Kunga Restaurant is a charming eatery located on Gandhi Road in Darjeeling, known for its authentic Tibetan cuisine. The restaurant is run by a Tibetan family and offers a cozy atmosphere to enjoy flavorful and comforting thukpa bowls, as well as popular dishes like momos. Visitors may find themselves sharing tables with local monks dressed in traditional robes, adding to the cultural experience.
The best best best food I have ever had!!! This place is being viral for all the right reasons. It’s worth every hype. Their PHING is to die for. We tried so many items from their menu and nothing disappointed us. Each item was better than another. Honestly if you also go to Darjeeling very often like me you should definitely give this place a try. Though you need to remember one thing that their cooking style is very different. More like Nepali and Tibetan style. So if you’re hoping to taste Chinese flavours this is not a place for you. They use very little oil and sauce. Make regional dishes. We loved it. It’s my favourite. ❤️❤️

★★★★☆ 4/5 Had a great experience at Kunga Restaurant! The ambience is warm and inviting with cozy Tibetan decor that gives it a peaceful, authentic feel. Perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing meal. We tried several dishes and loved the flavors. The Chicken Noodles were delicious—well-cooked with tender chicken and a nice balance of spice. The Glass Noodles were light, full of veggies, and had a great texture—ideal if you're in the mood for something less heavy. But the real star was the Chicken Momos—juicy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the spicy chutney. Definitely one of the best momo spots in town. It can get a bit crowded during peak hours, but the overall atmosphere remains pleasant and inviting. Service was decent and the prices were fair. A little more seasoning in a couple of dishes would’ve made it a 5-star experience, but overall, highly recommended!

I recently visited Kunga Restaurant in Darjeeling and enjoyed a hearty Tibetan meal. The place itself is small and tucked away on Gandhi Road, but it has a homely vibe that instantly makes you comfortable. Seating is limited, so it can get a bit crowded, yet the warmth of the staff and the aroma of food create a welcoming atmosphere. I tried their chicken fried rice, chicken noodles, and sweet and sour chicken. The fried rice was flavourful, not oily, and well-balanced with fresh vegetables and tender chicken. The chicken noodles were even better—perfectly cooked with just the right texture, packed with generous portions and a comforting, authentic taste. The highlight for me was the sweet and sour chicken: the sauce had the ideal balance of tangy and slightly sweet notes, coating the crispy chicken beautifully. It felt indulgent yet satisfying. Service was prompt and polite, though with the rush, a little waiting time is expected. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and quantity, making it good value in Darjeeling’s food scene. Overall, Kunga delivers authentic, tasty Tibetan-style dishes with a homely charm. For hearty food lovers, it’s a spot I’d definitely recommend. A solid 4-star experience.

I visited Kunga last week and tried the cheese steamed chicken momos – the food was excellent. However, the staff’s behavior was not very welcoming. You’re required to place your entire order at once, as they do not accept additional orders later, which they mention while taking the order. Another drawback is that they only accept cash payments.
Sourav S — Google review
To date, hands down the best mixed fried rice I have tasted here. Usually, people stand in long queues to get a table. When I visited this place, I was able to get a seat in under ten minutes. Indeed, it is one of the best restaurants if anyone is visiting Darjeeling.
Arghya M — Google review
Must try their Noodles/chowmein and momo. Very famous chinese food joint in Darjeeling. Maximum sitting capacity 16 to 18 heads. Be prepare for a long wait outside.
Rohan R — Google review
Rest of the food was delicious in taste. Ordered pork curry and the pork was uncooked. When I gave a feedback about it to the owner lady her reaction was not very impressive. She bluntly said you are the 1st customer complaining about it and it is like this only. It’s not good to eat uncooked pork at all. And the owner should be aware about it. Rather accepting it and giving such blunt replies they must accept it and correct it. Being a famous food joint doesn’t mean they are 100% correct.
Ankush B — Google review
Momos were tasty and wide variety of food on offer. Staff and owners needs to be courteous & customer friendly. Surprisingly restaurant was closed for lunch from 1.00 to 2.00. being a tourist location, people visit hotels for lunch.

Sonam's Kitchen, nestled on a serene street in Darjeeling, is a beloved cafe renowned for its hearty breakfasts and top-notch coffee. This family-owned gem, operating for over 13 years, offers a cozy and intimate setting perfect for a relaxed morning. With just three seating arrangements, the space exudes warmth and authenticity.
It’s a small eatery on Dr. Zakir Hussain Road famous for its breakfast platters, brunch and cozy environment. I tried their Breakfast platters of Hash Brown, Scrambled Egg, Cheese & Bread Toast. The combination is absolutely amazing. I have ordered a Darjeeling Black Tea & Cheese Omelette separately, both were tasty. The owner was very welcoming. We chatted a lot about the local cuisines. It’s a must visit for those who love the proper English Cuisine.

cute place with a western crowd. little pricier than some of the other local places but a good meal nevertheless, owner couple seemed very sweet. only reason i’m taking one star away is the price and the fact that i’m usually full and satisfied for a long time after having porridge but ended up still being hungry and getting samosas after this one! taste was good though.
Smiina J — Google review
A pretty cute food outlet with limited seating arrangement has been serving great hospitality for around 20 years. The foods served here are simple but tasty. The hash brown is their main attraction and it tastes great with their special cheese. The toast is toasted in a crispy way and it matches perfectly with scrambled egg and butter. The coffee was also strong and stimulates the taste buds. In a nutshell, they serve good food and overcome their shortfalls with their hearty and warm behavior.

Sonam serves delicious continental breakfast such as banana pancakes, whole grain brown toast, oatmeal with cashews and raisins and honey, lemon, ginger tea. Her guesthouse, just up the hill, is a truly comfortable, private homestay experience with a private hot shower, queen size bed and a sunny terrace with large windows and a pleasant hill top breeze. Beautiful views of the Queen of the Hills can be enjoyed with both sunrise and sunset in the same location. If you are looking for a true family feel with a great vibe, look nowhere else. With loving kindness, Johnny

Thanks to the energetic owner, I had a cheerful and enjoyable meal. I was lucky to arrive when it wasn’t busy, so my food came out fairly quickly. However, please note that the owner handles both the kitchen and the front of house alone, so there might be some wait during peak hours. The toasted bread served with the breakfast was especially delicious. But the true highlight here is the Darjeeling tea. make sure to give it a try! The aroma is incredibly rich and the balance is unlike anything I’ve had before.

A Breakfast Haven in Darjeeling! Sonam’s Kitchen is an absolute gem and a must-visit eatery in Darjeeling. We had a breakfast here that was nothing short of perfect — fulfilling, sumptuous and cooked with so much love. The highlight was their authentic mocha pot coffee, rich and aromatic, which complemented the meal beautifully. The place itself is small and cozy, with a warm, inviting vibe. What makes it even more special is the lovely couple who run it. With 27 years of passion poured into this kitchen, they give personal attention to every guest, making you feel right at home. Located on Dr. Zakir Hussain Road, it’s an easy walk from Chowrasta (Chowk). If you’re in Darjeeling, don’t miss this delightful little spot — it’s the kind of place that stays with you long after the trip ends.

We went here at the time closing at lunch hour. Loved the has browns. The pancakes were also great. The portions were big, plate of hashbrowns with eggs and toast, along with pancakes was more than enough for 2 people

Small eatery tucked in the alleyways of Darjeeling. The owner stole our heart with her lovely smile, cordial behaviour and interesting stories. The freshly made food (hashbrown and pancake) was really good. A must try whenever in Darjeeling. Special mention: Ginger lemon tea.

Glenary's— Bakery, Restaurant & Pub is a renowned establishment in Darjeeling that offers a diverse range of Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisine. Situated in a vintage rooftop setting with picturesque city views, it provides an immersive dining experience. The eatery is known for its delectable offerings such as Shepherds Pie and expertly crafted cocktails like the Bloody Mary.
The atmosphere never fails to astonish me every time I visit Glenary’s in Darjeeling. There’s something uniquely charming about this place — a blend of old-world colonial cafe vibes, warm hospitality, and the delightful aroma of freshly baked treats that instantly lifts your mood. Whether you choose to sit indoors amidst the classic wooden interiors or out on the terrace overlooking the picturesque valley, Glenary’s offers the perfect setting to relax and soak in Darjeeling’s charm. The food consistently lives up to its reputation. Their bakery items are a must-try – from pastries to cookies, everything tastes fresh and made with love. The cafe menu is equally impressive, with hearty portions and flavours that hit the right note every single time. Evenings here are especially special, with music and lively ambience adding to the experience. The staff is courteous, attentive, and always happy to help, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable. For me, Glenary’s isn’t just a restaurant – it is an experience that captures the essence of Darjeeling. It’s the kind of place you keep going back to, to unwind, enjoy good food, and create memories.

We had the best time here. We got a bunch of their desserts and baked. While most of them were quite mid, their pina colada pastry blew us away. They have a bar on the ground floor, which was incredible! The live band on Sunday night was incredible, so vibey. The staff was great too. Loved their drinks, the vibe was great. Definitely worth visiting when in darj.

Glenary’s Bakery is one of the oldest and most iconic bakeries in India! 🧁 It has an amazing variety of bakery items — we loved the patties, Danish pastry, and donuts, and their Berline is a must-try. There are so many delicious options to choose from. Though it was a bit crowded, everything was well-organized. The self-service setup with microwaves to heat your food is a great touch. A must-visit spot in Darjeeling for all bakery lovers!
Suvi K — Google review
A classic Darjeeling landmark that beautifully blends old-world charm with great food and ambience. Glenary’s offers a cozy setting with panoramic hill views and delicious bakery items downstairs. The upper-level restaurant serves quality Indian and continental dishes, and the live music in the evenings adds a lively yet relaxing touch. Service is courteous, and the prices are fair for the experience. It’s a perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing — sip a cup of Darjeeling tea, enjoy the music, and soak in the colonial-era atmosphere. Truly one of the town’s most memorable dining experiences.

We had lunch here Good food. Tasty. And definitely well cooked. Ingredients are also genuine products. Kid friendly, Family friendly section is also there. This is an establishment from the colonial era. You definitely get that vibe here. The interior decoration is nostalgic to say the least. The facades, the windows, the floor, the outdoor seating will definitely leave you with memories.
Abhirup C — Google review
Glenarys, stands up to the hype. Atleast the aesthetics of the place and the food does. The service? Not so much. The restaurant is great. You get a good ambience, courtesy of the live music from the talented singers and musicians. We tipped one of the singers and he seemed genuinely happy and even thanked us. My friend, thank you for such a lovely performance! The place is nicely decorated, I'm sure everyone noticed that, but about the service, here's my main gripe. The person who handed us our menu and the one who took our order, didn't seem very professional. No greetings, no hello, what's your order today. The person just came up to the table without us calling for him, and stood there. We were a bit confused about what's going on but we were eventually successful in ordering our dinner. We got cheese balls for starters and they were delicious and for the main course we had plain rice and chicken reshmi butter masala. Each of those dishes were delicious and more than sufficient for 2 people, even 3 if you're not a big eater. The questionable service also comes in once you're at the bakery. Such a cumbersome experience packing something for the go, you'll have to run through hoops to have something packed and collected. The bill isn't included unless you ask for it and in our case, the wrong bill was, until I went up and picked up the correct bill myself. But again, the baked goods are 100% worth it. We had the Apple Pie, the Cheese Pie and the Lemon Tart. Each one fulfilled my expectations. Hats off to the chef!
Subhashis D — Google review
Glenary’s is an absolute gem in Darjeeling! The place has such a lovely old-world vibe — cozy interiors, cheerful staff, and that view of the hills that just makes you want to sit there for hours. Their sausages are out of this world, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. And the tea? Pure magic — the kind that makes you forget about time. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast, a quick snack, or just chilling with a pot of Darjeeling tea, Glenary’s hits the right note every single time. It’s got that perfect charm and comfort you look for in a hill station café. Totally worth every visit!
Saubhik D — Google review
Very good atmosphere, fireplace and live music 🎶 band with all the waiters in very smart black gorkha Dhakas. But the prices are slightly overpriced and the service is a little slow probably due to the heavy rush and bad weather ☁️. Very good chicken tikka masala.

