French restaurant
Auberge Du Vert Mont is a refined establishment located in Brussels, Belgium. It boasts a charming restaurant that serves delicious French cuisine. Additionally, the inn offers cozy accommodations with traditional wood-burning stoves and picturesque countryside vistas. The rustic rooms provide a comfortable stay for guests to relax and unwind while enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding area.
I have been following the chef for a while and was delighted by the experience, both at the restaurant and the B&B. The dishes take inspiration from local culture and produce, and all the ingredients are carefully selected. And the "frites au maroilles", the signature of the chef, deserve every bit of the hype. The B&B is very well done, with a very comfortable bed. The warm welcome by the chef's father was very pleasant. The breakfast box, dropped off the next morning on our door, was very good and full of fresh and tasty stuff. I can only recommend!

When you pull in with the car and see lovely sheeps and ducks in front of the restaurant calmly grazing the grass you get the impression that you will eat good wholesome food. Place is a minimalistic barn style. All good until we come to the food. The food is a JOKE. Pay attention to the pictures posted. Main meal is 1 sliver of meat. Next dish is a tiny bowl of fries. I mean this place for a one Michelin star is a ripoff and utter failure. Last night we went to Purete restaurant also 1 star Michelin and there is no comparison. This is a mediocre at best restaurant but not on par with the Michelin standards. This was an insult to other establishments that are working hard and do a wonderful job. Please keep your money and spare yourself of royal misery. This is PURE disappointment and joke on EVERY conceivable level. Wine pairing don't even get me started. This was the worst Michelin experience ever. Mine as well ask them where to go for a burger and a pint of beer after the whole pretend show is over. Oh, and of course chef was nowhere near the establishment. I genuinely hope that will be stripped of this one star they are profiting from long gone glory.
Iva P — Google review
Fine food, good service, fair prices. We Had a very pleasent experience in the restaurant. Both, the alcoholic (inclusing self Made Beers) and non-alcoholic beverage pairings matched the menu very well!
Noha N — Google review
Nice and friendly service, surroundings overrated. Dishes disappointing, cuisine is extreme and really too rough. Not my kind of thing, anyway. Wine choices bizarre and extreme, can't recommend. Not inexpensive, 100€+ per person. One Michelin star, I don't see what justifies it. For extreme amateurs only.
Raymond J — Google review
Absolutely loved our visit here, the food was sensational and really interesting being all seasonal and local, with lots of it cooked over the wood fire. The setting was beautiful with panoramic views and the staff excellent! Totally recommend visiting this restaurant!
Dave P — Google review
This review is for the restaurant/dining aspect of the guesthouse. For the lodging aspect, do check out the review on the other Googlemap listing. They only have a tasting menu, with beverage pairing and optional add-on for an extra dish. If you are there for only one meal, I would highly recommend you to go for the full works! I had the fortune of dining there for two consecutive evenings, so I went for the full works for the first night and then just the basic tasting menu for the second. I really appreciate the team for providing a very interesting non-alcoholic beverage pairing due to my allergy, as well as to change most of the item menus for my second night, so that I did not eat the same things again. I felt like I had a totally new menu. The cuisine for me was innovative and places a lot of emphasis on the ingredients themselves, where they came from and how best to showcase them. In absence of some commonly used ingredients (e.g. pepper, because they are not locally produced in the region), the flavours of the dishes were never compromised, but instead allowed to come to the foreground. This allowed me to view the ingredients in a whole new light and savour their 'original' flavours. The interiors and ambience were welcoming and cosy. This was further accentuated by the service team, who were friendly and attentive. They were also ready to explain the dishes in English when they realised that my dining partner could not understand French. When one of the service staff did not realise that, she hurriedly came back to our table to re-explain in English when one of her colleagues told her that not everyone understood French at our table. Overall a great dining experience.

Amazing views in the daytime, really impressive price/quality ratio. Really great food, creative and showcases local terroir. Friendly service and an impressively comfortable restaurant to go too when you have small children, children menus are available and you feel welcome with children. Been many times and really like it

Haute French restaurant
French restaurant
Haut Bonheur de la Table is a superb restaurant that offers Michelin-quality food without being too fancy or snobbish. The service is exceptional and the location is great. The menu, including a delicious 7-course Easter option, provides a fine dining experience with classic French-style haute cuisine. The wine list is excellent and the use of modern techniques adds to the overall appeal. Dishes are creative, displaying various textures and colors.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that offers a Revelation menu, and the experience was outstanding. The restaurant's environment is very comfortable, making you feel relaxed and at ease. Each dish was filled with creativity and surprises, starting from the appetizers, showcasing the chef's dedication and ingenuity. The main courses were incredibly delicious, with fresh ingredients and perfect pairings. The plating and decoration of the food were also beautiful, making each dish a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. The desserts were the most unexpected delight, with rich flavors that left a lasting impression. The service was impeccable as well. The staff were very professional, friendly, and attentive, always anticipating our needs. The prices were very reasonable, offering great value for the quality provided, far exceeding my expectations. Overall, this is a restaurant worth recommending. Whether it’s the food, the environment, or the service, everything is top-notch. I will definitely visit again and recommend it to my friends.

This little nice restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The interior is not as fancy as you might expected from a fine dining restaurant BUT... the food was really outstanding! We took the "Révélation" menu which was the four courses. All dishes were absolutely delicious and the plating was very refined. You can tell that the chef really made the dishes from love. Super good value for money! The price we paid per person is the price you'd pay for a fine dining lunch and I'm talking about dinner (not lunch)! We really enjoyed this lovely tasty evening. The service was also very friendly and attentive. They took care of my fruit allergy and proposed an alternative option for the dessert. Thumbs up for this restaurant 👍👍👍 Oh yeah you can also enjoy a nice view from the outdoor terrace while having your aperitif! We can only recommend this place!!!

Fine dining in a beautiful old house. Classic French-style haute cuisine with a very good wine list and modern techniques on display. Very nice experience!

Superb, as always. I live in this town, but only know the owners from my restaurant visits, and my unbiased advise 'go there'! This is Michelin quality without being too fussy or pretentious. Service is assured and excellent. Michelin star food in great location at very reasonable price. This time we had the 7 course Easter menu, which worked out at about 100 euros a head with wine. Five very contented customers!

Fantastic! You won't see better value for michelin food. Unfussy, beautifully presented, modern French food. Impeccable timing, wonderful staff and a warm atmosphere all set in a classically northern French market town.

The restaurant Arborescence offers an extraordinary dining experience. The cuisine is exquisite, with dishes that are both delectable and creatively displayed. The ambience of the restaurant is stunning, creating a beautiful atmosphere for patrons to enjoy. The entire staff is exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Each dish served at Arborescence meets the highest standards of quality. Overall, everything about this establishment is flawless, from the mouthwatering food to the professional service provided.
Amazing place! Top food and service. We had an awesome night. Thanks a lot to the team!
Fei S — Google review
I had a wonderful experience at Restaurant Arborescence for my birthday. 1. The food was absolutely delicious, and I really appreciated the attention to detail — even the tableware was beautiful and thoughtfully chosen. 2. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. I don’t speak French well, but they spoke English and made me feel very comfortable. 3. The atmosphere was full of charming details, from the flowers and garden outside to the cleanliness and design of the toilets. Everything was well cared for. 4. The pacing of the meal was perfect. Sometimes, with many courses, it can feel rushed or too slow, but here everything was timed beautifully. It was truly impressive. 5. The price was also very reasonable for the quality and experience. I came to this restaurant all the way from Amsterdam, and it was absolutely worth the trip. They already have one Michelin star, but with the level of detail and quality I experienced, I truly believe they deserve a second one soon. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a thoughtful, well-executed dining experience.

