Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Soria

Despite a noticeably slow start to the service, our meal and overall experience here was fabulous - a total delight! We especially enjoyed the red shrimp, ravioli, cocochas, gazpacho, and callos de bacalao (part of the December menu). We are excited to recommend to friends and return at some point in the future to try a different menu.

Had dinner on a Thursday when only the degustation menu is available. The dishes are all well prepared with intense flavours. Not all hit the spot for me, a couple were amazing (Gambas atemperadas con mantequilla de maiz and callos de bacalao) one a little overpowering (cuajada de crustáceos) but all in all it was a good experience. The wait staff were excellent and friendly. If I come back to Soria I would go again but on a night where I could choose a la carte.

Worst dining experience ever in spain. Food was overpriced and still not enough for two of us. Based on reviewes and feedback we went to this restaurant. It was a good disaster. 2* are for the arroze con leche. Mediocre vines, exceptionally bad mains.

We came here for lunch and we were not disappointed. Their menu has lots of nice sounding meat options for seconds. I had the zucchini cream with truffles, which was creamy and delicious with real slices of truffle. The secreto iberico was very good although the potatoes could improve. The chocolate ingot for dessert was excellent, no overly sweet but a nice chocolate flavor. The bread was not great quality, a bit dry, I would recommend finding a different provider. The waitstaff are very professional yet friendly. The pricing is apropriate for the quality.

We arrived in Soria on a public holiday so all the restaurants were busy and many of them just seemed uninterested in serving potential customers. We walked a few minutes from the centre to El Ventorro and got a completely different reception. They set up one of the bar tables for eating and brought menus quickly, despite being very busy already. We didn't want a huge lunch so we just ordered "arroz molleloso con carabineros" and it was excellent. Good selection of wines by the glass and lots of the other menu items we saw looked delicious. I can't emphasise enough how good the service was. The waiter didn't speak much English and our Spanish is terrible but with a bit of willingness on both sides it worked and we had a great lunch.

I ordered paella 🥘 for takeout and they give me paella with a pot to give back tomorrow 🙌😍 Paella was perfect 👍 They are not cheap and some portions can be smaller than expected.

As someone mentioned in another review. The vintage look is one thing but the hotel just feels dated. Shower in my room was tiny, felt almost claustrophobic with little lighting. Also mentioned by other guest, the parking situation isn’t great. If you arrive late in the day you might not find a spot. I would stay again if I had to, but not in a hurry that’s for sure. No complaints regarding customer service.

Stayed here for two nights from Thursday 11/9/27 On arrival the parking is a little tight due to the Hotels location and you may need to park a short walk from the Hotel. Worth noting, it is a steep climb back to the hotel if you are walking to / from it during your stay. Check in was simple (though we were told off for arriving 15 minutes before the official check in time!) Our room was clean and spacious with an enclosed balcony which offered a stunning view over the river Douro. We stayed half board and also had lunch at the hotel on our arrival. The experience of all was a little mixed. Breakfast was OK rather than good, you have to order cooked breakfasts from the server, but self service from the cold items. We had a bar lunch, plus a few drinks in the bar while we were there and the quality of what we received was good. For diner the food was again OK rather than good, we have stayed in a lot of Paradors and food wise this was one of the most disappointing. The big problem with the hotel was the staff, they were all very friendly and nice people, the problem appeared to be around training and staffing levels. Bar service was very slow, and in the dining room the staff clearly were not training to serve in that area. For example there appeared to be limited relation between what you ordered and what you got - I ordered exactly the same desert two nights running and got completely different things! I try to order local dishes, so often don’t quite know what I will get, but I can tell the difference between types of meat 😊 Soria itself has a pretty old town and many old churches, however not an awful lot else (limited shopping for example). Not being terribly interested in old churches we finished Soria in a morning and then went for a long walk by the river after lunch. I think we would have been very bored had we been there for more than two nights/one complete day. All in it’s a beautiful hotel set in a beautiful location, let down two things: the staffing, not by their attitude, but by their training/efficiency and finally the quality of the food. Which is a shame as it has all the possibilities of being a fabulous stay.

We stayed here overnight on the way to France. Reception staff was efficient at check in and out. Location is at the highest point of the city overlooking the old town, beautiful lights at night. Room is a bit dated however sufficient for the purpose. We'd suggest that they can improve by offering some tea bags in the room considering it's a 4 star hotel. Parking is at the back of the hotel building which is nice and easy. We walked down to the old town for dinner and it took about 12 mins on foot. Very pleasant walk. We didn't choose to have the breakfast. I recommend this hotel.
