All in all it was really good. The food was really good and tasty, they have a wide variety of different kinds of wine and other drinks. The service was also very good and the staff was so friendly. You might need a translator though if you do not speak Portuguese :) recommended for sure 👍

Nice traditional full-sized restaurant near the train station. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating with a lot of character. Sort of family-style tables inside, but still roomy and comfortable. I had the bargain lunch of the day, cheeseburger and fries, and it wasn't the best choice in retrospect. There are a lot of tasty local dishes on the bargain menu and the main menu. The burger and fries were good, but with some grizzle, and I should have salted it. Very good straight-faced service and quick delivery of the food. I wouldn't order the burger again, but it was a perfectly fine meal for €6,70 or whatever!

Went on a Wednesday night, no need to book. Very cosy atmosphere with friendly service. Food was served quickly. Had the Algarve style squid and the Monkfish Loin with Shrimps. Both were simple but good. The squid was slightly too oily for me. Side dish (fries) for the Monkfish was simple but generous

Found this place by accident and delighted I did. It was around the corner from our accommodation. We were looking for something comforting and fresh and this place was magnificent. Waiters were professional and very helpful especially with choosing orders. Fish was delicious and fresh, prawns in garlic were delicious and bread came with cute little napkin basket too 😁 not to mention good cold beer. It's cash only,but it's clearly signed all over the restaurant. Would definitely recommend it and gladly come back again.

The food is super delicious and fresh, as you can see the fish in the freezer. The staff was very attentive to us and helpful. Affordable.

This place is a hidden gem! Great food. If you're in Faro, it's a must. I had black pork strips and they were so tasty. My friend had monkfish and massive prawns on a dangling skewer, it was like a work of art 😘👌

Big restaurant with evening entertainment. We asked for a table in the main restaurant (you can also dine in the open with a great view of the coast). We ordered a 'litre of Sangria' which was very nice although more of a soft drink! There was a lot of fruit in the jug which meant considerably less than a litre of drinkable sangria but it was tasty nevertheless. However, we ordered only a main course each and it took an hour to be served despite several 'nudges' to get served quicker. When it arrived, it was "OK" according to my wife and I would agree with that absolutely. However, the entertainment was excellent!

We went on a night with live traditional music and the atmosphere was really great, with a great view from the outdoor dining area aswell. The salmon dish was good and the cosmopolitan cocktail was okay. We followed that with the dessert 'Delicias do Algarve' which was a carob, fig and almond pie that I would definitely recommend. Initially we were greeted by friendly staff but after being seated, our waiter was quite the opposite and just made us feel like we were an imposition.

Get there early if you want a table 🍴by the water. Great views of the sunset🌅. Live music 🎶 most night.👍🏻. Good wasn’t great and for not being very busy with lots of staff on duty, service was slow. I had the veal and was burnt on one side🙁. My wife had the fish casserole and was dry🤬. Would go back for drinks but for food, there’s much better restaurant that offer better prices.

We had booked via Google to plan to watch the sunset after being told by a couple of locals that it has a good view. We decided to go for cocktails as we had already eaten at a nicer restaurant in town beforehand. After we had arrived we ordered our drinks and explained we didn’t want any food, the manager rushed over and rudely explained to us that we had booked through a website called “TheFork”, we had no knowledge of this and had booked through Google (as mentioned). He proceeded to be aggressive and rude, and frankly caused a scene. He mentioned we had cost him €3 per person to book, again we had no knowledge of this. It made us feel uncomfortable. Moreover, when I explained I was happy to reimburse him his €6 he was aggressive again and said reluctantly it’s okay you ordered cocktails. This gives the impression that we had paid just enough to be permitted into his restaurant! Finally, we would have ordered more cocktails and stayed for longer had the manager not been so rude. The cocktails are €10 each, so not exactly cheap. This was our only bad experience in Faro, the only good thing about this restaurant is the view. P.S. We ordered a water which cost us €5 also, this is daylight robbery, or in this case sunset robbery. Avoid

Lovely restaurant with a great view of the water and distant beaches. Food was very nice and fairly priced. Will definitely go again when back in Faro.

We booked through trip advisor planning to come for cocktails to watch the sunset. The drinks came quickly and were delicious. Manager came over and was angry at us, saying we booked for dinner through ‘fork’ when were just here for drinks. We have not heard of fork and booked through trip advisor where there was no option to choose dinner or drinks booking. We told him this and he still seemed annoyed and left us. We were then uncomfortable being there so decided we would leave. It was a shame as the other service staff were so incredibly lovely and one was trying to make us stay when we left. You must fix this problem with trip advisor if you are allowing to people book on it. Manager wished us a goodbye when we left. Place wasn’t even that busy when we came about 9:30. It’s a shame as we definitely would have stayed for many rounds of cocktails, which are not cheap.

We went together with our LOFT Community during Acoteia Festival and had a wonderful time. The ambient, the rooftop, the quality of the food and the flavours, the cozyness from the Chef. We loved it!

Tourist trap, avoid! The wine in the sangria tastes cheap, the food was extremely salty, and the fish in the main was like 5% of the meal as previous comments have identified. Did not appreciate the mixing of smoking and Non-smoking customers, public smoking is banned in the UK for a reason. I'm a foodie and bad food makes me feel bad. It leaves me not wanting to enjoy my night. The staff looked depressed, especially when there is a lovely pub next to you, at least try to make efforts in conversations with customers. Safe go say we won't be returning and will be passing on the message that it's a big trap, avoid it! Plenty of better options to wine and dine in Faro!

Better than expected. Got the octopus with sweet potatoes - it is exstreamly good and a must try. For that dish alone it is worth 5 stars!

We attended the market to table cooking class and it was the most fun we’ve had! We learnt so much information, and then learnt how to cook a cataplana - a new staple for our meals! Chef was incredible, and it was so lovely to chat to her! Included in this, we had lovely starters and drinks - service is incredible and it’s clear that everyone is very friendly and knowledgable!

Food was really tasty and portion was great. Staff was very kind and friendly. Sangria was awesome!!

I visited this restaurant today for a dinner. I ordered grilled seabass with roasted potatoes and salad accompanied by local beer, which was beautifully presented and tasted deliciously. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, and the interior was quite impressive. The service was really good, and the staff was attentive. I can easily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Faro.

We attended this restaurant 2/days ago and the meal was brilliant. But unfortunately on return I have to say the service was absolutely terrible,on ordering a bottle of red wine,soup,and a steak for me in which the waiter never even asked how I wanted it cooked,he returned and threw the menu at me and said they had no steak. We just got up and left,the waiter who was a black man was the rudest waiter we have ever come across and has no idea how to treat customers.So we never got to taste any food so that’s why we have not assessed the food.

We started with the couvert, something I rarely order, but it was absolutely worth it, along with a refreshing oyster ceviche as our starter. For the main course, we had pargo (a type of fish) that was perfectly cooked and delicious, served with a simple yet flavorful tomato and onion salad, grilled baby potatoes, and a shrimp “cachorrinho.” The service was excellent—our waiter, Filipe (if I recall correctly), was attentive and friendly. On top of that, the restaurant offers a stunning view of the beach. I definitely recommend heading up to the rooftop to make the most of it. A great spot for both the food and the atmosphere!

What an amazing place. Locally owned and not crowded. We had the best oysters and risotto ever in my life. And the view and breeze just tops it off!

4/5⭐️ Visited: October 16th 2025 (~13:00h) Order: 0.75l Sparkling water (4,50€), Passion Fruit Mocktail (6€), Rei das Praias Aperitif (7€), Rei das Praias Vinho Branco (7€), Couvert (8,40€), Cheese (4,50€), 2 Oysters (7,80€), Arroz de Marisco (59€) Food: - Drinks were very good through and trough, although a real non-alcoholic aperitif would have been nice, as the mocktail was not sparkling -Couvert: - three different types of bread, all very nice and quite different from each other - beetroot cream cheese, a little too sweet, could have used some acidity and a little more salz, but still tasty - two different kinds of fried meatballs (1 each), taste was ok, but they looked crunchy and were very soggy and not fresh enough, lowlight of the meal - olives, very tasty - cheese was also quite good, but quite a lot, considering the portion side of our main dish - oysters were served with fresh lemon, homemade piri-piri oil and tabasco, just used the lemon, very good quality Arroz de Marisco - served on a small chair next to the table in a pot, the waiter scooped our first portion on our plates to present it in a nice way - mussels, clams, piece of crab, shrimps all cooked very on point - amount was not well balanced, the waiter put most of the seafood on our first serving to make it look nice, which we only realized when we later opened the pot for seconds and there were only two shrimp and some clams left - rice could have cooked maybe 2 minutes longer, but it was at the beginning of al dente, so not a dealbreaker - the tomato based soup had a very natural flavor which was complemented well by the boiled seafood juices - huge portion after all of the starters it was very hard to finish Service/Atmosphere: - very friendly staff - vibe of the place is amazing, feels chique without being pretentious, especially when sitting on the rooftop with a view of the beach (not the prettiest beach in Algarve, but nice nonetheless) Verdict: We could have eaten less starters for more stomach space, but apart from the meatballs everything tasted great. The arroz de marisco was very tasty, even though the rice could have been cooked a little longer and the waiter could have left some more seafood in the pot for a second serving. Pleasant experience over all. I’m giving 2 stars and not 1 because the location is beautiful, the service is attentive, and the quality of the ingredients is definitely good. However, after eating at this restaurant, I didn’t feel great. The main problem is the recipes they use: whoever is in the kitchen clearly doesn’t know how to cook. I’ve never had a worse plate of spaghetti with clams: it was basically “pasta with butter” with chunks of bottarga that looked like candies. Who puts butter in spaghetti with clams??? You couldn’t taste any other flavor other than the butter, & on top of this, pasta was overcooked. About the tagliatelle with tomato and shrimp: they were drowning in cream, sour, spicy, and impossible to digest. Totally unacceptable, especially at €40 per dish. These are basic dishes that usually in Portugal are really tasty. Even the appetizers were a huge disappointment: way too salty. The best part of the meal was actually the bread service: the bread with tomato pesto sauce was really good. …Never again

Very bad experience, I booked the corner table for Sunday on Friday, but someone takes the table when I arrive on time! I triple checked the corner table that we could get. Then we spent our whole afternoon in the beach waiting for the dinner and sunset. The staff only told me it’s her problem she did not see the notices. I should wait for less than forty minutes. I do not what’s the massage used for? I did not see any services when the problem happened. No solutions, only waiting, the why I need to book in advance? Even I got the confirmation for the table!

This beachside restaurant is an absolute gem! 🌊 The views are spectacular. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is the real highlight: unbelievably fresh shellfish and perfectly cooked fish, full of flavor and clearly caught nearby. A must-visit for anyone who loves great seafood and stunning coastal vibes!

We had fantastic dinner here. Tried 11 tasting menu and it was surprise after surprise! It was all tiny portioned yet packed full of flavours! You wouldn’t disappoint by anything in this restaurant, food, staff and atmosphere were all superb yet relaxed.

Absolutely amazing experience at Gusto! The service, atmosphere, and food were all top-notch. The Fagottelli is a must-try, easily the best dish on the menu. Truly unforgettable.

They kept feeding me food. Milk bread was very fluffy and airy, along with the assortments of butter. The tapioca one amuse bouche is the winner of the line ups to me. I didn’t go for the tasting menu, but ordered the foie gras, carbonara, the fish dish from Algarve area and the soufflé. At the end, the chef came out to meet and signed the picture I took at the restaurant.

We have stayed in Conrad for my birthday. Dined in Gusto on first night and it was the best experience I have ever had. We have opted for 9 course tasting menu, spent three hours constantly eating! Extra bread and amuse Bouche, with some petit four to finish. Amazing sommelier recommended us local Alvarino. I would recommend from start to finish!

You enter the restaurant, and the first impression is excellent. The ambiance is warm, the staff are polite, professional, and well-trained. We enjoyed a drink at the bar, ordered a lovely bottle of wine and the tasting menu expecting a memorable evening. Each course was beautifully presented and properly explained. And then everything fell apart. The food was shockingly bad truly difficult to believe it had been tasted or approved by any chef before being served. With tasting menus, you accept that not every dish will suit your personal preference, but this wasn’t about preference. From the very first course, it was a complete failure. I am still stunned that this food was sent out of the kitchen. What makes it worse is that this is a fantastic hotel with outstanding service across every department. That level of excellence made the dining experience even more disappointing and frankly, unacceptable. I don’t say this lightly, I’ve had fast food meals that were far better.