Every dish was packed with flavor and really well done. The service was top-notch ~ friendly and smooth without trying too hard. The whole vibe of the place felt really fresh. It definitely set the bar high as my first Michelin experience! No food pics, you’ve gotta go and see (and taste) the magic for yourself!

This restaurant offered me the best dinner experience I’ve ever had. The €110 6 course menu is more than worth it with surprises here and there and extremely hospitable chef and staffs. The chef showed extraordinary talents and creativity in the entrees and desserts. I only wish the bread is a bit warmer, but overall i left with nothing but happy memories. Will definitely be coming again when the menu changes.

We visited in April and had a wonderful time. Great, friendly and correct service ( not too fast not too slow). The food was amazing and a high level of detail to each plate. The drawings in the entry hall are impressive and I also like the little souvenir to take home.

Haute French restaurant
Located in the heart of Lille, Le Restaurant du Cerisier is a gastronomic gem situated on the first floor. The warm welcome, open kitchen, intimate terrace, and dimly lit atmosphere create an inviting ambiance. Helmed by Mathieu Boutroy, formerly the sous chef at Meurin in Busnes, this Michelin-starred establishment offers exquisitely crafted dishes that blend classic and daring flavors within an ultra-contemporary setting on Avenue du Peuple Belge.
Perfect food in a calm room served by charming staff. The discovery menu was a succession of delights. There is an excellent choice of wine to accompany the food. A memorable experience.
Jon N — Google review
Delicious food, impeccable service…the chef surprised us by the association of food. Fruit osmose was perfect end for this menu and the wine/champagne pairing was perfect
Chrysoula C — Google review
Direct view on the Chef's cuisine and how his brigade efficiently works, in what seems a very quiet and oiled mechanic. Fascinating. Food & cuisine wise, the Michelin Star is well deserved. The signature Langoustine with beetroot, horseraddish & dill, is just a must have : textures and tastes echoing one another are a masterpiece. The Pork Loin with black garlic and celtuce, was just cooked at perfection. Pan fried foie gras, quince & hazelnut, perfumed bouillon : amazing how Foie gras and hazelnut works together well. Clementine, thyme & sweet potatoe. Service was efficient and friendly all along. Strongly recommend.
Yves L — Google review
Le Restaurant du Cerisier is the highlight of my weekend food trip to Lille, and also the most expensive. While it may seem a bit pricey compared to most other local restaurants, it’s definitely worth it with the quality of ingredients they use. I had the 7-course Menu Quintessence and it was excellent value even for €159. The meal started with a selection of really pretty and delicious Amouse-Bouche. I then had 4 different plates for my starters, with the highlights being the ‘La Langoustine’ and the ‘Le Thon au Poivre’. Both were magnificent, but the best dish I’ve has that evening was the Tuna, with a pepper and shallot sauce, topped with grated truffle. Honestly, it was the best Tuna I’ve had in my life!! I then had the Turbot as my main, which was quite good but not as good as that amazing Tuna. There were then two desserts, which were both nice and beautifully prepared. If there was any weak portions of the menu, then it was the dessert. I found it overall a bit sour and I thought they both needed a bit more sweetness (although I might just be a sweet tooth). I did like the ‘La Cerise’ the most from all the sweet, it was nicely balanced with vanilla and cherry. The Sélection de mignardises was a nice end to such a great meal. I had to give extra points for the wonderful service. They did their best to explain everything in English and I really appreciate the warmth and hospitality all evening - they were definitely a lot nicer than the typical French hospitality.

Impeccable service and a wonderful meal with interesting wine pairing. Open kitchen, fun to watch the chefs professionally, artfully and calmly go about their work. Definitely will revisit.

Truly wonderful - it would be tragic to miss this incredible experience. Really friendly ,welcoming and rapid service but truly outstanding food. All fantastic, but I can’t forget the gin jelly +tonic foam starter, anchovy and liquorice amuse bouche, and socks blown off by chickpea, lime and sea urchin main. Great pear and chestnut desert.

Nestled in the charming town of Saint-Omer, Restaurant Bacôve is a culinary gem brought to life by Top Chef winner Camille Delcroix in 2021. This Michelin-starred establishment celebrates the rich flavors of local ingredients through innovative dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. Guests can expect an unforgettable dining experience starting with delightful amuse-bouches, like the striking foie lollipops paired with blackberries.
Superb! Also atmosphere and staff just magic. This is a delightful restaurant in St Omer and we had a magical experience and they even welcomed our well behaved dog. 10 out of 10 for every aspect. Posted a few of the dishes we had. Exquisite

Superb innovative French cuisine. Attentive staff. Ample wine list but seek advice. Several dining areas with variable ambiance (some a bit noisy). The set menu seems dear but is good value. Parking may be an issue in the busy city centre but we were lucky.

Rozo restaurant in Lille attracts food enthusiasts for its delectable dishes at lunch and dinner. With an appealing ambiance that embraces modernity, this establishment offers a range of services and enticing promotions. Situated at 34 Rue Raymond Derain Marcq-en-Baroeul (59700), it prides itself on its chic interior decor. While most patrons appreciate the culinary experience, some found the meat-based main courses excessively salty during their visit.
An absolutely delightful dining experience. Sublime execution, great presentation, and reasonable prices for a Michelin star restaurant. The degustation menu is spectacular, and dessert is to die for. Correspondingly busy, so book in advance!
Andrey B — Google review
The experience at ROZO is fantastic. The place is elegant and well-designed. The dishes offered were excellent, with the appetizers and desserts being particularly delightful, I would like to mention the "cromesqui mimolette" that was a true masterpiece. However, I found the main dishes to be slightly below the standard set by the other courses. Nevertheless, I highly recommend you to try to make your own opinion!
Maxime S — Google review
The food was great except the meat main dishes, both salty (my wife and i had the 2 available menus at dinner). Service is ok. Beverages and wines with good price. The experience in general was pleasant. Special note for the adaptation to covid, with tables more distant. Well done.
Rafael P — Google review
I was really excited to go to Rozó, a 2 star Michelin restaurant. The canapés were lovely, especially the egg with caviar was an absolute delight. I also loved the prawn seafood foam canapé too, what a burst of flavours that was. When the menu started, we received the first course which was some sort of escargot with bear garlic. That was nice, nothing amazing. Followed by a seaweed broth, it had flavour but nothing amazing. We then had catfish - never tried this before, but it was bland. Thoroughly enjoyed the bento broth I believe it was which came with it. I wouldn’t actually know accurately as the waiters stopped translating from French to English for me. Which slightly dulled the experience for me. I don’t understand French so it would be great to make that extra effort to explain what I’m actually eating! Lamb dish was also lovely, especially the bite of chest of lamb which I didn’t even realise was a thing. Dessert was FABULOUS finally a course with textures and explosiveness. This was some sort of yoghurt ice cream with rhubarb and meringue, so the frozen with the crunch was lovely. There was also some pastries on the side. All in all, this wasn’t amazing. I’ve been to one star restaurants which have blown me away compared to this. The service was a bit of a let down and there was one quite rude waitress who didn’t even bother to translate to me. The boy with curly hair and blue eyes was lovely and attentive!

