Nestled in the heart of Harrington, The Tollemache Arms is a delightful country pub that promises an unforgettable experience. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends rustic charm with cozy comfort. The friendly staff are dedicated to ensuring every guest feels right at home, providing attentive service throughout your visit. The menu may be limited, but it offers an impressive array of delicious dishes that are beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
The Tollemache Arms in Harrington is everything a great country pub should be warm, characterful, and bursting with charm. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a cosy, rustic atmosphere that perfectly balances traditional countryside comfort with a polished, modern edge. The thatched roof, log fires, and stunning views across Northamptonshire’s rolling fields create a setting that’s as inviting as it is picturesque. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, creating an easy, welcoming energy that makes every visit feel special, whether you’re popping in for a quiet pint or celebrating something big. The food is exceptional hearty, imaginative, and beautifully presented. Each dish feels thoughtfully crafted, with local ingredients and bold, comforting flavours that make you want to linger over every bite. The menu offers a great balance of pub classics and inventive specials, and the drinks list strikes the perfect mix between familiar favourites and carefully chosen local gems. Yes, it’s popular (and for good reason), so booking ahead is wise, but The Tolly more than lives up to the hype. It’s not just a pub it’s an experience, and one that captures the very best of British hospitality.

Sunday lunch with our family place was buzzing with energy, and really busy but we never felt ignored. The food was on point, drinks were fab, and everything was spotless. The staff were super friendly, had great menu knowledge, and made sure we were having a good time. Can't wait to come back—definitely a proper gem!

A great pub/restaurant. Can recommend the beef shin. !! Very friendly staff and food well presented. 3 course meal with one drink for 2 approx £100 so not bad for good quality food In a nice environment

Wow! Wow! Wow! What an amazing country pub! From the minute you walk in to the minute you leave - you're welcomed with a hello, smile and everything else in between! I've never known such a place to have 100% fantastic customer service. The staff were all friendly, happy and were there to ensure you all have a good time. The food was amazing. We went in with a family of 8 and service was exceptional. Food all to great standards and very tasty. (Well done to the chefs) Well priced, great atmosphere 👏 Also to top it off we was there for a 40th birthday celebration and the staff came out with the cake and sang happy birthday which was amazing. (The lady with the opera voice maybe the manager) Wow your voice was amazing. Thank you for a great time and we will be sure to be back again in the future

We had such a fantastic time at the Tollemache Arms! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of charm — a perfect mix of rustic character and cosy comfort. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about making sure every guest feels at home. The food was absolutely spot-on: fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. The portion sizes were just right. The drinks selection was great too — The cocktails were a good size and tasted lovely. It’s rare to find a place that gets the balance of great food, warm hospitality, and lovely surroundings so right, but the Tollemache Arms truly delivers. We left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended

We had a Friday night supper here after our Tour at the Warner's Gin Distillery. The booking system is easy to use and you receive emails before and after your meal which is re assuring. We received a friendly welcome from Flo (thank you) and our order was taken super speedy. Food arrived in good time and was delicious. Waiting Staff were organised and "on their toes." Highly recommend the venue, quality comfy furniture and lively buzzing atmosphere without being intrusive or over the top. Nice one and thank you

Doing this review on behalf of my partner who came here with his friends! Came here for a Sunday lunch. Really pretty area and view, staff were very welcoming and attentive, and the food came out quickly! Only improvement to suggest would be to introduce a one course option (currently you need to get two courses) for Sunday lunch, as apparently the starter was filling enough! But can understand why this isn’t an option. Really good overall and a decent price.
Lucky K — Google review
Heard great things expectations were high. Can see why it was a finalist on Britains best pub. Food, service, location all amazing. Booked for dinner for 2. Lovely interior and decor. Waitress’ were very attentive and answered all the questions we had. The recommendation of the hash brown side was spot on. Will be back to sample the smash burgers on Sundays and any other events. Thanks for having us.

Spanish restaurant
La Terraza Tapas Bar, located in Upton, Northampton, is a charming Spanish-inspired eatery that offers an array of delectable dishes and beverages crafted by authentic Spanish chefs. Visitors have praised the cozy and inviting ambiance, making it an ideal spot for a family outing. The friendly staff further enhance the welcoming atmosphere.
Absolutely delicious food, with a warm and welcoming staff that made the experience even better. The atmosphere is charming and relaxed, perfect for enjoying tapas. Prices are fair and in line with what you'd expect. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be returning!
Monika M — Google review
Food is ok. It is tasty but needs better seasoning. Especially the spicy prawns they had no flavour. Everything else in terms of tapas was ok.goats cheese was our favourite . Wine was good, service was good but needs to try a bit better with taste and seasoning. 4 glasses of wine and 8 tapas £98 but we had couple expensive choices.
Mariana B — Google review
I recently visited LA TERRAZA TAPAS BAR, and it was an absolute delight! The atmosphere was laid-back, perfect for relaxing with friends or enjoying a quiet evening out. The highlight for me had to be the fried aubergine fries – they were simply incredible! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor, they were easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall warm vibe of the place. If you’re looking for a spot with great food and a chilled ambiance, this is it. Highly recommend.
Iain F — Google review
If you want a holiday without the hassle of booking a flight, then La Terraza is the place to go! The decor is lively and inviting, with colourful tiles and warm lighting that make you feel as if you’ve just crossed over into a Spanish fiesta. My favourites are patatas bravas ,gambas al ajillo, pollo manchego, and calamari! you’ll want to order everything on the menu—so it's best to go on a Tuesday when it's 2 4 1 on most dishes (not desserts, bread, olives, platters, paella, etc.) And we can’t overlook the amazing (youthful looking) owner, Kellie, who exemplifies the spirit of La Terraza. With a smile that could melt glaciers and a warmth that feels like a cosy summer evening, Kellie makes every guest feel like family. She’s the kind of person who could probably convince a paella to dance! (Especially with her singing voice!) So, if you find yourself in Upton, head over to La Terraza. Come for the tapas, stay for the delightful company—and maybe leave with a newfound crush on Kellie (like i clearly have 😉). You won’t just leave full; you’ll leave happy and already planning your next visit! 🍷
Bev W — Google review
Wow! The food here is amazing and there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, service times were exceptional too! I am looking forward to returning and would recommend this restaurant to a friend!
Evie P — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering.
Lauryna B — Google review
The food was top notch at this restaurant. Although everything was excellent, we really enjoyed the steak with chimichurri, pork belly and the king prawns. The service was equally fantastic, very knowledgeable about the food and attentive. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely be back!
Weronika D — Google review
The food was tasty but overpriced. Given this is a tapas place, meaning people will order lots of plates, the tables were tiny. Also, the service felt rushed. We had quite a lot of food left on the plate, and the waitres came to collect the plates, I had to stop her...

The menu features both a contemporary à la carte selection and a chef's tasting menu, showcasing the innovative twist of Chef Sam Squires. Absolutely incredible dining experience! My partner treated me to a lovely meal here, and I was blown away by the tastes of each meal. All the staff were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, and when each course was served they tell you exactly what is on your plate. There were various vegetarian selections for my partner, and they catered to this with no problem at all. The cheeseboard we had was a nice addition also. I would definitely like to return and try the wine menu along with the food, there's always next time!

Be sure to visit this restaurant! Your culinary preferences will reach a new level, bringing you closer to haute cuisine. We sampled 10 dishes, all of which were outstanding. The prices were pleasantly surprising; compared to similar restaurants, they are particularly attractive here. We will definitely return and bring our friends along. This restaurant stands out from others and will remain in your memory for a long time. 🥰❤️🤤🤩😎😘😌

Such a wonderful experience dining in the cellar, the food and service was exceptional, would definitely recommend the wine pairing as Hannah was super knowledgeable and we loved hearing about each wine. Incredible presentation throughout and we were looked after so beautifully for our anniversary. I was also really impressed by how well my dietary requirements were catered to - thank you!

A hidden gem, right here in Delapare Abbey, Northampton. Found it by chance & so glad I did. Booked for 6:30 pm (finished @ 9:40pm). A relaxed dining of seven courses. Never rushed by the friendly, welcoming, professional, attentive staff. Words cannot fully describe the wonderful taste of every course. It's out of this world. Different flavours fuse together gracefully. It's a place where one will go for a special occasion, or even something different from the other corporate, franchise restaurants on the main streets.
Sherman A — Google review
This place is divine! Northampton does not have many restaurants that offer this level of a tasting menu..... sublime! I have an intolerance to gluten and dairy and when making the reservation I made Hibiscus aware of this . On the night, I was not disappointed by what I was served! The 7 course were evenly spaced put so as not to keep people waiting too long or feeling hungry. The grounds of Delapre Abbey are amazing aswell

Wonderful restaurant in a beautiful building. Friendly, efficient and knowledge service. Delicious food. Excellent wine including Nytimber English sparkling. This is by no means a cheap place to eat, but definitely an excellent choice for a for a special occasion. Every dish was beautifully presented and the waiter explained how the wine flight choice paired expertly with the food. I highly recommended Hibiscus to anyone wanting special food in a special place.

Lovely to be at the Abbey on an evening. Beautiful dining room, glamorous and stylish. Cool lofi ambiance with chilled music and a friendly warm atmosphere. Food and wine flight combo was sensational. Cooking skills displayed were fantastic, unexpected flavour combinations, plenty of textures and the Hibiscus Billini was magic. We loved it!

Our first visit to the Snooty Fox and oh did it deliver. The food was amazing, best oysters I have had ever. The lobster is still swimming around the tank when you order it. The drinks menu is an absolute joy especially the wine list. Staff are lovely and really helpful. A real pleasure and if you like seafood then you must visit this place. I will say and this isn't a criticism but you get what you pay for and this is the best of the best.

Fantastic restaurant and bar Fantastic selection at the bar, amazing restaurant , I had goats cheese for starters and lamb cutlets for mains .. they were both stunning. The green green chilli chutney was excellent and authentic. Finished the meal with a desert wine . As I write this I'm smiling ..the whole experience was absolutely terrific. Thank you Snooty Fox I will be back :)

Not for the faint hearted! These meals are BIG! Loved my dishes and happy with the price. A little slow being offered drinks but they told us all about their cigars which was nice as we could have easily over looked it.
Keira L — Google review
What a fabulous place! Take friendly staff, a nice welcome as we arrived and what a menu. Granted, not the cheapest, but the food was sublime, well presented, delightfully cooked, and the food was front and centre to the experience, we had coffee outside afterwards, which just wrapped things up for us.. I love about 45 minutes away, but it's well worth the journey to get there.. I had scallops with black pudding, which was so flavoursome to start and half a lobster, which was an impressive size, well worth the money. The other main had was a lobster roll.. simple, but very tasty.. The lemon meringue was the right condonation of tangy and crunchy, chewy meringue..
Al B — Google review
Lovely place to go out on a Saturday. We had some tasty starters( lobster arancini and beef carpaccio). We went for the burger the sirloin steak, perfectly cooked. The plum tart and apple deserts were delicious too. Definitely going back to try something else from the menu.

Customers can place orders from Sunday to Thursday between 4pm and 9pm, and on Friday and Saturday between 4pm and 10pm. Online platforms such as their website, Just Eat, Deliveroo, and Food Hub are available for ordering. The staff provides attentive service without being overwhelming. We was been this restaurant many many times the food is always so delicious Pamukkale special mix grilled Lamb ribs Lamb chops Adana with yogurt ( when we going Pamukkale Restaurant we feeling like we are at home ) And specially how long we want we can staying there We love this place ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We had a great time there. The food, especially the ribs, was absolutely delicious. They even surprised us with a free treat because one of us was celebrating her birthday. I would definitely recommend you try this place.
Ken R — Google review
Awesome ambience attractive decor, staff very witty and friendly, however the food is very average for a Turkish, unfortunately. I have tried better ones out there, I ordered the Lamb shank, looked good oddly they served a full potato with it even when it had mash under it?. Shank was tough on one side and a bit burnt. I wouldn’t recommend as it was actually fairly disappointing. Maybe mine was a one off as so many positive reviews. Give it a go but personally it just wasn’t for me! Prices are also up there with the best, keeping that in mind in my opinion the quality food wise isn’t there.
Ian B — Google review
We went here for the first time to try out the food as we got recommended this place since it apparently has cheaper options than tuck in and even tastes better. We soon found out the hard way. We got sat down as soon as we came in, and the waitress there was super welcoming and kind. The waitress would have a laugh with us, had patience and in general was very kind. The food part was what ruined the whole experience. The prices weren't cheaper, but rather the same or even more expensive. When we got our food, we were really disappointed. Our food was either extremely salty, bland, or bitter. All that was good was the bread that we got given before the food with the sauces. That was the best thing there and really tasty. This doesn't make it that much better as when we got home, we all became ill with diarrhea. I remember being on call with a friend and suddenly started feeling ill. I told them of the situation and told me to take a break if I needed to and try getting medicine, which barely worked. In the end, the food was pretty bad, which is sad because the idea of the restaurant has potential, but the food ruins it all.

**Pamukkale Restaurant, Northampton - A Delightful Turkish Experience** Pamukkale Restaurant in Northampton offers a truly delightful culinary experience that transports you to the historic town of Pamukkale in Turkey. The atmosphere is friendly, and the decor reflects the rich culture and history of Turkey, creating a warm and inviting environment. We started with a delicious chicken liver dish that was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The main course featured the best BBQ lamb ribs and lamb shish I've ever tasted. The lamb was incredibly soft and tender, served with perfectly cooked rice that complemented the meat wonderfully. To top off the meal, we enjoyed their 100% homemade baklava. It was simply divine—crispy, sweet, and paired beautifully with Turkish tea. The dessert alone is worth the visit! Overall, Pamukkale offers a fantastic dining experience with exceptional food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Turkey in Northampton.

