De Ballentent is a charming and down-to-earth place right by the water in Rotterdam. One of the highlights is definitely the outdoor seating area — it's spacious, has a great view of the river, and is perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal on a sunny day. Food is simple but good, I recommend the meatballs. The prices are fair and the staff is friendly I recommend.

A Truly Outstanding Bar Experience Stepping into this bar immediately sets a fantastic tone. The venue is genuinely spacious and well-laid out, ensuring you never feel cramped, even during peak hours. Beyond the physical space, the atmosphere is superb—it’s lively and sophisticated without being overwhelmingly loud, creating the perfect backdrop for conversation and relaxation. We were particularly impressed by the food. While it operates as a bar, the quality of the cuisine rivals that of a proper restaurant. Every dish we tried was delicious, fresh, and well-executed. Combined with the excellent drink selection and friendly staff, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

So I went to have "the" meatball. I had it: it's a meatball. Is it good? No. It's literally dry meat with pepper and salt. No frills, no surprises. The fries were ok and the peanut sauce quite nice. HOWEVER, the service is kind, fast and efficient. The place is clean and charming with a lovely view over the river. You're surrounded by locals in good spirits. The atmosphere is positive and you can tell the place has history. I won't have the meatball ever again, but I would definitely go back for drinks or maybe to try something else from the menu.

I don’t want to be unfair to this place (perhaps they were short-staffed that day or dealing with other challenges) but the overall experience felt quite rushed. It had a “get in, get out” vibe that made it hard to relax. Having worked in hospitality in both the UK and Portugal, I fully understand the importance of table turnover, but it shouldn’t come at the expense of making guests feel hurried. That said, the view of the marina is lovely, the staff were courteous, and the decor is tasteful. I give it 4 stars but its not a place I would return to.

Really wanted to love this place, but sadly the experience was let down by the staff, who came across as miserable and quite rude. The meatball dish itself was tasty and great value, and the venue has a nice atmosphere. If only the service matched the food, it would easily be a five-star spot. At one point I genuinely thought the rudeness was a deliberate gimmick, I had to Google the place to check, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.. Such a shame.

Really lively buzzy place, we booked but had to wait for a table as it seems you can just rock up and sit at an empty table. Very busy when we arrived but calmed down quite quickly. We chose to sit outside as it was a nice evening but as non smokers that may have been an error when tables either side lit up when they had finished eating. Food was good but wasn’t hot, probably due to the poor service we received from our server. We mentioned when paying the bill and the manager/owner knocked 10% off as an apology which was decent of him. Menus available in several different languages which is good.

Quick service, friendly staff, and generous portions. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The meat didn’t taste fresh or tender, and it arrived at our table surprisingly fast. The inside of the kebab was completely red, which was not pleasant at all.

A colorful, vibrant, and global place. You can enjoy Middle Eastern flavors while sipping your beer. The portions are large and filling, and overall, the food is really tasty.

Been here several times during my student years and came back again after 10+ plus years and it is still the same! Tasty, a vibe and good service overall. The place is big with a lot of tables but they are always busy! Food is decent for what you pay and the service is always friendly and efficient. Came here for dinner but can equally recommend coming for the breakfast. Highly recommended. Will definitely add to my go to places when in Rotterdam.

The tea was nice, and the coffee was good. The sarma was okay…not bad, but missing a bit of flavor. I sat outdoors, and unfortunately, there was bird poop on the table, which wasn’t very pleasant. Overall, not that impressive in terms of food, but it does look like a nice place to sit and have a drink.

I ordered the Tavuk Sis Kebab – grilled chicken breast marinated in saffron and yogurt, served with rice, curry mayonnaise, haydari, Shiraz salad mix, and fries. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked and extremely dry, making it unpleasant to eat. Sitting outside was even worse: the smell of sewage was strong, and seagulls were constantly flying overhead and leaving droppings everywhere, which made the whole experience uncomfortable and unappetizing. The atmosphere felt unhygienic and far from enjoyable. I paid 25€ with soft drinks. The Coca-Cola was either not original, either with lots of water. Overall, it was a disappointing meal in an unpleasant setting. Definitely not a place I would recommend.

Great atmosphere, the place is enormous so there's almost always space to sit. We had breakfast and it was big in variety. I would not come back necessarily for breakfast because nothing was "outstanding" but I am sure we are gonna come back for the real food and re-assess. The only problem is that when is crowded.. is REALLY crowded. Bathrooms are very clean! Waitress was super kind.

A must! Incredible views. We went up just before sunset and then after sunset, we had a drink and A DELICIOUS AND GENEROUS portion of their fries with truffle mayo and parmesan, so worth it. After that we went back out to experience the views of the lights. It's like 3 experiences in 1. Highly recommend it to locals and tourists.

The waiter was pretty rude! One of the waitresses got us a table with a nice view but that was all of the good experience. We waited 20 minutes to order and when the waiter came he told us that table has a reservation and we had to move to another one so we left the restaurant.

We saw Euromast from the outside. I think the entrance fee is too much. We didn't go up the tower. But it gives a different atmosphere to the city. The park right next to it is very well organized. There is a nice walking area.

Was great to br able to see Rotterdam from such a height and there is a small video you watch to show the history of Rotterdam. Would have been better if they had signs to show what you are looking at once you are on the viewing platform. Instead there is a QR code you can scan and then you are supposed to be able to point your camera at things and it will tell you what it was, however it doesn't work well at all. You also have to buy a more expensive ticket to go to the highest point. They also do abseiling down the Euromast which wasn't widely advertised.

Great views of Rotterdam, and the extra pay to go up to the top is worth it, but the down side is the wait to get into the Euro scoop, you wait out side is the wind and rain. But the view is worth it. Wrap up warm if you visiting in the winter

Food was burger or veggie burger, we don’t eat. There is some amazing beers on tap. Think the idea was it was going to be a good hub. It’s not quite there yet. But there are lots of great food places within walking distance. Sit and enjoy a beer 🍺 or 2 and if a burger is for you then you’re in.

Great beer selection and a small selection of sandwiches and toasts. If only the gluten-free options were of similar size as its glutenous counterparts, leaving some folks kinda hungry :-/ Good music though and friendly staff!

This is an incredible food hall with great variety and service. I tried the Pho beef soup from the Vietnamese restaurant and my partner tried the burger place. Both dishes were so tasty and they were actually big portions. They also have a bar so you can have a drink with your food - they have their own local beer! They also support other local breweries in the area. The athmosphere is cozy and I recommend a date night there if you can't decide where to eat - they have all types of food there.

