We were staying in the hotel which I had chosen due to the food, we booked in for a meal one evening and I cannot talk highly enough about it. Every course was so well considered and thoroughly delicious and with a tale about the island to tell. This was possibly the best meal I've ever had and I'd love to come and try other seasons. The wine pairings were perfect, complimentary flavours and just the right amount of wine.

The Kook Atelier restaurant was amazing. The food was sourced locally as much as possible and the menu is seasonal. They won’t serve anything that is not in season or that needs to be imported from a far. We did the wine pairing which was also amazing with even Dutch and Eastern European wines. Highly recommend to reserve one night to dine here.

Sometimes you just get lucky! My last several Michelin experiences have been overpriced and mediocre. We went to the island of Texel for the weekend. At 16:00 on a Sunday, we decided to search something for dinner. We found op Oost thx to searching Google maps. I was shocked that on this little island was a Green Michelin star restaurant. I called to see if they could accommodate us on short notice. I have a severe fish and shellfish allergy. After confirming with the kitchen, we were booked for 18:00. I was highly skeptical that we could have a good experience in middle of the island in a tiny village. From the moment we arrived, they proved me wrong. What followed for the next 2 hours was one of the best meals of my life with absolutely perfect service from both the front and back of the house. The first course came and without me having to say anything again, my wife was served a fish dish and I was served an equivalent non fish dish. Each additional course was perfect. The hotel was sold out due to a wedding so the restaurant had space because of it. We were beyond lucky. If you’re visiting Texel, maybe you can get lucky too because op Oost is not to be missed! A final big thank you to the staff for taking perfect care of us!!!!

we had the “Salty Sunday” meal with some great wines then spent the night and had breakfast. everything was excellent and would highly recommend a stay and meal here! we only wish we could have spent more time to have another meal but we will definitely be returning at some point!

Very nice delicious spot. Fresh bread available. We have ordered eggs, tosti and limonade. Big portions, served very quick even in rush hour. People really doing their best managing amount of tourists. I would only suggest adding less oil in food, it is really heavy to digest:)

If you’re looking for coffee to perfection with amazing pastries and a happy atmosphere, this is the place! This kase croissant (cheese croissant) was the best I’ve had in the World! Not exaggerating! The picture looks tasty but a picture cannot tell a thousand words to describe this croissant, you’ll need to taste it! Very friendly waitress!

Nice vibe, super friendly staff. Not a wide menu, but we both had a delicious lunch and pastry. Mole Eggs doesn't sound like much - delicious and original bowl with a variety of tastes and textures. Plenty of fresh pastries and cakes. Coffee is superb!

THE BEST sourdough experience in NL. Being a sourdough baker myself, I am super happy to find here. The pastries are also nice. Only that something went wrong with the preparation of milk for coffee but I guess they were busy.

This is amazing bakery! Amazing bread, focaccia and croissants. We took a pork BBQ focaccia and it was so juicy and delicious be careful as biting it the juices going to flow all owed your hands). The kings day specialty croissants and cardamom brioche buns were finger liking delicious 🧡

We went here there times during our holiday. First time lunch and drinks, second time lunch, drinks and dessert. All the food is really good with vegetarian and vegan options. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. We need to go back to try the other menu items!

we had an early dinner. the place is wel situated but you better go by car. it has a big parking but it is paid. the staff are great. food is served pretty fast and drink selection is nice. i had a nice time. i recommend this place 100%

Kaap Noord has vegan options, but not much. The oesterzwam kroketjes on brown bread were a classic good lunch. Perfect for a group with people with a mixed diet. Staff is friendly and the view is great ;)

We have been regular guests at this restaurant for many years. We have always been warmly welcomed with our dogs. We have always found the restaurant to be particularly dog-friendly. Since this year, only one dog per adult is allowed. Apparently, this is due to space constraints (it has never been crowded, and the number of tables hasn't changed either). It's a shame that the restaurant is becoming increasingly unfriendly to dogs (and their owners)… :-( Next days we‘re warmly welcome with our 3 dogs in the outside area. So I switched 2 stars into 4 ;-)

With the beautiful view from the terrace and good food it's a brilliant place to have a summer dinner.

Very nicely located beach Restaurant, quite big. Large terras and also a good amount of tables inside. Windslielded and even some place with rain cover for the occasional shower. We enjoyed the vega snach platter and nachos. Great to see that there is a choice for vegetarians and even a few vegan options. Coffee was good to

We went here twice and were both times happy with our visit. First night we had to wait for an hour to get inside because of the long line of people. We tried 2 types of fish and both tasted fresh and great. Next day we went for lunch (luckily no waiting this time). We tried two types of toasts which were both fantastic. My favorite being the smoked salmon. Staff is very nice and friendly even though they were quite busy with serving all the crowd. Tip: in high season make a reservation if you don’t like to wait.

Texelburger was the best burger of my life. What was that sauce/salsa/chutney? It was delicious.

Very nice restaurant. We were there in April. No reservations. But we came early, around 17:30. The child ordered a fries with frikandel. My husband and I ordered a carpaccio salad and a burger with feta. And for dessert - Dame Blanche. It was incredibly tasty. And smiling, friendly staff. I highly recommend this place.

It's one of the most disappointing experiences in my life. You expect it to be like all the reviews, but it's not. The service is slow and so up to style, I was feeling like being in the wrong to place my order. We were a group of 12 with 6 kids, and the food came with like 10 minutes separation... if you have kids, you know it's a disaster... So overall, the drinks were ok, the food is heated convenience, and service is on the lower end. You gonna pay for the location and the view, which is great but that it... if you up to it, go ahead.

Was a very nice experience to sit there. We enjoyed the food and service the first time. Incredible how some dishes can make the difference in this island that we come back to each year. We went a second time but sadly the service, food quality and price didn't really match each other this time. We ordered a hamburger where the bun was very thick, hard from outside and soft from inside because it stayed too long on the juice of the meat. Loaded fries were nice as a portion but not much loaded. They only had truffle mayo and a little parmesan cheese on top which it reached only the first layer of the fries. I would have chosen to give a side sauce knowing that the mayo didn't reach the rest of the potatoes or at least give the choice. We don't mind standing up and going to the bar to ask for our bill but that's not guest friendly. Still this is a place we want to come back to when we visit next year.

