addresses the issue with proper accountability and staff training. I expected better from a business I’ve supported for so long.

We tried to come here once before and they were packed. This time we arrived early on a Friday, right after they opened. The bartenders were very friendly and we talked to them about the area while they made us some delicious cocktails. We would gladly come here again, but maybe not if they were super crowded, because I liked the laid back, not busy vibe. They have outdoor seating areas in the front and back, as well as a room off to the side that looked like you could spread out. So I could also see snagging one of those areas and hanging out with friends on a nice day.

Good place to have cocktails. Friendly staff and quick service. The food menu is limited and we found the dishes to have almost the same sauce and to be overly salty. Great place to visit in small or big groups.

Great place to have a nice talk and great cocktails after brunch! My pro tip for you is to get "Here Comes The Sun", a sweet grapefruit soda flavored cocktail, with Tequila which also makes it's alcohol level strong.

Update: I changed my rating because I placed a pre-order on Sunday for pickup on Wednesday. The pick up window is 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. When I arrived my order was not ready. They told me it would be another 30 minutes because they were baking. They could have text or called to say that the order would not be ready or that it would be delayed. I emailed and called after I left the bakery. I received a email at 7:02 p.m. that I could pick up the items that I ordered the following day. When I called the bakery directly, I left a voicemail and I never received a call back. The Sammies are good the customer service could have been a much better. I see in other reviews that they do text or call when the ordering is delayed, maybe they only do that for regular customers. ********* ellenJay is amazing, just amazing!! I'm not usually in Midtown but today I decided to make a special trip to ellenJay. It's hard to resist this adorable Bakery boutique because customer service is wonderful and the Buttercream Peanut butter Sammies, Lemon Tea Cakes and that Sweet Potato cupcake are out of this world. I decided to get a few things because I'm not on that side of town often and I'm so glad I did. It took me a few days to get through everything and it was definitely worth it. As I entered, I was greeted by a smiling eyes and display case of baked goodness. It was hard for me decide what to order, so I asked to recommendations. I can't remember the lady's name and she had a mask on so it's hard to recognize if she was one of the owners. But she was so very helpful and friendly. She recommended the Sweet Potato cupcake. She said it was a customer favorite and after taking one bite, I know why. Next, the Buttercream Sammy, I chose the Peanut Butter because its.. peanut butter and I love peanut butter. I've had Sammies before but this one is by far the best. The buttercream was light and the cookie was absolutely perfect. It is everything you hope a Peanut Butter cookie would be and so much more. I'm a huge fan of lemon and she said the Tea cake was a moist cookie with a bold lemon flavor and she was right. It was delicious. Check out their website, they offer shipping and curbside pickup. I see a curbside pickup for some cupcakes and a Peanut Butter Sammie, in the not to distant future. See ya there

EllenJay is literally amazing!! They made my wedding cake and dessert bar and it's something that guests still talk about to this day (almost 2 years later)! I'm a wedding photographer as well and EllenJay always does such a great job! I get excited when I see their names on the vendor list because I know I'm in for a treat! HIRE THEM!!!

I bought cookie sandwiches and a cake in a cup. Hands down, the best desserts I have ever tasted. The cookies were amazing and the cake cup was out of this world. I have been getting carrot cake as my birthday cake since I was little, it’s tradition. This year I will be getting their sweet potato cake instead 😋

Such sweet people that work there, and these cookies are literally the best thing you will ever put in your mouth! Nothing compares to these. If you’re a cookie lover like me then you just have to try them.

Wanted something special for my son's birthday party, they were perfect.

The cake was absolutely beautiful. My daughter loved the way it looked. The taste…. well I definitely paid for the artistry. Everything in the shop looked delicious so maybe it was just our choices. The cake was the confetti cake and it was super dry. The frosting on the outside was ok, but the frosting between the layers barely had a flavor at all. I will probably try something else in their shop and if other options are good I’d order another cake from them. Otherwise, no.

When I went in a lot of the cupcakes were out of stock; it was well before 1 PM when I went in. Cupcake prices are comparable to other specialty bakeries. The cake itself for the vanilla cupcakes was good but the buttercream icing for mine was a too salty for my taste. The red velvet icing was perfect but the cake itself was dry/was slightly overbaked.