Relaxing National Trust garden with plenty of walks and plants to look at. We went to see the bluebells (the website said they were out) but when we arrived they'd mostly gone past their best. Check before you visit.

The new location still maintain its hipster flavor. It is amazing alternative spot for quick bites and good craft beers. Now the step up is that there many, many more seats outside looking at a calm river and with a sunny day, this is one of the places you want to be for a post industrial modern drink.

A really nice little food market, about 15 minutes by bike from the city centre. The views from the seating area are quite stunning. We had a cheeseboard, tried some of the beers, and had a really lovely time sat in the sun. The prices seemed about average for the Netherlands.

We had a great time at this restaurant. The food was really tasty—we tried a variety of tapas, and each dish was full of flavor and well-prepared. The drinks were also very good; I had a fresh lemonade that was especially refreshing. However, the bathroom was a different story. It wasn’t very clean and had a rather strange setup—I’ve honestly never seen a bathroom quite like it before. It felt a bit out of place compared to the quality of the food and drinks. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable.

So enjoyable, I came back the next night! The service was just as perfect. The food and drink divine. So impressed.

Great ambiance inside the restaurant. Especially liked the soft music and the flowers coming down from the ceiling. The food was exceptional. Loved the black aioli sauce that comes with the calamari. The staff is also very friendly and explain each dish that comes to the table. Definitely worth the slightly higher pricing.

The food was amazing! Calamari is my favorite and As well the cocktails The only minus points was the brownie, was too sweet taste only sugar no chocolate but the ice cream delicious . We will come back again

I’m a big fan of the poffertjes you usually get in the UK (at Xmas markets etc) but omg these were on another level! So light, fluffy and delicious. Customisable toppings and extremely well priced. The service was very quick and so lovely. I could resist coming here twice! Definitely somewhere worth checking out if you’re in the area.

The poffertjes here are soo good. Made fresh and you can choose a variety of toppings. I love how they having a smoking and non-smoking section outside. That’s hard to find. So nice to be able to sit outside, enjoy our poffertjes, coffees and people watch.

The service was very good and fast. The coffee was not that good, it seemed to be from a machine. The location was on a pedestrian street with many people passing.

Came here maybe 15 minutes after opening on a Sunday, not too busy. We ordered the Large Portion of Poffertjes which had 30 pieces. We got some toppings on the side: fresh strawberries, whipped cream and nutella. There was a nice heaping of butter and powdered sugar on the Poffertjes, best I have had in the Netherlands so far. For drinks we got a large coffee, Latte Coffee, and two Latte Macchiatos. We really enjoyed the food, the server was really nice and had great enegy. I would recommend this place to others!

Favorite restaurant in the Netherlands! It has such a cute atmosphere and the restaurant owner is such a gem. You will feel like you are at grandmas and you will taste the care put in the food.

Food was great! Authentic Dutch fare (according to restaurant staff, we went with the recommendation), considering we don’t get much of that in the Netherlands in general, mostly international cuisine. Would recommend if you are dropping by Rotterdam for a day or two. Price wise not the most affordable given that the food was quite simple, the prices didn’t make that much sense.

Brilliant traditional Dutch restaurant, unfortunately one of the very few not just in Rotterdam, but the Netherlands, that are still surviving. Incredible food, fantastic service, and so much value for money you’ll be ashamed to pay the amount on the bill! Go there before it disappears and all you’re left with are chain restaurants!

Great tiny family run place with traditional Dutch fare. We had schnitzel and the 'daily plate' of pork in mushroom sauce. The desserts were super: a warm banana in rum sauce, warmed apricots in rum, and strawberries with delicious ice cream.

It's difficult to find traditional Dutch food in Rotterdam, the food scene is generally quite international. But we are so glad we've found this gem, a real Dutch restaurant where the locals go. The food is freshly homemade and absolutely delicious. We ordered the beef stew and fried cod, both are really good. The owner is so lovely and friendly too, she even translated the menu in English for us😄 We would definitely come again when we are next in Rotterdam.

The entrance to the cafe was a little hard to find, but once you found it you were in a really idyllic cafe. The view of the skyline is beautiful. The cafe and rooftop terrace are urban chic and very inviting. I had an iced matcha latte with vanilla syrup and the “Triple Omega”. My extra requests were accepted in a friendly manner. In general, the service staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was really delicious. There could have been a few small improvements (for example, the egg yolk could have been more runny), but that's complaining on a high level. The prices are reasonable considering the location. The portions are a bit small, but it was perfect for me. I recommend everyone to have brunch there on a city trip to Rotterdam!

Nice food, place is very instagramable, nice decorations, outside terrace is small and warm when sunny. Garden is not accessible. All in all very cute, romantic, and good food. Lift is old and creepy. You have to climb the last stairs from the highest floor reached by the lift to get to the cafe. Small cafe but unique. Difficult to find though

The rooftop garden is beautiful. The food is okay. The fries with parmesan and truffle mayonnaise are very strong in flavour. We asked an extra toast and it was not really good. The service is very bad. When we arrived, it was very disorganised. They asked for my name twice. The reception was not good. We had to get up to order because the waitress did not come to our table. We also had to go to pay the bill. I recommend it for the view, but only if you have a lot of time to wait.

We recently dined at François Geurds, a 2-star Michelin restaurant, and left feeling underwhelmed. Unfortunately, the food, service, and atmosphere did not meet the high standards one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The Positives: The sommelier was excellent, recommending a delightful bottle of wine that paired well with our tasting menu. Among the dishes, the duck stood out as the only one deserving of 2 Michelin stars. The flavors were harmonious, with a perfect balance of crispiness and richness, though the sauce was slightly overpowering. The Negatives: • Biet Truffle: A decent dish with simple ingredients and a pleasant taste, though not particularly memorable. • Black Beauty: Overly oily, with unbalanced flavors that didn’t blend well. • Avocado/Banana/Beluga Caviar: A major disappointment. Cooking and blending caviar this way felt like an insult to such a premium ingredient. The cream tasted identical to the first dish, as if the sauce had been reused. • Tuna/Kombu: The sorbet was a surprising highlight, working well with the salty sauce. However, the tuna itself was not fresh, likely defrosted, which was quite disappointing. Atmosphere: The seating arrangement was awkward and uncomfortable. We were placed very close to the neighboring table, to the point where we could hear their entire conversation. This lack of privacy made the experience feel far from the refined and intimate setting one expects at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Service: The staff lacked the training and finesse expected at a 2-star Michelin establishment. Small details and attentiveness, which are critical at this level, were missing throughout the experience. We traveled to Rotterdam specifically to try this restaurant, and sadly, it fell short of expectations. While there were moments of brilliance, significant improvements are needed in the kitchen, service, and ambiance to truly live up to its Michelin status.