The thing is why this place overrated i dont understand. Everything is so extra spicy and bigger plates are so small. I attached a photo. This is bigger plate: carib steak smaller then my hand. You can taste grill's oil on Flat garlic bread Curry goat is the same. You have to order rice as side. I understand the couisine is spicy itself but this is extra. You can come here for drink but not for food. 20 gbp for trash food

Sophia's Northampton is a delightful trattoria that beautifully blends French and Italian culinary traditions, offering a relaxed atmosphere perfect for any occasion. With over 20 years of experience in the local dining scene, this charming restaurant has become synonymous with exceptional Mediterranean cuisine and outstanding customer service. The inviting ambiance makes it an ideal spot for special celebrations or intimate dinners. Guests often rave about the warm hospitality from the staff, who go above and beyond to ensure every visitor feels at home.
This is another restaurant we hadn't been to in a couple of years, so it was about time we visited again. We booked a table and requested a booth. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who seated us down at a booth. Great start. The menu has a really nice selection of all courses and drinks. We ordered a couple of wines whilst perusing the menu and were giving free bread dips whilst we did so, which was a nice touch. We ordered a garlic bread to share as a starter and were going to order a couple of pastas for mains, but we noticed chicken a la creme, which is a favourite we rarely have in the UK. We couldn't resist. The food was fresh, hot, really tasty and generous in portion size. Lovely. We ordered the cheese board for dessert and again a nice size as a lot of restaurants have really reduced this dish in size, if you can actually order it at all. Overall we were really impressed and will be going back. Well done Sophia's.

If I could sum up my experience at SOPHIA'S in 2 words.. It was delightful and delicious! I would rate it a 5/5. It was our anniversary and we decided on Sophia's. Fortunately we got the reservation. The staff on phone was polite and booking a table was seamless. Ambience: The very first thing that caught our eyes was the homeliness and beauty of this place. It is so weird that although it wasn't extravagant, but still the feeling of this place was pure Joy. Just the right amount of lighting. Also, the wax candle placed at each table really lights up the mood. There are hand made murals done on the wall which gives a real Mediterranean feel. Please keep in mind that If you want a really quiet place, this surely isn't! Since people get really happy and talk their hearts out. So it was definitely not quiet 😂 Food: Food was delicious. I loved the fact that they have kept a small menu but judging by 4 items we had, they pour their hearts out in those. The Garlic Bread was crusty and the melted cheese on the top was delicious. The Arabiata Pasta and Sea bass were cooked to perfection. A must haves for sure! Service: Although I am not completely sure since I didn't have had the chance to ask, but I am pretty sure that it's family run restaurant. The staff was very attentive and quick when we called or needed something. Food took reasonable time as it would have taken to be cooked freshly. Everyone who was serving was smiling and bursting of joy. It was efficient and with care. Overall, I would say it was a delightfully memorable evening for us and I would blindly recommend this place for anyone to visit and try.

We came on a quiet Wednesday night. The interior is really sweet, very rustic looking and gives off the Mediterranean feel. Service was great, very attentive. Food was good, we got some homemade bread sticks on the house which were lovely, whitebait for starters as it was on the specials, it was nice and then some garlic bread which was good. For main, we had the salmon linguine which was alright, nothing major and the crab spaghetti which was delicious, I do recommend this dish. Lastly we finished with the tiramisu that was really good, tho would have liked some more of the biscuit/sponge in it. Overall, it was good, will come back.

Beautiful pub and beautiful grounds. The decor is lovely. Dog friendly. Great place for drinks. Plently of parking. Food was ok, we were expecting something more considering the prices. I ordered a brisket sandwich and for the price was expecting a bit more especially from the bread.Staff also took sometime to finally get our order. But overall we liked we will back for drinks.

Popped in for a late lunch, really enjoyable. Ribeye steak was cooked to medium rare perfection, the triple cooked chips were excellent and the bacon and mushroom sauce was delicious.

Walked in on the off chance of a Sunday roast after taking Reggie (our dog) for a stroll. Luckily we got in and glad we did. We got served by Rebecca and an absolute gorgeous sharing starters & a roast. Quality of food was a very high standard. Highly recommend but would probably recommend to book just incase. 10:10

Stopped for lunch on the way down to going on holiday. Server was really friendly. Didn't have the starter I wanted so ended up having the mushrooms, which were unfortunately quite tasteless. My partners Calamari was really nice. I had the pork belly roast, which was nice and was brought extra gravy when asked. Unfortunately couldn't eat the parsnips as they had been completely overcooked. My partner had the chicken skewer which overall was nice but unfortunately couldn't eat some of the pieces of chicken on the end as they were rock hard. Portion sizes were good and prices OK.

Got told- no reservation - go find a table in the corner. We found one and asked for it to be cleaned 3 separate times. Girl who brought us the food cleaned some of the plates left the rest as per photos. I asked for Blue roll and she brought me blue roll and left me to wipe our table myself. £25 per main. Miserable untrained staff. This is so poor that it’s funny!

Saffrons Indian restaurant in Northampton is known for its traditional Indian menu that also features Nepalese specialities. The restaurant offers a simple and contemporary dining space to its patrons. It participated in the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme and has decided to extend the discounts until the end of October. Visitors have expressed their delight at being able to dine at the restaurant again after the compulsory lockdown period, especially since they have implemented social distancing measures by reducing the number of tables available.
Delicious food! Would highly recommend to others. The sauce was thick and chicken was full of flavour. For main we had butter chicken and mismas tarkari (chicken&mince beef) Was also nice to see a Indian restaurant full of people!

Heard a lot of good things about this place so thought to try it out. First time visiting and will definitely be back. Service was fantastic from start to finish. Food was really good too, some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time.

I've been in the service industry as try for 25 years in the US. Been in UK for three days. Finding all of the staff at the restaurants to be disinterested and not at all engaging. NOT the boys at Saffron. Easily the friendliest and most attentive. Very engaging and fun. Probably the best food we've had since we've been here. Will recommend to my colonist friends. Can't wait to go back.

Myself and my father come up every year for MotoGP. We try different places to eat, especially Indian food. The bill was £90 for what you see in the pictures, my vindaloo was full of salt and the gentleman next door had the same. The waiter shrugged his shoulders when we both told him, then apologised to us, still charged £90. Awful food
Matthew A — Google review
The food and service was pleasant enough, but the prices are ridiculous. Two people, using the Wednesday banquet offer (£14 for a starter, main and naan/rice), managed to spend £70. That's £40 for six poppadoms, three diet cokes and two cheesecakes, which is absolutely outrageous. Will certainly not be visiting again, or recommending to others.

First visit to the Saffron...and definitely not the last! Busy, with a good vibe even on a Tuesday night.Fresh, flavourful food. Sarters and mains plentiful and delicious. Spicy sauces with fluffy fresh naan breads. Yes...it's not the cheapest...but worth every penny. The service was also exceptional. Attentive and interactive. Post dinner aperitifs' were greatly appreciated. Three happy ladies.

Prior to writing this review, I took time to read through previous comments issued to this establishment and I must say I am very surprised by the high number of positive reviews for this restaurant! Unfortunately my experience was very different. I only had a brief visit in this restaurant, driven by the poor experience I had had. It kicked off when I was presented with the menu, £20 for lamb jalfrezi, £6 for pilau rice, £7 for a pint of Kingfisher - these are prices reserved for London as opposed to Northampton. It is what it is, I order and look forward to my dinner, it must be good for this price. I take one mouthful of the food and declare to my companion "this is salty", he confirms that it is. I raise said concerns to the waiter who informs me that the chef is very good and it must be me! At this stage, the adjacent table interject and also confirm their food is salty. Hey ho, what do we know?! There was no apology and offer to fix it, very poor service. In the end, I had spent £33 for some rice and a few cubes of lamb - needless to say I will not be returning, and let's hope you the reader has a more discerning palate and can appreciate the salty flavours of Saffron!

Worst curry house ever. Been many nepalise resteraunts nothing seemed authentic. Food was the packaged compliments and starters not rustic or authentic. Lamb chop starter was tough and grilled to death. All feel ill today our meals just tasted as if had pound of sugar in. Not my cup of tea and very expensive.

A Great Experience at Bills Rushden Lakes** I popped in this evening just for a quick drink but ended up staying for a full meal—and I’m so glad I did. I was served by Max, who was absolutely amazing. He struck the perfect balance between being helpful and professional while also bringing a great sense of humour to the experience. I’ve been to Bills many times before, but Max’s service truly made this visit stand out. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and Max’s cocktail recommendations were spot on—definitely elevated the whole evening. All in all, a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful quiet evening at Bill's Restaurant and Bar. Friendly staff, good service, reasonable prices and delicious food. They accept card payments here and not cash! We visited on a Monday evening, which was peaceful and quiet. I would highly recommend and intend to visit again.

Review of Bill’s Rushden Lakes That was the Bill’s, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend going there. The English breakfast was a huge let-down – the mushrooms were anything but fresh, dried out and unpleasant, and the rest of the plate wasn’t much better. For a place that charges extra, I expected at least a decent breakfast. To make it worse, they automatically added a 12.5% service charge, so instead of £14.50, I paid £16.31 for what I can honestly say was the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. Poor quality, overpriced, and disappointing. Definitely not worth it.

We have visited on numerous occasions, restaurant has a great setting on the lake, with options to sit in or outside. We ordered the chicken shawarma (pictured), a chicken Caesar salad and sweet potato fries, and tuna steak, all the food is always good. The staff are friendly however service is slow every time we visit, despite a good number of staff. Also recommend the pomegranate and raspberry lemonade.

We had an absolutely delightful dining experience, highlighted by the exceptional service from Tash, who made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our visit. The meals we ordered were not only delicious but also beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors that left us thoroughly satisfied. Moreover, the service was impeccable, with Tash being attentive without being intrusive, always ensuring our needs were met. One of the standout aspects of the restaurant was the breathtaking Lake View, which provided a stunning backdrop that was surprisingly serene given the bustling nature of the shopping centre. It created a lovely atmosphere that enhanced our meal. We would definitely love to return for another meal and enjoy that view again!

If you're on the hunt for a laid-back dining experience that celebrates all things BBQ, look no further than The Smoke Pit. This cozy eatery features comfortable sofas and high stools, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying their mouthwatering offerings. With highlights like 15-hour pulled pork and 10-hour ox cheek, meat lovers will be in heaven here. While there are a few vegetarian options available, the star of the show is undoubtedly the array of chargrilled meats.
I love this place. The beef ribs are amazing. Huge portions. The brisket and tater tots are the best. The cocktails are really pretty and taste fabulous. I will always come back.

Friendly staff from arrival. Food and drinks were nice. I had the 'rubber duckie' cocktail, without the duck (unlike I had seen in other reviews that had one). Decor is different but fits with the theme. Good choice in food and drinks. The menu can be a little confusing to read with the text and price not separated. Would return again to try something else on the menu too.

The ribs and wings had great flavours but were very chewy, quite disappointing. I went to Mission Chicken recently, their sister restaurant and the food there was incredible so it’s surprising the ribs and wings at the smoke pit weren’t up to par.

Decent food, rude staff. When we arrived we were ignored for 10 minutes whilst the man who works on the front desk was having a catch up with a friend. When his friend left to continue with his day, the man coldy walked us to our table and the experience got no better from that. We have been a few times as the food is decent, however due to the customer service from this same man on front desk, we won't be returning or recommending, which is a shame.

My partner and I have only heard brilliant things about this very unique and quirky restaurant, And we were not let down in the slightest! Our date night was such a fun and memorable night, Which was most definitely because of the food and atmosphere, definitely returning for one of our next date nights. AND BEST FRIES IN THE UK! Which go with any of the drinks to choose from, BUT definitely mix and match with the cocktails, everything just works together,. And, all the staff are wonderful, happy and smiles all round which makes the whole restaurant experience absolutely wonderful

The food was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly, flavourful and fresh, desserts were also amazing, didn't have that mass produced corporate feel like the chained restaurants do. One tiny observation is that although the decor, fixtures and fittings have that rustic spray painted, industrial vibe (which is cool) in the stark light of day it felt like it needed a good spruce up, slightly tired and a bit of a grubby feel with the tables and chairs (just my personal opinion) Highly recommended though.

It was my 77th birthday and we were made to feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant that mattered. The staff were so good at what they do and really attentive. Despite it being a busy night for them, they managed to get around to everyone and serve them with their meals. Absolutely fantastic. I asked my husband to go and thank the Chef personally for the wonderful food that we had. All three of us had different meals and they were all top draw. Thank you again for making my birthday so special. On top of which, when the deserts came out, mine had a personalised message and a candle. You all made me feel like I was a young girl again. This was my first visit and I had a lovely breakfast. I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Royale and my friend had the breakfast sandwich. There was a generous amount of salmon, the sauce was lovely and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed it. I also had a pot of tea which gave me about 3 cups worth, and was served with milk, sugar, and a lotus biscoff biscuit. My total bill was £16.30 which I thought was reasonable. My friend's sandwich was huge for the £8 price and she said everything in it was great. Will definitely be back for breakfast and perhaps also to try their main dinner menu

We will definitely be visiting again soon.

