Just had my fish&chips here. Everything tasted nice however the portions were too large. Service was friendly, fast and aprochable (especially young girl with glasses-sorry didn't catch your name). Our dog was also allowed in however we had to seat next to the entrance where was really cold everytime the door opened. Overall it was good, I would recommend.

We popped in on Sunday afternoon as we really fancied a fish butty and were very glad we did! Absolutely textbook. Good sized fish, perfectly cooked with crispy great tasting batter. Lovely soft breadcake and the chap who served us fried the fish in twochalves so that it could be easily stacked in the bun. The Pocklington branch would benefit from some training from this guy as the last time I visited their batter was terrible and they also don't let you put your own salt and vinegar on... Very poor.

Often had takeaway, decided to 'dine-in' today and what a pleasure it was. We had the pensioner special, fish, chips, mushy peas with a side of bread & butter, pot of tea and delicious dessert. Everything was perfect, the staff are pleasant and efficient, all freshly prepared hot food and generous tasty puddings. Well done, keep up the good work

Wow. We regularly go for a motorcycle group meet . 32 of us this time. Into the restaurant and seated quickly . The food , staff and service is brilliant . Senior special for me as I'm a small eater ... lol well that went wrong . The senior special is massive . Fish chips and gravy and a pudding . ( 10 choices of pudding . ) portions are very good whatever you order . Toilets are lovely and clean , regularly checked by staff. Well worth a visit .

Had the jumbo haddock, chips and mushy peas. It was absolutely fabulous, I do wish that we could have had the chips between us instead of a portion each. The haddock and peas were actually sufficient. Would definitely recommend this to one and all.

It’s been a long time since we have paid a visit here, so we thought it was time to do a review. Starters. Prawn Cocktail The prawns were well presented in a glass with crisp lettuce and side serving of bread.They were fresh, tasted great and a generous serving. Homemade fish cakes The homemade fish cakes were presented well with fresh salad. They tasted great, we’re light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside and worked well with the salad. They also came as a generous portion for a starter. Mains. Jumbo cod and chips The fish was HUGE this is definitely a portion for two. Although the fish tasted fresh, not too greasy and was nicely battered. Scampi Biggest portion of scampi I’ve seen. Freshly cooked, nice and crisp and tasted nice. The restaurant has a lovely modern interior which is crisp and simple. The staff are polite and friendly and are willing to help in any way they can. Overall the food was good, the staff are excellent the restaurant is clean and tidy. However our main criticism is the portions of food. We were looking forward to a desert however there was simply not enough room left. We would be happy paying the same for less food because it’s great value for money.

Possibly the best fish and chips we have had. Excellent value for the pensioners special. Super service. But do rebook on market day.

The original keys is a nice popular traditional pub. There is a wide selection of beers lager and cider but sadly no cask conditioned real ales. The John Smith's bitter I had was very nice and incredibly only £2.40 a pint. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and there is an outside seating area behind the pub. I will call in again when I am in the area.

We popped in here for lunch. The staff are lovely and friendly and it also welcomes dogs. We wondered what lunch would be like as we were the only customers on a Thursday lunchtime, but we were very pleasantly surprised. I had a ploughman's salad and it was not only beautifully presented,but full of fresh and tasty ingredients. My husband had nachos with spicy chicken and he was very impressed. Believe me, that's hard to achieve. Well done to the staff and thanks very much.

With Driffield not having a lot of food choices we regularly order takeaway from El Dorados and occasionally eat in and normally can't fault the food. However this evening I order double cajun chicken breasts, with extra cajun, as I would normally, after completing in the past. Unfortunately I got 2 chargrilled chicken breasts that don't look like they have ever see a dust of cajun.

It was nice experience, good food, professional service and great spend time. 😁

Restaurant nicely laid out and decorated, also very clean. Friendly service and great portion sizes. Beans & rice went perfectly with our meals, and the mocktail I had was delicious. Will definitely be going back soon.

Never ever eating here again. Gone so downhill. Food an hour late coming and when we rung up they said it was sat waiting for a delivery driver so basically sat there an hour waiting to be delivered and when it got here it was awful and watery sauce and wrong food sent 😭

I’m an absolute curry lover and always disappointed with curry’s around our area but I was really impressed with our curry takeaway tonight. Chicken handi, chicken desi handi and sag aloo. Cooked to perfection and balanced with loads of flavour. Wow really impressed don’t hesitate to get a takeaway from these guys 10/10

Her indoors and myself both have catering backgrounds - so what you may say ? Yes so what ? First time for us with Silsila and you only get one chance to make a first impression. We were going to dine in the restaurant earlier in the week and a very pleasant young lady took the order. When we rang to cancel - as something cropped up last minute, she thanked us for making the effort to call - nice touch from a customer service perspective. Tonight I ordered a takeaway coming back from Leeds and again a friendly young lady took the order and helped me with my choice. Now the important bit - did the food match up to the customer service ? .................you bet it did. Extremely pleased with all the various components of the meals - absolutely delighted all round, good portions, great presentation and fab tastes. Finally, excellent value into the equation. Thank you for a fabulous first experience staff and chef and of course we will be using you again.

We dined in as a table of 6. We had read the reviews on here & were a bit unsure. We walked in, the restaurant was lovely & clean, there was plenty of room for us all to sit comfortably around the table. We ordered various different dishes, the kids had nuggets & chips 🙄 but the 4 adults really enjoyed the dishes we’d chosen. Food was hot, flavoursome, and there was plenty of it. Would definitely recommend & will go again when we come back to visit Granny!

Didn't get the chance to eat .went for a meal with our grandson group of lads were in ..very loud which we could handle but the language was disgusting so we couldn't stay for our grandson to listen to that.. they weren't asked to stop either. Really disappointed as it smelled lovely. We were on holiday from Newcastle

3 of us ordered a mixture of sides and curries to collect, it was absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous, definitely recommend and will 100% order from here again, best Indian in town!

Takeaway. Awful lot of money for 2 people £60, didn't even have rice. Mixed meat, vindaloo not great. Pieces of "meat" gristle throughout. Won't be ordering from there again. Real shame.

We really enjoyed our night. The server couldn't do enough, very chatty and upbeat. The food was great. We had butter chicken, the sauce was rich and creamy and there was a decent chicken to sauce ratio. I had the chefs mixed special which was also nice, a bit of heat but not too much.

Ordered a subway for delivery 21/2hrs before going to work. Had to go to work without having anything to eat as delivery didn’t turn up. Rang subway to ask where my order was explained I needed to go to work. Very rude response told they were busy. Not good enough. Rubbish customer service £32.50 out of pocket Thanks for nothing

Subway your food is fantastic and yummy but the reson why I gave it a 4 star is becuse when you deliver you kinda pack with your food you do much better job when I order it from inside the shop but when it gets delivered hardley any sauce on the natchos and the sandwiches a bit soggy please I just ask u to improve with delivery

Nice staff, quick service. Only complaint is lack of an upstairs for seating and can't see a toilet (I apologise if there is!!!) These things are mostly the fault of the location.

Ham is not ham it is bacon lardons and it’s fake meat processed not even real. As for the pizzas try cutting them rather than stabbing the centre. Absolute joke yet again. My boyfriend ordered food via just eat. Delivery driver arrived to his hotel 8 minutes from the take away, the driver tried to charge him and extra £4 as a delivery fee as it was over 4 miles away??? Drive argued with my boyfriend and called him rude for not paying the £4, even though delivery is included with the order on just eat. Obviously getting cash in hand to pocket and rip people off!!! Food ended up being collected by my partner and it was absolutely rotten, cold, pizza looked horrendous and inedible. Honestly don’t waste your time ordering from here. Take away server had absolutely nothing to say other than suffering and making up excuses for the driver. Says nothing in the terms and conditions on their own website about additional delivery fees! Horrible horrible little robbing *****

Excellent takeaway from Napoli. Always polite on the phone and when delivered, delivery always on time, often arrives early. Generous portions and great value for money. Best kebabs in Driffield. Our regular choice of takeaway.

