Fish & chips restaurant
Restaurant
The Crazy Norwegians Fish & Chips in Port Orford is a popular spot known for its deep-fried seafood, including fish n chips and calamari. The restaurant offers appetizing coffee and a variety of other great foods. It's a one-of-a-kind experience for anyone visiting the area, with excellent food and wonderful customer service.
Hands down one of the best, if not THE BEST, fish and chips I’ve ever had! The fish (cod) tastes like it was just caught and freshly made. The chowder is also amazing. We also had the local cranberry lemonade and milkshakes — both delicious. This is a must try place!

Ok, I’ll start off by saying this place was a total Vibe, I’m happy that I made the trip up to Port Orford to visit on an empty stomach. The vibe was perfect in every way; the weather was crappy, the wind and the rain played their part in the whole experience. I walked in around 3:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon. Quick to be seated I was greeted with a smile by a gal that was kind and friendly, described the specials, but I was there on a mission, oyster Shooters and the fish and chips. I ordered a couple shooters and a double order of fish and chips. The shooters were absolutely delicious! My order came out, I chose the slaw which was delicious as well, the fish was superb and the fries on point!! I was in heaven!! I give this place a 10/10 and will be back soon! I recommend eating here! The food and the service is excellent!! Thank you Crazy Norwegian!
Jake G — Google review
i was going to order the chicken strips because I figured that they would batter them fresh like they do in out the fish, but I was told they purchase them pre- breaded. This, I got a bacon burger (no cheese) with fries. I was impressed with how moist the burger was, how the bun still had some integrity and held up. The patty is made in-house. It was an ideal thickness and moist. Well seasoned. The bacon was some of the best bacon I’ve had on a burger in a while. It was crisp and meaty, and was a good thickness where you could still taste it amongst all the other toppings. The lettuce, onion, and tomato were fresh and of sufficient quality. I believe it was just mayo on the bum for sauce, but it was good. The fries were the perfect combo of crisp and soft. Very well seasoned and I enjoyed the thickness. The best mainstream fry that I can compare to would be a Red Robin fry, but these are seasoned with just salt. The pasta salad was good. It came with my boyfriend’s meal, not my own. But I tasted it and enjoyed it Overall, I will come back when I’m town.

Like thousands before me, I came for the fish & chips. After watching videos and reading reviews online the hype was real. The fish was fantastic. Crispy yet flakey and flavorful. This dish was clearly a taste of the pacific, and truly a staple on the coast that you should definitely visit. The fries complimented the fish very well, and are clearly an important part of what they do here. I know this place has a bunch of reviews on their fish & chips, but for good reason. Great job crew.
Phillip M — Google review
We don’t eat fish & chips normally but this place has very fresh fish fried to perfection, crispy out and tender inside. We loved the icy cold beer steins and our waitress was merry and fun who seemed to enjoy her work a lot! Seating space was small and limited so a lot of people ordered the takeout instead of dine in.
Robin W — Google review
I wish there were six stars, it was that good. We had local rock fish, which was excellent. Don't forget the dessert, this place has a pie maker beyond belief...best coconut cream pie on the West Coast!
Kevin ( — Google review
We stopped while driving down the coast because there was a huge line outside of a single service window. An hour later, having waited over 30 minutes to order, the food still had not come out and we were seriously doubting the wisdom of our choice. I no longer remember why I was suspicious. The cod and the shrimp were so good. I can’t currently remember eating other food. Well, well worth it if you can survive the wait.
Burton R — Google review
Frozen Alaskan cod instead of local fish, which is so disappointing considering Port Orford has a thriving local fishery, must be a profit thing but that is not passed down to customer, same prices as other fish mongers up and down coast except they offer local fish like ling cod, rockfish etc...the menu just mentions "cod" and im sure most people assume its fresh, not frozen..most other places will proudly detail what type of ling cod, rockfish etc, this place leaves that info out, kind of deceptive. Not sure if this place was different before new owner from Portland, but what a shame, literally steps away from one of the best local fisheries in Oregon but you get frozen Alaskan cod, apparently some local fish is offered occasionally as a "special" item, instead of being the norm, even tourist town Bandon has local fish in every restaurant, you would expect at least the same in a thriving fishing port like Port Orford, i added a photo of what a local rock fish basket from Bandon Bait looks like, its only a half order and it has more food than greedy, i mean crazy norwegian and it even includes a small locally caught bay shrimp cocktail!

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Redfish is an upscale-casual eatery in Port Orford, Oregon, offering modern French-inspired seafood dishes with ocean views and a patio. The restaurant is known for its delicious wine, craft beer, and martinis. It has a cozy atmosphere that makes visitors feel relaxed while enjoying their meal. Redfish is considered one of the finest restaurants in Port Orford, offering spectacular and affordable cuisine with a wide selection of drinks.
While eating the lamb gluten-free wasn't available, they accommodated me with making the scallop dish with polenta instead. So yummy! As were the steamed clams and the oyster shooter! The view was stunning but the sun sets on the other side of the bluff so you'll mainly experience the sunset as it reflects off the mountains. Thankfully they were open until 830pm tonight instead of what their website and Google maps info says. Really lovely!

