The Elderflower Restaurant in Lymington offers a refined modern British fine dining experience in a relaxed setting adorned with monochrome shades. This establishment presents a fusion of French and British cuisine, creating an exquisite menu for patrons to enjoy. With its elegant ambiance and delectable dishes, The Elderflower Restaurant is a must-visit destination for those seeking an exceptional culinary experience in the area.
Visited The Elderflower to try the 7 course (yes, 7 course) tasting menu, and I must say it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Every dish was incredible, but not large enough to make you feel like a stuffed pig by the end. The wine was matched perfectly to each dish and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Easily one of the best restaurant meals I've ever tasted, just superb.

I’m always impressed by the quality and creativity of the food here. The chef’s talent shines through in every dish, with flavours and presentation that are consistently imaginative and beautifully balanced. I’m a big fan of tasting menus, and this one easily holds its own against several Michelin star experiences I’ve had. Not knowing what’s coming next, and having each course introduced as it arrives, really adds to the sense of occasion. It’s also great to see a place investing in future talent—the energy and enthusiasm from the team is infectious. Our waiter was genuinely thrilled when we complimented the bread—he couldn't hold back that he’d made it himself that morning. Just a heads-up: tips are cash only, so it's worth bringing some along to avoid getting caught out. I can't wait to be back, if only I could fit in more than once a year.

My wife and I ate at the Elderflower in Lymington and had the 3 course lunch menu. It was a delightful meal at a reasonable price. The freshly baked bread was such a lovely way to start, along with the bouquet garni butter which was very moreish. We had an oyster each, which we didn't regret! We've never had a better Oyster, and the flavour pairing of jalepeno and honey worked so well. We had the starters of duck salad and cuttlefish, which was pleasant. The main course was the highlight, the mixed grill of seafood was awesome, and the smoky charred flavour was addictive! The desserts were brilliant, especially since it was my first soufflé ever! So delicious. Thanks to Keane and the rest of the team at the Elderflower for a lovely lunch.
David G — Google review
I ordered a takeaway Mixed Fish Grill with potatoes for £25 from The Elderflower Restaurant In Lymington, expecting a decent portion and quality for the price. Although the restaurant staff were nice the food experience was a letdown. First of all, the portion size was shockingly small for a £25 meal — it felt more like a starter than a main course. To make matters worse, instead of the potatoes I ordered, I received plain noodles, which made no sense. For a dish that’s marketed as a premium option, this felt lazy and overpriced. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again. There are plenty of places that offer better quality and value for money. Very disappointing.
Agata K — Google review
A "10 minute wait" for takeaway fish & chips turned into a 35 minute wait, orders came out in waves and for the last 2 portions we were informed that they'd run out of chips and they were now coming fries (looked like the type ovened from a frozen bag). If I had known in advance I wouldve chosen a different venue for our lunch. The standard dining-in experience may have been given the AA 3 Rosettes, but the takeaway option sadly doesn't live up to that grading at all. Communication of expected delays in advance and knowing stock levels could be improved significantly. From what we saw whilst ordering, the quality of food being carried to tables inside looked great. A last tip if ordering the takeaway is to check your order by opening the box before leaving to confirm that you have salt and vinegar on, as they didn't add any to mine despite confirming it at the counter. Not worth £16.50, grab a sandwich from the store opposite, save yourself £10 to use on a flapjack, coffee and 30 minutes of your holiday.

A wonderful full on experience. I chose the KF Fish wings as my starter. This chef must be mad to come up with the idea of fish wings KFC style. It’s so hard to eat without getting frustrated by a bone here or there; but it is soooo worth it. A totally tasty, barking mad, delicious starter. Being a Friday I followed by posh fish n chips. It’s just what to expect from an excellent restaurant. Spot on. To finish Rasberry soufflé. An amazing and incredible desert. It’s a must visit restaurant.
Paul C — Google review
This is fine dining restaurant, but we felt a little disappointed. The duck salad was tasty but didn't seem to have any meat and was what seemed to be duck skin scratchings. The seafood mixed grill was more stew like and the fish was a bit over cooked. The raspberry soufflé was the star dish and quite brilliant.
Richard R — Google review
We chose the four course tasting menu with accompanying wine flight. What a revelation! The whole evening was perfect in every way. Yes, it was expensive, but quality and inventiveness costs - and this evening had the best of both. Great venue for that special treat. I won’t post pictures as that would spoil the surprise of the tasting menu, but each course looked and tasted incredible.

Lanes of Lymington is a stylish 2-storey restaurant and bar located in a former church and school. It offers not only delicious food and wonderful service but also cooking lessons. The restaurant is highly recommended by visitors for its superb cuisine. Additionally, it's worth noting that fresh fish, lobsters, and crabs can be purchased from the Quay to enjoy a speedy and delicious meal at home.
Utterly faultless. My partner is coeliac and they didn’t even bat an eyelid!! Staff were simply charming and the food was SUBLIME. Delicious wine and just the most beautiful evening. Dietary requirements aren’t a thing… they’re just not phased which made eating out a complete pleasure. Thank you!!

It was a wonderful visit tonight (as it is everytime we visit!). We were welcomed in like old friends & chatted with the waitresses about our day and recent events. The food came quickly & my lamb that came highly recommended was spectacular! My parents also complimented their dishes as well and there is clearly someone who knows his stuff working hard preparing the food. Have always loved visiting & will definitely be back as we have never left disappointed!!

It's difficult to find but once you are there you are in for a good surprise. The food is amazing, not pretentious dishes but executed to perfection. I recommend the avocado mousse and the flamboyant chocolate and coffee desert.

Absolutely fantastic lunch. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food both looked and tasted amazing. We had 3 courses, and it would be hard to choose which was our favourite, as the whole meal was faultless, and exceeded our expectations. The location is just off the main street, and is a hidden gem.

I had the most incredible experience here. the service was immaculate, constant care without feeling suffocating. the food was delicious with no complaints and everything hitting the spot. and finally the ambience and decor set the perfect date night. thank you to Nicola and Peter for a night not to forget.

Super friendly staff, attentive but not overly. Menu is really interesting from the starters through to the sweets selection. Star of the night for me was the Avocado Cheesecake starter...absolutely delicious...I am going to ask for the recipe 😋 ....will definitely return when in the area again. One of the nicest meals we have had for a very long time.

Wow ! What a lovely meal , delicious food and really interesting menu ! The staff were excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu and so helpful. Recommend this for a visit , we will be back . Thank you

A lovely quirky restaurant in an old school house. The seating is arranged over a number of small floors so can be quite intimate. It might be difficult for someone in a wheelchair or with limited mobility due to all the steps (there is one down from the entrance). The food is lovely and very well presented. The staff are welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. We had dinner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lunch menu we had was very varied and the food was very good. If you let them know in advance that you are celebrating something special they bring you an extra surprise.

The Fisherman's Rest is a charming pub located in the New Forest, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. Originally a private home, it gained popularity as a haunt for local smugglers after obtaining a liquor license in 1870. The pub takes pride in its community-driven approach, serving up locally sourced food and award-winning real ales.
Exquisite meal. The outdoor seating area is fully covered, beautiful breeze and lots of gorgeous flowers. Food was delicious, we got the fish and chips, pollock, and sea bass, all were freshly sourced that morning from local fishermen. The sticky toffee pudding was the best of my life 😍
Amanda — Google review
We had really nice food here. Not exceptional, but of a good standard. The crab salad was very tasty, but it was hard to taste the garlic butter. The seabass was nicely cooked, but the sauce lacked depth. The sweets were nice, especially the cheesecake and sorbets. The cheeseboard had a trio of standard cheeses that were a good way to finish up what was an overall nice pub meal. The servers were very pleasant and efficient too.
Richard W — Google review
A good pub with a nice atmosphere, we came for a drink one night and likes it so came back to eat the next night. There were 3 real ales to choose and a straight forward menu with a specials card too. The service is nice, efficient with a relaxed feel. The food was good with nice flavour and nice portion size. Price is about average and the decor is very pleasant with a lovely outdoor seating area with a lovely sheltered feeling. We would definitely return when we are in the area again so I would recommend you try it for yourself. Booking is probably recommended
Mike’s O — Google review
We were accommodated at short notice and staff were good and helpful. My wife had sea bass which she thought was a small portion for the price. My steak pie was fair price overall the food was good as was the service and atmosphere.
Martyn L — Google review
Ate here after talking to someone in our B&B and was told they served good fish and seafood dishes we decided to give it a try. We booked a table just to be sure and as it was a nice evening decided to eat outside. The food was excellent we had salmon gravlax to start with seabass dauphinoise potato in a bisque and I had the seafood special. Service was good, water was constantly replenished without asking The man who served us I believe is the owner has a bit of a nonchalant demeanor but dont let that put you off Would definitely recommend if you like fish and sea food, we came to the New Forest to try a couple of restaurants should just have eaten here more often and saved a shed load of money

Another fabulous visit to this great pub. Came for lunch with friends and their dog. Fantastic selection of food from both the lunch and specials menu. All our food was piping hot and delicious. The spinach and courgette pakora starters were absolutely divine. The staff were really attentive and friendly. Thank you to all.
Julie — Google review
Great restaurant. Lovely food and staff. The warm pork scratching to start were fabulous, and came with a lovely spicy apple sauce. I had the fish stew for my main which was excellent. My sister had the crab, which she said was lovely. Then we had cheese for dessert, which was great! Good choice of wines. I would go back!!
Isobel W — Google review
Me and my husband ordered the prawn cocktail. It was very disappointing such a simple dish made with so much either paprika or cayenne pepper that you could taste the prawns. Then I had the white bait very average My husband had the smoked salmon again very disappointing the horseradish over powered the salmon. There’s no need to ruin decent fresh food.

Nestled in the heart of Lymington, Ciao Belli is a charming Italian restaurant that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. With its inviting atmosphere and an extensive menu, it offers a delightful array of dishes ranging from succulent steaks to fresh seafood salads and classic veal Milanese. The culinary experience here is truly authentic, showcasing the rich flavors of Italy complemented by an impressive selection of wines.
This is the best Italy food that I’ve tried in England so far, the other restaurants who claimed Italian has never satisfied us. I’m definitely recommending this to my friends. Nice restaurant in a peaceful town. Tables are small but seats are spacious.

Ciao belli is a charming, intimate restaurant. The food is delicious and mouthwatering. The waiter is very attentive to your needs. We have been to this restaurant a few times and i forget to take pictures but this time I remembered. This place is superb and would recommend a visit.

The pasta was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked spaghetti tossed in a rich, flavorful tomato sauce with generous slices of sausage. The portion size was just right, and the dish was both comforting and satisfying. The staff here were super kind and attentive. Very recommend for visitors visiting Lymington🤩🤩🤩

Today we walked around Lymington and dropped into a wonderful and cozy Italian restaurant. Friendly staff, good prices and very delicious food, the chef won my heart. I recommend, definitely visit.

Ciao Belli is a cozy and very pleasant place with an Italian atmosphere. The coffee is delicious and aromatic - it's clear that they really care about quality here. The pastries are delicious, with a crispy crust, perfect for coffee. The place is small, but stylish and comfortable - great for both conversations and a quiet break alone. The staff is friendly, the service is fast and attentive. I will definitely come back again!

A Cozy Breakfast Gem in Town! I stopped by Ciao Belli for breakfast and was genuinely impressed. The scrambled eggs were light, fluffy, and flavorful — exactly how they should be! My coffee was strong and smooth, served hot and just right. The staff were lovely and attentive, and the ambiance was calm and inviting. If you’re looking for a relaxed spot to enjoy a high-quality breakfast, this place is a must-visit!

I stumbled upon Ciao Belli Cafe for breakfast, and I’m so glad I did. The scrambled eggs were hands-down the best I’ve had in ages — soft, buttery, and cooked to perfection. The coffee was just as impressive. The whole place has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates good food made with care.

I don't know anything as they closed the kitchen at 2 pm despite it being written they are closing at 3 pm. 1.30pm party of 3 were turned down on a busy sunny Saturday. It's good on the opposite corner of the street was a pub serving food ALL DAY.

The Mayflower Theatre, established in 1928, is a prominent cultural hub in the South of England. It has showcased a wide array of performances including musicals, opera, ballet, and comedy shows. The theatre's rich history includes hosting iconic bands like The Beatles and The Hollys. Housed in a charming grade two listed building, the theatre offers an enchanting setting for an entertaining evening suitable for all ages.
About Ghost Musical The musical Ghost is a spectacular adaptation of the classic 90s film, successfully bringing all the emotion and magic of the original story to the stage. One of the production's greatest highlights is the special effects, which amaze the audience by bringing iconic scenes to life, such as ghosts passing through walls. The set design also deserves high praise, as it is dynamic and well-planned, allowing for quick scene changes without compromising the flow of the narrative. The transition between scenes happens naturally and harmoniously, providing complete immersion in the plot. Furthermore, the engaging soundtrack enhances the emotional atmosphere of the show, making each moment even more remarkable. The actors' performances are another strong point of the production. The lead couple has convincing chemistry, making the audience connect with and be moved by their story. Special mention should also be made of the supporting characters, who bring energy and humor to the show, ensuring a balance between drama and good laughs. The adaptation of the story for the theater was done intelligently. The scenes were well-adjusted for the stage. However, one negative aspect worth mentioning is the portrayal of the main character's murderer as Latin American. This detail may reinforce negative stereotypes and fuel prejudice against immigrants, which is an unfortunate choice in a society that already faces challenges related to discrimination. Despite this drawback, Ghost is an emotional and technically impressive musical that is well worth watching.
Mauricio C — Google review
I've now seen 2 shows at the Mayflower theatre and I've been very impressed! Both views, although different, have been unrestricted and have given a good view of the stage. There is always a good selection of shows here and it is a good distance from the train station and a couple of car parks
Zoe B — Google review
Theatre is as good as any in New York or Toronto. Sightlines were good. Nice feature was rental opera glasses at the seats for a pound. Production was high quality including many complex aerial performances and nice sets. Highly recommended
Walter R — Google review
We travelled down to Southampton to attend a recording of ‘Sorry, I haven’t a Clue, last night at The Mayflower Theatre and had a brilliant evening. As expected, the show was very funny….but I was most impressed with the theatre itself. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the theatre is beautiful, and the prices of the refreshments was so reasonable. There’s no need to try to smuggle sweets in when they sell two bags for £6. The lovely coffee was £3, so cheaper than my local coffee shop. I wish I was local….. I’d be here every week. Thank you all so much for a fabulous evening.

