Restaurant
Mama's Fish House, located on Maui's north shore, is a renowned local landmark offering a seafood-driven Hawaiian menu and stunning ocean views. The restaurant has received accolades such as being a semi-finalist for the 2018 James Beard Foundation Awards and ranking as the second most popular restaurant in the U.S. on OpenTable. With daily farm-to-table deliveries, their menus constantly change to showcase fresh, locally caught fish as the star of the show.
Mamma’s Fish House truly delivers on the experience — the food is fresh and beautifully prepared, the drinks are excellent, and the service is warm and attentive. Everything feels polished and full of aloha spirit. That said, the price point doesn’t quite match up — it’s definitely on the higher end, and some of the dishes feel a bit overpriced, which makes it seem more about the hype than pure value. Still, the overall experience, atmosphere, and views make it worth visiting at least once. It’s a Maui classic and a must-do spot on the island for anyone who wants to enjoy a memorable meal in a stunning setting.

Just finished a 5 day trip to Maui w my wife and this was an absolute highlight. One of the tougher reservations to get, booked ours far in advance, expectations were high — i was worried. After eating here & experiencing the service, I now understand what the hype is about. You can see this isn’t just a restaurant , it’s an institution & has this refined confidence about them — been here for years, they have perfected the service & food offering. Complimentary valet, a beautiful private beach, and a great ratio of staff to guests. My wife, 25 weeks pregnant & eats plant based, had many options curated for her & i can genuinely say, being from California where vegan food is plentiful, she’s never had more options at a traditionally seafood heavy restaurant than she did at mamas. 3 different entree’s, custom & thoughtful adjustments — our server maile made us feel comfortable from the minute we sat down. The Maui onion tomato salad w/ the 18 year balsamic is something I’ll be making in the future as it was just simple & executed perfectly — again, refined confidence. I also got the octopus dish that was well seasoned and had bright flavors to it - would recommend. There was a hiccup in my wife’s entree & it was handled superbly — immediately took the dish back, expedited a new dish, and when it came out, they gave me a sauce to rewarm my meal as they saw i waited for my wife’s food to come out. Just awareness you don’t see that often. I got the stuffed amberjack w crab & lobster w macadamia hit crust and it just blew me away — simply the best. We had such a good time we bought a t shirt !

This place was awesome! So many people told us to go here when we were in Maui and it did not disappoint! The view was incredible and the food was delicious! Their cocktails are amazing too! Brad took great care of us and was kind enough to take a photo of us when we asked him. They even gave us a thoughtful note at the table since they knew we were on our honeymoon! Would definitely recommend. Make sure to get a reservation early as in before you even leave for your trip! They fill up quick. Also go during the day or at least before it gets dark so you can enjoy the view!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Best Dining Experience of the Year From the moment we arrived at Mama’s Fish House, everything felt special. Valet parking was seamless, we were warmly greeted, and our hostess led us to a beautiful booth with a stunning ocean view. To celebrate our honeymoon, the restaurant even placed a personalized placard at our table — such a thoughtful touch. Despite being one of the busiest restaurants on the island, the atmosphere at our table was calm, relaxed, and perfectly timed. Drinks never sat empty, dishes arrived with precision, and if the staff felt rushed, we would have never known it. The service was flawless — warm, attentive, and truly seamless. The food? Absolutely spectacular. Every bite was fresh, creative, and perfectly prepared. From start to finish, you could tell this was fine dining at its peak, but still carried that casual, beachside warmth that makes it feel authentically Maui. Reservations are a must — we booked three months in advance, and it was more than worth it. Even though it took us an hour to drive there from where we were staying, I would happily make that drive every day if it meant dining here again. If you’re visiting Maui or have something special to celebrate, Mama’s Fish House is the place. This is the pinnacle of what dining should be: thoughtful, welcoming, delicious, and unforgettable. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

We had multiple friends recommend Mama’s when we said we were going to Maui. I was a little worried it might be overrated after seeing some comments on Facebook, but it was not overrated. I was contacted a couple days before the reservation to ask my husband’s name (so they could put it on the card on our table). There is mandatory valet parking. Every person that greeted us after valet congratulated us for our honeymoon. We were given a table right by the window with a stunning view. You are given bread & soup shot. For an appetizer, we ordered the crispy kanpachi collar. For entrees, we ordered the Mama's Ahi And Mahi-Mahi Curry & Hawaiian Kanpachi With Lobster And Crab In A Macadamia Nut Crust. We did not have any room for dessert. No, the food was not cheap, but it was absolutely delicious & is a lot of food. The waiter was so nice to take a few photos of us. The restaurant is also by a cute beach & we were able to see a sea turtle! I definitely would recommend Mama’s to anyone coming to Maui!
Nicole L — Google review
Incredible meal, incredible views, incredible service. We had the crab cakes and lobster bisque to start, the curry(always on the menu), whole line caught fish with a black bean reduction. They offered fried fish nuggets and buttered noodles for the little one. Crisp and creme brulee for dessert. Everything was prepared and presented to perfection. The view was from our table. After dinner it is just feet away from the beach for sunset views. No turtles when we were there but I've heard they are frequent visitors. Mama's is a complete experience and you should expect the cost to reflect the quality you are going to receive. Complimentary valet parking but remember to tip the staff. They are hustling to park everyone in a very small lot. If you're going to Maui, make your reservations MANY months in advance, save up, and enjoy this incredible experience.

We stumbled upon Mama’s Fish House while heading toward Ho’okipa Beach Lookout and decided to try it for lunch after seeing the massive number of glowing reviews. It absolutely lived up to its reputation. When we pulled in, the valet-only parking felt unusual at first, but it quickly made sense—this place runs like a well-oiled machine. The valet team directs all traffic and only allows parking for actual diners, which keeps everything organized during their constantly full service. We arrived around 2pm and were told there were no seats available but that we could check back in about 45 minutes. We drove to Ho’okipa Lookout, killed a little time, and when we returned we were seated right away. Seamless experience. We sat in the lounge area—not directly beachfront—but still had a great atmosphere and view. Prices are definitely high, but the food and service justify it. We started with drinks: a Mai Tai and a specialty cocktail. For appetizers, we ordered the prawns wrapped in wonton and the beef served inside a papaya. Both were outstanding—perfectly cooked prawns and an incredibly flavorful beef dish that ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. For mains, we had the mahi-mahi and a salad, and both were exceptional. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Our server was fantastic—great at describing the dishes and using language that genuinely enhanced the anticipation. To top it off, after lunch we walked down to the beach and spotted a turtle resting on the shoreline, which was the perfect ending to an already amazing experience. Overall, Mama’s Fish House is pricey, but the food, service, and entire atmosphere make it absolutely worth it. A true Maui must-do.

Our group loved every moment of our experience at Mama’s Fish House. From the moment we arrived, the warm aloha spirit, stunning ocean views, and beautifully curated atmosphere made us feel like we’d stepped into something truly special. The food was absolutely superb — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented. You can truly taste the care and local pride in every bite. The service was equally impressive — attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced, making the whole evening feel effortless and relaxed. Mama’s Fish House is more than just a meal; it’s an experience — one that captures the heart and beauty of Maui. We left full, happy, and already dreaming of our next visit!

Pie shop
Restaurant
Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop is a charming counter-serve cafe located in Lahaina, offering farm-fresh American cuisine and delectable handmade baked goods. The restaurant boasts a cozy atmosphere inspired by Hawaiian plantations, where guests can indulge in a variety of savory and sweet dishes. From fresh tuna salad sandwiches to house-baked breads and locally sourced ingredients, the menu showcases an array of 'grandma comfort food' favorites.
JUST GO! It is worth it! Don’t be scared of how busy it might be. The line moves fast and wow that banana cream pie I will have dreams of!!! Loved my club sandwich and the Ruben! All of the pies were good but I’m a sucker for banana cream. Food trucks are next store if you want pizza or something else.
Hartley L — Google review
Stopped by Leoda’s Pie Shop and tried a few of their mini pies: banana cream, strawberry no-bake cheesecake, and the lemon/lime pie. The banana cream pie is definitely a must-try really flavorful banana base and great crust. My only note is that it had way too much cream on top. If they balanced that out a bit more, it would’ve been perfect. The strawberry cheesecake was a miss for me. It was mostly just whipped cream and glaze, with barely any cheesecake texture or flavor. It looked nice but tasted overly sweet and didn’t have much depth. Wouldn’t get that one again. The lime pie was just too sour for my taste. If you don’t like very tart desserts, this one probably isn’t for you but that’s more of a personal preference. I’d definitely come back to try the coconut pie next time, and I’d 100% get the banana cream again maybe just scrape off some of that cream!

Absolutely Divine Apple Crumble Pie I just had a slice of the apple crumble pie, and I can confidently say this is one of the best desserts I've ever tasted! The flavor profile is an absolute masterclass in balance. The filling is perfectly sweet, with a deep, caramelized apple flavor that is utterly satisfying. But what elevates this pie is the unexpected, delightful touch of a slight saltiness that cuts through the sweetness just enough to keep it from being cloying, enhancing the fruit's natural sugars. And then there's the bright, zesty hint of lemon. It provides a refreshing tang that brightens the entire experience, making each bite feel vibrant and fresh. The crumble topping deserves a special mention, too—it's wonderfully buttery, crisp, and crunchy, providing a fantastic textural contrast to the soft, tender apple slices beneath. If you're looking for an apple pie that goes beyond the ordinary, offering a complex and utterly delicious blend of sweet, salty, and lemony flavors, look no further. Highly, highly recommend!

Great food, great atmosphere and great service. We noticed this place on the way to our hotel in Lahaina and so glad we stopped. Such a cool little unassuming place with great food. Under the long canopies of Monkey pod trees this place is definitely worth stopping for lunch and desert. Get there earlier if you want the full selection of pies, they’ll sell out by the afternoon so get there an hour or two after they open for their full menu.

Great local place to grab lunch or a quick dinner. Food was fantastic! The cucumber/avocado sandwich was huge. It was stacked with other veggies also. I took half to my accomodation with me for later. The pineapple coleslaw was also wonderful. The pies are good also.

Wonderful casual place that has very good food. I had a chef salad & my husband had a BLT. We ordered 4 pies to come back to the hotel w/ us. 2 PB, 1 Banana Creme Pie & a Choc Macadamia Pie. All delish!!

While traveling down the Honoapiilani Highway from the South side of the Island to Napili Bay, we decided to make a stop at the local store for a cold drink and a sweet treat at the adjacent pie shop. Having visited Maui over 35 times, I can’t believe I have never stopped here having driven by at least 100 times. And boy am I glad I finally did! Welcome to Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop. Tucked in right along the main coastal highway, in the Lahaina Area, this place is a hidden Gem! They have loads of food offerings and amazing pies, fresh baked bread and even banana bread. There is a nice long table with stools for outdoor seating as well as a large number of tables for seating indoors. We luckily landed in between waves of customers and were able to pop right up to the register without delay. We were greeted by super friendly staff, ready to take our order and answer any questions we had. At the ordering station you can clearly see into the clean kitchen, offering a nice glimpse of the delicious food they are preparing and staging to bring to the tables. Today was pie day since we wanted to take something to go to enjoy while we were on the beach. They have a wide variety of pies and even a no bake strawberry pie that another guest reported to us, was super delicious. If you’re looking for a nice spot to enjoy a lunch or dinner, or just a sweet treat along your way around the island, I highly recommend a visit to Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop. I promise you won’t regret it. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and hope you have a lovely time on the island of Maui. Mahalo and Happy Eating! 🤙👍

I had heard this was the place to go for pie. You get a individual 5 inch pies. The pies we got were excellent! They have several different flavors, and they all looked amazing. They also have food, coffee and sodas.

Seafood restaurant
Paia Fish Market Restaurant is a popular eatery located at the corner of Hana Hwy. and Baldwin Ave. It's known for its casual nautical theme and focus on delicious seafood, plate lunches, and fish burgers. The restaurant offers about 6 fresh fish varieties daily, prepared in various ways until they run out. Some favorites include blackened Ahi sashimi and Cajun-style Opah burger with wasabi butter and cheese fries.
The food is great and you will love your food. The fish is fresh and reasonably priced for such a popular tourist spot. I ordered the red snapper sandwich and the homemade tartar sauce was so good, I could have drank it! My husband got the fish tacos and he said they were awesome! Mahalo! However, regardless of what time you come, expect to wait in line at least 20 minutes before being able to place your order. Also, with the windows open and no AC, it can get very hot inside the restaurant. Overall I give it 4.5/5 stars. Highly recommend 👌
Alissa R — Google review
Tried Paia Fish Market on our way back from Hāna — arrived Sunday around lunchtime and, while the line was long, it moved surprisingly fast. They run a tight operation: after ordering, food was served within 5–6 minutes. We ordered the catch of the day (Mahi Mahi) — Cajun-style and blackened — along with rice, Caesar salad, and fried calamari. The fish was undeniably fresh and seasoned to perfection — flavorful and satisfying. However, considering the portion size and pricing, it felt a bit overpriced. Staff were attentive, but not particularly warm — perhaps due to the rush of tourist traffic. Just a heads up: this isn’t your typical laid-back, no-frills island shack — it’s a fast-moving, high-volume operation. Overall, I’d recommend it for the quality of the fish, just set your expectations accordingly when it comes to vibe and price.

The literal best fish sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. Great menu to choose from. Many options on how you want your fish. Everything was fresh. Homemade tartar sauce. You're gonna wish you could take a bucket of it with you. The staff is SO nice. They will take care of you. Also get the local fruit drink. Get it. It's so good. The place is very comfortable. Great stools that actually fit your butt and very clean. Sit at the window bar and you can people watch. We will be going back, definitely. Update: we went back almost every day of our stay.

We were there for a late lunch. The food was good and unique as I had never eaten a ahi burger before. It was good and odd at the same time. The burger had cold slaw on it as well which was gave it a crispy and tasty touch. My wife had fish tacos with cubed fried potatoes and rice. I tried hers as well and it was very good. Have to love crispy cold slaw! The staff was friendly and prompt. There was plenty of seating pic nic style tables. Out door seating as well. Seems like a great place for casual dining occasions. Plenty of parking around back.

Considering there aren’t many places where you can get something actually bearable to eat (for a non-American belly), this spot really stands out. Fresh food, real (not frozen) fries, and a surprisingly not-sweet-as-hell iced tea make it absolutely worth a visit in Paia. Especially since Mama’s Fish House is so overhyped it’s impossible to get in. Eat here instead :)
Mateusz S — Google review
Great place to get fish at very reasonable prices. Went with the mahi-mahi cajun spices and cajun rice. The coleslaw is sooo good, caught me off guard. The fish was super fresh and delicious. There is always a line, but the seating comes up fast. The service is counter and everyone is friendly. Super happy we stopped in here. You should too!
TheDoug801 — Google review
The food was delicious! It is pricey but you do get a lot of food, the portions are big in my opinion. The restaurant itself is small and has limited seating. It also had no air conditioning so your sweating while eating. Regardless I would definitely add this restaurant to your list of places to try while in Maui it was worth the money and wait!

I ordered fish and chips and loved it. I enjoyed the coleslaw but the fries are the typical. We were lucky to get seats after ordering but the line gets very long.

Restaurant
Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman in Wailea, Maui is a farm-to-table restaurant and bar that offers Hawaiian cuisine, beer, and cocktails in a laid-back setting. It's a hit with both tourists and locals, especially the Whalers Village location which is always bustling. The signature Monkeypod Mai Tai made with two types of rum, lime, macadamia nut orgeat, orange curacao, and honey-lilikoi foam is not to be missed.
We had a great experience here recently. The place was busy, but even as a party of 6 we were seated quickly. Most of us indulged in their famous Mai Tais, delicious. The gluten-free options are limited, but our server was knowledgeable about gluten and said the kitchen could support a variety of options. We got the roast chicken wings and fish tacos. Both were very good. While we didn't indulge in cream pie for dessert, our gluten eating friends had slices of the banana and strawberry cream pies. They said they were delicious.
Chris B — Google review
We dined here on our honeymoon and we loved the experience! The ambiance of the restaurant was really fun and it was cool to see all the various cocktails and things on the menu. We got truffle fries and some type of ravioli to start… loved the fries but would not recommend the ravioli. It was a weird texture and overpoweringly cheesy. The drinks and margaritas pizza were great, too! We came for happy hour and our waiter was great! We did feel a little forgotten about at the end of our meal, but it was starting to pick up a ton by that time as it transitioned to dinner time.
Danielle S — Google review
A beautiful restaurant with delicious locally themed dishes and a staff that is efficient, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant is comfortably decorated in a modern tropical theme. Tables and booths are available and are spaced so that you're not on top of other visitors. A large bar offers comfortable counter service. Tables are also available on an outside patio. We have never needed to make reservations. However, during busier times of the year and for large groups it would probably be smart to make arrangements. A free parking lot is available adjacent to the restaurant.

My husband and I were in Maui last week for our honeymoon and we came to Monkeypod twice during our stay. The first night I got the famous mai tai and it was delicious. I’m not even really a fan of sour/sweet cocktails, but the foam on this one really made it special and more decadent. We tried several items, but we especially loved the sashimi tacos, beef bulgogi tacos, and the gyoza. All were exceptional! If we are ever back in Maui we will definitely come back again!
Kelsey P — Google review
Overall a good experience. The major negative was the kitchen service fee. Is that your credit card fee? Enforced kitchen staff tip? What gives? At these prices, that's just a money grab. Shame on you. Anyway, kiddo had fish & chips. He's not discerning and ate it all. Husband had the chicken. No complaints but nothing spectacular. I had the mahi mahi. It was good but not great. Fancy Mai Tai was very good but I have now had a better one at another restaurant in town. Service was great. So that matched the prices. It was okay but you can get the same food and drinks elsewhere for less.
Ewa C — Google review
Great foodie spot in Maui for anyone wanting a solid, flavor packed meal! I had many fiends recommend trying Monkeypod on top of the local reputation this place carries. I highly encourage everyone to make a reservation as this place gets booked up very quickly, even on a weekday. For those without a reservation, I heard the hostess tell someone it would be over an hour before getting seated. (Just a heads up!) The food was very good, overall! The entrees in particular. I had the bulgogi beef tacos and my partner ordered the gnocchi. Both were exceptional! The tacos were drizzled in a chile aioli, a fresh chile, and some crunchy veg. Truly one of the best tacos I’ve had in a really long time. At first I thought the dish was small for the price, but they’re packed and I left very full. My mouth still waters thinking about this meal! My partner who orders the gnocchi feels the same way. His dish was rich, filling, and balanced by the addition of veg. He said to me “oh, so this is how gnocchi are supposed to taste!” Once you’ve had these light, fluffy pillows you can’t go back to the rubbery version most restaurants serve. My partner also remarked he enjoyed this dish so much he’d be hard pressed to order or try anything else! However, we both felt the same about the tortilla soup - it was underwhelming. It was too spicy and not balanced by anything. It wasn’t super hot when severed and I’d not order it again. Given how great the entrees were this appetizer should be reconsidered or removed from the menu. The atmosphere is laid back, feels casual, and very loud. The evening we dined inside it was packed and I could barely hear my partner talk. If this bothers you then you walk may want to ask about outdoor dining. Also, due to how busy the night was, the staff tried turning tables over very quickly which lead to small missteps in service. For example, the guys busing the tables wiped food onto the seats and left it there for the next diner to clean or possibly sit on. On a brighter note, when I used the restroom I did witness a staff member wash their hands for a full minute and avoid touching the door handle upon exit! 🎉👏 Love seeing good hygiene practices! The service was great the entire evening. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, described the dishes in great detail, which was very helpful in making our menu selections. Overall, I’d highly recommend making a reservation and making Monkeypod part of your Maui visit! It was easily one of my favorite meals during the whole trip and I’d absolutely go back!

We dined at Monkeypod three times during our 7 nights in Wailea, and each visit was incredible! The food is absolutely outstanding, but what made our experience unforgettable was the service—especially from our server, Ryan. We had him the first night we visited and again before heading to the airport, and he is simply amazing. The way he describes the food and drinks, his warmth and professionalism—it’s service like we’ve never experienced before. Our last meal at Monkeypod was the perfect send-off from Maui. Thank you, Ryan, for the exceptional hospitality—we hope to see you again in the future!
Emily B — Google review
Overall good review. They will tell you to come on in without a reservation but expect a 30 min wait. When you go to buy a drink at the bar while you’re waiting the bartender will abruptly direct you to a line to order a drink which felt strange. I had the fish and chips which was very good. My wife had a pizza which was very limp and wet and wasn’t great but not horrible. Our waiter was outstanding once we got to our table. Their prices are very fair for the food, the drinks are a little pricey. And the Mai Tai is as good as rumored.

Nestled in Lahaina, Hawaii, Star Noodle is a beloved spot known for its Asian shared plates, noodle dishes, and sake cocktails. Since 2010, this hotspot has been serving up traditional Hawaiian comfort food in a cool space with an ocean view. The menu features a variety of shareable starter plates like smashed cucumber salads with miso-chili sauce, steamed clams with miso butter, and adobo ribs with black pepper vinegar.
We ate at Star Noodle and it was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish blew us away! The butter noodles paired perfectly with the butterfly fish, and the Singapore noodles with short rib were packed with flavor. We ended on a sweet note with the malasadas for dessert perfection. 5 stars, highly recommend this spot

We really wanted to have a WOW experience after the recommendations and reviews but it fell a little flat for us. The atmosphere is nice, just a little bright. (Would be nicer if the lights were not so bright like a cafeteria.) The front staff was polite. We were seated on time. Our waiter was lackluster… not mean but certainly not friendly. The waiter barely greeted us and seemed overall disinterested in his job. The pork buns were good, not spectacular. The Look Moore Funn had one scallop and maybe three shrimps, the portion being pretty small but it did taste good. My daughter had the garlic noodles and they were super dry, she had to add soy sauce to give it any flavor and not make it so dry. My husband had the pad Thai, he liked it but a lot of noodles with little shrimp and chicken. We probably wouldn’t go back if we were to return to Hawaii.