We have visited the halt for years on occasion and very rarely choose to eat out for a Sunday dinner. Unfortunately the food was just not very nice upon our visit today, we were waiting a very long time and had 2 children in tow, too. The cauliflower cheese came out first before any of the food (roast), 10 minutes later the adult mains arrived and in this time the cauliflower cheese had gone cold and again, we were waiting on the children's food.. when it eventually arrived they'd got the order completely wrong- bringing chicken instead of fish ( we do not eat chicken). Waitress had said we said chicken, none of us eat chicken so this is not possible. The manager offered to take the chicken off and replace it with fish- we are vegetarian so wouldn't want to eat from something that had just had chicken sitting on it. Eventually we all had our food in front of us and tried to start to enjoy the food and my daughter found not one but two hairs on her dinner embedded in the fish fingers. At this point we had quite simply just had enough. £105 later and none of us felt happy with the food. Young waitress seemed lovely and she tried her best but unfortunately got our order wrong. Manager stated she would take the kids meal off of the bill but hadn't informed the staff at the bar so we ended up paying it anyway. I really really hope this is a one off because this is so disappointing to leave feedback like this but unfortunately we wont be returning for food.

Came in yesterday evening, our waitress was Ruadhan and she was lovely. We were quick to be seated and attended to, even when we couldn’t make up our minds she was patient and helpful. Food was lovely, I don’t understand all the bad reviews as we had a great experience! Thank you
Cody B — Google review
We attended today for an early dinner after a lovely time over at the riverside hub. Was very disappointed by the service and experience we had at the harvester. We came in at about 4.10pm and it wasn’t very busy and we could see plenty of tables available for the size of party we had but all were covered in dirty plates and food. We waited about 20 mins to still not be seen in by anyone before the people in front of us left as they felt they were waiting too long for a table. After 25 mins we were seen to and sat at a table that was completely inappropriate for our situation as we had a 1 year old with us and were sat by the bar on the raised booth seat which was very dangerous for the child to be sat at. Even with a high chair (which was never offered) he wouldn’t be anywhere near the table to be able to reach. The careless placing of us with a young child clearly visible to what I assume was shift manager was beyond me and with no thought of his safety when dining in their restaurant, as we were shown to the table menus thrown down and told to order via the app before she quickly cleared off. We then asked an employee passing us to move to a more appropriate table and they found and finally cleared a table that was filthy from the moment we arrived until we were moved to sit at that table. We ordered via the app and then waited around 30 mins for our drinks to be brought over as waitress Michelle (who was a saint) came and checked if we had our drinks yet and said the ticket had been chucked but she will sort it out for us. We then waited another 45 mins for the food to come out, was impressed by the food itself can’t fault that. But after as part of the kids meal you get a kids pudding, we asked what looked like shift manager if we could order as the app didn’t include that option and she said she would be back in 2 mins, she then continued to walk past us many of times and serve plenty of other tables and people around us and ignored us. We then asked a second staff member to try and sort this pudding with our 1 year old now getting agitated by being sat nicely at the table for so long and it still wasn’t put through until Michelle came to clear our plates and asked if we had ordered anything else and then sorted the pudding after another long 30 mins wait for ice cream and chocolate sauce. A total stay of nearly 2.30 hours on top of being at riverside hub for 2.30 hours meaning I am now expecting a ticket through in the coming week for being their over 4 hours due to a lengthy wait time for anything in the harvester. Not impressed overall!!!

We had a fantastic dining experience at Harvester today. We were served by Michelle, who was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The menu had some amazing vegan and vegetarian options. The grilled halloumi tacos were the absolute highlight—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. A must-try for anyone visiting! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great service, a welcoming atmosphere, and delicious dishes. Will definitely be back, especially for a Sundae!

Not great service, sat waiting for plates to be cleared for 30mins after asking for them to be taken away. Staff never came to ask for our desert order. It seems they just want everyone to use their app and self serve, which is not well designed and difficult to use when ordering for a large party (6 people). Won’t be rushing back here. There are better options in the area.

So very impressed with the service and level of care. I went with my little 3 year old and they couldn't be more accomodating. We were seated quickly, food was delivered promptly, all questions were answered with patience and all done with a big smile. Our lovely servers (one I believe was called Sam) were just lovely. We were allowed to tweak this to suit us all. The food was excellent and everyone remarked how much they enjoyed the whole evening. We had our own waiters/waitresses who all did a great job. It was a very memorable occasion made possible by all involved at the Saracens Head. Thank you.

Friendly staff and reasonably-priced food, but the food quality is very mediocre (perhaps to be expected from a Green King pub). Nothing seemed homemade. Whilst service was generally good, the deserts took ages to arrive. All in all it was OK, but there are better places to eat in Towcester.

We had a room on the top floor to the front of the building. Unfortunately the weather turned very hot during our stay so we had the window open all night but it was very noisy. Maybe I should have asked to change rooms but I didn't. However the room - although small - had everything we needed. There was plenty of hot water and the shower was good. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff members we met were friendly and efficient. Very good breakfast and reasonably priced evening meals. If we were to go there again I would ask for a room to the rear of the hotel...and not on the top floor.

The staff were very attentive and professional, not once we had to leave the table to get their attention, they were all very polite and a pleasure to deal with, The food was excellent, the sharing nachos with pulled pork were delicious, the pulled pork on them was well flavoured and tender. The steak was cooked to perfection, the meat melts in your mouth, the mushroom sauce was outstanding, one of the best I’ve had , the chips and onion rings were crispy and not greasy. The sticky toffee pudding was a delight to eat. If we come back to the area, we will definitely return to dine here again. We all left very pleased with everything.

We did not stay in the hotel, so I can't comment there, but the building is super cute, so we would check it out next time we are here.

Myself and my husband have recently had our wedding at The Saracens Head - Towcester. We had the absolute perfect day, the events manager Kerry and the team went above and beyond to make our day go as planned. The room was honestly so beautiful the decor was truly lovely, it was very clean and bed was very comfy. Gastropub
Located in the picturesque village of Brafield-on-the-Green near Northampton, The Red Lion is a 17th-century British pub offering a blend of traditional charm and contemporary dining experience. The interior boasts stone walls, wooden floors, and county maps adorning the walls. Outside, there's an alfresco dining area with outdoor games for entertainment.
Very nice pub and lovely atmosphere. For me the food is the best part, we come here all the time and it’s never disappointed once. Also the owner is super friendly! I would highly recommend the themed nights that they do as it’s fun to try different fusion dishes.

Stopped by for an early evening meal and wanted to sit outside. We were thinking about pubs with nice outdoor seating areas and remembered this one. Had some nibbles to start then had three very nice mains. A classic Caesar salad with chicken red Thai curry with chicken and Sticky Korean Glazed Pork Belly, all great meals. I would recommend any of these.

We went last night for the set Valentine's menu, it was absolutely gorgeous 😍 we also did the wine pairing which was offered. The meal was beautiful, presentation fantastic, staff very nice and attentive, but not too intrusive. The owner is a lovely guy, who takes the time to have a natter with you, love this, made to feel very welcome. This is our third time of visiting and really looking forward to going again soon. Please pass on our thanks to your chef and kitchen brigade as the food was outstanding 👌

Thank you guys for a great night. We came close to the closing time and they were very kind to still service, and serve was very well. That steak was very good we did not expect it to be that good, especially since, they had to rush because we came late . It was well done juicy chewy but definitely cooked well.

We visited this restaurant with friends. The place was very cosy and not that busy for Sunday night. We have been politely met and escorted to our table. Our waitress Chloe greater us friendly and patiently took our order and even wrote the cocktail menu because the actual menu was not available at that point, really good effort. The food was great, just worth mentioning that not all items on the menu were available, but we were notified straight away. Sunday roast was great, Caesar salad portion was largely full of flavour. Overall great experience 9.5/10

I am a little picky when it comes to Sunday Roasts in Restaurants however this Sunday lunch was superb. I had the roast beef and it was cooked very well. My wife had the pork which was also very tasty. The vegetables were also cooked superbly, not hard but not soggy, just right. All in all, along with the excellent service, it was very good. Prices were also very reasonable

We visited for a Sunday lunch and booked to use the new Garden room. It was very pleasant, light and airy, and comfy for temperature. Staff were all very good, and we felt, looked after. Would look to another visit in the future. One slight comment, the food could ideally be hotter.

It's been a long time since our last visit here. Upon arrival we entered the bar area which was lovely, the staff were very friendly and attentive. We were shown to our table and given menus. The only issue they we had with this was the choice. On the website the choice is a lot bigger than in the pub. The manager really needs to update this We did order our meals one was 5oz steak with blue cheese sauce fries the other was a chicken burger in a brioche bun, rum sauce monterack cheese tomato lettuce fries, both dishes were really good. I would recommend this pub it's good☺️

After a little shopping trip in the morning; we went looking for somewhere to eat. We eventually found this place and had a Quick Look at the menu before going in. It wasn’t too busy; and had a really nice atmosphere. We both Ordered the Breakfast with a side of white toast which was really good; only thing for me was I wish the toast was warmer to spread butter on easier. Service was really good also; from sitting down to leaving. We was seen to in a timely manner; and food arrived not long after that. My only small gripe was the selection on soft fizzy drinks. I personally don’t drink coke; so I went with the “Victorian Lemonade” which was more sour than refreshing. Paid £25 for two meals and two drinks. Portion size felt a bit small at first but for the quality products you receive it’s definitely worth it. Will visit again when I’m next in Northampton.

Been coming here for years but the last visit was unfortunately the last. Unaware food finished at 2pm but arrived just before food had stopped, ordered two jacket potatoes and two sausage bagels for the kids. Jackets were quite small with a bit of side salad and chicken mayo filling, but okay, tasted fine but nothing amazing and bagels were standard for the kids. Ordered four soft drinks to go with it and was a bit surprised the bill was nearly £60 . The prices were never that expensive and portion sizes very much reduced. Customer were entering just after 2pm and told no more food, I think you might need their custom with those prices. On the positive, the serving staff were lovely .

Very nice and cozy place. Staff super nice and friendly. Very inviting atmosphere. Coffee was quite nice. Food was little bit underwhelming in presentation, taste was just ok. Definitely could hear microwave after order so it says a lot about preparation process. Overall can recommend. Would come again for nice cup of coffee.

Fabulous little independent café along the best street in Northampton. Very friendly, quick and professional service. Amazing fry up and lattes. The hunters jacket potato is also excellent. Lovely homemade cake selections. Modern decor. We will definitely be back, I love to support local shops/cafés - especially when they do things right. Highly recommended 👌

Nestled in a picturesque grassy meadow, The Thornhill Arms is a charming family-run pub and restaurant that has breathed new life into the local community since its opening in 2020. This delightful establishment was transformed from an old farm building, making it a unique spot to unwind. With its spacious garden that far exceeds the size of the pub itself, visitors can enjoy stunning views over the surrounding fields while sipping on their favorite drinks.
This pub looks small from the outside, but it's actually quite large and has a nice garden. When we went inside, it felt like we were in someone's home. It's a very cozy and intimate place. I would definitely go again.

Great little pub, very nice inside and out and service was great. Some nice deals on food but some of the drink prices were very questionable being 3 - 4 x higher than shop prices. Overall though a great place.

We arranged a late afternoon private gathering of about 50 people with 30 buffet ordered. Such a lovely friendly and cosy place. A side room offered seating for about 30 and the main bar 20. Food absolutely fantastic and service excellent. Good selection of drinks including real ales. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommend.

Called in for lunch and were seated very quickly and ordered ,a lovely member of staff brought us our drinks and the menu. We settled down to wait for the meal,we were at this time the only diners, however two others came in with two dogs which started barking,we asked to move and went to another room. We had a good meal with no problems it was very nice, we shared the pudding it was delicious. Now the only downside to this experience was that the two dogs in the other dining room barked, howled and were very noisy throughout our stay albeit they were in another dining room, and as far as I am aware nothing was said to them by the staff or owner. Back to basics, the meal and pudding excellent the staff, excellent. Will we go back yes providing there are no yapping dogs.

Last Saturday lunchtime my wife and I called in at the Thornhill Arms. I hadn't been in for years but had heard it was now being run as a proper pub rather than the restaurant it used to be. What a mistake we made. We were the only customers but we still ended up waiting about ten minutes and nobody attempted to serve us, despite a member of staff behind the bar being able to see us waiting. Eventually I moved through into the other bar to seek service where I was greeted by a female staff member who's tone of voice towards me made me feel more like an unwanted intruder than a customer. When I explained that I wanted to buy some drinks her only response was a rather aggressive statement informing me that no food was being served. Eventually we managed to obtain two drinks. A pint of lager for my wife when we had asked for a half, and a pint of craft ale for me which, despite the barmaid's assurance that it was okay, turned out to be disgusting and undrinkable. When I returned my pint I was then charged full price for a pint of cider, no allowance being made for the undrinkable pint. Safe to say we shall not be rushing back.

Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. This charming little pub has so much potential, but sadly, it fell short on multiple fronts during our visit. The food simply didn’t live up to expectations and wasn’t worth the trip or money! Service was particularly lacking, the staff seemed inattentive throughout the evening. Despite the pub not being especially busy, we waited far too long without being checked on, and at no point were we asked if everything was okay or offered another round of drinks. Perhaps the team was undertrained or short-staffed, because both the girls were lovely, but maybe they just had too much going on? either way, the service left much to be desired. It’s a real shame, as I genuinely hoped this would be a great little spot for a relaxed evening meal. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning and I wouldn’t feel confident recommending it to others at this stage

Called in on the off-chance for Sunday lunch without a reservation. The bar is exceptionally cosy, with a log fire burning. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. We dined in the Orangery. I loved the little homemade loaves of bread they kicked off with. Opted for the beef and lamb roasts. I wish I’d stopped to take photos, because both were very good, with a decent selection of vegetables and a wonderful freshly-made Yorkshire pudding. Also felt exceptionally good value too. Regarding drinks: London Pride on-tap was a great touch too. All-in-all, happy to recommend and return.

