Tapas bar
Bar
Rebote is a lively and popular tapas bar located in León's Barrio Húmedo, known for its delicious croquettes filled with cheese, chorizo, bacon, and other unique flavors. The bar offers a variety of croquetas such as pizza, jalapeno chili, and wild mushroom. Additionally, the area is renowned for its diverse culinary scene with recommendations for garlic soup at El Rincon del Gaucho and squid sandwich at Monalisa Vinateria.
Best croquetas in town! Try the spicy ones, but only if you're up for it. Since they are really SPICY! A great selection of other flavours as well.
Raymond K — Google review
We didn't even get in, as we went early to try the famous croquetas, but long enough after their opening time, and they just told us to wait outside because they were not open yet. Literally, they kicked us out. Not cool.
Filipa M — Google review
We tried the local red wine (Prieto Picuro) with the mixed olives tapa. Both delicious and together less than €3

Truly great lunch, superb tapas, the chorizo was amazing, the morcilla de Leon absolutely delicious, fabulous scallops!

Barbecue restaurant
Castilian restaurant
Mesón de Cándido is a legendary restaurant located in a rustic 1800s half-timbered house beneath a Roman aqueduct in Segovia. It is renowned for its roasted suckling pig, which is the most famous local dish. The city also offers traditional museums such as the Antonio Machado House-Museum and surprising new spaces like La Carcel, a former prison turned into an exhibition and cultural center.
Service at this restaurant is extraordinary, with delicious “cochinillo” and great environment and location at Segovia. Promptly welcomed for our 1pm reservation, and fortunate to be seated at a central location upstairs, were served by an ever courteous waiter that was attentive and anticipative to our needs. Following the Cochinillo ceremony by Don Candido, descendant of the founder, we enjoyed the succulent cochinillo and other dishes, and house wine. Reasonable prices. This is a very famous restaurant and destination, but happy to report this is by no means a tourist trap !
Jose R — Google review
Meson de Candido in Segovia offers a traditional Castilian dining experience with mixed results across their classic menu offerings. The decent chicken caesar salad provided a familiar, reliable start to the meal without any particular distinction from standard preparations. The interesting mushroom dish, Setas de Segovia, showcased local ingredients but proved a little too earthy for my taste. While clearly fresh and regionally authentic, the intense earthiness may appeal more to mushroom enthusiasts than casual diners seeking milder flavors. The seabass was very good, demonstrating the kitchen's capability with seafood preparation through proper cooking technique and seasoning that highlighted the fish's natural qualities without overwhelming them. The cochinillo (roast suckling pig) - the restaurant's signature dish - was good but could use more herbs and seasoning to elevate it beyond basic preparation. While the meat was tender and properly cooked, it lacked the bold flavors that would make this traditional Segovian specialty truly memorable. The dining experience was significantly enhanced by the stunning location - we loved the view of the Roman aqueduct, which creates an unparalleled backdrop that adds historical grandeur to the meal. This magnificent setting transforms an ordinary dinner into something special, making the restaurant as much about the experience as the food. Meson de Candido succeeds in providing traditional Castilian cuisine in an extraordinary setting, where the breathtaking views of the ancient aqueduct create lasting memories that complement the regional food offerings. Unfortunately, the staff were quite rude and unenthusiastic, rushing us to eat and leave.
Jonathan N — Google review
We had such a great experience there! We were there 1pm on Tuesday, it was already very busy. We didn’t book a table but we were lucky enough to have a table! Because when we went in a few minutes after it opened, the restaurant was packed! We ordered 1 portion of a suckling pig, and a potato truffle omelet. Both of them were amazing! The owner of the restaurant himself did a small breaking the plate show to us and also to every room that day! It was amazing! Definitely recommend! (And the view from the restaurant is the Segovia Aqueduct itself! Truly beautiful). And the staffs are very nice.
Kawisara T — Google review
While in Segovia, I dined at Mesón de Cándido, the city’s legendary spot for roast suckling pig. With such a reputation, expectations were understandably high – but the experience, unfortunately, didn’t quite live up to the hype. We had a dinner reservation, and although the place wasn’t fully booked, the staff’s service felt rather indifferent – not rude, but lacking warmth. It gave off the impression of a restaurant resting on its fame rather than striving to impress. We ordered a salad, pig’s ears with beans, the famous roast suckling pig, and roasted lamb. The pig is undoubtedly the headline item here, but to be honest, it felt overrated. The skin – usually prized for its crispiness – was soft and slightly rubbery, likely due to excess moisture. With better treatment of the skin, the dish could have lived up to its reputation. Surprisingly, the roasted lamb outshone the pig – crisp skin, tender meat, and full of flavor. Overall, while Mesón de Cándido holds undeniable historical significance and name recognition in Segovia, I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit purely for the food. Unless you’re particularly drawn to the tradition and history of the place, there are probably better culinary options in town.
NO F — Google review
Of course it was a must when visiting Segovia. We had a reservation and we didn't have to wait to be shown to our table. The interior is very cozy and the views beautiful. We had the segovian mushroom and grilled Eggplants with ham as starters, duck and the suckling pig as entre and as dessert the sogovian ponche cake. All very tasty, especially the two starters stole the show. The staff were really friendly and tried to help us considering our very limited Spanish.
Shirin S — Google review
We loved the experience. The history of the restaurant and how many people they have served. The cochinillo show was a fantastic close to a very nice meal.
Santiago T — Google review
I was a group of seven and we were able to sit outside for lunch. Most in the group ordered the sucking pig and they enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken - I wasn’t what I expected but was okay. There was also an order of fish, which was the best meal at the table.
Emily P — Google review
Large servings of food. We only wanted one dish but our server said it might not be enough for two. But when it arrived, it was good for at least 2. Oh well, something to eat at the hotel later. Service was very good, we got a table right away. I had the veal steak and it was very tender. My wife had the suckling pig roast and she liked it. The bread and wine are just okay. We also had the poncho segoviano and it was really good.

Restaurante Casa Ojeda is a historic establishment located in the heart of Burgos, founded in 1912. The main dining room boasts intricate wood carvings and tiled walls, creating an ornate atmosphere. Known for its quality products, the restaurant offers a variety of Castilian tapas, roast lamb, and renowned pastries. The slow-roasted milk-fed lamb cooked in a wood-burning oven is particularly famous and considered one of the best dishes in the city.
Service was great (thank you Antonio). The suckling lamb was succulent, tender and well flavoured. I also tried the local dessert, so light and yummy. Highly recommended. Do note that restaurant that serves mains open at 1330, while the bar opens much earlier.
Little E — Google review
The food was tasty and well flavored. The wine list was extensive but poorly organized. This made finding and selecting our wine challenging. The only glitch was not bringing both main courses at the same. Had to wait five minutes with my warm oxtail cooling for my wife's fish dish to arrive.
Art M — Google review
Outstanding. Old fashioned service in a beautiful setting . Eat a quick bite downstairs or go up to the beautiful dining room. Service was friendly and efficient. Came for the roasted baby lamb it was delish . Juicy fall off the bone and tender. We had asparagus plate and the sopa castellana with an egg and jamón stirred in. Desserts were all homemade. So happy we ate here.

There are two of us but we ordered the roast lamb for three people, it's so delicious👍 In addition, you can bring your pets to sit outside on the terrace😍👍🐶

Amazing lamb & a huge portion for us 3 (we ordered for two people). Love the chorizo as well. This looks like a local joint and incredibly beautiful interior. The only annoyance was the wasps that kept buzzing but otherwise, alls great!
Lisa M — Google review
This place major selling point is it's superb decor. Mains are ok although I would expect much more for the the prices. The dessert I had was amazing and the main reason why I would return to the place,it was called something like explosion de sensaciones, color y temperaturas.

Tapas bar
Bar
La Bicha is a small bar located in the humid neighborhood of Leon, known for serving a special and spicy blood sausage called morcilla. The owner takes pride in offering one of the spiciest morcillas in town. Despite its size, La Bicha is incredibly popular with locals, often packed wall-to-wall with patrons enjoying vermouth and local wine. While some may mention the owner's reputation for being unpleasant, many visitors have found him to be quite friendly during their visit.
Delicious morcilla, great wine and vermouth, fun atmosphere. Pretty sure the negative reviews are from Karens who weren’t allowed to Karen. If you’re respectful, you’ll be fine. Cash only. Someone wrote how it’s so quiet in here, suggesting it’s because ppl are afraid of the owner. No. He just restricts the flow of ppl into the small inside area, which means it’s not packed, no one has to yell to hear themselves talk AND you can hear the music playing inside. How novel!
Halina M — Google review
What a horror of place. The Morcilla is good but not the best and definitely not worth to take the insults and bad character of the owner and cook. The guy insults people, accused and agreed several groups during the 20min we were here. From “I’m not serving you” to calling bad names to some girls there. Really AVOID this place!
Jorge V — Google review
Rude. We went to try what is supposed to be he best morcilla but the cook was so rude we didn’t stay. I have never been treated so badly in one instant. Avoid this place
Adriana F — Google review
if you want to try the best morcilla in Leon, you need to know your place, make the queue, no special requests, only local wine, pay cash and enjoy!! Worth it!!
Jeff A — Google review
I am basing my 5 star review only based on the Morcilla de Leon. It was one of the best ones I tried in Leon as well as being the spiciest version which I really enjoyed. The owner was there alone and was friendly but I could see service being an issue although it was not my experience. The Morcilla is worth any other issue in my opinion.
Darrin — Google review
This place is nice to go only for some tapas. The morcilla is a must to try! I liked it a lot that I even bought some take away. Quite affordable and giving a bar/cantina vibe. Great place to meet for a tapa and a picudo wine before dinner.

Spanish restaurant
The Restaurant Casa Duque is a long-running country-style locale for Segovian cuisine like suckling pig, garlic soup & wild boar. It's decorated with a medieval castle theme and has many pictures of the owners and celebrities on the walls since 1895. Reservations are recommended as it can get busy, and there's table service and full bar.
Amazing place, very cozy and well decorated.giving you the vibe of an old authentic Spanish restaurant. Food and dessert are very tasty. We got lamb suckling chops and pork suckling chop. Both grilled perfectly and taste very good. House wine is tasty! For the dessert we had puff pastry and taste like heaven! Really recommend this place
HOMA S — Google review
While the atmosphere was nice, this high priced meal fell short of expectation’s. First of all, one of the servers had a bad cold with a runny nose and red eyes. He shouldn’t have been there. We observed him grabbing his runny nose, then proceeded to grab silverware for customers. Thankfully he was not our server. My husband ordered the suckling fried pig and it was merely crackling with feet intact. Very dry. I ordered the Monk Fish with shrimp, and it was very undercooked. (See photo) Lastly, they appeared to not particularly care for us 2 Americans. We are easy folks. The only really friendly person was the tall slim gentleman in the white chef jacket and jeans that circulated around the restaurant. He was great!!!! We questioned if he was really the chef, or if we was hired to pretend to be since he was out front so often. Best part of the meal was the wine.