It's the best takeaway in Driffield in my opinion. The food is always delicious, no matter what you order. It's also very well priced. The staff are always friendly and helpful if you go in and the delivery drivers are always nice too. Delivery times vary, but most of the time they're very quick and usually let you know if there's going to be a delay for any reason. Great little takeaway 👍😁

Well worth the money, we had 1 Chicken Burger meal deal where you can choose sauces and salad and Kabab meal both were amazing it was eaten so quickly I didn’t get pictures. The food was piping hot and my best part was the chips as they were not greasy lovely and crunchy with lovely flavour. Would recommend

I am a big kebab fan ( which five bites dont do ) but when we decide to have a pizza or burger, FB is our ‘go to’ place. We always collect, so never have any delivery issues allowing us to review the food. Ordered 2 calzones last night, both were packed with filling, moist and succulent- you even get dip sauce. In direct contrast, my wife had one from another takeaway earlier in the week which was reportedly dry, devoid of filling and, worse still, burnt - very poor quality control on their part. We’ve also had multiple burgers from FB, all have been quality. Whilst it may be true that the prices are a little more than other takeaways in Driffield, if the standard is consistently high, this is a small price to pay.

Fist time visit..£12 for a burger and chips..95p of which was for the bag and ‘service charge’ service for what? the order was pickup! Burger a complete tray of slop.. Grim shop with no atmosphere.. Absolute rip off!

Excellent Sunday roast which was piping hot and delicious. Lovely raspberry sponge pudding and custard to follow. The owners are so friendly, nothing too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend a visit.

The pizza was lovely. They have a great deal on pizza 🍕 It was slightly over cooked. And it was very late but still came nearly hot.

Unfortunately these guys are incapable of getting orders correct. Each time we order, something is either missing or incorrect. It's not difficult to read & deliver a correct order. Once you've played food roulette, the quality of food isn't generally bad. (Only saving grace)

Shocking!! Recently moved to driffield and it's just cost nearly £22 for two burgers and chips and a garlic bread, more salad than burger and tastes of nothing, never again may I add the burgers were nearly £7 each without chips

Awful. Won't order again. "Ham" on the pizza smelled and looked bizarre I even called to check what it was as it doesn't seem right and the person couldn't have been less interested. My husband and son tried picking it off and eating the pizza but it mostly went in the bin. My mushroom pizza was marginally better but the chips all had grey spots on them and we're delivered in melted polystyrene box. £23 mostly in the bin.

This used to be our go to place but will never visit again, ordered a special mixed kebab with sauces and salad, doner meat was dry and crispy, beef/lamb was like pebbles from the beach and it only got worse. Also ordered a large Donner calzone with extra cheese and onion, very disappointing and very thin of filling, poor is giving it a compliment and it doesn't even deserve the one star given, very disappointed and wont be back.

If you want a fast takeaway don't use these guys nice food shame about the rubbish service ..ordered food through just eat at 6i00pm to be delivered at 645 food finally came at745 after 4 phone calls and promised free food for inconvenience after one more phone call finally arrived at 840 2 hrs and 40 mins to deliver isn't good. sorry

Bought a steak bake.. it had split and had no filling. Second one … no steak, jus gravy. I love Gregg’s and I alway put up good reviews for all eatery’s. This was disappointing. Hot chocolate was perfect.

Average greggs are convenient as they are always the first open on a morning. Hence, they seem to be the most busy bakers. It's a shame thomas the bakers don't open early as in my eyes nobody would choose greggs over them. The only thing I get from greggs is a pan au chocolat to tie me over until thomas opens

A really good breakfast had by all, 2 veggie & 2 meat breakfasts not greasy at all, even the fried bread. The bacon was nice thick quality bacon & the sausage was tasty, veggie sausage was just ok but that is just personal choice, i prefer the herby type & the skin was funny. Really busy place would recommend to all & we will come back.

If you want a proper full English breakfast with good quality ingredients, tasty beans, tomatoes, hash browns & butchers sausages I highly recommend here. Clean & plenty of space inside too, free parking.

Easy 5 star. Highly recommended! These little gems are oft times 100% golden nuggets tucked away on industrial estates. Marvelous little place. Chirpy, friendly, cheerful and very welcoming staff. Lovely, clean, tidy caff with clean, pleasant smelling loos. Has about 30 covers inside and more sheltered seating outside. Lots of homemade profferings on the menu from the coleslaw to the pies. Vegetarian options. Very reasonably priced menu. I paid £7.75 for a good plateful veggie brekky, including a mug of tea and a round of toast. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would definitely visit again. Thank you! Very happy customer.

Had a large and Medium breakfast here today with the wife. Staff friendly and helpful.. breakfast was HUGE and very good quality.... although I would order a smaller breakfast next time... well done all those who work there.. fantastic I will be visiting again 👍

Superb experience. My partner & I turned up without a reservation for lunch on Sunday and it was busy, I suspect from the lovely weather. We assumed we would be turned away as it looked full but the team checked the system and managed to squeeze us in as a table was finished early enough to do so and we were really grateful. They sat us in the bar and took drinks orders whilst we waited which was a great touch. Within minutes our table was ready and we ordered. The food was phenomenal. I had the chicken burger which was extremely tasty and the chicken was huge! My partner had the Tuscan pasta and it looked delicious. Just like the burger, the pasta was a large portion and had tonnes of chicken and sauce in it. Both meals tasted beautiful. The lady serving us was really attentive and couldn’t have done anything else to make our meal any better. Once we were done we took some of the almond biscuits with us to eat later and they literally melt in the mouth, so tasty too! To say the team were clearly very busy, the overall experience and the quality of the food was top notch. We would strongly recommend and would definitely return, maybe next time booking in advance as we may not be so lucky with the slot the team so attentively made for us. 10/10

We are staying on site, and attended earlier in the day for a coffee which was delicious. Served by Claudia who was very friendly and attentive. Had booked an evening meal for 17:30, arrived slightly early, was absolutely fine by the staff, we were seated and we ordered. Our meals were delicious. Had the chicken burger, Beef Ragu, Beef Brisket pizza and a selection of starters. Delicious. There was a small problem with the Coke Zero on draught which was corrected quickly. Servers Claudia and Stacey. Thank you, we had a lovely time.

A very nice pizzeria by a small lake. The choice of food and the quality were very good. The waiting time was short. Dog friendly and the floors were clean. The staff was also very nice.

Bert's was recommended to us as we were staying locally and decided to give it a go one evening. The signage to the restaurant could definitely be better given how many "Bert" things are on the same location. The setting overlooking the lake is great and the food quality and portion size excellent, and the pasta dishes were really tasty and nicely presented. We also chose a side portion of onion rings, on the face of it a very simple addition, but Bert's really know how to do onion rings!

Met with good friends for lunch on Saturday. Thoroughly impressed with amazing food and wonderful friendly service from a lovely young lady called Erin. Had starters to share, pizzs, a pasta and deserts to share - all excellent. Not cheap but worth every penny. Just the right amount of time for service, attentive but not intrusive. Really lovely decor, setting and atmosphere and the view over the lake was beautiful. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Seven family members came here to celebrate my daughters birthday and my parents 67th wedding anniversary. All I can say all of us had a different meal, all enjoyed it, came out together and piping hot. As for price, I thought it was very reasonable by today's standards, ive paid a lot more for less tasty quality food. Would i recommend? 100% yes yes yes

It's a nice enough place, however, not very warm inside and the food is good. Portion sizes are a bit small for the cost and it took some time for food to come out. We had to ask. And when 1 of 3 meals was sent back, it took ages to get back. Only a couple of ales available. We wasn't told about the specials board until after our meal. The desserts were very nice though, so good that I had one.. would we go back, probably not.

