Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant Metamorphica is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable fine dining experience, helmed by the talented chef-patron Steven Halligan. This stylish establishment offers an exquisite tasting menu featuring between 10 to 15 meticulously crafted courses, each designed to tantalize your taste buds. Guests can enhance their meal with a thoughtfully curated wine journey from the restaurant's extensive cellar. For those seeking intimacy, the chef's table provides a unique opportunity to witness the culinary magic unfold right before your eyes.
We’ve now been a few times and each time without fail we’ve had a fantastic night. Because of our past experiences we asked Stephen if he would open for us on a Thursday night so I could celebrate my 50th. What a great night! We had our own private restaurant, Stephen and his Dad couldn’t have been more helpful and as usual the food was excellent and even more geared to our own tastes to make it more special then usual. We’ve eaten in a few Michelin stared restaurants around the country but to be honest we always have a better experience in Metamorphica. Cant wait for our Christmas meal in there.

Another wonderful dining experience , we have booked again and I’m really looking forward to it . We had a fabulous evening our taster menu had the wine flight included and we got to try some great wines . We really enjoyed all the dishes and the fabulous atmosphere of the evening.

Brilliant food and great service, a must visit even if you are not local to the area! Each visit has been a unique experience with different dishes and wines to taste. Steven is a fantastic chef and a genuine down to earth guy, I would recommend sitting at the chef's table to really enjoy the experience of seeing the food being prepared. This is easily one of the best dining experiences we have had!

Just been here tonight. Wow. Amazing food and perfect wine flight for both of us. Chef was great to talk to and engage with. What an experience. Definitely rate this.
Russ P — Google review
The most amazing food prepared and served in front of you by an award winning chef. So much more than just a night out to eat. A total food drink. experience. Michelin stars are coming to this restaurant, eat here before you can't afford to. Amazing.

A truly outstanding menu, warm welcome and very generous place! We had such a lovely evening here, sat at the chef’s table and got to see how beautifully all of the courses were prepared. We loved the variety of dishes and the creative flavours. We were made to feel exceptionally welcome, Steven very kindly gave us some ideas for wines to have with our meal and try some new ones as well. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, would absolutely recommend!
Claire M — Google review
We went for my birthday not knowing what to really expect. We booked for the chef's table. This is a very intimate dining experience with, at the moment, only six covers per night. What you get it, besides amazing food, is a first hand experience of the preparation and cooking of it. If you are thinking it might be for you then just book it. I don't think you will be disappointed. We certainly will be talking about it for years to come.
David B — Google review
Our latest visit here for our third butterfly series meal of the year. As usual, the food was excellent - in my opinion, this was the best so far( and the bar is set very high already) Chef Steven and dad Tim provide a complete experience of culinary and service excellence. The wine pairing was immaculate and befitting of the food it accompanied. Again, in my opinion, some of the more famous restaurants could learn a lot from Steven. Tim provides a playlist that accompanies the meal and I like to test myself in trying to remember the artist and the track.

Beautiful food and drinks! I came here for the first time for a bottomless brunch, and it's the best brunch I've been to. The service was amazing. Also, the music needs improving, but everything else was just perfect. I would recommend this place for a bottomless brunch!

Wasn't impressed with the Service as soon as we arrived we waited few mins at the front desk for someone to come greet us . Was asked any allergies and follow me. No hi you okay thanks for waiting ect.... Was shown to our table. Had to repeat our order several times to the waiter so it was understood. The food however was delicious but the atmosphere was very lacking of anything exciting for a Sunday afternoon . You could see the Steam trains arriving though through the window.

Booked for sat dinner, arrived and we were happily greeted and were shown to our table, ordered and soon after the starter came, baby pork ribs were delicious. Then once finished the sharer plate came, all 3 meats were wonderfull. I only have 3 suggestions regarding the sides, French fries were too cooked, sauces were very tiny, as a sharer plate at least double the sauces as the meat is not seasoned at all, could suggest having some table salt on the tables? We had desert after, the firepit Sunday and it was quite good. Waiter was lovely and very attentive. Nice ambiance and music playing. Defo recommend a visit.

Myself and my husband have been coming to the Firepit in Rawtenstall for years now, well before Covid (was the first place we went back to when we were allowed ‘out again!) and we’ve always loved it. On a weekend it was always such a good atmosphere, good music, busy, staff were always super friendly and attentive. However, the last 3 or 4 times we’ve been it’s been such a disappointment and got worse each visit. Totally understand finances have changed for a lot of people and businesses, and it’s really evident here. The menu hasn’t changed for so long, but the prices are now way off. We visited last Sunday myself, husband and 2 children and our total for starters and mains, two drinks each was £168. Now, for a nice meal out, which included 3 alcoholic drinks, we don’t mind splashing out every now and then but we really felt that it wasn’t value for money at all. Service was really really slow despite the place being almost empty, and we had to find someone to ask for another round of drinks ages after we’d finished them and the starters. Even a week later we still say how we can’t believe it was so expensive. The food was average at best, I had steak that had no taste; we bought steaks from M&S last night and cooked at home and they were so flavourful! That and for two fillet it cost the same as one at TFP. We’re gutted that it’s not as good anymore as it really was our favourite place to go for date nights or for a nice tea out with the kids. Safe to say that last weekend will probably be the last time we visit. It’s a shame too as we spoke briefly with a member of staff the time previously who said he was new to the establishment and was hoping to get it back up and running how it used to. Hopefully things improve and we may give it another chance in a few years.

My partner and I went for date night we had such a good night the food was lovely and the service was great we were greeted by a friendly lady who showed us to our table and then for the rest of the night Alicia looked after us her service and attentiveness was worth the 5 stars alone fab night will defo be returning again ... thanks Alicia for making the night great for us. :)

Our evening at The Firepit was exceptional from start to finish. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Kyle the manager. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and due to having the grandchildren, we had been thoughtfully placed in the conservatory away from the bar area. We enjoyed the steak on a rock and the kebab, both were cooked to perfection and the aromas were unreal. The mocktails were refreshing and beautifully presented. A special thanks to the team and Kyle, the manager whose attentive and friendly presence made our grandchildren feel especially welcome and our grandson felt extra special on his birthday. Truly a five-star experience in every way.
Manda P — Google review
Highly Recommended! Large selection on the menu, including Halal, Gluten free and Vegetarian! Well, where to start! Starters of course, with a large portion of baby back ribs in a sticky smoke glaze and sesame, more than ample for myself and left me wondering if I would have room for mains! Garnished with Chilli and Spring onion, tender meat, falling off the bone is a strong starter that could only be beaten by the steak. Onto the Main event- Steak on a stone… You may have had sizzlers before but not to this standard!! 10oz Ribeye, seared and still Cooking to your taste. Whilst this may be a novel idea, I did wonder why I wasn’t asked how I would like the Steak! Want it rare, take it off, want it well, leave it on! Whilst working through the ample sides, which I chose Wild Mushrooms and fries. With Wide selection of sauces and sides to accompany the steak, there’s something for all tastes. I will be visiting again and have recommended to many friends already! I couldn’t fault this place unless I tried the entire menu, and still wouldn’t! Plenty of room in the restaurant, subtle lighting and modern music covering older and more modern scores. Parking can be tight but there are local car parks in walking distance.
John G — Google review
Steaks were absolutely shocking, ordered three med rare, all three were cooked well done and dry, we mentioned this and they were replaced with three steaks that we opted to cook on a hot stone ourselves as we didn’t have much confidence in the kitchen. These arrived and the owner told us “now you can’t complain since you’re cooking them yourselves”. The replacement steaks were served with no seasoning at all and were very bland. 6 chances to produce a nice steak and the kitchen couldn’t do one good one. At £50 per person I expect a lot better. Save yourself some money, get a steak at the supermarket and watch a YouTube video on how to cook it, guaranteed to be nicer. The guys serving drinks and taking orders were nice and attentive though, sadly didn’t make up for the food.

We had a fab time for a bottomless brunch. We all had an upgrade for food which was delicious and plentiful! I couldn’t finish mine! The cocktails were amazing and free flowing. Not once did we have to call the wait staff over, they were very attentive and were checking in on us to make sure we had everything we wanted. Will definitely be returning!!

We booked a bottomless brunch and quite apprehensive after doing one else where before and getting hardly any drinks but here they just kept flowing! Excellent service and value for money too. Food was also delicious - highly recommend!

For a chain restaurant, food is actually good here - surprised by the menu options. Lovely curry lunch deal for a weekday! Service was super quick but think it was only me and my friend at the place so very quiet atmosphere. This is more busy in the evening when people are making use of the well priced cocktails! Good service and friendly staff!

Myself and my friend enjoyed the amazing lunch deal yesterday - a main and a drink for just £10. The food is fairly average but the portion size and service made up for it. Lovely, friendly atmosphere.

Perfect cocktails, great service, delicious food. Can never go wrong here. Recommend booking as can get busy fast.

The manager the waitress the foot runners the bartenders, everyone was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so helpful and the food was in our table super quickly even though the restaurant was very full from all the Siana’s restaurants I’ve been to the one in Temple Street is the best for me here in Birmingham. Definitely coming back. Thank you guys for your service. You’re the best.

We went for a bottomless brunch and as we really enjoyed it the last time unfortunately the drinks were taking at least half an hour to make between each round i said to the manger and she was quite sarcastic with me then we got our food my chicken was completely raw and when i spoke to the manager again she told me it was the marinade and i said i know the difference between cooked meat and non cooked meat she said to me that the kitchen probe all of the food and all of our food was cold as well as she took another raw burger off our table and gave it back with her hair in the chips which at this point i was not happy as the manager didnt really seem to care about the situation and turned around and said she cant please us and said she was not gonna serve us anymore awful place i would not recommend the place lost a lot of money on out booking of 14 bottomless brunches

What a place! 28 of us ate here today, (15, 9 years old, may I add) the service and food was fantastic. The service was very personable and we all had a really enjoyable afternoon. The roast beef is top notch 😋. Thank you and we will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this restaurant what ever your occasion.

Had a really great breakfast here. I ordered the poached eggs on toast and they were cooked perfectly — soft, runny yolks and nicely seasoned. The toast was fresh and had a good crunch without being too hard. It’s a simple dish, but they did it really well. The atmosphere was relaxed, service was friendly, and everything came out quickly. Would definitely come back!

Table of 6 on a Thursday evening. Great service, smashing food, really nice evening. The last 4 times weve been here the food has been spot on. If you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for?

Loved it. The food was excellent. My Chorizo and Mozzarella Chicken Kiev was divine as were the pulled pork and black pudding bon bons. Excellent service too in a really relaxing pub. I highly recommend you try it 👍

Such a great Sunday lunch. I’m super picky about Sunday dinners because I often go places and wish I hadn’t have bothered because I feel I could do a better roast myself. But the coach has me beat for sure! Would definitely recommend the roast beef. Portion sizes are good and they’re not at all stingy with the meat.