We visited 21september Had a fabulous meal. Had the Cochinillio asado A very intriguing bar and restaraunt We went into the bar on one street then went up internally two floors up. Well worth a visit 😊

Lunch stop during a day visit to Segovia! This place reflects the vibe of this magnificent city - medieval sharm! Multiple rooms with cozy decor! While tons of artifacts all over the place - it doesnt give a sense of clutter! Service was professional quick and friendly! Menu is traditional Spanish dishes - we tried a little of everything - we also had various soups - i personally ordered castile soup - it was ok. Probably would opt to try something else next time - but not because of poor quality - but more of a taste preference! House wine was great! Rich and tasty! Prices are a bit above average so if you want a more budget meal - this is not the place!! Overall - solid 5! 4 stars only for food and thats only because of taste matter! But certainly no regrets. I would not advise to drive there - park somewhere outside the old city and walk Segovia!!! It is worth every step
Dan L — Google review
Authentic local restaurant with a long history. They serve local specialties in a traditional setting. We had the judiones de la granja, the cochinillo which is the suckling pig, and chorizos. They were all really delicious.
Ryan H — Google review
This restaurant is located very centrally in Segovia. When you enter, you’re greeted by very friendly staff which are super professional. The restaurant itself is very traditionally decorated. The food served is traditionally Spanish. The Cochinillo is one of the best in Segovia. Highly recommended to also order the starter plate which contains different specialties from the region!
S H — Google review

RESTAURANTE LA HOJA 21 is an upscale restaurant located just off the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca. The elegant environment features a glass facade, high ceilings, and minimalist art, offering a welcome change from typical Castilian mesones. The menu offers traditional dishes with a modern twist, such as iberico pork ravioli and langoustine-stuffed trotters for dinner. They also offer a lunch prix fixe menu on weekdays.
Nicely decorated. Croquetas were awesome. The other 2 main plates were ok nothing spectacular. Service was good, but mostly focused on the locals.
South E — Google review
Extremely good food and excellent service. The second plate lacked a bit of things to accompany the dish - it focused on the meat and fish more. I believe a gourmet dish shouldn't mean less items in a plate. The only thing missing in this restaurant is napkin cloths, it would elevate the restaurant to its proper level. For the level of the restaurant, 22€ per person for lunch is an excellent price for the quality of food your getting.
Matilde R — Google review
We experienced one of our worst meals in Spain. For an expensive 5 star restaurant, both the food and service were very poor. Having relied on the menu English translation "T-bone steak", under the Spanish title chuleta de ternera, we received white meat probably veal, but at least half was not able to eat due to extensive fat. The photo shows some of the fat that had to be cut off together with a lot of sinew leaving only half of the meat to eat. It was also under cooked even though we sent it back once. Proper translation showed the meat was veal which is surprising given veal is normally lean, not fatty. Clearly it was a very poor quality meat and certainly not T-bone steak red meat. Having complained to the waiter twice, he had no interest at all. We asked to speak to the manager who was very aggressive, rude and threatened to call the police even though we showed him the photo. We therefore reluctantly paid the full bill and left. A very disappointing evening. We visit Spain regularly and this was the worst experience.
C C — Google review
One of the worst experiences in years. Unprofessional, disrespectful and neglectful. I was in a big gala dinner and they offered rice (starter) and then somebody showed me a bowl with plain noodles saying world you eat this, it looked horrible. Then they kept serving everyone completely ignoring me. No alternatives were offered, they were looking at me staying and everyone is eating, serving a dish after the other. It was a surreal experience. Only in nightmares you can find such low level of unprofessional behavior. I had to leave to find a place to eat. My advise, is, avoid at all costs.
Mohammed S — Google review
An excellent restaurant with a different quality of food that I suggest you definitely try. Also, their hosting is excellent. Calm atmosphere with delicious food and excellent quality.
Mehrzad M — Google review
We had a great experience here for a special Thursday date night. The menu is offered in the evenings during the week, so we ordered from that. The selections change weekly. All of the food we very good. The wine selection has many high quality bottles but we just wanted a glass of wine each, not a bottle, so our choices were limited. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful in describing the menu choices. The food came quickly. I thought the presentation was fine and the portions were plenty for me.
Caitlin F — Google review
Extremely surprised by a 4+ rating.. Service is poor and the food was not good either. Grilled Aubergine with anchovies appears to have been grilled some months ago and thawed out, clearly lacking the colour of Aubergine or its taste. Stewed Cod with creamy potato had the consistency of slime unfortunately. I would venture to say a packet sauce was used. Invisible cremy potatoes was a first for me. Duck breast with quamquat was just that and absolutely nothing else, a raw bloody duck breast as per picture. All foods came cold except for the chips my partner ordered because for just under €100, we were both still hungry. At least the chips was hot straight from the freezer to the deep fryer. Whatever it was that singled us out for a terrible dining experience, it would be interesting to know. When i asvised the waiter of the poorquality of food, he laughted as simply walked on. Perhaps, the 4+ rating is due to the Establishment's pursuit to have Google remove negative reviews.

The food was good but not consistently. Some dishes were much better than others and their presentation was rather too plain. Nevertheless, prices are decent, the staff was very polite and the location is good as well.

Restaurante Cocinandos is a stylish dining spot with a hacienda-inspired setting and a patio. Located in the Casa del Peregrino of the former convent of San Marcos, this restaurant offers market-driven tasting menus with wine pairings. The menu, called Los Siete Caminos, changes weekly based on available produce at the market.
I was here in June while I was walking the Camino. It was a rest day and I was exploring the amazing city. Dressed in dirty clothes and with my huge backpack, the chef and the waitress still showed great hospitality and amazing service. I was greeted me at the door and I believe it was the head chef explained the idea behind their restaurant and the tasting menu, which is taking various ingredients throughout Spain, the freshest at the time and place them on the menu. Each dish is an art piece, full of surprises and flavour. The wine pairing is also a must! Amazing wines to pair with each course, which enhances and elevates the taste. Will definitely be back again in the future!

The food is as amazing as you'd expect of a Michelin star restaurant and cheaper than expected. The wine pairing is delicious and local with good explanation. At €26 or so it's really great value! Its a tourist trap. A small cup of Salmorejo was 7.5euros and the tapa sandwich was 6.5euros. Both of them tasted just ok. No bread was given. In other cities, such as Sevilla, we paid half the price and got much better food. Very disappointing.

The tapas were all very tasty, beautifully served and the atmosphere relaxed in a small alley in the center of Salamanca. We had the Risotto boletus, the hamburger, the tempura de trigeros y langostinos and the erizos. The service was fast and the drinks were very nice. We recommend it.

The personnel were very kind, portions were generous and the taste was correct but nothing outstanding. Probably expectations were so high due recommendations and restaurant reputation. However, I would qualify with 5* the ensaladilla rusa and alubias with pulpo

First experience at Salamanca and very.good to be honest. We made our first stop in the middle of Spain at Salamanca, after 700km road trip, and tapas we took for dinner were all excellent: very good bravas, amazing tomato salad, extremely tasty bacon mollitos... Nestled in a serene natural setting, Restaurante Serrano is a delightful culinary gem that beautifully marries rustic charm with modern flair. This family-run establishment prides itself on using top-quality seasonal ingredients to craft an impressive menu. Signature dishes like the chickpeas with octopus and creamy goat cheese paired with Pedro Ximenez raisins showcase the region's rich flavors. The inviting atmosphere makes it perfect for enjoying local wines alongside hearty meat and seafood offerings.
We discovered Serrano restaurant while we were doing the Camino de Santiago, and it was an exceptional experience. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed with excellent attention. The food was simply outstanding. I highly recommend the octopus with chickpeas, the cod and orange carpaccio, the lamb, and the pasta. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly executed. All the desserts are delicious, so make sure to save room for them. Plus, the chef personally visits the tables, adding a special and personal touch to the experience. Serrano is truly a gem in the heart of Astorga, and I highly recommend it. Definitely not to be missed!

Serrano is definitely a gem in Astorga, the food and services are second to none. We love the environment and perfect for special occasions. Lucky enough to meet the wild mushrooms season must try with good collection of wines. Can’t miss the home made desserts too. Chef owner is still in charge of the kitchen ensuring the highest standards. Highly recommended.

Outstanding! Everything about this restaurant was good. The service was excellent, and we were greeted well and seated right away, though we had a reservation which is recommended. They had a great variety of dishes, including some out of the menu that were in season. The food was well presented, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant is cozy, clean, with a great atmosphere, and the bathrooms were immaculate. It was a great place to eat at. Highly recommended.

Camino meal after 20 mile walk today. It didn't disappoint. Lentils with octopus, leg of lamb, paired with an amazing dessert. Just ask your waiters to help you chose. The head chef came by my table twice to check on me. Wine and 3 courses 81 euros. My best meal in Spain to date,

Creative and interesting dishes. Wonderful service. Wine rather pricey - double what you pay in a bar here in Astorga.

Exceptional! My husband and I were very underdressed only having Camino clothes but the waiters were still very kind and treated us gracefully. The food was absolutely delicious too. We shared the Salmon salad, mushroom and garbanzo beans, deer, and a dessert each and it was all amazing. Worth the splurge 100%.

Great food and lovely service from Raoul. We had octopus with chick peas, salmorejo of cherries, hake and lamb all with a delicious bottle of Godello from Bierzo. It’s a fantastic mix of traditional with very smart modern touches. A true find in Astorga and we would return any time.

Family owned and run -- every bite was exceptional. I captured photos of the cecina and chickpea and pulpo appetizers, but I neglected to snap the wild mushrooms (which were amazing). The chickpeas were melt in your mouth amazing. Mild and tender lamb for the entree followed by a tapas style dessert assortment -- really can't rave loudly enough about this place. You should just go. 😊

Nestled in the heart of León, Pizzería La Competencia is a must-visit for pizza lovers seeking an authentic experience. This charming eatery offers a delightful array of pizzas, including unique local flavors like chestnuts and cecina ham. The thin-crust options are particularly popular among patrons who appreciate a crispy bite. While the ambiance may not be overly fancy, the focus here is on delivering perfect pizzas at affordable prices.
Great place to have pizza. It was a bit hard to find but definitely worth it. Great service and affordable price! I got the menu del día (€12.30) including pizza, salad, bread, coke and desert. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended!