First visit to charming Bourbourg, and therefore of course our first visit Au Clocher. Food was wonderful throughout, the chef's suggestion being particularly inspired. Service was perfect: attentive without being obtrusive, polite to two English people occasionally struggling with the language, and absolutely not rushed. Sommelier was excellent, giving a perfect recommendation for our food choice (but also being very tolerant of one of us who decided to go in a very different direction). And the atmosphere was a delight - a wonderful room with a quirky touch or two (the wine bike!) filled on a Tuesday lunchtime after the market with convivial groups enjoying the food and each other's company. I would and will recommend Au Clocher to anyone taking the channel crossing to Dunkirk (or indeed Calais etc!) Many thanks indeed to all.

Estaminet Au Vieux De La Vieille is a charming venue with a terrace where you can savor traditional local dishes and desserts, along with coffee and draft beer.
We were looking around to have dinner and chanced upon this hidden gem . We are promptly attended to by a lady and were given a nice table outside and since the weather was great this was what we had requested as well. The service was stellar and I wish other restaurants could take some lessons from the staff here about customer service . The beef stew was just right , the Maroilles was very nice and our daughter loved the experience . Highly recommended for someone who wants to enjoy the traditional experience and cuisine
Anoop W — Google review
Summary: Inattentive service, average food and wine, atmosphere not different from other much better restaurants with outdoor seating. Will not recommend. Servers were running about as they seemed very busy during lunch time. Maybe try a less busy time if you still want to try your luck. My waiter was inattentive and only interested to quickly be done with it. I was initially thinking of ordering dessert to be served later and asking for his recommendation for a wine pairing. But since he was not paying attention and already looking/ shouting over to talk to his colleague across another table, I did not bother ordering much and kept to a simple main and a random wine. No bread offered and didn't check in at all if I need anything else (not even water). When I eventually got up and paid my bill (you have to go to the till; they don’t do it at your table), I was asked if the food was okay. When I gave my honest answer, no apologies offered either. The food — I ordered the Welsh au maroilles. It was so salty to the point of being inedible. I barely finished one-third of my plate. The salad was just bland and tasteless. The frites was probably the only saving grace but still nothing to write home about. Atmosphere - It’s all nice when it’s sunny but you get that everywhere else. So don’t bother here. Reminders (general): Despite all the above, if you still want to try this, make sure to reserve in advance. Places and restaurants get filled up easily in Lille. When sat outside, be prepared for secondhand smoke. Your coat, clothes and even your food will smell of secondhand smoke. People there will not be considerate of you even in restaurants.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, and the portions were impressively large—definitely good value for money. The beer was tasty and paired perfectly with the meal. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!

Sweet old restaurant in the old town of Lille. Food very local and cheese heavy. A bit too heavy for my taste but good and well prepared. Do not ask for bread lol.

This place was a nice surprise. Good local food. Don't expect anything refined. North French kitchen is food of the farmers and coal miners back in the day if I'm correct. I really loved the taste of everything. Good portions... Local wines.. Very much wat I like. To me it feld like a Christmas diner. The service was very efficient, friendly en Quik. No bs.. Make sure you have reservations. When we came in there was nobody there but within 15 min the whole place was full. Price was OK.

Estaminet Chez La Vieille is a charming bistro that offers a taste of Flemish classics in a cozy, brick-lined dining room. It is part of a family of four estaminets and has been serving traditional dishes for decades. The cluttered bistro exudes an old-school charm with its beautiful tiled floor and vintage decor.
Lovely experience dining here. Service was excellent and managed our large group well. Can highly recommend the Assiette Regionale, which allowed me to sample a few different dishes from the menu.

We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! There were plenty of options, and the portions were generous. We decided to try the regional plate, which allowed us to sample a little bit of everything, and I highly recommend it - it was delicious! *Assiette régionale - featuring specialties such as Carbonnade, Welsh au Maroilles, Croquette au Maroilles, and sliced Potjevleesch served with salad and fries). We also indulged in a delightful dessert, perfect for sharing. *La Flamanderole - thin regional butter waffles with regional vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate, and whipped cream. Booking in advance is definitely recommended!

very nice typical restaurant, very welcoming location. the dishes are good. not recommended for those who don't like cheese, in the room there is a strong smell of it (if you like it, you will appreciate it). the desserts are fantastic and very big. Average price, for a beer (50cl), welsh and a dessert 28€.

Good estaminet with traditional food from the region. My favorite one on the Gand street. Last time I came I saw a mouse though 😅

Best to make a reservation before you come as it can get quite crowded. Here you will find traditional Lille cuisine that you won’t find in other parts of France. It was recommended by a local friend. Food served is quite rustic, no frills but not cheap either. We ordered the what looked like a baked cheese flan tart to start that was incredibly delicious. My favourite was the beef slow cooked in beer that was so tender and soft… would have preferred mashed potatoes as it would have gone so well with the gravy but it came with a large portion of fries instead. The chicken baked in cream and cheese was a bit too rich but nonetheless quite delicious.

L’œuf ou la Poule is a popular local restaurant in the heart of Arras, offering traditional French dishes with a modern twist. The menu features a variety of chicken dishes, guinea fowl, and vegetable risotto expertly prepared with locally sourced and fresh ingredients. The restaurant is known for its perfectly cooked egg dishes from free-range hens. Visitors can enjoy friendly service and a buzzing atmosphere while savoring heavenly desserts.
Unpretentious restaurant, but very classy food: the quality is about as good as you can get. There were 7 of us, and we ate on the terrace, evening time on a Friday. All seats inside and out were taken. Our waitress was brilliant.

Really enjoyed this place. Excellent food - as the name suggests, they are chicken specialists! I had L'oeuf parfait "espuma" de maroilles for a starter and 'La fameuse poule au pot' for my main. Both were delicious. Just down a side street from the main square in Arras, this is well worth a visit. (See profile for star rating policy.)

Great food, great service, reasonably priced. We loved it and would happily eat here again! We booked online a couple of weeks in advance which is definitely recommended, as it was full on a Friday night. The waitress was happy to speak in English and help us understand the menu options - really helpful, thank you. The Chicken in a Pot was great, the perfect egg starter was also great, and the chocolate egg for dessert finished it off magnificently. It worked out to €33 each (4 adults) including a bottle of wine. Great quality food for the price. :-)

Small local restaurant near the train station and town square in Arras. Locally sourced and very fresh ingredients. The kitchen was spotless and the service was courteous and prompt. We had an enjoyable lunch with our kids. They have seating inside as well as outside. The dishes were creative and the presentation was well thought out. We would return should we find ourselves in Arras again.