We had the traditional afternoon tea for three of us.. The food was lovely, me being someone with a more savoury tooth I'd prefer the choice of swapping one of the scones to be a scotch egg or meat pie. We ordered a portion of chips which were homemade like mummy used to make them and the onion rings amaze balls. We enjoyed our experience the atmosphere was just perfection

Fantastic atmosphere and food. Was very well looked after by the waitress so went the distance to check ingredients the cakes were made from. Everything taste so fresh and the scones although sounded the most blandist thing on the menu were amazing.
Kobirul A — Google review
I really loved the decor and the little touches of the dressings of the tables and the walls. It is done extremely tastefully. It is set around late 1930's 1040's and it is lovely to see. I was really excited by the old looking menu case. As a home baker, for family and friends, I do feel constantly disappointed when I go for afternoon tea and the bread is shop bought. I bake my own bread, make my own cakes, and when I go for afternoon tea, I want that to be better than I make. I have been researching the best afternoon tea in the north west for the last 12 months, and I am still to find a place that baked it's own bread. The picture big the gentleman's afternoon tea, appeared to have had more scotch eggs and pie's on it as well. I don't know of this is the angle of the photo. However, there is a very good selections of tea.

Went for the harry potter themed afternoon tea here today! Amazing hosts and delicious food. The soup was so yum, as were the treats! Especially the snitch shaped cake pops. Highlight of the event was the broomstick flying lesson 👌

Cracking afternoon tea for our 1st wedding anniversary. Came out absolutley stuffed and the price was very good. The only niggle I had is that the room we were in was very noisy, couldn't really hear each other speak. But other than that, perfect and can't wait to return.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Anarkali Indian Restaurant, nestled within The Farmers Glory Inn in Haslingden. From the moment I stepped inside, Yasin and his wife Salma made me feel right at home with their warm hospitality. The restaurant boasts a spacious and impeccably clean environment adorned with tasteful decor that sets a welcoming tone. The extensive menu offers an array of choices that cater to every palate, ensuring you won't be short on options.
Just moved to the area and so happy to find this lovely place. Food is delicious, beautifully served, I’m vegan and there is plenty to choose from. Big portions too and great price. I would give the service even more ⭐️’s if there was an option. The owners and all the staff are so welcoming, friendly and accommodating, super speedy service too. I have visited with my large family, as a couple and on a girls night, and the setting has always been spot on. Thank you and I am definitely going to be a regular ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Parveen S — Google review
Disappointed After Giving It a Fair Chance I've visited Anarkali Indian Restaurant in Haslingden a couple of times now, hoping for a consistently good experience, but unfortunately, it hasn’t delivered. On both visits, the service was very slow and not particularly attentive. During my first visit, the food showed real promise—my starter was excellent: fresh, hot, crisp, and not greasy at all. Sadly, the second time was a complete contrast. The same starter came out undercooked, and when I raised it with the staff, I was told the chef “couldn’t be bothered” because it was hot outside—not exactly the response you'd expect from a professional kitchen. As for the mains, the first visit was again solid—tasty and well-prepared. But the second time, my order was wrong. Rather than simply apologising, the staff acted as though the mistake was mine, even though the waiter had admitted the order sounded odd but never read it back to confirm. Drinks? You might get a cold Coke—if you complain. It shouldn't be that hard to get basic service right. After enjoying the food the first time, I really wanted to like this place. But after today's poor food and even worse service, I won’t be wasting any more time or money here.
Xara T — Google review
What a wonderful restaurant. And such a shame that the owners have made the decision to sell the business. The food is absolutely stunning, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much to ask. They go out of their way to make sure all their customers are happy. Food portions are generous and the menu is very reasonably priced. This evening, we ordered a takeaway, for collection. As always, the owners were warm and chatty when I went to pick it up. The food was still lovely and hot when we dished it out at home, and everything tasted delicious I really hope the new owners will ensure that Anarkali's legacy lives on.

We love visiting Anarkali. It holds special memories for us (we got engaged here 💕). We came for a meal and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing! We ordered far too much and had to bring some home, but it was all fresh and delicious! They kindly left us for 5-10 minutes between courses to let our food settle, so we didn't feel rushed. Waiters were always walking around, so we could order drinks if we needed to. The staff and owners are very lovely, and we look forward to visiting again!!

Our first visit today. It had a very modern and relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Drinks order was taken and served quickly. We had plenty of time to peruse the menu. We chose homemade cheese and onion pie, Louisiana burger, and the halloumi and vegetable fajita tacos. Oh my! Yum, yum, yum! 😋 It was all so tasty and flavourful. We finished with a sticky toffee pudding and 2 cappuccinos . The dessert was recommended by Duelisa. Thank you. You were so right, as well as being really friendly and very attentive. We definitely look forward to working our way through the menu. ❤️

Didn’t book for a Thursday evening. Got told they can not fit us in (a couple). Luckily, we saw two friends leaving so we asked for their table. The waitress reluctantly agreed. For the two hours we were in there, three tables around ours were never seated. Fish and chips was OK, nothing special. Same with the fish finger butty my wife ordered. We ordered dessert - the chocolate and hazelnut cheesecake tasted off, both me and the wife agreed. I’ve never sent any food back but the cheese was off and I couldn’t eat it. The chef tried it and told us we were wrong, it was fine. The waitress was however lovely and offered me an alternative dessert. Overall, a poor experience and won’t be going back. Shame as it was once a lovely pub with great views out in the garden.

I arrived at 4pm, to be told there were no Sunday roasts left. I would’ve appreciated a heads up as this was the only reason we were coming - not to mention that this has happened twice in a row now. We, three of us, sat down and ordered two starters to share. We had to ask for side plates and were given two. When clearing the table, we asked the waitress for 15/20 minutes before we have our mains, where she straight away said no they’ve already been cooked. Before she’d even cleared the table, the mains arrived. I ordered a medium rare steak and it came well done, probably because it was cooked before I’d even started my first course. Not once did anybody come over to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted a drink (we’d all finished our first drink). The steak had no taste and was chewy. When clearing the table, the waitress didn’t even ask if everything was okay considering my plate was still full. I’d also like to add (see image below) that this meal is absolutely not worth £25. It’s a shame considering I have been to the Whitchaff many times and enjoyed it but I will not be returning, shocking.

I went for the first time yesterday, I took my mother for her birthday and we never expected it to be as good as it was. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food was absolutely outstanding and it was topped off with great atmosphere as well as beautiful scenery. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, we’ll definitely be back!

So thankful to the wonderful team at The Whitchaff who accommodated our group of 12 (despite us not having booked!). We were in the area for a family funeral. The staff went above and beyond to provide excellent service. The food was delicious. Our group is made up of meat eaters, vegans and vegetarians and everyone enjoyed their meals. Thank you, all. A wonderful pub.

We dined here in June and I forgot to leave feedback. Food was lovely, can’t fault it and reasonable prices. Service was very good, the girls were friendly and attentive, however the communication was non existent. We booked over the phone for 6 adults and 3 young children to celebrate a birthday and enjoy a lovely family occasion. We all sat at a table not quite big enough and ordered drinks and sat there drinking and chatting, it was very relaxed, 15 minutes later a couple left the table next to us and apologised to us, and we were all unsure why, (we didn’t know there was a time limit) the staff then pushed the other table up to ours and brought the menus and set the tables. After we’d had several drinks, eaten our starters and mains a member of staff came up and advised we had 10 minutes left at the table and then asked if we wanted any deserts, we were all going to order deserts and drinks but we just ordered an ice cream cone for the eldest child as we didn’t have time for anything else. We quickly drank our drinks and vacated our table not wanting to get in the way of the next guests. We then had to queue at the bar to pay the bill, and after waiting some time I asked a passing waitress for our bill. I offered feedback to the manager, I said that we should have been advised on the call that we had 2 hours, we’d have been better prepared, I also said that to be asked if we wanted deserts with only 10 minutes left was not acceptable, and to then have to queue at the bar to pay our bill wasn’t acceptable, even though we spent not far off £200 it was clear the feedback fell on deaf ears as the managers face and response told me she wasn’t bothered. It’s a shame that a great pub with great food can’t do the basics and communicate very well. I’d recommend it but be aware of the time limit, I won’t be going again.

Reports of running out of Sunday roasts by 17:00 are true. Sort it out - you have the number of bookings, nearly everyone in the room wanted a roast and was turned down, there’s really no excuse. Also, one of our meals was missed and never arrived. The waitress was very apologetic, and said that it had been missed off the order. We were asked if we wanted it, but it would take 10 minutes. We politely declined. We were later told it “went in the bin”. Why we were later told this is a mystery to us, but we can only assume it was said to make us feel bad. Would’ve given a 3 but we feel we were lied to at the end. We’ll not be coming back.

Went with 9 friends and the staff were very welcoming. All the food arrived fairly quickly after our orders had been taken and the empty plates at the end shows how good the good was. Lovely place to visit would recommend it.

Nino's Restaurant is a delightful haven for lovers of Italian cuisine, offering a blend of creative and classic dishes in an elegant bistro setting adorned with white tablecloths and plush leather banquettes. Whether you're planning a last-minute dinner or a special night out, Nino's welcomes you with open arms. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, enhanced by live entertainment that adds to the lively atmosphere.
Last minute night out, rang at 8.15pm and luckily for us they had a table. Restaurant is really big and was really busy. Live entertainment in form of a male vocalist who was quite good. On arrival we were quickly shown to our table and given menus then after a couple of mins waitress came and took our drinks order. After a few more mins our food order was taken and starters were brought out really quickly. Adequate time between starter and main meal. Didn't have deserts so can't comment. Food was delicious, service excellent, atmosphere great. Definitely recommend.

I don't know if I went to a restaurant or to the President's House of this country because of how good and cozy my stay at Nino's restaurant was. Their very friendly waiters with their creativity and eloquence made me feel at home, like a celebrity. I hadn't planned to eat that day due to my dietary restrictions, but the Manager and his entire team worked hard to offer me a large number of diverse food options that in the end convinced me to choose a Chicken Ripieno, with a variety of spices that enhanced its flavor, making an explosion of flavors quite attractive to my palate, of which I leave a photo and I can recommend it 100%. The freshness of their food can be noticed from the first moment, it is important to mention that the cleanliness and organization of this restaurant makes your stay unforgettable while you try a good meal. It has its own parking lot, (free), its entrance without many stairs makes it a more accessible place for people of all ages. Its variety of prices makes it even more attractive because there is nothing better than enjoying a good place without spending too much money for those large families who always have to look for a variety of prices. My family and I will return without a doubt, we have already made our next reservation in February.

Absolutely loved my experience at Nino! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home. The customer service was top notch everyone was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was cozy yet lively, perfect for a relaxed evening out. Really good italien food. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour, and you could tell they use really fresh ingredients. I’m still thinking about that risotto ! If you’re looking for a place with great vibes, amazing food, and service that makes you feel special, Nino’s is definitely the spot. Can’t wait to go back!