When I first visited Hawaii, Star Noodle was one of my most memorable stops. I tried the Star Kim Chee, Steamed Pork Buns, and Singapore Noodles — each dish had such bold flavors and felt so comforting after a long day of exploring. I finished with Malasadas, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Such a special food experience to remember my trip by!

Lighting was very bright. While 8 appreciate being able to see my food and take pictures, it would have been nice to dim them just a little. However, food was absolutely fantastic and service was excellent. Host was exceptional, kept a smile and cool head while super busy. Kept those waiting for tables organized and sat in a timely manner. Hats off to her for helping this place run like a well oiled machine. Wish we were staying longer so we could go back and try more. Can't wait for our next trip to Maui.

This place takes noodles to the next level. The dishes are prepared with so much delicate texture and flavors. The tempura shrimp is amazing! The shrimp is super fresh. The most unique piece is the shiso sprouts to bring out the shrimp freshness. Noodles are definitely freshly made or it wouldn’t be so chewy to the taste, I wonder if they mixed bud weed with wheat so not your normal ramen. I would love to come back to dine here again! Superb!

Star Noodle was so delicious! I’m so glad we were able to get a reservation. It was at 7:30 which stinks because it was dark and the best part about this place is the ocean view but the food made up for it! We had the pork steamed buns, two pots of noodles and the malasadas. The hot n sour soup was my absolute favorite and the malasadas was the perfect sweet end to dinner. Everything was so warm and cozy!

One of the best meals on our trip!! Incredible food, drinks, and service. We loved the green beans! Poke and malasadas were also amazing but I don’t think you can go wrong with anything.

Really wanted to like this place but reviews are pretty spot on about it being overpriced and underwhelming. Food for two and one mocktail came out to about ~$150 after tax and tip but I guess thats normal for mediocre meal in Hawaii. I would not order the garlic noodles, crab and kombucha mandu or the ahi belly again. The Lahaina fried soup was the only thing we really liked. Barely any crab in the mandu, only taste the kombucha. At $18 for 3 measley pieces, a bit of a waste. Ahi belly was also tiny and overcooked. Couldn't tell if it was just any old regular piece of tuna. I've had better garlic noodles at any other vietnamese spot that included either steak or shrimp. These were lacking in flavor and didnt like the thin noodle. Service was great though. Go for the Lahaina fried soup. You can skip everything else we ordered.

We had the most lovely sunset dinner here! The girl singing with her guitar was amazing!! We really enjoyed ourselves and had a great meal. We will be back when we come back! Great bar and cocktail service on their deck out front as well. Really pretty place to watch the sunset.

Everything was perfection! We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and so glad we did. The macadamia crusted catch of the day was excellent and so fresh. The dessert and other plates were so good too. Not to mention the ambiance and the amazing service - our server was so nice, attentive and passionate about the food. Highly recommend!

Spot on for fine dining. We had our kids with us and they were accommodating for children which I appreciate. The service was immaculate. There is a happy hour bar that does not accept reservations, but if you want to dine, I’d recommend reservations. The adults ordered: ahi sashimi (10/10) with fresh wasabi (holy moly) Oysters (off menu) (10/10) Caesar salad (8/10) Macadamia nut crusted fresh catch (7/10) Filet mignon (10/10) My kids ordered steak and pasta and everyone was very happy with their meal. We also got icecream and crème brûlée (off menu) which was immaculate.

Merriman’s Kapalua is a very nice restaurant with a beautiful setting- though unfortunately it was too dark and windy tonight to really enjoy the view everyone talks about. The food, however, was fresh and flavorful across the board. We started with the complimentary bread service and the little shot of soup- both a nice touch. The Ceviche Aguachile was one of our favorites of the night- the citrus sauce was bright and zesty, and we ended up dipping our bread in it because it was so good. The Chow Fun Noodles with Pork & Shrimp were excellent- full of flavor. The Charred Ahi Tuna was another standout- perfectly seared with that smoky charred flavor we loved. The white fish special with shrimp was tasty too, though a bit on the salty side. Drinks were okay- we skipped the Mai Tai since it’s the same as Monkeypod (same restaurant group) and went for dirty martinis instead, but they were nothing special and definitely overpriced at $26 each. Service was the one real miss. It took about 10–15 minutes before anyone came over to our table after we were seated, and throughout dinner, our dirty plates sat on the table for a while even as new dishes arrived. It didn’t ruin the meal, but for a restaurant at this level and price point, we expected better attention to detail. Overall, it was a great dinner- very expensive with somewhat small portions, but the quality and flavors made it worth experiencing at least once while in Maui. We also enjoyed the little brownie to-go dessert they give you after dinner.

We celebrated my birthday at Merriman’s and it was a superb experience. From the moment we got in, we realized this was going to be a special evening. The service was amazing and our water glasses never got empty. The wait between courses was minimal. Both the food and cocktails were out of this world good. I couldn’t fault a thing, and that’s coming from a picky eater. We have dined in Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe and this meal was at the same level.
Sladjana I — Google review
Oh my! The views are amazing! And, you have to get there in time for the sunset. It was perfect! Now, the food was nothing short of perfect! Presentation, flavors and portions were exactly what you'd expect from an elite restaurant. Live music added a touch of class that was over the top great! The staff were top notch.

We had the pleasure of dining at Merriman’s in Maui during our honeymoon, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely amazing — the macadamia nut crusted fish was out of this world, and the freshly baked bread with tomato and oil was such a delicious start to the meal. What really made our experience special, though, was the outstanding service. Our server, Ben, was fantastic — so friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu to us. After dinner, we went down to the outdoor area where we met Nolan, the bartender, who was not only great at what he does but also a pleasure to talk with. On our last night in Maui, we returned for late-night drinks and were taken care of by Viola, who was just as wonderful and friendly. Thank you, Merriman’s, for helping make our honeymoon so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

One of our favorites in Honolulu, but it’s our first time at Maui’s location. We didn’t have a reservation and arrived at 8:15 p.m., the hostess was very nice and was able to give us a table right away even though this place was packed. We had some of our standard dishes (taro chips with hummus and beets salad), both were excellent as in Honolulu, except there were less chips here and the chips were greasier than in Honolulu. Then, we also tried its lobster and the crispy pork shank. Both were excellent, both in taste and presentation. We also loved its bread that came with puréed tomato in olive oil dipping sauce that was the champ of the night. The house Chardonnay was very good and as well as its non-alcoholic cocktails. The service was friendly and efficient just like in Honolulu. The seating area was inviting and comfortable. Too bad we came so late that we’ve missed its beautiful ocean view. The patio area is first come first serve, but it was closed at 8 p.m., half an hour ahead of its main dinning area.

Nestled on the picturesque slopes of Haleakala in Maui's Upcountry region, Hali'imaile General Store is a renowned culinary destination offering a modern twist on Hawaiian regional cuisine. Originally a plantation store dating back to 1925, it was transformed into a restaurant in 1988 by Chef Bev Gannon and has since gained international acclaim. The restaurant prides itself on its farm-to-table dining experience, featuring locally sourced ingredients in an idyllic Upcountry setting.
This place was really good. The burger was absolutely delicious and the fries were crispy. The iced tea was really good as well. Amazing service too! I've come here a number of times over the years with family. It was awesome to visit again.

Loved this place. Great stop if you're waiting for a tour of the Maui Gold Plantation (and make sure to ask for a coupon there and you'll get a discount). Loved the ahi with udon noodles, and the pineapple upside down cake was delicious, but the pineapple burger (with perfectly cooked fries) was incredible.

I recently visited Hali’i Maile General Store, where we ordered the loco moco and the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. For dessert, we chose the lilikoi crème brûlée, and I must say, the food was delicious! The loco moco's gravy was flavorful, and the chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked not over fried. The lilikoi crème brûlée was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Our server, Mai, was fabulous, attentive and very welcoming. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out Hali’i Maile General Store.

Quite possibly the best meal we’ve had on Maui! The sashimi salad is a must and we really enjoyed the pork wontons. For mains, my husband had the fried chicken sandwich and I had the local fish curry (best I’ve had). We both ordered Baja margaritas — the parsley was such a surprisingly delicious touch!!! We’ve tried a lot of restaurants on Maui, and this one is a gem! The staff were incredibly nice; the setting and vibes were perfect; and the food very high quality. We will certainly come back any time we are on the island. Note: We made a reservation, but I don’t think it’s required - they were busy though (for obvious reasons!) so if you want to ensure you get a table, would recommend reserving. Also, they close 2:30-4:30 between lunch and dinner (Google doesn’t list that).

Farm to table freshness. Every item and drink our party of 4 ordered was delectable and prepared perfectly. I’m a big fan of the burger but it is NOT just another burger. I promise you. The Pineapple Museum and Glass blowing (with free live demonstrations) are a short walk away if you have the time. Well worth a tour of both locations. I recommend making a reservation if you want a table.

We had the most amazing dinner here! The team went above and beyond for us — they stayed open late and treated us with such kindness and warmth. A huge thank you to the chefs for the incredible meal, to Matt our server for his attentive and friendly service, and to Michelle the hostess for welcoming us so graciously. You all made our trip even more memorable. We can’t wait to come back and celebrate an anniversary here one day!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had one of the best meals of our entire trip to Hawaiʻi at Haliʻimaile General Store. The restaurant itself is charming, tucked right next to a pineapple plantation and gin distillery, with a cozy, welcoming vibe that immediately sets the tone. We started with a seasonal cocktail and shared the Chinese chicken salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, my spouse ordered the mahi mahi fish and chips and I had the coconut fish curry, which might have been the single best dish I ate in Hawaiʻi. Rich, layered, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was a standout. Our server, Jennifer, gave us excellent service from start to finish, striking the perfect balance of friendly and professional. The whole experience felt thoughtful and elevated without being pretentious. This was such an unexpected highlight of our time in Maui. If you’re visiting the island, make the drive; you’ll be glad you did. Highly recommend!

If you want great fresh local island food with a pan Pacific twist you must stop by for dinner one night. What used to be a drive out to the middle of the pineapple fields halfway up to Makawao has now turned into a hip and fun location with still some old Maui upcountry charm. Our server, Hezekiah was a local charm. Professional, funny and just excellent. His recommendations were spot on and fantastic, like the Lillikoi Mai Tai. So different and refreshing . The coconut seafood curry was flavorful with a combination of fresh local ahi and shrimp with Kula veggies galore in a beautiful curry. Since it was my wife’s birthday Hezekiah also recommended the incredible and decadent pineapple upside down cake, hot out of the oven with Roselani ice cream. It really topped off the evening. Great service and fantastic food in a historic building in a pineapple field.it made for a special dinner. The real deal. Plan on having dinner there soon. Like now!

Tin Roof Maui is a bustling local counter located near Maui's main airport, offering a convenient entry point for travelers seeking Hawaiian comfort food. Run by renowned chef Sheldon Simeon and his wife Janice, the restaurant serves up soulful dishes that reflect Simeon's Hilo roots. The menu features local specialties such as mochiko chicken, garlic shrimp, macaroni salad, saimin noodles, and chow fun noodles.
Small to go spot with outdoor seating, no indoor seating. We ordered online, and it was quick. We ordered the garlic shrimp and the spicy chicken sandwich animal style (animal style adds pork belly and a 6 minute egg). It was a huge sandwich. I couldn't even hold it right because it was so big. It's definitely worth the wait, and the prices are affordable.
John A — Google review
We really, really wanted to love this because we have watched Chef Sheldon on Top chef and he was so genuine and amazing. Our experience however was not great. We did order closer to closing, which may have impacted the experience, but the food quality was sub par. First, they forgot two of our add ones, egg and spam in one dish. Next, we had four dishes and 1 desert, with only one of the dishes being really great (Mochiko Chicken - Highly recommended!). The spicy chicken sandwich was good enough, but the bun seemed stale and the chicken was a little on the chewy side without any real juiciness. The chopped steak had really good flavor, but had quite a lot of fat on most of the pieces that had to be cut out. The Poke bowl was good, but didn't really stand out in any way from any other poke spot. The desert, Chocolate Birthday Babingka was actually fantastic with great textures and great flavor. Hopefully, this was a one off experience because the reviews here are generally off the charts and he seems like such an incredible person. When we return to Maui next year we will try again and hope for the best.

Great spot to hit right when you land in paradise! Tin Roof is a quick drive from the airport and is the perfect first stop when you make it to Maui. Great food! Only thing is that there is rarely a place to sit, so be prepared to chill in your car. Chef Sheldon is such a gift! So definitely worth checking out.
Sydney P — Google review
Stopped by Tin Roof and honestly left a little disappointed. The chicken had decent seasoning on top, but the sauce was not it, really heavy and the kind of flavor you get sick of very quickly. The rice was fine, but overall the bowl just didn’t come together the way I expected. Also, there’s no actual seating area or inside space. You order at the window outside, grab your food, and that’s about it. Not very comfortable if you were planning to sit and eat there. I’d heard about this place since it’s run by Sheldon, the chef from Top Chef, which made me curious to try it. But honestly, the food didn’t live up to the hype. Not the worst, but definitely not something I’d go back for.

We were starving from our 6 hour flight. Thought we would try this place before driving another 45 minutes to our hotel. We got the garlic shrimp, small garlic noodles and the fish sandwich. The fish sandwich was cold and hard. Also found a hair in it so they remade it for me. Hoping I would’ve gotten a hotter sandwich since they are making a new one. Sadly the 2nd one was even more cold and hard compared to the first. I didn’t think the garlic noodles or the garlic shrimp was good either. Extremely disappointing. You would think food tastes better when you’re starving but everything was just that bad.
Karen M — Google review
Great spot to grab a bite near the airport. Line moves fast. Love their garlic noodles, and their mochiko chicken is so good. The chicken is definitely much better than the pork belly.
Dylan H — Google review
Great food, no line up when I went. You can order online and schedule to pick up. Convenient! Had the mochiko chicken with garlic noodles, fish sando, and pork belly with spicy noodles. The garlic noodles and spicy noodles were bomb! Definitely add this or get a side order of to try!

No frills local spot. There’s no seating so you order (or order ahead) and take it to go. The parking lot isn’t huge. It’s the place to stop by when flying in as it’s near the airport and Costco.

Service was quick and friendly. Our server was nice and we talked about our tattoos. No wait to get in. We had the kapulu joe which was a sweet pulled pork sandwhich and ahi poke bowl. Both were delicious. Prices were pretty reasonable. It is located at whaler's village so the area is pretty happening during the day. It was pretty relaxed vibe with live music playing cover songs on the ukulele. It is definately a good spot to stop and grab lunch if you are shopping in the village or coming g back from a fishing or snorkeling outing.

Stopped by Hula Grill Kāʻanapali to catch the sunset and enjoy a drink and a bite. The vibe here is great — a big, lively restaurant that’s clearly very popular on the west shore of Maui. I ordered the ceviche and the fish & chips. The ceviche was fresh and tasty, but it’s a small portion, really just enough for one person. The fish & chips were okay, nothing particularly memorable. Overall, it’s a fun spot to grab a drink and some food while watching the sunset, but don’t come expecting an outstanding dining experience — the atmosphere is the main highlight here.

Thoroughly enjoyed both the dinner & brunch I had here. The crab Rangoons (dinner app) & avocado toast (brunch) were super satisfying & tasty. For being common menu items, both dishes had their own unique twist that I loved. Our waitresses were both very helpful & friendly. Great atmosphere. Love the barefoot sandy area. Amazing view as well!! Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Hula Grill in Kāʻanapali. It’s a large, lively restaurant with a great atmosphere, and the service was truly outstanding. Our waitress, Astrid, was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. She really made the experience memorable. We started with a couple of appetizers and drinks, but they were just okay. The cocktails were nothing special. The bread service was a big miss for us- it wasn’t even served warm, just room temperature. The ceviche was fine but not the best we had on the island. The entrées, however, completely won us over. We ordered the wood-fired local fish (mahi mahi or ono- can’t quite remember!) and it was phenomenal. The romesco it came with was delicious. The filet was also excellent- perfectly cooked and full of flavor. To top it all off, Astrid surprised us with their famous Hula Pie for dessert, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. Overall, despite a slow start with the appetizers, the exceptional service and amazing entrées made this a fantastic meal. Highly recommend!
Eric T — Google review
As you see from one of my pictures there’s half cheeseburger, our waitress know what we was planning we picked one entree and one appetizer to share, I personally can’t eat much so I don’t like the feeling of overeating. So she asked us if we wanted the burger to be cuts in half and of course I said yes if that’s possible. I told our waitress that I don’t want cheese on the burger but it’s served with cheese but luckily I can scraped out pretty good from my burger, I’m not allergic to it I just don’t like the taste of the cheese. The Hula burger was really tasty.. we both really liked it, it was perfect! Coconut calamari was so so, not really a fan of it. Then we tried the Hula Pie, the Hula Pie was amazing! Our waitress was Amber F, at first impression she seems cold and a bit unfriendly but at the halfway through the end on our late lunch I found her she’s a sweetheart! Turns out I really happy and like her personality 🤙🏼

Came here last night as recommended by a friend’s friend & it did not disappoint! We made a reservation a couple hours beforehand but I’m not sure if it was really needed. Our server, Sonny, was the best! For small plates ordered the panko crusted ahi as recommended by Sonny, & also the lobster crab ravioli which were both delicious. For rolls we did the Hawaiian, scallop & cucumber, spicy hamachi, takah, & unagi rolls which were all tasty. The prices seemed reasonable & weren’t significantly more than what I would pay for sushi at home. I would definitely come again & recommend to friends & family. (For pictures, I didn’t take one of the lobster crab ravioli or I think the unagi roll)

My brother and I heard that there was a 50% off happy hour at Sansei from 5pm-5:45pm so we figured we'd give it a try since we were fairly close at Napili Point Resort. We got there about 4:55pm and there was a big line that we got at the end of. We got the second to last table in the entire restaurant! Our server Chris was phenomenal and very knowledgeable about the food. He was excellent and if you go, ask for Chris! Our sashimi was melt in your mouth good and super fresh. We splurged and it was worth every bite!

Sansei is more than just a sushi spot—it’s a Hawaiian culinary experience that masterfully fuses Japanese tradition with bold Pacific Rim creativity. Whether you're dining in Honolulu, Waikoloa, Kapalua, or Kihei, expect a lively atmosphere, exceptional service, and a menu that surprises and delights. The food? Fresh, flavorful, and adventurous. The Asian Rock Shrimp Cake is a must-try appetizer: crispy on the outside, tender inside, and rich in umami. The Mango Crab Salad Hand Roll is a tropical dream—sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. And the Panko-Crusted Ahi? A standout dish with a golden crunch that gives way to silky, seared tuna. The vibe is upbeat yet casual, perfect for everything from romantic dates to group dinners. The staff are warm and attentive, adding a touch of aloha to every interaction. Sansei manages to be both a local favorite and a tourist treasure. It’s the kind of place you remember long after the vacation ends—and the kind of food you wish you could bring home with you. Rating: 9/10 – A flavor-packed must-visit

Our only regret is we discovered this place the 2nd to last night of our trip but we did make it two nights in a row! If you’re staying at the Ritz, do yourself a favor and make the 7 minute walk here for dinner. Having come back from my first trip to Japan 2 months ago, my standards for sushi were high. However, the melt in your mouth butterfish nigiri along with a tuna crunch roll, was the perfect marriage of US style rolls and Japanese fresh fish. Service was phenomenal both times we were there. We hope to come back soon!

Wow!! You absolutely must try the butterfish. It is hands down one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. The sauce was perfection and it just melts in your mouth. All of the food was excellent, we ordered so much! Nothing disappointed. Us and we had a great time. We went on Monday and showed up around 4:45 to a big line of people waiting for the happy hour. Da Kitchen, located in Kihei and Kahului, is a popular restaurant on Maui known for its generous portions of classic Hawaiian food. Despite its suburban strip-mall location, it attracts both locals and tourists with its island soul food, including signature dishes like chicken katsu and teriyaki beef. The airport location offers a wider selection, featuring traditional plate-lunch-style fare as well as burgers and sandwiches.
One of the best places to eat in Maui. We came in a Tuesday for lunch and the inside was packed so we ordered to-go and ate outside. Every single bite of every item on our plate was perfection. The Musubi was heavy on the nori flavor, which I love, but my husband doesn’t so I mostly got to have that all to myself. The meats were tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Many weeks later and we’re still talking about how this is one of the best meals we ate. On our Maui go-to list now forever! Oh, and the staff were all so freaking nice!!

I came here based on the reviews. While you do get a lot of food for your money, I’m not sure I’m convinced that it was as great as some of these reviews. We ordered the mixed plate and the loco moco. Both were ok. The mixed plate came with katsu chicken and mahi as well as a piece of chicken thigh and a piece of sliced beef plus rice and mac salad. The loco moco came with a burger patty, egg, topped with sautéed onions, rice and mac and cheese. It’s a very heavy meal. The dishes didn’t have a lot of flavor. Our server was nice and friendly.
Geeky C — Google review
Loco Moco was good but not great. Standouts were the fried spam musubi and the guava cheesecake (a must-order. Not overly sweet). Prices for portion size were good. My husband and I split the Loco Moco and had leftovers.

Island salad is my run away favorite here. It’s been a while since I was in Hawaii and had plate lunch. So long ago that prices have ga-gillioned? $35 for the Hawaiian? Sheesh. Used to be plate lunch was the affordable way to eat. Food was good though. Lau lau was good. Kilua pork was salty but delicious. Rice was rice. And a very little itty bitty salmon teaser. Won’t be back but happy we went. Can’t recommend at these prices.