Fabulous local venue. Easily accessible by public transport or if you prefer to drive there is a huge multi story on the next street. Beautiful old theatre with a number of bars so the queues don't get too long!
Jo D — Google review
First time at the mayflower, lovely old theatre , staff were really nice too. However the security who did the bag search was very brusque, he barked at me "bag search" as I'm older and the traffic was busy I didn't quite hear. He then barked again , just a suggestion but a more pleasant attitude would be good. The only thing I struggled with was the toilets , old building very small toilets but that can't be helped . The production of mama mia was brilliant can highly recommend it. Would have given 5 stars apart from the security person

Stunning food with a brilliant atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get a window seat and it was so lovely to eat very good food with the harbour view and sunset . Staff were so friendly and attentive and we have been recommending the Haven to any friends who might visit the area!

Terrible experience – avoid this place. My wife and my son had a full glass of red wine spilled on them by the waitress. The manager’s only response? To offer the wine for free. Over £300 worth of clothes were ruined, and there was not even a proper apology or compensation. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. We won’t be coming back – and I suggest you don’t either. EDIT : Their public response is as ridiculous as it is dishonest — claiming they have CCTV proving it was me, when it was clearly their own staff’s mistake. No apology, just denial.
Boris D — Google review
Absolutely excellent - the food was stunning, our party the salmon rilette, the Haven Salmon and fish and chips. Service was great and we sat outside with the heaters. A perfect lunch.

We walked from Milford on Sea to the Haven and back a total of 13 miles of beautiful scenery. Well worth the trip.

Great food. We asked for a different table as ended up very close to a wall. And this place has great views so you want to have a look at the 360 views. But they would not budge. Our anniversary and plenty of available tables but still wasn't possible by them. Customer service guys, how can we spread the word and tell people to go there if you cant adjust your words and say well actually i can move you here. It's an issue.
Hina M — Google review
We stopped here for a morning coffee (and cake) when we were walking along the coast. Coffee was good and the tray bakes were great! The restaurant was busy but there were plenty of staff to keep things moving. There is a limited amount of outside seating. I guess access could be an issue as the restaurant is on the first floor (up a staircase). Dog friendly!
Paul O — Google review
We've been lunching at The Haven for almost 20 years. We've left many glowing reviews over the years due to quality of the food, location, service & atmosphere. However our last few visits have left us very disappointed. After one visit we were so disappointed with quality & portion size I emailed the manageress to express our feelings rather than posting a negative review I got a very defensive, rather rude reply telling me I didn't know what I was talking about in not so many words. We had lunch there yesterday, the portion size was at least half what it was only a few years ago. When I queried it I was told it was about the same as it was......rubbish. We were not offered water, we were not asked if everything was OK until they cleared the table. The restaurant needs a front of house manager to greet & welcome customers. Someone with a real presence who stands out as a leader. The staff who welcome you are all pleasant but they need guidance & the customers need strong positive welcome. Location is amazing & it fits perfectly with a visit to the market followed by lunch at the Haven then a couple more visits while we're in Lymington. Very disappointed & won't be back anytime soon unfortunately

Verveine Fishmarket Restaurant is a relaxed and cordial eatery that offers imaginative, modern dishes with a focus on fresh fish. Chef David Wykes creates amazing creations based on the day's catch, providing a thoughtful and creative dining experience in an informal atmosphere. The restaurant also operates as a fishmonger shop during the day, offering wonderful fresh seafood for those looking to prepare a delicious meal at home.
A wonderful experience. The atmosphere was buzzing yet calm, and the food was really special. The staff were super attentive, and the owner, who is also the chef, was extremely passionate, which came across in the food. We opted for the 6 courses @ £85 pp and loved every single one. We decided against the wine package and ordered a bottle instead, which was lovely. Would definitely visit again.

I have only given them a 5 star review simply because there wasn't any more stars available. We enjoyed everything from the moment we walked in. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the chefs coming round to serve was a nice touch. The food was exceptional. We went for the 6 course lunch. Though busy, we didn't feel rushed, and each table got the same level of high service. It's quite telling when all the overhead conversations are about the food. This is definitely a must visit/experience.

Truly amazing! A special journey in textures, colours and flavours blended expertly to create a very memorable meal. I did opt for fish only 8 course menu and did not have the wine pairings although am sure they would compliment and add to the experience. Excellent!

Superb fine dining lunch with more than a nod to Japanese cuisine. Absolutely delighted that we were able to get a table and to taste such delicious dishes. Everything was superb, thank you. P.S. Astonished to find out later that our accommodation host was responsible for the stunning Resin tables! Each one a piece of stunning artwork.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Delicious innovative dishes in a lovely relaxed setting. My friend and I treated ourselves to the 8 course tasting menu which was actually more like 11 courses. The seafood is beautifully prepared and presented with many innovative touches. The flavours are unique and the ingredients are of the highest quality. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying the different seasonal fare. A highly creative team and the front of house staff are relaxed, welcoming and friendly. Fabulous experience. Cannot think of a better pick me up or treat to myself.

First time I have ever been and I would highly recommend to any sea food lover. The food is fresh, you don't know what your going to get till it is served and the waitress or waiter tells you. They leave you to enjoy your food and don't keep asking if you need more drinks. They only have a few tables which allows the chef to be able to cook to a much higher standard, which you taste in the outstanding dishes he prepare for you. We are already planing our next visit.

Such a fabulous find. Staff, service, venue, food are all amazing. We went on first night of holiday and loved it so much we went back. Food is more than pub grub but prices are very much within normal budget. Lots of choice in beers and cocktail list. We loved it

Dropped in for lunch as had driven past many times and wanted to try it. A good road side setting though when busy I expect the car parking is not sufficient. Very attractive inside with seating in the bar and a separate restaurant. We chose to eat in the bar area. A nice selection of dishes on the menu available for lunch plus a couple of specials. The Beef lasagne was good as was my halloumi baguette; nicely presented food. The Koru IPA beer they produce was excellent, light and hoppy; we liked it so much took some away in cans with us. An excellent find and we will certainly return.

Made our first trip here on Saturday for dinner. The food, atmosphere and staff of the Monkey Brewhouse are fantastic. And the beer was pretty damn good too. We will definitely be coming back.
Miranda R — Google review
Great selection of beers from their own microbrewery. Lovely sounding menu (we didn't eat here). Good sized car park, nice beer patio. Friendly bar and brewery staff.
Tim W — Google review
Lovely place to visit as the food and beers were good value. Not such a good place to stay, as there's no double glazing so the room is cold and you are open to the sound of the drinkers beneath your window until well past 11. Still, the staff were friendly and helpful, giving a chance to sample the beer before buying, so would definitely stop for a meal next time I am passing.

Dropped in for lunch and a pint and couldn't have been happier. Great food and good beer. Caters for gluten-free too. And a special mention for the urinals!

Lovely friendly brewhouse/pub/food and live music venue. We popped in last Friday night and enjoyed good friendly service from all the staff and sat in the bear garden listening to the live music and enjoying very good quality burgers and fries. I would recommend the monkey brewhouse to anyone visiting Lymington, it's just on the edge of town as you come in from the North of town.

Probably the best pub in the New Forest. Consistently good food, friendly staff and delicious fairly priced beer and ale. Live music is great too.

The Chequers Inn is a charming 16th-century pub and restaurant located in Lymington, serving as the clubhouse for the Lymington Mariners. With its cozy atmosphere and selection of real ales and wines, it offers a delightful experience. Situated near historic salt marshes, it holds nautical significance and welcomes walkers along the ancient maritime pathway. The inn also boasts a walled garden and an a la carte menu featuring seasonal produce.
A lovely pub, lovely people and lovely food. We had a warm welcome. The food portion sizes were huge and we really enjoyed it. Big burger and chips and the liver and bacon was great. The Flack double drop is a nice pint but I tried the Flack IPA for the first time, which is a nice traditional British style IPA. Definitely worth a visit. Oh, and when you ask for a coffee, you get brought a cafetiere of coffee, not the Spanish Inquisition (The Chequers Inn should get a ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ review for just for this alone 😜)

Recommend, good home cooked food reasonable priced. We went to chequers on Friday night, warned about the KOK which sounded fun. 8 of us were put in a side room which was perfect for us to have a great night. Sea bass excellent quality and price. Fish pie enormous. Great value and good service.

Lovely cosy place, nice atmosphere, front and back garden, wide selection of drinks, and various Sunday roast options including veggies. As it was a Sunday we had the Sunday menu options only to comment on. The portions were really generous and the service was quick and helpful, clean toilets and not very expensive per person £25 for starter+main+drinks. Nice afternoon spent in a lovely place

This is a real pub, totally authentic and with an atmosphere all of its own. There is a good range of drinks for just about all tastes. The food is great with a good choice of fish, meat and vegetarian options. Portions are generous. This place is well worth seeking out as pubs like this are hard to find these days.

We used to come to this pub all the time when visiting relatives. We came for Sunday lunch this week and the food and service were first class. The staff were attentive without being obtrusive and the visit reminded us of what we'd been missing. As we're staying in the area for a few months we'll definitely visit again!

Great find amongst the marshes and trees outside of Lymington. Lovely beer garden and marquee (s) . The staff were very friendly. We had the ploughman’s, which was nicely served , tasty and plenty of food. Prices very competitive.

Just had lunch here with my sister and her family including a 6 and 2 year old. Lovely pub with lots of character. A great outdoor undercover seating area with big screen TV and patio heaters. Food portions were very adequate and all in our party enjoyed their meals. I went for the battered cod and chips and certainly won’t need to be eating dinner tonight. If you’re in the area it’s well worth a visit. It’s off season at the moment however it was still pretty busy. We didn’t book ahead and were fortunate to get a table. Probably best to book ahead if going during busier times.

Prezzo Italian Restaurant Lymington is a popular casual chain known for its stone-baked pizzas, classic pastas, and a separate kids' menu. With over 150 branches across the country, it has become a fixture on the high street. The restaurant offers great value for money with attentive staff and excellent food quality. Despite some negative feedback about booking issues, others have praised the delightful location in the heart of the high street and highlighted exceptional service from staff members like Tilly.
Came here for a Saturday lunch, the large restaurant was fairly quiet. A Good menu with lots of choice. The pizza was good. The dessert was amazing, Lemon meringue pie 😀 service here was efficient. Overall very impressed with my first visit to a Prezzo.

Been a while since I’ve been into a Prezzo so went out for a dinner, the price was still as decent as I remembered and that was nice, the food was great and the atmosphere was nice went around 6:30pm and wasn’t to busy so could talk easily. Our server Oscar was a star very friendly and came round quickly getting us whatever we needed all in all it was a great experience and hope to have it continue like this

Arrived for lunch and was seated straight away. The menus were clearly explained. Drinks and Olives arrived promptly. Then 10 minutes later, mains arrived. Roasted Duck Bolognese Pappardelle was amazing. As was the Chicken, Mushroom & Garlic Rigatoni. Both very generous portions. I can highly recommend both and the Caramel Macchiato Sundae. Try it with the Espresso shot and Baileys shot - heaven. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Surroundings were clean and well presented.

Beautiful. Came over from Spain at the weekend to take my Nan here for her birthday. Spoke to the chef before going that week and asked what would be on the menu and he said depending on the day as we get everything locally, which I thought was fab and even better. Made the booking on Saturday and I must say we both really enjoy it, the seating are atmosphere, staff and the food was amazing and good portion and beautifully presented. I will be sure going back again when I return to the UK. Thank you so much.

Looked after us especially with our 1 year old. The food was stunning, must try the beetroot with horseradish sorbet with goat cheese. The maind was incredible, the fish and ships and roast chicken. Highly recommended, will definitely come back.

Will return when next over this way! Highly recommended...

Fantastic lunch spot. The service was spot-on. Attentive but not intrusive. Very warm and welcoming without over-doing it. And the food, oh my. The food was out of this world. The most tender chicken, the dept of flavours on the gravy, the sweetness of the cabbage… just phenomenal! My wife had the steak w/ asparagus and garlic butter and it did not disappoint. The portion size is veery generous and all the garnishes and fixings were delicious. We’ve had worse in proper steakhouses local to us. The fact that only the best local produce is being served and all the love and passion invested really shows. Do yourself a favour and have a look at the wine on offer and ask for advice if you need to. Both great new world and old world options that will cater for everyone. This was a party of 4 that just walked up without booking and the team said yes with a big smile. Thank you all for our great lunch. Memories were made around that table.

Best meal in a long time. The fish and chips could have been the best I have had. My wife had the pork chop with mash and fried egg. Both sound simple but were a real treat. Really worth a visit. I would highly recommend it.