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The food was ok. The duck dish was barely edible and the only memorable good food was the beetroot sourdough bread. The service was absolutely horrible except for one kind waiter. It took over 4 hours to get all the food and we skipped a course in order to leave. We were not the only table trying to get out to leave early because the wait was excessive. It took over half an hour to get a drink. Terrible experience and makes me question how this place has any Michelin stars?

€1500 euros for 8 courses and wine with 3 people. Impressive ambiance and presentation, with a wide array of food carts, but the wines fell short and many dishes leaned too heavily on fruit, obscuring the delicate flavours they were meant to enhance. Moreover, the dinner lasted more than five hours, too long. The wine pairing was maybe the biggest disappointment: rushed explanations, poor matches, and nothing remarkable for the price. Sommelier was hard to follow at times, he noticed this and switched Flemish to English, which didn't help much. When we politely asked to change one of the reds, the response by a waiter was defensive — a more open attitude or effort to match our taste would have gone a long way. Attention to detail was lacking throughout: a dish toppled over on the plate and wasn’t replaced; my Opinel knife was poorly maintained, the Japanese knife dull, and the sourdough bread burned black on the bottom and unevenly cut. The tea tray looked nice but its lids were mismatched. Food was served while one of us was in the bathroom, and they never returned to explain the dish. Most staff were professional and courteous, though some were clearly still in training. For this price, you expect precision and a better pacing.

The worst Michelin dining experience we’ve ever had. We visited FG three years ago and had a completely different, positive impression back then. This time, however, it was an enormous disappointment. Having dined at Michelin restaurants all over the world, we expected a high level of quality and consistency, but instead encountered the opposite. The tasting menu of 8 courses stretched over 4.5 hours without coffee or mignardises to close the experience. The food itself was well below average for this level, with some dishes being extremely poor the leek plate, in particular, was simply unacceptable, while others were excessively salty. The service was polite but slow, uncoordinated, and clearly undertrained for this supposed level of fine dining. On top of that, the price was extremely high and completely unjustified for the quality delivered. A place that once left us with fond memories now feels like one of the worst disappointments in our fine dining experiences. I would not recommend it to anyone.

We asked for table allowing us to sit next to each other - they exceptionally changed the configuration for us and granted us our wish - that’s rare! Perfectly friendly staff, very relaxed atmosphere for a 2* Michelin restaurant - not the usual over politeness. Food obviously excellent.

Cutting your meat with your own chosen knife from the chef's collection. That's how it starts here :-). Really comfortable chairs giving a kind of privacy. Menu is served here. Where there is also a part for the waiting staff. Finishing plates, make your blend of pepper, getting bread out of the pan, there is some interaction. Food is really good, coffee was oke (expected this to be superb - seeing the effort they put into it). China was adding a lot - wel chosen and beautiful.

We came here expecting high quality service and food. We could choose our own knives, which was an interesting concept. We were greeted with amuses and a delicious sour dough bread. But nobody came to ask how many courses we wanted, or what the difference was between 6 courses and 8, and they already served us the first course. Then we told the waiter that we would like 6 courses since we dont eat that much. After the first course, we then had to wait an hour for the next course. We told the people that it was quite long. Eventually we were served the main dove course, but by then, I realised we were only served 4 courses. So I told the waiter that. They came and checked my photos because they seemed surprised that we missed a course. So they eventually gave us one of the courses that they had missed. This just felt like grave mistakes that even regular restaurants dont make. The food was on average okay, but not worth the price. Some parts like the meringue with the lobster was sickenly sweet. Other dishes were overtly sour and the flavours just didn't work well together. It was sometimes difficult to even finish the dish. The white chocolate in the dessert tasted like chocolate that had been left out in a cupboard for too long and had somehow adopted a very weird taste. Then the table next to us had someone who got a wine bottle dropped on them because it fell off a serving table. The glass shattered and wine poured all over the floor. Maybe it just wasn't their night, but it was overal a rather disappointing experience for more than 200 euros pp worth of food. I wouldn't come here again.

We visited for my husband’s birthday with a reservation for four, which included a welcome glass of champagne. The booking process was very smooth—quick replies and easy confirmation, which gave us a great first impression. Unfortunately, the experience at the restaurant itself didn’t quite live up to expectations. When we arrived, the staff member who welcomed us didn’t seem to check the reservation properly, so we were seated without being offered the welcome champagne. While waiting, two different staff members came to ask for drink orders, creating confusion. I eventually spoke with a more experienced team member who acknowledged the communication error and handled it professionally. Our assigned waiter after that point was excellent—friendly, attentive, and communicative. The gentleman who seemed to be supervising also handled the situation well and showed genuine care. The food, however, was a letdown. My tuna steak came too raw, despite requesting it medium, and my daughter didn’t finish her chicken. While the lentils and starters were enjoyable, the main courses didn’t stand out. On top of that, the temperature inside was uncomfortably warm, which added to our decision to skip dessert and leave earlier than planned. We had requested a candle in advance to celebrate the occasion, and while we didn’t stay for dessert, the team kindly brought it out anyway—a thoughtful gesture we appreciated. Overall, while the restaurant positions itself as a laid-back brasserie, I believe this iconic location deserves consistently high-quality service and well-prepared, simple dishes that leave guests saying, “We have to come back.”

Let’s start with the negative part: at check-in there were 2 young ladies with a bit of an attitude. Not super unfriendly but bitchy in the way of giving information and answering our questions. Something you should not expect in an hotel like this. The second was that when we received a phone call if we would like to upgrade with extra payment, the asked for the purpose of our stay, which was are honeymoon. It was noticed but they have nothing done with that. Not that they have too, but giving your costumers a little bit extra attention, would be appreciated. Rooms are nice, bed pillows are horrible for me. Everything is clean except for the texture like feeling on the front of the toilet. Porcelain should be smooth not rough. View is amazing if you book for the river Maas view. The historical feeling in this building is pleasant. Breakfast is expensive but good, don’t forget to ask for an omelette in the kitchen. It was the best one I ever ate. Parking is expensive with 35 euros per day. So all good but enough points for improvement.