I was welcomed here Easter Sunday, and had the Menú del Día. First course I had chorizo croquetas, which were served hot with good cheese flavor and a crispy, chewy crust. For pizza I had the SICILIANA - Tomate, mozzarella, bacón, cebolla, gambas, chiles, nata, ajo y albahaca. This is a little spicy, with good flavors of the onion and shrimp. The crust was light and crispy. I added a full ration of flan for dessert, and it was very good, only surpassed by one in my experience. I recommend.

El Fogón Sefardí is a restaurant in a medieval-style building with murals of suckling pigs that dates back to the 1400s. The cuisine features traditional Spanish dishes, as well as some innovative recipes influenced by Sephardic culture. There's a pretty reasonable price tag for all the food on offer, and the setting is charming and cozy.
Wonderful restaurant just inside Jewish quarter in Segovia. Enjoyed the lunch tasting menu. Food was delicious and service was fantastic.

Came for the €18.50 three course menu which also included red wine (about two glasses very drinkable), mineral water and bread. Food was superb, cooked to perfection. We had pork cheek and cod for mains. Both amazing for the price. Had to wait around for a few minutes in the bar to be served, but was worth it. Nicely air conditioned inside and historic interiors, nothing fancy but nice. Compared with prices elsewhere nearby this was great value and so tasty

Elegant, beautifully decorated, delicious food. I first heard about this restaurant in a TV show that praised the best restaurants in Segovia that one must dine in, even if only for tapas and drinks. They list their tapas by the year of award, and 2007, 2010 and 2014 are must-eats. Bartender was sociable, attentive, and very pleasant. Eat and feel a little bit of the enchantment of Jewish Spain. Love this place.

A lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere in an old building. We ordered a 3 course day menu for €17.50 per person and that also included a jug of red house wine. The starter, the main and the dessert were all really good.

Great place in ancient Jewish Quarter of Segovia. Really pleasant dining in historic building. Really great food and the best cheesecake I had in my life (and I’m a fussy eater and a self proclaimed cheesecake connoisseur). We had menu of the day for a whole €17 per person - it included a fair size starter, a great main, really Nicole dessert and a jug of house wine. Highly recommended!

Delicious food! El Fogón Sefardí is located in the Hotel Spa La Casa Mudéjar, the food is very well presented and tasty, and the portions are good. The service was a bit slow but the place was fully packed and they were very nice and attentive, advising on which were the best dishes to order. We ordered around 5 starters, 4 main dishes, a dessert platter, several baskets of bread, a bottle of wine and several rounds of beer, and it costed us around £36/pp, def worth it! :)

Nestled in the heart of El Escorial, Charolés Restaurante is a gem that embodies classic Spanish cuisine within its cozy and elegant setting, adorned with granite walls and wooden beams. Since 1977, it has been delighting both locals and visitors alike with its renowned cocido madrileño—a hearty dish served on select days by reservation.
Madrileño 100% here, born and raised, and have always come back to this place. Why? Because the service, quality of food, location and wine menu. I have NEVER been disappointed in this restaurant and every time I come to El Escorial I make sure I make a reservation here. Even though they don’t know who I am, they treat me always like a celebrity. And then it’s the menu, the quality of the food and the outstanding professionalism of the chef and the entire kitchen team. YES to Charoles, yes I will come back and don’t forget to get their wine card with the yearly rate for rioja wines. A perfect chest sheet I keep using over the past 15 years.

I have to highlight the warmth and positive attitude of the staff that work there. You will feel welcome and surely notice that you are in a timeless place that treats you well, with this high quality service of the good old days Cocido is supposed to be their main highlight, we went on a spring hot day and orderer fish and meat, and were happy with the quality. It's a great place to enjoy a quality lunch, I recommend it

Extremely Disappointing Dining Experience – Far Below Michelin Standards We chose this restaurant based on its Michelin recommendation for 2023/2024, expecting an above-average culinary experience. Unfortunately, the only thing that stood out was the exorbitant price. The food quality was severely lacking: - The fish was noticeably not fresh, and despite the heavy use of garlic, the unpleasant taste remained. - The duck was undercooked—when we raised this, the staff insisted it was their "style." However, unlike beef, undercooked duck with blood is simply unpalatable. - The oxtail was overwhelmingly salty, ruining what should have been a rich dish. - The veal was tough and hard to cut, as if it using 100 years old cow. What made the experience worse was the poor service. When we mentioned the fish wasn’t fresh, instead of acknowledging the issue, the staff defensively brought out another fish to "prove" their freshness—completely missing the point. A simple apology or gesture would have been far more professional. As tourists, we’ve had wonderful dining experiences across Spain—Madrid, Toledo, Bilbao, Córdoba, Granada, and Málaga all impressed us. This restaurant, however, was the only exception, leaving us deeply disappointed. I’m giving 1 star only because zero isn’t an option. Avoid this place if you expect Michelin-worthy quality.

Sensational, hearty Spanish fare in the heart of escorial. Would highly recommend the habit as con foie de oca (haricot beans with goose foie gras)

Probably the best "Cocido" in the world. And if you have never try any this is the place to do it for the first time. You need reservation as "Cocido" it is served only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The White Bacon from Verín is like Foie. The Carrot and the Cabbage are exceptional. The "chorizo", the "Cachelos", (gallegan potatoes), the beans from Fuentesauco and the Hen are of a superior cathegory. All the the rest components of this special "Cocido" taste more than good. Sorbet Pear at Marc Champs in the housemade tulip is stunning, the dessert muscat is amazing and house wine Cune Rioja 2005 Special Selection maintains the high standard.

After months in confinement, I was really looking forward to visiting this iconic restaurant in the historic area of El Escorial, about 30 minutes from Madrid. You would think that they too would extend themselves to shine after this long period of imposed rest. Nothing could have prepared me for the level of disappointment experienced. I made the reservation 2 days before and was informed that the day of my reservation was "cocido" day (a typical dish of garbanzo beans and several meats) and that if I would like to order it, I must reserve it in advance, which I did. Upon arriving, and even though the restaurant was completely empty, my guest and I were unceremoniously directed to a table at the furthest reach of the terrace, smack dab in the hot air flow and noise of an an air conditioning vent. I have lived in Spain for over 20 years and I politely asked in Spanish for another table and after some deliberation we were pointed to another table at the far opposite extreme of the outside terrace in an area that would be partially in the sun. After some insisting, they finally acquiesced to seat us at a table for 2 with a side table as the cocido service requires several side platters. The next surprise came when, even before taking our order, a surly waiter placed a Spanish flag on our table and when my guest asked why, he simply said "it is the policy of the management". Now I must say that I have nothing against the Spanish flag, in fact I am a Spanish citizen, but my guest is from another region of Spain and the act of simply planting a flag on our table after we were already seated did prompt the question of why not simply ask? Given that it was a record hot day, my guest simply wondered if the cocido dish was going to be his preferred choice, and was also somewhat concerned given he was scheduled to receive his second dose of Covid vaccine, but the maitre d' practically threatened us to order it "as we had reserved it in advance". My guest complied so as to not create a scene. Continuing with the food service, which was slow and without any empathy, we wondered how such a famous and well-located restaurant with few patrons had so fallen from grace and if the Charoles was simply coasting in its previous fame from another age. The cocido was undoubtedly good, but extremely over-abundant to the level of absurd waste. I suppose that it is a way of partially justifying the also excessive price which we didn't have any way of knowing in advance because it is not printed on the menu given to us. I promise fellow future visitors that throughout the meal I kept hoping that the previous events were a bad dream, and given my attention and deference to my out of town guest I was completely courteous throughout and did not "raise a stink". After my guest needed to leave for his vaccine appointment I waited alone for over 30 minutes with no waiter attention just to get my check and another 15 minutes to be able to pay. No "thank you for coming", no complimentary shot (as is customary in high-end Spanish restaurants), and frankly I left sad that what was once a paragon of good Spanish cuisine and attentive service was no longer. What is also no longer is the anonymity that bad customer service fortunately is shared so that it may be corrected by management and if not at least patrons should adjust their expectations.

Excellent food, amazing view and really hard working and effective crew of waiters! I highly recommend you make a reservation for a table on the terrace or by the window. The view is fantastic, probably also in the evening. The fare is mostly regional and well prepared.

The restaurant is in a great spot—you get to enjoy a lovely view while you eat, which really adds to the experience. The service was honestly fantastic. The staff was super friendly and incredibly attentive. It made the whole meal feel extra special. The food was interesting—traditional dishes with a modern twist. Everything tasted fresh and the ingredients were clearly high quality. The portions were just right—not too much, not too little. I have to admit, the food didn’t totally match my personal taste. For example, the sauce that came with the fish was a bit too sour for me. But that’s just a matter of preference. Overall, it was a really good experience.

Good food but nothing special, they have a tasting Manu with traditional food which can be nice. The service was fine, however we felt we were pushed to leave quickly and some waiters are a bit rude. The views from the restaurant are impressive, overlooking the nature and the old town.

The views from the dining room are lovely but the food, which is overpriced, was unfortunately, mediocre. The cochinillo was overcooked at too high a temperature. It came out dry and not as tender as it should be. The crema de setas soup, however was delicious. Service was efficient and friendly and the dining room is beautiful.

I almost fainted in the restaurant and the staff was very helpful. There was only two of them waiting tables and they stopped to help me and got be a cup of water and some sugar when they saw I wasn’t feeling well. As we had to leave early, they packed our dessert in a takeaway box. The food is also great but I wanted to shout out the service.
N — Google review
The restaurant is very nice, stunning view from the terrace, very nice design in the interior. The menu looks interesting. That's it. The quality of the dishes spans from "acceptable" to "highly disappointing". They propose a "cochinillo crujiente" (crispy roasted pig) that was pure rubber not crispy at all. We have been living in Spain for 5 years and this was by far the worst "cochinillo" ever eaten in Spain. The portion was 26 euros and my wife received a small piece with only bones. I am not exagerating saying she got probably 50 grams of meat plus the elastic rubbery skin. 50 grams for 26 euros... the rest were bones... what a deal!! I ordered a "Cordero relleno" (stuffed lamb) that was simply a meatloaf, like ordering a car and receiving a scooter. The meatloaf was not bad but was not what was described in the menu. My daughters took 2 "solomillo". Decent. Nothing more. We didn't even ordered any dessert cause we didn't want to leave a euro more to such a place. What a pity.

En la Parra is an upscale restaurant located in the historic center of Salamanca, offering a tasting menu of seasonal dishes. The restaurant is known for its cozy and elegant ambiance, featuring a glass wine cellar. With Chef Rocio Parra leading the kitchen and Alberto Rodriguez as the sommelier and head of the dining room, this establishment has earned a Michelin star since 2020.
If you're looking for a relaxed, unhurried experience with high-end food, then this restaurant is for you. We were impressed with the price to quality ratio but disappointed with a 5€ expresso coffee. That's just too expensive.