Just had an amazing meal at The Dacre Arms. The food was hearty and delicious and the service was exemplary. We were walk ins and it was obvious that they were busy and about to get busier however, we were made to feel very welcome and shown straight to a table. I ordered the homemade steak pie and was offered my choice of potatoes and vegetables. My hubby got the steak and onion baguette which was served with salad, coleslaw and homemade chips. On the checkback, I was asked if I wanted more gravy and was promptly delivered some. Our server was an absolute delight, cheerful and polite. This was our best experience of dining out this week whilst visiting the East coast of Yorkshire. Thank you Dacre Arms, a real gem!

First time I’ve been, food was amazing, I had the Korean spiced chicken and it was tasty and the carrot and apple provided the textures as well. Friendly service and good choice on the menu. Highly recommended , was busy on a friday lunchtime.

Dropped in as we were in the area and luckily they had a table free. My son and I both had fish and chips - this is a gastropub so you're paying a bit more for the meal but it's reflected in the quality. Truly the lightest, crispy beer better I've ever had and a good size portion too. The size you'd actually get from the chip shop. Good chips and a huge amount of peas, and served with what I think was home made tartare sauce - really delicious. In fact there was so much food that I had to pass on dessert. My son had the lemon meringue cheesecake which he loved. I had a taste and was instantly transported back to being 10 years old and the lemon meringue pie my mum used to make - they'd captured the flavour exactly and it blew my mind. I haven’t tasted that flavour in 40 years. They just charge once for chilled bottled water - I imagine you can get a free tap water if you ask (I usually do) but the bottle was already brought to you at the start which is maybe a bit cheeky since you pay for it but didn't ask for it - but we got through 2 bottles plus bar drinks so fair enough. The two wait staff we had were the model of friendly politeness, credit to them for an excellent job. The Welly is definitely worth the trip if you like an unusual and upmarket gadtro meal. Giving the Pipe and Glass a run for its money.

Called in for Sunday Lunch, it was VERY nice. Lovely looking pub, friendly attentative staff. The food was spot on, recommend the scallops and black pudding for starters, main was melt in the mouth roast beef, an Orange cake for dessert. Well worth a visit.

The occasion was my wife’s 65th. The room and table was perfect for our party of 14 people. The food was as usual delicious and nicely served. The mushroom soup was the highlight of the starters; never tasted mushroom soup so good ; however the halibut for me whilst fresh and perfectly cooked did not work with the chorizo and spicy sauce. Our table was tended to by a young female who stated it was her first time. She didn’t have to worry; she did an amazing job. All in all everyone enjoyed the whole evening.

Visited for the sandwiches at lunchtime. The sandwiches were served in fantastic granary bread. The fillings were very well made. The chips were top 3 I've ever had. Really it's a gorgeous pub well worth visiting if you're considering it.

Already planning my next visit as everything on the menu sounds amazing, definitely getting the cheeses. What a treat to be staying nearby. Stopped here for lunch as part of a walk we were doing in the area. Had the steak pie with triple cooked chips followed by passion fruit cheesecake with mango sorbet, both were delicious. The service was also excellent, with friendly attentive staff.

We had a beautiful sunny scenic drive to the inn. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The steak pie and beer battered haddock were nicely presented and very tasty. Portions were generous but we did manage dessert. Very nice old world inn. Will be visiting again and would recommend.

What a little gem! We visited yesterday with family and were blown away by the quality of food and fabulous service. Hubby said was the best steak pie he had ever had…. a big statement from a 57 year old. We will be back although over an hour from where we live.

Excellent hospitality and service. My husband and I were warmly greeted and taken to our table which had our names on it which I thought was a lovely personal touch. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime so a roast was a must. The staff were extremely attentive and one lady was amazing making sure all diners were happy with everything. I had roast chicken and hubby had the beef. It was served with all the trimmings and was delicious. For dessert, we were given a menu but this lovely lady recommended the chocolate orange cheesecake which came with choc orange icecream on the specials board. Oh it was amazing and not a small portion either. Heaven on a plate. The welcome and service was first class and we will definitely be visiting again while we are staying in the area.

Had a splendid meal in a nice restaurant in a good location at a super price. 3 people had starters, Sunday lunch with sweets and drinks and coffees for under £100. The food was perfectly cooked a d great attention to customers from staff. We had if anything a bit too much to eat so two of us took home the excess to eat later. This is the second time in a year we have travelled 90 minutes to eat there. The first was by accident. Today was by design. Worth the trip for a set of three all over 69 year olds. Thought recommended!!!

Popped in for Sunday lunch, hadn’t booked but they managed to squeeze us in, in to what was a busy pub. Food was excellent, nice and hot, and excellent quality. Service was great, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend coming here if you are in the area.

Really rude, gave me a menu then when I went to order said I can't order if I haven't booked a table. Said I can have pizza and sent me outside to order, which I then was told I needed to order at the bar. Didn't end up getting anything as was a total mess around. Really disappointed as heard good reviews. We felt really unwelcome, as we wasnt a regular customer we were more of a hinderance. Won't be returning.

It's about a year or so since our last visit but nothing has changed? It's still a trip back to the 80's in it's style and while the food is "ok," and there are plenty of Italian eateries in the area that I've experienced that are now better in atmosphere, service and food. The premises were quiet on arrival and steady throughout our visit but the service was slow. Sorry folks but I'm doubtful we will be returning any time soon when I know we can do better? ☹️

A cold Monday night saw us visit Marco Polo’s for a meal out. I have been loads when I was younger and nothing much has changed. We rang up and booked ahead of time and then on the night was greeted by a few staff members. We were hosted by a new starter and was her first ever table! We ordered some starters and mains to come out all at once which they were happy to do. Food came out after about 15 minutes and all had great taste barring the fried squid which admittedly was somewhat bland. Everything is priced well too which is great. You can also book party bookings. Will definitely be back for sure!

Very disappointed with the cleanliness, service (Ben was the exception, cleaning and clearing), and food. My dinner guest's food was good, hence the two stars 🌟 🌟 I had been looking forward to an authentic lasagne,ordered a lasagne, when it arrived it was a lasagne in a bath of kinda lasagne flavoured water (see pictures). I fished out the robust block from the bath, tried it and it wasn't great, I had ordered wedges which were delicious, I dipped them in the bath and it was tasteless. I tried to make eye contact with the waiter who was busy collecting and washing the glasses and clearing tables, the waitress was talking to some ladies on table 4. My dining guest was half way through the meal when I left table 1 and went up to the waiter who was busy trying to clean up and let him know i wasn't happy with the meal. He took it away and offered to get the chef to plate me up another one. I had honestly lost my appetite for lasagne by now and said i didn't want it replaced but thanked him for the offer. I ate the delicious wedges, we finished, waited then got up and stood at the bar waiting for the bill. The waitress asked if we'd enjoyed our meal. I said i thought it was obvious it wasn't. She said they had had a busy party before we arrived. I said i understood,i had been a waitress before and thought that it was important that things were cleared away and cleaned up before socialising. I hoped she didn't mind my honest feedback. She said it was only her and Ben. I said I saw and I saw Ben was working hard to clear up. Well done if you got this far. I don't write lightly. This is a favourite pizzaria in Driffield and my view might not be popular. I've added photos of the food that was left by the table next to us (long gone). There was also chips in the corner diagonally opposite us, I didn't take a photo as guests had been sat there too. The food on the floor was on the floor on our arrival and was still there when we left about an hour later. Hope I've been constructive. Ben removed the cost of the lasagne from the bill.

Went here for dinner with a friend and ruby was the only good server there that night who had tendered to my every request and was amazing. Though the other staff were slow to offer any support. We waited till someone would notice us and ask if we wanted Parmesan but alas nobody did and we had to chase them down. It’s typically a lovely place to dine and spend time with family but on this particular night the service was unjustifiable and negligent, unsatisfactory.

This is our first time to Marco Polo and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The young lad serving us was very polite and attentive and the food was very tasty. The portions are large and well worth the money. We will be back. Thank you

Our first choice when popping out for tea and first choice for the kids too. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is delicious and the kids LOVE the bunny pizzas. Thanks for making our memories lovely!

