Breakfast restaurant
Crows Nest Beefeater is a delightful pub-style chain that specializes in grilled meats and international favorites, including mouthwatering fajitas. Their 10oz ribeye steaks are particularly noteworthy, aged for at least 30 days to ensure maximum flavor and served alongside chunky triple-cooked chips, crispy flat mushrooms, juicy grilled tomatoes, and peppercorn sauce.
Had breakfast here this morning and was helped by Andrew. So cheery and very accommodating. Was nice to be served and helped by such a friendly person! Andrew is a great face for the restaurant:) Chef even accommodated my request for just bean juice no beans, food was fabulous.

I had a wonderful breakfast here. The food was great and plentiful but most of all the staff were fantastic

Went for dinner Sunday afternoon with my husband and children, had a great server called Beverl B (name on receipt) food was great, hot, quick service. Had amazing cocktails, 2-4-1 worth the price. Very patient with my children bore easily. Had a great meal all in all x
Kelly J — Google review
Before I start, our waitress, Gemma, was delightful but some of the other things I saw whilst we were at The Crow's Nest have prompted me to leave this review 1. I asked to sit somewhere warm as it was a cool evening and this was acknowledged but then ignored by the chap who seated us. Subsequently another party asked to not sit where this chap intended them to sit and were told they 'had' to sit there. For context the restaurant was not full. They requested a booth on the upper level and were told no, the booth remained empty all the time we were in the restaurant. Eventually they were offered a different table, but not the one that they wanted 2. The same chap was dismissive of nearly every group of customers that arrived. Managed to look continually busy but do very little. The table behind us needed clearing when we arrived at 7pm, it was eventually cleared at 7:45pm. He was not in the same uniform as the other waiting staff, could he be the manager? Again for context, the restaurant was not busy. 3. This one's on me as I didn't address it when I was there but the steak itself was really disappointing. The house salad was 80% lettuce and the chips were cold, and almost definitely not triple cooked We had been tempted back in by a 40% off mains offer, but left very disappointed. This used to be somewhere you could go for good food that wasn't hugely expensive, but it's really been let down by being poorly maintained over time and standards, particularly around the quality of the meat and the presentation of food have slipped
Liz A — Google review
Had steak myself and my friend, normally complain but the steak was thin for rump but cooked well and was nice. We were served by Nathan who is always so polite and lovely to his customers. Service was super quick too.
Tinkerbell D — Google review
The food was good, as you would expect with Beefeater. However, the customer service from walking in through to paying and leaving wasn't great. One member of staff in particular was very gruff. The service was very slow. To be fair, the restaurant was busy and there were only 3 visible members of wait staff, so that's probably the reason. But on a Friday lunchtime, you would expect it to be busy and have the staff cover to manage this. The bill at the end of the meal was incorrect, but was very politely amended when we pointed this out. Don't forget to register your car number plate on arrival, there are a couple of screens inside for you to do this. I would come back here, there are beautiful gardens to look out on at the back of the restaurant. But, and this is for me personally, I'd just avoid going on a Friday
Letty M — Google review
Have eaten at many Beefeaters over the years, a regular customer. However 3 of the last 5 since 2024, across several locations in southern England have served up very poor fillet steaks. The one here was the culmination, one third of it was inedible.Whilst they did compensate us we would rather have a better meal than £'s offf. Fillets should melt in your mouth, that is what you pay the extra for. Come on Beefeater change your supplier back, it wasn't always this way!
Artful A — Google review
Had a really lovely meal here this evening! I had the beef burger and loaded chips and my husband had the mixed grill and couldn't fault it! Nathan our waiter was fab and very polite! We will be back! Thank you

Nestled in the heart of Tring, The Akeman is a stylish gastropub that effortlessly combines modern British cuisine with a cozy atmosphere. With its exposed brick walls, inviting armchairs, and a stunning open fire, it’s an ideal retreat regardless of the season. Guests can enjoy delightful dishes ranging from pizzas and pastas to comforting vegan options. The pub also features a charming courtyard for outdoor dining.
Popped into here on a Saturday afternoon for a spot of lunch. We had no reservation, but they were able to find space and seat us quickly. The menu has good options for being healthy and bar staples. We had a garlic bread with mozzarella cheese to start; super delicious!

Enjoyed my visit. The food and service were exceptional. My roast was plated beautifully and tasted great. Service time was just right and the mango spicy margarita was one of the best margaritas I’ve had!
Shafanaz — Google review
We really enjoyed our time at The Akeman. We were a bit early for our booking but they kindly prepped a table anyway. The food was delicious - especially the starters. The pizza oven went down very well with the children. Would definitely come back. Thank you for looking after us so well.

I'm not one to spend time on reviews, but my recent experience warrants the recognition of high quality food and exceptional service. My wife, myself and my 3 kids arrived into town late, and we were quickly trying to feed the family before the town closed up. It was 945pm, everyone was hungry and tired and most kitchens were closing. Despite staff already prepping the close of the kitchen, Tim, the amazing manager reassured us he would see what he could do. I was aware that kitchen staff would likely need to continue closing. All the staff were so kind and considerate. The food was amazing. Tim was on-point with his customer service, and the other staff took time to come over and chat. It was a really uplifting experience. I can't say enough about how pleased we were. Thank you again, Tim!

Kai our waitress was absolutely fantastic. She couldn’t have been more helpful. We were a big group with kids and she was patient and kind the whole way through. Thank you! Also a huge thanks to Timothy for his quick responses during the booking stages- we had never been to the akeman before and decided on the venue based on how friendly and accommodating Timothy was in his first email response to my inquiry! He was also a point of contact throughout the meal- very professional. We will be back in the future!

An outstanding dinner at the akeman! Thank you to Peter our waiter who gave us a warm welcome and was so kind and helpful! The chefs too who still took our order at gone 9pm, very kind of them and the food was everything and more! We were staying at champneys and needed dinner so this was a very impromptu meal and I’m so glad we chose to go here, the food recommendations, menu, service, atmosphere, the food itself, wow! 10-10. Highly recommend 🤤 Thank you! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My husband and I stopped in, we're both vegan and we're absolutely not disappointed by the vegan options! Great food and atmosphere. And our server Georgie was so sweet and helpful. Thanks for the great meal!

We had a lovely meal at The Akeman. Despite being told there would be a 45min + wait for food. Our food arrived in good time and was delicious. Steak was perfectly cooked and service was fab ! Recommend!

Brunch restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Tring, Black Goo Coffee is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a delightful culinary experience. This award-winning café offers an impressive Afternoon Tea that features everything from hearty sausage rolls to delectable scones topped with clotted cream and jam. Guests can indulge in unlimited beverages, including tea and even prosecco! For breakfast lovers, their Full Goo—an enticing twist on the classic English breakfast—is not to be missed.
I was driving through Tring and craved coffee and a (gluten free) treat. I googled what was in the area, and was intrigued by the name 'Black Goo'. Call me wacky, call me weird, but I kind of liked it. Well, am I glad that my humour is busted, because I was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of gluten free options available. The options were also what I'd describe as 'top-tier' gluten free - cakes, bakes, and chunky loaves! I got two slices of cake (look how chunky!) and a brownie. The fact there were a few cakes from which I could choose was such a joy. The barista was also amazing, and allowed me to sample a small slice of each to help me decide. They were so good, I got two. (I did end up finishing both slices in one sitting - I don't recommend this, but I have no regrets). I was vey appreciative of the care and attention given to my gluten sensitivity. The baristas all seemed very knowledgeable, and did detail what I could/ couldn't eat in regards to cross contamination. I didn't order any 'savoury' brunch, but there were a lot of options available on the menu I'd be interested to try another time. The coffee is also delicious, and well made. All in all - just goo to goo!
Sarah F — Google review
I took my other half here for her birthday on her recommendation. Was very pleased with the service and food and hope to return! I booked an afternoon tea here and everything is homemade. The amazing sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones, coffee and even the orange juice. It’s freshly squeezed behind the bar in a juicer! Good sized portions served here, had to take a few bits home. Absolutely mindblowing coffee. One of the best cups I’ve had and I don’t say that lightly. Had to have a few! Service was impeccable. We were seated quickly, the food was all ready and prepared that morning and check backs were frequent for drink refills, packing to take food home etc. All in all, a great place to have a coffee, cake and maybe even afternoon tea like us.
James R — Google review
This place has an amazing selection of cakes and pastries. The carrot cake and sausage roll we had were both top notch, as was their latte coffee. Nice decor and ambience and outside seating too.
Martin R — Google review
Such a great place, so glad we found it. The food is absolutely delicious. We had shrooms on toast and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Just perfect. Beautifully presented and so tasty. The bread for the toast was lovely too. Hot chocolate was creamy and delicious. Staff were great. Table service, a few tables outside on the pavement as well. Quirky decor inside. A couple of parking places on the road outside and just a short walk from a larger car park. Popular place and we could definitely see why. Thank you.
Louise — Google review
I expected amazing. I had average. Food was average. Salmon had an odour and I wasn’t sure if I should trust it. Coffee was average and they charged an extra £.50 for decaf. Decaf. They charged £.50 for oat milk which is old fashioned, but expected.
Lisa A — Google review
Me and my partner really enjoyed eating here yesterday,we came after walking up and down the high street trying to pick somewhere to eat, the food was amazing, space was a little limited but in there defence we did have our (large) pushchair with us that was a little awkward to find space for but nothing that stopped the experience being enjoyable! Definitely would go back
Kitty K — Google review
Friendly service, great food, amazing cakes.

A really nice place for brunch of afternoon tea. It can get busy so definitely worth booking in advance as it's a fairly small place. Staff are really friendly, food tastes great and if your looking for a slice of cake, you'll be happy with the size of them! Came for a birthday vegetarian afternoon tea and really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back again soon.