First of all, I really wanted to give 5 stars but if I'm reviewing a place depending on their credentials, this place actually deserves 3 even though we had a lovely evening. If it wasn't a Michelin restaurant, I would ignore a lot and would give a better review. Also Spanish is not my native, if I misunderstood anything, feel free to correct me. I chose this restaurant to enjoy with my 9-year old son as En La Parra has menu infantil. My son decided to go for Granito menu. He enjoyed this experience thoroughly. The starters have a flow and everything was distinct yet balanced. The bread is bought from another bakery, which is a big NO for me at a Michelin restaurant. It was good, the problem is not that. Once Parte del Todo started, I felt like the coherence slipped and plates became very generic. The taste was very good but it was missing that Wow factor. Desserts were good also but apart from the bombon and piñon, I don't remember the taste of the others. I will definitely try to recreate the piñon. Service was very good, it was my son's second experience in a Michelin guide restaurant and first proper Michelin star meal. The staff made us feel very comfortable. It was overall a good experience

En La Parra’s menu delivers a refined yet heartfelt take on traditional Iberian cuisine. Dishes like the bright gazpacho and delicately cured tongue reveal both respect for classic flavors and a modern hand in presentation. The pricing feels fair for the level of care that goes into each plate, and the calm, unhurried setting encourages you to slow down and truly enjoy the progression of courses. It’s an excellent pick if you want to taste familiar Spanish traditions reimagined with a contemporary elegance. Had a great recommendation from staff there for a bottle of white to accompany.

We love going to fine dining when we travel and in Spain we had phenomenal experience in such restaurants. Unfortunately, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE HERE. The price point was very high considering going for pretension over food quality...non of the dishes were unforgettable even though you could tell they were complicated to make and took alot of effort, it's just not that tasty and the small portions didn't help. (Literally one of the dishes is called drops of something I don't remember) some of it was really bad, sorry...but the first dish with the soup was absolutely bad. Anyway, it was an experience but not a great one. The staff didn't like us at all... We don't speak Spanish and they don't have English so communication was not fun, we saw they had better conversation with other guests and that's OK, I guess. Overall, the high price, the fact we were 10 minutes early and asked to wait outside, and several other things made me think that someone was paid for them to get a star...lol I wouldn't return, nither will my husband who is much more relaxed usually and I guess they would be ok with that.

Top notch, Michelin star restaurant that doesn't break the bank. Amazing location (better to walk to the restaurant) in Salamanca's old town. Menu is heavy on local delicacy meats. Not hugely innovative but rather solid and proven dishes executed to perfection. I liked that you are offered a complimentary toothbrush :) the round table by the window is perfect. There are tow menu options at around 60 eur per person without drinks. Go for the large menu if you are hungry.
Gam S — Google review
I’ll give 5 stars for the potential but 2 stars for today. I’ll explain it below: This restaurant is located in Salamanca. That means it’s situated in a "non-hub" location. That, per se, exemplifies effort and ambition, seen both in the venue's aesthetic and the quality of the ingredients. This speaks volumes about the potential on the horizon. And let's give applause to the female chef steering the ship in an industry that's not exactly known for its gender equality. Kudos to her for breaking through, persevering, and leading the way! So, I opted for their extensive Pizarra menu to fully immerse myself in Chef Rocio's vision. The price is quite fair, so I can only guess that people who complained about it aren’t really used to eating course menus or often eat fine dining. 1-My Highlights: The croquetas are delivered with a satisfying crunch and rich liquid interior, a real crowd-pleaser. I could live in these croquetas! The sandwich featuring Iberico and caviar? Pure luxe and a symphony in my mouth. The mejillón dish was a curiosity that paid off, and the mantequilla sobrasada was a pleasant curveball. The salad was what I expected in such a restaurant, audacious! Though these ingredients may not be everyone's cup of tea (myself included), the skill in their preparation won me over, and that’s why I hugely praise them. 2. Sweets: The desserts ended the meal on a high note. I loved every single one of them personally and bite-wise. A quick heads up: the chocolate creation might overwhelm those not in the sugar fan club. There wasn’t any alternative on the dish to balance it. 3 - I don’t drink much, so the referred drink selection for my 2 cups of alcohol was well-tuned. Thanks to the staff for choosing them for me. 4- Now, the real thing. The Letdowns: The rest of the dishes lacked the spark I was hoping for. It failed to insert itself and /or reach the crescendo promised by the menu. The term that springs to mind is 'blunt.' Even the ravioli, generally a failsafe, was missing that oomph. I was pretty sad at that point. I was like, “Oh my god, even the ravioli is blunt.” Regrettably, I can only say that most dishes missed the punch, a taste adventure, and worse of all… it missed… taste. It’s terrible to say that, but most of them were tasteless. In summary, the experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. I soared, I dipped, but I'm optimistic about where we'll end up. Chef Rocio, you've got the talent, and better, you've got the staff - which I know is hard to train. Just ensure the rest of the menu lives up to its promising start. It’s as if you were afraid to dare / A constipated potential (funny to say, but it feels like that 🫠). Go and explode our tongues! Make people happy, angry, and confused when eating your dishes. Make people feel and scream “WOW”. You have everything for that! I'll certainly be back to see how the story unfolds. Good luck and success! 👍⭐️ An update before I forget: Your colleague who presented the mantequilla is a gem you'll want to hang onto. He brings a level of enthusiasm and flair that could elevate your already solid service. His vibe is infectious; he's the kind of energy everyone wants to be around when dining out. In just a few words, he gave all the essential info needed to fully enjoy and discover what you wanted to present . This guy is a keeper; he knows how to make an experience memorable. Reward and look after him, because he's a real asset to your team! :)

If you are in Salamanca you definitely have to visit. I just found by lucky chance while exploring, great selection of dishes for lunch, 10 sounded a lot but really well balanced. I never normally go for the wine pairing but here was great, 100 times more generous than the few drops they give you in Asia. Go before it gets it’s first star

If you want to try the typical for León region stew made of different meats, bacon, black pudding, chickpeas, cabbage and their soup, this is your place. Though its name is misleading (it relates to an Italian restaurant), they serve a rich and excellent stew. It is their only dish, actually. No doubt we will ask at the end for a takeaway box... 😀

This lovely place is right outside of the busy city centre, the service is spot on and the waitresses are lovely. The food is simply amazing, we've been in Spain for 7 nights and it's been our best dinner so far. Do not miss the cecina de vaca, the tortilla and the mollejas, after dinner the house offers irresistible homemade liquor with small ice creams. In my opinion absolutely unmissable!

If you are staying in Leon, you have to visit this place. Their menu del dia was off the chart. Especially their 'Morcilla' was THE BEST morcilla I ever had in whole Spain trip. Amount of food you will get is going to be blow your mind. I will re visit Leon just because of this place.

Come hungry and eat the local cocido(stew). There is only one menu option with wine or drinks. The dishes come one after another but you can have all of them on the table. The service is great and desserts are delicious too. You might have to book the table in advance since it is a place frequented by locals

It is a very discreet restaurant, but the quality and quantity of the food is amazing. 20€ is the prize for the only meal they serve: Cocido!!! It is worthwhile. Besides, the service it is excellent!!! Kudos!!!

El Figón de Ismael, a family-owned gem since 1849, is a must-visit when exploring the picturesque streets of Sepulveda. This charming restaurant boasts a rustic ambiance with its stone exterior and wooden beams, creating an inviting atmosphere that reflects traditional Castilian dining. Renowned for its succulent roasted suckling lamb cooked in a wood-burning oven, it promises an authentic culinary experience that will delight your taste buds.
A great treat! We had the lunch special that included the suckling lamb- very well prepared! The fresh salad was amazing, the lamb incredible, the dessert wow! Also served sone excellent digestive ( tasted sonething like Baileys). Service was very good. Mostly locals and well worth the drive. The scenic town was well worth the walk after to burn off a few calories. If you have the time snd want to partake in a wood fire oven prepared suckling lamb… go to this place! No regrets! Excellent value.

I had the opportunity to have lunch at “El Figón de Ismael” in Sepulveda. Nestled in the heart of Sepúlveda, the restaurant offers good food in an inviting rustic atmosphere that captures the essence of traditional Spanish dining. We had the “lechazo” (roast lamb) perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. The four stars are because the final price was slightly above the average compared to a few other places that we previously checked, and the service could be significantly better.
Miguel O — Google review
Lovely, authentic restaurant with friendly and helpful staff, hidden in the downtown of Sepulveda. Absolutely delicious lamb with fresh salad and amazing local pastries (we had ponche segoviano & cheesecake) plus a nice (probably home made) creamy liqueur after the meal - all deserve our highest appreciation and 5 stars!

Delicious roasted lamb (and suckling pig, but this region is known for its lamb.) My husband was a bit disappointed they didn't have patatas panaderas.
Cristina G — Google review
We went to this restaurant based on a search we did on google for restaurants in the area. This town is known for their roasted lamb and pig, and we wanted to try them. However, we chose this particular restaurant because it had a more complete menu that offered more choices than just roasted lamb and pig. We called and asked if they offered the additional menu dishes coz many of the restaurants in the area only served the lamb and pig, and they said yes. So we went ahead and made a reservation. To our dismay, when we arrived, they told us that on weekends they only served the roasted lamb and pig. At that point we would have left the restaurant simply on principle since they mislead us. However, at lunch time in the peak of holiday season, you could not find another place to eat last minute. We ordered the roasted lamb, and it was delicious. The service was also very good, and they were very attentive to us, perhaps coz they knew they had mislead us into coming there in the first place. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, and the bathrooms were very clean. So after our initial disappointment, we did enjoy our lunch here. However beware, they only serve Lamb and Pig on weekends, and if you want any other dish on the menu, you have to preorder it by phone.

By far the best ponche segoviano (Segovia's local speciality, layered marzipan cake), the owner pretty much insisted we had to try theirs and he was absolutely correct as it was the best we had on our trip around Segovia. Excellent service!

Nestled in the heart of Cuenca, La Ponderosa is a beloved deli-bar that exudes rustic charm and has become a culinary landmark over its four decades of existence. Known for its warm, family-friendly atmosphere, this establishment is a favorite among both locals and travelers seeking high-quality cuisine without any pretentiousness. The menu boasts an impressive array of traditional dishes, but it's highly recommended to follow the owner's suggestions to truly savor the best offerings tailored to your taste.
Fenomenal ! Food, atmosphere, service - all are beyond expectations. We went there to eat seasonal porcini - Boletus Follis , and enjoyed the mushrooms so much so that repeated our order … The service is extraordinary- you get served within seconds … Also, try the tomatoes from their own garden - absolutely delicious, we ordered the double portion. The ambiance is an authentic Spanish tavern with lots of people and no seats, but it’s worth every your effort . We will definitely come back , though it’s quite a long trip.