Le Barbue d'Anvers is a wonderful restaurant known for its hearty dishes, fresh seafood, and extensive beer selection. The two-story building features a bistro-style environment with an interior design that showcases wooden elements and unique ornaments. Some of the exquisite dishes include beer-cooked shellfish with vegetables and a delicious duck dish with potatoes, artichokes, and truffles.
Le Barbue d’Anvers was a fantastic experience. We were here at New Year’s Eve when they open at 12. As a starter we choose (unfortunately) only one plate to share of their sausage plate. As the main courses we had three different plates. All were served on very hot plates. This is just love <3 The food stays hot for the whole meal <3 The stu was very good, the beef was excellent, and the chicken was good. This was an excellent experience even if I did not manage to get my digestive at the end (needed to rush out to catch a train) .

I found this place by mistake as I walking down town in Lille and decided to give it a try. I was alone and I tried the croquet maroilles, the poulet maroilles and a 500ml local beer. Firstly, the croquet maroilles was excellent. It was served with salad and it was exceptionally good (costed 7 euro). Secondly the chicken was good but not the best I tried. The sauce was a bit thin and had not a lot of flavour. The plate was served with fried potatoes which were tasty (costed 19.5 euro). Lastly, the beer was exceptional 😁. I must say that the hospitality and helpfulness of the personnel was beyond expectations and made the whole experience amazing. Very well done.

Its a cosy restaurant which is located in a alley closed to Grand Place of Lille (not so far from Rihour metro station). There are seat outdoor and indoor (1st floor). The food is delicious, beer is good as well. Price is around 30euro/each person. But I wish restaurant make more bread instead of french frites. Otherwise, quick preparation of food and warm atmosphere.

Anna R — Google review
This restaurant sits in a sort of building backyard, preceded by two others more economical places I'd say (judging from what it was served), so it was found almost because of a chance and - at the net of my experience - I wish I would have not found it at all. Firstly, it has to say that we arrived here only because we were after dining while eating the two popular Lille dishes: the carbonnade flamande (stewed meat) and waterzoï (boiled poultry in bouillon with cream). We couldn't find any of those on the first top 5 restaurants we visited on our path, and being already 8pm we decided to give it a go to this place, though the cost already put me on the warning condition. But I thought, ok these are local special mains, so they must somehow be with worth; hence we entered. At the entrance, the waiter indicates is the table number where we can sit. He said you can go upstairs, table 10. Every restaurant I've been so far, even the cheapest, has always seen waiters escorting us to the table, so this was already collecting its second negative point. Finally at the second floor, another waiter see us arriving, and when I said about the table, it let us accommodate next to a table close to the kitchen (which was having the door fully open because of the hot weather and the fact they could not keep their windows open), a fridge with cold drinks and the elevator used by guests (the space for passing between my chair and the lift was so reduced, that I wonder what would have happened if a person on a wheel chair was there). Anyway, the waiter comes with the blackboard with the daily selection, but we say we want those dishes. He suggests that they will take only five minutes to be prepared and whether we were ready to eat. We just say so and literally after seven minutes the mains arrive, clearly suggesting previously cooked food, which in fact was barely warm, tasty, but definitely not worth the money they sought. In serving the meal, part of my stew was poured on the underneath napkin; when it came the time of the wine, some drops went on the table, and the tea (served in a metal teapot you usually get in a second-hand style bar) was heavily dropped on the table. The dessert selection was almost okay, and the glasses of wines good, but this was very little to compensate the bill. Toilets are in the basement, where a second guest hall is located, with the gents with a door open and the hand wash basin in the main room somehow.

VERY good. Doesnt have too many reviews but it's a pretty great restaurant. You should definitely try two very typicals plats from lille: Welsh and Carbonnade flamande. And "mix" them a little bit. The pain perdu was also very good 👌 It was about 20€ per person.

Tourist trap. Staff is friendly, prices are friendly, but the food was not good. Welsh was cold / partly luke warm and the carbonade Flamande was very sugary and half of the meat was hard and inedible. That's NOT how it is supposed to be in a real Flemish kitchen. Wish we had chosen a better restaurant.

La Ducasse is a charming bistro nestled in the heart of Lille, boasting over 30 years of rich heritage. This delightful spot transforms into a lively gathering place during village festivities, especially on Fridays when an accordionist adds to the ambiance. The menu features local specialties like rabbit with prunes and pork tenderloin cooked with beer and brown sugar, alongside sweet treats such as Chtiramisu and Brussels waffles.
My boyfriend (dutch) enjoyed very much the welsh - and survived it. And then, he wanted more cheese... We took l'assiette de fromage (10,50€) But he would have wished more cheese was present (3 cheeses) on his Assiette de fromage (10,50€). He enjoyed the cheeses ("ja, lekker" )

Went with short notice to the restaurant as part of a group of 16. The service was, on the whole good, and the one main course missed was identified quickly by staff and rectified withon a reasonable time (although disappointing). Good selection including a 'taster dish' with tastes of many dishes. Menu contains local specialities and also horse and snails. House red wine and beers very good, great evening, thanks to all.
Julia B — Google review
Great interior, very much friendly and helpful stuff. If you can, stay away from Welsh complete, the ham and cheese are too salty, the bread is surprisingly dry and stiff. I am not aware how it should taste, maybe the dish itself was just as it should be? However, fries was tasteless and oil was just dripping out of it.

Incredibly good food and excellent service. We had a jambette de porc à la bière, frits salade and a le Welsh complete, with a red wine. For dessert, we had a chocolate mousse. Chez Raoul Estaminet is a charming eatery that pays tribute to the beloved local icon, Raoul de Godewarsveld. Nestled along Rue de Gand, this quaint spot boasts a vibrant nautical decor that instantly makes you feel at home. The menu features an array of traditional Northern dishes, including mouthwatering mussels and fries, hearty carbonnade flamande, and the delectable Welsh rarebit with Maroilles cheese.
Service was just perfect (many thanks to Doga who explained us everything), ambiance of the street tables is also nice. We liked the seafood plate and the mussels were very delicious but other French food was not for our taste. As many other restaurants in that area they have a limited menu ( it looks like they all have the same menu!) Overall the restaurant is nice for a meal in Lille. Reservation is needed not to wait.
Tugce E — Google review
Service is good, foods are delicious but too much popular, starter table with calamary, shrimp and tartar. But they are a bit oily. Main course are average, mussels and steak. We places upstairs it was soo hot and airless.
Pelin A — Google review
The restaurant gave cabin vibes, it felt like you were eating under the decks of a wooden boat. It was our first experience with Flemish food so we were quite open to trying it out. The escargot was escargot, fairly standard, We would have preferred it a bit chewier? Maybe it was a different species than those in Paris. The portion of the mussels was great for it's price. But they were quite small, sized similar to clams. The salmon Welsh was essentially salmon baked in lots of cheese. It was delicious at first, but with each bite it just got greasier and heavier. This however was no fault of the restaurant, it's just probably how the dish is. Funnily there was a cat running around with staff chasing it throughout the night. Would recommend for those who loves flemish foods.
Hadrian L — Google review
I had high hopes for Chez Raoul Estaminet in Lille after seeing so many great Google reviews, but unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the reputation. The escargot was quite underwhelming — the texture and flavor were off, almost cardboard-like. The platter for two was decent but nothing particularly memorable, and the mussels, which I was most looking forward to, turned out rather bland and lacked the punch of flavor you’d expect in Lille. Service was fine and the setting is cozy, but overall, the experience fell short of expectations. I’ll probably explore other spots for mussels next time.
Rodney L — Google review
Interesting decor, but the restaurant is very dimly lit. We were sat at an awkward table by the stairs. I thought I was in a play as the staff kept chasing the cat upstairs through our meal (it seemed to really enjoy a particular spot behind our table). We got the welsh (salmon) and mussels. Perhaps it's just me, but the food was very greasy. I had an upset stomach for the next two days. Wasn't a huge fan of the welsh.
Eunice W — Google review
What a find! The staff were lovely and so friendly - the food was amazing! We had snails, croquettes and mussels as our main (you only need one pot to share) with fries. Finished off with a bottle of Rose Gris. Could not recommend this highly enough - don’t miss it !!