This is the best beach en the best beach reastaurant in Texel. Having experience with beach hospitality, you won't find a better place like this on the Island. Overall restaurant standerds at beach restaurants on Texel are very average. Paal 21 is the best. Also this beach is patrolled by lifeguards.

The Staff was very nice ! There is no English translation on the menu. 16,90€ for a burger that didn’t taste at all, and without fries or salad for this price - seemed quite expensive for not much.

Nice place with a nice view, good food and drinks. We had some snacks as a lunch, the Flammkuchen with goatcheese (I recommend this), bitterballen and Kippeling.

The food of Eiland keuken is very nice. Only pity the instructions for take away to warm up at home is not very clea, no ingredient explaination so we just have to guess what we ordered Despite that, the taste is good, would order again.

This Bed&Breakfast is exellent. Not only the rooms are very nice but also the restaurant. Here i had a tasteful breakfast wich i liked very much. Bread and croissants 100% fresh and stil warm. This chef knows how it works.

A special fine dining experience. The combination of flavours and textures were all very delicate, a much welcome change in a country where a lot of restaurants just throw as many spices as possible in the food. The recipes were perfect to showcase the quality of the local ingredients. I would suggest to include the tartare in your menu because it is excellent.

We opted for the chef’s signature menu with wine pairing, and every dish impressed us: beautifully presented, creative, and absolutely delicious. The wine selection was particularly interesting, focusing on local and lesser-known labels. Each pairing complemented the food perfectly, making the experience both surprising and memorable. The only drawback was the service of the wines. Over the course of the evening, our drinks were served by three different staff members, each with varying levels of knowledge about what they were pouring. At an upscale restaurant, I would expect all staff involved in wine service to be equally well-versed in the pairings, so that the storytelling around the wines matches the level of the food. Overall, though, it was a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend, especially for those looking to explore a creative menu paired with distinctive wines.

Excellent dinner with local products, we had the yellowtail, seabass and the lamb. It was delicious!

It’s the second time we stay in Hotel Texel and dine in restaurant Gusta. We are very happy, the quality remains high in all aspects, the food and atmosphere is great and the service excellent! Especially the meat and wines/pairings are great. We will definetely come again in our next visit to Texel!

We had a lovely lunch. We sat inside and we’re a party of seven (three generations). The food was exceptional. We had lobster bisque, oysters, fresh fish, lobster and claims. The service was warm and attentive. Best seafood on Texel.

The wintergarden is hot (don’t sit there), we asked the waiter at the very beginning to speed up the process, but we sat there for 1.5 hrs when the main arrived. This is when we had to leave. People who arrived after us and also ordered the mussels got it ahead of us. The food and the place is more wanna be French haut cuisine, than excellent. Still got charged for everything and we got the mussels to go. It was a joke.

Overall a very good experience. Price is also very reasonable for a multi course meal prepared with thought! We had to rush out to catch the ferry but would’ve loved to stay longer for the full experience

Enjoyed a lovely meal at 't Pakhuus. Not our first choice as it's quite pricey but since all other restaurants in Oudeschilde stop serving food early (before 8pm) this was our only option. Service was faultless and the vegetarian option was adapted to substitute a main ingredient. The food was delicious and it was good to see a couple of local beers from Texel on the menu too. Thank you for rescuing our evening so wonderfully!

We go here every time we visit Texel. The pan cakes are amazing and everything can be served gluten free. Additionally, there is a nice playground for the kids while waiting for their meals.

45 euros for a 0.5 beer a coke and a coffee, two enormous pancakes with bacon two types of cheese and appel. Food and drinks came within 15 minutes. Fantastic location and extremely child friendly with a large playground next to the kid family section. A must try!

Really enjoyable lunch here! Especially recommend the local Texel pannekoeken. I enjoyed the spinach, walnut, goat‘s cheese and honey one; all local products. Vegetarian options here. I went to this restaurant for a late lunch. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is free. I chose a "Jutter pancake" with apple, mushrooms, bell pepper, gherkin, ham, and cheese.

Okay Dutch pancakes. They serve a big variety of pancakes, including several special ones from the Texel region. I didn't enjoy their pancake dough because it was too moist. Staff is friendly, but service can be improved by being more attentive.

During the lockdown, we ordered twice take out, it's nice. In August 2021 finally there is a chance to have the dinner there, it's really good. Nice dishes, not over seasoning, every bite you can taste the flavour of the ingredients itself. Nice wine pairing and lots of choice for whiskey. In June 2022 we visited BOSQ again, this time the experience menu really surprised us because it's really tasty! Especially the slow marinated and roasted Anges beef with BBQ sauce, that's the highlight of the dinner! Also, the pop corn ice cream as dessert is also a surprise. Right away we booked the next Wednesday visit, can't wait to try other dishes soon.

Amazing experience in the middle of nothing. Texel is a small island, a peaceful tourist place, and you can't expect such good restaurants in this kind of places. Menu is not in english, it's hard to understand what is written if you don't speak Dutch; anyway, the waiter was so kind to go through the entire menu, and he explained ingredient by ingredient every course. Gourmet meals, prices are above average, price performance was extremely good. Silence and peace were very appreciated. If you like to eat well while travelling, you can't miss this place.

A very good restaurant on the edge of forest and farmland. The terrace provided nice views and was sufficiently sheltered from the wind. The food was great; so was the bottle of cava. Some interesting Asian influences, like this Okonomiyaki.

Pretentious. Some pretty good food and some failed efforts of good food. Some waiters more capable than others. When my brother in law spilled some water, one waiter had an obviously dirty cloth to lap it up, touching my cutlery in the process. He then picked it up to put it back next to my plate. Argh. Pro: North sea crab, the ossehaas, calf's cheek with ducks liver, shrimp croquettes. A great view in summer. Good wines. Against: one of the waiters. The iberico that had absolutely no taste. And the dessert with green "whatever" and some kind of chocolate crumbs Another pro: great Irish coffee. Third time, still great views, great wines, food had its ups and downs, but mostly ups. As before, it is not an amazing Michelin experience, but definitely one of the better restaurants on the island. Looking forward visiting a fourth time.