This is a high end eatery with great art and ambiance. Not cheap. But very good food and GREAT service. The grilled fish sandwich was good, different tho--- pieces of fish mixed together with the slaw. It was good. They have GF buns and GF options too. And: amazing cocktails. Go for the view and the drinks. Dog Friendly. Dogs on patio, which was windy but wonderful.
Kimberly A — Google review
The lamb shank meal was good and the past my husband had was yummy. The desserts were by far the best part they were delicious. I had home made ice cream and a blueberry cobbler. He had the sticky taffy cake which was warmed and so good. They have a good selection for drinks due note the wine list is mostly by the bottle. They did have a half bottle option which I haven't seen before. The service was amazing we had Chub and he was wonderful. He was kind, funny and he made the dinning experience top notch.
Ashley M — Google review
This is an atypical IMHO newer restaurant right next to an art gallery. It was very tastefully decorated and stands out as a comfortable small restaurant with gorgeous views. Food was very high quality, the menu - creative, service - outstanding. I wish I had lunch here everyday. Clam chowder and fish tacos are my top choices.
Anna D — Google review
Great location and restaurant is very nice. We ordered garlic clams , they were very good but the NE clam chowder was not so good. Too bad, place has a great view.
G H — Google review
Stunning view, professional and courteous staff, and Chef Brian is an absolute artist with a fantastic menu. Daemian’s artwork adds an elegant and modern touch to the most incredibly located restaurant of all time! The local, organic wines and brews compliment the delectable menu options perfectly! If you’re lucky enough to be reading this review, and you’re anywhere near this place YOU HAVE TO GO!! The local owners are kind and wonderful people who offer an amazing Airbnb above the restaurant for an incredibly reasonable fee. Every bite of everything, including the kids’ meals, is satiating and attentively made with care. The only complaint I have is that I live in Ohio and now Redfish has set the bar for food so high that it’s gonna be really hard for anyone to match their level of perfection… most places with a great view rest on their “location laurels” simply serving up slop knowing everyone is gonna show up for the view, but Redfish strives to make their dining experience, food, wine, and cocktails taste as amazing as the view of the majestic pacific cove from their patio tables!! 1000/10!!! Don’t miss this gem while driving up or down the coast!!!
Graham D — Google review
We stumbled onto this gem on a road trip down from Newport. Google Maps neglected to even highlight it initially. Absolutely amazing views are just the start. Our waiter was great, giving us a heads up on what they were out of. I had the Sablefish, which the waiter told us had been a special before being placed on the regular dinner menu. The fish was very tender, and the whole meal was quite even with its pasta. I appreciate these meals using olive oil over a cream sauce. I split a salad with my wife. The spicy cashews were so tasty, and the breadstick was just fun. Her scallops were very tasty along with the green gnocchi. Our sticky toffee pudding was a great finish.
Scott H — Google review
We made reservations for 6pm last night and from the moment we walked through the door until we finished our epic dining experience, we felt like family! The Stars who run the show go out of their way to include everyone in their friendly banter and I don’t think we stopped smiling the whole time we were there! And it was busy! Monica was our amazing Server! Her “Ta-Da’s” every time she brought a course out, made the experience just that much more memorable! We had the empanadas, Caesar salads, filet mignon, stuffed chicken breast, and the toffee cake for dessert. We give the Redfish 10⭐️STARS!!⭐️ and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!♥️💖

Great coffee, impeccable decor, and a very friendly cat - what more can you ask for? I got the lemon loaf and it was delicious, with a moist and fluffy texture and lemon flavor all the way through, not just in the icing.

We stopped at this place during a road trip, and it was quite interesting. The inside of the store is very eerie and is filled with various objects. It really reminded me of a place where there are regular cult meeting. Baked products we bought, though, were tasty and it was a great experience. Apple pies are especially delicious.

A great stop while making your way through Port Orford. We stayed in her AirBnB next door (incredible) and in the morning we walked in and she was welcoming, kind, and had a great selection of pastries, cheese, meats, crackers, and the coffee was really good! Everything in the shop was mesmerizing- I could have looked around for hours. Make sure to say hi to the turtle!

The restaurant serves an eclectic mix of delicious foods made with the best ingredients, including hot and cold sandwiches, salads, smoothies, breakfast items, pastries, cakes, ice cream, and homemade dog treats.
My husband and I go here for a sweet treat now and then. We enjoy their homemade pastries, cookies & carrot muffins (with cream cheese frosting 😋) the most. For a really rich treat their cheesecake is great. They also offer pie, baklava and other decadent delicious desserts. Never been disappointed. The employees are friendly and we enjoy sitting outdoors under the pine trees. Nice place to go. Lots of beverages too. Lunches, dinner items, and more.

I wish more cities had a place like this. Such a great place, with so many high quality homemade options! There's something for everyone in the family, whether you're looking for a meal or a snack or a smoothie or soup/sandwich or a meal for later. Very friendly old-fashioned style service and prices, and nice places to sit inside or out. I'd highly recommend grabbing some food from here and having a picnic overlooking the ocean at Battle Rock Arch 3 minutes away.

A cozy farmhouse filled with yummy foods to eat in or take out. Nice seating inside, picnic tables outside. We had salad from the salad bar, excellent, with some organic items. An excellent gf carrot cake as well. They have a wide variety of temping items.

Wowza!! Super cool …This place is reminiscent of the old school co-ops in terms of the deli . Great Vegetarian options of precooked and take away . Baked good to satisfy and delight any sweet tooth . We had the gluten free carrot cake and couldn’t even tell it was gluten free like some baked goods that tend to be dry and flavorless this was moist and fresh and delicious. They also carry lots of local home cooked flavor of seafood, It seems although we are not seafood eaters. Just GO there and see for yourself :)

What a great find this shop is. It has everything you need for a healthy as well as not so healthy (fondly thinking of you cinnamon rolls) food choices. An on-site bakery producing amazing treats, a help yourself salad bar, pre-made salads, a nice dry goods section, prepared frozen dishes, ice cream, as well as a small selection of fresh produce. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is just a great vibe about the place. Treat yourself!