Pub
The Kings Arms is a traditional family-run pub located in the heart of the Tring Triangle. It's a popular spot known for its British fare, including freshly prepared food to cater to various dietary requirements. The tavern offers a wide selection of real ales, ciders, and lagers in a cosy setting with a brick-walled courtyard featuring heated parasols.
I was a very big fan of this pub that we visited for one evening. We played a couple of games of Monopoly deal while we ate three small plates for £20. Not a bad price! The food was delicious, and, it having bee served in the beautiful sunlight on a garden table, was perfect and exactly what we needed. If I come back to Tring, I’ll come back to The King’s Arms.
Brendan C — Google review
Sunday dinner choices of lamb, beef, chicken, pork and nut roast. Great Yorkshires, plenty of gravy and, although extra cost, the cauliflower cheese was delicious. And the sticky toffee pudding scored 9.5/10 on my very strict scoring chart. Very friendly and attentive staff. Atmosphere marked down due to a very happy dog and a whinging child.
Helen C — Google review
It was so great that we visited twice on a canal boat vacation on the Grand Union Canal - food was like proper home cooking, you can't get better. Hosts were brilliant especially Jane and Derek - very welcoming and went above and beyond, including showing us their distillery. Cannot recommend highly enough - a lovely neighbourhood pub.
Jessica F — Google review
A lovely pub with great beer and food. We ordered the special prawn spaghetti and steak and ale pie, was absolutely delightful. Highly recommend.
Phai D — Google review
Went for the 1st time in search of a nice pub dinner with a good atmosphere. The atmosphere was lively for an early Friday evening. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional, quality ingredients and great value for money. We had the 3 for £20 starter and when you don't need to add seasoning to your food you know its good! For dessert we were well impressed with the walnut and pecan tart!
Deanne F — Google review
Lovely pub, small interior where on weekend all seemed to be reserved but if dry can sit outside which we did. The roast sandwiches were absolutely cracking, recommend the chicken for sure, dipping in the gravy was the perfect combo!
S. G — Google review
This is an old style pub, I could feel like at home. Very nice waiters, probably the owners of the place! Very good food, they add something different in each plate, far from the normality of the chain pubs.

Coffee shop
Coffee roasters
Nestled in the charming market town of Tring, The Espresso Lounge Ltd is a delightful independent coffee shop run by a passionate husband and wife duo. This cozy spot is renowned for its exceptional organic coffee, which has received accolades from the Specialty Coffee Association. Clare, one of the owners, curates a seasonal menu that features delicious food and mouthwatering cakes that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Bought a take away coffee from Espresso lounge on a whim and didn’t regret it. It was the smoothest coffee I have tasted. The owners have so much knowledge and passion when talking about coffee, they really took their time with me. I bought a bag of coffee beans to go with it, and I can’t wait to treat my family to a Costa Rican fruity blend. Great experience!
Tim M — Google review
This cafe is not good enough to deserve such a high rating. The atmosphere is nice, but if your coffee and desserts aren’t good, the atmosphere doesn’t mean much. The cake was very dry, and I had difficulty eating it. However, the coffee service was even more bothersome. We were served two coffees, and both had different aromas and colors. I asked why, and they said, ‘This is a different bean.’ I’ve never heard such a ridiculous answer; it’s already obvious that they’re different when you taste them. Then they ask, ‘Would you like us to change it?’ We only ordered two Americanos, and they failed.
Turgay Ö — Google review
What a great coffee shop. To put this into context, on the same high street is a nice looking Costa Coffee which was EMPTY and this place had seats inside, outside and a queue of people. The coffee was beautiful (no bitterness, beautiful unique flavour), the pastries were lovely and with plenty of choice, and the place was absolutely immaculate. The staff are really attentive but not pushy and the chap (who i assume is the owner) was clearly very passionate about what he does and what he serves (he was keen to show that he roasts his own beans). If you like good coffee, and like nice, modern comfortable surroundings, with a decent choice of light food, given with great service you should come here. If you don't like the idea of this place, there may be something wrong with you...
Gareth C — Google review
Nice little break in the morning at this coffee shop - You see lots of regulars come through! The service was impeccable, everyone is so friendly. The oats were really yummy, couldn’t recommend enough. 4 stars since it was cold at times and had it been under control, it would have made it a perfect experience!
William B — Google review
I have been visiting The Espresso Lounge for about a month now and I find the service, coffee and food fantastic. It's lovely to talk about coffee with the barista and they really seem to take personal interest. Delicious flat whites and I struggle to not to buy a cake whenever I visit!
Tom H — Google review
We absolutely love this place. The service is always great. The staff know loads about coffee and are super friendly. The coffee here is great. They are also dog friendly with vegan options. There is some outdoor seating.
Charlotte H — Google review
The building was lovely but for me personally I found the coffee was very expensive as the cup size very small, and then on top of that the flat white was half froth so I ended up with just a couple of mouthfuls of coffee. The building and staff were lovely. My son enjoyed his carrot cake but I wont be opting to go here again
Charlotte C — Google review
Staff were really lovely and talkative. The bakery was nice and the hot chocolate was nice! Defo will come back for the good vibes and energy. Place is bigger than you expect with more seating round the back.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Tring, look no further than Storia Tring. This charming Italian restaurant has garnered rave reviews from locals and visitors alike, thanks to its delectable cuisine and warm atmosphere. Diners have praised the fast and friendly service that complements an impressive menu featuring everything from tantalizing starters to mouthwatering desserts like chocolate cannoli.
6 of us went here on a Saturday late afternoon for a Birthday celebration. We did pre book, but being the summer holidays it was fairly quiet. We had a table in the court yard, food was AMAZING, service was very good and it was generally a super nice few hours spent in a lovely restaurant. Would recommend and cant wait to return.

Lovely lunch here. Tasty looking menu from starters through to desserts. I had the sea bass ceviche (delicious!), followed by the gorgonzola and nduja pizza, which was also delicious. Tiramisu was also lovely, but needs to served in a nice bowl or on a nice plate rather than a jar 🤷🏻😊. Definitely worth a visit, as good as excellent and staff are very attentive.

Food and service 5/5 Table location 2/5 This is a really wonderful place to eat, with good quality options and great service. We came in for a birthday lunch and had a really great experience. I took a star off because our table backed onto a large window, and halfway through the meal the sun came out quite intensely and created a greenhouse effect for myself and my husband, with our backs to the window. There was no blind to give us any shade and at that point the restaurant was full so we couldn't move. I'm sure this isn't the first time this has been an issue, so installing some blind or other solution would be ideal!

What I like about Storia is their consistency. Whenever we come we know the food will be top notch, service friendly, and atmosphere easy going. Top Tip #1: Come at 5pm on a Sunday or BH Monday for a chilled meal. Top Tip #2: Try a limoncello spritz... 50ml limoncello topped up with equal measure of prosecco and soda. The team behind the bar does it perfectly 🥰 Edit 25/8/25: Our fave dish at the moment is the Butterflied Sea Bass, OMG it's heaven!

The Robin Hood in Tring is a charming 17th-century pub located on the outskirts of the town center. It welcomes both visitors and their furry friends, offering a cozy atmosphere with log burning stoves and low ceilings. Guests praise the warm hospitality, delicious food, and friendly locals. The pub's conservatory and garden provide a lovely setting to enjoy real ales and simple bar food.
Lovely pub in Tring, I cycled from London, down the Grand union canel. A nice pint was perfect to finish the ride off. Such a nice welcoming atmosphere and lovely people. I would recommend to anyone who is around this area. 👍

Very good Fullers pub with great service, decent food and a range of well-kept cask ales. The ESB was superb, and went well with the small fish & chips- which was plenty big enough for me. Cheers! 🍻

How a pub should be! Popped in for lunch at 12pm August 10th and ordered drinks and lunch. My wife had the ham egg and chips whilst I had the steak pudding with mash and vegetables.... Proper homemade food, large portions and very enjoyable. Atmosphere was lovely, nice to see a local where people were playing cards and chatting. The bar lady was magnificent and a huge credit. Will return.

Felt very old timey, homey and so historic! Only popped in for a quick drink! The outside patio was done up realy nice and I sent pictures of it back home for my mother! 12/10 will go back with the husband!

Proper friendly pub, nice punters, dog friendly (four in at lunch time I think) popular landlord, great pint of Seafarers...... And the ham egg and chips is worth the trip. Best I've had. When they say hand carved they mean hand carved. 1/2 an inch thick at one end! Excellent. Thank you.

Just had an amazing lunch. I had lamb chops new pots carrots and green beans in an awesome gravy and the wife had a huge goats cheese and walnut salad. What can I say apart from go and try it yourself. Great portions and very friendly staff with a great choice of ales and lagers. I am stuffed. Had to eat some of the wife’s as she could not finish it.

This is a wonderful place for coffee break or meal enjoyment. My family had enjoyed our first experience in Barracuda Tring when we were Tring on Sunday night. The foods that we ordered were Salmon Salad, Salmon Steak and Ribeye steak. They were all very delicious with good smell and well balanced in colors. The services were excellent and the owner was so friendly that the atmosphere was amazing. There was a family party celebrating grand father's birthday then. We fully enjoyed eating there and would certainly visit it again.

Well deserved 5 star rating! Staff gave a fantastic service from calling us back to offer a cancellation space to giving a cheeky slice of birthday tiramasu cake! The food was exceptional, house red was lovely, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. All in all a great little gem of a place in Tring that I will definitely be returning to!

This spacious location boasts both indoor seating and outdoor options for those who prefer to enjoy their drinks al fresco. Costa coffee on the main high street of Tring is conveniently located in the town centre near to ample parking in 3 main car parks and other areas with 1 hour free parking. Plenty of time for a drink, snack and shopping. The café is reasonably large and has some outside seating. Alternatively there are plenty of other places in the local area for a take-out such as the park or by the natural history museum. The café has all the usual selections and service is reasonably fast. There is a small area at the back of the shop to sit outside.

Convenient and welcoming as always. Nice environment. Unfortunately, minimal Gluten free options - only crisps and pricey biscuits - nothing for lunch.

Popped in on route to the zoo. Disabled loo was in need of a deep clean. Staff were nice, seamed shocked i wanted to use my own cup (double beans) Drinks made well and were delicious ! I was happy they were open so we could have a SEND morning in the natural history museum. Beautiful area to explore.

Appalling service today, daughter was told she could select any treats from certain section behind counter to get the 2for£4 gift she had, she was then charged £10 for the 2 cakes and small hot chocolate when she questioned it apparently one of the cakes picked didn’t count despite her picking from the section she was told to by staff. What absolute an absolute rip off and joke

Lovely place to while away time. The staff are really friendly. Coffee is exactly as expected from Costa. Only issue is the WiFi would only let me see Google and the mobile coverage is poor.

Been in here once or twice before, not bad for a Costa in the high street!

Lovely Costa in the high Street, staff were very welcoming and polite, place was clean and tidy, quick service, great coffee as always

The service was great, my drink was made very quickly, but the tables outside were frankly disgusting, there was a full ashtray on the table, which had not been cleaned. A staff member was also crouched down near my table smoking for about 10 minutes. Overall, not one of the best Costa's I have been to.