Not to be dramatic but I would sell my soul to eat at this place every night, they are clearly using some sort of sinister black magic to be able to get food out so fast with it also tasting that good and fresh. Honestly the most delicious food I have EVER eaten at a restaurant. Se* on a plate from start to finish. Staff were amazing and attentive. The decor and atmosphere is also amazing, looks nice from the outside but you really don't expect the space and modern interior when looking at it just from the street. Bloody loved it, will be back on every special occasion. 😍

Nestled in the charming town of Haslingden, Holden Wood Tea Rooms is a delightful café that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. This quaint spot, set within a converted church, boasts high ceilings and open beams that add to its unique character. Visitors rave about the friendly service provided by staff members who go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The menu features an impressive selection of delicious dishes with generous portions at great value; highlights include mouthwatering burgers and delectable desserts like strawberry cheesecake.
Yesterday afternoon I went out to eat in Haslingden with my friend. We went to Holden Wood Tea Rooms. It's a very nice little cafe. We like going there. The service is very friendly. And the food there is also very good and tasty. This time I had a burger with fries and for dessert there was a strawberry cheesecake. Both were very tasty. I can highly recommend the cafe and you should definitely make a reservation.

Sandra H — Google review
I have always been a local customer to this tea room and go regularly with family and friends and have some for years. Last week I took my friend and it was her birthday breakfast. We ordered 1 all day breakfast with fried eggs, for me, and when trying to order the second breakfast with a change of eggs we were told you can’t change the egg choice. It was 12.05. This was dietary request. My friend can’t eat fried egg on her strict diet. Anyway, we were refused SCRAMBLED eggs. So, with that, my friend chose the veg soup instead. It was to our surprise and disbelief that no sooner had we ordered and quietly sat chatting that an order walked past us that was a huge pile of scrambled eggs! What???We thought you couldn’t do scrambled eggs tho?? We just asked and you said no?? They must have already literally had it in the pan! We were confused and confronted the waitress. She wasn’t sure herself why one customer could order the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and we couldn’t alter a fried egg to scrambled?? It was being made already!! On the hob, as we speak!! You understand? She checked the menu and asked the kitchen staff. Nothing was reported back! Oh well, we carried on chatting and discussing the topic of eggs! We had it out with the waitress and they had decided our preference of the scrambled eggs on our order was a no no!! Then another couple walked in, sat down and ordered the smoked salmon and scrambled bloody eggs! They were fine with that order and ten minutes later, there it was!! Presented to the customers sat on the table next to us!! Remember, my friend had been refused!! As a dietary requirement!!! Arghhh…Talk about rubbing your nose in it?? Wtaf! When we asked again, this time quite frustrated, a rude waitress, not even of managerial level, became flippant in attitude, said it was a rule!! We can’t change the beakfast eggs from fried to scramble because on Saturdays it’s busy! It wasn’t Saturday! It wasn’t even busy! She was argumentative, made absolutely no sense whatsoever and said she was sorry! She did not seem sorry! She was rude to my friend and simply could not give us an explanation that made sense. It was ridiculously embarrassing. The staff had served 2 customers the salmon and scrambled eggs within the space of half hour whilst we were sat there in dismay! Actually in front of our eyes!! I was losing my patience and after arguing the toss about their so call rules got up to pay the birthday breakfast bill. Begrudgingly! I have never in my life found such a stupid rule in place in any tea room in the whole of the uk never-mind local to home! It’s a shame because it’s a lovely tea room but sorry holdenwood… you did not accommodate the customer, my friend, in any way! You made a song and dance about adding a few more eggs to your pan that you were already cooking!! You made one rule for one and one for another! The next time I order the salmon and scrambled eggs and my friend is sat across from me and orders the breakfast..Will you seriously refuse her the scrambled eggs because of a rule?? It won’t happen but you need to re-think and respect each customer the same! No matter what time it is! Or what bloody day it is! Not happy! And another thing… the 2 male chefs in the kitchen should stop peering out of their hatch and watching customers eating!! It’s very intimidating and if they are not going to come out and face the music to explain their reasons for the condescending act they have just done and their lack of understanding to customers like us, they should not send out a young girl with no managerial experience or skills to deal with such a mess! They should have catered for everyone the same! IMHO. The customer is always right!

Do Dahs is a charming cafe and bistro that offers a variety of breakfast options at reasonable prices. While the menu has plenty to choose from, some customers found the portion sizes to be disappointing. The smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs and halloumi was described as overpriced for its small portion size. Additionally, the waffle with salted caramel was not freshly cooked and did not meet expectations.
Four of us went here for coffee and cakes, on Saturday 16th Sept. There was a great selection of cakes all tasty and fresh, good-sized portions. Also, there is a good selection of milk for the latte. The service was excellent and the staff were polite and friendly. There is also a good selection of hot foods etc, which we will try on our next visit. 😀

Found ourselves in a different town from the norm and decided to get some breakfast. Stumbled across Do Dahs and I'm very glad we did as it was a lovely place to be. The service from the off was excellent and the atmosphere just felt right. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and we would definitely go back again. Great job keep it up. Thanks

Service was great but the portion sizes were disappointing. Ordered smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs and halloumi which cost over £10 which was 1 small slice of sourdough with a thin layer of avocado and four slices of halloumi. Overpriced in my opinion. We also ordered waffle with salted caramel which was £4.95 so we expected freshly cooked. Unfortunately this was shop bought. Outside was warm but the middle was cold. Real disappointment compared to my last visit.

La Turka is a nice looking place but sadly the food doesn't match up, Of the 4 of us who dined , not one enjoyed it. I had the Iskender, which is supposed to be lamb kofta, chicken and Donner, strangely, everything is sliced up and smothered with sauce so it's difficult to distinguish one meat from another, It looked/tasted like the majority was Donner, Extremely overpriced, 3 starter's, 4 mains, 1 cocktail, 1 lager and 2 large wines, Inc optional service charge was £153

Nila is an institution in Rawtenstall. Raj and his team have been there over 30 years. The place has had a few spruce ups over the years and it currently looks pretty good. We had not been for sometime but went Sunday evening with friends and it was excellent. The food was lovely and we got a friendly welcome. First time dining here with my Mrs and was not disappointed. From the minute we walked in we were greeted by an extremely friendly waiter/host who provided a faultless service and couldn't of done more for us. The food was absolutely delicious, both curries were absolutely delicious as well as the chicken pakora and mixed kebab starters unfortunately didn't stay for dessert as we were so full from starters and mains because the portion sizes were bigger than anticipated (not a complaint) we were stuffed. Honestly couldn't recommend it highly enough. Its a little hidden gem too. And the inside was decorated and set out so nice and intimate in the booths. Another over rated place to dine in a town trying to be something it will never be. Saturday night here is an avoid at all costs if you want a quiet meal. It’s loud to the point you can’t have a conversation without shouting. The service was ok and our waitress was good, being on a table of four at the top of the stairs was probably the better table after passing the local rabble downstairs. The food was average at best, very bland and under seasoned, the steak was cooked well but a few slices of sirloin steak at that price is outrageous. I could go on but it’s easier to say if you want tapas there’s a far better restaurant not two minutes away.

Very filling with only eating 3 tapas. Taste is divine. Excellent, friendly service. Side entrance available for prams, wheelchairs and accessible access. Family run business and family friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning. Would give more stars if possible. Best tasting food I've had in a long time.

Top marks here. A very nice place to have a meal, with great food and lovely service. Staff were friendly, efficient and we had just the right amount of attention. The steak I had was cooked perfectly and everyone enjoyed every part of the meal. Highly recommended.

2 of the chef specials I like to try when I visit. garlic prawns on shallots and barlotti beans. main course gamberoni linguine, and a delicious garlic bread with cheese, quiet at early afternoon but definitely reccomended

Went here on a Wednesday night with 6 family members and I got the 3 course set meal. Great atmosphere, good service with good timings between each of the courses. Prices were fair and the food was really good. It all tasted great and was presented perfectly. A place I would definitely hope to go back to again.

I attended a charity evening there recently.. cancer awareness. It was a great evening, the food was lovely, consisting of veg soup and crusty bread. Chicken with a tasty sauce, and fresh veg. And a tart with ice cream, Entertainment was good, altogether a lovely evening, in a lovely place, with good service.

Nice friendly atmosphere, with fantastic food and a great price, brilliant views looking out over the hills. . Only down side I suppose is the outside of the building looking a little tatty and doesn't do it justice for what it's like inside. Would defiantly recommend and I will be returning to try out more of the menu.

My husband, two children and I had been looking for somewhere to eat on a Saturday night. The first place we tried was closed and three others were full. As we always eat in the same places we decided to head towards Haslingden as we haven't eaten in that area before and let our children tel us which direction to go and see where we ended up, we drove past the bar and grill and it looked nice so rang up to see if they had space for us, The person on the phone was really pleasant and said that they could. When we got there the menu said kids eat free before 6pm, unfortunately we arrived just after 6, but I'm glad I know for the future. I had mushrooms in a wine and butter sauce to start and my husband got the garlic and mozzarella flat bread, we shared both starters and both really enjoyed them, you can also see the chefs cooking the food whilst you wait. One of my children had pizza which was huge for a child's size so that was good and the other had chicken nuggets which they both liked. I had the spaghetti carbanara and my husband had a chicken burger, they were both fresh, hot and yummy. Mine was very creamy and delisious. We said straight away that we will go back and especially if the children eat for free before 6.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful culinary experience, Casa Tapas is a must-visit. This charming eatery offers an array of tapas that cater to calorie-conscious diners, featuring options like paella and fresh seafood such as mussels and clams, alongside delicious roasted vegetables. As someone who has explored various tapas bars across the UK, I stumbled upon Casa Tapas while wandering through the area and was immediately drawn in by its inviting ambiance.
Stunning food!! Service perfect! Beautiful atmosphere. Absolutely lovely evening. We were looked after, not rushed, and the dishes were so flavoursome. Cannot recommend enough!!!

I don’t normally put bad reviews but this place was very disappointing. From the start of walking in, the place and atmosphere was dead there was two people sat in on a Saturday night, we wondered why it was so dead !! We nearly walked out but gave the place a chance. All the food was freezer food and was out within 5 mins. The meatballs were really poor when u cut in to them you can see they are 100% freezer food warmed up why would any chef serve this kind of food ?! There was just no effort, no herbs no flavour to the food. Rubbish. Definitely will not return.

Really good selection. Enjoyed our food and drink - including Spanish cider! Last night before lockdown. Missing cinnamon for the churros! But they were hot, crispy, fresh. Recommend. Also parked directly outside.

We've been to Casa Tapas a few times and always have a very tasty meal. My husband lived in Spain for a year and rates the food as very authentic Spanish. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere. It's fairly expensive but worth the money. Will be back!