For a delightful starter, we couldn't resist trying their cheesecake, and it was a heavenly treat. The creamy texture and delicious flavor made it a perfect accompaniment to our beverages. Moving on to the brunch menu, we opted for the tantalizing avocado toasts paired with a refreshing glass of orange juice. The combination of creamy avocado spread on crunchy toast was a match made in culinary heaven. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and added a zesty touch to the meal. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail were evident in every bite. In summary, our visit to Lokaal 16 was a true delight. The cozy and chill environment played a significant role in creating a memorable experience. We would wholeheartedly rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Good coffee and lunch, but very grumpy owner! Not service focussed at all. From the moment we stepped in this lunchroom, the owner was grumpy. This place looks nice and is totally different than the average tourist trap. However, the owner should learn about hospitality and the customer first concept. I wanted to pay at the cashier, I waited for over 10 min. While the owner saw me waiting and was in a conversation with a sales rep. As I was not served, I asked if I could pay. The owner did not like to be disturbed. In hospitality it's customer first and sales rep second. You saw me waiting and could have asked your co-worker to assist me.

Super cute Café, the carrot cake was amazing, unfortunately the matcha was not as good as it looks. But as a Matcha enjoyer I am used to it. I recommend getting better matcha powder, a chasen and sifting it before adding water. Still an amazing cafe and I will be back. To try the Kokos Latte.😊😁

Great cafe/lunch spot with just a teensy bit of a hipstery vibe. Temporarily out of salads (!), but what they do have more than makes up for it. The soup of the day (bell pepper) and the sandwiches (goat cheese/walnuts/rucola and pastrami, see pictures) were just perfect. Also, it's probably the only place in Den Burg where you can have a savoury breakfast, so extra points for that.

The fried egg on the burger tasted quite great. But the fries (on the side) I could have done without. Also a bit surprised as you claim om your website; using fresh and local products. Delicious food and big portions. The location is very nice and the restaurent decor as well. It is however very warm inside due to the pizza oven. The calamari portion was huge and the sauce was tasty. The pizzas are good as well.

One of the best restaurant experience we have had in the Netherlands for 3 years. Located in the heart of Tessel island in the ancient dutch building (former farm house perhaps) with straw roof with amazing garden/terrace. We were late for our reservation, administrator still managed to welcome us to the terrace. Sad we were in hurry to be in time for the ferry, otherwise would spend more time! The food is nice - full Italian focus. We took vegi sup, pizza and pasta. All went perfectly.

That's not a sausage tent! It's a wonderful Mediterranean restaurant serving delicious food in a great atmosphere. Wonderful place.

I have zero patience nor talent to cook, therefore all of the appreciation for those who have and create a delicious night that’s a bit more than just “going out for dinner”. Loved the stories told by Anneke linked to the dishes. And i am not a fan of soup but the soto betawi i completely finished. Both Anneke and her husband are very hospitable although it may not seem like it if one enters the venue when the culinary journey had already begun and you cannot travel along. For the next time, make that reservation, it’s worth it!

It was an extraordinary experience. Anneke and Menno made us feel like being at home. Food was super tasty and fresh. Each course was made with love and so special. The way flavours came together was everytime a surprise, rounded up by selfmade sambal even better. Yes some Germans like spicy food... :-) Thanks for this special evening!

Everything I ate and drank during this evening was extraordinary delicious. If you ever have the chance to taste this authentic, well balanced and wonderful served food, don't miss it! Regarding Restaurant Bistro Texels Goud, the minimum order costs of 25 euros are above my intended budget for 1 person, the delivery costs of 3.50 euros can be called acceptable. Second time here, but this time during the Wind Festival. There was quite a long queue to get in, since the cafe opposite was closed. Once inside though, the menu was great and the ambiance was pleasant.

Paal 17 has vegan options, but not much. The loaded chili sin carne fries were good! Good for a group with people with a mixed diet. Staff is friendly and the view is great ;)

I have been in the first floor with a bigger group. Wasn't expecting this class of service and food. We had a five course menue with many different platters. Everything was perfectly fresh and tasty. High quality food, nice drinks, good wines, great sunset view. 100% recommended

Overpriced and overall not worth it. Staff was friendly but atmosphere was basic. The Long Island iced tea was not good, too sweet and did not taste good. The food was just bad. The vegan loaded fries had a guacamole and beans that tasted cold and bad. For the price, I expected better overall quality.

I tried both Beach Pavilion 17 and Club 17 one after the other, and both were well thought out and executed – except for the service and the food. They started out with high expectations, but then crashed in terms of food quality and staff, which is a real shame. They should plan a fresh start here in terms of personnel.

A really nice restaurant, second time visiting! They are dog friendly which is a bonus. We did sit outside but in the heat, we were placed next to the glass screen, this was not a good place to sit, the heat radiated from the glad which made it even hotter, was a little more uncomfortable. The staff were really nice and friendly and good with recommendations. The food was really nice, we had: -Caesar salad: that was really nice looking and the flavour was good! -Muscles: they were cooked so well and the flavour was so good, there is a very big portion as well. Compliments to the chef! -Texel beer battered fish and chips: the flavour was very nice, crispy batter and a soft melting fish, this was a lovely dish! -Mixed grill: this was a lot smaller than expected per price, the meat was really good with the flavour, you did also have to order extra fries that was not expected. Overall a good place to eat and drink, nice location, pet friendly and would visit again.

We went in for cocktails and desert before lunch time. It was relatively quiet. One of four people didn't receive their food. The ice coffee has relatively high sugar content compared to other places in Netherlands. Couldn't drink it tough I enjoy sweets generally. We received no napkins either. Had to use our own. Decorations and atmosphere are nice, but when service is lacking the experience turns a bit sour.

Lots of asparagus and very tasteful food. A nice atmosphere, friendly service and a very reasonable price. It was amazingly kid-friendly. Next to the bathroom is a corner to play with a toys, kitchen and a touch screen for 4+ folks. Our son also received a cuddly toy and a coloring page. On top of that there's a kid's-only menu card.

A nice restaurant with good service. The food was very good. We had the ravioli and the bread as openers, the baked brie with vegetables and the cheesecake for desert. Everything was delicious.