A Gem Of A Find Whilst on holiday in the area, I booked a table for my wife’s birthday, having read great reviews for High Street Kitchen. We were greeted by Maddy, who sat us at a very nice table and was attentive in the right measure. We both chose the Sirloin steak and had cauliflower cheese as an extra dish. Our meals were served personally by the chef Gavin and Maddie, which was a lovely touch as diners don’t usually get the opportunity to meet the chef. The steaks were of very good quality & sizeable, cooked to perfection and so full of flavour. As we couldn’t decide which dessert to have, Gavin suggested a trio, which was too good an opportunity to turn down. Yet again, everything was perfect and special mention for the excellent banana soufflé made by son Adam. All in all we had a wonderful and memorable night and hats off to Gavin, Adam and Maddie. I just wish we lived nearer! Would certainly recommend as ‘farm to fork’ food with quality ingredients as you’d expect.

So happy that Lymington has this fresh and exciting restaurant. The chef clearly values food taste and texture and all the dishes had layers of flavour. The steak was so completely divine I cannot stop raving about it to friends. The fish was fresh and excellent. A very sensory friendly restaurant as the music was not too loud, the ambience was nice and the restaurant was not bustling. The staff where so sweet ,professional and knowledgeable. The wine was excellent and there various options with different tasting notes which satisfied even for the fussiest. It does not feel like another chain samey restaurant it is nice to know that a place like this is a local option for dining out. My one complaint is that the chips were not very nice and I could not finish them and the side salad could have been more exciting.

The Angel & Blue Pig is a charming gastropub and boutique hotel located in Lymington. The hotel offers 14 cozy rooms with country-chic decor, featuring amenities such as super-king-size beds, Nespresso coffee machines, and smart televisions. Some rooms even come with welcome hampers filled with homemade treats.
We stayed at the Angel and Blue Pig for the weekend for 3 nights for our anniversary, and our stay was lovely. We booked a Double Deluxe room, which was really cosy, and the bed was so comfortable I had the best night's sleep. Our room faced onto the High Street, so I thought it might be noisy, but other than the doves roosting on the roof and the refuse collection early one morning, it was really quiet. Not sure how old the building is, but due to its age, the corridors and floors are creaky, and the rooms have imperfections and wonky door frames, but this all adds to the quirky atmosphere. You can feel the history in the building. We booked a table for Sunday lunch, which was very good. My partner ordered the vegetarian option, but this had sold out, so he was offered vegetarian sausages instead, which was fine. It must be a popular option, as this was only 2.15pm. We would most certainly stay here again.

Honestly the best roast I’ve ever had. The meat was very tender and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The food arrived quickly and the service was amazing. All the waiters came often to check up on us and clean up our table. I definitely would visit again if I’m in the area!

Visited as a pub at lunchtime, loved it, so booked a table for dinner for acoustic night. Service was very slow, due to staff v customer ratio, but I can't fault them when you had them. Very friendly and welcoming. Lamb rump and mini lamb pie was delicious and sitting next to the folk music gathering was great.

The venue has an olde worlde feel about it and a cosy atmosphere. There is outside seating also. There is a range of food on the menu and a well stocked bar. The venue is open for breakfast and has a good set menu available at various times. It is a good local music venue and has part of the premises dedicated to the music gigs. Really great place. Nestled in the charming town of Lymington, Rivaaz Lymington stands out as a beacon for Indian cuisine enthusiasts. With its sleek and modern decor, this restaurant offers a delightful blend of classic favorites and lesser-known dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. The culinary prowess here is evident, especially with their renowned tandoor dishes that have earned them multiple accolades over the years.
We were looking for a nice restaurant and we found it. We had dinner on a Monday bank holiday and we had no problem having a table even though we didn't book in advance. After we sat down the restaurant was full so we were very lucky. The service was very good all the waitress knew what they were doing and it was awesome. The food it was very nice, we had their special dish of lamb and it was delicious. The menus are on the table so it is easy to order if you wish any other favourite dishes as the food is very nice and the portions are generous. The ambience is calm and cosy that makes you feel good. I just can recommend this restaurant if you are in Lymington.

What an amazing experience . Lovely decor , really friendly & attentive staff. It was our best Indian dining experience to date! We also got a cake for my other half's bday which was a nice surprise. Don't hesitate to come here! I had railway lamb which was delicious and tender and partner had a korma /madras hot. We also tried tandoori mixed started which was amazing!! We shall return when next in the area thanks guys! :) Kat & Luke (Fareham)

I ate here with my parents a few days ago and the first thing we noticed were the large number of awards on the walls for best restaurant. When we ordered these were more than vindicated and this is honestly the best curry I've ever had. My only regret is I don't live nearby so I can't regularly come back! The staff were friendly, service was very quick, and I can't say enough about how delicious all of the food was. I can't recommend enough!

Beautiful décor and food was lovely (a little less spicy I would say than some of the equivalent dishes in West London). They served all 13 of us with ease and speed. Very helpful with the booking a week beforehand (we understandably put down a deposit which was taken off the bill). Ohh and they accept Amex

The food and service was superb. We went here during our visit to the New forest. I absolutely loved the Lamb Fire cracker and the spice was spot on! Nice and tender meat and plenty of it (not left short). My partner had the Chicken Dhansak and again she said it was great. Many Indian restaurants out there but I got to say this one was outstanding and I wish it was my local.

Very busy place and obviously popular with the locals. Food good but two of our King Prawn dishes were slightly over cooked, which is a pity. Great flavours and sensibly priced drinks. Main gripe? Cheap frozen deserts AVOID!! Come on Rivaaz, you're better than this.

Certainly not cheap but this is one restaurant where you 100% get what you pay for — and then some. To start with, service was incredible. The guys who waited on me were attentive, had great suggestions on what to order and were quick to clear the dishes when done. Food was great. A lot of traditional Indian dishes while also offering some original fusion recipes. Overall this is restaurant that stands out among the rest and is worth the money if you’re looking for nice meal and night out.

Came for dinner as recommended by a friend who lives in Lymington. Very tasty and flavoursome food in a clean and beautifully decorated restaurant. Staff was pleasant and helpful despite being very busy! I had the railway lamb which was delicious. Generous chunks of tender lamb with a bit of spice. My friends had the Chicken tikka and a chicken korma which they loved. I would definitely visit again and also recommend. Fantastic spoons. Delicious food. Hot drinks are good quality. I had a flat white and it was as good as any top notch brand. Breakfast was hot, generous, filling, and well presented 🎁 😋 👌. Food was good. Steak was tasty but tough. Cost was very reasonable at under £17 for steak, chips, peppercorn sauce, mushroom peas and tomato, and that also included a pint of beer.

We do love a Wetherspoon's, especially when travelling. We've been to this one before and it's nice enough. This time it was a bit messy and the food took almost 30 minutes to arrive. When it did there was no apology at all . However it was fresh and hot.

Great value and essential local service especially on a budget. Was a staple in my younger days when alcohol was king. Now I find it the perfect option to feed the whole family without forking out hundreds of pounds. This is more important now than ever. The food is good quality with deals on specific days as all weatherspoon's fans will be familiar with. If you want to take the kids and family out without disturbing the local plush folk then look no further. There is already an oversupply glut of chic venues choking the town so you will be safe here. The garden is fair size with smoking and sheltered seating. Staff are friendly and venue covid safe, well done team.

We have been to The Ship Inn numerous times over the years - it's one of those pubs that you wouldn't realise it was there unless your going past it. Food has always been pretty good, and the staff always seem cheerful and pleasant. It's a little rough around the edges in places, eg. The function room feels like your going through the serviceman entrance in the car park!

We had a wonderful experience at The Ship, after being turned away at two other pubs due to being full. We headed over to the Ship, although it was late on a Wednesday we were welcomed and quickly seated. We had the friendliest person serve, who went above and beyond and had a great sense of humour and customer service. I had the ship burger as did my daughter, the tastiest homemade and cooked burger I’ve ever had. Be warned the portions are large. The deserts looked so good that we couldn’t not try them and they were delicious too! Would highly recommend.

The Sunday roast was incredible, there was so much meat, a massive Yorkshire and a platter of veggies. The gravy tasted like it was made of lamb drippings and it has some mint sauce mixed it. A perfect meal! The service was also very quick but I may have caught them in a quiet hour at 3pm.

Disappointing. I left hungry after spending £23 on food. The room was cold with many family members putting their coats back on mid-meal. For the main course I chose the southern chicken stack (bun, tomato slice, pineapple ring & chicken). Apart from the steak, this seemed to be the most expensive item on the menu, so I was looking forward to a feast. It had a surprisingly small piece of breaded chicken in the stack, and a scattering of tepid chips that can only be described as meagre. My plate arrived first, but the last meal was *very* slow to arrive, and by the time the staff had served all twelve in our group my chips were cold. Still hungry, I opted for the "Chewy Chocolate Brownie" dessert - something that sounded like a proper mouthful. Sadly that's all it was, a single mouthful of brownie for six quid. When I asked where the rest of it was I was told (quite seriously) "that's all we've got at the moment". I drove an hour each way for a Christmas meal with the family, spent £23 on food, and arrived home more hungry than when I left!

We have eaten twice here now and it is becoming a go to place. A little out of the way as it is at the top of the high street and around the corner. However the garden, interior, quality and value of the food and drink offerings are fabulous.
Matthew L — Google review
Friendly welcoming staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately they had run out of the lamb shank roast option. As can be seen by the photos portions are generous. We had the Mac and Cheese bites for starter with roast beef and scampi for mains. We will be visiting again before our holiday ends.

Best value food in England, probably. We just ate a massive Sunday roast for less than £13. Prices from last decade, and it's lovely in here, with beams and cosy booths and pillars like an old ship, but it's empty! Perhaps people don't walk up the end of the high street and around the corner. There's no other explanation. And walk up here you should!!

Went for a leaving do, easy to deal with, nice venue, good prices, bread and butter pudding was amazing!
Luke A — Google review
Great, good service, friendly and welcoming, good value food, the burgers were great value, good portions and very tasty. Others in the group had the gammon and chicken, all seemed pleased and the food looked good. Visited as part of a group of 12 (prearranged) at lunchtime.
S S — Google review
Popped into this very dog friendly pub for Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint! Great value too at just £12 for the standard roast chicken, beef, pork etc. An extra £3.50 for a generous portion of cauliflower cheese unfortunately left no room for desserts so that will have to be one for next time. The menu has a good spread of food and a number of daily specials across Starters, Mains and Dessert. They also sell a variety of doggie treats for your four legged furry friends! A little off the main strip in Lymington but well worth a visit!

East End Arms is a charming rural pub in Lymington, England, offering comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi and cooked breakfast. The establishment also features a stylish restaurant serving hearty country dishes. Owned by former Dire Straits bassist John Ilsley since 1990, the pub has a traditional old side favored by locals and an upmarket restaurant run by renowned chef Mark Davidson.
Could not have wished for a better stay at the East End Arms, I was made to feel at home. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the accommodation was perfect with everything that I wanted. The food was very good and they have a good choice of all courses, I have now been here four years on the trot and already looking forward to making it five next year, thank you all.

The room was lovely, clean with everything you need. Looked out on the road which wasn't a problem for us but it is a pub so can hear people sitting outside until about 11. Staff lovely and helpful. Lovely location. Disappointed with the dinner so only ate there once

Cracking pub. Mostly locals in the bar. Happy to chat. Decent restaurant with reasonable choice. Wife's steak was perfect (in her top2 ever). My meal a bit mher. Not pub grub and not pub grub prices. But on the whole worth it.

We have just completed a stay at the very lovely East End Arms. It is wonderful place to stay. We did have a couple of problems which were out of everyone's control but the joy of excellent customer service is how these things are handled. The staff were calm, attentive and absolutely went over and above to help us and to ensure we were happy and comfortable. In fact it was the best customer service I have encountered when things just haven't gone as they should. You should be very proud. Thank you

Good was quite over salted. They didn’t have all items available on menu. Staff were forgetful. Aside from that it’s a lovely pub, great location and cute terrace. I’d still come back!

The best fish n chips I have ever had! Delicious. Lovely environment. Delicious food. Excellent staff. Professional, but friendly. I'll be back there again.

We were visiting this area from the south east and having spent the afternoon on the beach deciding to walk over a mile to go to the East End. We were in desperate need of something to eat, anything would have done, and arriving 15 minutes before the kitchen close we thought we could at least order some chip. But no! We were greeted by a very unfriendly bartender that only offered us her pearls of wisdom, by saying get a cab to Limington or walk an hour to the nearest pub. I’m glad we are more friendly where we live. Obviously living in the new forest doesn’t give you good customer service, or you take so much money you can turn away trade. We won’t be back!

Lounges Of Lymington is a charming establishment in Lymington, England, offering a welcoming atmosphere and excellent customer service. It's an ideal spot to socialize, work, or simply unwind while enjoying quality food and drinks. Whether you're strolling with your dog or exploring the beach, this place offers a perfect setting to relax with a cup of tea and delectable cakes.
A lovely little quirky coffee shop. The sign in the window said, ‘Crab sandwich’ and that drew us in as I love these. We liked the seating, the decor and the homely feel. The woman at the counter could have been more welcoming but this was more than made up for, by the other two women waitresses. The crab sandwich was very good. The coffee was pricey at £5.75 for a large coffee. Overall, a good experience and we’d go back.

Gorgeous little cafe on the main high street in Lymington! We sat in a cozy corner by the door and each had a coffee. The most amazing Malteaser slice and goats cheese scone went down a treat! This cafe also does lunch and is dog friendly.

This is a lovely throwback to a gone age. Small, local, friendly, home made and a little gem. Don’t expect an immaculate sterile interior of a Starbucks, there are no straight edges, it’s a very old building. .

Just love Lounges. Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. They always go out of their way to meet specific dietary requests and changes to the menu. Huge menu of milkshakes too and tasty coffee and cakes. The only thing it lacks really is vegan options. We are frequent visitors and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

It is a great cafe by the high street in Lymington, where you find tables at the entrance, then the counter with lots of beautiful cakes, more tables and if you keep going through you find the kitchen and the back garden outside. It is very cosy and the staff very nice. As we went on Saturday the tables were full but we were lucky to find one. It is a great place for coffee and a bite.