Keventer's is a must-visit in Darjeeling, known for its traditional English breakfast and a variety of items like sandwiches, chicken salami, meat loafs, and pork sausages with eggs. The restaurant is located at the beginning of Nehru Road and has two floors. While Keventer's is popular, there are other eateries worth trying in Darjeeling to experience the local culture and ambiance.
Why not a perfect 5! Just awesome our experience was when we visited this iconic place in Darjeeling for a breakfast. It was a bit crowded though when we first entered the place. Due to the monsoon shower, the rooftop was not chosen by us. We sat indoors and ordered our breakfast. The hot pork platter they served can easily fill 2 stomachs and satisfy the taste buds without creating much pressure on the pocket. The omelette and other items are also available. The coffee was also nice and full of flavor. The garden section was missed by us in the morning. So decided to have a dessert run in the afternoon in the garden section with their famous milkshake and softy icecream. Though the climate was cloudy and foggy, we still enjoyed a few glimpses of the town from the beautifully decorated rooftop section. The staff behavior was good and service was really prompt even during rush hours.
J A — Google review
I'm telling you briefly I've been there quite a lot times, their food's tastes absolutely fantastic. They are very consistent when it is about the taste, just perfect. This is what you can call simply Darjeeling's best. Bonus! If you sit outside the view makes things more cherish (if the weather is good only).
Ranit M — Google review
My experience at Keventer’s was truly delightful! This place is a Darjeeling classic, especially if you’re looking to enjoy a hearty breakfast. Be prepared to line up early, though — the queue usually starts forming as early as 7:30 AM, which already says a lot about how popular this spot is. The ambiance is cozy, modern, and family-friendly, with two dining options: a beautiful rooftop seating area with stunning views of Darjeeling and a garden-side dining area for a more relaxed vibe. If you can, choose the rooftop — it’s the perfect spot to start your morning while soaking in the scenic views. The food was exceptional. We loved the meat platter so much that we actually ordered it twice! The menu is heavily inspired by traditional English breakfasts, which makes it a unique experience in Darjeeling. If I had to recommend just a couple of things, I’d say don’t miss their coffee — it’s a must-try — and definitely go for the meat platter, especially if you’re visiting with friends. The service was top-notch, and the staff were very attentive and friendly, making the overall experience even better. The prices are quite affordable, which is great considering the quality and portion sizes. Pro Tip: Try to get a seat on the rooftop area for the best experience — it’s the most beautiful place to enjoy breakfast in Darjeeling. Whether you’re solo, a couple, or traveling with friends and family, I highly recommend Keventer’s for a delicious meal and a relaxing time. It’s an absolute must-visit when in Darjeeling!

Great place to have a quick bite . More famous for breakfast I guess. We grabbed lunch and it was all empty . Veg options are limited but i had the veg burger which was good , my son had chicken nuggets which more like fried frozen ones. My husband had a chicken burger which was pretty average as well . Overall great place to chill !
Apoorva G — Google review
The vibe and the atmosphere, along with the food will make your day. Be noted that there is always a long line outside. The food tasted excellent. Do have any of their platter, don't forget the fluffy ice cream it is good too.
Surajit G — Google review
One of the most overhyped places in Darjeeling mall road. I visited this is place a couple of time, but the last time was bit disappointed. Every food in the pork platter was bit deep fried, wasn't suppose to be that deep fried. The ambience was too good, the view was mesmerizing ♥️
Furgwl H — Google review
If you are in Darjeeling, must have English breakfast in Keventer's. Also try their softy Rs.40. Wonderful view from the sitting area.
Rohan R — Google review
Keventer’s in Darjeeling is a classic spot that lives up to its charm. Their breakfast platter with sausages, eggs, and toast is comforting and delicious, especially when paired with a cup of hot chocolate or Darjeeling tea. The real highlight is the open terrace, where you can enjoy your meal with stunning views of the hills and cool mountain air. It’s the perfect place to soak in the town’s old-world vibe while enjoying a slow, satisfying meal. A must-visit for a relaxed start to your day in Darjeeling!

Shangrila Bar is a warm and inviting hotel with charming rooms that offer free breakfast and stunning mountain views. The restaurant, located in a heritage building, boasts beautiful interiors with arches and wooden accents, providing one of the best views in the area. Guests have praised the spacious and clean rooms, although some updates may be needed. The attentive staff received high praise for their excellent service and helpfulness.
The ambience is absolutely stunning, the food is impeccable and the music and service is brilliant. Thanks to Abhishek who served us today and thanks to the violinist who put on such an amazing music set🩷
Tanushree B — Google review
The restaurant is located in a fantastic spot with a great environment and breathtaking views. The ambiance is peaceful, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The location is easy to find, and the new building looks modern and inviting. However, the food was a big letdown. The dishes lacked flavor and freshness, and the overall quality was far from what we expected. If you’re coming here purely for the food, you might leave disappointed. It’s also worth mentioning that the restaurant has undergone renovations, moving from the old building to a completely new one. Some reviews and photos online might still show the previous structure, so don’t be confused when you see something entirely different. The new building is much more appealing, but unfortunately, the food doesn’t match the upgraded ambiance. If you’re visiting for the view and a calm environment, it’s a decent spot to spend some time. But if food quality is your priority, you may want to explore other options nearby. Hopefully, the restaurant can improve its menu to match the excellent location and stunning atmosphere.

This was my second visit to this spot, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The food was flavorful and clearly made with care. The location of this restaurant is very convenient and easy to locate. It is in the way to Glenarys from Darjeeling mall. The restaurant is located on the first floor. The interior is majestic with great seating capacity. They have live music as well. However, coming to food we weren't satisfied. Taste was okayish and the least scorer among all items would be the mixed fried rice. The music was also extremely loud. They have Indian, Chinese, Continental items in their menu. We had Chinese. Shangri-La Restaurant, Darjeeling – A Cozy Culinary Retreat Tucked away in the heart of Darjeeling, Shangri-La Restaurant is a charming blend of comfort, hospitality, and atmosphere that makes it a must-visit for anyone exploring the hills. With its rustic wooden interiors and warm, Tibetan-inspired decor, the restaurant exudes an old-world charm that immediately puts you at ease. What truly sets Shangri-La apart is the experience — relaxed, soulful, and unhurried. During our visit, we enjoyed a perfectly chilled beer paired with a delicious spread that included Squid Dry Fry, Chicken Grill Satay, Burnt Garlic Fried Rice, and Chilli Chicken. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, rich in flavor, and served with genuine warmth. Add to that the soothing mountain breeze and scenic hill views through the large windows, and you have a spot that feels both timeless and comforting. Nestled just a short 2-5 minute stroll from the bustling Chowrasta Mall on Nehru Road, Hasty Tasty is a delightful vegetarian restaurant that promises to take your taste buds on a journey across India. With an extensive menu featuring North Indian, Punjabi, Gujarati, and South Indian dishes alongside Italian favorites like pizza, there's something for everyone. Indulge in their scrumptious sandwiches or savor the delicious momos.
Crowded but good chapathi and paneer dish. Their masala tea is a show stopper. The owner is very cordial and ensures all customers are taken care well.

We ordered Chole bhature, the order came - the Bhatures (2) was humongous, accompanied with some slivers of onions and pickle. We were able to consume only one bhature each ( we had ordered two plates), the chole could do better, cooked a little more and gravy little tastier. Even at 10:45 -September -the place was empty. Good for a quick time on or from Chowrasta.

Very crowded. No customer service( self service). Food bland. The serving portion is inadequate and no refill is there. Very expensive as per quantity of food served. Had opted for Choley bhature, but choley served was only adequate for a single bhaura...when asked for a refill they first replied yes but later denied. Ambience is great but a little customer centricity is expected.

*Disappointing Experience* "Unfortunately, todays visit was a letdown. The restaurant didn't have chilli mushroom and sweet lassi, the cold drink options was not there in the menu, I had to settle for cold coffee instead. The Park Restaurant in Darjeeling, situated on Laden La road, is a unique establishment run by Deep, a former musician turned restaurateur. This popular eatery offers authentic North Indian dishes like chicken tikka masala and curries, as well as Thai delicacies such as chicken coconut soup and papaya salad. The restaurant's simple yet inviting ambiance has made it a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.
There are various famous food joints and restaurants in Darjeeling serving delicious and awesome food. Many of them are located near the mall road. And among them, although a little less known among tourists, The Park restaurant is a very good dining restaurant serving really good and tasty food. It is located very near to the Darjeeling Clock Tower on the downhill road. The ambience and interiors are quite nice and they serve a variety of food items. Price is medium and the staffs are courteous. Overall its a nice restaurant and a must visit for tourists visiting this beautiful hill town ❤️❤️

Ambiance is pretty good, setting area is also huge. We ordered manchow soup for starters. Soup was very basic. At the main course we ordered chicken fried rice & hot garlic chicken. Chicken fried rice : Rice was half cooked, lack of salt and taste was pretty basic. Hot garlic chicken : Gravy is not near to hot garlic, it's over sweeter and no taste of garlic flavour. Chicken was halfed before putting in the gravy.

Visited recently. This place is one of the best restaurants to have authentic Asian food. We tried the Thumbs Up, Paneer Chilli Dry, Crispy Corn, Chicken Ramen and Burnt Garlic Rice. Before coming to the food, let's talk about the restaurant. The interior is very traditional Asian looking with beautiful sculptures and paintings. The atmosphere is warm and chill. There is plenty of space for people and the restaurant is of two floors. You can take a lot of pics here. The service was fast, like our entire food came in 25-30 mins. The restaurant is very well-maintained, hygienic and clean. The food here is very simple. The prices are a little expensive than normal, but the taste makes it worth it. Coming to the food, the thumbs up tasted exactly like the thumbs up. The paneer chilli dry was very crispy and tasty. The paneer was fresh and it was perfectly coated. The crispy corn was crispy, juicy and also very simple, loved it. The presentation of the burnt garlic rice was nice, the taste was very simple and tasted best with the Manchurian gravy. But the dish I liked the most was the Chicken Ramen. You get Saucy Ramen with Fried Chicken, Cheese and Exotic vegetables. It was very unique and tasted brilliant. Overall, it was a great experience. Of you wanna try some authentic Asian food then you can definitely give this place a try. The staff is also very friendly. And do try the Ramen. Recimmended ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently visited The Park Restaurant in Darjeeling, and while it was a decent experience, there were a few things that could be improved. The restaurant has a cozy ambiance, and the service was friendly enough, but it didn’t stand out as exceptional. The food was good, but the portion sizes were quite small for the prices they charge. Given the rates, I expected more generous servings. The flavors were fine, but nothing that particularly wowed me. It’s an okay place if you're looking for a quick meal, but I felt it lacked the value for money that other places in Darjeeling offer.

Known for its Chinese and Thai food, its right opposite the landmark Clock Tower and its bright red hues of Chinese food won’t let you miss this restaurant. It has two floors and ample seating. It used to offer mountain views however, due to recent constructions it is not the case anymore. The staff here is friendly. The restaurant serves alcohol and has a decent bar menu. We had a couple of drinks here along with a Crispy Corn appetizer and Thai Street Style Veg Noodles with sauce.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE Went for dinner after seeing a few reviews that North Indian food is good. However, starting from staff behaviour to food everything was absolute dismal. They gave me a "half table" just beside the waste collection bin on the other side (see the attached video and photo). When I asked the waiter to adjust the table, he rudely stated that it would block their passage, where as there was a lot of space. I asked them to even shift me to an another table but they refused. The staff lacks professionalism, comeone man you are in a service industry. Coming to food, I ordered briyani, the moment I did I knew it was a blunder, given the place and restaurant type. But still that was not even 1% of what a briyani should be. They literally fried rice with chicken in a lot of oil, pathetic. Never going back nor would I recommend. If the manager is reading this, please take notes you are in service industry and in service people matter a lot.

