Restaurant
Nestled in a botanical setting in De Koog, surrounded by dunes and forests, Restaurant het Kook Atelier is a unique concept by OpOost. It offers a delightful menu featuring dishes and recipes served by nature. The restaurant presents fifteen flavor moments that blend East and West while emphasizing the influence of nature.
Op Oost restaurant will offer a great experience while enjoying local ingredients mainly around sea food. The place is gorgeous and cozy, with friendly service and original flavors! we had a lovely evening Note when booking: consider at least 4hrs from the time of your reservation, so that you can enjoy the full experience with all its wonderful dishes! we unfortunately didn't plan ahead and needed to rush a bit in the end, would have loved to stay longer :)

We were staying in the hotel which I had chosen due to the food, we booked in for a meal one evening and I cannot talk highly enough about it. Every course was so well considered and thoroughly delicious and with a tale about the island to tell. This was possibly the best meal I've ever had and I'd love to come and try other seasons. The wine pairings were perfect, complimentary flavours and just the right amount of wine.
Sarah — Google review
If you are looking for an excellent restaurant, you will find it here. An experience in a class of its own, a harmonious ambience, great service and a dinner that is synonymous with the island of Texel. If you want to find the combination of nature and food on your plate, you'll find it here. An excellent wine pairing and an appropriate accompaniment in the form of a non-alcoholic option make the restaurant a place you absolutely must visit. Excellent.

Fantastic..great welcome. Awsome food, everything served was local. Surprise menu was unbelievable. We enjoyed everything. Mike's explanations n patients answering our questions was appreciated. Next time we take a room too 😁

Beautiful restaurant, stunning hotel, and amazing service. The food was incredible. It has a lovely modern-farm house vibe to it.
Rensie K — Google review
The Kook Atelier restaurant was amazing. The food was sourced locally as much as possible and the menu is seasonal. They won’t serve anything that is not in season or that needs to be imported from a far. We did the wine pairing which was also amazing with even Dutch and Eastern European wines. Highly recommend to reserve one night to dine here.

Sometimes you just get lucky! My last several Michelin experiences have been overpriced and mediocre. We went to the island of Texel for the weekend. At 16:00 on a Sunday, we decided to search something for dinner. We found op Oost thx to searching Google maps. I was shocked that on this little island was a Green Michelin star restaurant. I called to see if they could accommodate us on short notice. I have a severe fish and shellfish allergy. After confirming with the kitchen, we were booked for 18:00. I was highly skeptical that we could have a good experience in middle of the island in a tiny village. From the moment we arrived, they proved me wrong. What followed for the next 2 hours was one of the best meals of my life with absolutely perfect service from both the front and back of the house. The first course came and without me having to say anything again, my wife was served a fish dish and I was served an equivalent non fish dish. Each additional course was perfect. The hotel was sold out due to a wedding so the restaurant had space because of it. We were beyond lucky. If you’re visiting Texel, maybe you can get lucky too because op Oost is not to be missed! A final big thank you to the staff for taking perfect care of us!!!!

we had the “Salty Sunday” meal with some great wines then spent the night and had breakfast. everything was excellent and would highly recommend a stay and meal here! we only wish we could have spent more time to have another meal but we will definitely be returning at some point!

Texelse Branding is a charming spot in the heart of Den Burg, where you can indulge in the finest Texel coffee, freshly roasted on-site. This cozy establishment also offers a delectable selection of sandwiches and pastries. The area is known for its dog-friendly atmosphere and beautiful scenery, making it a beloved destination for many travelers. Additionally, Texel boasts an array of culinary delights ranging from breads and cheeses to soups, jams, and wines.
Another Café I absolutely love. Not just the coffees but the baked goods are amazing. Especially the cinnamon rolls are a big hit. I personally love the almond croissants a lot. Sometimes it's annoying when it is crowded, even though it is relatable, because it's just that good. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

Lovely dinner. Great service. And loved that there were a few vegan options. Best salad on the island by far.
Alicia W — Google review
Very nice delicious spot. Fresh bread available. We have ordered eggs, tosti and limonade. Big portions, served very quick even in rush hour. People really doing their best managing amount of tourists. I would only suggest adding less oil in food, it is really heavy to digest:)

If you’re looking for coffee to perfection with amazing pastries and a happy atmosphere, this is the place! This kase croissant (cheese croissant) was the best I’ve had in the World! Not exaggerating! The picture looks tasty but a picture cannot tell a thousand words to describe this croissant, you’ll need to taste it! Very friendly waitress!

Nice vibe, super friendly staff. Not a wide menu, but we both had a delicious lunch and pastry. Mole Eggs doesn't sound like much - delicious and original bowl with a variety of tastes and textures. Plenty of fresh pastries and cakes. Coffee is superb!

THE BEST sourdough experience in NL. Being a sourdough baker myself, I am super happy to find here. The pastries are also nice. Only that something went wrong with the preparation of milk for coffee but I guess they were busy.

This is amazing bakery! Amazing bread, focaccia and croissants. We took a pork BBQ focaccia and it was so juicy and delicious be careful as biting it the juices going to flow all owed your hands). The kings day specialty croissants and cardamom brioche buns were finger liking delicious 🧡

We went here there times during our holiday. First time lunch and drinks, second time lunch, drinks and dessert. All the food is really good with vegetarian and vegan options. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. We need to go back to try the other menu items!

Beach pavillion
Restaurant
Beach Pavillion Kaap Noord is located near the northernmost point of Texel, offering a stunning view of the neighboring island Vlieland. The beach here is tranquil, providing an opportunity to spot seals if you're lucky. The outdoor terrace features spacious benches with large cushions and colorful beach huts nearby. Known as the best pavilion on the island, it's recommended for lunch, such as their juttersplankje paired with a glass of white wine.
Great place for a meal. It is right on the beach so a perfect spot to soak up the sun and people watch. The menu is quite big for a beach spot and very well made. They have gluten free bread so can make many of the items gluten free. The manager is quite knowledgeable of what goes into the food so can advise you what is possible to make gluten free and not. Well worth a visit!

we had an early dinner. the place is wel situated but you better go by car. it has a big parking but it is paid. the staff are great. food is served pretty fast and drink selection is nice. i had a nice time. i recommend this place 100%

Kaap Noord has vegan options, but not much. The oesterzwam kroketjes on brown bread were a classic good lunch. Perfect for a group with people with a mixed diet. Staff is friendly and the view is great ;)
Jerry W — Google review
We have been regular guests at this restaurant for many years. We have always been warmly welcomed with our dogs. We have always found the restaurant to be particularly dog-friendly. Since this year, only one dog per adult is allowed. Apparently, this is due to space constraints (it has never been crowded, and the number of tables hasn't changed either). It's a shame that the restaurant is becoming increasingly unfriendly to dogs (and their owners)… :-( Next days we‘re warmly welcome with our 3 dogs in the outside area. So I switched 2 stars into 4 ;-)
Marleen W — Google review
With the beautiful view from the terrace and good food it's a brilliant place to have a summer dinner.

Very nicely located beach Restaurant, quite big. Large terras and also a good amount of tables inside. Windslielded and even some place with rain cover for the occasional shower. We enjoyed the vega snach platter and nachos. Great to see that there is a choice for vegetarians and even a few vegan options. Coffee was good to

We went here twice and were both times happy with our visit. First night we had to wait for an hour to get inside because of the long line of people. We tried 2 types of fish and both tasted fresh and great. Next day we went for lunch (luckily no waiting this time). We tried two types of toasts which were both fantastic. My favorite being the smoked salmon. Staff is very nice and friendly even though they were quite busy with serving all the crowd. Tip: in high season make a reservation if you don’t like to wait.

Beach pavillion
Strandpaviljoen Strandpaal 21 is a delightful beach pavilion nestled next to the stunning Slufter nature reserve on Texel, making it an ideal spot for a post-walk treat. While I didn't indulge in lunch or breakfast here, I couldn't resist their homemade apple pie topped with whipped cream—absolutely divine! After exploring the picturesque dunes and reaching the beach, it's perfect to unwind at Strandpaal 21 with a slice of cake and coffee.
Beach bar restaurant with panoramic views. We had drinks here and are content. The sunset here is very scenic and quite busy. There is no menu visible outside, which is not according to regulations. Don't go on the dunes, it's not allowed and if you walk on the sensitive dune grass you destroy it and then the dune won't hold. It's a National Park. Most people come by bike but there is a paid parking lot about 400m away. The surrounding area is very scenic and the water temperatures may surprise you, often 20C or well above.
Michael B — Google review
Very nice restaurant. We were there in April. No reservations. But we came early, around 17:30. The child ordered a fries with frikandel. My husband and I ordered a carpaccio salad and a burger with feta. And for dessert - Dame Blanche. It was incredibly tasty. And smiling, friendly staff. I highly recommend this place.
Alena K — Google review
It's one of the most disappointing experiences in my life. You expect it to be like all the reviews, but it's not. The service is slow and so up to style, I was feeling like being in the wrong to place my order. We were a group of 12 with 6 kids, and the food came with like 10 minutes separation... if you have kids, you know it's a disaster... So overall, the drinks were ok, the food is heated convenience, and service is on the lower end. You gonna pay for the location and the view, which is great but that it... if you up to it, go ahead.
K. G — Google review
Was a very nice experience to sit there. We enjoyed the food and service the first time. Incredible how some dishes can make the difference in this island that we come back to each year. We went a second time but sadly the service, food quality and price didn't really match each other this time. We ordered a hamburger where the bun was very thick, hard from outside and soft from inside because it stayed too long on the juice of the meat. Loaded fries were nice as a portion but not much loaded. They only had truffle mayo and a little parmesan cheese on top which it reached only the first layer of the fries. I would have chosen to give a side sauce knowing that the mayo didn't reach the rest of the potatoes or at least give the choice. We don't mind standing up and going to the bar to ask for our bill but that's not guest friendly. Still this is a place we want to come back to when we visit next year.
Green S — Google review
Great view, great food but the staff needs to work on being a bit more proactive when it comes to second orders plus drinks :)
Lara I — Google review
This is the best beach en the best beach reastaurant in Texel. Having experience with beach hospitality, you won't find a better place like this on the Island. Overall restaurant standerds at beach restaurants on Texel are very average. Paal 21 is the best. Also this beach is patrolled by lifeguards.
Andres — Google review
The Staff was very nice ! There is no English translation on the menu. 16,90€ for a burger that didn’t taste at all, and without fries or salad for this price - seemed quite expensive for not much.