This was a most disappointing experience after we had been looking forward to staying at Hotel New York for a number of years. The hotel feels as if it has got a crisis of identity and whilst it is a very interesting historic building, I do not feel that it has been well developed into a 4 star hotel. The prime focus of the hotel appears to be the bar/restaurant which is in the prime position at the front of the hotel and is clearly very busy. This makes it very noisy and not a good place for a relaxing birthday dinner. You approach the hotel from the rear and the entrance is tucked away in a corner. It is not well signposted, has weeds growing around rht paving and has a number of steps up to the reception making it very difficult for anyone with impaired mobility. I could not find any mention of this problem on the hotel web site and it was never mentioned when I asked about access before I booked. There was no porter service and only one luggage trolly which was of limited use because of the number of stairs. Many rooms are only accessible by stairs and there were 2 steps in our room. There is no parking at the hotel but there is an excellent private parking garage adjacent to it but this needs to be booked and cost us 54 Euro for 2 days. The room was not to 4 star standards and lacked a number of things like fridge, USB charging points and easily accessible power sockets. The bed side light switches were also a long stretch from the bed. The bathroom had been modernised and was very good, it is a shame that the room had also not been given a suitable makeover. Food in the restaurant at dinner was very good but the overall dining experience was spoilt by the noise levels and hussle and bussle, it was more like a city centre bar than a 4 star restaurant. The breakfast buffet was nothing special and the staff at breakfast clearly did not want to be there. We ended up cutting short our stay because the difficulty of accessing the hotel was causing my Wife distress as she has impaired mobility. The hotel has a fabulous location and a great history but I do not feel that it has been developed very well. The developers should take a look at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool to see what a great job can be done of developing such an old historic building. If we had not been to the Delft WestCord hotel and had an excellent stay, I would be avoiding this company in future.

Great hotel; slightly dated but that’s part of the charm. Amazing building. Good breakfast. Only reason it isn’t a 5 stars from me is because we tried to have a drink in the bar (not the exclusive, need to book downstairs one just the normal main bar) but there was a huge queue (despite several empty tables) and we were told that despite being hotel guests we had to wait alongside the non guests. Wouldn’t expect to have to do that. Otherwise great.

Hotel New York offers stylish design and spacious rooms, each decorated with carefully chosen, original pieces that give the place a unique charm. My room view was very lovely, looking to Erasmus bridge. I stayed in April when the weather was wet and cold, and while the atmosphere was wonderful, the room heating was unfortunately not sufficient, which made the stay less comfortable than expected. Keep in mind to bring warm clothes to wear in the room :)

If you are in Rotterdam and taking a Holland America cruise, you should 100% book at this hotel for a stay before your cruise. The hotel is really cool. Historic but new feeling. They have done a wonderful job turning this "office building" into a collection of great rooms with great views. We arrived the day before our cruise and checked-in easily. Walked down to the Foodhallen and had a relaxed meal and some drinks. The morning of our cruise, we enjoyed a great breakfast at the hotel and then simply walked 2 minutes down to the ship. CRAZY EASY!!! Love this hotel!!

Disappointing experience from the start. There was no smile, no sense of welcome at the entrance. While we were waiting, the staff member who asked about reservations didn’t even look at us, instead speaking past us to people behind. A simple acknowledgment of the first couple in line would have been the respectful approach. Another colleague later handled things more appropriately, but by then the poor first impression was set. The bar wasn’t crowded, yet we were left waiting unnecessarily, only to be told in the end to “just choose a place at the bar.” If that was the plan all along, there was no need to waste our time. The bartender was the one positive note—friendly and attentive—but overall the service at the entrance left a very negative impression. When staff give the impression they don’t want to be there, it makes guests feel unwelcome. Not worth the hype. Won’t be returning.

A place that serves delicious Italian foods, but without resorting to the defaults of pizza and pasta. Authentic food in good sized portions. The deserts are also definately worth trying! Also: Italians frequent this place. That's a good sign, and rightfully so.

Super tasty Italian food in Rotterdam! It is a cozy place with friendly staff. Plenty of vegetarian options. We had the classic panzarotto's and also the house special one. And the pistachio lava cake is to die for! Absolutely yum!!

I really enjoyed the pistachio lava cake. It was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. It wasn't too sweet. Just right. The service was good. We sat outside because inside it smelled like oil which was a bit overwhelming.

The panzerotto dough is perfect, so light you don’t even feel it’s fried. Ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. Pasticciotto is a 10/10, just like having it in Salento (my mum is from there, so I know!) and caffè Quarta brings back the authentic taste of home. I understand that in the Netherlands fresh ingredients, rents and staff salaries come at a high cost, and it can’t be easy, but the prices do feel on the expensive side. Still, it’s definitely a place worth visiting for a treat once in a while.

There is definitely a clear reason why the won best burger on different occasions, they do have great burgers! 🍔 must try during your time in Rotterdam for sure. Another aspect that is good to mention, is their bar and cocktails, as well as their local beer selection. Great number of options to pair well with your meal.

I’ve been there twice within a year, both times on a weekday around noon. The service was excellent—quick and friendly. The Two Chefs Brewing White Mamba tastes marvelous on tap, and the burgers are fresh, flavorful, and well put together. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

I went for the veggie classic and my friend for the bonanza. Also 2 cocktails and some drinks. The burgers were divine, the cocktails next level and the service was perfect. Can't recommend this place enough. Another visit another success. My friend ordered the steak and absolutely loved it. My classic veggie burger and sweet potato fries were on point as as well. The cocktails tasted great as well. Keep up the good work. Probably the best burger place in Rotterdam for both vegetarian and meat based burgers. The sauces are on point, the meat is good quality and the veggie patties are tasty. When served the buns are the perfect amount of crisp and soft. The burgers themselves are not too saucy which makes it a very nice experience for me. The veggies used are fresh and crisp. Overall I have enjoyed each experience of eating here and id highly recommend this place. For the quality and experience I feel the prices are fair. I've been here several times and the consistency of good quality and taste is phenomenal. The service offered is friendly and helpful but not the swiftest and the seating is fine but not the most comfortable. Keep up the good work and see you soon.

Went here as a couple. God knows how this place has won awards for burgers! Food was well below average: Standard quality, little attention to detail, basic flavour. The fries were bland and seemed like any average 'oven chip' you'd get from a supermarket. Staff were efficient and attentive though. Overall: Don't waste your time on this overpriced and seemingly overrated place.