A fabulous experience at Casa Tapas. Authentic cuisine, friendly and knowledgeable staff and a good atmosphere. We shared 6 tapas between 2 and the lamb pieces were exceptional. There isn't many places still taking extra safety procedures, but this restaurant are doing it brilliantly. My only regret is not visiting sooner. We'll be back.
Cathy B — Google review
Very overpriced for the quality and quantity of food, I am aware of the portion sizes when it comes to tapas but paying almost £10 for dishes and £7 for others I wouldn’t expect to leave hungry after paying £85 for 4 people with very little on our plates. We decided to complain and the waitress was very polite and passed it on to her manager who then came over to speak to us. He was adamant his food was of quality and reasonably priced as he had been running his business for over 20 plus years… when we disagreed he got aggressive and asked me and my friends to never come back to his restaurant. We got 1 plate discounted from our bill for the inconvenience but was spoken to very rudely. The waitresses was very friendly and polite throughout our stay but management and ownership was very disappointing

I am from Spain and been in UK for about 10 years, I have been to many tapas bar in the UK some good some very good and some not so good, I have just moved in this area and found casa tapas when i was passing and saw the alhambra sign so being a lover of Spanish beer I thought I will give it a try, was not disappointed with anything, I was a bit cautious if the quality would be good, the place was quite with just two other tables, so we ordered just a few tapas and were not disappointed at all and decided to try the paella and I asked them how long it would take and was told about 40-50 min which told me that it would be cooked when I ordered it , I enjoyed the chicken paella it was as good as the the ones I have eaten in Spain. Will be going back soon with some friends who have never been

Located in Rawtenstall, Gate of India Restaurant is a top-notch Indian establishment that has been serving authentic and diverse dishes for 8 years. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with dishes that are not too oily and cater to various dietary needs and preferences. Customers have praised the food for being tasty, piping hot, and full of flavor. The starters like chicken tikka and prawn puree are highly recommended, while the mains such as tandoori chicken are beautifully prepared.
Lovely restuarant all the starters were amazing, my favourite was the chicken tikka, good portion sizes too, the prawn puree was very nice and spicy, the mains were beautiful, tandoori chicken was nicely marinated, i will be visiting more often, highly recommend this place!!

The worse Indian I've ever had. Ordered a take away on Monday night, was exited to try as heard many good comments about it, but definitely there is a problem somewhere, either that was my unlucky day or we don't taste the same way. Ordered lamb tika too salty, I e had only one bite, no way to have another bite, the chicken tandoori was too dry and also salty we had half of it, the kebab wasn't bad at all but again salty, the garlic rice was nothing special and the veg rice was OK. The sauce served with it was just hot couldn't even taste anything. The only thing I ended eating was papadom, an Indian night turned out to an omelette night, thank u guy

First time eating in here and extremely disappointed. No problem with the food was very nice but service was non existant. Had to keep going to the bar to order drinks. Empty glasses left on table all night. Lots of flies inside landing on tables.. Was told its because the front door is open. Main meals brought out with no hot burners which in my experience is standard practice in Indian restaurants to place dishes on burners. Will not be returning.

Easily the best Indian restaurant/takeaway in Rossendale. The dishes are all authentic and not to oily like most others locally. We've been a couple of times now and have enjoyed every meal we've had. The staff are friendly, and the food tasty. Portion sizes are bang on (enough to eat with not too much left over) although the rice portions may be on the small side. Recommended.

Went for a Family Meal of 9 Last night, the food was absolutely beautiful can't fault the food! Some members of the table arrived early, and the rest arrived a little late. We were rushed so much. Our left overs were poorly packaged... they were leaking and weren't packed properly for any of us! The hospitality was absolutely horrendous, we were rushed for our Drinks and Food if we had only just sat down and we were asked for drinks as, we were deciding our drinks one of the Staff members asked 3-4 times within 2 minutes, didn't give us chance to answer!! The bill was given as Table of 9, Staff wouldn't cut it down into a Recipt of Three... but they were happy to take half the tables orders and not come back thinking we had all ordered together. So, they would take half the tables orders but write the whole receipt as one. It felt like the Staff didn't even want us there however, they were happy to give us poorly packaged left overs and take the money for our food... we were treated horrendously. Expecting a tip when we were treated poorly, and given countless dirty looks and rushed for our drinks and food in general. When taking plates I was nearly elbowed in the head numerous times!! As we were trying to break down the receipt ourselves we were moved off our table, didn't give us chance to break down the order so we all had to stand near the entrance. My young daughter who is 18 month+ was given countless dirty looks! There was high chairs, but no changing room for children, so I had to change my daughter in the womens toilet on the floor!! First time going as it was recommended but will never go again.

Mario's is a delightful dining destination that captivates guests from the moment they step inside. The restaurant boasts an inviting ambiance, enhanced by soothing background music and beautifully designed interiors. Guests are welcomed by friendly staff who ensure a swift seating experience. The menu offers an impressive variety of dishes at reasonable prices, with freshly prepared meals served promptly. While the restaurant can get quite busy, most diners rave about their experiences.
Well what can I say, absolutely amazing from start to finish. My mum, her friend and I went to Mario’s this evening and when we walked in we were shocked and in awe of how beautiful this restaurant is and the music was just so inviting and nice to listen too in the background, we were greeted with lovely staff and seated fast. The menu is spectacular and very good pricing too for the quality of food you receive. We ordered and had our food very fast, freshly made and piping hot ready for us to enjoy. It was THE best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. I spent a week in Italy last year and had pasta everyday and I can honestly say Mario’s beats it all. Mario is so so friendly and easy to talk too, and I’ll certainly be back very soon. I aswell as my mum and her friend all thoroughly enjoyed our food! 10/5 stars! Blown away by this little hidden gem! Thank you 🤩🤤❤️

We were going to the theatre in Bacup and we had gone for some food at our usual venue, but unfortunately it was holding a wedding so wasn't open for dining So glad we found this little gem, it was early about 5 30pm and Mario's had just opened, we hadn't booked obviously, but there was still a large family table and a few customers already in. Our server Tom, was very helpful and polite, we told him we were going to the theatre and he said he would mention this when the order went through to the kitchen Large choices on the menu, we chose penne Carbonara and Calzone carne pizza with a tomato sauce , drinks Chardonnay and Peroni, food came quickly and was delicious, by this time the restaurant had become very busy. We don't usually have a dessert, but we decided we had time and we had creme brulee and cheesecake with caramel sauce Unfortunately there was only 1 creme brulee left as we both ordered it, but Tom came and apologised and offered an alternative, we were a bit puzzled because it was so early they had run out, but maybe they were busy on Friday evening. Please consider this Italian it's a bit out of the town centre but well worth a visit, recommend booking at weekends we were lucky on this occasion, and the free parking is a bonus

Beautiful local restaurant serving the best of Italian food put together by Mario and his experienced team of experts Mario’s menu contains all the staples you might expect to find as well as house specials and imaginative one offs tailored to your needs. There’s Pizzas, Pastas and sumptuous meat or veggie dishes all of which are exquisite and the service is overseen by Mario himself making sure you always get the best service Cocktails are fabulous and a great selection of wines, beers and spirits are all available We visit regularly and long may we continue

Great food. Good service. Interior is a little tired and would benefit from a facelift. Absolutely scandalous soft drink prices - £17.40 for 4 pints of soft drink. This is extortionate. Won't visit again for this reason.

Restaurant was extremely busy. 2 meals out of 6 were not great (lamb cutlets were ordered; out of the 3 cutlets per dish, one on each plate tasted as if the meat was turning, it wasn’t particularly nice and was left however the other 2 cutlets were fine, as were the rest of the meal). The starter (garlic mushrooms) was delicious. Asked for the lamb to be medium-rare but it was over cooked. Again not a major issue as 2/3 of it was eaten but it’s unlikely I would return.

The Siena restaurant opened up early especially for us on Sunday just so that they could accommodate our party of 6 for Father's Day! We had flown in from Denmark last minute and really struggled finding anywhere with availability at such short notice... And what a find it was! The food is utterly delicious, each of us has said it was the best spagbol/steak/prawn cocktail we had ever had! The staff were very attentive, courteous and polite and the range of drinks was great (and the Peroni is delicious). My brother has already booked to go back with his partner which speaks volumes about the place. It is a real hidden gem!

First visit here, but won't be the last. Really good Italian restaurant with lovely food at very good prices. The attention from the serving staff was perfect, the food was sublime and the owner came over and chatted ensuring we'd enjoyed our meal. I had the spaghetti and meatballs which were cooked to perfection, other diners had pizza and pasta dishes and everyone enjoyed their meals. I didn't have any wine or beer but the selection was more than enough for most people. Highly recommended.

Sorry but my 1st visit was my last. The food was good/ok. I've had worse and I've had better. The service was diabolical. Waited 25 minutes to order, then it took FORTY FIVE minutes for the starters to arrive. After they were eaten the table was cleared and then had to wait a further FIFTY TWO minutes for the maincourse. I wanted to walk out but the Mrs said to wait whilst also complaining. We could see two chefs working away in the kitchen but we were both definitely under the impression that take away orders prioritised Table customers. The bill was £75 which i think was seriously over priced for what we got. The 3 waitresses ran/ fast walked. The restaurant desperately needs more staff on both sides. Kitchen and tables. We will never go again.

The Whitaker in Rawtenstall, Lancashire is a charming museum that showcases modern art exhibitions and features a picturesque garden. It also houses a restaurant where visitors can enjoy a variety of meals, including options for children. The museum offers an enriching experience with its range of exhibitions and events, making it an ideal destination to embrace the culture of Rawtenstall. Additionally, the surrounding area of Rossendale has plenty to offer for exploration and discovery.
I attended recently with my classmates. I didn't want to spoil too much in terms of the displays in the museum, but it was a wonderful experience. The staff were very kind. The layout and display inside are stunning; I've included some pictures of what I've taken. I would love to show all the photos, but I don't want it to discourage people from going to the Whitaker. There are fantastic displays, and the café serves terrific coffee.

Really interesting things in there. Arts wasn't very interesting this time, but there is more than just that there. Visited her to meet up with friends and grab drink and lunch. Very impressed with whole set up and a fabulous place to visit, catering for all ages. Park is beautifully maintained and set out, with even a community garden encouraging people to enjoy free herbs and cuttings. A baby playgroup was being held outside, which looked great fun for all. Only managed a quick scoot around the actual house, so didn't enjoy the galleries, but chatted to staff who gave me a potted history, which matched the stunning venue.

I can't believe we've not visited the museum before today as we pass it weekly. Free parking and entrance with the loveliest of welcomes both at reception and in the cafe. Not the biggest museum but interesting exhibits, especially in the cupboard of curiosities. Great quality coffee, the food menu looks good too, sadly we won't be going for a pint with its £8.00 price tag.

Visited here on a late Sunday afternoon ( bh aswell) . Pleased by free parking. Disabled access If needed. Was slightly disappointed as the cafe was shut that day but the museum.was open. Free entry to museum but donations welcomed to help support. This is a hidden little gem. Lots of interesting things to look at Inside .. a few pics to tease to the spoils but certainly doesn't show all the things to haze upon. The exhibition we saw was voiced by Jane horrors and is only there until June 1st. Will definitely be going to pack to see future installations.