What a find. Great service with knowledgeable team around allergens. As a toddler with gluten, Dairy and egg allergens, she was able to enjoy a lunch with us, and then to her very happy surprise a gluten free, vegan chocolate cake to enjoy. Thank you so much to all the team for some great food and excellent service

Super cute little cafe off the High Street, lovely ambience. I had a cappuccino and a tomato, mozzarella and basil pesto panini with coleslaw. My husband had the full English breakfast. Very tasty food! The panini need some salt and pepper (I like my tomatoes to be seasoned within a sandwich), but was otherwise great!

Nestled in a picturesque setting, The Gun Inn offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with roaring log fires and charming decor. The menu features an array of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including Solent skate wing and New Forest wild mushrooms on sourdough. The pub also boasts a superb wine list and delectable desserts, along with the promotion of local beer.
Fantastic pub. Very tasty food. The best chips I've ever eaten Great atmosphere with very personable staff. Very large beer garden with an outside bar to purchase drinks and order food. Outside area has massive covered tented area, which is good for hot weather also has heating for colder days. They have live music events too The pub was very clean. We will be back Highly recommend this pub

Lovely roast this afternoon. The pub was busy, but they managed to give us a table 😀 food was perfect with plenty of well roasted potatoes. 100% worth the 90miles drive. Especially as the key is right outside for a wonderful walk afterwards
Sue C — Google review
This is the second time to have lunch at the great pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu has a number of locally sourced produce and local beers including the excellent and very local Sea Wall; a pint or two of which is highly recommended. It was good to see a few vegetarian options on the menu sound with locally caught fish shed farmed produce. My only complaint is the lack of custard on the dessert menu and their running out of Yorkshire pudding for the lamb roast 🫣; minor points I know. The buffing itself is delightfully quaint and in close proximity to the coastal path.
Mal J — Google review
Exceptional! The staff were lovely, beer was good and the food was one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in ages. Mackerel cooked perfectly, with a super tasty salsa and hot crispy fries. Way exceeded expectations for a pub. Will definitely return.

I would say this is my favourite pub for lunch in the New Forest. The food and service is great (special shout out to Libby!) and the garden is really pleasant - nicely sheltered, plenty of space between the tables, bar outside for ordering. Location is perfect for a walk or cycle from Lymington or Milford on Sea. Highly recommended.

The Gun Inn is always a fantastic spot for a drink in the sunshine. They've got a beautiful back garden, and it's the perfect end (or start) to lots of great walks to Lymington and beyond. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. I didn't have anything to eat, but the food I saw looked fantastic, so I'll definitely be back to sample that!

This pub has one of the most beautiful beer gardens I've ever seen! It's absolutely worth a visit, and I always drink Landlord, but this particular pint was unusually tasty. New keg? Clean lines? Don't know, but The Gun is full of cool things to look at, and they've clearly put a lot of thought and energy into the surroundings. Very enjoyable. Super dog friendly!

Wonderful menu of healthy options as well as delicious bakery items and hot food. Highly recommend the granola bowl - looks beautiful and tastes great. Generous portions! Dog friendly also. We had our two pups dine with us indoors. Quite small so there are limited tables indoors but we were able to sit as a table of six as we arrived at opening.

The ice cream sundaes are amazing and such good value for money. Very generous with the flavourings. Had to go back the week after for another one 😁 The place is very small so you order and wait outside for them to bring your order to you.

This is the best place in Lymington for breakfast, their bfast sandwiches and granola bowls are amazing. BUT - there is a real rude and horrible woman working in there (she may be a manager) and her attitude simply stinks. The young people working there are lovely but she's not at all. They really need to focus more on their customer service skills. At least 2 other people walked out saying exactly the same thing so this wasn't just my opinion either.

Never had a bad experience here. The club bagel is INCREDIBLE as are the iced matchas. There's usually a queue to order but it moves quickly and the food and drink are worth it, always super fresh 🙌🏼

We stopped here for a bite to eat and a drink. A great menu with a range of delicious cakes and bakes at the counter. We had the Chicken, Cheddar and Chilli Jam toastie, Avocado & Halloumi Bagel, and a Mango Lassi. The food was yummy and the Lassi was delicious. Service was fairly slow but due to high demand and staff were busy and apologetic for the wait. Outdoor seating ideal on a nice day and for us 🐕 walkers.

The Cellar Tasting House & Wine Merchant is a delightful destination for wine enthusiasts and casual sippers alike. With an impressive selection of wines available by the glass, guests can embark on a global tasting journey guided by knowledgeable sommeliers. The venue hosts themed monthly wine dinners, informal tastings, and even offers tours of their wine cellar. For those looking to take home a piece of the experience, specially curated wine boxes and unique tasting glasses designed with Lehmann glass are available.
A real gem! We walked past The Cellar many times during our stay in Lymington but left it to the last day to properly check it out and we were not disappointed! You can pop in and buy a bottle (or two) or elect to buy a bottle and drink it in situ for a small corkage charge. We chose a relatively new red wine from Spain on the recommendation of the owner and it was delicious. We also had a mixed cheese and meat board which contained some of the most delicious cheeses I have had in a long time (try the Shepherds Purse blue cheese from Yorkshire...just divine!). Don't worry if you are not a wine fan as The Cellar has a large selection of gins and other spirits too! This is a place we will 100% return to when we are next in Lymington.

We visited during the day to view the wines but found they did wine tasting, Gin tasting and Rum tasting as well as cheese boards paired to suit the wines and meat boards, so we revisited in the evening. The man who ran it was fantastic and made the whole experience, not cheap, but well worth it. We also sampled some sherry, needless to say we left with that. Thank you a lovely evening

Friends of ours had been before, they thoroughly enjoyed it so recommended we try it when we all met there over the weekend just gone. We were seated on the first floor. Nice table for 4 in the window. Service started off impeccable, drinks flowed like water cascading down a mountain face. We'd been in there for a couple of hours, moods were high - we were engaging with other drinkers - having an all round fabulous time. Then came the kicker - whilst waiting for the little continental waiter to come back upstairs - we decided on our next drinks. When approached, the wife looked over to said waiter and said we'd like to order some more drinks please. To which the condescending continental (4ft tall) waiter barked - well you've had about 20 shots! And walked away explaining he'd be back in 2mins. Well Pedro, that is not the way to treat paying customers. Insulted by the unnecessary comments, we decided to leave paying our £258 bill and headed to the Kings Head. There is no excuse for being rude to paying customers, if there was an issue - there are ways in which to approach these and by your actions you've lost 4 customers. And the word of mouth from us would be, go to the Cellar - but don't enjoy yourself too much.

A must-visit! Hands down the best curry house in Lymington. One of the oldest and most iconic curry spots in the New Forest. The flavours were incredible — I just couldn’t stop until the plate was clean
Sandra V — Google review
We have visited Lal Quilla regularly over the years, however, we were extremely disappointed in our latest visit. We had pre booked a table for 7pm Saturday night and were shown to our table, however we sat there for 20 minutes with no menus, no drinks and just ignored. In the end we walked out as it was obvious we weren't getting any service as the staff rushed by avoiding all eye contact and our attempts to get their attention. The restaurant itself was overly bright and cold, usually it has low lighting and candles so I'm not sure what has changed here, but we will not be visiting again. I emailed the restaurant when we left but have still not heard back from them 24 hours later,

What a fabulous Indian restaurant to go and relaxing curry. Staff are very friendly and service is excellent. Lovely food at a good price. Would thoroughly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visited la Quilla twice recently since it changed hands. I'm pleased to report the food is even better which has made me a very happy man. Had a banging takeaway for three of us. We all agreed that the food was exceptional. Also took friends for a sit down meal and again the food was brilliant. Lovely attentive staff.

Waiters were incompetent, preferring to chat up the female partners than get the order right. Food was average but at least not rushed. Wouldn't recommend the king scampi... over cooked, no texture or taste. Very noisy with groups of older people shouting to be heard

Staying in Lymington for the first time and visited this place on a Friday evening around 9:30pm. Staff were warm and friendly from the outset. Service was efficient and attentive, with staff always looking out to see if you needed anything. Food was tasty, not too heavy (as in similar restaurants), with good portion sizes. Really liked the copper serving bowls. Reading some of the negative reviews about rudeness, I can only imagine that the authors are self-entitled people that you wouldn’t want to spend time with. I had a fantastic experience at The Kings Head! I ordered the mac and cheese and can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had - rich, creamy, and full of flavour. My mum had the scampi light bite and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Despite the pub being busy with lots of reservations, the staff kindly found us a table, which we really appreciated. They also went above and beyond by letting me use a plug to charge my phone, which was such a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was genuinely kind and attentive. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend The Kings Head to anyone in the area!

Went for a meal on Friday evening with family, my wife’s food had no resemblance to that described on the menu, peppered beef salad, she sent it back. No one came to ask if she would like an alternative and no apology, she had to go to the bar to ask for something else. I had the catch of the day, lemon sole on new potatoes, the fish was tiny and the meal tasteless. My son ordered pork belly which although tasty was 50% fat. The seafood starter was good. £100 wasted, we won’t eat here again. Service terrible.

A bit too lard. I chose smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for a brunch one Monday morning in summer. The rather ordinary dish was transformed by the drizzle of butter over the eggs. Did I say drizzle? More like a downpour. The dough, already sour, turned boggy. The service was good, pot of tea was nice. All good value. But the afternoon lay heavily on me, as did the brunch.

The food was lovely, I had the 10oz Ribeye with peppercorn sauce, chips and Halloumi fries as a side, my partner had the Ray wing. The food came out in good time and was fresh and hot. The steak was lovely, cooked rare as was the peppercorn sauce and chips. The Halloumi was nice and soft on in the inside with a lovely sweet dipping sauce. The ray wing was a large portion, and very soft, with potato's and a tomato sauce. My partner said it was really good. We had a pint of Madri and a half pint of Apple juice to drink. All in all a lovely meal and reasonably priced.

The Ship Inn is situated on the quay at Lymington, providing a scenic backdrop for the terrace and creating a very relaxing atmosphere. When the al fresco seating is available, the Inn can clearly cater for large numbers. Being a Friday lunchtime, it was fairly busy, but noise levels (outside) were not excessive. The excellent food arrived in a reasonable time and was well presented and served attentively by staff who were nonetheless unobtrusive. The line-caught cod and chips is to be recommended, as are the Cumberland sausages (see photos). The triple chocolate cookies with a selection of ice creams rounded off a very pleasant meal beautifully. As our desert course seemed to have "fallen off the radar, a brief prompt was given; the situation was rectified immediately and apologetically, with the prompt delivery of our food. For this reason alone I award four not five stars for service. The staff does a great job. Should we find ourselves in Lymington again, we will certainly pay a return by visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. The beers were superb and the atmosphere was vwry relaxing. What is not to like? Monkfish by the sea with a pint of Timothy Taylor.

Excellent food. High end flavours. We came for lunch one day and it was so amazing that we came back for dinner another day. Sophie was an excellent server and took good care of us. The pork and scallops were out of this world with wonderful flavours and perfectly cooked. This is so much more than a tourist pub. Don’t miss this place.

£6.25 for the smallest portion of chips I have ever seen…. No wonder all the tables around us were complaining… what a rip off for cold food, cold calamari, cold and undercooked padrón peppers and a 25 minute wait!?! Time for new management

Lovely breakfast experience, the food was amazing and the service was lovely. You get an amazing view of the ocean and you are close to the beach vibe. The florentine poached eggs were amazing but our fav were the poached eggs with avocado. Everything was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Great coffee as well and great staff. We came back the next day as we enjoyed so much the food

WestBeach offers a truly fabulous dining experience! While their vegan options are a bit limited, the aubergine dish I tried was absolutely delicious easily the best I’ve had there. The service was professional, friendly, and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. Plus, the beautiful seaside atmosphere with stunning views creates the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable meal. I’d love to see more vegan dishes added to the menu in the future, but overall, a fantastic spot that I highly recommend!

Firstly, the food was really delicious, secondly it was quick, and most importantly, we came with four little kids who were sandy, restless and noisy, yet everyone was very friendly and calm about it — thank you for that! They serve fresh fish and freshly squeezed juices. The toilets were a bit dirty, but overall everything was great.

Fresh, delicious seafood right by the beach. Prices are a bit high for Bournemouth, but worth it for the quality. Great service from Kamil – attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. Highly recommend.

We went in for just a drink and ended up staying for dinner. Thai is the second time myself and my colleague have been to this place while in the area for work. Right on the front so you can see the sea and the pier, while watching the world go by. The food is so good always hot, cooked perfectly and served perfectly, the staff are always helpful and chatty. Will definitely be going in there again, highly recommended.

This place used to be good about 10 years ago, went there again to try it as we stopped going after it went downhill. Well, it just continues to drop in quality and service. They have maybe one staff member to serve us and the food was beyond bad, especially for the price. My bacon was barely cooked to the point it just made me heave. Takes ages for the server to come take your order and to take the bill or come to you if you need another drink. Won’t come again.

