We went to Auntie Skinner’s about 2 pm on a Thursday. I had a hand breaded Chicken Fried Steak with White Gravy, sautéed Cabbage, side salad, and Texas Toast. Absolutely amazing!!! My husband had Chicken Fried Chicken and White Gravy, real mashed potatoes, fried okra, and Texas Toast. Scrumptious. Great food and service was fine. On the downside, this is a bar. This time a man came to the bar near us and started smoking. Negative on Atmosphere because of that. Handicapped access is not there as far as we could see and restrooms are up a few stairs which are difficult if mobility is a problem, no handicapped bathroom access or rails. Previous times there are bands, loud music, and smoking. How about No smoking until evening???? There were seven or eight kids eating when the man came in and started smoking.

There were just two people in our party so instead of taking up a 4 or 6 person table we opted to sit at the bar. We were told to sit anywhere we liked when we arrived. We sat at the bar for 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. When a waitress finally came to us she asked if we needed menus and took our drink order. We said yes to the menus and she gave them to us. After 10 minutes the bartender asked if we wanted another drink (we ordered drinks from the bar). We said yes and asked for the ticket as the waitress who took or drink order and handed us the menus never came back to ask us what we wanted to eat. It was not overly busy at 130pm so I am not sure the reason we had such poor service. Our drinks were good though.

Sorry, they have a lot of issues when it comes to service. Do not go for food! Due to circumstances, we had to stop here. The food did not come out for more than an hour. The menu is an easy "fast food" setup. The manager can be observed standing around If you just want to drink, okay. Everything about this place is centered on just dining beers. Continuing east now. Enjoy the moments.

Enjoyed it, great atmosphere, good service, my chicken quesadillas were great, wife said steak was so so but she liked the bread pudding and I the ice crème! And btw the whole town is much quieter on mondays.

Food was pretty good. But I can't believe they allow smoking all over. We ate lunch late around 3 so there were a few people inside. No one was smoking. Until a man came in sit close to us and lite up. At the same time a family walk in and realized smoking was allow, so they left. We had already order. We did move tables and it did help. We will mark this one off our list.

We both got the ribeye steak which was reasonably priced, the steak was cooked perfect but had no seasoning on it at all! I ordered loaded potatoes with mine and received regular potatoes, told the waiter and he fixed the issue but charged me extra for them. My girlfriend had Mac and cheese for her side and it was apparently out of a box and had shredded cheese melted on it, also the steamed vegetables was a bowl of cabbage that wasn’t cooked thoroughly (still crunchy) with bacon bits sprinkled on it. This place used to be a great place to eat, not sure what has changed in the kitchen but we 10/10 don’t recommend eating there!

Service wasn't bad. The food and the time it took to get it was bad. Cooked to order doesn't take 30 to 45 min with 20 or so people waiting. The bar should be stocked better. The mushrooms where frozen, they put powder parm cheese on a salad. The burger wasn't bad but, 45 minutes to get it was. I'll probably not be back.

This place completely changed the game for bread before the main course. No one else will ever come close. The bread was AMAZING! I had the pecan encrusted salmon, and it was absolutely delicious. My wife had the rooster skin, and she loved it. Our only regret was that we were too full to get desert, and the bread pudding also looked wonderful. We'll have to go back!

Oh. My. Word. The locals recommended we try the Austin Street Bistro and I’m glad we listened. When we first arrived, who I assume was the owner asked us to come back in 10-15 minutes so her crew could take a needed break - that type of leadership impressed me. She risked losing paying customers to prioritize her team. Wow. Now on to the food. We had the Asian chicken salad - incredible - and corned beef sandwich- also amazing. Their special bread is dessert like and they even served little oatmeal cookies for post dinner. The atmosphere is comfortable and very authentically “bistro”. Everyone was kind and the food was amazing. This is a MUSTY place - I must return again!

This was quite simply one of the best meals I have ever had. Absolutely everything about it was fantastic. The setting is a small, eclectic little bistro, reminiscent of Paris. The purple linen tablecloths and live plants surrounding us at the front windows overlooking downtown Jefferson was a perfect setting for our last night of vacation. We began with bread and salad. Not ordinary bread and salad. The bread was a delicious hearty rye type with what seems like honey and vanilla, or perhaps maple, soaked into it and served warm. The salad was not an iceberg lettuce house salad. This was dark greens With tomatoes and vegetables, finally chopped into an amazing vinaigrette. My wife and I both chose the pecan crusted, salmon, and it was amazing. The topping was like nothing I’ve ever had before. The rice was delicious and moist. The salmon itself was perfectly cooked, firm, and perfect. We were full, so we passed on dessert. I did ask for one more piece of that wonderful bread we had started with because I just loved it that much. When the check came, we were provided to delightful little almond cookies. This will not be the cheapest meal you find, but I promise you the experience and the food is worth every penny and more. Don’t miss this gem.

We came in late afraid we'd be turned away but we weren't and we had an amazing intimate experience. Our dishes were delicious and flavorful. The staff was friendly and prompt with a visit from the chef herself!

Worst service. Worst Chef. I am a vegan. I was informed that it would piss off the chef if she had to accommodate dietary needs. Which also included putting a marinara sauce on the side for my 90 year old father. This made our server mad. Would not recommend. This is the dinner salad I was offered. Bottom of the bag. Needless to say I did not eat it. Meat loaf was mush. The meal was awful.

Amazing service and food! Wandered in after wandering Jefferson. Smelled amazing when we entered! All sauces are gluten free, but no gluten free pasta. I had the salmon and hubs had the pork. Bothered amazing! The flavors!!! The salmon was covered in pesto and pecans on a bed of jasmine e rice. Unbelievable!!! Hubs had the pork chop on grits. Nott a huge pork fan myself but this was Unbelievable!!!! Melt in your mouth pork witha red wine mushroom reduction. Kara took great care of us and dis NOT lead me astray with the salmon rec! We will definitely be back!

I have been to this location before and left a 5 star review, but my experience today unfortunately negated that. We were seated and told she would be right with us after she cleaned off the table behind us. However, once she did that, she was cleaning the bar and doing other chores as well. When she walked by again, we asked if we could go ahead and order because we had a tour coming up. She interrupted before we could say it’s in an hour and a half, and she said “well that’s a problem because this isn’t fast food.” She was openly hostile before we could even tell her our time frame. She told us she was the waitress and the cook, which would have been completely understandable if she hadn’t gotten so ugly with us. So we said we were leaving and I pulled out some cash to pay for our iced teas, and she reached over my body and snatched out glasses up and said “I don’t need your money.” Really all she had to say is, hey we are short handed and I’m the only person here so it’s going to be about 45 minutes before your food comes out. We still would have had to leave, but we could have paid for our drinks AND tipped and that would be that. It seemed like she was having a crappy day and snapped before we could even explain anything. She was also very loud in the very small restaurant, so it was very embarrassing. There was a better way to handle this situation, an we would have come back tomorrow for lunch because we really liked their food in the past. But I won’t subject myself to that kind of situation again. I hope her day gets better.

