Seafood restaurant
Adolfo is a must-visit seafood restaurant in Comillas, renowned for its exceptional quality and traditional dishes. Locals often recommend it for family celebrations or gatherings with friends, thanks to its delectable offerings of fresh fish, shellfish, and meats sourced from the region. The Cantabrian sole and monkfish are particularly popular among diners.
The salads, seafood and fish were incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and it was all very good value for money. It’s a popular restaurant and the waiters were rushed off their feet but service was ‘on- the-button once we got their attention.
Mark R — Google review
The squid was tender and well-seasoned; not at all chewy. The salad was fresh and tasty, but had slightly too much vinegar. All the waiters were nice and helpful. What could be better was the small appetiser served at the start of our meal, which was a small plate of chips, as they were a bit too oily. Also, the restaurant is a bit pricey for the kind of food and restaurant it is.
George L — Google review
Great food and service! We arrived late to comillas and it was not easy to find a place to eat as it was close to 3pm. Initially Adolfo did not take us but ended up offering a spot late without reservation. It was all worth it. We ordered sardines, chipotons, and the steak! The manager was really sweet! Highly recommended.
Ghassan S — Google review
Fantastic family owned seafood restaurant, top of the list of places to eat in Comillas. The family is very friendly and hands on in managing the quality of the food and the service. Cozy setting, not a great location on the Main Street. But very highly recommended, we indulged in the lobster with rice...one of the best we have tasted and their scallops were great too.
Tarek S — Google review
Truly delicious food. Service great, food delicious. Very satisfied.
Julio V — Google review
Great food, welcoming and attentive staff. We hade some scallops that were overcooked but everything else was top notch.
PL — Google review
Highly recommend this restaurant! We visited twice as it was such a nice experience. The food was amazing. We especially enjoyed the chipirones a la cebolla (baby squid with onions) and the almejas (clams) were delicious. We also loved the garlic shrimp (gambones al ajo) and the rice with clams and baby squid. The food was fairly priced and the service was friendly.

Pizza restaurant
Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Restaurante Quo Vadis is a simple trattoria with a terrace, offering a variety of Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, and jugs of sangria. The restaurant is known for its amazing pizzas and vegetarian options that are both delicious and gluten-free. The homemade desserts, particularly the cheesecake and tiramisu, are described as glorious and divine. The portion sizes are generous, making it essential to bring a hearty appetite.
I knew that being a gluten free vegetarian in Spain would be tricky before I arrived, and it was until we found Quo Vadis. What a delightful find! When the staff realised that we were English they provided us with menus fully in English. All the pasta dishes and pizzas were avaliable to be made gluten free and all the starters and desserts are always gluten free. We've eaten here three nights in a row and had the option to eat something different each night. What an absolute treat. The gluten free cheesecake was heavenly! Thank you!
Tamzin P — Google review
Fantastic place to eat. We had the Eggplant Parmesan and a Vegetarian pizza; both were great. We could not finish either dish, so bring your to-go container! With a beer and a good glass of wine, it was 33 euros.
Ktcadd — Google review
This is not an Italian restaurant. Nice terrace, but very overpriced. The food is okay, but it has little to do with real Italian cuisine — for example, the carbonara was made with cream. If you’re not expecting authentic Italian food, it’s fine. Service was quite slow, though we did come during a busy hour.
Null N — Google review
Had lunch in this restaurant, service was good, treated everyone as expected, nice location BUT using frozen dough for the pizza is a no-go for me. The quality of the toppings was aligned with the price but frozen dough! Damn it. You can check the photos. I understand it is faster and more convenient but... I can't
Gabriel G — Google review
I love this place. It's exactly what you expect it to be. Italian vibes. Good, unpretentious pizza, and lovely atmosphere.
Alan C — Google review
Great place and very good quality food! We ordered two pizzas and tortellini with homemade pesto sauce, that was incredible. Better pesto and pizzas only in Italy. For dessert we had tiramisu and it was divine. Best tiramisu I've ever had. Just the right quantity of sweetness, light and airy, it floats right in your mouth. Great service and very nice waiter that offered to take a photo of us. We were the first ones to arrive so we were served rather quickly, but people that came after didn't wait so long either.
Matilde S — Google review
Very nice service and great food!! Will come back!
Ina H — Google review
Disappointing experience. I ordered the vegetarian pizza. It arrived in a timely manner but the dough was extremely tough. It required much effort to cut through with a steak knife! It was so hard, you could hold the slice up and the pizza stood completely straight - hard as a plank! Then the centre was dripping in liquid. My amazing London local authentic Italian had previously said the pizza I had in Italy, (cos I also shared my experience of the rock hard pizza base). He said that happens when the dough hasn't been allowed to sit(rest)for the required time which results in the dough being tough! So, maybe this place also rushes the process. Anyways, I was told I couldn't have substitute topping as I didn't want lettuce(!) On my pizza. I've had rocket leaves but never lettuce as a topping. And asked if I could have mushrooms instead. Waiter said "no" substitutes. Not his rules but the boss'!! I was like ok. Remove the lettuce and charge me for the mushrooms. So when the bill arrived, I was surprised I wasn't charged for the mushroom toppings.

Restaurant
El Carel restaurant in Comillas offers a delightful dining experience with its delectable dishes. The artichokes and stuffed baby squid are particularly enjoyable. The portion sizes are generous, exceeding London standards. One dish per person would have sufficed given the ample serving sizes. The kitchen consistently produces mouthwatering plates, attracting a bustling crowd of diners. Unfortunately, securing outdoor seating proves challenging due to high demand. Nevertheless, the burrata and calamari impress with their flavorsome taste.
Fantastic lunch in Comillas, the artichokes were delicious, so we're the stuffed baby squid. The portions were on the big side (by London standards) so I think we could have had just one dish each, everyrhing coming out of the kitchen looked amazing though and this place was much busier than anywhere else, so if you're looking for a restaurant to come to on your trip to Comillas look no further!
Geoffrey B — Google review
This is the best restaurant in Comillas! We walked in on Saturday lunch time and had to wait a bit since the restaurant is fully booked. We ordered a drink at the bar and the waiters are super friendly who gave us the table in less than 5 mins waiting. The menu has a lot of options of meat and seafood and the drinks and wine have great selection. Will definitely come back to this restaurant again!
Sina H — Google review
Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Comillas if our lunch meal was anything to go by! We had an Octopus and Langoustine Salad starter followed by mains of Beef Entrecôte served with fried potatoes both were absolutely delicious We chose a nice, reasonably priced wine to accompany our meal We were fortunate to get seated immediately but within a few minutes people were being turned away so possibly booking in advance would be sensible to avoid disappointment! Would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant
Eric M — Google review
The restaurant’s own sign outside states that the kitchen opens at 20:00. At 19:55, I entered to ask if it was possible to have dinner. The first person told me, “Only in 15 minutes.” The second person, visibly annoyed that I had arrived “too early,” claimed that all tables were reserved and that I couldn’t dine there. Yet, at 21:00, I saw people being welcomed inside without any issue. A simple gesture, offering us a drink while we waited, would have made all the difference.
Anja D — Google review
Very enjoyable lunch. Excellent quality ingredients and very well prepared by the restaurant. Highly recommended on your way to visit El Capricho by Gaudi.
Neale T — Google review
This was one of the best diner experiences in Spain!! We had to wait for 30 minutes for a table (without reservation) but it was more than worth it! As starters we have chosen the more than delicious artichokes with blue cheese & anchovis and the scallops with seaweed. As main dish the cochinello (suggling pig) with pear in red wine was incredibly tasty. And finally the desserts (cheesecake with exotic fruits and the yoghurt with strawberries) and the friendly staff made the delicious diner complete! It is a pity that we have to leave Comillas, otherwise we would have come back tomorrow😉
Ivonne B — Google review
A lovely dinner for four - the local cheese plate was fabulous! Great service, great wine, great food - best meal we had in Comillas.
Jennifer L — Google review
Food was so good, we ordered rabas, the lemon sauce was amazing, tuna tataki, which in my opinion needed more rock and roll, rabo de toro, super tasty, and panacota, so not leave this place without trying it out. Everything accompanied by a Ramon Bilbao wine! Service was just ok