This cozy establishment not only serves up delicious food but also boasts an impressive collection of musical instruments adorning its walls and ceilings, creating a vibrant atmosphere for guests to enjoy. As you step inside, you'll be captivated by the eclectic decor that sets the stage for live music sessions featuring talented local musicians.
I took my family there and enjoyed a delicious pizza while The Adam Coleman Band did an amazing 2 hour set of classic hits and a few originals. It was banger after banger... our pizza got delivered to the wrong table by mistake but they made us a new one and apologized. That pie was so good I didn't care about the mistake. Besides they were slammed. 5 stars all the way. GREAT PLACE! if your thinking about checking them out, just do it! You won't be disappointed.

This is the place to go Wednesday-Saturday if you're a music lover with a taste for great pizza! The atmosphere is unmatched, making you feel like you're receiving a small concert every time you go!

Food was delicious, the iced mocha had wonderful dark rich flavor made with house roasted beans. And our food was very refreshing and well made. They also had some live music with Ed playing the guitar.
Ashley M — Google review
This is an interesting pizza place. The decor includes guitars on the ceiling and walls plus lots of other musical instruments. The food - pizza and cottage pie were lacking in flavor but were passable. Even though it looks like a bar, they only serve beer and wine.
Andee A — Google review
Fantastic atmosphere. Owner is super cool. Pizza is fresh and has great flavor. Live music is incredible. Guitars everywhere, people just start playing. Watched guitar being restrung while he was serving beer and making pizzas.. it's a musicians dream hangout.

Mr. Ed's has a little bit of magic to it! We were traveling on Thanksgiving Day and saw this unique place that sells breakfast, wraps, pizza, juices, and coffee was open! So happy we did! The atmosphere is great with guitars all hanging on the wall and specially curated art on the walls! The beer options were great with local breweries on tap, Seven Devils, Arch Rock, and others. They offered vegetarian friendly options that was delicious and a special menu for Thanksgiving options! I have the chicken Shepard's pie and sweet potato marshmallow skillet! They front patio with a walk up window is a great idea and drive through window is another plus! They seriously are the spot to visit while traveling on hwy 101! They even have live music with a great stage!
Mashall S — Google review
Cool place! Pretty understated...until... you get to hear the music and get a chance to have a really good chance to look around. There are guitars and instruments everywhere. Even on the ceiling! The music that I heard was basically 3 guys having a jam session. Started around 7 pm. No vocals, just guitar, bass and drums. The food is simple but hit the spot. I had a veggie wrap and husband had a custom pizza. Wraps and pizzas is basically what they offer. Recommended for somewhere fun!
Angela G — Google review
I’ve seen some good music here, and on the coast you kind of accept that there aren’t many good places to eat, but man oh man, the pizza is just awful. It’s all I can think of when anyone brings up the idea of going there. I get that pizza is a people pleaser for most folks…but if it’s all you do it should at least be decent or passable. Guys, just make PB&Js. Or corn dogs. Or just invest a little in improving the one thing you serve to eat. It’s such a cool venue with heaps of potential.

Amazing little place Stopped on with my husband. He has been wanting to stop by forever and finally we did. Amazing food, best deep fried mushrooms I've ever had, pizza was very good. Great atmosphere, listening to the locals and their friendly banter was hilarious. Can't wait to go back. Bartender was great. Make sure you buy him a drink 😂

We just left the salty dawg I never know what to expect when trying out someplace new to eat. The food so delicious, It’s a cute little bar, but it’s not just your average bar food. They have a really delicious food. I got a grilled chicken BLT The chicken was so flavorful so yummy and the bacon was just how I love it crispy and delicious. The onion rings are probably some of the best I’ve eaten so tasty. My husband said his burger was Super flavorful, sweet potato fries are amazing. The price is fantastic especially for the amount of food you receive . The bartender/waitress was very nice very hospitable. 100% recommend.

What a fun stop on your Oregon coast trip drive/stay. Some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Food is fresh and thoughtfully made (not a bunch of fried frozen stuff) make this place a home away from home on your vacation and enjoy a small town friendly bar hangout.

REVIEW UPDATE: I'm upgrading my review here after another visit for the following reasons... Their pizza, specifically the artichoke chicken with white sauce is outstanding. Also, I had much better interactions with the employees than I did my previous visit. We all have our "off days", and maybe previously the bartender was having a rough day, and for some accountability, maybe I was as well. Recently, when I went in, the food was outstanding, the service top notch, and every single other customer friendly. Keep in mind, this is not fast food... do not expect it to show up in a hurry... but when it arrives it's high quality - I feel you do get what you pay for here which is far from common these days. This is a solid choice if you're looking for a place to spend your money in Port Orford. Original Review: I spent the last week in Port Orford and have really enjoyed the community. There are several options for food in the area and The Salty Dog is a great choice. I've had several meals here over the course of a few nights and most of it was surprisingly good. The atmosphere is one I'm more comfortable in, a dive bar - with loud music, mostly-friendly locals, gambling machines, pool, and a patio to get some fresh air on. The place is consistently busy pretty much from open to close. This is a true dive bar in all the best ways possible. Old, homey interior with signs lining the walls either advertising booze products or with goofy sayings. The one that hangs above the register says "Men: No Shoes No Shirt No Service -- Women: No Shirt Free Drinks." The atmosphere feels familiar, and if smoking was still allowed inside I could only imagine the smell of this place. The pizza was wonderful... as was the burger I ordered - expensive but one of the few occasions that you actually get your money worth on the coast. The cooks are doing their jobs well and the food reflects that. Overall, I do suggest this as a stop if you are passing through. Will be back. Thank you Salty Dawg and to the employees as well.