Our first and last visit to this place. The Server seemed like she was the only one working tables because she was all over…. The food not so good… The beans and rice were cold the meat was just ok the salsa that came to the table tasted like it was fresh from a tin can. Bland and flavorless food… Yes we said something to the server and yes she said Sorry but that was it. Yes we paid for the food no we didn’t want free food but we wanted hot food. A total waste of 40.00

I don't usually write negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience to inform others. This restaurant may have once been a great spot with good food, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case in 2024. My friend ordered enchiladas and specifically asked for kind with cilantro sauce. Instead, she received a flavorless red tomato sauce. Additionally, the avocado tasted old. As shown in my photo, I ordered nachos and was quite surprised to receive only six chips with cold, hard cheese on top. My friend ended up sharing some of her chips with me. Charging $9 for six chips is unreasonable. It seems the restaurant could benefit from improving their food quality. I wouldn't be surprised if some items are precooked. I pray that they improve because I want good businesses to thrive but you must do better to make it happen.

I am visiting Jefferson tx and have never been there I did some shopping and walked around and got hungry and went to this Mexican restaurant and friendly staff the food was great and the margarita was on point I just had one but I could've had another one lol. Had a great time in Jefferson.

The food is not great. It was OK. Standard stuff. Overpriced for this level of quality. Taco Bell makes better tacos. They added 18% gratuity because there were 6 at our table even though it was a split tab. Then added another fee because I used a credit card. They give you the receipt to sign and it has TIP open as if it was not already included, so some people might actually double tip. The food was just really bland. Might want to dump hot sauce on everything. Service was fine - friendly and very attentive. Food came out pretty quick. Not horrible - it could just be so much better.

First off, the service was on point! But Buyer Beware! $11.99 for the "large" margarita, does not mean extra alcohol. My blended margarita stayed frozen for over a half hour. I doubt there was even 1.5 oz in the pour (typically the amount that's poured into a normal mixed drink). We were also charged $6 for children's drinks (not included in their meals), an 18% gratuity on split tabs, and an additional credit card fee. And they still asked for a tip after the fact. Not only providing a line for said tip but several options for different percentages. We were very shocked when we received our bill. Deceiving customers like that is just bad business practice.

Definitely check this place out n tip well. Here is a person whose been there before many times in the past but had such a great lunch had to 5 star and share. I had lunch 14 double rice.

Such a welcoming staff and great local place for the family to go for pizza. I can't say enough about this family-owned, locally-owned establishment. It's a historical part of the community. Very cool place and a great drive! We'll definitely be back! 10 out of 10!!

A rainy evening led us to this restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted and instructed to get our own drinks and sit where we would like! Options of a handful of boths and tables set up with menus and a fork in a square dining area. Located on three walls are flat screens showing various news stations all without sound. Once seated with our drinks, someone came to inquire about our order. I chose eggplant parm. and my husband a personal meat lovers pizza. The meals were served hot, but that is the only service you have. Need refills, togo boxes, or anything you get it yourself. While the establishment was clean and quiet, they charge a sur charge for paying with a card. No bill is brought to your table. You settle up at the widow near the entrance/exit. Might return for pizza togo.

Very good crust. Little sugar added. Can sub Alfredo or garlic sauce for red.

My wife and I each had a calzone and they were delicious! Very fairly priced and you get 3 toppings inside which they put plenty of each. Very friendly and casual family run restaurant. The current owner bought the place in July 2025 and is doing a great job. He came and asked us to help sample a new brownie dessert they are wanting to add to the menu and it was great! Very nice family who runs the place and we were thankful we stopped in!

We dined in and ordered the Bulldog Combo with the original crust. This is a good pizza! Kinda light on the sauce so if you want it saucy then order it with a little extra or ask for sauce to dip with. Otherwise, worth the price. The staff is friendly and professional. They have a drive-up window to pick up your order or you can come in to pick up your order. Highly recommended.

The Jefferson are is having a shortage of workers. We talked to several people that stated that there was a lack of people that could work in service. Bulldog pizza has a good pizza but the service was slow. They were very busy but the lack of staff was evident. Overall a good place.

We had a group of 9 at 5 pm. We went meet new owner and brand new waitress. So excited about new owners and the food was beyond awesome. Service was phenomenal. We are going back 2nd saturday in September at 4. We are moving to area and would love to meet you there. Excited about the new move. Please go eat and support them. Can't say enough good about them.

As we walked into the restaurant it had a cheerful appeal and Christmas spirit. We were greeted and seated quickly. The menu was easy to read and didn't have six pages of stuff. Don't you hate menus that have six to eight pages worth of small type? We were told the chicken fried steak was amazing and that's what we had our hearts set on. We figured the cornbread muffins were worth a try but at $4 for two muffins, I was pretty disappointed. The house salad was too small and cheap looking (see pictures). The chicken fried steak did not disappoint. We were shocked to be told that they ran out of mashed potatoes and green beans. But somehow they found some last of the mashed potatoes and gave us one helping. The seasoned vegetables were amazing! (See pictures) The food was hot as expected and I had to cool it off. Awesome!! I was tempted to get some bread pudding with cranberries but I didn't have any room left. Definitely worth coming to eat but do it on a weekday before they run out of food.

The waiter was very friendly. The food still tastes good. We've been here several times over the past few years. Unfortunately, the portions are getting smaller and smaller. The bean pot was empty today. The toilet overflowed. To the owner: Please don't let this wonderful place go to ruin.

Holy smokes, if you don’t get the onion rings here you don’t know what you’re missing. Had the country fried steak sandwich, too. This was LEGIT THE BEST I’ve ever had anywhere in a very long time.

Visiting at the lake near by and drove into town for the sites and lunch. After looking at the menu of two restaurants we walked to Taste of Caddo. We loved it! The grilled shrimp was delicious. The fries were perfect. The white fish the best fish fillets ever tasted. The chicken fried steak was wonderful. The owner, Jeanette waited on us and she was helpful, friendly and fun. Thanks!

Monday night dinner at the Haywood House was an absolute delight. We arrived at 5 PM and were seated right away, greeted by a warm and friendly staff who made everyone feel at home. Our server was a standout—helpful, knowledgeable, and full of great recommendations, all delivered with a fantastic personality. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with a dark, antique dining vibe that transported us back in time. The extensive drink menu and creative dishes were a highlight. We kicked things off with The Gilligan and Skipper cocktails—both excellent—paired with the Fried Queso appetizer drizzled with an unexpected but delicious blueberry sauce. The salads, dressed with homemade blue cheese and ranch, were spot-on. For entrees, the chicken parmigiana was massive, hearty, and bursting with flavor, while the Salisbury steak came with potatoes, a zesty jalapeño gravy, crispy fried onion tangles, and perfectly cooked green beans, all complemented by flawless toasted bread. We also tried Cheddar Chaffles for the first time—crisp, cheesy waffles that were an absolute revelation. I ventured into two more drinks: the fiery Devil Went Down to Georgia and the Spicy Martini—both delicious, though a heads-up for those who shy away from heat. We skipped dessert in-house but couldn’t resist taking home their Monday-special fried PB&J sandwich, which looks and smells incredible—we can’t wait to dig in. Haywood House is a home style Texan bar & grill with fantastic food, and friendly faces. The decor brings you right back to a simpler time without all the distractions of modern conveniences, but with an absolutely calming atmosphere. Overall, this was a fantastic spot for our 4th of July evening in Jefferson. I had the Big Daddy Bourbon BBQ Bacon Burger, and it was perfect. I honestly couldn't have made it better myself, it was sweet, but not too sweet. I was full by the time that burger was gone. The fries were lightly Cajun seasoned, and were way better than Five Guys or In-n-Out. My entire party said their food was very good. Just after we arrived live music began, and it complimented the place quite nicely. It was at just the perfect volume. Not too loud, and not too soft. The tables, chairs and dressings were very tastefully arranged. I knew we were in for a treat when I looked at the menu. They have many options from steaks, burgers & hot dogs, to seafood, soups, salads, and more. Overall, I'm convinced that if you come here and have a bad time, it probably won't be the restaurant's fault. Happy 249th America! Happy dining at Haywood House!

