The best restaurant in Nosara. I keep coming back and have tried almost every dish by now, and every single one has been excellent. The prices are very fair, the view is breathtaking, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s also a fantastic place for special events like birthdays or weddings. Highly recommended!

First class hotel with a first class restaurant. We came with a group and stayed at the lodge for 4 nights so we had a chance to eat both breakfast and dinner here. All of the food and service here was awesome.

This restaurant had the best food during our entire stay in Costa Rica. The steak was amazing!! And so was everything else we ordered. Such a romantic location as well and beautiful place to watch the sunset. Servers are friendly (:

Chirriboca offers an absolutely stunning atmosphere and wonderful views. For me it’s truly the most beautiful restaurant in Nosara. Whether you’re coming for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food is consistently delicious. It’s a full experience which is very worth it.

One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Nosara. Chirriboca isn’t just another restaurant in Nosara - it’s truly something special. The view over the jungle and ocean is breathtaking, especially at sunset. The food was excellent - fresh seafood, creative vegetarian options, and probably the best cocktail I had during my entire trip. I’ve been to a few restaurants in Nosara, and this one stands out for the quality, setting, and service. Highly recommend booking ahead if you want one of the best sunset tables. Whether you’re staying at Lagarta Lodge or just exploring restaurants in Nosara, Chirriboca should be on your list. In my opinion, its one of the best Restaurants in Nosara.

We spent two weeks in the wonderful hotel attached to the restaurant. After trying several options in Nosara itself, we decided to dine in for the last few days as it was the best experience in Nosara by far. Being greeted by this incredible view while being served with great drinks and entrées feels incredible. Dinner options are vast and great, so I felt comfortable ordering something new every day. Generally, great experience and a wonderful place to spend every meal of the day (if you do it like we did). Looking forward to coming again!

Chicken with mushroom sauce was fantastic. My wife brought a piece of fresh tuna and it was used to make and two appetizers and a main course. All was excellent

The 2 for the price of 1 cocktails were fruity and boozy and the "chips" with guacamole were actually french fries and not tortilla chips as we were expecting but still yummy with the garlicky guacamole. The lobster special was humungous. I was expecting one lobster but was served two and they were buttery and delicious. The mashed potatoes and cooked vegetables were also well seasoned. Great to have a vegetarian/vegan option that was not a "Beyond Meat" burger patty. My husband ordered the vegan burger (portabello mushroom) which came on a nice bun and with a flavourful side salad. The only down side of our experience was that the running water was not working in the taps outside the washrooms so the server put out a big bowl of water for people to wash their hands. Very friendly service and reasonable prices compared to other restaurants with similar menu items. Would highly recommend this place.

Got the shrimp quesadillas and tamarindo wings. The quesadilla was hefty and wings perfectly sauced. Would get both again!

Great spot! They have nice outdoor seating area that’s breezy and comfortable. I came here for breakfast and got the breakfast burrito which was amazing also their orange juice is so good!

It was a great recommendation from a local when we asked about options for eating Costa Rican dishes in a mostly international cuisine environment, the service and the atmosphere are great. Their octopus ceviche was amazing, if you're in the area give them a try, if you fly to Nosara make it your first place to visit, they are located right next to the airport.

It was DELICIOUS I had a pasta shrimp curry I loved it. My husband had a fried fish I love the présentation of his food,very creative. The waiter was very nice. Good place to relax and eat. PS: bring your repellent because lot of bugs will eat you. If you forget they will borrow you one anyway. Well recommended 👌

So good that we went two nights in a row! Highly recommend the kebab or falafel. The sauces that came with them were fantastic. The pizza was thin and still good, but I’d order the kebabs again first. Good house wine too and great views! If you go during sunset they let you bring your drinks down to the water to enjoy! Cute little shop in the restaurant and dogs roaming around.

The food was amazing! We were there at sunset and the view was spectacular. Service was a little slow, but that poor waitress was running around like crazy doing a bunch of different things, so I don't really fault her for that. The dessert we ordered was absolutely delicious- I highly recommend it!

Beach front breakfast for me. Setting is unequaled, the ocean greats you warmly. Waffles were thick and delicious, side of bacon & eggs was terrific! Priced fair...actually priced more than fair for Nosara, which can be a bit crazy 🤪 Highly recommend!

TLDR - location great, food not worth the price. Start with the good. Great location and amazing sea views. Staff were friendly. Food: The calamares were fine but over cooked. I ordered the Red Snapper and it was a massive disappointment. It tasted strongly of of cooking oil, so much so I couldn’t eat most of it. I told the staff this, they just took away the plates. My wife ordered the shrimp kebab and while the sauces were nice, the shrimps were bland. In conclusion you are paying a lot for pretty average food (if not slightly below average). There are better options, go to the beach for the view and get better food at less cost.

Ordered the beef skewers, they were amazing. Cooked medium rare, juicy and tender. Probably the best skewers I’ve had in a long time. This place is by the beach with an amazing views, really sets the vibe. Service was slow otherwise I would give it a higher rating.

Vibe and sunset were the best part, but this place is sincerely OVERRATED. Food quality was only OKAY, prices were high for the infrequent service we received. The furniture and chairs were also rotting, my fit surfer boyfriend fell through his chair. I will say though, I got wasted off one St Germain Spritz and that was awesome. My recommendation? Go get dinner at a local Costa Rican soda and then go watch the sunset on the beach at Playa Pelada and you’ll have a much more satisfying and authentic experience.

The atmosphere is what this place has going for it. It was beautiful. Sadly the food was not all that. Minimal menu and very overpriced. The bathroom was awful as well. I waited so long for a water refill that I could barely swallow because I was so parched. It is not an authentic Costa Rican venue, it is very Americanized. I was disappointed!

If you’re looking for a vegan options, they have plenty, and the location is great. It’s clearly a very popular spot! Very hot though like all open air places in Nosara. There are some fans, but you have to ask to have them directed towards you. We got the tacos and I got the buffalo chicken sandwich which was pretty good. We really loved the fries. They were the best part and are coded in some sort of batter to make them extra crispy. We got the watermelon drink, which was very refreshing. Recommend for anyone who’s on the beach and needs a quick place to drop in and eat lunch.

The server was so friendly and welcoming! The host was professional, but the arrival of food was extremely slow. We waited over 45 minutes to get our orders. The pasta was delicious after adding a pinch of salt. The papas supreme was really filling, but good! Most nights offer live music and the vibe is laidback and relaxed. I would definitely recommend visiting here at least once (or twice) on your visit to Santa Theresa.

I ordered the VEGAN unbelievable big mack burger with a delivery service, it cost more than what was written in the menu. When it arrived it was a MEAT patty with bacon. I asked the delivery service to resolve this, but the restaurant was not willing to do anything about it…. Terrible experience! Never again!

Great vibes here and my green goddess salad was good and fresh but a bit heavy on the dressing. Tip for this place, they seat you down but then you go to the counter to order and pay, this made me uncomfortable leaving my stuff alone so I choose to go instead and went down to the beach to eat and enjoy the surf.

Beach Dog Cafe was close to our lodging so it was recommended to us. We all enjoyed our meals, but the portion sizes are so small we left feeling hungry still.

Everything was excellent! Great place to stop after some beach time. We had a watermelon smoothie that was refreshing and delicious! You gotta try the fish tacos! Soooo tasty. Can’t wait to go back to try the ceviche!

Insanely good food, super friendly service, chill location to have a beverage or food, and nice location right off the beach. We had them cook our catch also. We will be back!