Tring Brewery Co. is a renowned real ale brewery that offers both long and short tours, some of which include a fish and chip supper. The brewery also has a shop where visitors can purchase their award-winning ales. Additionally, the area around the brewery offers other attractions such as Frithsden Vineyard, Frogmore Paper Mill, and Tring Market Auctions. Visitors can enjoy tastings at the well-stocked shop with helpful staff and reasonable prices.
Some of the best brews I’ve ever had come from Tring. Always excited when side pocket is on tap down my local. I’ve ordered two kegs from these guys. One of Fanny Ebbs and the other being Ridgeway. Always dispatched same day, arrive the next day and their customer support is fantastic when I’ve emailed and called for a query. Will always call upon them again when we need a keg or two for a party. 🎈

It was an amazing brewery tour and a big thank you to Jared for a very most informative talk. I've been on other brewery tours and still had a lot to learn on this one. Five star tour and of course an excellent choice of beers.

Tring brewery are a great brewer of ales (Sidepocket fora Toad is pribabky their best known beer. The brewery shop is a great place to visit if you want to get some fresh cask beer. When we visited, they had 9 different options, which you can purchase from 1L to 40L. They have a couple of self pour pumps to try some of the beer yourself, plus you can ask to try others before you buy. They have a great range of bottles in the shop as well, plus some ther mech and other items - I'd especially recommend the hot sauce (which is a colab with Grim Reaper foods). These plenty of parking outside the brewery.

A small craft brewery on Dunsley Farm that has been producing real ale since 1992. They have a good selection of interesting ales that have a great flavour and body. You can walk over from the Tesco just opposite if you are just picking up a variety six pack or drive up and park to collect larger orders. They are always most accommodating as you would expect from an independent. Outside of covid restrictions they hold tours of the brewing facility of a variety of lengths some including a fish and chip supper. Recommended.

We were a family group of 5. The tour was good and very interesting. On the tour you are given samples to try. The tour lasted about 1 hour 20. When the tour ends you go through the shop, and you can try samples before you buy. Lovely afternoon, We will be back. The parking here is good. There is a farm shop, antiques and gym around the car park. Definitely recommend.

Pheriwala is a gem nestled in Tring, renowned for its authentic street food that showcases the rich culinary traditions of Chennai and Kerala. Diners rave about the delightful flavors and expertly prepared dishes that transport them straight to India. The friendly staff enhances the experience with their knowledge and attentiveness, creating a relaxed atmosphere perfect for family meals or casual dining. Many patrons travel considerable distances just to enjoy Pheriwala's offerings, highlighting its reputation as one of the best Indian restaurants around.
We booked the night before for a Sunday evening table. We’re glad we did because it was super busy. The food was delightfully tasty with large cuts of lamb within the curry; simply delicious! Great attentive service with reasonably priced dishes.

Visiting Tring for a holiday and found this gem of a place. Me and my family of five enjoyed every starter and main we had and the service was brilliant as well. I really appreciated the menu setup, all dishes had their allergens clearly marked, something you don't usually see in Indian restaurants. Lots of vegan dishes as well. I highly recommend this place.
Julekha B — Google review
Pains me to leave this bad review because the food was lovely and for the most part the service was good. We attended last night, the first interaction was with someone who asked if we wanted popadoms and took our drinks order. A younger lad with eye brow slits (says it all). He was rude, arrogant and generally just not pleasant to deal with. Every else was lovely, if I’m paying for a service I expect the server to be polite. We did leave a tip because everyone else was lovely. But I won’t go again just because of one bad person.

I can not recommend this restaurant enough. The service and professionalism were excellent and exactly what I would expect from a restaurant. We ordered upon recommendation, and we enjoyed the meals and look forward to our next trip already. The atmosphere is relaxing, and we tried interesting dishes. Most items are halal.

We love Pheriwala. We have been a few times now, each time travelling 200 miles from York. (Well, OK, our son lives near Tring). But we make a point of having a family meal here. It's authentic 'street food', lovely Chennai and Kerala specialities, perfectly prepared, well-balanced and subtle flavours. The staff are all knowledgeable and helpful, the atmosphere relaxed and informal. We unreservedly recommend Pheriwala for your next Indian, anywhere within a 200 mile radius.

Really excellent find, hidden in plain sight! Slightly obscure entrance leads to a bright airy well laid out restaurant. Buzzy but not loud. Truly excellent food and a much wider choice of genuine Indian dishes than at your trad ‘curry house’. Dhosas, yum! Nice waiters, reasonable prices. Try it!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, friendly staff, great tasting food and a lovely alternative to what we have in Tring. This is a great new restaurant that has taken over from what was formally the Jabraj. Some beautiful platter dishes and some lovely food with something a little different to normal. Well worth a visit to see Naz and the team. Definitely recommend.

As a local to Tring , we are very very lucky to have this quality of restaurant , I used to have to travel 45 minutes to find decent Indian food and Pheriwala is of the standard you would get in Southall , when you add the top class service and the fact the quality of the food is consistent this is one of the best restaurants in the town. I would also highly recommend eating in the restaurant.

During a delightful weekend escape to Tring, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon P.A.M.S, and it quickly became our go-to spot for lunch. The moment we took our first bite of their panini, we knew we'd be making the journey back just for another taste! The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were simply out of this world—definitely worth every penny. With fantastic sandwiches and a warm atmosphere created by the friendly staff, P.A.M.
The best sandwiches around easily. Very friendly staff and amazing food. #loveapams

This morning I was in Tring and instead of having coffee with morning pastry somewhere else I decided to give it a go and to try a vegetarian English breakfast served in a box. The other option was to have it in a baguette. This morning was coldish and grey. The cafe has only very basic outside sitting facing a driveway. The box came, when I open it I saw a mix of one runny egg on top and under it a sloshy mix of sliced fried tomato rings, tinned beans, sliced mushrooms and a few hash browns. No slices of toast/bread roll, no halloumi cheese to substitute bacon and meat sausages were offered. My breakfast box was mean and miserable to look at and to consume. I left most of it untouched. While I was waiting for my box-breakfast, Deliveroo female driver came to collect orders. Suddenly the handles of a paper shopping bag in her hands broke off and the whole content/the food/breakfast baguette felt on the floor right in front of me. Everyone behind the counter and in the kitchen was giggling about it. The delivery woman was laughing and took her time to pick up from the floor the food wrapped into a flimsy papers and to place it into a new brown shopping paper bag. I glanced at the front door, 5 Stars Hygiene Rating Certificate-sticker was decorating it. What a laugh indeed.

My boyfriend and I live in Bedfordshire and we had traveled to tring for a little weekend getaway, upon leaving the area we chose to purchase from P.A.M.S for our lunch. We most certainly will be travelling to and from Tring just for P.A.M.S in the future despite the journey. The best panini I have ever eaten, amazing portion size and absolutely delicious, definitely worth the price. We throughly enjoyed our food and the staff member who took our order at the counter was lovely, even complimenting my lashes and was just super friendly. I am a massive fan of this establishment and wish you all the best for the future, see you again soon! ❤️

If you're in Tring and craving some delicious Indian cuisine, look no further than Bhujon. This charming eatery has been a local favorite for over 15 years, evolving from its previous incarnation as the Tring Tandoori. Known for its flavorful dishes and prompt service, Bhujon offers an array of mouthwatering options that are freshly prepared upon order. Customers rave about the generous portions and the delightful mix of spices that make each meal memorable.

The best Indian takeaway I had in a long time the food tastes amazing. Worth every penny
Irene S — Google review
This is probably one of the best Indian takeaways in Tring, and I've been coming here on & off for over 15 years, back when it used to be the Tring Tandoori. Anyone else remember that? It seems to have gone through quite a few ups & downs in terms of their food quality & service over that time. In the early days of the Bhujon, it was not uncommon for our order to be messed up (in fairness, they did always apologize, and try to rectify, but very inconvenient) or for some of our meals to resemble an oill slick, not nice. In the end I decided enough was enough, and gave it a miss for a few years, then a new menu leaflet arrived, and I decided to give it a try last year, and it's now a favourite of mine again. Thankfully, they seem to have got it together, the service is much better now (no messed up orders ..touch wood!), just as well as we usually order by phone. I'm not so convinced about the authenticity of the food, but it's certainly better quality now, and most of the time it's very good, and very tasty. The prices are a little cheaper than most, and they have several meal deals to choose from which are even better value, and 'sometimes' they'll even let you change an item! Order to collect times are very good, usually about 20-30 minutes. There are some inconsistencies with my favorite dishes sometimes, so perhaps they have different chefs, but that aside I think overall the Bhujon has definitely improved a lot. The staff are friendly, the service is quicker and more reliable, and food is good to very good. If you're in Tring, and fancy an Indian takeaway, give it a try.
Dave M — Google review
The food was incredibly dry and not nice at all. So disappointing when you're looking forward to a takeaway on a Saturday night. I spoke to the restaurant who promised they would drop me round a refund. They never did! I will be sticking to my usual Indian restaurant in future.

The restaurant has garnered praise for its excellent food, great prices, and outstanding service. While some guests have experienced longer wait times during busy periods, the overall dining experience is described as enjoyable. Visitors appreciate the family-run atmosphere and highly recommend trying the flavorful pizzas at this genuine Italian establishment.
My daughter wanted pizza and Da Vinci Restaurant is the place for a nice one. The pizza was a very good size and the price level is very decent. My wife just had a starter which was delicious .Drinks were good value for money- the gin&tonic I won’t comment on. Service was very friendly and fast. The Restaurant is not really the place to stay for a long time - it could do with a bit more ambience- but it certainly delivers in terms of food!

Very good garden centre. Great have a section selling shoes and clothes. The food in the restaurant is very good. The Tuesday roast smelt lovely and appeared very popular. We had the light bites which was great, 4oz gammon small portion of chips and a side salad. Very good selection on the menu. Breakfast items sounded great.

Decided to have breakfast in the restaurant. Staff were very helpful and food was good but whole experience was chaotic. Queuing to order, along with many others, then waiting for drinks seemed more like a canteen atmosphere rather than a restaurant. Didn’t help having a radio blaring when trying to order. There seemed to be ample staff to seat people at a table and take their order not have customers loitering with trays waiting to be served drinks. Shame really because everyone tried to be helpful but system was wrong.

The huge indoor restaurant is now open with plenty of spaced out seating. It is easily 8 times or more larger than the previous one and looks terrific. We went on a rainy day so it was ideal. There are plenty of bedding plants and lots of special offers on such as 3 packs of bedding for about £10 which is ideal for filling gaps in the flower beds or in pots. The car park was surprisingly busy for a rainy day but the shop did not appear crowded, however a lot of people were in the restaurant area - something to do on a rainy day.