Amazing restaurant, the tasting menu is really really good. You have a choice of 5 or 7 courses with or without wine pairing. The food and service are Michelin star quality. The tables are large and the location is stunning, overlooking the swimming pool of the Conrad resort. The staff is very nice and make you feel welcomed, without being too present. They speak all the languages!

Exceptional ambiance and service from start to finish. Professional and attentive staff. Food was divine, from start to finish every dish was brought out with care and thoughtful presentation. Amuse Bouche was one of the best I’ve ever had. The pork tacos reached the epitome of Mexican culinary art. Huge compliments to the chef.

Obviously exceptional! Cannot beat the service and surroundings. Worthy of 2 stars but not surprised they have not earned their 3rd. Start of the meal was very strong… ending savory courses were of course great but not on par with the canapés and small dishes that proceeded them. In particular ending with a very raspberry heavy squab and then going straight into the largest of the dessert courses that was all about cherries resulted in a bit of a dark fruit overload. On the whole still very much worth the trip (and price-tag) but not a top 15 experience for us.

The most exceptional lunch we’ve ever experienced. I booked this as a surprise for my partners 40th and we were taken excellent care of by Carolina and team from start to end. We had the privileged view of the kitchen and admired the chefs passion and attention to detail. We will definitely be back and would love to try the two Michelin starred restaurant.

What an astonishing place. The views, the food, the atmosphere, the warmth of the staff - just perfect. If you have the possibility to catch a cocktail at sunset and then eat at the bar I am very convinced you will have an exceptional experience. We were there for the Mexican menu, and it was the best I have ever eaten. Amazing barkeeper (Nathan) who does the best Margaritas. Coming back the second time after our first visit in June I can confirm this place does not disappoint. Worth the price.

Years ago, I had a wonderful stay at Villa Joya and a memorable dinners with my husband at the restaurant — truly exceptional. Recently, I visited the Beach Restaurant with my mother-in-law for just a glass of Prosecco. The staff were excellent — warm, attentive, and professional. However, we were surprised that nothing at all was served with the drink, despite the premium price (almost €20 per glass). No small snack, no olives — just an empty table. In such a prestigious place, this small detail felt out of place. A simple gesture would elevate the experience and match the otherwise impeccable standards.

Such a fantastic meal with an incredible view. The staff was so warm and welcoming, and we loved every moment of our leisurely three hour lunch.

The most picturesque restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. The food was great, especially the Crispy Squid. I’d skip the tenderloin and go for the pork though. There was a few items we tried ordering that they did not have which was disappointing. The servers were all lovely but they seemed to lack communication with one another. When we asked for the check from one server a different server came with the card machine before we got the check then he realized that we hadn’t even been given the check. I then asked him if I could leave a 10 percent tip but he added 20 percent instead. Considering the check was $262, the 10 percent difference was almost an extra $30. I was also charge $15 for water. We only had like 3 small glasses each of water. Finally, as an Irish man being referred to as someone from the UK rubs me the wrong way.

The food was fantastic – every starter and main course was excellent: oysters with avocado, figs with cheese, the fish soup – each dish was better than the last. What we truly regret and cannot understand, however, was the service. We were given only one menu for a table of four, which made choosing more time-consuming – and the waitress clearly wasn’t pleased that we hadn’t managed to decide on the main courses right away. When it came to dessert, we ordered chocolate mousse but were served chocolate cake. We pointed out that we had asked for mousse, but the waitress looked at the cake and said that it was mousse. Such service would be unacceptable even in a buffet, let alone in a place of this level. On the bill, it was also listed as chocolate cake. With the exception of one waiter, everyone served us as if they were forced to be there – this left a very bad impression. It’s a real pity, because the food itself was outstanding and truly unique in the area.

Food is great! Absolutely worth it. Restaurant is quite vanilla, no outstanding features and quite warm inside (outdoors would be even hotter as it was a lunch). Service is subpar for the pricing... Took quite a while to get the menu and order drinks (on a hot day you should just be offered water right away..). It's not that staff was rude or anything but the food and pricing deserved a bit better... Meal for 2. Marinated sardines starter, lemon rice, chilli cheesecake, bottle of wine, bottle of water, 2 coffees. Plenty of food (and then some!) as portions are very generous. €115. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Noélia Restaurant in Cabanas, Tavira is an absolute gem! The food is delicious, with fresh local ingredients and authentic flavors that truly capture the essence of the region. The seafood dishes are especially outstanding—perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We started with a tasty fish soup, then moved on to lemon rice with snapper and clams for the adults , smaller kids delighted with clams and older one got the fried cuttlefish slices. The staff are bit overwhelmed but try to be nice and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Had a nice casual lunch there for a party of 5. Later during our holidays, we have tried to book lunch for the whole family (12 people) but were told that we would have to be charged 60eur + drinks - couldn’t figure out what we would have been entitled to, but gently declined as it seemed to be excessive …

A very well known restaurant from an amazing Chef “NOÉLIA” . Central , great location in the south of Portugal this restaurant is one of the best in Portugal Products from the Algarve , fish and some of the best recepies I have ever tasted ! MUST VISIT and taste this amazing chefs MENU !!

It's great if a chef is ambitious, but one should never forget that elevated cuisine is not only about the food. The higher the level, the more the package counts – ambience of the place, food presentation, service. The food at Noelia is good, no question. The rest: not so. We went for lunch and were surrounded by thoroughly uninterested and uncoordinated staff. In the course of the meal we were served by at last 4 different people, with none showing any engagement. Overall the atmosphere was not relaxed – one can tell if staff in the kitchen (that one can largely see into) and waiting staff are relaxed, and here everyone seemed tense – the chef, Noélia Jerónimo, was in the kitchen. Not clear how she leads the crew, but the result was not nice. Next to us a couple with a baby was eating, and the floor showed it afterwards. Later the table was then freshly decked, and no one bothered to clean the floor – I would not have liked to be seated at that table. Service needs a major overhaul at Noélia. Overall a disappointing lunch. I don’t think we will return.

Not sure what all the hype is about l! Reminds me of Portuguese food that can be found in La-di-da areas in cities in North America or London. The food is often modernized: as in fused with other ‘creative’ 🤔 styles of cuisine. I’m not a fan. In these places prices are higher and often portions are slight. I’d pick a long standing well reputed ‘tasca’ over this offering. Full-marks for marketing though! .. and my company was 👌

I was so excited to visit but left feeling very disappointed. Service was slow and inattentive. We didn't even get water for 20 minutes. The wine I ordered wasn't available but no alternative was offered - just a tutting whilst I perused the list again, I ordered a second bottle and was brought the wrong wine (it was even the wrong colour!) I'd read that booking was necessary but that was not the case as endless parties turned up and were all accommodated. The starters were good - but no one told us to share! Mains were not as expected/described and were rather lack lustre, portions were big but without refinement. We've had better tuna and cod elsewhere. I obligingly moved my chair so that someone sat in full sun could find some shade - not a problem for me but should have been handled by the waiting staff who dismissed her request to move and offered no help or sympathy. Overall a let down, best thing was chatting with other diners about where else to eat!!!

Fantastic seafood spot! We booked in advance and it’s a good thing we did — the restaurant was packed, which already says a lot. Despite the busy atmosphere, the service was impressively fast and well-organized. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. The menu offers a wide variety of fresh seafood, with something for every taste. Each dish was beautifully prepared and full of authentic flavors. You can really tell they take pride in their food and service. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a great place to eat, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit — we left happy and full! 🙌

Great food and service, but a bit of a sensory nightmare so if you’re prone to being overwhelmed by sounds be warned. Our waiter was awesome, super friendly and helpful. We got the bean clams as an app which were laborious to eat but worth it. For the main we opted for the Cataplana as we had yet to try one while in the Algarves. Cataplana was more than enough food for two, with 3 types of fish, some clams and 2 shrimp. It had potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers and onions as well. We didn’t order a side with it and it’s good we didn’t because with the potatoes and bread they serve initially it’s more enough carbs. The bread itself came pre buttered and was probably my favourite bread I had in Portugal, super super soft and fluffy on the inside, crispy but in a thin light way on the outside. Soaked up the soup of the Cataplana and the sauce of the bean clams perfectly. Also they give you a plate of mayonnaise with the bread to start that is actually really really good (garlic and lemon aioli esque), was a bit skeptical but I could for real ear just the bread and mayo and be happy. When dipping in the sauces of clam and Cataplana also dip in some of the mayo after too for an insane bite.

We were 9 pers looking forward to a good dinner on April 25th. Several of us has been here before and were very satisfied. Unfortunately no one was satisfied this time. The shrimp cocktails were almost just lettuce and mayonnaise, Grilled fish was dry, lobster stew almost no lobster just small pieces one claw empty, fish stew too much macaroni and tasteless, pepper steak beaten out and too well done not medium little pepper taste, grilled plaice partly burnt. Hope it was a one-off incident otherwise something has happened to the restaurant.

This place was incredible! Super fresh seafood! Low-key vibe. And the best garlic mayo and bread I’ve ever tasted. Staff was friendly in this family restaurant.

This place serves amazing fresh seafood and has a great local vibe. There’s almost always a line out in front of the restaurant so make a reservation if you can. We went for the cataplana, a fish and seafood stew… the broth was fantastic, even if it had a little more fish than I’d usually go for (expected a bit more seafood). If I come back, I’ll go for the seafood platter for two or more people, which looked like the star of the menu and was super popular with other guests.

We went for it here. When we walked in and saw the lobster/crab tank we knew were going to eat well. We basically let out waiter feed us. Barnacles Sea snail Prawns Spiny lobster with Russian salad Some Superbach All was amazing.

Have been coming here since many years and never been disappointed. This time we unknowingly tried the grill red prawn and was very disappointed as it had hardly any meat and we paid a ridiculous price for just two prawns. 43 Euros 🙈🙈it’s a rip off. DO NOT TRY THIS AS ITS VERY EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORTH THE QUANTITY. Try the lobster and king prawns and you won’t be disappointed. Would still recommend and come back here for the rest of the food.

I had a dinner here on my last day in Portugal and it was the best meal I had in this holiday. Food here was incredible, especially octopus & bean stew and pig cheeks in red wine sauce were to die for! All the dishes were literally straight out from the kitchen and served piping hot. Staff are also very attentive and kind. Reasonably priced and I was shocked when I saw the bill. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

So attentive staff and great ambient. 2nd visit for Sangria. Its sangria is so generous We needed to ask for more ICE to delute. 200% recommendable. Keep that in mind when it is busy time Kitchen is quite slow and the servers make mistakes to deliver food to wrong tables. Please be patient with staff. They are all very lovely. The best Sangria in Faro. We had to visit every day for Sangria white for lunch red for dinner.

We had octopus with sweet potato puré, grilled fish with salad and massed cauliflower accompanied by suckling pig. The food was exceptionally amazing, the octopus was very well spiced and cooked to perfection. Easily the best octopus I have had. We ordered bread which wasn't fresh and olives which were bitter - would not recommended, unfortunately.

Supper attentive staff (even though the food took a while to arrive). We got a table even though we didn't have a reservation, but it's probably wise to call in advance as the place can be packed. Not on the cheap side, but it's super tasty.

Went last week. Note the opening times in google were never right. Also they moved to a more central location and will open on Tuesday I think. Food was great so was the service. Best to book and now it will be on the more busy area thing may change. Including opening times. One of the best tapas I had in faro.

We stumbled across this place when walking around Faro. It's tucked away in a corner so it's easy to miss. It was very busy when we arrived (always a good sign). My wife had pigs cheeks with sweet potato puree whilst I had octopus with cabbage sprouts rice. The meal was excellent. Dessert was rice pudding for me and my wife had a chocolate fondant cake with ice cream. Dessert was as good as the mains. We will definitely go back when we are in Faro.