Guys, don’t sleep on this place. It may look like not much from the outside, but it’s so tasty and authentic. True Costa Rican homemade cuisine. The portions are also a great size for the price. Have eaten here multiple times. The cooks and servers are very friendly too. Suggestion, be patient. It’s a small kitchen, but well worth the wait.

Ate here for lunch everyday during 4 days stay for true Costa Rican casado - meat w rice and beans an salad. Fish is fresh, well cooked, and well seasoned. Fresh juice is great. Most reasonable prices in the area. Right by main road and by entrance to the break. Friendly server.

Been here a few times and always had a wonderful breakfast. Today was rice and scrambled eggs. Love to eat some other things at the locals eat. Also had a wonderful iced coffee. Wonderful staff will be back!

Great menu, great service and great location. I have a hard time with star ratings for these types of experiences. Relative to what we had in Nosara, it is a 5 star experience.

Good food and decent service. They forgot one meal and didn’t have time to wait another 25 minutes for them to make another plate. Chicken wings were just ok. But overall good place to eat.

Salad bowl is tasteless and overpriced. The tofu wasn't cooked, the dressing was bland and the ingredients I could chose from for the salad came only in very small portions.

Looked like a great outdoor eating atmosphere so I stopped here for lunch and tried the fish and chips. The portion of fish was generous and had a nice, light fry. The fish had more of a fishy taste than I expected. Tasted more like tilapia than cod or haddock. Great service and atmosphere! Planning on returning to try some different dishes.

My poke bowl was okay, my girlfriend had a salad, where the tofu wasn't even cooked. With the additional 23%, the food has swiss prices whitout the quality I am used to.

Very disappointing. We came here as it was recommended by our B&B and had great reviews online. The beer was massively overpriced (7$), more expensive than in the States! After paying CR prices everywhere that was the biggest shock of it all. The fish tacos were inedible, and even after we barely touched them and said we didn't like them, the staff didn't even react, just asked us if we want them wrapped up to go?? They were even a little bit rude about it. The tuna poke was good, big enough for a main course. The chips that came with the chicken fingers were doughy and tasteless as soon as they cooled down a little bit. The foccacia which was the side to the tuna poke was the highlight of the meal.

I visited Orgánico Bakery twice during my stay in Nosara because the matcha latte was delicious—especially when served hot. I also ordered a brownie and the lavender carrot cake to go, and both were incredibly tasty. This place is an excellent option for anyone looking for vegan, gluten-free treats made with high-quality ingredients. The best part, though, was the service—the girl who helped me was so kind and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Excellent place to enjoy a snack or meal - food and service very good, and a free large pool that the children loved and no one seemed precious about. Only negative is that the pool area felt a little unloved (we were near the basketball court) which felt a bit off brand for this place.

I went there yesterday and had a fabulous coffee and fubo rancheros which is the best! My friend had the breakfast bowl which was amazing. Everything there is really great. The people are super nice. The prices are great, super good location, easy and easy out. Everything is the best.

This review is for the restaurant. Fish tacos were fantastic. Not sure why it gets a 4.4. Service was great and the boys had good ol’ hamburgers and were happy.

They have SOME great food items, and their sourdough is my favourite in the area. But my god is this place over priced… I get that it’s not cheap to run a business in Nosara, but some of their prices seem just over the top.

Love the food - healthy and superfood based menu, really yummy, gluten free options were amazing, staff were helpful in answering questions about my travels, and it’s a nice atmosphere.

Exquisite surroundings and warm welcoming service. We tried the special on the board a lobster risotto which was delicious. I would describe this closer to a cheesy rice but in the best way possible. I wish they had broken up the lobster piece a bit more in the kitchen as it was very hard to handle the super spiny shell but I still managed to get the claw mean out. Was it absolute carnage while eating it? Yes. We also got ceviche of course, nice light lime fresh fish with patacone and a simple pepperoni pizza. I didn't think I would eat as much pizza as I did in this town but it's amazing. Fire roasted loaded with a nice moz and pepperoni.

Tuesday night is Latin dance night and its a must do. Gets going around 730, picks up later. National beers are cheap & cold and the atmosphere is chill, but a nice party vibe flows thru the dance floor!

This place was such an amazing find! The atmosphere is beautiful , earthy , warm. The menu is so big with lots of different choices . We were a group of seven and had pizza and pastas. Everything was so tasty! The service was fantastic. Definitely recommend !

Pizza was not bad, Carbonara mediocre in my opinion. The fish what we ordered in the end never came, they said there was some issue in the kitchen so in the end we cancelled it. Its an okay place to eat here, was decent but nothing extra.

Would I go back? 4 stars. On occasion for the pizza, but would get the tuna carpaccio every single time! Vibe: 5 stars. nice place. Lots of space for people. Bakery, juice bar, and breakfast food truck mornings to afternoons. 2 super friendly cats may or may not have gotten some tuna from us. Value: 5 stars. Pizza big enough for two with leftovers and a huge tuna carpaccio appetizer. Staff: 5 stars. Great service and our waiter was happy to practice some Spanish with us.

Lovely restaurant with attentive service and great atmosphere! We split a large pizza and had leftovers. It was hand-tossed and wood fired and the best pizza I’ve had in Costa Rica since moving here a year ago.

This place was so delicious! Got a burger and the caprese pizza. Both were amazing. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Pina coladas were also fantastic!

The food was good. Service wasn't the greatest. The only staff they had was one server and one cook. Took a very long time to get anything. It was very hot and humid. Dining room is outside. We finally had to get up and get a pitcher of water ourselves after waiting over 15 minutes for it. It was a bit overpriced for the quality and flavor. It was not what we expected and hoped for considering it came highly recommended.

WOW! So enjoyed our Christmas meal at Pacifico Azul. Super popular dining location in Guiones. We now know why! Amazing and festive atmosphere. Loved all the vegetation and lights. So many areas to sit and enjoy a tasty meal. Our hotel staff recommended the gambas/shrimp. Wow. So delicious. From the appetizers to the dessert everyone was super satisfied with our meals. Service was efficient friendly and quick. Highly recommend this place. .

I enjoyed dining at Pasific Azul restaurant for dinner. • No kids around • Peaceful around 6 pm. • However, ventilation could be improved as it tends to get a bit warm. • The staff is exceptionally friendly and creates a fun atmosphere. • The food is delicious, though not overly fancy, making it a more laid-back dining spot

The pasta was ok but the portions of the sea food was laphable. I cought a bigger crab on the beach in the shore break! If you’re looking for quality sea food try your luck some where else. We also ordered a regular birder and salad. The burger was too spicy to eat. We we ended up throwing away what u c in the pic. There are way better places to eat I don’t recommend waste your time with this place. Good luck!

This spot is spacious but still chill, and feels outside the hustle and bustle of other parts of Guiones beach. The food was amazing and portions were super generous. Staff were all lovely and helpful! We showed up at about 6 and were seated without a reservation which we really appreciated.

We had them prepare the yellow fin tuna and Mahi Mahi we caught that day; they did an amazing job preparing the fish and offered delicious sides to go with it. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Very nice accommodations and atmosphere.

When we arrived we were a little sceptical since nobody else was having dinner but we were early at around 5pm. They had neatly written daily specials on the board and we went with a standard tuna tartar. It came with mango, avocado and grated carrots in a soy-garlic sauce and was very delicious. It was the best one we had so far in Costa Rica. The main dish was mahi mahi mediterranean style, which was a fish covered with tomato base with a large shrimp and a few clamps with 2 sides of choice. It was really tasty and the sauce prevented mahi mahi from being too dry. The other dish was grilled mahi mahi with shrimp skewers in a wasabi sauce. It was also very delicious. All pieces of the dish including the cooked veggies were freshly prepared and still hot when served. They had mango margarita on the menu but I decided against it as it would have been served in a whiskey glass. Not sure why but this is the second restaurant lately that does it. I know it's the same taste but you taste with eyes first.