The atmosphere in the new restaurant (our first time) is great and fresh Value for money (6 courses x 64 euros) is also quite great Some courses struck me with an unexpectedly annoying detail: they were SMOKING hot! Not spicy but temperature wise! Personnel, please warn your guests if they need to wait for half a minute before digging in... fresh off the wok or deep fried meals served without warning and I burnt my palette so bad.. You know how it goes: you bite a bitterbal at the beginning of a party and cannot taste anything for the rest of the evening and only suffer, suffer... Other than that, food was balanced, surprising, rich with seafood and other flavors. It did make a lasting impression. Especially Sichuan beef at the end and salmon at the beginning Desserts were on the contrary very pricey and unimaginative Ratio of mint to water in fresh mint tea also unacceptable - thanks, after burning my palette on the wok dish I am now drinking plain hot water 👍🏽 We will come back for food but not the desserts and drinks ;)

We ordered the set menu and all are delicious. The fish with its chewy texture is superb. Beef is crisp and tasty. The duck dishes (main course and the starter wrap) are nice and juicy, only a little bit too salty for me. Wonton soup is very good. Good portion and good value for price. Ambience is nice with some window seats looking over the church and canal. Good service too.

Excellent fine-dining Chinese restaurant in the center of Rotterdam. I had the 7-course Tasting menu, which I can definitely recommend. Some of the dishes such as the oysters, sesame chicken, Peking duck & clams were simply superb! And the service is friendly and attentive.

When I walked in I already thought it looked a bit fancy. Anyhow, that's fine. Let's see the menu. I was hoping for some authentic Chinese food, especially because when searching for such type of food the internet brought me to this place. Unfortunately when I looked at the menu I noticed that almost everything was in Dutch... I wondered where the Chinese characters where. I also noticed the price range was a little above my dinner budget, but manageable. And the staff was very friendly. I cannot say I liked the food much, nor can I say I dislike it. It was fine. Not authentic though. The interior of the whole place was very fancy. Extremely fancy compared to any authentic Chinese restaurant in China (as far as I've seen). Even the toilet was really clean and they used perfumed towels to dry your hands. Would I recommend this place? No, not really. I think it's more for a different type of people. Would I come again? No. The food was not exiting enough to come again.

It was great that it offers continued service throughout the day and without reservations. The place was modern and upscale with a small but varied menu including veggies and different types of meat. I really recommend the soup and the chicken. Nice wine by the glass menu. Outstanding service.

I visited Bierhandel De Pijp in Rotterdam recently and I must say—this place is something special. If you’re looking for a restaurant with history, character, and truly great food (that ribeye steak deserves special praise!), this is one you should put high on your list. Atmosphere & Setting From the moment you walk in, you know you’ve entered a place with soul. The interiors are nostalgic, almost time-capsule-like: dark wood, long communal tables, old photo frames, walls full of memorabilia, and yes, even the peanut shells on the floor add to the quirky, informal charm.  The open kitchen gives you a front-row view of the cooking action: chefs in crisp white coats, flames, sizzles, and that delicious aroma of steaks and traditional Dutch-French dishes being prepared. It feels warm, bustling, and genuine—not a polished show, but beautifully honest.  Service & Staff The service is friendly, approachable, and well-informed. The waitstaff seem proud to work here, often wearing tradition on their sleeves (literally: white jackets, chalk under fingernails, kind of thing). They’re helpful, they give good recommendations, and they don’t try to rush you. Even though the place is busy, there’s a convivial ease to the way things are run.  The Food: Ribeye Steak & Other Dishes Here’s where Bierhandel De Pijp really shines. I ordered the ribeye steak, and I still dream about it. Perfect sear, juicy, with a great depth of flavour—just what you want from good beef. It came with simple accompaniments that let the steak be the star: baked potatoes or fries, seasonal vegetables, perhaps a dollop of herb butter or a sauce on the side. If you like your steak with character (taste, texture, flavour), this one delivers. Other dishes on offer are classic and comforting. Think tournedos, baked mussels, fried liver with bacon and onions, stewed beef, capucijners with bacon—each dish feels rooted in tradition, well executed, and generous.  Price & Value It’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The quality of food, atmosphere, and history make the cost feel fair. Portion sizes are good, the meat is well treated, the drinks are decent. If you want a special dinner, this spot delivers. Some guests do note that a full meal with drinks can add up.  Things to Consider • Be prepared for loud ambiance: communal tables, chatter, the clatter of cutlery, and lively discussions. It’s part of the charm, but not ideal if you’re after a quiet, intimate night. • The decor is charming but worn—in a good way—but it can feel rustic. If you prefer things modern and sleek, this won’t be your style. • Make reservations when possible, especially on busy nights. It fills up.  Final Thoughts All in all, Bierhandel De Pijp gives you more than just a meal—it gives you a sense of place. The food, especially that ribeye steak, is excellent. The ambiance feels like coming home to an old friend you haven’t visited in years. For anyone who values character, history, and just great, well-cooked food, this is a gem. Will definitely be back.

Dined in Oct 2025. Dinner for two This is the oldest pub in the city. Full of history inside. But it is quite dark. The entrance is also very difficult to find. All the menu items were written on the white board hanging to the wall. We orderwd escargot, duck confit and sirloin streak. The food was food. However the service was slow. It took a long while between the starter n main course. The atmosphere was lively, especially when it was full house and everyone had a drink. One important note is the tips is expected in this restaurant. They first showed the bill without service charge, and then mentioned with service, it would be this amount. Not a complaint, just sharing my experience. It was still an enjoyable dinner

A new discovery for us, and by new I mean the oldest restaurant in Rotterdam. We picked Bierhandel de Pijp for dinner because it's nearby and we couldn't be happier with our choice. It's a traditional French-Dutch restaurant, with a history that goes back to the 19th century. We ordered the stewed beef with red cabbage and duck confit with sherry and plums from their mains. The duck was soft and tender, sliding off the bones easily and the sauce was was well-seasoned. The beef stew was also juicy and well-cooked. Both dishes came with pan-fried potatoes and a side salad. Potatoes were crispy with just enough salt, and the salad was well-dressed. For dessert, our waiter suggested the Zo'n Pakket, which had their homemade ice cake covered with pancakes, and covered with sugar. You can smell the pancakes as they are freshly made right in the middle of the restaurant, even before they arrive your table! The ice cake was delicious, and the warm pancakes complemented the cake so well. Our waiter was spot on with his suggestion, but he was wrong in that the plate was certainly not enough for 2 people. So we had to order a 2nd dessert, and we went for their cinnamon ice-cream. Their home-made ice-cream was served with cripsy cookies (kletskoppen), topped with whipped cream. Both dessert, I suggest you order as many dessert as you can from their menu since they were all very tasty and fresh made. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is cozy, it's full of easter eggs. Each time you look at a spot you notice something new. Their service is also really good, you can tell it's a well-established restaurant since the staff is very professional and knowledgable about the food. I went for a Sauvignon Blanc from Romania to pair with my meal, since it was the only dry white wine by glass they had on their menu. I wish they had more options by glass on the menu, then it'd be a perfect 5 star from me. Overall, we had an amazing meal, and really enjoyed our time at Bierhandel De Pijp, can't wait to go back!