10/10. Really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We picked the 5 course menu with wine pairing. Every dish + wine combo was excellent. Surprising combinations of flavours, meat cooked to perfection, fresh local products. Highly recommend going to Eilandkeuken!

The food of Eiland keuken is very nice. Only pity the instructions for take away to warm up at home is not very clea, no ingredient explaination so we just have to guess what we ordered Despite that, the taste is good, would order again.

This Bed&Breakfast is exellent. Not only the rooms are very nice but also the restaurant. Here i had a tasteful breakfast wich i liked very much. Bread and croissants 100% fresh and stil warm. This chef knows how it works.

Beautiful experience with everything in top quality from service, smiles, intérieur, menu, wine etc. and always with the little extra, details or endlessly positive surprises.

A special fine dining experience. The combination of flavours and textures were all very delicate, a much welcome change in a country where a lot of restaurants just throw as many spices as possible in the food. The recipes were perfect to showcase the quality of the local ingredients. I would suggest to include the tartare in your menu because it is excellent.

Restaurant Gusta offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a must-visit even if you're not staying at Hotel Texel. The restaurant provides a unique experience with its connection to the nearby farm and the crops grown there. Guests praise the delicious food, excellent service, and charming ambiance. However, some feedback suggests that the vegetarian options could be more diverse. Overall, it's described as a wonderful place with top-notch cuisine and is highly recommended for a memorable dining experience on Texel.
A pleasant place with an atmospheric decor. The food meets our expectations and the service made every effort to make us feel special.
Anna — Google review
We had a wonderful dinner, enjoyed all dishes
Ronit R — Google review
The restaurant strikes a perfect balance in its design — Nordic rustic with a modern twist, creating a warm yet stylish atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We opted for the chef’s signature menu with wine pairing, and every dish impressed us: beautifully presented, creative, and absolutely delicious. The wine selection was particularly interesting, focusing on local and lesser-known labels. Each pairing complemented the food perfectly, making the experience both surprising and memorable. The only drawback was the service of the wines. Over the course of the evening, our drinks were served by three different staff members, each with varying levels of knowledge about what they were pouring. At an upscale restaurant, I would expect all staff involved in wine service to be equally well-versed in the pairings, so that the storytelling around the wines matches the level of the food. Overall, though, it was a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend, especially for those looking to explore a creative menu paired with distinctive wines.
Cello K — Google review
Excellent dinner with local products, we had the yellowtail, seabass and the lamb. It was delicious!

It’s the second time we stay in Hotel Texel and dine in restaurant Gusta. We are very happy, the quality remains high in all aspects, the food and atmosphere is great and the service excellent! Especially the meat and wines/pairings are great. We will definetely come again in our next visit to Texel!

Restaurant 't Pakhuus is a must-visit for seafood lovers on Texel. Located by the Oudeschild harbor, this charming spot offers a variety of fresh fish and shellfish from the North and Wadden Sea. While it's a haven for seafood enthusiasts, meat lovers can also indulge in dishes like the famous Texels lamb during the season. Vegetarians are not left out with multi-course dinner options available.
Hands down the best restaurant in Texel and dare I say, the entire country. I took my bf to ‘t Pakhuus to celebrate his birthday and we had the best dining experience. First of all, the food is just outstanding. This is the place to be if you want fresh seafood and local meat fare in the island. Second, the service is just superb. The servers are very attentive and overall friendly and professional. They even got my bf a sparkler to wish him a happy birthday during dessert. We’ll definitely come back to this gem of a restaurant.
Victoria P — Google review
Great food, wonderful service. My only complaint would be that even though we made a reservation, we were still seated on the veranda. It was good but I would have preferred a table inside.
Jaco B — Google review
Truly exceptional experience! Our server, Sandro, was such a joy and the service makes us eager to return. And the entire staff was so knowledgeable and attentive. We had the surprise 5-course dinner and I actually enjoyed every dish compared to similar experiences at other high-end restaurants. Will absolutely return again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Texel.

We had a lovely lunch. We sat inside and we’re a party of seven (three generations). The food was exceptional. We had lobster bisque, oysters, fresh fish, lobster and claims. The service was warm and attentive. Best seafood on Texel.
Neal G — Google review
The best memories 😍😍😍 Brilliant staff. Good match at all. We have had a dinner for 8 persons.
Andrii S — Google review
The wintergarden is hot (don’t sit there), we asked the waiter at the very beginning to speed up the process, but we sat there for 1.5 hrs when the main arrived. This is when we had to leave. People who arrived after us and also ordered the mussels got it ahead of us. The food and the place is more wanna be French haut cuisine, than excellent. Still got charged for everything and we got the mussels to go. It was a joke.
Abel F — Google review
Overall a very good experience. Price is also very reasonable for a multi course meal prepared with thought! We had to rush out to catch the ferry but would’ve loved to stay longer for the full experience
Yunji K — Google review
Enjoyed a lovely meal at 't Pakhuus. Not our first choice as it's quite pricey but since all other restaurants in Oudeschilde stop serving food early (before 8pm) this was our only option. Service was faultless and the vegetarian option was adapted to substitute a main ingredient. The food was delicious and it was good to see a couple of local beers from Texel on the menu too. Thank you for rescuing our evening so wonderfully!

Catharinahoeve is a family restaurant on Texel that offers a wide variety of delicious and affordable pannenkoeken, including many vegetarian options. The Avocado pannenkoek comes highly recommended. The restaurant provides a safe and enjoyable playground for children, making it an ideal place for families to dine. Visitors praise the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and the option to bring along their dogs. Additionally, the restaurant's open fire creates a warm and inviting ambiance.
Everything you expect from an old style pancake farmhouse. It has this typical smell that reminds you granny's home where you got those thick lush pancakes. One and you were stuffed. Well this is just that place. Thick pancakes with a variety of ingredients. They even can make them resemble Texel. Friendly personnel. Both the ordering process as getting to plate at the table was fast but I have to keep in mind it was not busy (november 16:00) I would love it if they had a Sunday night farmers country night that would be a Wow-factor

We go here every time we visit Texel. The pan cakes are amazing and everything can be served gluten free. Additionally, there is a nice playground for the kids while waiting for their meals.

Really enjoyable lunch here! Especially recommend the local Texel pannekoeken. I enjoyed the spinach, walnut, goat‘s cheese and honey one; all local products. Vegetarian options here. We sat outside but inside looked cosy and restrooms ver clean. Staff could be a bit more aware but for the most part, they were fine. Would definitely come again!

Okay Dutch pancakes. They serve a big variety of pancakes, including several special ones from the Texel region. I didn't enjoy their pancake dough because it was too moist. Staff is friendly, but service can be improved by being more attentive.

Restaurant BOSQ is a spirited restaurant located in Den Burg, Texel. It offers a diverse menu with dishes that are like small pieces of art. While some dishes may be more appealing than others, the overall dining experience is commendable. The restaurant is known for its pet-friendly atmosphere and is a great place to visit with your furry friend. Additionally, it caters to various dietary preferences including vegan options.
We enjoyed every single dish. Each dish was a nice portion and beautifully served. Only that we felt slightly uncomfortable when a kind waiter was talking over our wine glasses because of the current covid outbreak continuing in the country. It's not only at this restaurant. Hope the whole situation gets better soon.
M K — Google review
During the lockdown, we ordered twice take out, it's nice. In August 2021 finally there is a chance to have the dinner there, it's really good. Nice dishes, not over seasoning, every bite you can taste the flavour of the ingredients itself. Nice wine pairing and lots of choice for whiskey. In June 2022 we visited BOSQ again, this time the experience menu really surprised us because it's really tasty! Especially the slow marinated and roasted Anges beef with BBQ sauce, that's the highlight of the dinner! Also, the pop corn ice cream as dessert is also a surprise. Right away we booked the next Wednesday visit, can't wait to try other dishes soon.

Amazing experience in the middle of nothing. Texel is a small island, a peaceful tourist place, and you can't expect such good restaurants in this kind of places. Menu is not in english, it's hard to understand what is written if you don't speak Dutch; anyway, the waiter was so kind to go through the entire menu, and he explained ingredient by ingredient every course. Gourmet meals, prices are above average, price performance was extremely good. Silence and peace were very appreciated. If you like to eat well while travelling, you can't miss this place.

Amazing culinary experience in a quite corner of the forest overlooking a field. The food was excellent. We had really good service from the staff. Would definitely return.

The dishes look amazing, all small pieces of art! I liked some better than others, it wasn’t always my taste but overall it’s a good restaurant

Splendid seasonal fresh & local “lekkers!” This place serves Michellin star food and we’ve enjoyed the surprise menu!

A very good restaurant on the edge of forest and farmland. The terrace provided nice views and was sufficiently sheltered from the wind. The food was great; so was the bottle of cava. Some interesting Asian influences, like this Okonomiyaki.

Pretentious. Some pretty good food and some failed efforts of good food. Some waiters more capable than others. When my brother in law spilled some water, one waiter had an obviously dirty cloth to lap it up, touching my cutlery in the process. He then picked it up to put it back next to my plate. Argh. Pro: North sea crab, the ossehaas, calf's cheek with ducks liver, shrimp croquettes. A great view in summer. Good wines. Against: one of the waiters. The iberico that had absolutely no taste. And the dessert with green "whatever" and some kind of chocolate crumbs Another pro: great Irish coffee. Third time, still great views, great wines, food had its ups and downs, but mostly ups. As before, it is not an amazing Michelin experience, but definitely one of the better restaurants on the island. Looking forward visiting a fourth time.