Great food and service with a nice chill environment. Definitely a pleasant experience with gluten free options most importantly! They were also able to tell me whether there was soy or coconut in the dishes. It's worth the visit!

Stopped in for late night snack and ordered the Chicken Burritio which came quick and hot! The flavor was DELICIOUS… make sure to ask for Salsa Picante to level up the heat!

Great margaritas, food was fresh. The tacos were all good and if you have a picky eater or kids, the chicken tenders were delicious and fresh. Went before the lunch rush but still a tad slow delivering first set of drinks how fast you get it in the states. Just enjoy being in Costa Rica with fresh everything and don’t be a typical American and want everything on demand. ☺️

We stopped here for some drinks after a day of diving in Samara. Not much else was open and this seemed like a good enough spot. The atmosphere was perfect, and we split an app and a bottle of wine. The only think that put me off was that they didn't have an ice bucket for our chilled bottle of white wine. Not a huge deal and we'd go back for sure. Burrito was very good! The Agua frescas were mostly ice and not much juice, so I wouldn’t say it’s worth it but the homemade tortillas and guacamole were delicious.

I came with my family today ordered different drinks limonade that tasted horrible, passion fruits drinks that tasted like sugar and water had to request the waiter to pour some pulps to try to improve the flavor , my husband burrito was horrible, the kids rice from the casados were not fresh ( my two years old couldn’t eat it) my 16 years old forced her self to eat half and the cherry 🍒 on the pie was the dessert a coconut flan 🍮 that was passed due, it was sour almost vomited 🤮 luckily I didn’t swallowed it I could have been intoxicated, after 20 minutes wait Walter came to apologize for the inconvenience and after listening to what we had to say he offered a commercial gesture. It’s sad because we had good expectations of a tacos night 😞. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s rainy seasons but it’s not correct to serve people bad food conditions. This is not about the money, it’s the principle of serving food in good conditions with quality. Hopefully this is just one event and not something that happens often.

We only had one night in Nosara and were really hoping for a nice dinner and boy did we score! This place is fantastic. I haven’t had this good of Italian food since I was in Italy. We wished we had more time in Nosara to go back for a second time. The staff is so friendly and the owner as well. My brother had the lasagna, I tried a bite and we both agreed it was the best lasagna we have had in our lives. My cousin had the pasta that had mussels in it and said it was amazing. I had the lobster ravioli and was more than impressed. All delightful. Highly recommend eating at this place.

Whenever we go on a big fishing trip with our friends, we always end our trip at an Italian restaurant wherever we are. We always ask around and research for the best. Oh my goodness, this place hands down is the best ever. Fabulous. My recommendation is to eat Tico food for breakfast and lunch and go here every night for dinner. We wish we would have gone here the first night rather than the last. The prices are outstanding for the quality of food and service. Roberto is a hidden gem near the shores of Costa Rica.

Do not miss this Italian gem! Authentic, freshest seafood and the Diablo pasta is killer! There is no lasagna like Roberto’s! The fresh bread crisps and garlic dip is phenomenal. You get personalized service with a smile and always a loyal Salud! Roberto takes a well deserved break now and again and May 2023 resting so call ahead and make sure he is open! Well worth the trip! Ambiance is magnificent. Super fancy or totally casual- he welcomes them all and adjusts accordingly!

This is a must visit every year, but we made it twice this trip. Love the foccacia, cheese board, and a good wine selection. The lobster is always a hit, salads are fresh, and no one has ever had an average meal. Roberto, the owner is the best. Great service as well.

La Dolce Vita was an all around great dining experience. From talking to the friendly staff to meeting the owner and having even his wife wait on us was truly remarkable. As soon as we got there - we were treated as family. Great recommendations were made on meals and their off menu specials were some of the best dishes we have had at an Italian restaurant. The bread / dipping oils that were brought out at first were excellent followed up by great drinks. All the pastas are made in house with real Italian ingredients that are imported to Costa Rica. Not to mention the amazing Burrata we had to start. We recommend going and will be back for sure!! Thanks Dolce Vita team for the great memories!!

We have been coming to Nosara for 10 Years and this is one of the best, most unspoiled, authentic restaurants around. If you’re craving delicious, comforting & exquisite Italian food, look no further. The owner Roberto and his staff are delightful and the food is made with love. A true gem. 22 years in business is proof. Cash only.

AMAZING FRESH FOOD, not the fastest service, but worth the wait as we were socializing until the food arrived! Also told that it's got the best Arroz con Pollo. Dishes below are Camarones Ajillo(garlic) with a white wine butter sauce for dipping & the Jalapeno Carne... Both Delicious!

Great stop for typical Costa Rican food.

We visited El Manglar Restaurant last Thursday and absolutely loved it! It was recommended by our nearby hotel since it’s open to the public. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home! The cocktails were fantastic—try the one with mezcal and tamarindo! For dinner, we had the tuna bowl, which was incredibly fresh, and the fish with shrimp. As a bonus, they had yucca fries, my favorite! It happened to be pouring rain that night, but it only added to the cozy vibe of the place. Highly recommended!

1st of if you are not a cat person don’t go there.It was also a very unappealing area, probably the rain had a play in that too but anyway! Mr Owner honestly if I were you I would provide more training on customer service that way your team would be able to handle any type of concerns in your absence. I guess they also couldn’t accept the fact that they would have been serving customers with different skin tone . Mr owner if you were present that night you would have tried your best to accommodate our family, because you want your business to have a good return .They did not care cause they earning their pay regardless . They acted like we were there to eat free meals , we called ahead of time to make a reservation so they knew we were coming but didn’t like to see the skin tone they were about to deal with . You have lost a bunch that night. Mr owner it was a large group . Folks Please think twice before going there .

Stopped in today for tico quesadillas and a Pilsner beer. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they also spoke pretty good English. The food was delicious and moderately priced. I really enjoyed myself and the environment is clean and safe and I will be back!

I’ve stopped in multiple times for both lunch and dinner. I even brought some fish that I caught on a local fishing charter and they prepared it for me. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. They also have a really good key lime pie which must be homemade. I have only had great experiences here so I brought friends and they enjoyed it as much as I do.

Visited on March 14 evening after reading rave reviews, we were 1 of 3 tables, lesson - don't believe everything you read. Service was good, but sadly the food was dire. "Baked " ravioli tasted ok but arrived in a cold dish and was lukewarm. The host was good enough to comp it. The bbq chicken was dry, cold and smothered in a sickly sweet sauce. Margaritas were ok though ! Was night time so can't verify the ocean view!

Such a bad experience! The food and service were just awful! 1. It all started well-ish, we got to the restaurant and needed a table for 12, at first the waitress had an issue on helping join two tables. 2. Some of us asked for a sandwich and they received a simple “ok” chicken sandwich, it was ok but maybe not something I would expect from a restaurant I pay $12 for. 3. Pretty overpriced food. 4. And the cherry on top for one of my worst experiences at a restaurant! At the end when we had to separate the tab in 3 groups the waitress just went full rogue on us and would basically insult us while rewriting tabs, we were invoiced stuff we didn’t ask for and would receive undesired comments. Anyways, I do not recommend it at all!

Excellent lunch! I had the best tuna melt—made with fresh tuna. Great spot to enjoy some beer, fresh fish, and watch the rain. Very friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

If you want some tastes of home and some Costa Rica with the best Greek salad and best desserts go to Marlin Bills. A favorite of ours over the years. Great service, ambiance and food.