The lady with blue blouse yesterday i think she was one of the owners we have reservations with my husband for our 10 years wedding anniversary. We welcome us with an open heart with a big smile and we surprised because she put ballon and little heart in our table right away we love it there i order the grill meat it was delicious our starter is onion soup I hate onion soup but this one is good . My grill meat is heel lekker and when we order our dessert they surprised us a burning candles i think is very special that they do that i hope all restaurant is the same if the customer had celebration they celebrate too i live in Amsterdam for 10 years mostly dutch waiter is rude or just don't care i think is different when you live in the island i also noticed that they allowed dog inside not in Amsterdam so if you go to texel this is the restaurant for you the food is 5 stars and also the service

We ordered schnitzel thinking it is beef. We didn’t like it at all. When we told our waitress she said its pork. The menu doesn’t state it is pork. Neither our waitress warned us when we were ordering.

Nicest food and service we had in Texel. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food was good, both seafood/fish and meat were well prepared. We're definitely coming back for more next time. They are very pet friendly, dogs are welcome both outside and inside which is amazing and always a plus on my book.

I recently visited this restaurant on Texel Island in the Netherlands for dinner on a Friday night. Having made a reservation in advance, we were pleased to find our table already prepared upon arrival. The reception we received was warm and welcoming, setting a positive tone for the evening. As we settled in, we were promptly served with two beers and handed menus in English, which was greatly appreciated. The initial bar area had a lively ambiance with a wide selection of tap beers available. At the far end of the bar, there was a charming lighthouse that served as the restaurant area, adding a unique touch to the setting. For our meal, we opted for the marinated and smoked mix of spare ribs and the lamb stew. The spare ribs were decent but fell short of the exceptional quality praised by other reviewers. I would personally rate them at 3 stars. On the other hand, the lamb stew was enjoyable, with tender meat and pleasing flavors, deserving of 4 stars. To conclude our dining experience, we indulged in a delightful strawberry cheesecake for dessert, which I would easily give a well-deserved 5-star rating. Overall, the gastronomic experience at this restaurant was average. While the food didn't surpass expectations, the exceptional service provided by the staff and the pleasant vibe of the place elevated the overall experience.

My personal highlight during my stay on Texel. Dark ambient, amazing food, super friendly, young and quick staff, and overall a great time. As you can see in the pictures, food was plenty and the spare ribs rank really high among my favourites ever. But it was the tomato soup that really won my heart. The staff seems to be very happy to chat and get along with their costumers which was really nice to see. If I ever return to Texel, this will be the place to eat!

Great, warm atmosphere in this place, very good selection of beers and the man behind the bar was friendly and suggested some good beers too! Too bad we got there too late for the kitchen to still be open, but we enjoyed the time spent there. No reason not to go!

A Tavern style restaurant in a shopping area (you have to know it :-)) in Den Burg Texel which gives you the homey feeling on the spot. The service is excellent very friendly and passionate to give you a great evening. We had the cheese fondue this time with some surprising dips ideas. Make sure you reserve a table on time, a lot of locals know their existence!

Food was good, but simply just not excellent. I took both ribs (smoked/bbq) a bit on the dry side. And the sauces were a bit standard. My partner took the fish (I think halibut) same a bit dryish missing a sauce altogether. Very good degrated/boning. Service was exquisite, amicable and friendly also attentive. The front of the house is very atmospheric and well thought out or lived. The rear part feels a bit like an after thought and has very disappointing and below mediocre cheap Hollywood movie themed art. I’m not asking for Texel themed art, there is enough of that. Just better thought out and skilled art. I’m thinking it’s a temporary gallery type thing so hopefully next time something new and interesting?

A must go! Amazing food for a fair price and a great service! We arrived late, but we were welcomed anyway. The chicken was amazing, and the service was warm, funny, and sincere. I would suggest going to anyone. 5+ start because the tiramisù was something else, one of the best we've had in a restaurant.

Our last evening of the summer holidays at the island of Texel could be better for the food. This was absolutely lovely. Kip eigenwijs and cauliflower bites were delicious. Service was very friendly and the owner was happy to hear that the pork cheeks were delicious. Thanks for the perfect evening

Lovely place with good food. We ordered a salad with pulled chicken, half of a chicken with mango sauce, fries and croquettes. Portions were very big, so for us it would be easy to share just one half of a chicken for 2 adults. Staff members were very nice and friendly. Prices are just average for the Netherlands, but in relation to the taste and the portion size it’s better than average. Highly recommend the place.

An absolute must visit on Texel. The food is so tasty, get a kippeling with some beers, it will be worth it The chicken is crispy and fresh, the fries are properly made with a sprinkle of spices and the salad is flavourful and diverse. Portions are of a good size and not too expensive

The best chicken restaurant in the world. I am still wondering how they made the chicken breast so tasty!!! In other restaurants, breast/chicken meat can be very tasteless, but Pollo is different. Not only that, they also put a lot of effort into the food presentation. All of the foods look so pretty and delicious, and of course, they all are tasty! The owner and the staff are very friendly. We are delighted about everything. If you are in Texel and currently looking for a restaurant to eat, feel free to walking into Pollo. I totally recommend it! 💖🫶🏼

Great chicken! We enjoyed it very much.

The food is nice. Staff was friendly. Chicken was well seasoned and tender. But I was disappointed the meat isn't actually barbequed. I was expecting a nice open flame bbq and the flavour that comes from it but they obviously cook it electric rotisseries. Still would recommend it.

Amazing experience. In my point of view, if you go to a restaurant like this you are looking for something else than eating.... You should be ready for a sensorial experience and enjoy it to the full. Bij Jef exceded our expectations. The food was great, but this is almost taken for granted, the creative presentation, the combination of flavors and (I recommend the option) the wine pairing all was fabulous. From the apetisers to the dessert. Both the chef and all his crew did a wonderful job a made us feel comfy. Although high priced It is worth It. All in all is a true sensorial experience.

Better than anything else on the island. What else can I say, I normally never take a menu when I don't know what I'll get, but it this case it didn't matter because it is all delicious. And I didn't bother looking properly at their large selection of wines and went straight for the recommendations. The wines where something completely different than I would normally choose, but they where a great complement to the dishes. After our glorious food I met Jef for the first time in decades and he is still a lovely smiling man and he has an obvious passion for his craft. A well deserved Michelin star. I should book again.

