ARTUSO SPOILS EASTER I ordered a traditional Pizza Rustica for Easter from Artuso online for $29.95, plus shipping = $34.95. I received it and opened the box revealing a very small pie which didn't bother me as ingredients, especially prosciutto are expensive. I cut a slice out of the pie. Where was the prosciutto? Nowhere. Just some tiny meat flakes spread few and far between leaving me with a plain ricotta pie, sans meat. There were also flecks of green in the pie. Damned if I knew what those were. The final straw was the moisture-challenged texture of the the filling which was bereft of any type of grated cheese. Dry. I emailed the folks at Artuso about the problem and was basically told, 'too bad'. They cheerfully declined a refund. Here's a snippet of their communication: "We regret that it didn't meet your expectations. As noted in our store policy, which is available on our website, we are unable to offer refunds for products based on individual tastes, preferences, or dislikes. We recognize that everyone's palate is different, and while many enjoy this seasonal item, we understand it may not be for everyone." The description on the site reads: " Italian meat pie". Should have been labled "Meat flavored" like any other bogus food that's trying to squeak by as the real thing. Wasn't even meat-flavored. I've had pizza rustica from bakeries everywhere. Some had lots of meat, some had little amounts. This is the first time I witnessed one with no meat. Meanwhile, it was Easter Sunday and the local bakeries were all out. I would give Artuso zero stars if I could for misrepresentation of product and awful customer service. DO BETTER, ARTUSO'S

Wow, this place was amazing! I was surprised to learn this is the only location. I live in Harlem, so it’s a little far for me, but it’s definitely worth the trip. The prices are great, and the bakery items are delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back one day!

My partner and I have been a regular here for months now. In the mornings, we get their coffee (available hot and iced!!!) and pastries. Sometimes, in the afternoon, we get their choco milkshake. Our favorite pastries includes croissants, mini canolis, tiramisu, and cherry cheese or guava danish. Folks behind the counter are helpful. The owner is friendly. Service is adequately fast. Coffee and the pastries are affordable. While in their busy hour, the line can get long, we don't mind waiting because being inside the store itself is exciting (looking at colorful, tasty looking pastries and cookies & feeling like you are part of history of Little Italy in the Bronx). I ordered a soccer ball theme cake and a sprinkle cover cake for my brother and A hello Kitty, rainbow and cotton candy cake my sister and they were both amazing super full of flavor and perfect for family events and small groups. There were plenty for everyone even seconds. The ordering process was super easy and they were very easy to contact. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a delicious and stress-free cake experience. Can’t wait for the other custom cake. So glad I found a cake store in the Bronx. And for my brothers seventh birthday, they did amazing cake. I try a new recipe and it was so good. I just wish they kind of put less of the frosting and more of the actual cake but it still taste so good. And here are the few pictures that was on the window ant the store and it looked amazing.

Conti’s is the absolute best bakery in the Bronx! I’ve been going to Conti’s for the last 6 years for all occasions. They are prompt with responding to cake quotes, and they make sure to listen to what you want in your designs. I needed custom cupcakes in 24hrs and they made it happen! The staff is amazing, always helpful and kind. Highly recommend if you want fresh cakes and pastries.

I was searching for a bakery to make my son’s 3rd birthday cake and my co worker recommended Conti’s. It was as easy as going to their website, uploading a picture of the cake and requesting a quote. They responded quickly and the price was reasonable with the option of delivery to my home. It was quick, easy and convenient. I was so pleased with their service and the cake was made perfectly. Exactly how like the picture I uploaded online. And can’t forget the cake was delicious! Everyone loved it.

Great place for fresh bread. So many different flavors to choose from. Came here for the olive bread. A little salty. Generous amount of olives. Semolina was delicious. Went with one of those large black and white cookies for a late snack.

I would come here if only for those rainbow cookies. Old school Italian cookies, which reminded me of my childhood bakeries. I love these simple cookies...pairing those sesame crusted Regina cookies with some coffee in the morning may not be the breakfast of champions, but it will feel like you're winning in life. I just stopped by Madonoas's after a few years of not passing by as a young teen and it's still the great service and nice people as always. I picked up some cookies for my son and wife and some great bread as well.

Bread is great. Services is great. But owners try to get richer much faster than past.. All wheat, walnuts,cranberry and even gas, rent prices has increase..but not this fast. But prices has jump in certain product 80% Walnut bread jump from 5.00(2022) to 6.00(2024) to 8.00(2025).. Did enjoy this bread for decades..but I am done with non stop increase of the prices..

This place was great! I came here for the cannoli and I was not disappointed. 10/10 highly recommend stopping by. My wife got some cookies. I’m not a fan of cookies but they were ok. I just can’t stop thinking about that cannoli though. Wish I could run back and grab another one.