Lovely village pub that has had received AA food excellency rosette for numerous years. Menu is varied and rich, service is friendly, prices reasonable. We unfortunately couldn't make it in time to the pub on time before the kitchen closed-two years ago. So now while having a good summer, we made an effort to stay in the campsite nearby and we made sure to book a table. The pub gets very busy and reservations are advised. Very much enjoyed the reproductions of famous historic pictures relating to the history of the village, especially Mary Queen of Scots.

We visited this weekend, with family. What a thriving place - it was really busy, and had a good atmosphere. We had chance to have a drink in the bar, near the fire - before we were seated for our dinner. We were seated in the conservatory area. The decor was really good, with some interesting decorations dotted all around - with a nice view into the garden. There was a good selection of meals to choose from. I would have loved to have had a selection of some of the bar snacks, as the sausage roll and scotch egg sounded fantastic. Most of our group ordered pie, I chose the lamb roast. Everyone was pleased with their choices. Everything was very tasty - especially the cauliflower cheese. The only very tiny criticism is that I'd have liked just a little more lamb. The cheese board was really good - with a decent amount of cheese, and crackers to go with it. The service was spot on - and the owner was really lovely. We will definitely return, especially for the Guinness loaf (don't tell everyone, but you can preorder these and have a whole loaf to take away)

Tried pie night Monday, had a vegan pie was very nice, could have added some pulses please?! Decor left a lot to be desired in bar area where we sat as it is fog friendly, lighting needs some adjustments too. Will go again for pie night. Oh was funny, we sat and enjoyed our wine, at 4.50, as kitchen opens at 5.00, but we weren't allowed a menu to look at until 5.00 either 😂 found that amusing.

One of my favourite pubs. Beautiful quaint building in a picture postcard village. Excellent proper home cooked food (no premade Brakes stuff). I think they make their own bread and crisps. Lots of quality locally sourced produce. Staff are extremely welcoming. Normally quite pricey but they do specials on a Monday (pie Monday) and Friday (fish and chips) for a tenner! Gets busy at weekends but quiet on weekdays. I recommend!

Such a fabulous pub. We popped in for a drink one Friday evening and couldn't resist eating, as the food all looked fantastic. We sat out in the garden and everything was delicious. The fish and chips was outstanding, with perfectly cooked fish and batter that was crispy, but light as a feather. Perfect!! Service was brilliant, with just the right level of attention. I forgot to take any pictures, but I'll remember next time!! Very highly recommended.

I took my partner here for her birthday and we absolutely loved the whole dining experience. We sat in the more formal seating area and found it very comfortable. We ordered from the al a carte menu. The dishes were cooked so so well, they were full of flavour that was well balanced and perfectly paired. They were presented perfectly too. The portion sizes were spot on and the desserts were really tasty too. It was a delight to eat here. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were really attentive and checked to see how everything was a couple times throughout. It was a great relaxing evening. I couldn't think of anything I would change about the food or our dining experience. So that speaks volumes. You can really see why they have 2 rosettes. We will be back to try the fish and chips some point soon. I think we have found our favourite local pub now.

Nestled in the heart of Northampton, Nuovo Restaurant is a contemporary Italian eatery that effortlessly combines elegance with a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for date nights. The restaurant specializes in cicchetti, which are delightful small sharing plates that encourage conversation and connection. Diners can indulge in a variety of authentic Italian flavors, starting with fresh breads and olives, followed by delectable pasta dishes, succulent meats and fish, and finishing off with mouthwatering desserts.
Visited for the first time with a couple of friends. We ordered a few dishes each, the waiter was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is decorated very well and the food was amazing. I’ve not tried Italian cicchetti before, which is a bit like tapas where you order a few dishes per person. Totally recommend the steak, broccoli and prawns.

Transported to a special little slice Italy The people, lighting and, of course, the food were by far the best dining experience I’ve had in Northamptonshire (and beyond). We were welcomed by the owner, Stewart, as soon as we came through the door. Our waiter Charlie, suggested the best combination of small plates based on our preferences and each dish was amazing. A twist on classics that made each feel reinvented. Multiple staff members checked up on us throughout the night with genuine care and conversation. Each dressed impeccably. I was recommended this place by a client at work and I was so glad to be told about this absolutely amazing place. The service was stellar from start to finish. I don't think I have had so many people attend to just one table before. Anything we asked for was dealt with so promptly and politely I was so impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the music playing whilst we ate was apt. Our food was flawless through three courses. As I chef I find it very hard to get food up to a certain standard but this was an exception. I can't recommend this place enough and will be returning asap. The arancini was so good, seasoned perfectly and looked beautiful. My beef ragu was stunning.. a depth of flavour that I thoroughly enjoyed. My partners lasagne was amazing and not a scrap was left by either of us. I ordered lemon tart which came with a shot of lemon cello and it was to die for and looked so pretty. My partner polished her brownie in record time. The bill was just under a hundred pounds which was good considering we had multiple drinks. Bravo for being so on point to all the staff and owner. We will be back asap..thanks so much we are truly happy customers.

I would certainly recommend this restaurant. It doesn’t look much from the outside but don’t let that put you off. It’s fantastic!! Beautifully furnished and the food was sensational. We had the fish platter and lobster ravioli, and it was served beautifully. Having been lucky enough to eat at some top fish restaurants, this was up there with the best. The service was attentive and the young waiters and waitresses were polite, and the uniforms were smart but not old fashioned. They also knew the menu and worked well as a team. I was impressed it was fully booked for a Wednesday night and being able to book via Google was so simple. This place is relaxed, but has a nice ambiance with decent clientele making it a sophisticated atmosphere. Thank you for making my sons birthday memorable. The facts: for 3 to eat starter and main course with 2 soft drinks and one beer : £120 Parking: ok, mainly road or in the church which is tight and not for a nervous driver. Outside has no bearing on the interior so don’t be put off. Worth paying for as it’s a great food experience.

I just had my wedding dinner two days ago at Sorrentino and I couldn't be happier with choosing this place to my (and my husband) dinner venue! Since the first contact a couple months ago until the very end Carlo and the whole team were amazing! The place itself is beautiful and perfect for a small gathering. We had 28 people overall and everyone were comfortable and had a great time. The food was terrific and all our guests enjoyed it. We could decorate the area as we liked it and Morgan (the front door person) was brilliant helping us on the day and setting the tables the way we discussed previously. I highly recommend Sorrentino for your special day or just for a nice well done meal.

Can't believe I've lived in Northampton most my life and I've only just discovered Sorrentino! If you love Italian- you must try. Rustic restaurant, across 2 floors. It got pretty busy towards the evening so would recommend booking. Me and my friend went early and took advantage of the early bird menu which is really good value for money. (Not sure whether this is available all week or set days). The portion sizes are generous and the food was delicious! We had 2 bottles of wine and 3 courses and it came to just over £80 altogether. This was my third visit since October and whilst the food was good on the first 2 visits, the most recent visit was genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Everything was next level. The turkey and cranberry scotch egg was incredible and I don’t like scotch egg usually. The flat iron was seasoned with black garlic and I couldn’t get enough of it and it was cooked to perfection. The sticky toffee pudding was also awesome and I’ve had this before at the sister restaurant Ember. The staff are super friendly and very attentive. Ignore the negative reviews. You can’t please everyone. I would highly recommend a visit.

### Wonderful Dining Experience Under New Ownership I recently dined at this restaurant with a friend, and it was nothing short of wonderful. The recent change in ownership has clearly brought a breath of fresh air to the place. The food was amazing and truly lived up to the hype. Each dish was a delight, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The new chef/owner has a real talent for creating great tasting food that exceeds expectations. I can't wait to see what new additions will appear on the menu in the future. If the current offerings are any indication, we're in for a treat. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience!

Stopped off for a quick bite and decided to get a few starters for lunch as the menu sounded good. Staff as friendly as ever and the food was incredible. The crab tacos were insanely good, the scotch egg was lovely and soft with a runny yolk and it was so nice to see padron peppers on a menu in England. I know the pub was recently taken over and still in a transition period, but it's already a great place to go for food and drinks. The outside garden was perfect on a warm summer's day

Absolutely outstanding roast! I had the triple and my wife had the roast beef. We came in for a late serving but the beef was still perfect, beautifully pink and succulent. They nailed every aspect on the plate including the delicious cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. High praise to their Chefs and very attentive members of staff.

Brilliant! They were able to accommodate our large party with great service. Everyone had roasts which were brilliant. The meat on one of the Beef Roasts was sub par but the others were great. The pork roast was the best I’ve had in a long time. A busy bar area with friendly atmosphere. Prices were reasonable. Would go again.

June Plum is a charming Jamaican restaurant located in Wellingborough, offering a vibrant and relaxed atmosphere with island-inspired decor. The menu features authentic Jamaican dishes made from scratch on-site, including original recipes for curry powder, jerk marinade, and more. Customers rave about the fantastic and tasty food, with some even mentioning that they could taste the passion put into each dish. From savory options like jerk pork green banana tots to delightful desserts, June Plum offers a delectable dining experience.
We ate here last night and I loved every second of it. The staff are all so friendly. The owner is so friendly. The atmosphere is so amazing. The food is so good. I had the curry goat, with rice and peas. Hands down, one of the best curry I have ever had. It really, really reminded me of my mother’s cooking, something I have been missing in recent times. My only complaint is I discovered this restaurant and they are closing down in a few months!! Thank you, to the chef that made our food; the staff that served us. What a gem.

Absolutely terrible food. Avoid! Today I ordered from what appeared to be a lovely Caribbean takeaway. Food was delivered via Just Eat in a good amount of time. All of the food was hot when it turned up and that's where it went downhill. The food was terrible. The Rice & Pea was mushy and had no seasoning, the curried goat (if you can call it that) had no spice, covered in grease and was so salty it was inedible. The Salt fish dumplings didn’t taste of fish at all and the patty's (again, if you can call them that) were horrific. The Beef one was like an English beef mince in gravy, no spice at all! The pastry crust which was obviously home made didn’t resemble what a patty should be, no flaky shell and didn’t taste right. The Jamaican chicken looks like it had been sat under a hot light for the last week, also inedible! I come from the part of the UK with a massive Jamaican/Caribbean community so I’ve eaten a lot of Caribbean/Jamaican food before, and I’m shocked this has been passed off as Caribbean food. The owner/chef/server should hang their head in shame! All the food went straight in the bin! I won’t be ordering from here again! ___________________________________ Response to the owner! The order number is 372063950 (screen shot included) stop playing silly games, you know you made the food today! It was under a different name but I'm sure you've not made the order above for anyone else today! Regarding your comments around it not being suited to my palate, I've had better Jamaican Patty's from a service station on the M1! You know what you sent out didn't meet any standards! I've looked at your reviews and it appears you only care about your in-house food served in your restaurant as the poor reviews are mainly takeaways! Maybe someone else needs to take over the responsibility of responding to reviews because this isn’t the right way to handle a poor review left by a customer who spent £40 to throw it in the bin!

I have been wanting to go to June Plum for ages and wow was it worth the wait. I can see why this restaurant has such a great reputation. The menu is great and has a good variety for all food requirements, cocktails were tasty and ambiance was good, but I would've preferred to be downstairs personally as upstairs is quite small. Would highly recommend 👌🏻

I typically order JP as a delivery, but wanted to have a nice evening dinner a couple nights ago. Really enjoyed the new Jerk chicken spring roll. Had wanted to try the homemade Guinness Punch but unfortunately it was sold out that night. There was a bit of a service wait on the food and drinks at times too. Overall the food still was amazing and would eat there again, perhaps at a less busy time of day in the week

I was cold when I walked in , but hot when I left! Food is BANGING! Stopped for lunch and basically left with heavy eyes for the rest of the day! Wholesome good food... Curry goat was seasoned perfectly, no salt n pepper involved at the table 😅, goat was so tender 😩😩🤯🤤🤤. Dumplings I normally prefer them a bit sweet, but still... Banging! The plantain... Shut uuuuuup! Sweet, crispy and delicious. Oh and the home made ginger beer packs a punch! Love it! Will defo be back. 🤤

Very welcoming and relaxing and the food was delicious and authentic. Huge range for vegans which is why we initially booked. Ordering was easy done via barcode scan and selecting on phone even option to pay via PayPal which we found good. The food portions were large and we were able to box up and take home what wasn't eaten there, which was quite a lot as wanted to try everything! 🙈 will deffo be returning and highly recommend!

Have eaten here a few times over the years, always a good experience. Staff are attentive, and the food very nice. Recommend the steak and ale pudding - puff pastry crust was perfect.

Quite pricy for mediocre food and an almost bland, forgettable atmosphere. Billed as one of the better quality and certainly pricier restaurants in the area it should offer standout service and food, unfortunately neither were on offer. We ordered the chicken and prosciutto balottene, smoked pork strips with a side of fries. For dessert the Pina Colada posset and triple ice cream. A nice selection but everything was just a bit off. The chicken was overcooked and a little dry requiring a heavy coating of jus to be enjoyable. The fries had an overused oil taste... either the oil needed refreshing or the fryer wasn't hot enough. And the posset was more mousse and the shortbread was inedible leaving a rancid aftertaste. (One of the diners is a professional baker and she was far from impressed by this!) The pork strips were nice but not great, the same with the ice cream. All of this was raised with the waiting staff who seemed somewhat disinterested. The decor of the restaurant is ultimately forgettable and almost feels like a cheap knock-off of a chain restaurant. There's a few nice touches, the white gloves used when delivering food to the table is great (not seen since Silver Service training many moons ago), but its offset by the cheaply laminated drinks menus. It obviously wants to be a high class restaurant but unfortunately it stumbles in its execution.