Restaurante Gurea offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of local wines and delicious dishes. The polite and attentive staff provide good service even during busy times. Visitors can savor the recommended Bonito in tomato sauce or the mountain stew, both highly praised by patrons. The menu also includes options for vegetarians. Guests have enjoyed the fair prices, authentic food, and warm hospitality at this charming restaurant. Additionally, the proprietor's personal touch adds to the overall enjoyable atmosphere of this establishment.
Loved this restaurant! The decor was inviting, the service exceptional and the food was marvelous. Stopped for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Sumptuous cheese tray, excellent wine and tasty mussels. Wish we had planned dinner there as opposed to just lunch. Very nice people.

Fab u lous. Cachopo highly recommended. Great service from everyone. Friendly welcome and recommendations. Popular but professional. Glad we managed to get in.
Paul S — Google review
This place has some good dishes like Sardine (sardinas) and a few others. However, some dishes are very mediocre like salads or other fish. The fish we got was a bit burned with hard crust that was uneatable. Salad had few lettuce, tomatoes like hard like apples and plenty of onions. Fried potatoes are very soggy full of oil. The service is just ok. In overall prices do not justify the quality of the dishes at this place.
Toro B — Google review
Was so nice to be able to enjoy a meal here - we had the mountain stew ( a must try if you are in the area), along with both mussels and a warm mushroom and cod salad with pimentos. Honestly this was one of the better meals we have had in our travels through Spain. And the village is astounding!!
Tom P — Google review
Turned up on a busy Saturday lunch time without a booking but received a friendly welcome and managed to find a table for 2 outside. Waiter was very good at explaining the menu to us in English. Selected a bottle of white wine, squid rings to start, seabass for 2 main and local dessert Sobaos cake with coffee to follow. All were excellent. The seabass was cooked and seasoned perfectly and very tasty. All staff seemed professional and helpful. Highly recommended.
Trevor F — Google review
Very friendly restaurant with great food and lovely staff. Laura, the head of house, was very accommodating and found us space even though the restaurant was really busy. The fish selection was really impressive and we chose the local catch which was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Amazing surprise in Comillas, make a reservation! Local cheese plate is delicious, and the Callos were the best that I’ve eaten. However, the Star is the house specialty: Fresh Codfish w home made tomato sauce (riquísimo). All the best for Gurea’s team for many years, thanks for a great service!

La Terrazuca is a charming spot that offers stunning views over the square, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a meal. With its trendy vibe, this local bar-restaurant serves up a delightful menu filled with fresh, local produce. Guests have praised the friendly and attentive staff who are eager to help you navigate the offerings, even suggesting portion sizes to avoid overordering.
Much recommended restaurant with Rabas, Toasts, Nachos or the other Spanish specialities. Beautiful view to the old town centre.

Very disappointed. Unfriendly staff . Despite the restaurant being empty they seemed very disinterested. Fully appreciate that they must have had a very busy summer but if you don’t want to welcome customers then perhaps just close . Cod was ok but full of bones . Burger served with crisps !! Wine serving very stingy and clearly not measured . Very mean spirited place . I never complain but this is not what we usually experience in Spain which is lovely, friendly , generous and hospitable service . Would not recommend . Pretentious.
Lesley R — Google review
Friendly waiters. Average food. Unreasonable managers. My kids are a pain when we go to restaurants. They ask "Is the food coming?" every 20 seconds, so we often set a stopwatch and we bet on the time the food will take to arrive, in order to have them focused on something else. I explain it so you understand why I can be so specific in the coming info. We asked for 5 dishes: Guacamole came at 7:30 minutes. Croquetas at 8:30 min. Tempura at 14:00 min. Focaccia at 44:00 min. Cod after 49:00 min. I complaint to the manager about the very long wait, I find it unacceptable to wait 30 minutes with no food, and 49 min for a dish. He said that it was normal. Well, I am Spanish, I grew up going tapas, I have never experienced anything like that. He continued making excuses: "The kitchen is small" so I moved on to the following issue: On top of the delay, we asked for 2 bacalaos/cods and only one came. He offered to have the other one prepared, which I denied, I had waited far too long. To culminate the catastrophic visit, the cod/bacalao was not properly done, a large part of the fish was raw, so my wife then talked to the manager and informed him that she would not pay for raw fish. The manager was visibly annoyed and disappointed. We paid for the other 4 small dishes, left immediatelly and looked for something else to eat.
Benjamin P — Google review
Very nice location and view from the terrace. Nice staff and ok food. I would have liked to have more options, especially vegetarian ones.
Madalina B — Google review
Very good local bar restaurant. Excellent menu with loads of local produce. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff - even suggesting we had ordered too much! Good range of beers and wines.
Andrew V — Google review
Overpriced for mediocre food. Fish was below mediocre actually…
Yoel C — Google review
There must have been a change of staff since previous bad reviews, the people who served us could not have been more lovely, friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and light, the atmosphere was great, with a view over the square. Loved it.
Kate C — Google review
We had to wait over 1 hour for simple 4 dishes. In the end one of them didn't come at all. They charged us for it, though. We made a complaint. They should be more careful and take care of their guests. :(

El Remedio is a stylish restaurant located in Madrid, Spain, offering creative regional cuisine and an extensive selection of Spanish wines. Guests can choose to dine in the elegant lounge or at garden tables with stunning views of the sea. The restaurant is known for its high-quality dishes made from exquisite ingredients, such as rabas, ventresca de bonito, and tender fillet mignon. The attentive service provided by the staff adds to the overall exceptional dining experience.
Amazing food, great restaurant and great staff. We felt welcomed and looked after. It’s a stunning view from there and an inviting atmosphere. The food was fantastic, lots of innovative flavours. It’s a Michelin recommend restaurant several times and they deserve it. We would absolutely come back. :-)

Very nice service, amazing location. Fish - great. But salad of tomatoes and lettuce for 17 euro was disappointing - yes, good tomatoes, but felt overpriced for what you get. Also, we were charged for the bread PER PERSON without being told about it. I’m not going to break the bank for 3,60 euro, but it’s an unpleasant practice.
Elele — Google review
Outstanding experience at El Remedio. World class food, spectacular setting and impeccable treatment. From arriving to leaving, our experience was one of the best we have had in over 16 years of living in Spain. The setting, a promontory with some of the best views along the Cantabrian coastline, is the first thing that takes your breath away. And a sign of things to come. The food is original, inventive and very carefully thought through and plated. A mix of flavours and textured, all presented stylishly which added to the whole experience before we'd even tasted a mouthful. Everything we ate from starter to mains and dessert was fresh and delicious. I have to mention the staff. We met several members of the El Remedio team, each one of whom were unfailingly polite, courteous and professional. Whatever the secret sauce is of this place, they have got it absolutely spot on. And for what you get in terms of a dining experience, it is very reasonably priced. All in all, a wonderful afternoon. We'll be back!
Sean M — Google review
I felt the food was not up to the standards of a Michelin level restaurant. The rabo the toro was good but I expected a more interesting sauce than standard bbq. The ensaladilla rusa was just potatoes with mayo. The big disappointment was the fish. They had 5 different types, all cooked the same way, and accompanied by boiled potatoes.