It was my first experience at Egidio Pastry shop of September 7th during Ferragosto Italian festival. I had a cappuccino that had a nice flavor. And I ordered a cream horn, that had an amazing filling and a wonderful taste. I also got a half pound of biscotti's which have a wonderful taste to them. I will definitely return when I'm in the area again to try the other amazing pastries on display.

Very disappointing. The pastries were soso. One was hard, didn’t seem fresh. Fillings were soso. Wasn’t worth finishing. Ordered a cappuccino it was lukewarm, but delicious. The rhum pastry tasted like watered down rum. Looks are deceiving. :/ I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop here.

Egidio Pastry Shop 622 E. 187th. St. Bronx, NY 10458 Chocolate Mousse Made with chocolate cream and chocolate hazelnut bread, the cookie crumbles added a nice touch because it gave it that slight crunch. It has a smooth creamy taste, but my only critique is that I prefer to have this type of dessert chilled. There is an adequate amount of table seating, but it is tight.

This such a great place to stop and grab a hot chocolate, a coffee and some pastries during the holidays. The service is great and the atmosphere amazing. The workers are so nice and polite. Me and my family had such a nice time.

Spontaneously stumbled into Gino's Cafè because the cannoli in the window looked amazing. And wow, they were! Filled freshly in front of us, perfectly creamy and crispy. But the sfogliatelle are the real gem here: a pastry that is notoriously labour intense, here made to perfection - perfectly flakey on the outside, with a great cakelike filling. It brought me more joy than I dare to admit. If I would live here I would go there every week and I would die a happier- and heavier - woman. Grazie mille!

The rumors are true. Super friendly owners who chatted with me about the history. And they had just (today!) released their opening day Yankees Cannoli Cookie! So tasty, warmed chocolate chip cookie topped with cannoli cream and then further topped with a mini cannoli. Impossible to beat, and the food was all delicious

The cannolis here might be the best cannoli I have ever had and the owners are very welcoming like other reviews mentioned! I ordered 5 large cannolis and I wish I had ordered at least 5 more to take home to my family in Boston because the first five were too good to save any and bring home, they were all eaten within a day!

Sal and Dom’s went above and beyond in creating the perfect cake for my bridal shower! From start to finish, they were incredibly helpful, turning my vision into a stunning reality. The book-themed design was breathtaking, with intricate details, delicate florals, and elegant gold accents. It was truly a work of art! Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was also fresh, moist, and absolutely delicious. Every guest raved about both the look and the taste! Sal and Dom’s exceeded all expectations, and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend them for any special occasion!

This place has been around for a long time, and it's slowly declining. I gave it two stars because their Tiramisu is delicious, but their cookies are like rocks with sprinkles. I spent 2 dollars on a large sprinkled cookie. I went to take a bite and I could have cracked a tooth. I banged it on my kitchen counter and it barely made crumbs. The cookie remained close to intact. Ask the girls behind the counter how long the cookies have been sitting there for before purchasing. My mistake for not doing so. If they say the same day, then they must use too much baking soda. Save your dentures or veneers folks! Be wary about them cookies.

INCOMPETENT, UNPROFESSIONAL, HOSTILE! The cake collapsed and so did the professionalism. What followed was the most condescending and defensive interaction I’ve ever had with a business and that includes the the baker, Carlo writing me scathing emails accusing me of being “prejudicial and dishonest” for sharing my own experience! I had to block him because it was basically harassment and deflecting with performative victimhood! I ordered a birthday cake that collapsed before it was even cut, had the wrong filling, and was slathered with an overwhelming amount of whipped cream. It was inedible. I politely emailed with photos, explained the issues, and brought the cake back in person. While I was given a refund, the owner Carlo chose to hide in the back instead of apologizing face-to-face. Initially, he told me on the phone that my initial 5 minute review “kept him up all night,” but showed zero concern for how he ruined our celebration. Rather than apologizing outright, he lectured me on “cake physics,” talked over me about how long his bakery has existed, and blamed the issue on the cake not being “cooled in time”, a problem he knew about but still sent out. He even claimed maybe my family just doesn’t like sweets, completely ignoring the fact that the cake didn’t meet the order specifications and fell apart. What pushed this over the edge was his unhinged follow-up emails, where he doubled down instead of showing an ounce of accountability. He falsely claimed I lied, completely misrepresented the facts, and painted himself as the victim, all because I dared to post review with photos after receiving the refund. The refund was never contingent on me removing the review. To be clear, I decided to post this review because of his aggressive disrespectful behavior afterwards. His version of professionalism seems to be rage emailing a customer for telling the truth. The elitism is also hard to ignore. When I first came to place the order, the woman at the counter acted like she was doing me a favor just by taking it. Her tone only changed when she realized I knew the Westchester nail salon she snobbishly name dropped. The way this bakery treats people varies depending on your name, your background, and whether they think you belong. Just check how they respond to reviews, polite and courteous to some, defensive and rude to others. A refund doesn’t excuse poor service, condescension, and public gaslighting. I’ve been a customer here for decades and expected more. If Carlo had simply apologized sincerely and handled the situation professionally, this review wouldn’t exist. But his arrogance and lack of accountability speak louder than any cake ever could. My advice? Spend your money somewhere that respects both the occasion and the customer. This place doesn’t.