Brilliant local museum hiding in plain sight housing a fascinating permanent collection, especially the Cabinet of Curiosities. The museum hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions, and a range of community activities and workshops. The grounds feature a community garden, tennis courts, and sculptures, and there is now a bar and restaurant. Free entry, with donation points which take cash or card, and there's a gift shop. A short walk from Rawtenstall town centre, and accessible via the 464 bus route (Accrington - Rochdale).

Good customer service! the staff are attentive and friendly. No wait time to be seated and flexibility in the ordering from set menu. The chefs in the kitchen did an amazing job with the food which tasted very good however a few things i did notice. The batch of tomatoes used today were noticeable in the classic bruschetta and the tomato sauce which came with the meatballs. The bruschetta were very nice but the tomato sauce that came with the meatballs was a little too acidic. A little sugar on the table made a huge difference and it is something i should have mentioned to the chef. Adding cheese to this made it worse but glad i tried it before the cheese. Dish still extremely nice but a difference between a 4 and 5. The fish cakes were extremely nice and making up mushroom soup for us when it was not the soup of the day deserves A+++. thank you and it was very tasty . The steak had taste and was very nice, the medium steak was cooked a little too long but still kept its juices and flavour (personal preference and no negative impact on the dish). The sauce was a little too strong and overpowered the steak / veg rather than complement it. Placing two peoples portions of veg on one plate next to my wife who loves veg was a bad idea. The two portions for two people quickly turned into a portion just for her! The Jalapeno salami pizza was extremely nice however IF it had olives and you replaced salami with bacon and a sprinkle of pepper it would be 5!!!! Personal preference again as spice seems to take away the enjoyment and taste from eating the salami. For ££ each, having two starters and a main it does fill you up! We will definitely be back soon. Thankyou

We quite regularly order a takeaway meal or eat at the Indian Harvest. The food is always fresh, delicious and service is great and accommodating dietary needs. The garlic chilli chicken, butter chicken and garlic naan are favourites! Booking a table is recommended for weekends / busy times.

GemNi Restaurant is a true gem located in the heart of Rawtenstall, offering an exceptional dining experience with outstanding food and service. The restaurant overlooks the bustling market and provides a delightful ambiance for any occasion. Guests have praised the delicious dishes such as Black Pudding Wontons, Charred Feta and Tomato Salad, and Tomahawk Steak for 2. The White Chocolate Mousse is described as light, fluffy, and perfectly tasty.
Top marks in all categories, the food was great, we had the 5 course taster menu at £50 and it was delicious. Being a taster menu you only got small portions so we wasn't overly full at the end of 5 courses. Unusual combinations ie. Pear and Gorgonzola ice cream and curried parsnip and pears but it all went together really well. You can have a 7 course taster menu which includes another middle course and a cheese board for £65. Matched wines are an additional £40pp. Nb. You can only have these if ALL the guests at the table are having the same. I don't eat meat so they happily swapped the partridge course for the goat's cheese pithivier from the main menu. It's not cheap, cost us (£70pp, incl. Drinks) but it's worth it. Lovely modern decor all whites, grey and black. Sorry I've not more photos inside but the place was busy. Make sure you book, especially if it's towards the weekend. I'll definitely call again.

We love this place. Only had the Sunday lunch once due to work commitments and it was fantastic we try to lunch here once a week. It’s the best. Today we were served by a lovely young lady called Robyn. She was fantastic and very attentive. Fantastic service and as always impeccable food.

Popped it on Friday eve and managed to get a spot. Service was friendly and attentive. Menu was varied and supper club was also available. Great wine selection! Food was presented beautifully and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Would definitely recommend!

First time here and had Sunday lunch / tea. Wow it was fabulous. Came on a board, chicken, beef, yorkshire's and all the trimmings. Plenty of food and everything exquisitely cooked. Lovely staff and atmosphere. One of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had.

The food here is top notch, went for Thursday supper club, had bread and beetroot hummus, Fishcakes starter, mussles and the burger all beautifully presented, great value for money. The atmosphere was great as it was busyish . The only thing was the service Wasent great, 20 mins at the table and no drink order taken, we were In 50 minutes before we had our food, the staff were polite and apologised but blamed the kitchen but once food came out it was quick, we had to ask for extra drinks although they did ask if our food was OK a number of times. Because of this we decided not to leave a tip but we dident realise that a service charge had already been added to our bill and only realised after we had left, I don't mind tipping for goid service but it Wasent and we weren't verbally told the service charge had been applied. Would defenatly go back as the food was amazing.

It was my first time visiting this little gem of a restaurant. Simple, elegant decor and furnishings create a relaxed calming atmosphere. I chose the soup which was smoked bacon and celeriac and tasted so divine, I could happily have had a vat of it, that came with a black pudding bread roll, which added another level of flavour to the dish. For my main I chose the Asian duck salad, which came with paprika fries and curry mayonnaise. The duck leg was confited perfectly, falling off the bone, and the skin was crispy all over. Another dish I could not fault. The staff were polite and friendly without being in your face. I will definitely be coming back, as there were so many other dishes I wanted to try.

The only complaint would be the cutlery isn't easy to hold and actually hurts your hand when you're cutting into something. Fantastic food, and lovely drinks. The Sunday dinner was great! Great, friendly service. Not much atmosphere. But nice Sunday lunch!

The Fig Tree, located at 45B Bank Street in Rawtenstall, is a charming and welcoming cafe that offers a variety of light bites and breakfast options served all day. The cafe has outside parking and a good number of tables, although reservations can limit available seating. The menu features homemade pea & ham soup, club sandwiches, paninis, salads, and daily specials. Visitors praise the friendly staff and excellent service provided by the young couple who run the place.
Met a friend for breakfast this morning and wow! So impressed it was absolutely delicious and the man serving was lovely and friendly. Will definitely be back - thank you!

I used to come to fig tree a few years back and it was great. Staff were amazing and food was lovely. I've been told its under new management now so I didn't go. But decided to today and wish I never bothered. The person who served me was just rude and the food wasn't great at all. I got poached egg on toast with only 1 egg which I found strange because everywhere else gives you 2 or 3. It wasn't great anyway. Then I had ordered a fruit teacake which they forgot about. It came after asking for it and it was burnt. I did mention it when I went to pay and he did say if I had said something then he would of got me another which is fine but it shouldn't of even been sent out like that in the first place. He took it off my bill. But I definitely won't be going back. It just doesn't have the same great atmosphere/ amazing food and amazing staff like it used to I'm afraid.

Impromptu visit to the local area and I stumbled across this little gem. Reasonably price and really good quality. I had the large breakfast and was delicious - set me up for the day. Dog friendly too. I think the lady serving was called Kate, and she made me feel really welcome. Will visit next time I am back up North.

I have paid another visit to The Fig Tree in Rawtenstall. What a lovely, quaint well run place this is. The food, and service is excellent. It’s run by a lovely young couple. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I have also been on one of their Tapas evenings. What a great night had by all. The food, the atmosphere & service excellent as always. I highly recommend this little gem of a place, where everyone is made to feel very welcome

Lovely little cafe on the side of bank Street. There is outside parking and a fair few tables. The downside is they allow table reservation and sometimes when you walk in more than half is reserved and people are coming in and out or then asking if it's OK to share a table. Food is nice however options are limited. The soup of the day is always good and the bread is fresh. It's a pity the wedges do not have a hand-cut home made feel and the sandwiches are also nice. A bit baffled with the crisps and micro salad on the plate but it does offer a nice little extra. The coleslaw is creamy and nice. The price is a little above average as a little more and you could get a two main meals at other establishments rather than sandwiches, soup and wedges. Nice addition to Rawtenstall and people are friendly. An added bonus is the colouring books and pens for kids. The seating is a little cramped but it's not so bad. Lovely place and will visit again.

Nestled conveniently near the post office, North Street Indian Restaurant is a charming family-owned establishment that offers an authentic taste of North Indian cuisine. The restaurant prides itself on its warm atmosphere and attentive service; guests often rave about the friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience.
Nice little hidden gem around the corner next to the post office, the staff are very friendly and accomodating, zuned is very good waiter, he will make your night special, very friendly. This is a family owned and run indian restuarant which is why you will find that they are more caring and will cater to your needs. The food is very tasty and succulent. The price of the food is very good for the area, i used to go here quite a bit and on all occasions there has been no problems and i will be coming again soon. Keep up the good work lads.

Sadly the restaurant has is tired and looks unclean. There were what looked like rubbish bags in a doorway near where we were eating. The carpets are filthy and the flooring is all taped up rather than replaced. This makes me wonder what state the kitchen might be in. I wanted to leave rather than eat but my daughter insisted we stay to try the food. Chicken was dry and the salad looked over use by date. Staff were friendly. Won’t be returning.

Lynn F — Google review
Feel bad that I couldnt mark it zero. Set meal for two - £19. Soup and crackers were good. Spring rolls were bland and the ribs you get were short ribs swimming in a sticky sauce. Once the sauce was scraped off the ribs were so tough that they were attempted then all thrown in the bin. On to the main course....the rice was "meh" and the sweet and sour chicken was utterly disgusting, warmed up tasteless mush. Black bean chicken was like chicken in gravy and so within minutes both main courses were in the bin. The place itself was very drab and tired looking so maybe that should have set the alarm bells ringing. Staff were very polite and the service was quick and after a hard day in the garden and just wanting to start the weekend with a beer and a new takeaway we were gutted. Have driven past many times and I shall continue to do so from now on.....what a shame after reading such good reviews.

The Drop Off Cafe is a hidden gem that truly shines as a venue for special occasions, like milestone birthdays. Recently, it hosted a fabulous 50th celebration where the ambiance was nothing short of magical. The function room boasts excellent lighting and acoustics, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for guests to enjoy music and dancing. The attentive staff, including Moira and Bryn, ensured everything ran smoothly from planning to execution, making the experience seamless and enjoyable.
I had chosen The Drop Off for my 50th celebrations and they did not disappoint. Both Moira and Bryn looked after me so well and on the evening itself they were on hand to help out, nothing was too much trouble. All my guests commented on ‘the vibe’ and how gorgeous it was. For the buffet, I decided to go for the pies, chips, mushy peas and gravy…..wow it was delicious. If you’re looking a venue with the wow factor The Drop Off is for you. I highly recommend it 😊

Oh what a night!! Having my 50th at The Drop Off was such a special occasion for me, it is simply the most phenomenal function room which creates an amazing atmosphere for all the guests. The lighting, the acoustics for the band, the dance floor all worked together to create a brilliant night. Working with Moira and Bryn planning the night was perfect, so friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about it all. On the night Nathan ran the bar effortlessly and full of character. All that came were full of praise for you all in what you’ve created, you should be immensely proud of yourselves!! I cannot thank you enough for making my 50th a night I’ll never forget!!!