Disappointed ☹️ 10 of us seated in the garden, knowing they get busy 2 people in the party checked with staff that we'd be okay to order food. They served us drinks, gave us menus and brought a highchair for the little one. Went to order and were told they'd stopped serving outside. No warning! Although they argued they'd told us. No they hadn't, perhaps another group but not ours. We'd ordered drinks safe in the knowledge that they were able to serve us, as we'd been assured TWICE that that was the case. No apology! When it was suggested it was bad service the response was "Well I don't think it's bad!" Which only made it seem worse. We'd bought drinks because we were going to eat there. We had to leave them to go elsewhere as it was getting later in the evening and we still needed to find somewhere to eat. Such a shame, as this venue offers a lovely outdoor space.

Went for Sunday Lunch to celebrate ours and my parents anniversary’s. On arrival there was a large wedding party taking photos just as you came through the door. ( This made getting to book in very difficult as even when politely asked to let us through they continued taking photos and blocking the entrance area. ( I understand that it is a wedding Venue but maybe a better idea to gather wedding parties away from the restaurant entrance) Once we were seated we waited an awful long time for our drinks , when they arrived the waitress proceeded to miss the water glass and pour all over the table! We had been asked that we sat and they brought drinks to us but would have been better to have purchased from the bar because we ended up having to chase our drinks. Service was slow and sloppy. Our mains arrived minus any of our party having roast potatoes. By the time we had managed to get somebody’s attention and ask for potatoes two of the party had nearly finished their meals. Onto Coffee which took over 30 minutes to arrive. My Tia Maria coffee arrived with 80% of the cream in the saucer and down the glass. I wasn’t even offered another napkin to mop the mess up! Good job I carry tissues! Considering what you pay for a Sunday Lunch the service and care was very mediocre.

Nestled in the heart of Northampton, Akasaka has been delighting diners since its inception in 2014. This charming eatery specializes in authentic Japanese cuisine, offering a diverse menu that boasts over 120 delectable options. From fresh sushi and sashimi to grilled dishes and tempura, there's something for everyone—meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans alike will find plenty to savor. Akasaka stands out not only for its extensive selection but also for its inviting atmosphere.
One of the best Korean & Japanese Restaurants I've been to. Waiting for food was minimal, staff was excellent and friendly, the tofu was fantastic! A true 💎 Gem. Plenty of vegan healthy options to choose from. Parking around the street can be found but might need to look for a bit. Truly worth visiting!

Went for the first time on Saturday night. Service was prompt without rushing us and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant wasn't packed but was probably 3/4 full by the end of the evening. The food we ordered was lovely - we had starters including the soft shell crab and chicken gyoza. My main was eel in Teriyaki sauce, which was well-cooked, piping hot and well-presented. All in all, I couldn't fault it. We all had a lovely evening and are planning another visit, to sample some of their Korean dishes.

We came here expecting some good and healthy Asian food but ended up being so disappointed. Some sushi we ordered wasn’t that great. But the worst part is the noodles. We ordered 1 stir-fried and 1 noodle soup. Both are showered in oil. My husband said the stir-fried beef noodles was too sweet but the beef was too salty at the same time. My ramen was the worst noodles ever I have ever eaten, fully covered with oil and had no flavour, I could barely eat. You can come and try something else if you want but wouldn’t recommend these noodles. Waiting time is a bit long also.

I visited Akasaka with my colleagues, first time for them and they all enjoyed the food. It was really quiet though, I hope business picks up for them as I really like going when I am in Northampton. Worked out around £30 pp for starters and main courses each. I think it’s pretty good value as the portions are pretty big too.

Welcomed by Jasmine on our arrival and promptly seated, despite the fact we were early! Jasmine and Kelly took very good care of us throughout, which was great because we had no idea what we were doing! Jasmine was able to advise on dishes and beverages which was really helpful. Food and drinks arrived promptly, and the food was perfectly cooked, looked fabulous and tasted delicious. Prices were reasonable and the menu has a good selection to suit most people. Highly recommended! 😎

Nice little Japorea restaurant with good selection of Japanese and Korean staples; probably best sushi/sashimi in town. Was there during quiet period so can’t comment on atmosphere, but ambience was relaxed.

This is our second visit and had great food both times. We made a booking as it was close to Christmas and they called us on the day to check we were still coming. Fair enough. The food was quick and all fresh and tasty. The sushi was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. It was traditional rather than fusion or modern. But it was good. All the mains were yummy although I had the pork katsu curry and the meat was a little tough but after some curry sauce and steaming rice it was still very nice. Great miso soup. The prawn tempura was crispy and succulent. We spent £180 for 6 people although none of us drunk alcohol.

The food was good especially the agedashi tofu, everything I ordered agreed with me and it was my first time trying anything Korean or Japanese. The staff were nice and the food did not take time to be served at all, I was impressed. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, it gives a cosy vibe. Based on my experience today I'd say, It's a good place to eat if you are looking to try something new.

Hops and Chops is a hidden gem in Northampton, serving as the perfect sister establishment to The Smoke Pit. This delightful eatery showcases an impressive selection of meats daily, proudly displayed near the bar. Diners can indulge in mouthwatering steaks and expertly grilled dishes, all while enjoying a variety of sauces and sides that elevate the steak night experience. Absolutely phenomenal food and service. All cooked from scratch. Perfect cocktails. The meat is the best I’ve ever eaten. Steaks aged for 28 days and all the sides were delicious. The Korean belly pork with kimchi was amazing.

Such a lovely treat for my birthday! Great food and friendly service. Room was a little cold but the delicious cocktail and background music kept me warm! Looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu, we shared the kimchi belly pork starter, next time I'm having one to myself as it was delicious! I had 28 day aged ribeye steak which was so tender with yummy tobacco onions and beef fat chips. He had the swordfish with prawns and greenlip mussels and a broth, all was very delicious. We shared a pudding of skillet cookie with caramel ice cream, yes please! Well done guys, what a find! 🌟⭐

Great place, never been in here before. The food was amazing, I ordered from the festive menu,it was like a Christmas meal to share. You got a starter each and then the main to share. We came early afternoon so there wasn't many people in there, but it was still lovely.

There was only our party present, however, it is nicely decorated and you could imagine a buzz if others were present. The food was well presented and the Server ensured the 3 year old had activities to amuse her as well as food so she was not waiting for us to finish the 1st course. We chose meals we would not necessarily cook at home. 6 Oysters, slipped down well followed by a 10oz skirt steak for me with a red wine and marrow jus; ideal for dunking the chunky crispy chips. My son had the Octopus with Chorizo and risotto. A beautiful dish. The 3 year old had home made chicken gougeons with skin on Fries and beans followed by a raspberry ice cream topped with fresh and freeze dried fruit and jus. Delightful. I tested the Server to make an Irish coffee which he mastered and helped to make my experience complete.

Visiting in Summer 2024, I really enjoyed visiting Hops and Chops. I had the filet steak with a side of seasonal greens and creamy mash potatoes which was excellent. Steak was perfectly cooked to my request and the mash and veg were delicious. The service was exceptional with our server having great banter and helpful in recommending dinner options. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding which was perfectly portioned and really tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would visit again.

Had dinner here and generally it was a good experience. Decent food, with some things being outstanding like the Korean Belly Pork. Got very good service from the guys behind the bar who did their best to help us out. A slight negative was the inflexibility of the ordering system. I wanted to swap out the side that came with my main for another. This was however not possible although I could order it as an extra. didn't bother in the end as it would have been wasting food. Otherwise it was a good experience and again hats off to the guys who served us.

First class steaks and food, excellent service and a nice modern interior. Recommend the Korean pork bites to start and the rib eye steak. Great price.
Jason P — Google review
Seated at first table which was sticky so moved to the next table. Starters took ages to come out and the bone marrow was not as described and inedible. Steak was cooked really well but it did not wow us. Also trying to get waiters attention was difficult he was photographing food which meant we had to raise our voice to get his attention. Miller and Carter is a better choice . More focus on food than social media, not sure it is worth the money.

Nestled in the charming village of Kislingbury, The Sun Inn is a quintessential country pub that captures the essence of traditional Northamptonshire hospitality. With its rustic cabinet-style bar and inviting open fireplaces, this cozy spot is perfect for unwinding after a long day. Families will appreciate the dedicated children's play area, while summer visitors can enjoy delightful barbecue offerings on the expansive patio.
I hired the function room (The Barn) for my wife's 40th Suprise Party. Meghan and Daniella took me through the options and made the process really easy. They also recommended an event styling company of whom they had worked with before, and she was amazing too. The place looked absolutely fab and the party guests all commented positively. I opted for the BBQ package and the food was delicious. They also cated for some of our Vegan and Vegetarian guest. The one and only very small issue and my reason for the reduced star on the service side, was that on a number of occassions, we had to go into the main bar to get someones attention to serve our guests in the funtion room bar. Maybe they were short staffed that night and busy, but they were all still very nice and pleasant. All in all, I would highly recommend the Sun Inn if you need somewhere to have a party/wedding in lovely surroundings.

We visited The Sun Inn for a meal and drinks on a Friday evening. We'd won a meal for 2 with wine voucher in a raffle so thought we'd have a bit of a date night. Unfortunately on arrival we discovered that we had booked our romantic night out on the same evening they were holding a Sixth Formers party. The pub was heaving and there was a band on. Thankfully as we'd pre-booked we were given a nice table in a cosy corner. But the band playing for the party were so loud we could hardly hear ourselves speak. Obviously this is not the fault of the pub, it's just unfortunate our romantic night out didn't work out as such. As the pub was so busy, service was quite slow.It was a good 15 minutes before someone took our drinks order and another 15 minutes before they were brought to our table. Food was also slow coming out but when it did it was very good. We ordered a portion of nachos to share as a starter and they were honestly the best nachos I've ever had. Fluffy but crunchy and absolutely loaded with toppings. It was then another long wait for our mains to come out. Again, worth it though as the food was delicious. My husband had a steak and I had swordfish. Both meals were cooked to perfection and very, very tasty. We didn't bother with desert as nothing really took our fancy so we asked for the bill. Overall we had a night out, some nice wine and some delicious food. We will definitely be returning, just hopefully on a quieter evening next time!

A lovely village pub. Very busy, especially during peak times which means it can be a battle to find a seat inside however there is plenty of seating outside which is fine for nice weather. Drinks were reasonably priced although pricier than other local pubs nearby. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

We eat and drink here regularly. It’s lovely cosy and sometimes lively pub. Good food, and the staff are always friendly and quick to serve. This year we had our work Summer BBQ here. The manager, Danni was so helpful and patient with my ever changing needs. The food provided was fantastic. We’ve never had such good finger food left over at the end. There was so much of it and it kept coming out. Thanks Danni and staff.

A really lovely venue, a very great menu with some really interesting dishes. A good selection of beer and other drinks, was warm and welcoming. Would have been 4 stars however for the price the food could have been a little better, mainly the steak was a bit fatty and when pointed out to the staff they were barely apologetic, and more had a 'oh well' attitude. Would go back and give it another go.

Mediocre food. Waited almost 15 minutes to get served at the bar for another drink after eating - they started serving people that had clearly been waiting a shorter time than me. First time dining here. Really enjoyed it. For a silly reason, we went against the grain and order 4 plus dishes per person and whilst we ate it all, I was feeling a little worse for wear the following day due to a food hangover. Despite my over eating, the food was superb and the staff were great. I would thoroughly recommend. P.s stick to 2-3 dishes. 👍

One of the most enjoyable evenings out food wise in a while. Follow the suggestions on the menu and you can't go wrong. Great flavours and a huge variety of dishes served in a "Tappas" style. Plenty of time to share and enjoy at a very reasonable price, the staff were attentive without being pushy and everything was served fresh and hot (not the ice cream) This is one we will definitely be back to as there are way too many dishes to cover in one night. For those who are interested the meal for 4 including deserts and two bottles of wine came to £135.

Lovely little bakery! We enjoyed a fantastic pistachio cruffin and the Mediterranean lamb scotch egg, both absolutely delicious! Tasty coffee too.

This bakery is really impressive. Their sandwiches and coffee are consistently high quality every time I visit. I always leave feeling very satisfied Apart from the double egg & cheese sandwich and chai latte, which are my must-orders every time, this time I also tried their pistachio cappuccino, so delicious!

Always love a visit here, limited selection of toasties but they are always amazing and never disappoint! In fact on this visit I wanted to try each of them!! The marshmallows are also homemade and perfect with a hot chocolate! My only complaint is not room left to buy cake!!

Sat outside with my amazing breakfast sandwich (toasted sausage and egg) and tea. What it lacks in size it more than makes up for it in quality! A cosy a sweet little shop with friendly staff! 🥇

Can't let Sunday pass without having a Scotch Egg here. Absolutely amazing taste. The coffee is wonderful too. I really like how they make the iced latte a bit fluffy on top and by blending the ice, coffee and milk together.

Lovely little local bakery in the heart of the community. Small number of tables to eat in, or can take away. Has good coffee and tea options and variety of baked sweet and savoury treats, as well as a delicious sourdough!

What a find! Wish we loved in Northampton just so we could come here every day. As it is, it was the perfect round of to a week's narrowboating.