Very disappointed with the cheesecake we ordered for our daughter's birthday. Initially we wanted the 10 inch and were told they would only be able to make the 7 inch. Now that I've had the cake, I wonder if this was because they didn't have sufficient ingredients. The texture of the cake was not heavy and dense as cheesecake is expected to be. Instead it was light and crumbled very easily....similar to what you would get from a regular vanilla cake. The taste of the cake was also off. Are they trying to scam their customers? This was my first time ordering a cake from Sal and Doms. I decided to go with them because this is where my other family memebers have always bought their cakes. This will certainly be the last time.

The cookies are delicious and well enjoyed. However, the tiramisu was disappointing, especially for an Italian bakery. Barely there coffee flavor, dry lady fingers and although the frosting was nice, the cake was mostly frosting so after a few bites, it’s sickening. Lots of other cake options are available so I’ll give them another try and pick up some more cookies while I’m there.

This bakery has been in the area since I was child and from their boxing it says 1956. I recently went to pick up 2 sets of cookies and 2 Flans for the Thanksgiving dinners I was attending. Both houses loved each of the things I brought. The workers are very polite and thankfully the line was not long at all like some other bakeries I've been to in the Bronx.

Cozy spot. I ordered a small chocolate cake and was told it was no good bc it was frozen. So I ordered a red velvet. Gross. Spot is chill. My friends had coffee they said it was good. I won't return. I'll stick to Artusos

Excellent cappuccino, perfect for a dip of their excellent biscotti. I love coming here with the kids because they have little pastries that mean your kid is not eating his/her weight in sugar but feels like it's a nice treat. These are the most delicious pignoli cookies I've ever had (almond with pine nuts on top) and are very expensive because they are only with almond flour. Be warned not to have price shock with those.

This place was pretty good. The service was the highlight. They did a great job interacting and answering questions. I especially liked the packaging they put your purchase in. However, for 7.50 the little cup of creme brulee I had was meh. The top was a little on the bitter side and the bottom wasn't even solid. Too runny for my taste. My son had their chocolate milkshake and said it was great though. Very nice display and store layout. Worth a stop though. Please give them a try they have a large selection as shown in the photos. More like a great cafe than just a regular pastry shop. Amazing large collection of pastry (over 40 options at a decent $20 a pound price) along with gelato, great taste, ample seating and friendly staff. There is a $10 minimum for credit/debit card payment though. Great place to meet up or go for a snack as a group. They also sell coffee beans. I got 7 mini pastries (av $2 per piece) and all of them were pretty good, especially the chocolate eclair, walnut brownie, neopolitan pastry and chocolate cannoli. The chocolate cannoli had a chocolate shell both inside and outside, keeping it quite crisp. The hazelnut gelato was pretty good as well. The shop is also quite historic and was opened in 1925.

Morrone’s Pastry Shop & Café 2349 Arthur Ave. Bronx, NY 10458 Cartocci This Sicilian spiral shaped donut is coated with sugar and filled with ricotta cream. I wish there was a tad more ricotta filling. Otherwise, it was love at first bite.

Visited this place for the first time while on a trip to the area. Sad to say it will be our last visit to this place. We were far from impressed with the taste of the baked good. Everything looked delicious but maybe it’s just not what we’re used to. The only thing I liked was the cannoli. The shell was fresh and crispy and had good flavor. The cream puff I had was tasteless and the shell was hard and seemed old. The cookies we got were soft and cake like not crunchy as I feel they should’ve been. My kids had the cartocci and said it was horrible and tasted minty and ended up throwing them away and based on the description I didn’t feel it should’ve tasted minty. The service was fine and the young girl was friendly. And for the one box of stuff it was $40.

Not so great for the money. I purchased cannolis. Each side had a dot of filling, the filling had no taste. The tiramisu tasted alright. This forcing taste like Italian bakery but more like Spanish , diabetic. I’m taking it back.

Came here with my daughter on mother's Day and they were insanely busy. The ladies behind the counter were so incredibly busy and each and every one of them was so polite, friendly and helpful to the customers. I know this because I was on line over half an hour. The coffee was amazing and the pastries so fresh and delicious!! It was worth the wait! Can't wait to come back. Deserves 10 stars!!