Service prompt and absolutely superb. Food was really good and tasty. Hopefully will be back once my brother and his wife move to Driffield. Portions are a good size and filling 10/10.

Very busy but the staff were excellent and got us seated and served very quickly. We had the Steak and Ale pie and they offered extra gravy! It was delicious! We finished with a cheesecake (the biggest slice I've ever seen) and a delicious crumble. We would recommend and we'll definitely visit again if in the area.

We researched dog friendly pubs with good food, a real village history and atmosphere near Bridlington... and found The Old Star. It fitted the spec perfectly and more! The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional and the guest draft beer was local to the area. We will return!

What an amazing Sunday dinner! highly recommend. Driving back from the East coast and popped in to see if they could fit two of us at last minute, I’m so glad they could. 1 Beef dinner & 1 lamb dinner and big portions. Best Sunday dinner by far and friendly staff.

Great little village pub, friendly staff and great service. locals and visitors seem to mix seamlessly. Food was lovely, I ordered 2 pints and a steak baguette and it was a plateful. Recommended stopoff

Excellent cooking, with a different take on some pub classics. All the young staff are extremely efficient as well as being friendly and welcoming, which was especially nice as we were tourists, not even locals. We enjoyed it so much that we went 3 times in the one week we were in the area! A bonus that it was open all week, and busy in the evenings we went, which is quite unusual these days. They're obviously doing something right!

We visited the Old Star Inn in Kilham on Sunday without having booked a table beforehand. The service was second to none. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and attentive. The place was busy but we were immediately found a nice table. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. A great selection of drinks to choose from. It's very clear to see why this venue receives so many five star reviews and we will definitely be returning. The venue is also dog friendly.

We were looking for a place to eat on a Monday after a walk at Flamborough. We found the old star on our way back to York. We went into a lovely welcome and we ordered our late lunch, 2 steaks( cooked and seasoned to perfection ) a lasagne and a pie. I couldn’t fault anything and if I lived in the village it would definitely be my regular. Also nice to see a real fire just when things are turning a bit autumnal. We will definitely return if we are in the area.

I had the pleasure of staying at Highfield Hotel, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had in England. As a guest, I was warmly welcomed and treated with genuine care and respect throughout my stay. A special thanks to Lindsey and the rest of the staff, who were absolutely fantastic, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The room was very clean, elegant, and well maintained, offering excellent comfort and value for money. The traditional British charm of the hotel made the stay even more special, creating a homely and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, this was a wonderful experience that exceeded my expectations. I felt completely comfortable and included, and I would highly recommend Highfield Hotel to anyone looking for genuine hospitality and comfort in England.

Fantastic restaurant, the house is has its own unique charm, more importantly…beautiful high cuisine!!! The ladies that looked after us were so lovely and attentive!!! We’re definitely booking again! We stayed in the four poster 1610 room and found it to be a delight. The room was exceptionally clean with lots of extras from dressing gowns to shampoos. We spent the afternoon walking around the woods and sitting in the lovely grounds enjoying the good weather. We had dinner in the restaurant at a great table by the window. After a look through the excellent menu we chose the sea bas and what a brilliant choice. The fish was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Compliments to the chef. After a good nights sleep we breakfasted on a full english, which again was cooked perfectly and very filling. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this hotel 100% and will definately be coming back for another very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Went for afternoon tea. Friendly welcome and attentive service. Imaginative adaptations to normal offering for non-meat eaters. Good quality food, including freshly baked (very large!) scones - four for two people.

Dinner for two. Ambience good . Waited nearly a hour for food. Not worth waiting for. Steak overcooked and doubt it was a fillet. Lamb disappointing. Chips looked as if cooked in dirty oil and not properly cooked.Wine £25 a half bottle,not good quality. Left early without finishing food and feeling totally disappointed.Never again

Went for the first time with friends for drinks. Sat outside initially which was lovely, then went inside once it got slightly chillier. Unfortunately the room where we sat either had automatic motion lights or the lights had an issue because they kept turning on and off and at different levels. We ordered rather expensive champagne and unfortunately this came without a bucket of ice.

Iv been going to this restaurant since I was little and I wpukd always always get the Mild Khema, best reteraunt iv ever been to.Service is not speedy but still pretty fast and the staff are really sweet. IT IS GORGOUSE INSIDE! so pretty and lots of space aswell as toilet and an upstairs. Highly recommend you go!

Excellent, excellent, and excellent! From the moment we arrived, it was a pleasant experience. Abdul Rob makes you welcome with a banter I enjoyed. He guided and advised us through the menu. We selected and asked for extra fresh chilli, which he accommodated. This small, unassuming restaurant turns out the most amazing dishes. The chef with the magic touch is Miah. A talented chef with a control and balance of flavours. My Trishna Tandoori experience was very memorable because of the food. It's a must visit if you like Indian food. It's not on my high street . It was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Food was excellent, plenty of it, reasonable price and enough for a doggy bag. Only downside was being asked to drink up at 9.45 as it closed at 10pm on a Saturday which we found a little early. Nice small friendly restaurant though.

Spot on. Lovely. Best in all East Yorkshire! Probably. Nice house red wine great appetisers - best pickle tray imaginable and fabulous main. Got squiffy. Enjoyed a long and scrumptious meal. The wine was so agreeable we had to have two bottles! Service perfect.

Delicious, fresh tasting food here last night! Staff were friendly and fast to help when ordering anything. Offered to refill any of the poppadom sauces if we needed more. Easy to find and some parking available nearby (though not specifically for the restaurant). Highly recommended!

Lovely food and great service but it’s terribly expensive for a takeaway meal the restaurant is dreadfully rundown and the owners need to spend some cash to bring it back to life. It’s so depressing and cold and looks like it could do with a blinking good clean! Also, the owners needs to stop kids on iPads watching tv and people on video calls in the restaurant. For god sake, some of us go out to escape this behaviour. Just eat your Chinese and forget about technology for 10 minutes!!! No draught beer or other drinks left, only option was the bottles than cost a lot more for a lot less drink. The waitresses were completely honest and upfront and said they have run out and don’t take notice of the levels. So it’s bottles only. Money making scheme that! I don’t like being ripped off….£4 for a 330ml beer! This place needs to get its act together and stop thinking it’s acceptable to just bob along ripping customers off.

After reading the reviews we had mixed expectations. On arrival we were greeted warmly. As a party of 3 we were seated quickly and a drinks order given. Our order was taken by young lady with a warm welcome and lovely smile. Our starters, main meals were delicious ( Singapore vermicelli noodles especially delicious). Overall it's worth a visit despite the negative reviews. ENJOY

Absolutely a rip off for the same price in hornsea at the golden wok you can feed a family of four compared to this place I can't believe how little you get at this place and the food isn't spectacular either I can only say that I won't be going back there I will wait till I'm in hornsea and go to the golden wok where you get what you pay for and the food is out of this world if I could give this place a 0 rating I would absolutely ripped off here you might consider your portion size and quality of food in future

Just finished my lovely Cantonese style Duck dish. Lovely had a chow mein taking that home was lovely. Also had chicken satay duck spring rolls and salt and pepper chicken all was stunning. Thanks again staff where great and welcoming and as we saw good with kids. Will be back again.

The Water Margin is one of our 'go to' restaurants in Driffield. You are always made welcome, and our visit yesterday was no exception. Jeanette was in very good form, and the staff were very engaging and made our meal incredible fun. The food was first class as always, and the Sunlik slipped down a treat. Another pleasant dining experience, thank you.

Poor management, shouting at the young staff in the restaurant - not acceptable at all. Banquet Dynasty was not worth the money as only 2 - 4 pieces of meat in each main course so for £56 it's shockingly over priced. Young staff at the front of house were lovely though. Will not return again and I'm also putting a negative review on TripAdvisor.