Food was delicious. ❤️ Everyone was very nice and my meal was gluten and dairy free. The pork was excellent. No sauce needed. It had great flavor and was juicy. 🤩

Exactly what I was looking for! We're visiting from California. I have been craving Lau lau which is hard to find in Cali, but Da Kitchen nail it! I wanted a little of everything that reminded me of hanging at random weddings while my Dad and grandpa hosted Luau's back in the 70's. All on one fork, pork lau lau, kalua pig & rice then big spoon of poi! OMG broke da mouf!!! Mac salad was so ono as well. Great job Da Kitchen!

Garlic Noodles were good. Chicken katsu lacked flavor, Kalbi ribs, korean chicken were mediocre and and the fried musubi was strangely sweet? Mac salad always good. Very busy establishment and the servers worked well.

Da Kitchen has a great selection to choose from. My wife and I were here for vacation and came back twice for the breaded and fried Mahi Mahi! So good! And the fries were top notch, hot & fresh. Perfect experience

Nestled in Kula, Restaurant Marlow is a culinary treasure offering a diverse menu influenced by local ingredients and global flavors. Chef Jeff Scheer and his wife, Kaili, have crafted a dining experience that emphasizes fresh, locally grown produce to create dishes bursting with flavor. From signature pizzas to mouthwatering cioppino and vegetarian options like roasted root veg, there's something for every palate.
Marlow is a community gathering spot, you’ll see to go orders being put over the counter, beautiful pizzas (white and red sauced) coming out of the kitchen in ones and twos on trays for the tables. I haven’t found anything I don’t like there. Suggest trying their margarita pizza so you can appreciate how well they prepare their sauces. The Funghi pizza is a hit and tonight we had a pepperoni that was incredible. The gnocchi are, I think, the best I’ve had anywhere, fantastic texture and sauce was so delicious. Best thing I can teach you about this spot? Finish the pizzas at the restaurant and take your left over pasta to go! This one’s stellar guys. Go!

Marlow is 🔥. Love the food, the funghi pizza, meatballs, OLIVE OIL GELATO. Their coffee and beans are super good too, I buy their Origin beans for at home. This is definitely the best restaurant upcountry.

We visited on a Saturday late morning, place was half full but they wanted us to wait until they could service appropriately. Understaffed perhaps? That was fine, we took a stroll, came back and they seized us earlier than we expected. It was our first visit and we were looking forward to a pizza, had the fungi/ mushroom. Lots of garlic on that pie. We enjoyed it.

I love their breakfast sandwich, have had dinner here too and liked it a lot. Vibes are cute and airy. A lot of people rave about the pizza but I really prefer their other menu items

Marlow is my absolute favorite restaurant in the universe and has been for a long time. And today’s visit was nothing shy of remarkable. The moment I walked in I was greeted with the sweetest smiles. I sat at the bar to treat myself to my favorite meatballs. I ordered the Negroni sbagliato and it was perfect. Then I ordered a mixed green salad and it was insane delicious. Finally my bucatini with meatballs came and I don’t think I looked up from my plate for 15 solid minutes. It was pure heaven. I love this place and these people. Thank you chef! ❤️

Very good service ( came at 8:00 PMish on Juneteenth. ) less crowd. Food was amazing and so was our server. We wanted vegetarian meals and they helped guide through their menu. We ordered a white pasta and their on-house margarita pizza. It was all delicious. Perfect sized portion for two (any be small for peeps who like to eat well; we like not so heavy dinner). Price is on the expensive side though

Nestled in the historic town of Lahaina, Lahaina Grill has been a top dining destination for over two decades. This elegant restaurant offers a blend of locally sourced ingredients and international cooking methods to craft innovative New American cuisine. The ambiance is equally impressive, with fine china and crystal adorning the tables, vibrant paintings by renowned artist Jan Kasprzycki gracing the walls, and charming pressed tin ceilings adding to the overall inviting atmosphere.
Lovely vibe, incredible food, and great service! A lot of options are gluten free. I got the seared lion paw scallops, and they were some of the best scallops I’ve ever had! So soft and creamy with a delicious sauce. The truffle oil really made the dish! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, and the bartenders had a great time on Halloween.

Very nice experience. The food was incredibly flavorful, the ambiance was classy. We enjoyed the excellent wagyu ravioli with the warm fresh bread. The French onion soup and seafood chowder were great. We split the daily special Opakapaka with amazing risotto. They notified us of the extra charge to split and we were happy with did it when we saw how beautifully it was plated. Every dish was super rich and delicious. A very nice touch when they brought my husband a birthday card, dessert and took our photo. I read reviews of how incredible service was, so I think I was expecting a lot. While our server was friendly, we didn’t find it very attentive. It was busy, so I understand he had his hands full. It was a lovely fine dining experience!

An absolute must-visit fine dining restaurant. If you are in Maui, you must dine here. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate. The staff is knowledgeable of the entire menu and very polite. Their wine list is second to none. They have their own sommelier who procures vino from around the world, so you have a tremendous amount of bottled options ranging from $60 per bottle to over $10K. They have many gluten-free options or can make some options gluten-free with a chefs tweak here or there. The bowl of fish chowder was to die for and is a must-try. Lastly, the owner will stop by and introduce himself and chat with you. He provides the highest level of concierge service, which, besides the amazing food and atmosphere, is why this place consistently ranks among the very, very best in the world and deserves the reputation it has most assuredly earned.

Honestly, best service we have had in a very long time. Thank you Lisa and Eric for being so attentive. The little special touches go a long way in our book. The food matched the service and was spectacular. We were celebrating our anniversary and they took a picture of us, gave us a card, and a desert. My husband is Gluten Free and they paid very special attention to his dietary restrictions. They made sure he could still try the seafood special of the day and dessert. Even the doggy bag hanger was a nice touch.

Excellent dinner. The food was amazing. Everything sounded great so it was hard to decide what to get. The drinks we got were delicious too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We definitely will be coming back next time we’re in Maui. This was the best meal we had on the island. Everything we got was phenomenal. The owner of the restaurant even came around and thanked us for dining there. Great experience all around.

Had a wonderful experience. Food was excellent. Service was exceptional! Only thing I didn’t really care for was the fish chowder. We really enjoyed the bufala tomato salad. Although it’s a bit pricey for what you get but it’s worth a try. The Osso Buco tasted amazing and they leave the bone marrow intact. Seared Ahi Tuna was cooked perfectly. The flavor is well balanced.

Absolutely phenomenal food and was one of the highlights of our trip. I went with my fiance for an anniversary dinner and had incredible service and complimentary dessert. Highly recommend the rack of lamb and the steak. The soups were fantastic as well. Make sure to reserve in advance because it's all worth it!

We went there to celebrate both of my parents’ 60th birthday. It was a phenomenal place! From the tequila shrimp to the slow braised boneless short ribs to the mushroom ravioli to the salmon filet, all of it was incredibly delicious and flavorful! Kihei Caffe is a popular breakfast spot located in the Kihei Kalama Village, offering a variety of delicious and filling breakfast options at reasonable prices. The menu features Hawaiian favorites like Loco Moco and Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, as well as classic dishes such as omelets and cinnamon rolls. The cafe has a cozy interior with a spacious patio for outdoor dining, making it an ideal place to enjoy freshly roasted Hawaiian coffee and hearty breakfast plates.
Kehei Cafe: A Must-Try for Breakfast on Maui Kehei Cafe is definitely doing something right! I visited this morning with my daughter and was thrilled that we were able to get a table pretty quickly—a great start to the day. The staff was fun and helpful, making for a really pleasant atmosphere. For our meal, we decided to indulge, and every dish was a winner. We started with a classic cinnamon roll, but the real stars of the show were the savory and sweet mains. The breakfast burrito was awesome! It was big and tasty and got an extra layer of deliciousness from the addition of fried rice inside—a truly inspired combination. The French toast was equally impressive. It was wonderfully thick and perfectly prepared. The topping was what set it apart: they used bananas that were kinda fried and absolutely incredible, all topped with a unique and delicious coconut syrup. Between the quick seating, the great service, and the truly delicious and hearty food, Kehei Cafe is a must-try for anyone looking for an excellent breakfast spot. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito and the French toast!

The food line to order was fun (wish I knew to jump inside and grab a menu, rookie mistake) and wait for your food from a food runner. I was great experience and took about 10 minutes to get my omelette !! The bacon side order was a portion, which came on a separate plate, that makes mainland breakfast places, blush with envy. My photos don’t do the place justice enjoy when you go!

The food choices are awesome. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious 😋. The servings are plentiful. You order at the counter and they give you a number and you seat yourself inside or in the outside patio area. The servers bring your food out to you. There is a self serve station where you can get cold water and condiments. It is located inside the Lahaina Gateway Shopping Center across from Ross. There is plenty of parking.

Food was absolutely delicious! Don't be intimidated by the long line, flow is well managed, staff take your order and sit you, line is the only waiting, for us it was very long line but no more than 15 min wait. Classic benedict and French toast were delicious. So as iced mocha and mango ice tea

We were debating between this and Bacon & Blossom we went for Kihei Caffe bc it’s more of a landmark but it’s definitely like an overpriced Dennys breakfast. You have to wait in line first to order, only one cashier so line can get long, then you get your drinks and look for a table. If you’re lucky you won’t be surrounded by chickens who want to eat your food. They even came up to our table it was a bit scary. There is no restroom so you have to go across the street to the beach restroom or at the outdoor market next door. If you want to go for the experience, cool it’s nice in front of the beach but food definitely didn’t wow me.
Nancy R — Google review
I’ve come here over 10 times just for their coffee alone. It’s the best best Macnut coffee I’ve had on the island so far and nothing comes close. The food options are very solid as well and quite large. The only food I didn’t like was the omelet. Everything else from Loco moco, ube panacakes, and french toast was 10/10.
Vasu B — Google review
I had the pancake and it was large and filling. The line was long but flowed fast and inside where you place your order the staff is awesome and proficient. Good food and good vibes for all ages. As we ate we watched the activity at the beach.
Dave M — Google review
The food is excellent. The staff is warm and friendly. Excellent patio seating might be a bit noisy for some. Some might also find the caffe a bit pricey. If you're planning to enjoy your meal on the patio tables, ORDER FIRST then find a table. Don't save tables before ordering. This is very helpful for guests who have already ordered find a table. The staff will bring your order to you. Also, while waiting in line, look over the handheld menu so that you have an idea what you'd like when it's your turn to order. Over the years (decades), this local style caffe has become very popular with regular visitors to Maui...for good reason. The food is excellent and the portions are large. As such, we strongly suggest visiting as early as possible. Each of the plates includes a local flair. There are a large selection of dishes, each is delicious. Various coffees and juices are available. The later guests arrive, the more challenging parking can be. Limited parking is available in the street. A large parking lot is available adjacent to the caffe. Restrooms are a short walk away.

Mala Ocean Tavern is a charming beachfront restaurant that offers a blend of Pacific Rim and Mediterranean cuisine along with an extensive selection of wines. Chef Mark Ellman, a pioneer of the Hawaii Regional Cuisine movement, presents a menu featuring dishes such as ahi bruschetta, wok-fried Hawaiian fish, and vegan mushroom Bolognese pasta made with local shiitakes. The restaurant also serves signature cocktails like the Spa Day and the LBC.
What a pleasant surprise find near the old Mala Wharf. Apparently this place somehow survived the Lahaina fire. We came at around 3 pm, so only Happy Hour menu was available, which wasn’t bad at all. We had the taro burger (vegetarian), butter lettuce and deep fried calamari. The taro burger came with Swiss cheese and tasted very good (yes, even without any meat in it) and the fries were crispy and seasoned very well. The salad was really fresh and the dressing was on the sweet side, but acceptable. The calamari was excellent paired with artichoke tartar sauce. The service was excellent from the entire team and our server, China, was friendly and helpful. Now, the seating area was the highlight as the waves were splashing our table while we dine. An added bonus, sea turtle would come to the rocky shore below restaurant m’a windows to munch on the algae. We saw a couple of young ones while we were there. Parking spaces were limited rat the restaurant, but there’s a huge lot across the street where Safeway and the ABC Store are located. The drinks were good as well.

My partner and I have been to most restaurants in and around Lahaina, and we were so happy to have found Mala! We’re both gluten-free and total foodies, and it’s rare to find a place that delivers on both flavor and service — but Mala absolutely did. Our server Thomas was the BEST — friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He knew all the specials, kept our glasses full, and made sure our table was always clean without hovering. The food was outstanding, and Thomas went above and beyond by helping us secure Mother’s Day / birthday reservations seven months in advance! He even introduced us to Sergio, the manager, who took amazing care of us as well. Everything about our experience was perfect — the food, the service, the vibe. If you’re anywhere near Lahaina, do yourself a favor and pull up to Mala for a fantastic meal and some of the best service you’ll find anywhere.

Came here on a Saturday night , day after Halloween, place was half full. I’ve heard a lot about Mala from family & friends , knew i was in for a treat. My wife, 25 weeks pregnant , eats plant based and there were several options for her. Our server, Carlos, was soft spoken but confident & gave us great pointers - he’s someone you just know you can trust. I got the ceviche w the sweet potato Chips , my wife got the Brussel sprouts to start, both were just fantastic! The brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection & the ceviche i got was in this rich coconut broth that i ended up drinking. Really refined and confident flavors. For our main dish, my wife got the vegan curry & i was stuck between the pork shank (Carlos said it falls off the bone) and the pan seared mahi mahi (which i ended up getting). While the portion size of the mahi mahi was on the smaller side, the actual dish was huge — Yukon potatoes and a great ginger sauce with mushrooms and carrots - just really full flavor. Id like to note that i got their version of a Mai tai as well as a gin drink that were some of the best cocktails I had during our trip. Pricing was fair and the food quality was just superb - couple that with Carlos service and the incredible waterfront views — you got yourself a fantastic meal . Would RUN back. Also, their sambal was SPICY!

Our happy hour dinner at Mala was amazing. The best meal and experience we had in Maui. Sitting right on the ocean with island views and a nice breeze, drinking outstanding cocktails and eating local food. The service from Thomas was outstanding, and he shared lots of knowledge with us about the sea life in the harbor and the local ingredients in their food. You absolutely MUST try the bruschetta. Thank you so much!

Would not come back here. We had dinner here last night for my husband’s birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Our server was wonderful—warm, attentive, and accommodating—and our table by the ocean was beautiful. However, the food quality and flavor fell far short of expectations, especially for a restaurant so highly rated. It honestly ruined what was meant to be a special evening; we didn’t even feel like ordering dessert to celebrate. For starters, we ordered the Ube bread and the Poisson Cru. The bread arrived cold in the middle, suggesting it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. The Poisson Cru lacked the salt, lime, and chili flavor described on the menu—it tasted mostly like fish in plain coconut milk. We then ordered the Caesar salad and the Surf & Turf. The salad was decent, though overly dressed. The Surf & Turf, however, was the most disappointing dish of the night. The filet mignon had no seasoning or flavor, the octopus was bland, and the potatoes on the side resembled unseasoned breakfast potatoes rather than a dinner accompaniment. Given the restaurant’s reputation and glowing reviews, we expected a refined, flavorful dining experience. Unfortunately, the dishes lacked balance and care in execution. The service and setting were excellent, but the food was simply not up to par—especially for a special occasion.

We had a wonderful experience at Mala Tavern! The oceanfront view was absolutely beautiful and made the whole meal feel extra special. The pan-fried mahi mahi, scallops, and coconut shrimp were all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I also highly recommend the Moana Mahina cocktail. Fantastic food, great drinks, and a stunning setting. Absolutely worth a visit! 🌺🍸

Kat was an amazing server and we truly appreciated all her advice this evening. The food was outstanding! From apps to dessert, nothing disappointed. We also truly appreciated the way the team greeted us and celebrated our anniversary. You all truly made it very special, mahalo. We cannot recommend Mala enough, such a wonderful restaurant.

Mala Ocean Tavern was a really nice discovery. I loved the layout of the place—it’s inviting, comfortable, and has a great vibe for both dining and relaxing. The food and drinks are solid, tasty, and reasonably priced, definitely not overpriced. It’s a great spot to enjoy a meal, have a drink, and soak in the atmosphere. Whether you’re there for a casual night out or just want a place to unwind, Mala Ocean Tavern is a spot I’d happily recommend.

Sam Sato's Inc is a classic counter-service restaurant located in Wailuku, Maui. Since the 1930s, it has been a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant is known for its affordable and hearty breakfast options, cheeseburgers, saimin, chow fun, loco moco, and plate lunches.

Got the dry noodles and they were good, wished I'd gotten the saimin as I like more broth. Beef sticks were flavorful but a little tough. Got 2 cheeseburgers and the boys scarfed them down. Fries were meh though, skip them. Friendly service, good experience near closing time.

Down to earth place with fantastic food. Their dry saimin noodles are out of this world. The yakitori chicken is also very delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service is super fast once you get seated. There is often a wait for seats but it is quite worth it. For a 4-5 days trip, we ended up dining here twice. Goes to show great this place is.

Delicious food in a local spot that reminds me of HK cha can ting. Everything was homey and comforting. Especially loved the wonton noodles. The wontons tasted handmade with a thick, chewy wrapper, and a juicy, chewy meat filling. Would go back if I visit again!

They are usually very busy so we ordered take out, but were pleasantly surprised to find out there was only a very short wait if we wanted to dine in. The parking lot is small, so it helps to have someone wait in the car and another person run out to pick up the food. Service was quick and friendly! The Dry Noodles are highly recommended so we ordered some other items to try. The Teriyaki Plate Lunch came with a large scoop of rice, scoop of mac salad, and generous portion of teriyaki beef. Although it doesn’t look pretty, the beef was so tender and flavorful! Definitely an underrated dish here. The Lima (Butter Bean) and Azuki (Red Bean) Manju were also nice little treats to have after our meal. Soft and subtly sweet. The best local manju we’ve had!

Got there half an hour before closing. Packed house with quite a lot of people waiting for a table. I was alone, so I got seated at the counter almost immediately. Saimin menu is pretty simple. I ordered large saimin. Flavor was all there, portions were about right relative to price point, and quality of ingredients was on point. Service was fast and friendly. $12 for a quick meal. A must visit for simple local fare.

Lineage is a casual and modern restaurant that offers a blend of Filipino and Hawaiian family recipes, along with a traveling dim-sum cart. Located in the upscale Shops at Wailea, Lineage stands out for its authentic food and inviting atmosphere. The menu has evolved to include Korean and Chinese flavors, featuring shareable dishes like Korean fried chicken, garlic Szechuan noodles, and wagyu kalbi short rib with roasted bone marrow.
This was one of our first meals in Maui and it was pretty tasty. We got lucky with making same day reservations and got seated rather quickly as they opened. The drinks are tasty here, I went with the Neko, but I think my friends pandan cocktail was really good. The fried chicken and the kimchi clam dip was delicious. The lobster noodles also tasted fantastic.
Tony T — Google review
High hopes met with a big let down! Mediocre food experience in Wailea met with a clumsy night of service. Service: My partner and I had one of the only open reservations at Lineage which was at the bar. I was greeted outside with a friendly face and promptly shown to my seat after being checked in. At the beginning of service a server dropped a glass at the end of the bar. In trying to clean up the shattered glass he dropped a second glass that shattered everywhere. A different server (bartender) dropped our porcelain soup spoon which shattered on the floor as well. This time, I watched the bartender rinse her hand for all of two seconds before making drinks again. I mean, it’s really quite simple - if you touch the dirty floor then wash your hands with soap and warm/hot water for at minimum 30 seconds. It helps prevent customers from getting sick. This did not happen!! During one of the courses my partner was given a clean plate and set of silverware, but this did not happen for any of the other courses. A manager was helping clear a table where a young family with many small kids dropped napkins, and food, all over the floor. The manager put floor napkins onto the table top. One word: gross. A server, yes, did wipe the table down, but used all of a whisper of sanitizer. Why take the risk of transferring germs onto the table and possibly get people sick? Poor practices that are aimed at quick table turnover and do not prioritize safe practices. Upon leaving, you have to exit near the kitchen and a server bustling out of the kitchen nearly crashed into me trying to leave. Whoever designed the restaurant made a mistake by putting the entrance and exit door right by the kitchen. This is a disaster waiting to happen! The hosts said goodbye to me but when my partner came out separately he was totally ignored. Overall, what I’m aiming to point out is the service was clumsy and ensconced with poor health practices. Atmosphere: The indoor dining area is rather intimate. Dim lights, sleek surfaces warmed with a lot of wood tones. The chairs at the bar were comfortable. Keep in mind, the night of my dinner there were several families with small kids, but I found the restaurant to be quite loud. Listening to kids scream and cry throughout service took away from enjoying the venue and dinner. I quickly strolled through one of the art galleries that was still open after my meal. When making my way back I passed by the restaurant to see the host sitting down smoking a vape pen. There’s a lot of little details that just went wrong during my visit. These details make cheapen the experience and feel of the restaurant. Food: I ordered three courses: the ox tail soup, garlic noodles, and fried cauliflower. The food did not resonate with me. I found the presentation of the soup to be wonderful, but lacking balance. The bread was served on a wooden dish that served as a lid for the soup. The broth was incredibly sweet and could have been balanced with some heat. There was a lot of free floating fat in the dish which I did not enjoy with each bite of the oxtail. I did find the meat to be very tender! I feel there was a missed opportunity for a reveal. You have a lid that gets taken off at the table, so it might be a wow moment if the soup was lightly smoked - serving more of an aromatic versus flavor for the soup. The garlic noodles were definitely oozing with garlic flavor, but were rather dry. The tiny bit of sprouts on the top were undetectable once mixed in and added next to nothing to the dish. Again, I feel this course was lacking balance. Garlic without the balance of salt, heat, acid, or fat is one note and boring. The cauliflower was tempura fried on the florets, covered in a curry sauce and topped with what they call a peanut salsa. The tempura batter was everything you’d want it to be - light and crisp. But the rest of the dish fell short. The curry was a mediocre red curry you could find at any average Thai restaurant. Sadly, I would not recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for an upscale meal.
Justin M — Google review
This was our favorite meal on Maui. The crispy cauliflower was incredible- I'd come back and just have this as my entree. It was so crispy and so nice with the melty onions and sauce. A close runner up was the Bird's Nest. I wouldn't have chosen this on my own but my friend ordered it and again, the textures and flavors were memorable. Also on order were the liangban salad, and garlic noodles. Both solid dishes to accompany the aforementioned two. Lineage definitely makes the return visit list.
L — Google review
The food is very good, the freshness of the ingredients elevates the flavor! The crispy cauliflower had a nice crunch and sauce. The oyster mushrooms and vegetables birds nest was amazing, with all the fresh veggies and the curried sauce. The garlic noodles had great flavor. The pandan bread pudding was very rich, and the key lime ice cream was a nice accompaniment which helped cut through the buttery richness of the pudding.

this is our second time here and both experiences have been absolutely phenomenal. The food is incredible and the cocktails are out of this world. A huge shout out to our server, Drew! He was so helpful and knowledgeable and just sincerely one of the best servers we’ve ever had.