A very beautiful vintage place with old-fashioned charm. The food is delicious; we tried almost everything on the daily menu. Unfortunately, we found the portions a little too small for the price. The service was good, but considering how many people work there, we often had to wait for someone to come and take our order. The atmosphere was good but rustic. We didn't find the music very fitting because it was more modern pop than traditional music. I would go back, but only on special occasions because it's not always affordable.

Excellent food. Our favourite was the spicy fish soup. Small open kitchen but we were serve promptly. Only con is they only take cash payments when we went.

The WORST place you can go for dinner. The food is neither good nor authentic, they claim to serve tapas but it’s rather a main dish in size of an appetizer. Food looks horrible and doesn’t taste good. Bread is served in a stinky little fabric bag. Plates are broken and dirty (disgusting!). Service is not good - took a very long time to order, another very long time to serve and a much longer time until someone came with the bill. Then, they tried to scam us. Put more dishes on the bill than we ordered, and just when they saw that we studied the bill - they said there was something weird about it but still wanted to know what exactly we ordered. They apologized and came back with a new (correct) bill, but when I paid, they didn’t give me back my change!!! Horrible place! Cannot recommend to anyone with tastebuds. We left still hungry. This place is overpriced and overrated.

The way to a mans heart goes through the stomach. They figured it out here. I stumbled upon this place, lying in a narrow street, playing top50 2010-2015 hits and asked for a table for one. There’s a daily menu that changes rapidly and there are options vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters. I ordered tuna, white fish and pig ears. Every dish excelled above any hopes and expectations that i had for this quiet lunch on a wednesday. Cooked to perfection and mixed beautifully with toppings, that hit just right. Thank you for a beautiful experience.

What a night. I stumbled into Faro’s annual summer party in the alleyway and this restaurant was smack in the middle of it. The atmosphere, music, dancing, and energy was incredible. The service was good, they had a special menu for the event. I went specifically for their original menu so was a bit thrown by that, and didn’t love the dishes I got. I was confused by the sopa’s flavor and the mushroom dish was really a giant soaked piece of bread. But that’s my fault for not knowing Portuguese. Shrimp was good & dessert (goat cheese with honey & crushed almonds & chocolate cake with a caramel glaze) had a lot of flavor. The event made up for it & would go back to try their normal menu.

Spicy fish soup and the goat cheese was really good. Great wine! The service was ok and they don’t accept card payments which is annoying!

My daughter and myself ordered the monk fish cataplana and I have to say it was amazing so much food as well for 2 people and all though it sounds expensive when you see what you get it would cost double for the same meal in the uk. Authentic Portuguese food with excellent service. I come here for dinner every time I’m in Faro - have been three times already and was never disappointed. I adore the arroz de marisco (seafood rice). House wine is great too. I dream of this place and their food! I’m looking forward to come back here and can recommend it to everyone. 10/10. Price for arroz de marisco in April 2025: 40€ for two people.

We had a great meal here. We all had fresh fish and the white wine that was recommended was also very good. They were able to do a lot of items gluten free which was great.

Decided to eat here given positive reviews that I read. We were not disappointed. We had croquettes for starter which was ham and cheese. These were like sausage meat and cheese coated in bread crumbs. They were very tasty. It was served with some dijon mustard. It was cooked to perfection. We had the grilled Seabream. It was served with garlic flavoured rice. steamed cabbage, broccoli and carrots. It came with boiled potatoes. It was absolutely delicious. Definitely gets 5 stars. It was very good value for money. The croquettes were €4 for starters, €17 for sea cream. €8.50 for litre of house white wine. I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves wholesome food cooked and seasoned to perfection. 5 stars all round.

The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Recommended. We went two nights in a row.

They welcomed a group of 11 people with open arms. They were absolutely amazing in their services, in the their food and the atmosphere. The owner Kevin is very lovely and funny and our host/waiter she is an absolutely legend. We received a set menu and it felt like an endless parade of food. One better than the other. Oyster mushroom, lions mane, burrata, grilled tuna, and all the deserts were one the many favorites. One friend even gave a standing ovation, just of how impressed he was. Can’t recommend them enough, and a place to take your friends to impress.

The sea bass was delicious, the wine was great and the service was benevolent. There were two small drawbacks though; the outside seating area is pretty much directly in the walkway, and the lunch was quite expensive in my eyes because of that. Besides that 100% a recommendation, and will definitely come back in the future.

Lovely little restaurant with such a great atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious 😋 I had trouble choosing as there were so many options. I also liked that there were many gluten-free and vegan dishes. The standout dish for me was the lion's mane - wow, wow, wow! Probably the most memorable of the holiday. I'd go back just for that 😊 Be sure to book ahead so you're not disappointed. I highly recommend this little gem.

Get here on the dot for lunch, most likely same for dinner. The food was amazing from main to dessert, full of depth, amazing blends of spices and just a surprise combination of Portuguese ingredients within new recipes. Staff is really welcoming, ambiance is charming and you really feel sad when the meal is over. Don't miss it!

I came here for the first time during covid, in 2021, and have been coming every year since then! One of the best restaurants in Portugal. Everything is fresh and seasonal. Book early as place is nice. Small intimate and very busy so book in advance. We were lucky to get a table ad hoc by calling the restaurant. The place is very cozy, the owners are extremely friendly and will make you feel very comfortable enjoying the delicious food served. Lovely little restaurant. Service was a little slow as it was busy but that gave us time to savour the ambiance. Food was delicious especially the starters and main courses. Desserts were okay. It would be good to have a vegetarian main course on menu so we can bring our daughter next time! We will come again .

Small place with a small but very personal menu, the owners took their time to explain the dishes and the story behind it. Starters won us over, had to order extra as it sounded too good to pass and we weren’t disappointed. A little over priced as the mains and deserts weren’t that special. Fabulous restaurant with beautiful view. The staff have been amazing! The food was a little bit expensive but understandable given it is the only restaurant on the island. We would definitely come back if we visit Faro again.

Overall, the experience was good because the location is unique and the boat trip makes it more fun. The restaurant is very well integrated into the island’s natural surroundings and is architecturally very beautiful. The staff was very kind and attentive. We expected high prices given the exclusivity of the location, but honestly, we also expected the culinary experience to be at the same level, and it was a bit disappointing considering the cost. Reservations are required.

Visited twice while in Portugal to celebrate my 60th birthday. 2nd time we were 30 minutes late for our reservation for 6 people which they’d have had every right to let go of especially as it was busy but they had kept it for us. (We did let them know but they were too busy to respond). The staff were very friendly and willing to go the extra mile for us. You need to arrive by boat as it’s an island so book a ferry or shuttle. It’s not cheap but worth every penny/cent. It’s totally self contained so very sustainable. The food was simple but high quality fresh ingredients prepared by chefs who know what they’re doing with flavours!! The red sangria is highly recommended! It is the kind of restaurant we will go back to again and again. Highly recommended!!

Despite it's appearance from the outside, and the pricey menu with upmarket food, the interior is a bit of a disappointment. The tables and chairs look more like motorway service station issue, and the tables are poorly set out (if at all). The staff serving were both good and very friendly, so the experience as a whole was quite pleasant.

Almost like a James Bond film when there's an a unexpected structure in the middle of nowhere...that's how it felt walking up to this restaurant on a deserted island! Attentive wairstaff, great food with a nice variety of dishes to choose from and the views are unbeatable. I had the fish soup and bread. Very good and recommend if you are looking for something light before your hike. Other tables with larger groups had fish and table service brings it out to debone.

Absolutely fantastic ambiance. We had the luck to go to there on a beautifully sunny day in autumn and loved the sheer beauty of looking out of the windows onto the lovey island of Ilha Deserta. A short drive from Loule, this classy restaurant is well situated on a hill with a good view of the coast. The food here is excellent, well presented and cooked with flair and finesse.Service is polite, professional and attentive. The lunch menu offers excellent value with 2 courses for around 30 Euros. The wine list is surprisingly limited for a premium restaurant, but is fairly priced.

Henrique Leis is a wonderful classic French restaurant. When you enter, it feels like coming home. A pleasant atmosphere, very well cared for, but not over the top as in some other Michelin Star restaurants. Understated luxury. The staff is very friendly and helpful, without being slavish. The 10 tables are arranged in such a way that everyone has their privacy. And for the summer there is a beautiful terrace. In addition to the lunch menu, there is an extensive dinner menu. The starters are quite expensive, starting at 25 euros. For the main courses you can choose fish (38 -57 euros), meat (38 euros) and vegan (20 euros). Dessert costs around 15 euros. The 8-course tasting menu costs 96 euros and, if reserved a few days in advance , is also available as a vegan variant. The wine list is very extensive, with prices ranging from 60 to 6000 euros per bottle. We chose the cheapest, and it was delicious. The other ones can't be much better, haha.. We start with a beautiful basket of bread, a regular version, and a gluten-free version. Then 4 beautiful amuses, fantastic taste! As a starter we have a colorful, but simple salad. You would expect better at this level. As main course we chose the mushroom risotto. Highly recommended! Even in Italy we didn't often eat such a delicious, strong risotto. The dessert not only looked fantastic, it also tasted great! Definitely a restaurant to go to more often!

Compliments to everyone at Henrique Leis for the outstanding food tonight: Foie gras, escargots, lamb, lobster, chocolate medley dessert and apple Charlotte dessert. The Amuse bouches and sorbet were also amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. Every morcel of food was delicious from start to finish …. presented with flare and layers of flavour. We will be back!

Another wonderful lunch at Henrique Leis in Loule. Great place for a leisurely meal. Presentation perfect, top quality food cooked and seasoned to perfection and friendly, yet elegant service. Dinner is pricy but the executive lunch is a bargain. I am are sure the dinners are well worth the money.

A most pleasant establishment, set in a fine location with a charming atmosphere. The garden is indeed delightful, though I rather doubt it serves as a true source of ingredients for the kitchen, for reasons both practical and evident. The menu is curated with a sense of particularity—an appeal, perhaps, not destined for all tastes—especially given the portions, which are of an exceedingly modest size. The service is commendable and carried out with grace. The meat dishes, I must say, are of excellent quality and most satisfying. The seafood, however, though fresh, presents itself with a simplicity that does not entirely befit a house of such standing—oysters being the noble exception. The wine selection is worthy of praise, though the cocktails, alas, fall short of expectation. Yet, all in all, I remain glad to have made the visit. With the favour of fair weather and every other happy circumstance, the experience proved most agreeable.

You can even visit the garden before dinner, so it’s worth arriving about 10 minutes early. Austa is an absolute must-visit when traveling the Algarve! This restaurant was honestly the highlight of my five-day solo trip. I really value thoughtfulness, quality ingredients and a warm, welcoming atmosphere when dining out. Austa ticked every single box. When I arrived the staff made me feel genuinely welcome and cared for even though I came alone. The ambiance, the beautiful interior design and the garden that surrounds the restaurant make a very unique experience. Before your reservation you’re even invited to take a walk through the garden (to see where the ingredients come from before they show up on your plate is such a special touch). The food itself was incredible! Full of flavor, beautifully balanced and with combinations you don’t often find elsewhere. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every dish. + I really loved the music they played there! If you’re in the Algarve book a table! And definitely come back for breakfast!

One of, if not the best, contemporary dining spots we’ve ever been to. The seasonal menu was beautifully thought out, celebrating local producers and bringing the best of the Algarve to the table. Every dish was explained with a smile and prepared with so much care. Everything tasted effortless and perfectly balanced. They had us from the start with the best sourdough and delicious homemade butter, and it only got better from there. I don’t usually eat pork, but this place made me, and honestly, I’d order it again. The interiors are gorgeous, every detail feels intentional. We travel a lot and eat out often, and this place is easily in our top five. We’re coming back in December to try the breakfast menu - no doubt it’ll be mind-blowing. Thank you so much for making our trip to Portugal special!

The meal at Austa was truly spectacular – food to die for, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The setting is stunning, creating the perfect atmosphere for a special evening. Service was attentive, warm, and professional from start to finish. Without question, this was the best meal we’ve had in the Algarve. A must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Amazing and surprising lunch dishes. We had the toastie with chorizo and bolo with beef prego, both which were to die for. Coffee was good too and a surprisingly fresh drink was the olive oil lemonade. Subtle but renewing. Next to the restaurant they have a nice herbs and vegetable garden which you can stroll through. Lovely atmosphere and we'd recommend it to anyone that's in the neigbourhood.