In one word: fantastic! Everything, from the ambiance, to the service, to the food, to the wine pairing, to the amuse-bouches, to the homemade bread, to the friandises, to the hotelroom, to breakfast the next morning. A Michelin star worthy experience, without a doubt. The Local Meets Cosmopolitan menu with wine pairing is a true treat. Every single dish is delicious, perfectly seasoned, prepared to perfection. It is obvious that Jef and his kitchen brigade are passionate about food. The hostess and the service are super friendly and attentive. The sommelier understands the trade; this was one of the best wine pairings we have ever experienced. We also went for the wine upgrade with the lamb, a stunning red, definitely worth it. We booked a package with overnight stay and breakfast, so after this feast it was just one flight of stairs leading to a lovely, super comfy and neat hotel room. Breakfast was press repeat: tasty dishes, yummy juices, a glass of something sparkling for the road. Sweet and savoury, flawless. All in all, top-notch. Totally worth it and worth repeating; we’ll be back!

Last summer I had the pleasure to enjoy a diner at Bij Jef together with my partner. We started the evening on the comfy patio with amazing little amuse-bouches and a very warm welcome. We then moved to a table inside, the atmosphere was great, modern and open yet warm and private. The room features a semi open kitchen showing a glimpse into the wel oiled machine working to deliver amazing quality food. A very knowledgable but not arrogant sommelier explained all the different wines that accompanied our courses. And the courses, o my, wonder after wonder arrived on the table, flavour explosions and theatrical art on a plate combined. The tempi of the evening were thought out to perfection, some courses were served quickly after each-other, others gave you time to relax and reflect, only to have your attention brought back with something that surprised and delighted us. Every course was accompanied by small freshly baked different pieces of bread, some salty, some sweet, all perfect. The maître d' was amazing and service impeccable, not snobbish and distant but warm and inviting. I've had the best restaurant experience of my life here. And I will come back to Texel, just to eat at Bij Jef again. Loved it!

One star Michelin restaurant that can't work with dietary requests. No way to prepare food without shellfish or pork "That will be vegetarian". I've never heard of this in such an establishment. Any Michelin star restaurant we've visited has so far been able to accommodate dietary requests (even in Spain off all places), but for 1.100 Euro for a weekend this restaurant is above all that... What a shame.

Be ready to spend 4 hours for the 7 course menu. Be ready that half glass of milk for your child costs 6 euro and welcoming cocktails are not for free. Prices are higher than in other 1-star Michelin restaurants we have ever been.

A few days have passed since we had dinner here, and I am still daydreaming about the Tikka Masala.

Place is quite relaxing as it is close to the beach and the view is nice. Service was young and fast but the food and drinks were a little bit too expensive in price performance ratio. Small plates and drinks and not as expected. For example there was a cheesecake on top of carrot cake stated in menu for 5,70 EUR and we only received a cheesecake with buiskuit bottom (-->usual cheesecake🤷🏼). So ok in taste but not for that price. I was a little bit disappointed because the location could be more attractive if the food was more or a little bit less expensive.

It is a nice place for drinks & snacks but that’s it. In the evening it turns into not really working well factory where you are just one of many customers. Got my dish without dressing, fries looked like leftovers and had to go myself to the counter to pay… enjoy daytime, think twice going for dinner

The rim of the glass was partially broken and the glass was very scratched. The food was average. The tables were neglected and old. The view is beautiful, the staff is friendly.

This place is a nice place ad the beach. Super nice terras and Nice people how work there. We had dinner and watched the sundown. It was beautiful to sit on the terras and wait for the sun to go down. The food was oke. Not bad but also not super good. I had the Jamaican curry.

Avoid unless you like eating old stale and dry fish cooked with old oil! The kibbeling was truly awful & the kaas toasty tasted like cardboard. Up there with the worst food we've ever had in our lives

Great location, nicely decorated interiors and beautiful views of the beach! Overall seemed a little overpriced! Staff is nice! Some of them don’t speak English well but mostly they are friendly and try to help! Waiting time could be a little long when it’s busy. We had one of their risottos for lunch, which was fine but not the best risotto we’ve ever had!

Where are the dunes in front of the beach?? It somehow lost its charme due to the removal of the dunes and that you can now see the people at the beach… Fries where amazing tho.

It's a small restaurant but it has charm. Many regular customers visit them when they are in Texel. Decent price for the dishes, good quality and service. Not easy to book because of the space is limited, but we're lucky. The value definitely equal the price 👍👍👍

Reservation absolutely required! Don't go here if you don't have time. It's small and cozy and there is one very friendly waiter doing all the work. The menu is on a chalkboard that moves from table to table and she explained all the meals. Since the menu changes, my photos might not be what you'll have. There's a waiting time between the courses but it's absolutely worth it! I had to stop myself to take a picture.

We had probably the best dinner on the island at this restaurant - it is equipped like a living room with great taste. Food is great quality and for an excellence price. Everything else should be experienced by you own. Living rooms are small, make sure to reserve.

Super friendly staff. My company tonight was vegetarian and they did not have anything on their menu, so the chef prepared a vegetarian option that made me envious, from.the looks alone. Tasted excellent as well. Bring some time as they do not rush between courses. Make sure you book a table as it can be very crowded. Their menu changes and is only available on a chalkboard. The owner took her time to translate the menu for us. If you get the opportunity, you should go there.

We walked about Alkmaar and came across this little restaurant. I had the Double Angus Bacon Burger and it was GREAT. Some people across from us had ribs and said they were great. Definitely would come back to this restaurant. The music was a little bit loud and could have been lower to create a better atmosphere

Meat & Co is a great restaurant. I had an entrecote and its meat was soft en tender. It didnt have too much fat and the stroganoff sauce it came with was great. Also the regular bread was great with 3 different dips. Also the prices were fair and not too high. If you are a meat lover try out this restaurant. Its worth it.

Visiting the very first fully vegan restaurant of Texel was a tasty experience. Their shared dining concept is perfect to try a variety of the Ottolenghi-inspired dishes on the menu. We were with a group of five so we got try try almost everything! As a group we were unanimous about our favourites: the kimchijeon pancakes, the witlof tarte tartin and the fried cauliflower. The coquilles made with oyster mushroom and the curry were great as well! Situated in the historical centre of Den Burg, the restaurant has a cosy and colourful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly as well! Highly recommended, also for groups with non-vegans.