I think I have discovered that i am just not a fan of Northern French/Flemmish food. Sooooo much cheese and grease and meat. (Translated by Google) Lunch with family this afternoon. I'd already heard about this restaurant, and well, its reputation precedes it. It's simply delicious. I think it's the best restaurant I've been to so far. My congratulations to the chef, as well as the waiters, who are very discreet and keep an eye on you out of the corner of their eyes (unfortunately, we were in a hurry and asked for the dishes to be served one after the other, which was of course done). The balance of flavors is very refined, the presentation is very good, and the plate in front of you is already very good. The dessert was just as excellent as the rest, and the appetizer menu is extensive; you'll find what you're looking for. The service is impeccable, as is the establishment, with its lovely decor. We will definitely return. The cheese platter caught our eye, but we didn't have time to try it 😁 Thank you for your cuisine. The two negative points that I was able to note would be the slowness of the service but also the amenities that are located nearby. upstairs. The server was very pleasant. The parking lot behind the restaurant is a positive point because given its location it can be complicated to park. I had a good time in this restaurant which I highly recommend. I had the pleasure of discovering Maison Demarcq twice this weekend, and each experience was a complete success. On Friday afternoon, we had lunch at the brasserie. The meal was simply delicious. The flank steak was perfect, and what can I say about the Welsh I tasted... it was literally to die for, one of the best I've ever eaten! The same goes for the kids' burger :) The next day, what a wonderful surprise to find Maison Demarcq as the caterer for Julie and Gilles' wedding at Château d'Esnes. From the cocktail reception to the meal, everything was incredibly refined and delicious (the salmon tartare starter and the risotto were to die for!). A truly flawless experience that delighted all the guests. I would like to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to Guillaume, the maître d'hôtel. His professionalism is beyond compare. Despite the scorching heat, he provided exceptional and flawless service, always with a smile from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. He took great care of each person, with an attention and kindness that I had honestly never seen anywhere else. He greatly contributed to the magic of this moment. My only regret? Not living in the area, because I would use their services again without hesitation. If you're looking for excellence, whether for a lunch in town or the event of a lifetime, you've found the right place. Bravo and thank you. If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than L'informel l'atelier du burger. This charming eatery boasts an incredibly friendly waiter who makes you feel right at home. The menu features mouthwatering homemade burgers that are cooked to perfection, accompanied by fresh salads and unique sauces that elevate your meal. While the fries could use a little tweaking—some found them a tad too crispy—the overall experience is still highly enjoyable.

Nestled in the charming town of Bondues, Le Val d'Auge is a culinary gem that showcases the artistry of young chef Christophe Hagnerelle. With a background that includes stints with renowned chefs and international experiences, he brings a fresh perspective to seasonal cuisine. The restaurant's red brick facade sets the stage for an inventive menu that highlights local ingredients, particularly fish and game when in season.
I took a break in my Michelin 3 Stars Challenge (and brushing up my Parisian challenge) with a trip in Lille. I wanted to try a local star aimed at the local clients. Oh boy! What a night! So what’s great here? Well, the kindness of the staff as to be ranked first. It’s not an insult to the rest, it’s just that they are incredibly kind. I’ve done a lot of gastronomic restaurants, so I know that they are often kind because I’m the client. Here, there are just kind because they are. Second thing is that I had incredibly good wine. They had my personal favorite champagne, so one could say that my judgment is biased… May be, but still, the magic worked. The service was nice, the atmosphere was great and the cuisine was as local as they could. The result? It felt so genuine. A very strong one star. Even Stronger in my heart. I’ll be back next time I’m Lille, that’s for sure!

La Table is the restaurant of the 5-star Clarance Hotel located in Vieux-Lille. The chef, Alexandre Miquel, emphasizes local products such as responsibly sourced fish and freshly picked herbs from the garden. Thibaut Gamba, the head chef, showcases his modern and creative cuisine with influences from Scandinavian and American cooking techniques. The intimate wood-paneled dining rooms or leafy garden provide a beautiful setting for savoring innovative seasonal dishes.
What can I say? The food was excellent, and I particularly liked the Langoustine starter. The main dish, which was beautifully cooked duck, was also excellent. The weather was beautiful and that meant we sat outside while enjoying our meal. The price was reasonable considering it was a hotel restaurant with a Michelin star. I highly recommend La table for lunch. The restaurant interiors are beautiful and you feel like you are enjoying a bit of luxury while having excellent French food!

In summary, one of the, if not the most disappointing Michelin experiences we have ever had. Definitely not worth a star (had to look it up afterwards if we may have missed something). Though it started with a nice glass of champagne, the amuses were already signalling that we might get disappointed. And indeed, throughout all courses a lack of creativity and subtlety in taste and presentation was experienced. On a positive note, the excellent champagne was followed by a good choice of wines which paired nicely with the courses. It was funny that the waitress asked my wife if she would like to make use of the optional selection of cheeses when it was already mentioned in advance and confirmed at the start that she would not like to have cheese in her food. Also when collecting our coats, she got distracted by someone from outside, walked outside together with the receptionist, leaving us standing alone in the lobby with our coats in our hands. Nothing serious but it made us chuckle as it’s not something you expect in a star restaurant. So in short, we tried La Table once but never again.
Bart N — Google review
Terrible experience! Never coming back. This was our fourth visit in three years, and it will be the last. The change of chef is obvious — and not for the better. We ordered the monkfish tandoori: completely over-spiced, unpleasant, and not at all what you’d expect from La Table du Clarance. The dessert? Not even worth mentioning — a total disappointment. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place.
Cha C — Google review
Restaurant: good food (but not spectacular), service is inexperienced and overall awkward. Very young and shy waiters at times. But friendly and well intentioned. A few short comings: one waiter forgot to describe a dish, our water pitcher was left empty for a long time - mistakes do happen, but usually the basics are well covered once you get to the 1* level. I really appreciate when asked “how was it?”, but perhaps not 10 times in a meal :). I suggest varying the questions and be slightly more informal once the relation with the guest is built - some restaurants do this very well (even at the 2 or 3* level, which one might expect would be more formal...). Overall, this is still a very solid lunch for 60 EUR, despite a few flaws noted above. The setting is great as well!
Henry H — Google review
We were in Lille for a citytrip. We made a reservation at la Table for two. We came with high expectations. Unfortunately, the dinner did not reach our expectations by a mile. Firstly, the 9 meal course we chose, was served in more or less than 2 hours! I have not even experienced this with 6 course meals at other Michelin starred restaurants. Three tables that arrived at the same time, including us, followed the same tempo and a lady from another table still had 2 glasses of wine unfinished, while the 3th glass was already being served. The courses were kind of flat, and did not blow us away in flavor or creation. One of the starters was literally a cracker. The exception was the course with pigeon, which was very tasty. Also, the wine explanation was very concise, and took only 2-3 sentences. We were kind of disappointed with that, as we expected to learn a bit more about the wine and the pairing to the menu. Normally, I wouldn’t mind, but since it is a Michelin star restaurant. I’d expect more. Due to my experience, as I have worked in Michelin starred restaurants and dined at various places, the expectations were high, but La Table could simply not reach the expectations. Lastly, the staff, and primarily the lady who served us did a great job. Very friendly, great explanation of the dishes and proactive! But overall, we are disappointed in this experience and La table could not reach our expectations at all, since we were really looking forward to this.