Parrilla Louzao is a cozy and traditional restaurant in Castilla y Leon, known for its grilled meats cooked over hot coals, including the famous lechazo asado - grilled lamb. The menu also features braised vegetables like artichokes, peppers, and asparagus, along with an array of tapas bites. Visitors can expect high-quality products typical of the region and generous portions of very tasty meat accompanied by good Leonese wines.
I just enjoyed one of the best grilled steaks of my life at this tucked away place… small dinning room is understated but the food was overstated, delicious. The aged Leones beef was absolutely delectable, perfect temperature and rich in marbled flavor and texture, cooked on a open wood burning grill. I had forgotten how incredible a meal of beef could be. I said a prayer for the cow who gave their life for my nourishment, what a notable experience on my visit to Spain from across the ocean.

Restaurante Gabi García in Valladolid offers a unique blend of Spanish cuisine with an Asian twist, served in a contemporary dining room with street tables. The chef takes the time to explain the menu and makes recommendations in English, ensuring a personalized experience for each guest. The menu features salads, fish, and meats cooked with care, along with imaginative daily specials. Guests praise the consistent quality of the food and personalized service provided by Chef Gabi himself.
We had an amazing lunch at Gabi Garcia. Firstly the chef took the time to explain the menu and make recommendations for us in English. Both the chef and young waiter made recommendations for our meal that were spot on. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Thankyou for letting us Aussies sit down early today. Your patience and amazing food was greatly appreciated.

An unforgettable seafood experience in Valladolid What truly makes this restaurant special is the chef — not only an outstanding professional in the kitchen, but also a warm and genuine presence in the dining room. He personally greeted us, made us feel welcome, and took the time to explain each dish and wine pairing with passion and care. The service was equally excellent. The waitress was attentive and friendly, contributing to a flawless dining experience. We started with a carpaccio of umbrina — fresh, delicate, and perfectly seasoned. The sardines were another highlight: simple yet bursting with flavor. The tuna was cooked to perfection — tender, juicy, and full of character. The wine, recommended by the chef himself, complemented the meal beautifully. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, dessert arrived: a crisp chocolate basket filled with silky mango mousse, topped with crushed pistachios — a refined, creative, and delicious ending to the meal. We finished with a lovely glass of grappa. The restaurant is cozy and stylish — not large, but very charming and welcoming. I strongly recommend this place to all Italians visiting Valladolid: don’t just focus on the restaurants in the city center. Sometimes the real gems are hidden in the outskirts — and this is certainly one of the best places we’ve ever eaten at.

Simply the best dining experience I’ve had in the last year. The exquisite waiters bring one dish at a time. We started with a complimentary starter of Patatas Revolconas, typical of the Avila area, then had Jamón de Bellota, cut just before being served, Queso Curado which was accompanied by Quince (Membrillo) and a gorgeous Tuna salad. Each dish was brought separately and we were allowed to enjoy it before the next one was served. I can’t stress enough how much better this makes the dining experience. We then had Chuletón de Carne Roja (my husband and sons) and Stuffed Peppers (me). The desserts were awesome as well. Please don’t miss out on this!

Creperie
French restaurant
This crêperie is a popular spot for locals to visit, and it's similar to dining in Brittany - with local beers (I understand that here it can be difficult to find) and very delicious food. The food is rich and well prepared, so you'll enjoy every bite.
I love this place: the cosiness, the couple who work there and the food. If you're hungry, this is your restaurant, although sometimes I've just been for a salad and galette. The galettes are fab, the meat generous and the potato dauphinoise is to die for. Even the sauces they serve with the meat are delicious! But the pièce(s) de résistance (for me at least) are the desserts. The tarte tatin, clafoutis, the crêpe with caramel (Breton) etc etc are made and presented with such care. After too many offerings elsewhere of arroz con leche, natillas and the now ubiquitous cheesecake, they make a nice change.
Georgina L — Google review
Very nice place to enjoy your own cooked meat in the stone. The Galettes are also great and satisfying. The best without any doubt is the knowledge, explanation and great service. Book in advance since the place is rather small and it is often full.

It's a popular spot in the trendy Chinchibarra neighborhood, attracting locals, university students, and tourists alike. The restaurant recently underwent a transformation to return to its roots of offering traditional Spanish tapas and grilled dishes with a street-style twist.
What a treat! We tried the chef's tasting menu, and every course was a taste sensation. The staff were wonderful, making sure everything was well presented, making excellent recommendations, and working hard while keeping a relaxing atmosphere. Congratulations on an excellent menu and service. Our favourites were the mussels and the iberico pork. The house wines are well chosen to balance the flavours. It was one of the best meals we've ever had. Thank you, and we wish you a very successful 2025.

Excellent restaurant in Salamanca, everything I tried was nothing less than espectacular. A MUST try is the prawn & octopus chupito, the cod buñuelo, the pork chops, everything here is guaranteed to be out of this world. The service is top notch as well. Definitely one of the best restaurants I have been to. Keep it up!

This was truly excellent. A diverse menu with dishes for all dietary requirements, each perfected to an incredibly high standard. The atmosphere was brilliant, not too loud, just the right volume. The staff were all lovely, and I was very grateful for them accommodating us by speaking to me and my family in both English and Spanish (however I must say I was pleased I was able to speak a good amount of Spanish and come up with some decent replies!). The food is very quick to come out. There wasn’t a single empty table in the place and they still manage to keep on top of things really well. Highlights for me were the Pork Belly, sirloin, and The truffled duck egg. We also had pretty much everything pork and it was all truly incredible. I think my favourite dishes were the pork dishes. Really highly recommend.
Charlie K — Google review
We are on an escorted tour with Collette Tours and our tour manager Philip suggested this place. We arrived for dinner but the place was full with reservation, so I made reservations for the next night. We were seated right next to the kitchen. It was fun watching the chefs prepare the dishes. We felt like we were watching Top Chef. Great atmosphere. We had a variety of tapas, all excellent. We had the Pork skewer marinade Moorish style, the smoked Iberian top shoulder pastrami bun, grilled pork belly roll, the lamb "pincho" oaxaca, and white wine. The most interesting item was the lamb "pincho". We were told to eat it from the bottom. The top had a chocolate syrup. It was a combination of savory and sweet. We really liked it! I really wanted to try the braised scallop, but was pretty full by then. In fact, we gave some of the pork skewer to our friends who were at the next table. For tapas, it's on the pricey side, but the taste, quality, culinary experience and presentation outweighed the prices. The staff was friendly and helpful when we were looking through the menu. If we ever get back to Salamanca, I would definitely dine here again.
Monica P — Google review
Excellent place to get delicious tapas. Lots of wine options and tasty food offerings. I would recommend getting a reservation. I managed to get a seat as I arrived early, but I saw a number of people get turned away. It was a lively venue, with good vibes. They had some English speaking staff and English menus for people like me with poor Spanish skills, but the majority of the patrons were Spanish. It clearly enjoys popularity with locals and travellers alike. I can definitely recommend it.
D C — Google review
Had a delicious dinner here last night. Every member of the team there was fantastic. They were all very kind, attentive, and lovely and took time to explain the vegetarian options on the menu as well as to tell me about the desserts. I had the scallops (10/10, citrusy and the oil was delicious as well, dip your bread in it), patatas bravas (9/10, quite good, hugeee portion), the avocados (20/10, out of this world, would go back only to have this, so flavorful and fresh), tinto de verano (10/10 lovely), and for dessert, the cheesecake (10/10, one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had, so creamy and loved the flaky crust as well). Can highly recommend to vegetarians (but not vegans). Oh, and whoever was in charge of music last night, loved it! It was all 90s and 2000s hits and your girl enjoyed that thoroughly. Remember to reserve in advance. Thank you team 😊

If you are American lookin for wings and ribs you will not be surprised that this is not authentic American style at all rather very much to par with the style wings and ribs you will find in Spain. Also misleading to call them “buffalo” wings when the buffalo sauce does not come close to the real deal. Good customer service and a good selection of microbrew beers which is why the three stars.
Lior S — Google review
I specifically travelled past many restaurants and cafes to come here. Two reasons: 1. They accommodate for gluten free. 2. I just had to meet the chef who can so adeptly address a mild complaint on Google! Much kudos not only for that but also for damn good food at a good price.

Great ribs & wings We visited the Pit because we just wanted a change from tapas. It's hidden in a residencial area, a 10 minute stroll out of the old city. The ribs and wings were excellent and we really liked the sauces we chose - spicy BBQ sauce for the ribs, and buffalo sauce and jalapeno sauce for the wings. The sauces were quite spicy, not too sweet and appeared to be house made. We didn't like the coleslaw very much though - it was quite acidic rather than creamy.
Suzie L — Google review
We visited The Pit whilst staying in the San Mames area of the city after reading great reviews. This place lived up to expectations in every way. We went on Friday evening just after 9:00 pm and the place was reasonably busy but we were shown to a table without waiting. The waiter (owner?) was very helpful explaining both the food and drinks menu, we are English with little Spanish. I had ribs in the piccante sauce, spicy without being too hot and the ribs were perfectly succulent and very meaty. My partner had wings in honey sauce and they were equally good. The drinks were excellent choices, a locally brewed artisan beer for me and a crisp verdejo wine for Lynn. A great way to end a fabulous two day stay in this great city. If you are visiting Leon and want something a little different then look this place up, you will not be disappointed

This review is long overdue. This family-run restaurant was one of the most amazing culinary experiences we have ever had. The restaurant sits in a very nice area just outside of the Old Town. The atmosphere has the feeling of being in someone’s home. The father and son make you welcome as if you were in their home. When we arrived it just opened and we were the only people there which was the case throughout our entire meal, that alone made it very special. The father didn’t speak a lick of English and at first, seemed quite irritated with our lack of Spanish and our use of the google translator but slowly and reluctantly gave in. He guided us through the menu and was so sweet. We came for the suckling pig, we had suckling pig from a Michelin Star restaurant in Lisbon so the bar was set high. We started with fresh bread and salad and a wonderful bottle of wine that he recommended. Then he served us the most incredible suckling pig, omg. He served it in a piping hot skillet, he then took a plate and pushed down gently on the pork belly and used it to break apart the meat. It was so tender it just came apart. It had a perfectly seared skin and was seasoned superbly too, it blew away the Michelin star restaurant. After dinner, his son came out and chatted with us. He spoke English and was a delightful young man, I think my wife had a crush on him. He talked to us for a while and brought us after dinner shots in iced shot glasses, I wish I could remember what he served us. If you read this I would love to know you can write me at glennhrobins @ gmail. com. When we left there was another local couple sitting at the bar and the father was serving them. I had written this beautiful thank you on the translator ready to playback to him as we left. My wife and I could tell he was touched, which touched us and was a magical ending to an amazing evening. If you are ever in Leon, Spain do not miss the opportunity to experience this marvelous restaurant. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would!!