What a great experience. We sat at the bar and the bartender Elmer was incredibly attentive and a great host. Definitely try a couple of the cocktails. The lobster noodles were insane and so was the cauliflower. 10 out of 10 will be back next time!

Japanese restaurant
Morimoto Maui offers beachfront dining featuring a variety of stylish Japanese creations by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. The restaurant showcases a blend of Japanese and Western-inspired cuisine, highlighting the bountiful produce of Hawaii. Situated at the Andaz Maui resort, the modern architecture takes inspiration from traditional Japanese beach houses, providing an open and airy ambiance with stunning views of the beach and ocean. In addition to sushi, the menu also features dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients.
Ashley was so delightful and helpful with ordering our special lunch at Morimoto. The sushi was definitely the best I've experienced and the wagyu sashimi was out of this world. Definitely will be back.

We enjoyed their appetizers more than entrees. Ribs, carpaccio, and gyoza were all delicious. For main, we ordered spicy hotate roll, duck fried rice, and kushiyaki set. Kushiyaki set was a miss for us - didn’t like that super sweet sauce was smothered on every single one of the skewers and vegetables. Because of that everything just tasted sweet with no other flavors. The black pan that was used for serving those skewers was for presentation only, it didn’t keep the food warm at all. Ended the night with ube cheesecake, enjoyed that too. Given the reviews and the brand, I expected more.

Great ambiance. The staff was kind and friendly [0] Unfortunately, food quality was very disappointing. So their sticky bbq was great. However, 1. their sushi tasted a bit stale. Their Sake ( salmon ) and Sabe ( makarel ) in parituclar tasted like they were left in the sun for too long and just turned a bit bad. 2. Their cocktail, moritale(?), tasted like they forgot to add ingredients. It tasted straight up vodka with a hint of sake. This was our babymoon dinner, and didnt want to ruin it, so I didnt make any complaints. But sushi was too disappointing. [0] There was a small mishap for my order of 20 nigiri x 2 maki set. They mistakenly thought I ordered 10 nigiri set. When they brought it out, I told them about their original order and they brought another 10 nigiri set.
S K — Google review
Appetizers were not bad but rather ordinary - we had the poke tacos, fish carpaccio, and rock shrimp tempura. The 14 oz wagyu steak was way too salty that we could not even finish. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but everything was pretty underwhelming. Also, I was surprised that the appetizer plates were not switched out with dinner plates before the main dish, given that it was an upscale restaurant. The sunset views were nice.

We were a bit late and they were very accommodating. Greeted by very kind staff and seated on the patio to enjoy the ocean breeze. Mike was our waiter. Described everything and was so professional. Very low key vibe. Started with sticky ribs and cocktails. There was a minor issue with one of our orders and it was quickly and smoothly resolved. When we return to Maui we will certainly eat here again!

I will be dreaming about the sticky ribs for a while after this. Food and drinks were amazing, everything was cooked to perfection, presentation was on point and the flavors were very unique and delicious. Mikey, our server was awesome, made great food recommendations.

Food is generally wonderful like all other Morimoto locations we've been to. Ribs are always a fan favorite. Steak was delicious. The duck rice and shishito peppers were bland in flavor. Desert was great. Drinks were pricey and lacked punch, which should never be the case for such a classy place. Especially after dropping over $180 per person.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant! The view of the ocean is amazing, especially at sunset. And the food is beyond praise! We tried the chef's choice and everything was delicious and exquisite.

Hawaiian restaurant
Nestled within the luxurious Andaz Maui at Wailea, Ka'ana Kitchen offers a family-style dining experience featuring Hawaii Regional fare crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Since its opening in 2014, this award-winning restaurant has been celebrated for its innovative dishes like cinnamon roll pancakes and poached eggs with Molokai sweet potatoes. The restaurant's stunning coastal location provides breathtaking views, making it the perfect spot to savor a marvelous wine list and exceptional service.
Amazing view overlooking pool and beach during sunset, Hawaiian/asian fusion with super interesting and thought out flavors and combinations. Type of place where you just trust the menu and the chefs to give you the best bites of your life. Every single part of this meal, from the drinks to the apps to the main course was absolutely divine. Heaven on earth.

Our server John provided exceptional service helping us understand the menu. He was very tentative, ensuring we always had water and drinks filled. The food was delicious, the farm to table concept came alive here, offering fresh and local ingredients from around the island. Between the four of us who dined, we shared our food, having the chance to taste more than what we ordered. Highly recommend sharing and here are some highlighted menu options: Grilled Octopus Salad, Coconut Clams, Waygu Hanger, Watermelon Salad (Apps), Risotto, Seared Scallops, Maui Caught Fish (Entrees). I wanted to extend a special thank you to John and Mike for an enjoyable dinner service and experience, the live music from below provide a special touch to an amazing dinner.

A perfect night at the Chef's Table! Service from sommelier, Tia, was stellar, and the entire team in the kitchen took great care of us! The food was all amazing, we loved every dish. Outstanding wine list! Chef's Table or just regular dining, don't miss this place!

We had the most incredible dinner at Ka’ana Kitchen during our honeymoon stay, hands down one of the best meals we’ve ever had. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. Our server John deserves a huge shout-out, he was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He made us feel so welcome and guided us perfectly through our selections. His recommendations were spot-on! We ordered the Wagyu steak and the chef’s choice fish, and both were absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was beautifully balanced, rich, fresh, and full of flavor. You can tell the kitchen puts so much thought and care into each dish. The atmosphere was elevated yet relaxed, and it truly captured that Maui magic, intimate, open, and full of aloha. If you’re visiting the island, Ka’ana Kitchen is an absolute must. Thank you again to John and the entire team for making our evening unforgettable! 🌺🍷✨

Excellent dinner and we received good service from David. Food was served promptly and plates removed as we finished. Eclectic menu and a good wine selection. Beet salad was sweet with crispy kale. The wagyu striploin was good but not extraordinary. The moonfish was in a slightly spicy sauce.

Excellent! Been coming to Maui for years and always a bit disappointed with the food, but this place was the one! Yes, it’s on the pricey side, but with the setting and location, I expect that. Food, drinks, service all worth the 5 stars! We will be back next time on the island!

The atmosphere is amazing. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and it was delicious. The staff is so kind and sweet. Both the hostess at the front and our server were amazing . Last thing my coffee. It was so great. They were amazing and such a great part of our experience. Worth every dollar!

From the moment we walked in and were greeted warmly by the hostess, we knew it would be a special night. The glow of the small lamps on each table on the patio and the music coming from down below added to the ambiance. Our waiter John had great cocktail suggestions as well as wine pairings with our meal. We started by sharing the Caesar salad with tuna- delish! Then on to the pasta with lobster and over the top lamb shank. Could not finish it all. The manager Matt came by and we appreciated the conversation. Great meal- recommend highly.

Japanese restaurant
Nuka is a sleek Japanese venue offering a diverse menu of small plates, sushi, specialty rolls, and a variety of drinks. Located in the sleepy North Shore town of Haiku, it's popular among locals for its seriously fresh sushi and izakaya-style eats. The restaurant serves unique twists on traditional rolls like the Lollipop roll and offers Asian-inspired dishes such as wasabi fries.
As we went to the Road of Hana to explore the Twin Falls we discovered this Japanese restaurant was on the way there. Food was excellent. Cute little place. Staffs were wonderful. Sashimi was fresh. Our tummy satisfied.
Amenita T — Google review
Nuka in Haiku offers a cozy, stylish setting with a menu that leans into Japanese classics. While the sushi and rolls were just okay — fresh but not particularly memorable — the meat skewers really stood out. Perfectly grilled and full of flavor, they were a great surprise and easily one of the best parts of the meal. The real highlight, though, was the miso cod - buttery, tender, and deeply satisfying. It alone is worth coming for. Service was solid and the space has a nice ambiance, making it a good choice if you’re in the area and looking for a relaxed dinner with some standout bites.
JonLuca D — Google review
Delicious sushi spot upcountry. My first time dining at Nuka was outstanding. The highly quality of the fish was noticeable. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs were very warm and friendly. The service from our waitress was okay- she wasn’t the friendliest. Our food came out quickly after placing our order which was awesome because we were hungry! We didn’t have a reservation upon arrival and waited about 15 minutes for a party of two. Its indoor dining only and the space is on the smaller side. There is sushi bar seating as well (about 10 spots). We enjoyed the ceviche and mocktails from their evening specials menu, along with the dragonfly roll, maguro nigiri and ahi salad from their regular menu. We’ll definitely be back.
Melinda — Google review
Dined here many many times. The food was always amazing, some of my favorite cocktails, and there has almost always been high quality fish. The waitlist operation is inconvenient, but if you’re willing to get through that then bear in mind you will be treated unkindly by the servers. On multiple occasions I have had horrible service. It’s hard to say how many times i’ve actually enjoyed any service i’ve received here aside from the people that ran the food. Servers are miserable, rude, stuck up, and they do not have any sense of recovery after being rude. It’s unfortunate that I don’t have it in me to leave a bad tip so i’ll always leave 20%, but after my last negative interaction, I will never be returning. It’s unfortunate as the food and drinks are great, sushi chefs are talented, the food runners are nice and friendly, but your server staff is consistently rude and ruins the entire experience. Don’t come here if you want decent service.

Before Nuka, this place used to be a Napa store and before that a mini market store. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in a free-standing building on Haiku Road just across the street from the Haiku Cannery mall with lots of free parking. The Asian decor fits the restaurant perfect. It's a small open-air room that fits maybe 50 people max, with regular tables and sushi bar seating. RESERVATIONS: They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait during peak dinner hours especially on the weekend. FAVE FOODS: Karaage Chicken Very small portion but very really good. The chicken was very tender and the light karaage batter was delish. Chicken Katsu Donburi I am a fan of this place after eating this dish! The rice is laced with a sweet/salty soy flavor, topped with a over-hard fried egg cooked in the same sauce, topped with deep fried & super tender chicken katsu strips and finished off with thinly sliced nori. DEELISH! Tempura Shrimp Udon I simply love noodles, so this was an easy decision for my second time here. The broth is a bit sweet but very good (I am NOT a fan of sweet broths but this was an exception). Accompanied by a generous amount of shrimp, green bean, onion and mushroom tempura. Ahi Katsu Donburi Delicious rice dish flavored with a sweet-soy seasoning which is topped with an over-hard fried egg, and chunks of breaded and seared ahi. I personally would've liked to have the ahi cooked all the way through which would make the dish more visually pleasing, though it's still very good overall. Portion size is perfect. SERVICE: Everyone has been great all these years. OVERALL: Maui's best Japanese restaurant.

Food is always delicious, definitely my favorite restaurant on Maui… Our service last night went above and beyond, had a great time and enjoyed every bit of it.
Lelia — Google review
I've been to Nuka twice. Once a few years ago (it was excellent), and this past weekend (it was not). Service: We showed up a few minutes after they opened and scored one of the few open tables. We sat for 10-15 minutes waiting to place a drink order. What we later learned was our server was busy with a table seated after us. I had to ask a different employee for our server. She eventually arrived and didn't apologize for the delay. The service from this point was ok...clumsy, not horrible, but def. not gracious. Cocktails were delivered with no napkin to absorb the sweat off the glass. I've worked the front of the house in fine dining and It felt like the staff receive minimal training, and are delivering food as they would bowls of cereal to their children. Lots of staff only carrying 1-2 items at a time - ie a lack of efficiency. Food: This was better. We tried the miso butterfish, a tempura appetizer on the specials menu, and a variety of sashimi and sushi. These were well prepared, and made up for feeling like they didn't care if we were there or not. Salmon sashimi was not fresh, and remained on the platter after it was sampled. The remainder was fresh and tasty. Summary: Due to it's location and status as the only sushi restaurant for miles, I think management has decided they are busy and customer service doesn't need to be prioritized. That's true until it isn't, and competition appears. Our bill for two came to nearly $250. Did we feel like we got our money's worth and look forward to returning? No.

Leilani's on the Beach is a beachside restaurant with a focus on seafood and tropical drinks, offering a family-friendly atmosphere. Situated in the heart of Kaanapali's south beach, also known as Dig-Beach, it provides an elevated ocean view along the three-mile stretch of white sand where Hawaiian royalty used to surf and play traditional games.
We made a reservation in advance so they sat us upstairs, very nice view! Very quick, everything was very nice especially our server lady forgot her name but she was awesome! This place is good as it can be here!! We had a Maui fresh salad, Cesar salad, hummus, steaks, calamari, sea food pot and some fish dish and a pie! Very good!
Ana S — Google review
Had a lovely dinner for my partners birthday. We both had fish which was lovely and great and prepared well. They comped our desert for his birthday which was a lovely gesture. Great views of the ocean so if you can go for sunset it would be lovely. I’d say for the price they could work on the food presentation but a minor point really, it’s the taste that matters!
Charlotte S — Google review
We tried Leilani’s on the Beach and found it to be an average experience overall — I’d rate it about 3 stars. The location is great with a nice beach atmosphere, but the restaurant feels more like a polished chain-on-the-ocean rather than a unique dining spot. The food was okay but underwhelming for the price and hype. The hummus was heavy on oil and hidden at the bottom of the plate, the calamari lacked much flavor, and the mashed potatoes had that heat-lamp crust that made them taste like they’d been sitting. Nothing stood out as thoughtful or memorable. Service was friendly, and our waiter did their best, but the restaurant was very busy and it showed. The overall service level didn’t quite match what you’d expect for the setting and cost. In hindsight, we probably would have enjoyed the beach bar portion of the restaurant more, since that casual vibe and pace seems like a better fit for this spot.

First time in Maui even first time in Hawaii. Decided to go to the Whalers Village as my only meal had been a Musubi Roll so wanted to experience the full Maui experience. Absolutely loved my time at Leilani's on the Beach, casual dining area (there's two different sections). My bento box of all things nice was delicious and the beer I had was the perfect brew to match it with. Had a coffee as well as the glorious sun began to set. The waitress I had, was an absolute star as well, friendly and charming. 100% satisfaction!

Went here for my 23rd birthday! I made a reservation same day and requested nicely if we could get a view of the beach and they did not disappoint! It felt so nice and special being on the 2nd floor and looking at the sunset. Food was fresh and delicious! Would definitely recommend, but would also say if you can, get a reservation ahead of time! Not too difficult and it guarantees you a time!

It is interesting reading through the reviews and a lot of them are five star ratings. We are there twice and had similar experiences. I really don't think this is a five star restaurant with a lot of missing components. Some of which include the "pets" aka birds that intruding. Not really the restaurants fault, but when the waiters and bus boys leave the food on the table to long you are inviting unwelcomed guests aka the "pets". I'll start with the good though. They are right on the beach so almost any seat is a good seat. The appetizers are great especially the nachos. We added the pulled pork to it to make it even better. The pulled pork was tender and very flavorful. We enjoyed it with the crunch of the chips, salsa and the avocado. On different nights we got the fish and chips and the fish tacos. The tacos were definitely better. The fish was over cooked on the fish and chips plate and the fries lack luster. But it did seem like they were using the same fish for the fish and chips and the tacos😅. The waiters seemed to be beginners and we had two different waiters each day. Both were slow to serve the food and just appeared to be inattentive. Both times we had to request our water to be refilled especially on a hot day at the beach. I mean we sat so close to the beach that the surf was spraying our food 🌊😂. "That's a little... Salty" bonus points if you can guess the movie🤣. Anyways there are two places to eat at. If you want something more casual eat on the floor closer to the beach. If you want the "steak" restaurant you will want to head upstairs. There are shady spots to sit under but they don't cover well in the late afternoon. I got roasted like a lobster 🦞. Hmmm ... Maybe my wife should have ordered lobster instead 🤔. Anyways that's were the water would have nice. So mind when you are going to eat and where you are going to be seated. I do believe they will vouch for parking but double check with them first. Most other restaurants did while we were on the beach. So three stars for mediocre food (mind you the nachos saved their rating), poor service, but all least a great view as long as you don't mind becoming the next lobster 😜.

The restaurant has won multiple awards for its breakfast and happy hour offerings.
We went for happy hour. Charlene our waitress was friendly and gave good service. Variety of dishes for happy hour. Chili tequila was spicy. Wings were crispy and slightly sweet. The hurricane fries were well liked. Calamari was unfortunately not cooked properly being the only downside. The view is beautiful

Nice place, right on the beach so you have great views. The price for our lunch was amazing, compared to the rest of the area this helps make this spot a must. Our food was decent. We each got the Mahi Mahi sandwiches. I went with the grilled option and my wife did the blackened. I up-charged to the fries and the wife had the chips. If you get this sandwich, I suggest going with the blackened. The fries cost $4, stick with the chips, they just aren’t worth the charge. Overall, great value and a real good Mai Tai.

Beautiful beach/ ocean front table view. The fresh fruit was delicious. The house special pancake- filled with banana and pineapple was tasty but just a little too mushy if you are in the mood for pancakes. Like eating a Custard with a thin skin and with fruit added. Overall a great breakfast spot- just will order different menu item. Sorry, the birds are cute but they come onto your table ( 5 or 6 total ) and 1-2 even eat out of the plates.

The view from Sea House alone is worth the trip! Stunning Napili Bay location and view. The food puts it over the top! I have been there several times for breakfast and the food and service is consistently amazing. Wendy and Marlon are fabulous. Prices are incredibly low for the large amount of food you get. This is one of my all time favorite restaurants on Maui.

We arrived at 5:30 for reservations and from that point forward it was magical. The server was top notch (April?) I swear she read my mind for when to come and fill wine and check in. She is very skilled. The Trio Fish special was incredible and the lobster was just as delicious. The gnocchi with truffle and mushroom was by far my absolute favorite. Everything was 10/10 recommend. The mango sorbet was beyond delicious. THANKS FOR A MAGICAL EVENING SEA HOUSE.

What's vibe and it's right on the water. Just so beautiful and calming space. I ordered way too much the proportions are big! I loved the tofo teriyaki. The gnocchi itself melted in your mouth but the sauce was too garlicky.

SUNSET SUPPER Gorgeous setting for a decent meal on Nāpili Bay and better prices than some of the other spots near here offering the same. It’s super tragic they have GARBAGE service. I loved my first ever frozen mojito and will think of it often when I’m back home in Oregon. Take what the menu says with a grain of salt. We ordered the mushroom scampi that was supposed to have Ali’i mushrooms, garlic, and parsley. We received shiitakes and tomatoes. When pointed out to server Dianne, she said “The mushrooms are always shiitake.” I double checked the menu at restaurant and online. Both say Ali’i oyster mushroom blend. Booooooo!!!!! Prime rib special was excellent, but veggies served with it were woody. Doesn’t matter if it’s farm to table if the quality isn’t great… Basil crusted fish was FANTASTIC!!!

There aren't enough words to describe just how great this little seaside restaurant truly is. The food is beyond amazing. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We requested a window table to view the sunset and they were even able to get us seated a little early, securing the last window table availability that evening. Our server Patrick was very friendly and had perfect timing. He was attentive but didn't hover and allowed time for my partner and I to enjoy our meal, the sunset and each other. As a San Diego native I can confidently say that the fresh ceviche is probably the best ive ever had. The filet DID NOT disappoint and was super flavorful. Make reservations here if you are looking for an intimate elevated beach side dining experience. As self proclaimed foodies, we highly recommend you give this place a try

Flatbread Company is a popular pizza joint in Paia, Vermont, known for its wood-fired pizzas made with organic ingredients and free-range meats. The restaurant has a no-reservations policy but offers 'call-ahead seating' for the waitlist. It's a family-friendly spot with a laid-back vibe and spacious outdoor patio. The menu features delicious flatbread pizzas and salads, including the Daily Specials like carne and veggie options.
The pizza was fantastic. The dough was crisp but not crunchy. They offer organic and vegan options. They serve salads with produce from local farms. They make their own dressings and sauces. We had the chicken bacon salad, pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza, and veggie pizza with vegan cheese. Everyone enjoyed it. We highly recommend Flatbread.

The town of Paia is great for shopping and has several restaurants. Flatbread appears to be an East Coast chain that either started or migrated here. They specialize in wood fired pizzas. Extra toppings for a build your own are $6.25/each. Party of 2 got a large 2 topping pizza with one soda that set us back $50 with tip. The pizza is fine. Great crust, light on the sauce, generous with the expensive toppings, but the center of the pizza was too soft for my liking. The vibe is very cool. We didn't try any other pizza on the island so as far as I can tell, this could be the best pizza available.