I recently had a fantastic dining experience that I can't wait to share! The food was absolutely wonderful, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The building itself, along with the atmosphere, created a comfortable and unique setting that made the evening even more enjoyable. The service was top-notch; the staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed. To top it all off, the singer provided the perfect soundtrack for our meal, enhancing the overall ambiance. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

My wife and I came here for our 6th year anniversary. This is our 1st time coming here. The food was very good. We enjoyed talking to the owners upstairs in the smoking lounge. Can't wait to come back.

We ate Sunday lunch here and, wow, it was amazing. The food was very tasty and the portions were great! The building has a ton of decor and history throughout. It is definitely worth walking around and seeing everything while waiting for your food. The service was great! Our server was so friendly and helpful, she also knew a lot about the building and decor. Our favorite part was Payton Pierce!!! He was there performing and man, he is awesome! He is by far the best live performance we have seen! I would 10000% recommend coming on a day/time that he is playing!

This place is amazing, service is superb and the cigar lounge on the third floor is amazing with beautiful leather furniture and a great patio for cigarette smokers. Our server was beyond any expectations. It's a little on the more expensive side but not for what you get. They have a large variety of food for any taste and I promise you will be impressed by the quality. I recommend you go here if your ever in the area.

Went to the Haywood House Restaurant for our anniversary. Food was amazing and the service wa good. We enjoyed our so much we made reservations for another evening.

This is a small business with a big heart. You can get a home cooked meal or a burger. She gives generious portions and its very taste. Prices are very reasonable.

I think we may have driven by but hard to say if an old shack was Lil Mama's. Didn't appear to be open at 1:00 on Saturday. Went to Irish Pub instead which was wonderful. One star because I had to give something.

The burgers today were amazing! I'm so glad Lil Mama's is open and back to full capacity. Ordering the special is always the quickest and calling ahead helps.

The best Cheeseburger I have ever had! They have daily specials. Can't wait to go back and try something else. They are very friendly, sweet ladies!

Kitt’s was an utterly delightful gem—charming, welcoming, and an absolute joy to dine at. The staff was warm and friendly, and the service was flawless, even with how bustling the place was. And the food? Simply incredible. It’s a cozy, small spot, so there was a short wait, but trust me—it’s worth it. Don’t let a crowd at the door deter you; the turnover is quick. We ordered two cornbread club sandwiches served on jalapeño cornbread, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a sandwich quite like it. I’m a sandwich enthusiast, but this was a revelation—sinfully delicious. Paired with their homemade dumplings, it was a match made in heaven. Kitt’s is famous for its pies, so we couldn’t resist trying the double chocolate pie and the frozen peanut butter pie. Both were fantastic, with crusts that were pure perfection. We’re already planning our return, eager to explore more of the menu, though that cornbread club has definitely stolen our hearts.

Finally after so many years and several tries we are here at this fabulous restaurant. We have heard about it all the way to Tyler Gilmer. It's very clean and linit d sitting though so if you plan coming over to have the famous cornbread then come early. The food was super delicious, good taste, color and consistency. Well cooked and it makes you eat more. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone out there. Oh by the way the pies were super delicious.

Kitt's Kornbread Sandwich shop was amazing! I've never heard of a kornbread sandwich. I certainly didn't know I wanted one until we were passing through the area and saw their great reviews. Now, I know why! I had "The Club" on Jalapeño cornbread, and it was so much better than I could have ever imagined. If you're passing through Jefferson, TX. I highly encourage you to stop into this small town gem!

Just stopped here for lunch while on a weekend trip to Jefferson. So glad we found this absolute jewel. The chili: AMAZING. The chicken and dumplings: I HAVE NO WORDS. This is the REAL deal… the old school are you sure my Mamaw ain’t back there in the kitchen kind of chicken and dumplings. The jalapeño cornbread, a hundred stars. This lunch filled my stomach and my soul. (Also- lovely staff and we loved the nice oldie tunes floating in the air. My experience at Kitt's Kornbread was absolutely a horrible and embarrassing experience. My friend and I were visiting Jefferson, Texas for a weekend event on April 4-6, 2025. Jefferson, Texas is my favorite places to visit, and I wanted my friend, who had never been there, to experience the beautiful town and friendly people who live there. I told her about the wonderful cornbread sandwiches at Kitt's Kornbread's Diner, and she was excited to try it. This incident occurred on Sunday, our last day in Jefferson. We were meeting 10 of our good friends who were already seated at a large table with two chairs for us to join them. Some of them already had their food and the others had just ordered drinks and pie. When sat down at the table to join them, a rude waitress named Danielle told us we could not sit with them. We told her we were with their party. She ignored us. We sat down with them any way. This waitress continued to ignore us and not take our order. When I saw her standing behind the counter, I waved my hand at her to get her attention. She looked at me and shouted, " As long as you are seated at that table, I will not take your order!' She shouted this across the room where all the other diners could her hear what she shouted at us. I was so embarrassed and devastated by her brusk tone and rudeness. My friend could not believe how rude and hateful she was to us. Our friends who were with us suggested that we move since this bossy, rude, and mean waitress refused to serve us. We finally move to a booth in ordered to be served. This waitress, Danielle, needs help with her PR skills and needs to learn how to speak kindly to customers. We also observed how she spoke to other customers and the other employees in tge same bossy and commanding voice as well. She acts like she owns the place and has a very controlling personality. She is extremely bad for business, and we don't look forward to going back. My friend said she had never been treated so rudely by anyone like this waitress. I have always loved Kitt Kornbbread, and it was always on the top of my list of places to dine at in Jefferson, Texas. I'm not so sure now. I gave the food 4 stars! The rest are 1 stars because of this horrible waitress whose name in Danielle.

Good cornbread sandwich but tiny for the price. Butter milk pie is ok. It's more eggy and not smooth tasting as what I'm use to. To go order took a long time.

Outstanding! The food and pies are so very delicious. We had a little wait as they were very busy. It was well worth it. Also, you will not find a nicer group of waitresses. They go above and beyond. I loved everything about the place. Wish I lived closer.

I was nearby and a local couple suggested I needed to try Riverport Barbecue before leaving the area. I always listen to the locals and I am glad I did! This place looks fun from the outside and a bit dicey on the inside, but the line told me I was in the right place. It was almost back to the door when I walked in, but it moved quickly. Seating is pretty limited, especially for a party of one or two as most tables have 5-6 places. Everybody was so friendly. I think I could’ve asked to sit down if I wanted to, but I went ahead and got my order to go. The menu seems pretty reasonable with baskets and platters between $10 and $18. A lot of reviews seem to talk about the Swamp Fries, so I had to get a small order of those. I also got the sliced Brisket sandwich with a side of onion rings. The brisket barbecue is served dry but has a good smoke right on it and good flavor by itself, but they give you plenty of barbecue sauce to add to it. That’s exactly what I did along with some pickles to make my sandwich taste just right . The Swamp Fries are wonderful with fresh FF, smothered in chopped brisket, shredded cheese, and sliced jalapeños. There’s no way I could’ve eaten a large so I’m glad even though it was just two dollars more I decided to opt for the smaller portion and still had leftovers to take home. Overall, really good food definitely worth a stop in.