What a remarkable place! We had tacos, hotdog and fries, all of them were DELICIOUS! I wish we had more time in the island to come back to try the other dishes.

A nice vegan restaurant. The portions are inconsistent (some are very small, others are ok) and you should budget 3 hours for a meal. It's rather expensive. But generally it was a pleasant experience and the staff was very friendly.

We came into this place almost by accident. We saw the menu outside and it looked yummy and with plenty of options for us (my partner is gluten-free and at this point we didn't notice it was a full vegan place!) We really loved everything we ate, with special mention to the glazed carrots 🥕 They were really good! The staff was also super friendly. It is definitely THE PLACE to go if you are in Texel and want to eat a delicious vegan / gluten free meal! If we go back to the island, we will definitely eat there again!

We came here, because we saw the reference to this restaurant at the partner location Paal12. The food is vegan and really amazing. We had the Kimchi Dog, the humus and the brownie for lunch. The restaurant has a super nice interior and the people there were absolutely friendly and attentive. I recommend a visit.

The food that they serve is of great quality they have something for everyone. They have a kids menu and things for people with allergies. The service is great and quick. Went there today with my wife and kids. The atmosphere was okay, and we were seated without much delay. I ordered fries, while my wife and kids went for some pancakes. Strangely, none of us were given any cutlery with our food — a small but annoying oversight. But things got worse. While eating my fries, I bit into one and immediately had an involuntary regurgitating reaction. The smell hit me instantly — and I’m not exaggerating when I say it smelled exactly like horse manure. I didn’t even bite all the way through — I just spat it out immediately. I asked my son to smell it, and without hesitation, the first thing he said was: “horse manure.” My wife also confirmed the smell — it was unmistakable. Let’s just say I didn’t finish the rest of my fries. I managed to isolate the fry that had the issue — all the others seemed totally fine. But obviously, that one piece ruined the whole experience. I took it to the man at the counter and asked him to smell it. To his credit, he did — and he agreed something was definitely off. I watched as he took it back to the kitchen, and both he and the cook inspected and smelled it. He returned a few minutes later saying they weren’t sure what it was. They checked the oil but couldn’t identify the issue. Fair enough — I appreciate the honesty. But the damage was already done. I can’t shake the fact that I was mid-meal, enjoying my food, and then all of a sudden I had the unmistakable taste and smell of something that resembled manure in my mouth. That’s an absolutely dreadful experience, and it completely ruined my appetite for the rest of the day. Honestly, I can't give this place many stars — even if everything else had been the best meal my family or I had ever eaten (which it wasn’t). That one awful fry was enough to throw the entire experience off. Imagine going to a restaurant and being served the best steak you’ve ever had, 10/10, but then they include a side that tastes and smells like something straight from a stable. What are you going to rate that restaurant? Exactly.

The first time we didn't think much of it; mistakes can happen. But then it happened a second time. The food is good, if you manage to get any. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes for them to take your drink order. Even when you can literally see the waiters doing nothing or chatting amongst eachother. Today we waited 40 full minutes before someone came to ask us if we had already ordered drinks. We were told they were closing this section of the terrace, but didn't ask us to move? So if anything it just made us feel not welcome. To add insult to injury since they were the ones who made us wait till they wanted to close the section to take our drink order. We were also told that it would be another 45 minute wait for pancakes? The place was nowhere near full and all the tables we could see already had had their food so the wait seemed rediculous. In the end i opted out of eating and just wanted a drink, my bf ordered an omelette sandwich. The damn sandwich came faster than our cola's?! In fact my bf was 3/4 of the way through his sandwich by the time a clearly annoyed waitress finally decided to slam down our drinks without even saying hello nevermind any aplologies for the close to full hour of our day we wasted just waiting as the servers were doing nothing. Us locals will definetly not be coming back for a 3rd time and I can't recommend anyone who values their time or likes feeling welcome to come here.

The „De Pannenkoekenvallei“ is a very nice restaurant, where very good food is served and the staff is very friendly. We‘ve been a party of 10 and had pancakes which had been very tasty. Prices are more than reasonable considering it‘s a holiday destination and orher restaurants in the area are way more extensive yet not any better. We can recommend this place and for sure will come back next time. Thanks to the owner and their friendly staff.

Cosey and very clean restaurant. We had fried fish "kibbeling". A large portion, home made and very good !My husband had bread with lambshoulder (local) that also was very tasty. I totally recommend this restaurant. Besides that a walk amongst the pretty center of this village is also recommendable!

The menu is relatively small, with a focus of local dishes, the servings are big, you will not leave this place hungry The look is a bit outdated and could use a refresher to make it a bit more modern / up to date

Beachclub Twaalf is definitely one of my favorite beachclubs on the island of Texel. A unique place with is own style and friendly staff. And delicious Choco Brownies! Highly recommend.

Hello. We came to this place and decided to seat outside. Then I went to check how restaurant looks inside and some not polite woman met me. She said I prohibit to see inside because of the privacy of guests seated inside. Absolutely strange situation and awful service this woman provided.

I don’t often review places but this pavilion was definitely beyond my expectations. Really lovely location but above all incredible food. Really gastronomically exquisite not just like any other beach bar where you just get fries and a burger. One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. This chef here is a master of flavor—every dish was thoughtfully designed and creative, with a global touch that pairs traditional seasonings with influences from South America and Asia. Super delicious. Yes, portions are small—for a family of three, we ordered 3 snacks, 4 small plates and 2 large plates as well as dessert. But the intense, focused flavors mean that you do need huge quantities—the technique and skill here is impressive. Do not miss the octopus or the quail—both exceptional. The interior space is beautifully designed—sit outside near the canal and enjoy vistas of this gorgeous town.