Portside Market and Cafe is a hometown cafe located in Port Orford, Oregon, serving traditional breakfast and lunch options. The town itself is the oldest on the Oregon coast and the westernmost town in the continental U.S., making it a unique destination for travelers. Whether you're a family, fisherman, or couple looking for places to stay and dine, there are various choices available to cater to different preferences.
This restaurant was one of the highlights of my Oregon coast trip with my 8 year old son! Our server Brittany was such a kind, genuine person. She's clearly a skilled server but what stood out the most was her ability to connect with all her customers, including my son (and his banana slug stuffie 😊). It was an exceptional dining experience from the delicious food to the hospitality. Mickey the cook did a wonderful job on my classic breakfast, especially the bacon. I wish we lived in the area so we could come back! We also stopped by the market side and once again were greeted with kindness and helpfulness. Thank you for everything!

I hate this whole "5 star" review thing. In 2025, there's s.o. much more to the food out there.....let's dive in. This small market "deli" is phenomenal. If you're in the area you have two choices.... Sit down for some grub (like I said, closes at 2 for sit down)OR (my option here) take it to go and find one of the dozens of beautiful overlooks to eat at, this place is a must stop. And here's why....their "grab and go" burritos are made in house and kept in a warmer, on the market side, ready for you to pick up and haul out. Got a minute, but not so long as to be served? Then order a deli sandwich, YOUR WAY. It won't disappoint or leave you feeling ripped off. Their sandwiches are a "no joke". W/ that said, this place uses average meats, cheeses and breads, but makes up for it in flavor! If you're down w a "naughty meal", then bless you and you m.u.s.t. stop here. If you're hung up on "grass fed" this, "organic that" and this oil vs that oil, then motor on. For me, my naughty meal awaits in in Port Orford Hope this help

My wife and I were visiting from Salt Lake City, Utah, and this place was a Highlight. Absolutely found Joseph, his wife Tori, and her father to be absolutely delightful! The sandwiches were amazing. The breakfast was delicious and I don’t think we have ever encountered such friendly, attentive customer service. It was a delight eating there and speaking with them. Will absolutely recommend and definitely will come back. Thank you very much!

I was in the mood for eggs this morning and we came upon this little cafe. Their Denver omelet is the best I've ever had, so flavorful, I don't think I've ever had one this good! The prices are great, service is amazing, atmosphere is very pleasant! Worth driving past other places to get to this one!

I will say, the outside of this cafe and deli is very bland; the kind you want to pass by when driving. Don't make that mistake! I ordered a 12" sub sandwich and it was, quite possibly, the best I've ever had. I ended up sharing it with my friend, since it was so big. I regret that I didn't take a picture.

I LOVE IT HERE! Everyone goes above and beyond from the food to the service. I will always stop here when I’m in town. Even if the cafe is out of something they have gone out of their way to accommodate my diet and make sure I have a great experience. The deli on the market side is fresh and delicious! Or for a sit down experience try the cafe side for fantastic breakfast or lunch.

We stopped for breakfast on a Sunday morning. I had the ham scramble & my wife had the eggs benedict special. Both dishes were good & service was fast. The waitress never smiled at us & practically had a frown. She smiled at the local patrons but never even checked on us once we got our food. Sorry, but we won't be back.

I'm not one to say these things lightly. The service was exceptionally good. We were helped by three if not four people who are all exceptional and the food was also very very good. We had the fish and chips, the chowder and a burger, all of which were very good. The atmosphere is very cool. Almost like being at a Disney themed type of place.

This was a great stop while driving the coast. My husband and I split the clam chowder and fish and chips basket. They even gave us a second basket to make it easy to share. I make it a goal to try these 2 items at every seafood restaurant and theirs was good. The restaurant is an obvious favorite with locals and had a friendly vibe with the tourists. Highly recommend.

Terrific lunch! Huge menu with lots of options! Excellent customer service and cool atmosphere!! BACK for their Sunday Brunch!! Incredible!! Delightful menu!! Really creative. Not your average breakfast offerings- truly unique. The bennys are terrific & waffle too!

The names of the dishes gave me a smidgen of what to expect, but the peeps there sold it. When they are comfortable enough to chat you up, but it doesn't feel like an act, you know you got a good place. Food was great, prices very reasonable, and they have swag to buy. Pic shown: Captains Wheel Edit: Its been a couple of months and still thinking about that delicious food, and talking about it

Service was great, very attentive servers. The issue was with a very limited menu. Basically burgers, fish and chips (although they were out when we were there), calamari, and a limited salad bar. They also had special menus on Monday and Tuesday. They do have a kids menu with some limited items.

Great atmosphere and service from Heather. She has such a friendly and kind personality. Clam chowder was on point and solid. Flavorful and good consistently. No bacon in chowder was a plus for my partner who doesn’t eat pork. Wish it had more clams but not disappointing. Fresh rock fish was “boat to belly” Spicy fried cheese curds, fries and clam strips were perfectly cooked and breaded.

Definitely not open this Monday at noon. It's 12:15 and dark, empty and locked. Oh well. I'll go somewhere else I guess.

Gets better and better with each visit. Large portions, salad bar and incredible Taco Tuesday with a wide variety of tacos. Nice atmosphere. I had a low carb burger bowl that had 6 slices of super thick bacon and doubled up on the burger patties over a bed of mixed salad greens. More than I could eat!