This place is awesome! Great food. I ordered the 3 meat plate. It was so delicious. The brisket, pulled pork and ribs specifically. It had a nice, tender, smoky taste. I highly recommend it if you’re in town. Don’t miss it!

Went for a weekend family quick trip. We stopped in for a late lunch, though there was a line the wait was worth it! Food was delicious. Swap fries, bbq stuffed potato & chili dog. Kid friendly option.

omg this is the VERY BEST HANDS DOWN barbecue i have ever tasted if u are in the area u have to try it my hubby got the 2 meat plate ribs brisket ingot the brisket taco and the swamp fries 🍟 which are brisket fries I recommend both u will not regret it we both ate for about 35 bucks

Great food! The BBQ was awesome. Sometimes you need sauce but with this meat you don't. It had a great flavor. We will be back!

This place was really cute. It was decorated for Christmas but seemed cluttered. The cheese curds and fries were amazing. The Brussels sprouts I feel would have been better cut in have and crisped a little. We split the burger and it was good. I felt it was a bit pricey. The restaurant seemed cluttered there were things that should have been out of site for customers. Maybe lack of storage? The stuff out of place affected the atmosphere for me as it was distracting. Dirty dishes all over the bar, a ladder at the front door, stuff lined the hall going to bathroom, etc…

Loved the atmosphere here, cool building and interior, came for lunch. The items hanging all need to be dusted badly. Food was decent, but I felt my fish and chips could have been a little better for what the charge was. Great town nearby to visit also.

McGarity's will be noted as one of my least favorite restaurants I have visited. The only food order that was decent was the Irish Nachos. The Country Fried Steaks was tough, had no flavor, had too much batter and looked burnt. The presentation of the plate was pretty pathetic. The chicken salad was runny. I have never tasted chicken salad like it before. I order chicken salad very often as it is one of my favorite items on a menu. Thumbs down on the onion rings. They were cold and tasted old. The service and atmosphere were good.

Great restaurant, I love the decorations hanging from the roof. The service was good, you get refills on chips and some drinks also have refills. One of my favorite things is that every table has either a triangle iq game or a set of dominoes. The food was good, and I personally got the crab cakes and the bacon brussel sprouts. I liked it, I didn't like the sauce much but that's just me I know that it's something other people would like. The bacon brussel sprouts were delicious. I had a root beer, which unfortunately did not do refills, but some of the other sodas did.

Move on by McGarity’s Saloon While in Jefferson during the middle of the week, we visited all of downtown and decided to stick around and have lunch. The reviews seemed good for this place, so, we decided to give it a try. We arrived shortly after noon and there were quite a few people in the restaurant. However, there were a couple of two-tops and two four-top tables available. Seating at the bar was empty. There was one couple already in the restaurant waiting to be seated. A server from behind the bar area acknowledged us an told us it would be just a moment to be seated. We waited, along with the other couple for ten or fifteen minutes with the vacant tables still available with no further contact by any of the staff. The first couple decided to leave. We waited another ten to fifteen minutes before someone finally decided to come out to us and seat us. Our server assigned to our table took our orders - chicken fried steak dinner and hamburger with fries dinner - fairly quickly and then brought us a small basked of chips. I also ordered a side salad, which was brought out quickly and was fresh and tasty. However, it went downhill from there. We waited forever for them to bring our main entrees. When they finally arrived, the only thing that was hot and tasty was the mashed potatoes on my plate. The chicken fried steak was pretty hot, although it had been nearly burnt to a crisp. The meat was tasteless, and the batter had a burnt taste. The hamburger was cold and tasteless. The bun was dry and very hard. The onion rings were basically room temperature and were just OK. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but, overall, it definitely was not what we expected and definitely worth the price paid.

I am always excited to find a restaurant with a good beer list. I had an amazing Belgian Tripel and a really good Reuben. The live music was fun and not too loud which was a huge plus as we had a baby with us. The musician was really entertaining and did a great job. We will definitely be going back. The spicy cheese curds were amazing.

The ambiance is great! Cozy, intimate, live music. The shrimp and grits was great! Served with a fried green tomato slice on top, on top of a pool of marinara sauce (which I personally didn’t like and scraped off) with jumbo shrimp. I was able to eat on this for a couple of meals the serving portion was big. I ordered their Hurricane drink…was extremely disappointed. It is no Pat O’Brien’s by far. The wait staff we nice, friendly and attentive.

We stopped here for a late lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon and had a Greek salad and a veggie pizza (I had chicken wings)z the food was yummy and the service decent. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend it.

Damn! This place is great! We are traveling through & ate on the patio. The service Holly provided & food is excellent. We just happy to be here on half price wine night...which was cool, but being the southern boy that I am, I got the catfish dinner with best coleslaw I've ever had! Keep up the great work. Can't wait to come back.

Great place. We come to Jefferson sporadically and this is define. a go to place now. Some of the best Jefferson has to offer. Service was excellent. Food on par. Prices very reasonable. I had the chicken fried steak. We also got the crab cakes, pasta, the pecan pie and lava cake. We enjoyed all of it. The portions were just enough so you don't feel like you're rolling out from being so stuffed. I'm sorry it took so long to find this place.

We love this little town! This eating establishment is pretty neat. They were so good to allow my little dog. There is outdoor seating but it was so hot and humid with not a breath of air. The food was fair. However, the mini meat pies as an appetizer were very good. My husband ordered the fried catfish and I had the grilled chicken. We would love to try another place next time.

Food tasted great. Service was amazing. Zoey was our waitress and she was very attentive and took great care of us! The hostess was also very nice and sat us quickly! We also met the owner and he was very nice! I love the theme of the restaurant as well. Will definitely be back next time we are in town!

We were taken to our table by the hostess. 15 minutes later someone came to ask if we would like to order something else to drink besides water. We ordered drinks and food, since we ‘ve had enough time to go through the menu. No news in the 20 next minutes. Finally someone came to tell us that the beers were not cold. We got up and left. We’re not coming back anymore. That was not the first time, but definitely it’s going to be the last one.

Good food, daily specials and a nice patio. Been here many times and I recommend the steak, pasta dishes and fried catfish. It gets really hot inside during the summer months due to very limited AC. Hot!

We chose Sunday brunch at 1852 on Austin after hearing rave reviews, and it mostly lived up to the praise. Arriving around noon, we were seated right away and instantly charmed by the antique, nostalgic vibe, enhanced by a fantastic live country singer. The host was warm and welcoming, though our waitress was just average—lacking the personal touch we’d hoped for. The coffee was solid. We started with biscuits and mayhaw jelly; the jelly and butter were delicious, but the biscuits themselves were a bit dry and cold. The Texas breakfast with fresh fruit was enjoyable, featuring a build-your-own omelette and cheese grits. The omelette was flavorful and perfectly portioned, but the cheese grits stole the show—hands down the highlight of the meal. The sourdough toast was another win, nicely done. Overall, it was a very good brunch experience, and we’d happily return.