The wait staff offered us a table outside, even though we hadn't made a reservation, which we were very happy about. The quality of the food was excellent (see the two attached photos); if we were to claim otherwise, it would be untrue. The service, however, was not good; my wife received a dish she hadn't ordered. Furthermore, there were no napkins with the cutlery, and in the end, we had to wait 25 minutes for the dishes to be cleared away (after we drew attention to ourselves). We would have liked to order dessert if we'd had the chance... My wife and I asked the staff about it and received the following reply: "I've already cleared the dirty dishes, and I'm sorry, but we're busy today." If there aren't enough staff on a Friday, I, as a restaurateur, have to ensure that no additional guests are invited to the table without reservations. The HAVN is a very nice restaurant in a great location. We found that the portions were ridiculously tiny. We could have eaten our lunch in one mouthful. We do not eat a lot but this was so tiny for the cost of the bill . Really dissatisfied

The stars are for the location (beautiful view and stunning bike ride through the dunes) and the music (relaxing 80's 90's). Zero stars for the unwelcoming hostess, owner and staff. Food was below bare minimum standard. We each paid 22 euro for a snackbar level burger. A small portion of equally just-okay fries and salad comes with the burger. Small portions of each (especially considering the price), which we were surprised to learn were expected to share between us two. Chaotic despite not being busy. Maybe the staff was stressed, but even so, left asap. High prices are fine, mediocre food is fine, poor service is fine. But this hit the trifecta. Enjoy a drink here and move on for dinner.

Part of the welcome was to jank open one of the sliding doors right in front of us because apparently you need to sit right in the draft if you eat inside. Nice selection of beers on tap. Strange though that when I declined a second one because I was driving they don't offer anything else. Most modern restaurants have softdrinks and even an alcohol free beer or two but this place seems to offer only beer and wine. Food... we decided to skip the starters and went straight to the boneless chicken for two. Seems to be some kind of ballotine which was finished under the grill. Not bad actually. Fries were ok. Salad was scattered with some croutons from a cheap bag. After that the draft and the poor service didn't make me want dessert. Had some really nice coffee instead. All in all our experience could best be described as "meh"

No cutlery for that, they gave a normal fork, impossible to take the escargots out of the shell with such a big fork, I ask for an appropriated one and they give me a dessert fork (?) Great grand café in the center of Den Burg. A comfortable terrace with sun all day around, a simple yet very good menu for lunch and bites, and the most friendly owner! Definitely worth a visit when you're on the Island of Texel.

Just this morning I rated Grand café Raaks as my favourite place in Den Burg, Texel's biggest city, for drinking and eating! They serve excellent cappuccinos and the menu card is by the looks of it deliciously tasty! And located at a great square with lots of terrace chairs where you can bask in the sun, what else does a man need?!

We ordered drinks: half of the order (we were two people and ordered two drinks) was wrong and not replaced. I had not finished my big bottle of sparkling water and was prevented from taking the bottle with me. The manager of the restaurant went to even chase me down the street…saying it was forbidden…I offered to pay for the costs of the actual glass recycling deposit or to be given a container to take the water with me ( the bottle was almost full) to no avail - I was only offered two small glasses that didn’t close at 1 euro each… So yeah a place to avoid

Great place to either start or end your schoorl mountain biking outing. The pancakes are really good and so is the atmosphere. There is a good parking spot just opposite the restaurant (a good place to leave your ride)

Evening menu is mostly pancakes and pizza - both really a recommendation. One of the few restaurants in Bergen with a 5-star price/performance relation.

Charming country restaurant in an old Dutch villa, serving delicious homemade pizzas, lasagna and pancakes (sweet and savory), with big playground on the side of the building. They also have a large parking lot just across the street. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The kid's menu is a bit limited, so we ended up getting a pizza Margherita for my daughter. The other, bigger problem, was that because it was weekend and dinner time, a lot of older kids (12-15 years old) were running unattended and playing with a football ball, which made us very nervous for our toddler's safety. Nothing happened, but it would be nice if they wouldn't allow teenagers on the playground, or at least not with balls.

Best salty Pencakes and Pizza. Stoppen by 3 times. That good was the food and ambience. Parking space next to the restaurant. Lovely outdoor and indoor area. Forest for a walk afterwards right beneath the restaurant. Really friendly service and good beer. Dogs are welcome

Went there on a Saturday noon and had a very decent experience. We sat at Bronze Beach next door for half an hour first, but nobody came to our table. Even though it was not very busy and ordering inside was not possible. They said they'd sent someone to take our order, but instead we could just watch the staff having long chats. After an extended waiting period without anyone approaching us we moved next door to the Fuel which is basically the same venue with a almost identical menu. I think even the owners might be the same. For some reason the staff here was the complete opposite: Aware, attentive and overall delightful. We got our food and drinks quickly and everything was very decent. Nothing to write home about though. It's a standard beach cafe so we didn't expect much and that is what we became. The view of the ocean is nice enough. I was thinking if 4 or 5 stars would be sufficient for the rating but went for 4, because there is not really anything for this place to stand out of the endless rows of beach cafes. This doesn't mean this place is bad, it's actually good, there is just nothing remarkable about it. If you're in the neighborhood and want coffee, beer or some bitterballen give this place a try.

I booked that restaurant by accident… I almost cancelled it because I want to go to another restaurant but I have a try…excellent surprise!! The waitress was very friendly and kind. The vegetarian pizza excellent, very good wine. The ambiance is cozy and relax, I felt that the staff have s good relationship between each other and works very well together

Sufficient variety on the menu (apart from dessert), very tasty food, very friendly and helpful staff, tables at distance apart from each other to create an intimate space at your own table, clean restrooms. The location is obviously a plus. Recommended.

This weekend we stayed in bloemendaal aan zee and visited 5 restaurants for lunch and dinner. This one definitely had the best food and also good service. Unfortunately when paying we did not get a bill and got charged 16 euro more than the prices listed on the menu (which we unfortunately only later realized)

Such a nice and relaxed place with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors—perfect for enjoying good weather. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and there were plenty of entertaining games to enjoy. Unfortunately, a few menu items were sold out during our visit, but overall it was a lovely experience.

I recently visited Mooie Boules Haarlem with a friend, I am a very loyal customer of this place, and we had a very troubling experience. While my friend was drinking a glass of wine, they suddenly cut their tongue on the glass, and there was blood. We immediately called the waiter, but his response was very unprofessional, saying it was the first time something like this had happened. We asked to speak with someone in charge, and the manager, Lars, contacted a doctor over the phone. Lars took our phone numbers, assuring us that they would call to follow up, especially since we were concerned my friend might have ingested some glass. He also mentioned that the boss, Manta, would get in touch the next day. However, it's been three days, and no one has reached out or checked on my friend. It's clear that this place prioritizes profits over customer safety. The lack of follow-up and concern is disappointing, and I can no longer recommend this place.