ConSentido is a chic restaurant founded by chef Carlos Hernandez del Rio, who honed his skills in renowned kitchens before returning to his roots. The restaurant offers upscale cuisine featuring the best local ingredients and wines from the region, with a touch of French influence. Dishes include griddled fresh artichokes with bearnaise and stewed chickpeas with sherry and pork. The bright dining room boasts checkerboard tile floors and designer furniture.
Spectacular food, wine, and ambiance. Highly recommend the tasting menu with wine pairing. Just outside of Plaza Mayor and much better than any restaurant inside the Plaza.

Exceptional, all the plates hit the mark, showcasing the very best of the Salamancan terroir! Creative twists of local classics and skillful inventions by the chef, we had a lovely dinner. Expert service and wine advice, muchisimas gracias to the ConSentindo team : )
Wass H — Google review
I really don’t like leaving ‘negative’ reviews, but we haven’t been able to get this place out of our minds - it was a very expensive and disappointing experience. Some of the dishes are just outrageously priced, such as a single spear of asparagus for 8 euro. (You read that correctly - one spear!) Also a tiny, tiny bowl of chard for the same price. To make things worse, we thought they must have split each of these dishes across two plates, so that we could enjoy them a compartir, but in fact we had been charged for two serves of each! It was just crazy. The service was lovely (even though our kind waiter spilled our wine, dropped our squab on the serving bench whilst carving it and knocked my glasses onto the floor!). The food was fine, but no better than any of the lovely local restaurants Salamanca offers. We just didn’t understand this place.

My husband and I share a birthday and we celebrated at ConSentido. The service, value, food, everything was incredible. We ordered the tasting menu. Definitely do that the first time you go. Yes, it was expensive but not for the level of food or compared to similar restaurants in the US.
Evelyn O — Google review
Tasting menu was very good. We particularly liked how much of it was from Salamanca and the surrounding area, and how several courses used different parts of the same animal.
Brendan L — Google review
Haute cuisine with traditional roots and local produce. You can either choose the tasting menu or order individual dishes. We had the tasting menu (€70 per person), which consists of 18 "snacks" and up to 4 optional add-ons. Every single dish was great. Our favorites were the chorizo éclaire, the mushroom broth, the garlic soup and the grilled potato with Iberian carbonara (the last one was an optional add-on for €10 per person). The cuisine is creative and elaborate, yet firmly rooted in the local gastronomy—a perfect blend of tradition and experimentation. Despite its two Soles Repsol, the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed.

Prada a Tope is a must-visit restaurant in Spain, offering an authentic and delightful dining experience. The ambiance exudes a medieval charm, adding to the overall appeal of the place. The portions are generous, with dishes like Botillo estilo Cacabelos being particularly noteworthy for its size and interesting flavors. The wine selection from their own winery is biodynamic and pairs well with the delectable food.
Absolutely best lunch in recent memory! Friendly and attentive host, made us feel at home, with heartfelt traditional dishes just as your grandma would have had you eat! Delicious, generous and with local produce! Wonderful interior and atmosphere.. even the home brew coffee was magical We have a must stop place from now on in León! Thank you!

We tried “Botillo estilo Cacabelos” very interesting dish - this plate is big enough, I think for 3 persons. Wine 🍷 from the own winery , biodynamic - good. In the end you can try liquor like Baileys - sweet and digestive. The owner is super friendly 😉. It’s better to have lunch not dinner.

This was probably one of the top 3 local restaurants we have tried in all 5 cities in Spain! Especially the tortilla was extremely delicious! The quantity was so big even by American standards, my husband and I wanted to order 3 dishes (by our experience ordering in other local restaurants), the friendly waitress kindly reminded us the portion of each dish😄 glad we listened to her suggestion and food recommendations! We ended up packed the 2/3 of the second dish to go! Supreme service and food!

This restaurant is definitely for those who want to feel some medieval times vibe ahah The inside is by itself is interesting to inspect and the food is even better. This place is a go to if you wish to try a tortilla guisada, a traditional dish of the region. It's so good here! And very filling. The other dish we've tried was a botillo, but I didn't find it being very special to be honest, it's just a bunch of food that's quite simple in it's taste. Prices are average (around 15€ a plate), but the servings are big and can potentially serve two. Absolutely loved the lady who served us, she was super friendly and kind!

Review: Prada a Tope – A Rustic Gem in the Heart of León Tucked inside the winding stone streets of León’s historic quarter, Prada a Tope doesn’t scream for attention—it doesn’t have to. This is the kind of place you stumble upon and remember forever. Equal parts rustic charm and gastronomic poetry, it’s a restaurant that invites you in like an old friend and serves you food that makes you wonder why we ever complicated cuisine in the first place. Let’s start with the atmosphere: stone walls, wooden beams, and that warm, lived-in Spanish glow that money can’t buy. It feels timeless. You don’t just sit down at Prada a Tope—you settle in. The pace is unhurried, the staff genuinely welcoming, and there’s an undeniable sense that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Now, the food. Simple? Yes. But in the same way a Steinway is “just” a piano. Take the seasonal salad—a vibrant assembly of ripe tomatoes, briny olives, and sweet red peppers. Each ingredient speaks for itself, and yet together they sing. It’s the kind of dish that reminds you how good vegetables can be when treated with respect. The tortilla with red peppers? A revelation. Silky, just-runny egg meets the slow sweetness of roasted peppers in a combination that’s both comforting and quietly transcendent. It’s the kind of thing you finish reluctantly, trying to make the last bite last a little longer. And just when you think the experience is over, a gracious surprise: coffee on the house. But not just any coffee—a blend so smooth and fragrant it could hold its own in Brooklyn’s finest cafés. It’s a small gesture, but it speaks volumes about the generosity of the place. Prada a Tope isn’t trying to impress anyone—it doesn’t have to. It’s honest food, from the heart, in a space that feels like home. In a world full of overhyped tasting menus and sterile white tablecloths, this little León treasure is a reminder of what hospitality really means. 5 stars. Eat here. Then tell everyone you know—after you’ve made your next reservation.

Bowie's Salamanca is a popular spot known for its delicious burgers and special menu offerings. Visitors rave about the nachos with fresh vegetables and the friendly staff, particularly mentioning Paola's exceptional service. While some find the prices a bit steep, many are impressed by the quality of food and overall dining experience at Bowie's Salamanca.
We're big meat eaters from Australia and have to say, the burgers we were served here at Bowies were up there with the best we've had. We tried the smoked 2.0 and the tasty burger and the beef patties were on point, cooked perfectly, juicy and full of flavour. Both came with fries which were a different shape than usual for us but cooked and seasoned deliciously. We were served by Silvia who was super friendly, helpful and enthusiastic which made it easy to deal with our lack of Spanish vocabulary. Defs worth checking out when your in Salamanca.

Came out to Bowie's as we wanted something a bit different in Salamanca. Food turned out to be very good, we had the tacos and quesadillas as well as the baked cookie and red velvet cookie for dessert! The restaurant looked really nice and clean and we had a great time dining there. Our waiter was beyond amazing, I didn't get his name unfortunately. We don't really know Spanish but he had very good English which made it easy to communicate but also offered us complimentary drinks for our honeymoon, if I could I'd give 6 stars for Service. Thank you very much and we'd definitely come back next time we're in Salamanca!

Please, don't visit this place. The waiters are extremely rude. The owner is even worse. You won't be able to pay with credit card nor split the bill among the guests. An absolute travel to the past...in the bad sense. Plus, food was so greasy and unhealthy! Everything is cooked in the same pan...and oil (fish, meat...no matter what). Don't lose your time and money in this place. Better go to L'Antigua, just a few meters from there. Lamentable el trato del dueño y de los camareros. The most standout thing about this restaurant is the presentation. The service with the food provides a wonderful experience. I can't say that I enjoyed every single item but that's bound to happen with adventurous foods with a plethora of plates. The price is appropriate for what you get, maybe even on the cheaper side. Amazing food!! Highly recommend the sirloin steak. It was the most tender steak my husband ever had. Though the maragato stew is a local favorite I personally couldn’t eat the pig ear, pig snout, or pig feet ( I tried), so there wasn’t much left to truly eat. Here you eat backwards. Start with main course, then cabbage with chickpeas, then soup. Desert is last. Wonderful location, atmosphere and staff.

(Translated by Google) Very good menu, great variety and very elaborate. First I talk about the pros and then what I would change. The golden food, entrecote and venison loin were very good with the right amount, perfect presence and very good flavor. I would only change or try to improve 3 little things, 1 the portion of cured meat is a little small for its cost, I have family in Leon and in this case I say that it is a little excessive to be typical with putting a small amount. 2 I wanted to order the bluefin tuna but they told me that it is not in season, the truth is that it is very bad not to put the season of when you can order it since in my case I am honest, I sat down in this restaurant only for this dish that there was no other And they didn't tell me the season so it makes me think that they could have it on the menu just because it tastes good but I can never eat it. 3 the people asking unfortunately smell like a dead dog and there was one every two seconds bothering you, this makes you choke on your food because of its nauseating smell as soon as they get closer, they should be more attentive to expelling or keeping these people away.

I can only give five stars. Would give more if I could. The staff makes quite a difference. The atmosphere is great, excellent ambiance. It was my birthday and even Frida went to the party. We met Mayara and Helena, both great hostesses. Professional, polite, always with a smile kn their faces. They are quite lucky to have them. I can only thank you for your kindnessm. Oh yes! The food was really great, prices are fair for the service you have.

It was absolutely amazing - the service was very thoughtful and kind, the food was out of this world, and Frida was so cute! I would definitely recommend and I will most definitely return again.