This was a lovely place! I got a burger and my wife ordered the korean chicken sandwich. Not to mention the BEST sweet potato fries!! We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and the environment. Wait staff wasn't the most attentive but I believe there wasn't many there, I still greatly appreciate that they were trying their best to attend multiple tables on their own. We'll definitely be returning again!!

This is a quaint, upscale restaurant in a southern atmosphere town in East Texas, Jefferson, to be exact. I have dined here on many occasions and, most of the time, have come out well satisfied. Last night, I ordered skirt steak, more properly called steak frites. I made it clear to the server that I wanted my steak cooked Medium Well. I realize most chefs shudder to cook steak more done than Medium, but when you are paying better than average prices, you should get your steak cooked the way you want it. My steak was Medium at best. When the server came over and asked me how things were, I told her the steak was underdone. She looked at it, shrugged, then walked away. No offer to take it back. When I received the check, I noticed she had written Medium Well on the order, but the chef chose to ignore it. I expected better.

Four of us visited for lunch. Took 45 minutes to get our food, and it wasn’t even packed. We had to ask for a drink refill as well. One of us ordered the 1852 Poutine, which we thought had burnt ends in it. We saw none. When we asked, we were told that the burnt ends were in the sausage. Didn’t see any at all! Tasted good but needs a better description on the menu. The fried green tomato BLT was very good!

One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Super tender. Not over seasoned. Sauce served on side. Dinner rolls were amazing. Good beer on draft. 100% would return.

I love this little upscale restaurant in Jefferson. I ordered the side salad, and the avocado toast for brunch. The waitress was very nice. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the musician who kept everyone entertained.

Friday evening, May 1st, found us in Jefferson, TX, where we met some family. My nephew recommended this restaurant and it turned out to be a great one at that. It was so nice catching up and the food and such I forgot to take photos of the food. But that is fine; we enjoyed ourselves. We were quickly seated and we enjoyed the banter with our waitress who was very quick witted and had great come backs. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts which were great the way they were prepared and then moved on to our meal which arrived soon after finishing the appetizer. My nephew and I both ordered NY strips; mine with the sweet potato hash and his with mashed potatoes. My wife loved her lobster ravioli while niece order chicken marsala. It was a nice dining experience and a great evening catching up.

This place is well laid out and has a lot to offer for someone looking to get fudge, ice cream, teas, coffee, and other things. The tables were clean and the chairs were great quality and still looked new. The menu is limited and it is pretty pricey for what you get. I love the fact that it had thick sliced turkey on my sandwich but then it had cheap cheese on there. Let’s upgrade that plastic cheese to something else to reflect the price of the sandwich. There should be sides you can order like fries or fried pickles. If these are listed on the menu I totally missed them. I’m not a fan of ruffles or plain potato chips so even offering a side of potato salad would be nice. Also it should list that the sandwich is buttered. I would have opted out of this.

Cute store with an ice cream and homemade candy stand in the back. I bought a postcard and some homemade soap. Lots of neat things to buy.

This Outpost has lots of goodies to eat, candy, ice cream and a restaurant. Easy seating and fast service. The staff made us feel welcome and brought extra smiles to the table. A definite must stop in Jefferson.

My husband and I stumbled upon this shop and were pleasantly surprised to find that they serve food. They have a great lunch special and what we’ve tried so far has been delicious!! Everyone was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was nice. We’ll definitely be going back

The cutest little place we stopped here with our kids for breakfast while roadtripping to Branson Missouri. I got the biscuits and gravy. You can tell the biscuits are home made from scratch so good. I also bought some chocolates for the family to try on the road trip.

We visited as a large group of 14, and while the staff was okay, the experience was mixed. Some of our food arrived cold, and one order was completely forgotten. To top it off, a glove was found in one of our breakfast burritos! Definitely needs improvement.

My first time but many visits are in the future! Wonderful place, people so friendly and so clean! Had a great breakfast of eggs, bacon and biscuits covered with sausage gravy, lets not forget the Carmel Macchiato with a extra shot! So many things to look at and had great hand made candies, anything you want and things you've never though of! Highly Recommend! 5 Star's was easy!

Very RUDE! I waited outside for 15 mins for food. I went inside a very NICELY asked if they knew how much longer on my burger and was given attitude because another customer who had been waiting longer then me still hadn’t gotten her food was upset. Not ok yall need new people if they r going to act that way when someone who’s actually being nice asks for there food. I could of just been rude like the customer in front of me!

Yall are so lazy and then have the nerves to have an attitude with someone. If I ask for my meat well done that is what I expect, do not tell me it cant be cook well done when its been done before. Also when you take food back through drive through; you suppose to remake new food not just reheat my meat up n chunk it on the same damn burger Ann, yes she was the cook n I know the people n location well. Yall never even give us receipts like your supposed too.

Good place, clean, and nice place to eat. Some good Tex-Mex dishes like taco salad. We eat here every time we travel through. Has been great for years. UPDATE 2023: DQ updated the inside. They removed all the wood and instead did metal & glass (see new pic). While I miss the greenery, the new decor is really nice.

Our cones were perfect. I pulled my rig over in front of this location & got a couple of soft serve cones for the road. They were fast, friendly, & the cones were everything I wanted.

Ordered 2 meals. Only thing right was the cokes. Burgers were horrible. They forgot the veggies and sauce. Even after they asked Mayor or mustard. She told cook and still got nothing but bread meat and cheese. The patty was over cooked and very bland. The fries were over cooked and bland. The service was horrible like we bothered them coming to the drive thru. This was at 330 on a Friday so not late not during a rush. Nothing special about our order a number 1 and a number 1 add bacon. 22.00 and it was worth maybe 5.00 cause the cokes were good.

Husband and I ordered at the drive thru. I ordered 2 Deluxe Nachos with everything on them. But on one order I simply specified to one young lady to not add jalapenos to one of the nachos deluxe order and on the other order to add jalapenos. The young lady said ok. So when I get to the window and paid for my orders which came out to 21 dollars and some change, one of the young ladies told me to pull up and they would bring my order out. I waited some minutes, but not too too long. When I got the order, I looked in it and wala!!!! Both orders full of jalapenos on both orders. So I drove back around and told them I plainly asked them to not add jalapenos to both orders. Just add jalapenos to one order and they told me to pull around. So a nice lady came to the window and she made sure it was fixed right. I appreciate that part But dammit when I got home, them nachos were soggy as a pair of gym shorts from someone sweating all-day. I'm very upset. Noone deserve to pay all their hard earned money on such poor service. Some of them in there just don't listen. Do better Dairy Queen!!!!!! I remember when y'all use to be on point. Step it up!

I ordered blizzards what i got was milk with cheesecake, strawberries and chocolate pieces in it 😐 the wait was terrible. There was one car ahead of me in drive thru they got 3 small blizzards and a dipped cone. I got 2 blizzards (well milk) and I sat for 20 minutes plus it took forever for someone to ask me what they could get for me at the speaker. Very disappointed

I have to say this might be the worst Mcdonalds in America! The owner must straight up not care. Avoid this place! Food takes forever, rudest employees, the food is old, cold, and fryer oils not changed. We hardly ever go to Mcdonalds period. We go to Jefferson and wow we wont make that mistake again! Wife got food poisoning from the chicken nuggets. I just seen these reviews and had to drop mine as well. I was there in 5/25 and it looks like nothing has changed. Really sad to see and hear these comments, everyone working there should be ashamed along with the owners.