Great pétanque courts here in an amazing venue that is spacious and has one of the best all day sunny terraces overlooking the water. Playing jeux de boules here is legit. The court has a good size, the sand works well with the balls, and the wooden scoring system is the finishing touch. The terrace outside is amazing. Efficient ordering and they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options here from burgers to different rice dishes with tempeh, sate tofu and gyoza. Even worth it coming here just for drink or some bites.

It was just a quick visit but I’m definitely coming back to experience more. It’s one of those places where you can spend easily hours having great food, great fun and what’s most important - plenty of perfectly arranged space. The ambience is top. Food on the menu looks awesome. You order it by scanning QR code - fast & easy. This time I just had coffee and vegetarian bitterballen (very tasty). There are 2 cabinets filled with board games for all ages. You of course can play pétanque. There is a huge outside terrace by the water, where you can also have some entertainment (e.g. big chess). Car parking is just next to it.

A great place for an evening of Boules, food, and drink. The Boules lanes are a good size, and with 5 of them the chances are that as we found out, you can likely extend your time if you need to finish another game (or two). The prices are reasonable for 90 minutes and the drinks are the standard price for Haarlem.

Forgot a letter with gift cards here. When I asked my friend to come pick up the items, he was told that they keep my belongings in a safe, and that the person responsible was not at the establishment. I was told to come in person and call them at 17:00 on the day of my visit. Their suggestion to call them during work hours results in hitting the answering machine. After emailing several times within 2 months they stopped replying. First email was March 27th. Terrible service, still haven't heard back from them. Calling them is useless, I'm eternally on hold. Shame on you for putting up so many obstacles to pick up a piece of plastic!

Went there with our two young kids, both under 5, and the grandparents. Very nice interior and playroom, loved the open kitchen and the atmosphere, that's why they get two stars. However having to wait over an hour for our pancakes is unacceptable, luckily we had ordered our kids pancake with the drinks and got that quicker. Worst thing was that the restaurant was quite empty and two groups of people that arrived and ordered after us were served before. Pancakes were tasty but not for that price and definitely had better ones. Mine was burnt on the bottom but was too hungry to complain. Staff is nice but forgetful and seems to not pay a lot of attention. We did not get to try out the playground outside as the food took so long. Would give them a second chance in a while to see if something has changed.

Service is notoriously slow, but the crepes are tasty and the kids love playing here. Playing at the playground is free if your group comes to eat. Can also make use of the playground without ordering food for a small entrance fee. Definitely call ahead, because if there are school outings being hosted, the kitchen may not be serving more people. All in all it’s a great place to let the little ones play off their energy and let the adults order some drinks and relax.

It's a place you can have more fun , with friends and family. They serve you on time. They are active. And I love bowling 🎳. The location is De Huesmolen 59A, 1625 HZ Hoorn . You can take de bus number 133 or 11zwaag.

Fun minigolf course, nice snacks, drinks were mixed a little too strong and the bowling lanes might need some maintenance but still had great fun golfing and bowling

A very cosy place with a classic feel to it. We went for Halloween bowling with the kids and the Halloween decorations were fantastic! With moving skeletons near the entrance and lots of other stuff all over. If you don't like bowling, you can still go there to play pool or board games, or just have some nice food and chat. All in all a great experience!

It was an okay place and it looks pretty, we only did bowling that night. There is more to do here, like karting/golf and lasertag. If you like to go bowling I wouldn't come here, the bowling-balls don't roll because they're not even and most things didn't look and feel clean.

Lots of stuff to do, great drinks and food. Recommended for a night out with your mates.

I used to like this place, but last time I was there something very weid happened. After having lunch, coffee, etc., I ordered a bottle of water for my 6-year-old daughter. She asked to put the water in her pink unicorn water bottle. A few minutes later, a waitress, who was not the one serving me, came screaming, saying how rude I was for bringing my own water to a restaurant. I calmly explained to her that I've bought the water and showed her the bottle. I explained my child liker her pink bottle. She continued screaming, saying that even so, this was unacceptable. I decided not to try to understand and asked for the check and left. So sad, I liked the place.

Nice place to come with your kids. We ordered a burger but was raw inside so we send it back. Pulled chicken was nice. Also had some glass of wine and normal drinks. But services was not that great. But hé it was more for the kids than for the adults :) No pic without the kids, so i didn't at one. But I added a picture of a nice deal that i saw going to the restroom there. I am certainly coming back to do that without the kids 😉

Was a horrible experience with two little kids. We reserved a table in advance downstairs where the two 1,5 years old can move easily without falling off the stairs. They said everyone wants to sit there so unfortunately not possible. We asked for highchair for the kids,they rudely said is there and pointed to the corner where they are. After we got the drinks ( in a dirty glass )they didn't come to take our order, we had to find someone to do. While we were waiting we put some snacks for the kids to the table ( baby biscuits and rozijn), they told us is not allowed to eat our own food,not even for kids . This place is not family friendly at all! However I think the different treatment was because we were speaking english. Don't recommend for families with little kids!

one of the worst places I've been. After reserving a table for the ground floor we are sent to the first floor and the waitress, who is not happy with my request for an baby chair, points to the floor below and tells me that I can help myself. with the 16 month old baby in my arms I go down the stairs and take the baby chair myself. in the meantime the very kind waitress want takes my friend's order and I wasn't even ON THE TABLE. we were told that it was not allowed to give the food (raisins and biscuits) to the child because it was not bought there. 16 month old child. Don't ever go there, the worst place I've been. Horrible place where go with your child friends and family. 15 euros worse expenses in life.

Booked a day before. Food and service was ok but dessert was no longer an option. We were turned away after two hours because they took a new reservation for our table. If they had said this in advance we would have booked somewhere else. Not really a good advertisement for this company to come back again.

Great place for bringing kids! There is a huge indoor softplay area and an even bigger outdoor play area. Upstairs is a kids cinema. Big tables to enjoy your lunch while the kids are enjoying themselves 👍

A nice location with fine food, the VR murdergame was fun as well. The only downside was that there was a rather long time between the courses, which might have just been bad luck though. Overall very worthwile but you have to keep in mind that you will be spending at least two and a half hours there.