So many delicious pastries it's hard to decide!! I was in heaven here! They are very nice, tables to sit and enjoy if you want a coffee and pastry. We did both, ate a sweet bite at a table watching trays of delights coming out fresh from the kitchen. They have beautiful cakes for any occasion and we took home a bounty of pastries. Every bite was heaven, I'm just sad cuz we ate them all! Great little storefront with fresh bread items and some sparse desserts (just packaged cookies). No cakes, danish or similar treats available. The staff were all super sweet and helpful. Their olive bread is amazing! A previous reviewer mentioned them “making” off menu items for their friends/neighbors and I fully believe her. A gent came in during my visit and requested something they definitely don’t carry but they told him to wait while getting it prepared for him. Guess it’s more “who you know”. I’ll definitely return just for the pane di casa and olive bread.

Moved away from NY many years ago. But today we returned to Arthur Ave and 187th, Bronx NY. Terranova you have awakened a childhood memory with your "LARD BREAD" that you call "CHICKLE"? I have not had lard bread that porky and delicious in 60 yrs! Now after returning home, I will make another trip to get as much of it as you have on hand. The other bread is also very good but the lard bread has to be hidden from me or else....

This is a small bakery focused on breads and they have a ravioli section. Bread is amazing and fresh. My favorite is the olive focaccia . The rolls and bagels are great. I would love to come back for ravioli. If you want fresh homemade breads try this place out .

Today a customer ahead of me ordered a bagel toasted with cream cheese . While toasting his bagel , I ordered the exact same thing. I never seen or heard this being done so I guess it was a new thing. I was told I couldn’t have my bagel toasted or with cream cheese, it was only for “him because he worked at the pharmacy across the street “. I was confused and continued to purchase the uncooked bagel. I asked at least could I have the bagel sliced and also was turned down as they continued to dress his bagel. If you’re giving customer service give the same service to everyone . It shouldn’t matter where I work or who I am It gives off classism which can lead to racism. It was embarrassing and very unfair. Do it for all. Or none. Thank you. Ps. That will be the last time I’ll be visiting.

The best bread! One bit of a problem tho, some of your employees are very sweet & respectful & very welcoming. There is just one of them that it’s a bit rude & I wanted to know if she has every right to stop me from buying more than 5 packs of 7 grains bread? She quickly tells me that she can’t sell me whatever it’s left because she has to have at least 1 or 2 packs of bread in display for other customers to buy. If I’m a customer & I want to buy whatever is left is because I live pretty far. I love the bread don’t get me wrong it’s the best & I as a customer would love to buy without an employee rudely telling me that she can’t sell me whatever is left.

The Galato was delicious, Marzipan good, atmosphere super cute, you will be spoilt for choice in cakes and pasteries. Coffee was a little ordinary but I'm a coffee snob and it's a pastry shop not a coffee shop. Definitely worth trying out.

What terrible, terrible desserts. Like the other posts on how bad the desserts are, I should've read the reviews before spending money here. 1. Rainbow sprinkles on the cookie was soft. 2. The cake we ordered was clearly old. Whomever is rating this place with more than 1 star is fine with bad food. My wife and I were so excited to visit this place after seeing on channel 11. Please take your money elsewhere.

Horrible costumer service!! i always order from them on uber eats and they never ever follow any instructions! I asked them to put the order in a plastic bag, since the uber drivers drop the food on the floor, and they never put it in a plastic bag with a box!! I ordered a bunch of pastries and they all arrived sweaty and melted and they had no box and no plastic bag! They were simply put inside of a PAPER BAG!! And nothing protecting between the paper bag and the items. Which then the uber drivers always drop the food on the floor and knowing that there is nothing protecting the food but only a thin paper layer is not okay!

There is definitely an old-world charm to La Guli Bakery, located on Ditmars Blvd. in Astoria. This old Italian family-owned business, whose granddaughter now runs the establishment, has been in the same building for decades. If you are looking for a traditional Italian pastry experience, this has been my go-to since my childhood. They used to be the best bakery, hands down. From homemade cakes to gelatos, you name it—they were fantastic. I make it a point to visit here every once in a while, and today was the day before they shut down for a week of vacation. Upon entering, my partner and I still had the same feeling and smell of the bakery and had the whole store to ourselves, which made it easier for us to choose the strawberry shortcake, chocolate eclair, fruit tart, and glazed Napoleon. Unfortunately, the freshness wasn’t there, as the cream in the Glazed Napoleon was dry and not even sweet. It’s a shame that a bakery that used to be known for its quality pastries is no longer the same.

Working with Maria at La Guli was such a distinct pleasure. She is a genuinely kind-hearted and caring business owner and knows her baked goods as they are beyond delicious. Wish we lived in the neighborhood so we could come more often. We hired her to do our wedding cake, a traditional Italian layered cake, and cannoli. Where other places either did not do them at all or would charge a premium that was not within our budget, she provided affordability, quality and delicious taste. Our guests loved the unique cake, devoured the cannolis and went back for second helpings. All that considered we still have some in our freezer months later. I paid $7.50(!!!) for a piece of Apple strudel, that was throughly disappointing. It tasted like it had been made several days ago… too many good pastry shops in Astoria to come back to this one.