I though there is a hidden gem and very local place. When you step in, the vibe and atmosphere was amazing. For me, the food was a little bit salute. I love the onion soup, it was taste likes home. And I would say very good services there.

A lively restaurant filled with youths. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the 1960s. There’s an English menu and the staff are friendly. My favorite cuisine is beef stew.

This has to be one of the best dining experiences in my life. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and we kept thinking about the foods and the concept even 2 days after! The dishes are great fusion of Asian and French influences! I cannot describe what i ate but I was in 7th heaven! Do go here!!! Definitely recommended!

Don’t sleep on lunch here! Everything about our lunch at Amarone was perfect. Delicious food (with appropriate portion sizes for a tasting menu), very warm service, and elegant decor. A memorable meal (in the best sense).

The food was, of course, absolutely delicious—truly Michelin star-worthy. However, the service made us feel uncomfortable at times. At the end of our meal, we felt rushed out of the restaurant due to a passive-aggressive comment made by one of the waitresses.

There is only one word to describe the dining experience last night: EXQUISITE.... from the presentation, the taste and including especially the service. These photos do not do justice to the perfection of the meal we had. Every single dish was crafted to perfection! The restaurant itself is elegant but unpretentious. Every staff member was highly knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. This extraordinary restaurant is pure class from every angle you look at. Highly recommended!!

We had a special evening meal at Amarone to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The good was beautifully balanced and well presented. The French flavors married with Japanese ingredients were amazing! They also did a great job of adjusting the menu for my crustacean allergy and pregnancy. Thank you!

What a beautiful experience! One of the best places we have ever been to. The food was amazing, and the staff and service was outstanding. Impressive wine list, and impeccable details from beginning to end. You will not be disappointed.

1. The place is huge. They have 20+ tables outdoor and like at least 30 tables indoor so finding a table will not be an issue. 2. The service is quick and very friendly. 3. The food was good. Nothing special or extraordinary. 4. Their ice teas are very good. I would recommend their ice tea. 5. Their tacos are overpriced. And I felt not worth the price. The taste was average. 6. Their burrito salad was a little bland. But adding their homemade habanero sauce will fix this. 7. Their sweet potato fries were the best. That was the tastiest dish we ordered 10/10. Overall a good restaurant. This is OK to go to if you're craving for some Mexican. Not my first recommendation for Mexican cuisine but this place is not bad.

Supermercado is what you imagine Mexican food to be if you live anywhere not in Mexico. I appreciate the serving sizes of the food and for what it is, it's serviceable. But honestly I almost forgot I went to this place until I went back to check out the places I've been in Rotterdam. It is popular with the locals though, and the place fills up pretty quickly during dinnertime, especially when the weather's good out.

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening. We sat inside, it was packed and loud. Tip- make a reservation in advance. We ordered the nachos and tacos which were alright. It came cold and dry. The surprise for us was the chicken and coleslaw. It was juicy and tasty. I also had the lychee cocktail which was nice! We spent close to EUR 200 for 4 people including food and drinks, which I personally found a bit steep for the quality of the food.

I went here for an apericena with friends. The service was excellent: the girl who served us was really kind and attentive, definitely a positive point. As for the food, the experience was mixed: • Nachos were okay, nothing special. • The burger was good and well prepared. • The salmon with rice and asparagus was tasty and well done. • The Mexican picanha was disappointing — it seemed more like flank steak than true picanha. • The French fries had an unpleasant smell, probably because the oil had also been used to fry fish. Prices are quite high, so we expected more attention to overall quality. 👉 My advice to the restaurant: take more care in selecting the meat and pay attention to the quality of the frying oil — it really makes a difference! That said, we’ll be happy to come back and give it another try.

The place has a nice and cozy atmosphere, the service was nice and fast. The nachos were really good but the tacos disappointed… they were a bit cold and the tortilla fell apart before eating. Would recommend the place to drink something and eat some nachos but the tacos are definitely overpriced for their quality.

My partner and I attended our friends birthday party at Supermercado and we were quite excited about the location however to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. For info we were with a group of 14 people and had the a la carte option. We took the picanha option with fries and corn. The picanha the waiter told me would be entrecote instead. The piece of meat seemed like it was quite low quality as it had alot of chewy bits that couldn't really be eaten. We asked for medium rare and it was basically well done. The chimichurri also didn't have a nice flavor in our opinion (3 people ordered same thing and we all had different nationationalities so it's also not a local preference or something) all in all the meat was pretty bad, the nachos that the group ordered and the fries were pretty good. So were the drinks. Would I go back? No the price for what I got was too bad in my opinion but I can see that some people might enjoy it

Drinks are great in general! The spicy margarita is really spicy and could be more flavorful. We got the chips and salsa (pico de gallo) which was disappointing. We were offered very little salsa for the amount of chips we got. Salsa was very watery and was more of tomato water. We found the chips to be better with the spicy mayo sauce from the jalepenos con queso dish.

They have written on their windows" owner of the best Burger in Rotterdam award" for several years. Well we tried it and its definitely true. A super Burger for € 14,50 with salad, sauce to choose, bacon and cheese, delicious. Also the steak tartare for € 10 was delicious. The rest of food is a bit more expensive but looking super as well, all around € 20/25. Definitely a place to visit in Rotterdam also for the friendly service staff.

I just celebrated my birthday at Baek and it couldn't have been better. The staff is amazing, the helped me out with everything! The food and drinks were perfect. Thank you for making this night super special for me.

One of the best burgers in Rotterdam! They have won many prizes for the burger too and it is obvious why. Quality and flavour are always great and the meat is so juicy. Our go-to spot for lunch usually, but also a lovely place for drinks in the evening. If a burger for lunch is too heavy, please try the chicken tosti! If you want to have drink here in the evening, especially around the weekend, do come early as it gets crowded fast! (good drinks menu too!)

This is a spot where you come just for the atmosphere. The place is warm and cozy, and is on a more expensive side. For me the price didn’t match the quality, and I got a visual pleasure but not a gastronomic one. Matcha wasn’t good (you can see from the color), and food was simply okay, but again not for the price indicated.

Wonderful attention to detail with a lovely variety of food choices. I was especially impressed by the vegetarian and vegan options (yes, they genuinely cater for both!). It is on the pricier side, but the freshness and incredible flavors made it well worth it.