Food in Nosara will be overly priced anywhere you go, we tried many of them. However, I felt this restaurant provided the best bite with reasonable prices for the quality provided. We were pleasantly surprised and would recommend to visit. The brownie was just okay but everything else, on point!

Upon arrival this restaurant looks great! Parking was a bit of a little bit of a hassle but non the less not a long walk. We must have come at a busy time. The host was not as attentive even though we locked eyes it seems like she was nonchalant to attend to the guest arrival. The server on the other hand was amazing she was very attentive and seem to predict what we wanted to say before saying it. We ordered the tomahawk med well and got it a little less than well. I guess the charcoal could have been added a bit to enhance the heat. The food came in a timely fashion but as soon as the food came so did the dogs 3 of them in total and they were relentless. They stayed nose to our elbow literally the entire time and it dampened the food experience. We did mention it to the server and she did brush them off when asked but they immediately came back with in a minute. Over all the food was good but not great.The drinks were underwhelming in the flavor department and didn’t come tasting as they depicted. A good experience would try it again but we came because of the hype.

#1 restaurant in Nosara is the rating we give La Brasa. Flavor was complex, everything cooked to perfection. The presentation was also exquisite. The owners are physically there running the restaurant and being active participants. Just having a conversation with them you can tell they are passionate about their dishes. Ask them about their story - very impressive.

Empanadas with the housemade chimichurri sauce is to die for. Great service sitting at the bar. Love the vibe and that they cook everything over fire. Sat at the bar without a wait. Highly recommend.

Food was great. Skirt steak was cooked perfectly medium rare after some explaining. They typically recommend medium so you need to be very specific.

Salsa and chimichurri were fantastic. The rest of the food was decent, but steak was over cooked. Service was fine but nothing special. Worth trying but didn’t make me want to come back.

In a word, WOW. This is a special place. This is the kind of destination restaurant you get to and just marvel at (it’s a little bit of an adventure to get there, and will make you appreciate how everything you see and taste has to be brought there up that road!) The food was exceptional and matched the expectations you would have upon entering the building. If you are in Nosara, I would say this is a must. It is one of the most unique and special restaurants we have ever been to, anywhere in the world. 10/10 could not recommend any higher…well done!!!

What an experience! The place is located very high on the mountain, so getting there is an adventure, but definitely worth it. The service, food, and atmosphere were incredible. I would highly recommend it! Make sure to leave time to explore the property!

We had a magical meal at Coyol. We hoped for a sunset view, but instead got a front row seat to an awesome lightening show. Even sitting on the patio, we were well protected and dry. Every bite of food was delicious. We shared the cowboy steak and the chicken, which allowed us to try different sides and finish our plates, leaving just enough room for the most delightful affogato. The chicken had an umami flavor from the wood-fire that blew our minds. All points of service were professional, friendly and timely. Points to note as others did: 4x4 drive made for an additional fun adventure that my husband thoroughly enjoyed, prices are as advertised- high but worth it. It was our favorite dinner in Nosara.

I ordered the smoky roasted eggplant, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The carpaccio was also excellent, fresh and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is stunning—easily one of the most beautiful I’ve ever visited. I highly recommend booking a table in time for sunset; it’s the perfect setting for an unforgettable dinner.

Maggots… I rarely leave negative reviews, but it is my responsibility to notify others of the health concerns at this establishment. Unfortunately, my experience at Coyol was not a good one. Our roasted eggplant dish had maggots in it which we discovered near the end of consuming it. We noticed about 4-5 maggots and pointed this out to the owner (or a server but seemed to be the owner). He claimed they were not maggots and immediately took our plate away. We told him very politely that these were definitely maggots. We did not end up eating our mains since our appetite was gone after this. He packed our mains to go and we still had to pay despite our meal having maggots. Overall not a great experience considering we had to pay $150 to eat one appetizer with maggots and dispose our take away boxes with food since we did not want to eat it. The scenery and location is great, but I’m posting this review in hopes that the restaurant takes precautions with food safety in the future.

This restaurant is like no other - the atmosphere, the service are all top notch!! The drinks and the food were delicious! We were a party of 9 and our waiters were exceptional. You definitely need four-wheel-drive in order to access this restaurant!

We had a great experience at Coyol! We made a reservation for 5:30 but arrived at 5:00 to have drinks and enjoy the beautiful sunset—the atmosphere was fantastic. The road up is quite steep, but we had no trouble in our 4x4. For dinner, we shared the tomahawk steak and the pork ribs. The tomahawk was good—not the best we’ve had, but still enjoyable. The pork ribs, however, were absolutely delicious—I think I actually preferred them over the steak! Overall, a great spot for good food and stunning views.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The property has excellent facilities, everything was very well organized, spotless, and of great quality. Every staff member we interacted with, especially Andreas, JC, Francisco and Mani was extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming, which made us feel truly at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we felt well cared for in every moment. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back!

Really enjoyed my stay at Guilded Iguana for a week! First time visiting Costa Rica & I didn’t realize I had booked my vacation during the rainy season but we still had a great time. The staff at Guilded Iguana could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We surfed at their surf school two days & took an ATV waterfall tour that we booked through the front desk & they picked us up out in front of the hotel at 9 am the next day! They also were very helpful at recommending restaurants and booked us reservations from the front desk as well. I would love to stay there again!

Had a great time staying at the Guilded Iguana. Rooms were super clean, pool was beautiful, and the staff was friendly. Only downside was drinks are $17-32 each. I don’t mind spending money especially on vacation but a $20 vodka ginger ale is excessive and is costing them money by making guests not want to drink on property.

We really enjoyed our time at the Gilded Iguaga. The staff was fantastic, and always available and happy to assist us. We had so many good day trips, adventures, and restaurant experiences as a result of their recommendations. It was a great trip. I had the best experience ever at The Gilded Iguana Surf Hotel! The hotel is stunning, surrounded by nature, and just steps away from the beach. The facilities are excellent, modern yet warm, and everything feels perfectly designed for comfort and relaxation. I celebrated my birthday here, and the team went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. They decorated my room with flowers, surprised me with a delicious little cake, and even added a handwriting thoughtful card! The restaurant is absolutely incredible. I tried several dishes during my stay and every single one was perfection )fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented). But what truly makes this place special is the staff. They are lovely, fun, and genuinely caring. Huge shoutout to JC, Andres, Manni, Natalia, Francisco, and Dilan. You all made us feel completely at home. This is more than just a hotel, it’s an experience. I can’t wait to come back!

We felt SO welcomed the moment we arrived! The staff are super friendly and helpful (thank you, Francisco, for your kindness) and the amenities are incredible. The food and drinks we had during our stay were super tasty and the complimentary yoga classes were a treat! I have dined at La Casa twice during my trip to Nosara. I have enjoyed both meals and service from the staff. The first meal was a breakfast burrito and the second meal was the chicken taco. I recommend both.

Food was good but nothing special, olives in the vegan platter were cheap ones, onions were very sour. Service was very slow and food took so long to come out.

Very excited to try this place after hearing great reviews. A big disappointment. The tuna poke (with kale) had so much soy sauce it was nearly inedible. Fries were soggy. They were out of arepas so we ordered the vegan kale Cesar salad. It came with 3 halves of a cherry tomato, a few small pieces of avocado, and dressing. All other toppings were missing. When we finally managed to track down our waiter and listed the things that were missing, he brought a small cup of one missing topping. Maybe the breakfast foods are better but we won't be coming back to find out.