Went inside to place and order. The lady who took my order made an error. No one came to help her, after she requested help. I called out to the manager after waiting for 5 mins or more, she looked at me and turned away. I decided to leave. Other people in line left because they couldn't put in an order, since the cashier couldn't work her register. I also called and manager answered, she was rude and offered no apologies.

First experience at computerized order kiosk. Not user friendly for old people. When I hollered that we needed a real person please, one lady said she wasn't a real person and walked away. We ended up with 3 breakfasts for 2 of us and no hot tea which was on the menu. Not a cozy comfy place--not indicative of Jefferson hospitality.

Some of the rudest people I've ever encountered in fast food. One worker was chewing gum putting her fingers in and out of her mouth and working at the food counter, disgusting! And they got my order wrong not slightly wrong very wrong. Here's the secret in the food business "a good attitude will get you much further". A positive attitude is better to have when you mess up. But the indignant attitude no good. You don't like your job don't work there. You've had a bad day don't take it out on me!!!

We ordered a small Mocha Frappe and a Hamburger and she slapped Frappe surcharge on the bill! We didn't order a meL and upgrade the Drink. Why the higher price? Ridiculous!

Parking stunk from not being cleaned of leaking trash being taken out of restaurant. Condiments not given or offered, then have to wait to request as employees stand, doing nothing while waiting on orders to be filled, with their backs facing the counter.

This location has no high chairs!! They were not replaced after the remodel according to the staff. My munchkin could just reach the table, but other parents beware. I have never known a restaurant not cater to little kids!! And a 40 minute wait for coffee 😬

This is a fun little store to wander around. It is a mixture of touristy items, Texas items, and a little local selection. It’s very much like most “modern” general stores where it has throwback items and old time candy, etc. a good selection of toys and then jams/jellies and similar. Worth a look but don’t expect anything really novel or other than expected. Friendly staff.

Little known secret about the oldest store here in jefferson; there is a play area in the back for children, where they can read in a nook, play diner, or go shopping. They also have the same checkers table set up for them in the back with really affordable toys. My grand babies love to come here just like I did when I was a child. Best memories a Root beer float and precious times.. generation after generation...

We arrived in Jefferson to meet some folks and we stopped in here while we waited to pass some time. The place is full of a eclectic mix of items: clothing to candy. We spent over an hour poking about and the staff there was very friendly and glad to see us. We bought a few things and were out in no time. No hassles, no problems. A great experience in Jefferson, Texas.

Everything about visiting our local grocery store is normally great. But today, we were refused service from a young woman in the deli. Thankfully, another staff stepped up and assisted us.

I've been coming to the Jefferson brookshire for years love the people I normally do not do reviews but today I have to I got to the check out and the young lady rang me up when I went to pay with my card I requested cash pack of 20.00 before I could say how I wanted the cash she instantly handed me a 20 dollar bill I ask her if I could have 4 five's instead of the twenty she said sure started to open her cash register when one of your employees told her she couldn't do that that she could be fired again I've been coming here for years and I have done the same thing before your other employee stated I needed to go the the customer service counter I've never had a problem with anyone until today don't know where he came from don't care but to ask for cash back and if the clerk gets in a rush or something and im simply asking to get what i wanted to say she or he will be fired for that is ridiculous

I love this Brookshires in Jefferson texas . Just had the nicest young man, Ethan Maxwell, take my groceries to the car for me. I offered him $10 for taking my groceries out and he refused. Said it was his job and he was happy to help. He is kind, professional and an outstanding representative of Brookshires. I don’t know him personally but he must have amazing parents to raise such a high quality, impressive young man.

Stopped here while traveling, first time trying them out. Our server was so sweet and didn't miss a beat with any of our questions or requests. The food was pretty good (some pics included), and the price not too bad. Wish we had one of these places where I'm from!

I'm writing this review before I get my meal. First cup of coffee was gross with brown/black around the rim of the cup. I asked for a new cup and waitress went and got a new cup in which had specs of something around the rim and brought glasses of water that also appear to have been dirty. At this point I'm scared to order. I ask for egg whites, can't do those. Food we got was good but my grits bowl was dirty so I didn't eat grits. Thing is when u have dirty dishes it makes u wonder if they even clean the utensils and cooking surfaces they prepare food on. We won't be back simply because I'm not a person that can eat or drink from dirty dishes.

I really like the food at this particular huddle house and my server crystal , was especially a treat. She was very nice very courteous very attentive and she left me with a smile. I hope all your servers are like this if they are you’re gonna be a very popular place if you’re not already, this was my first time here and I will be coming back because I come here all the time.

Greayt food and feels like home! Yall... this place is the best food. I suggest coming at evening shift..Server Haylee is AMAZING and we wish there were more like her! This girl deserves a raise! So my first time trying a Huddle House. Well, I wasn't impressed. I definitely felt like the person who waited on me didn't want to be there. She made me feel as if I was bothering her by placing my order. The food had no flavor, no seasoning at all. It's definitely not worth the price of what I paid.

Absolutely the Cleanest,best selection and best service hands down.... They don't just have fudge they have antiques, and new items very inexpensive..and the young lady behind the counter (Sarah )was super friendly and helpful in our next stop ...very pleasant and the reason we'll be back ....the employees and the fudge....

They make really good fudge in house. The chocolate covered nuts are good but not made in house. Chocolate is expensive and in shortage these days but they charge less than popular tourist destinations. Lady in charge the day was super nice and informative.

The pecan pralines, fudge, and truffles are all really good! The autographed local books are very nice as well! But…everything else is a little subpar compared to the rest of the shops. The store just doesn’t seem to mesh well between the food items, propaganda everywhere, and the very very limited antiques. If this were only a fudge store it would make much more sense.

Went in for fudge and coffee, but got told long stories about his family in storyteller mode (complete with a ghost story book in hand). This is fine, if requested, but it felt way too long winded and I hadn’t had coffee. Didn’t want to pay for K-Cup coffee there, prefer drip. Prices on all items felt too steep, tourist pricing on basics. Cool antiques though!!! The shop went further back than I thought, which was a treat to enjoy. Purchased some jar pickled okra, but didn’t like them. Declined on getting fudge because there was a cockroach inside the fudge case playing peek-a-boo with me. He said they’d just sprayed, however my mind couldn’t get past that. An A for efforts overall, as this place is neat, but not one I desire to return to.

My family and I visited the Jefferson Fudge Co. and we had a great visit. If Linc isn’t busy when you stop by, he will tell you the best ghost story of Ladybird’s family. There is delicious fudge and chocolates that are all homemade. The store has lots of cool gifts, foods and spices. If you want small town stories and great company then this is the place to stop!

This ice cream place has got the WOW FACTOR! it's something I've never had before and extremely yummy so if you're coming to Jefferson then stop by this yummy place. Enjoy and I can invite the while family.