This is an experience to truly understand and involve yourself in the tastes of Algarve. It's intimate and immersive and like going to a friend's home -- if that friend is a prestige Portuguese chef. The space is cozy, and a bit rustic which is the perfect atmosphere for the dishes that Rui presents, which were all impeccably inspired by his life in Portugal, and especially the surrounding landscapes. Sea, mountain, forest. It's all represented. I've been to a handful of restaurants like this, and this is one of the only ones I would gladly return to. So many of the dishes were perfect! Amazing blends of flavours and textures in cohesive little plates. I especially enjoyed all the fish, and that's not normally something I say. And finally some creative Portuguese desserts! It can be done, and Loki proves it. And the art on the walls was a neat bonus too! I really liked it.

World class chef serves first rate food! This restaurant should have a Michelin star! Every aspect of the dinner was out of this world, from presentation to quality of food. Nothing but a spectacular experience.

What a magical restaurant and it’s chef João :) I’m sorry if I didn’t spell the name right. We had an amazing dinner here . From beginning to an end it was hard to decide which dish was better - they were all so original and delicious. We opted for wine pairing and glad we did - gastronomic discovery! . It was a great luck of my partner that find this place in January 2022 reading a magazine of Algarve luxury life!!!. Please book in advance because this guy is booked months in advance. Luckily we’ve found this little hidden gem during our Journey - and even luckier we had the chance to get a table. We had a remarkable evening with a surprising and deliciously creative haute cuisine dinner that was enriched by João with his hospitality and personality even more. Strong recommendation for any food lover that wants to get in touch with an authentic interpretation of the chef of what Algarve (Portimão/Monichque region) tastes like. All the best for João and his concept of Loki - we will definitely come back.

Loved the octopus dish, gallician style. The cocktails were also very good and overall we loved the place. Only downside, our table was infested with ants, which is really unacceptable, hence the 4 stars. Thank you.

This restaurant deserves a michelin star rating, they serve the most delicious food with professional staff and great music. I love the composition of their menu. I appreciate it. We ordered squid which had the best design and was so tasty. Plus the stake on the mixture of pumkin potato and rice! Such a brilliant recipe ♥️ they’re so hospitable that gave us one free shot of portuguese drink.

Great selection of classic and inventive/fun cocktails to choose from. A great location close to the water, on the main square of Faro sea front. This was our second visit over the last few years (as tourists) and has been a consistently high quality and quick service and drinks.

The food and the bar was top glass I enjoyed my lunch. People here was amazing. The waiters where really nice had a good conversation. The sun was hitting this spot really well. I had a great time

My parents, my husband and I visited this Michelin-starred restaurant on May 23rd, 2025. We booked about 2 months before our visit. Absolutely amazing in all aspects! It's my first michelin restaurant which offered a kitchen and wine cellar tour, and even allowed taking photos there! It was a very very cool experience! Now, foods.. delicious and each dish was like an art! I was so impressed by the chef's attention to details not just for presentation but for preparation of each ingredient. I was told by our server that he calculated what's the most optimal time for each ingredient to have got harvested till they're being served on the plate going through chef's touches like marination or seasoning, and I was totally able to feel and taste all of those! If I ever get to be back in Algarve, definitely I'd love to try it again! p.s. The bartender, Patricia, she's one of the best bartenders that my husband and I have every met! All of her cocktails are just perfection in terms of taste, temperature, and creativity.

Absolutely deserves it status at a top restaurant. Had a taster menu and it was delicious from start to finish. I’ve chosen not to post all courses so save the surprises but my stand outs were the squid dish which is probably in my top five dishes of all time. And also the orange tree. Service and the experience was impeccable. Deserves the star. Would go again.

Michelin-star rated gastronomic experience in a sumptuously detailed 100 year-old mansion carefully updated to modern 5-star standards. Destination dining.

Wow! What a unique and amazing dining experience at Vista! The dinner is a fixed menu (€200 each) lasting 4+ hours so I suggest the 1900h start time. The cadence is good but it could have been a bit shorter overall. We left full (and a bit tipsy) so plan ahead. Getting there you need to drive into a pedestrian street and the instructions for how to get thru the barrier were unclear. We finally arrived and entering the gates and valet parking were easy. The dinner begins with a kitchen and wine cellar tour and small unique snacks at the chef's table. I won’t spoil the meal details and I’m sure they change frequently but overall it was an amazing example of local ingredients, a perfect blend of flavors (only a couple plates missed the mark slightly) and originality. Mostly fish and seafood and vegetarian - no poultry or beef. Nice light sauces. We did the wine pairing and every wine was good but this was overpriced and a bit too much wine for us so I might choose the half pairing or a single bottle next time. The service was over the top amazing and more like a play or dance the way they worked together as a part of the meal itself. Overall would highly recommend this if you want a (expensive but) truly unique and memorable evening in the Algarve.

Great one star Michelin star restaurant. They have had it since 2018. The restaurant and space is beautiful and very well decorated. I really enjoyed that they give you a tour around the kitchen when you come in. All the ingredients were truly fresh and very tasty. We liked all dishes (9 of them). I would definitely recommend it and come back. The menu we had was 175€ per person plus 95€ per person if you want the wine pairing with every dish (we didn’t). They also have one table for two people if you want to dine in the kitchen. We were a larger group so we couldn’t but it sounded really great.

Absolutely enjoyed what Chef João Oliveira had prepared for us at Vista at the Bela Vista Hotel & Spa. The meal featured a landing area where you can enjoy some light drinks while waiting to have a quick tour of the kitchen and cellar. At the kitchen tour, we actually meet Chef Oliveira and his staff whilst they prepare for the evening. After the tour, it was a teaser at the Chef’s table to kick everything off. And what followed was memories and history pleasantly burned into my brain. Menu features all fresh ingredients from all over Portugal, particularly the Algarve. Wine list offers a majority of Portuguese wines and other countries. All in all a Michelin Star well deserved and highly recommend and will likely revisit when/if I am in the area again! Thanks Chef Oliveira and the staff for a great and perfect evening!

5/5 Wow wow wow Absolutely beautiful restaurant and food, portion sizes bang on one of the best curry’s I’ve ever had. Slightly on the pricier side compared to other local restaurants however the quality is unreal and worth the extra cost! It’s a must visit and would 100% go back. Only minus point was the popadoms tasted old but cannot knock the rest of it at all.

We went there based on the Google reviews. After today’s visit I have to write my own. I also shared all of this directly with the staff at the restaurant. The first impression was very good — pleasant service, quick attention and a nice environment. The starter the Pyro Prawn was excellent. Then came a huge disappointment with the grilled platter. Visually, it was perfect — truly impressive. But all the different types of meat tasted exactly the same. Completely dried out, flavourless, bland, not salty, not fatty — almost as if it had been coloured with food dye and marinated for maybe 30 minutes, if at all. There was no taste of any typical spices. It was basically just a big pile of meat. The sauces also felt unfinished. In the end, it felt like a complete waste of money. After the meal I felt heavy and bloated. I wouldn’t want to come back again.

Really enjoyed our experience. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic we really enjoyed! The owner is a very nice man who greets you with a wave when you walk by. I’d highly recommend this place. Properly family ran good pricing and great food.

We have been in Nepal in 2018. We found the food in this restaurant is genuine Nepalese taste. A bit spicy though so choose the right degree of spicy.

Service was wonderful and friendly. Food was delicious. We had onion bhajis and paneer in a sweet and sour sauce for starters. The bhajis were particularly delicious. We then had a lamb curry and a garlic chilli chicken curry with garlic naan. Both were extremely tasty!

Absolutely loved the food here, so much so we went back again the next night. Absolutely gorgeous and great vegetarian options. Service was friendly and super helpful. Highly recommend this place. We've eaten curries at various places across Portugal and this so far is clearly the best we've had.

We went to Gurkha last week while on a family trip to Carvoeiro. It was a great decision! The food was delicious (we got rice, garlic naan, butter chicken, and chicken tikka). The waiter was also very kind and attentive. The mango lassi is a strong recommendation, as it was amazing and refreshing. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!

This place is very entertaining and a wonderful location off the beach of our hotel where they show video of fish swimming projected on a beach stone wall, display their fresh catch of the day and take your order quickly. However, you must be patient because there is only one grill master who prepares each individual plate and took our meal almost 50 minutes before it was delivered to our table. I had the Seabass and my wife had a grouper, but truly it was delicious and we give it two thumbs up. Unfortunately, when the bill came, there was a harsh misunderstanding that the amount on the menu shows each individual fish priced per gram for example ours was 9.50 per gram which totaled to $48 per fish so when we got the bill it was 5 times more than what we thought. Be careful and ask questions on how they will bill you.

I found this place from google maps so made a reservation a month in advance. The view is spectacular! Location 10/10. I can see how some of the reviews are mixed , for us we had a lovely meal. Loved how the “catch of the day” was on a platter to view before being cooked. However the pricing and menu was hard to understand, everything in €/ kgs but unsure to what you were paying for afterwards. It’s not a cheap meal and some would say it not worth it. Our fish cooked perfect . Not a great portion size but happy all the same. The house rose was delicious. Every table was booked and some staff a little slow . Would come again for sure. €170 for 3 meals and 6 drinks .

Rating this as a 3 star, but this could be due to the time of year (late August). When we visited the shore was filled with seaweed so the view wasn’t great. Due to all of the seaweed there was also an absurd amount of flies and sand flees. When our food arrived we were swatting away flies like crazy, but this could be an anomaly and not common for this restaurant so take that with a grain of salt. Our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable. He was extremely attentive and really loved to explain the different fish and choices at the restaurant. I thought the food was ok, but not for the price. The arroz de marisco was good. The black spaghetti and rock fish were very mediocre and had no flavour. For the price, I would not return.

Absolutely outstanding!! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing view! By far, the best meal I had on my holiday. I chose from a selection of the fish that had been caught that day and had the sea bream. For such a simple dish, it tasted so fresh and flavourful, the vegetables were beautifully cooked and somehow even the salt was delicious and added a depth of flavour to the dish (I think it was some kind of rock salt from Tavira). I also had the pistachio dessert which was pistachio cream and wafers encased in pistachio chocolate which was a sublime way to round off the meal - it was decadent but also lovely and light! The staff were also so lovely, attentive and knowledgeable! If I had stayed nearer the area, I would have eaten there every day! It's such a shame this place doesn't have a higher star rating on Google reviews - I think it must be old management or old reviews skewing the score but honestly, you won't regret dining here - it was such a wonderful and gastronomically pleasurable experience! I highly recommend!

We had the greatest time at Caniço! Starting the review with a HUGE SHOUTOUT to our new friend Francisco. We had just gotten engaged, and even though he appeared to be the busiest man in the restaurant, he still took the time to make sure our experience was special. He was the star of the night making sure we were seated at an absolutely incredible table, and everything was on-point from the service to the food and wine to the incredible views. This will be a dinner we will never forget, and the staff at Caniço were the ones to make it happen. We will absolutely be returning every time we are in the Algarve.

But unfortunately, once you sit down, the experience quickly unravels into a frustrating, overpriced disappointment that relies entirely on its location to justify its existence. From the start, the service was a mess. We had to wait far too long to be seated, and that slow pace continued throughout the evening. Staff were inattentive, disorganized, and communication was difficult. When we finally managed to place an order, it felt like a gamble whether we’d actually get what we asked for. My partner received her glass of cava within minutes; mine arrived over fifteen minutes later, without apology and barely chilled. The food itself was, frankly, well below standard. As a starter, I ordered the tuna. The quality was poor, and the fish had been so aggressively seasoned that any natural flavour was completely lost. All that remained was the texture—bland, chewy, and overpowered by herbs that seemed intended to cover up how mediocre the tuna really was. For the main course, I had mussels. Sadly, they were no better. The mussels were tough, lacked any real taste, and were served in a barely warm, watery broth that failed to bring the dish together. The preparation felt careless, and the ingredients certainly didn’t taste fresh. It was one of those meals where you keep eating, hoping it will get better—it never did. What’s most frustrating is the sense that Caniço is focused more on squeezing as much money as possible out of tourists than on delivering a quality dining experience. The staff had little to no knowledge about the food or the wine, and everything—from the delayed service to the bland dishes—felt like an afterthought. The only thing worth mentioning in a positive light is the view. The setting is genuinely spectacular, with waves crashing below and a sunset that makes the whole place glow. If you’re after a drink with a view and don’t mind poor service, it might be worth stopping by. But if you’re coming for the food? Don’t bother. Final Verdict: A beautiful location wasted on subpar food and chaotic service. Caniço is a textbook example of style over substance. Come for the view, then eat somewhere else.