I had a very good pain au chocolat and cream cheese/strawberry flaky pastry from here. Both were fresh and reasonable at $4 each.

Passed by many times and finally had opportunity to walk through the door. So glad I did. 😊😊 Place looks homey. Very clean & inviting. Mostly fresh baked breads for sale. I did see some cookies for $15 per lb. Grabbed a 1/4 lb for $3.75. Lots of cookies for the money. 👍👍 Really enjoyed the cookies & experience. Need to return for the breads.

The best Bakery in the Neighborhood. The Italian Baguette is my go to buy, which stays soft for a few days. The Olive bread however is must to try and have at every party.

This is the finest bread bakery in NYC! Every loaf of their traditional Italian bread as well as their specialty breads are fantastic. This is the bakery of my youth, I'm now 70, and anytime I return to the Bronx we stop to load up on their bread. We buy a bunch of traditional Italian breads to freeze - except for the loaf that doesn't make it home as it was broken and devoured in the car, plus several of their specialty breads. We especially like their lardon bread, tomato bread and olive bread. But the truth is that I could live on their bread sticks! Plain or with a little butter they are a taste of heaven. I grew up in da Bronx and Addeo's is a taste of heaven!

No where in the Bronx can you find the perfectly baked Italian bread that Addeo & Sons Bakery makes. This place has by far the best Italian bread with the crunchiest ends, crunchy crust hiding the perfect inside. All the Italian delicatessens serve and use Addeo bread for their sandwiches. Like I said , I grew up in the Bronx's Little Italy and know where the best of everything for the palate is. Yum to the 10th level!!!😋

I can't speak enough about how fresh and delicious their breads are! Addeos has been a staple to Bronx Little Italy for over 80 years and still going strong. Pleasant service with a smile could be improved, but it wasn't horrible. The ladies were nice for the most part. But I love coming here when I visit my mom in the Bronx and always will. It's a very clean busy good smelling bakery. They have just about everything you can think of and their Italian bread is really good. The sfugatellas are really good. The only inconvenient things is that it's a cash only place but on the upside they have great prices.

Walked in due to the wonderful aroma of fresh baked goods and was totally satisfied with getting oversized cookies for me and my cousin. A box of sugar free cookies for my uncle and a box of cannolies both varieties to share at my uncle's house with other family members. 8/17/25, 7pm I got their Levain a la mode- you choose any cookie and pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I got the dark chocolate chocolate chip cookie, which was $5.75 and the school of vanilla ice cream was $4.75. So in total I paid $10.50 for the cookie and ice cream combo. The cookie was fresh, soft, and gooey and reminded me of a brownie! I wish they have more ice cream flavors in the future :)

Heard this was one of the top ten cookies in the country and I'd have to agree. I did only try the vegan chocolate chip walnut cookie and it was delicious. They were massive cookies, thick junts for sure but so good. Service was nice and I really liked the outside seating to try these cookies. I will say that eating the fresh is the best way to consume these delicious cookies.

Heavenly baked goods. I love the fruit bread; and the cake slices (lemon, chocolate) which are moist and thick. The often buy cake if I’m visiting a friend, or attending a gathering. The store packages it elegantly in simple branded boxes. If you don’t eat it all, (unlikely) the cake stays good for 2 days if wrapped, in the refrigerator.

Googled ‘best cookies’ & this bakery came highly recommended to try in NYC ~ It did not disappoint. Some of the best cookies I’ve had! I tried the No. 1 bestseller, Choc chip walnut first & it was insanely good. Warm, slightly crispy on the outside but perfectly soft & gooey on the inside w the subtle crunch of the walnut. I ate the whole thing in one sitting which was a lot to handle but I don’t regret it. I later enjoyed the Dark Choc Peanut Butter at home. That’s my fave one 🥰 I ended up ordering 10 more cookies online the next day to take back home to New Zealand for my family to taste a little bit of NYC. Safe to say, they all enjoyed them. Tried Levain twice. Most recently the peanut weekend special cookie. Served warm. The texture was gritty and the flavor overall was disappointing. The first time was the chocolate peanut butter cookie. It was served cold. The taste was no different than from a standard chocolate chip brownie. Which can be gotten anywhere. I expected more from levain for a 8 dollar (with tip) cookie. I gave a second chance bc of the different flavors. The first server was kind and stood out to me.

I love Levain Bakery. I enjoy the freshness of their breads and pastries. My favorites are the chocolate chip walnut cookie and the chocolate chip banana bread. All of their pastries are rich with flavor. I recently tasted their lemon cookie. I enjoyed it and would purchase it it again, but it doesn't beat the chocolate chip for me. This is not a sit down and enjoy your sweets bakery. So don't expect to lounge.