Stopped here after the hike at poli poli and waihou springs. Paia was packed and had to circle through twice to get a spot in public parking but was worth it. The pizza was delicious and my husband says lemonade tasted fresh. For dessert we split the brownie that comes with two scoops of ice cream. No complaints....off up the road to Hookipa Beach.
Heather P — Google review
Flatbread does a lot of good for the Maui community by hosting non-profit organizations and donating a percentage of sales to them on certain nights; a rarity these days. The menu theme is free-range, natural, organic, and hippie-like. ATMOSPHERE: Busy, loud, energetic. The pizza oven is up front near some tables and can be uncomfortably hot if you're seated near as this place has no a/c. It's fun to watch the pizzas being cooked but I'd avoid sitting near there. A small bar is off to the side. The back room seating area has a mosquito problem especially at the tables near the windows due to heavy foliage and possibly unseen standing water? Upstairs is a nice cozy option with a few tables and is quieter. Seating is a mix of bar seating, high tops, regular seats, booths, and big picnic-style tables for large parties/groups. FOOD: No Boundaries Salad Lettuce with shredded papaya and carrots tossed in a pineapple vinaigrette dressing. I'm not a pineapple fan but love the dressing! Got mine loaded with kalamata olives, red bells, mushrooms, sun-dried & regular tomatoes, avocado, rosemary, and Parmesan cheese. Delish! Pepperoni & Mushroom Pizza My favorite pie. Simply topped with tomato sauce, pepperoni & mushrooms with mozzarella & Parmesan cheese. The greatest tasting combo! Flatbread for all pizzas are thin, crunchy & chewy. Coevolution Pizza My second fave. Goat cheese, kalamata olives, cheese, sun-dried tomatoes & rosemary. Add tomato sauce for extra flavor. Homemade Sausage Pizza My third fave pizza. Sausage, mushrooms, onions, and mozzarella. Again, add tomato sauce for extra flavor. Broccoli & Potato Pizza (special of the night) Broccoli, potatoes, cheddar, mozzarella & parmesean cheeses and herbs. Good but not the greatest as potatoes on a pizza were odd and heavy. Go with a pie that's already on the menu. PIZZA TIP: Make sure to add tomato sauce to the pizza (some don't come with it so ask your server) which adds a ton of flavor. Even the most odd-sounding topping combos are delish! DESSERT: Warm Banana Bread Ala mode with vanilla, chocolate or coconut ice cream. Highly recommended. Brownie & Ice Cream Small square of a homemade brownie with no nuts (unfortunately) and two scoops of ice cream (choice of vanilla, coconut or chocolate.) Plantain Split Not a fan of plantains but tried it anyway. Didn't care for the taste of it. Why not use a traditional banana? Loved the ice cream! RESERVATIONS: Only taken for parties of 10+, but they do offer 1-hour call-ahead seating for smaller parties. SERVICE: Fast & normally very friendly. OVERALL: Good pizzas, lively vibe, very touristy.

I’ve been to Flatbread multiple times, and it never disappoints! While the family shops, I head straight there—it’s become my go-to spot. The pizza is consistently delicious: fresh ingredients, perfect crust, and great flavor combinations. Honestly, it might be in my top 5 pizzas of all time. The service is always friendly and welcoming, while in Maui I put this as a must do...a day in Paia for shopping and pizza.

Can’t even explain how incredible this place is, the pizzas never disappoint. Probably the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Our family has been coming here for years. It’s very kid-friendly, and the staff is always so upbeat and kind. Truly one of the best spots in Maui. You can’t go wrong with any of their pizzas. They also offer gluten-free crust for celiac, and they give dough to little ones to play with, which is such a thoughtful touch.

Maui Brewing Co. has made a significant impact on the craft beer scene in Maui, offering refined flavors that incorporate the island's bounty. With two locations on the Valley Isle, visitors can enjoy a chic interior, games, and live music at their Kihei tavern or savor fresh homemade food at their west side restaurant. The brewery offers four flagship beers like Bikini Blonde and Big Swell IPA, as well as limited release beers such as POG IPA and Mango Hefeweizen.
Visited for lunch and had a great meal and great beers. Huge place with an indoor/outdoor seating with a great breeze so was very comfortable no matter where you sat. Service was prompt and was able to make my own beer flight. Several of the beers I wanted to try were out but all the ones I tasted were great. Food was very good with big portions. Would have liked a few more vegetarian options but the burgers were really good and huge! Family friendly and looks setup for great evening activities and large outdoor space. Definitely recommend and would return on a future visit.

The original Kahana location closed, so this newer and much larger location is their sole spot on the rock. ATMOSPHERE: They have a humongous building in the tech park. The landscaping looks so mainland-ish, I love it! There's a good-sized living room-like area at the front, outdoor lanai seating and a gargantuan main dining area with bar. BEVERAGE: True North Refreshing with nicely-balanced flavors. Highly recommended. Lei'd Lychee Unfortunately served lukewarm, it was very light on lychee flavor but heavy on the pineapple. FOOD: MBC Nachos We added spicy Mexican beef which wasn't spicy hot at all. Mainstream version. Chicken Bacon Ranch Sando I wanted to be a little healthier and got his tasty little sammy. SERVICE: Consistently good throughout the years. OVERALL: South Maui's best bar & restaurant setting.

Great spot in Maui! The place looks awesome, staff was super friendly, and the patio is perfect, especially during their happy hour from 3–5 PM with some solid deals. I sat outside and tried the Peach Hard Tea and Pineapple Chi Chi, both really tasty and refreshing. Everything was going great until the Truffle Garlic Fries showed up. First few bites were amazing, but then it got way too heavy on the garlic. Honestly felt like I ordered fried garlic with a side of fries. Tasted fine at first but… yeah, spent the rest of the day burping garlic with a slight stomach ache, not ideal... Other than that, everything else was smooth. The menu’s big, with lots of food and beer options, prices are fair, and the vibe is great. I’d totally recommend coming here and would go back next time I’m in Maui for a second chance.

5 stars because of the experience and the beers but the food was a little bland. Going for dinner the wait was long since we didn’t have a reservation and it’s a popular spot. We were able to sit in the tasting area and drink while waiting. Got a table outside which as the sun went down it was a good temperature and they opened the large garage doors. The food looked amazing but the hot fish sandwich wasn’t hot and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The fish tacos were the same way too. Enjoyed the dessert though and recommended getting some cheesecake cake. Would good again since it was a really nice brewery and to try other food.

We had planned to come here for happy hour but got blown off the beach by the wind so we were a bit early. Parking is easy and plentiful, and the space is massive both indoor, covered patio, and outdoor games space. It was our first time here, the bar seating is seat yourself and the rest a host needs to take you to the table. It wasn’t too busy but we were clumped together with other tables when there was plenty of space to spread out. We both got Mexican lime lagers and they were pretty good but not super cold? We also shared the pork belly bao buns and the flavours didn’t complement (needed something pickled to offset the fatty pork and hoisin instead of the overpowering chilli mayo). Service was friendly. Would be a great spot for groups or an evening hangout spot to play the outdoor games. Next time I’d come for happy hour and get a flight to try several beers and the $13 pizza, but I’m not rushing back (and you can get their beers on tap at other establishments on island for cheaper than the source).

What a great brewery and restaurant. I wish I could have tried every beer! This was our first stop after picking up our rental car on the way to our condo. So glad our friend recommended this stop. The grounds are beautiful, whether you are sitting inside or outdoors, the entire restaurant has an open feel. The staff were all very friendly and the environment is very clean. Had we had time I would have come back for one of their brewery tours and to try more beer. I had the Pineapple Mana Wheat, delicious with a perfect balance of flavor. It paired perfectly with my jalapeño bacon burger... which was amazing. I'll definitely recommend this to friends and family and when I make it back to the island for a speaking gig or an Own Your Awkward retreat, I'll be sure this is part of the experience.

We undertook the brewery tour on Saturday and found it very interesting. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. The size of the operation blew us away and the hyper focus on sustainability was a big green flag. The tasting session after the tour was great and the sample sizes surprisingly decent. Great craft beer. Mahalo Just an addendum. We returned for happy hour 3-5 with half price pizzas and $2.00 off draft beers. Great value, excellent beer (again) and good pizza. Only recommendation would be to maybe add cider to the beverage list.

It pains me to give this low of rating on typically a consistent 4 or even 5 star experience but my experience today was so terrible I feel like a review needs written. I really believe the server sets the tone of the evening for the establishment and our server came off like she could care less about her job. We had to flag her down to order dinner, drinks, ask for more water, ask for refills ask for our check. She would often just walk by our table, never check in. I really do not like to flag a server down, but at one point, I really thought she forgot about us. She also forgot to put food items in to order, so it took almost 90 minutes just for our full order to come out. And upon paying, she requested at 25% tip. The food and drinks were really delicious. I do want it noted that this is the third place I have ordered a Caesar salad, and while the prices line up with the other establishments, this portion was about half the size, so I would not order it again. I do hope to go back to allow them to redeem themselves, but this was a big step down in the experience from last year, and I would hate to stop going in general. Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice in Kihei and Lahaina is a must-visit spot for shave ice enthusiasts. They are known for their exotic flavors like pickled mango, lychee, and passion fruit. The shave ice is made with gourmet Maui-made ice cream at the bottom, extra fine shaved ice, and topped with their delicious local favorite juices and other optional toppings.
We have tried a few shaved ice places on the island and this is easily the best one! There is plenty of flavors to choose from and they also have something called snow cap which is a condensed sweeten milk for an additional $1. I added this to my grape/ orange ice and it was good. My son got the cotton candy and it tastes just like it. My wife got the mango coconut and she said it was good as well. The only issue is the long lines, this is worth it as they do not skimp on anything. We got the keiki (kids) which was plenty for each of us. This is a must go place if you have about an hour to kill. From the photos you will see from where it was taken it was about 35 minutes of a wait. Don't pass this place up just cause the lines are long. The parking is terrible but get past that and you will enjoy.

What a great local spot! You can tell how popular it is because even on a Wednesday afternoon the place was packed. If you’re looking for an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice experience, this is the quintessential place to go. I’ll admit, I’m not usually a huge fan of shaved ice, but the flavor combinations here were fantastic and the toppings were really unique. You even have the option to add ice cream, which makes it extra fun. The vibe is beachy, laid-back, and full of local charm. Yes, there was a long line, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The shaved ice itself was perfection—generous portions, bold flavors, and plenty of toppings. They definitely don’t skimp here. If you’re in Maui, this is a must-visit treat spot.

Popular shaved ice spot with multiple locations. Came here for an afternoon sweet treat and ordered the Local Motion with the snow cap and macadamia nut ice cream. The Ulu size was good for two and we really enjoyed the mixture of the condensed milk with the shaved snow. You pay and order first before receiving your order. They have a free parking lot. Be careful with the birds because they are aggressive in trying to steal a bite of your dessert.
Shanelle S — Google review
Best shave ice I’ve had during my vacation! Their ice is fluffy and holds its shape and the syrups are concentrated and flavorful. We ordered the Jem’s jam which had strawberry, guava and pickled mango, with the hi ling mui drizzle. It’s sweet and tangy, absolutely delicious!
Caitlin L — Google review
One of the best shaved ice! Got it with mochi and vanilla ice cream. There is chicken roaming around so be careful friendly but they do like to nibble on shaved ice cream too! Popular with tourist!
Jennifer K — Google review
Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice is hands down the best shave ice I’ve had in Hawaii — and I’ve tried four different places! The texture is unbelievably soft and fluffy, and the flavors taste so fresh and vibrant. You can really tell they use high-quality syrups and ingredients. The service was friendly, and everything was made perfectly. If you’re going to try shave ice anywhere in Hawaii, make sure it’s here. Nothing else compares — 10/10 recommend and will definitely be going back before departure.
Stephanie W — Google review
Came here on a nice hot day after the farmers market nearby. There is a line since it is popular but well worth the wait. We got the flavors from top 9 that are supposed to be locally sourced. We got the Mango, guava and passion fruit with hazelnut ice cream. It was great
Raghu M — Google review
Friendly service, but syrup taste was underwhelming We visited Ululani’s Shave Ice at 61 S Kihei Rd during our trip to Maui. One thing I truly appreciated was the excellent customer service — the cashier kindly honored my 10-year-old coupon and gave us a free shave ice with the purchase of the highest-priced one. That gesture really stood out and deserves recognition. As for the shave ice itself, the texture was great, and it was nicely prepared. However, I personally found the syrup to be average in taste. It had a strong sweetness that felt more like glucose or sucrose, possibly cane-sugar derived, but it left a bit of an artificial or powdery aftertaste — almost like Splenda or similar sweetener. It just didn’t hit the mark for me flavor-wise. That said, I know many people love Ululani’s, and the service and location are still a big plus. It might come down to personal preference when it comes to sweetness and flavor.

The Plantation House is a Hawaiian eatery located on the Plantation Golf Course, offering stunning views from the 19th hole and serving elegant island fare. The restaurant is renowned for its panoramic sunset vistas overlooking the lush fairways of the golf course and the neighboring islands of Molokai. Executive Chef Jojo Vasquez has curated menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that showcase locally sourced and inspired dishes, along with signature menu items.
Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Fries were delicious. Excellent espresso martini. Banana bread was so soft and flavorful. Fruit plate was wonderfully presented and all the fruit was perfectly ripe. Wonderful views from everywhere in the restaurant. The price of the food was actually not terrible for the amount and quality of everything that was presented. I was very pleasantly surprised with everything about this restaurant. Highly recommend!!!

We had such a phenomenal experience at Plantation House for our honeymoon. The food, atmosphere and service were top tier. Lauren was such an attentive and pleasant server. She had great recommendations and made sure our night was special. The chef that curated this menu has a gift. Thank you for such an amazing night, one of the best meals we have had. Highly recommend the Lavender Whale (i substituted vodka for the gin it was amazing), scallops with added the lobster tail, my husband had the two fish special, then we both had dessert, creme brulee and cheesecake. Everything was spectacular! Not to mention the beautiful views! If you got to only one restaurant during your stay, go here.

We had a wonderful first experience tonight at The Plantation House. We were seated promptly at our reserved time. The decor is so clean and airy and comfortable. There really isn't a bad seat in the restaurant. Our server was very warm and helpful, and she checked on us often. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The seafood was all fresh, and the lamb chops were decadently tender and juicy. Parking was valet only.

All of the food that we had was great! All of the servers were very nice and respectful. We had our reservations around 4:30pm and not many people were there when we first arrived but it got very busy as the night went on. This restaurant os a perfect place to watch the sunset and have a dinner. The price of the food is on the higher side but all of the food was fantastic. We would recommend going if you are in the area!

Plantation House has one of the greatest sunset views! It is so hard to beat and the food is phenomenal! Get a view looking out towards the sunset, and pro tip: you can walk downstairs and get an unobstructed view on the golf course. All the food was top notch. Don’t forget to the dessert.

Such a wonderful restaurant to eat and watch the sunset. We had salads, calamari, and several fish dishes. All of them were delicious. The service was great and the views were stunning. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy an evening.

Whilst staying locally the wife and I drove up to watch the sunset with cocktail in hand. We didn't have dinner reservations, but there is a bar area with a restricted view. The actual golf course was closed (water problems), but the restaurant was quite full and the food looked good. The front of house was friendly and helpful, but the barman was a little surly. We would probably dine there if we went back to Maui, but I think the restaurant closes at 8pm so book early and hit the circa 6pm sunset!

What a great place for a very nice dinner. Escargot was rich and yummy. Poke with the avocado wasabi was delicious. I had the duo fish plate with butter fish and a sea bass. That was a nice combo. Fiance had the filet mignon, pretty good cut of beef. Creme Brulee was excellent. Great golf course and ocean views. Hope to play next time.

NICKS FISHMARKET is an upscale seafood restaurant located in the Fairmont Kealani Maui, offering a lush garden setting and a seafood-driven menu. The restaurant features a curved granite bar, glass wine display, and Mediterranean-inspired details that exude elegance. However, the interior decor with ocean-themed fabric upholstery and shell-shaped lighting fixtures may appear slightly outdated. One of the prominent attractions is an 800-gallon fish tank that adds to the ambiance.
The restaurant is set in a beautiful hotel garden right next to a small, peaceful beach. I recommend coming around sunset, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the view. The cocktails and food were amazing, especially the Nick’s Sunset, a tropical fruit juice and rum blend. The seafood tower was also great, with a nice variety of fresh seafood. I wouldn’t recommend the scallops, they were overly salty. The strawberries Panzin dessert didn’t stand out in flavor, but it was creative and visually impressive, perfect for a date night.

Excellent seafood and even the Filet Mignon was great. The steak had great flavor and was very tender. Staff had no issues substituting side dishes. The atmosphere is great and most seats have a view of the pool area and ocean.

I would say I’m a little disappointed in this place based on how much the bill was. The lamb chops were absolutely phenomenal, however, the filet was a little disappointing. The filet was a bit dry and simply nothing special. Also, the service was a bit too slow for my tastes. It was around 15 mins after we were seated that our server came over to greet us and there was a noticeable wait for food and drinks to arrive at the table. It’s not our servers fault as it seemed that he was running around all night with all of his different tables. But my last impression of this place was their macadamia nut brownie sunday and let me tell you that it made it all worth it!
Christina J — Google review
This spot has so much potential and great service. I’m sure it’s easy for many guests in the hotel but WOULD NOT RECOMMEND if you’re staying off property. Many other good options. Biggest thing for us was small portions. My dish had 3 small tortellinis… I repeat 3… decent flavors but at least normal size portions should be there for the $$$$.

Kō Restaurant, located in the Fairmont Kea Lani, offers a unique dining experience with its sugarcane-plantation-era menu that reflects the diverse ethnic cuisine from Maui's old plantation days. The restaurant's concept is to cook up Hawaiian, Filipino, Portuguese, Korean, Puerto Rican, and European dishes in a gourmet fashion. Executive chef Jonathan Pasion has curated a menu that showcases the culinary influences of various immigrant cultures in Hawaii.
KO in the Fairmont hotel is a very upscale restaurant with a positive upbeat vibe. We’ve been to this hotel before and ate at the fish market restaurant which was very good but a little stuffy compared to KO. The staff was very accommodating. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained all of the dishes very well and his recommendation for me was spectacular. The presentation was spectacular and something you would see on TV. Oliver food was great. We had fish and steak and a side of noodles would definitely stop back in here and have a great meal if you’re on the fence of looking for something stop by here and you won’t be disappointed.

Food was delicious and well-presented. Our top items were the honey lavender shrimp, short ribs (delicious in every iteration across the Kea Lani hotel offerings), and the fresh catch. Octopus appetizer was good, but not great. Tempura lobster was good, but very one-dimensional. Fresh catch, short ribs, and octopus represented in attached photos. I will note that the fresh catch rivaled Mama’s Fish House in terms of quality of the fish, preparation, and overall experience.

Chef Matt De La Cruz (no relation🫣) hit a home run with new menu that's very delicious and is connective with Hawaii and its fruits and bounty. Delicious steamed fish, wagyu steak and an unbelievably delicate strawberry ice dessert to end the meal. Their Mai Tai was different and strong, and was served in a tall glass. The table setting upon arrival has a lovely wooden table setting that focuses on the Valley Isle. I have a total yearn to return to Ko!

Kō delivers an amazing mix of service, setting, and menu focus. The open-air layout offers a comfortable upscale vibe. Staff ( Bryan and Peni ) were friendly, attentive, and perfect for the evening - would highly recommend! The menu reflects local ingredients, with thoughtful updates from Chef Matt. We got to try a lot of the menu and I was stuffed. Good accessibility, suitable for small and large groups. Expect $50–100 per person. Great for locals hosting guests or celebrating special occasions. They offer Kamaʻāina which is rare to find at such a high end restaurant!

IMO, Ko's menu got a whole lot better under their new chef. ATMOSPHERE: Located poolside in the Fairmont Kea Lani. The open air restaurant features trendy decor, spacious booths, high tops, regular tables, and odd bar seating that's split in half; one half of the circular bar is traditional seating while the other half sits on the floor below about 4 steps down, giving diners privacy but no view of anything besides the wall holding up the bar counter. BEVERAGE: Afternoon Ti Vodka-based mojito-like cocktail. FOOD: Their old menu was overpriced, underwhelming Filipino cuisine. Not anymore! Ahi on the Rock Cook it yourself fresh tuna pieces on a blazing hot rock. Very good. Ahi Tataki on Shrimp Toast Flavorful with nice textures. Chilled Bang Bang Chicken & Somen Noodles. Tasty & refreshing. Lavender Honey Crispy Shrimp Traditional dish. Crispy and not overly sweet. Paniolo Bone-In Ribeye Great flavor! SERVICE: Consistently good. TIP: They're currently closed for renovations as of this review.

Nalu's South Shore Grill is an open-air eatery in Kihei, Maui that offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant prides itself on serving seasonal, locally sourced Hawaiian recipes and occasionally features live music. Their breakfast menu boasts hearty comfort food like the loco moco made with local eggs and grass-fed beef, as well as the Black and Blue ahi Benedict and fluffy pineapple-banana pancakes.
Stopped by on a Wednesday evening around 8pm and although it was quite busy, we only had to wait about 10 minutes in line to place our orders and we were able to find a table that suited us best. Overall, we were quite impressed with the quality of service and food served at this popular local restaurant. All staff here are kept quite busy but are friendly and helpful and seemed happy to be working there. Crab Cake & Greens was good with and a nothing special crab cake but with a very fresh and tasty organic salad. Pacific Mahi Mahi was excellent with very tasty Wild caught Pacific Mahi Mahi, sautéed with lilikoi-piccata vinaigrette. Fish & Green Bean Fries with the beer battered Pacific Mahi Mahi, served golden brown was the best deep-fried fish I've had in a long time. Green bean fries were interesting but not that interesting. Roasted Beets & Goat Cheese was excellent with very fresh and tasty roasted beets, organic greens, goat cheese, etc. Ahi Club was exceptional with fresh island yellow fin tuna seared rare, topped with applewood smoked bacon over crisp sourdough. Nalu’s Raw Salad was fresh and tasty. The Straight Up Burger was perfectly cooked medium rare with swiss cheese and bacon and the Korean Bulgogi Burger were both delicious and filling. The toasted brioche bun was perfect for these burgers. With reasonably priced delicious local food, service with a smile and very good live music (although a bit too loud for my tastes), this was our favorite place to dine in Maui. We will be back if we have a chance again.