One of my favourite places in Northamptonshire! Tasty baked goods - especially the halloumi roll. Wish I lived nearby, I’d grab the sourdough all the time. Friendly customer service & really lovely community vibe when you come here. I wish the space was a little bigger, as when it’s busy it’s hard to get a seat and/or have to wait outside. Buuut new places are hard to rent, so this is more a wish than a complaint ❤️

The dining experience at The Griffins Head was exceptional. The assortment of meats on the roast trio was remarkable, with each component surpassing expectations. Unfortunately, the service fell short in terms of speed, resulting in a slight deduction in rating. Nevertheless, the food itself was outstanding and definitely warrants a return visit. If the service improves, it may even deserve an additional star. Special praise goes to the skilled chef responsible for such delectable dishes.
What a find. A stunning establishment offing a small well thought through menu of fine freshly prepared meals. Highly recommend for a special evening out. These were our starters of trout and lamb sausage. Definitely worth a visit.

Very nice food. Nice beer selection and very well priced. Staff are very very nice and polite and very friendly. Family working together and it’s just a lovely atmosphere.

We went here for a 60th birthday celebration and had the most amazing meal. The service was excellent, the atmosphere welcoming and the food was divine. Having had an array of dishes, all were exceptional, both the presentation and taste making it the most delightful experience. The sticky toffee pudding in particular was incredible - a taste bud sensation! I recommend a visit, and am already looking forward to my next visit.

The pub has changed hands and after a beautiful refurbishment and brand new kitchen , we were lucky enough to be able to book a table. The food is absolutely amazing. We went for a chicken parfait starter, followed by pork roast. All of it was devoured in minutes it was wonderful. The service was was excellent, very friendly and efficient and we cannot wait to come back

Just moved into the village and tried out the local pub for Sunday lunch. We were blown away by the excellent food, what a treat to have this in walking distance! Very friendly welcome too and excellent service. Can’t wait for them to serve food on more days!

Went for an evening meal and it was tremendous. It was the best meal we have had for a long time every course was perfect, it's not cheap but the prices are very fair for the quality you get and well worth it. Northants, for eating out, is sadly a bit of a world of mediocrity pretending to be quality this is a rare highlight that actually delivers.

I book for a lunchtime when the new owners had just taken over, I left my contact details. This afternoon, I checked in & asked for a menu, only to be told that they don’t do lunchtime food!!!! I now have to arrange a different venue for 30 hungry pensioners. What a shame that this pub can afford to turn away so many paying diners? I had heard so poor results, be had kept an open mind. So if your going to book here it’s EVENING ONLY.

The restaurant's lovely decor and great atmosphere make it an ideal setting for private events such as baby showers and birthdays. The attentive staff goes above and beyond to accommodate guests' needs, ensuring that every detail is taken care of.
Relaxing atmosphere that’s nicely decorated. I was worried it was too nice for us with kids but staff were really welcoming. Brunch was yummy and great portion sizes. Nice variety of food available. Little kids play section with sensory bits and mini kitchen.

Absolutely loved this brunch spot! Cozy, chic, and effortlessly stylish, it’s the perfect blend of high-profile elegance and welcoming vibes. Nariman’s customer service was pure magic—friendly, attentive, and a total breath of fresh air. The food was gorgeous, bursting with flavor, and the prices were fantastic. A must-visit for anyone craving a brunch that wows.

Although the portion sizes are what you’d expect from a French restaurant, the food was very nice - by far the best frog’s legs I’ve ever had! The service was excellent (especially Marcus!) and the decor is lovely. Would definitely come back again.

Even our chef was accommodating to requests. I thoroughly recommend a visit. As i will definitely be returning to this northampton gem! Update: I'm now a regular and will just leave it to the photos I add to speak for themselves 😉 Update: came in for my Xmas dinner, my short rib melted in my mouth

Booked to go for a birthday family dinner. It’s definitely somewhere I will try again. When we booked, there was another really big party there, the restaurant realistically should have been booked out as it was a big party with a lot of children, that is the only reason I’m giving it a 3 for atmosphere, when I go back, this will I’m hopeful, change. However, service was great, the staff was really lovely, it’s a nice place and can see it does good brunches. The food was really good, we got the sharing board as a starter and main wise, we each had a different one, the one thing we did find was that the food was a little cold. The duck was cooked really well (tho also a little cold unfortunately) and maybe a little too salty but was still really enjoyable. I will definitely try this place out again, they also do jazz evenings which I can imagine are fun!

Nestled in a charming village on the outskirts of Northampton, Olde Red Lion is a delightful traditional community pub that captures the essence of British dining. With its inviting stone façade and classic decor, this cozy establishment features two bars and an enchanting beer garden perfect for enjoying sunny afternoons. The menu boasts an array of British staples, including mouthwatering roasts and exceptional fish and chips that have garnered rave reviews from diners with dietary restrictions.
Amazing food especially for those with allergies. I’m coeliac and lactose intolerant and I had a delicious meal here. The menu is marked with what’s gluten free and their fryer only has gluten free in it so it’s safe! Best fish and chips I’ve had and those onion rings!? Insanely good 😍 couldn’t believe it was all gluten free! Great service too, very welcoming.
Mary M — Google review
The food was great, bar snacks are amazing and good price. However the service was not great, we had to clear our own table and put the glasses and plates on the bar as no one came to collect them. We didn’t get offered any deserts and no one came to check on how the food was. The staff are lovely but the younger members of staff don’t have enough experience and awareness of their surroundings. We felt like we were ignored as we were sat in the bottom bar, there was little to no service all night. We saw the kitchen staff smoking outside which isn’t a problem but they were stood right next to the kitchen door basically blowing the smoke inside the kitchen. One member of our party arrived later than us and he didn’t get offered any food or drink even though the staff saw he had turned up and sat with us. When we booked the table we told the pub this was for a birthday celebration. The pub messaged us 1 hour before our booking to tell us the table was set and ready however this was not the case when we turned up, the table was completely empty. We booked our table for 11 people but only had 9 chairs when we turned up and had to wait 20 minutes for the extra chairs. I feel like the staff could do with extra training when dealing with customers and their surroundings and there should be more staff on busy weekends. This is not the first time we have been to this pub and experienced this sort of service, it’s a shame as the food and pub itself is lovely.
Georgia C — Google review
Popped in for a drink a couple of weeks ago and decided then the menu looked interesting. Went back today for Sunday lunch. I had the lamb, my fiancee the chicken. I asked for the lamb to be cooked more than the menu described it and it came out spot on. Good sized portions, well presented and cooked perfectly, 100% will be back

What a lovely, hospitable place to have dinner. Staff were attentive and the food was amazing! I had the fish and chips, and I have to say it’s the best restaurant fish and chips I’ve ever had. Followed by chocolate torte. Large range of gins on offers to..food so much better than Cromwell Cottage. Think this will be my new local from now on.

Coming from Worthing to York came off the M1 at J16 and found this fantastic pub in a picturesque village. Serving amongst other delights was the perfect English roast. I have to have a gluten free diet which in many cases has always left me flat when eating out for a roast dinner.... this time definitely not! The Yorkshire pudding was amazing!! Everything was fresh, cooked to order and the service was on point!. Can't recommend enough especially if you have dietary requirements

We went tonight for dinner for my husbands birthday. Our first time at Chi. We enjoy trying different places. The atmosphere was lovely as soon as you entered. We were greeted by Namrata who was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Very attentive and checked on us throughout our meal. Another lovely staff member complimented our children and said how well behaved they were which was lovely to hear. The food was incredible, very tasty, good portions. My husband was surpised by a desert with a candle and fruit which was a lovely touch. Great prices. We eat out quite often and the overall service and experience from here was probably the best in a long time. Thank you. 😊

We had a fantastic experience at Chi Restaurant! The pork belly was incredibly flavorful and tender—easily one of the best I’ve had. The ramen was rich and comforting, and the sushi was fresh and beautifully presented. On top of the delicious food, the service was absolutely brilliant. Very nice place. I wanted to try something new, and it was very tasty 😋 I ordered Salmon sushi (forgot to take a picture), and chicken dumplings ramen. I would not have given 1 star, as I came here for lunch with my 3 year old, and the food was just aweful!! Ordered vegetable chowmein full of eggplant and some pepper and edamame used only for decoration. The quid was full of salt, and gyoza came soaked in soya sauce. Not to mention ordered pina cola, didn’t taste like one. Have posted a picture, of the food and drink, I won’t be coming to this place again.

Sharon C — Google review
Decided to try Chi after walking past many times, to be honest was not the best experience. The food in itself was ok not too bad, but the service was the main reason for the low stars. Had to wait for a very long time for them to take our order and when they did we waited a very long time for anything to actually eat. Also felt pretty cold when interacting with the staff and also felt like an inconvenience to even be there.
Jackss — Google review
Went here with a friend. Food was great, very nice. Only negative id say was price. Asking for prawn crackers whilst seated and charging £4.20 for them when they're usually free is the perfect example. Our bill was £111. Which we did have a lot for 2 people but only 1 beer and bottled water between us. Overall very nice but cant do it too often due to price.

Lovely place to shop and eat. Prices in the shop are on the higher side and I'm sure products could be found cheaper online, but they are beautifully presented and high street shopping deserves support. I've been here twice now, I come across from Belfast to visit my Mum in Northampton. We came last year for my Mums 80th, and then again today, for my Mums 81st (every birthday is a blessing!). The food is really good tasty stuff, and there's a great selection. And it's flexible in how it's served. It's unpretentious and relaxed, and its real positive point is its staff. Lead from the front by Geraldine, all the staff, young and old, are kind, practical, friendly, and have more than an ounce of wit about them. Which sadly I think we know isn't always the case in the chain cafes.. Mum can only have puréed food and they were very obliging with the soup provided, although unexpectedly the chilli in the soup didn't suit mum (who has an oesophageal issue) - she loved the taste but it was too spicy. The staff saw the problem, and kindly offered a couple of alternatives and could not have been more helpful. Leaving Mum, and therefore her son (me) and daughter equally happy. I would unhesitatingly recommend this place if you either live locally (then you'll know it) or are just visiting. One point I would make is to pre-book, this place gets jam packed, especially at weekends and holidays!

A great and interesting place. Excellent food, lovely staff and service, museum (!!!) and all sorts of stuff to buy. Oh, yes, and an utterly amazing Anglo- Saxon turriform church across the road.
John N — Google review
Lovely food, nice surroundings and friendly staff but the big problem is the wait time when busy. An hour for a toastie is too long and our 3 year old granddaughter kept asking where her jam sandwich was. However the menu has improved more each year and now there is alot to choose from and more tables to sit at, especially the tables near the toys if you have young children. The chicken, bacon and leek pie I would recommend along with an ice cream milkshake!. Also some lovely looking cakes and puddings to sample. It's just a shame that the waiting can be awkward especially if you have young children. You don't like to complain but it probably would be an idea to inform people how long the wait is so they know what to expect.
Mark A — Google review
Lovely afternoon tea in a relaxed setting. Food was fresh and tasty and a lovely selection of different things, and tailored to be gluten-free and lactose free. Beautiful crockery adds to the meal. We have walked past her so many times so we decided to pop in for a drink. We visited on a Saturday evening and it was about half full. The staff were very friendly but looked a little bored as they were on their phones. Nice small selection of drinks and a lovely looking cold ham and cheese counter, which I would like to visit again and sample. It's quite a small, intimate venue with additional street seating. Very faint background music was playing which added to the calm environment. A pint and a medium wine for £10.60 is about standard these days. Overall, quite a nice place and we will be back.

A group of friends went for a birthday celebration and it was amazing! The food my friends ate looked and smelled amazing! The moaning and contented smiles was enough to let me know the food was GOOD! With food allergies I decided not to risk it, but I did splash out and have a cocktail or two. They were happy to slightly alter the cocktail so I didn't have chilli in it (as I have an intolerance to it). But it was so tasty! And I rarely can have cocktails so this was amazing! The cocktail I had was the Passionfruit margarita (minus the chilli) & I barely have any photos because I drank them so fast! Tart but tasty!

The food here is really quite embarrassing for a hotel of this quality and the world famous guests. The bacon at breakfast is a wonder to behold - it had the consistency of air dried beef. The only edible thing I have found at night are the pizzas - I did try the burger but it was as bad as other reviewers have said. The fish and chips can be ok but the last time I ordered it the chips didn’t taste cooked - suspect they are frozen and fat not hot enough (but what do I know!!!)

Bar - we were there 3 days and on day one there was no mint for mojitos and 2 other beers were unavailable. This didn't get sorted during our visit. Staff friendly but all young and don't seem to have been trained at all. Couldn't pour a beer without wasting half of it in froth. Drinks expensive. Breakfast - £20 per head - watered down scrambled eggs (tasted like milk), watered down orange juice, items missing from buffet which took a long time to replenish. 2 coffee machines, 1 out of order and the other broke while we were waiting. Not great. Dinner - in fairness, the 2 meals we had were served quickly and were tasty despite the restaurant being busy.

Amazing evening, my food (steak was very nice) but partner tried sea bass, not a great fan. Overall the food was nice , just the price was high for certain items which is understandable but did not see any pricing before hand when booking. Service - not the teams fault they were rushed off there feet we waited a decent amount of time before we got are food, just needed couple more people. The poor man was sweating buckets. Atmosphere- Great, Team were lovely, restaurant was really nice Would differently come again, hopefully when it’s less busy

The food arrived very quickly and was okay. I had the pasta and meatballs but the pasta was a little cold but the meatballs were warm so didn’t want to send it back and complain. Our food arrived before our drinks so we chased up our drinks and they didn’t come until we were most of the way through our food- no apology for this at the time. We then waited about 30 mins for our plates to be taken away and given the dessert menus. It then took 20 mins to come over and ask if we wanted any, we didn’t so we asked for the bill. Again this then took another 20 mins for someone to take our payment. The server Bella who took our payment was lovely and apologised for the wait and for any inconvenience- thank you Bella! Overall, the food was okay but the service was quite bad.