Nepalese restaurant
Penang Restaurant is a long-standing establishment in Darjeeling, serving authentic Nepali cuisine along with Tibetan and Chinese dishes. Despite its unassuming entrance, the interior offers a polished and artsy ambiance. The spacious seating area and friendly staff contribute to the overall welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's signature dishes include Chilli Chicken Noodles and Coriander Fried Rice, which are highly recommended.
Visited Penang after nearly 5 years. The decor and interior has improved. The food was awesome as usual. Still one of the best places for Chinese food in Darj. Loved the Chilli pork. The chow and fried rice was delicious too. Special mention for the American Chpp Suey, though it could be a too sweet for some palettes. Al in all great food.

Located in a slightly congested area on a narrow alley where you need to climb about a few stairs. Location is nothing impressive. I had lunch with my familt at this restaurant. We were a group of three and it was a week day and mid Jan being off-season Being a week day lunch time, there was enough seats available. We were greeted at the gate and chose our seat. We ordered Fresh Lime Soda(₹70), Crispy Pork Cellari (₹320), Cantonese Chicken rice noodle (₹ 220 ), Chicken Grlic Fried rice(₹ 230) and Chicken Chilli Dry (₹ 350). Quantity of the preparations was descent. Pork was the best of the lot, nicely crispy with chopped Onions and capsicum. Other dishes are as usual, nothing special. Service was good. You may try if you are visiting Darjeeling.

Mainly a Nepali restaurant serving a variety of dishes with preference to Nepali cuisines. They have a number of famous pork dishes (although we didn't try any). Tried their Chicken Momos. Disappointed as per Darjeeling standards. Just an average one. A bit costly vis a vis quality and quantity

Penang restaurant is famous for the nepali thali. We ordered chicken thali and veg thali. The chicken thali had local chicken curry which was very tasty. The special dish was their gundruk which is a fermented leafy vegetable prepared like a soup. Really tasty. Service was prompt as well. Ambience honestly is nothing to talk about but it was clean. Cost was four hundred per person.

Good food, good service. Well managed restaurant with tasty food. Get your fill of the local food 😋 I tried pork momos, chicken momos, chicken hakka noodles and pork fry. Only the pork fry was oily but the food was tasty and filling.

One of the gem in darjeeling.Neat and clean restaurant kitchen. Food is Nepali and traditional style . I took fish and it was really good .The momo was good . Our team took mutton thali and chicken thali . If you are looking for bengali style mutton chicken , you will be disappointed. Their mutton pieces are with fatty skin , in every bowl of mutton they give chusta or similar piece. Overall a great restaurant, which has options for exotic Nepali food and options like fish for people like me

One might call this place a hidden gem. A little walk down the mall road towards Darjeeling station this won't be the first choice of many who go by outside appearances. Inside, however, this place is comfortably decked with a laidback charm and gentle instrumentals. The food is scrumptious and the bar menu is decent as per the price tag. The crowd mostly is local though one never feels out of joint. Penang should be among the top priorities for those who want to experience Darjeeling as it actually is, unadorned with all artificialities, resplendent with her own beautiful people, music and food.

We came here a few years ago and loved the thali. But this time around it felt like the food quality had gone down. The meat was not very tender and the caramel custard was grainy. It wasn't the same experience as we had earlier which had drawn us to this place.

Nestled near Chowk Bazaar in Darjeeling, Noryang Tibetan Kitchen is a delightful gem for those seeking an authentic taste of Tibetan cuisine. This cozy eatery is renowned for its traditional offerings, including mouthwatering momos and the beloved thukpa, a hearty noodle soup with deep cultural roots in Tibet's Amdo region. The inviting atmosphere features an open kitchen where diners can watch their meals being prepared, adding to the overall experience.
Visited the place recently. Tried some of their Tibetan dishes. Everything was excellent. All their preparations are freshly made once you order something so be prepared to wait for some time before you get your order but the taste and freshness is worth the wait. A must visit place for those who love Tibetan or Chinese food. Some recommendations for must try items - Momos, Chiken Thukpa, Shapta with Tingmo and Chilly Chicken. Noodles and fried rice are also good. A bonus, the prices are very reasonable. If you are visiting just be mindful that there is no parking as is the problem with most of the places in Darjeeling. There is a separate paid parking in the next lane where you need to park and then walk down to the restaurant.

We went there for dinner. The food was amazing . It is little bit away from mall road but for that crowd will be less. Service is super fast , place is neat and clean and you can see what you going to eat ( kitchen is visible and they will cook almost in front of you) . Must recommend. One of the best Chinese/ Tibetan restaurant in darjeeling.

Those who are visiting Darjeeling or planning the same in the coming days, please do visit this Tibetan Restaurant, not far from Mall road, tucked in the little corner of rock ville road, offering Tibetan dishes. We had Chicken Thukpa, Chicken Choupsey and Chicken Momo. Taste of chicken choupsey was too good with ultra lite Chicken Thukpa added more flavour to the already overloaded tastebuds. Their service was satisfactory and ambience was also lovely.

Nathmull's Tea Shop, located in Darjeeling Mall, offers a wide variety of top-quality teas, including the famous Darjeeling first flush. The Sunset Lounge provides a stunning view of the hills, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy your tea while taking in the breathtaking scenery. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their tea selection, offering recommendations and even conducting a mini tea serving ceremony.
It's a very good destination for Tea lovers. It is situated at Darjeeling Mall. Shop owners behaviour is very good, he explained to us very well. You will get different types of Darjeeling Tea at reasonable price. Purchased one First Flush and Second Flush Darjeeling tea. UPI/Card Payment is accepted here.

The staff was extremely informative and helpful. Even with our vague requests, they managed to come up with the right suggestions from among their wide variety of tea leaves. The shop wasn't crowded and if you chose the right time, you could drink great tree with a view of the mountain ranges. Pretty good darjeeling tea experience.

Amazing Place. Became one of our favorite places to visit in Darjeeling. The staff is quite nice and gave us time to explain the different varieties of teas(we were ignorant). Try the Highland Tea here(their suggestion, became the best we tasted ever). They serve the tea in a nice fashion and we had sort of a mini tea serving ceremony held each time. The pastries are quite nice to go alongside the tea. Pro Tip: After entering, you will find a little stairs just after the cash counter, go downstairs to get the best views(won't be disappointed, I promise). Note: We went during the off season.

This is Natmull's outlet in Mall. They seemed to have moved from the other side of the Mall to where they are now, near to Cafe Coffee Day. Now you get a clear view of the dark green hills and if the weather is clear, you get a view of snow capped mountain as well. Natmull's, as you can expect, has a great range of tea. Indulge yourself in trying few of those before deciding on what you may take away for home. Their bakery items are good too. Also, you may buy gifts - tea, tea pots etc.
Avijit D — Google review
Nice place for a tea lover who understands tea which isnt me. So they allowed us to taste two types of of tea to help us make a choice. The ambience is nice for a coffee shop and the staff helpful. They also send tea via mail order if you email them back.

Sunset Lounge of Nathmull’s is located at Chowrasta at the end of the Mall. One can also call it The Tea Bar as you get to sample a variety of Darjeeling teas before deciding which one to buy. They have a bewildering array of Black, Green and White Darjeeling teas varying in price from ₹400 per kg to ₹30000 per kg. One can also sample the aroma, texture and colour of the tea at the display counter. We relaxed in the Sunset Lounge, which had glass top round tables and cane chairs, adjacent to the Tea Bar, and sampled a cup of their Green Tea which they served up in a transparent tea cup, at a nominal price. One can also order snacks like muffins or pastries to go with the tea. On a clear day one can get an excellent view of the Kanchenjunga mountain and the sunset from the window. One can also buy some memorabilia and tea accessories like decorative and useful tea pots and cups in ceramic as well as metal. In addition there are fancy strainers and Tea Cosies. We purchased some packets of Green and Black teas, and souvenirs like fridge magnets and keychains with the tea motif, as small gifts for our friends back home.

Dekevas Restaurant, run by a Tibetan family, is a charming eatery in Darjeeling that offers a delectable mix of Tibetan, Chinese, and Continental cuisine. From comforting porridge to hearty burgers, sandwiches, noodles, and soups, this cozy spot has something for everyone. Whether you're craving vegetarian or non-vegetarian fare, Dekevas provides an array of options at budget-friendly prices.
Dekevas is truly a gem in Darjeeling! The food quality is absolutely top-notch, fresh, flavorful, and served with great care. Their chicken bibimbap bowl and kimchi fried rice is hands down the best I’ve ever had — perfectly balanced, hearty, and bursting with taste. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are attentive and welcoming. A must-visit if you’re in Darjeeling and want authentic, delicious food.
Pratibha P — Google review
Visited Dekevas Restaurant after hearing great reviews, but the Dragon Chicken Bao didn’t meet expectations. The bao was soft and nicely made, but the filling was overly sweet — lacked the spicy, balanced flavor I hoped for. Good ambience and service, but this dish was a letdown.
Gaurav ( — Google review
I visited Dekevas in September 2025 and tried the Chicken Japanese Ramen (₹280) and Chicken Steamed Momos (8 pieces – ₹170). The quality and quantity were satisfying, and the taste was quite authentic. Overall, I was happy with the food and would definitely recommend visiting. The restaurant is conveniently located in a prominent spot – just beside Kunga Restaurant and opposite Kev's. The seating area is a bit congested, but it gives off a cozy, homely vibe, much like a friendly family gathering in the hills. A nice place to enjoy authentic flavors in Darjeeling.
Pritam B — Google review
I was intrigued by the Korean word “식당” on the sign, so I decided to check this place out. The restaurant offers a variety of Korean and Tibetan dishes. I ordered the pork bibimbap, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The meat was tough and had a strong smell. One of the vegetables possibly carrot was extremely salty, to the point that I could feel texture of actual salt crystals, making it hard to finish the meal. If the server or the owner asked why I left the food unfinished, I would have gladly shared my thoughts in person. I feel a bit sorry to leave this feedback in a review instead, but I hope it’s taken as constructive.
Donggeon K — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely slow and the staff seemed completely unattentive. The food was mediocre at best, but the most serious issue was finding multiple hairs in our chicken momos. It was an unacceptable and clear sign of poor kitchen hygiene. Between the bad service and the unsanitary food, we definitely will not be returning. I would advise others to dine elsewhere.
Triashis R — Google review
This small eatery is very popular and needs no introduction. The place being small has a waiting time which depends on the time one is visiting. Has few tables but the food is served hot and fresh. It's affordable and pocket friendly. The people serving are also very warm. Would definitely visit again.

It’s a cute little place on the Mall Road . Food is amazing and very authentic and true to the taste! Service is quick and easy ! Food is prepared pretty quickly and served hot ! We tried the bibimbap the first time and it was amazing .

Very good food. Clean and cozy. Variety of noodles, fried rice, gluten free glass noodle, shapta, bao. Cooked in Tibetan, Korean with local flavours added. Meats contain chicken, pork and beef — you can have your choice. The open kitchen gives you a glimpse of what food they are preparing for you. Reasonably priced. Note of caution: Payment only by cash, no cards or UPI. Digital India doesn’t work here. 😀

Sandwich was just okay. Aloo paratha was below average. The biggest letdown was tea and hot chocolate. In places like darjeeling, you'd expect genuine tea, not machine-made abomination. The worst part is they don't specify it's machine-made. The service was slow even though the spot was not packed. The servers/cooks seemed slow to understand, and prepare the food. Could be an option for people who prefer to eat at a completely vegetarian spot, which is difficult to find in darjeeling. I wouldn't visit again, though

It is One of the very few (or Probably the only) pure veg Cafes in this area. Though the staff was not so welcoming but the food was nice. We ordered Dosa and Aloo Paratha. Only machine made Tea, Coffee is served which was again a let down. Could be a safe option for pure vegetarians.