Signs are hard to see so check out the pictures so you recognize it before you pass by! It’s worth the Stop 🔥 we popped in quickly as we made our way up the coast, fantastic food, great staff (they even let us order breakfast a few minutes after the lunch menu started BUT if you do ask make sure they haven’t started cooking any lunch yet) and they were so fast!

Great, small breakfast and lunch cafe in Port Orford. Friendly service. Food is made from scratch with quality ingredients. Eggs had that nice organic orange yolk color. Very nicely decorated in an eclectic fashion. Eggs over medium were cooked correctly! Sausage gravy was good as was their red salsa.

This is a great small cafe serving breakfast and lunch. They have plenty of inside seating, and a couple of outside seats for nice weather or if you bring your dog. We both had the BBQ pulled chicken sandwich, it had just the right amount of BBQ, so we could taste the rest of the sandwich. yumm! A Couple of mild Peppercini rings are on top as well as a small amount of slaw or cabbage, but it can be removed f wanted. Service was great, not too many questions, just right. Food was warm, served fast, and correct. The salad was fancy lettuce leafs and spinach, with Vinaigrette dressing. That was not huge, but it was enough. Overall a great local place. It has a really small sign, look for the yellow building and the sign at about waist level. Worth a u-turn. 😀

Our table had the chicken fried steak, a southwest bowl, and coffees. Everything was great! The coffee was delicious, the food was quality, and I think I could eat the southwest bowl every day for the rest of my life and be happy. The portions were perfect as well, we left completely satisfied and not bogged down for a day of coast exploring.

My boyfriend and I were exploring the Port Orford area last weekend and this little osasis was recommended by the next door bike shop owner so we gave it a try. Very surprised and super happy they could modify some of their menu items to be vegan for me! Delicious! Love the greens they use. Cute, relaxed vibe. Owners very friendly. Outside dining available. We came back the next day for more. Thanks for the good eats!!!

Oke let's talk about hidden Gems. So the surrounding nature is beautiful and has some hidden gems however if we talk about food this is the biggest most surprising one. After a long day of hiking and spending outdoor we were in the market for some good food. Initially we had our mind set on RedFish. Ones we took a look inside the restaurant we saw that we were way underdressed (dirty hiking clothes and backpacks). Time for plan B, seeing it was getting late around 730pm we did not have much choice left so we set our sight on The Nest Cafe. We walked in and were greeted by super friendly server and straight up got an good vibe. As it was a cafe and we are foodies we automatically weren't expecting anything special for food wise, maybe just the standard burger and finger food. However surprise!! It started when we read the menu card which we got served at our table. The menu card made us look twice, it had Pork Belly, Duck, Lamb ravioli etc. After careful consideration and an amazing smell from the kitchen we chose the above three dishes. To say the least we were blown away! Our amazement only became more when we took a peak in the kitchen, it Is nothing more then something you would see in your average house. Hats off to both the amazing server and the talented chef! Kudo's! If you are in the area definitely try it out :) If you are not convinced yet just take a look at the photos ;)

Ashleigh T — Google review
The service was very friendly and helpful offering hike ideas and info on the local area, and the food was delicious. We had the Lamb Hash which was amazing, the Huevos Ranchero which was really good, and the kids had French Toast which wasn't on the menu but they offered to make. My kids are incredibly picky eaters so unfortunately they didn't eat a bit of it because there was no whipped cream or fresh fruit, but I thought it was delicious. We also had one of the fruit smoothies, the strawberry banana mango. Again the kids didn't like it, but I enjoyed it. They have drip coffee in a big thermos in the back that's self serve with either mugs or to go cups. If eating in you order first at the counter and then sit at your table and pay at the end, busing your own table, bin in the back.

We were on a roadtrip on the coast and stopped at this perfect and simple place. We’ve been welcomed by a very nice woman. They propose sandwiches, burgers, brunch, and have also veggies meals. Needed some supplies when we were in town here for a vacation and this was the only store available. It was well stocked had lots of stuff that you don't usually see had a grocery store and was fairly busy. Prices were a little bit higher than a normal grocery store but not too crazy. I did notice a giant hole in the ceiling with a bunch of mold around it from a leak which was pretty gross.

I like going to Ray’s but there’s always an older women her name is Sam and she always has a terrible attitude. My first time there she tried ridiculing me in front of other customers by asking if I was going to pay with EBT. I don’t understand why she even did that for. Other than that I everyone else is nice and makes small talk with me and don’t make any rude comments about my payment method. She needs to go through training on how to properly treat customers.

Friendly cashier's, such a variety of vegan choices. Fresh deli meats , hot food, organic fresh is super pricey..garden ready flowers, they even have a fisherman / camping isle. Baking pastries at front entrance. Not to mention the hot grill tri tip in front of store .The store is expensive compared to other stores ..but I buy vegan from Ray's .It is a employee owned business is what I hear.

Amongst other reasons why you should not shop here..... Tami was the checkers name.. a nice young "black" gentleman with 3 "less than normally" active girls for the ages between 9 months and 7 yrs stood before me. We had brief pleasant conversation, as they had just moved here from Portland. As he finished checking out, "Tami the checker" says in an unusually loud voice... "I will refund you the bag fee, because you are using EBT.." As it came to be my turn, she says to me... "I just get drained when kids like this are so active" what??? Where is this comment coming from? Are you looking for my approval for your maybe racist or just insensitive comment for a young family trying to survive? Get real lady. They did nothing more than buy some basics food supplies (not ribeye steak and ice cream)... I'm sure the gentleman won't read this, but if you do... try using Sam's checkout next time. She is a sweetheart and sensitive.