We came back after four years and the place is still great. We were a group of six persons, so a reservation was a good idea. The service is quick and very friendly, even though we understand only a little bit of spanish. We took a salad, the bonito an the queso fondido as a starter, which all are very tasty. Five of us shared the Chuletón. That's a lot of fun, since it is roasted and cut in slices, and you get your own brasero on the table to finish the roasting. Deserts also are delicious. We definitely recommend this place! Keep on, you guys!

This is a place to try traditional home cooking. Follow their menu you will find an experience of returning home, even you are not Spanish. ;) The waiters are so nice and patient. When we heard the next table wanted to create a whole new menu, we were sorry for their lack of respect. But the waiters handled very well. I actually had doubts because some comments I read beforehand were saying their menu was overpriced and the food quality was not good, let me tell you with my experience now, those are total BS. Really nice burgers and the "Gulas and prawns pan" was quite nice as well. Dog friendly if staying in the outside terrace and one of the waiters even brought a pint of water for our dog. I would have given 5 stars if the waiter that we first asked had not shown such lack of interest on setting up a table for the 8 of us outside.

Stayed for 3 nights for a friend’s wedding in October with my husband and 3 other couples all next to each other ! Perfect location, just 5 minutes away from city center by walk. Owner Jose and wife adorable! We stayed in the first floor room, brand new! All rooms have amazing ocean view the absolute perfection. Cute bar and breakfast area. We recommend 100%!!!

Beautiful location by the beach. Nice rest stop for merienda . Service exceptional. Unfortunately rooms were uncomfortable. It took many hours for the bathroom to dry after taking showers. Our room felt like it was in the basement of a building that was damp and poorly ventilated.

Large room with excellent sea view, fridge, good size bathroom and shower. Everything was clean if a little worn but nothing to detract from the stay. Food in the restaurant was lovely. Crayfish and local red wine from a good selection. The lemon tart is their speciality and did not disappoint! Delicious. Breakfast was a buffet with all the usual selections and was very good. Diego on reception was particularly friendly and spoke excellent English. Easy walk to the centre of Comillas.

Excellent hotel we travelled here years ago and had a problem with our 4x4 . The kindest man the owner helped us where the AA insurance did not . We were made very welcome whilst staying in hotel for a break from our journey from Portugal . We are planning to pip in for a coffee soon as we will be in Comillas very soon next week .Looking forward to it .

A great location to experience Camillas - walking to beach and old town, with hotel parking adjacent to the hotel (though there was some confusion about whether there is an extra charge or not (presumably when they are busy they charge extra and when not they don't - check before booking). The rooms with "enclosed balcony" are great with extra table and chairs to enjoy the floor to ceiling glass views/ and comfortable beds and pillows. Only a couple of service quibbles - wifi is good but internet speed bad - no fibre connection here. Apartments rent nearby have fiber but hotels for some reason in northern Spain do not; and this one is no exception. If paying by credit card from non-euro country the owner wants you to use his bank to do the currency conversion and this ends up adding about 3-5% to your bill in your home currency depending on what your credit card bank charges (mine is free).

It is the best restaurant in town! We came here recommended by a friend and we weren’t disappointed at all. The fish and shellfish is delightful. You should come here to have lunch or dinner without a doubt. Enjoy!

great reception when arrived, room very big and airy, with fantastic views across the sea staff. Breakfast great, lovely bar,. The only downside for our particular room was a concrete staircase outside our window blocking some of the view. I would stay there again. the old town was five minutes walk away, there were plenty of shops and bar and some lovely walks up on the hills overlooking the sea. Three stars because the rooms were a bit dated looking, but overall great place to stay.

Casa Cofiño is a renowned restaurant known for its traditional dishes like cocido montañes and generous portions. It also features a bar-shop offering Cantabrian products such as cheeses, cured meats, and wines. Visitors have praised the quality of the food, reasonable prices, and diverse selection of wines and whiskies. While some mention that the staff could be more welcoming, others have stumbled upon this gem by chance and highly recommend it to fellow travelers.
Excellent product and fair price. We sat in the inside terrace and had a wonderful lunch. We had some smoked sardines with ceviche, which were really good, and then some cocido montañes and meatballs, plus a lovely cheescake. They have a good selection of wines and whiskies. The only thing that could be improved is the kindness of the staff, if they could smile every now and then would make the experience more pleasant. But worth a visit anyways.

We visited restaurant Cofiño in August 2021 and the experience was just AMAZING. From service to food quality I have not more to say than positive things. We ordered Cocido Montañés, Tomatoe and Cheese salad, Chuletón, meatballs, cheesecake and rice pudding. Every dish was better than the previous one. This place is a must if you visit Cantabria!

We found this place by accident, when we were riding our motorcycles from Bilbao to Potes, on May 23, 2019. We had stopped for fuel and asked the gentleman at the station where we could get some lunch. He suggested Cofino. What a find! The food, ambiance and price was amazing. I've recommended it to several other riders that watch my YouTube channel Bad Monkey Touring.

Went here for lunch with family and what a treat it was! If I lived in the area I would be there all the time! There is a wonderfully welcoming and cosy ambient as soon as you enter. You can just feel that everyone else is very content to be there too. A cosy front bar, nicely decorated and laid out dining room and outdoor seating too. The food we ate was really good and the staff were attentive, even when very busy, and so nice to chat to. They really added to the warmth of the place. They deserve every good review they get. Keep up the great work there and we will most definitely be back!

Good food, friendly service even to Americans like us who don’t speak Spanish. Lots of seating, we just walked in.

The atmosphere was great, maybe enhanced by the fact that we were the only table that day… But very welcoming, also the waiters. My highlights for this place would be: - Tomate with ventresca - Criollo - One of the rices We also ordered a big fish (Rodaballo) and unfortunately it was a bit too dry and not super tasty… The rabas would also be a pass for us. The octopus was OK.
Cristina M — Google review
I had the best steak ever one night, so we returned the next day hoping for another gastronomic treat, sadly the rice and scallops we decided on, was absolutely awful, as were the red prawns starter, which were similarly dreadful. So, I suggest order the meat dishes, and avoid the others, otherwise you may be very disappointed. To sum up, lovely garden and friendly service, but their chef needs a good talking to, in fact I am feeling quite sick after that meal. Hence my posting this. A pity as the owners are lovely people.
Henry B — Google review
A rather unfortunate experience for us, we will not repeat it! We found the food to be overpriced for what it was, 110e for 2 people (no alcohol), out of which 60e alone for one rather small machote fish that didn’t even weigh 1kg. The tomato with anchovies had very little anchovies, and the grilled sardines were on the dry side. The dishes came one by one, and we had to wait a lot in between, so the fries we ordered to eat with the fish were eaten on their own. Very slow, despite not being too crowded. Also, they tried to charge us for dessert we didn’t order. Not recommended!