Kid's favorite dish the whole trip....French toast. Everyone's food was tasty with decent portion sizes.

This place is top notch. Amazing setting, excellent, pleasant, courteous staff including in the kitchen, all of whom interact with the patrons in a friendly manner. The food is outstanding. Fresh, healthy, original and tasty, all perfectly balanced in local flavour and portions. I’d eat here for every meal if someone told me I’d have to. Try the monkey coffee and cloud coffee - wow! Smoothies a big hit.

Food was great! Service was VERY slow. There was only one other family in the restaurant, so it wasn't like it was super busy. Prices have gone up since the last menu was posted! And there were several things on the menu that wasn't available. Food tasted great. But I don't feel like it was worth the long wait and price. Smoothies are outrageously expensive prices.

I’m going to go ahead and say it, Destiny Cafe is the best restaurant in Costa Rica. Tell me a place better! I live north of Nosara and coordinate visits to town simply for Destiny Cafe. There is so much that makes it amazing, but I’ll list a few: 1. Their staff is so sweet and kind! With a bustling spot that almost always has a wait, they are patient and cheery. 2. Their coffee game is top notch. I seriously haven’t seen so many incredible choices of specialty coffee drinks. And honestly they are all incredible! The cloud coffee is like nothing I’ve ever tasted. 3. Their food is incredible. I simply can’t say it enough. Their combo of flavors and ingredients are amazing. Do not miss this spot.

Having read some of the middling to negative service reviews we arrived, undaunted - as they were more than counterbalanced by opinions of the menu offerings… boy were we pleasantly surprised! It seems that Destiny has taken those negative perspectives and experiences (which were not unanimous by any means, really) and really stepped their game up. We experienced prompt seating, friendly service, excellent suggestions, friendly banter, attentive well-timed check-ins, and immediate responsiveness - they staff did a great job! And the food? Outstanding. Each dish (there were many ordered for our large group) was beautifully, painstakingly prepared, fantastic and elevated. From the wide selection of beverages, to the eclectic and broad menu options ordered, everything was perfect - surprising us with the flavour combinations, textural counterpoints, presentation and overall experience. My favourite? The fresh tuna poké with avocado and mango on a bed of sushi rice. Unbelievable. This establishment has become our unequivocal go to.

THERE IS NO SIGN FOR THIS CAFE! You kinda just have to walk off the street (there was construction and lots of mud, Nov 2023), down a gravel path, and it's the white bohemian open space on your right. The water seemed to be tap water and made my mouth feel dry; but the drinks were fantastic! I got the strawberry matcha and the carrot turmeric juice. The food was nothing short of fantastic! We went on a Friday at around 9:30am and we're able to seat a group of 10 immediately! 10/10 would go again! Special thanks to our concierge for recommending the place!

We were drawn to the farm to table concept and unique menu options. The atmosphere is warm and well-designed, the servers and staff were all friendly with good energy. Now let’s get to the food… We ordered ceviche for appetizer - it was great, they definitely could’ve added a few more chips though. For our mains, we ordered casados, one jerk chicken and one shrimp. Both were tasty, but for the price that they charge I was expecting the best casado I’ve ever tasted which it simply wasn’t. If it were $15 Casado, that would’ve been more acceptable - but for $22 base price without including the 23% default up charge … it just doesn’t meat that standard of what I expect for that price point of a meal - ESPECIALLY in Costa Rica.

We’ve come back to Nosara many times and El Local is our most repeated spot! This is probably the tastiest and healthiest restaurant you can eat at in Nosara, especially if you’re a meat eater. The meat is grass fed, the vegetables are organic and pesticide free, and all of the fish is fresh caught. They are very popular for their burger (I get the kids burger because I can never finish the full one!) but truly everything on the menu is great! This is the one place in CR that I would encourage you to try the steak if you’re craving one. Note that it’s not the same kind of Black Angus thick cut beef we get in the US, but it’s great nonetheless. Sorry to make a comparison, but we tend to like this place more than La Luna! We love La Luna and the vibes are nice as it’s on the beach but it can be difficult to get into and I find the food at El Local makes me feel better than after I’ve been to La Luna. The chef, Henry, is incredible, and can whip up pretty much anything. I can attest to this as he was hired him to cook at a private event I attended and he made absolute magic from the Tuna and Robalo that our friends caught that afternoon, among so many other dishes that he graced us with! 10/10 would recommend El Local!

Loved this restaurant with my family! The service was amazing and very attentive with so much Pura Vida energy. We enjoyed the Thai fried rice, chicken sandwich, shrimp pasta, fish sandwich and catch of day. Catch of the Day was the highlight - it had the tastiest roasted veggies in a sauce that is hard to describe and impossible to replicate. I’m shocked it wasn’t more busy when we were there - it’s a place not to be missed on your trip to Nosara!

10/10 recommend El Local! The food was absolutely incredible as well as the drinks & waitstaff. I had the chicken sandwich, fries, & passion fruit fizzer & I would go back every day to eat the same thing it was so good! They have vegan AND non vegan options so it was perfect for our mixed group of eaters! Did I mention the staff was amazing?! Incredibly friendly & accommodating people here in Nosara! 😍

I came here 14 yrs ago when it was a pizzeria. Its had an update but retains the amazing building structure and improved bar and feeling. Was very quiet, which is a shame because the food was excellent, location and walk in through a garden is wonderful. Overall cost was cheaper than some of the other places we ate in the North end of Guiones, so well worth checking this updated gem out.

Great dinner spot! The drinks were delicious and strong and all the food was amazing. We had yucca fries that we ate too fast to take a picture of, the fish burger and jerk chicken. I don't know what was in the sauce on the chicken but it was sweet and savory and I loved it. The place itself is located on a raised deck and has a huge long table for big groups, as well as upper levels and a tiny 4 person table secluded balcony area. Great views of tropical trees all around and good views of the sunset from the upper level.

Great atmosphere. Such a cozy setting with relaxing music. A good combination of American and some international fling such as Thai burger. :) I'll try to stay at the hotel next time.

Lovely place in Nosara! We had the Octopus Ceviche and the Baked Escargot, we were missing a piece of an escargot though but that’s ok. We also had the 4-piece Rack of Lamb and the Roasted Duck in Orange Sauce. If you’re super hungry, best to order a 6-piece Rack of Lamb, they’re tiny. Services are impeccable!

Amazing atmosphere and incredibly nice staff! Snyder was our waiter and he was so kind and personable, we adored him. The food was great! The spicy tuna sushi and the spaghetti carbonara were our favorites.

Le stelle is such an amazing dining experience. The staff are so welcoming and consistently attentive and accommodating. The food is top notch and incredibly well priced considering the level of detail and the quality of the ingredients. So much thought and care has gone into every detail of this place and it really shows! Would definitely recommend for someone looking to have a special night in nosara!

We finally made our first time visit this past Friday night. We were promptly greeted walking through the beautiful entranceway, and allowed to choose our table for two. The spectacular dining room is quite large and can accommodate large groups of 100 plus if needed. We were only two of four guests this particular night, but it certainly wasn’t due to the service or experience. The service received was 5* including a visit to the table by the chef. The food was good. The menu was quite lengthy and a good number of staff in the kitchen were ready to prepare a wonderful meal. The prices are quite expensive, and cocktail prices are much too high…but wine prices are fair for the area making them an easy go to. It is definitely an ‘experience’ restaurant, more so than a weekly go to…but hands down one of the best in Nosara.