Breakfast restaurant
Lokaal 16 is a charming café and lunchroom located in Den Burg, Texel. The establishment offers delicious coffee, breakfast, and lunch made with fresh and sustainable ingredients, including local Texel products and unique organic items. The cafe's modern and urban ambiance, set in a traditional blue-painted house on the outskirts of the city center, makes it a must-visit spot.
Definitely come here! The sandwiches are so fresh and perfectly balanced. The salmon tasted fresher than the Alaskin river that it came from and was paired nicely with a spot on flat white. They really have taken care to create a little spot which you can feel home in. Keep up the great work guys, I even told my mum about your little cafe!

Lokaal 16 is truly a hidden gem that catches your eye with its beautiful exterior. The moment you step inside, you're immediately greeted by a flood of natural light and an atmosphere that exudes warmth and coziness. The inviting aroma of happiness and freshly brewed coffee envelops you, setting the perfect mood for a relaxing experience. The friendly waitstaff, with their happy and welcoming demeanor, further enhances the overall ambiance. To kick off our visit, we ordered a cortado and a cappuccino. The baristas at Lokaal 16 showcased their expertise in crafting these drinks, resulting in a satisfying and flavorful experience. For a delightful starter, we couldn't resist trying their cheesecake, and it was a heavenly treat. The creamy texture and delicious flavor made it a perfect accompaniment to our beverages. Moving on to the brunch menu, we opted for the tantalizing avocado toasts paired with a refreshing glass of orange juice. The combination of creamy avocado spread on crunchy toast was a match made in culinary heaven. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and added a zesty touch to the meal. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail were evident in every bite. In summary, our visit to Lokaal 16 was a true delight. The cozy and chill environment played a significant role in creating a memorable experience. We would wholeheartedly rate it 4 out of 5 stars. If you're searching for a place to unwind, savor delicious food and drinks, and bask in a relaxed atmosphere, Lokaal 16 is a definite must-visit.

Nice, cozy café with a lovely achtertuin—feels like it’s family-run. Staff were super friendly, and there were plenty of vegetarian options. Great spot to relax.

Good coffee and lunch, but very grumpy owner! Not service focussed at all. From the moment we stepped in this lunchroom, the owner was grumpy. This place looks nice and is totally different than the average tourist trap. However, the owner should learn about hospitality and the customer first concept. I wanted to pay at the cashier, I waited for over 10 min. While the owner saw me waiting and was in a conversation with a sales rep. As I was not served, I asked if I could pay. The owner did not like to be disturbed. In hospitality it's customer first and sales rep second. You saw me waiting and could have asked your co-worker to assist me.

Super cute Café, the carrot cake was amazing, unfortunately the matcha was not as good as it looks. But as a Matcha enjoyer I am used to it. I recommend getting better matcha powder, a chasen and sifting it before adding water. Still an amazing cafe and I will be back. To try the Kokos Latte.😊😁

Great cafe/lunch spot with just a teensy bit of a hipstery vibe. Temporarily out of salads (!), but what they do have more than makes up for it. The soup of the day (bell pepper) and the sandwiches (goat cheese/walnuts/rucola and pastrami, see pictures) were just perfect. Also, it's probably the only place in Den Burg where you can have a savoury breakfast, so extra points for that.

Restaurant de Worsteltent, situated in an old farmhouse on Smitsweg in Den Burg, offers a rustic and charming dining experience. The 400-year-old farmhouse has been transformed into a cozy restaurant with an Italian kitchen team that prepares fresh and authentic dishes. Guests can choose from a delightful menu or opt for the chef's surprise. The restaurant features beautiful indoor seating as well as a spacious garden area. Visitors can enjoy delicious pizzas and other Italian specialties while soaking up the relaxing atmosphere.
We had the Italian summer soup and mackerel salad: everything was delicious! Service is very friendly. Lovely outside space, on the grass, surrounded by trees.

The fried egg on the burger tasted quite great. But the fries (on the side) I could have done without. Also a bit surprised as you claim om your website; using fresh and local products. The fries were certainly not fresh, and moreover not very tasty. Are they local? For the price of almost twenty euros I cannot give more than three stars for this review.

Delicious food and big portions. The location is very nice and the restaurent decor as well. It is however very warm inside due to the pizza oven. The calamari portion was huge and the sauce was tasty. The pizzas are good as well.

One of the best restaurant experience we have had in the Netherlands for 3 years. Located in the heart of Tessel island in the ancient dutch building (former farm house perhaps) with straw roof with amazing garden/terrace. We were late for our reservation, administrator still managed to welcome us to the terrace. Sad we were in hurry to be in time for the ferry, otherwise would spend more time! The food is nice - full Italian focus. We took vegi sup, pizza and pasta. All went perfectly.

For this reason, we also appreciate cuisines from other countries. The Asian/Indonesian cuisine has become an integral part of our culinary preferences. If you are a fan of Indonesian cuisine and happen to be on the island of Texel, it is highly recommended to dine at LvY Indonesia by Anneke's Kitchen. This restaurant offers a true taste of Indonesia right in Texel, with dishes that are both flavorful and diverse.
Please visit this little gem on Texel, this is not going to be the normal restaurant experience you are used to. When you make a reservation, which is a must, they will inform you of a starting time. Be on time! You and the other guests will now go on a journey guided by Anneke, she and her husband will tell you about her life and the inspiration for the dish, each course has its own story and you get to taste some amazing Indonesian food. We were not expecting this up front and we were so pleasantly surprised. When you are on Texel, make a reservation here, they change the menu every three months, so next time you can come back again.

Excellent place, sophisticated cuisine, great concept of menu-surprise. It's just that it was too long... 3,5 hours at the table is not easy to support, even if food is great... Alors, really expensive, but OK to make it once every 5 years ;-) Congratulations to the family-team!

I have zero patience nor talent to cook, therefore all of the appreciation for those who have and create a delicious night that’s a bit more than just “going out for dinner”. Loved the stories told by Anneke linked to the dishes. And i am not a fan of soup but the soto betawi i completely finished. Both Anneke and her husband are very hospitable although it may not seem like it if one enters the venue when the culinary journey had already begun and you cannot travel along. For the next time, make that reservation, it’s worth it!

It was an extraordinary experience. Anneke and Menno made us feel like being at home. Food was super tasty and fresh. Each course was made with love and so special. The way flavours came together was everytime a surprise, rounded up by selfmade sambal even better. Yes some Germans like spicy food... :-) Thanks for this special evening!

Everything I ate and drank during this evening was extraordinary delicious. If you ever have the chance to taste this authentic, well balanced and wonderful served food, don't miss it! Also the taste of every tea served with the food was 100% harmonic to the dish and the friendly and warm ambience is rarely to find. I will definitely come back next time visiting Texel.

Texels Goud is a charming brasserie on Texel, offering a delightful experience of sharing tasty bites. From crunchy sushi to gyozas and ebi tempura, the menu promises an array of delectable options. The ambiance is inviting, perfect for savoring good cocktails while enjoying the gemoedelijke atmosphere.
This is my second time eating here and both times were great. You have some options to eat sushi in the island, also all you can eat, but if you are looking for quality you should come here for sure. The sushi is amazing, the service is great and the prices are good (the thing that I expected to be a bit cheaper is the water but it’s not bad). I had three Uramaki Sushi’s and a plate of Gyoza (that was also good). I really recommend one of the Uramaki called “Spicy Dynamite” because it is incredible. The restaurant has a very good atmosphere with nice music, decoration and free WiFi so if you are looking for a nice place to chill and relax I also recommend this place.

Very good Asian restaurant with juicy yakitori, tasty gyoza and ver friendly service!
Maria B — Google review
Regarding Restaurant Bistro Texels Goud, the minimum order costs of 25 euros are above my intended budget for 1 person, the delivery costs of 3.50 euros can be called acceptable. "Sushi" and "Poke Bowl" (cold dishes) are somewhere at the bottom of my favorites list. I also find the calculation of "service Fee" nonsense. Considering the ratings, I take the average.

(Translated by Google) During our holiday on Texel we ate here. It is a small restaurant with friendly staff. I really enjoyed my meal! You can order different dishes, both sushi and small Asian dishes. I thought the sushi was super tasty! Everything is freshly prepared. We ordered 2 dishes per round. This allows you to dine a bit longer. You pay about 15,- per dish. I think that with three dishes per person you have enough. If you order more, it will of course be more expensive. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Overpriced and overall not worth it. Staff was friendly but atmosphere was basic. The Long Island iced tea was not good, too sweet and did not taste good. The food was just bad. Restaurant Oranjerie ‘t Vogelhuis, situated on Dorpsstraat in De Koog, has a rich history. Originally built as a hotel in 1934 to attract bird enthusiasts from the mainland to Texel, it transitioned into a standalone restaurant in 1992. Over the years, it has become a beloved dining spot for locals and visitors alike.
We had a very nice dinner, great meats in the mixed grill with delicious sauces. And the baked brie was also delicious I heard from my family (as I don't like brie haha). Staff took their time to talk to us and answer all sorts of questions. Best part? They were really nice to our labrador Ollie! <3

A really nice restaurant, second time visiting! They are dog friendly which is a bonus. We did sit outside but in the heat, we were placed next to the glass screen, this was not a good place to sit, the heat radiated from the glad which made it even hotter, was a little more uncomfortable. The staff were really nice and friendly and good with recommendations. The food was really nice, we had: -Caesar salad: that was really nice looking and the flavour was good! -Muscles: they were cooked so well and the flavour was so good, there is a very big portion as well. Compliments to the chef! -Texel beer battered fish and chips: the flavour was very nice, crispy batter and a soft melting fish, this was a lovely dish! -Mixed grill: this was a lot smaller than expected per price, the meat was really good with the flavour, you did also have to order extra fries that was not expected. Overall a good place to eat and drink, nice location, pet friendly and would visit again.