One of the only pure veg cafes around the area and it actually serves quite good food, especially the pancakes with chocolate sauce(highly recommend) and the coffee (highly recommend), the Darjeeling tea was quite good as well. Also had their chole bhature and pav bhaji which wasn't the best, it lacked spice tbh. The white sauce pasta was good(quite home-y), the margarita pizza was another good item we had. Talking about the service, they were quite fast but the woman on the register counter wasn't as welcoming.
Anannya B — Google review
Frank Ross Cafe and cafe with American name, and prices, but a total disaster. 4 friends and I went there for lunch, as we were hungry. It w as a total chaos. We didn't know and were not informed that the order has to be placed at the counter, paid for, and then collected. So totally self-service. I had to go back to the counter to figure that out. After placing our order, I observed one of the wait staff come and clear the next table in an interesting and efficient fashion. He just used a wipe cloth to clean the table and throw it on the floor. I had to ask the manager for someone to come and sweep up the floor. Another guest of mine observed, one of the wait staff lick his fingers and primp up his hair while checking himself out. The person making the paneer pizza, shredded paneer on the pizza dough, store bought I am sure, and then picked up the paneer that had fallen on the counter and put it back on the pizza. While there we observed another interesting interaction, where one of the guest complained about the sweet corn and vegetable soup that didn't have any vegetables. Unfortunately, one of my guest had ordered the same. So when it came she had to search for the vegetables and the sweet corn, as it was so sparse. Definitely avoid this place, if you can.
Laxman R — Google review
Ordered for Mushroom soup. Instead of serving fresh they served Knorr packaged soup worth ₹40 and charged us ₹170 for it without information that it is packaged food. When I recognised the taste and confronted the lady in the reception, she completely ignored us and behaved rudely. We also ordered for complete Indian breakfast with the soup which includes tea with it. But the counter refused us the tea saying we did not pay for it. Cheating the public!

We ordered dosa and it was very tasty, the sambar and chutney was equally good. But one onion mashala dosa would not satisfy your appetite.

Their extensive veg menu sounds great for vegan people, but the price to quality/quantity ratio will not put a smile on their face. We tried their Pan cakes with honey and butter toast. Both of them were okay but really expensive. Also, they don't have a washroom which is quite shocking.

Probably the best vegetarian momos in Darjeeling. They’re juicy, and the chutney is spicy - makes for a great combination. Frequented by school kids, which should also tell you about its VFM. They serve both steamed and fried momos. Outside and indoor seating are both available, and if the weather is favourable you can get a good view of the mountains. Awesome cafe. The old lady there was too sweet and the taste is marvelous with just a simple lower price. We took black coffe, tea, pancake with honey Thukpa and chow wai wai. The wai and pancake was just yum being homemade. This place has a nice scenario available as well.

Nawangs Restaurant is a cozy, unassuming eatery tucked away behind Kevs in Darjeeling. With an open kitchen and just four tables, it exudes a humble, old-fashioned charm. The menu features Nepali and Tibetan dishes like chicken momo, egg chowmein, and pork curry. Visitors rave about the melt-in-your-mouth pork curry and well-cooked chili pork. The warm hospitality of the owners adds to the homely atmosphere.
This is a restaurant where you can feel relaxed and relaxed. It's a small shop with four tables, and although it has an old-fashioned atmosphere, you can feel the cleanliness. There is an English menu. Tibetan and Indian cuisine. Chicken and lamb too. I probably can't drink alcohol. Tibetan Buddhist reliefs are modestly displayed, giving it a simple and nice atmosphere. The female owner is kind and maintains a reasonable distance. Darjeeling milk tea is delicious. (20 rupees) On the day I visited, it was closed at 8:30 pm. A small, cozy eatery. Though the space is quite small, only four tables and assorted chairs with them. The owner is quite humble and well behaved. Just stumbled upon it during a lazy afternoon while roaming the streets of Darjeeling. Had a long talk with the owner while eating. Ordered Pork Thukpa and Chicken Thukpa. The food was delicious, amount of meat in the Chowmein was adequate. They offer trekking tours as well, bounced back some ideas regarding that too. The trekking tours offered by them are both in West Bengal as well as in Sikkim. It was a small food joint where Nepali and Tibetan foods were available, we tried their chicken momo, egg chowmein, egg fried rice, dry chilli chicken, chilli pork dry and pork curry. The foods were beyond expectation! One of the best pork curry I tried there, the pieces just melted in my mouth it was too yummy, chili pork was very well cooked and equally delicious, dry chilli chicken was a bit different from other places, I liked it very much, and lastly the momo was also excellent. I would love to recommend this place to everyone who like to try good food in cheap price in Darjeeling. If you can ignore the ambience this is one of the best place to have Nepali and Tibetan Dishes. The owners were very very welcoming and also friendly. Really liked the place. Hope to meet you soon.

We were drawn in by the retro-style exterior, but overall, the food was a bit disappointing. In particular, the chicken momo had pieces of ground chicken bone in it, so my friend and I had to stop after just a couple of bites and unfortunately couldn’t finish it. The thukpa reminded me of a Korean-style radish leaf soup (시래깃국) which I personally enjoyed, but those unfamiliar with its herbal aroma might find it a bit off putting. The fried noodles were okay. The owners were kind and the atmosphere was nice, but sadly, I wouldn’t be able to strongly recommend this place to others.

Chicken momo was soft, moist and served hot. Dada was polite and friendly. It was nice having food from here. Also had fried rice and chilli chicken but did not like the taste of both. Fried rice was bland and chilli chicken was not spicy at all.

It's an old local eatery of Darjeeling. We have ordered fried faale and thukpa. Those were utterly delicious.

It’s a hidden gem in Darjeeling. If you want to try something different than popular restaurant then it’s worth the try. Very small and cozy place. Owner of this restaurant is very sweet and most importantly the food is delicious.. Must try: chicken/pork momo, thukpa, shaphalley. Pocket pinch 600-800/- for two

Absolutely loved my visit to Nawang Restaurant in Darjeeling, right near Mall Road. This little gem packs a big punch in flavor and warmth. First the vibe: the space is cozy and compact, but somehow it feels instantly like home. It’s the kind of place where you’re greeted with friendly smiles, and the intimate seating makes every dining moment feel personal and relaxed. Don’t be put off by the size—the atmosphere is charming and incredibly inviting. Now the food: authentic Tibetan at its best. Each bite carries a comforting, authentic taste that reminded me of home-cooked meals, but with a distinctive hill-town twist. We tried the chicken curry with roti and rice, and it was a perfect balance of spice, depth, and tenderness. The chicken momo is a must-try—succulent filling, perfect steam, and a flavor that defines the “forever favorite” status for many locals and visitors alike. If you’re in Darjeeling and craving truly tasty, comforting Tibetan dishes, this is the place to go. The quality of the ingredients and the generous portions make you feel you’re getting authentic value. Highly recommend going for their momo and the chicken curry—you’ll leave with a happy belly and a smile. Short version for a quick post: Nawang, near Mall Road, Darjeeling — tiny, cozy, and absolutely homely. Authentic Tibetan flavors that hit the spot. Must-try: chicken momo and chicken curry with roti/rice. Highly recommended!

The staff is doing great ,but we had to stand in the queu for so long then enter and wait again for another 40 min for just momos that ended up not so great tastes bland no seasoning just salt other than that shape was good and well steamed ...i don't know if we came in a clogged hour but that's how it went

Family restaurant
King Thai Hotel And Restaurant (SUPER MARKET) is a charming eatery in the Chotta Bhalukhop area of Kalimpong, offering a delightful mix of Thai, Chinese, Nepali, and Bengali cuisine. Despite its name, it primarily serves Chinese dishes along with a selection of Nepali and Bengali specialties. The restaurant's location at the town square near the market entrance makes it easily accessible for visitors. Guests can request customized spice levels for their dishes to suit their preferences.
Situated on the upper floor of the super market, the large windows of the restaurant provide a good view of the busy roads below, as well as allow fresh air to flow freely... Quite spacious, well decorated... Fast service, staff are polite... Food tasted good too... Good place for spending time with friends and family...

This restaurant is located in the centre of the city. They served good food . I ordered pork sapta. It was average. But chicken soup, tawa roti, and paneer preparation were amazing. They take their last order at 8:30 pm. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant atmosphere was amazing.
Rainbow E — Google review
It's a nice cozy place, but the food quality is not really that good. It's more like average or in some cases bad. We have ordered some chicken dishes but the chicken are deep fried which turns it into very hard to chew. The location is perfect. Really hope they improve their food quality a bit. They don't really have special dishes from the chefs as such. Ambience is good for family. But again for the food it's a thumbs down.
Sarit H — Google review
As I am from Gangtok and this was my 1st experience in Kalimpong town. The ambiance was too old and faded, seems not painted since decade. Sofa and chairs was of primitive types. Overall restaurants was old and not maintained. Staff was well and responsive. It was good experience. Edible was fine. Not too costly. It's good to go with friends and families.
Pravesh C — Google review
Maybe it's the best place in the town to hang out. This restaurant is situated at the center of the Kalimpong. The ambience is nice, sitting arrangements are very comfortable, they have offered a variety of foods and drinks and price is moderate. But don't expect much than this. The taste of the foods isn't good enough and the quality and quantity is not value for money. Don't not try any of the rice items at this place, they have mixed noodles with the rice and called it rice-noodles! All you can do over there is just to have a glass of beer and enjoy the ambience as well.
Indrani S — Google review
In the heart of the market, has its own hotel for accommodation. The staffs are courteous, nice ambience. The food needs a lot of improvement. Had veg mushroom soup and chicken combo. The soup was kinda okay, nothing special. The combo want not nice, too spicy
Maitrayee P — Google review
The waiters are very nice, helpful and polite. The place is big with a nice bar, and some antiques to look at... it is In the heart of the town yet peaceful. The food is not bad but spicy. The cocktails are very good, considering the fact that Kalimpong is a small town. Rooms are affordable, clean, hygentic. The restaurant is not very expensive but the service is a little slow but it is acceptable as the food is mostly fresh.
Kritika P — Google review
Considering Kalimpong pubs it's pretty good. The ambience is all laid back and retro pub kind with old school music. There is a provision for dj but we weren't lucky. The food is spicy and tasty with pocket friendly booze rates. Only expect city view from the windows. Hookah is not available if your are expecting. Locals considering as a family restro come bar.

Art Cafe in Kalimpong is a bohemian-style venue located on a hillside, offering global cuisine and coffee with stunning mountain views. Founded by local residents, Pravesh Chhetri and Yachna Rizal, this cafe features an adaptable design with indoor and outdoor seating. The open-air space provides a picturesque view of the Kanchenjunga along with light jazz music in the background.
Please don't see the bad reviews. The wait time could be a bit long but the food is great and the place is amazing. Carry a book or a notebook to pass the time. Enjoy the music and enjoy the leisure time to relax :)

Warning ⚠️: This place is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! It will set a high standard of food, drinks, service, and ambience that will be hard to match anywhere. The staff is wonderful, sweet, and highly professional. The cafe is full at times and the promptness and precision with which the staff here manages no mistake is absolutely wonderful, shows their experience. Kudos to their ethic. Beside wonderful service, who doesn't love a good pasta/burger and a lovely iced americano with Etta James, Pink Floyd, and Jazz playing in background while you have mountains in front of you? If this is what you want, I cannot get tired of recommending this place. Thank you for a wonderful experience in Kalimpong and such high standards that most cafes in the country would only envy.