Decent sized grocery store selling all food stuff, some wine, beer, etc. We reached the town around 7 pm, and the restaurants were already closed. This grocery store was a life saver. We bought some cold sandwiches, garlic bread, eggs, juice, etc. We were able to get dinner and breakfast stuff. It is an employee owned business, as printed on their grocery bags. Employees were very pleasant and helpful. We stayed around that area for one night, so we did not visit again.

We had such a great experience here. The manager Tim was so friendly, kind and accommodating. We arrived with no reservation early evening to check availability. We were fortunate to get a room and we're absolutely blown away by it when we walked in. The view from the living room and solarium was phenomenal. We have come here about five times over the years. This year things have been a bit upgraded. It is a great place for bringing kids and pets. Great view of the beach and the Port Orford warf. Very nice room and kitchen. You can easily walk down to the beach, or just watch it from your room. All rooms have the beachfront view.

Had the pleasure of meeting Tim after speaking with him over the phone to book our reservation. I would choose Castaway again if we ever are in the area. Rest assured, it’s true what you have read, I myself read the reviews before booking our room. The rooms are indeed super clean, it’s not a fancy place that’s true, but it’s not rundown by any means. Our bathroom had recently renovated. Castaway was perfect in my opinion, clean, cozy, amazing views with a private beach and Tim was very nice considering we came very late. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks so much Tim.

We've stayed here a handful of times, and love the location! The townhouse option is great for larger groups, but be careful - someone in our group usually hits their head on the winding metal staircase. Having a kitchen is really nice and the view is amazing.

Beautiful view! Our family of 7 had plenty of space in a townhouse. The kids really enjoyed the sunroom and the spiral staircase, and we all loved listening to the ocean. The same cannot be said for Port Orford itself. Everything was closed. Wanted to take the family for dinner and the only place open was the Salty Dawg. Which ended up having great food, but would order to go next time if we're ever back.

If you're looking for peaceful this is the exact place to be. Their staff is very friendly and on hand anytime should you need something. It's nice to have the privacy of no one entering your room to clean or leave anything. The view is outstanding and the only public place to have a view of the port where they actually sling the boats in. You can view it from your sweet, roomy kitchenette or hike a small hill or drive there within a minute to be on the beach the rocks jutting from the sea and the whales coming into the bay are a plus. Your literally 2 blocks from quaint downtown and all the eateries. It's wonderful!!

On our return journey from Gold Beach, we past Port Orford again. We drove up and down Hwy 101 looking for a place to eat lunch and finally chose The Honey House Cafe. This is a nice little house turned into a cosy cafe. The menu is on a chalk board. They make the most awesome buttermilk blue berry pancake. In fact, it was so good we decide to come back from Bandon for a late breakfast the next day. They also promised yeast risen waffles for Saturday. I regret choosing that and missed out on a chance to taste the chewy pancakes again as the waffles were dry and not very special. On the first day, I also had a great salad with a wonderfully diverse variety of vegetables. But when I ordered salad again the next day, I only got leaves which was a great disappointment. The sausage patties were awesome, very tasty. They also sell local honey which was the most delicious honey I've tasted. This would be the place that we would visit regularly if we were staying close by.

If you're in Port Orford, Oregon, make sure to stop by Pho 101 Asia & Beyond for an authentic taste of Vietnamese cuisine. This charming eatery offers a delightful array of dishes that will transport your taste buds straight to Vietnam. Indulge in their signature pho, a traditional noodle soup that's simply irresistible.
Very clean and lovely space. Contemporary decor makes a nice touch, though I wish there was a bit more to the tables; they're fairly bland and could use a pop of color or an accent. Not much of a view at night, but during the day its lovely. Food is fantastic, other than the one hair I found at the bottom of my plate of linguini. Egg rolls are a must, the sauces they come with compliment the rolls in a unique way. The salty of the roll and the sweet, yet spicy of the sauce make an absolutely wonderful pair. On the plate with it, fresh cucumber and iceberg lettuce. Both absolutely fantastic as a palate cleanser. The al dante linguini with sausage, tomatoes, and shrimp made for a tasty finish. The noodles not too soft, not too hard; the shrimp cooked to perfection. The sausage was just a little overdone, but I do enjoy the variety of textures. The Vietnamese Iced coffee. Oh the iced coffee. What a fabulous option to have as a drink on the menu. The lovely waitress will bring it to you as its still filtering through , combining ever so slightly with the sweetener they use. It's a sight I haven't seen in a long while. The bitterness of the coffee, the sweetness of the cream, the ice, all mixed together make an absolute treat. The staff is very attentive and enjoy pleasing all who come in. All in all, PHO 101 is a quaint little restaurant that I do look forward to coming to again in the near future.

We had Pho Ga (chicken soup) garnished with lime, bean sprouts and a generous portion of Thai Basil. Ga Ca Ri a spicy, creamy curry chicken with white rice and a cabbage slaw with a tangy vinaigrette dressing. (Pretty spicy) Kali Toa which is a spicy Indo-Fijian curry brazed chicken prepared bone in with some great flavored spices... Came with a side of chutney and two pieces of roti bread. All in all it is a great addition to the small town of Port Orford. Why only 4 stars? I would be more excited about the Kali Toa if there was more meat and less bone, my serving was half bone/half meat. Look foreword to the next visit.

The meats were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and had a great texture. The brisket was tender and smoky, the pork belly was juicy, and the ribs and tri-tip were well-seasoned and satisfying. The sides complemented the meal perfectly. The mac & cheese was creamy and rich, the chowder was comforting, and both the biscuit and cornbread were soft and flavorful. Fantastic experience! If you’re in Gold Beach and craving barbecue, this place is definitely worth a stop.