We had oysters -really good and calmares -chewy and tasteless so its difficult to judge overall. Atmoshere and staff nice, on the beach
G — Google review
Great spot but the food was a bit of a cheat. Got the seafood salad. Absolutely dreadful. So small it was served in the middle of a clam shell. Not so much salad with tortilla but tortilla with a spoon of salad. Like all dishes it was swimming with oil. Straight out of a packet. I don't understand how so many good restaurants go bust but they can charge £14 for this nonsense. The £16 Tuna Capaccio also tiny. No wonder there was no table check. The waiter was probably embarrassed. The sides were generous. Other half enjoyed his trout so added a * but this was also greasy. Excellent spot on the beach. It overlooks a party bar with good vibes but still get sea view

Amazing food in a beautiful setting. We shared the beef and it was melt in your mouth. The new forest raspberry cheesecake was incredibly fluffy and light too. Non alcoholic drink selection very good - Spicy Marg was very good. Would definitely visit again. Was such a treat and the hotel and grounds are stunning

My partner & I came here for our honeymoon dinner celebration. The pig definitely delivered! From entering the building to having our last cocktail, the service was excellent. Can only speak to the restaurant which the setting and decor was beautiful. The food was really nice as well but unfortunately we were either completely forgotten about or simply uncared for. Plenty of waiting around to be noticed or to get someone’s attention, left a sour taste in our mouths for the price point, which is a shame because everything else was lovely.

Koh Thai Tapas is a modern restaurant offering top-notch Thai cuisine in a contemporary setting adorned with carved Buddhas and murals of exotic landscapes. The restaurant provides generous portions and excellent service, with the option of trying out smaller portions of popular appetizers through their Thai Tapas menu. Customers can enjoy a variety of flavors while relishing the ambiance. One satisfied diner praised the delicious Nasi Goreng and perfect Penang curry, expressing their intention to return for more delightful dining experiences.
I had an incredible dining experience at Koh Thai. The food was bursting with authentic flavors—especially the summer spring rolls and my vegetarian Curry, which were perfectly cooked and generously portioned. What made the evening truly special was our waitress, Valery. She was attentive, friendly, and made excellent menu recommendations. If you're looking for delicious Thai food and top-notch service, Koh Thai is a must-visit! I would also recommend the cocktails, they are delicious!

All of the chicken was very chewy as if it had been frozen and reheated and the satay was an odd colour as well as being cold when it arrived, the noodles had a very strange consistency like gluey elastic bands! Really disappointed as Koh Thai used to be one of the best Thai restaurants in the BCP area but I feel it has gone massively downhill, there are alot of better options for Thai food locally.

The George is a charming riverside gastropub located in the heart of Fordingbridge, offering picturesque views of the town's iconic Great Bridge. This historic inn, dating back to the 18th century, serves as a traditional yet modern dining destination with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and an ever-changing British menu. The venue is open for food all day, featuring classic pub dishes alongside innovative twists on traditional favorites.
Can't fault this place, best pub! From the moment you walk in, there is a lovely warm welcome. All the staff are attentive and friendly, and go the extra as standard. We had tapas menu, and 4 dishes between the 2 of us filled us up nicely and were delicious, along with the cockatils!

Had to visit Fordingbridge to see a client and finished my meeting at lunchtime this Sunday so I asked ChatGPT for a referral Their choice was The George and by George they were right 🤩 Lovely old pub by the Avon next to a beautiful old bridge Friendly and attentive staff and first rate food First impressions it must be good because it’s busy ,that’s always a good sign. The person behind the bar greeting me when I walked in. Clean orderly and atmospheric. I had the tempura prawns with Rocket and cherry tomato salad to start . I chose a nice table on the outside patio with a beautiful view of the river Avon they bought me a nice pint of Old Speckled Hen real ale while I decided on my main course of belly pork with traditional vegetables and roasted potatoes Veg was fresh cooked and nice and crunchy The belly pork was rolled with a good layer of nice crackling around the outside It was very nice indeed a good balance of fat and flesh I chose Pannacotta for dessert and though it was a small portion it was home cooked and delicious. I can highly recommend this establishment and compliment the owners and all the staff on an excellent performance It’s reasonably priced as well Full marks

A truly disappointing lunch experience. The George is in a lovely situation beside the River Avon and close to the historic bridge. Shame about the food. Trout paté had a sticky consistency, it was bland and did not taste of trout, nor indeed of anything much. It was served with a couple of slices of slightly stale bread. Tomato soup with basil sounded enticing, but when it eventually arrived it was a yellow soup. On asking we were told the kitchen had run out of tomato soup so we had been given a mixed vegetable soup. There was no apology for the substitution, nor had there been any check beforehand that we were happy to have this different soup. The 'Korean bowl' had a base of sticky rice which seemed to have been fried into glutinous lumps. This was topped with a mince mixture that included bits of explosive chilli flavour. Quite weird: one mouthful was not spicy, the next unpleasantly hot. Service was leisurely. After waiting about 30 minutes we asked a passing waiter if our order had been forgotten. We were assured not, there was a 40 minute wait because they were so busy (it seemed about half full to me). The food eventually arrived about 35 minutes after ordering, and our second course arrived after another 35 minutes. (Heard in passing: someone complained about being served food on a dirty plate. The waiter was told the way to deal with this was to return it to the kitchen, wash the plate, then put the food back on it to give it back to the customer. Not the best approach, in my opinion.) Although served in a pub in a lovely setting, this was of the worst meals it's been my misfortune to experience. Stick to crisps if you go.

The George in Fordingbridge is a charming riverside eatery that captures the essence of quaint dining with a creative twist. The interior decor is not just visually appealing but also whimsically adorned with amusing signs and quotes that lend a lighthearted, humorous vibe to the place. This establishment also boasts a unique garden area featuring cozy booths and a small vegetable garden, complemented by an engaging souvenir shop that adds to its allure. While The George exudes a delightful atmosphere, it could benefit from a slight refresh to maintain its appeal, especially as it gears up for the new season. The staff are notably friendly and considerate; however, implementing a standard uniform could enhance the overall professionalism and prestige of the venue. The food, while generally pleasing, could use minor adjustments in portion sizes to perfect the dining experience. These constructive suggestions aside, The George offers a creatively decorated and enjoyable environment. The ambiance, especially in the evening, is particularly enchanting in the garden area, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists seeking a memorable dining experience. Overall, The George is a fantastic venue that promises a delightful visit.

Nice pub. Nice food. Good choices for vegetarians and also some vegan dishes. GF options as well I believe. Friendly staff. Food portions for adults are generous in my opinion. Kids menu available if you need it. Read the menu info (menu photo 4) about food allergies & check on that if applicable! Loads of tables for dining inside and also outside (front & back) on nice weather days. Large, gravelled car park. Toilets were clean and everything worked. Play zone for smaller kids out back on the lawned area. A great choice for some tasty, well cooked and presented pub grub if you're in the area. Dog friendly (keep Muttley on a short lead). Recommended and I'd happily visit again.

A lovely pub in the heart of the village. Often, the first thing that you'll notice is the welcoming staff who are lovely, helpful & friendly. The interior is nice and also has a welcoming feel. The beergarden is beautiful in the sunshine and has a kids play area tucked down at the bottom, which is nice as it keeps the kids happy but the noise away from the adults. We eat here often when in the area as the menu is comprehensive, reasonably priced & the food is good. My only small gripe are the table sauces, which are the catering type & not branded & in my opinion, not as nice. A great place to visit if you're visiting for something to eat or just a drink. Sadly, most likely our last visit with the impending motorhome ban on Saltgrass Lane. However, If you're fortunate enough to be able to come here then I highly recommend it.

Lovely pub with a nice beer garden. Staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food was lovely and nicely presented. Not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for. ( I think that £5.50 for a side order of onion rings is a little excessive ) Wouldn't hesitate to return though.

Beautiful food and as others say, service can be slow but I think this is because the meals are cooked to order. Nothing felt reheated - apart from the veg bowl that still had cling film on. Lovely place. Please visit if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it.

A really atmospheric village pub with local brew on tap. Good amount of parking with a public car park round the corner. Simply the friendliest and most helpful staff around especially as they were fairly young. We had a Sunday roast for 12 of us. Portions were huge and the beef was pull apart and very reasonably priced. The clientele was fairly old in an affluent area which means two things - value and quality. Glad we had booked as they were having to turn people away who arrived on spec. Will definitely be returning.

This was our second visit. The venue is beautiful, the bar is splendid it. Food: The starter - the sauce was over powering and salty for my taste. Main meal, the pigeon was beautifully cooked, still pink inside 😋, however again the sauce was over powering and slightly too salty, still managed to enjoy it. The tiramisu was pure alcohol, well over soaked and a massive splodged portion. The staff were pleasant. Would I come again? ...Possibly, Would I recommend it? Yes, it is a wonderful place with a sense of occasion.

We came here for the food, but in reality it was more of an all-inclusive experience. We spent the afternoon here, enjoying the good food and vibes. The focaccia starter was oily, but overall tasted great with the mushroom gratin. We tried the vegetarian à la carte menu because the set menu was mixed veg and non-veg items. Overall, we enjoyed the food, especially the veg hot pot, aubergines and vegetable pasta. Highly recommended, bit expensive but lovely to go for a special occasion.

On our way home from a stay in Bournemouth,we decided to make a pitt stop. It took just over 40mins to get here, navigating through the village of Lyndhurst and numerous wild ponies. The hotel and surroundings are magnificent with views of the New Forest as far as the eye can see. But as impressive it all is,we are not here for that. We are here for the food of Hartnett Holder & Co. Angela Hartnett & Luke Holder are in charge of the kitchen here, serving Italian influenced dishes. As we were early we managed to get seated on the terrace in the glorious sunshine with our doggies. While admiring the surroundings a member of staff brought out a bowl of olives and nuts. We ordered a couple of zero alcohol Erdinger beers £11.(driving). Menu wise, there was a choice between the bar, a set lunch and an A la Carte. We chose from the bar menu. Risotto Milanese £16 Saffron infused, aged parmesan & butter. Spaghetti Bolognese £15 Somerset Saxon Chicken Milanese £20 Lemon, parmesan & rocket. Cornish Fish £30 Tenderstem broccoli, lemon & green leaves. Chips Skinnies £7 Although we were full,we could not leave until we tried the Tiramisu £15. Everything we had was just as expected. Simple dishes, beautifully executed and full of flavour. With lots of parmesan to add. We didn't get to see much of the inside of the house as doggies are not allowed in. Hence that's the reason we dined outside. But we did get first class service and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Thank goodness the weather was on our side.

This is one of my favourites. A lovely restaurant in a stunning location hidden in the New Forest. Went here for Mother’s Day and the had the Gnocchi for starter, Ox Cheek for main and Baked Alaska for dessert. It was gorgeous. Will definitely be back!

What an amazing lunch! My friend and I are huge Great British Menu fans, and we were very excited to visit. We started our visit in the bar where we had a gorgeous signature fizz, Rock Story. It was fresh and dry but still had a gentle fruit note. For entree, we shared a gorgeous heritage tomato salad that was fresh and sweet. For mains, I had an amazing veal dish, and my friend had the hake. Every mouthful was flavoursome and tantalising. We end our meal with a cheese board and espressos. One piece of advice is to give yourself a whole afternoon. Our reservation was 12:30pm and we finished up around 3:00pm. Perfection cannot be rushed. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The sommelier steered me right with the wine pairing for my veal! Our server was very attentive and helped with dietary requirements.

We went for a date night and had such a delicious meal. The risotto and gnocchi were superb, followed by a very tender lamb. Dinner was only made better by an excellent wine pairing recommended by the lovely Ava. We kept saying afterward that she really made the night for us 🙂

We visited for the second time for supper on 30 July for my birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs. My wife is in a wheelchair and manager Stephanie immediately came out to help advise on car parking and to assist in helping us out of the car. We had drinks in the attractive bar and then headed through to the spacious and light restaurant for a superb meal. Each dish was beautifully crafted and presented, and tasted as good as it looked. Service was charming and efficient. The meal was truly stunning and perfect for a special occasion. We also had a problem with our adapted car which became apparent when we arrived, necessitating a call out from the RAC. Without any prompting, Stephanie realised that we may need alternative transport home and researched wheelchair taxis, which are not readily available in the evenings, so she spent some time locating and speaking to companies to ensure we had a means of getting home should the car have been out of action. She kept us informed in a very caring way with minimal interruption to our evening and we felt very reassured. Fortunately the RAC were able to resolve the problem but the way Stephanie took ownership of the situation and was so proactive to alleviate any stress for us was really heartwarming. It really was a special evening and without a doubt, above and beyond even the greatest of expectations. Thank you for such a wonderful evening and we will definitely be back!

Pub
The Kings Head Inn is a charming and historic dog-friendly inn located on the cobbled streets leading to the Town Quay. It features traditional timbered interior, an open log fire, and a garden where guests can enjoy real ale and British bar menu offerings. The inn offers a daily specials menu alongside classic pub fare, complemented by a delightful selection of wine and ales.
Lovely little find. We had not booked as were visiting Lymington for the weekend. Got a table without a problem, and ordered food and drink. Great wine and beer selection. Staff was excellent and friendly. Beautiful old pub, full of character, serving amazing food, big portions. Food was excellent value for money. We have chosen food from Special Menu. I have chosen homemade chicken liver and white truffle pate, my partner crab, crayfish, lime and coriander bon bons in Thai red coconut sauce. As mains I had supreme chicken and sun dried tomato, three cheese risotto from Special Menu. My partner had homemade steak pie from main menu. He did mention that it was little bit tasteless, but otherwise really good, full of meat. I have to say this was one of the nicest pub lunches I’ve had very long time, and I do love food. Would recommend if you are visiting Lymington.

We had an excellent Beef Sunday Roast and Sea Bream while visiting Lymington. The team kindly accommodated a last minute booking and the pub is one of the oldest in the area. We’ll certainly visit again.

Lovely evening meal, best pub meal on the high street. Daily special menus are printed and my skate wing with king prawns in butter sauce was delicious. Highly recommended if you are visiting Lymington.

Excellent fish and chips! Both the food and service were exceptional! The portions are large, so if you don’t eat much, simply share! BTW-excellent music choice too! A quick pub quiz started among total strangers guessing who the singers were! Fun vibe!