Excellent hotel right in the heart of Kalimpong town. The rooms are well maintained, comfortable to stay and has all basic amenities. The hotel has its own parking space which is rare in hill stations. There are a lot of cafes and pubs in walking distance from the hotel. The staff are very polite and the owner is a fine gentleman who is always available and very professional. Would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Kalimpong.

Restaurant
Ara Restaurant cum Bar, nestled within the Bellevue Hotel in Darjeeling, is a top dining spot offering an extensive selection of cocktails, mocktails, and beverages. The menu features North Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisine. As night falls, Ara transforms into a vibrant party destination with live music and a lively atmosphere. Situated just behind the Mall fountain, it's the perfect place to unwind and enjoy good food along with your favorite drinks.
If you’re looking for a place that perfectly balances great food, drinks, and evening entertainment, ARA Restaurant Cum Bar is a standout in Darjeeling’s Mall Road scene. With live music from 6 PM to 10 PM, the atmosphere becomes electric—just right for winding down the day or kicking off a fun night. ⸻ What Makes It Special • Ambience & Location: Nestled on The Mall, Nehru Road, just behind the fountain at Chowrasta and inside Bellevue Hotel, it has lovely views of the hustle outside and a calming, stylish interior inside. Sit upstairs to enjoy the live band, down below for quieter chats. • Live Music (6-10 pm): The live band adds real charm—there’s energy without being overwhelming, good enough to feel lively but not so loud it drowns conversations. It really turns the place into one of the best evening hangout spots. • Food & Drinks: They offer a mix of North Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisine. Starters like Chicken Tikka Kebab and Paneer Chilli seem to be crowd favourites. Cocktails and mocktails are well crafted; drink prices are reasonable for the sort of place it is. Some reviews do mention that the food quality and portions occasionally vary. • Service & Value: Overall, people find the staff friendly and attentive, especially in the early evening. The value for money is good given the location, ambience, music, and food. A few reviews mention slow service during peak times, or some menu items being unavailable. ⸻ What Could Be Better • Consistency in food (taste, portion, variety) could be improved. Some guests felt the main courses were underwhelming compared to the starters. • Drink availability: sometimes certain popular drinks or brands aren’t in stock. That can be a letdown when expecting a specific cocktail or beer. • Noise level upstairs during live music can get loud — if you prefer a quieter evening, better to request ground floor seating. ⸻ Overall Impression I’d rate ARA Restaurant Cum Bar a solid 5 out of 5 (if everything goes well: good food, live music, and attentive service). It’s one of the go-to spots in Darjeeling for an evening out—especially between 6-10pm, when live music lifts the mood. If I were you, I’d book a table upstairs for that time so you can soak up the full experience.

We popped in here looking for a snack and some drinks after we were tired and cold from walking around in the dark for a while. We feel like we wasted our money and we ended up buying alcohol and snacks, which we took back to our room for dinner. We tried to order Old Monk (rum) and Coke. They didn’t have any rum. So we tried for the Carlsberg (beer) - all out. We were going to just leave but my son had ordered a plate of chicken wings, which is not something you want to order here or in India in general, but kids don’t understand that. So French fries and Budweiser was added in. The fries were great! Better than the last place we ordered them, but the wings were awful. They were soggy and skinny. Felt like there was more skin than meat. We didn’t even eat them. Plus we couldn’t even hear each other over the karaoke, even though we were way in the back. Just wasn’t a good night for us at this place.

What a wonderful place! The ambience is so good. There were two singers who sang so well. Also the food was amazing. It’s at the prime location and very nice. Best would be the chicken tikka kebab. The main course is not that tasty but still okay. Starters are very delicious and staff service is good. Interiors are great.

Ideal place for party lovers.. good food at affordable price. With live music, most of them are dance numbers. You'll definitely enjoy this place if you are an extrovert. But not recommended for families with children. Otherwise good.

Beautifuly Located on the turning on mall road overlooking the large platform on mall. This place offers a nice ambience for a relaxing evening. There is live music on the first floor and an open space if you wanna shake your hips. If you need a quite time then you can sit at the ground floor. The price of alcohol is okayish and not super high like most other joints on the block. The food is good in taste and the quantity is also nice. We ordered Chinese mainly. Like mixed fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. We liked the taste. The ambience is really groovy and the walls are by pictures of some of the greatest musical personalities. The remain open for around 11pm.

We visited this place for lunch. Got a table with a nice view. The food here was average. We had: Veg thupka- This lacked flavour and I would not recommend Chole with lachha paratha- The parathas were great. The chole was good too. I would recommend this as a safe option for vegetarians The extensive non veg menu can be a put off for pure vegetarians. Staff is very sweet and helpful.

I recently visited this restaurant, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The place is stunning, with a beautiful ambiance and a very clean swimming pool. They’ve recently added new areas, which adds to the charm. The staff here are extremely humble and the hospitality is top-notch. They also organize birthday venues for those looking to celebrate a special occasion, which is a fantastic option. The food is simply delicious and the service is impeccable. A charming spot nestled beside the river, Chillout has potential to be a lovely getaway. The food was enjoyable, and the swimming pool adds a nice touch to the ambiance. However, reaching the place can be a bit tricky due to the narrow approach, and ongoing renovation work does affect the overall experience. With some polish, it could easily become a go-to destination in Dudhia. For now, it’s a decent stop with room to grow.

If you are in Darjeeling and are on the lookout for a property with a great view and ample parking space, I suggest look no further. This property offers incredible views of the mighty Himalayas whilst being very luxurious as well. Stayed here for two nights while riding with my friends through Darjeeling. The approach terrain is a bit tough but the property is equally rewarding. The food here is a tad bit expensive but really tasty and service of the staff is really the star of the show. The rooms are clean and there is ample space in the property to take a walk too. Looking forward to stay here once again.

A Memorable Stay at a Beautiful Heritage Property We stayed at Hotel Arcadia Heritage Resort in Darjeeling in mid-April 2025, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The resort is located uphill, offering a spectacular view of the Kanchenjunga mountain range right from our room — something we’ll always remember. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained, and the overall heritage charm of the property really added to the experience. It’s a 150-year-old property rich in character, with elegant architecture, vintage-style furnishings, and a warm, inviting lobby and dining area. We stayed for four nights and five days, and this was our toddler’s first hill holiday — she’s just one and a half years old — and even she thoroughly enjoyed the surroundings. The staff were extremely courteous, attentive, and quick to respond to any requests we had. The food was excellent, and the resort is conveniently located about 3 km from Darjeeling Mall, making it easy to explore nearby tourist spots while still enjoying the calm and quiet of the hills. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricier side, but considering the ambiance, location, view, and service, it was well worth it. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this resort to anyone planning a peaceful and scenic getaway in Darjeeling. We’re already looking forward to returning someday. Would you like a shorter version as well for platforms like TripAdvisor or Zomato?

We checked in on Jan 30, 2025. Room 103. The road to the hotel was done, but on arrival, we were told only the bungalow had a bathtub, which was occupied by the owner's friends. One of the reasons for selecting the location was the show of bathtub in its amenities. Our room had a broken shower, flickering lights, and loose floorboards. That evening, the power went out, and the bed warmers stopped working. We were moved to another room (104) where things worked, but the next morning, there was still no electricity, so no WiFi. By 11 AM, even the geyser, lights and bed warmers stopped working. We had to wait until noon for buckets of warm water, and when I entered the bathroom, there were worms under the stool. The food was good, staff is polie and accommodating, and view is great ; but maintenance work made the experience noisy. They stated that most hotel in Darjeeling would be under maintenance in Jan end and Feb. We weren’t informed about this when we called before booking—despite mentioning it was our first wedding anniversary and wanting a great experience. We booked through a third party that is coordinating with us for an early checkout. The hotel understood the issue and we're cordial. The issues should resolve soon since they were already under maintenance.

My stay at Arcadia Heritage Resort in Darjeeling was nothing short of spectacular, offering a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and breathtaking views. Nestled in the serene Dali area, this resort is a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of central Darjeeling, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The views of the Kanchenjunga range from the balcony were simply mesmerizing, The sound of the Darjeeling toy train passing nearby added a delightful, nostalgic touch to the experience. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and well-equipped with thoughtful amenities like cozy bedding, a flat-screen TV, and complimentary toiletries. The staff were exceptional—warm, courteous, and always ready to assist with a smile. The hospitality here truly elevates the stay, with the team going above and beyond to accommodate special requests, including dietary needs for my family. The food was a highlight, with delicious options like handmade paneer pizza, shahi paneer, and local specialties served at the charming treehouse café or in-room dining. The breakfast buffet was diverse, featuring both Indian and Western dishes, and the organic handmade tea served as a welcome drink was a lovely touch. The resort’s ambiance is cozy yet elegant, with a well-maintained heritage charm and modern facilities like free Wi-Fi and parking. The outdoor seating and sun terrace were perfect for soaking in the stunning mountain views. Its proximity to attractions like the Japanese Peace Pagoda (a steep but manageable 20-minute walk) and Batasia Loop (1.2 km away) makes it convenient for sightseeing. The only minor drawback was the shower pressure, which could be improved for a more refreshing experience. Additionally, Darjeeling’s traffic situation can be challenging, especially during peak hours, and the resort’s location on a steep uphill road may require a cab or the hotel’s arranged transport, as some drivers hesitate to navigate the incline. However, the resort’s staff efficiently arranged drivers, making this less of an issue.Overall, Arcadia Heritage Resort is a gem in Darjeeling, offering exceptional value for money, outstanding service, and unforgettable views. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Queen of Hills and would love to return for another memorable stay.

The chinese restaurant Hongkong Chinese Restaurant is located in the middle of the main market area of Kalimpong, and on the second floor of a building. It has a few window-side tables that overlook the crowded road below, but it's not worth missing if you don't get one. The food is typical chinese fare and isn't anything special.
Nice place to have lunch / dinner near the bus stand at Kalimpong. Food is affordable and tasty. Budget friendly restaurant with a family ambience. The place is calm and not very crowded. Service is quick and efficient. Their Chowmein is nice and they have tasty pork items. You get cold drinks and bottled water as well. They have a clean washroom facility.
Sohini B — Google review
If you’ve been missing the old China Garden, Hong Kong Restaurant is the place to go. Located just opposite China Garden, this spot brings back that familiar taste and vibe that many of us grew up loving. The menu is quite similar, and the flavors are comforting and authentic, just like how they used to be. Portions are generous, making it great value for money. The only downside is that orders can take a bit of time, so be prepared to wait—but honestly, the food is worth it. The seating is simple and old-school, exactly like the classic setup at the old China Garden, which adds to the charm and nostalgic feel. One important note: they don’t accept online payments, so make sure to carry cash when you visit. Overall, if you’re looking for a no-frills, satisfying Chinese meal with a taste of the past, Hong Kong Restaurant won’t disappoint.

On the expensive side. I felt that the quality did not justify the prices. That said, the food was quite tasty, but some of the dishes I ordered were not as good as I have had at other restaurants

"The Locals - Authentic Nepali Cuisine" is a charming spot in Darjeeling that offers a delightful experience of local Tibetan and Nepali food. Wonderful new spot on the map of Darjeeling. Very friendly service and delicious cuisine. Highly recommend to try local tongba. Even though location on the 3rd floor may be discouraging I recommend climbing up. It was definitely one of best meals in nice atmosphere of all the places that I have had pleasure to visit.
Konrad D — Google review
The ambience was lovely. The owner and staffs are very friendly and cool. You must try the nepali thali, we tried the superhot nepali chilli. But what you must definitely try is the traditional nepali drink 'Tongba', a millet based alcoholic beverage. The rates are reasonable and this is close to the Mall.
Anirudha C — Google review
Really good food prepared with love. You can tell that this place is different from the myriad restaurants in Darjeeling out to make money off of tourists. The brothers who run the place put their heart and soul into the place. Chicken momo and Nepali Thali recommended. Didn’t get to try the Mutton Thali which is only available on Sundays but that should also be great. The location very hidden for tourists and I had to phone them to show me where the show is. I think they will get more customers if they move their location for sure, but maybe in the future.