Ordered a cake last week for my Mother’s birthday and picked it up on Friday 1/24/2020. We had the cake that night at a birthday celebration for my Mother. The cake itself was terrible, the only good part was the icing. The cake was extremely dense and was not cooked correctly or was not mixed correctly. This is the second cake we have ordered recently from Simply Sweet that had issues. The first cake was in November for another birthday. We decided to give this bakery a second chance and ordered the cake last week. This will be the last time my family orders from this bakery. When my girlfriend contacted the bakery and spoke with Danielle the owner/manager regarding the problem and quality of the cake, Danielle only offered a credit for half of the cake or some free cupcakes. Danielle didn’t apologize or seem to have any empathy for this situation. I am a business owner and I understand sometimes this don’t go as planned, but I know how to make my customers happy when there is a problem. Danielle doesn’t seem to understand how to resolve a problem with her customers. In summary, there are plenty of bakeries in Mobile with better cakes than Simply Sweet. I would not recommend spending $50 or more on a birthday cake from this place, it’s not worth it.

The absolute BEST customer service!!! I picked up my 3 tiered cake on Friday before closing, and unfortunately, it fell during transportation, and our event was the next day. I was losing my mind because I couldn't fix it! I called them as soon as they opened Saturday morning, and they replaced the cake with 2 cakes and some cupcakes and even decorated them to match my event's theme to where no one even noticed that the replacement cakes weren't the original cake that I ordered! Everyone LOVED them so much and they tasted amazing!!! I'll definitely be ordering from them again. Absolutely amazing bakery!!

Y’all, this bakery is AMAZING!!!! It is most definitely a 5-star business! I’d give it 6 stars if given the option. The business owner, Danielle, and her staff are so friendly, welcoming, and professional. They are PRECIOUS people who work very hard to make sure their bakery is the best around. Any goodies I’ve ever had from Simply Sweet Shoppe have been SUPERB! The cakes are so beautiful and creative...and most of all, delicious! The cookies and cupcakes are always so detailed and beautiful. I would recommend Simply Sweet Shoppe for any special occasion!p

This is very nice locally owned and operated bar and grill. Great for private parties and watching the games. When they're serving food, it's simple but always fresh and delicious. The owner typically brings produce from his farm to serve.

Save your time and money. If this establishment could have less than a star, I would opt for that. Zero customer service, charged $1 FOR A CUP OF WATER (is that even legal?), $10 minimum for card transactions - so in order to get my highly intoxcated friend some water I paid for ten cups of water- and the bartenders were rude and acted more like internet service provider employees than that of the hospitality industry. Never again will this place take a single dollar from me. If you’re the owner, please re-evaluate your staff and your policy.

Was trying to get a beer with the boys as Saturday tradition. Never the less the amount of mud crickets in this establishment was astounding. Seemed as if I couldn’t walk 4 foot without getting hounded for sex. On the other hand two of them left with me so all in all not a bad place

First time visit. Just an old bar, no grill open. Bartender did not seem as though she wanted to be there. No personality at all. Not but a few chairs to sit in other than the at the bar itself. Bathrooms were disgusting, just hold it you have to go. Drinks higher than other bars close by. We'll skip over this place next time.

Frios has served our neighborhood for numerous events and we have always had the best experience. They are so professional, helpful, and accommodating. The popsicles are delicious, but the service is even better!

Were to start first... Ok so first time coming here today and I must say I made a great choice... Ms. Annettes cakes are delicious they are so moist they melt in your mouth and her buttercream icing was delicious... I must say I will be returning soon.. Also her personality and customer service is a A+, She is very sweet and down to earth. Thank you for the great service and cake... I would recommend 😊🙂

Ms. Annette helped make my son’s first birthday special! We were in a bind as no other bakery had time to add another order. She accommodated us and made this adorable shark cake for his shark themed birthday. I recommend the chocolate, it was delicious! She will be my go to local baker from here on out!

Best King cakes in Mobile! So glad that my birthday fell during Iron Bowl week so I could have one for my birthday this year!

We ordered the Bavarian Cream King Cake from Beck and it was delicious! The cake very tender and flavorful and the Bavarian Cream inside was the best! The cake was well packaged, beautifully decorated and so tasty! And delivery was excellent as well! We will def order again.

I no longer feel like I need to drive to New Orleans to get a great king cake. I have tried several different bakeries in Mobile and Bread by Beck is my favorite.