First time at Nalu’s .I have been reading about it for years and today we checked it out! We Went for Happy Hour and it was great! The Mai Tai’s for $8 is a great price and you can taste the rum! Really good and a fabulous price! We had the happy hour ahi which was really good and worth $7.00. The calamari was good but probably wouldn’t get it again. The ribs were outstanding but for 3 small pieces for happy hour I would skip the happy hour ribs and go for the full order of ribs with rice, Mac salad and kimchi! We ended up ordering a full rib meal to share after the happy hour order because they are that good! Had two Mai Tai’s each because they are that good and such a great price! Not watered down or weak! Really good! Staff is friendly and attentive! No dishes left on the table and everyone is so friendly!

It was one of the only non-hotel affiliated breakfast places we could find on this side of the island and I'm glad we did. Many great breakfast options. Would definitely return for another meal.

Nalu’s is such a unique spot where everything comes together: delicious food, generous portions, fast service, happy hours, and live music. The atmosphere feels both casual and vibrant, making it one of the must-visit places on Maui. A quick tip: check the menu in advance! Here you order and pay first, then grab a table. Don’t be scared off by the long line at the entrance — it moves really fast thanks to this system. Overall: tasty food, great vibes, and a true island experience. Highly recommended!

Nalu’s is one of my go-to spots in Kihei! The staff is always friendly, upbeat, and makes you feel right at home. The location is perfect — easy to get to, with a relaxed open-air vibe that really captures the Maui lifestyle. I stopped in for happy hour and everything was on point. I had the seared ahi, Hawaiian short ribs, and ahi tacos — all absolutely delicious and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The portions are generous for the price, and you can really taste the care that goes into their food. Their happy hour is one of the best around — great prices, generous portions, and awesome drinks. The cocktails are fresh, creative, and the perfect pairing to the food and island atmosphere. If you’re looking for a spot that’s got amazing food, great people, and good vibes all around, Nalu’s is it.

I LOVED The Mill House!!! My family of 5 had lunch here and wish we could have gone back a second time to try more on their menu. The food was all local farm-to-table fresh, flavorful and delicious. The VIEWS while dining on their outdoor patio was INCREDIBLE. Our server Jamie - was friendly, genuine and passionate about what she does. She truly made our visit very special and we tried everything she recommended and loved it all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who travels to Maui. Amazing experience all around!

Lovely atmosphere, delicious fresh food, warm service. You can taste the freshness of vegetables in salad. Some dishes are a little on the salty side, even the fresh bread, but generally very tasty and delicious. Definitely try to sit in the plantation side instead of in the theater. A little pricey for $$ ($115 for lunch for 4), but worth it.

Absolutely fantastic. We only got the small bites and chef's plates to share, but we got a lot! The surroundings and decor are also lovely. We'd hiked the sliding sands trail earlier that day and it was good to sit and enjoy the greenery with the food. It was refreshing to find a place that did such good fresh vegetarian food. Neither my husband nor I are veggie. Our server was Daniel and he was very amiable and provided a lot of insight and tips. Would definitely go back if we'd had more time to try the larger dishes.

Such a beautiful place to dine and enjoy the company of my sweetheart ❤ The setting is as amazingly beautiful on a different level, as Mamas Fish House. We ordered one dish each from Bite, Small Plate, Pasta and Entree, all were fabulously delicious, we savored every morsel! Portions are small, so take your time to taste each flavorful bite. We didn't have time to tour the plantation but will definitely return. The grounds are impeccable and quirky fun, there's plentiful parking and immaculately clean restrooms! We made lunch reservations, but it wasn't necessary, they weren't busy at all, but, I would highly recommend reservations for dinner! This is another must do while on Maui.

Had dinner here for my sister in laws wedding reception. The scenery is very pleasant and made for some nice pictures! The food I had was very good and my wife liked her food a lot as well. We all felt that the server was a bit pushy with us on ordering more food or drinks and was a bit of a turn off. I had said I was good with just ice water and got asked a couple times if I wanted a drink, seemed to be frustrated with people when they didn't want to look at a desert menu because we were all so stuffed. I'm not sure if this is restaurant policy or what but just seemed like it could be cut back a bit.

Outstanding location and exquisite food. Look for outdoor seating by the lagoon for the best experience. The menu changes daily, and everything is cooked to perfection. I found the sauces to be a little heavy for the fish items - since the fish themselves are so fresh and tasty that they don’t need a sauce really. Also, you must try any vegetable dish, as they are mostly from the estate’s gardens, and so so tasty. The restaurant offers kama’aina discount. Updated: so we were back two years later and the food is still exquisite. Service was a little slow this time, maybe due to a busy Friday evening, but overall a great experience.

Lovely views of the valley and mountains. Large patio with shade. The indoor seating is spacious with large doors that open to the patio. The staff are very friendly and make good recommendations. The ahi nachos, prime rib dip, and hamachi Kama are delicious. The cocktails are also fantastic—interesting flavor profiles and very well balanced. Highly recommend.
Kaley K — Google review
The restaurant had a fascinating decor with historical features added into the layout of the dining area. The ambiance was enhanced with the open air setting. The entrees and appetizers were equally beautiful in preparation, however the favor profiles did not match the presentation. The entrees tasted good, but did not have the wow quality that was present in every other aspect of the restaurant.

Kimo's Maui is a renowned seafood restaurant with stunning harbor views, offering classic Hawaiian dishes and tropical craft cocktails. The open-air dining experience provides incredible ocean vistas, making it one of the best places to eat in Lahaina. The menu features local seafood, prime rib, and their famous Hula Pie dessert. Visitors can also enjoy the signature Mai Tai cocktail made with a fresh house juice blend at the lanai bar while taking in the beauty of Maui.
The food here was absolutely incredible. Pricey, but fresh and flavoured well! The fish was melt-in-your-mouth good. The hula pie was delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly to us. The view was also nice, overlooking the ocean. Would definitely go back here!

This was one of my fav restaurant in Maui, love the ocean front view. The breeze, the ocean water. It’s located in Lahaina town. We were there before the fire broke out. Not sure if they rebuild it or not. Food was great. Love the view. Can walk around burn some calories after lunch or dinner. Staffs were wonderful.

We had an excellent meal at Kimo’s . We both had fish dishes, which were delicious. We were there for the sunset, which was amazing. The views from the patio deck are terrific. They had two musicians playing for the sunset hour, which was charming! Our server was attentive and informative. I would highly recommend!

Amazing food. Amazing scenery. This place is an absolute must while on the island! We called ahead and made reservations for 4, and we're able to get right in on time. It is right on the beach, so you get a great view of the ocean! Make sure to bring some sunglasses if you go during sunset because that sun gets brutal as it sets in the evening. Best fish and chips I have ever had (honestly). Also, the hula pie is an absolute must-have for dessert. It most definitely lives up to the hype! Parking is best if you go to the free parking at the shopping center just north 2 block. It's an easy walk, and you can stop at a few gift shops along the way.
Tyson S — Google review
Definitely should get the hula pie! I was happy with the cheeseburger and fries. The fish wasn't bad but tasted bland. Enjoyed the beachfront and even looking over the balcony, we found some nails and crabs on the rocks below which the kids loved! The staff was attentive and friendly. They have an interactive packet for the kids to color and then if they play bingo (find things around them) then they got a free Frisbee! It helped to keep them distracted and in their seats.

Sadly, this is one of those restaurants that used to be really good, great food, great service, etc. But now they just hustle you in and hustle you out. It has become so popular because of the amazing ocean and sunset views. I have always enjoyed the prime rib here, but it was so disappointing this time. Very dry and tasteless. The seafood special was good but not outstanding as it should be based on the pricing and the caliber of restaurant they are trying to be. Don't bother showing up without a reservation, the hostess will be rude and make it very clear she will not have room for you. I'm sorry to say, it's not worth a return trip for me.
David B — Google review
The fish tacos are exceptional, maybe the best I've had. Paired with a draft craft beer IPA made it even better. The Kimo's Baked fish with rice and macaroni salad was also excellent. And to top it off the Hula Pie was super yummy too. The hostess who seated us and our server were friendly and professional. Truly a 5 star experience.
Mark G — Google review
This restaurant is situated on the popular Front Street, right on the water. Unfortunately, we got there after sunset and weren’t able to take in the views. At the time, the live vocalist was finishing up, around 8pm. He was very talented and showed real affection for the crowd. Not sure if that was just that night or if he’s always like that, but it was quite endearing. Our server was fun and friendly. The food was fresh. Taste wise, it was ok. Not great, just good, hence the 4 stars. The vibe was the most significant part here. With the waves crashing beside us, the beautiful music, the mix of customers, and outgoing staff, it’s a great spot to visit while on vacation. Try to get there while the sun is still up!

Nestled in the heart of Kihei, Cafe O'Lei Kihei is a delightful dining destination that captures the essence of Hawaiian hospitality. This charming bar and restaurant boasts a vibrant atmosphere where you can savor an array of delectable dishes, from fresh seafood to sushi, all crafted with local ingredients. Whether you're indulging in their famous blackened mahi-mahi or enjoying a refreshing cocktail after a day of adventure, this casual eatery provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation.
We went to Cafe O’Lei to celebrate our daughter’s birthday while on vacation in Maui and we absolutely loved it! The food was truly outstanding, the lobster risotto was one of the best meals I’ve had anywhere. The service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and we had a lovely evening. Highly recommend!
Terese L — Google review
Cafe O’Lei in Kihei is such a gem! We stopped in for lunch and left completely satisfied. I ordered the steak tip sandwich, and let me tell you — the fries were absolute perfection. Crispy, golden, and somehow stayed crunchy until the very last bite (seriously, how do they do that?). The sandwich itself was solid — juicy steak tips, melty cheese, and a horseradish aioli that added just the right amount of zing. I only wish it had a little more heat, but that’s just the spice-lover in me talking. The bread had a slightly bitter aftertaste, but it was still hearty enough to hold everything together without falling apart — points for that. My partner went for the fish of the day, which was fresh, perfectly cooked, and had that just-caught Hawaiian flavor you can’t fake. The sides were just as thoughtfully prepared, and everything on the plate felt fresh and well-balanced. On top of that, the service was genuinely amazing — warm, friendly, and attentive without hovering. The place is spotless, too, which always makes me feel like the kitchen is running just as smoothly as the dining room. If you’re in Kihei and looking for a spot with great food, super clean vibes, and service that makes you feel taken care of, this is a must-try. Pro tip: get the steak tip sandwich and a side of fries, and don’t be afraid to ask for extra aioli — you’ll thank me later.

Make a reservation! This is a highly popular restaurant any night of the week and it’s worth it to plan ahead. Everyone comes here for the Maui Onion Soup En Croute and they are right to do so. Cooked in a wood fire oven and delivered fresh and hot to your table. Delicious drinks made expertly, friendly and professional staff, chill and beautiful atmosphere. We ended up staying for a full meal instead of our original plan for soup and a cocktail. Everything was delectable. Make sure to make time to catch the sunset on Kihei beach before dinner.

This restaurant is located in the center Kihei and is an excellent restaurant for local dishes and flavors. It has a casual atmosphere with comfortable tables. The staff is friendly and very efficient. The food is excellent, on par with popular fine dining restaurants. It's known for its mahi mahi. Anything you order will be delicious. Large windows surround the Hawaiian themed dining room. A full bar and counter anchor the center of the dining room.

It is a truly extraordinary experience where you get to know your food: especially as a newbie on Maui! Funny and knowledgeable waiter - a true slam poet! Mahi Mahi fish blackened or as fish and chips are tasty with perfect batter and crunchy French fries. But when it is on the menu, you have to have the Ono fish with Cocos curry on rice. And try Hale Kapena and Maui wowie! And when you still have place in your happy belly try the deserts! We will be back!! Slam poetry of the day: „the ocean is our cooler, the mountains are our ice house“.

It was our last day in Maui and we decided to have dinner in here. After couple of the bad experiences with the food and mostly customer service we didn’t expect anything miraculous, but everything starting with the wonderful hostess, bartender and ending with the marvellous food and cocktails - was gorgeous!!!Thank you for a wonderful last day on Maui. We really enjoyed each bite and sip!

Fantastic!!! We wandered off the resorts to try something local and this place was in the top favorites! The outside first appears to be less than top quality but once you make it upstairs and into the restaurant ans try the food and drinks, you'll want to go back. Our sever was on top of his game and we can't find one thing to complain about. We'll make this a must go to spot everytime we visit maui.

We had a fabulous meal at Cafe O Lei in Kīhei. It’s unassuming outside and the atmosphere brightens as soon as you walk in the door. We were wowed from start to finish. The food was amazing and the service was friendly and attentive. Our group had the lettuce wraps (best we’ve had anywhere!), coconut shrimp, eggplant napoleon (beautiful presentation), prime rib, and macadamia nut roast pork. The mashed potatoes were out of this world! The ratings are spot on (which isn’t always the case). Will definitely eat there again next time we’re in Maui and recommend you don’t miss it.

The Gazebo is a popular dining spot located in the Napili Shores condo complex, offering American cuisine with a focus on breakfast. Despite its somewhat hidden location behind the resort's pool, the restaurant draws large crowds, often forming long lines even before its 7:30 am opening time. Guests waiting in line are offered fresh coffee and are rewarded with stunning ocean views and a relaxed beach-hut atmosphere upon being seated.
Worth the wait! Come early or plan for a late brunch. We were told to arrive at 6:30am because seating is very limited. When we arrived, there were 2-3 other people in line but the line was very long by opening time. Another perk to arriving early: you get to choose your table! We had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. Tables seat up to 4 people, so if you come in a large group, you will have to split up. Our food was served soon after we ordered which was a pleasant surprise. I recommend the Mac nut pancakes and the eggs Benedict although our waitress said the omelettes are outstanding. Speaking of our waitress, she was awesome, spunky, and so friendly! Homemade coconut syrup and maple syrup made our pancakes even better. The atmosphere is open-air with a nice ocean breeze and lots of little birds flying in and out of the space. If you enjoy breakfast with a view, check out this place but be prepared to wait in line for a while or wake up early to get a good spot.
Melia — Google review
If you’re in Maui and don’t go to The Gazebo… well, you’re missing out. Their macadamia pancakes are legendary—seriously, probably the best on the entire island. Yes, you might have to wait in line for an hour, but think of it as building up your appetite for pancake heaven. Totally worth it. Bonus points: the little souvenir kiosk next door is super cute, affordable, and genuinely Maui—perfect for grabbing a small keepsake while you drool over your pancakes. They don’t serve loco moco anymore, so forget that and go all-in on pancakes, maybe with some sweet pineapple on the side. You’ll leave happy, full, and already dreaming about your next visit.
Daniel C — Google review
We got the scrambled eggs and the combo pancakes. They were delicious and amazing and the servings here are huge. Definitely recommend coming here as it opens so you don't have to wait in line. If you come later, just know you can do takeout and that will be way way faster.
Minal S — Google review
Popular breakfast spot with beach views. We read other reviews that recommended arriving here earlier than the 7:30am opening time. We arrived at 7am and it was 35 minute wait after opening. The line moved slowly because there’s limited seating and people don’t rush but it’s a vacation vibe, so what do you expect. We ordered the combo pancakes and the half order of fried rice. The half order portion was huge - I still had leftovers after the meal. Cash and credit cards accepted but it’s more expensive to use credit cards. The view of the water was great and our waitress was efficient. Everyone was chilling and assuming that you’re not in a rush, it is a good place to stop by.
Shanelle S — Google review
Really nice spot for breakfast. Great views of the ocean and relatively affordable for the quantity provided. I would highly recommend the omelettes. We also ordered a shrimp sandwich which was really fresh and tasty. There is ample parking available and don’t miss out on the fresh fruit! Highly recommended.
Yash M — Google review
You’re coming here for the incredible ocean and beach views whilst enjoying a decent breakfast. Seriously, it’s the atmosphere that is the selling point. But you’ll pay the price, not so much in dollars but time. People in line said it would take an hour and came previous days where it was even longer. For pancakes and eggs? Yeah. So a pro tip: order by phone and it takes 25-20 minutes. Grab a table or lounger right next to the restaurant outside by the hotel pool. Same incredible view but much faster! But they’re super nice. They have umbrellas to shade from the sun. They gave cups of ice water too. Food: Pancakes were average. Not particularly fluffy or special quality. And they gave a huge platter of cream which of course made them better. The omelette with Swiss cheese (forgot the official name) was pretty good but ya gotta like cheese. Portuguese sausages were the best item IMO. Breakfast potatoes pretty good too. But the toast wasn’t very toasty.
G L — Google review
We waited an hour in the rain for a table and it was totally worth it! We over ordered though! Next time, we will order half as much and split it. The pancake combo will be something I dream about. We also enjoyed the breakfast fried rice. There was so much food that we will be eating fried rice for dinner. 🤣🤣🤣 I can’t wait to come here again! Ohhhh—-the coffee was delicious. It’s local. Maui Ona. I bought 3 bags!
Lisa B — Google review
When you heard people say there will be line, on serious note there is at least 1 hr of waiting in line. A girl in front of us fainted after 45min of waiting in sun due to dehydration. But staff were nice and immediately attended to her, helped with some water & Juice. Wait is all worth it. We loved the food and service. Quantities are big, be generous while you order. We will come back again on our next visit Maui.

Don't miss this place to eat!! Impeccable service and food. We were so lucky to get Maria as our server. She was just the sweetest and gave us great recommendations. Perfect amount of attention. We had the nachos, fries, and Ono. We were lucky enough that Ono was the catch of the day. Best flavors, my husband and I ever tasted in a fish. It was like the filet mignon of fish!! Again, do not miss this place to eat!

This is a great place for a bite to eat or some good drinks. I had the garlic friend lo mein and added some grilled chicken to it. That meal was amazing and just the right amount. My wife had the hurricane fries which were also very good and spicy. Our server was super attentive. It was a little pricey but everything is on Maui. But the food was worth every penny. None of us had any complaints. Highly recommend this place.

We had seen this place on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins & Dives and when we were looking for a lunch spot today we thought we would drive to Kihei and try it! It absolutely did NOT disappoint!! It was very easy for us to get a lovely shaded table on the patio. Our waiter Daniel was fantastic! We decided to go with three of the shared plates…Bacon fried Brussel Sprouts, garlic fried noodles, and crispy pork belly. The pork belly was so good and gone so fast that we ordered another one so that we could take a picture of it! It was definitely the first place winner…the chili gastrique and the papaya salad completely balanced off the richness of the pork belly! The garlic noodles were epic…these are the kind of noodles that you could just eat every day and never get tired of! The brussel sprouts were scrumptious! Even if you don’t like Brussel Sprouts, you will love these!! Great dishes and a total flavour bomb of yumminess!! Definitely going back again before we leave for Canada again!

We had a great experience at Three’s Bar & Grill in Kihei! The food was delicious, and the mimosas were absolutely refreshing. It’s a very kid-friendly spot, which made our family brunch so easy and enjoyable. We loved the volcano photos on the walls—they add such a fun local vibe to the place. We actually found out about it through the PacWhale Foundation, which offers a 20% discount—so glad we decided to stop by! A special shoutout to the staff, who were so kind and generous. I accidentally left my bag behind, and when I returned later, they had kept it safely for me. Truly thoughtful people who made our visit even better. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a relaxed Maui atmosphere. 🌺🍹

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Three’s Bar & Grill, and the experience was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting ambiance set the tone for a special evening. We decided to splurge a little and try the lobster — and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations. The lobster was cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The presentation was elegant, and it was clear that real care was taken in its preparation. But a great dish is only half the story — the service made the night truly memorable. Maria was our server, and she was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seemed to enjoy ensuring our experience was top-notch. Her friendly demeanor and professional touch elevated the evening. The menu at Three’s is impressively diverse, with something to appeal to many tastes. From fresh seafood to hearty mains, and a wide selection of beverages (including cocktails, wines, and artisanal drinks), you’re spoiled for choice. We spent quite a while just browsing the menu — which is always a good sign. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, striking a nice balance between casual and relaxed. Soft lighting, tasteful decor, and a pleasant level of background music all contributed to an environment where you can enjoy both conversation and your meal without distractions. All told, we left feeling delighted and looking forward to returning. Three’s Bar & Grill offers outstanding food, top-tier service (thanks again, Maria!), and a warm, inviting vibe. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner, special occasion, or just a night out to treat yourself.

Our last night of a two-week trip was spent here. The kids were left at the condo so we could have a date night. Our only regret was that we couldn't go back. Honestly, we would have gone every other night for apps. I was a professional chef for 10 years, we ate all over Maui, and this place was by far the best. And the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back next time on the first day of our trip!

Guests can enjoy hearty meals by the fireplace, featuring dishes like lamb chops with red wine demi-glace and Molokai sweet potato hash.
The views are spectacular! The landscaping is gorgeous. The house salad was lightly dressed with a lemon vinaigrette, the house omlette soooo good (spinach, tomatoes, onions, and lots of cheese), my partner had a burger and said it was amazing! Last we had the (NY style) cheesecake. Posting pics of the landscaping and cheesecake. Really the best meal at the best place! A fountain, koi, piles of succulents, irises, the view that is breathtaking, and an outdoor pizza oven! The most fun and most delicious we've had since we've been visiting!

Things that need to be done to improve: - Get rid of the mildew smell in all interior places (replace carpets, rugs, curtains, etc) - Coordinate your service better (most people want to have their drinks before the food arrives - if asked for the check, bring the check before preparing silverware for future customers) - Improve your food hygiene (don‘t put food out on a window sill for the server to pick up in the open air with insects and birds flying around, picking toppings off the pizza) - Provide pillows for the benches in the little gazebos. Noone wants to sit on concrete while eating out!