Darjeeling street food is a delightful culinary adventure that every traveler should embark on. Renowned for its mouthwatering specialties, this vibrant scene features iconic dishes like momo dumplings and aloo dum, alongside an array of fried noodles, rice, and savory snacks such as bread pakodas and spicy samosas.
Iconic food paradise in the city, variety of tasty Street food, and a major tourist attractions, all along the busy mall road towards chourasta, mostly non veg haven for meat lovers, there are veggie items as well, must visit and highly recommended.
Samagata R — Google review
During my recent visit to Darjeeling, I had the pleasure of exploring the vibrant and exciting street food scene of this beautiful town. One of the most memorable experiences I had was eating Chowmein late at night, surrounded by the bustling energy of the town. It was well past midnight when my friends and I decided to go out and explore the streets of Darjeeling. Despite the late hour, we were surprised to find that the town was still alive and buzzing with activity. Street vendors were still open, and the smells of delicious food filled the air. We stumbled upon a small street vendor selling Chowmein and decided to give it a try. As we stood there, eating the steaming hot noodles under the dim streetlights, we were struck by the energy and vibrancy of the town. People were still out and about, enjoying the night and each other's company. What I loved most about the experience was how the street food brought people together. We were standing there, eating alongside locals and travelers alike, all of us united in our love of delicious food and the excitement of the town at night. The Chowmein itself was fantastic, with perfectly cooked noodles and a delicious blend of spices and vegetables. But what really made the experience special was the atmosphere and energy of the town. It was a reminder that food is not just about sustenance, but also about community and connection.

The restaurant is not well managed. The toilets are not maintained and dirty. The food is not good. We ordered chicken and pork fries and both were hard and not well cooked. When asked about the food quality we were told that the chef is getting impacted due to the temperature that's rising during the day hence he is not able to put good efforts in cooking. I don't know the name of the guy who served us but he was amazing, very patient. We went there during our travel back to njp Station. Our driver suggested this place. We liked the place. Family friendly place, staffs are very polite. The manager behavior is so nice, polite and tried his best to arrange all asks by children. Environment is beautiful, only negative thing noticed little space issue..table placement little congested. Food was excellent. We tried different mocktails, kebabs, chicken and mutton side dishes with naan and khulcha. Chicken and mutton dishes was so tasty. Only thing i didn't like the chur chur naan and amrisari kulcha. Both are not up to the mark. We can far better chur chur naan and amrisari kulcha at any dhaba. Their chef need to check this preparation.

Definitely one of the best places for North Indian/Delhi style food in Siliguri. Ordered the butter chicken with butter Naan/Tandoori roti with seekh kabab. The butter was sinfully delicious 😋. The kababs were great too. The Naan was buttery and went along great with the butter chicken. The place was almost packed even around 9.00 pm which is a positive sign about any restaurant. The orders took time but were worth the wait. The service was polite and friendly. The ambience was great too for a family restaurant. Will be back for more.

Cinnamon terrace @ The Marriott in Siliguri is definitely worth checking out once at least. The view from the 14th floor is especially great at night when you can see the lights of the city and even the hills on a clear night. There is AC seating inside also if required. Items are high priced as would be expected from such a well located place. There appears to be too many servers who seem to be more worried about positive reviews that mention their names rather than giving the guests their own space. One thing they didn't teach them in their hospitality training is when to step back and stop being over attentive. I hope they are paying attention to this review now too 😉 The food quality and presentation is very good as expected with some innovative fusion food also available. If you're common folk like me, it's worth just one visit. I will come back in winter though on a clear day when the snow might just be visible.

For those with a sweet tooth, there are pancakes, waffles, and hot chocolate that kids will love. We tried Chicken Thenthuk, Chicken Bibimbap, Tom & Jerry Special Brunch, Hash Brown, Waffle with Honey, Chicken Omelette, and the Ginger Honey Lemon Tea Pot. Every dish was delicious, but the tea was particularly outstanding! The service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had a fantastic experience. We even got to click a photo with the three chefs, which was a highlight of our visit. Overall, Tom & Jerry Cafe is a must-visit in Darjeeling. The delightful theme, delicious food, and excellent service make it a perfect spot for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Margaret's Deck Tea Lounge (Goodricke Tea Pot) is a must-visit spot in Darjeeling, offering a beautiful location and an interior that beautifully showcases the history of tea. It's a great place for tea lovers, with numerous varieties available on a kettle basis. The natural beauty of the valley and mountains adds to the experience, making it hard to leave before sunset. Away from the busy town, this lounge provides a relaxing ambiance amidst lush green tea gardens.
Amazing picnic spot. A bit expensive though but a great hangout place enroute Darjelling. Visited this place for brunch. Pan cakes tasted good but the Sandwich was amazing. The service was a bit slow but it was good. Ambience and atmosphere were great. Amazing views of the tea gardens from the deck...when mixed with mist and clouds the view just looked splendid. Definetly a place to visit if you are traveling by.

If you are going towards Darjeeling, this is a well known place. The view from this place is just outstanding. But you have to have at least 2-3 hrs for the dine in. The waiting here alone is more than 1 hrs during busy times. The food was okay okay. We ordered hot chocolate which was not up to the standard. The chicken hotdog was not that good also...very rubbery feeling. And the pan cake was downright uncooked properly and was very hard. And everything was very very expensive. Overall if you want to visit there mostly for the breathtaking view then go for it! But don't expect too much from the food itself.
Subrata R — Google review
I had heard a lot about the place having excellent view and it really does. The view is amazing and especially witnessing the sunset feels really good with a cup of hot darjeeling tea. However, that is the only good thing there. We ordered two pots of tea along with one French fries and a chicken sandwich. God knows what was the problem they faced with this simple order, but we weren't served the food till 30-40 mins after the order. While the ones who joined at the same time as us were served on time. The tea was served but not the food. We had to eventually ask them to cancel and they immediately cancelled without any second question. As if they were waiting to cancel the order. So my recommendation would be go for the view and tea but good luck with food.

If you’re heading to Darjeeling and planning to take a break at Margaret’s Deck Tea Lounge, you’re in for a delightful experience! The cozy ambiance of this tea lounge makes it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The white sauce pasta at Margaret’s Deck is a must-try for anyone craving a comforting, creamy dish. The pasta is well-cooked and enveloped in a rich, velvety white sauce that’s subtly seasoned, giving it a perfect balance of flavors. The addition of fresh ingredients like vegetables or chicken (depending on your choice) adds to the dish’s depth, making it a satisfying and hearty meal. As for the pancakes, they’re light, fluffy, and generously served with a drizzle of maple syrup or fresh fruits (depending on the season). The pancakes pair beautifully with a hot cup of tea, which is their specialty. You can enjoy a peaceful moment on the deck, taking in the scenic views of Darjeeling while enjoying your meal. Overall, Margaret’s Deck Tea Lounge is a lovely spot to indulge in some delicious food while soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of Darjeeling. The white sauce pasta and pancakes make for a comforting meal, especially if you’re looking for a break from the local dishes. It’s a great stop for travelers seeking both a taste of home and a unique Darjeeling experience.

Beautiful spot with a stunning view of the hills! The ambience is peaceful and perfect for a tea break. Great selection of teas and snacks — everything felt fresh and well presented. Service was polite and prompt. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the experience and view make it totally worth it.

A fantastic cafe located on the mountainside offering great food at a reasonable price and fantastic views of rolling hills and tea gardens. The cafe is located right on the main road and one can also catch a glimpse of the toy train from here. It offers a vibe of the colonial era and is aptly decorated. The staff are very professional and polite and service is quick. The food quality is awesome and portion size is a bit small but the pricing is very reasonable. The washrooms are very clean and well maintained. Only drawback is sometimes people have to wait outside to get seats. Highly recommend the Chicken Imperial, Pork Sausage, Bacon and Hot Chocolate.

Margaret's Deck is steeped in heartache and love. In the early 20th century, the estate was managed by Mr. Cruickshank, whose daughter, Margaret, fell deeply in love with the beauty of the land and promised to return. Tragically, she passed away on her journey back. In a heartfelt tribute, the estate was renamed "Margaret's Hope," ensuring her memory lived on amidst the rolling hills and tea gardens. Margaret's Deck is a must-visit destination in Darjeeling, offering the best views of the tea gardens and a stunning sunset. I highly recommend visiting at sunset—the experience is absolutely worth it. Menu Recommendations: Carrot Cake: Rs. 60 Hot Chocolate: Rs. 150 Apple Walnut Cake: Rs. 70 Pork Sausages: Rs. 170 Grilled Chicken Sandwich: Rs. 250 The cakes had an authentic, homemade feel with mild, delightful flavors. The pork sausages were wonderfully smoky, and the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. While the portions were on the smaller side—only four sausages and a small sandwich—the quality was impeccable. The ambiance, the breathtaking view, and the food, though a bit pricey, are well worth every penny, making this a truly memorable experience.

Gatty's Cafe is a popular spot in Darjeeling, known for its unique blend of cafe and adventure company. It offers live music, indoor games, and a cozy atmosphere that appeals to the younger crowd. The cafe stands out as one of the few places open late into the night, offering karaoke, open mic nights, and board games. Additionally, it boasts a wonderful library for book enthusiasts to enjoy with their coffee and sandwiches.
In a city where literally every restaurant, bar, cafe and food place closes down at 9pm (earlier during off seasons), this quaint yet nicely decorated cafe seemed to be the only element to keep the nightlife alive (stays open till about 11.30 pm). Gatty's Cafe has a good collection of drinks, the snacks are good, and the people running the place are really nice. Amazing place to hang out with friends, chill and watch sports.

Serves handmade ravioli, fettuccine, Arabic platters with homemade humus and sakhsukha. Was voted amongst the top ten travel cafes in India. Blends their own coffee and theres a fireplace for the winter months. Commands the most scenic views of the mountains.

I visited this restaurant on Bengali New Year, and I was truly impressed, got really lucky. The food was exceptional, good range of vegetarian food, and Chef S. Sarkar personally came to our table to explain the various Bengali dishes. His passion for the cuisine really shone through, and it made my experience even more special. It truly made my soul happy! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Bengali flavors.

Delicious food in buffet dinnar with panipuri, chaat, continental dishes, live pasta, indian foods with mutton biriyani, chicken chaap, chicken kebab, fish fry, lots of sweets and ice-cream. We booked the PDR hall beside Siliguri Kitchen for a meeting and party, and it's a good place for that. We enjoyed the service from them. There is adequate sitting arrangement and the service also good. We recommend it.

Worst food service in industry, shameless staff and management. Serving Fish in vegitarian menu and also in buffet they keep fish as a vegetarian dish and putting green dot of vegitarian identity on it. Don't know if they are doing intentionally or by mistake. I had informed the f&b Head, even he don't know how to control staffs and floor management. Staff response is worst than road side dhabba people, only well dressed but purely shameless staff

We had one of the best times, hosting our son's first birthday party here. Ms. Subina and chef Subhamoy Sarkar were instrumental behind the success of the event. Ms. Subina coordinated the decor, service, and everything else so perfectly that we barely had to do anything. And Chef Subhamoy is the most humble and amiable person I have ever met. He has an amazing talent for preparing speciality dishes. We had made some requests regarding certain bengali dishes with specific requirements and left the rest of menu to Chef Subhamoy's ingenuity; the result of which was sublime! The food turned out amazing, for which we would like thank him again from the bottom of our hearts. And lastly we would like to thank the rest of kitchen and hospitality staff members and the singer with such a beautiful voice who took care of us and our guests and made us feel warm and comfortable like family members. Thank you for making this a flawless and memorable moment for all of us.