I haven’t cared for their products that have pie in them; something about the type of pie crust they use I’m not crazy about, but everything else I’ve tried has been really good. It’s a nice option for sweets in Jefferson. Give it a shot!

When it comes to Red bus two things you can be sure to expect. The imagination that goes into the design of these cupcakes can only be rivaled by that of their taste. The staff is friendly and efficient the grounds are clean well-kept and have plenty of seating parking and things to do while you wait and eat. If you want a good snack and a place to have fun I recommend redbus cupcakes.

A fun place to get a delicious Cupcake, sundae, floats, and more while visiting the many shops in Downtown Jefferson or sitting top side in the air-conditioning. The employees are very pleasant as well.

We both got Root Beer Floats. Amazing! We enjoyed sitting upstairs in the bus in the A/C.

Such an amazing experience! This place is a gem! Great food and great service! Certainly made our anniversary getaway that much more special! I had the Filet Mignon and my husband had the Pecan Crusted Trout. We both had potatoes au gratin and a side of Mac and cheese with panchetta. Dessert was Limoncello and a Chocolate Mousse Meringue cake with whipped topping and almonds Wonderful!

This would be an excellent restaurant in any city, but it happens to be in Jefferson, TX. Let me break it down. The place: An 1890’s house is perfect for a restaurant in this town of Victorian homes. It’s very tastefully decorated and minimalist. The dining rooms are smaller, since the layout of the old house remains. This makes it feel intimate. They also have a bar which only prepares drinks for diners. The food: The menu is sufficiently creative while covering a variety of proteins and delicious sides. I opened with a goat cheese salad and was not disappointed (every inch of the salad was dressed with the sweet vinaigrette, but it was still deliciously light). I ordered the trout and my dining partner had the massive pork chop that was the night’s special. The house side of sweet potato puree was world class, and we both enjoyed our dishes very much. The prices: Expect to spend what any good restaurant will cost you. Our meal cost about $100 per person, but without the bottle of wine you should be able to keep it to about $75 per person. It’s pricey for every day, but really worth trying when you have something to celebrate…or when you want the best meal in the county. The service: Our waiter’s name was David, and he was an excellent waiter. He was on top of every detail all evening, and he knew the menu very well. He came by at least 4 times during our meal. With staff like David, the service will be a positive memory of any dinner here. Summary: Deserves the 5 stars, even when compared to upscale restaurants in “the city.” Fair prices, great service, food, and ambience for a gourmet dining restaurant. If you’re a tourist in Jefferson, like we were, you should definitely check it out.

Quality prepared food. Have never been disappointed in taste & texture. Prices are at a premium, but a great place for a special occassion/event or simply when you want to take your significant other for a fine meal and enjoy an elegant evening. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The location itself is an old home built circa 1893, and the craftsmanship of the building itself is evident. The grounds are pleasing, and an easy to find place. Overall, I have never heard of someone being disappointed in their dining experience at this restaurant, so definitely worth the trip to have dinner with family, friends, or simply a date with your love.

Had a medium beef tenderloin that was cooked perfect. Very tender and moist. Portions are sensible and homemade bread is very good also. Limited menu and had some slow service (tho that was probably due to size of our group). But the service was very friendly and eager to help. Pricey, but fortunately I have not had to pay yet.

Stillwater Inn is my favorite restaurant for many reasons. My meal Saturday night was perfection! The cream of Asparagus soup was a first and was awesome! Pork tenderloin was perfection, and chocolate mousse was again a perfect ending! The Stewart's are great people and provide top quality service in an elegant, relaxed atmosphere. I am ready to dine again.

Absolutely one of the best places we have stayed at. We stayed two nights in the Diamond Bessie Room. Very comfy, clean and has A/C!. It was very quite and walking distance to town. We ordered the Honeymoon package and it was waiting for us when we arrived. The best part, Breakfast was amazing! Can't wait to go back in the Fall.

We stayed at the Sam Houston House for the first time which is managed by the owners of the Carriage House, and we LOVED it. It is within walking distance of The Carriage House where we enjoyed s'mores and all the wine we could drink in the evening, compliments of the owners. Then, we ate a fabulous 5 star breakfast the next morning that is included in the price when you stay at one of the properties owned/managed by owners of The Carriage House.

Perfect location walking distance from downtown. And right across the street from the best coffee shop in town. The grounds are lovely with so many great outdoor spots to sit and enjoy coffee or wine. And the breakfast is absolutely outstanding!

OMG, BREAKFAST!!!! The owner was super friendly, we were all about the same age with similar life experiences. Really enjoyed her company. Clean, peaceful yet in the heart of everything you want to in Jefferson. I will be a repeat visitor. Shawn and Shirley!

One of the most relaxed stays we have had at a bed and breakfast. The breakfasts were culinary treats with desserts served first. Complementary wine and s'mores available in the evening. Conveniently close to shops and museums. It was an excellent way to celebrate our anniversary.

This is such a cute bed and breakfast! The furnishings are reminiscent of early 1900s the food is beyond amazing! Definitely take part in the breakfasts the location is great. Very close to everything in historic part of Jefferson Would love to stay here again

I’m about to post my review: When planning my visit to Marshall, I knew Serenity Ranch was a must—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Nestled in the serene piney woods of Jefferson, Texas, the setting alone was worth the trip. The drink menu was excellent. We enjoyed a selection of wines and cocktails, and even took a chance on the “surprise me” option—bartender Michael delivered something fantastic and unique. Our waiter, Gabriel, was not only attentive but impressively knowledgeable about the ranch and the menu. We ordered the ribeye and the shrimp scampi—both were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a staff that made us feel genuinely cared for. After dinner, we explored their cigar collection and spent some time at the bar, where we got to learn more about the business and its roots. If you're anywhere near Jefferson or Marshall, I highly recommend stopping by for a steak—you won’t be disappointed. I’m already looking forward to our next visit.

Recently came for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday and had a great experience from the great server, Kristen, to the amazing drinks and food. Can’t wait to go back already. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants some great steaks and drinks. The cheesecake was one of the best I’ve ever had, get the cherry sauce added! You won’t be disappointed.

Amazing food, amazing service and an elegant relaxing atmosphere make for a one-of-a-kind experience. This isn't your typical steakhouse fare. The steaks here are elevated up into the stratosphere. I had the filet and my wife had the ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection The drinks were amazing. So good in fact, it warrants the barstaff receiving a separate tip. The valet service was excellent. I did not have to wait to have my car dropped off or picked up and the young man providing the valet service was very courteous. My old fashioned made with Woodford was fantastic!. My wife had a honey lavender lemon drop and she said it was exquisite. For dessert you must get the limoncello. Forget everything else you see on the dessert menu. Get the limoncello. They haven't flown in from Italy and you can tell. Lastly, if you like after dinner cocktails, try the Milky Way. It's like an Irish cream coffee on a whole another level. If I could provide a higher rating I would. I will be going back here again and again. Make sure you call ahead a few days in advance and make reservations. This place is full everyday

From the moment you drive up, you know Serenity Ranch is a special place. The setting, is beautiful. Chickens and horses greeted us and the valet was a welcome sight. Once you’re inside , the magic begins. Decor is over the top. The sever that helped us was the best. Did and drinks were worth the drive. GEAUX !! You’re in for incredible dining experience.