Really nice food and reasonable price. There salt and pepper chips are the best I have ever had. The staff are really friendly. I will definitely be going there again soon.

Could not rate food because we did not stay. The place looks run down and out dated. The so called greeter, well she was loud abrupt and very rude. Showed us to our table, threw the menus on it and walked off. She then returned with a small dish with 4 prawn crackers on it and dropped them in the center of the table. We then picked up the menus. They were sticky and should have been thrown in the bin. We decided to leave and travel 30 miles to our favourite Indian in Hull. Appalling attitude from staff and very dirty. Avoid at all costs.

We visited this restaurant/ takeaway the week of 18th Sept. We were the only ones in there eating in, so it felt a bit weird. However, the 2 young ladies who were hosting did a lovely job of tending to us and informing us of certain dishes. Very friendly hosts! My first thoughts were, wow this place needs a good hoover! The house keeping is pretty poor and should not be this dirty. If it looks like this here, what's the kitchen like? We placed our order and the food arrived quickly. The food was nice, but portion size was stingy! We'd have probably been better to have gotten a takeaway as you get more in a carton. Sweet and sour sauce heavily watered down. It wasn't a bad meal, just could've been better, would i go back to the restaurant again? No, but I might try a takeaway.

4 star health rating for kitchen if that bothers you. Average price, food not top drawer, drinks menu was sticky through not being wiped down. Probably go again as not much choice in the area.

A lovely 30 minute drive to this lovely little pub. A really warm and friendly welcome, and a nice choice of ales. The food is amazing, and quickly served too. We had the steak pie with all the trimmings, and a Sunday beef roast...just delicious, and up there with one of the best pies I've tried. If you're in the area or live nearby, you really should give this place a visit. It is quite popular so maybe book a table first.

Evening meal with all the family. Tuesday pie night is a must! Choice of 4 or 5 home cooked, delicious pies. I opted for the lamb and mint, which was superb. Plenty of gravy on the side too. Family had the turkey and stuffing pie, which had a crust of stuffing instead of pastry so was a little lighter. Also chicken and ham pie. All were beautiful. An amazing location right by the village duck pond. Great ales and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Best Sunday Roast in Yorkshire! I have tried many pubs with my friend in the area for Sunday lunch but was so impressed with the portion size, the friendly staff & location next to pond, ducks & willow tree. Cannot recommend this place anymore was travelling around in our motorhome and stumble on this little gem.but to find they did not do food till 5 o’clock but as we stood outside looking at the board and making a decision if we could wait that long the chef came out to us And offered his services out of the hours stated . which to our surprise as we’ve never experienced this before he offered a home-made pie which was out of this world and great value for money cannot recommend enough 5 🌟 from us

Visited The Star Inn with a group of 7 other girls for a carvery. The staff were really lovely and friendly and the carvery was absolutely “AMAZING”. Very tasty, hot, pies were full of filling, great value for money. Huge compliments to the Chef, one of the best carveries we’ve had!! Would highly recommend.

I feel terrible leaving this review. We decided to have a meal here because of all the 5 stars. But our meal was far from 5 star. I had the fish...dry, garden peas...dry, chips...dry and crispy. The only good thing about going was the location. The staff are lovely though.

This is going to be one of those reality check reviews. I work in the hospitality industry and the prices here are just plain crazy. Even working on the age old 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 formula charging sandwiches out at £6.90 plus £1.70 for a meagre portion of chips is just not economically fair on the consumer. There is no way the sandwiches cost you £2.30 to plate up - purely with the amount of filling offered. Where we sat our table was not clean neither the two next to us, there was food on the floor and on the seats too which we wiped away. Alot of staff walking around doing not alot. Basic things like dirty menus is just reprehensible (see photo) - my first visit to this establishment and I am really confused as to how you have the rating you do. Worse to come very poorly maintaned furniture I received a deep cut on my finger from the wobbly legs, replaced with another that was no different. Restrooms were dirty too paper and water/urine on the floor. In this day and age where everyone is competing for the same £ and you have to go the extra mile it appears the ownership have given up. Extremely disappointing......

We were looking for somewhere to have coffee and spotted Cafe Leon across the street. The entrance looked tiny but we realised it was simply the way into a staircase upto the cafe on the first floor. On a miserable Wednesday lunchtime the cafe was buzzing and many tables were full or already reserved. Clientele was across the ages from families with very young children to pensioners. It is also dog friendly. There was a good selection of food on the menu, together with a specials board. Drinks were priced as expected but we thought the food was rather overpriced. I asked about gluten free options and was shown the cakes listed as gluten free but none were labelled as such. All cakes were clingfilmed whether gf or not. Unless there was a lift which we missed there is no disabled access. I liked the decor and the staff were polite and professional.

What a lovely little cafe, Food was delicious and price was great value. I’m very shocked to see some unpleasant reviews, the staff were great and very polite, they were all very well trained. Tables were cleaned and tidied as soon as people left, food was hot and fresh. Would definitely come back if in the area, Will also recommend. Keep up the good work. It’s hard to find a lovely little cafe like this these days.

Visited this cafe today as previous cafe visited last month in Driffield was closed today for some renovation. 2 young ladies seen, one was serving and the other in the kitchen area that could just be seen. She gave a nice smile as she looked out. Service was quick with tea and food received within 5 minutes of ordering. Waitress was pleasant and efficient. I had a BLT sandwich with coleslaw and salad. Excellent quality of food and very tasty. My only disappointment was I thought the tea could have been in a larger cup as it seemed quite small compared to other cafes I have visited over the years. I have to visit Driffield monthly on business in future months and will certainly pay this cafe a visit on a regular basis for breakfast now I know its location.

We wanted to stop at a pub for lunch but none of the pubs seemed to be serving food, someone suggested that we try cafe Leon. The food seemed quite overpriced £9.90 for jacket potato with beans and cheese: the potato wasn’t even crispy on the outside. The flatbread with steak and onion was £11: it was tasty but quite small. I wouldn’t go back. The staff were nice though, and the place is dog friendly.

A lovely tasteful place for a coffee or snack. I think of it as a "Betty's for Driffield". Reasonable prices pleasant staff. I've not eaten here but the food looks good.

Incredible food, fantastic service. Try the ham & brie starter with chutney. It's too die for! The mushroom and pesto linguine was one of the best pasta dishes I've tried in a long time.

Turned up without a booking, and the very helpful staff squeezed us in. Quirky, friendly pub / bar / restaurant. Chose from the street food menu and was very pleased. Enjoyed everything. Will visit again.

During our holiday in the area we saw this pub on google maps and so emailed to book a table. We arrived and ordered our drinks. We were served by Lucy and she was so friendly and chatty with me and my children. We were shown to our table and told about the extensive choice of pies on offer. We ordered 4 pies and a scampi for a child. I ordered mash with mine and was later informed no mash was available so opted for chips, no problem. Lucy allowed my son to have garden and mushy peas with his scampi and I chose carrots. The pies arrived and we were not disappointed, they were definitely worth the wait. Lucy brought us a huge boat of onion gravy to go with our pies. You can choose a smaller pie if you cannot face the big ones and believe me they're huge. We all really enjoyed our meals and wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend this establishment to others. We're so glad we found this hidden gem. Sadly we had no room for dessert and I suspect many people don't. We'd like to thank Lucy and her team for making us feel so welcome and for the delicious home cooked food and beer.

Nice little pub despite the faded decor. The fireplace is a nice touch that gives the place a homely feel. Had the beef, mushroom and Guinness pie for lunch on a Sunday. The meal was absolutely amazing. The pie was freshly made so it took a little while to arrive but was eventually brought out by the chef. When it arrived the pie was a lot bigger than expected and was almost more than I could handle. The pastry was great - not too try and crumbly, perfectly baked. The filling was tasty too and the pie was definitely filled to capacity. On the plate was also an assortment of vegetables - cauliflower, carrots, runner beans, broccoli. Also there was a choice of chunky chips or mashed potatoes.