The rooms are really good. The service is horrible. We got just one towel in the beginning. Didn’t even get a hand towel. We had to ask for it. We received it shortly. Next big blunder was with the breakfast. We booked the room with breakfast. In the morning when we went for breakfast we were told breakfast wasn’t complimentary. I called up their call centre to find out, but got no help at all. Went to the reception, who was busy doing some work. After 10 mins of argument he allowed us to have breakfast until the thing was sorted out. It got sorted out after 20 mins. I was also asked NOT put bad reviews for this mishap. We had a flight to catch for which we got delayed because of this. In short, booking team and reception guys do not have proper communication. It was horrible experience for a traveler. Management should look into this with utmost priority. Next, when we returned to our room after breakfast, our door was blocked by a mattress. Which we had to remove it ourselves. Not a big deal. But this matters. These small things matter when we pay good enough amount to stay in a hotel. Management should look into these petty matters. Moreover, never ask the customer to put good reviews after your bad service.

Nestled conveniently near the Biswadeep cinema hall on Pradhan Road, Around The Corner is a charming eatery that promises to satisfy your cravings for fast food and delightful desserts. With an extensive menu featuring mouthwatering burgers, pizzas, pastas, fish and chips, and even pork ribs, there's something to please every palate.
Loved it. Just loved it. Had the Veg burger, Veg dimsums and cold coffee for dinner. Portions were large, so the bill but I am not complaining as one could taste the quality. American dinner style sitting, very retro 80s feel... which is good. The menu is quite extensive. Me being a vegetarian had enough choice so I am hoping that the non vegetarians would surely have fun here. Had a quick chat with the owner (I believe), the place would be converted into a pub soon. Well, they have the right food and ambiance for it. After struggling with food for three days in Siliguri, some relief.

Absolutely odd place in the middle of the city, but it was a good reprieve from the standard Indian fare found elsewhere. The crispy noodle salad was good but the corn fritters was a little salty and over burnt. The pork chop was very fatty, but the burger was delicious, meat patty could be juicier. Nevertheless a great place to visit. One bad thing was we waited one hour for our burger, and we were the only table around. It seemed that they have priority to the takeaways.

Awesome place, this place has the potential to become one of the best places to eat in Siliguri. Continental/ western/ Chinese dishes in the Menu are fabulous they even have some Italian Dishes. Taste of the Veg Dimsums were very good. French fries were really crunchy. Fully air conditioned, Paytm accepted, All Visa cards accepted. Wheel chair accessible entrance. Restaurant has no separate parking , have to park in front of the restaurant in whatever space is available.Owner is a cool person , personally paid a visit to me , made sure things are ok and took feedback. Staff are very courteous. Live TV from a projector into a huge screen serves as a good focal point. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place to have dinner. Few things that make me come to this place repeatedly are, Ambience, Cordial behaviour from the staffs, Excellent collection of music. Right as one enters, will find graffiti of M Jackson beside the bar, and while looking around, Marley, Rolling Stones and many others will set the mood in as you can find Deep Purple to James Blunt buzzing in your ear. It is a continental restaurant. And you won't be disappointed with the food. Neither was I. All the food I've tried so far did not let me down. They have started with live music (like a pub) in the weekends. I have visited couple of times, both in weekdays. Never found it to be crowded. And never had to wait. While paying bills, they provided us with a free coupon for the next visit (may be due to promotional offer, but like forever, gifts make us happy, don't they 😇). This restaurant is little expensive, but is worth every penny for all the class experience they provide. It'll cost you somewhere around ~1.2k for a dinner for a couple (without drinks).

⭐ Visited Mamagoto, Siliguri 📍 Location: Just 1-minute walk from Akashvani Siliguri 📍 Coordinates: 26.73595° N, 88.43385° E Having had a fantastic experience at Mamagoto in Delhi, I was excited to visit their Siliguri outlet. The ambiance here is pleasant, and the staff are polite and well-mannered — definitely a plus. However, the Chicken Katsu Sushi, which I thoroughly enjoyed in Delhi, didn’t quite match up in terms of taste. It wasn’t bad, just not as satisfying as I expected based on past experience. Still, if you’re in the area and looking for something different, it’s a decent place to check out. Hopefully, they fine-tune the flavors to match the brand’s usual standard.

Stopped by this restaurant for lunch before boarding my train from New Jalpaiguri Station. I was not expecting much, but the place was decent. The atmosphere was good and their service was prompt. Dhaba by Amber, located at Saluja Residency on Hill Cart Road near Sevoke More, Khalpara, Siliguri, is one of the city’s top-rated North Indian-themed restaurants. Quirky, Bollywood-themed Décor: Styled like a vintage dhaba with vibrant elements: modified truck entrance, autorickshaw seating, bicycle-tyre light fixtures and Bollywood posters. Spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating, including private cabins and family corners. Ambience & Service: Often packed on weekends; best to reserve a table. Live staff dance performances and regular sports screenings add to the vibe . Friendly, attentive service and a clean, well-maintained space, though some guests note crowd levels near AC vents can feel warm ﹣some find it "so so". Food & Drinks: Extensive North Indian + Punjabi dishes, with some Chinese and Mughlai options—plus a full bar and mocktail menu . Signature dishes frequently praised: Chicken Alishaan, Singh Sahab Chicken, Green Star Chicken, Paneer Butter Masala, Chilli Chicken, Chur Chur Naan, Jalebi with rabri, Fish Irani.

Nestled in the bustling city of Siliguri, Indian Pagoda Chinese Restaurant stands out as a delightful culinary gem that artfully combines the vibrant flavors of Indian and Chinese cuisine. This contemporary dining space invites food enthusiasts to embark on a flavorful journey, offering an array of popular dishes that cater to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palates. Guests can savor everything from spicy curries to savory stir-fries, making it an ideal spot for those looking to indulge in a unique fusion experience.
Have been visiting restaurant for past decade. Usually standards and cleanliness deteriorate. Indian Pagoda after its renovation has continued to excel. Chinese and non vegetarian dishes are real delightfully delicious. Few places rice noodles are prepared as well as here. Bar is excellent and well stocked. Preparations are simple and quick. Mr Deepak, lead steward cum floor manager is always there to help with selecting menu and orders. Great to have been back after years.

It is a bar cum restaurant, with good quality food & service. But it is quite expensive. And I really didn't like the interior & ambience. It's not bad, but not upto the mark. And also they don't serve 30ml drinks. I mean they do, but the price is close to the 60ml ones.

Authentic Chinese restaurant in Siliguri. Visited for dinner. Food quality is great. Although I didn't like the drums of heaven so much, the rest of dishes were perfect and tasty but rates are little on higher. Nice ambience, staffs are very friendly & service is fast. Not much crowded. Recommended for Chinese food lover.

The Fourier is very good and the price is very reasonable. However, there is a smell I think is from that smoke of incense which I am not very comfortable with.

I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! From the moment we stepped inside, the ambiance captivated us. The decor beautifully blends traditional and modern elements, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We started with some refreshing beers accompanied by the double fried chili pork as our starter. It was absolutely delicious! The pork was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, and packed with flavor. The spice level was just right, making it an ideal appetizer to enjoy with our drinks. For the main course, we indulged in the seafood fried rice paired with sapo tofu and exotic veggies. The seafood fried rice was a delightful medley of fresh ingredients, bursting with flavor in every bite. The sapo tofu was a standout dish – incredibly creamy and rich, complemented by the vibrant veggies that added both texture and color to the plate. The service was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

Guests rave about the innovative and delicious Crispy Noodles shaped like a nest. The restaurant prides itself on freshly cooked food that caters to patrons' preferences.
Sad that there is only 5 stars for the food. I wanna give it 10 stars and I mean it. I can't express in words the taste and quality and lightness of the food. You have to check it yourself. I am guaranteeing you, you will not regret it. We had North Indian and Chinese food and they were amazing. It's a nice, cozy restaurant with nice music and very friendly and happy people serving you food, which makes the experience even better. I hope it helps🙂

Boneys is a bustling and reasonably priced restaurant located in the heart of town, offering a diverse menu including momos, sandwiches, fried rice, brownies, and noodles. Visitors of all ages frequent this establishment to savor its delicious hot chocolate walnut brownie and strong black coffee. The generous portions make it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists.
Boney’s is a hidden, underrated gem located inside Capital Market, directly opposite Unique Sweets. To find it, head to the Clock Tower on Laden La Road, look for a stairway leading down, and walk down the stairs. The first stop on your left is Boney’s bakery, followed by their restaurant section. In my opinion, Boney’s is the best eatery in Darjeeling. It’s a favorite among locals but remains largely undiscovered by tourists. The menu includes sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, momos, Chinese dishes, and a few continental options—but don’t expect many Indian or Bengali dishes here. What sets Boney’s apart is its unbeatable value for money. The food is tastier and more generously portioned than most well-known eateries in town, all at a lower price point. Every item on their menu is a winner, and I’ve yet to find a dish that disappoints. They also offer delivery to nearby hotels for a small charge, making it a convenient choice for a cozy meal in. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Boney’s is a must-try spot!

Reasonably priced, busy restaurant right at the heart of the town. A variety of eats ( momo, sandwich, fried rice, brownies, noodles, etc) served.People belonging to all age group flock the restaurant. Go for the delicious hot chocolate walnut brownie, it’s yummy! Black coffee was strong and good! The service was good. The noodles portion served is good enough for two. Locals and tourists both visit the restaurant and none would be dissatisfied or disappointed with their service and food. A thriving local business backed by quality.

Authentic food. Reasonable price. For years, this place has enjoyed popularity among the locals. And it recently gained all the deserving attention and praise from the tourists. We had noodles, chicken, and rice. All were tasty and freshly cooked. There is a bakery as well; however, we didn't get a chance to try it. The location is also prime, inside the Capital Market, adjacent to the taxi stand.

Visited this place on our way to Sikkim. This place has a great atmosphere. The service provided by the staff is commendable. They were very respectful and suggested their delicacies for us to try. Chef Jay has vast knowledge of flavours and the food was 5/5. No food colouring was used. The prices are a bit on the higher side but I'm sure no one will complain once they taste the food. The food here is simply outstanding. Each dish is crafted with care — from the aromatic fish curry to the flavour-packed vegetarian thali, everything bursts with authentic taste. The portions are generous, and the freshness of ingredients shines through. I especially loved how they maintain the integrity of traditional Bengali flavours while giving them a modern finesse. The desserts (don’t miss the gulab jamun!) were a sweet finale to a superb meal. What made the experience even better was the service: attentive, polite, and full of suggestions when asked. Coffee shop
Nestled in the heart of Siliguri, Netaji Cabin is a cherished gem that has been delighting tea enthusiasts and food lovers for around 60 years. This iconic eatery may not boast a lavish ambiance, but its charm lies in its simplicity and nostalgic atmosphere. Known for serving quality vegetarian fare, including freshly prepared bread, omelets, and an array of delightful snacks and sweets, it’s the perfect spot to unwind with friends or family amidst the bustling market scene.
As a traveler exploring Siliguri, I stumbled upon a true hidden gem — Netaji Cabin. Hunger led me here, and I couldn't have been happier! This old-school café, tucked away in the busy Bidhan Market area, has been serving happy customers for over 70 years. I had their famous butter toast, eggs, and honestly, the best cup of strong Darjeeling tea I’ve ever tasted. The place has a beautiful old-world charm that instantly makes you feel nostalgic. It's simple, cozy, and full of character. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed — a perfect break from the city's buzz. Highly recommend Netaji Cabin to anyone visiting Siliguri! Whether you're a local or a traveler like me, it’s a must-visit spot for a classic, heartwarming experience.