Absolutely dreadful service. Even though there were 4-5 serving staff only one guy was allowed to take orders. The others were only allowed to serve food and remove plates. They couldn’t even take an order for a beer or water! Absolutely ridiculous. In our case the bad reviews did not materlise. Good food, well cooked, plenty of it and not oily. Food is cheap but the quality is below average. The eacalopines came with meet of low quality. I ate many good eacalopines in many places this summer, those ones were the only ones I didn't like. Arroz negro was OK'ish. Waiters were friendly though. If you have expectations of good food, go somewhere else.

I am giving this ONE star because I cannot put ZERO stars. Some people say the service in Spain is not good, but in this place it was seriously HORRIBLE. Avoid if your not Spanish!! We sat down for lunch and having chosen our food waited to be served. Caught the eye of the waiter three times. Meanwhile 2 Spanish couples came and sat down and were served immediately before us whilst we continued to be ignored so we got up and walked out. Went to a lovely restaurant up the road called la Perla negra that had a far better menu and we were served immediately.
Alison H — Google review
Not the best restaurant to eat in. Maybe because it was February and there isn't many tourists but you'd still would expect your food to be properly hot. We all ordered a menu, and my friend and I got the paella as a starter and for both of us, it was microwave reheated. It was boiling on the outside and cold in the center of the plate. The flavour wasn't great either and the shrimp were overcooked. Same story for the next dish, but it wasn't as bad as the paella. The location is great. You can eat while looking at the beach, but it is overpriced for what it is, and 4e more expensive than the one on the other side of the carpark. Really disappointing.

The white wine had a different price written on the wall and in our check it was 0.5€ more. When I asked the waitress, she explained it had a different price outside than inside. Seemed like a “deal for tourists”. The worst experience in north of Spain. This is not what a traditional place is like. We recommend avoiding this place
Vasile H — Google review
I feel the reviews may be a little unfair. The waitress was friendly and efficient, the view over the port is nice but not stunning but overall it was okay. Definitely more expensive for a beer than in other bars, including those nearer the beach, a bit silly really as we would happily have gone there again but instead chose a bar with the same beer, bigger glasses and 80c per beer cheaper.

Nestled at the edge of town, Restaurante El Galeón De Rubarcena is a hidden gem that locals rave about. With an inviting atmosphere and quick, attentive service, it’s the perfect spot for a delightful meal. The restaurant offers an affordable daily set menu that showcases regional recipes, often featuring fresh vegetables sourced from their own garden when in season. Diners can enjoy traditional dishes like anchovies and scallops while soaking in the unique ambiance.
Good quality for the price! We enjoyed eating there several times during the summer. The result was always surprising: a good value for the price (we went for the daily set menu, which was very affordable). In my short experience, the weirder the name dish, the tastier (this usually hints at being a regional recipe). Moreover, I noticed that there is a vegetable patch besides the restaurant, so I asked, and guess what? Many of the vegs come from there, when in season. You may also find local fish from the village fishmonger (which has its own fishing boat), depending on the day. As regards meat, I’m not very keen on eating meat myself, but some of the other diners commented that it was pleasant as well. So I reckon that it must be up to the standards of Cantabrian beef. I almost forgot to mention that there were some hand-made desserts (nothing fancy, but they did the trick) and, lastly but not least, the wine house was not bad at all (we checked the winery, and it turns out that it is from Haro, a place where not even a young wine can be disagreeable). All in all, I await with great anticipation to be in town again. Incidentally, I discovered that you can check their website to see what’s on the menu (they change it every day, but don’t check it too early because it might be the one from the previous day!)

The bartender was very welcoming and the anchovies and scallops were quite good, but the atmosphere was unusual. I felt very out of place for the first time in a restaurant on the Camino del Norte. My very poor Spanish is likely to blame. Good prices, fast service.

Taberna La Maroma is a vibrant eatery that offers a casual dining experience with an emphasis on small plates and delicious hamburgers. Known for its mouthwatering sardines and unforgettable scallops, this spot often buzzes with patrons eager to enjoy its culinary delights. The staff, particularly Aaron, are incredibly attentive and accommodating; they swiftly relocated diners during an unexpected storm while maintaining excellent service.
Staff was awesome, we were a large group and chose to eat outside. Setup the tables and were sitting when a huge storm hit us out of nowhere. Our server Aaron and others immediately relocated our group, including the tables to a roofed area still outside (we're crazy enough to want to be outside regardless of the weather). Aaron continued taking our orders and bringing our food and drinks. As I said, everything was awesome, food was delicious, the price was great, and the service was unbeatable.

Stay away from this place - it is amateur run. We sat down around 3pm to have lunch. The waiters kept avoiding us for 15 min. Then when we pushed to get the menus, the waiter told us they have take care of multiple tables and then close the kitchen. They don’t want to take us. Then I mentioned to the waiter to check since we have a 3 year old with us and we didn’t have time to look for another place. But he came back saying no. This place is run by a bunch of kids. Stay away from this place.
Ghassan S — Google review
After we sat down, we ordered a drink (which we got), but we didn’t get a menu like all of the other guests who sat down did. When we tried to ask the server for one he completely ignored us and didn’t look at our table for at least 20 minutes, every time he passed by he looked straight ahead, even after we called out to him. All the tables around us got frequent attention. Another waiter finally noticed us, but we didn’t want to risk being ignored again if we needed anything, so we payed and left.
Sara T — Google review
The food is good but the atmosphere isn't very friendly. The waiter that served us wasn't very pleasant. Another big issue was the televisions that all Spanish bars insist on having. We thought this one wasn't too bad with only one TV at the entrance, but then halfway through our meal, they lower a huge projector a meter away from our table and turn it on, with the sound coming out from two large speakers equally close to us. Making for a rather disturbing ambiance.

We had a delicious local cheese in tempura, perfectly tender artichokes and melt-in-the-mouth beef cheeks in a filo parcel. It also has a lovely, calm atmosphere and the owners are welcoming and happy to share details about the origins of their first-class local produce. They deserve every success.

Tucked away in the rolling hills just outside Comillas, this place feels like a well-kept secret. The food is great and the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the staff couldn’t have been more gracious. My family and I left with full stomachs and big smiles — a visit we’ll remember fondly.