I visited Tring Garden Centre yesterday to meet my cousins in the cafe for tea and coffee. This is probably my fourth visit. The garden centre is well kept, managed and there is a lot of choice. The cafe is clean and has very reasonable prices. There is also plenty of parking. They are all the positives. The negatives are the ladies toilets. They are disgusting. There are only two which is ridiculous for the number of people using the centre. A 40 seater coach arrived at the same time as I did. There is no need for a sign on the toilet door as you can smell them before you go through. The one I used had a big piece missing from the cistern, a very wet floor and toilet paper everywhere. I am really surprised that they have not been condemned by Health and Safety. You really need to do something to rectify this before people report you to the authorities.

Nestled a bit outside the charming town of Tring, Premier Inn Tring is a modern budget hotel that offers comfortable en suite rooms and an inviting on-site grill restaurant. Families will appreciate the children's play area, making it a great choice for those traveling with little ones. While the location may be slightly removed from Tring station, guests are rewarded with stunning views and a delightful breakfast experience. The hotel maintains basic yet tidy facilities, ensuring a pleasant stay without unnecessary frills.
This was the best premier inn we have stayed. The room was perfect - we had the premier plus room and it was worth it. Properly working air con that was quiet gave us really good sleep - I could prove it from my sleep score 🤣 Andrea from the reception was friendly and helpful!!! Wish we lived closer so we could stay there again.
Jessie S — Google review
Second time in a couple of weeks staying here for family celebrations and I have to say, we found our room to be really comfortable. We did try and book an accessible room for our 2nd stay but, when we found that the bed was smaller and much lower, the lady on reception was most helpful and moved us into the same room we'd had on our previous visit. The room was comfortable and clean. Big mugs for cups of tea and a sensible sized kettle - excellent! A window that opened to give us fresh air. The bed was VERY comfy, one of the most comfortable I've found on our travels. We always turn the duvet round 90 degrees and find they fit better that way. Nice products in the bathroom but I wish Premier Inn would replace the baths with walk in showers - it would make almost every room accessible. That's the only criticism of the room. The Crow's Nest Beefeater adjoining was good too. We had dinner there on our last visit, which was nice even if the staff were under pressure on a busy night. Breakfast both times very nice, freshly cooked brekky for hubby and plentiful continental for me with lots of choices of jams and spreads - always good to see Marmite in my book! Crumpets, muffins, croissants, pain au chocolate as well as toast. Lovely porridge, plenty of cereal choices, fresh fruit, yoghurt...everything you could want. Staff all very friendly on every visit - maybe look at an extra coffee machine for breakfast though as people were queueing for the only machine. I've no doubt we'll be back in the future with the family connection in the area now and we won't have any hesitation in re-booking.
Kay F — Google review
It was a good location and has a large eatery (Beefeater) next door with a reasonably priced hot breakfast and hot lunch/dinner options. Only downside is there are no lifts so I had to carry my heavy suitcase up the stairs and the staff saw me struggling but didn’t help.
Archana P — Google review
Great Premier Inn, it was quiet, nice food at the Beefeater next door and catered for our 2 day stay nicely. Some marks on the carpet bit generally clean and tidy. Staff were polite and accomodating.
Jonathan B — Google review
Receptionist when I arrived at 5.30pm was exceptionally cheerful, friendly and helpful, which really cheered me up after a stressful day at work. The receptionist in the morning was equally friendly and helpful! Room was a little cramped but in better condition than a lot of Premier Inn rooms I have stayed in. The Beefeater restaurant next door was also very good and was a welcome change from the same unchanging menu usually seen! Overall a good one night stay.
Adam ( — Google review
A bit outdated site but comfortable room and at a reasonable cost. It was ideally located for us to be near a family member who was terminally ill. Staff were all so friendly and the manager went the extra mile by leaving a very thoughtful gift and message for us having heard from us about the purpose of our stay. We ate at the beefeater pub next door (the crows nest) and can’t praise the staff and their manager enough for their prompt and friendly service. Such a lovely change nowadays. Food and menu was reasonable and everything we had was hot and well cooked. We would certainly stay again.
Sue G — Google review
I've stayed in dozens of Premier Inns thoughout the UK and the main thing about Premier Inn is you know what you are getting when you book and you generally get it, but this one is a little bit different. Most important thing here is to make sure you really enjoy the company of your wife/husband because you are never going to be more than 4 feet from each other in the room! This Premier Inn has the smallest rooms of any we've ever stayed in. We didn't bring our cat to check, but had we done so I think she'd have been a little scared of touching the walls during the swing. Very little space to walk around the bed, you have to shut the toilet door before you sit on the throne and as for the desk, well the bedside tables were bigger. On the plus side the car park is spacious and free, the restaurant next door is bigger than average (we did not eat there) and the location is quiet. It also had working a/c which we didn't need in August in the UK was we missed this year's two days of summer. I'd stay here again as we are generally in, sleep, shower and go but I would not want to stay here for more than a night, two at most or try and work from the room.
Robert C — Google review
I spent one night here and, much like a supermarket own-brand spaghetti, it was surprisingly decent for the price. At just £35 for the room, I felt like I’d bagged a bargain—but had I paid much more, I might have raised a disapproving eyebrow and made a passive-aggressive comment to the mirror. The room itself was on the "cosy" side. The desk was perfectly sized for a laptop, assuming your laptop has no friends like a keyboard, mouse mat, or even a cup of tea. That said, the bed was comfy, the room was clean, and nothing smelled weird—which, frankly, is all I ask when I'm just crashing for the night. My window view was a lovely stretch of... car park. But to be fair, the location is pretty handy if you're planning to escape quickly onto main roads and flee the area like a very polite bandit. In short: if you're after somewhere functional, clean, and affordable for one night, this place ticks the boxes—just maybe not the luxury ones.

The Black Horse Tring is a charming country pub located in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. It offers a nice selection of real ales and bitters, including the popular Death or Glory and cloudy IPA. The brewery shop features their own produce as well as curated third-party products. Visitors can also explore the interesting junk shop outside. The cozy inn is known for serving delicious food, with piping-hot meals like chicken and mushroom pie with mash, carrots, broccoli, and gravy.
I chose the Black Horse for my wife’s 50th surprise birthday party as they gave live music and we wanted our band to play. From start to finish they were superb, Sophia and Lori were extremely attentive, thoughtful and helpful through the planning and the event. The food and service they provided was outstanding as was the atmosphere in the pub on the day. Needless to say it was a fantastic event. Thank you Black Horse!

Found this understated pub in our travels but was happily surprised by the quality of food.. wasn’t expecting them to have such a good chef on board along with massive portion sizes! Defo give it a go 👍✔️

It was a lovely sunny Sunday and we had been to the Tring natural history museum (highly recommend) this pub is only a 10 mins walk and feels very local. The food was excellent (Sunday roasts) everything felt homemade and freshly cooked (but just heated up) and was the perfect size. The potatoes are definitely the star of the show! The kids roast was on the large size for a 6 year old (not a complaint just an fyi) with good meat quality and just as tasty as the adults. Good beer options including local Tring beer, softdrinks and ciders. Outside they have a good 10 or so large picnic tables and lots of space to run around. Prices are very reasonable, staff very friendly and would definitely recommend.

Lovely lunch at the Black horse today, great food and staff, my only tiny grumble was the music a little loud for lunchtime and couldn't hear my family! After I asked them to turn the music down they did, it made it much more enjoyable!

We held our daughters Christening reception here, and we were blown away! The effort & personalised service from Sophia, Jake & the team was just incredible, the food, the drinks, the face painting, everything was perfect, a 50 strong crowd including children all catered for & looked after so well. The spread that was laid on was delicious, varied and well priced. A well stocked bar with so much choice, very friendly & helpful staff, the garden area looks amazing, large, clean, secure and very child friendly, with plenty of seating, twinkling lights and lit up borders, this really is a lovely place for a celebration or for drinks/good food, the inside of the pub is equally as inviting, very handy large pay & display car park situated right next door to the pub, as well as their own smaller parking area. Very clean toilets. Highly recommend!

Delicious food!!! We were driving through UK, stopped at Tring looking for various nearly closing places to eat around 2pm. I found The Black Horse on google and phoned up and they said they were open. What a great surprise! Just off the main street, with a parking next to it. Very clean and cosy. They were very nice to us and served us a piping-hot incredible meal. My choice was a chicken and mushroom pie and it came with mash, carrots and broccoli on the side, and gravy. It was really good. One of our daughters is vegetarian and there were plenty of options for her too (in eg. Quorn). It was just what we needed!

The Oak Restaurant offers a nicely presented breakfast with courteous staff and a classy ambience in a beautiful location. The "hots" choice complements the "cold" buffet, and there's self-serve tea and coffee. While some options like espresso-based drinks and porridge are not available, the place is well-liked and has outstanding room refurbishment.
We had a superb lunch in this impressive building. Our starters of scallops and of fishcakes were delicious. Our mains of gnocchi and pork belly were similarly skilfully done. Service was perfectly balanced between friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable lunch.

What a disapointment! We had a booking for one night at the hotel and decided to try the restaurant. It seeing during the festif period we had no choice to go with the christmas menú. 42.5 pounds for 2 dishes.. and what a disaster in quality: goat cheese salade was dry, beef was actually a meat blend, cod was dry... only good point was the wine. Paying 130 pounds feeling still hungry and disappointed Is a shame. To avoid!!

I ate the chicken burger in the Shakespeare Bar. One word comes to mind (see photo)..... underwhelming. Don't get me wrong - it was tasty. But just sad and cheap looking. Not worth the £15.50 charge. Main bar was full (mostly corporate group) so sat in side room. Chairs were then gradually removed by corporates for their gang so room was left almost empty of furniture. Not great! A disappointing dinner.

Nicely presented breakfast, courteous staff, classy ambience. Beautiful location. This was my 'hots' choice which accompanies the 'cold' buffet. Tea and coffee on self serve tap. Anything espresso based not on offer, even at extra cost, porridge not available, and 'supermarket' toast loses one star. But I really like this place and want it to do well in the post covid rebuild. Room refurbishment is outstanding and beautiful. It totally deserves to be successful. (Buy some sourdough?)