We went in for cocktails and desert before lunch time. It was relatively quiet. One of four people didn't receive their food. The ice coffee has relatively high sugar content compared to other places in Netherlands. Couldn't drink it tough I enjoy sweets generally. We received no napkins either. Had to use our own. Decorations and atmosphere are nice, but when service is lacking the experience turns a bit sour.

Lots of asparagus and very tasteful food. A nice atmosphere, friendly service and a very reasonable price. It was amazingly kid-friendly. Next to the bathroom is a corner to play with a toys, kitchen and a touch screen for 4+ folks. Our son also received a cuddly toy and a coloring page. On top of that there's a kid's-only menu card.

Open from 10 AM, it offers a delightful range of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can savor expertly brewed Segafredo coffee or indulge in an extensive lunch menu featuring dishes that cater to all ages.
This was the best meal I've had in the last two weeks of travel. The lamb stew was exceptional, and onion soup was very high quality too. The staff were accommodating in finding us a table as a last-minute drop-in. I hope to come back to Texel and this restaurant in future!

I recently visited this restaurant on Texel Island in the Netherlands for dinner on a Friday night. Having made a reservation in advance, we were pleased to find our table already prepared upon arrival. The reception we received was warm and welcoming, setting a positive tone for the evening. As we settled in, we were promptly served with two beers and handed menus in English, which was greatly appreciated. The initial bar area had a lively ambiance with a wide selection of tap beers available. At the far end of the bar, there was a charming lighthouse that served as the restaurant area, adding a unique touch to the setting. For our meal, we opted for the marinated and smoked mix of spare ribs and the lamb stew. The spare ribs were decent but fell short of the exceptional quality praised by other reviewers. I would personally rate them at 3 stars. On the other hand, the lamb stew was enjoyable, with tender meat and pleasing flavors, deserving of 4 stars. To conclude our dining experience, we indulged in a delightful strawberry cheesecake for dessert, which I would easily give a well-deserved 5-star rating. Overall, the gastronomic experience at this restaurant was average. While the food didn't surpass expectations, the exceptional service provided by the staff and the pleasant vibe of the place elevated the overall experience.

My personal highlight during my stay on Texel. Dark ambient, amazing food, super friendly, young and quick staff, and overall a great time. As you can see in the pictures, food was plenty and the spare ribs rank really high among my favourites ever. But it was the tomato soup that really won my heart. The staff seems to be very happy to chat and get along with their costumers which was really nice to see. If I ever return to Texel, this will be the place to eat!

A Tavern style restaurant in a shopping area (you have to know it :-)) in Den Burg Texel which gives you the homey feeling on the spot. The service is excellent very friendly and passionate to give you a great evening. We had the cheese fondue this time with some surprising dips ideas. Make sure you reserve a table on time, a lot of locals know their existence!

Food was good, but simply just not excellent. I took both ribs (smoked/bbq) a bit on the dry side. And the sauces were a bit standard. My partner took the fish (I think halibut) same a bit dryish missing a sauce altogether. Very good degrated/boning. Service was exquisite, amicable and friendly also attentive. The front of the house is very atmospheric and well thought out or lived. The rear part feels a bit like an after thought and has very disappointing and below mediocre cheap Hollywood movie themed art. I’m not asking for Texel themed art, there is enough of that. Just better thought out and skilled art. I’m thinking it’s a temporary gallery type thing so hopefully next time something new and interesting?

Pollo is a vibrant restaurant known for its delicious chicken dishes, tasty sides, and classic desserts. The menu predominantly features artisanally prepared chicken specialties. The combination of delectable food, friendly staff, and stylish interior makes it a place worth revisiting. Customers praise the half chicken with house herbs as exceptionally flavorful and moist. Additionally, the accommodating and understanding staff received high praise for their exceptional service.
We enjoyed this restaurant during our trip to Texel and we decided to visit again before heading home. The food is very delicious and freshly made when you order it as we see it getting roasted from our seats. A great value for the price! The service was quick, attentive, and welcoming, even with an infant in our group, which we really appreciated. For food, the Piri Piri Chicken stood out if you enjoy spicy dishes, while my husband particularly liked the ‘Nduja. Both were well-prepared and flavorful. It’s a spot I’d happily recommend and would visit again when in the area. A reliable choice for good food and friendly service.

A must go! Amazing food for a fair price and a great service! We arrived late, but we were welcomed anyway. The chicken was amazing, and the service was warm, funny, and sincere. I would suggest going to anyone. 5+ start because the tiramisù was something else, one of the best we've had in a restaurant.

Our last evening of the summer holidays at the island of Texel could be better for the food. This was absolutely lovely. Kip eigenwijs and cauliflower bites were delicious. Service was very friendly and the owner was happy to hear that the pork cheeks were delicious. Thanks for the perfect evening

Lovely place with good food. We ordered a salad with pulled chicken, half of a chicken with mango sauce, fries and croquettes. Portions were very big, so for us it would be easy to share just one half of a chicken for 2 adults. Staff members were very nice and friendly. Prices are just average for the Netherlands, but in relation to the taste and the portion size it’s better than average. Highly recommend the place.

An absolute must visit on Texel. The food is so tasty, get a kippeling with some beers, it will be worth it The chicken is crispy and fresh, the fries are properly made with a sprinkle of spices and the salad is flavourful and diverse. Portions are of a good size and not too expensive

The best chicken restaurant in the world. I am still wondering how they made the chicken breast so tasty!!! In other restaurants, breast/chicken meat can be very tasteless, but Pollo is different. Not only that, they also put a lot of effort into the food presentation. All of the foods look so pretty and delicious, and of course, they all are tasty! The owner and the staff are very friendly. We are delighted about everything. If you are in Texel and currently looking for a restaurant to eat, feel free to walking into Pollo. I totally recommend it! 💖🫶🏼

The food is nice. Staff was friendly. Chicken was well seasoned and tender. But I was disappointed the meat isn't actually barbequed. I was expecting a nice open flame bbq and the flavour that comes from it but they obviously cook it electric rotisseries. Still would recommend it.

we stayed for a weekend in August. it was truly wonderful. great room and service. Jef’s food is amazing and Nadine will expertly guide you through each course with a very thoughtful, excellent wine pairing. we will definitely come back.

Amazing experience. In my point of view, if you go to a restaurant like this you are looking for something else than eating.... You should be ready for a sensorial experience and enjoy it to the full. Bij Jef exceded our expectations. The food was great, but this is almost taken for granted, the creative presentation, the combination of flavors and (I recommend the option) the wine pairing all was fabulous. From the apetisers to the dessert. Both the chef and all his crew did a wonderful job a made us feel comfy. Although high priced It is worth It. All in all is a true sensorial experience.

Better than anything else on the island. What else can I say, I normally never take a menu when I don't know what I'll get, but it this case it didn't matter because it is all delicious. And I didn't bother looking properly at their large selection of wines and went straight for the recommendations. The wines where something completely different than I would normally choose, but they where a great complement to the dishes. After our glorious food I met Jef for the first time in decades and he is still a lovely smiling man and he has an obvious passion for his craft. A well deserved Michelin star. I should book again.

Great food and interesting wines. Chef Jef makes sure you won't leave hungry. This restaurant is very seafood forward, so make sure you're not allergic.

In one word: fantastic! Everything, from the ambiance, to the service, to the food, to the wine pairing, to the amuse-bouches, to the homemade bread, to the friandises, to the hotelroom, to breakfast the next morning. A Michelin star worthy experience, without a doubt. The Local Meets Cosmopolitan menu with wine pairing is a true treat. Every single dish is delicious, perfectly seasoned, prepared to perfection. It is obvious that Jef and his kitchen brigade are passionate about food. The hostess and the service are super friendly and attentive. The sommelier understands the trade; this was one of the best wine pairings we have ever experienced. We also went for the wine upgrade with the lamb, a stunning red, definitely worth it. We booked a package with overnight stay and breakfast, so after this feast it was just one flight of stairs leading to a lovely, super comfy and neat hotel room. Breakfast was press repeat: tasty dishes, yummy juices, a glass of something sparkling for the road. Sweet and savoury, flawless. All in all, top-notch. Totally worth it and worth repeating; we’ll be back!

Last summer I had the pleasure to enjoy a diner at Bij Jef together with my partner. We started the evening on the comfy patio with amazing little amuse-bouches and a very warm welcome. We then moved to a table inside, the atmosphere was great, modern and open yet warm and private. The room features a semi open kitchen showing a glimpse into the wel oiled machine working to deliver amazing quality food. A very knowledgable but not arrogant sommelier explained all the different wines that accompanied our courses. And the courses, o my, wonder after wonder arrived on the table, flavour explosions and theatrical art on a plate combined. The tempi of the evening were thought out to perfection, some courses were served quickly after each-other, others gave you time to relax and reflect, only to have your attention brought back with something that surprised and delighted us. Every course was accompanied by small freshly baked different pieces of bread, some salty, some sweet, all perfect. The maître d' was amazing and service impeccable, not snobbish and distant but warm and inviting. I've had the best restaurant experience of my life here. And I will come back to Texel, just to eat at Bij Jef again. Loved it!

One star Michelin restaurant that can't work with dietary requests. No way to prepare food without shellfish or pork "That will be vegetarian". I've never heard of this in such an establishment. Any Michelin star restaurant we've visited has so far been able to accommodate dietary requests (even in Spain off all places), but for 1.100 Euro for a weekend this restaurant is above all that... What a shame.