We added The Drop Off Café to the Kaldi Coffee Trail and it definitely earned its place. Stopped in for a coffee (which was spot on) and ended up relaxing outside on the patio next to the pergola, under the shade of a big tree which was perfect on a sunny morning. The space had a laid-back vibe but had a good steady flow of locals and visitors coming in for breakfast. Also, big bonus points for being dog friendly, which is always a win in our book! We also clocked the co-working space inside which looked like a really interesting setup, which could come in handy for us in the future the next time we're in the area. Great coffee, great atmosphere, we’ll be back.

The first important thing about "The Drop Off Cafe"- they have the cutest gatekeepers, Ada & Finn- two very friendly and social dogs. So- but now off to the Cafè itself: The Drop Off Cafè is about 30mins by car north of Manchester, located in Edenfield- in a valley between some smaller mountains. Based in an old stone building it has enough space to accomondate smaller hroups, a patio in the backyard is also available. It's a family run restaurant, with very friendly staff and great food- i went there for breakfast and was amazed by the freshly prepared food and smoothies. Their menue lists vegetarian and vegan options as well- i think everyone will find something here. They made the order just perfect for me (Bacon, Eggs, Beans, Sausages, Hash Browns) and their sourdough bread is freshly baked- an english breakfast comes to approx. 12£. The cafè itself is a bit hidden from the street, it's like a co-working and co-operative space with nice interiour and a lot to explore. I can highly recommend this Cafè if you are in the area- you'll find lovely people and hearty food.

I want to mention staff accidentally mixed up our order with another during a busy period so no fault of their own, but they were very kind to refund us. Nino’s Takeaway is a delightful gem that you might stumble upon while searching for a quick bite. With its inviting atmosphere and the sight of roaring pizza ovens, it’s hard to resist stepping inside. The pizzas are crafted right before your eyes using fresh, locally sourced organic ingredients, ensuring every slice bursts with flavor. Their chips are equally impressive—crispy yet soft, likely oven-cooked to perfection without any greasiness.
Pizza dough hand rolled out fresh in front of your eyes, cooked to perfection in a proper log fire stone pizza oven! I absolutely love the pizza from here, always friendly staff and they don't charge an arm and a leg either, couldn't recommend enough!

Absolutely horrible?all meals loaded with salt and inedible a complete waste of £45 and uncooked mushrooms in the pizza and cold rib meat I could go on but I'm absolutely ripping. Forgot to mention the chilli sauce was very watery and no taste must be out of date

THIS IS NOT NINOS IN RAWTENSTALL!!! I've seen some high rated reviews that are talking about the one in Rawtenstall- this Ninos is the one in Haslingden. And this place is anything but good. Absolutely awful and way too expensive. 40 quid for three bowls of pure salt. Got a carbonara, cost 11 quid and it had only 5 tiny pieces of pasta. Rip off.
Shloomple — Google review
Ordered for collection and arrived 10 minutes early hoping to catch it straight out of the oven, it was already done and under the counter. When we got home 2 mins drive away the pizza was barely luke warm and not very good. We had half and half with one side Hawaiian and the other with olives. Not sure what the take on Hawaiian is but we had peppers, sweetcorn and pineapple but no ham. Not sure if this is halal as I had not checked previously as I assumed it to be Italian. The olive side had 8 olives on for £2 and they were not even cut in half so really a Rip off. The garlic bread was nice to be honest but still cold. It’s a shame as this place used to be top drawer for pizzas but I won’t be going again as i can get a better pizza for a lot less.

Found this place by chance after looking for somewhere to get some food I saw the roaring pizza ovens so span the car around and went in got a pizza to go and had some chips as well WOW absolutely stunning food and so fresh. They made the pizza right in front of you will all the fresh locally sourced organic ingredients. The chips/fries were so fresh, soft and not greasy I think they may have been oven cooked all prepared in store and topped off with a classic bottled coca-cola. The staff where really friendly and the chefs are brilliant. I'm going to come from Blackpool just to eat here again. 10/10

Aaaaah Sav's pizza!!!! Always top notch and now he's got a wood fired oven. Smashing it out of the park. And the chicken wings! And the ribs! If you've been to one of their previous restaurants you know it's worth the trip out to this take out spot (with a few little tables for eat in) just outside Haslingden. Find a nice view somewhere close and eat it piping hot straight out the box. Or driving home with the kids in the back! Either way it's superb authentic Italian pizza and that's really hard to beat.
David O — Google review
Being relatively new to the area finding place that makes exceptional pizza is vital if you love good food. Tried a few places and either the food just weren't to standard or the delivery times were awful and you end up with a cold pizza and a driver still wanting to be paid. Ninos have the best selection of pizzas I've come across, quality of food is unquestionable and delivery times are well within an expected time. If you want good pizza and don't want to be disappointed then you have to try this place! This post has now been edited - due to being told that the MINIMUM spend for delivery is £15!!! Seriously................... Time to find a new place to order food from.

Regulars rave about their consistently delicious offerings, making it a go-to spot for many locals who enjoy indulging in this classic dish every week.
Always lovely. One of the best chippy's in the area. Had food from them almost every Friday lunchtime for the last 3-4 years and it's never been less than lovely. Edit. Went again after they re-opened after full lockdown and they are still cooking some lovely fish and chips. Nice precautions too with the plastic shields.

Very disappointed. Have been coming here for a while for their fish and chips which were always fresh fish , freshly cooked while you wait. This time they provided something more like supermarket prepared battered fish. Was it cod… really? Was it fresh? The batter was like leather. It was dry and chewy. I will be giving this place a miss in the future.

Guests rave about the attentive service from staff like Ellie and Jordan, who go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels welcome.
We attended the Bottomless Brunch for my sister's birthday and was served by Ellie, who was fantastic!! She was polite, professional and friendly and made us feel incredibly welcome! Jordan (the assistant manager) was also serving as it was busy, and again, was fantastic! The food was lovely, the drinks were constant and there was a chilled atmosphere, even during a busy period! We will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends and family. Thank you such a good afternoon with yourselves!

I’m absolutely blown away by how great our night was! The staff were amazing, kind, attentive, funny and all round incredible! You gave the start of our friend’s hen night a perfect boost. The food was great! Big portions and brilliant vegetarian options. The veggies in our group said it was a nice change not to be faced with a stuffed pepper or mushroom 😂 thank you again.

I would just like to express how much of a great venue this is and the bottomless brunch is amazing. I visited on Saturday 18th October 2025 with 14 girlfriends to celebrate my 66th Birthday and Retirement and we were not disappointed at all. The staff were amazing (we had two new staff on their first day and they were spot on) friendly, attentive, accomodating and all round excellent. We all had a fantastic time, the food and drinks flowed all afternoon and we didn't have to wait at all, the bar staff were there taking our next orders before we had finished our drinks. All round great value for money, atmosphere was great and we all had a brilliant time so, Thank You to you all xx

What an absolutely incredible service. Jordan was such a fantastic server from start to finish, absolutely insane service and hyping us all up to get drinks. Our bottomless brunch was such a lovely day out, our drinks were never empty and the food was absolutely Devine. Beth and Chloe between bar and running food, I couldn’t describe how cheerful and energetic they all were. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bottomless brunch, we are absolutely hammered!! Thank you so much!

Jordan greeted us when we arrived at the brunch, and her enthusiasm for the first order was incredible. He kept the service prompt and efficient, made the ambiance lively and cheerful, and had a great conversation with us. He also gave us some excellent recommendations for our following night at Tiger Lounge. I couldn’t suggest this kind of staff service more; he made the evening lively and enjoyable.

We had booked for a bottomless brunch 24/05/25 for a party of 7. Had a fab time, the atmosphere was great, the music was good. The food was served hot, tasted great. Drinks flowing. Jordan was very attentive, great people skills and service, made sure we all had a great time. Thank you Jordan.

I came here with two of my best friends for dinner, my friends and I haven’t been before so we had a look at the menu and chose bottomless brunch. The food was served in bits as to keep it warm and fresh which I liked a lot as a lot of other places give you it all at once. The drinks menu both alcoholic and non-alcoholic had lots of choice and the bartenders were knowledgeable about the food as well as drinks. I had a good night with my friends and I will definitely be coming back to a tiger lounge restaurant.

Visitors have praised the cleanliness, modern decor, and reasonable prices at Kashmir Restaurant.
Lovely polite staff, helpful and welcoming. Beautiful and clean dinning area. Loved the lighting. Food is amazing. Plenty of choice, staff able to guide with recommendations. Brilliant portions sizes and prices. Highly recommend dips and mutton chops.

We had such a wonderful time dining at Kashmir! It was the perfect spot for an old school friends’ get-together. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and served in generous portions, while the service was warm and welcoming. Khan was a fantastic host who really made us feel at home. The décor is modern and inviting, and everything — even the toilets — was spotless. We’ll definitely be returning soon 😊

Visited over the weekend. Impressive interior and very clean restaurant. Busy on a Saturday night as expected, hence the delay in food being served...Well worth the wait, as the food was divine. Management was very polite/ professional and kept us updated for the delay and multi tasked around the Bar/ welcoming guests and maintaining a Tight Ship!! Impressed.. will book in advance for my next visit.

Just wanted to write a review after another lovely family meal at the Kashmir. This has become our go-to place for a great curry when my brother and Dad come over for a visit. We’re never disappointed - they have a fab selection of starters (personal favourite is the veg samosa chaat!) as well as the traditional main courses and lots of chef specials. We’re always made to feel very welcome… and the Sunday Banquet is excellent value.

MoCA Asian Bistro - Queens is a contemporary fusion establishment with an exciting blend of Asian flavors and a vibrant nightclub atmosphere. Its menu offers innovative dishes that showcase their culinary creativity. Customers can indulge in delectable appetizers such as calamari and baby short ribs, followed by main courses featuring chicken, steak, and options of white or brown rice. For dessert, they offer enticing choices like green tea ice cream and fried Oreo ice cream.
Second time at MoCa and it's always a pleasure. Our server was very nice and suggested great dishes. Went with a party of 4 for a birthday and even got free shots. The food was amazing, we ordered multiple appetizers and 1 entree that was shared which was the crispy duck, definitely good, just wish it was more fulfilling. Definitely check out the bar appetizers even if you're not at the bar, they are worth it. I personally love the atmosphere and the semiprivate booths, wonderful for a small party of 4-5 people. It's definitely a bit expensive, some dishes and drinks are above the average price so keep that in mind, but for special occasions it might be the best Asian fusion option in forest hills.