We came for a family meal on the 10th Dec 2023 our table was booked for 1:30 pm and we were a party of 8, when we arrived. We were the only ones in the restaurant but we had to wait 45 minutes to get our drinks then once we ordered our food we had to wait another 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did arrive, not only was it cold, it was also impossible to get your knife through any of the vegetables we asked to see the Manager and was told that they had another party of 70 people in another room and apologised. This was not satisfactory. The food was taken back popped in the microwave brought back and still we couldn’t eat it, In the end, we just walked out. Luckily the Akeman in Tring were able to accommodate us but I was so disappointed and upset, it totally spoilt my day with my Family Mrs Knight

They have a ridiculous policy of not allowong men to wear (smart) shorts even on boiling hot days. Top tip if you're staying at Pendley Manor: skip the average food, rip off prices and weird atmosphere here and drive 10 mins to the nice restaurants of Berkhampstead (Per Tutti in particular).

Nestled alongside the picturesque Grand Union Canal, The Grand Junction Arms is a charming waterfront pub that boasts a spacious garden perfect for soaking up the sun. This delightful spot serves an array of well-presented British dishes, bar snacks, and refreshing real ales. With roots tracing back to 1799 when the canal transformed Tring from a tranquil agricultural hub into an industrious locale, this establishment offers not just great food and drink but also a slice of history.
Wandered in after a morning canal walk and totally out of the blue ( and character) ordered a full English breakfast. Absolutely amazing...Portion sizes were generous to say the least, the food was cooked to perfection and not greasy at all. The Lattes were hot and tasty. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive without being pushy. Prices were good and we believed excellent value for money. Lucky it was sunny so sat overlooking the canal...perfect. Would definitely recommend and will be going back. Can't fill in the food recommendation bit below as breakfast isn't on it otherwise would be 5* on its own

Can't judge the food as we didn't eat, but watch this space, we'll be eating there soon. Update, we visited on fathers day, what a test, would we get" sorry we're busy there might be a long wait for food" NO WE DIDN'T, fast efficient service, a very organised kitchen and staff, food truck in the garden by canal looked very smooth. We ate inside and had, the pork, chicken and beef roasts, plus burger with bacon, excellent Yorkshire pudding. All the staff where great, but a special mention to Amiee and Emily for excellent service

Excellent experience dining around the Chefs table. Service, food and wine were all superb! Definitely one of the best dining experiences we have had. Each course tasted so delicious with a delightful combination of flavours. It was also great to be able to chat with Scott (Chef!) throughout the evening. Highly recommend and absolutely Perfect for a Special Occasion!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Crockers, for a tasting menu chef's table booking for a special occasion. The food was sublime, and each element was perfectly prepared and presented. Julie, our host, welcomed us warmly and although we picked a quiet Tuesday night, she and the chefs exercised a perfect balance between conversation and privacy. Each dish was beautifully designed, and full of flavours. We enjoyed seeing the dishes cooked and plated in front of us, and listening to the chef Michael and his assistant chef explaining the dishes and their passion. We hope to return in the future!

Came for a Friday night dinner off a family recommendation and will definitely be coming back, the evening restaurant set menu was delicious and good value for money with 5 main courses (and 2 surprise courses making 7 total) for £65 a head. Staff were really professional but personable also and did a great job explaining all courses. The restaurant was a little quiet and some of the artwork not quite the same vibe as the amazing food and service but nothing bothersome at all!

Food was ok, nothing stood out. My favourite dish was the crackers, all the other dishes felt like they had one to many ingredients. Simpler could have been better. Service was very slow, 2hrs 30mins for 5 dishes. This left us waiting more than 20 minutes in-between each dish. One of the waiters was also visibly irritated with something all evening. The atmosphere was good, the vault bar down stairs had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately we were left disappointed, we won't be returning.

If you travel from Essex to Hertfordshire for lunch then you must think it is worth the trip. Well let me tell you that a visit to Crockers in Tring is just that. This was our fourth time and once again we enjoyed a fabulous Tasting Menu from Scott and all his team. We made the one hour drive to Tring in Hertfordshire. We parked at the bottom of the high street and from there it’s only a short walk through the beautiful town to the top end which is where you will find Crockers. The place is set over three floors with as you enter on street level you will find the restaurant then downstairs is the Cellar Bar. This is where you’ll begin before you make your way to the first floor where the Chefs Table is situated. The chef’s table is a fifteen seater counter tasting menu dining experience where you will enjoy fabulous food and service as well as interacting and watching the team prepare and serve each course. We arrived to a friendly welcome before being escorted downstairs for an aperitif. Then you head to the first floor where you’ll be greeted by Scott and the team to begin your afternoon. The Tasting Menu is 9 courses and reasonably priced at £135 which personally is great value when you consider the quality of the produce. The first two courses are your snacks before the arrival of the fabulous Tring Brewery Beer Bread. This will lead you into the BEEF - this is a take on a burger with a beef tartare , smoked cheese , lettuce and mustard. This was followed by a fantastic SCALLOP - with squid , monks beard , seaweed and a roe butter sauce. These were two amazing courses yet what was to follow was even better. This led to the main course of HOGGET - a saddle with asparagus , stuffed morel mushroom and a black garlic purée. This dish was pure heaven and for me the standout dish of the day. Now it was time for the cheese and desserts. This started with the CHEESE - a barkham blue with an apple tart and lemon thyme honey. Your palate was then refreshed by the CITRUS - of bergamot , blood orange , fennel and olive oil. You would then finish with the RHUBARB - with opalys , ginger and fromage blanc. We finished with a coffee and what only can be described as an amazing selection of Petit Fours to round of a fantastic afternoon. This was an excellent menu and will be hard to beat this year. Every dish was perfectly cooked and well presented. Scott and the team do create a nice atmosphere and it’s also a great way to chat to fellow diners. I really would recommend a visit to Crockers as I think you’ll be in for a treat. We will definitely be back again before the year is out. Thank You to Scott , Mike’s , apprentice Toby and all the team for a fabulous dining experience and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

The Greyhound Inn is a charming former coaching inn owned by Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump. This gastropub offers a unique dining experience with a wide selection of real ales. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, it has become a popular spot in Beaconsfield since its opening in December 2019. The inn features guestrooms and serves as an excellent base for those wishing to explore the surrounding area.
We booked a lunch table following a cycle ride for which unfortunately we were late due to roadworks! When we arrived we were greeted very warmly with a polite warning that the kitchen was about to close - totally understandable - we were late. So menus were brought, orders taken and then we were served an array of different home cooked meals. The service was outstanding in our opinion. We had bacon, Brie and cranberry sandwiches, pork with mash, the vegetarian platter plus others. All were excellent. Thank you to the lovely staff member who was also there to the end to make sure we were all ok. Thoroughly recommend based on this visit 👍

Was staying nearby for a wedding the following day and can for a meal here. The food was absolutely excellent. It is not often I look at a menu and get tempted by so many of the choices. The staff were also amazing and so helpful. We parked easily outside even though it was a sunny Friday evening and the pub was busy. Lovely pub in a lovely village location. Very impressed and would definitely return if in the area again.
Margaret J — Google review
I don’t often leave reviews that aren’t fully positive, but I think it’s only fair to share our experience. The Greyhound Inn is a very charming pub in a wonderful location, with plenty of parking. The food was delicious for dinner, the service excellent, and the bar staff in particular were fantastic – really friendly and a credit to the team. The pub itself has a thriving, lively atmosphere and feels like a real hub. Unfortunately, our room was extremely warm during our stay. To be fair, we were in the middle of a heatwave, so this isn’t something the pub can control - but even so, it made it very difficult to sleep. I usually have no trouble sleeping anywhere, but in this case I managed only a couple of hours, waking up constantly from the heat. A small fan in the room would have gone a long way to making things more bearable. We had booked for two nights but ended up leaving early after our first morning as we were both so exhausted. I raised this with Hotels.com (who we booked with), and they liaised with the owner, who felt the heat wasn’t as intense as I’d described. Of course, everyone experiences things differently, but it really was too uncomfortable for us. We were refunded £50 of the £129.99 rate for the second night. While I appreciate this gesture, I had hoped a full refund for the unused night might have been considered, as we would have happily returned another time in cooler weather – the pub itself really is great. Overall, I’d say the Greyhound Inn is a fantastic pub and worth visiting, but if you’re staying overnight during very hot weather, it may be worth checking whether cooling options are available.

I can't thank the Greyhound enough for accommodating us! I organised I hike with my gym, so had a big group to accommodate for lunch, they took my booking of 20 no problem, and even were kind enough to amend when the inevitable happened and numbers dropped nearer the time. Then we got lost, and arrived 40 mins late but were still kind enough to take us in. Food and service was perfect after a long day of walking ng - thank you!

Lovely country pub which has a great courtyard at the back and is dog friendly. The pub is bigger than it looks with a large restaurant area to the back. Unfortunately it drops a star as we booked a table but no table was reserved and we had to wait for a table to become available. Menu what a good selection of food, we went for Sunday lunch. The dinner was very good but I would prefer more vegetables, one carrot, one brocoli and some red cabbage was not enough. The desserts were okay but my sticky toffee pudding was not hit when served and my husband had no chutney or butter with his cheese and biscuits. Yes we could have asked for this to be rectified but the staff were too busy to catch their eye. Be prepared for a large bill if you have drinks as well. Per couple, our part of the bill, £94 then plus a tip at 10% cake on at just over £100.

Lovely lunch at the Oak. With the fire roaring, the back dining area is exactly what an English pub should be - cosy, welcoming, warm and serving up excellent dishes. I had the Cottage pie and roasted veg, and it was delicious. It is a Fullers pub, so expect Fullers ales (not my favourite), but otherwise a superb pub and well worth a visit ☺️

Booked table 3 weeks in advance for birthday meal for 6, they called 1 day before the birthday to inform me they were cancelling the booking as it was Monday quizz night and they had no tables available. Why take the booking and then why leave it to last minute to cancel? Absolutely appalling customer service, usually enjoy eating here but wont come again, will spend my money with a pub that that appreciates its customers.

By chance found this on Google when search for a pub on the way home from a National Trust. We would not have found it without the aid of maps. Nice welcome seated inside which had character. Menu Fairly extensive, I had the pie of the day, beef and ale, my partner had the ploughman’s it was a large plate of cheese, pickles and apples - delicious. My daughter had two starters, pate and mushrooms on sourdough toast p, causing food envy on my part, Food very good reasonable prices and great service Search it out it will be worth it

I have been to this pub so many times as its my local and its been great. But today lunch was to celebrate my daughters new job but we were served pink undercooked chicken twice! These things happen from time to time but the attitude of the chef was not acceptable.. We were first given an apology and offer of free deserts which we accepted and then this was withdrawn after the second serving of undercooked chicken was served. We were not being difficult but were not going to run the risk of food poisoning. By this time we had had enough..lunch time celebrations were ruined so we left! Perhaps the chef should learn that hacking off his regular customers who have never complained about anything before and had legitimate reasons is not a wise move!