On the Hotel side : Everything was perfect. The service, from reception, desk, to door and cleaning service, was extremely helpful, smiling and efficient. The room was spacious, matress very comfortable, everything very clean, some welcome treats. 100% would recommend the hotel. On the restaurant's side : a bit disapointed here, especially for a one Michelin Star. The dining room is very beautiful, in an old private house with mouldings. Service very efficient, and again, smiling and helpful. It's more on the cuisine's side that comes disapointment. Some amuse bouche were served too cold, taking away part of the taste (same goes for the different butters). The squash espuma with mousse and seeds wasn't seasoned enough leaving it quite meh experience. Same for the scallops, almost no seasoning. On the opposite, pigeon was cooked at perfection, and worked well with beetroot, but still some nerves in the meat. And disapointed in the signature ravioles, where the red cabbage taste was totally surpassed by the spices, so you couldn't taste it at all. Big kuddos for the cheese plate though, not only original ones, but the waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, so many thanks to her, this cheese board was a true enjoyment.
Yves L — Google review
Looking forward to a wonderful qualitative dinner, we left rather disappointed thinking French cuisine unfortunately has lost its aura at this place. The lighting is too strong and does not compliment room nor guests. Waitress had awful fake hyper long nails which, as it’s commonly known, carry bags of dirt. Food was OK yet not great - garlic amuse bouche tartlets being the best bit. The raviole’s broth was rather tasteless. Happy we added the caviar to the cod which otherwise would not have had reason to be Michelin starred. Dessert really not nice at all. I was given a macaron with candle for my birthday which was nice. Staff hoovering the room next door and partying before we left (around midnight) We (3 guests) are €765 lighter yet nor more satisfied.
François-Xavier D — Google review
The nine-course dinner we had was extremely tasteful, creative and beautifully presented. Our absolute favourite was the liquorice steamed sole with Beluga caviar while the roasted saddle of lamb was less our favourite. We took the suggested wine pairing and all wines fitted the dishes very well although we both weren’t fond of the paired cocktail with the dessert. The setting and its decor is very nice and the service by the friendly and welcoming staff was very good but a little bit too fast. We would have preferred a little bit more time in between dishes so we could even more enjoy them. Nonetheless we had a great and unforgettable culinary evening at star level

The menu offers options at around 35e for a starter, main course, and dessert, or around 45e for the same plus three drinks. Dishes like Homemade Foie Gras and Duck breast are highlights. While some improvements were suggested, overall it provides a great dining experience with good food and service.

(Translated by Google) Excellent food, especially the starters! In terms of dishes it was also very good except for the catch of the day, I found scales and bones... However the fish was good. Nothing to say about the service, it was perfect. As said in previous comments, the emergency exit is blocked by a table, this is a point to be rectified. (Original) Cuisine excellente, surtout les entrées ! Au niveau des plats c'était également très bon sauf pour la pêche du jour, j'ai retrouvé des écailles et arrêtes ... I went there with my love for a romantic moment. And I can say that's quite an address to have in your list. Their food is visually flawless, and the taste, oh my gosh, so harmonious ! (Translated by Google) We came to dinner last night with friends at the restaurant Le N9uF in Laventie. When we arrived, the owner had his back to the front door; his wife, pleasant and smiling, welcomed us, but he didn't even turn around to greet us. This gave a cold impression from the start. Then, the famous Flemish carbonnade, even though it was touted as a world champion, disappointed us: the meat was dry and lacking in any particular flavor. Finally, we waited so long to be offered dessert that we decided to abstain. I do not recommend this place. (Original) Nous sommes venus dîner hier soir entre amis au restaurant Le N9uF à Laventie. Ensuite, la fameuse carbonade flamande, pourtant présentée comme championne du monde, nous a déçus : la viande était sèche et sans saveur particulière. Please, change your working hours. If you are not willing to accept guests one hour before advertised closing time, than it would be fair to do so. Today, Saturday, we came at 13:55 and we were rejected! More then one hour before closing time! No, it wasn't full. The tables at the entrance were empty, already cleaned. At least two tables. And the waitress didn't tell us that you were full, but that the kitchen was no longer working! I would understand if it was half an hour before closing, but more than an hour is really strange! I understand the difference between business hours and service hours, it's up to you to advertise as such, if necessary with a one-hour difference. Thank you for the quick response!

His smile, his availability and his attention really left an impression on me. An exceptional person who I hope to see in this restaurant for a long time! She took care to choose a beautiful table for me in the sun and, to make me completely comfortable, she took care of my coat and hat with great elegance. The room service was equally impeccable. The server showed great professionalism and respected the timing perfectly. I also liked the fact that even drinks, like Coke Zero, were served in a carafe, a small, elegant and practical detail. Little touches, like pretty flowers on the tables, are very appreciated and add a touch of refinement. Just like the Christmas decoration at the entrance. Finally, the food is absolutely delicious. Each dish is prepared with care and the flavors are there. An address that I recommend without hesitation and where I will return with great pleasure. Royal Couscous is a popular spot known for its delicious couscous and tagines. The friendly staff and generous portions make it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. While primarily a takeaway spot, the family-sized meals ensure that there's plenty to enjoy at home. The owner's accommodating nature and English-speaking skills add to the welcoming atmosphere of this establishment.
At the moment (Aug 2023) this is more of a family takeaway spot. The meals are designed to be taken home and as such they are family-sized and they don’t provide utensils. The owner was very friendly and speaks English and made some accommodation for me since I’m just visiting, which I appreciate very much!