This good old place gives a nostalgic feeling when entered. Butter toast and omelette along with a hot cup of tea or coffee help in long term discussions on any topic. A typical cabin to sit and gossip around. Would have given 4 stars but a rat seen roaming around inside has brought a 3 star rating to the place.
Gargi B — Google review
No frills breakfast place that offers Omelette, coffee, tea, buttered toast and half boiled eggs. The menu is not huge and that's why they are good at what they do. Being a bit old, the place may look shabby but the food quality is good. Nothing extraordinarily but you'll love the old world charm and perfect breakfast food
Ayon D — Google review
We were looking for a place to have evening tea in Bidhan Market when a passerby suggested we try Netaji Cabin. This place carries its own history and has that old-school vibe. As usual, we climbed up the narrow wooden stairs to the first floor and placed a simple order — two bread toasts and two regular milk teas ☕. The toast was fine, but the tea was a big disappointment 🥶. It was overpriced and the taste was nowhere near worth it. After just two sips, we left it unfinished. Honestly, our first experience here wasn’t good at all, and it didn’t live up to the hype.

Netaji Cabin in Siliguri is an iconic spot known for its heritage and old-world charm. I had heard a lot about its historical significance and reputation as a local institution , and are totally undeniable, but the hygiene standards leave much to be desired. The food has a certain nostalgic appeal, the smiling and ever cheerful staff makes you smile but the cleanliness of the premises and could be significantly improved. Despite its heritage status, the awards , the lack of proper upkeep detracts from the overall experience. It’s worth a visit for the history and local flavor, but not if hygiene is a top priority.
Himani C — Google review
Visited Netaji Cabin - a heritage cafe. Bread Omlette was ok but Tea was very terrible. As a famous cafe, i didn't expect the taste. It's really busy at afternoon time. But one can try at once.
Addie K — Google review
A heritage eatery inside the Hongkong Market of Siliguri. I visited there and tried out Butter Toast, Coffee & Two Boiled Eggs. The taste of the toast was good, because it's made from good quality butter. The eggs were normal in taste and the coffee was on the bitter side, served in a glass. The restaurant is a bit cramped up due to lack of space. However, they do have another floor upstairs to accommodate more people. Overall, it's a decent breakfast restaurant.💙
Samrat C — Google review
The worst Chai I ever had. I had high expectations for Netaji Cabin, but sadly, it didn’t live up to the hype. The food was average at best, lacking the authentic flavors I was hoping for. Though the ambiance gave the vintage look but it didn’t feel worth the price. I was disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it .

Must visit restaurant at city centre for delicious sizzlers. They have bar, and we can order alchol too. It's a complete family restaurant. Service is too poor. The waiter was discussing the menu so loudly near me . Bills and card swipe machine after my food took around half an hour to complete. Food - loved the complimentary salad provided in the beginning. Roasted papad was good . Sizzlers chinnese nonveg was just superb. Loved every bite of it . They provide minched mutton, chicken, fish, prawn and fried rice .

The fish and chips are a must try. The spaghetti was tasty as well. When went for lunch here. The prices are a bit high here but the taste of the dishes served is reallly good. The fish of fish and chips was tender and well cooked. It tasted heavenly. The fish just melted inside the mouth. The size served was also too good. The spaghetti served was also tasty but the quantity was bit less. Other than that the taste was top notch, no complains about the taste and the quality of the food. We also tried their fried ice cream which was also good but the outer coating could have been as the ice cream was already leaking through the cracks. I have tried fried ice cream before also where the coating needs to be really well done so that the ice cream don't leak. The ambience is good and also they have enough space for friends and family group dining.

I would rate this restaurant 3.5stars. Ambiance was pleasant and warm. They have decent seating capacity. Went on weekdays so the restaurant was pretty much empty. Service was quick and staff were quite confused about their menu. They had hard time recommending their best sellers. Food was average. Their fish starter were really soft but too flavourless and side salad was bland. Their Continental sizzler had chicken prawns and fish with noodles/rice of your choice. The sizzler was just a showpiece the chicken, fish and prawns were precooked in a close to similar sauces and the noodle was basic. Blue lagoon was quite nice and refreshing but the sweet lassi was just Sweet Curd not worth 160₹. They gave complementary papad chutney which was the only thing i enjoyed the most. Over all ambience is good but the food is average for the price. Wouldn’t recommend.

Golden Orchid-The Lodge in Darjeeling is a vibrant and serene accommodation with modern amenities and stylish decor. The lodge offers rooms adorned with wooden furnishings, a restaurant serving delicious meals, a bar for refreshing drinks, and a terrace with outdoor furniture to enjoy the stunning city views. It is conveniently located near popular attractions like Darjeeling Peace Pagoda and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute And Zoological Park.
It will take more than words to describe completely, how the overall experience was. To begin with, it is a very aesthetically pleasing stay with vicinity to Mall road and the prime area. The staff and services was prompt and well behaved (though it's a natural trait in the mountains, people are usually humble and helping throughout - Disclaimer "It's a personal opinion only"). The food facilities are eclectic and the Bar was top notch, though we have visited in office season food choices were plenty. One suggestion is that, for the people with continental food habits, the kitchen might offer more simplified food choices (Indian dishes also). Furthermore, the rooms are well maintained and with good amenities and clean and hygiene maintained. Summary - Good stay for both couples and family

I had dinner at this Resturant with family, it is very crowded when we reached due to popularity and also due to affordability the Resturant is fully packed. We have wait 30 minutes for getting a seat and any 15 mins for food. We have ordered 2 chicken thali and fish thali. I must say the Resturant serves food well hot and good portion for veg thali. But if you want to hove non veg then it may not be of liking as per the popularity the Resturant is not up to the mark on our expectations. The menu is quite pocket friendly then other Resturant in the vicinity. I would suggest if you want to have food here you much go abit early to get a sit to enjoy the meal with family. Hotel Mahakal is located very close to Darjeeling mall road. It is one of the most popular Bengali cuisine restaurant among the visitors. Bengali veg thali starts from Rs. 110/-, it also offers special veg thali, fish thali, chicken thali, mutton thali. Besides, thali, you can order chowmin, roti and other indian cuisine. Price is reasonable. Taste is okay type...not bad, but nothing extraordinary. But, the restaurant generally has a long queue, specially in peak tourist season. So you should take enough time in your hand to get in to the restaurant. Due to overcrowding sometimes service gets delayed. Overall, you can try this restaurant when you visit Darjeeling.

Over the span of three days, we dined multiple times at Mahakal Restaurant and tried a wide variety of dishes including egg thali, veg thali, chicken bharta, dal makhani, ruti, mixed veg, chicken noodles, chilli chicken, and more. The food was absolutely delicious and consistently flavorful, showcasing authentic taste and good preparation. However, the quantity served felt a bit insufficient for the price, which was slightly higher than expected. The place is always crowded, reflecting its high demand, and it can get a bit chaotic during peak hours. Located conveniently in the main mall area, Mahakal has several other branches under its chain, which speaks to its popularity. Despite the rush and slightly premium pricing, the overall experience was satisfying, and it’s clear why this restaurant enjoys such a loyal customer base.

Was recommended by the locals there. Also, the place always had a huge line be it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Visited recently. We tried the Complimentary fryums, Veg thali (Bengali style), Paneer Butter Masala, Chicken Biryani, Veg Fried Rice, Chicken Thukpa, Laccha Paratha. All the dishes had good presentation. Starting with the thali, no doubt it was authentic Bengali style thali, the taste was great. The Paneer Butter Masala was a bit sweet but tasted good. The Chicken Biryani looked the best but tasted average, the aroma was great but the taste was not that good. The Laccha paratha was nice. The Veg Fried rice was simple and best, but the Chicken Thukpa was great, it was in a huge quantity and was absolutely delicious. We ate at the ground floor, there is one more floor downstairs but it is preferred to eat upstairs. The ambience and atmosphere is good upstairs. The service is quick even in the rush hours. Overall, if you wanna try authentic Bengali food or good Chinese food, then you can definitely visit this place. Recommended ⭐⭐⭐

Nestled in the heart of Siliguri, Taiwah Restaurant is a delightful culinary haven that specializes in pure vegetarian cuisine. With its inviting and relaxed atmosphere, this eatery serves up an impressive selection of international dishes, particularly known for its mouthwatering Chinese fare. The restaurant strikes a perfect balance between comfort and sophistication, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a refined dining experience. Guests can expect attentive service from the friendly staff who are dedicated to ensuring a memorable meal.
A Must-Visit for Chinese Food Lovers in Siliguri! I had a fantastic experience at Taiwah Restaurant! The fried chicken wontons were perfectly crispy and paired beautifully with their in-house complimentary chilli sauce—an absolute treat to start the meal. For the main course, I tried the Taiwah Special Gravy Chowmein, and it was excellent. The noodles were fresh and springy, topped with a generous portion of chicken, egg, and crunchy vegetables, all smothered in a delicious, savory gravy. Every bite was flavorful and comforting—just the way authentic Chinese food should be! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for both family meals and casual outings. The service was prompt and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Chinese cuisine in Siliguri!

I ordered chilli chicken through Swiggy. Swiggy doesn't has photo review option so writing it here. The chicken was dry, hard, and I don't know why the chicken is reddish inside and has no smell of chicken! The item also contain no capsicum or tomato, which I think chilli chicken must have. Moreover they gave plenty of chillies. I don't know what dish was it. They are literally befooling people.

This is the most nostalgic place for me. As a pork lover and chinese lover this place gave me super foods since my childhood. I remember going there with friends secretly for pork, with family for mixed fried rice and chili chiken. Everything was so great. It's vibe still is same as before and which is best. It's is the best Chinese restaurant in the city wherever you go, the food that matters. I went each and every restaurant in Siliguri and know what hidden gem this place is. If you really want to get authentic, pure and tasty food, go there. It's highly recommended.

An honest take on one of Siliguri’s oldest Chinese restaurant. As you walk in, the place looks almost the same as it used to be. They could have improved the ambience of the place. The building and entrance looks a bit dilapidated. Can be revamped to give it a clean look. While there are some beautiful Chinese painting on the wall, but the decor is still not upto the mark. The whole place needs a good touch up. Now coming to the food, it’s decent. All the items we ordered were good. The staff were polite and courteous. I would have given the a 5 star had the ambience being in place. Hopefully, the owners will read the reviews and work on the asthetics of the place.

I had read about Taiwah restaurant, how they still has not changed a bit. It did not disappoint in anyway. It has a classic rustic vibe to it. We were not really for dinner and the place was kind of empty. Service was very quick. We ordered a wonton chow soup, Egg spring roll, chicken chowmein and chilli pork. Although the soup was not salty enough, the wontins were fresh and the noodles were thin and light. Chilli Pork was definitely the star. And chowmin was also very nice . Loved the noodles. Spring rol was crispy on outside and fresh filling inside. It costed around 800 for this.

Ate my dinner here on 15th December, being a cold night I had ordered wonton soup and Chilli pork along with it. Wonton soup was freshly made and very nice and hot, perfect for a cold night. The ambience is old Chinese restaurant style, not a fancy restaurant but looking at the restaurant you can guess that it's one of the old Chinese restaurant in Siliguri. Prices are not expensive nor cheap. It's a good place to have lunch with family and have a get together.

Went there based on recommendations the place carries a heritage being old school chinese restaurant. Tucked in a narrow corridor of an old building on the busy Hillcart road, the place looked run down. Tai Wah definitely seemed popular with local people. Tried wantons and spring rolls and those were great. Though did not quite enjoy few other starters which I perhaps is not value mention. The goto dishes chowmein and chilly chicken were good as well. To me the food is good but not a great value for what the place offers.

Relished a plate of chicken gravy noodles from this popular Chinese restaurant in Siliguri. It's situated exactly opposite to the Hong Kong market and can be easily reached from the Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminal by hiring a Toto for ₹10 only. The food was of acceptable quality & taste. However, I felt that the price was a little higher than expectation. Overall, it was a good experience. 👍🏻