(Translated by Google) Absolutely spectacular. This Cantabrian restaurant is a true marvel. The food is delicious, with traditional flavors that are surprisingly fresh and high-quality, using local produce. We were a group of 10 and tried everything, and everything was spectacular. The care and attention to detail in every dish is evident. The service was friendly and approachable, always attentive and natural. The place also has a very cozy atmosphere, with simple but tasteful decor, and beautiful views if you sit on the outdoor patio. They were also kind enough to sell us some Santoña anchovies to take home as a souvenir. It's the kind of place you want to return to, not only for the food, but for how good they make you feel. A truly wonderful experience. (Original) Absolutamente espectacular. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional: warm, friendly, and with an attention to detail that was so appreciated. They made us feel right at home. The food was simply exquisite. Each dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with quality ingredients. The waiter's recommendations were also a surefire hit—you could tell he knew the produce well and knew how to guide us according to our tastes. It's a bit pricey, yes, but it definitely makes us want to return. For the food, for the setting, but above all, for the personal and professional service that makes all the difference. Cada plato estaba lleno de sabor, bien presentado y con productos de calidad. Además, las recomendaciones del camarero fueron todo un acierto —se notaba que conocía bien el producto y sabía orientar según nuestros gustos. (Translated by Google) We went for a stroll around Comillas since we hadn't been there in a while, and while looking for a quick bite to eat, we found this cafe in one of the squares. The place was quiet, sunny, and quite crowded. The service was fast, the prices were very good, the service was friendly, and everything was very good. A simple, uncomplicated menu where you can find tapas, sandwiches, a set menu, mixed dishes, and where you could see people were enjoying what they were eating. We tried some excellent squid rings and some potatoes with three sauces (ali-oli, salsa rosa, and mayonnaise). The first two sauces were so delicious and so full of flavor that we hadn't had in a long time. They reminded us of the beginnings of these sauces, which became fashionable many years ago. The dessert was a very creamy ice cream cone that could be eaten slowly and without rushing to let it melt with a good cup of coffee. We will definitely return. (Translated by Google) One of the two waitresses they have for the entire bar was very rude and abrupt, with a certain contempt for people, especially children. It took a while to serve us, while other tables that arrived later were already being served. The menu on the table was simply the daily menu, and the larger menu didn't serve what was on offer. It was a few empty croquettes, which if you're lucky you get some filling, and very poor-quality hamburger patty. The atmosphere was quite good; you could talk, but there were a few people there. But I wouldn't recommend it. (Original) Una de las dos camareras que tienen para todo el bar, ha sido muy borde y seca, tiene cierto deprecio hacia la gente, en especial a los niños. Restaurante La Aldea provides exceptional service from its talented bartenders who offer detailed explanations of their dishes. They cater to various dietary restrictions with menus that accommodate all types of food intolerances. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The quality of the food is excellent, surpassing expectations with delightful desserts such as the oven-baked cheesecake. A visit to this restaurant guarantees an exquisite meal made with fresh, locally caught fish at reasonable prices.
Exquisite food. They had local freshly caught fish at reasonable prices. My pijota fish was genuinely fresh, simply prepared, and perfectly cooked. Everything that landed at the table was delicious. That includes the dessert and coffee. Fantastic meal.
Syk H — Google review
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ORDER. La Aldea seem to know how to prepare traditional food: both the zamburiñas and the arroz-con-leche cake were pretty good. However, the two more creative dishes that we had didn't make much sense. First, the salmon-and-avocado timbale looked a bit like a salmon tartare, but the waiter recommended us to mix it with the accompanying salad—which transformed it into an undefinable mishmash with a penetrating honey-mustard taste. Second, we had prawns with a mango curry, Chinese noodles and Basmati rice. The prawns were well cooked, but the combination with the other ingredients tasted like something you could get at any Indian place. Given these deficiencies, it's unclear to me why La Aldea is consistently ranked among the best restaurants in Comillas.

We had dinner at a restaurant called Kimera, which we were told it’s the same restaurant as Aldea. We ordered a T-bone steak. It was cooked in the kitchen to medium rare, brought to the table, then re-cooked on a heated stone then served to the plate - at this point, it’s almost fully cooked. The meat was extremely fatty. The heated stone only stays hot for a short while and needs to be changed every 10-15min, which was inconvenient. Dish came with some fries. Menu was over priced and had poor availability: steak was 1.2kg at €90, many items were not available including tomato salad, croquettes - which were quite shocking for a Spanish restaurant. The English menu looked completely different to Spanish version. Maybe we just had the misfortune to order the wrong item, compared to many other reviews, or maybe this is a different restaurant. Overall was an okay experience, but quite average to the Spanish standard.

Restaurante La Lonja is a charming spot that offers an unforgettable dining experience, especially when you opt for the terrace seating. This cozy establishment boasts breathtaking views of the ocean, where you can enjoy the soothing sounds of waves crashing against the rocks. The menu primarily features fresh fish dishes that are not only delicious but also reasonably priced. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance due to its popularity.
We were a family of 5 had lunch and were sitted outside in the terrace. The restaurant is relatively small and it is better to reserve in advance. Views from the restaurant are speechless, you can see and hear the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks. Food mainly fish is fresh and tastes excellent Prices are fair or not expensive. But what makes the difference is the service ran by the dream team with Lucia and Laura. They are very responsive always with a smile and close to the Client. (Translated by Google) The service and attention were very good, but the prices have gone up since the change of owners. A beer is €3.90. You're on the terrace overlooking the sea, but it's expensive for locals. Tourists don't come the rest of the year, and with those prices, locals won't come. It depends on the focus of the business, of course, and who they're trying to target. I hope they do well in the winter. The girl insisted that the beer was fresher on every table, which is normal; they make more profit. (Original) El trato muy correcto y la atención, pero han subido los precios al cambiar de dueños. Bar Restaurante Filipinas is a welcoming establishment that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are affordable, and the menu boasts a wide variety of options. However, some patrons have noted that the waitstaff tends to clear plates quickly after diners finish their meals. Despite this, the restroom facilities are clean albeit slightly outdated. Even if arriving late when the kitchen is closed, customers can still enjoy a plate of delectable cheese and bread accompanied by refreshing cider.
The food was delicious, but what was the most shocking was just how huge the portions were. We ordered a full tortilla but the waiter advised us to choose the half one. It was still absolutely massive. The service was amazing and we definitely will come again.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Comillas, Taberna Sidrería Trescaños is a delightful spot to satisfy your hunger after exploring the charming streets. Even before lunch officially began, this inviting restaurant was already welcoming guests with open arms. On a beautiful sunny day, I opted for an outdoor table where my furry friend Bulldog could join me too. The experience started off perfectly with two well-poured glasses of white wine that set the tone for our meal.
One of the best lunches we had in a 10 trip of Spain covering Asturias, driving to San Sebastian and down through Rioja to Madrid. The daily lunch menu - 3 course - was amazing. Fresh grilled lubina (sea bass) was fantastic as was the arroz negro.

Feeling hungry after walking through charming Comillas we decided to have some lunch at this restaurant. We were a bit early for lunch service, but this place was already open for business. It was a lovely sunny day, so we took a table outside, where our Bulldog was welcome as well. Ordered two glasses of white wine (was well poured), a plate of meatballs with fries, stuffed chilis and a plate of grilled shrimp (a la plancha). Staff/owner was very friendly. The meatballs were a nice choice, very heavy and savoury. Went well with the creamy sauce and the hot and crispy fries. The stuffed chilis were fantastic. More creamy sauce, nice filling. Great item. The Shrimp a la plancha were some of the best shrimp we've had in spain. Fresh and oh so sweet in taste. A wonderful choice. All in all a nice place to eat. Prices really fair, portions big. A nice, authentic place for lunch or dinner.