Great to have Lucy back doing what she does best. Friendly and warm pub with great food. Lucy has nailed gluten free pastry!!! Being coeliac I struggle to find places that really understand and embrace gluten free food. My pie was as big and tasty as the normal pies and genuinely the BEST GLUTEN FREE I have ever tasted. If you are gluten intolerant you MUST try these pies.

One of North Yorkshire gems, so don't be put off by its looks, we nearly were and would have regretted it. The hosts were so welcoming and we felt a great ease with our two young grandchildren. The food was absolutely delicious, the best gammon I have tasted, and the range of freshly made pies was unbelievably. Our first visit last night after hearing nothing but good things about the place. Quirky old school pub made a nice change from the usual franchise type of pub we usually eat at. We arrived at the same time as a party of 9 that had pre ordered their food so we had to wait our turn. This was no issue at all as the waitress explained what was happening and was very apologetic. The food was amazing but be warned that the pies are HUGE. None of us finished them so no room for pudding - next time we will ask for a small one. Massive selection of pie flavours. I had scampi and it was crispy and golden with proper chips and peas. Overall a great experience with lovely food and friendly staff.

Just called in for drinks, which were very reasonably priced. Order at the counter, then waitress service just let down by a couple of things. Back of the cafe towards the counter, very dark as the hanging lights were not on or didn't work. The sofa in the window is a bit tatty and soon could do with replacing. Overall, it's worth a visit

This is our second visit to Café Culture and we really like the place, hence we came back. The coffee is excellent. Now let me say here this is my personal feedback based on MY needs and expectations and I'm sure many will disagree as they would have different needs and expectations. I had the Ploughman's Scone, which is described on the menu board as "A warmed savoury cheese scone served with pickle, pickled onions, and two slices of mild cheddar." I would describe the scone as barely warmed and lacking any cheesy flavour, the sandwich pickle was fine but the 5 small pickled onions were served with no means of picking them up other than fingers, which were then covered in vinegar. The mild cheese slices were less than generous and of the tasteless plastic cheese variety. I give this personal opinion in the hope that the proprietors may wish to review this offering, other a nice little café.

Popped in for coffee and a snack. Great soya cappuccino, with no extra charge for alternative milk and a ploughman's scone. All served with a smile at a good price. X

I absolutely loved this place! Visited for the first time and was immediately greeted with kindness and politeness. All of the staff were lovely and respectful. I asked for a sample and they didn't hesitate. The food came in about under 10 minutes, not cold at all. The cafe itself was cute decor aswell!

Had a lovely lunch today with my daughter. All fresh ingredients, wide selection, great service, good value for money. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely be returning again soon. Wheelchair accessible, small step but wide door so easy to manoeuvre. Lovely place👍

CAFÉ CULTURE make a tremendous oak milk latte. We always come here when visiting Driffied. Our usual is a pot of tea, oat milk latte, crumpets for other half & a teacake for me. Always spotlessly clean. Prices are a little more expensive than some cafes I've visited but you pay for what you enjoy.

In a nutshell!....Great renovation, great location, super table staff, appalling owners/management!! I can't even review the food because after an hour and a half of waiting we didn't receive any!! We arrived to a fairly quiet restaurant area. We ordered, we talked, we drank. The area gradually filled up and food was coming out to other tables no problem. We waited and waited, no food and no explanation so we asked where our food was? Our food had gone to another table (apparently!) so we made the decision to leave. This place was recommended to us and after that experience we definitely won't be returning or recommending it to anyone!! On a positive note we moved onto Marco Polo's Italian restaurant in Driffield that accommodated us at the last minute!! Staff were wonderful, food was excellent and from ordering, it was on our table within ten minutes! Marvellous....10/10.

Myself and the family thought we would check out this newly renovated establishment, we live fairly close and our normal local pub has significantly gone down hill, so we embarked on a quiet Saturday afternoon. This was to celebrate my son’s new purchase of his first house. On arrival, the pub looks great, but once you get in you notice it’s actually quite small. We went to sit down as a family, but couldn’t. All tables reserved!!!!!!!! We asked the bar staff is there any where to site as a family and we were able to sit on a reservation table for a short while. Will I return, No. it’s not welcoming especially to find all tables are reserved you don’t feel like a valued paying customer. I hope the management sees this as positive feedback. If the owners went out to a recommended pub, and on arrival there was nowhere to site. They would feel the same. To be honest, on arrival I ordered drinks for my family without noticing the tables were all reserved. If I’d of known I’d of left straight away.

Recommended to us by neighbours so gave it a try. Booked a table by phone just in case. Great welcome and good choice of drinks. Was shown to our table and were quickly served our starters. We had soup and pate. Both were delicious. Our main meals were chicken salad and I had jumbo fish and chips. Both were very generous portions. The fish was freshly cooked, really white flesh. Waiters were very polite and professional. The bill was very reasonable. We will be back and will recommend The Trout to our friends and family.

Lunch with a friend today. Extensive menu. More than generous portions, freshly cooked and delicious. Waiting staff were pleasant and couldn’t have been more helpful. A great renovation, I remember the pub from many years ago. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to friends.

We were treated to a very special evening by engaging, friendly hosts, Ian and Paul. I had trout which was large and gorgeous, my friend had Scampi, which he really enjoyed. We had between us 4 different real ales from a choice of 8, they really keep their beers well. Then came the highlight, a whisky tasting of Paul’s NZ whiskies, which are superb. Paul then treated us to a dram of a very special and expensive whisky, which was especially generous of him. A wonderful night.

We had a booking on 7th August at 1:00 pm for 4 people. We all had mains and drinks, and to be totally honest, everything was spot on. We were very happy — which makes it all the more perplexing that, around the same time, others visited and gave only 1 star! The food was excellent, great value for money, and we’ll 100% be visiting again in the not-too-distant future.

Came here for a sunday lunch and thought it was great. Prices are good for what you get and portions are very reasonable. The parsnips however were rock hard and freezing cold. However everything else was hot and great quality. The only downside is if you have a dog you are in the separate area to rhe restaurant which is understandable but they use it as a overflow for the bar and waiting area so irs crowded while you are sat in the centre of the room eating your tea. Especially when there are mothers with prams and no spacial awareness. Would go again but maybe just for a drink on the jetty in tbe summer again and a nibble in the bar.

We stopped off here on way back from caravan. It was busy when we arrived, but we found a table easily and was served quick. We had 3 regular breakfasts and 1 beans on toast for our toddler. Food was very fast out and delicious. 10/10

Fabulous roadside cafe. Super welcoming and friendly staff with a fantastic menu. Absolutely loads of home cooked, great size meals at a great price. Will certainly go back and 100% recommend 👌 👍 😀 lots of free parking round the back too. Didn't take any photos sadly.

Been coming here for years now and never had reason to complain until today. £13 for a large breakfast ( 2 of everything) which when it came was a standard breakfast everywhere else. £35 for 2 breakfasts and sausage on toast with tea and coffee is very excessive. Bring back the original owners when it was good value and busy unlike today empty and expensive

This Cafe deserves all the stars I can give it. Brilliant food, the best customer services and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Warley Cross is very Biker friendly and holds bike nights too throughout the warmer months. I couldn't recommend this place enough, it's absolutely brilliant.

Went for breakfast on first day of hols. Food was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Was quiet but atmosphere was pleasant and dog friendly.

Really great cafe. Very clean, nice decor. We had the breakfast baps were very tasty. Dog friendly the staff were lovely with our wheaten. The specials were giant Yorkshire puddings with various fillings which did look very good, think we will be trying next time! We would definitely return and would recommend.