Everyone I met in town, and colleagues who visited before, all told me to I finally I gave in, and am very glad I did. After looking at the menu I asked about another dish I like and if they had something similar. To my surprise, they immediately offered to make it for me. It turned out wonderfully. I didn't expect that kind of service, all I was looking for was something similar. Amazing! Forgive the poor pictures; old phone and bad lighting. The starter is lamb chops in pastry, and the main is lamb as well.

We went for their weekend 'Colonial Thali' brunch. The restaurant is very fancy with a lovely easthetic, rather formal. We were greeted warmly at the door. Service was incredibly slow, despite us and one other table being the only ones present. After a 25 minute wait for 2 dishes, the Thali platters came which had a variety of 'Indian' style dishes. The food was just fine, you get quite a lot for your money. However the food was rather bland for Indian food unfortunately, lacking spices, heat and seasoning. The waiter explained it was 'Anglo' Indian food, so adapted for the local customers, which was rather a shame. We also ordered two 'lattes' which were from a machine in restaurant - were very bad quality, hardly any coffee taste, just tasted of piping hot skimmed milk. Overall, glad we tried something new. It is good value for money, however we won't be returning, purely due to the slow service, over formal atmosphere and muted flavours of Indian dishes.

"The Red Lion" is a charming and family-friendly pub located in the beautiful Chilterns, near Amersham. It offers a variety of real ales and classic dishes, with particular praise for its Sunday lunch. The pub has an old-fashioned rustic charm with two bars, friendly staff, and spacious outdoor areas. Visitors can enjoy the lovely original features and a good selection of local beers. The food is highly recommended, especially the steak and ale pie, all at reasonable prices.
Had a lovely dinner with delicious cider infront of the fantastic fire. Extra treat was listening to the Morris Dancers practicing their music. So magical to be in a wonderful pub listening to wonderful music.

Really great little pub. Been meaning to try it for years and finally made it for a Friday lunch. Dog friendly and a great rear garden with plenty of benches and room. A few tables dotted out the front and ample parking. Very friendly service with a fantastic selection of drinks behind the bar. Specials menu was almost as big as the usual food menu. All very reasonably priced with great portion sides. The small 4oz burger was a meal in itself. Will definitely be visiting more often over the summer months..

A little gem of a place, where we stopped for a late lunch after a walk around nearby reservoirs and the canal. A lovely log fire was burning, giving off a cosy heat. We arrived near to closing time but we weren’t rushed at all and made very welcome, including our two dogs which were well behaved after their long walk! The food was freshly prepared and delicious , we’ll definitely come back here when next in the area .

Wonderful building! Even though the kitchen was about to close (do phone ahead as they don't cook every day) they rustled up fabulous sausages, chips & baked beans for us. The staff are friendly & helpful.

My wife Debbie and I paid our first ever visit to the Red Lion today having driven passed it last week by accident. Lovely beer and the best Ham, Egg and chips (a great British pub classic) we have ever had. Will be back.

Great pub, currently not doing food as there is ongoing repair work following the fire. However pub is open for drinks and keep an eye out for notices as they often get in great food vans.

A proper British country pub. Real character and a great selection of local real ales. Set in a beautiful village with a lovely beer garden, darts board and a cosy fire in the winter, what’s not to love!

A lovley old fashioned free house in the village of marsworth with a nice beamed ceiling and the 1st room was a lounge with sofas and cosy atmosphere but that room was closed 2nd room was a public bar which was open with a jukebox bar billiards and a big tv with sports showing but this was not available unfortunately due to covid-19 and the tv was turned off as no sports were playing but they had friendly staff and bartenders free wi-fi and got great social distancing theres a front patio with tables and smoking area at the back the toilets were clean and nice also very close to the canal i went yesterday (thursday) after my 5 mile walk along the canal i went with my mum and i had a diet coke and chorizo crisps i love this pub as its quiet in the bar and we've got the whole inside to ourselves

Bar & grill
Mediterranean restaurant
The Artisan Bar, Grill & Garden is a delightful destination that promises an enjoyable experience for all visitors. On my recent Sunday lunch visit, I was greeted by beautiful weather and a bustling atmosphere, although the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed due to the crowd. Despite the wait for our table, the delicious meal made it worthwhile. The owners were incredibly apologetic about the delay, which added a personal touch to our visit.
Great Bar and grill Service - fast and friendly. Food - we ordered from the outdoor bar menu, the food was good, the service was fast and reliably priced in line with what you expect from a bar menu. The place has a good size car park, the garden is good and spaced out nicely, there are outdoor toilets, also a nice kids area. Overall very well looked after and serviced place, I look forward to the next visit to the main bar vs the outdoor garden.

Very very very well surprised by the customer service food and place. Never been here before however we celebrated my father’s in law 80th birthday in one of the pods, and what a great service that was. Food was super tasty , very helpful staff and ofcourse pods itself can accommodate quite a lot of people we had about 45-49 people and they all fit very nicely! Good bar staff, music. It was a shame that it was raining because garden is great for sunny days. Definitely recommend and keep up with the great work guys!

First time visiting for Sunday lunch. We booked for 2.30pm. We ended up arriving early. The weather was great for our first weekend in months. It was unusually busy and unexpected as understaffed for such an influx of people. We ended up waiting till 3.45pm to be taken to our table. We enjoyed a great Sunday lunch nevertheless. The owners couldn't apologise enough. We would definitely go back. Loved the decor, and the outside gardens. Looking forward to visiting again in the summer months.

Good: A nice restaurant for a birthday celebration. There was a singer for the evening who was good. Very friendly staff. Lots of parking available Bad: I would say that the food was not good enough for the price we paid. It’s quite a big open space inside which makes it super noisy on a Saturday night. Dessert was underwhelming.

A place we discovered accidentally, but proved to be really nice. It has huge indoors and outdoors seating areas and apparently is often used for functions. On Sunday the menu is all about Sunday roast, but it was good and the service was amazing. Great place to gather with the family

So… we had my Mother in Law’s 70th birthday lunch booked for 10 of us on Sunday 28th Sept. Upon arriving, the front of house look a little flustered and checked our names and explained they had messed up the booking and were struggling for tables. He said we could use a larger table that they wanted back at 4pm. Our booking was for 2pm. It’s lucky that we don’t like to sit around after eating and we were finished with about 20 minutes left. We did find ourselves clock watching which ruined it a bit for me. Food and service was great but the overall experience was tainted by the mess up with tables. Especially for such a special occasion.

I have visited Waters Edge Marsworth twice in the past week. The first time was for a quick break on my bike ride, where I enjoyed a delicious Flat White and Cinnamon bun/donut. On my second visit, I had lunch with my son and we both loved our meals. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich which was a bit pricey at 12.95 but absolutely exquisite. It had a generous portion of fresh and flavorful salt beef.
Nice place for coffee n cake. We had hot chocolate, coffee and salted caramel brownie. Brownie was very delicious. Coffee and hot chocolate were good as well. Staff is very nice and helpful. Atmosphere was beautiful, small flower pots on every table with the table number written on them was very cute and creative. Would like to go again.

A lovely English waterside pub. Though there is no direct view ovee the canal the exterior courtyard and extended grounds provide a very cordial place to drink and dine al fresco. Staff are friendly and we spent a brilliant spring day afternoon there. The only negative was the Reuben Bap had one thin slice of salt beef, you could stretch to at least two. Also a Reuben sandwich is made with corned beef or pastrami. The fries were excellent. This is positive criticism and we look forward to returning to enjoy a great place.

Everything was perfect, nice people, great food. The ambience is also very calming, I liked the various type of chairs picking.. The only downside is that we been asked to wait for the table service order and waited too long for it. Upon asking back we been realized to ask what we’d like. We ordered an extra chip they forgot it but also happily offered the refund so all great ;) I defo recommend here..

I would of taken a picture but by the time our meal had come to our table it looked too good to take a picture. We had to tuck in straight away. If your in the local area and your reading this I highly recommend the Rueben. All the ingredients were fresh and well presented. Both my partner and I loved it. On the plus I enjoy hot sauces, so when I asked if they had hot sauce for the chips, they actually had a decent condiment and not big standard Tabasco you would find at any other establishment. Really impressed with how well this little cafe. Great stuff.

The menu features a range of British comfort food—from bar snacks to hearty mains like steaks and seabass—ensuring there's something for everyone.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch, Ruby the waitress was hands on and friendly, few hiccups but nothing to major, considering how busy the pub was. Starter and mains were delish. We will be returning again. The magician was a great little treat. Highly recommend

Spent a warm summers evening having dinner with friends in one of the outdoor huts and it was ideal for a friendly catch up over food & drinks. Harry was a brilliant server with down to earth chat, professional recommendations and transparency with pub information & availability on what was on offer. The menu is a little bit pricey but the food was so delicious we caught the chef himself - who we believe to be a new addition - and complimented our food. Every dish was delicious. Even if a bit pricey for a pub dinner.

Been meaning to leave a review for a very long time, however managed to forget..probably due to the fantastic friendly service we always receive from the team. We are always welcomed with open arms and the team bend over backwards to accommodate us. I must shout out the whole team… they’re all amazing… however, Becks has served us since we first started coming here, since moving in locally, before Jason the Head Chef joined, she was the main reason for our return. Jason joined, the food has been out of this world… I would recommend the roasts - they’re delicious! The beef is served pink and the vegetables are cooked perfectly and well seasoned. It’s always a pleasure coming to visit The Black Horse and we cannot recommend it enough. Final shout out to Becks, Jason… our favourites… and of course Harry, Layla, Ben, Jess, Jack and Ollie. ❤️❤️❤️

I was on a business trip in Tring and wanted to find a place to get takeaway for lunch. However, when I walked into Tarboush Tring, the amazing ambiance and exceptional customer service provided by Will changed my mind and I decided to dine in instead. I ordered rice with grilled chicken wings and salad, which was incredibly delicious. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious with unique decorations. The staff were friendly and the service was fast.
Tried the bubble tea. Huge selection of choices. Tiger and cherry tea were great. Popping balls very generous portion. We sat in downstairs and it's a nice atmosphere.

My 5 year old thoroughly enjoyed his meal and says we have to come here again!for a fussy eater that speaks volumes.