This was an absolute gem of a restaurant, so much so we visited twice in 5 days! The food is absolutely delicious, traditional Portuguese dishes. We absolutely loved the boar cheeks, fresh fish & the chickpea and sausage stew. In addition the desserts were really good and the starters too. Great staff, nothing was a problem happy to change dishes when we wanted to and very attentive, but not over the top. WARNING - Arrive early to get a good spot, particularly if you want a beautiful outdoor view over the mountains & be aware the portions are really big, most dishes are easily sharing size!! Not somewhere to be missed when you're in the area! Thanks so much for some amazing food, that'll remind us of Portugal for years to come.

Great restaurant in the hills of Monchique. This was worth the trip. We had pork cheek and lamb stew. Generous portions, we would’ve had enough of one meal for both of us to share. Make sure to sit on the patio as the view is breathtaking. We went for a late lunch without a reservation and it wasn’t very busy. Parking lot across the street.

Sad restaurant! Grumpy staff, average food. Don't waste your time here. We booked ahead. Arrived and wanted to change tables to have a better view. It was 6pm and we were early, so plenty of free tables. We got moved with attitude. Order taken last. Mains served without clearing starter plates. To this restaurant: you were horrible to two british tourists that will never recommend your place. And to our waitress, the round youngish lady - smile! It's free ;)

While highly recommended, the place is a bit of hit and miss. The service levels are good but the ambience is quite clustered with seats very close to each other and the overall ambience not the best. The food as I can describe is rustic as the prawns and ox tail we ordered had pieces which were perfectly cooked and pieces which were under done. We still enjoyed the food and would say it's worth visiting if you are taking a trip to monchique.

Parilla was an exceptional experience, from the lovely and attentive staff to the remarkable couvert, starters, mains, and sides. Everything they do feels thoughtful and considered. The restaurant is set in a beautiful location, which only adds to the experience. It was, without a doubt, the best meal we had all week.

What an incredible evening at Parrilla Natural! I called before & spoke to the manager who was hugely helpful in dealing with our personal requests. The evening flowed with exceptional flawless service from start to finish. We were all pleased with our food & especially the multiple side dishes; we over ordered but just didn’t care enough to stop, we were on a roll. Great evening, thank you Parrilla Natural & we can’t wait to return.

Parilla Natural is a truly special dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the scenery set the tone — the beautiful setting with a tree right in the middle of the restaurant creates a unique and natural atmosphere. The staff were outstanding: professional, attentive, and genuinely pleasant, making us feel very welcome throughout the evening. The food was simply amazing. My boyfriend and I shared a perfectly cooked steak, which was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We paired it with two different kinds of potato sides, each delicious in its own way. To top it off, I had a cocktail that was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had — balanced, refreshing, and crafted with care. For dessert, I ordered the Dubai Entremet and my boyfriend had the brownie. Neither was just a “simple cake” — both were beautifully made, rich in flavor, and absolutely delicious, the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Overall, Parilla Natural is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience. With its stunning setting, fantastic service, and excellent food and drinks, it’s a place I would wholeheartedly recommend and can’t wait to return to.

You have to pay 7,50€ to share plates. Never saw this in Portugal and I am Portuguese. I am certain that this measure is to steal from the tourists. Beef is bad. Not worth the money. You can get a better beef for 1/3 the price here in Portugal. Choose other restaurant!

Disappointed with recent visit. The scallops were overcooked and I feel there was far too much mousseline on the plate that they were lost to it. For main course the fillet steak was not of the quality I’d expect for the prices charged and the accompanying vegetables were extremely bland. Other restaurants in the area are far better value for much tastier / higher quality food.

The place is perfect for a romantic dine in. The ambiance makes it a perfect place to have a great time. We went in the evening which made it even worthwhile with their lights and beautiful environment. The service is great, from front staff to the servers. Would highly recommend this place.

We visited this restaurant for supper during our trip to Sagrès in March 2025. It was recommended to us by the host of our AirBnB in town. The menu was varied, the food was good, fresh and tasty, the portions were generous, the service was speedy, the atmosphere was nice. We ordered the fish soup, the mackerel salad, the crab entree, the tuna steak and the beef steak, all good choices. (Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of everything.) The red house wine was delicious as well. We were so full we had no room for dessert! But what truly set this restaurant apart was the welcome we received from both of the owners (brothers, I believe). They were friendly and warm and truly went out of their way to ensure we were happy and fully satisfied with our meal. As a result, we highly recommend this establishment, and would definitely go back if we visit Sagres again. Thank you for a most enjoyable dinner!!

Awesome find if you’re ever in Sagres! This hidden gem has dishes bursting with flavor! The fish was perfect, the shrimp (chef style) were out of this world!!!!! The picture with the empty dishes tells you enough! 🫠 The menu isn’t very big but the selection is just right 👌🏼

The restaurant on the outskirts, however with fresh food, delicious cuisine and nice service. The portions are big and served in a beautiful way. Highly recommended! We were just after the opening and the food was shortly ready the salomon, swordfish, squid and goose barnacles! Well done!

Walked from the fort for lunch. IT IS WORTH THE WALK! Service was attentive and delightful. Took the recommendation to have the Stone Bass - it was phenomenal. All dishes were accompanied by Algarve Salad and boiled potatoes- don’t let the “boiled” fool you, they are so much more. Cannot recommend enough.

Everything was perfect! Highly recommended. We made reservations for lunch on a Wednesday. Glad we did. It was very busy. Excellent Sea Bass for my husband. And veggie soup along with algarvian salad for me. Prices were very reasonable. And quality of food was fantastic. Service was impressive. The best part of our entire dining experience was the kind beautiful smile and expert service by the young woman with beautiful black braids. Her name may have been Erika (she’s expecting also). What a gem of an employee and definitely an asset to this restaurant. All in all a great lunch at a traditional Sagres family restaurant!!

Fabulous mixed grilled fish plate, accompanied by a wonderful tomato salad, a warm starch and sweet potatoes. We had tuna bellies (delicious!), salmon, mackerel, dorado, and sea bream. We were so full at the end! Great food and service.

It comes with a simple but tasty tomato salad, boiled potatoes, and a flavorful mix of bread, garlic, and coriander. Everything was really good and super fresh. Just keep in mind: you can’t make a reservation, so make sure to get there right when they open — it fills up fast!

Warm customer service and they can speak multiple languages for those who are from outside Portugal (Spanish, English & French). Great variety of seafood (Sardine, mackerel, sea bass & baby squid etc.) and drinks. Amazing value for money I can’t recommend it enough.

You pays your money and you don't take your choice, they just bring you fish until you tell them to stop! Delicious. Get there on the dot of 7 because it fills up fast...

A meal for two. Excellent service throughout, from adequate waiting time with a drink in hand, to being seated at a table with attentive waiting staff. A reassuring portion of seafood that keeps getting delivered to your table until you have had your fill. Grilled fish and calamari that had been salt rubbed and grilled to flavourful perfection - sliding off bone with ease. Good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers. Recommended.

This place was fantastic. We ate here on a Tuesday afternoon. We where greeted warmly, ordered some drinks and were presented with the most freshly grilled fish until we had to say we were more than full. Lovely place. Lovely people. Totally recommend.

Let me start by saying that both the chicken and the fish were really delicious. However, there are a few things worth mentioning: 1. We waited literally one hour to get our food. 2. We ordered chicken with piri-piri and without, but they served everything mixed on one big plate, so we couldn’t tell which was which. 3. Although we were five people, we got the same portion of fries as the table with only two people. 4. The chicken pieces were very small, understandable given the cheap prices, but still worth noting. The chicken plate you see in the picture is actually one and a half portions. 5. The fish shown in the picture is one portion. Very small. 6. The menu said the meal included dessert, but the waiter told us they had stopped serving it. Not a big deal, just thought I’d mention it, maybe it’s better to remove it from the menu to avoid confusion. Despite all this, when it came time to pay, we were charged for three chicken portions instead of one and a half, even though we had questioned the size earlier when it arrived. The waiter insisted we ordered three. Overall, don’t be fooled by the low prices — the portions are quite small. Still, the food itself was really tasty. Next time, we’ll just make sure to order two portions per person.

This place was packed for lunch. They grill right there on the sidewalk. Seating is behind under a tent. Lunch special can’t be beat. $10 includes bread, salad, olives, half of chicken, rice, french fries, and fruit.

We eat here as the queue was constant and full of locals so we waited and waited....for the food. Not an issue if it's top notch. It was fine cheap and cheerful and is a simple grill place but no idea why it's so popular - must be just on price

We really enjoyed having dinner at this restaurant. We had sea bream, chicken, salad, potatoes, french fries, and dessert. Everything was so delicious!

The grilled dishes are amazing and affordable at euro 8.50. A bottle of 1.5L water costs euro 1.00. All meal comes with salad, bread, olives and a small fruit plate for dessert. The service can be slow as the place is packed with local customers. But you can’t be fast when being in Portugal. Just take your time and enjoy a beer instead.

Very disappointing experience. Meat was left too long on the grill and came out dry. Fries were poorly fried and without care. Service inattentive, only cleared the table after being asked, and we had to order some things up to three times. Overall, it feels like a place made only for tourists – without love, without passion, and as if nobody really cares. Will not recommend or come back!

**Review based on the visit to Portugal in Dec 2018*** What a find!! We visited the Silves Castle and was looking for a lunch spot. We just accidentally stumbled into this place. I saw a huge smoking BBQ loaded with chicken close to the sidewalk, lots of tables spilling out to the sidewalk from the restaurant and a lot of locals sitting shoulder to shoulder having a meal!! What more can you ask for to know that this can't go wrong!! We got a table in few minutes and then the food arrived. First it was bread, olives and a mix of carrot and bell pepper drizzled with olive oil.. then in a little while came 2 plates of tomato, onion and lettuce salad with a lovely dressing.. Then came the fries and finally, 2 full plates of mouth watering, piri piri chicken!! Wow !! What a treat.. my son and I finished almost 80% of the chicken as my wife and daughter enjoyed the rest:).. The chicken was very nicely done and dabbed with piri piri sauce which gives a very nice taste. The owner came to me and gave me 2 more sauce bottles with one having 3 chilli spiciness and the other having 5 !! YES I did try the 5 chilli and it WAS spicy even for my standards !! When they saw me try this it really brought a wide smile to their faces !! The atmosphere was amazing, sitting next to locals and having a Portuguese meal!! We finished all the food and then more food came in the form of fruits and a piece of almond cake.. That is it!! I couldn't eat anything else as I was soooooooo full!!! Off to the next destination ... Albufeira....

A Ria is a must if you are in Ferragudo. We had dinner here twice in 1 week and each time the food was fantastic. My husband and I shared the Swordfish, Prawn and Rice dish and it was mouth watering good. The next time I had the baked polvo and my husband the grilled fish - it did not disappoint. Book a table as it gets full very quickly. The almon, fig and carob tart is delicious.

We had a beautiful meal in A Ria, situated right in the centre of Ferragudo with a stunning view. We had the Cataplana and it was 10/10. The staff are lovely and hardworking. Highly recommend, we’ll be back 🙌🏼

We had a lovely lunch here after our morning trip to Portimao Marina. Our servers were amazing & so personable! The gentleman in particular was very friendly & ensured we were well taken care of! The food was delicious! Our server recommended the cuttlefish dish for my husband & he really enjoyed it! It was such a lovely meal to wrap up our final day in Portugal! Definitely will come back here if we ever revisit the Algarve region!