Iv been coming to this takeaway for a few months now never a problem food is nice. 14th Feb illl not be coming back. I was watching them through the window as I was waiting for the food. Two of the staff was vapein inside the shop. This was around food that was being cooked and prepared. I just said that's not a good thing to see when your ordering food two staff vapein!! To them be met with abuse. They could of delt with it better but they didn't. Definitely won't be coming here again. Staff are rude and what I seen vapin has put me off

My partner just ordered a pizza 2 slices in noticed green mould patches in the base, not acceptable at all tbh, it's not nice knowing the food you pay for and expect quality has mould on, granted we rang explained and they came out and replaced with a new pizza free of charge

Absolutely appalling service. Taking too many orders and being unable to deal with them. Our order got "lost". Waited 55 minutes, for 2 small pizzas and a burger, only to be told we didn't order a burger! Eventually she found our order number but didn't apologise. Tried to charge £4 extra for 2 tubs of mayo. Then we get to the food... absolutely disgusting. The burger was cold and hard and the pizzas were also cold and so burnt and overbaked the toppings had gone hard and we couldn't tell which was which. Went to go back and complain but they'd locked the doors. Needless to say it all went in the bin. Waste of £30. If I could give less than 0 stars I would!

Terrible pizza the worst I have had in a long time very small amount of toppings will never go back. Really one to avoid

4 of us got donner meat and chips and a garlic bread. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the worse takeaway I've ever had. The donner meat and garlic bread was sooo stale, it sounded like you were eating crisps when you had it. The portions were extremely small and it costs over £24. I can't express how bad it was, I wouldn't wish recommend this to my worse enemy, terrible terrible terrible. DO NOT GO HERE.

The fish and chips are prepared to order. The fish has a light crisp batter and the fish is fresh, white and cooked to perfection. I have bought on several occasions now and the quality is always the same. The mushy peas are not canned but prepared traditionally, equally delicious. Excellent value, served by friendly folk

Stayed at parkdean Skipsea, went for fish and chips closed, went to the coast fish shop closed both said open Thursday and Friday. Glad they were there price £9 for fish and £3.49 for chips. Drove 9mile to Beeford chip shop cost me £15 for 2 regular fish and 1 chips , they were one of the best fish and chips I have ever had and well worth the price and drive. Fish was cooked to perfection mmmm

First a little insight to the service here. There was a small queue outside which I took to be a good sign, unfortunately not, as I got inside the door I asked as I normally would if they would put me in a Large Haddock, this was responded to with a very curt and loud reply of " No we can't, there are people in front of you, wait until you order" . I resisted the temptation to walk away at this point. Anyhow the order was placed...then the real comedy began, the lady taking the order passes it to the lady who passes your meal. She sorts these in order and passes onto the fryer. The downside of this operation then kicks in, the fryer only deals with one order at once and only puts Fish in to cook when the previous order has been passed to the customer. So if the person in front has a large order you know your in for a long wait. So the reason for the queues outside and people waiting Inside to collect their order became obvious ! I think they must be going for some sort of record in slow service. Onto the fish and chips, I had ordered wrapped and had a 7 to 8 min journey home. The portion sizes were very very generous indeed. The batter on the fish was sufficiently crispy considering the journey home and the flesh inside was lovely and moist with great flavour. However there was some parts of uncooked batter which can be seen in the pics. The chips again was a huge portion but in general they were a let down. Not at all crispy, but rather bendy and soggy. ( Travel perhaps , but not sure tbh). And they didn't taste great as a result. Curry sauce was very good. All in all a mixed bag, Great portions and as such good value. 10/10 Fish, lovely tasting but could have been better batter. 7/10 Chips, not good 4/10 Service, absolutely diabolical 0/10.

I go every week to get my 'chippy tea'. Its now one of the best in East Yorkshire. The haddock is lush, the chips are fluffy and the peas are delicious. The staff are also sound. The only issue is parking. Its when you get some orange holiday maker turn up (they tend to look like Penfold off Danger Mouse), who insists on parking his Kia 1 metre away from the edge of the crossroad junction. (move the Kia further down Skipsea Road fella). But that's not the fault of the chip shop.

There is no better place to eat in this part of the world. Quality, service and value is outstanding and consistently so. Over the last four days I have had the tenderest of steaks, succulent and tasty beef and Stilton pie and the best Sunday lunch with pork loin that melts and proper crispy crackling Ange and her family set the bar higher every time I visit. Called for Sunday lunch. Generous portions of lovely fresh home cooked food. Beef was particularly nice and Yorkshire puddings were just right. Staff were busy but very polite and attentive. Amble parking and room to sit outside should the weather allow.

I Came in with my mum for a nice early mother's day treat, definitely a great choice. The Staff were very friendly and provided great service, the food was fantastic, the steak melts in your mouth, chips perfectly cooked, and the peppercorn sauce was the topping on the cake. the salad dressing was particularly nice too, my mum really enjoyed the steak pie, high quality food at a reasonable price. we will definitely be back, I can highly recommend.

We were a large party with children and pre-booked via email with Kathleen. Fantastic communication and a friendly welcome when we arrived at this lovely pub. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful in getting us everything that we needed. They were great with the children and the food was delicious. Over the years of travelling backwards and forwards from Skipton to my parents house in Bridlington I have been disappointed to see that this pub had been closed down so it was nice to see it reopening again and had been on my list of places to stop at. It was nice to tick this off and even better to say that it was a very enjoyable experience. Thank you!

I can not recommend this restaurant enough! Kathleen, Mick and the team were absolutely great from first contact right through to our meal and beyond. I first contacted The manor inn to enquire as to whether I could host my very small wedding meal here. Our group consisted of 10 adults and 3 toddlers. Not only did they say yes, they opened the restaurant at lunch time solely for us! This meant that we had a private occasion which was lovely! The food, where do I start with this! Every persons food was hot and ready to eat. All food came out together even though we had 3 different mains. The portion sizes were generous to say the least. All food was absolutely delicious. Kathleen is one of the most friendly people I have met and she went above and beyond for us all. You really are all amazing. We will definitely be returning here whenever in Yorkshire.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights from Friday 1st August till Sunday 3rd August. The Manor Inn, Fridaythorpe was a lovely place to stay, Kathleen and Mick were wonderful and friendly hosts, couldn't do enough for you. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. Very powerful shower. We had a meal on Friday evening and the food was amazing, the waiting staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place and will be staying again next time we are in Yorkshire.

Just returned from a lovely evening meal at the Manor Inn,Fridaythorpe.The service and the staff were really welcoming and the food was excellent.I had the barbecue ribs which where perfectly cooked with the meat falling off the bone and my wife had the Lasagne which again was piping hot and delicious as was the home made garlic bread that came with it plus the beer was nice as well. Highly recommended

Wow! I cannot fault the food or the service. Everything was first class. The starters were delicious, the steaks were tender and cooked perfectly and the sauces were out of this world. Highly recommend!

Last minute decision to get fish n chips when passing through Hutton Cranswick, and so glad we did. I grew up in a seaside holiday village and have to say the food from this chippy was the best! Cooked fresh and it was delicious.

Well I have just had the menu c meal for 4, and it was possibly the worst and most expensive takeaway I've ever had, £46, for meals ( crispy beef, special (NOT) chop suey,, and battered chicken and prawn sweet and sour. There were more onions and carrots, than anything else, the meals were tasteless, must have run out of msg. I will never frequent this place again. I'm a chef so I know what good food tastes like, and this wasn't it.

My husband and I booked a table for this evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary while staying in a holiday cottage nearby. The service was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. It was a quiet Thursday evening but there was still a pleasant ambience. The food was delicious and portions generous - we couldn't eat it all so the remainder of our meal was packed up for us to bring home. Car parking is available a short walk down the road, it's pay and display but very reasonable (£2.80 will get you 24hrs) They currently do not serve alcohol but will allow you to bring your own - or alcohol free wines and lagers are available. Highly recommended, would definitely return next time we are in the area.

Lovely food! We had it last night again and it was delivered very quickly. it's always been consistently good and is one of our favourite Curry houses in Driffield. Highly recommended.