First visit to Tarboush. This is a lovely quaint restaurant that packs a punch with flavour. For starters we had Beiruti hummus and harrissa prawns, both of which were awesome. Portions are huge! For mains we had the mixed grill and spicy tawouk. Again, the flavours were just on point and the meat quality and cookery is excellent. Delicious breads, sauces and salad for accompaniments too. Two things I think could be improved, though: 1. Desserts - the dessert menu didn’t feel as authentic/homemade/traditional as the starters and main menus. There are two pages of what feels like a random assortment of desserts - Portuguese tarts, orange chocolate cake, lemon cake, crème Catalana, Victoria sponge to name a few. It gave the impression of a well stocked fridge/freezer of pre-prepared desserts that have nothing to do with the restaurant. There is a special dessert of the day, but we were told there wasn’t one when we visited (a busy Saturday evening). We ended up ordering the baklava with ice cream, which was underwhelming, especially the ice cream, which was very icy. 2. Service - it started off really well with warm welcoming smiles and greetings. But as the night went on the service did get slower, and in the end we needed to grab someone’s attention to ask for our main dishes to be cleared off the table and for the desserts menu. We then had to go up to the bar and ask for the bill at the very end. Despite all of this, the starters and mains are just too good and outweigh the negatives we experienced. So, we would definitely return but would just skip the desserts the next time we visit… But if the Tarboush team can reinvent the desserts menu, they would be onto a winner! It would be amazing to showcase more Lebanese/Middle Eastern desserts in my opinion.

Came to Tarboush for dinner for the first time tonight with a group of friends and this place did not disappoint! The food was delicious, the cocktails were tasty (and incredibly good value with their offer), the decor was beautiful and the staff were lovely too. Honestly couldn't fault anything! We ordered a couple of mezze each to share and there was plenty of food to go around. The Beiruty shawarma lamb was particularly tasty, though I enjoyed all the dishes I sampled. Very reasonably priced overall, especially considering how delicious the food was. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to everyone and I'm sure we'll be back soon!

This was an absolutely fantastic restaurant. We went here on a Tuesday evening. It wasn’t too busy, and we were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic vibe and beautiful decorations. The food arrived quickly, and was incredibly tasty. I particularly liked the hummus with green chilli. The mixed grill was also great, along with the baklava. The prices were also pretty reasonable. I would definitely come back here, and highly recommend it.

In addition to excellent food and staff, there's also a room at the back which is available for shisha if you fancy relaxing after your meal. Overall, a real hidden gem and I will be recommending Tarboush to anyone that will listen!

Nestled in the heart of Tring, Nonna's Supper Club is a delightful deli café that has quickly become a local favorite. This charming establishment is the brainchild of Georgina and her grandmother, Romana, who initially launched it as an authentic Italian supper club. After gaining popularity through market takeaways, they found their perfect home on the high street.
The food, the staff and the coffee were all amazing. It felt like sitting on a little back street in a small Italian town. There was something really warm and welcoming about the place, the kind of spot that makes you want to slow down and enjoy every moment. A beautiful and romantic experience that I will definitely come back to.

An authentic Italian deli, offering a varied selection of lunch options, sweets and drinks to dine in or take away. Friendly staff. Always busy, getting a space inside can be tricky and rather cramped so we tend to choose the outdoor seating on the roadside. Glad to have this little spot on the doorstep.

Very popular place in Tring, offering ciabatta sandwiches, focaccia, salads and pastries. Plenty of vegetarian options. My friend has the roasted pepper and smoked mozzarella ciabatta and loved it, I had a pesto ‘panino’ not what I expected kind of doughy and raw tasting. We also had the tomato and pesto focaccia which is tasty, note that there is quite a bit of raw garlic, but the serving is very small so it was ok. Queue and order at the till, with food served to your table. Seating inside and a few small tables outside next to the road. Dog friendly. Nice staff.

It was an amazing place, felt like actually being in Italy. Loved the food 😋 Pistachio cannoli is a must have 🥰 Made from Florentine and filled with generous pistachio filling. Atmosphere was great. Oh my goodness!!!! How fantastic is Nonna’s?!!! Searching for party catering was beginning to get me down a bit…super expensive, too boring, too much faff and all a bit, well, too much! Then came Nonna’s! We’d been there before for coffee and cake and remembered how delicious the food always looked. My husband called them on the off-chance and a lovely lady called us back straight away and said they could help with just a couple of weeks to go. A wonderful menu was put together and suggested to us, with plenty of room to change things and throughout the whole process the team kept us up to date and answered all our questions promptly and carefully. And the food? It was absolutely delicious! Everyone really enjoyed all the courses and with a great balance of meat and veggie dishes, all felt catered for. We had a lovely balance of nibbly-bits, main courses and gorgeous salads topped off with delicious focaccia! The puddings were excellent and we eat it all! Couldn’t fault service and product, absolutely perfect. Thank you Nonna’s for making it a wonderful party 🎉

The Goat Public House is a delightful spot in Berkhamsted that perfectly blends the charm of a family and dog-friendly sports bar with the excitement of live music. Known as the go-to destination for sports enthusiasts, it showcases all major events through Sky Sports. Visitors rave about the welcoming atmosphere and delicious food offerings, particularly highlighting their mouthwatering platter featuring beef ribs that are simply unforgettable.
This place is amazing! We tried the rum punch and piña colada and they were fantastic. The jerk rib was delicious and the curry goat was out of this world but may be too much for those that can't handle spice. We had the rum cake for dessert and it was lovely, very strong on the rum. As a Caribbean person myself, I would say everything was super authentic and the atmosphere was great. I recommend this place to everyone and we will definitely be returning.

Had the jerk chicken at The Goat Yard in Tring. Flavor was on point, tender and nicely spiced. Portions were on the smaller side, but the seasoning and sides made up for it. The real star might’ve been the sorrel cocktail! The nice little surprise to find proper Jamaican food here.

Amazing place! The food is fabulous. Loved listening to the reggae songs, sipping on their rum punch. My fave meals were the jerk mango pork belly bites and curry goat! The scotch egg was top notch too. Friendly service also! Worth the travel there and would definitely go back 🙌🏼

I wanted to try somewhere different to celebrate my birthday this year…..well I succeeded!!! The place is small but perfectly formed! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the rum punch delicious and the food….wow! Yes, they ask for a £10 per seat deposit….in this climate I don’t think that’s unreasonable. So visit the yard or the boat and experience a taste sensation!!!!

We visited The Goat Yard for an early Father’s Day meal and had a mixed experience, but there are definitely things to appreciate and I would consider coming back. The atmosphere is lovely. The decor, lighting, and music create a warm, vibrant environment, and I really appreciated how allergy-friendly the menu is. Gluten-free items are clearly labelled, which is always helpful. We had booked in advance and paid a £10 per person booking deposit, which is taken off the final bill, along with a 50p per person admin fee. I completely understand why this system exists, especially for a small restaurant where no-shows can have a real impact. However, it was disappointing to be seated at a cramped and very dark table in the corner. I asked if we could move to a brighter nearby table, but was told it was reserved. While I understand that, we had also booked and paid in advance, and there were other more comfortable tables that remained empty throughout our visit. With a system like this in place, it would be nice if guests who pre-booked were seated more thoughtfully. I had planned to order the jerk pork ribs, which looked amazing online, but after we ordered, the server informed us there would be a 40-minute wait while a new batch was prepared. That was disappointing, especially after waiting to be seated. I ended up ordering the curry goat instead. It was decent, but I personally would have liked more flavour and spice. On a more positive note, the rest of my group really enjoyed their pork belly dishes. One thing to know for next time is that any main can be made into a full meal for an extra £8.50. The server didn’t explain this clearly. We were just asked if we wanted the dish “as a meal,” and I didn’t realise the extra charge until later. It wasn’t a major issue, as I would’ve gone for the meal option anyway, but it would have been helpful to know beforehand. Tap water is self-service, which is fine in general, but it’s not ideal when seated in a tight space. Our table was also so dimly lit that it was hard to see. The server kindly brought candles to help, which we appreciated, though it didn’t fully solve the issue. The total came to just over £110 for three people. The food was good, the restaurant has a lot of potential, and there are things I really liked. However, the service and seating arrangements did impact the experience. I didn’t have the smoothest visit this time, but I would consider coming back and giving it another go.

Very friendly staff and very tasty food the portions were massive we got the platter and it could have easily feed 4/5 people , the rum punch definitely had rum in it 🤣. Some mains served long before others, so dishes began to go cold by the time everything arrived. Ate our starters without cutlery or napkins. Had to ask for cutlery for the mains. The waitress spilled our drinks and curry when bringing it to the table. Food: Various menu items not available, yet inconsistently marked on different menus. Started with one of the most expensive spring rolls we've had at £3 per spring roll. They turned out to be quite tasteless and were only saved by the accompanying sweet sauce. Ordered a mixture of mains which were only okay. The egg in the Pad Thai was uncooked and the rest of the dish fairly bland. The Massaman curry was okay, but the staff forgot to bring the chilli we'd asked for. Penang curry was nice. We also ordered 'cans' of drink, yet we only had a glass full which we were certain was less than a can in volume. Others who appeared to be the staffs friends were given full cans. Broken glass in drink: I found a piece of broken glass in my drink which I only noticed it when I felt something sharp in my mouth. Luckily I hadn't swallowed it! I wasn't going to mention this glass incident in this review, as we were subtle when informing the staff at the time, but the fact they had the cheek to charge us for the drink and then added a 10 percent service charge on top of the bill (only removed after I requested it), I couldn't believe it. Service charge should not be assumed, especially when you could have caused harm to your customer! If this was to happen anywhere else you'd expect common courtesy to provide some sort of substantial compensation or at least the drink not charged for! All we got was an apology and an offer of another drink (which I definitely wasn't going to ask for at that point). I'm left shocked and bemused by the whole experience.

An evening meal for 2 on Saturday evening (booked in advance). I've eaten in a lot of Thai food in restaurants in the UK, and abroad, and having visited Thailand I consider Thai food to be one of my favourite cuisines. I was looking forward to trying a red or green curry at Oh Phuket. The restaurant is small as expected, with quite a nice decor. On arrival I was surprised to be presented with a festive menu with a set price for 2 or 3 courses, the usual menu wasn't available. However the festive menu IS the usual menu, just rebranded for the Christmas period, and the price was a bit higher than when ordering the dished separately - at £25 for 2 courses it is expensive for Thai street food. We were asked if we'd like some prawn crackers but as these were NOT complimentary, I declined (it wasn't initially obvious that we would need to pay £3.50 for them). I also felt that we HAD to order the 2 courses (as minimum) as that was all that was on offer. We had the pork balls and spring rolls to start with - both freshly cooked, crispy and very tasty - but quite small portions of 2 spring rolls and 3 pork balls. We had the green curry with beef, and red curry with chicken. The curry sauce is authentic and looked and smelt very Thai - fragrant and appetising. On the downside, the beef was chewy and didn't look very nice, almost like cooked beef slices from a pack cut into small pieces. The chicken was also very bland. I'm assuming that the meat is added to the sauce at the end, hence it didn't absorb any of the flavours of the curry. The chicken was probably chicken breast, I feel that using chicken thighs on the bone would have provided more flavour. The rice was nicely cooked. There was nothing festive or Chrismassy about the meal - other local eateries are offering similar deals but include a Christmas cracker and probably better value meals. For this price I would expect prawn crackers or a Christmas cracker to be included. I don't think I'll be back - it is simply over-priced for the quality provided, which is a shame as I like to support local eateries and the staff (including the chef) all work hard.