I had high expectations for this restaurant, given its location in a world-renowned hotel. Unfortunately, it fell short in every way. The food was uninspired and tasted like something straight out of the frozen aisle of a supermarket—yet it was priced as if prepared by a top-tier chef. I’m more than willing to pay a premium for quality dining, but this was anything but. It’s a real shame, as the hotel itself maintains an exceptional reputation, and this restaurant does a disservice to its name. The experience was disappointing from start to finish, and I can’t see myself returning. If you’re looking for a meal that justifies its price tag, I’d recommend dining elsewhere.

I am honestly totally confused how and why this restaurant still operates in a world class venue. It is obviously evident that the owner/s don’t give any regard whatsoever how their business is run. I extremely doubt there is any one in the kitchen that has the slightest idea how to cook and prepare edible food!! I’m not even going to comment on the food that was bought out to me. It was even an embarrassment for the polite waitress who was totally apologetic for what she saw. Advice for the owner: Your restaurant lacks professionalism. The teenager staff in your kitchen need professional training which they rely on you to provide them. At the very least employ a chef who has the scope to prepare food other than the ability to “deep fry”! Has the ability to prepare a plate of edible food for your clients that does not embarrass the wage you’re paying them, your organisation and the word restaurant. I am extremely eager to hear your response!

I wouldn’t rush back here. The food itself was okay—nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. Unfortunately, the service really let the whole experience down. Staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, the interaction felt rushed and unfriendly and it was not busy. A restaurant can get away with average food if the service makes up for it, but here it was the opposite.

70 ONE Restaurant & Lounge is a chic and modern dining spot located in the vibrant heart of Birmingham. This restaurant offers an exquisite blend of global flavors, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Recently, I had the chance to experience its charm firsthand during my visit to Northamptonshire. Set along the tranquil riverside, 70 ONE provides a picturesque backdrop that enhances your dining experience.
Chicken lollipop and beef tacos is a must for your starters. Highly recommend getting the mixed grill platter it was amazing. Our mains were karahi gosht and butter chicken accompanied with a garlic and butter naan. We had the mango and lychee mocktails which were lovely. Ended our meal with a salted caramel cheesecake which was delicious. Afnan and Nahem were our waiters, they were very friendly and attentive. To be honest all the staff we had interacted with were great, so a huge thanks to the whole team at 70 One. We even managed to pray in the waiting area which was a huge plus point. Had a lovely view of the canal while we ate. An excellent restaurant which I recommend visiting especially for special occassions like anniversary etc.

It’s one for the books for sure! This is a great place if you like authentic Bangladeshi cuisine with excellent vibe and scenery around the restaurant. Bags of flavour and nothing to disappoint at all, the decor a top notch. The staff were amazing specially with my two kids really friendly and attentive. There is plenty of parking and is free of charge just give them your reg once you enter. Overall this was a really good experience and one I’d love to go again shame it’s soo far away. Thank you to all the staff at 70ONE.

Delicious Food & Generous Portions at 70One! Had an amazing dining experience at 70One! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried had clearly been prepared with care and attention to detail. Yes, the prices are a little on the higher side, but the portion sizes are huge — easily enough to share or take some home. So in the end, it really balances out and feels like good value for the quality and quantity you get. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s a great spot whether you’re out for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself to something special. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Highly recommended!

70One is the place to be for excellent service, food and shisha. Our amazing servers Ray and Mohammed went above and beyond to ensure every part of our visit was outstanding. I picked 70ONE to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it did not disappoint. Ray was great during the meal and full of knowledge as he recommended different dishes and drinks based on our preferences. Our food arrived piping hot and fresh. Thank you! Moving on to Shisha, it was outstanding! The flavour is authentic and Mohammed took immense care of us as he regularly checked in and topped up the coal. Mohammed was lovely and kind and made us felt listened to as we discussed how amazing our dinner went. Thank you!

Easily one of the best fine dining experiences I’ve had from service to the food nothing was missed. Everything packed flavour and they do it all they have a section for family dining they also have a section if you want to do shisha with the boys and also another section if you want it to be a date night by the river. Also free parking as well this is one spot that stood out and ticked all the boxes. Also this is all HALAL AND NO ALCOHOL IS ON THE PREMISES.

Halal , Really clean and cool place , nice staff , starters are 100% recomended , especially chicken lollypops and mini burgers , velvet mango fusion and and virgin mijito were amazing , kids really liked Oreo and Ferrero shakes , my expectations were really high from the Starters to Mains and i would love to give 5 starts but TBH only giving 4 beacause of two things as Mains were not upto the expectations as Starters and 2nd thing is too pricy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Gorgeous Evening at 70 One What a lovely hidden gem! 70 One is a beautiful ambient space, especially once the evenings draw in. With the soft lighting and cosy atmosphere make it perfect for a relaxed dinner or a catch-up with friends. The food was absolutely delicious and arrived quickly, which was a lovely surprise. Every bite felt fresh and full of flavour. The Shisha was a lovely addition and it really gave the evening a holiday vibe. Sitting back with the gentle aroma swirling around felt like a mini escape abroad! The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming and the Pink Gin cocktail was yummy—light, refreshing and perfectly balanced. The only small downfall for me was the presence of sports screens in the area, which slightly disrupted the relaxed atmosphere. But if you’re into sports, that could be a bonus! Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely come back for the food, ambience, and those holiday feels. 🍸✨💨

Diners rave about the exceptional quality of traditional pub fare that showcases attention to detail in every dish. The menu offers a delightful variety that caters to all tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Lovely pub and has to be one of the best Sunday roasts that you can find. Actually pink roast, incredible sauces too. Great staff/service and a nice ambiance. Cauliflower cheese was amazing, and vegetables were delightful. Went back a week later - duck very nicely prepared and a beautiful dish. Well worth checking out

Me and my partner finished our dance lesson up the road and popped in on the off chance they were serving food past 8pm. The gentlemen I spoke to was friendly and inviting, our dog also was allowed in. The food looked lovely and tasted great! the gin cocktail I had was great. The local atmosphere was great. Definitely a lucky find!

Located deep within the village of Shutlanger you will find an absolute banger! Jess making sure everyone is feeling fine, “may I pour you some more Wine” and Tommy being a fantastic host! With Jim and his team of chefs cooking up your roast, no doubt you will agree this pub is better than most. From top to bottom the Plough has it all from puddings to roast dinners, giant burgers, let’s not forgot Jims famous Ale pie. If this pub was built in the North east the punters would simply say “Whey Aye” 😉

A lovely find for a Sunday roast - brilliant food, however service was very slow. We came here to meet a friend as this was middle ground and the food looked fantastic in the pictures. The food definitely didn’t disappoint - the roast was just the ticket, and I’d like to try some dish’s from their main menu’s soon. I went for the mixed roast, which consisted of Beef, Lamb and Pork. It was great to see on the menu for those who have menu FOMO! All were brilliant. The crackling could be heard across the room and the cauliflower cheese was perfect. The staff were all very friendly and took our order quickly, however from then on it was very slow and we had to ask a few times where our drinks were (a little frustrating as we could see the bar and it wasn’t busy!) The dining room has plenty of seating and looks great, but there is almost no soft furnishing and so it gets loud when there are groups. Not much that could be done to be fair to them, but it’s an observation if you were looking for a quiet meal. There is plenty of parking and good disabled access. The toilets were clean, but not the nicest and could do with being updated when possible to bring them up to the standard of the rest of the place.

We have been meaning to check this place out for a couple of years now and finally got round to it on my birthday this year. We were not disappointed. The service was fantastic. The staff are very attentive. This is a small intimate setting. Very beautifully laid out. Attention to detail is spot on. The food was delicious. My husband and I had no complaints at all. Our son thought his burger was a little dry and could do with being asked how he would have liked it cooked. The taste was nice just needed a little less cooking time . All the rest of his dinner was perfect. Would recommend The Plough at Shutlanger to anyone looking for a lovely meal.

Absolutely amazing Sunday roast! Everything was cooked to perfection tender meat, crispy roast potatoes, rich gravy and so much of it and as a gravy lover I did not need to ask for more, all the classic trimmings done just right. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, thanks especially to Jess, who greeted us with genuine kindness and made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly attentive throughout, always checking in without being intrusive. It is clear they care about the experience they offer.

Booked here with my wife and a couple of friends after seeing the menu, which looked fantastic and very cheap for the food on offer! Thought there might be a catch, but absolutely not, the place is delightfully quaint, the staff super friendly and attentive and the food was outstanding! I had the pork bao buns my wife the rainbow trout and they were both absolutely stunning and I was blown away with the quality of the food and the price paid! Our friends very much enjoyed their food too and the portion sizes were excellent. Then if you want a cocktail, the range is fantastic and very different! Stumbled across this place by pure chance. Had the lamb pitta and the flavour was absolutely superb. Sat upstairs in the games area with my wife and had a couple of games of table tennis while waiting for our food - awesome! Waitress was lovely and the music was bang on. Will definitely book to go back with our friends. Place had a great buzz
Tom D — Google review
First time trying this place. Looks amazing on Instagram and the reviews. However had a lamb gyros that was dry and unseasoned- no flavour. My mum had the chicken Katsu burger and only a tiny bit of katsu sauce again no flavour. My dad had the steakhouse burger - no flavour and the lobster was chewy. The chips were also bland and the food went cold very quickly. From the photos it seems amazing but sadly was let down. I’m hoping that with a bit of criticism the place can only get better? As we need something like this in Northampton. The positive note is that the waitress we had serving us who said it was only her first day was very friendly, made us laugh and very attentive.

Great food - great service - great value. The other week, we held my sister's 70th birthday party at The Cheyne Walk Club and Pinch My Bun provided the food - buffet style. it was a roaring success! And of course the food had plenty to do with that success, as did the service. Dale and his colleagues laid on a wonderful range of food, with plenty for vegetarians and vegans. The service was exactly what we needed - courteous and helpful, especially appreciated as we had several elderly guests. Thank you to everyone at Pinch My Bun!

The Folly is a charming traditional thatched building dating back to the mid-1700s, located in the rural outskirts of Towcester. It offers a British menu and features a beautiful garden. The original cottage-style look has been preserved, giving it an authentic countryside feel. Despite changes in ownership, the high standards set by the original owner have been maintained, with only slight additions to the menu expected in the future.

Love little thatched roofed inn serving delicious, freshly cooked food. Had the black pudding and potato skins to start- tasty and a bit different. Pork for main. Crackling was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it. Lemon tart for dessert which is on their set menu. Tangy and a decent amount of pastry. Service was good, staff were friendly and helpful. Would come back when in the area.

Ordered a ‘medium rare’ steak, was presented with a well done steak. Brought this to the waitress’ attention, she simply walked away and left my plate there. She returned a few minutes later and took my plate. Then she came back again with the same plate of food and said ‘this was our last steak, we can offer you 15% off’. I attempted to each my very dry and chewy steak which was so over salted, the skin on my tongue has worn away. Ploughman’s board was very mediocre with what looked like supermarket quiche / pie on there. Onion soup was also very mediocre. Vegetables were yellowed and rotten, should not have been given to paying customers. Do not buy the story about the last steak; why did my plate need to be taken to the chef in order for that to be determined if the waitress spoke to him already before she took my plate.

Lunch on Sunday 5th Positives. lovely atmosphere Negatives. Ordered a Lime and sodas no ice , came with ice Sunday roast was average . The meat difficult was difficult to cut with a very blunt knife spoiling the meal. No staff member came to ask if everything was okay. Having coffee to finish our table was constantly passed by a waitress who blatantly stared at us. Very off putting( Blond ponytail ) only when it came to paying the bill was we asked if we enjoyed the meal. Voicing our concerns met with a blank smile. Sharpen up your stall and sharpen your knives!

From the moment you step through the door, The Greyhound wraps you in that warm, welcoming atmosphere that only a truly great pub can offer, the manger Georgie is fantastic she goes out her way to make you feel welcome and any issues she always quickly resolves to put you at ease. The staff are exceptional — friendly without being overbearing, attentive without hovering. Within minutes, you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. The food is outstanding. We tried the Sunday roast, and it was easily one of the best we’ve had — perfectly cooked beef, crisp Yorkshire puddings, rich gravy, and vegetables with real flavour. Drinks-wise, the selection is top-notch: well-kept cask ales ,popular beer on draft a curated wine list, and some surprisingly inventive cocktails for those looking for something different. What really sets this pub apart is the atmosphere. Whether you’re here for a quiet pint after work, a lively Friday night with friends, or a leisurely weekend lunch, it just works. There’s a real sense of community — laughter fills the air, dogs snooze under tables, and everyone seems genuinely happy to be there. In short: The Greyhound is everything a pub should be — warm, welcoming, delicious, and memorable. We can’t wait to return.

Disappointed by the Sunday Roast dinner. Very few vegetables (a tablespoon of carrot/swede mash that wasn't mashed) , varied portion sizes (3-8 small roast potatoes) and the promise of pork crackling. Whilst the taste was ok the Turkey was processed meat which they did refund. We felt the food was overpriced for the quality.