Fast, friendly service with good attention after the food was delivered. Every dish we had was great, especially loved the pulled pork sandwich. Mozzarella sticks were fresh and hot.

From the sweet tea to the corn bread this southern gal approves! We had a 3 meat 2 sides combo. The chicken thigh, brisket, and pulled pork are cooked to perfection. The barbecue sauce will make you drool! There's something different in it, couldn't quite place my finger on it, but delicious. The Mac n cheese was to die for! I wish they had a recipe book and a restaurant closer to Hillsboro. Our server was sweet and great with the kiddos. Don't miss out on this gem.

We had an amazing experience at this barbecue place! We tried a fresh salad and four different kinds of meat, and everything was absolutely delicious. The aroma from the wood-fired smoker was incredible, and it made the whole meal feel so special. This is real, wholesome, and flavorful food, cooked with love. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates authentic, healthy, and tasty barbecue!

Was running late and wanted a burger and blam,Gold Beach BBQ. That burger was juicy and full of flavor. It was just the right size and hit the spot. Their BBQ sauce is wonderful, and you want to drink it. The staff and owner (pit master) were kind and friendly and helpful. I will return.

I've been looking for some good BBQ and found this place online while I was about 30 miles away. I drove the 30 miles in my little RV and struggled to find easy parking. Not exactly their fault... the lot behind the building has plenty of spots just not big and long spots - a hot tip for RVers who want to eat here is that the shut down old Dairy Queen up the road has plenty of parking... which makes for a short walk to the establishment. Having never been into this place before, I was slightly confused about how to approach the counter. Everyone in the building was seated but I wanted to order my food to go. A youngster with blonde hair and blue eyes explained the ropes to me in a friendly manner. I could be seated and be served or I could order my food to go at the counter. I decided to give it a go based on the reviews and ordered about 50 bucks worth of food. I ordered a half rack of ribs and a full pound of brisket... as well as a small drink. Also left a nice tip for the friendly service. The place isn't cheap but not many restaurants these days can be described as such - let alone one specializing in meats. I get it. My only hope was that I would get what I paid for. Getting my meal into my RV I decided to dig in. The half rack of ribs were just that... felt like I got the small end of the rack sadly - but they were still good ribs. I'm usually a feind for good BBQ sauce and will slather it on everything - but I ate these ribs with just the dry rub that came on them. I was NOT disappointed by the taste or texture. They were well cooked - and the seasoning was on point. Some seasoning chunks were a little thick and got stuck in my teeth but that was easy to fix. The 1lb of brisket was cooked perfectly. This is how you want your brisket cooked. HOWEVER! There is such a thing in this BBQ world as ordering your brisket "LEAN" which I forgot to do... the 1lb of brisket came out about 25 - 30% fat capped. Brisket is a fatty cut of meat and this was my fault for not being specific to what I wanted. It was 30 bucks for the lb - and so I basically paid 10 bucks for fat on top of my brisket. Lesson learned and not the establishments fault. 2/3 of that brisket was absolutely fire and I really do look forward to returning and getting a lb of lean brisket from these folks. Finally, I want to give a shout out to the owner. I don't know his name but I knew it was him. He was a tall, older gentleman - and he was going from table to table asking customers how their food was... and if they needed refills on their drinks. Geez... can you imagine if this was standard practice in our restaurants. I was blown away by a man who obviously has a successful business, and most likely all the money he needs because of it, going out of his way to give solid customer service. After witnessing this, even if the food wasn't good, I would have supported this place. He is older... you can tell his body probably doesn't move like it did when he was younger - but he's still out here offering to get his customers drink refills. Salute to you sir... a massive salute to you. You run a business how it should be run and I left with not only an appreciation for the food here - but also with a massive amount of respect for how this man cares about his business. You sir are a legend of an owner. Also, a shout out to a manager named John. I actually called in this morning to get some clarification on things - like if lean brisket was an option... and the parking solutions in the area. He was very helpful. Look forward to meeting you on my next visit John. All in all... this was a very worthy effort - a very worthy 50 bucks spent. I didn't eat everything in one sitting as I'm not quite fat enough to do so yet. I ate about half of what I got and then made sandwiches of the rest. BBQ is not cheap - good food is not cheap... if you're going to spend your hard earned money on good food - this is a good place to do it. See you all again soon.

Well well, where do I start. While visiting the little beach town, my wife and I decided to stay the night here and venture around. At the end of our first day, we decided to try this place. Man, oh man, we were so surprised! First, the cozy home feeling of the atmosphere as we walk in, then the excellent service from the staff already sealed the deal before we even tried the food. We ordered a 4 meat 3 side deal for $40, and it was plenty for both of us. We got tri tops, dark chicken, pull pork and brisket with steak fries, Mac n cheese, and cheesy corn. EVERYTHING tasted amazing, no, I mean really everything! If you're a local here, you already know, but if you're like me and you're visiting or passing through, I highly recommend you try this food. Top notch, in my opinion.

Shoreline Inn Bistro is a charming and casual dining spot located on the 101 Hwy. It offers creative breakfast and lunch options, with the addition of dinner service on Fridays and Saturdays. Visitors have praised the friendly owners, who provide excellent recommendations for local attractions. The restaurant's cleanliness and appealing decor have also been highlighted.
Drove by this unassuming restaurant and I'm so glad I turned back to dine in. I'm from the north east and this New England clam chowder was hands-down the best I've ever had in my life. The fish is fresh caught from the owners boat and you can absolutely tell. The fish was flaky, tender, and extremely delicious. Don't forget the home made root beer in a frosted glass! I'm devastated I don't live closer, this would absolutely be a place I would visit over and over for both the excellent food and service. Truly the best stop I've made on my PNW road trip!