Food was very good, burger absolutely delicious. Everyone at the table said the food was great. However the service let this pub down, 2 waiters working on a Friday evening and you could see they were struggling. 30 mins for the starter to arrive and another 30 mins to have our plates cleared, pub wasn’t full either. Certainly not good for morale when the owner is sat at the bar drinking pints whilst his staff are working their a*se off! Real shame

Great pint of ale, I had the last one of the barrel so they gave me a fresh pint. Also had the best fish and chips ever. Staff came over to check everything was ok with the food and were really helpful. Definitely would go back. Make sure you reserve a table because most tables were reserved.

Nice pub just a short walk from the quayside. Extremely generous portions (seriously the large fish and chips is more than enough for two people!). All the food was delicious and staff were very pleasant. 2 children’s meals and 2 adult meals, with drinks, came to about £60.

Our B&B owner suggested this traditional pub. We had the king prawn tempura and salt and pepper squids. They were very tasty. The atmosphere was nice and cosy. Especially the fireplace!!

Italian restaurant
Prezzo Italian Restaurant Salisbury is a casual dining spot offering authentic Italian cuisine, including stone-baked pizzas and classic pastas. The restaurant also provides a separate kids' menu. Located on the High Street, it's conveniently situated just a short walk from the rail station and Town Quay. The restaurant boasts a lovely garden at the rear for al fresco dining.
My experience at Prezzo was definitely a positive one. It's a really nice atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was bang on, professionally presented and more importantly it tasted delicious. I took my family there for fathers day, my wife and two boys. It cost me £130 which included drinks etc. It was worth it though. Had a great time. I will definitely go again.

Magnificent Italian food in the heart of Salisbury. I took a couple of stars off because the host did not seem like he wanted us to dine there. And I get it, we had been backpacking all day and looked a little tired and dirty, but still. He literally looked at us as if we were dirt on the bottom of his shoe. I would have went somewhere else but I was too tired and hungry. Also the place is pretty small. We had trouble finding a place to put our small backpacks. And boy, am I glad we stayed! The food was divine. Delicious pasta and wine, but the cheesecake was amiss. Something was just off about it. Prices were pretty reasonable too. I probably wouldn’t stop in again, though.

We booked a table for my partner and i’s 1 year anniversary. We had a free bottle of Prosecco which was very welcome and generous, along with using a 50% off food voucher! The food was really lovely, and the atmosphere again superb. The only downfall is as the waiter advised they were short staffed that evening therefore service was slightly slower for such a busy restaraunt! However, our experience was very pleasant and would definitely return again 😋

Unfortunately not a good experience on this occasion. Marcus, the manager, refused us as customers, even if there were plenty of free tables, he said they are full booked for next hour and half. I asked him about top floor, he said that is full. As it was hard to belive it, I walked out and made an online reservation, came back, Marcus "welcomed" us, ready to reject us for the second time, but when I showed him online reservation, he dind't have other option then to give us a table. I asked him why he refused customers when there were available tables, otherwise I couldnt make online reservation, instead to apologies, Marcus continued with his charade (lies): I was lucky as there was a last minute cancellation. We been seated, but no one pay attention to us over 10 min, I put my hand up to get some attention, the waitress first asked Marcus if she have to serve us, after his confirmation she gave us menus. Because we had plenty of time to decide about drinks while we were waiting for food menu, we let know the waitress that we are ready to order our drinks. The waitress didn't bother to ask me if I want ice, so my apple juice was full of ice, after I "fished"out the ice, there was half glass of apple juice. While we were waiting for food, I asked both left table (they arrived before us) and right table (they arrived after us) if they have reservation: the answer was no (it seemes there were massive cancellations :)) ). The food was good, as I expected. Really disappointing, but this won't stop me to come back, I'm sure there are still kind and polite staff

The initial lady who greeted us was pretty rude. We were told by her that they were fully booked + we could come back at 9pm.. So we left. We checked online, as we did see some tables free when we popped in.. We saw multiple time slots available + bookable online for the same evening. So we made an online reservation for a bit later on. When we came back we advised we had an online booking, but recognising us, she refused to sit us - despite being able to see 2 x tables for 2 available, plus others leaving from upstairs - telling us they were completely full so we'd have to wait. She said if others who hadn't arrived yet come by, she will sit them before us as they likely made their online booking before we made ours... We were made to stand + wait for 15 mins, whilst noone else came in after us + whilst these same tables for 2 remained empty + more people also left. In the end, one of their colleagues actually came to see if we were okay + sat us straight away when we showed we had a reservation. We were pleased we were sat away from the area the initial person who greeted us was looking after, as I think she really would have made it difficult for us to enjoy our evening. Once sat, we enjoyed our meal, it was good value. A few dishes were out of stock, but enjoyed the ones we ended up with.
Jessica R — Google review
Our server on table 12 was very lovely. Helpful & attentive. It does feel cramped when walking to table when restaurant full. It was a busy night. Can be a bit awkward brushing up against other customers as walking by! Calamari & mushroom starters lovely. Salmon main...use smaller plates as looked half empty! Mini roasts were really disappointing. Basically not cooked. Did get some more which were cooked differently & some mashed potato as an alternative, but roasts still not cooked inside. Like eating raw spuds. I don't usually leave feedback but feel the need on this occasion as we do like the restaurant. Hopefully this constructive feedback will help. Thanks to server again as she tried hard to make it right. Ended up eating salmon & broccoli before plate of potatoes. Shame.

This charming restaurant offers an array of classic dishes, including mouthwatering curries, stir-fries, and fresh salads, all prepared with care by skilled chefs who prioritize authenticity. Delicious Thai food in Brockenhurst in the heart of the New Forest. Food was delicious and flavoursome and the staff very accommodating when we asked for “Asian” level spiciness in the dishes. The seabass dish was a particular highlight being sweet, spicy and sour with generous servings of fish. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming to us. I would definitely come again for another meal next time I’m in the New Forest!

Delicious authentic Thai food in the New Forest. Lovely place to have delicious food. The menu is small but perfect a lovely selection of meals. For accessibility, the entrance has a large step, but it is flat throughout the restaurant once inside. The disabled loo is also the men's toilet

We visited for an early evening meal yesterday and enjoyed a lovely selection of dishes. The best Thai food we have had for several months, exactly what we needed after a day exploring the New Forest. There wasn't a bad dish, but Weeping Tiger was probably the highlight... the green curry was also a treat. Staff were really accommodating and friendly. Thanks! 🇹🇭

Lovely meal here. Wednesday night but was quite busy (nice busy not crazy). Service was quick and the waitress was friendly. The food was absolutely amazing, I wish we lived closer I would come here all rhe time. Should've taken a photo as the food looked lovely too, but we ate it all before we thought of it!

I hate to leave a bad review but the food was so bad I couldn't finish it. The sauce for the tamarind sauce was too thicky and saucy, the taste of fish sauce was over powering and the king prawns were VERY fishy tasting, meaning they were not fresh at all. My partner ordered the pad Thai, and the chicken tasted a little off also. Very disappointing. The guy working there was nice though and I hope they can get their chef to improve the cooking style. The fried squid was okay, it was less fishy tasting but not amazing.

What a superb restaurant! I really can't fault it. We were holidaying locally and fancied a change from the hotel's food and chose this lovely Thai restaurant. Upon entry, we were very warmly welcomed and then looked after very attentively; the young waiter was a real gent and it was a real pleasure to tip him. The food was absolutely stunning and so well presently. Prices were very reasonable and the ambience perfect. If we lived nearby, we'd go very often!

We visited for the first time for a birthday celebration on 28/10/23. The food was superb. Portion sizes were very generous. The service was great. And it was a lovely atmosphere. The only drawback, was the wood fire which irritated our eyes. But apart from this, the waiter and chef were extremely attentive, courteous and very kind. All we can say is, this is a fantastic place to go for a great meal with friends and family. Thank you for making my birthday meal a memorable occasion with my wonderful friends.

Very old world traditional pub set in the heart of the New Forest. Well you'd expect that from a place that can trace its history back to 1096. Food is good using fresh ingredients and some nice quality touches. Presentation is modern and neat. The beef Wellington looked good and was very popular. Good desert selection with some very traditional options.

Dating from 1096, this great pub, with a fantastic menu, was originally under the control of the local monks. Historically important, the Grade 1 listed building has been preserved for our pleasure. Out of the way, on a small country lane and village. Nice selection of beers, it is in contention to be the oldest licenced estabishment in England. Great chat with the landlord, and skilled chef, Steve who knows so much more. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Friendly staff.

Seriously high quality food. It's very close to Michelin level. Lovely, kind, fun staff. Good wines! We had no idea we'd just stumbled into the second oldest pub in the UK, so it was amazing to see the date above the door... 1096!!

Lovely little pub with great history. Very warm welcome from all staff. The atmosphere was lovely and country-esk. They accepted dogs which was fab. The food was absolutely beautiful, faultless and served timely and with carefully thought about presentation. We had the Monkfish Scampi and Salt and Pepper squid, both superb. For mains we had Halibut in a lobster bisque, and the Chicken and Ham hock pie - full of flavour from start to finish. To end we shared the sticky toffee pudding which was topped with delicious honey comb. We even had the chef and owner come out and chat with us which was such a lovely touch. Wonderful experience, will definitely be back when we’re next in the area!

We stopped off here for a quick drink because it was one of the closet watering holes to an appt. And we were so glad we did. Lovely friendly place, sat out in the sunshine. We were only stopping for a drink bit shred three starters, whitebait, mushrooms on toast and a prawn cocktail and they were all great!! Lovely and fresh. I am not keen on whitebait, but these were lovely, with a thin but consistent covering of breadcrumbs. Really glad we stopped and will make sure we do again. 😀

We booked a table for four on Mothers day. Good service, friendly staff, great food. Will absolutely go again soon. When we arrived, mum got a glass of prosecco. We had starters (calamari, garlic musrooms in cream sauce, ham hock terrine and prawn cocktail) which were very tasty, and well presented. For main we all had roast (2x lamb, 1xbeef, 1xpork). There was plenty of vegetables - crispy roast potatoes, a yorkshire pudding, carrots, parsnips, leeks. We added a side of cauliflour cheese. It was all delicious and we even had room for pudding - two creme brulee and two sticky toffee puddings. Despite being very busy on Mothers day, the service was prompt, and food was hot.

Read the lovely the reviews and we decided to have Thursday dinner at The Ferryman. It’s a lovely looking pub. They seemed pretty relaxed when we walked in and accommodating. We ordered a steak and the squid and my hubby ordered the burger and a beer. The bill came to £72. The steak was £26. We decided to share with our 2 little boys because we had just fed them in the hotel. We paid and tipped and it went downhill from there. We asked 3 times for water and it didn’t arrive. Everyone was chatting and cleaning windows and no apologies. Food arrived and just couldn’t get cutlery, condiments. The owners had been very amorous in front of us whilst we waited for water and wouldn’t ordinarily mind but then rubbing bums and pulling thongs in front of my 10 and 8 year old wasn’t nice. Cannot understand why they were so inattentive. Absolutely gutted we tipped. We walked out. Such an awful start to our most precious holiday. We will regroup and start again tomorrow.

I really enjoyed my visit to The Plough Inn . The food was lovely I had a jacket potato and it came with a lovely salad and garnish. It tasted so good. Amazing value for money. The best meal and service I had all weekend. The service was good very friendly bar staff. My chain on my vintage bag has broke so I asked for a pair of Pilars the kind lady at the bar bought me a pair out and I was able to fix it 😍. The guy also was very helpful and gave me a plastic bag to put it in incase the chain broke again. But thankfully I fixed it well. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely fantastic meal at this lovely country pub in the New Forest! Our group of 9 ranged in age from 4 to 84, and everyone was genuinely wowed by the variety and quality of the food – something to suit every taste, and all delicious. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and visitors. The large beer garden is a real highlight – spacious, well-kept, and perfect for families. Our kids especially loved the bouncy castle, which kept them entertained while the adults relaxed. We also really appreciated how dog-friendly the pub is – our four-legged friend was made to feel just as welcome as the rest of us. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a perfect spot to enjoy the New Forest. We’ll definitely be back!

Very helpful attentive staff. Assisted with all our daughters needs and requests. Great food, awesome value for money. Kids play area and bouncy castle kept them entertained. So impressed we went back again at the end of our holiday.

Great garden for kids to play in, when we were here, the only thing I could taste on the food was the heat, there was literally no flavour on anything, kids didn’t finish, neither did we. Saw other customers sending dishes back and others leaving full plates. Not sure if this place was having an ‘off night’? But I see other reviews refer to good food? We certainly didn’t get that. The service I would say was very friendly and helpful though.

We chose this place for our daughters 50th birthday meal with the rest of the family. We were warmly greeted and the long table and chairs were ready to go. Good food and drinks were provided and vegeterians, etc we're catered for. Plenty of spaces outside too if weather allows. Easy parking.

Ray's Italian Kitchen is a beloved spot for both locals and tourists, offering a wide range of dining options from morning coffee to brunch, lunch, and flavorful à la carte evening meals. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated ambiance while also housing a deli filled with delectable Italian treats and a sun-soaked courtyard for al fresco dining during warmer months.
We picked up a takeaway Margherita and Prosciutto Crudo. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had, highly recommend and the staff were lovely. Will definitely be returning next time we’re in the area.

We had another excellent experience at Ray’s last evening. We were lucky to get the table at the front which worked well for the three of us. The service was of its usual high standard and our three starters and mains were very tasty and all off the specials board. We will be back.