I stopped by to purchase a birthday cake for my husband. Got Red Velvet. It looked pretty, but tasted just a little bit dry (it stayed in our fridge two days until we cut it though). The cream was okay, but I prefer milkier cream cheesier version. I anticipated the best Red Velvet cake and it was not. Since I was inside I could not resist a pastry. Chose a lemon tart. It wasn’t too sweet which I did like. I will shop there again if I am in the neighborhood, but I will choose a different cake next time ( even though Red Velvet is usually one of my favorites ). It is quite convenient that there is a parking lot and Petco next door.

I went tonight after reading the high reviews. It was close to closing time so the cashier had a bit of annoyance when she asked if we were staying and I said—yes. She promptly asked that we make it fast—we did. My curiosity made me overlook this substandard service. I bought the strawberry shortcake, mango kiwi mousse cake and the chocolate croissant. They get a 10 for their presentation but both cakes were disappointing. The mango kiwi mousse cake had a jiggly jello consistency—I did not taste the richness of a mousse—though the flavor was good. The strawberry shortcake felt almost hard and tasted tart. The chocolate croissant would have been the most promising if I had gotten it right after baking. It had the right amount of chocolate but stale from the morning (I hope). I will not be returning here.

My family have been getting baguettes from here for as long as I can remember. They are heavenly, fresh, and tasty. Lately I've been getting their pastries, and they are just as amazing. OMG the tiramisu is phenomenal. Must try, if just the baguettes have had us for decades.

They have good coffee , they also serve other beverages and the pastry is excellent. They also serve sandwiches but the variety is limited. Plenty of parking.

Even after moving from the area, I find myself returning time and again because no other place compares. Everything here is just incredible—from the perfectly flaky almond croissants to the rich and decadent Espresso 31 cake. The bread pudding is an absolute must-try as well, with its melt-in-your-mouth texture and flavors that leave you craving more. Every bite of their pastries is pure bliss, and it’s impossible to leave without wanting to come back for more. Cannelle Patisserie is truly a gem that consistently delivers on quality and taste. I recently visited after my mom told me some family lore about William Greenberg’s. Apparently, in the 60s and 70s, my grandma used to fly with boxes of their treats to Puerto Rico upon request of a friend that used to live in New York. It seems like every New Yorker with generations of lore has something to say about William Greenberg’s. My neighbor says it’s where his mother bought his Bar Mitzvah cake and says that he sends their famous chocolate cake whenever the occasion arises. Going there feels like stepping back in time from the moment you see their retro red and white exterior. But most impressive to me were the BEST BLACK AND WHITE COOKIES I’ve ever had. And I’m not even usually a fan. But the cookie is light and flaky, and the icing has just the right amount of give before melting away in your mouth. And they come in super cute colors? I ate four immediately. They also have vegan options!

NOT what it used to be. We all know many products went down in quality and up in price after covid. This is one of them. Walked into the Madison ave location and a special kid with glasses took my order. He did not know the product very well but someone next to him did and I ended up purchasing (1) lemon and (1) orange pound cake. I was happy until I saw that they are now wrapped in plastic and not very fresh. I tasted it. My wife tasted it. It was STALE. We both agreed that it is not the same as before. Stale and Very dry -hence the back of the cake depicted in the picture. Very weird tasting cake and even the icing did not taste fresh and stuck to the plastic wrapping. It feels like it was not fresh at all. Tasted old and chemically. All the finesse and moist fresh delicious products they used to have is gone. Never again. What a disappointment for the $14 that I paid.

Horrific. I went today for black & white cookies for a kids party. The staff was so rude, slow and incompetent. There was hair in the meringue pie in the fridge! And mini black and whites are $2/cookie. What happened to quality and pleasant service?

Mother in law and my clients swear by this place so i stopped by... now im a fan. Only issue is check your orders. My cake was a birthday cake and they put everything but happy birthday on it... we had a big laugh then ate delicious cake so it all works out in the end.

My son-in-law very nicely went uptown to buy your lemon pound cake for me. He delivered it to me the same day (yesterday). I did not want to complain but it looked stale. I was honnetly a bit let down by Levains. I just felt the cookies were not balanced in flavor and not a texture I enjoy. The magnolia was doughy, not goey, and didnt have much of a savory note and the oatmeal was the same but even drier and didnt have much oatmeal in it.

I got one chocolate chip walnut cookie and one s’mores cookie. Both were really good, and seemed like they were baked recently. I also got a cold brew coffee which was very acidic. This made it hard to drink, I ended up throwing it out.