It’s stormy, wet and windy today and this restaurante was one of only a few still open so we tried it. Hoped it had a menu del dia, but it didn’t, so the high prices of seafood was a bit daunting to us (on our 6th week of travels). But the restaurant waiter suggested a mixed salad (huge and big enough for 2), for starters, with sardines (€8) and squid (€10) to follow - they were delicious, and it was all very filling. The decor is luxury seaside, with tablecloths and napkins so that was great, and the view of the rollers piling in, crashing on the rocks opposite. View was spoilt by electricity wires across the front. All good with beers for €34

TABERNA LA BOLERA in Comillas is a vibrant bar that captures the essence of Spanish life, making it an ideal spot for enjoying tapas and drinks. While the service can be a bit rushed, especially during busy times, the lively atmosphere more than compensates for any minor inconveniences. The bar area offers friendly attention and delicious warm food, while outdoor seating provides lovely views of the square—though it may require some patience when ordering.
Don't visit this place if you are used to high end service with a smile, they only smile after a few visits! The service is speedy, sometimes too speedy as the waitress is literally running around with a constant panic in her eyes. Be honest, you did not came here to view the service, you came for a beer or some late food, it is exactly what you get, for a reasonable price. So ignore the service, enjoy the view, it's lively and fun, you are part of a Spanish part of life.

The place has a very nice location with a view of the square, the service was quick and the food was good. I would maybe consider the price a bit too high for the taste quality of the Rabas for example, but overall i was happy with the food and would recommend.

Tasty, speedy lunch. Not sure why this place has a low review and many complaints. Perhaps it depends on time of year you visit. We enjoyed Bravas, chorizo a la Sidra and a tomato salad. It came out very quickly. All tasted excellent and the service was friendly. There’s no frills and certainly the portions are a little smaller that I’ve had in other less touristy places in Cantabria but it’s all that you need for a quick lunch

The location is perfect in Comillas downtown; however the food is not as good as expected and overpriced. The staff is pretty nice and friendly. The bathroom can be improved with better cleanness.

Great tapas place for lunch and dinner, in nice surroundings and with friendly staff. Ask for their Morcilla de Burgos, Pimentos Padron and Croquetas de Jamon, you can get both half and full portions.

We arrived late on a rainy evening, pepe welcomed us with a smile, and we ordered some food. Chorizo a la sidra was delicious and warmed us up. Simple but good.

Whilst the location is very nice the service was indifferent at best. However it was our ración that was the problem. We paid €12 for Anchoas Cantabrico. The plate consisted of nine anchovies from a jar with one olive. We have eaten hundreds of plates of food in Spain and this is by far the worst value dish we have had. Extremely disappointing and we regret going there.

Place is great if you go to the bar, friendly attention and warm food. However if you sit outside, get ready to wait a very long time to order your food and likewise to get it. Seems like they have too little servers for the amount of people. However not all is bad because when you do get the food, it’s good quality.

Restaurante La Pérgola Comillas is a delightful dining spot that offers an unforgettable experience with stunning views of the beach. Although it can get busy, patrons find that it's worth the wait for such delectable dishes.
The best place to eat in Comillas 100%!! The setting is great with amazing views of the beach, the food is amazing: highly recommend the burgers, especially the smash burgers. Great atmosphere for young people especially. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Cant recommend more!

We were there for dinner and ordered the Calamari, the cuttlefish, the scallops, sardines and the croquettes. They were all very yummy and fresh but the scallops were a little burnt. The waiters were very kind but don’t speak much English. The view by the ocean was very nice but the music was kind of loud. Would recommend!

After exploring Gaudi's works, I headed to Fuente Real for a delightful lunch. The experience was fantastic, with the opportunity to savor some local dishes such as Cociado Montanes (a bean stew) and Merluza (hake and fries). The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were remarkable. Despite feeling full, I couldn't resist trying their delectable lemon mousse and rice pudding desserts. Every dish presented itself beautifully.
We went for lunch after visiting Gaudi and it was fabulous. We had the local bean stew (Cociado Montanes) and the hake and fries (Merluza) - the fish was so fresh. Even though we were full we then had the lemon mousse and the rice pudding , both delicious. All the dishes we saw looked great. We had a beer and a sparkling water and the bill was only €30. The waiter was really friendly and attentive even though he was very busy . Great local unpretentious restaurant . Wish we had time to go back again. Highly recommend.

Recommended to avoid! Service very poor, unresponsive waiter, don't bring ordered dishes, ignores when is convinent to him - i.e. we ask for a bill 4 times. Food was very greasy, at highest I could score "below average".

(Translated by Google) My father recommended it to us, and we went twice, both of which we enjoyed. The bar is small and clean, a traditional bar with a small terrace. Outside, they don't reserve, but you have to let them know and wait a bit, and they'll let you know when they're ready. We didn't have to wait long. The waitresses were very friendly, and the service was good and fairly quick. The food was delicious, with a short menu, but they didn't need anything else. The mountain stew was delicious, the razor clams were spectacular, the escalope was very good, as was the tuna, and the homemade chicken croquettes were truly homemade, as is rarely the case anywhere. Very, very good value for money and quantity. When we return to Comillas, we will definitely return.

We were looking for a pizza place next city over and I saw this on google. I saw not the so high ratings but my kids were hungry and decided to go. I’m So glad I did. I thought the pizza was very good. We had 2 5 cheese pizzas and 2 margarita pizzas. We also had 2 white pasta and 1 with red sauce, caprese salad, and a beer. All that we ordered was delicious. We didn’t leave one crust uneaten. One thing I have learned from reading reviews here is sometimes you just got to take a chance and try it for yourself. The waitress didn’t speak English but I used google translate and that worked well. We were the 1st people there once it opened and by the time we left it was all packed. Its location is also awesome. So many cute places around!

Good pizza, nice slow lunch. Nothing to complain about 🤗 We had a Mamma Mia pizza and a tricolore salad with extra pesto. Prices seem reasonable to us, not sure why people complain so much. There’s a lot of inflation and restaurants are hit hard.

I went to this restaurant there is a short time during my vacation. A manager who welcomed us very badly, not smiling and even unfriendly. We threw the card on the table. We threw the plate in figure to serve us. The manager puts us bread at the table - we had not asked we thought it was included, but surprise !! charged 60 cents to the bill! Adding that of course we threw at the table with a "gracias" released into the air with a beautiful indifference. Very upset at the end of the meal. In short flee this place!

La Cuestuca, a restaurant that stands out due to its availability on Wednesdays and bustling atmosphere, attracts both Spanish locals and tourists. The establishment is meticulously maintained, offering a diverse menu comprising mainly local dishes such as tapas and main courses. Managed by a diligent daughter, the restaurant exudes an ambiance of being family-run. Customers can choose from delightful options like squid, mixed salad, and Cod with tomato while enjoying a bottle of regional wine.
We thoroughly enjoyed the meal! Friendly server. Cachopo was so crispy, made with tender meat. Huge portion with ample cheese! Our salad was extremely delicious with fresh ingredients! I highly recommend eating here!