Could not ask for a better lunchtime experience. We were greeted and helped by two extremely friendly servers; one of who generously spoke English to us. The menu has an English translation, as well. There are plenty of gluten free food and beer options, as well as vegan and vegetarian options all clearly marked. As a fun kicker, they have a robot waitress named Frida

Great inclusive place with many options for diabetics (carb count per dish), celiacs and lactose intolerants among others. Highly recommended! The place is also recommended by the local celiac association. I only missed sodium-free options for those suffering hypertension (or preventing it!), hopefully they will include this suggestion in future menus. I would also like to encourage the establishment to expand to other regions (such as Murcia). I can’t wait to visit again :)

VEGAN AND GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS I would've done more pictures of the food we ordered but it was so tasty and delicious that I had time for this two only. Marvelous treat, wide options of beer from which I chose that German Dunkel. Garlic bread as a starter I decided to have a Breton Crêpe. If you ever go to Valladolid and this place included, give it a try. My girlfriend is vegetarian but we decided to try the vegan ice-creams and all four flavours: Choco-Coffe, peanut butter, hazelnut and pistachio. I was reticent but those turned out to be far better than great. This place own every star for even the treat was the finest.

Great restaurant in the city centre. The food we had was tasty, and well presented, and reasonably priced. Despite us not speaking Spanish, we managed well, and the staff were fun and helpful. We had such a laugh with Frida, their robotic waitress! Their desert Crepes were fabulous!

I went to this restaurant last night with a friend and we were pretty surprised by how beautiful the actual restaurant is, it’s a stunning place! The menu isn’t very expensive but it’s also not cheap. I think it’s reasonably priced and the waiters were very nice! They take your coat at the door which is very kind and thoughtful! The food was tasty, it was my first time here and my first time trying “French food” apparently it wasn’t very authentic (according to my friend) but it was yummy and I have friends who’ve gone here before too and they all have raved about it. They have a vegan and vegetarian menu which is excellent if you’re vegan or vegetarian! I’d definitely recommend coming here to see if you like it, it’s a different experience if you’re looking to try a different cuisine. Also, they wrote a very sweet message on our receipt!

The food was OK but not good, not Wow. The funny thing is they mention the Carbs for every dish (you have to multiply by 10). Service was very, very difficult. When I ordered a sparkling water with a little sqeezed lemon, it was impossible. I changed the order to sparkling water with lemon and a few lemon slices, so I could squeeze the lemon slices in the glass. It was possible. Another funny thing is the serving robot. Don't get in her way. Her name is Frida. Prices are reasonable.

Nestled in the heart of Segovia, El Sitio is a charming restaurant that perfectly captures the essence of regional cuisine. With its inviting atmosphere featuring wood-beamed ceilings, this venue offers a delightful dining experience just steps away from the vibrant Plaza Mayor and the majestic Cathedral. The establishment boasts both a lively bar on the ground floor and an upstairs restaurant, making it an ideal spot for any occasion. El Sitio prides itself on using high-quality ingredients to create traditional dishes at reasonable prices.
We were finally able to get here for lunch on a Sunday and it was worth the wait! We had the mixed salad, ham croquettes, and pork in grandma's clay pot. With drinks for two our total was less than 40 euros! Love the atmosphere and the service was friendly and efficient. Note that the kitchen is only open from 1200 to 1630 and 2000 to 2330, so plan accordingly. This place is very popular with the locals and was completely full and spilling into the street when we left at about 1400.

I’m amazed by the perfect flavor of the famous cochinillo. The skin separates from the fat, feeling crunchy and tenderness in one bite. The service is wonderful. The waiters are well dressed like gentlemen and offer attentive service. Although I sit by the table for lunch, I love the vibes in the bar area at noon time. Everyone is standing there, chatting and drinking beer. So cool!

El Sitio is the kind of restaurant that has not changed in 60 years. They serve the same great suckling pig. The service is elegant and professional like it was 60 years ago. And because of the high level of quality execution, the price offers great value. We drove to Segovia to eat at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Highly recommended. Please don’t change, we want to come back to eat the same thing. P.S.: if this review was useful to you, please leave a quick ❤️, thanks 🙏

What a find. We were really well looked after by Xavier who had offered to speak English but when I joked that I had been rehearsing my Spanish he spoke only in Spanish and helped me out when I got stuck. When we said we liked to share our main courses he asked the chef to serve us a fish course on two plates and then a meat course on two plates, very civilised. He also advised with the desserts, when we inadvertently ordered two very similar ones he recommended choosing an alternative to provide variety. The food itself was absolutely delicious. We had the seabass in a garlic and tomato sauce, then veal escalope with chips. For dessert we had the segovian speciality, a cake with custard, and a most amazing "fig cake" which was like homemade ice-cream with figs and cream. Everything beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. All the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend!

We walked in without a reservation but they found us a lovely table in their upstairs restaurant. The waiters were very friendly and we had the suckling pig, wonderful. Would highly recommend. Surrounded by locals, who were all very nice to us, even tho we only had tourist Spanish.

Conchillas and judiciones were the foods I wanted to try when in Segovia. That’s what I found at El Sitio. Judiciones at $8 were 5 stars but the conchillas at $28 were 4 stars because they didn’t have any seasoning and some parts were dry. Some servers were attentive and would ask if I was finished with my dish but some were not attentive aka they would dust off their dish cloth in front of my table. The music was American sad pop that’s quite unfitting for the ambiance. It is recommended to find a different restaurant that has better pricing if you are not looking to spend $50 for a meal.

Waiters didn’t see us at first but were more attentive and made up for it once they realized we were new guests. They also gave us broth from the Cochinillo they serve to warm us up, a nice gesture. We ordered: - Croquetas (underwhelming, I’ve had better) - salpicón (very good) - chorizo and potato (my favorite) - tortilla Coffee was very good here as well! I’m sure the non tapas menu is even better.

Best Lamb I have ever had! Full of flavor, rich, tender, great! The dinner made my day. Olive oil they served was also great. I enjoy their olives as well, original, simple, but delicious. Sangria was a bit sweet to me but went well with lamb. The dessert was also good. Overall a great place for amazing food. The staff was kind and gave me a souvenir before I left. Overall, poor experience and not worth of visiting. Service is below average and waiters are pretentious. Food is not fantastic as well. My Turbot was tasteless and Cod was not cooked enough... The coulant was completely wrong.

Meh not their fault, but the whole suckling pig thing Segovia has is kinda a tourist trap. Is mostly dry and tasteless, maybe the skin is the only good part, then is like a chicken without seasoning, bland and dry, a waste of a piglet. Also beware everything is sold separately, like the bread they don't even ask you if you want it and they charge it 2 euros, then the side of the piglet ofc is not included and is mad expensive. Just a thing for "guiris" and they are making bank out of it!

Very nice restaurant in a small special town. They only serve the specialty of the area which is cocido Maragato. All in all, an excellent dining experience.

Get there early as they run out of food. Generally the food was fine.
Beth C — Google review
Don’t go. The best advice you’ll get today. They try to “innovate” cocido and only ruin it: scarce meat (no lacón), dry morcilla and chorizo covered with mojo picón to hide it, and an overly salty soup served at the end (which makes no sense). The place is filled with photos of the owners (sugar include), who seem more important than the food itself. And the treatment depends on how much they think they can get out of you: for us, it was awful. Rude, unfriendly, and overpriced (over €50 for what elsewhere costs €20). On top of that, they charged for bottled water without warning, and parking is far away. The only redeeming part: their waitress Alba, who was kind and professional.
Vivi E — Google review
Great place, super clean and comfortable. The hotel and rooms have the same style as the town, new and fresh. The bathroom and towels are super clean and the shower have a nice water pressure. The only down side is the check in time, u have to be there before 6 pm, if not u will be left on the street. 2 couples arrived after 6 and couldn't check in, it was very up setting for them. Also there is nothing open there at night or in the morning, beside the very simple coffee and little muffins include with the room. The place deserve a 5 start but the management deserve a 1 start, in a place where time has stop can't rush u to arrive in a rush, they need to up grade their system to offer a better service

Terrible service and bland food. Nothing, nothing special. The lady was rude to answer with wild gesticulations when a non-meat-eater try to order different from, by the way, extremely boring "cocido maragato". As a vegetarian (we called in advance to inform them of my choice), i felt humiliated when they gave me a socalled salad, lettuce and some olives. That was it! I will never ever return. What a way of ruining a day for a group of friends. Needless to say what this means for this little village's reputation!!

COCIDO FOR EVER You make your reservation in advance and you will have best in class cocido maragato. 3 courses, first meats, thereafter vegetables an the soup to finish. And sweets. This is the only choice, no fish nor salads nor meat, just the cocido maragato. And you know what? There is no need, this is the best choice in the most beautiful mediaeval town. Really pays off visiting. And of course you will be 20 minutes away from the most beautiful cathedral in Spain and one of the most in Europe

It was ok. The portions are way too big and you’re stuck getting a full menu for 40€. The best was the dessert: the cheesecake and thin apple tart were to die for. I don’t recommend the tiramisu however. We left half of our food cause it was too much and you couldn’t share cause everyone had to order a menu instead of being able to choose dishes and share. The quality of the food is average. My fish was chewy and had too many cooked carrots. Odd pairing for fish…

Nestled in the heart of Ávila, Restaurante Siglodoce is a culinary gem housed within a stunning 12th-century stone building. This charming eatery not only offers a delightful glimpse into history with its exposed brick and wooden beams but also serves up traditional Abulense cuisine that will tantalize your taste buds. Signature dishes include the renowned chuleton de Ávila, comforting patatas revolconas, and hearty sopa castellana, all crafted from fresh local ingredients.
We had a really nice experience with this restaurant and it’s all kudos to Jony (Jonathan). We decided to spend our last day in Madrid in Avila. We were there from 9:30 to 13:30 so obviously we don’t have that much time to do everything on a relaxed pace. The plan was to just see the walls, visit the cathedral, try the chuleton and roam around. Maybe go to Mirador cuatros potes if we still have time. 12noon came, I saw this restaurant online and since they open at 12, we went inside and asked if there’s reservation needed and they said no. Jony was entertaining us and specifically told him we were in a hurry and we were a little full still as we had just ate in a nearby cafe. He suggested the chicken salad and the chuleton for us to share because the portions are big enough to satisfy us. We asked him for some ‘advice’ on how we go to Mirador given that we only have little time left and oh boy he did not disappoint. He even managed to get us a map, he told us to take a taxi from the restaurant and go to Mirador and ask the driver to wait for us to take a couple of photos and drive us straight to the train station and it was very convenient. Food came and he gave us a broth! It was really good and it was for free!!! We were the very first customer there so everything we ordered came really quick. The chicken salad was SOOOO GOOOD and the serving was big. The chuleton came and although it was good, I felt like I want it to be a little salty. But anyway there’s a little salt on top of it so I kind of spread it a little. We finished everything in 35 mins, paid the bill, left and went straight to the taxi stand that Jony told us to take. Thank you Jony! I have visited Avila a lot of times already and I was just there to tour my friends. I will definitely eat here again and will recommend this to everyone I know that will visit Avila. I did not manage to take proper photos as we were in a hurry.