The place is closed between 4pm and 5:30pm and we were passing by craving for a cup of tea at 4pm, not realizing the opening times, we entered and we were not sent away, rather welcomed very warmly by a fantastic lady. Had a wonderful short time having tea, coffee and some sweets (Italian cookies filled with pistachio cream and scone). The place looks great and if we'll have another chance surely will return for a dinner too. The Italian sweets filled with pistachio cream are fantastic, just like in Florence.

Food was good, good atmosphere. Although all the waitresses were very polite and all very helpful, I'd recommend 1 waitress to a set few tables instead of various waitresses all trying to look after all tables. This is where it all got confusing. Overall would recommend.

Really tasty pizza and pasta. Staff were great and atmosphere the same. Nice location. Only downside was I ordered extra toppings on the pizza and could have done with a little more!

I popped in this evening to look at the menu and was disappointed to find they were fully booked (understandably). However, a lovely member of staff explained that if we came back at a certain time, they could fit us in. We returned and were greeted with a very warm welcome. The food, service, and atmosphere were amazing from start to finish. I’m so glad we chose this place – the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

What a fabulous restaurant. We were on holiday in the village and ate here twice in the week, on both occasions the food, service and atmosphere were excellent. They have a great menu and the food is prepared to a very high standard. The servers/owners were professional and friendly and really mad our visits a joy. You get the impression it's a family run business with a lot of thought & care put into it. Ray's Italian Kitchen is definitely worth a visit - you certainly won't be disappointed. Am I the first person to have their Aperol Trifle twice in four days? I think I might be.

Stanwell House Hotel is a charming Georgian property located in the heart of Lymington, offering a blend of comfort and luxury in an elegant and inviting atmosphere. The hotel features an upscale seafood restaurant, cocktail bar, and even offers yacht charters for guests to enjoy. With its proximity to Lymington town center and easy access to the New Forest, Stanwell House Hotel provides a warm and friendly atmosphere with delicious dining options using the freshest ingredients available.
We had a lovely stay in this hotel. It is very stylish with a lot of thought behind the interior design. Our ‘luxury’ room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and there were lots of nice touches. Our room was on the High Street; maybe a little noisy on a Saturday morning when the market is setting up but it was surprisingly quiet. Many of the staff were very welcoming but special mention to Jill, Amy and Dan on reception and Trinity in the restaurant who were extra friendly and helpful. Breakfast was high quality. Lots of choice and excellent produce. We had dinner in the restaurant on one night and enjoyed a vegetarian sharing board. The hotel is in a central location for the town and harbour. We were lucky enough to get a parking space in the car park on all days- just a short walk to the hotel but you can always drop your luggage off first. A few constructive pointers- I think the room could have had robes at this price point and at breakfast, staff could be more proactive replenishing the continental offering as we had to ask every morning when things had run out- not enough to take a star off my review but things that would really make a difference in my opinion. A very good hotel.

We have just returned from Lymington after a wonderful 4 night stay at Stanwell House Hotel. The staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for you. The rooms are perfect with extremely comfortable beds and absolute luxurious bathrooms and products. The Restaurant was good but my only comment here would be that the menu was a little limited. I would like to mention 2 members of staff who were wonderful - Niamh and Megan. We will definitely be returning as we still have many more places to visit. Thank you Stanwell for a wonderful break.
Janet H — Google review
Only stayed one night. The hotel was lovely but our room (36) was unbearably hot and the window would only open a few inches. It was virtually impossible to get to sleep without having a noisy fan on all night...you then had to put up with the noise of the fan so we didn't get a lot of sleep. The garden is lovely but there is quite a wait for your order, our drinks took at least 15mins to appear! The good points were the excellent breakfast, friendly staff and lovely seating areas both inside and out.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Stanwell Hotel in Lyndhurst with my wife, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent gluten-free food selection. It’s often challenging to find places that cater to dietary needs, but the Stanwell Hotel went above and beyond. Every meal was delicious, and we appreciated the thoughtful menu options that made dining a joy for both of us. We particularly loved eating in the beautiful orangery. The natural light and surrounding greenery created a delightful ambiance, making our meals feel even more special. The spacious outside garden, adorned with flowering wisteria, was a serene spot to relax and enjoy a drink together after our meals. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our experience was nothing short of perfect. Our room was comfortable and well-appointed, providing a lovely retreat after a day of exploring the stunning New Forest. Overall, our stay at the Stanwell Hotel was exceptional, and we can't recommend it enough! If you're looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful escape, this hotel is a wonderful choice. We can’t wait to return!

As my dad would say....Stanwell House has become our home away from home. It's honestly become our place of salvation; a place for bonding and reconnecting as a family again after the rough and tumble of normal, everyday, crazy life 😵‍💫. My family and I have stayed several times at this lovely hotel. An adult only holiday break. Our last stay was August 17th for three nights and I have been meaning to write this review for a while. It's a beautifully designed hotel with such attention to detail. It's comfortable and homely yet funky and fashionable with gorgeous fixtures and fittings. I know a good pooky light and bathroom tap when i see one ;). The beds and bedding are also top notch (so important). There's a tea and coffee station in the room with New Forest short bread (a lovely touch) and fresh milk delivered to your door every morning. The 'Natural' bath products with no nasties (shower gel, lotion and conditioner) are very well received and I personally believe what health conscious people prefer nowadays. The building is wonderful and deceivingly set back and vast with lovely courtyard spacious gardens and plenty of seating and attractive sun brollies for shade. When we were there there was live music for our coffee and sundowners. Very good cocktails incidently - we heard that ours were made by the flat mate of a member of staff. He made a stonkingly good strong margarita and espresso martinis. We could have all been abroad with the summer vibes it all evoked. Holiday mode activated instantly. What really makes Stanwell House exceptionally good are the staff. A hotel will grind to a holt without a good team. It doesn't help that I am quite awful at remembering names but we are now on first name terms with Amy, Jill and Dan at reception. They are always a joy and we know how hard they work. The reception team are personable, kind courteous and professional and always help my family if they can. We've driven Jill and Amy mad on several occasions trying to work out our dates to stay when all our family can make it. They never dissapoint to help us. Thank you! The restaurant and bar staff also work very hard indeed to run a smooth ship. Again, I wish I could remember the names of each lovely member of staff. On the last day of my stay I made a note of Courtney and Maks; two lovely staff who were working the breakfast shift together. Thank you Courtney for remembering my black iced coffee each day. SH does excellent strong coffee BTW for all the coffee lovers out there. The food at Stanwell House is also very good indeed. That is a huge bonus - it's a pleasure to dine in in the evenings and then venture to the late night bar to relax and play cards. I can not fault this hotel. My family and I love it and a big thank you to all the staff. We know how hard you work. Best to you all, Family V.

We would really recommend this hotel, from start to finish we had such a great stay! The location on the high street is perfect, we had to park across the way & down a path in either the hotel car park or the public one ( local charge) but not a problem at all. We were greeted by Amy on reception who was so lovely she was really welcoming & had a note that I had requested oat milk which is not usually mentioned when we stay at other hotels. She even carried my case to our room which was kind. She gave us an upgrade to a garden room which was really lovely, a classic room, good quality furnishings & furniture & had great views of the garden on the 1st floor. The bed was huge & so comfy, bedding was all perfect & lovely quality. I was very impressed with the tea/ coffee/ water in the room which was well stocked each day. The bathroom was nice too with walk in shower & high quality toiletries. I had stayed in another 4 star hotel a few days previously & their toiletries were awful. It was so peaceful even with guests sitting in the garden. Breakfast was amazing, such a good size & choice with good quality local produce, always cooked fresh & very hot. We just couldn't eat anymore but there were other options available. The staff in the dining room were so attentive & friendly nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was lovely too, wish we ate there every night but sadly only ate in there one evening, again the food choice was good & hot & tasted great. Staff again were very attentive & friendly. I would recommend the Hatha Yoga with Alexa on Wednesday evenings, a really relaxing way to end the day. Alexa & the ladies in the class made me very welcome. We slept so well the whole time we were there as it was really peaceful at night. We didn't end up using the bar but it looked a lovely space, excellent choice of drinks & cocktails with plenty of character & board games too. Joseph was very helpful & Friendly when I asked him where he would recommend to go in the area. All the staff worked so hard & always with a smile on their face. Lymington is a pretty harbour town easily walkable with a nice high street & a good base for exploring the New Forest! Would definitely go back again!

Popped in for lunch in the outside dining area. Very pleasant surroundings and the food was pricey but of good quality. The staff were very friendly but one in particular could do with further training. The place was not busy at all but we were left waiting to order for a long time, so long in fact that another member of staff took our drinks order. Subsequently we were left waiting for the bill and eventually had to go to the bar to find him and then was kept waiting again while he disappeared to talk to another staff member. Not a personal complaint as he was very pleasant but could do with prioritising training.

We had The best stay at this stunning boutique hotel. We felt so welcomed and embraced by all the staff over the duration of our stay- as did our pooch! Our dog friendly room was spotlessly clean with many ‘extra’ treats and much consideration for a furry guest. The room was super Comfortable and decorated beautifully. We sampled all menus (breakfast, lunch and dinner) whilst we stayed here, each far exceeded our expectations- delicious and presented beautifully. The wine list was excellent and the cocktails hit the spot alongside the ambiance of the bar (credit to the cheerful and interactive waiters). Every staff member we engaged with was polite, helpful and had a positive attitude to their role- service was by far the best we have received in a hotel. Special acknowledgment and thanks to the incredible Neive who served us with the highest of attention and witty conversations and Maks in the orangery for his wonderful breakfast service- attentive, polite and diligent! Thanks for an awesome three day stay - we will be returning!

Restaurant
Monsoori Heights is an Indian restaurant located in Milford on Sea, offering a range of gluten-free and vegetarian options. It is well-reviewed and known for its delicious lamb and rice dishes, as well as its alcoholic drinks. The restaurant provides a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff, and the customers can enjoy their meals without feeling rushed.
A traditional Indian restaurant using authentic spices, herbs and a non-fussy menu. With many of the pubs and restaurants in the area becoming the typical overpriced 'gastro' experience, this is a pleasant relief. A great menu, authentic sauces, sizzler plates and their own in-house dishes.....you won't be disappointed.

This place is a little gem with outstanding authentic Indian cuisine. Each dish was presented beautifully with extra care by servers that helped us choose our plates (so glad we went with their suggestions). Starting our meal with two fresh naan breads we were amazed by all the unique flavours and the meat is so delicious and juicy. I recommend gathering family and friends to try as many dishes as possible. Definitely coming back next time I am in New Milton!

Absolutely incredible place - I truly recommend. We were staying in Milford on Sea for a brief holiday, and whilst we all love Indian, it was not particularly a cuisine we were planning to have whilst there, but it smelled so good as we walked by that we decided to go in, and it was one of the best parts of our holiday - and definitely the best place we ate. In fact, we all agreed it was the best Indian we ever had. The food was delicious, and my dad ended up trying something he'd never had before, on recommendation from one of the staff, that has now become his favourite dish. The flavours of all the dishes were rich and authentic - somewhat different to some other Indians I've had before, but only in that there seemed to be a greater variety of spices and a slightly sweeter profile to some dishes, which made it truly something special. The staff were also tremendously warm and welcoming, and it was clear how much passion had gone into the restaurant. We were predominately served by the son of the owner, and it was evident that he truly knew his food and was invested in ensuring his customers had a brilliant experience. We would have eaten there every night of our holiday if we could!

Lovely little place. The staff are very charming and welcome you at the door. Shown to our table and offered a personal Aircon unit as it was a particularly hot evening and quite stuffy in the restaurant. The place seemed clean, tidy and well decorated. Service was prompt, although we were there on a Monday evening, and with an unexpected surge of people the food took a long time to arrive between courses. Which of course can't be helped sometimes. The food definitely wasn't lacking in flavour or colour. We both very much enjoyed our dining experience. We will be returning. Would recommend.

Monsoori Heights is an absolute gem, found nestling among the seaside village shops of Milford on Sea. With a captive audience restaurants in locations visited by tourists can be a little hit and miss, however, this one is superb. Rarely have I encountered such engaging staff. They are polite, friendly and posses an in depth knowledge of the menu. When asked about a particular dish they reel off a list of spices and cooking methods as well as the general flavour profile. We stayed chatting with the front of house for nearly an hour after we had finished eating and left with lots of local knowledge and an understanding of the hospitality industry as well as a couple of recipes! The draft beer is Cobra and was brought over by an incredibly polite barman who was clearly invested in his work. While washing glasses he put exceptional effort into ensuring each one was spotless and sparkling. The menu consist of all the usual Anglo/Indian favourites alongside some authentic Indian curries for those that like to try something new. I was particularly pleased to note that, whilst there are plenty of hot meals on offer, there is no over-reliance on chilli and there are plethora of equally tasty, milder dishes. Rich sauces, tasty rice, delicious pickles and tender meat typified what we ate and the garlic naan bread was perfect. Portions size is good, with the paneer tikka we shared as a starter, as generous as it was delicious. I would thoroughly recommend Monsoori Heights to anyone looking for good food and good service in Milford on Sea.

Nestled in the New Forest, Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa offers elegant rooms and luxurious treehouse suites on a picturesque country estate. The hotel exudes old-school charm with its well-manicured lawns, grand piano bar, and fine-dining restaurant. Guests can enjoy amenities such as an indoor pool, tennis courts, golf course, and a cookery school.
We’ve stayed and visited this hotel and Spa for 15 years. Not as long as some, but long enough to appreciate the efforts of staff to deliver a great experience. We’ve stayed in most worth the time and trouble, but the CG remains a favourite. Trends change and sometimes they are just annoying, but right now, the CG is back on track and in our humble opinion, more than worth a visit for those seeking a relaxed experience (like us) to those who wish to jump through hoops of dress and phone voice conversation in the newly refurbished bar and lounges. All part of the British experience the CG has delivering for decades.