Came here for lunch as this was the only place open on a Wednesday at 2pm after looking at 5 others with high ratings on google… It was surprisingly busy with Spanish and locals which is normally a good sign. The place is very clean and well looked after and the menu full of local food as tapas and main meals. It seems like a family run place with the daughter running everything front of house. We chose squid, mixed salad and then Cod with tomato plus a bottle of local wine. Both the quality and quantity was excellent and the bill only came to 45€ so Greta value for money. You need to know your Spanish as no English is spoken. Fully recommend

What a great find!!! We stopped here for lunch and had a gorgeous fish dish, bonito, cooked in tomato sauce. It was heavenly!! Our lovely server was on her own and overworked but was so friendly and pleasant. We ate on the terrace which was so pleasant. The only drawback was that the noise was shrill, as the people and families talking indoors echoed really loudly to where we were sitting. But overall, great lunch.

At first, everything was normal. When we paid by credit card, the waitress saw that we chose US dollars for payment, she immediately put on a very angry face and said, "You are in Spain, you must use euros, or the bank will deduct my money!" We were all shocked by hearing that! I tried to explain that the bank would not deduct more money from her side just becoz we chose dollars . However, the young didn’t want to listen to my explanation. She kept emphasizing with a very arrogant attitude, implying that you tourists should know that you are in Spain! You are in Spain Must pay in euros! Then she ran back aggressively to confirm with her boss. One minute later she came back to tell us she was sorry for her mistake.…. Very unpleasant experience…we have lived in Spain for many years this is the first time we meet someone who shows such arrogance and rude attitude to clients. Mark.

Had an unfortunate experience here, where the waitress was uncomfortable that we were sat at a table of four when our additional 2 guests hadn't arrived yet. I think something was lost in communication, as she seemed very upset with us and wouldn't let us start ordering for our table until we moved to a table of 2. We eventually moved to a table of 2, and when our extra 2 guests arrived, we squeezed them on to our table. I understand the need for all tables to be full, but the way we were spoken to felt rude and unwelcoming. We thought the food was OK but not great. Overall, the experience with the waitress soured the occasion.

Restaurante Las Caseras is a charming spot where the owner's hospitality shines through. Despite arriving before opening hours, the accommodating owner allowed for an early order. The cocido montanesa and solomillo con patatas were both satisfying, and the service was excellent. The clean restaurant offers a menu del dia that includes wine/cider/water and bread with three courses for a reasonable price. Visitors also recommend trying the "pasharan" liquor at the end of the meal.
Obliging and cheerful owner, clean restaurant, food tasted great and was well presented. We went as a family of 4 and chose the menu del dia for €16 each including wine/cider/water and bread and three courses. We left happy. Try a shot of "pasharan" liquor to end for €2 each.

We were very lucky to find a table as we got there around 1 pm and it seemed like everyone else arrived at the same time. They were very busy but we got a table outside which was perfect. The waiter was telling us we had to wait some 20 minutes but he never forgot about us and was quite chatty and nice. We ordered from a menú del día and the food was decent. The paella was so-so as it often it when they pre-prep it for a menú del día and the anchovies were not many but really good. My sardines were good the meat not the greatest, but overall it's alright if you're hungry and want to get something simple. The price is right.
Sandra ( — Google review
I don’t even know where to start. Maybe with the “menu,” which looked like it had been printed on a home printer that ran out of ink in 2006. The food? Let’s just say I’ve had more flavor from chewing on a pencil. My “steak” was a grey slab of sadness, and the Fries looked like it had been left outside in the sun for a week. By the end of the meal, I just wanted to go home and apologize to my stomach for what I’d done to it. If this place was the last restaurant on earth, I’d learn to cook grass.

Croquetas and patatas were alright however the escalope was dry and chewy, very oily and the batter was soggy and sliding off the meat, it was very bad. The staff was friendly but when trying to make room on the table one of the waiters very messily combined food onto one plate which spilled over and he picked it up with his hands to put them back on the plate.

Today we were looking for a meal on a rather cool October day before leaving town, and although the kitchen was not yet open, the very kind owner allowed us to order food early. We sat outside and had cocido montanesa and solomillo con patatas. Both were very satisfying and the service was wonderful. I'm surprised to see the reviews others have written, it couldn't be more different than our experience! May be because it was a Tuesday afternoon in the off season, but we still appreciated the hospitality!

Wanted to have lunch at the neighbouring restaurant Aldea that had a good rating but it was full, so thought I’d try this one. They offered a bottle of wine (!!) free along with the menu Del Dia (menu of the day) for 17 euros. However the wine was not drinkable at all .. I saw that most tables had not managed to have even a glass .. I returned it and ordered a white Verdejo that was ok. The food was very poor - the only bad meal I have had in all of Spain in the last 2 1/2 weeks. I would suggest you avoid this restaurant. Sad to post this review but hopefully this will help others

Restaurante Gorbea offers an exquisite dining experience with meticulously crafted dishes, high-quality ingredients, and impeccable presentation. The foie gras, snails, cod, ribeye steak were all exceptional and cooked to perfection. The desserts were also outstanding, particularly the cheesecake which was absolutely irresistible. The service provided at this restaurant is top-notch as well. The dining room is impeccably maintained and furnished for utmost comfort.
Excellent restaurant within a small local hotel. Very spacious bar terrace and downstairs salon. The food was delicious with very fresh ingredients. We had fish and meat and both were fantastic. The service was also excellent and our waiter Juan Carlos was very professional and friendly. Highly recommended

Best food we have had so far in our 10 day trip in Spain - better than some meals at Paradors. We had the grilled octopus and the hake - super tender and delicious sauce. The cheesecake is so soft and creamy- the best we have had in our lives! The staff were very warm and courteous and allowed us to stay past their 4pm closing time. Two thumbs up! 👍👍

(Translated by Google) One of the best restaurants in Comillas. Fresh products very well treated: the pan-fried clams are delicious, as is the seafood rice. The best way to end the meal is with the cheesecake: simply spectacular, one of the best I've ever had (and I've eaten quite a few). The waiter who was with us throughout the meal was very friendly, but the waitress who served us at the end seemed like she was throwing us out (she brought us the bill without having asked).

(Translated by Google) The waiters are very professional, helpful, and friendly. They have a huge terrace where you can sit for a drink or dinner. The nachos are very simple, and we ordered a cheese board. We were surprised when they brought it to our table and we saw it. The menu could have perfectly titled it: MERCADONA CHEESE BOARD. Among the items included were Brie, toasted Manchego, etc., and three other types of low-quality cheeses, like cream cheese. We left almost the entire cheese board. I honestly don't think they're high-quality cheeses to be included on a restaurant menu, compared to the artisanal cheeses we have in Cantabria. (Translated by Google) Yesterday we visited Bar Casablanca in Comillas and we were quite disappointed. They sat us on the terrace despite there being space available inside, which was uncomfortable with the unstable weather. We were three diners; Two of us opted for the "Menu of the Day" (€19 per person) and one for a combined plate. The quality of the food was very basic, without any notable elements and with dishes that lacked flavor and seemed to be prepared without care. We consider the price excessive for the quality offered. In summary, Bar Casablanca did not meet our expectations due to the lack of attention to detail in both service and food. We hope they improve in the future. (Original) Ayer visitamos el Bar Casablanca en Comillas y salimos bastante decepcionados. (Translated by Google) It has a back terrace with six tables and benches. It's quiet if you go early. They have set menus for 20 euros, which are expensive, but the portions are good. The mixed salad was a bit sparse. The mountain stew was delicious, with its Burgos blood sausage. The meatballs were beef-like, too strong for my taste, and the sauce was very good. The sea bass wasn't bad at all. We also ordered a chicken breast combo, in my opinion the best dish: juicy chicken breast with homemade potatoes. Dessert, which can't be exchanged for coffee, included ice cream that was a cone. Overall, it's not bad; I think it's a recommendable option.