Overpriced and lacks of soul type of place. Menu is giant, they try to sell from sushi, to French and Italian food, so they can't perform at a high level all of their dishes. Aside from that is super expensive. Low quality basic pizza, crazy overpriced sushi. I ordered a wagyu-cross beef rare and they burned it.... The restaurant is nice, can't say is not, but if you're travelling to Costa Rica you want to try local cuisine and local type of experiences, I don't think this is the right place to go when you're on vacation in Costa Rica. There is nothing Costa Rican in the menu.

We had such a lovely dinner experience at Le Stelle! Our server Arleth was truly outstanding - she was super kind and so helpful with the menu. The food was quite delicious, and the chef came to our table after the meal to make sure that everything was great. We will return there soon.

Best dining experience we had in Playa Guiones. Thoughtfully developed menu. Dishes executed with craft and attention to detail. The ceviche had a generous amount of high quality fish. Yucca chips came with two nice sauces. Also had a beautifully balanced potato dish. Was super impressed by this place. Good value. A refreshing departure from all the other places doing pizza in town. Great find.

So delicious! They stayed open later than some of the other restaurants, and we ordered small plates of ceviche and other raw things. They gave us constant and wonderful service, were very conversational and lovely hosts. There were typical ceviches, and some others with curry in them we had never had anything like! Wonderful experience. Beautifully lit, great music, it was a magical night.

We went there with high expectations. Maybe to high. Food was ok but far from exceptional. They didn’t have fresh white fish for the ceviche that day so it came with tuna. We tried it anyway. Nothing special at all. As main we had some Beef Lomo. Also ok, but that’s it. Small portions and we felt it to be highly overpriced. Service was terrible. The young american lady seemed to be completely out of her shoes even though the place was not busy at all...it actually has just a few small tables. We had to ask about three times for glasses to pour the water in we had on our table since 15 minutes. In the end we just asked the guy from the bar and got our glasses within seconds. The drinks we ordered were tasty.

We saw this truck walking around guiones and made it a point to eat there before the end of our week long trip. By far the best dinner restaurant we ate in guiones. We had the causa and the ceviche. Both dishes had incredibly fresh fish. You need to try the causa if you decide to go. I’m upset we only went at the end of our trip, because I would have loved to eat there again. Please don’t succumb to other overpriced tourist traps. Do yourself a favour and eat here instead!!

The staff is rude and they make you feel like if your not one of them then your nothing I was really upset with them and the lack of customer service care I got one of there names I think was Alex. The place look pretty but they should learn how to treat new customers

Amazing food & amazing vibes. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a breakfast toast, both with eggs. The portions were extremely generous, the food was absolutely delicious and the service as impeccable. This place is cash only but there’s a market steps away with an ATM.

There were a lot of fun options, and I enjoyed everything I tried. The macro bowl was filling and delicious. I got it with the bean burger, which was a good choice. The bowl was well balanced, and I felt good after eating it. The proper whopper was a fun option someone else at my table had. It had a great texture with the coconut bacon. All of the drinks were tasty and refreshing. A great option for vegans in the area.

Small but mighty!! Plant based eatery serving amazing food and TREATS!! Make sure to try the treats in the fridge when you go!! The homemade dressings are delish!! They also have great juices and even a cleanse if you pre- order. Keep in mind it’s CASH ONLY!!!

We ate here every morning for our four days in Nosara. Everything we had was fresh and wholesome. A great way to start the day. The breakfast burrito is divine as is the deseyono. Service fast and friendly. It’s cash only so keep that in mind.

Best veggie burger I had in Costa Rica BY FAR! Their whopper is just insane. The taste, texture, condiments, everything just delicious and beautiful. Got the bliss bean burger too and it was yummy but far smaller and not really a “hot” food item as far as temperature goes and I love hot food. Highly recommend checking this place out but do note that they are CASH ONLY! Important thing to notice haha pura vida!

Naked Foods is a great spot to eat organic, local, healthy and delicious food. They have smoothies, juices, burgers, salads, breakfast burritos. It's a lovely outdoor café with plants all around shielding you from the road. If you're visiting Nosara and in Guiones, stop & eat here: you won't regret it.

Amazing location, nice menu, food is top notch, K-Rae is a hoot! A wonderful and entertaining owner/hostess. Great pool and gardens, bring your suit and plan to spend a few hours taking in the view and hospitality!

Have family that lives in the area and went there for the first time. TOTALLY AWESOME!! A true and authentic Irish Pub at the top of a mountain in the jungles of Costa Rica with both indoor and outdoor seating / dinning and even a pool to relax in while enjoying a drink! The pub owner is a true Boston Irish lass who has poured her heart and soul into this small Irish oasis in the heart of a tropical paradise filled with breathtaking mountain scenery, excellent food and an awesome atmosphere that is impossible to forget. This was definitely my favourite part of my trip and I can't wait to go back!!

Super fun to hang out for the afternoon with K-Rae! Great food! Great beers! Great banter! We all dipped in the pool and took in all the gorgeous jungle views, thank you so much!

I stayed at K-Raes last week. It was magical. Kinda had the place to myself mid-week. I got to make a Life-long friend in Kerrie. Probably gonna adopt some four legged companions. One of my most favorite and unique places in Nosara, an Irish pub, near the top of a mountain, in the jungles of Costa Rica! Love the food, views (including sunsets and monkeys), music, vibe, staff and the owner, Kerri (a/k/a K-Rae). It’s a must visit. Try the Reuben and K-Rae’s version of the Chic-fil-a sandwich!

Beer was pretty good with a Pale Ale, "amberish" lager and an IPA. We had a fire cooked pizza that was pretty good. Service was so-so since they were busy. The time on Google says they open at 4pm but when we got there a little after 4pm they said that they start preparing at 4pm and really don't open till 5ish... :/

Best pizza in Nosara! The best thin crust pizza I’ve ever had in general. The kitchen line workers really have their system down pat, our server Diego was very friendly and seemed like he really loves his job based on the great service we received. Music playlist was 10/10 , atmosphere overall 10/10. Looking forward oncoming back in a few days

A bit deceptive - Olivia's is the restaraunt that serves Guiones Brew Co. The upstairs is a very relaxing spot to enjoy the drinks. However, the service can seem a bit hectic or disorganized at times so I gave points off for that. The seating wasn't very comfortable. Try the Pinapple Blonde.

Honestly one of the best places in Costa Rica to go out for dinner. Pizza is super good, nice crispy and thin, waiters are really friendly and place is just amazing.

Its right in the middle of everything so I was actually a little surprised the staff and food were as good as they were because, well, convivence alone would probably fill the place. The ceviche was one of the best I have had there and the pizzas and beers are great. I will come again.

Beautiful outdoor dining experience. We couldn't believe how pretty the atmosphere was with the lights and greenery. I am not vegan but really enjoyed the food here. Everything tasted fresh and was healthy. My friend wanted soup so they made her a dish not even on the menu. Had great service and we loved the little dog running around.

This is a Vegan restaurant and I'm not a vegan but the food was spectacular! The staff were great too. Nice shade coverage by the trees! It's a little bit hidden but it's a gem! I suggest the funky monkey (Smoothie) with an espresso shot. The Yogi bowl is really good. My 2year old son loved their kid's burger. I had the vegan lemon meringue pie. Honestly the best pie I've ever had and it's all made of nuts apparently. I highly recommend it.

This spot is BEAUTIFUL!! Right off the main downtown strip, delicious vegan food and the patio was stunning. The inside of the building looked a little rough around the edges but everyone was super friendly and the food was great! Would definitely return!

Stumbled upon this gem after arriving a long day kf travel. Were quickly greeted and attended to. All staff amazing and very helpful. We are not vegan but their menu had lots of variety. The summer rolls and the sauce that goes with them is AMAZING (you get 3 and they are size of burritos). We also tried the falafel burger and tropical burger with smoked pineapple and coconut bacon. We left full, happy and healthy. Pura vida!