This place felt like we were dining in a museum. The atmosphere was beautiful, like a modern-ancient rendition of an Asian art house. We dined over the lobster tacos, the "Out of Control" roll, Sweetheart roll, Smoked salmon sushi (amazing!), the Kani and Tuna hand rolls, and shrimp dumplings. We will definitely be back!
Charoy T — Google review
Took my mother here for her first experience. She was positively raving about the shrimp dumplings. My wife and I have always enjoyed dining here. It's upscale. You should dress accordingly (optional, of course, but in my opinion, helps set the mood for you). Well worth the trip down Austin st. (Or one of their other locations)

The overall experience at was very pleasant and wonderful. The staff was nice and the food I had was delicious. The sangria duck is the best I ever had. The sake paired nicely with my meal. I had a lovely time and it's worth going back.

Very wonderful experience! Ordering was very easy and there were so many great options to choose from. We had a pescatarian dining with us at the time and our server helped pick out good tasting fish options and even substituted other things in the bento boxes for them. Speaking of the bento boxes, the presentation of the 4 ordered were so well done, and it was pleasing to both the eyes and the stomach. So delicious! Even the miso soup was great. We ordered something for takeout as well and it came nicely packed and very quick. The place itself is very comfortable to be in with a little chill now and then from the door but lights and even the cupboards looks very stylish. Everything was so clean and put together, and even the way they handled the plates made me feel safer about eating raw fish since it seemed so tidy. The only issue I had was that the ginger ale seemed to be watered down which was a bit strange, but it might have just been the ice

I had some doubts about this place as I came here for their sushi before and it seemed overpriced for the quality. This time around, I’m really glad we got the entrees. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes especially the udon noodles they were soft yet chewy. The eggplants were well cooked but I thought it could use more flavor. The miso soup was quite delicious as well.

I used to eat here more often but now I have a reason to go back. Their NYC restaurant pri-fixe menu allowed me to try a few of their dishes and they were great. The Mongolian beef entree was amazing. Definitely will come back for it.

The Woolpack is a charming pub that caters to people with dietary restrictions, particularly those with Coeliac Disease. They offer a separate gluten-free menu with a wide variety of options for starters, mains, and desserts. Customers have praised the generous portions and delicious taste of the gluten-free lasagne and garlic bread. The staff is known for being accommodating and attentive to special requests, such as providing water and even cutting up a burger for a customer's dog.
Wow! It's been so long since I've seen a gluten free menu as large as this! The cheese and onion pie was gorgeous, fantastic pastry and the dessert menu was extensive! Worth the journey, I'll definitely be back!!

Lovely small pub nearby the hotel I was staying at. I've been here twice now. The first time I come I had the chicken and hampi of which was delicious with mashed potato and today when I came I had chicken goujons to start and à salt and pepper chicken pizza which was delicious, nicely cooked and the pizza was sliced which is rare, bonus points there. A nice relaxed atmosphere, unfortunately I had big foot arrive and sit next to my table and he just proceeded to burp loudly and not even think he was doing anything wrong, other than that I had a lovely meal and relaxing evening... Bar the one burping clientele.

Brilliant pub . Lovely building with convenient parking . I’m coeliac and it’s so hard to find anywhere with a good varied and safe menu . Came upon this place on Facebook by chance and so glad I did , was in touch with them before we came just to check a few things and they couldn’t have been more helpful . Finally got to go today and wow ! So happy with the service and the food . The first proper meal I’ve had out without feeling nervous . I had the burger of the week with onion rings, chips , salad and ordered a side order of a garlic bread , it was all amazing and for dessert I had apple crumble and custard , couldn’t eat it all as there was a big bowlful. Served with care and even offered gluten free vinegar ! Never once have I had that option . Very impressed and we will be back. Even gave me a takeaway pizza box to take my garlic bread home in which I will eat later 😋, main menu great for non coeliac husband who had an all day breakfast and sticky toffee pudding , we’re both so full ☺️

Great pub! The GF menu has nearly all the same options as the normal menu and the price is the same too! They have GF beer available. We ordered for our whole family from the GF menu, it makes cross contamination control so much easier with little toddlers. Us adults had home made steak and ale pie which was delicious! The kids had sausage and chips. The staff were friendly too. Very Coeliac friendly.

What a great pub, offering lovely food at a reasonable price. Called in tonight with my partner and was gutted to see the Stilton and Guinness meat pie was sold out, it's superb! Mentioned it to the staff and Chef said he would do one for me. Thank you. What service, nice guy as well, and all the staff are so friendly. Could not recommend more. We will be back very soon.
M5 — Google review
Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious, the only issue I have is that the steak and ale pie says that it's shortcrust pastry but it was a puff pastry lid. I've had this twice so far and they have both been with a puff pastry lid, and it almost seems to have the description of the peppered steak pie, so maybe they sent me the wrong pie twice. Other than that I would recommend this pub.
Joshua M — Google review
A very nice, and friendly enough pub. I had my first ever alcohol free beer on draught here, after not seeing it available in 100+ pubs, and it went down a treat! I was already feeling quite hungry before I visited but the remarkably good service influenced me into eating there, and I wasn’t disappointed! Albeit the pie was smaller than I’m used to in pubs but then I don’t think that that really matters when it tastes good! (Kinda closer to a chippies pie if I’m being honest but it does add to the informal charm of this place) A nice, and relaxing atmosphere to boot. I’m sure that I’ll be back at some point or another

Thai Shack is an incredibly impressive establishment with exquisite flavors and authentic Thai cuisine. If you are concerned about the spiciness, it would be beneficial to notify the staff in advance. The restaurant consistently delivers fresh, piping hot dishes that never fail to satisfy. Additionally, they offer a well-stocked bar serving Singha on tap and a variety of Oriental bottled beers. Situated near Rawtenstall market, Thai Shack is definitely worth a visit for its remarkable food and welcoming atmosphere.
Wow, what a find this place is, had a really pants sort of day and driving past this place was a real find. Really friendly staff, quick service for really tasty food with plenty of flavour and a bit of a lip smacking kick. Of course the problem was I made the mistake and told my wife about it, so guess what, we’ll be both coming next time. Top tip, eat it as soon as possible for ultimate flavour.

This place is absolutely amazing. The flavours are so divine. It's proper Thai food so if you are scared of the heat, it might be worthwhile letting the staff know beforehand. We have been here a number of times now and never been disappointed. Everything is cooked fresh and served piping hot. They have a small bar for drinks and serve Singha on the tap. Also have a selection of Oriental beers in bottles. Definitely worth a visit if you are near Rawtenstall market where it's located.

I'm always really enjoyed eating at Thai Shack and have for many years but the attitude from staff tonight was horrendous. Booked a table 3 weeks ago, the girl who was asked by another member of staff to process it seemed inexperienced and new and failed to ask for our name and number till I promted her. On arrival today with 2 friends who had traveled some distance to eat with us, we were told they don't take booking as it's foodie Friday and essentially called us liars.. There was no apology and the attitude extremely poor. Such a shame from what previously has been such an enjoyable experience.

Amazing food, great people!!! The food is so tasty. I regularly pop down to the indoor Thai shack bar for a nice G&T in the indoor bar, and some salt and pepper wings on a Saturday afternoon! The chef, Colin always makes my special chicken and king prawn Kra Pow - my favourite dish with a kick!

Only popped in for a pint but ended up having some wings, we had the jack Daniels BBQ wings, now I know wings and these were the best in the area hands down. I saw the the food coming out of the kitchen and the burgers looked amazing. We are going to return for an evening meal soon as the menu looks amazing too. Staff were great and you drinkers will know what I mean when I say this, the pint was the cleanest I've had in a while. Hidden jem of a place get yourselves down there 10/10

Amazing food! Been here several times and will be back for more. The food is full of flavour, a nice menu to choose from and friendly service. My one improvement would be that the special main that I had tonight (steak in the thai salad dressing) should be made a regular on the menu as it was one of the best Thai dishes I have had in a long time!
Gareth J — Google review
Tried Thai Shack for the first time last night and to be totally honest it was very disappointing. Ordered Salt n Pepper Buffalo Wings ... but the wings we received were definitely not “Buffalo” , they were tiny and not very tasty. Also the meals had very dry chicken and lack of prawns .... for the cost of the food I really expected better, we will not be going back unfortunately.

If you're on the hunt for a standout takeaway experience, look no further than The Hut - Rossendale Street Food Takeaway. This gem offers an array of delicious options that feel homemade, from their mouthwatering pulled pork burgers to flavorful piri-piri burritos and crispy sweet potato fries. Customers rave about the freshness and quality of the food, which is a step above typical fast food fare.
Great food, fastly becoming our new favourite for take away. It's not your normal pizza and burgers here, this is proper food! The pizza base is thin with a good chew to it, with a decent amount of quality toppings. The burgers are home made and fresh . Don't think there's going to be enough on your order? You can customise your burger, hotdog, pizza or salad to have what ever extras you like. Had been wanting to try this place for a while and we're so glad we did, everything has been great and arrived when they've said or they will let you know if it's going to be a bit later than previously thought. Top food, doesn't disappoint.

Ordered last night for the first time. Pulled pork burger with cheese, piri-piri burrito and sweet potato fries. So good..... I agree with some of the other comments that it is a bit more expensive, but 100% worth it! Best takeaway we have had - just proper food. Customer service great, they rang after order received as original burrito filling had sold out, and suggested alternative. Well deserved 5⭐

Ordered for the first time last night and would HIGHLY recommend! The food tasted amazing! So fresh, it’s almost like it was cooked at home! The delivery guy was very friendly. Delivery time was quick compared to others. I wouldn’t care if they were late delivering, because the food would be worth the wait! -yes it is a little more expensive, IF comparing to other takeaways in the area BUT they are by far the best takeaway place I’ve eaten from in a long time. It was worth every penny!!

Pretty good. I ordered a vegan burger with cheese and it was really yummy. My only criticism really is it was quite overpriced for an, albeit very nice burger... It came with nachos and I think I must have misunderstood the concept cause I was asked on the phone if I wanted anything with them and I assumed they'd at least come with cheese, so I said no. Just before anyone says it, I'm vegetarian, so yes, I wanted cheese. I was just kinda disappointed at how we paid £9 for some salty Doritos (basically) and a tasty burger. I'd have paid about £6 for that tbh but those nachos weren't worth £2. I'll say better things, I'm sure, but for now my opinion stands. The burger really was yummy though... And the staff were nice. The rest of my family said their burgers weren't great and they were disappointed with the nachos, too. I hope to see your business grow and flourish.

First time ordering from here and was blown away. Yea the prices were a little bit more than other takeaway's, but you definitely get top notch and fresh delicious food. And really good portions too. Love the presentation and the cardboard boxes etc. You really get what you pay for without a doubt. Definitely will be ordering again in the near future. It was all delicious. Thanks guys. 😁
Debbie W — Google review
Good standard of ingredients for the most part and I enjoyed my burger but I thought the price point is a little too high. I was still hungry afterwards. I realise they’re offering something a little different in the area but portion sizes could be improved - the burger was relatively small for the price and the wings didn’t have much meat on. They also forgot the sauces, which can be forgiven. I will probably give it another go...