Stopped here on our way up the coast and it was legitimately one of the highlights of our trip. Fish and chips was fresh off the boat and the clam chowder was divine. Make sure to get the sourdough bread bowl or you will be doing yourself a disservice. Hosts were funny and very attentive despite them being shorthanded.

Don’t be deceived from the outside appearance. The place is great. Has great beers available, the best clam chowder I’ve had on the coast yet , in fact I went across the street and had a bowl of clam chowder at the Red Fish and it wasn’t even close. Shoreline has excellent food, beer and well worth the visit. Sorry, didn’t take any food pics, but after having my fourth bowl of chowder along our drive, had to let ya all know, best chowder on the coast.

Very nice humble place. We received great hospitality and service. We got the lingcod fish and chips and halibut bite, they were amazing. We also had the tuna sandwich very good wild caught. I also loved the coleslaw. Must try fish and chips.

The Shoreline Inn Bistro is a hidden gem in the quiet town of Port Orford. As soon as you open the door, the atmosphere is cool and inviting, beautiful ocean views and crisp clean smell. Our hosts were warm and knowledgeable, making sure we knew all they had to offer. As soon as pulled pork was offered, I knew what I needed. I ordered the Garlic Slayer Cheese Curds (soooo goood),a Teriyaki Pineapple Burger and asked to add the pulled pork…heaven! The flavor was phenomenal. I topped that off with their in-house root beer and I was beyond satisfied. We left with their delicious lava cake and frankly, I’m ready for a nap after being filled with such deliciousness. This will definitely become a regular spot for us!

Alright, now THIS is a hidden gem. Right across the street from the beach and RedFish - way better deal than RedFish and a more down to earth atmosphere. I was greeted by a gentleman when I entered... keep in mind I had just left the Redfish still hungry. I ordered a burger there which came to about 18 bucks without French Fries... I walked into Shoreline just to ask "What kind of BBQ do you have?" in response to a flag waving in the wind outside advertising BBQ. I was told pulled pork sandwiches and ribs... in a leap of faith I ordered a full rack of ribs knowing nothing about their food. This is not a tourist trap - this is a legit spot that knows how to do BBQ. The ribs were fantastic... I HATE chewy bubblegum ribs - these were anything but that. Fantastic rack for a fair price. While I waited I also ordered a stout beer which was so thick and perfect. Could not have been happier and felt like good value particularly after just leaving Redfish. Also could see the ocean from my table the same as I could at the much more expensive and pretentious Redfish. Good stuff Shoreline... new repeat customer. Going back again tonight.

Wow! Don't miss this place. All local ingredients, hand crafted dishes. Fresh fish and good beers! Home-made rootbeer, too... family friendly but also good for a couple rowdy guys who want a burger and a beer. The owner was a super cool guy! This is a gem of a spot you will not be disappointed with.

Healthy options, friendly service, Ocean view. Great variety on the menu. So many places only offer deep fried fish, so I was delighted to find grilled salmon on the daily specials for a very reasonable price. They also had grilled halibut... It was nice to have a choice!

Visiting Port Orford and lucked into finding this gem! Absolutely wonderful! Delicious food, friendly service. My farfalle lemon with spinach was wonderful! My friend has a goat cheese and leek ravioli. The bread was outstanding. And the cheesecake dessert was divine. Can’t recommend it enough.

This dining experience was 10 out of 5 stars from start to finish. In the middle of nowhere Oregon, this restaurant is doing everything right and is worth a trip from anywhere. Excellent cuisine, excellent service, fabulous ambiance. From the fresh focaccia served with drinks, to the home made desserts to finish - everything was excellent. HIGHLY recommend.

All fleshly made items and cooked to order. We travel hours to eat at Cafe Gemma and the food and experience are always superb! Cant recommend strongly enough if you want to slow down and really enjoy the best meal you are likely to find anywhere. And our desserts were as good as we've ever had! Tanti grazie Cafe Gemma!

This place serves very good Italian food but it is not fast. (It’s a small, family operation.) Expect a leisurely meal and you’ll be pleased. The prices are very reasonable, too. Food: mostly pasta dishes, vegetarian friendly, generous portions. Delicious, fresh bread. Good desserts — the ice cream sunday with house-made caramel sauce was delicious. (Other options include cranberry cheesecake and cappuccino cheesecake.)

Amazing little gem in the heart of Port Orford. Food was amazing and the staff was so friendly. Was worried it would be too fancy (we had been on the beaches along the coast all day) but it just felt very homey and comfortable. I will definitely make a point of stopping here when I am in the area again!

We had a lovely time visiting Cafe Gemma and I think it’s my new favorite restaurant in Port Orford. Every dish we had was excellent! You could tell everything was made from scratch. I will absolutely be stopping by again. The mocha coffee was delicious ☕️ and the pasta was some of the best I’ve had in years

Wow, wow, wow. Amazingly good Italian food tucked away in the little town of Port Orford. Be prepared for a bit of a wait with the food - it seems that they are on a small staff. Laura our server was a one woman army who provided amazing service as busy as she was. My wife and I love good food - this place does not disappoint. 5 stars all the way!

A must if in southern Oregon, Bandon or Gold Beach is worth the drive to Port Orford. Gemma's is named after the owner's Grandmother's and are her recipes. The owner Maurisa is the chef! It has the atmosphere of being in someone's home for a special occasion or the holidays. Next time I visit my son I'll be back