This restaurant is a family favourite, especially when we fancy some delicious BBQ fish!! They always have a great selection of fish on offer, but get in earlier for a better choice. The staff are really friendly and always treat us well - very well humoured! Always certain to visit here when we are over, definitely recommend. Edit: July 2021 & June 2024 & September 2025 - still an excellent restaurant which has consistently delivered great meals to me and my family over the years. We really do have a great time at this restaurant.

We have been visiting Ferragudo for the last 5 years but never visited A Ria despite it being recommended by many. We were so glad we came - we shared the monkfish and prawn rice which was delicious. We saw people order the fillet steak and tiger prawn which looked incredible. Very reasonable. We shared a starter, then had the monkfish rice, bottle of wine and water. Total 70euros. We sat inside and it was very hot. It must be boiling in the summer. Busy restaurant so although we walked in this was October. You would definitely have to book in peak season. Service was a bit frosty to begin with but warmed up!

Our experience at A Ria was second to none. Truly, one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. From the minute we walked in I knew we had found someplace special. Antonio, our server, was amazing. The food is impeccable and the best meal we had during our trip. My wife and I had the rice with monkfish and prawns, and it is a don’t miss. Our friend had the penne and prawns, au gratin, and he didn’t even offer us a bite, as he devoured it. Lynn was the consummate host. I cannot recommend A Ria more highly. If you are in the area, you need to put it at the top of your dining list.

I had an incredible experience at this Portuguese restaurant. I ordered the Cataplana and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The dessert was just as impressive and a great way to finish the meal. What stood out even more was the service. The owner was extremely attentive, welcoming, and genuinely talkative in the best way. Even though I was dining alone, he made me feel like I was visiting as a family guest rather than just a customer. That personal touch made the whole evening memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Absolutely amazing spot. The francesinha was fantastic — flavorful, generous, and served with an amazing sauce. Polvo was delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of taste. The atmosphere is incredible: warm, inviting, and with a relaxed vibe that really elevates the experience. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and make you feel at home from the moment you walk in. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Faro and looking for a great dining experience!

I went alone to have dinner, but I couldn't feel more welcomed! The owner made sure everything was fine and the food was amazing. I had cheese as starter and cataplana as main dish. The soup of the cataplana was the best! Totally recommended! I would come back to try new portuguese dishes!

The food was alright but I expected better quality for the higher price compared to other restaurants. Some pieces of the grilled octopus was extremely chewy and the sauce seemed to be garlic cooked in oil which flooded the bottom of the plate. The potatoes tasted great though, and they give you salt and pepper if you’d like to add it to your dish. Maybe I would’ve had a better experience if I ordered a different dish.

Well it is difficult not to give a higher rating, but we are limited to 5 stars. Staff and the owner Ricky give the home cooked touch to this family owned business. Their choice of dinner music didn’t go unnoticed. 1) They take each customer seriously, in a manner that I have rarely seen in my worldly travels . They put a lot of effort into making each guest feel important. Kudos! 2) Food is of course out of the park. I am a solo traveler who wanted to sample everything. They did their best to accommodate me. 3) Grilled squid- delicious but best for an appetizer. 4) Clams. Best clams in Portugal and I have sampled a lot. 5) Tuna steak, medium rare. With caramelized onions on top. To die for. 6) came with home made chips. I never each chips. I ate all of these. Bottom line, one of my favorite restaurant finds of all time. With the service and quality of food, you won’t find a better restaurant experience in Fado.

Local tapas restaurant, where you feel like you want to order every item off the menu. We were greated warmly and seated immediately by the owner. The menu has local portugese tapas, and also generic items like steaks and such. I highly recommend you only order local dishes, you won't regret it, if you need any assistance ask your waiter for guidance (which for us and most tables was the owner). The 2 tapas that we liked the most were the Amêijoas (clams), and the Lulinhas fritas (fried squid). Everything we ordered was excellent, im just outlining the best items. Also recommend getting their sangria, it's rich, packed with flavor, and tastes like how sangria should taste. Their house dessert is great, but do note, it has a decent bit of cinnamon on the top. The owner not only was hospitable, he was proud of his menu and restaurant (and rightfully so!). He held the door open for us on the way out, such a gentleman. Thank you again for the wonderful experience. We will definitely be coming back if we're in town! 🙏

We had a wonderful dining experience at Tasca do Ricky in Faro. The owner, Ricky, was very welcoming and suggested a light vinho verde that paired perfectly with our seafood dishes. The seafood rice was full of flavour and clearly made with care. For dessert, we tried a traditional sweet made with egg yolks and almond paste, which was the ideal way to finish the meal. Both Ricky and our waiter were friendly and attentive, and the customer service was excellent throughout. It does get quite busy between 19:00 and 20:00, but we took a short walk and managed to return at the right time. If you have the chance to get a table here, it’s absolutely worth it! A great spot for a family meal in Sagres! We ordered the Birds and Retro burgers, truffle oil and cheese fries, plus coleslaw. From the very first look at the plates, you can tell they care about presentation – beautifully served dishes, and the taste is even better. The burgers are absolute top tier for Portugal – juicy meat, well-balanced toppings, and fresh brioche buns. The truffle fries have a punchy flavor that really stands out, though at €7.5 per portion, they could be a bit more reasonably priced. The atmosphere is spot-on – great background music, a laid-back vibe, and a staff that really makes the difference. The waitresses are friendly, helpful, and speak perfect English, which instantly makes you feel welcome. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be the option to choose the doneness of the burger patties – mine was a bit undercooked for my taste, but that’s just personal preference. The whole family left happy, so if you’re in the area and looking for great food in a cool setting – this place is definitely worth a visit!

I went to this restaurant based on a recommendation, and it really exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly. The server went out of her way to find me a comfortable place to sit, which I really appreciated. I ordered the lamb skewer, and it was such a pleasant surprise! Absolutely delicious, served with plenty of vegetables and a flavorful sauce. A beautiful, refreshing dish. I truly enjoyed my lunch.

My friend and I turned up to TLB for dinner with no reservation. The staff were friendly and accomodating to finding us a comfortable table without a booking. Throughout our meal they were attentive, polite and showed a good sense of humour. Our food was amazing- we went for the bikini burger, pork belly and goats cheese salad, and shared all three between us which was a perfect amount! The bikini burger was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The pork belly was also perfectly cooked with delicious mashed potato and sauerkraut (I don’t usually like sauerkraut so this was impressive for me!). My favourite dish was the goats cheese salad- it was the best salad I have ever tasted. All of the flavours went together perfectly. The only thing is that I would have loved more of the delicious goats cheese!!! We also got the cucumber and mint soda which was delicious. All around a perfect experience. Definitely recommend a visit to TLB if you’re in Sagres!

The food is delicious, the best burger of my trip. The atmosphere is super cool and pleasant, and the service is very friendly and quick. And they're pet-friendly; they let our 8-month-old puppy in. Highly recommended!

Read here on Google before we visited the website and watched the menu that looked interesting for a group of 5 adults and 3 kids. And the reviews confirmed what we expected, good food ! The kids were satisfied with the burgers, the adults were satisfied. Tried a hamburger which was tasty, others took the sandwich which was huge and good aswell. You shouldnt be disappointed if you go here!

I don't understand why this restaurant has such a relatively low rating. We were immediately attracted to this place by the fact that a lot of locals were coming in for lunch, and decided to give it a try. Just the vintage interior and traditional fittings themselves are astonishing. The service was swift, friendly and professional. We were also happy with their meal selection. The food was well prepared, enjoyable to behold and very tasty. Dessert offering is vast and equally good. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by all aspects and can highly recommend this place.

The place and interiors are BEAUTIFUL! On the other hand, the service - unfortunately, completely ignorant. We had to rebuke the order. And in the end, half of the drinks were not brought to us. Food is very average. A big plus for vegetarian dishes, but they were also tasteless. Therefore, I can't recommend the restaurant even though it's worth putting your head in to see the beautiful decor.

We were looking forward to have dinner here, but i guess to high aspections. The waiter was kind, but and the staters were really taste ! But the main dish which had a certain price was quite dissapointing..was more a vegetable soup with a lot of fish...its a pitty. Everything tasted of paprika and white onions

Lovely lovely lovely! Food was good (but among 3 dishes we ordered, I especially liked fish with banana omg, I didn’t expect it to be that good). Sangria was great. But the waiters are the heart of this place! So friendly, funny and helpful. Helped us to learn to clean sardines😂 Also a great thing is that they have a screen where you can see how dishes look (and especially because they give you time alone to look at it and decide if you wanna stay there). The night when we were there, there was a saxophone player (street musician) who also elevated the atmosphere. This place was in the list of recommended restaurants by our hotel and it did not disappoint!

This restaurant is a hidden gem of Faro. We stayed in Faro for 7 days and have been dining there all the time. The service by Fabio is on another level. If you want to feel like a king and queen ask for Fabio. Atention to detail, general table service and food presentation is out of this world. A beautiful place with a lovely terrace overlooking a charming square, surrounded by other restaurants but with a particularly inviting atmosphere here. Each table has a small light, creating a warm and pleasant ambiance. The waiters are very kind, and some of them speak several languages, which makes the experience even more welcoming. We enjoyed a fish soup, fried calamari, and seafood spaghetti — everything was a real delight and full of flavor. It was a truly enjoyable meal, and if I had been a little hungrier I would have definitely tried more dishes and starters. I know not all reviews are the same, but for us it was more than satisfying and we will keep a great memory of this restaurant. I definitely recommend it.

Wow this place truly was some of the best tasting seafood I have tried ! At first I thought it was too much of a touristy spot but after giving it a chance it definitely exceeded my expectations ! superb service the waiters are so friendly and accommodating and my octopus was just delicious covered with olive oil and roasted garlic with sweet potatoes and peppers made it not only healthy but also extremely tasty really recommend ! 😊

Tapas to share as a meal is a great way to discover several of the typical local dishes that are served here. 4 dishes accompanied with bread and anchovy butter and two glasses of red wine with a dessert to share was more than filling enough for our dinner. And it set us back 60 euros. Lovely service and the atmosphere inside was also refreshing with a quirky combination of an old vaulted cellar like room filled with uptempo music. Loved it and we felt really sorry that they only had to open for us as we were the only customers for the night?! Maybe the fact that they are not on the main tourist thoroughfare is one of the reasons (as other lesser eateries in the main pedestrian street draw more customers) but we can only recommend diverting off the beaten track to discover this gem!

The sardines and the hen with cheakpeas were delicious. Sardines amazing flavor and really tasty. The cod fish croquet were given to us by mistake as the mixed the order. We ate them and they were delicious. Then we ordered the cod fish traditional dish they have with eggs and potatoes (which was our original order) but it was not as tasty as the rest. Not so much cod fish flavor but instead lots of potatoes. Not worth it for the price in my opinion. They only accept cash.

Splendid dinner! Everything was really great, especially the sardines, love it with lemon and the crunchy bread. The staff was nice, fast and always smiling. We eat at the outside tables in a really nice atmosphere. Great quality/price, I will definitely suggest you to try it.

Chicken broth was flavourful but chicken was dry. And we had to go to cash machine to take out cash because they wouldn’t take card. For the standard of this restaurant this should be either warned before or alternative options given. Waiter was not the most welcoming. Change back was given wrong and was not given cherry liquor that they originally offered.

We booked Bovino steakhouse for our group of 12 and had an amazing time. The restaurant is nicely set up and can fit quite a lot of people. Everything we got was great- just be aware of the price! Some highlights include the baby back ribs, filet, and cream spinach side. For a nice night out, this is a great spot to bring friends and family.

We went there for dinner. We ordered the steak tartare, burrata, chateaubriand, cheese burgers and sides: mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. The waiters are friendly, but the service took so long. We waited for more than 30mins for the food to be served, and when it came the mushrooms were burnt, as well as the chateaubriand which was burnt from the outside. The burrata was okay, the steak tartare average, and the mashed potatoes very bland. Honestly, we expected more from this place considering the high ratings and we were disappointed. We complained to the waiter so they offered us each a free dessert.

We had a very nice dinner at Bovino celebrating my youngest daughter’s birthday. We sat on the beautiful patio. The food was delicious from the appetizers to the main courses. Moreover, they offer various meats from several countries in different cuts. Plus the service was incredible. Highly recommend this restaurant!