Be ready to spend 4 hours for the 7 course menu. Be ready that half glass of milk for your child costs 6 euro and welcoming cocktails are not for free. Prices are higher than in other 1-star Michelin restaurants we have ever been.

Restaurant Passie Texel in De Koog offers a small-scale kitchen that changes its menu with the seasons, ensuring there's always something new to try. The restaurant invites guests to indulge in a surprise menu of three to five courses, featuring dishes like lobster bisque, duck breast with 5 spice herbs, pumpkin and honey, and Texel shrimp. Whether it's for a fabulous meal or great wine pairing, this spot is highly recommended by visitors for its excellent service and delightful culinary experience.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent and matched the price. The ambience was lovely, creating a nice atmosphere to enjoy the meal. As a breastfeeding mom, I appreciated their wide selection of mocktails—I'd definitely recommend the limoncello spritz. The service was also outstanding—personalized and very punctual. Overall, a fantastic spot I’d visit again.

Strandpaviljoen Paal 9, located in Den Hoorn, is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike. The pavilion offers a relaxed atmosphere without any specific style, making it a favorite among surfers. Guests can enjoy a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, including fresh vega(n) burgers and lentil curry.
My favorite beach restaurant (and also Paal 9 Is my favorite place to go to the beach in Texel). Comfort food as well as some more sophisticated dishes you would not expect in a beach restaurant. And out of this world (real) Dutch apple pie (not the one that people call Dutch in the US and has nothing to do with The Netherlands). Try it with whipped cream And if cold outside - hot chocolate with whipped cream
Dimitry N — Google review
Place is quite relaxing as it is close to the beach and the view is nice. Service was young and fast but the food and drinks were a little bit too expensive in price performance ratio. Small plates and drinks and not as expected. For example there was a cheesecake on top of carrot cake stated in menu for 5,70 EUR and we only received a cheesecake with buiskuit bottom (-->usual cheesecake🤷🏼). So ok in taste but not for that price. I was a little bit disappointed because the location could be more attractive if the food was more or a little bit less expensive.

It is a nice place for drinks & snacks but that’s it. In the evening it turns into not really working well factory where you are just one of many customers. Got my dish without dressing, fries looked like leftovers and had to go myself to the counter to pay… enjoy daytime, think twice going for dinner

Bistro Freya is a farm-to-table restaurant that requires reservations. It is cozy and intimate, with one friendly waiter serving all the tables. The menu, which changes regularly, is presented on a movable chalkboard, and the waiter explains each dish. While there may not be photos of the meals, the waiting time between courses is well worth it. Despite its small size, Bistro Freya has charm and attracts many regular customers when they visit Texel.
We had a fabulous dinner here last night. Such a cozy ambience and the owners go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food was perfect in every way and the price was reasonable.

It's a small restaurant but it has charm. Many regular customers visit them when they are in Texel. Decent price for the dishes, good quality and service. Not easy to book because of the space is limited, but we're lucky. The value definitely equal the price 👍👍👍

Reservation absolutely required! Don't go here if you don't have time. It's small and cozy and there is one very friendly waiter doing all the work. The menu is on a chalkboard that moves from table to table and she explained all the meals. Since the menu changes, my photos might not be what you'll have. There's a waiting time between the courses but it's absolutely worth it! I had to stop myself to take a picture.

Super friendly staff. My company tonight was vegetarian and they did not have anything on their menu, so the chef prepared a vegetarian option that made me envious, from.the looks alone. Tasted excellent as well. Bring some time as they do not rush between courses. Make sure you book a table as it can be very crowded. Their menu changes and is only available on a chalkboard. The owner took her time to translate the menu for us. If you get the opportunity, you should go there.

Meat & Co is a restaurant known for its delicious burgers and quality grilled meats. Although the legendary Tower o'Meat is no longer available, there are still three great burger options to choose from. The ambiance is stylish and the burgers are highly recommended, with a variety of choices including Classic, The Carnivoor, and Veggie Burger. Additionally, the spareribs are described as finger-licking good.
Food was wonderful and portions are large. Excellent value for money. I ordered the sweet and spicy spare ribs and it didn't disappoint. Creme brûlèe was a lush desert to have too. Friendly and helpful staff. Totally recommended! :)

I stumbled upon the vegan restaurant Wit-lof foodbar & hangout almost accidentally, lured in by the enticing menu and wide array of options for gluten-free meals. Little did I know it was a fully vegan establishment! However, I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate, particularly the delicious glazed carrots. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it a must-visit place for anyone in Texel seeking a scrumptious vegan or gluten-free meal.
Absolutely Amazing! This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor is simply perfect – it's comfortable, stylish, and creates a really relaxed vibe. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our visit special. It's clear they genuinely care about their guests. We brought our kids along and they had a blast! The place is definitely kid-friendly, which made our lives so much easier. And let's talk about the food – it was phenomenal! Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. We can't recommend this place enough. It's a must-visit!

Visiting the very first fully vegan restaurant of Texel was a tasty experience. Their shared dining concept is perfect to try a variety of the Ottolenghi-inspired dishes on the menu. We were with a group of five so we got try try almost everything! As a group we were unanimous about our favourites: the kimchijeon pancakes, the witlof tarte tartin and the fried cauliflower. The coquilles made with oyster mushroom and the curry were great as well! Situated in the historical centre of Den Burg, the restaurant has a cosy and colourful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly as well! Highly recommended, also for groups with non-vegans.

We came into this place almost by accident. We saw the menu outside and it looked yummy and with plenty of options for us (my partner is gluten-free and at this point we didn't notice it was a full vegan place!) We really loved everything we ate, with special mention to the glazed carrots 🥕 They were really good! The staff was also super friendly. It is definitely THE PLACE to go if you are in Texel and want to eat a delicious vegan / gluten free meal! If we go back to the island, we will definitely eat there again!

Yummy meal.. and very friendly to everyone. Meat was ok. My pancake was great.
TJ “ — Google review
Went there today with my wife and kids. The atmosphere was okay, and we were seated without much delay. I ordered fries, while my wife and kids went for some pancakes. Strangely, none of us were given any cutlery with our food — a small but annoying oversight. But things got worse. While eating my fries, I bit into one and immediately had an involuntary regurgitating reaction. The smell hit me instantly — and I’m not exaggerating when I say it smelled exactly like horse manure. I didn’t even bite all the way through — I just spat it out immediately. I asked my son to smell it, and without hesitation, the first thing he said was: “horse manure.” My wife also confirmed the smell — it was unmistakable. Let’s just say I didn’t finish the rest of my fries. I managed to isolate the fry that had the issue — all the others seemed totally fine. But obviously, that one piece ruined the whole experience. I took it to the man at the counter and asked him to smell it. To his credit, he did — and he agreed something was definitely off. I watched as he took it back to the kitchen, and both he and the cook inspected and smelled it. He returned a few minutes later saying they weren’t sure what it was. They checked the oil but couldn’t identify the issue. Fair enough — I appreciate the honesty. But the damage was already done. I can’t shake the fact that I was mid-meal, enjoying my food, and then all of a sudden I had the unmistakable taste and smell of something that resembled manure in my mouth. That’s an absolutely dreadful experience, and it completely ruined my appetite for the rest of the day. Honestly, I can't give this place many stars — even if everything else had been the best meal my family or I had ever eaten (which it wasn’t). That one awful fry was enough to throw the entire experience off. Imagine going to a restaurant and being served the best steak you’ve ever had, 10/10, but then they include a side that tastes and smells like something straight from a stable. What are you going to rate that restaurant? Exactly.
Adam P — Google review
The first time we didn't think much of it; mistakes can happen. But then it happened a second time. The food is good, if you manage to get any. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes for them to take your drink order. Even when you can literally see the waiters doing nothing or chatting amongst eachother. Today we waited 40 full minutes before someone came to ask us if we had already ordered drinks. We were told they were closing this section of the terrace, but didn't ask us to move? So if anything it just made us feel not welcome. To add insult to injury since they were the ones who made us wait till they wanted to close the section to take our drink order. We were also told that it would be another 45 minute wait for pancakes? The place was nowhere near full and all the tables we could see already had had their food so the wait seemed rediculous. In the end i opted out of eating and just wanted a drink, my bf ordered an omelette sandwich. The damn sandwich came faster than our cola's?! In fact my bf was 3/4 of the way through his sandwich by the time a clearly annoyed waitress finally decided to slam down our drinks without even saying hello nevermind any aplologies for the close to full hour of our day we wasted just waiting as the servers were doing nothing. Us locals will definetly not be coming back for a 3rd time and I can't recommend anyone who values their time or likes feeling welcome to come here.

Located in the heart of the village, Bistro 't Kerckeplein offers a range of delicious dishes served with a selection of fine wines in a charming setting. Their carefully curated menu features a variety of authentic Texel specialties, such as lamb from Boerderij Hoogvliet and top-quality beef from locally grazed cows. Situated in the historic center of Oosterend, this cozy restaurant provides an enjoyable dining experience with excellent value for money.
The restaurant is in a former cave and gives a special style, authentic. The lamb meat is perfectly cooked and they have different variety of lambs. We also took a local beef & a local beer. They greets the guests with a recipe of biterballen & bouillon with local lamb, which was perfect. Service was nice too & price (around 20€/main dish) is ok. 5 stars without any hesitation!

Beach pavillion
Restaurant
Strandpaviljoen Paal 12 is a charming and cozy establishment located near the Texel beaches. It offers a variety of warm pavilions where visitors can relax after engaging in activities like swimming or walking by the sea. One highly recommended treat is their delightful hot chocolate milk topped with whipped cream, perfect for rejuvenating oneself. The restaurant stands out for its extensive vegan menu, offering more than 10 dishes to choose from.
The best place on Texel to watch the sunset! Drop by for a beer or coffee after taking a walk on the beach. They serve great food with friendly service. The interior style really fits the surroundings, it has a beachy, natural atmosphere.