Came to Bertmans on the high recommendation and praise of Jess from Hilton,Rotterdam. Met Adrian, lovely girl and brilliant recommendations. If I could wax love for a humble glass of Orange, don't think I am mad. We eat chillas or pudlas at home and it's a staple for Gujjus everywhere and imagine eating a dish called SOCCA to only find it's our humble pudlas or chillas!! Cold coffee with phenomenal coffee from Giraffe Coffee just the perfect way to end breakfast. For everyone who is vegetarian or vegan and searching for food , come here. I know my sister's vegetarian soul would be satisfied, so that's that. Thank you Jess and Adrian - memorable meal.

Popped into Bertmans today for Sunday brunch before going to a show. What a great experience, lovely decor, table by the window and an eclectic menu that makes it difficult to choose! So take the brunch platter and enjoy a taste of breakfast delicacies from around the world. Or be like my wife and opt for the smoked salmon on toast. Either way you can't go wrong!

Went out for dinner for my MIL’s bday and had an amazing time. The food was great, the waitress was really kind and they made sure everything was gluten free. Can’t wait for the next birthday in our family so we have an excuse to dine here ;-)

Héroine in Rotterdam absolutely blew me away. Tucked inside Het Industriegebouw, the space itself is stunning — high ceilings, exposed materials, and that perfect balance of industrial and cozy. It feels a bit like you’ve discovered a hidden spot in a warehouse, but with all the warmth and atmosphere you’d hope for on a great night out. We went for the 5-course tasting menu, and honestly, it was flawless from start to finish. Every dish felt thoughtful and surprising, but the oysters really stole the show. Perfectly fresh, beautifully prepared — they were easily the highlight of the evening. If you’re looking for somewhere in Rotterdam that delivers on both food and ambiance, Héroine is it. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Contemporary & simplicity 5 surprising courses🍽 Interesting contemporary fine dining rather than traditional fine dining. I liked the creativity - “new concept” of the fine dining, interior, staffs & atmosphere. However, there was no wow factor in the flavor but definitely worth to try!

The food here is absolutely amazing! It’s rare to find a restaurant where all the courses, including the amuse-bouches, are truly exceptional. These guys have truly outdone themselves. The service was friendly, but incredibly slow. It’s a real shame because it’s a showstopper. The ambiance also needs an upgrade. It’s reflected in the outfits of the guests, which is detracting from the overall experience. Despite these minor flaws, the price-to-benefit ratio is great.

We had an amazing experience the cocktails where amazing and the wine selection is excellent with really reasonable prices. The 7th course Menu was absolutely amazing and also reasonably priced. The staff was very attentive. After the dinner we felt full but not stuffed. However if you opt for the vegetarian option the servings seemed a bit like an afterthought with a lot of goat cheese and no “real” designated vegetarian dish except main. We also thought that the Deserts were nicely presented but a bit weak in taste/complexity. The bread was really tasteful although the dip could be improved. Nice restaurant, run by young personnel with lot of enthusiasm. The food was well presented, and depending on the course it ranged from excellent and surprising to good. The wine paring was well done, with good matching and sometimes a nice contrast - overall good wines. The service was friendly, attentive and the dinner pace was enjoyable. Overall the venue has a nice atmosphere and vibe - quite elegant but not pretentious. I loved that one of the chefs came to our table to answer some of our questions, and also provided some cooking tips! No major remarks, we will surely come back!

I came here for the first time to give it a try, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The staff member reheated fries that had been sitting in the corner by quickly dipping them into oil for a few seconds before serving them to me. As a result, the fries were excessively greasy and tasted off. Normally, other places would throw out leftover fries, but it seems things work differently here. This was both my first and last visit.

A very cosy and friendly spot for the ultimate fries! Really well cooked and served piping hot! The fries had the perfect combination of soft and fluffy on the inside to crispy and crunchy on the out. The lady serving was extremely friendly and always smiling. Will be hitting this place again, if not the chain! Well done and keep up the great friend! And yes, the fries are award winning!

Came near closing time and staff were overwhelmed with customers and delivery orders. They were still friendly and quick regardless! I didn't think fries could be THAT different in quality, but these were the best I've had in the Netherlands. Hot, slightly crispy, and nicely firm.

Most probably the best fries I’ve ever ate in my life! In combination with the truffle mayonnaise super yummy! My all time favorite since 2019 (the year when I moved to Rotterdam, The Netherlands). Always stopping by when friends from abroad are visiting. Directly located in the heart of the Witte de Withstraat. Definitely a must when in Rotterdam and craving for a fried snack. Also vegan options available. Also terrace in front to feel the living vibe of the street. I never paid cash so I can only confirm that they accept cashless payment 😉

People who know me know I loveeee French fries but Frietboutique (along with Bram Ladage) were a bit too heavy for my stomach. So I’m not saying Frietboutiques fries were bad but they didn’t sit well with me 😔. Aside from that the store itself is super cute, staff was friendly, and the fries were crispy the way I prefer them.

As an Internatiinal, I always enjoy french fried with plenty of source and nice atmosphere to wait for rain to stop. Cost is depeend on size from 2.xx euro onward. All other fried stuffs also nice to try such as cheese ball fried. No free wifi in the shop.

We absolutely loved this place, we had brunch here, coffee was nice and is available in decaf, which is not always the case in Netherlands. We had porridge, yogurt granola all of them are yummy especially the mango yogurt cup made of soy milk. The varieties of bagels and cream cheese are amazing and the hot bagel options are very nice, The price is also very reasonable with three porridge and yogurt granola bowls, two coffees and two sandwiches only €45. I definitely plan to go back again and can’t wait!

We ate breakfast at this cafe. Everything tasted well and there were several vegetarians options. Also the staff were very helpful and friendly. Please note that this cafe is a bit expensive. We paid over 20€ for breakfast.

First time trying out this popular franchise and what a treat! Tried the mushroom coffee which is unique and refreshing. Many different types of bagel to use as your base with 5 different types of cream cheese - the walnut one is highly recommended! The salmon options are lovely and fresh. Also tried the hagelsslag with chocolate sprinkles - very different!

Enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. However upon our first arrival our cab dropped us off next to the ship and it wasn't clear which of the three ways to board was the correct entrance, and eventually we figured out the entrance was the stairway tower with the broken elevator. There was also a noticeable difference between the breakfast buffet on the weekend and the weekday breakfast buffet. But we loved the retro vibe and the vintage luggage and ship displays. Plus walking the nearby small neighborhood which has a couple good restaurants.