If you want to have a good steakhouse experience, try this nice steakhouse. The decoration is good, the staff are very nice, the meat is tasty. There is a good variety of sides disches. The cocktails are nice. The only negative point is the cold draft in the restaurant.

The very best food we have ever eaten. The merging of flavours in each dish was magnificent. The wines with starter and main course were excellently chosen. Each course was carefully explained to us; the way in which the menu item had been chosen and the food was prepared to represent past and present traditions of Portugal was wonderful.

Our tasting menu dinner (one vegetarian, one not; seven courses each) at A Ver Tavira qualifies as the best dinner of our lives thus far. Didn’t hurt that it took place over 2.5 hours as the sun set over Tavira from our vantage point at our balcony table. Each course was a testimony to the chef’s (and their collaborators’) artistry. Sometimes with a Michelin restaurant you get beauty over deliciousness. But not so here. The food was nuanced and delectable, and the artistic concepts well considered and beautiful. We felt we were really watching an artist who was both exercising their craft and creativity with every course. Well done.

Very good, well presented but overpriced in my view. Wine pairing was disappointing, sometimes it works very well and it complements the various dishes in a fabulous way, but here it seems not to be the case, they were more like a selection of good wines than true pairing.

The experience in this restaurant was amazing. The name of the restaurant is literally what you get to have as a view: the city of Tavira. There are 3 tasting menus, we chose the Flavour Trip, and it did not disappoint at all. From the amuse-bouche to the dessert, every single dish was a party of flavours. We chose the wine pairing, which was absolutely a perfect compliment to every single dish. It is also worth noting that we had one person in our group that had dietary restrictions, and it was absolutely perfect the way that the chef adjusted the menu to align with the restrictions. It is definitely worth going to this restaurant, and take a chance to also check out the beautiful city of Tavira.

This place is a must-visit if you are in the area and looking for an authentic restaurant offering delicious local meals. Since the very first moment we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff. The waiters were attentive and kindly suggested us their best choices from the menu. The recommended meals were indeed tasty. The food portions were generous and great value for money. To top it off, we were served some really great desserts and coffee. We also loved the traditional Portuguese setting of the restaurant and the historic vintage decor. Overall, we enjoyed the food, the friendly staff and the unique atmosphere and we highly recommend it.

We decided to visit this restaurant on our first night in Portugal and wow, we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable, the owner gave us a full run down of the dishes available and why he loved them. I'd never expect to order a 'cabbage stew' in a restaurant but he had recommended it so fervently I thought I had to try it... And wow, this was not just cabbage stew but an absolute assault on the senses. The flavours, seasoning and all of the other things in the stew... Sweet potato, sausage and some other bits I have no idea what they were but it was top notch!! There were 4 of us, we all ate very well including a platter of starters, a main and 3 desserts plus drinks and we spent €25 euros each 😲 Excellent value, great homely authentic Portuguese food and some brilliant friendly and helpful service to go with it. Not to be missed! The pictures really don't do the food justice, it may not look like much but.... Well just try it!!

I have visited this amazing Mountain Traditional Restaurant many many times over the 25 years I have lived in Portugal, it only ever seems to get better & better every visit. The Cuisine mostly cooked on the Wood ovens gives the amazing Portuguese dishes authentic homemade flavours not found in many places. We were here 2 years ago and today we came back. Always love to be here. I believe they are best restaurant in Algarve region. Always recommend to take day special. Vegetables are fresh, meat fresh and wild like they mention at menu. If you are lucky you can sit outside if not inside also very nice and cultural look.

Today I went up into the hills of Monchique to escape the heat of the southern Algarve (6 degrees cooler today).I sat outside in a lovely shaded terrace. The menu was an authentic joy compared to the offerings closer to the cost. The staff were truly superb, attentive and conversing with all guests in different languages. The food was interesting and varied but most importantly delicious. My belief in Portuguese has been reignited. I shall return and spread the word. The inside dining area would be very inviting on a cooler or damp day. Thank you.

First time we have been to this restaurant. It was so traditional and full of locals having a wonderful family lunch. We went for the traditional dishes they recommended. All food was tasty and well cooked. We will definitely return!

Last night in Lagos and had our final dinner at Mar. The view was incredible, the service was great, and the food was excellent. We had everything from the Portuguese tenderloin to fresh caught red snapper to the seafood risotto. And the appetizers pictured were delicious. Overall A+ meal!

Super scenery! Perfect food. Also dishes which are not at every menue. Service is friendly, correct and good. Today was my 6th visit here for lunch. It was raining cats and dogs. what a weather-show

What a find. There aren’t many restaurants where you can sit under the moonlight and listen to the waves crashing onto the shore - but here you can experience both. Onto the food. The swordfish carpaccio is not a common Lagos headliner, but here it is as good as I have found in any Italian Rst: smoked to perfection, and sliced perfectly. The seafood risotto probably uses artificial flavourings because it tastes too perfect and leaves that parched feeling in your mouth after it has been consumed, but this is a small indiscretion for the price you pay. Very highly recommended.

The best thing about the restaurant is its location, you are high overlooking back into Lagos new town, and the ocean, it is a lovely view. Our food was nice, couldn't really fault it. Prices are a bit on the higher end, I guess you are paying for the view because we didn't pay for service. When waiting to book a table earlier in the day we were ignored until we had to put ourselves in the path of the waiter to get his attention. When we later arrived at the allocated time, again we were ignored, it took some time and again us having to move in the path of the Maitr d' to get attention to be seated after 5 mins of standing and waiting. The Maitre d'retaurant, spoke rudely and was a grump of a man. Our main course took an hour and 20 mins to arrive, the food was nice but nothing outstanding. This restaurant doesn't quite hit the mark based on our experience. I have to say it was very busy on the night and is a great location, maybe we just struck a bad night with the main waiters ? We didn't have 2 other servers that were lovely. We have seen the view now, probably wouldn't go back.

My wife and I stopped here for a mid-day coffee because of the amazing view. We sat down and after just a bit over 15 mins of waiting I've called one of the waiters to ask them to take our order. We haven't been seen by any of the waiters, not offered a drinks menu which was missing from the table or anything for over 15 minutes. At a table close to us there was a couple sitting at a double table with 4 chairs, which at some point was split by one of the waiters (to make room for 2 more customers) but the couple was actually waiting for another couple. The lady tried to say something but the guy moved very quick and then left. I finally had my coffee as well which was good and along with the views, made a good combo. Probably it was just a bad day for the staff. Management could improve employees performance with some on-going training for their staff.

I had a disappointing experience here. Upon arrival, the initial staff member merely pointed at the seafood display without explanation until they noticed my confusion. Only then did someone (possibly the owner) come over to explain their selection process. When ordering, I explicitly stated I was dining alone and requested “not too much” - specifically some clams and a small fresh fish filet. Despite this clear communication… I received an excessive portion of clams - enough to feed four people. Before receiving my clams, I asked to make sure my filet was small. I was told they couldn’t reduce the filet size but I “could take leftovers home”. My filet was also huge. I THINK they did reduce the price of the filet on my bill (likely recognizing my dissatisfaction), the overall experience felt like they were taking advantage of a tourist unfamiliar with their system. Strange vibes. All of that to the side, the fish and clams were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My lesson maybe this isn’t a restaurant you go to solo and be extra communicative.

Fabulous lunch at Gigi’s with friends. The giant prawns were ‘out of this world delicious’ with the most decadent butter sauce followed by a huge perfectly cooked Turbot, filleted to perfection & served with a simple salad & barbecued potatoes. Only here can you have mini Magnum bonbons & Viennetta ice cream as the grande finale! A stand out lunch to be remembered & to return to again soon. A golden glow on all photos due to wonderful yellow parasol coverings. Très bon, parfait & il cibo migliore!

You access Gigi’s over a great wooden boardwalk and the restaurant itself is on stilts. The seafood is great and the atmosphere as fun as the food!

A MUST - the best food we have had so far in Quinta do lago. First of all we booked the wrong Gigi’s restaurant- it turns out we booked one in Scotland. So when we got there they couldn’t find our reservation. Even though they was fully booked they still managed to kindly accommodate us! The staff was truly so lovely and really looked after us. This place was recommended by a friend and she told us it’s not fancy and it can be expensive. So we went into it very much with our eyes open. What we had We had the fish salad ( bit like a potato salad with fish in) it was so yummy! Chickpea salad - absolutely delicious who knew something so simple could taste so good! Basic salad too - probably didn’t need this one but still lovely and fresh! For main we shared a side of seabass - we asked how much it would be as we had been told it’s done by weight and can be pricy she said it was slightly over a 1kg which is fairness she was bang on the money. So the fish worked out to be just over €100 but it comes with sides so I don’t think it’s was unreasonable and would have defiantly been enough for 4 people. We were absolutely stuffed and couldn’t finish it!! My tip would be don’t pig out on the bread save yourself for everything else you won’t be disappointed. Our bill came to €280 we had all the above 2 bottles of wine and water.

One of the best and most expensive fish I have ever eaten. No service. No menu card. 600+ euro check for 3 adults and two kids under yellow ugly dirty sun umbrellas. We went there first time 2 weeks ago, and it was fully booked with first available table for us only today. You should see the face and behavior of the man who “granted” us this table. My wife wanted to book it just to see why this place is that busy. Now we know. Definitely this is a monopoly - no other place for lunch in range of 3 km.

We arrived at 4.30 pm and were told they can’t serve us. There were tables and people seating and enjoying their meals. Zero customer orientation and willingness to work I guess. The view and the atmosphere looks good but after being rejected no desire to go back.

This restaurant is very rustic, but that is just part of the experience. The food is to die for, and the waiters and waitresses are fantastic. It is not cheap, but then you don't expect that when you're paying for this quality food and service. The tiger prawns are fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant.

Awesome place, good views, and good food. Chose your timing wisely as they get very busy. Before 10am for breakfast is normally ok ( I found any way). Breakfast menu till 11.30am, then lunch menu.

Amazing food with Plenty of options for a pub style restaurant. Very friendly staff. Service is a bit slow, but, understandable since its full. The street parking was full and I Imagine it gets quite hectic. Steating area in the sand is amazing for some finger food and drinks. Atmosphere is simply amazing.

I ordered a salmon and avocado salad for around 20 euros, and the salad had brown avocados! I spoke to the manager, and she argued with me that this is normal. You should know better!!

The Shack is a great spot in Quinta. The menu is a bit limited for main meals but the standard was very good. We had breakfast several times and the granola bowl was outstanding!

The staff is amazing here we had Gina and she was a rockstar and Rachael at the front handles all the people with such a smile. The food is ok but the crew is so great and the space is so beautiful it makes up for the food.

It's one of my favourite places in Quinta do Lago. The atmosphere is great, the location is perfect on top of the lake, and the food is nice (not amazing, but that is not expected in such places). The service is very friendly, well organised and effective, despite the place is always packed. Price is ok for the expectations and fair for the overall experience. It's totally recommended... never lose an opportunity to go there when in the area.

Finding this great restaurant on my first night in Cavrvoeire. Amazing dining area just right by the beach under the cliff. Unfortunately We were too late to get the beach front table. But, the dining area upstairs also has a good view at the ocean. Plus the food was fabulous， seafood are fresh as it just caught from the sea. The service are warming friendly and attentive. It is definitely a great local restaurant to visit.

Amazing view and right on the beach… not too busy in the early evening so it was easy to get a table without booking. The food was nice but a bit plain, expected from somewhere in that price range. It was a lovely experience with great service.

Fabulous location on the beach nestled between the cliffs. We did not have a reservation but lucked out arriving just as the sun was setting. And what a glorious sunset we got to see. I had the specialty of the house which is fish with shrimp and mushrooms in a red sauce. Outstanding. She said hers was the best fish she had in Portugal on this trip.

A true paradise. Family run and the food is always great - it’s by far one of our favorite places in the algarve…a must stop if you’re in the area. The best is the cuttle fish, grilled octopus, grilled shrimp, any of the seafood platters, and of course the fish of the day is always amazing 😍

Wonderful location directly at the beach overlooking the scenery. The food is very good, fresh fish and more. We had fish and chips and chicken pork-piri (we’re a bit in a hurry because last day and had to leave for airport). We are coming here for many years…

A Lovely spot above the beach. Would recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Service was ok and food was ok but I would not class it as value for money for what we had. Good for a quick beach lunch or dinner but don't expect high end.