Hello. We came to this place and decided to seat outside. Then I went to check how restaurant looks inside and some not polite woman met me. She said I prohibit to see inside because of the privacy of guests seated inside. Absolutely strange situation and awful service this woman provided.

I don’t often review places but this pavilion was definitely beyond my expectations. Really lovely location but above all incredible food. Really gastronomically exquisite not just like any other beach bar where you just get fries and a burger. Really amazing menu with plenty vegetarian and vegan options and great service, friendly people :) Nice to see that they had gender neutral bathrooms too!

This is one of the better Pavilions in the summer. Also a nice place to take a walk on the beach.

Unfortunately, the service is very sloppy. We had mixed orders, items replaced without previous notice, mojitos that did not even resemble the real thing. The views are cool but that's it.

HAVN is a restaurant located in the historical city of Hoorn, where chef Robin Blauw brings together international flavors he discovered during his travels to Mexico, the United States, and Thailand. The restaurant has gained popularity for its surprising and delicious dishes, as well as its friendly and efficient staff. Visitors can enjoy a unique dining experience at HAVN's chef's table while witnessing the kitchen team's harmonious work with the waiters.
Great wine and food experience. We were 7 people and took the Robins Route (Chefs menue). Really creative and tasty! The wine recommandations were perfect and in our budget. Thanks to the HAVN team for a great evening.

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. This chef here is a master of flavor—every dish was thoughtfully designed and creative, with a global touch that pairs traditional seasonings with influences from South America and Asia. Super delicious. Yes, portions are small—for a family of three, we ordered 3 snacks, 4 small plates and 2 large plates as well as dessert. But the intense, focused flavors mean that you do need huge quantities—the technique and skill here is impressive. Do not miss the octopus or the quail—both exceptional. The interior space is beautifully designed—sit outside near the canal and enjoy vistas of this gorgeous town.

The food was absolutely outstanding and the staff was so lovely. The atmosphere inside was so pleasant. This may have been one of the best meals I’ve had in my life - definitely top 5!
Cheyanne B — Google review
We spontaneously stopped by on our bikes this evening (Friday) and wanted to grab a bite to eat with our 3.5-year-old daughter. The wait staff offered us a table outside, even though we hadn't made a reservation, which we were very happy about. The quality of the food was excellent (see the two attached photos); if we were to claim otherwise, it would be untrue. The service, however, was not good; my wife received a dish she hadn't ordered. Furthermore, there were no napkins with the cutlery, and in the end, we had to wait 25 minutes for the dishes to be cleared away (after we drew attention to ourselves). We would have liked to order dessert if we'd had the chance... My wife and I asked the staff about it and received the following reply: "I've already cleared the dirty dishes, and I'm sorry, but we're busy today." If there aren't enough staff on a Friday, I, as a restaurateur, have to ensure that no additional guests are invited to the table without reservations. However, this doesn't excuse the server's inaccurate behavior (no napkins, wrong dish, etc.)!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was friendly and professional, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff went above and beyond by arranging a table outside when they noticed the weather was nice. I highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience!

The HAVN is a very nice restaurant in a great location. We found that the portions were ridiculously tiny. We could have eaten our lunch in one mouthful. We do not eat a lot but this was so tiny for the cost of the bill . Really dissatisfied

The stars are for the location (beautiful view and stunning bike ride through the dunes) and the music (relaxing 80's 90's). Zero stars for the unwelcoming hostess, owner and staff. Food was below bare minimum standard. We each paid 22 euro for a snackbar level burger. A small portion of equally just-okay fries and salad comes with the burger. Small portions of each (especially considering the price), which we were surprised to learn were expected to share between us two. Chaotic despite not being busy. Maybe the staff was stressed, but even so, left asap. High prices are fine, mediocre food is fine, poor service is fine. But this hit the trifecta. Enjoy a drink here and move on for dinner.
Laura H — Google review
Nice location and music, attractive decor, amazing view. Food is pretty mid though, and as such, way overpriced. The rude staff didn’t make the experience any better. Shame.
Chris K — Google review
Great location and food. No problems getting a table for 8 during a busy summer's day. Had to wait upward of 30 minutes on our order, which seemed a bit much. Other than that, would recommend.
Stefan W — Google review
My partner wanted to eat on the beach. So we went here. I think this place just doesn't like tourists much. Staff seemed focussed on a few locals that sat outside boozing. We walked up, trying to make up our mind wether to sit outside or in. Staff ignored us. Walked inside looking around and ended up asking at the bar for a table. Part of the welcome was to jank open one of the sliding doors right in front of us because apparently you need to sit right in the draft if you eat inside. Nice selection of beers on tap. Strange though that when I declined a second one because I was driving they don't offer anything else. Most modern restaurants have softdrinks and even an alcohol free beer or two but this place seems to offer only beer and wine. Food... we decided to skip the starters and went straight to the boneless chicken for two. Seems to be some kind of ballotine which was finished under the grill. Not bad actually. Fries were ok. Salad was scattered with some croutons from a cheap bag. After that the draft and the poor service didn't make me want dessert. Had some really nice coffee instead. All in all our experience could best be described as "meh"
Jeroen W — Google review
The ambiance is very nice but if you have escargots in the menu, even if not a lot of people order, the day someone do, the restaurant should be prepared. No cutlery for that, they gave a normal fork, impossible to take the escargots out of the shell with such a big fork, I ask for an appropriated one and they give me a dessert fork (?) Having to fight against a shell to take the escargot out, the food is already not cheap, is too much asking for a normal escargot fork? It was really upsetting, specially at 12h when you are hungry

Fantastic place in the woods, especially on a sunny day. It is a self service but that is ok. It is easily accessible by car or bicycle. Also great for a hike or bicycle ride through the forest.

A nice place in the woods with a lot of space for the kids to play. We were here the last few years. But they raised the prices for a kids menu from last year 5.5€ to 7.5€. Yes, there is inflation, but not 36%. Additionally, it was not enough for our 8 year old, he requested an additional kids menu.

A nice spot on the edge of the forest near the dunes. The fries are an acquired taste, not the normal french fries, but some kind of deep fried potato puree. I kind of happen to like it, my kids don't. The kroketten could be better. But hey, if you are hungry, it's a great place to be.

During the fall and winter months, it offers a quieter atmosphere, making it perfect for family outings or special celebrations like Sinterklaas. Kids can enjoy playful interactions with characters like the Piets while parents relax at the cozy coffee bar that serves snacks and drinks.
My daughter absolute favorite place. We coming here during the fall and winter time. Last year we celebrated the Sinterklaas here. And the Piets were playing with the children. Made them very happy. We go both the pool and the indoor playground as well. The pool is full of fun for small children and the indoor playground as well. During fall and winter time is very quiet.

Great place for kids... Also a gezellig coffee bar where everybody can drink or eat something. Alternatively, they have also a free open door place for kids. Only if, the access to the inner playground is through electric doors that close with a bit too much strength.....
José N — Google review
The facility is simple yet enjoyable for toddlers. However, the water temperature felt quite cold for me as an adult, and my 2-year-old also seemed chilly, as I immediately noticed his chin trembling. The changing rooms are quite small—perhaps manageable for older kids, but far too cramped when trying to change with a toddler. Aside from this, the place appeared relatively clean, though the stairs at the pool entrance were covered with hair and dirt, which was a bit off-putting.

Very friendly and good service. Food was delicious, didn't take long. Menu card as an app was only available in dutch, but the employees were very helpful and spoke perfect english. A place to avoid at all costs. I am not sure how this place has such a high rating to be honest. Our first (and last) visit on a Sunday, the food looked dubious but we chanced it and tried a burger we shared. The fries were undercooked the meat overcooked and waiting time was about 30min. We ordered drinks: half of the order (we were two people and ordered two drinks) was wrong and not replaced. I had not finished my big bottle of sparkling water and was prevented from taking the bottle with me. The manager of the restaurant went to even chase me down the street…saying it was forbidden…I offered to pay for the costs of the actual glass recycling deposit or to be given a container to take the water with me ( the bottle was almost full) to no avail - I was only offered two small glasses that didn’t close at 1 euro each… So yeah a place to avoid
Sarah — Google review
Had lunch at the cozy outdoor terrace. The food is tasty, and the portions are large compared to the usual small sizes usually served in Dutch restaurants. The order is placed via the website; unfortunately, it took more than 30 minutes to receive it. However, the drinks are served very quickly. By the time the food arrives, the drink is gone. It would be advised to serve food faster and coordinate the timing with the drinks better.

After 43 minutes of sitting at a table, after 20 minutes after asking for the waiter, he came and told us the kitchen closed 5 minutes ago. So, zero stars for service, zero for the food. I visited with some friends about two weeks ago. Unfortunately, three out of the four of us ended up with food poisoning afterward. It's a real shame, as the place looked very promising online, but when we arrived, it was a completely different picture. Burning down the pavilion and then trying to rebuild it in such a short time just doesn’t seem realistic. And to be allowed to reopen in its current state is highly questionable. It still looks like a construction site so it’s no surprise that proper hygiene standards couldn’t be maintained. In my opinion, this pavilion should definitely not have been allowed to reopen yet. The only positive aspect of our visit was the spanish speaking waiter.

Ended up being much better than we expected. We went there in the middle of high season/summer, mainly because it was the only restaurant close by when on the beach. However, the place ended up exceeding our expectations. It’s more spacious than it looks, the outdoor area is nicel shaded, and the bathrooms were clean enough. Obsessed with their volle melk. As a kid, my dad would take me to his hometown in the Peruvian Andes, and someone would've just milked a cow. It was boiled and immediately served. That creaminess, I've rarely found anywhere else. Novalishoeve has it. The cows look pretty well taken care of, and the animals have a lot of space. Their cappuccinos are also to die for! The staff is a bit shy about their English but other than that, no bad service. Can't say enough good things about this place.