Le Château de Beaulieu is a charming country chateau hotel that offers a delightful dining experience and contemporary brasserie. The renowned restaurant, led by Chef Christophe Dufosse, showcases seasonal and regional flavors sourced from local producers and artisans. The commitment to sustainability is evident in the use of fresh ingredients from the orchard and kitchen garden. Guests can enjoy impeccable service and excellent food presentation, with opportunities to interact with the head chef for a fine dining experience.
This stunning Chateaux has the most wonderful modern feel and look inside. The staff were friendly and helpful. The spa is idyllic, and the restaurants, both the 2* and the bistro, are superb. Christophe was present and greeted all his guests after the meal. This is a little gem, and we would highly recommend it.
Han W — Google review
Welcome to Hospitality… Reimagined as Hostility Let me start by congratulating this hotel on achieving something truly rare: making me feel deeply regretful within minutes of arrival. That takes skill. The front desk welcome—if we’re being generous enough to call it that—was delivered by a blonde woman (Melani, I think), who greeted us with all the warmth and charm of a disgruntled border guard. If looks could kill, we wouldn’t have made it to the lobby. I wasn’t sure whether we were checking in or being scolded for trespassing. Now, I understand that not everyone speaks English or German. Fair enough. But here’s a fun idea: in a five-star hotel that presumably hopes to attract international guests, maybe—just maybe—hire staff who can manage a basic sentence in either? Or at least someone who can fake it convincingly? Moving on to the real punchline: the dogs. The only reason we chose to come back here was because we had such a lovely, dog-friendly stay last November. This time? Leashes are mandatory at all times. Surprise! Of course, this wasn’t mentioned during the booking process—because why would transparent communication be part of the guest experience? Far more fun to spring it on you after you’ve unpacked. And let’s not forget the cherry on top: a check-in time of 4 p.m. and check-out at noon. Because clearly, it takes a mere 16 hours to truly bask in the splendour of this place. Or maybe they just need four hours to emotionally recover from the effort of interacting with guests. In short, if you enjoy being treated like a nuisance for taking the best type of room available, relish being kept in the dark about key policies, and appreciate the thrill of a passive-aggressive check-in, then this is absolutely the hotel for you. Otherwise? Spare yourself.

Superb. Brilliant if you want a gorgeous hideaway to stay an hour from Calais. We had a great massage and a smoker steak for dinner. The only thing I would recommend to the management is that the pillows definitely need an upgrade otherwise all great.

Utterly underwhelming, definitely not 5-star facilities or service. Decor is unattractive and the grounds are too. Service is just not very good. The breakfast wasn't good, and the service was poor (waited 15 minutes without being offered tea or coffee or pastries, and eventually had to ask for it), and the napkins were paper. There's neither lotion nor conditioner in the rooms (in a suite, no less). The pool/spa is so small that even though the hotel seemed empty they were completely full, so I gave up and never used them. The hallway in front of the rooms smells like a portable toilet. The water isn't hot. There's neither much water nor any milk for tea/coffee in the rooms. The fancy 2-star Michelin restaurant was fine, but not memorable, and my fish was undercooked to the point of being rubbery, and the service was also lacking . . . we poured our own wine, had to send glasses back for bad smells and cutlery for having grease on it. The soups and sauces were all luke warm. For the price, this is definitely not worth it.
Suriya J — Google review
Came here to celebrate with late lunch with extended family of 12 which was reserved months in advanced. Service was impeccable and the food presentation was excellent. It was a huge plus when the head chef came out to talk with us (see video) and we all enjoyed our fine dining experience. The grounds are lovely to stroll around after your meal and there's a nice shop to find that perfect gift. Apparently, during the summer, they have the outside BBQ and smoker going... we'd love to taste what that's like. Note, we did not stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms, but it looked very nice and in a super quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend to stop by the high end or the brasserie for a well presented meal, but don't forget to make your reservations early. Plus, there are a few EV Chargers available for free use in the parking lot : )

The ideal final stop after a holiday visit to France, to be spoiled before going thro' the tunnel or ferry home. Take time to walk around the grounds of the Chateau to unwind, then work up an appetite before enjoying a superb dinner in the only 2 michelin star restaurant for miles around. You will be thoroughly spoiled and just as you are ready to quit they'll bring the tempting final sweet trolley out !

Room 19. They never seem to get it quite right I stayed there several times. One time the bedsheets were wet on the bed when we arrived and I was told yes I have just been washed they should dry by the time you go to bed. This time when we stayed in a hotel our room did not have hot water so I complained and I said they are renovating the rooms and also when I went to pay at the reception there was another gentleman who did not have water as well and excuse was sorry the water is just warm and we have contacted the technician. Also as you can see from the photo the bathroom had cracked floor tiles which could be dangerous to your feet. For a hotel of the standing I do not find this normal especially as Thy have a reputation to keep up. As far as the food is concerned it is excellent and the service in the dining rooms is excellent as well. I’m sorry that I had to write this review this is true.

I absolutely love this place! It’s very local and serves all the northern French dishes. The staff were super friendly and also spoke English. I am visiting Lille for 3 days and I ate here twice. The la carbonade flamande is amazing 10/10 would recommend.

Good atmosphere and clean restaurant. I ate some traditional meal in Lille which was called Le welsh du nord. It was very rich and deep flavor of cheese. they came with massive a bowl of hot chips. I would've liked to give it 3.5 stars. The food was good. The portions generous. I wouldn't go as far as calling it exceptional. The service was very friendly. We were 4 of us in the basement seating area. The acoustics of the place are not conducive to discussion. My friend who was at the same table, only diagonally opposite me was difficult to hear. I would like to mention that the restaurant was full. This explains the noise and also the popularity of the establishment. I might go there again if I need to.

We came on a short break with no prior experience of Lille. Searching through TA, the first thing we realised is how many restaurants don't open on Sunday! Fortunately Le Chat did and it was a fairly easy walk from our hotel. It was quiet when we arrived (7pm) and the staff were very attentive. It's only a small place and as someone else observed, quite rustic in style. The menu is fairly limited and relatively few choices for veggies (2/3 in our party), but we all manged to find something and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the Carbonade flamande which was excellent, a local beer and then a creme brulee. I think your expectations will determine your review of this place. If you want good value, simple surroundings, well cooked food and friendly staff, then you should enjoy it like we did.

Trying to have dinner with no reservation on a Saturday evening on rue de Gand, is quite a challenge, not gonna lie... We ended up here, very busy and service was ok. We went for a Welsh, surprisingly good, it was a long time since I didn't have some that was good! They have a formula appetizer+ main or main + dessert for ok price, went for the Speculoos tiramisu, which was meh... It didn't taste like Speculoos at all, or tiramisu actually.. felt like it was coming from the fridge with a mountain of whipped cream... Who put whipped cream on a tiramisu???? Nonetheless, we had a good evening in the end...

No, because there are a few details that become annoying after a while. You have to justify your request for well-cooked meat each time, which isn't necessarily gastronomic standards, but I'm sorry, it's just my taste. Bread isn't always offered at the table. It's fine if it's to avoid waste, but having to ask three times to finally get bread served at the end of the meal is very disappointing. (Original) Un grand classique. Across the street, guests can enjoy great food at the restaurant with excellent French cuisine at reasonable prices.
I lovely enjoyed "soiree etape" during my trip.

Cosy hotel with spacious rooms. Breakfast menu lacks eggs. Wi-Fi rather slow and works unstable especially at the second floor. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Lightning on the rooms could be better in the corners and bathroom. Daily cleaning and towels change. Great food in the restaurant on the other side of the street.

Lovely french cuisine at affordable prices. None of the gourmet attitude. Actual large plates of excellent food and products. Great wine selection too.