Seemed nice when we walked in, lovely and clean. Was spoilt by being served very over done toasted teacake and after paying and then outside the building, was told by a waitress we had not paid, how embarrassing when people were sat outside. Get your facts right and check with your staff before accusing new customers of not paying. Won't be returning which is a shame as the menu seemed really good, and meals looked really nice.

Very nice food, prices are pretty good too, only reason lost one star is the delivery charge of £3.50 and the chicken tikka masala is one of the sweetest i ever tasted like it was uneatable, but other than that the food was lovely, i especially liked the chicken karai, will deffinately be ordering again sometime when i get the chance, but that delivery charge is just too high for such a short distance. But thanks again for the food

Beef Firecracker, very flavourful! Really enjoyed it and looking forward to trying the rest of the menu! Very friendly and nice staff! Worth the drive from Bolton, thanks guys :)

Excellent & really friendly service from the lads from Suru. I've been here countless times travelling from the manchester area as there's nothing similar around here. I've tried near enough everything from menu (noodle bar & burger bar) & the foods always been tasty, full of flavours and authentic to japanese street food. Never a hit & miss with the food or service unlike some other places. Reasonably priced too. Credit given where it's deserved! :)

Best food and service ever! Trying to be there every Friday, food always at top quality, never had a issue. Once there was chicken wings missing in my order and next time got very good discount which tells they do care for Thier customers. Highly recommended! Keep it up guys!

Fantastic food, fresh taste & full of flavour. Great portion size & taste buds had a great workout. 2nd time using & can't believe we left it so long. Will be back very soon.

Food and Service from Suru was amazing. Katsu Burger was so delicious. The just eat delivery driver never showed up at the house even though it said delivered. Phoned Suru and not only did the chef remake my order but came and hand delivered it. Service is beyond 👌 Can't recommend enough.
Rhianna — Google review
Not sure if I left a review already. But my past 2 experiences have been so nice and friendly that I'll be popping past again today for a cheeky takeout. Missus told me not to eat out after work but I just can't resist the place and just won't tell her (though I did try tempting her by saying I'd bring some noodles back). Keep up the friendly service and lovely food.

The food is the tastiest in the area. As soon as I opened the tub my mouth started watering. As they're on just eat took ages to come but once it got here, sweet lord it was good!

Owned by the warm-hearted duo, Grace and Owen, this cafe stands out for its beautifully decorated interiors and friendly vibe. Guests rave about the delicious food options available, including impressive vegetarian and vegan selections that cater to diverse dietary preferences. Whether you're indulging in their famous eggs Benedict or savoring a fresh breakfast spread, each dish is crafted with care and presented beautifully.
A large group of us on holiday had breakfast/brunch here on a Sunday morning back in June. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to mill around for a good few hours and helped us look after a toddler. The food was very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. I recommend the eggs Benedict. The decor is fab too. All the staff were very friendly and clearly care about their customers and maintaining their fantastic business. We live so far away in Newcastle unfortunately or I’d be there there every week.

Beautiful place to eat that we stumbled across today and definitely will be coming back. The staff were incredible and had such lovely manners and were very welcoming. The food was gorgeous and so well priced for what you’re getting. We had the cheese and onion pie that was homemade. I have to say it’s up there with the best pie I’ve ever had.

We like to treat ourselves to breakfast once a week for that luxury we have to travel. Today we stumbled across this bistro on Facebook didn't know what to expect as not alot of places cater for vegetarian/vegan but these did not disappoint the place had a beautiful warming atmosphere the service couldn't of been better! The food was amazing! Fresh and definitely filling we will definitely be returning. I only recommend this to people who appreciate good food 5* 👌

Had such a lovely breakfast here this morning, both food and service were amazing! Didn’t catch the name of the girl who served us but she was so accommodating and kind.

What an absolute gem of a place. Now the food in absolutely gorgeous!! As is the atmosphere and wow our two doggies received yummy sausages. BUT the customer service here is on another level!! Can’t do enough for us. We had lunch and then returned following day for brunch and once again outstanding food and service. Can’t wait to return this is definitely myself and my besties go to place. Kenny and Henry loved it too. Now what really stuck with us was how accommodating they were to our doggies as Henry is a very nervous doggie, they provided seating to our request so he felt comfortable and didn’t make it an issue. Thank you so much for everything. We will return 5 stars xoxo

Such a wonderful experience this morning at The Water Trough. The lovely owner was so accommodating to my dietary needs, really appreciated the consideration. Me and my partner got the standard half trough and the veggie half trough, both thoroughly enjoyed! The raspberry and white chocolate matcha was 10/10. Highly recommend! All round very enjoyable experience. Thank you!

Absolutely loved this cafe, the food was gorgeous, beautifully presented, and the chef popped out to ask if the food was OK for us. High quality reasonably priced food. The staff are warm and attentive, creating a lovely atmosphere, making us feel really welcome. The cafe itself is beautifully decorated, we will definitely be returning.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of modern Salford, Happy Valley Chinese Takeaway is a beloved local gem that has been delighting residents with its exceptional Chinese cuisine for years. Located conveniently near Salford University and Media City, this takeaway spot offers a diverse menu that caters to various tastes. Many patrons have enjoyed their meals here, often returning for the consistently high-quality dishes. Visitors rave about the delicious flavors and generous portion sizes, ensuring no food goes to waste.
Staying at my girlfriends in Bacup and we ordered a takeaway. This is her Chinese of choice but my first experience of it. Really enjoyed it. Food was very nice!
Alex B — Google review
Highly popular local takeaway which has always served good quality Chinese food in a variety of styles. We have used them for a good number of years and have never been disappointed.
Jez S — Google review
I've been a long-time customer of Happy Valley and have always enjoyed their food—until today. This order was incredibly disappointing. The chips were clearly from yesterday, reheated in oil and left limp and greasy. The salt and pepper chicken wings were dry and tough, with the unmistakable texture of reheated leftovers. Even the duck in hot and spicy sauce was far too salty, completely overpowering the flavour. I also took photos of the meal, which clearly show the poor quality. It’s frustrating to receive food that feels like it was thrown together without care—especially from a place I used to trust. I hope this was a one-off mistake, but it’s made me rethink ordering again.
Olga B — Google review
Gone massively down in 6 weeks. Portions tiny, no onions and peppers on salt and pepper chips, salt & pepper chicken half the size it was 6 weeks ago. They're even using smaller trays. Only accepts cash so obviously doesn't pay the correct tax by underdeclaring, and the dishes are getting progressively worse and smaller. A sly and evil way of doing business.
Eamon G — Google review
Just had an order, it cost £6.50 delivery charge for 0.9 miles and the food was freezing cold, when l rang to say it was cold and about the delivery charge they were very rude and put the phone down on me. Will never use them again. Disgusting behaviour.
Tracy T — Google review
Really good food. Very tasty. Not had a long wait. Would recommend you try. Normal size portions so food is not wasted. Will use again

Cold and stale food that was definitely from the day before. Couldn’t even bite in to the chicken and the beef absolutely stank… we actually ordered pork but was given rotten old beef. Also waited an hour and half

Very nice burger was very juicy and tasted delicious, staff very friendly, big selection of burgers on menu, only two things i didn't like was that it was a bit oily as seen on the picture, and price is quite expensive, but none the less i will be back in future, i will come try the stacker burger. Purchased 2 curries, both were different, unfortunately we both found our curries to be extremely sweet & cheap tasting, plastic tray not filled fully & was very shy with the meat, chapattis came in plastic bags so turned soggy. Sorry not for us.

Recently taken over from Spice Master. Ordered a large amount of a wide range of dishes for a family get together, food was excellent. Particularly liked the Shashlick and Chicken tikka. All dishes were great. Delivery was timely considering the amount of food ordered and a complimentary bottle of pop thrown in too.

Would like to thank your team for an amazing meal tonight, my chicken tikka buna garlic was the best I've ever had, also my other half had a Donna kabab and also this was amazing, nice and slim slices and not greasy at all. Definitely recommend for superb curry and amazing Donna kabab thanks again we'll be back ❤️
Michelle J — Google review
As others have said, this place has gone downhill sharply over the last few months. Food is watery, bland and bulked out with what appears to be blended vegetables instead of Keema to thicken the sauce (Shahee). Been going here for 10 years at least, not any more. If new owners can't be bothered then neither can we. This is a small town, not the curry mile, lose customers here and you won't get new ones!
Lee O — Google review
Since the new owners have took over the place the food is so much better. Better quality better taste. I would recommend going again to anybody. It really is worth the money and it is slightly cheaper which is a winner. If there is something not right with there food they are happy to help and do it efficiently and get it rectify quickly really nice people to.

Good food Good food. Good drinks selection plus cocktails and buzzy place to be. Just been in for Breakfast to celebrate my friend Barbara's Birthday. What a lovely fuss they made of her. A very pleasant place to spend a few hours, open all day for coffee, tea, and cake, or a lovely meal, served all day, it's open through to the evening 7 days per week, Dog's are welcomed and are offered a bowl of water and a Pat from very pleasant helpful staff. There are sometimes live singer's performing, I've spent a very pleasant hour or too on a Sunday afternoon with a cappuccino, a scone jam and butter, or a glass of wine, with my little dog, listening to the entertainment.

This gem is celebrated for its generous portion sizes and mouthwatering flavors that truly stand out in the area. While they don’t offer delivery, which could be a missed opportunity for local food lovers, the takeaway service more than makes up for it with an impressive menu filled with freshly prepared dishes. Brilliant takeaway! The chips are superb, great size portions. We love the OK sauce and the choice of chinese dishes. 👌

Looking at the last review 7 months ago, what went wrong ? Awful food. barely warm and what they called "spare ribs" bore no resemblance whatever to actual spare ribs. They over charged my daughter because they couldn't be bothered to update their 3 years out of date website. I will not be recommending you to anyone!
Carol S — Google review
Amazing Chinese. Love the tofu dishes - they will do them with any of the sauces. The veg and noodles and everything else is amazing too. Plus really good chippy chips!
Emma C — Google review
Not had a bad meal from here yet. Reasonably priced for the size of the portions and best tasting Chinese in the area. Such a shame they don't do delivery - anyone offering Chinese food delivered in Rawtenstall is set to make some serious money! Service is great too :) Recommend the gravy, the wings, crispy shredded chicken or beef, and Singapore noodles. 👍

Good Chinese, vermacelli noodles very good, foo Yung too. Salt n pepper chicken a little dry and crispy, probably go for the chicken breast version next
Carl B — Google review
Bought a special chow mein and other items tonight. Not so sure what was special about the chow mein though! Very small portion of meat and noodles and no prawns to speak of?! Chips were tasty but almost £10 for what we got was very overpriced and we won't be going back.

Easily the best Chinese takeaway in Rawtenstall, if not Rossendale. All freshly prepared and tastes great. Some of the other Chinese takeaways I've tried in the local area just taste bland. Solid menu choices.

Absolutely delicious food, really lovely staff. We’d been on a long walk earlier in the day so by the time teatime came round we were ravenous!