The restaurant also serves as a rooftop bar, not only for hotel guests. Just enter the lobby and keep left to the elevators. It is a fanatistic spot to sit here in the late afternoon, shielded from the wind by the glass paneling and sip a drink and watch the harbour activities and the sunset. As you are high up you also have a good almost 360 view on the city and it is especially a good observation spot for the storks on nearby rooftops.

We spent an excellent evening at this rooftop restaurant on top of a modern building. The view on the small harbour and nature reserve Ria Formosa alone is worth visiting. Watching the setting sun is truly magical. Luckily the food matches the view. Every course was outstanding and beautifully presented. We enjoyed some good wine with our food. Service was very friendly and helpful. Only minor complaint: the courses came a bit too quickly for me, I didn't mind some extra time between the courses. But truly, this is nitpicking. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place to have a drink because of the spectacular views. However, we ordered 3 glasses of the most expensive white wine by the glass. 8€ each. The wine unfortunately was horrible it wasn't corked. Perhaps the cheaper one would have been better. In the Algarve for almost 40 years, we know it's hard to find a bad glass of wine here, but someone in charge has actually found one. But otherwise a great place to visit.

The food is delicious but unfortunately the service is not very attentive. You clearly notice that there is no manager on the floor. The menu includes 4 fish dishes, 3 meat dishes and 1 vegan dish. Prices vary between 20 and 35 euros. Ria Formosa restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the Faro Hotel, located on the harbor of Faro. It is directly connected to the Cosmopolitan Rooftop Bar. The restaurant is decorated in a modern way, and the light is too white, which makes it look a bit like an office, instead of a cozy restaurant. But it has a fantastic view over the city and nature area Ria Formosa. And you see the many planes coming over low. There are a limited number of tables outside where you can eat. That's the most beautiful place! But the place is unique, so recommended! PS You can park under the hotel. The elevator takes you to the 4th floor.

Very nice atmosphere. The panoramic scene is magnificent, but the sunset doesn't meet one's expectation: there's a building obstructing the view. The food is the weakest point. There's a clear effort to prepare elegant dishes, but it is (alas) unsuccessful. Fish (including bacalhau) is terrible. The salads are barely sufficient. Bread and flavoured butter/cheese are good. The waiters are polite, kind and patient. They all speak English. In conclusion: difficult to judge, but taking everything into account, no more than 3 stars.

It was a very interesting fine dining experience, although I was there during a conference dinner, so the menu might not be representative of the regular one. The courses were elaborate, beautifully plated variations on the local cousine. Very friendly staff, and the location is flabbergasting - the views from the rooftop can make you dinner all by themself.

Beautiful place with lovely food. The terrace is a great spot for the marina view and old town, nice atmosphere to enjoy the beautiful sunset with good cocktails, wine or cold beers. I also had dinner, it was the scallops for starter and the lobster risotto for main. Both were delicious and generous portions I was delighted. My daughter had a steak with chips, it wasn't tender so that disappointed me but I will still highly recommend the sea food I had.

Great day at Purobeach. The beds are comfy and it’s nice how they give you two towels. Service was good and the food was nice - slightly on the expensive side. Overall would recommend!

A wonderfully well-organized beach club. We’ve been to a few Purobeaches in Europe now and they’re all very consistent. Competent staff, sufficiently high-priced to ensure a calm environment but not so high priced as to keep it out of reach for mortals. Food was okay but you’re not there for the food. Enjoy!

Great place on the beach, however service was appalling! Over 20 mins for a water!! Asked for the menu 4 times and still never brought out to us! Gave us bills we had already paid quite a few times,think they were definitely trying their luck, thinking we had drunk too much and would keep paying - luckily some of us were not drinking and made sure we were paying the correct bills only once! Just really bad service here, would not book again! Shame cause later afternoon the DJ and party vibes were great!!

I am very pleased with what your club in Vilamoura is all about. I chose this place to host my friend's birthday party. I really liked the location, the general atmosphere, the great service, the delicious food, and the very friendly atmosphere among the other guests. I've been to similar clubs in other countries and often guests behave inappropriately, but here the atmosphere is relaxed, respectful, and relaxed on high. Worthy

Extremely expensive for what you receive. We booked a front row pair of beds which had incredible views of the sea, however, the fruit bowl and small bottles of water were inadequate for the price paid. Also, whilst the staff were friendly it was incredibly difficult to get their attention and we spent a good portion of the day trying to order a drink or food, all of which were overpriced. I had the deep sea calamari which arrived cold and on top of a very small salad. The afternoon was spent surrounded by seagulls and after ordering one more drink we decided to leave. We did have a relaxing time and the music was nice, however, for the price paid it really was not up to the standard we expected and unless prices are seriously dropped or the food and service is greatly improved we would not return. This beach club could be incredible but sadly is not run in a way that enables this currently.

I recently dined at APERITIVO, and I must say, the experience was fantastic! The food was exceptionally good, bursting with fresh flavors that truly showcased the seafood. The restaurant's design is also quite impressive, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, making the visit even better. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys seafood. You won't be disappointed!

This was our first time in Faro and we are certainly glad we discovered Apertivo. The food and atmosphere were amazing with good service as well. We had the Chorizo, Olives, Pork Shoulder and Goat cheese. These were all plentiful and delicious. I have to say the Calamari was the best I have ever had and is a must have when you are here. Drinks were great and the prices reasonable. Loved the vibe sitting outside. We will definitely be back.

The best bar in faro! Anna the bartender is the most lovely and hospitable person ever. We came here every night during our stay and each night got even better. lovely and amazing, you have to come here immediately…

Wow! It was our first time to Faro, and looking for a place to have a drink, we found Aperitivo. So glad we did. The outside area was very inviting , but what really made the night special was that waitress, Maria! She was the only one work the entire outside area, but she was attentive to everyone. She made sure everyone was happy and that they had everything they needed . She was so friendly even with the stress of a full bar. The bartender that night was really nice too, but if we come back to Faro we will definitely come back to see if Maria is there.

I cannot speak more highly of the food and service. Maria was nothing short of a delight. The chorizo was one of the best things I ate while in Faro. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. 10/10 would recommend.

We chose the tapas and enjoyed the delicious garlic prawns and mushroom with cheese on toast both full of flavour. We were looked after very well by Maria. Excellent value for money, highly recommend!

Had a nice vegetarian burger 🍔. Came out of the kitchen really too hot to pick up or eat (including the bun) and had to wait for it to cool down before I could take a bite (maybe put the bun on after it's cooked). Otherwise was tasty and went well with the fries 🍟 and dip sauces. One small criticism, not a fan of the melted (American style) cheese on top, but that's just my personal tastes. Would go again

Located right in the city center, this restaurant has a pleasant interior and the staff is both professional and friendly. The service was fairly quick, and the dishes were served promptly. While the food is presented as healthy, it's also quite tasty. Overall, it's a giid option if you're in the area, looking to eat something quick but healthy as well.

Came after they refurbished the place on their first day. The food was amazing (chicken pasta and the traditional dessert), I never leave reviews but the service and food was excellent. Really clean and nice place with a good feel to it. Cheap and good, definitely try.

Salmon poke bowl was excellent! Chicken tapioca chicken was ok, the chicken was good but I found the wrap (made from tapioca) a bit dry. Clean modern interior.

The „Sandwich“ was a Little expensive for what was served. The Coffee was just okay. The Juice was nice. The Joghurt with fruits was really good. The staff was friendly.

Lovely place with really tasty coffee and great vegan breakfast options. The atmosphere is cozy, though sometimes you might need to wait a little for a table. Аnd I especially appreciated the kind Ukrainian staff member - it was a pleasure to communicate with them.Definitely worth it!

Stopped by for a coffee..was warmly welcomed and the service was excellent. Coffee was exceptionally good. The place has a very cool vibe with the surf boards and other stuff displayed. Will definitely visit again. They also have natural wines which i want to try.

We grabbed a couple coffees on our way into the old city. I had an Oatly iced latte and my husband had a traditional cappuccino with some brown sugar. Both were terrific. Marcia is an excellent barista. She’s knowledgeable about single origin coffee, their roasters and could tell us exactly what we were drinking. She, Sundesh and the team there are professional, polite and offer great service. Highly recommended!

My friends and I returned back twice on our trip to this sweet coffee and brunch spot. We recommend the açaí bowl and peanut butter toasty! They have many yummy pastries too. Everyone who works here is so kind

Finally, I found a very nice coffee shop where you can relax, work, or meet friends. They provided a pleasant atmosphere and nice coffee. Finally, I got a good Flat White, and the Avocado Toast was so delicious, mixed with nice ingredients. I am not referring to many places, but this one is definitely worth a visit and a relaxing time. 🥹🫶

What not to love about this place??? Coffee was the best we’ve had on the trip and some of the best I’ve had in my life, the matcha was perfectly balanced too. The banana bread was soft and fluffy, so good. The ambience and decoration was so cute and cosy, and everything looked spotless. Service was quick and friendly too! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend anyone in the area to try them out.

We really liked that they don’t charge extra for oat milk, which is very uncommon in Portugal😊 Also, the Matcha and Humus Toast were both delicious!

I wanted to share my wonderful experience dining at Umami this evening with a friend. We started with the edamame with kimchi sauce and the milk bread, which was incredibly fresh, felt very homemade, and the flavour was elevated by the miso butter.The sushi was amazing, and Nikita was very helpful with adjusting some portions on the gunkan. The bluefin tuna tataki was simple yet delicious. For our main courses, the beef tenderloin was flavorful, though a bit chewy for my preference, while the shrimp ramen was perfectly served.For dessert, the cheesecake and pumpkin cream were unique and absolutely delicious!A special thanks to Rafael and Nikita for their exceptional service and making us feel at home. The sake and wine matched very well with the chosen food. My only small suggestion would be not to place empty wine bottles upside down, though it's just a personal opinion.Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely recommend Umami and return in the future.~ Jeet & Sukru

We had decided to spend a romantic evening with my wife at this restaurant, after an incredible difficulty with the reservation, involving phone calls, emails, and credit card requests. Unfortunately, due to a serious health problem that occurred to my partner, we had to cancel. I tried to contact the phone number several times without receiving any response, even hours before the scheduled dinner time. At this point, I thought of sending a cancellation email and the great surprise was that I was shamefully charged €30 on my credit card. I have never in my life in sixty years received treatment like this. I should point out that I have been frequenting Portugal for 10 years and live here in August and December. In addition to frequenting the best restaurants around the world, it was a disgusting experience and I hope that the owners of this company realize that taking €30 from a couple who have suffered a health disaster is also a moral affront. I repeat, shame on you now and forever for this scandalous gesture!!! Small note... the manager of the place called me back. I tried to clarify with him, and he laughed at me again on the phone... at which point I told him that our conversation could end there, furthermore for the €30 that I was robbed of, I was not even issued an invoice or a receipt to justify this disgraceful situation!!!!

Wow. The food here is a different level, a culinary delight!! We had a party of 11 so went for the "Mist of the West" sharing menu. Each 'Moment' offered something different, I liked the Edamame, Satay and Beef Robata but the sushi selection was amazing. The setting is beautiful and the service was great. Can't wait to go back.

We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary at Umami last night and went for the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing as it takes the difficulty out of choosing something from the fantastic menu.I have to say the food was out of this world; as were the wine pairings; as was the brilliant service from Paolo and his superb team. The price is not cheap but actually when you factor in all the drinks as well, the ambience and the setting, it represents good value in my view.Can’t wait to go back.

When talking about our dinner here I speak of an experience. Due to the amazing taste sensations, the utterly friendly, helpful and enthusiastic staff and the stunning surroundings/atmosphere it is an experience more than just a meal. Absolutely the best dinner I’ve had in years! I loved all the different tastes in every single bite. Even my tea was out of this world (the tea was presented as if choosing a fine wine). It was a bit more expensive than we usually spend on dinner, but we found it was worth it.