Our fishing guide on Lake O The Pines suggested we stop here for lunch. We took his advice and it was great! The service was very fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean and I loved the decor. The burgers were huge and delicious! When you need a bite to eat or snacks- fishing items this is the place to stop!!

I absolutely hate giving a bad review but sometimes I am left with no choice....DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY EATING HERE! We came to eat breakfast on a Sunday morning around 9:30 a.m. first sign should of been just a couple cars out front, second sign was the waitress ignoring us for over 15 minutes she only had 1 other table (should of left then)The owner(I'm assuming) finally came over to ask if we wanted coffee and to take our order (no menus, just a lighted board on wall that is very difficult to read from any of the tables,) I order soft scrambled eggs and you can see in the picture what was brought to me was not scrambled in any universe...it was fried eggs that was chopped up(gross to me), my hashbrowns left a black skid mark on my plate when I went to pick them up off the plate, you would think they couldn't mess up toast but they did it was toasted on a blackend greasy grill that left skidmarks on the plate as well....that's really being nice about the food but their waitress needs to either trained or replaced you do not ignore a table while you stand behind a counter and drink your coffee . This is not our first time here quite the opposite we have been here several times over past 15 years and it was a great place to eat but that is no longer and we will not ever be going back $27.97 for breakfast for 2 (just eggs, meat,hashbrowns and bread)

Got here & waited for them to open ( We waited for 30 mins) it is now 6:38 am they still NOT open, person doesn't have a KEY!!!! smh.There were several vehicles there waiting.

This place rarely opens at 6 AM. I see many ppl pull in and leave expecting 6 am opening. Do better!

Very near Lake O the Pines, where I was camping, this place served up some damn good breakfast from the sweetest ever waitress, Melissa.

Always get my minnows for lake of the pines here and they have a small restaurant connected with pretty good food. The ladies are always friendly and put a smile on sons face when they told him if he catches a fish to take a picture and they would put it on the wall with many others

Amazing Service After Reopening – Popeyes is Back and Better Than Ever! Popeyes has always been a go-to for delicious comfort food, but after reopening, their service has taken things to a whole new level! I’ve been back a few times recently, and I can honestly say I’m more impressed than ever. Not only is the food as amazing as it’s always been—crispy chicken, buttery biscuits, and the best mashed potatoes with gravy—but the service is on point. The staff has been so friendly and efficient, especially considering the increased demand post-reopening. Every time I go in, the team greets me with a smile, and they’ve been super quick to get my order right. I was especially impressed with how smooth everything was—food came out fast, fresh, and piping hot. It’s clear they’ve really dialed in their operations since reopening. Also, shoutout to the drive-thru crew—they’re handling the lines like pros, and I never feel like I’m waiting forever, even during busy hours. Plus, the staff’s positivity is contagious; you can tell they’re all working hard and doing their best, and it makes the experience even better. And let’s not forget the chicken—crispy, juicy, and just the right amount of spice. The Popeyes chicken sandwich still reigns supreme, and those sides? Absolute perfection. If you’ve been hesitant to return since they reopened, don’t be! Popeyes is better than ever, and with the friendly service they’ve got now, I’ll definitely be back again and again.

I made a mobile order and it was supposed to be ready by 7:24pm. I arrive and I can see my ticket is still sitting on the counter, not made. I didn’t end up receiving my order until 7:59pm. And more issues before this even happened. (1) When I went inside to pick up my order, I wasn’t acknowledged until maybe 10 minutes later. There were multiple employees just standing around doing nothing. An employee just looked at me and said “what do you need?” And before I could answer, walked away. (2) When I finally got my order (well after 30 minutes of waiting, plus the entire time being over 45 minutes from when my order said it was ready for pickup) the chicken tenders were TINY! I’m talking about less than 2”, all three of them! (3) My fries weren’t even warm. They weren’t even just a lukewarm or cool, they were ice cold. Like they were still frozen. (4) They forgot my sauces and when I politely asked “excuse me when you get a moment, could I have two blackened ranches?” the employee just looked at me, grossed out, grabbed the sauces and tossed them to me across the counter. I thanked her and all she did was roll her eyes and shake her head. (5) After waiting in the store for 30 minutes for my food to be ready, at 7:59pm I was told “we’re out of spicy tenders, do you want to wait 10 minutes for them to come out?” 30 minutes of waiting for an order that should have already been packaged and ready for pick-up, and you’re asking me if I want to wait an additional 10 minutes because you don’t have what I want? Unacceptable. (6) My chicken sandwich was made and it was bloody and raw inside. Most of the “patty” was breading, but the little bit of meat that was given was still bleeding and raw.

**EDIT** I'm sorry I reacted poorly. Popeyes has always been my favorite. I decided to try one more time today and although the line wrapped around the building and inside was packed, I got my food fairly quickly. I understand how packed y'all have been since opening so I praise the hard working people you have there, and the extremely clean inside! I have updated my stars. Should be 0 stars for having zero chicken for the 3rd trip in a row since it reopened. Sounds like someone should start ordering enough to cover the demand. Disappointing.

I enjoy the customer service every time I come to this location. Ms. Taja is a great manager and exceptional in all that she does. The staff is also very pleasant and accommodating. I recommend any and all to come experience this environment. Good to have yall back!

They are newly opened and the wait was crazy long, maybe an hour or more. 3piece strips were flavorful and good, the cajun fries were warm and soggy. Coleslaw and biscuit was ok. I am hopeful for improvement because we need a Popeyes here.

11/10/25 Only spicy chicken and no tenders and regular chicken or wings, do better order your stock right. Other than today my previous time after they reopened it was great with everything in stock

This sandwich was Bussing, the bacon was good , toasted bread and the chicken was crispy and moist at the same time!! Popeyes you did it again with this chicken sandwich 🥪! I will be back!!

I eat here on a regular basis.Its always very good food.Its country cooking at its best!I ate the grilled catfish and fried catfish a couple of days ago.Wow!!!I have been a truck driver for 38 years been all over this country and eaten just about all over this great country.I have never eaten fish like this along with the grilled green beans a grilled squash.Its the BEST I EVER Have Eaten!!!Let me tell you, my taste buds we're momentarily in heaven.Hats of to you all.Mrs.Sandy an Lisa, Prisci golly y'all can truly whip up a awesome meal.If you want a nice clean environment, friendly country people an a wide variety of food choices at affordable prices go here!Go Pines!

Oh my goodness- so so good!! Fresh, and made to order. The best kind of comfort food. The hushpuppies were the best I have ever had! Fish, okra, corn, squash etc was all good. We will be back.

Very welcoming and homey. The service was so friendly and accurate. I ordered the grilled fish and squash and they cleaned a section of the grill to cook my food because of my allergies. That is a rare accommodation. Others in our group had the fried fish and they enjoyed their meals. Of course we had to try the buttermilk pecan pie. We were impressed. Lovely ladies that know how to cook and greet the public. Stop by; you will be happy you did.

The food here is awesome! The patty melt is my favorite, but their BBQ and chicken fried steak are very good, too. Fried okra is a great snack! Never had a bad meal here.

Found this place by accident. Glad we did! There were three people in our party. All three had something different. Shrimp, chicken fried steak, and a turkey club, and it was all amazing. We will be going here as often as we can.

Awesome family run restaurant. Dont skip on the pot of beans, they were a delicious way to start the meal.