I recently visited The Green Man, a pub known for its traditional British cuisine and family-friendly atmosphere. After a day out, I stopped by this afternoon to find a place for an afternoon meal. Initially, I sat outside with my dog but was kindly informed that we could eat inside in the bar area together. This wasn't a problem at all. The food arrived promptly and was truly outstanding. Not only was it delicious, but also reasonably priced, and the service was exceptional.
We called here on our way home from Southampton on a Sunday lunchtime, we hadn’t booked but a table for two was available. It maybe busier at other times as it caters for the Premier Inn that’s attached so do check if your thinking of going over a weekend. A small pub with a big heart, & lots of rustic charm. Friendly, warm & welcoming by all. Clean & tidy some signs of wear but that’s to be expected from a busy place. The service was very good & quick, the food was first class, simple ingredients cooked well without a lot of “faff” what you get at some places. Plenty of parking. I would recommend you give this place a try if you’re passing, we will definitely be calling again when we’re around this area.

Have been here a few times over the years when staying at the adjacent Premier Inn, which is ideal for Silverstone. We've just had two nights in the restaurant and enjoyed both. Not cheap but reasonable prices and good quality food. Drinks fairly expensive, 6.85 for a pint of Madri but appreciate this might be average for the area. The majority of the time the food was very good. However this time the service and food were quite frankly shocking. I have ordered the same item a number of times , the Butternut squash grill steak. This arrived with no butternut squash and the veg in the plate had not seen a grill. We complained only to be told it was cut backs , on further complaints to another member of staff , butternut squash was bought out in a bowl (steamed or boiled) the first lady then come out and said she hadn't email cut backs and that was how it was. Despite multiple people having heard her. Rude and obnoxious seemed to be her mantra. Eventually they gave us the meal free, but we will not be back and urge others not to go until this appealing woman is removed from this establishment.

We popped in lunch time Saturday and we're greated by friendly staff what got us seated right away. Had a look through the menu and then ordered off the specials board. We had the venison burger and the chicken burger. These came out and looked amazing and tasted just as good. I really should remember to take pictures before eating 🤣 Definitely be back.

We ordered our starter waited 40 minutes and still no show. Then the lady on the table next to us complained half way through her starter because she had not got the starter she ordered. No she had mine. Then my wife's starter arrived . She had finished her 10 minutes before my replacement even arrived. The lady serving us apologized and deducted my starter from the bill. Then my main course arrived supposed to be Steak pie with a puff pastry top please see the photos. There was ONE piece of steak and the top was not puff pastry but burnt and dry. Portion sizes very small for the price. Please see photo of the Description of my meal and compare it to the photo.

I've been going to the Spencer Arms now for over 10 years and I have to say it's always a great experience. It's a lovely cosy welcoming pub which has a nice garden for the summer or a well laid out traditional dining area inside. The service is always great with friendly staff and the food, especially the 7 hour roast rib on a Sunday is beautiful. All in all it's a great pub and I would like to say a special thanks to Kath who really made us feel welcome on our last visit for my sons birthday.

We have always had a great time at The Spencer Arms and tonight was no exception! Roast was beautifully cooked, arrived with a full plate of vegetables and potatoes, generous portion of meat and with a wonderfully rich gravy and huge Yorkshire! Our daughter’s meal from the children’s menu was also generous and delicious! The puddings were to die for and the service was attentive and warm without being over-bearing. The background music also goes towards creating a friendly, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Great value for money too!

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in a convenient location, Oakley Hay Beefeater is a delightful pub-style chain that specializes in serving up an array of grilled meats alongside international favorites like fajitas. This steakhouse has garnered attention for its solid food offerings and excellent service, creating a welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of the 70s. Guests have noted the recent improvements in decor and quality, making it an enjoyable dining experience.
Had a great all you can eat breakfast at Oakley Hay. Everything was cooked fresh and the quality was of the highest standards. My wife had vegetarian sausage and bacon which we ordered as we were seated she really enjoyed it . Big shout out to the chef as everything was cooked to perfection. Also a big thankyou to the gentleman that served us so sorry I never got your name but can be seen working away in the 1st picture. This morning it was really busy but as they say quality speaks louder than words. Without hesitation we will definitely be back when we are in the area. Very well executed breakfast with exceptional service and at a reasonable price would sum it all up. Thankyou to all the staff at Oakley Hay Mike Collins Cheshire

Typical chain restaurant / pub... normal decor to the rest of the chain, nothing particularly special. Food and drinks are quite expensive, wouldn't eat here unless I had a money saving voucher, which seem quite frequent this time of year. I had a "fillet" steak, it wasn't the worst I have ever eaten, but definitely nowhere near the best either, it wasn't far off a rump. The "skin-on" chips were disappointing, more like oven chips you can do at home. The beef off the bone was better, and the potato wedges were "unusual". As all places, drinks were expensive and not a great choice of beer really. We were there early and the staff were friendly, it soon got busy (due to the bogof promotion I presume), so I did feel sorry for them as they were probably short-staffed.

We have been coming to Oakley Hay Beefeater for years now, mainly for breakfast. We have come as a couple, with the kids and with family and friends and every time it's always been fantastic service and lovely food. We usually deal with James who is always nothing but helpful, friendly and as we've been coming for that long we always have friendly banter with him, he's become apart of the whole reason we visit as often as we do, fantastic guy! The restaurant is clean and tidy, the whole team are amazing and we've never had a bad meal! It's out favourite place to go for breakfast. 😊

This is our second visit to this restaurant. We booked again as we had such a pleasant experience on our first visit, our waitress was very congenial and the food was of good quality. I was relieved that I had booked as it was exceptionally busy and a few people were turned away. I recommend that you prebook to guarantee a table. Our second visit didn’t disappoint either, we arrived early for our booking so that we could have a drink in the garden. We were shown to our table and our server, Rachael was excellent from the offset. She was very welcoming and advised what wasn’t available and reconfirmed our order, ensuring that all our dietary requirements were met. She was consistent in her service to us throughout our meal, ensuring that we had sufficient drinks and time to choose. We didn’t feel rushed and the atmosphere was refreshingly relaxed. When we came to pay she asked if we had any vouchers, which by chance my sister had which saved us 25% off of our bill. Thank you Rachael for your wonderful service! This is a fabulous restaurant and all of the staff here are lovely and very hard working. Beefeater you are lucky to have such wonderful staff!

Had a rump steak, medium rare. Not impressed all gristle and sinew. It's not hard to dress a beef cut. I'm very disappointed and a waste of £17... You must do better than we don't trim the meat. We just cook it. I thought it was all about attention to detail served from the grill. Very low down on my list of Beefeaters, and I go to many throughout the country on my travels.

Stopped for a quick bite on our journey. Did good and the service from Rachel was great. Such a warm, friendly lady. Nothing was too much trouble! Thank you, Rachel!

James gave outstanding service this morning, as no vegan sausages or bacon was out he got them ordered and brought them over to the table. You can see James takes customer service seriously and setting an example for the team to follow. Was very busy this morning and James was multi tasking and taking on many roles to ensure the service was provided.

We had a family lunch here today. We found all the food to be really well cooked and presented and the staff were really friendly. This is not cheap eats but we felt the quality justified the cost. We will return when we’re next in the area.

Pub
Restaurant
Nestled in the charming village of Wooton, Northampton, The Queen Eleanor is a delightful 17th-century pub that offers a cozy atmosphere and classic comfort food. This inviting establishment sits right across from one of the most remarkable surviving Eleanor Crosses, which commemorates Queen Eleanor's journey in 1290. With its traditional bar and lounge area, it’s perfect for families looking to enjoy a meal together.
Another Sunday lunch at the Elly, same great experience. Unbeatable for value (£11 ea, including a pint). Friendly, smiling staff, prompt service, hot food (plenty of it), great roasted spuds and lovely thick gravy. These guys have it nailed. Thanks!

I am staying at a local hotel and this venue is handy due to location. The staff are friendly and the food has been very good and arrives promptly even when busy. It is highly popular with senior customers and has a generally good feel although the furniture and decor are very tired indeed with most seating heavily stained.

We were staying at the local hotel so booked to come here for dinner . My daughter has several food allergies & the staff were really helpful with checking foods / packaging & allergens to ensure she could have a safe meal . The food came quickly , was hot , generous portions & it was good value for money. There was plenty of choice on the menus & there was plenty of choice of tables inside . It’s got a great park area for the children and outside tables . The staff were really friendly , attentive & helpful . Would definitely recommend and return

I went with friends for an early dinner and as usual with all hungry horse restaurants, the food was great. Only reason a star was dropped was because of the cleanliness, it wasn't busy and their was plenty of staff but our table outside took 2 attempts of me asking someone to come and clean it after the last customers. Food great, drinks cold
Gary F — Google review
The Queen Eleanor is a standard pub and grub establishment and a branch of Hungry Horse pubs and restaurants and a subsidiary of the Greene King pub group. I visited with my family and we were very happy with our experience. It wasn't too busy when we were there at about 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon during half-term. A table had just been cleaned and we were able to sit and choose our food before going to the bar and ordering it although it is possible to order and pay on their app meaning you don't need to leave your table at all which is great for busier times or if you are eating on your own. The food came within a reasonable period of time. It was exactly what we ordered and it was hot and tasty. We were able to make use of some good deals which meant that eating here, even including alcoholic drinks, was for us about the same or even less than going to McDonalds. The staff were friendly and helpful. The toilets were clean and presentable. There is a decent sized carpark. Also there is a children's play area but we didn't use this. All in all it was a good experience and I would happily return if I were in the area again. My only criticisms are minor. When we arrived there were a lot of used lunchtime crockery across tables but that was in the process of being cleared. Also the place looks like it could do with being given a bit of a revamp but in reality that is an unnecessary expense that would have to passed on to the customer.

Telford Lodge Brewers Fayre is a delightful family-friendly pub and restaurant located in Northamptonshire, perfect for those seeking a relaxed dining experience. With a menu that features classic dishes alongside international favorites, there's something to satisfy every palate. Signature offerings like the BBQ Platter and Big Stack Burger are sure to please, while dessert lovers can indulge in treats such as Caramel Apple Betty or Triple Chocolate Brownie.
Went here for dinner as I couldn’t be bothered to cook. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. We ordered a smothered chicken and mixed grill with pepper sauce. Both meals were thoroughly enjoyed. Cooked perfectly and definitely hit the spot. Kristie was a standout member of staff, service with a smile while professional at the same time. Will definitely be going again soon.

An evening meal that deserves a 5 star review. Wasn't sure what to expect but this Brewers Fayre delivers a good experience, nice friendly staff, and a good atmosphere. Food: Easy ordering at the bar, no delays in food being bought to the table. We ordered the Haddock and Chips and Smothered Platter. Hot food, nicely presented, if any criticism it would be that the steak was a little chewy and mushy peas a bit overcooked but everything else really nicely cooked. The deserts were really good and coffee and teas refillable, that was a pleasant surprise. Service: The staff are very friendly and efficient, our waitress pointed out what was not on the menu and details about the deserts. Table was cleared promptly between courses. The restaurant was busy but the service remained efficient. The restaurant and bar reminded me of an old fashioned pub, good food, good drink and a good atmosphere.

Telford Lodge Brewers Fayre is a spacious pub/restaurant with a soft play area that’s handy for families with toddlers. It’s located right next to Premier Inn and just a short drive from Wicksteed Park, with the added bonus of free parking for up to 3 hours (make sure to register your number plate using the tablet provided inside). There’s plenty of seating and the space can easily accommodate large groups, which makes it good for family meetups or casual get-togethers. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. While the prices are reasonable, the portion sizes are quite small and the quality is mediocre at best. Food was served quickly and the kids’ meal was the best, good selection so kids enjoyed it. The interior of the pub feels quite dated and could really benefit from a thorough clean and a modern update. Tables and chairs are old and need changing. The overall vibe was more tired than cosy. The soft play area is a nice touch for little ones, but overall, the place feels like it’s in need of some serious attention. It’s okay for a quick stop if you're staying nearby, but definitely not somewhere I’d go out of my way to visit again.

I had both dinner and breakfast during my stay. - Breakfast was good — hot, fresh, and enjoyable. I particularly liked the fried eggs and coffee. It was a standard but satisfying breakfast. - Dinner was less impressive. I ordered a burger and chips for £14, which is a reasonable price, but the chips had a fishy smell, and even the fork seemed to carry the same odour, which made the experience unpleasant. Also, there was no table service — you have to order at the bar, which I’m not really a fan of. On the positive side, the burger itself was tasty. Overall, breakfast was enjoyable, but dinner could definitely be improved.

Very friendly staff. Popped in for lunch with my grandad before his hospital appointment and the lady server Elise was very friendly and was very attentive bless her. The man at the carvery called Adam (I think) was very pleasant. Helped my grandad with his portion size. Lovely friendly staff and the food was decent.

Regularly come for the buffet breakfast. Friendly staff (Gail's great), food is good value and the coffee's decent. Some places have jugs of instant but they've proper machines here. Now, if only they improved the WiFi I might come twice a week instead :) Lastly, you can't beat the kids eating free. Amazing value for money, especially during the holidays. My son loves the soft play centre.

Went for breakfast but the food was cold literally not even warm, I asked a staff member if the hot try was working as food was cold and was told it's because it's a cold day and when the door is opened it blows through. I decided to have the continental breakfast very reluctantly, I was asked if I wanted it put in microwave but declined. A short while later a staff member came up to me and said what she had told me was right but also the light on hot plate was of so yes it was cold, to be honest I thought it was good for her to tell me. Was only charged for continental for me and my 3 guests but even though they changed the hot plate then food was hot but by then I had filled up on toast so was totally gutted.

The pub was nice, food was good. Most of the staff were lovely. A couple of them thought it was OK to swear (not at us but within general chatting...) We held a wake there the following day. The food was good and plenty of it for the package we ordered. They were very accommodating to our needs.