We stopped at the Kula Lodge restaurant and were incredibly impressed. The view was amazing even on an overcast day and the service was excellent. We tried the onion soup and it was such a good start to our meal with a delicious generous portion of puff pastry on top. Then we had the prawns, the server did let us know they came with the shells on but the 2 seconds of effort to remove them was so worth the incredible flavor. I can’t imagine anyone complaining about something so small but clearly people have. My husband had the chicken and waffles and was so pleased with how crispy and tender the chicken was and the fluffiness of the waffles. I just wish I had caught the server’s name because she was so kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend, you won’t be disappointed

Excellent overall Experience. Japengo has a fantastic location on the Hyatt Property, overlooking the Pools, Ocean and massive open Lobby front side. The approach is cool and overall layout is very fun with so many different seating options and perspectives. Cool round bar near entry to hang out at and take it in. Our server Burt was very gracious and knowledgeable and really made us comfortable talking about all things related. We had Spicy Edamane, Seared Hamachi and Garlic Noodles to start and they were all outstanding with great very distinct flavors and textures. For dinner we had the Chefs Special Roll and a Blackened Ahi Roll. Both were beautiful and delicious, very good. Both were California Roll inside, then the Chefs Special had Ahi and Onaga with Black Squid Ink Roe and the other had Blackened Ahi with Wasabi Roe. They treated us to a Pineapple Upside Down Cake which Beautiful and absolutely Delicious. Thank you, Burt and Japengo Team

Tip* - you can just pull up to the front valet area and let them know you are there for reservations at Japengo and they will provide free parking for you. (Get your ticket validated at the restaurant) and don’t forget to tip your valet! We had the chicken and the steak. The steak was the best steak on our entire visit. Super moist and tender. Perfect. The jadori chicken was tasty, nothing wrong with it but it didn’t impress. We also got the mango prawn salad which could have been more / better. Clams were good in a white wine garlicky sauce - yum. I was eating this sauce with my spoon at the end. Many dishes were highlighting the shiitake mushrooms and the mushroom side dish was also good. Service was good, a little slow. We were done with apps and plates taken and waited another 35 minutes for our main course to come out. Seemed a bit long. We got an amazing dessert there that we think was the best one out of the 4-5 we had around Maui during our stay. It was a layered browny / chocolate cake and ice cream dish and it was very tasty. We would definitely go back and try more of their dishes. We were bummed we didn’t try the fish instead of the chicken. Next time!

The sushi here is great but they wanna kill you with overcompensating rice due to the restaurant being on hotel grounds and thus commanding a premium price. I'm ok with PREMIUM price but not premium rice portions. It ruins the fish ratio. Also, seating at the patio is hot and humid. This creates a problem as the fish get warm on first bite from the sushi chef's table. Inside seating is very limited. Definitely a hit and a miss. The curry seafood dish was just alright. Lobster was over grilled. With Masa name attached to it, they should really use better wasabi. They can afford it
Jack B — Google review
The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful, and the drinks were great. The service was decent, but the food was honestly quite underwhelming. I’m from the Midwest and have had better sushi from my local grocery store! The rolls lacked flavor, and for the price, I expected much more. Unfortunately, it just didn’t live up to the hype. If you’re visiting Maui and looking for truly good sushi, I wouldn’t recommend this spot, but it’s a lovely place for cocktails and ambiance.

Fantastic menu. There’s both inside layers of flavors were unreal and they combined some ingredients I’ve never tried before. All if it perfectly executed in a luxury setting. Come here for sundown! Nice selection is sake as well.

It's good, but prices are getting up there. Only worth it if you're staying at the resort. The patio has a nice view for sunset, but you can get that from any beach for free.

Nestled in the lush green country of Kula, 808 Bistro is a casual all-day cafe that offers a delightful mix of local dishes and breakfast staples. The restaurant's location provides easy access to various attractions such as Ho'okipa Beach for windsurfing, the artsy town of Paia, and the cowboy town of Makawao.
We stopped at Kula Bistro for breakfast after watching the sunrise at Haleakalā while on our honeymoon, and it was the best decision! We ordered the corned beef hash eggs benedict and the steak and eggs—hands down the best breakfast we had on the island. Everything was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. The service was wonderful too, super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in Maui!

This a hard review, the place is cute and the food is fresh and really good with huge portions. I did however find a thin metal wire in my mouth from my spaghetti, I first thought it was a rosemary stem or somethingbut when I took it out it was definitely metal ....they said it was from the brush they clean the grill with...they offered half off my plate as a sorry. I didn't care to make a stink or anything but the more I thought about it ..thats pretty dangerous and their reaction was pretty non chalant lol ..... Otherwise the food was really good and portions are huge

This is an awesome spot off the beaten path. Their menu goes from grilled cheese sandwiches to blackened New York steak or lobster risotto. They don’t serve alcohol, but they encourage you to go across the street to grab a beer or a bottle of wine to bring it in for dinner from a local market. We came here with four kids, it was chaos amidst amazing food. We will be back. Ask for Liz.

We stopped in after visiting the botanical gardens and had an amazing meal here. Great vegetarian options and unique flavor combos. It felt like a high end restaurant off the beaten path. Our servers were so helpful and attentive. We had the cheese curds, caprese salad and coconut shrimp. The highlight was the garlic butter served with the warm bread basket. Don’t miss their unique frozen desserts and pastries. We took some back for later

I was visiting friends in Maui from Chicago and this is one of their favorite restaurants. It is now my favorite too! The location is beautiful, food menu and options are amazing. Portion sizes are very generous. Service is fast. Bakery is absolutely yummy. Staff is attentive, warm, and welcoming. Our server Janice clearly enjoyed her job and people. She made us feel like family.

It was so good we had to go twice on this trip to Maui. It is worth the drive! In fact skip Mama’s Fish House. The food is a higher quality, the portions are larger, and you don’t have to make a reservation or wait for 45 minutes to get a table!

Matteo's Osteria is a charming trattoria known for its modern Italian cuisine and extensive wine selection. Since 2013, chef Matteo Mistura has been delighting guests with scratch-made pastas, fresh fish dishes, and an impressive wine room. The restaurant offers a globally influenced wine list featuring bottles from Italy and California to complement the local catch. With over 60 wines by the glass, it boasts one of the largest selections on Maui.
A Hidden Gem in Maui! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a cozy, upscale vibe that still feels relaxed. I ordered the lasagna and was completely blown away, easily one of the best I’ve ever had. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly layered with just the right balance of cheese, sauce, and pasta. You can really tell it’s made from scratch with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care. The service was also top-notch, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, I highly recommend stopping by Matteo’s. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

Last night we enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Matteo’s in Wailea! This place never disappoints. The service from Suki was excellent. He was warm and attentive. I began with my favorite blood orange Italian soda and Suki recommended to add fresh mint, which was a delightful touch. We always start with our favorite meatball appetizer, it’s the perfect way to begin the meal. The Cesar salad was fresh and full of flavor. Chicken parm is our go-to entrée, and we love that you can swap out the pasta to suit your taste (a small detail that makes a big difference!). We also ordered our other favorite dish, the baked lasagna. Warning, this dish comes out piping hot and packed with rich, comforting flavors, it’s definitely a dish to enjoy at a mindful pace. Consistently delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere make Matteo’s a favorite we return to again and again!

Came to make a visit to Matteo Osterio after seeing a clip of Guy Fieri eating here. Ordered Fettuccine frutti di mare squid ink pasta with crab, clams, shrimp, with tomato, garlic, white wine, lobster veloute sauce. Ordered Bolognese which is made with tagliatelle pasta with maui co beef and Italian sausage with tomato and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The fettucine frutti di mare and the bolognese were probably some of the best I have ever had. I know they are known for the Bolognese and lasagna but I highly recommend trying the fettucine frutti di mare if you make a visit here. Also ordered the tiramisu for dessert. The mascarpone cream was a little too sweet for my liking but overall it was a great and to a phenomenal dinner. Reservations are highly recommended. Parking is free and adequate spots located in plaza parking lot.

Brought the whole family out for disappointing, bland pasta. We tried the squid ink pasta, bolognese, and the chicken parm, but the best tasting entree was butter noodles… This was overpriced and a major misstep during our Maui vacation. The chicken was overcooked. The seafood was under-seasoned. The appetizers were fine, but not exceptional. The wait staff and venue are lovely. We just didn’t enjoy any of the food.

This place is a gem! The food was wonderful and if you’re gluten free they offer pasta options. We went on a girls trip and were all impressed! The eggplant appetizer was to die for but everything was soooo good. I am a foodie and I highly recommend!

We had the chance to visit Matteo’s while visiting Maui and it was by far our favorite restaurant of our trip! They have authentic Italian cuisine with a great variety of dishes ranging from pastas to seafood to chicken entrees. They are very celiac aware and offer great gluten free options including gluten free bread and most of their dishes can be made gluten free. Service was great and food came out very fast and was delicious. They have a wonderful wine selection as well! Beautiful atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Definitely recommended this place!

Oh, how the years keep piling on. My gang took me out for my birthday dinner here. It was the first time for all of us and definitely won't be our last. LOCATION: They're within the Wailea Town Center, a small strip mall located behind the new Residence Inn Marriott. Parking at night was plentiful due to the other businesses being closed. ATMOSPHERE: They've done a great job with transforming the space into a very warm, inviting and chic eatery. Seating is a mix of in and out, with a small bar, all-glass wine "cellar" and open-view kitchen. MENU: Italian fare including apps, salads, pastas, pizzas, fish, steak, kids menu, happy hour. BEVERAGE: Sicilian Rose This Ketel One martini included prosecco which gave it a nice fizz and sweetened with a white peach nectar. Absolutely delish. So much so, I had four of them!? Or was it five? I wasn't driving so I didn't care, lol! FOOD: House Bread My dislike for focaccia is slowly fading as I loved this. Instead of butter, it came with a healthier hummus spread. Caesar Salad The chunky-cut Romaine leaves were fresh and well-coated in a creamy-tangy caesar dressing and sprinkled with shaved parmesan. Very good version. Bruschetta Al Tonno Because we were a party of four, we added an additional bruschetta so we could each have one. The raw ahi was utmost fresh and teamed with a mix of fresh tomatoes, salty capers, garlic and basil. Crunchy, savory, sweet; the best of three worlds. Bruschetta slices were a bit small but the wonderful flavors made up for their petiteness. Filetto I was torn between the bolognese pasta and this dish but after seeing pics of this, I was sold due to its mouth-watering dark brown sauce. The tenderloin was amazingly tender. I asked for medium rare but it came out more medium; no biggie. Flavor and moisture were strengths of this dish as it was doused in a savory, dark brown demi mushroom sauce. Total heaven. Stewed cherry tomatoes added a nice acidic balance. I failed to comprehend that the lumpy (a positive to me) mashed potatoes were infused with chunks of gorgonzola cheese, a variety I'm not fond of due to its boldness, and was the only downfall. DESSERT: I was treated to a decadent tiramisu in a cup, topped with a sole birthday candle. So sweet of them! One of my friends opted for the affogato which looked divine and must've been as it was devoured in a snap! SERVICE: Absolutely professional, friendly and took great care of us the entire night. Thank you! OVERALL: I'm being more austere with my five star ratings but Matteo's truly deserves it.

Pita Paradise is a hidden gem in the Wailea Gateway Center, offering a blend of Greek and Italian cuisine with a sea-to-table concept. The warm interiors are adorned with murals, creating a cozy atmosphere for locals and tourists alike. The restaurant prides itself on using fish caught by its owner, ensuring fresh and high-quality seafood dishes. From grilled Mahi Mahi to Mediterranean tapas and cocktails, the menu features an array of delectable options.
The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are excellent. I started with the ziziki bread, which was delicious and a great way to begin the meal. I had Johnny’s Fresh Catch, featuring mahi mahi with Mediterranean slaw, and it was outstanding, especially with the spicy ziziki sauce. For any pitas that come with lettuce and tomato, I recommend substituting the Mediterranean slaw—it’s a great upgrade. The baklava ice cream cake for dessert was amazing, with fresh baklava, vanilla ice cream, and a honey drizzle that was even better than I expected.

The first time I ate here back in 2014 it was very good. In 2025, not so much. ATMOSPHERE: Quaint corner spot on the lower level of the Wailea Gateway Center strip mall, with a small and private outdoor area seating area with big umbrellas. The bistro's interior has a very warm look and feel, almost romantic even. RESERVATIONS: Recommended, but we got seated immediately at the bar. FOOD: Lamb Pasta No longer offered but damn, it was tasty. Hummus -n- Pita This was a tasty little app that's now extinct. Lamb Kabob I had high hopes of eating a delish kabob like we had in Istanbul, but this recipe needed a lot more seasoning. The meat was fairly tender. DESSERT: Baklava Ice Cream I love ice cream and loved this too. SERVICE: We sat at the bar and had excellent service.

We had the best meal of our trip to Maui at Pita Paradise! As vegetarians, it can sometimes be hard to find great options, but this place absolutely delivered. We started with the pesto pitza appetizer — the pesto was incredibly flavorful and paired perfectly with the fresh veggies. For the entrée, the eggplant arrabbiata pasta was the highlight of the night, with a rich, unique sauce full of eggplant and onions that gave it amazing flavor and texture. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails and local beers, all recommended by our server, and they were fantastic. On top of the amazing food, the ambience was beautiful, and the live music added a wonderful touch to the evening. Huge shoutout to our server — she was so kind, friendly, and her suggestions made the meal perfect. Can’t wait to come back here on our next visit to Maui. Highly recommend!

Rather disappointed with food, the menu is limited and appealing, but the execution is very basic. The fish of the day was way too cooked (and way too expensive compared to meat, for 2 small skewers), the tuna tartare did not have any taste of tuna because of the amount of sauce. The outside is quite nice, though. And our waitress, Chloe, was fantastic.

Where do you find the best value in all of Wailea? Right here… at Pita Paradise. The owners are awesome… I remember going to their parents’ Greek Bistro back in the day… and that same heart is alive here today… The Mediterranean chicken pita… packed with flavor... The lamb gyro pita… classic and perfect… The Zeus burger… (A knockout) And the ahi appetizer… unreal freshness straight from the ocean… Don’t sleep on the chicken Parm either.. This isn’t just food… it’s sea-to-table done right. Captain Johnny still brings in the catch daily… and you can taste the difference… The service is warm… the vibe is authentic… and the value? In Wailea, nothing else even comes close. Mahalo you guys!!!

Small bakery / coffee shop / breakfast spot on our travels to Haleakalā NP. We tried it all too. A small coffee, a latte, two entrees, bread to go and a day old crisp for the table. Really cute local vibes coffee shop with counter service serving a full breakfast. They have espresso drinks and a case of house made baked goods as well. Breakfast was outstanding. After a morning visit to Haleakala, this spot is a MUST visit. Nonetheless, the drive here is gorgeous which is part of Mauis upcountry area! I think we had a little too much to eat, but I do not regret it. I had the Tropi-Mango Muffin, Ice Coffee, Berry Waffle, and two breakfast dishes that really hit the spot. Please be patient when waiting in line. There a are plenty of tourists and the options of food and delicious sweets make it difficult to decide on what to get. Though I didn't have everything on the menu, I did speak to a local and she told me she visits 1-2 times a week and has had everything on the menu. This speaks volume! Go-go-go! This charming eatery offers a delightful menu featuring fresh options like the Seascape Cobb Salad with Cajun Mahi Mahi and Crab Cake, as well as hearty sandwiches that are perfect after exploring the aquarium.
We did the $35 3 course meal offered when buying our aquarium tickets and it was really great food. I didn't know what to expect but the dish we had was top notch, one of the best meals we have had here. I think the value for what we paid was really good! A lot of people complaining about the pricing, but you're on a beach front restaurant in Maui, not sure what people expect. Also had a cocktail which was delicious and really reasonable. Highly recommend the 3 course meal option!

Was recommended after our helicopter tours. Stop at the Maui Ocean Center. It is attached to the aquarium. Ordered rhe Canada's (Cathch of the day) which was Onaga (snapper) with shrimp and taro potatoes. It was amazing. We also ordered the tempura lobster tail. Different but still excellent. All the food was cooked to perfection! I'm not a shrimp fan but these were cooked perfectly! Our server Caysha was extremely nice and helpful. Food came out quick. It is outdoor seating so you have to deal with flies and birds and an occasional chicken but it did not take away from the experience. Decently priced for the quality of the food. We really enjoyed everything about this place! Highly recommended for service, taste, and view!

The view was incredible and the menu offers a wide variety of plates. I ordered the poke bowl on the waitress’s recommendation. The bowl arrived and was a beautiful thing to behold. I picked up a fork and poked it into a square piece of tender fish covered in a spicy sauce. Then I made the mistake and put the bite in my mouth...now and forever more I will be seeking to repeat that experience. The bite was so beautiful, so subtle, so sublime, if it was my last meal; that would have been better….the taste was such perfection that I literally cried. I have never yet in all my sixty years experienced such an emotional reaction to a bite of food, but before that bite I had never known food could be such an orgasmic experience. The curried peas and the six minute egg….the beautiful and perfectly dressed salad…the sticky rice…all of it….a food-gasm I had never imagined possible. The bowl was $30…who could pontificate that such an experience would cost so little. It stopped all conversation and each person at the table focused on the bowl or plate of pleasure before them. They had different things. None of us shared bites of dinner as we devoured in a blessed ritual the wonder before us. Run, don’t walk. You don’t want to live another day without experiencing this food. Bowing down to the chef and the magic hands that put this together for us.

The food was good, and the view was great. The staff was friendly. What surprised me the most, and why I can't give it five stars, is the lack of services for kids. They have a high chair, but that's about all. There are no special water cups with lids and straws for children, and nothing to keep them occupied while we wait for food. I would expect more from a restaurant in an aquarium where the target audience is families with kids.

Best Poke on the island hands down. I went here three times during my trip. Ordered the Shoyu Ahi, Spicy Ahi, and the Kalua Pork. All were great. The fish was very fresh and were cut to bigger pieces than what I was used to back in CA. The Kalua pork was also very tasty. Would def go back again!

Got the Tako Sesame, Pipikaula Poke Style, and Ahi Fried Garlic with Ahi Shoyu — all for just $27! So good and totally worth it! 🐙🐟
Candice W — Google review
I had the highest hopes for poke here - I’d expected it to be the highlight of my holiday. Unfortunately it was disappointing and I believe the solution might be improved refrigeration. I’m writing this review with the hope that this feedback will be helpful to them. There was so much non-Ahi poke selection (scallop and taco pokes looked especially amazing) that I was tempted to try but I wanted locally caught Ahi. Despite coming in closer to closing time, their most popular pokes were still in stock. The woman behind the counter was so lovely and personable. I ordered a plate with kalua pork, lomi lomi, Shoyu poke and steamed rice (with furikake). I also ordered a half pound of the Hawaiian Style (was like limu poke (seaweed, sesame oil) plus onion). It’s also a liquor store so I bought a bottle of rosé to take back to the hotel. Kalua pig was lovely - tender, juicy with just the right amount of smoke. The lomi lomi was my favourite - great balance of fresh, sweet, acidity, salt. Unfortunately both pokes were starting to feel slimy and the flavours weren’t as clean as what they should have been (started tasting fishy). I’d kept the half pound poke in a separate bag from the warmer plate but it too was room temperature and starting to feel slimy. I wonder whether a colder display fridge would result in improved quality towards the end of the day. I didn’t feel comfortable eating the leftover pokes the next day.

I actually liked their tako kimchee the best which says a lot cause I don’t usually like tako poke as much. You can order smaller sizes than their cups so just let them know. They won’t fill it up all the way.

My husband and I rode bikes up and down hills on our honeymoon 10 miles round trip to try poke from Tamaras. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Probably the best food we had all vacation across 3 islands. Definitely recommend the shoyu and spicy!

This is a hidden gem for cheap local fresh poke on Maui ! It is just a liquor store with a poke counter but it didn’t disappoint. Nothing special just good quality poke bowls.

Best pokè. Try the spicy sea scallop and red sea salt ahi pokè. Awesome liquor selection. Tequila options were great. Can't wait to return to Maui

The best Poke bowl I ever had in my life!!!!!! You guys need to go to this place for Poke, the bowl is very generous and extremely tasty! and fair price. I definitely will go again for more. The lady super nice explained to us how to make the order. The place seems very clean and nice even though it is located inside a gas station/liquor store. Perfectly to stop by and grab some poke and a beer because also de selection for wine and liquor are amazing!

Takeout Restaurant
Nestled within a Shell station in North Kihei, Havens is a delightful culinary gem that has quickly become a favorite among locals and savvy travelers alike. Founded by Maui's own Chef Zach Sato, this eatery prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create mouthwatering dishes. The menu features an enticing selection of temaki sushi and smash burgers, with the added bonus of noodles available at their storefront.
This is the best kept secret of the area. The food was so great. The fish sandwich was packed full of layers of flavor and perfectly cooked fish. Noodle dishes were excellent. Great price, too. Quick service, walked up for take out, and had the food ready in under 10 minutes. Absolutely recommend this place.

We wanted a burger tonight and this one looked like the one. So we went. Great little place, off the beaten track but worth the trip. Friendly service and reasonably quick. Excellent value for the money. Now, the burger... Amazing. So glad we came tonight. Burger was a bit messy to eat, the way it should be. Tots and frozen are quite big and easily shared between two people. Would love to come again. Hope we do!

We heard about this place from The Hawaii Vacation Guide blog. Holy smokes! It did not disappoint!! And the prices are some of the lowest we’ve seen on Maui our entire trip! Good portion sizes, too. I ordered easily online (they have pics of most of the menu items) and our order was ready in 20 minutes. The North Shore Shrimp Plate was so good I never wanted it to end. Kids loved the smash burgers! Wish I had taken more pics but if you need affordable delicious takeout food in Kihei, this is your spot!!! The noodles looked amazing—wish I could stay longer and try them!!!