I'm surprised this place isn't busier every night because the food was excellent. Coconut shrimp was cooked perfectly and paired very well with the sauce provided. The octopus was not over seasoned which was awesome!! The char on it made the natural flavors pop! All the veggies were grilled to perfection, including the eggplant. Servings were not as large as I may be accustomed to, but the food quality and presentation made up for it!

SARA is my favorite place to go to hang out and hear the best chill music, incredible cocktails, wonderful service, and the food is very good! The owner Ander takes a lot of pride in the food he creates and the cocktails he makes. Everything is fresh, he will not compromise any quality, sometimes he is out of fish and it is only because he will serve things when it is fresh or in season. Atmosphere is also one of my favorite things, covered in beautiful artwork of plant nature, there's also the cutest pups and a cat that are literally the friendliest sweetest ones you meet in Costa Rica! SARA is open late for your evening drinks and has great DJs couple nights out of the week. I was also not drinking alcohol for a while and he makes incredible mocktails. Brought a friend and we both agreed that he makes the best mocktails on this side of town!

I ate dinner alone at Sara (formerly Tonito’s) twice while vacationing in the area. The ambiance is great, and I loved the “bar stools” which are actually swings! But the food is what puts this place over the top. I had the bacon wrapped, goat cheese stuffed dates for appetizer one night and the fish carpaccio the other night. Both times I had the special which was a perfectly cooked, fresh filet of Mahi Mahi on a bed of sweet potatoes and surrounded by perfectly cooked vegetables. I was really shocked that I was the only customer on a Saturday night at 7 PM. Please go to this restaurant and try it for yourself. You will love it.

Very chilled, more local bar. Very simplistic in nature but has a charm to it. The music is the most chilled I've come across so far in CR in a bar and the drinks are served real cold. It's tucked a little off the main road in Pelada so it feels like a hidden gem (especially at night). Also has the most badass bar-cat I've ever seen.

This was the most amazing meal of our trip! It is an absolute must try. The wine list is carefully selected, as if the food menu. The arugula salad was the best salad I have ever had. And the spicy Caribbean shrimp was just wonderful!

One real down side was we were really rushed and pressured to order quickly and our mains came immediately after the starters. I would go back.

Costa Restaurante has excellent food all around. Food quality: top notch. For drinks, I had the Pink Lemonade and an additional drink which was an original of Antanella, the bartender (both with EtOH). Absolutely refreshing after a day in the sun. For my meal I had the Seafood Sancocho. As an Italian American from the Jersey I have an extremely critical assessment for food. It was unbelievably flavorful similar to an excellent muscles in white sauce. Service and atmosphere: you are in Costa Rica... Forgetaboutit! Absolutely friendly “Pura Vida.” I have absolutely no reservations recommending this place. Gracias.

My husband and I met on the beaches of Tulum and he took me on our first ever date at the original Posada Margherita there. It was so magical. We stopped going to Tulum years ago and were gutted that we would not have another meal at one of our favorite places in the world again. Lo and behold, it’s now in Nosara where we come to see our friends a few times a year. The same menu, the same fresh ingredients, the same care, the same magic. And, of course, the same owner Alessandro. He’s a righteous dude! You can see the passion he has for his restaurant in every single detail, down to his beautiful plants! He is like a conductor during high season - explaining the menu, directing where to seat guests, making sure everyone is happy with their food…all at the same time. The food is worth every single penny. The ingredients are all of the highest quality, house made and never disappoints. Throughout the years I have tried almost everything on the menu but I always go back to Al Pomodoro Fresco. You just can’t beat the beautiful simplicity of this dish. The focaccia and pickled vegetables are a beautiful start to the meal and the gelato can’t be beat. As well as the pizzas. And the cocktails. Just go here. You won’t regret it. We have also lead yoga retreats in Nosara and Alessandro and his amazing staff were incredibly accommodating for our group dinners there. Thank you, Alessandro, for bringing this down to Nosara - now we can continue to have our beautiful meals here that bring our memories back of our first date!

First of all the place is gorgeous. It is overflowing with plants everywhere & is such a vibe. The home made pasta was to die for. Pistachio gelati was amazing. And the owner is so personable & made the whole experience. We will definitely be back!!

Last but not least, the food is top-quality, fresh, generous, flavorful, homemade, and inventive. For instance, all pasta is homemade; they even have two-color pasta with spinach dough. And the gelatos and sorbets are so perfect, too! Posada Margherita is a must-visit in Nosara. It's open every day for lunch and dinner. The kitchen never closes! We had a fantastic experience at Posada Margherita and will return whenever we are in Nosara!

Such a wonderful space, an abundance of plants create a intimate environment. The staff are very friendly and welcoming whilst the owner Alessandro greets all the tables with a beautiful smile. The food is authentic Italian andd you can't go wrong with the Pizza menu.

Great food and really good people. We ate at La Fonda on a number of occasions while in Nosara, it became our favorite go-to place. The roasted meats are incredible and it is great fun to watch the owner work his grill. In addition to some really great traditional grilled meats there were some special treats on the menu. Try the black pudding - a very special treat. We also had grilled tripe that was to die for. A very special place with the owner and his wife making it one of the friendliest restaurants we came across in a country with many friendly restaurants. Don't miss having dinner at La Fonda while in Nosara.

Fun restaurant with a great vibe. We order chicken and the fish dishes. The cooking itself was pretty good, but I find the flavour blend. Service was pretty good. I would encourage the restaurant to use more spices and try different flavours. Maybe they are trying to appeal to European visitors where Salt and pepper is the only seasoning they know?

Our dinner here was equally as delicious as it was beautiful - definitely a pricer meal but worth it for the experience. Yerlon, one of the bartenders, was wonderful and extremely welcoming. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. Don’t miss out on the half chicken or date cake with ginger ice cream for dessert! We will be back

Get the roasted carrots!!! This dish was one of the most flavorful and delicious things I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. I took one bite and wanted to cry (tears of joy). The hummus with focaccia and the leeks were also veryyy good. If I could’ve eaten more, I would’ve tried more of the sides and appetizers. Also, the bartender Jaron/Jarod (?) was super friendly and gave me advice on which sides to pick. The manager asked me how everything was and overall I had a great experience dining solo at Sendero.

Great dinner at Sendero Kitchen. Service was very good. We shared the tuna crispy sushi and labneh which were excellent. We also had the chicken (best chicken I've had!!) and the catch of the day. Vibes, food and service was amazing, highly recommend.

Sendero is a beautifully and thoughtfully curated space. It’s one of the best restaurants in Nosara because it offers high quality service and consistently high quality food. I’ve been many times for breakfast and dinner with friends and family visiting, and it never disappoints. The servers are lovely, and Yerlon as a bartender is such a highlight, he’s very knowledgeable and friendly, you can tell he truly loves his craft. It’s usually really busy so make a reservation!

We stayed at the Sendero for two nights and had breakfast and dinner then came back a third time while staying in another hotel nearby. The food was great service very good. All the staff were extremely charismatic, including the head chef. Music is vibey. Definitely recommend spreads for appetizers gnocchi was so soft and good as well as the fish dishes were fresh. Mains were on the pricier side for Nosara.

It’s my third time in magical Nosara and every time I come, I swing by to see Yerlon, a phenomenal mixologist who makes fantastic cocktails. He’s now at Sendero so I had to swing by to try it and was not disappointed.