At a first glance the place is a bit simple but as they say you can't judge a book by its cover. Next is the food ITS SO GOOD and let's just say if you like spice your in for a treat. The food is just incredible. The staff are also really kind and helpful and they even gave us blankets! Highly recommended 👌 Written by Exeter food critic: Chico Passaro Age 10

Really tasty food! You'll probably find it different from your average Thai take-away because this is like home-cooked traditional dishes. The service is not exactly refined (uncomfortable chairs, plastic tubs with cutlery piled in, soft drinks served in cans) but once you get over that, it's kind of ok. Struggled to read menu (light font on patterned background).

Great vibe and super tasty food, perfect for an evening out with friends or a special celebration. We went for their opening festival and the team were very welcoming and friendly (even in the rain)! Some outdoor, covered seating and an outdoor bar with a great selection of drinks. Highly recommend, will be back soon 🙌

Treated my mum and partner to an authentic Thai dinner. When returning they both said how nice everything was. There were special mentions for the tom yum soup, duck pad Thai and pad king prawns with coconut rice. Excellent all round.

Really weird unfriendly welcome. Like we were an inconvenience because we hadn’t booked.. the chef came out and said “if you take their order quickly then fine” to the waitress who had yet to acknowledge us! The menu was unhelpful, no explanation on what anything meant or what was in it. When we asked the waiter he had to call someone else over to tell us what was in the curry. We ended up just ordering drinks and leaving as we did not feel welcome at all. Would not go back

Canton City is a culinary gem that truly stands out in the realm of Chinese cuisine. Diners rave about the delicious, hot, and crispy beef dishes that seem almost miraculous in their texture. Despite some initial hesitations due to past reviews, many have found Canton City to be far superior to other options in Tring. While there may be occasional delays with orders—sometimes taking over two hours—the authentic flavors make it worth the wait.
Amazing service and incredible food! Delivery driver was so friendly and delivered quickly… even put in a free bottle of fizzy so thank you all 👏

Mimi's Kitchen & Bar is a charming and modern eatery that offers a delightful atmosphere perfect for any occasion. The menu features an array of crowd-pleasing dishes, with standout options like their delicious pizza. While the portions tend to lean towards meat-heavy selections, there are also vegetarian choices available for those who prefer lighter fare.
A cosy modern kitchen in a delightful setting. The menu has a good range of crowd pleasing items. The pizza is very good. Looking at other peoples dishes, going by the portions are good though they are a bit meat heavy, so choose carefully if you don't want just mainly meat and potato. Update: There are a range of vegetarian options also on the menu however I have not specifically looked at these so I will update this review next time I am in. Recommended.

Beautiful Kitchen & Bar, we received a warm welcome and attentive service. The menu is extensive and we both went for the Eggs in the Forest which were presented impeccably, superb quality and very reasonably priced. The desserts were delicious. We really enjoyed our meal and the wonderful service and such a pretty venue. Thank you very much.

Just had my 70th birthday celebration at Mimi's. We booked The Piano Bar. A perfect venue for an informal family gathering. It felt just like home from home. Mimi and her staff were amazing. So helpful and accommodating.Nothing was too much trouble and there was always a smile. Now, very importantly, the food. We chose a buffet. We received everything we ordered. It was all freshly made and totally delicious

China Town is a top-notch Chinese takeaway that stands out among the many eateries across the country. With its consistently delicious and well-prepared dishes, it has become a go-to place for food enthusiasts. The menu offers a variety of high-quality options, including crispy duck and salt and chili squid, which are especially noteworthy. The service is also commendable, with fast delivery even during busy times such as Friday evenings.
The best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Absolutely delicious, and ready so, so quickly. And when you make special dietary requests (or in my case just a preference) they make sure to follow them. Thank you China Town

Not good for allergy sufferers!!! My child has coeliac disease and I was told that the chicken balls were gluten free when I ordered before. I went to order again today and when I double checked it turns out they aren't gluten free at all. The lady even asked me if self raising flour contained gluten!!The food here is very nice but it's very dangerous for them to have no clue about the allergens in food and serve food to people when it could make then poorly.

Ordered takeaway a few times. From 4 dishes, 2 were ok. Ordered for Cantonese pork, boiled pork in tinned sweet pineapple juice, urgh, horrible, same pork pieces in mixed chow mein . It's like fooling people.chicken wings chilli salt, just salty no chilly .

This is one of the worst Chinese restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating from. They don’t understand about cleaning your prawn and shrimp. So I had mine with all that nasty black sewage vein from the back of the shrimp/prawn you’re supposed to remove. Basically, it’s a waste disposal pipe. When you phoned up and tell them this is not right, they start messaging you with rude sarcastic message.. Never again, will I let these people give me a stomachache. Lemon chicken was just revolting. The lemon sauce was like fairy liquid. These people can’t cook. The new chef is just ridiculous. And to make matters worse after paying for the delivery they phone me up to hustle me for one more pound. Telling me I’m over 3 miles away when I’m only 2.6. Asking me for £1 extra. Never again

Food was pretty rough, chow mein was dry and the spare ribs, chili beef and Kung pow chicken all used the same sauce which was pretty rank.

Took 3 hours for a simple order of rice, noodles, chips with sweet and sour chicken to arrive, whenever I called them I was greeted with a very rude response of it’s not ready yet we are busy, surely you would apply a minimal amount of common sense to ensure you get orders out within a reasonable time frame before accepting more orders! But not this place..shame as we ordered fairly regularly and I will now never order again

One of my favourite Indian restaurants to go to these days. Excellent service, food is just right and brilliant value for money. I've been to thousands of restaurants and this one is great 👍
Floyd M — Google review
Cramped and small restaurant however the staff are friendly. Initially forgot some of our groups drinks. Food is also good and we tried a few new things, included a Goan chicken. Naan breads are a bit bland in taste. The massive let down was their forcefulness over the optional service charge. When did we start to adapt an American culture of service charge?! We paid and left a tip and were still chased out of the restaurant demanding the full service charge of £20 be paid! Was a real let down and what gives them a low score.

A lovely refurbishment and a welcome addition to Tring High Street. Excellent Indian / Bangladeshi food, served with enthusiasm and warmth. Definitely on our "go there again soon" list.

Good menu choices for both vegetarian and non vegetarian. Service was prompt although the small restaurant was busy being a Saturday evening. Gave 4 stars overall as service charge was optional, and nan bread was a little dry. I would return to try other vegetarian options. Pleased that the mild dishes were mild. Reasonable priced meal for two.

Pleasant place but issues with the food: - Cobra and Kingfisher draft didn't taste right/good. - Poppadoms tasted stale / not fresh - Chicken tikka seemed rubbery and not tender Lovely onion bhaji, nice selection to go with the poppadoms and curry sauce tasted fine. For me, there are better places to go in the town/area.

Lovely moist and juicy chicken with a great crispy coating. Best chicken in the area. We ordered from Berkhamsted which is several miles from Tring, and it arrived pipping hot and delicious. UPDATE. The comments still apply above to the excellent quality of their food, but our latest order took over two hours to receive. We are elderly and like to eat early. We ordered just before 6 pm and the food arrived just after 8pm. If they had warned use delivery times were extended, we could have made other arrangements. This is not acceptable so star rating reduced.

Rang up ordered food from the website on Google and asked for 9 number nines chicken burgers did not get what we asked for we got spicy chicken and spicy chips. They won’t refund us. They are very rude, they need to sort their business out before they lose all their custom and they’re very slow on cooking stuff and as you can see of their website, it says they do burgers and apparently they don’t know more and they’ve lied trying to say I didn’t ask for burgers

Such brilliant service! We used Pizza Pleezer for our daughter’s birthday party after a few recommendations. The team were amazing throughout and made sure it was delivered to us early as we were on a tight schedule. A new pizza place in the area! I had to try it out and I really loved the service of the delivery, how quickly it came and the person was super nice. I got myself a margherita pizza and cheesy fries - Loved the skin cut fries but was a little underwhelmed by the pizza. It's got great form, not much flop, well done undercarriage (base) but I found the cheese to be seemingly processed? It could be the time it took from leaving the oven to my house, but it just seem solid and not really mixed well with the tomato sauce. The tomato sauce was nice but lacked any kind of seasoning. All in all, really liked the quality of the dough, how it was made and it was decent pizza, I was just expecting a little more with how it looked and the reviews so far. I'm defintely going to try a different topping pizza and eat at the place itself. The people and the general vibe of Pizza Pleezer is great to the point that I couldn't turn it down.

Tom's Cafe is a caravan style cafe located next to a an industrial estate and open field off Tring Road; serving home cooked breakfast, sandwiches and drinks. The service is incredibly friendly and the prices are great value. While it does not have any indoor seating and caters to takeout, the outside seating - in the form of two benches and two tables s - is convinient. The egg and bacon omelette I ordered was full of flavour and big chunks of mushroom and bacon. The coffee could be improved but a good choice for those on their way to Whipsnade Zoo. 1pm on Saturday 23rd Aug. Ordered a sandwich, ploughmans, kids sandwich (to go with picnic box), kids chicken nuggets and chips. Told roughly 30 minutes waiting time for food. Which is fine as it's a weekend. Gets to 45 minutes and we politely ask if there's any update on how long food will be, with 2 kids to entertain whilst waiting for food. Told it'll be 1 minute. Gets to 55 minutes and we ask again, as the table next to us, that sat down 10 minutes after us received thier cooked food. The waitress goes to the kitchen and says it's coming. Someone then comes marching out the kitchen and essentially just drops the food on the table. No words or anything at all. Not even a warning about a very hot plate for my child (probably from being sat on the pass whilst a item was cooked that wasn't cooked at the 45 minutes question) Never like leaving bad reviews, but the service was shocking considering it's high cost for basic food. (The food itself was good and no issues there) The manager was wandering around looking busy and talking to customers. Might be worth sticking in the kitchen if there is a issue