Overall, a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. The hot stone massage was possibly the best I've had. The dry sauna and steam were excellent in terms of space and heat. The changing room facilities were nice but just expected a little more, example better quality facilities for hairstyling and better/more modern lockers, many of which didn't work or got stuck. There's also only a couple of changing cubicles and no additional area to pop bag and change (couple of padded corner spots only). The changing rooms were also incredibly warm. The variety of hydrotherapy areas was as described but would have expected the outdoor hot tub water to be a lot warmer. Lunch was nice but Breakfast was somewhat underwhelming. Staff/service was very good and the grounds are beautiful.

Lovely stay at Chewton Glen. Room was exceptional with plenty of space. Could have stayed longer. My only observation was the price of 2 gins. We were charged £48. We retrospectively were advised this was due to it being house gin made on site. Regardless, you'd have expected the recommendation from the bar staff to have come with a health warning on the price. Apart from that the stay was good.

I wanted a Day spa for my girlfriends birthday but everywhere I called was booked. When I contacted Chewton Glen spa they were booked to, but offered me day passes for the spa facilities which was perfect and gave us exactly what I asked for. The night before our visit I realised I had booked the wrong weekend which was a disaster for me as I had by then told my girlfriend the plan and organised child care. In desperation and hoping not to be in the dog house for the remainder of the year, I called Chewton Glen in the hope they could move the day for me. I spoke to the night staff, who where incredibly helpful and by 6:30am the following morning my bacon was well and truly saved. That's incredible service in my eyes. The day was amazing, food was fantastic, staff were all wonderful and facilities fantastic. A big thank you to all the staff of Chewton Glen for helping me to give my girlfriend a wonderful birthday we will not forget.

A really lovely, rather quirky but very comfortable countryside tearoom just off the main road from New Milton into Lymington. Great cappuccinos and wonderful toasted teacakes amongst other things on offer. The tearoom is very nice but there is also a really great garden to sit in when the weather permits. Staff are also lovely and very helpful. Thoroughly recommend.

Delicious lunch of brie baguettes and sandwiches for the kids. Lots of choice for vegetarians and vegans, what a breath of fresh air! Had to try the cream tea as it looked soo good and we were not let down. Delicious fresh scones and a good dollop or jam and cream. Beautiful, relaxing setting. Would love to see some soya free cakes on the menu as my lad has a milk and Soya intolerance for next time we visit the new forest, which we now have an extra reason to visit again soon 😋

Just had a delightful visit to this hidden gem. The outside seating, dotted throughout the garden, provided a relaxing location to enjoy a fresh and filling cream tea. Scones were still warm and of a good size. Service was good, even the dog enjoyed a tasty treat.

Visited here after finding their website. The gardens look lovely on the website and were the main reason for our visit … however reality is they’re VERY small and the nursery wasn’t really open, just a few plants for sale on the way in to tearoom. The plants did look reasonably healthy. The focus of the owners is clearly the tearooms. Tea and cakes were very nice. Dog friendly is a bonus. Don’t visit for the gardens alone, you may be disappointed.

We love it here. Delicious cakes, food and drinks. Lovely in the summer in the garden and lovely in the winter with the wood burner. Vegan and gluten free choices and dog friendly.
Vicky N — Google review
The cream tea was not a disappointment, the gardens were! Not only could you not walk around them, but it all looked very tired. Some of the garden furniture needs attention. The metal sets were rusty and the wood sets need varnishing or painting. Some scraggy plants for sale, you wouldn't buy them. I would recommend this place for the cream tea's alone, don't expect anything else.

Great little bar in Milford where they serve beer and cider in 3 x 1/3 pint paddles which you can choose a variety from a blackboard, as well as serving gin, wine and beer. Great decoration throughout based on the theme of it being a former wash-house. A little bit of seating outside on pavement, dogs allowed inside, vinyl Sundays once a month. I love this bar and was there for a paddle and a beer last night.

We had the great fortune of partaking at the Wash House after a difficult journey following the closure of the A31 and very lengthy delays. We were welcomed by two young barmaids who served us a fabulous cerne abbas ales and a couple of delicious fruit ciders. The free nibbles on the bar were much appreciated as we had lost a couple of hours and were very peckish. The dogs were spoiled with treats and we were given a good briefing on the local restaurants and attractions. Great pub. 5 stars. Thank you.

Incredible quality. I have been ordering here for over 15 years and it is by far the best curry takeaway in Lymington. The food is always tasty and consistent. Great value with generous portions. The staff are very friendly and it is a pleasure to visit and collect. Well done team.

Ordered a takeaway from here the other day. They said 15 minutes till it's ready over the phone, I did not believe them at all as of my experience with takeaways in London. Boy was I wrong, not only was it ready before we arrived but it was one of the best curry's I've had in my life. Perfectly balanced, amazing portion sizes and to top it all off everyone in the kitchen had charm to boot. Thanks for a banging curry lads!

I have had curries across the UK. And the most, at the very best, bang average, but here oh my god, these guys know how to cook a curry alright! Their style of curry is where commercial meets the home style, so, so good!

I've been going to this Indian take away ever since I was a young kid with my parents, standing on the sofa and watching them cook. 20 years later it's still just as good! Fantastic curry as always. Always super tasty 😋

Yes they sold… Chef is back. Loads of bad press about. But I knew it was a load of bs. Came back in England after 2 years. This place has always been the best curry house in England imo. Tried tons from brick lane to Manchester. Im always having a polish curry always a bit disappointed, but it’s completely different to a uk one. Had been dreaming about forest tandoori for a year, every curry I have. I’m always thinking on the dansak they serve here but it never compares. Maybe that’s why I’m disappointed when I go else where. Last time I was down went to lal quila, was disappointed. Was very expensive and just not how it used to be. Was always a good experience in there back in the day. But was a poor curry. Better than rivaaz though, that one sucks! All I can say is damn, the chicken portion has got BIG!!!! First picture was day 1, 2nd pic next day for lunch. Must have been at least 16 bits of chicken tikka in it 😋🤤 Next day the curry is always better as the spices have time to mature. Only thing, it feels like they need a refit in there. Feels a bit neglected. Apart from that you will not be disappointed with forest tandoori!!! Absolutely spot on thanks 🙏

We came across Forest Tandoori while camping in the New Forest recently, and it is every bit as good as the other reviewers have said. We'll definitely return next time we're in the area.

So I got wrongfully racially profiled and searched by the police in this Greg's . First time I went there and most surely is gonna be the last one , after the search was conducted and nothing was found. Also the search happened just after i paid for my sandwich and drink .As a cherry on top nobody from the management came to say sorry , nor did they apologised in any capacity. I was asked to leave and to not come back . Beyond disgusting behaviour. Hope this finds upper management within the company and the responsible people at this Greg's . Disgusting

We were having a couple of drinks next door with a plan to get some Greggs afterwards. Some "customers" gave the staff there a really difficult time and they handled it like absolute bosses. When we went in we were served by the young man and the lady, both were really lovely and as always the food hit the spot. That young man and lady deserve a pay rise for all they put up with.
Senga D — Google review
The downfall of Greggs across the uk has got to be studied because how did they go from being so reliable to consistently subpar, people camping outside, cold food and very limited seating, a shame really
Fatou F — Google review
I like the chunky chips. Not very hot though. The hot food is very cold at both Southampton town centre shops.
Paul H — Google review
Food could be hotter that's why my review is generous on the stars. Good food is a neccessary but keep your personnel bags nearby as some stores have regarlar trouble from those who take advantage of a lovely coffee shop experience. Staff Always willing to help in most enquiries.

Nestled in Lymington, the Macdonald Elmers Court Hotel & Resort is a luxurious escape set within a 19th-century manor. The property offers modern accommodations, a rejuvenating spa, and exquisite dining options. Surrounded by picturesque landscapes, this retreat provides an ideal setting for relaxation and leisure. Guests can also explore nearby attractions such as Bucklers Hard and Beaulieu National Motor Museum or indulge in pampering at the Elemis Spa.
We just wanted to say the biggest thank you for everything you did to make our wedding day unbelievably magical. From start to finish, everything was perfect thanks to your incredible team, attention to detail, and the outstanding level of care you gave to us and to our guests. The food was phenomenal — so many guests told us it was the best wedding meal they’ve ever had. The service was warm, attentive, and exceptional, and everyone — even our suppliers — felt so well looked after. We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making it so special. We can’t wait to return for our anniversary next year!

We stayed for an overnight spa break (a gift from our daughter) and it was hugely disappointing. Room: Very dated, with hairs in the bed and bathroom, bedside light not working, wardrobe and net curtain rail broken, carpet stained and worn. Cups, spoons and kettle were filthy and rusty. Replacements took 1.5hrs and the new kettle only worked if something heavy was put on the switch. Balcony was filthy, peeling paint, rotten decking, cobwebs, dirty glass and broken tiles above the window. Spa: Steam room out of order, relaxation room closed, no loungers by the pool, and children everywhere – no spa feel at all, more like a noisy gym. Grounds: Fountain full of stagnant green water, algae and rubbish. Outdoor furniture and games tatty and poorly maintained. Food: Breakfast was basic and felt like a Travelodge canteen. Overall, the hotel is tired, dated, dirty and neglected. Definitely not a 4-star spa experience, we left feeling very disappointed. Will not be recommending or returning.

Room and furniture were a little tired. Carpet had not been hoovered as had lots of bits on it. Bathroom could also do with an update. Outside pool was nice but the edges looked a bit grubby. The inside pool was a bit confusing to get to with staff members not being very helpful. Turns out i should have been given a wrist band or a code but got neither. Asked for this at reception but they referred me back to the indoor pool... I enjoyed looking out over the water and marina from the edge of the hotel grounds.

This hotel is in a lovely spot just on the edge of Lymington which is a great place to explore the new forest from. The outdoor pool is lovely and large and because it's only 1.2m deep it warms up nicely in the summer. The changing rooms for the outdoor pool are dingy, and in desperate need of renovation. I was here for a corporate event and I always suspect they give you the worst rooms on those bookings. With that in mind: my room was tired (heavily scuffed walls, rotten balcony and outdoor stairs up to room) with mismatching/missing furniture. The bed/divan was on wheels and it moved when you sat on it and there was a huge gap between the two mattresses meaning it wasn't really a king/you had to sleep on one side. The bathroom was also tired and had a rotten door on the inside from damp. There were no plugs by the bed (little excuse for this when small changes can soon provide usb points from lamps etc). Because there are tables and chairs outside the rooms, people tend to sit there after they have finished drinking - my room was incredibly hot as the windows are tiny - but strongly considered closing windows when I could hear drunken guests chatting and laughing outside my room until 2am. Breakfast is inexplicably served in a bleak canteen like space with really poor choices for the buffet and genuinely eye watering prices for cooked breakfast (inexcusable £6 surcharge for things like avocado on toast). I didn't find the vegetarian options for dinner to be particularly good quality which is disappointing when they proudly display recent awards for their food. Staff were friendly but (relative to the service for our scheduled lunches and coffee breaks) disorganised. Annoying things like never replenishing the fruit bowl (1 banana between all of us over 2 days, underripe oranges aren't a good choice) and not providing enough plates and cutlery for our party just made everything a little bit harder than it needed to be. It's a nice enough place, but very much not the quality and attention you would expect for their price.
Lizzie R — Google review
For £154 per night, I expected a higher standard. Unfortunately, the room fell short. There was poor ventilation or air conditioning, which made the space feel uncomfortably stuffy. While the room was generally clean, the carpets were worn and damaged, and there was a noticeable amount of dust - not terrible, but certainly not what you'd hope for at this price point. Breakfast was not included and cost an additional £26. For that price, I anticipated a more impressive offering. In reality, it was comparable to a Wetherspoons breakfast (without hash browns). On the positive side, the hotel does appear to offer some excellent facilities, including a pool, gym, and spa, and it’s set in a beautiful location. It seems ideal for families. However, as I was only staying for one night and didn’t have the opportunity to use these amenities, I can’t comment on their quality. They may, however, help justify the higher room rate for longer stays. If you’re simply looking for a one-night stay, a Premier Inn would probably be much better of an option. However, if you're planning a family holiday and intend to make use of the hotel’s facilities, it might be worth considering - although pack your own breakfast or find somewhere to go near by.

I stayed here for 1 night for a spa break and it was honestly so lovely and peaceful. The staff were amazing, they couldn't have been more attentive. Special shout out to Ben, our waitor at dinner, he was great! There was also a lady at reception who was so helpful and nice but i forget her name, so sorry! The food was incredible!! Everything we had was delicious. Our rooms were clean and extremely spacious. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. Xx

Been here for couple of days. It's in close vicinity of Lymington. Old heritage but very well maintained. Rooms are good, clean and tidy. Serves only English breakfast. Ample parking. Never tried the restaurant but looks fine. Lots of daily exercise activities you can do from yoga to swimming. Only con in summer is no air conditioner.

A Truly Unforgettable Spa Experience! I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the spa recently with my mum, and from start to finish, the entire experience was nothing short of perfect – all thanks to the incredible team, especially Jamie and Kata. Jamie was an absolute gem from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, organising such a thoughtful and relaxing experience for both me and my mum. His warm, professional manner made us feel so welcome and at ease, and it was clear he genuinely cared about making our visit special. You can tell he takes real pride in his work – he’s a credit to the spa! As for the treatments – wow. Kata gave me the best massage and facial I’ve ever had. Her hands are magic! She was so attentive and in tune with what my body needed, and I left feeling completely refreshed, relaxed, and glowing. Her calming presence and skill made it a truly luxurious experience. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, be pampered, and feel completely looked after, this is it. Thank you so much to Jamie and Kata for making our visit so memorable – we’ll definitely be back!