We went to Almendros Cantina tonight at the recommendation of the B&B we were staying at & we were super pleased. This place is really great, we loved the candlelit tables, soft lighting, open kitchen & the food was amazing. The space is clean & we received good service. My margaritas were yummy & strong. My son ordered a burger which was made with high quality beef & I had the shrimp with rice. The shrimp were fresh & the dish was really yummy. We even decided to get their desert which was a warm, home made brownie served with vanilla ice cream. Another perk was this place is priced right, we have been shocked with the restaurant prices & food quality in No$ara but here you get incredible food & mixed drinks that won’t make you feel like you were just ripped off. We are going back tomorrow for lunch.

It's a small venue inside a shopping mall-like place. I ordered a couple rolls and they were delicious. You can tell the freshness of the ingredients. Sushi Mari and Maki Roll Mango were both delicious. The staff was nice and friendly. I'd recommend this place if you want sushi. Small menu though, so don't be surprised at that. And only three fish for nigiri/sashimi. That's why I rated it 4 stars as I'm a nigiri fan.

Don’t get intimidated by the strip mall feel, the food is delicious. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the tuna tartar and the volcano roll. My personal favorite was the tartar. It’s huge FYI. They add mango and avocado to the recipe which makes for one amazing combination of flavor. Highly recommend. The servings are large so keep this in mind when ordering. There is a fenced in playground and foosball for kids or young at heart adults to enjoy while waiting for your food.

Family of four, including two children, arrived on an early August late afternoon, 45 minutes before sunset. No one else was at the restaurant. Needless to say the views are stunning and worth the drive up from Samara through 30 minutes of mountain dirt roads. As other reviewers have said, the views are the attraction but the drinks and food served alongside were the best since leaving La Fortuna. From the hammock and swinging chairs, the chirping birds, howling monkeys, delicious food and drinks with very reasonable prices along with the sun slowly plunging into the sea over the course of our meal - this is one of those experiences we will remember forever.

Delicious meals, polite friendly gracious service, and an unparalleled view! It's a bumpy drive, but so worth it! Three vegan meal options. Vegan Especial, vegan tacos, and pasta with vegetables can be vegan. All were delicious. Plus the patacones are the best! Don't miss this very special place!

We ALL loved Olgas. Such a charming and authentic restaurant on the beach in Nosara. The food was OUTSTANDING! Most impressive was the grilled whole red snapper. My son who is picky devoured it. This place feels like such a hidden gem, we went and no one was there. Service is polite and attentive, they even gave us complimentary dessert. The best part, by far, was the food. We had the Paneer Makhani and Chicken Tikka Masala, absolutely to die for! We both cleared our plates. The Garlic Naan was delectable, everything was outstanding. Hands down, better than any Indian food I’ve had in the US, which thoroughly surprised me! P.S. excuse the half eaten food, we couldn’t help to dive in when it came to the table LOL

The food was excellent. I’ve had so much Indian food over the years and every single dish was so well executed. Don’t miss the palak paneer and the garlic naan! The proteins were also so tender and excellent service to make this a 5-star experience in a casual setting. Worth the trip outside of central Nosara — just a 10-min drive.

I was dancing in my seat as I ate! It is authentic and so incredibly delicious. The beef curry and chicken curry had incredible depth of flavor and the vegetarian samosa was a must-try with the sauces they provide. Some of their pricing could be considered high, but this is literally the best food we have eaten since we have been in Costa Rica so if you like Indian food, this restaurant is a must!

Food was alright, but the açaí bowl is not açaí. They blended frozen blueberries with bananas. Very disappointed because I'm from Brasil and was expecting to taste our original açaí, but there was not even a gram of açaí in that bowl. Please change the name to fruit bowl.

Pretty good spot for brunch. My boyfriend loved the coffee, so much so that we bought some for home, Cafe Dota. They have gluten free options, and accommodated my allergiest o dairy, eggs and pineapples. Very friendly service and fresh food. It's a bit pricey, as it's 7000-8000 colones per entree.

This is a great place for a meal on the lovely Playa Pelada! We loved it so much that we went back for a second time on our short trip to the area to sample more of the delicious food with a home-made feel. Fresh fish from local fishermen and yummy fresh fruit drinks. Open air and charming local flavor. We will be back!

We all thought it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. I had the mahi-mahi. Yum! I will say that their spicy margaritas are freaking HOT. Having Mamagui in Nosara tangibly and meaningfully improved my quality of life in this town. I went to the opening night of the restaurant and immediately felt a deep exhale at the sincere and courteous hospitality, the extraordinarily tasty and creative plates and the feeling that I was valued and respected as a customer. Not to mention the beautiful surroundings that transport you to a sense of being in a piazza in Italy (the fountain, decor etc.). As those who live here or even visit know - life in Nosara often means dust in the face, mud on your feet and your fair share of power outages and trips to the mechanic. So to go to a restaurant like this where you feel elegantly pampered and treated with all your senses relaxes and delights me more than any cold plunge or spa. As a native Italian who grew up in NYC, my standards are quite high for not only Italian food but dining in general and this place has never let me down once. The menu, which changes seasonally, is innovative while always staying true to Chef Gerardo’s roots. The ambiance and venue have hints of the Mediterranean mixed in with Nosara’s quiet sophistication without being pretentious. Service is on point but not in your face and never rushed. Pulled pork sandwich was exceptional, I am not a fan of coleslaw and it was amazing with the sandwiches. Beans and Mac/cheese were amazing. The fried cookies awesome. The workers were beyond exceptional and the prices are very reasonable. Everything is made from scratch including the sauces.

Wow, such a great experience! We stopped by for drinks on our way to the beach early in the day and instantly loved the vibe—and the owner—so we had to come back for the BBQ. We ordered the ribs, chicken wings, sides, and all the sauces, and everything was incredible. The ribs fell off the bone, the chicken wings were super juicy and the spicy white capsicum sauce (which they make in house) was absolutely to die for—perfectly balanced between heat and flavor. The Jamaica drink was equally refreshing and well-balanced. What really made it special, though, was the conversation with the owner—his passion for food is infectious. 10/10 recommend!

Did not expect to find the best BBQ in Costa Rica, but here we are! Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but all the sauces are homemade, the meat is locally sourced and ethically raised, and the owner/chef is so wonderful and passionate about his BBQ. Also loved that the meat was super lean and tender unlike a lot of BBQ that just feels like a grease pit. Can’t wait to go back!

I have been here before and wasn't sure what to make of it, but now I have been a few times I have really warmed to the place. The staff is lovely and helpful, the pizzas are great and a lot of the menu is solid. I am not totally sure what to make of the bar area - seems like its always pumping loungy dance music, but there are never more than a few people in there. Its like a party that doesn't quite get to happening.

This place is an absolute gem and a must-visit in Nosara. As a carnivore, it's rare that I get this blown away by vegan food, but we ate here three nights in a row — there was that much more we just had to try 😅 Everything is made with incredible care, with surprising and delicious flavor and ingredient combinations. Definitely try the seared asparagus wrapped in smoked, cured rice paper (!) — it's like nothing I ever had and came as close to prosciutto as you can get with vegan ingredients ... Also the "poke tower" with smoked tofu was amazing, and the almond-base coconut tart with wine-marinated blueberries. Great vibe, beautiful interior and top-notch, friendly, caring service.

We did some shopping, grabbed a beer at Blue Zone then scooted over to Ser and had the most amazing dinner experience upstairs. We had the mushroom with cilantro sauce and the ceviche. Both were exquisite. Then shared a risotto fuerte. The mango margarita was fantastic. Staff were very sweet as well, very attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. I highly recommend Ser.