My friend and I dropped by there a couple of months ago, in the AM hours...it was about 9 AM on a Sunday. And I'm sorry that I didn't get the name of the young lady at the front who served us, as she was very sweet and professional. Yet with that said, the main takeaway here is not actually their ambiance, vibes or even lovely staff members. The main takeaway, Cookie Monster, is their SWEETS!! LOL They make and sell absolutely wonderful, and I mean *wonderful* cookies. : ) Sure, they are pricey, but treats like this should not come cheap. Because, from my limited lived experience (yet speaking as someone with a true "sweet tooth"), they're the best in town. These decadent cookies melt in your mouth. And, from what I can taste, no amount of butter is spared in making them. They are 100% goodness, with goodness being an understatement! Delicious cookies! Big, soft and full of flavor. Prices are great and the place is very pretty. I ordered four cookies, three dark chocolate chip cookies and one adding peanut butter. They were awesome, my family and me loved them! The location is really good, and the staff was nice. They have a variety of options to choose. A must go! Keep it up. ☺️

S&S truly makes the greatest cheesecakes because they use only the finest ingredients such as the cream cheese, eggs and sugar. I had purchased 2 of the plain cheesecakes on 2/20/25 for my church's Hospitality Sunday on 2/23/25. It was a $100 well-spent. The service was excellent as the woman behind the counter was very friendly. All of our guests raved about how creamy and delicious the cakes were! The next time you want to buy a cheesecake that has a rich and creamy taste for your palate, go to S&S. You will not be disappointed.

I'm not sure if this is typical of everyone's experience but I've ordered there 3 times now in hopes it would live up to the hype, but the cheesecake has always tasted frozen and dated. This time I brought a cheesecake to a family function and everyone agreed it tasted less than fresh. I really wanted to like it here, but unfortunately it's overrated.

I haven’t been there in years, I remember how great it was when you walked in and they were baking cheesecakes and the line was out the door. Bought three cheesecakes today worth $87 and they are horrible! Definitely not the same taste or size as in the past. As someone above stated the crust was raw in the the one that was given to me was probably sitting there for days! My pictures will show! Zagat rated maybe once upon a time but as my wife said I’d rather of eaten a Costco cheesecake. Don’t know if it’s new owbers but I saw a response that they’ve been in business for 60 years, but that doesn’t mean that they are serving quality stuff in 2023, maybe in 1963 till 2021 but definitely not now! The worst, horrible!

The coffee here was very good but the cheesecake was alright. For a place that pride's itself for it's cheesecake they can do better. The crust was lackluster and the cake itself is not as rich as it can be. It's a 6.5 out of 10 compared to be the best that NYC has to offer. If I was in the neighborhood I would swing by maybe but I am not going out of my way to grab a slice. I do like the owner, the people here and the calm friendly environment. Hence the 4 out of 5 stars.

CASH ONLY. Came here early on a Sunday just for beef patties. I had chicken, beef, and veggie. The veggie one was actually the spiciest. It was stuffed cabbage and carrots. Fresh. Not. Really good. 3.50/patty. Coco bread was so soft and delicious. Will def be coming back.

My first time trying coco bread with beef patty. Very interesting though to me to have the beef patty inside the coco bread. But it works good together. Their beef patty got good spice in it. Definitely good beef patty to get. They do closed at 4 and line can be long out to the door.

I honestly don’t know where to begin. The lady who helped us was so kind and welcoming. I’ve tried their meatloaf, beef patty, veggie patty, and chicken patty, all of them were AMAZING! The spice fruit bun was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend 👌🏽 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok this was a really good patty but definitely wasn’t the best in my opinion. With that being said if I’m in the area I’ll definitely be back to grab a quick cheap bite. pro tip get one coco bread for every 2 patties it’s the best combo. I feel a whole bread too much but half a bread with one was amazing. Loved it. Some people say it’s worth the travel I think it’s a local gem if you in the area definitely check it out just remember cash only and $4 a patty and $2 I think it was for the coco bread Delicious

Kingston Tropical Bakery is the real deal. If you’re from around here, you already know — their patties are unmatched. That crust is flaky, buttery, perfect every time. Seasoned just right, a little spicy but not crazy. You grab one fresh out the oven and it hits different. Coco bread is a must — soft, pillowy, straight up comfort food. Throw a patty inside and boom, you got yourself a whole meal. They move quick too, so even if there’s a line, you’re not waiting long. It’s one of those Bronx staples — no frills, no gimmicks, just good food that always delivers. If you’re in the area and never had a Kingston patty, you’re seriously missing out.

Kingston Tropical Bakery is one of my go to spots for patties especially when paired with their cocoa bread. The bread is soft, fluffy, and buttery, and goes perfectly with the warm, flavorful patties. I also tried the carrot cake loaf, which was very good moist, well spiced, and just the right amount of sweetness. The line can look long sometimes, but it moves very quickly. Definitely worth the stop!

I went for the beef patty, coco bread, and a meatloaf. The beef patty and coco bread was so soft, not at all like the pizza store. The patty had a little spice but not spicy at all. The meatloaf was just as good, so glad a place I saw on TikTok/ Instagram was actually good. Definitely will go back when I’m in the area.

This place is incredible! Delicious cakes, muffins, and pastries that are not only gluten-free, but also dairy free and kosher. My friend adored the brownie and he isn’t even gluten or lactose intolerant. Everyone can enjoy this place. The help is also very friendly and they have incredibly cute birthday candles for sale.