Amazing organic, local food. Almost everything comes from the farm, the meat, the milk, the cheese, the bread, the ice-cream etc. We had a burger, a ham and cheese sandwich, a appletart, a carrotcake, a cappucino and ice cream. It is homemade, organic and tasty. It is also quite cheap as we paid 30€ for all of that, which is great value for money. The place is very agreable, with a space for kids to play. The owners are also very welcoming and friendly.

(Translated by Google) What a great time we had at the boules club! We were a group of 17 people and even arrived two hours earlier than planned. That was absolutely no problem! They were super flexible. We had our own tap, which was of course great. A beer while playing boules, pool or other games, perfect! And if we wanted to change something to our appointments? It could be arranged without any hassle. The staff was also really friendly and the food was good. Everything was arranged down to the last detail for such a large group. Highly recommended if you want a fun afternoon or evening with friends! If you're on the hunt for a delicious pizza experience, look no further than Papa John's Pizza. This popular take-out and delivery chain is renowned for its classic and specialty pizzas that cater to every palate. You can indulge in a mouthwatering medium pizza measuring 25 centimeters, perfect for satisfying your cravings. To elevate your meal, consider adding some (vegan) hot dog scrolls alongside a refreshing soda. With such tempting options, it's easy to see why Papa John's has gained worldwide acclaim!
Made the wrong pizza. Burned it. Just threw some pepperoni on and said "here you go", with a literal black hole burned in it. Asked if they were proud of this pizza. Said "yes, very proud, you're gonna love it".... Not good enough.

I would've been happy to give this pizza place a 5-star review but unfortunately the non-existent communication and connection issues for home delivery are very disappointing. Several times the website and app does not work, I have been unable to expand on the menu to make sure of what I'm offering. To get better information and place my order, the number is never in service and nobody picks up (Haarlem Branch). Today especially, I was hoping to order with my friends to celebrate a special occassion and naturally - unreachable. Papa John's has truly always been a favorite food joint, even back home. Extremely disappointing. Not sure if I will bother trying again. If you are lucky enough to live within walking distance of an outlet, maybe you will have a better experience.

They might be laundering money and doing no business otherwise there is no way a pizza delivery can take more than 1.5 hour. Unbelievable! Google & Ubereats should remove this place from their records!
Mehmet C — Google review
How is this place still open, I’ve been waiting for 2 hours. Still nothing. According to the person on the phone they only have two employees. I’ve only ordered a single large pizza and a dessert. This is a shame, whoever owns this franchise location is clearly milking it for profits while taking advantage of the brand without living up to the expected quality and service. I will try and spread the word to make sure no one orders from this place again. Corporate Papa Johns, if you’re reading this, you lost another client to Dominos. Finally, 2,5 hours later I get my order, incomplete. What a joke.
Gabriel G — Google review
Waited over 90 min. for 2 pizzas. Paid extra for bigger pizzas and got regular size. Pizza came already a bit cold and not tasty. Overall really dissapointing.
Filip V — Google review
I should have read reviews before I order. It has been 2 hours I still don’t have my pizza yet. Every time I call, they said 20 mins or 10 mins but every time more than 45 mins waiting still no pizza!!! And now it’s said almost there I cannot cancel !! What a shame! This place should not be in business anymore! Never trust them if they say they will deliver soon, just a lie!
Lifeng W — Google review
One of the worst pizzas I’ve had. Just pretty tasteless and only 5 small pieces of pepperoni on a whole pizza. You’re paying for pretty much just dough and nothing else. This was the first and last time I’ve ordered here
Dynamix — Google review
We used to order at Papa Johns regularly, the Pizza is ok but this weekend we had such a bad experience with the service and waited 2,5 hours for our order. Which is not worth it. We ordered for fast delivery within 30 min, when nothing arrived after an hour we gave them a call. The lady on the phone said the driver just left and will be there any minute. After another 30 min, we called again and they figured that the driver gave the order to someone else - this can happen, so we asked if they can prepare the order directly and they did offer an extra. They said it will be sent out within 15 min. After another full hour, we just wanted to call to cancel the order but the driver did then arrive. An order mess-up can happen, but after they have been made aware of this, they should have put some priority on fixing their mistake, but they unfortunately did not care.

Nestled on the edge of the Bergense forest and the stunning North Holland dunes, Duinvermaak is a charming restaurant that has been delighting visitors since 1913. Celebrating its centenary recently, this family-friendly spot specializes in delicious pancakes and pizzas, making it an ideal destination for those with little ones. The menu boasts a variety of sweet and savory pancakes alongside hearty pizzas and fresh salads.
Wow, this place knows how to make their pancakes (pannenkoeken). The bacon-cheese pancakes are really top and basically is 9.5/10. The quantity of bacon is very generous and the cheese on top is crunchy as it should be. This pancake was so enjoyable to eat. The apple pancake is also good (8/10), slight improvement would be a bit more apple. This restaurant is in my opinion the second best pancake place in North Holland, and in the top 5 of the Netherlands. This place is worth passing by even if it is a deviation from your route. The restaurant is next to the dunes and there is a forest closeby that make the location have a great atmosphere. The waiters are very kind! Also, there apple juice is of good quality! The only downside is that there are some Germans smoking at the tables.
F. N — Google review
I love to come here to eat a traditional pannenkoek, the position is really nice close to the Dutch dunes. The stuff is really kind and despite it might get a bit long before you get the meal (if it's completely full), you can enjoy the building or nature if you are sitting outside. I recommend this place!

Quite a unique place, which you’ll find just before the end of the city limits in Bergen. This place is family friendly, especially if you bring little kids. The staff is very friendly the food good. They have an extensive selection of sweet and hearty pancakes, Pizzas as well as some salads as a main dish. If you wish to reserve a table, you are being charged €1.50 per person, which I personally found rather odd. Definetely a nice place to go to!

Charming country restaurant in an old Dutch villa, serving delicious homemade pizzas, lasagna and pancakes (sweet and savory), with big playground on the side of the building. They also have a large parking lot just across the street. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The kid's menu is a bit limited, so we ended up getting a pizza Margherita for my daughter. The other, bigger problem, was that because it was weekend and dinner time, a lot of older kids (12-15 years old) were running unattended and playing with a football ball, which made us very nervous for our toddler's safety. Nothing happened, but it would be nice if they wouldn't allow teenagers on the playground, or at least not with balls.

Beachclub Fuel is renowned for its laid-back atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and stunning views. Open seven days a week, it offers a delightful spot for lunch, dinner, or casual drinks. Additionally, it's an ideal venue for corporate events, parties, or intimate gatherings. Guests have praised the friendly service and cozy ambiance. The location near the beach allows for outdoor or indoor seating with a great view of the sunset during dinner.
Awesome place, friendly and accomodating service. For those who have the mental energy to take 10 more steps along the concreted pave, than the rest of the crowd (seems a challenge these days). Tranquility, lounging on a sunny April sunday, 1st opening week of the 2025 season instead of sitting at a crowded place.

Great cocktail menu and the food is nice enough- your average beach bar quality.
Amanda M — Google review
Went there on a Saturday noon and had a very decent experience. We sat at Bronze Beach next door for half an hour first, but nobody came to our table. Even though it was not very busy and ordering inside was not possible. They said they'd sent someone to take our order, but instead we could just watch the staff having long chats. After an extended waiting period without anyone approaching us we moved next door to the Fuel which is basically the same venue with a almost identical menu. I think even the owners might be the same. For some reason the staff here was the complete opposite: Aware, attentive and overall delightful. We got our food and drinks quickly and everything was very decent. Nothing to write home about though. It's a standard beach cafe so we didn't expect much and that is what we became. The view of the ocean is nice enough. I was thinking if 4 or 5 stars would be sufficient for the rating but went for 4, because there is not really anything for this place to stand out of the endless rows of beach cafes. This doesn't mean this place is bad, it's actually good, there is just nothing remarkable about it. If you're in the neighborhood and want coffee, beer or some bitterballen give this place a try.

Mooie Boules Haarlem is a fantastic place just outside the city center where you can enjoy a night out with friends. The ambience is top-notch, with plenty of well-arranged space and an impressive selection of food that you can easily order through a QR code. The venue also offers board games for all ages, adding to the fun atmosphere.

Such a nice and relaxed place with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors—perfect for enjoying good weather. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and there were plenty of entertaining games to enjoy. Unfortunately, a few menu items were sold out during our visit, but overall it was a lovely experience.
Ingrid X — Google review
I recently visited Mooie Boules Haarlem with a friend, I am a very loyal customer of this place, and we had a very troubling experience. While my friend was drinking a glass of wine, they suddenly cut their tongue on the glass, and there was blood. We immediately called the waiter, but his response was very unprofessional, saying it was the first time something like this had happened. We asked to speak with someone in charge, and the manager, Lars, contacted a doctor over the phone. Lars took our phone numbers, assuring us that they would call to follow up, especially since we were concerned my friend might have ingested some glass. He also mentioned that the boss, Manta, would get in touch the next day. However, it's been three days, and no one has reached out or checked on my friend. It's clear that this place prioritizes profits over customer safety. The lack of follow-up and concern is disappointing, and I can no longer recommend this place.

Great pétanque courts here in an amazing venue that is spacious and has one of the best all day sunny terraces overlooking the water. Playing jeux de boules here is legit. The court has a good size, the sand works well with the balls, and the wooden scoring system is the finishing touch. The terrace outside is amazing. Efficient ordering and they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options here from burgers to different rice dishes with tempeh, sate tofu and gyoza. Even worth it coming here just for drink or some bites.