We Ordered a big takeaway over the phone on a Sunday night (10 hungry adults)….we had no expectations… Everything was ready in time for pick up which was great (very efficient). The service was excellent and the people of the restaurant are so friendly and kind. Food wise: super tasty, right amount of spices, very very yummy! The portions were just right, I cannot fault this place. We had a lovely experience and our hungry bellies were 100% satisfied. I cannot post a photo as all the food was inhaled as soon as fork touched plate! For the price and the quality of the food, I highly recommend this place and will be returning next time we are in town!

The food from here is fantastic. I’ve ordered a couple of takeaways recently, and I am very impressed. You can see the restaurant really does care about the food it provides. It’s a pleasure to have them based in our town.

7 at our table, all had different choices. Dishes were all served together, all piping hot and nicely served. One little criticism. The windows should be clean, the inside should be sparkling and the outside should be clean. It would make all the difference. Thank you for a wonderful meal, our guests from Central Scotland and Essex, were still talking about the food two days later. Very pleased.

Excellent home delivery service. Food beautiful as always. One thing wrong on the order. They couldn't do enough to put it right. They rushed my main meal to me and brought me an extra drink and poppadoms. Food was delicious as always. Delivery staff so lovely.

Welcoming pub were you are accepted as a regular even on your first visit. A decent food menu at a quality price, my favourite being the burger. A good selection of ales and the best pint of guiness served in yorkshire, give it a try.

I wish sometimes I could just give a review based on the individuals who serve and deliver the products but alas that would not be a true reflection of the business which fundamentally is food. The young woman who was serving and preparing the food on her own was an absolute gem. Service was top notch but unfortunately the 2 pizzas were less than average simply based on the ingredients which were very cheap and tested bland. My special was tasteless and I could not distinguish between the different ingredients only the bits of beef were distinguishable as they left an unpleasant taste on my palette. My wife's 6 topping special had what looked like cubes of frozen chicken and again totally tasteless. Once again the service was impeccable unfortunately the produce was not.

Ordered a meal on just eat- £19. Told free delivery to my location on the app. Made the order and was spoken to appallingly by the member of staff who rang and was told I had to pay £8 for delivery. Absolutely disgusting- offered to pay cash on delivery and had my order cancelled even before the phone call was ended. Avoid on all costs!!!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the women on the phone. Big party of 10 all waiting for our food. I ordered through just eat to which they said it was free delivery to then be bombarded with phone calls. My sister called them back and the women of the phone definitely does not have any skills with customer service. They said delivery was £5 to our location to which we said oh but we've already paid. Her disgusting attitude was condescending and she demanded we paid or she would cancel the order (we had already agreed to pay the delivery 4 times). We suggested she gets in touch with just eat as it could affect marmaris pizza & Grill too; to which she childishly said 'im cancelling your order because you're repeating yourself'. Only to cancel it as not knowing our location.... we were 11 minutes from them. This place needs to be checked because from where I stand it's fraud.... taking our money then demanding for more because they can't get just eat to raise the charge.

My girlfriend and I ordered off just eat and the bill came to £19. We were told free delivery on the website then not even 1 minute they had cancelled the order and had rang us claiming that they needed £8 for delivery and I offered them cash for when the driver arrived and they had declined and the member of staff on the phone spoke to me in a very unprofessional way. Just be careful because they seem to be very sly.

I ordered online on their Marmaris' website. Food was suggested to be 45 mins which was perfect. The food had not arrived 1 hour 40 mins later, by which time I had to go out so gave up and the following morning I still haven't heard anything from them. Should I have called up - probably, but looking at other reviews they'd have only cancelled my order anyway.

Absolutely shocking they got our order completely wrong and we live 10 miles from the shop so we rang them up told them and the lady on the phone was excellent she dealt with the situation well but when I spoke with the manager he was completely left opposite he was very rude very aggressive and spoke in a very threatening tone he did not take responsibility for the shops mistakes and he kept saying are you threatening me . Please I urge you to avoid this place.

I was just asked to hang on when placing an order as obviously people walking in take priority, after waiting 5 minutes the staff member put the down on me. After ringing back I was told it was because the boss said we can't take any more orders. Fantastic customer service I won't bother you again

It was OK, nothing more and nothing less. Fine for a quick bite after a few when tottering home. Chicken crisp but a bit tasteless , fries a disaster, soggy, limp and not very appetising.

Ordered before and it's been acceptable but tonight there was food missing ordered large which I've checked as off of just eat and recieved small. If your in driff and want this type of takeaway go to Napoli cos this place is the wild west

Used this place regularly but was shut around 4 weeks ago for a week now it looks as if it's changed hands. Food doesn't seem as good anymore and the portions are smaller but price has increased?? Will only use of we get stuck for a takeaway again

Called into Delicious sandwich bar today and met two delicious ladies. The first one was Called Nadia and the other lady was called Cheryl the owner of the sandwich shop. Ordered a double egg. Sausages and mushroom sandwich with a splash of tomato sauce and also a homemade bakewell tart...which was very delicious indeed, filled a gap. Will be doing a definite revisit highly recommend. It's nice to see businesses that make most of the menu if not all in house, something which is disappearing rapid. They do a lunch time menu: Lasagne chips and peas . Plus other things. I will do a updated review once I've been back and tried what Cheryl has on offer for me to devour.......

First time ordering from here. Amazed at the sandwich selection! Super organised and busy little shop. We called up for a large sanwich order and was completed in super quick time. Food is fab! Highly recommend!

Hot day 25c but a smile would be nice not wheelchair friendly. You can only get three people in at any one time. Now I do love bacon and mushrooms, as in the pictures it was very greasy the mushrooms were not drained and cooked in loads of oil, so that meant the bread cake was soggy which meant it was a horrible eating experience.

Had the chicken, chorizo, mozzarella, and sriracha sauce panini and it was absolutely fantastic! Great food, great price, great service. Definitely going back regularly! 🥳

Been here twice now ,pizza basis are lovely the Bolognese is abit tasteless though. Says home made coleslaw and it's a bought in one and not the best . I've paid for garlic mayo both times and received garlic yogurt. My wife had tuna pizza which was very good . Tried here again last night and got the same pizza and was very good . Also got a wrap for the wife and was decent.

Lamb Doner was very nice, tasty and not swimming in grease like many places, came with a small flatbread not a pitta as stated. Pizza was disappointing, very bland. Appreciate the garlic bread was free but it was neither cheesy or garlicky.

Just spent a small fortune here and it was worth every penny kids loved it and so did me and the wife. Staff were really helpful and polite so I would definitely be going back and recommend it to anyone. Well done brandesburton pizza keep it going

The owner put a drink and fries on my order just to be kind. You can't buy that sort of integrity. What a gent. Highly recommend the food.

Food is top notch, shame they don't deliver, however can't get the order right, forgot items off our order 2 weeks in a row, delivered the missing item the first week, promised to deliver the missing item the second week but didnt bother, and didnt ring to tell us they werent delivering it afterall, not sure we'll use them again.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all my visits here. Food is very good indeed (curried lamb delicious, and burgers very tasty), the kitchen team are obviously talented. A wide variety of drinks available from the pub bar. Service attentive, and thankfully not over the top. However, a couple of suggestions. Firstly, look at ensuring the seating is all fit for purpose. Some tables are poorly sited, or rely on stools (difficult for them as they need the covers and the room is tight). Maybe talk to the pub and offer a limited number of basic meals like burgers in the bar. Secondly, and this is a pet hate, I don't like paying extra for fries with a burger, I sort of expect it comes with them. No issues with paying for extras like onion rings. Driffield needs more restaurants like The Ox. I would recommend it highly.

(Friday 22.06.23 The Ox@Driffield, located inside the Butcher's Dog) Second time I've eaten here, (first time was for lunch when it had just opened) I had the texas brisket & my partner had the KFC burger, food was excellent, it's not your normal average pub fayre, it's very different to anything else we have on offer in Driffield. I'd advising booking as there are only six tables. Give it a try & I don't think you'll be disappointed.