Some of the best treats I’ve had! I ordered a variety for an event and everything turned out perfect. Will be definitely be coming back!

Literally every product I have ever bought at this bakery has been outstandingly delicious. All the more impressive that they are dairy free, gluten free and certified kosher. I don't require any of those in my baked goods but still think they are the most delicious options out there. Also, nice people working there

When my family and I are in the neighborhood, we make it a point to stop in to one of our favorite bakeries in the city. We really enjoy the Coconut Cloud Cake one of my personal favorites. We also like their blue berry muffin. My daughter loves the Chocolate Chip Cookies , she’s not easy to please. if you’re in the neighborhood, I would strongly suggest stopping in. You won’t be disappointed.

I am so frustrated!!! I got 4 pastries $39 dollars for all but of course I didn’t care cause finally I was got my gluten free pastries!! I take my first bite and there’s a looong hair unbelievable

I have been going to By the Way Bakery for years, since the first store opened in Westchester, and it remains my absolute favorite. They are truly one of the best gluten free, dairy free, and kosher bakeries anywhere in the United States. The quality is always incredible, and they never compromise on ingredients or flavor. It is hard to believe the baked goods are non dairy because the deserts are tasty and never compromise on quality. Even my friends who are not gluten free or kosher make special trips to buy desserts and cakes here. Some of our favorites are the lemon poppy seed cake, brownie fudge, and carrot cake. And during the High Holidays, Mama’s Apple Cake is a must, a guest favorite. The carrot cake is also excellent.

The food was delicious (such a pretty cake and the cookies were incredible) but it's really the customer service that has me a new loyal customer. There were some errors in the original order and Jelise was kind enough to meet with me at the store and craft an entire new cake while Naz reached out to confirm each and every detail. The result was a beautiful cake that resulted in lifetime memories and a newfound appreciation for an UES gem!

Me and my mother stopped by here and bought 2 carrot cakes. One was with nuts & raisins and the other was plain. Both lacked flavor tremendously. The icing is overly sweet and the cake literally has zero flavor. It’s very unfortunate because someone told us about this place but never again.

Lloyd’s Carrot Cake is the place to go when you’re craving rich, flavorful cake—but keep in mind, it’s strictly grab-and-go. There’s no seating inside, so it’s best for picking up a slice (or a whole cake) to enjoy elsewhere. We tried two slices of the carrot cake—one with nuts and raisins, and one without. Both were delicious: moist, dense, and full of flavor. For the best texture and taste, let the cake sit out until it reaches room temperature before eating. They also offer other flavors of cake if you’re not a carrot cake fan.

They’re my number one choice for whole cakes or slices! I was near this location and decided to get me a slice of carro! I also ended up getting a pineapple layer slice which is delicious! Wow, was I happy to go there! The staff is friendly and chatty! The space is comfortable and clean! This is my first visit to this location and not my last!

MOLD ON SLICED CAKE- I ordered one slice of the carrot cake (w/o raisins or nuts) as a birthday treat for my partner on Uber Eats. When it arrived, the slice had noticeable white and green mold spores on either side of the slice. Uber did not let me report this as a food safety issue either; I was only able to get a refund if I claimed it as “stale” which was NOT the problem. Will not attempt again.

I love carrot cake so there was no way I was going to miss this stop at Lloyd's. Our first couple of bites seemed promising but overall their carrot cake was average at best. We ordered a slice with nuts and raisins. The cake is very moist and dense which I loved. And I always love nuts in my carrot cake for texture. But there wasn't much complexity in the flavor. There wasn't much spice to it, a bit plain though not overly sweet. The cream cheese was a a little off ratio to the thickness of the cake, thought it was good and pretty sweet. I also ordered a German Chocolate cake slice and that was a total miss. It was just as thick and dense as the carrot cake slice but so dry. If there was more frosting perhaps in the middle, that might have helped, but the icing was a bit sparse as well. Customer service in the store was transactional, but standing right outside was a man who was friendly and said, "It's so good right?" Appreciated his warmth and friendliness though unsure if he was a customer or affiliated to the store. There are a few other cake options to choose from and you can buy by the slice or whole. Plenty of people love Lloyd's so they must be doing something right. I just didn't love it as much as I thought I might.

The best cake and best carrot cake in New York City. Fresh, delicious, made to order, family owned, and has become a family tradition but also a neighborhood favorite. The 10 inch cake is plenty big for a party or 10 people, the 12 inch cake can serve around 20 people. It’s that big. Delicious frosting, and can order with or without raisins. Custom writing also available for all cake orders.

The absolute best carrot cake you will ever have. Worth whatever distance you have to travel to get this cake. Doesn't matter how far you have to go, don't even consider getting a carrot cake from anywhere else. Amazing!