It was just a quick visit but I’m definitely coming back to experience more. It’s one of those places where you can spend easily hours having great food, great fun and what’s most important - plenty of perfectly arranged space. The ambience is top. Food on the menu looks awesome. You order it by scanning QR code - fast & easy. This time I just had coffee and vegetarian bitterballen (very tasty). There are 2 cabinets filled with board games for all ages. You of course can play pétanque. There is a huge outside terrace by the water, where you can also have some entertainment (e.g. big chess). Car parking is just next to it.
Ania S — Google review
A great place for an evening of Boules, food, and drink. The Boules lanes are a good size, and with 5 of them the chances are that as we found out, you can likely extend your time if you need to finish another game (or two). The prices are reasonable for 90 minutes and the drinks are the standard price for Haarlem.

Forgot a letter with gift cards here. When I asked my friend to come pick up the items, he was told that they keep my belongings in a safe, and that the person responsible was not at the establishment. I was told to come in person and call them at 17:00 on the day of my visit. Their suggestion to call them during work hours results in hitting the answering machine. After emailing several times within 2 months they stopped replying. First email was March 27th. Terrible service, still haven't heard back from them. Calling them is useless, I'm eternally on hold. Shame on you for putting up so many obstacles to pick up a piece of plastic!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We celebrated our American-style wedding barbecue at De Bolle Buik, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Marvin and his team ran the day with grace, ease, and absolute precision. From our first conversation to the final bite of dessert, every detail was handled with care and professionalism. They were warm, accommodating, and flexible with every request—not just for us, but for our guests of all ages. The setting was ideal for a celebration like ours: fun for the kids (with zip lines, a paddling pool, mini golf), relaxing for the adults, and beautiful for everyone. The bathrooms were spotless, the grounds well-maintained, and the food was delicious—from start to finish. Chef Mark is a culinary gem, and the entire staff made our special day even more memorable. We were also blessed with perfect weather, which made the day feel like a gift from start to finish. We had visited other venues prior, including a major hotel, but none matched the heart, hospitality, and cleanliness of De Bolle Buik. It was the right choice in every way. Thank you, Marvin, for helping us create a wedding celebration we—and our family—will never forget. With sincere gratitude, Two very happy Newly Weds 🇺🇸♥️🇳🇱

Went there with our two young kids, both under 5, and the grandparents. Very nice interior and playroom, loved the open kitchen and the atmosphere, that's why they get two stars. However having to wait over an hour for our pancakes is unacceptable, luckily we had ordered our kids pancake with the drinks and got that quicker. Worst thing was that the restaurant was quite empty and two groups of people that arrived and ordered after us were served before. Pancakes were tasty but not for that price and definitely had better ones. Mine was burnt on the bottom but was too hungry to complain. Staff is nice but forgetful and seems to not pay a lot of attention. We did not get to try out the playground outside as the food took so long. Would give them a second chance in a while to see if something has changed.
Sabine W — Google review
Service is notoriously slow, but the crepes are tasty and the kids love playing here. Playing at the playground is free if your group comes to eat. Can also make use of the playground without ordering food for a small entrance fee. Definitely call ahead, because if there are school outings being hosted, the kitchen may not be serving more people. All in all it’s a great place to let the little ones play off their energy and let the adults order some drinks and relax.

I used to like this place, but last time I was there something very weid happened. After having lunch, coffee, etc., I ordered a bottle of water for my 6-year-old daughter. She asked to put the water in her pink unicorn water bottle. A few minutes later, a waitress, who was not the one serving me, came screaming, saying how rude I was for bringing my own water to a restaurant. I calmly explained to her that I've bought the water and showed her the bottle. I explained my child liker her pink bottle. She continued screaming, saying that even so, this was unacceptable. I decided not to try to understand and asked for the check and left. So sad, I liked the place.

Nice place to come with your kids. We ordered a burger but was raw inside so we send it back. Pulled chicken was nice. Also had some glass of wine and normal drinks. But services was not that great. But hé it was more for the kids than for the adults :) No pic without the kids, so i didn't at one. But I added a picture of a nice deal that i saw going to the restroom there. I am certainly coming back to do that without the kids 😉

Was a horrible experience with two little kids. We reserved a table in advance downstairs where the two 1,5 years old can move easily without falling off the stairs. They said everyone wants to sit there so unfortunately not possible. We asked for highchair for the kids, they rudely said is there and pointed to the corner where they are. After we got the drinks ( in a dirty glass )they didn't come to take our order, we had to find someone to do. While we were waiting we put some snacks for the kids to the table ( baby biscuits and rozijn), they told us is not allowed to eat our own food, not even for kids . This place is not family friendly at all! However I think the different treatment was because we were speaking english. Don't recommend for families with little kids!
Viszmeg B — Google review
one of the worst places I've been. After reserving a table for the ground floor we are sent to the first floor and the waitress, who is not happy with my request for an baby chair, points to the floor below and tells me that I can help myself. with the 16 month old baby in my arms I go down the stairs and take the baby chair myself. in the meantime the very kind waitress want takes my friend's order and I wasn't even ON THE TABLE. we were told that it was not allowed to give the food (raisins and biscuits) to the child because it was not bought there. 16 month old child. Don't ever go there, the worst place I've been. Horrible place where go with your child friends and family. 15 euros worse expenses in life.
Martina Z — Google review
Booked a day before. Food and service was ok but dessert was no longer an option. We were turned away after two hours because they took a new reservation for our table. If they had said this in advance we would have booked somewhere else. Not really a good advertisement for this company to come back again.

Great place for bringing kids! There is a huge indoor softplay area and an even bigger outdoor play area. Upstairs is a kids cinema. Big tables to enjoy your lunch while the kids are enjoying themselves 👍

A nice location with fine food, the VR murdergame was fun as well. The only downside was that there was a rather long time between the courses, which might have just been bad luck though. Overall very worthwile but you have to keep in mind that you will be spending at least two and a half hours there.

Great Pannekoeken and nice children's playground. Also rally nice and good staff

Pancakes, basically with whatever you want on top. Thing is: they all taste a bit blank. And every bite is the same. Boring! Service is young, but they repeat the order and everything was on time, at the same time, so good job there. Not flabbergasted by the interior, it's cramped. And in the middle is a big space, full of emptiness... strange, because after you sit in a small spot. However: outside is a very good and nice playing field for the kids, so they will have a blast.
P B — Google review
Waited 45mins to order (only after chasing down a waitress and asking to order)! Then 35mins to receive half burned pancakes that we mildly warm. And now a response from the owner after 7pm that that it’s nonsense! The response is as quick as the staff were at serving us. I did actually go to the kitchen to complain about waiting to order, which is maybe why the pancakes were burnt!
Tony S — Google review
They have a quite decent playground for the kids. For the rest i dont think i should comment just to stay decent.
Evgeny S — Google review
The pancakes are not baked very well. The kids pancakes with chocolate (Nutella) topping are doused so badly that my son did not like it anymore and ate only half due to the amount of topping. The sate was served with just a few small pieces of chicken, some lattice with pineapple out of a can and a few pieces of bread. Overall... The location is worth two stars, the food none.

Really nice, cosy place in between the dunes, minigolf court looks good and the atmosphere is great! We went there spontaneously only to rent bikes which was extremely uncomplicated and made a great tour through the dunes possible! The bikes were good and the staff was really friendly and helpful! We totally recommend the place and would love to come back for minigolf or food some day!

It's a shame we only discovered the place on our last day of vacation. (Original) Es war sooo schön! Ein sehr leckeres Getränk, tolle Pfannekuchen und herzliche Menschen. (Translated by Google) We went with the kids for an afternoon of mini golf. What a wonderfully peaceful spot, surrounded by lush greenery. Beautifully landscaped courses, and plenty for the kids to play afterward if you'd like a snack or drink. Friendly staff, and as an added bonus, they even helped us cut through the lock on our bike. It wouldn't open at all just as we were about to head home. Highly recommended.

(Translated by Google) Disappointing experience at De Beleving Our visit to De Beleving was unfortunately very disappointing. Upon arrival, there was dirty cutlery on the table, which I immediately noticed before sitting down. The waitress picked it up but didn't say anything about it. That didn't make a good first impression. I also ordered a glass of blackcurrant, which wasn't sparkling at all. When I pointed this out later and ordered another glass of blackcurrant, I received another glass without any sparklers. That was very disappointing. We were also served a wooden stirrer in the cola, which was very strange and unnecessary. The food itself was fine, but the hygiene left much to be desired. There was toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom and the toilet seat was dirty, even though the restaurant had just opened. That didn't give a fresh impression. A positive aspect was the friendly staff, but all in all, our experience wasn't what we had hoped for. Hopefully, more attention will be paid to hygiene and the quality of the drinks.

(Translated by Google) We ate here on Sunday, July 28th, with nine people. The food was delicious. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented, tasted wonderful, and the warmth, etc., was good. Downsides: it's very dark in there; I had to read the menu with my phone's flashlight. And, quite understandably given the beautiful weather, the fans were on, but combined with the open doors, they created a drafty, cold atmosphere...we didn't do anything about it, otherwise it would probably have gotten very warm inside. It's affordable, and the staff was very friendly! When we paid, we also gave a nice compliment and a generous tip!

We had lunch there today afternoon and ate Broodje Pikante Kip (chicken sandwich), Brooke De Rog (cheese and ham sandwich) and toasty ham and cheese. For desert Dame Blanche and Homemade Brownie with Ice Cream. Everything was delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful too. After having an excellent experience on lunch we reserved a table for dinner tonight. This review will be updated after dinner tonight 😋. Highly recommended and must try food on the island.

Great place to have a drink after a beach day. Had the bitterballen with a variety of beers. Best bitterballen I've had in a while🙌

Great spot when going to the beach or for a walk. Service was friendly, but it took nearly an hour to get our lunch on the table. The food itself was mediocre at best. Toast with cheese had charred edges, fried egg messy with sub-par ham, and a piece of pie distinctly similar to supermarket offerings. Next time we'll leave it at some drinks and just enjoy the nautical vibes.