The unchanging food scene in central Maui motivated me to drive to the south side for something new. Havens is Maui's newest eatery, opened by chef Zach Sato, formerly of Merriman's and The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea (the latter being a favorite of mine). ATMOSPHERE: They've taken over the former Suda Store space, sharing the building with the Shell gas station's convenience store. I knew I was in the right place as a five-alarm cloud of burger-grilling smoke punched me in the face as I entered the takeout-only eatery. The place was buzzing, especially due to their short operating hours of 10am - 3pm. MENU: Noodles (saimin, ramen, chow fun), oxtail soup, smash burgers in seven different selections, salad, sushi. FOOD: Deluxe Smash Burger - $9.00 Smash burgers are patties that are literally smashed on the grill to lock in the flavors and moisture, even resulting in an appealing texture. Don't think you're getting a skinny patty as this burger had some major weight to it as I picked it up which was a total surprise to me. The juices from the meat combined with the flavors from the dill pickles, melted American cheese and OG sauce (thousand island-based if I'm not mistaken) was so Haven-ly! Highly recommended! Crinkle Fries - $3.00 Your mainstream, frozen variety. The portion size was big enough for two to share. Tan Tan Ramen - $15.00 Not many places serve this complex broth and Havens hit it outta the park! Thick, creamy, spicy and filling, their version of sesame seed-based broth is very close to the benchmark recipe at Goma Tei Ramen on Oahu. Toppings included pork belly, Chinese broccoli, bamboo, garlic cloves and a "jammy" egg which was more hard-boiled than gooey and the only downfall of the dish. I can't comment on the true texture of the noodles as I had to warm everything up at home. A bit pricey but it's cheaper than flying to Oahu! SERVICE: I was immediately greeted and placed a walk-in order. A short 10-minutes later I had food-in-hand. OVERALL: The drive was totally worth it. Trying the Umami Smash Burger next.

I recently tried the Teppanyaki Style Steak Plate at Havens, featuring a 10 oz Angus New York steak. I asked for the steak to be cooked chef's style, and it was incredibly tender and delicious. The photo I took shows the steak halfway through eating . The vegetables served with it were also great. I first noticed Havens when at the Shell station for a car wash and saw many people ordering food. My decision to come back and try it out was definitely worth it. The meal was enjoyable and felt worth the price. Highly recommend for a satisfying steak meal. Even though it is located at the gas station there is still stool and counter top seating with the ocean visible from a portion. The staff was extremely friendly. Also free refills on soda :-)

This is a perfectly good burger place, but don’t go with high expectations. I got the breakfast burger. It was well cooked and the bun was soft. It was pretty greasy. I also got the kolohe fries. I’d get them again if I remembered to order them crispy. They were very soft and it quickly turned into a potato salad. Overall, a great burger considering its located in a convenience store.

There's an increasing trend of restaurants finding their homes in gas stations (for whatever reasons I don't know). Yet despite these oddities, the food at these places tends to be outstanding. Havens is no different. We got the Paniolo smash burger and the dry noodle. The smash burger was good - it was quite large and the balance of flavours was well constructed. The dry noodle though is mind-blowing. It's hard to put into words exactly why it's so good. Likely it's a culmination of intense wok-hei (that smoky, wok-seared flavour), a garlic chili oil for the stir fry, an abundance of aromatics and impeccable preparation of each ingredient in the stir fry. The egg strips had an ethereal, bouncy texture akin to that of something between an omelette and a flan. It was so good that we got another plate for the road. And the leftovers were almost as amazing 3 hours in. Just keep in mind that they don't have the noodle dishes in their new Kahului location. If you've read this far, do yourself a favour by paying them a visit. I can assure you that you won't regret it. The dry noodle is stellar and this is up there among the best stir fry noodles from any Asian restaurant I've visited in the past.

We ended up going here twice. The first time was we had reservations for dinner and they ended up getting us an early. It was the best steak I have ever had highly recommend. They gave us a sweet card celebrating our belated honeymoon. The service was outstanding. everybody was so kind and loving the music was incredible and to watch the sunset was absolutely spectacular. We went back a few days later and had breakfast the banana macadamia nut pancakes were incredible. My husband had a burrito and said it was amazing. It looked good too, but most importantly, I loved our servers. They did such a wonderful job. I was just blown away. Here’s a few pictures of those experiences. I love this place and cannot wait to go back. Her server was absolutely extraordinary. Make sure this is one of your stops along the way it’s worth going and I will go every single time I go back.

Beautiful ocean view and some pretty good grub. Started with Calamari and Macadamia Humas. Calamari was thick sticks, with an excellent aioli. Humas included carrots zucchini and pita bread, excellent. Bacon cheese burger with avocado was chared nicely with some crunchy beer battered fries. Little woman had Maui Caesar salad with sunflower seeds, kale, mixed greens and a light dressing (a little underwhelming on the dressing flavor). Our dining guest had the fish tacos (2 in soft tortilla) & said they were excellent. Make a reservation as they are busy during peak eating times.

Good food and nice service. Its a resort style beach bar/restaurant. There was live music too so that was nice. You don't have to own or stay at the resort to park or eat here and the parking is free. The live music was pretty chill and fit the lunch beach vibe.

Nice little restaurant right off the boardwalk. The staff is super nice. We only had to wait a few minutes for our seats. The poke tacos and ahi sashimi were outstanding! They also offer a lot of nice drinks! Prices were pretty good as well. Overall, I would recommend stopping if you are walking down the boardwalk.

Great food choices for whole family. Kids tried grilled cheese, grilled chicken breast, and chicken tenders. Adults got the ranch wedge salad, seafood risotto, and fish tacos. If you are a Westin timeshare owner, you get a free slice of pie. Great ambiance and right on the beach. Reservations recommended as the wait can extend past an hour and half.

We ended up coming here twice for dinner because the food was amazing and the atmosphere was just right for us. The seafood risotto was lights out so rich and creamy with a variety of seafood. Also had the ribs and chicken plate everything tasted delicious. Finished off the night with the Hula Pia. This is a must try ice cream cake topped with chocolate and macadamia nuts. One of the top desserts on the island.

Spago is a glamorous eatery located in the Four Seasons Hotel, offering Californian-fusion cuisine and stunning vista views. The restaurant, opened in 2001, boasts an Asian-inspired contemporary design with unique stone, wood, and custom glass elements that frame spectacular views of the Maui coastline. Guests can indulge in a culinary experience featuring traditional Hawaiian flavors and locally sourced ingredients infused with Wolfgang Puck's California style and a touch of Asian influence.
We visited Spago in the four seasons Hotel and honestly the four seasons is a spectacular place to visit and just walk around. The restaurant Spago very well done excellent views everywhere, the staff very professional. The property itself is spectacular. This restaurant didn’t disappoint. We all had fish. It was great would definitely come back here in a second. The presentations of the food were something out of a movie. Cost is not something you’re gonna want to think about coming here cause nothing is cheap on the menu, but it shouldn’t be, we will be back.

What a pleasant surprise to find a spot with a separate Vegan menu! Not only having a vegan menu, but also being flexible and accommodating to make some adjustments to existing menu items. We found out that the GM is Vegan, so there was a lot of thought put into this menu and it showed all the way through from appetizers to dessert. We started with the Tostada, blackened tofu for entree, my kids did pasta and then the dark chocolate cake with coconut sorbet. It was awesome. The service from our server, Peter, was fantastic. He was very friendly, asked the kitchen questions based on our Vegan diet and knew the entire menu. I would recommend anyone looking for a fancy night out to dine here.

Tonight we enjoyed the launch of the Friday night cocktail food pairing for our anniversary. It was perfection. The service was impeccable, the food was excellent as per usual but the evening felt personal and special. Our 2 hosts (not just bartenders) created such a beautiful journey, sharing their stories and how they love food and creating cocktails. It was the added touch that most tasting menus just skip right over. They shared with us the expatiation of the food but we very much enjoyed how they created these cocktail choices and the road that led them here. Kudos Spago for a wonderful and memorable experience. What a beautiful way to celebrate our 20th! Until next time... thank you!

Four Seasons quality. The service was outstanding. We started at the bar while waiting for our table (we arrived 30 minutes early to enjoy a cocktail, totally recommended). The barman was great, and you "feel the service" right away. He explained the menu (at the bar) and prepared a few cocktails, including my favorite negroni. Then, at the table, the waitress was really nice and made good conversation. We had gnocchi (which wasn't the best, in my opinion), a really good sushi (avocado salmon), a macadamia nut-crusted fish (excellent), and a chocolate soufflé (good). The views are amazing and very romantic for enjoying the sunset.

Perfect place for sunset dinner! Service was good, the food was excellent. Ahi cones had really good texture and the flavors complimented each other. The smoked salmon pizza had a dill crème mixture that went really well with the salmon, the crust was light and crispy

Absolutely loved it. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was incredible. The servers we had were phenomenal (we had a team of two- Peter and Anthony). I really did come into the experience like “is this the 20th century? Spago? 🤨?” I was a bit hasty in my judgment. Great job 👏. We will be back
James A — Google review
The ambience was palatial and views stunning, the service was professional and knowledgeable, and the cocktails (alcoholic and NA) were delicious and creative (the wine list was impressive too with some good value as well as rarities). The food, on the other hand, was hit and miss. The gazpacho and tomato soups were truly amazing, and the chicken main was very homey and deeply satisfying (a la grandma’s cooking). The scallops and pork shank mains not so much. The pork shank was curiously tough and not particularly flavorful. The accompanying polenta and corn didn’t really do much for the dish. The “Hong Kong” scallops were ok, but nothing special. The vegetables they came with were a little overcooked and the whole dish looked and tasted soggy and the sauce watered down. For this class of establishment and price point we expected better - flawless execution start to finish. I would recommend this restaurant, but advise you choose your mains carefully. Bonus points for a sizable and reasonably priced kids menu. However, it did take them 30 minutes to seat us despite us having a reservation and checking in just before our reservation time.

This place is absolutely fantastic. They have such a great selection of natural foods. It’s very fairly priced and lower than in town. The only thing I saw more expensive was the pineapple was cheaper at Whole Foods super vegan friendly so many baked goods. I wish I could shop here all the time.

Every time I visit Paia, I make a point to stop by Mana Foods. They have the best selection of holistic foods. I can always trust the products they carry are natural. The pricing is fair considering what other health foods stores charge these days. The coffee bar at the front to has great drinks.

The store has a cozy, welcoming vibe that sets it apart from larger chains, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for Maui. Their bakery and deli section is a real treat, offering fresh, delicious options. However, parking can be challenging, so plan accordingly. Despite this, Mana Foods has quickly become a favorite for its snacks, drinks and dedication to quality, making it a must-visit for both locals and visitors seeking healthy, flavorful groceries.

Bakery
Komoda Store and Bakery is a beloved Maui institution that has been serving up delectable pastries since 1916. Owned by Betty and Calvin Shibuya, this charming mom-and-pop shop in Makawao is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. The bakery offers an array of traditional treats, including cream puffs, malasadas, and their famous 'stick donuts' - doughnut balls served on sticks like sweet kebabs.
Pretty much if they are open I'm stopping for some malasadas for the road. I'm partial to the guava, also like the vanilla cream and the turnovers. Lots of nearby parks, beaches, scenic drives and road trips nearby, so basically lots of reasons to buy a bag of malasadas. Also sold individually. $10 minimum for card pay.
Lisa M — Google review
Desserts aren't my forte, so I'm not one to get excited by bakeries and confectionaries. Put an ice cream shop in front of me and we have a different story. So why am I reviewing the infamous bakery of Makawao and a popular island wide establishment? Because cupcakes hold a strong second place in my heart. Read on... Whenever I'm eating something from Komoda's, its because someone brought them to work or a party. I will not make a special trip up to Makawao to buy sweets. But after what I recently tried this past Halloween at a friend's house, I honestly would make the drive up. ATMOSPHERE: I've been inside maybe twice, over a decade ago, so I can't comment on the inside digs, but the outside is just what a mom & pop place looks like: Plain, simple, and looks at home in a western movie. DESSERTS: Chantilly Cupcakes I had no idea that chantilly was a local recipe until I Googled it. The specifics are that its a German chocolate cake without coconut. Great for me because I'm not a huge coconut fan. So what does it taste like? The chocolate cupcakes are super moist and just melts in your mouth. The inside is filled with a small amount of the cream that makes a chantilly cake, a true chantilly cake. The flavor is similar to caramel, a bit sweet and a bit salty, and really damn good. The cupcake is topped with the same cream and a maraschino cherry. Wow. This cupcake guy is a total fan. This would definitely kick some Cupcake War ass! Cream Puffs Meh, I've never been a fan of these. I don't care for the texture of the cream puff which reminds me of stale bread, or the flavor of the cream which has a chemical-like taste. Pass. Butter Rolls Four Sisters Bakery does the best job at these because they put an obscene amount of butter in theirs. Here, they go light on the artery clogging. The trick is to zap them for 20 seconds in the micro to soften up the dough and warm the butter. Delish! French Apple Pie A co-worker ordered a whole pie because she absolutely loves it. The slice I tried was absolutely delish! The crust was flaky with that great homemade baked taste, the filling was full of chunky apples and not overly sweet, and the whole thing is topped with a mixture of crumbled crust and possibly a dusting of sugar crystals which gave it a slight crunch. Yowza! This guy may be turning into a dessert lover... OVERALL: Must try cupcakes for the cupcake fan.

A must-visit spot when you're in or passing through Kula. They serve traditional pastries with a exquisite and unique flavor. The PUFF CREAM PASTRY and the MALASADAS are their signature items. The service isn't the most friendly, but the food is absolutely worth it, 100% recommended.
Victor V — Google review
It’s been 30 years since I last had a cream puff. And it’s still incredibly delicious. Simple and no frills historic bakery. No secret or complicated menu. Local spot that’s been crushing it for over 100 years. What they have is the best on the island. Get there early because things sell out. Must stop for anyone.
R- S — Google review
Oh, Komoda — the heart of Makawao mornings and the soul of sweet memories. The stick donuts and malasada sticks reign supreme — golden, pillowy perfection with just the right kiss of sugar. Then come the Long Johns, stuffed with silky vanilla custard, a simple joy that feels like childhood wrapped in parchment paper. And those cream puffs — clouds of happiness filled with vanilla dreamlight. The Cocoa Puffs bring a chocolatey comfort that lingers long after the last bite. How I miss the malasadas bursting with guava jam, each one a tiny portal to paradise. Don’t even get me started on their heavenly butter rolls, cinnamon snails, jelly donuts, turnovers, and Danishes — each one crafted with that old-Hawaiʻi soul that can’t be replicated. Komoda’s isn’t just a bakery — it’s a tradition, a taste of aloha that lives on in every crumb.

Desserts: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: Worth a go for some good sweet treats. Gotta get there early! The extended review... Desserts: Peach Pear Turnover - 3/5 - Not a bad turnover. Pretty standard fare. I would have enjoyed it being a little bit more crispy. Donut Sticks - 4/5 - One of the staples of the store and a must have. It's definitely a very fresh donut, nice and and chewy and perfectly glazed. Cream Puffs - 5/5 - OMG. You must get these. The filling is amazingly rich and tasty. We bought a dozen and I could not stop eating them. Service: 4/5 - Friendly service. Ambiance: 3/5 - Slightly run down on the inside and more of a grab and go place since there isn't anywhere to eat.

Great find! My 9 year old said it was the best food of our trip and asked to come back before we leave. Good variety on the kids menu. Pretzel bites were bomb. The Grilled Cheese was hearty. You’re never a stranger once! Stumbled upon this awesome place on accident after a disappointing visit to another reservation and we were hooked the first night! Dominic is awesome! As fellow bartenders who have quite a bit of experience in this industry, we were very impressed! We also loved the sesame crusted tuna, all of their food was delicious. Mahalo for the amazing hospitality!!

ATMOSPHERE: P&C is located in the Shops At Wailea in a former sushi restaurant. The look is city eatery; a long dining room with high ceilings, big bar, regular tables & high tops, a second level loft with additional seating or for private parties, and a few outdoor seats in the back of the restaurant but with no view. PARKING: Free. MENU: Craft cocktails, Maui Brewing Company beer, salads, American apps, burgers, sliders, sandwiches, chicken/pork/meat/seafood entrees. FOOD: Garlic Parmesan Fries The hand-cut fries were thin like potato sticks, piled high and dusted with finely shaved parmesan, lots of minced garlic and parsley. It was big enough for the four of us to share. Great flavor. Deviled Eggs The presentation looked a little messy on the plate but tasted really good as they did a twist to the traditional recipe with the addition of a bearnaise sauce poured over the four halves. A little parmesan cheese and bacon bits finished the dish with fresh spinach to the side. Fried Chicken Wings I'll never understand why chicken wings are so pricey. Here, you get 7 wingettes and drummettes for a whopping $22. Was it worth the price? Yes, only because of the amazing flavor! Despite the description stating vinegar, my part Filipino friends insisted they could taste patis (fish sauce). Turns out they were right as we chatted with the chef towards the end of the night. It was a bit spicy, about a 3 on a 5 heat scale, but so delish. Highly recommended for the wing fan. SERVICE: It's a seat yourself kind of place, so I don't think reservations are taken. We were greeted by several staff members as we walked in, and scored a high top table at 7pm on a Friday night. We were given menus within 5 minutes, with our server appearing soon after. She was pretty much on top of everything, knowledgeable, and did a good job checking on us. OVERALL: Small but nice menu, great flavors, nice ambiance. A definite return.

Near the end of our little getaway I was feeling an itch for a pint of Guinness. Didn’t think a brilliant pint was going to be found in Maui but I did a little search anyway and found The Pint & Cork on a Guinness forum. So happy I came in for a visit. The pint was truly wonderful, really well poured for American standard. Really smooth, not overly cold, near 0 bitter factor. Yum yum. Aside from the pints the people here really make this place shine. Our bartender was Dominic, he was absolutely lovely to talk to, wish I had more time, would’ve been awesome to have an even longer chat. He introduced us to Preston whom grew up near where we currently live and that was a true mind blowing moment. This world is much smaller than we anticipate hahaha. My wife has never liked the idea of sitting at the bar but Dominic helped changer her perspective on that with such great service and chat. We shared a burger as well, very tasty but was an after thought compared to the service and pints. Planning to make a few more visits during our next visit. Cheers!

Came in for a late afternoon dessert and drinks. Desserts were delicious. Drinks as well. Did have deviled eggs and those were interesting, in a very good way. Caught a photo of the last one ;-)

Having tried all the Mai Tais in the neighbourhood, this place has the best (who would expect that of an Irish theme pub?). If you like Mai Tais made in the Trader Vic style, you'll like their take on it. The people complaining here about the Mai Tais are probably the people who put pineapple juice and Malibu Rum in theirs like at the nearby hotels (make it how you like it, thats fine, there are no laws on this). But these are more true to the Trader Vic style, and they are a great take on it.

This place was great! It was super simple and the food was really good! We went for happy hour and the happy hour menu was perfect! We had the cheeseburger sliders, the Mac and cheese, garlic parm fries, and deviled eggs. I would order everything again! Our waitress was so nice, the drinks hit the spot, and the atmosphere was very lowkey! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

La Provence is a charming spot in Maui that offers a delightful culinary experience. From indulging in lemon-cream crepes and breve lattes for breakfast to savoring French pastries like buttery croissants and fruit tarts, this place is a haven for food enthusiasts. The outdoor setup adds to the ambiance, making it an ideal location for enjoying bistro classics during dinner.
Would love it if the crêpes had fresh fruit too. The eggs Benedict was still delicious, eggs poached well. Need more hollandaise. Beautiful atmosphere!

The very very slow service was all forgiven by the most delicious food. Chicken with garlic confit and mushroom sauce and the veggie crepe entrees were super delicious and well executed. The chicken was served in shreds and was succulent, moist and tasty. The crepe looked like a dark flour was used, and was hot and a tiny bit crispy. However, the most epic thing I ate there was the chocolate mousse. Hands down, one of the best, if not the best, mousess I've ever had! All in all, it was a most delicious meal! I have a definite yearn to return to La Provence in Kula.

Pastries were good but the cashier was not friendly at all. It’s all bad energy. You can tell she doesn’t want to be there. I spent $53 for 8 pastries so I asked her to put it in the box, she did but she charged me $5 for the box. After spending $53 for the pastries I didn’t feel like paying $5 for the box. I guess it’s okay if they tell you or at least “BE NICE, BE FRIENDLY, BE CONSIDERATE to the customers or at least smile and say thank you. Last thing, I regret TIPPING her.

On my first visit to this little bakery I wanted to try everything!! My bf and I thoroughly enjoyed a gorgeously crafted croissant and a perfectly baked mango scone. This place is a gem and they sell out early! Sweet and savory pastries as well as bread. Chill vibe, lovely folks, and of course a beautiful location. Keep them in business!!

we planned to have breakfast here on saturday morning but we reached too early. they start serving breakfast at 10 am so we have the pastries. the cheese pie is amazing. it is soft and the cheese melt in the mouth. the sweet bakery is good but too sweet for my indonesian tongue. their guava juice is must try.

We are locals that decided to stop in at la Provence for breakfast /early lunch. My peach almond pastry was hard to cut even using a knife. Maybe old? Idk, but the coffee was good. The woman at the counter was rather demonstrative of what the French call Ennui / Boredom or perhaps tired & in need of her own Java Jolt. Overall I’d say missable. Oh but the outdoor seating was nice:)

Genuine French food prepared by a perfectionist genuine French chef. Sunday Breakfast outside overlooking South Central Maui with a view of the Pacific Ocean and Mauna Kahalawai (West Maui mountains.) The best eggs Benedict I have had. The savory crepes were also excellent. Family run, small restaurant. I would highly recommend.