I recommend the daily menu for 2 persons. Portions are large and its gluten free. The whole menu is gluten free apart from pasta and Castellan soup.

We stopped here for lunch during a quick visit to the city. We chose the menu as we wanted to try a few things. The menu included patatas revolcona, ensaladilla, beans soup and a steak, and a dessert all to share. The soup was very nice and also the potatoes, which I never tried cooked in that way. The meat was very tender and well cooked. The dessert was very good, especially the arroz con leche. The only note would be about the price (58 for 2 people) to be slightly high for the amount of food. Said that, the location is super central so I understand that part of the price is also because of that. It can get very busy so I would recommend to book if you plan to visit. I booked over the phone and the person answering was very nice.

The bean soup, tuna salad, sweet potatoes and dessert were all tasty. Highly recommend.

Very authentic and enjoyable experience in Segovia. Slightly off the beaten track and full of local specialities. The suckling pig was delicious! The wine was overly chilled but soon warmed up. The services was rustic …. And really in Spanish only. Thank goodness for google translate! Really enjoyed it

The service at this restaurant isn’t exactly flawless. The waiters looked tired, their uniforms were old and stained, and it took about 15 minutes just to get the menu. However, all my frustration disappeared the moment they brought out the roast suckling pig. The meat was incredibly tender, and the skin was perfectly crispy — absolutely delicious. It cost €27, and while I’m not sure if that’s expensive or not, I was completely satisfied. Honestly, going to Segovia and not trying the suckling pig is like visiting and skipping the aqueduct — it’s a must.

We ordered the lunch course menu consisting of a soup/stew, bread, a glass of wine per person, conchinillo and dessert (Segovian cakes). The soup/ stew was delicious and the conchinillo was excellently cooked. The skin was perfectly crispy while the meat was tender and juicy. We recommend seating outside for a beautiful ambiance while eating. The only downside is that the staff were a bit gruff and seemed unfriendly. But overall this restaurant is really good and is must visit when in Segovia.

Wonderful food and friendly staff. The Ensalada Corintia is one of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Provolone appetizer. Seafood lasagne was full of seafood and in a great sauce and cheese combination. Good wine list, and very good service that made us feel welcome. Would definitely return.

Really nice restaurant! Such a big variety and really good quality of food. Everything was realky tasty and portions are quite big! Good price as well. Very welcoming staff that was taking care of everything. If you have any food allergy you just need to say it and they will for sure take care of it, so it is such a big plus! Generally I love the place!

Restaurante Taberna López is a charming eatery located in Segovia, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere that takes you on a journey through time. The restaurant is known for its emphasis on homestyle meals, particularly roast meats, served in a warm setting with stone walls and wooden beams. Visitors are welcomed by the owner who provides attentive service despite language barriers. Guests highly recommend trying the cochinillo (suckling pig), which is described as perfectly cooked and flavorful.
Fantastic dinning experience with great attention and fantastic food! The suckling pig is so crispy outside and so tender inside. Much better than the one so tried from the famous Meson Cándido. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try the famous Segovia Suckling Pig!

What an incredible experience at this beautiful restaurant! We visited on a quiet weekday night out of season, but the owner made the utmost effort for our dining experience. His recommendations for both food and wine were excellent and we felt very welcome.

The owner of this restaurant is very nice. The service is great, and the menu is diverse. This is a decent restaurant! Good for a date. The food is also delicious, and I recommend people come here to eat.
Jessica L — Google review
Amazing food, we had a half pig between 4 people along with the recommended beans and soup and it was amazing. You truly feel like you are back when knights were wearing armor, lasses were slinging beer and the goats were roaming free. Highly recommend!
Jordan N — Google review
We came on a Thursday at 8pm and were the first guests, The owner handles everything himself and was a great host - despite not talking any English he knew how to communicate and help with the selection. We had a wine of recommendation - very good price value (15.80), the traditional bean dish - a bit bland for my taste (I like the Mexican version better) and the suckling pig for two - perfect on point and could have served three. Shared the only available dessert and had a coffee - both perfect - to finish. He served us a homemade Honey liqueur on the house and we were in a happy food coma. Local atmosphere, great food and a personal service experience - 10/10 would visit again. PS: He offers free taxi to his place, so maybe call him for that Improvement point: The breadbasket was a bit dry and bland

Amazing service and good food. We arrive without a reservation and the waiter managed to get us a seat although the restaurant is full . I fully enjoyed the sucking pig , bean stew and the dessert cake:)

We had pre-fixed lunch menu. We had a very nice time. Food was very good and service was exceptional. 32 euro for this is a bargain.

I had a great lunch here. I strongly recommend you come and have nice meal if you are passing by. A memorable dining experience. Every dish we tasted was a masterpiece. The attention to detail in presentation and taste was truly remarkable. But what truly set this restaurant apart was the impeccable service; the staff anticipated my needs before I even realized them, ensuring that every moment of my meal was nothing short of perfection. Without a doubt, dining here was an exquisite journey for the senses.

When in Astorga, you have to go, it's like going to the Gaudí palace, an experience, only one dish on the menu, 'cocido Maragato ' a Nice story behind it, but let's go to the meal, the taste is unique, you have to go through all the steps, including desert, it's amazing, don't go for the looks go for the taste.Santiago the owner is a special man, he cook's it with love, and is always seeing if it's enough, old school MAN, very special, the rest of the family are very nice as well.

For those on Camino this is a restaurant that offers a purely local menu (lunch only, so this will be your big meal of the day): Cocido Maragato, a meal served in reverse order. Fresh tomatoes in oil and vinegar A variety of cooked meats Delicious chickpeas and cabbage dish A light soup A custard, dessert with light cake and filtered coffee See, pics. Only €29 including a full bottle of wine.

Excellent food, great value, kind attentive service Wonderful and hearty meal. Had the Cocido set meal. It was filling for a hungry pilgrim! Tomato, olive oil and bread, Cocido meat plate, followed by chickpeas and cabbage, then soup, then dessert. Wine and water included. Service was excellent and very attentive. They get busy over lunch and seems to be a popular place, well-deserved!

Casa Mando is a must-visit dining spot in the solemn city of Leon. Formerly known as the old meson Conde Luna, it has been transformed into a temple of fine dining since 2015. The restaurant offers regional specialties such as sirloin and breaded veal, accompanied by local wines, all served in a charming wood-beamed dining room. It is part of a renowned restaurant and hotel group that operates several popular eateries in Leon.
This place is fantastic!! All the dishes are delicious and well decorated and served. Wine selection is also very good when drinking by a glass. What more, the services of the staffs are perfect...excellent attention, well remembered, timely and very friendly. I very much recommend this restaurant and of corse will visit again. (I did not take the picture of the restaurant, but it was very comfortable and the atmosphere was very good)

I’d read that sweetbreads were a speciality of Leon and saw that Casa Mando had it on their menu. Walked in and was greeted by the manager who was able to seat me even though they were busy, very grateful for this. I ordered the chilled garlic and smoked eel soup as a starter. The soup was very smooth with a generous amount of smoked eel, a great starter for a warm day. After this I had the sweetbreads stew. If you enjoy offal this is a great dish and would recommend it. I had a great lunch and would happily recommend the restaurant.

We visited Casa Mando in July 2020 as we were returning from Asturias and decided to make a stop in Leon. We ordered some classic Spanish food: Pork “patitas” with chickpeas and solomillo with vegetables. Food quality was amazing, and temperature of dishes was perfect. If you try Pork “patitas” just enjoy the creaminess and after-throat sensation that the sauce leaves. Simply magical!

This restaurant is a part of the hotel. For hotel food its good but not great if you want to have a restaurant quality meal. The monkfish was the best thing we ate the rest was very bland and uninspiring. The avocados were brown, pepper puree with the pulpo was like glue and the chocolate cake was very underwhelming.

Los Candiles is a cozy restaurant in Avila, offering regional classics like veal steak and leche frita pancakes. The establishment prides itself on impeccable service and exquisite recipes made with the best seasonal ingredients. Away from the hustle of downtown Avila, it's an ideal spot to savor traditional dishes such as veal steak, El Barco de Avila beans, Castilian soup, and morcilla milhojas.
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to recently, the menu is a bit more costly than regular Spanish restaurants (40€) but worth every cent. I had the milhojas de morcilla as a starter and the chuletón as main dish, both absolutely fantastic. Service is also great, very kind staff.

We came here believing its rating. Decoration of the place is just normal and there is no even space for waiting until the waiter attenda you. As far as the food, they got daily menu at 38€/pax which is competitive and reasonable. Service was good, we didnt take daily menu and the value for price was ok too. Nice place but the rating is that high coz of the foreigners(they never tried real spanish food before), dont get me wrong, the place is good but not as good like it looks like.

Nice meal. Almost all locals. Beef is a specialty in Avila but if you are a regular consumer of good cuts of USA beef you might consider something else. Don’t get me wrong. The beef is good. But so is most of the menu. All four of us enjoyed the meal.

Delicious steak. We ordered each person a menu with the chuleton… and each one was massive. It was delicious and great value for money. They were very generous with the portion. We should have asked about the size, as one to share would have been enough for us two girls. We also ordered one tenderloin which came in much smaller size BUT super soft and tasty. Really really good. My recommendation is if you are into quantity, order the tenderloin!

Mencia is a restaurant with a specialization in cod cooked in many different ways. It's one of the most essential Salamanca restaurants, and we highly recommend trying their salads, baked seafood dishes, Croquetas and desserts. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
We had lunch today, and the food was great quality, authentic taste, the staff is so friendly. We had salad with mushrooms and so tasty cod. Great wine selection also. The main dish cod was cooked perfectly! It is worth to walk 5 minutes from the center square. Highly recommended!

We each had a cod dish and both were absolutely delicious, as were the wine and the ensalada templada. Gloria Bendita is a restaurant located outside the city walls of Avila, offering exceptional views of the Adaja River and the city's historic fortifications. The establishment features four distinct spaces, including a bar-cafeteria for breakfast, a dining room with beautiful city views, a lookout on the second floor, and in summer, a terraced area overlooking the river.
The food is delicious with comparable prices. I recommend the "De ahumados" salad, "Croquetas" and deserts! Our waiter Josue, was very nice and attentive. Very good service. The view of the Avila wall from the restaurant is spectacular!

The food is good, not the best but the atmosphere is excellent. We love the flora salad! It’s a pity that the castle is blocked by the tree, or else the view will be amazing.

The restaurant does, sorry did have a good view of the walls but this selling point has now been blocked by trees. Unfortunately the food was not matched by the good and friendly service. Salad was the best of an average meal. The prawns in chilli had no chilli heat at all and the fillet steak was poorly seared and served with a strange tasting sweet sauce.