(Translated by Google) Congratulations because the waitress, or owner (I'm not sure), is the champion of rudeness, and that should be celebrated. I had four servings and drinks with my family. The ham croquettes were never even remotely cooked, the nuggets were unspeakable, and the squid had been in the fryer for twice as long as recommended. The bravas were very good, that's true. But, although the food wasn't to my liking, the worst thing was the repeated and very rude prohibition against allowing people who hadn't consumed anything to go to the bathroom. I don't know if it's legal or not, but the waitress's politeness is conspicuous by its absence.

Extremely rude, the waiter even raised his voice at us. The place was empty and we were a group of four, two of us had their laptops out. When ordering the waitress behind the counter did not look at me and i had to ask her for a glass and ice for the 5€ (!!!) drink i had ordered. Btw, we did consume a lot and maybe they just missed that it is 2023 and the world is a more digital place. Instead of being at least friendly about it they were rude to the extent of one waiter yelling at us and basically calling my friend a criminal. If they don’t want electronic devices in the cafe, a (handwritten) note or a sign outside would already do the trick.

When we came here a number of years ago, we were blown away by the restaurant. It was something that influenced our return to the campsite. However, the set menu( although seemingly good value) mainly offered battered food( hake/ pork etc). There was no real 'Spanish' food and certainly no regional specialities! The main menu consisted of baguettes/ hamburgers/ pizzas/ battered chicken or 1/2 roast chicken...we ordered the squid to start to share...it was nothing like the photo of a previous reviewer...just a large plate of fried battered bits of squid. With such an uninteresting main course choice, we then ordered the 1/2 chicken( which was as it said on the tin but was relatively dry). We had booked our table but were given a place in the bar ( with dogs allowed!!!)rather than the restaurant( they do not seem to use the restaurant! All in all a very disappointing evening which with a bottle of the cheapest Rioja wine cost 54 euros! We will not return!

Kimera Gastro is a delightful place to relax in the charming cobbled street that surrounds it. The quality of the food is exceptional, thanks to the skillful seasoning, thoughtful accompaniments, and impeccable cooking techniques. The attentive and friendly service provided by Juan and Cristina adds a special touch to the dining experience.
Most amazing dinner I’ve ever had in Spain. So kind and caring and attentive. The chef is beyond what you could ever think. Just trust them! If you truly are a foodie or like special food then allow them to guide you and you will not regret it. The chef Julian (sorry if I spelled wrong) is kind, humble, and a mastermind! The associate, Juan, is caring and charismatic. Our waitress, Lana, was attentive and patient. I would eat their seasonal salad every day for the rest of my life and their fresh fish and desserts are unexplainable. Very reasonable price for the care, attentiveness, freshness, and quality. (The pictures of the desserts and food already had a bite taken out of them because we were too eager!). We also had a bottle of wine recommended by them and house tea. The price is more than worth it. 100/100

Food is delicious, we ordered the tomato salad, which was very good, the pulpo, and croquettes, everything was delicious and the staff are very nice. The plates are not the basic traditional Spanish dishes, everything has a little twist ( I think they mentioned the chef is French) but it actually what made the food here very delicious and very special. Not the cheapest place, we paid 83 euros for above 3 plate, 2 coffees, 2 beers and 1 dessert. But totally worth it!
Ruba F — Google review
A wonderful spot on days when you can sit out in the cobbled street that surrounds. Any place that serves a whole page of local wild mushroom dishes has my interest. The variety of fish and meat is unbelievable and according to market and veg is seasonal. So far so good, but seasoning, accompaniments and perfect cooking elevate everything to uncommonly good. The genuinely welcoming and interested personal treatment of Juan and Cristina elevate it to great. PS The wine list has some expensive examples but is relatively a brief list with some wonderful bottles at the lower end. We loved this Ribiera.

Lovely small restaurant in Comillas. We had a fantastic meal whilst walking the Camino. Loved the personal touch from the who came out and told you what fresh fish was available that night. And then proceeded to show you. We had the prawns, French onion soup, baked cod (bacalao) and the red mullet (salmonete). It was all really tasty. The wine, which was chosen for us by the owner, was fantastic. The Albariño was Davide. The vino tinto - El Regajal 2021, was from Madrid and was lovely. All in all, a lovely evening with good company and great food.

Restaurant
Abba Mia Restaurant by Abba Comillas offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views, particularly from its charming terrace. Located slightly away from the bustling center of Comillas, this spacious and comfortable venue features a diverse menu that highlights traditional Cantabrian cuisine. Guests can indulge in delectable starters like Santona anchovies and Km0 burrata salad, followed by mouthwatering mains such as lamb and hake in green sauce.
(Translated by Google) The restaurant has a nice view. We ask for tickets; Santoña anchovies, the Km0 burrata salad, both delicious dishes. Seconds we ask; the lamb and the hake with green sauce, delicious. The staff very friendly and attentive.

(Translated by Google) We stayed in the apartments (which were wonderful, by the way) for a few days, and we weren't sure where to have dinner, so we decided to try the restaurant! We loved it. They have a children's menu with homemade croquettes, potatoes, and breaded chicken breast. We ordered squid, the house patatas bravas, and for starters, hake in green sauce and pork cheeks with truffled parmentier. Everything was delicious, but the pork cheeks were a real highlight; you have to try them! Kudos to those chefs, we loved them! We'll definitely be back, both to the apartments and the restaurant. Thanks for everything.

(Translated by Google) We came to see El Capricho. It was an improvised place to eat beforehand, and we left very happy. The service was very welcoming and attentive, the food was delicious (especially the pork cheeks, one of the best I've ever had), and the atmosphere was very relaxed. If we end up here at another casino, we'll definitely come back. Thank you very much! Muchas gracias!

(Translated by Google) Spectacular views, it's wonderful to eat so comfortably. The food is very, very good. But the most remarkable thing was the service. The girl who served us was super nice and gave us 10-point recommendations. Incredible in every way.

(Translated by Google) Place somewhat away from the center of Comillas with very good views. Especially the terrace is a very nice place. The lounge is spacious and comfortable and the service is especially attentive and friendly. There is a varied menu with some typical Cantabrian dishes, very good meats and fish. Wine list not very extensive but correct.

Cute new cafe run by two younger brothers. Very friendly and positive atmosphere. Had a good coffee on the terrace outside. Vegan milk for cappuccino available.

We had to wait for 40 minutes for the burgers to come and the restaurant never brought out fries However, once the burgers did come they were really good and the bread was fresh and delicious

Very stylish café with low prices and nice personnel :)

Very unprofessional and bad establishment. I only wanted a simple coffee but after waiting for 10min at least at the bar to be served and asked the waiter politely but only to watch the 3-4 waiters doing everything but taking an order from us. Will not go back and I do not recommend this place to anyone. It wasn’t even that busy.