L'eclusier in Gravelines is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're stopping by before catching the Eurotunnel or just looking for a delightful meal, this restaurant impresses with its swift service and generous portions. Diners rave about the delicious steak, which many claim to be among the best they've had in years. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it perfect for both casual visits and special occasions.
We stopped here before boarding the Eurotunnel train, this is the last good meal we had before returning to Europe hahaha. Delicious steak and great service, will return (ASAP)

We have been here four or five times now either when arriving or in the way home to/from the UK. It’s an excellent restaurant. The service is attentive but not intrusive, the food is amazing with options for everyone and the wine list is extensive. It is also well priced. We were there on Easter Sunday and it was full of regulars and had a great atmosphere. We look forward to returning again.

We arrived at 8 PM at a very busy hour and were given menu cards within almost seconds. Our drinks and food arrived within 5 minutes, mind you there were only 4 people working! This is amazing service. The side dish portions are very big (especially the fries) and the food is very good. The prices are very cheap for such good food and service. Genuinely a good spot to remember. Their tarte citron is an amazing dessert.

Superb restaurant in a beautiful location - the most delicious steak I've had in years! Book well ahead to avoid disappointment. (Not a restaurant for vegans or vegetarians).

Lovely location and the food was delicious. I was able to book online and was able to sit on the terrace with our dog. Staff were friendly. I'd love to go back again.

Princess Elizabeth is a historic little ship from the WW2 Dunkirk evacuation, now restored and serving as an excellent restaurant. The modern and comfortable decor, polite staff, and good selection of menu items cater to all tastes. The food is simple yet refined, with ingredients retaining their original flavors and house-prepared sauces adding unique tastes. While the service may not be fast, the deliciously cooked meals make it worth a visit for a wonderful dining experience on this iconic vessel.
Birthday lunch Easter 2025. Boat was lovely. Food was delicious but my daughter struggled to find vegetarian choices. She settled on the one identified dish which she assured us was really good. I recommend the French martini ! Nice atmosphere on board but menu on French ( i know, how dare they! 😂) and staff didn’t speak English well enough to describe dishes to us. So - have a look at the menu before you go is my tip of the day, it’s on their website. Well worth a visit and a memorable birthday lunch.

We had a traditional menu for dinner, staff was friendly and we enjoyed the dishes. Prices are a bit overrated but it's justified with the location and the restaurant itself.
Lolita — Google review
The food was impeccable. I enjoyed being there, it was definitely an experience. The staff was friendly, however every time I was approached in French, even though it had been established that I didn't speak any. As a tourist I understand I'm the visitor, but I found it a bit pointless.
Karin B — Google review
Good quality, prices are somewhat adequate given that it is France and the location/story/setting of the restaurant. Service depends on the waiter, some were super friendly and explained & advised, others were more impersonal and quite robotic
Nikolay K — Google review
Poor. Visited as a large group. Veal starter was very acidic. Main was duck and was cold. Service far too rushed. Nice drinks. The real disaster and disappointment here was a dessert was spilled on my colleague’s knee whilst seated. Very poor apology. Would not visit again.

Incredible restaurant on board the HMS Princess Elizabeth (who saved 1650 soldiers from Dunkirk in 1940). Beside the location the food, wines, cocktails, whisky and everything else is perfect, even the bill. A must.

We had a very nice lunch here and they accommodated my gluten-free needs very well. Their online reservation system worked very well except some timings do not reflect the restaurant closure but they called us to inform us and modify our timing.

It’s just amazing. The boat is owned by the urban community and rented by a restaurant by a mechanism of pu lic services delegation . I didn't had lots of choices but I have appreciated the moment spent there because of the spectacular view

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience in Lille, look no further than PANCOOK Lille. This charming restaurant has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The warm and welcoming staff ensure that every guest feels at home, making it an ideal spot for gatherings with friends or special occasions like birthdays. The menu is a delightful surprise, changing daily and presented on a handwritten board. While the primary language is French, the attentive servers are more than willing to assist with translations when needed.
A very good place to try something northern. The bread dish is the signature dish of PANCOOK. You can try all three flavors because they offer a small variations of three. But I personally prefer the one with mushroom. The fries were also nice! Staff is friendly as well.

We were a group of 6 here on a Saturday night. Service was amazing, so attentive and informative, and thankfully equipped for English speakers. The food was delicious, not too fussy but hearty, flavoursome and well cooked - particularly the trio of Pancooks which I was a little apprehensive about! Loved the organic wine that was recommended to us as well. We were even handed written recommendations for places to go for a drink afterwards after letting on to the waiter what our plans for the rest of the evening were. Definitely worth a visit.

Wonderful experience with delicious and warm service. The food is not expensive by any means but it's not cheap. It a great place for occasional treats.

Really nice place! The ‘pancook’ specialty of the house is excellent, portions are generous and prices are modest. Our waiter was a legend, trying to speak English to us as we aren’t fluent in French. He was also super friendly!

Their Bourgogne red was great! And the flamande was out of this world
Ale — Google review
Booked a table for my girlfriends birthday and it was honestly brilliant. The waiter spoke some English and was still very talkative and helpful. We of course Ended up getting two pancooks, the flamand and the Normand (which was the better one out of the two!) And they were both delicious. By far the best dinner I've had in Lille and one I'd recommend to anyone coming to Lille!
Chris C — Google review
Very great restaurant, great date spot. Make a reservation as it gets busy. The menu changes daily and is hand written on the board (in French) fortunately one server spoke English and could translate for us but don't rely on that in case he isn't working. The staff was amazing even with language barrier and the food was Devine. Obviously the Pancook (bread pies) are a must and the shrimp croquettes were excellent as well. Skip cocktails- as they are just a glass of room temp spirit and a bottle of soda/tonic on the side to pour in- get beer or wine.

La Fossetta is a restaurant in Lille known for its traditional Italian recipes and generous portions. The setting is charming with wood and red checkered tablecloths, creating a convivial and authentic dining experience near the Grand Place and the Opera. Despite its large capacity, the restaurant maintains a warm atmosphere where guests are welcomed warmly. The portions are notably generous, making it an ideal choice for those with hearty appetites.
Very friendly and accommodating staff! Excellent and speedy service. Food is delicious. English menu available for us ignorant people who don't speak the language. Merci!

This place was buzzing during lunchtime! The atmosphere was lively, and everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were lucky to grab a table inside without waiting. The truffle pizza stole the show – absolutely loved it! They even accommodated my husband's food restrictions seamlessly. While my carbonara wasn't exactly what I expected – a bit more milky/creamy than egg-based – we still had a great time overall.

Waiting time is not that long but if so it is worth it, as the food is very good. Good portions and very tasty. Staff is very nice and the terrace is a quiet place so you can enjoy a peaceful lunch. Recommend it.
Juan G — Google review
We visited this restaurant after seeing reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. The food was bland and very poorly presented. The children had an adults meal that resembled macaroni cheese, however it tasted of pasta dipped in milk. Our meals were chewy beef and a mushroom truffle pasta. Both tasted of nothing even after adding copious amounts of salt and pepper. I was very disappointed as we were only in Lille for 3 nights and this was a really disappointing meal. Service from waiters was good but food was very poor. I wouldn't recommend.