A beautifully maintained ocean liner from a bygone era. Now it’s a hotel, museum and restaurant. It’s free to enter and roam around the public areas or visit the cafe and restaurant. However the all area tour requires the purchase of a ticket. There is a small cinema which is free to enter and showing a short video of what travel would have been like on this ship. From the top deck you also have a good view of Rotterdam and the harbour. I recommend to combine this visit with the FENIX migration museum which is in walking distance and gives a broader overview and shows videos of shipping of that era including film material of the SS Rotterdam.

Had drinks and appetizers in the Captain's lounge of the former Holland America flagship. They were very and the G&T was well presented, decorated with mint leaves and strawberries. While undoubtedly a great ship in the 1950s, I'm glad we are sailing on the new one tomorrow.

We had an excellent stay on the SS Rotterdam. We stayed for two nights in a deluxe room, including breakfast, and had dinner in the Lido restaurant on one of the evenings. This was our sixth stay on the ship. During previous visits, we stayed in a family room, which I don’t recommend due to ventilation system noise. The watertaxi platform is very convenient, allowing easy access to various locations in Rotterdam. It’s also a very pleasant walk from the ship to Hotel New York, the Erasmus Bridge, the Cube Houses and the Markthal. The staff were friendly and we had a wonderful time.

Honestly just a fantastic place to stay! Really felt like a unique one of a kind hotel. We were there for a week in July and my children talk about it every day. The little paddling pool for children on the top deck is fantastic!! The rooms are spacious and charming. But our favourite part was probably the water taxis which pick you up right outside and zip you across to the centre in minutes. Absolutely blew us away and we’d love to visit again one day!

My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is excellent with water taxi service right onto the ship. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and restaurant. The Lido open air deck is fantastic! Our room was a suite which was very nice. Finally, free shuttle to the cruise terminal (at least when cruising on Holland America, not sure about other cruise lines).

Water pressure is too low for reasonable shower. Size of the rooms is very good. My biggest concern with this property is that I was locked into the emergency escape stairwell with no way either back into the rest of the ship nor out of it. This is dangerous and unacceptable and the front desk did not recognize this problem.

Food— less ingredients in pizza’s not very well.. they gotta put more cheese and bake it more.. it isn’t same as like before.. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy. The pasta tasted good (although the bolognese sauce was a bit on a “watery side”). I’ve also added mushrooms to mine (you have a choice of different toppings to choose from for your pizza or pasta. The staff was nice, but it took a while for them to make their machine work, so i could use my card. So, overall with atmosphere in the restaurant it’s nice.

Big portions. Lots of sauce. Nice to eat when you’re hungry, but don’t expect anything spectacular. The salmon in the pasta was way too salty. In the shrimp pasta, there were only 6 shrimps (just a fact, not complaining considering the price). We liked that we could choose a pasta form, they even had a wholegrain option

Sea food pasta is way too watery. Chicken mushroom pasta is dry and no taste. Many seats inside also outdoor. Even it's not busy indoor, still wait long have drink and to check bill.

On two separate occasions, the meals I was served were of such poor quality that it was both disappointing and unacceptable. The second experience was even worse than the first, which makes it clear that this is not a one-time mistake but a serious problem in your kitchen. To make matters worse, the shrimp I ordered the first time was undercooked, which is a serious health risk. After I raised my concerns and reordered, the replacement came back burnt — showing a complete lack of care or professionalism in food preparation. It was not only my experience that evening. I also observed other customers voicing their dissatisfaction and requesting replacement plates. This proves the problem is not limited to me but reflects a much wider issue. Additionally, the waitress serving us was visibly sick, coughing into her hands while handling food. This is completely unhygienic and unacceptable. At the very least, she should have followed standard hygiene practices, such as coughing into her elbow, especially since she was serving food directly to customers. Serving food of such low quality, with unsafe preparation and unhygienic service, damages your reputation and shows a serious lack of respect for paying customers. If your team cannot consistently provide properly prepared meals in a safe and hygienic manner, then urgent changes are needed immediately. I strongly urge you to take action and correct these failures without delay. Customers should never have to question the safety, quality, or hygiene of the food being served.

What a lovely, cosy restaurant! We have been there several times, food excellent: tasty and fresh salads, Pizza and Pasta very delicious and really loads to eat. Everything has a reasonable price tag, no hassle on tips- you pay as ordered. Full recommendations!

Surprisingly, the foods are amazing! Came here for a comedy night the other day, so didnt manage to enjoy the outdoor seating, but the foods were great! It’s too bad that their beef wellington (the menu I was super excited to try) has bacon in it, so could not eat any of it, but the rest of the foods are really nice. Really nice settings, helpful staff, great food, nice wines, and verryyyy romantic. Price is also very reasonable. Perfect for a date night or cute brunch spot

Pretty cool spot to grab a beer or some food. It's a floating brewery and also has gigs and events. I had the brewers wiezen and it was pretty good. Food wasn't bad but it is a little pricey.

We had a wonderful experience at Vessel11. I’d highly recommend you check it out! The food was delicious. I know I’m going to crave their fish and chips soon. But it’s not only their main, the sticky toffee pudding was delicious, and I can’t wait to return to try the banananoffee tart, the chocolate lava cake, or the millionaire’s slice. The waiter who helped us made great recommendations, they were attentive and friendly. Couldn’t ask for more. The view from the top deck is lovely (if it’s a sunny day, make sure to check it out), but there’s also seating inside. If you needed any more reasons to visit - there’s a Pac-Man machine downstairs (which you can play for free) and a dance floor and piano. What a vibe! Go now!

A very nice unique restaurant on a boat. Beautiful red exterior and very cozy interior makes you feel very comfortable and excited. They have a nice terrace on the ship with a camp fire kinda setup in the centre and tables around the bar. The service is very nice and the food is decent. They also have a good options for the drinks you can order.

It is an ok british restaurant. Staff was very kind, house beers were great, but the food was just ok. Chicken quesadillas were fine, although the chicken was dry. Beef Wellington did not meet the expectations for the price. The meat was overcooked and dry. Salad and fries were good.

Got vouchers on social deal.. 45 mins from entry time we got the starters.. And our pizza came in 30 minutes from there... My appetite had pretty much died down by the time food came in... The pizza base is not the best The only pizza I liked was the Caprese.. Small portions and the slowest service 🥲 All in all would definitely not recommend on weekends...

I visited Sugo with a colleague shortly before closing time and we ate our pizzas while the hosts were preparing for closing. The atmosphere was relaxed, the taste of the pizza pleasantly surprised me, the friendly demeanour of the hosts felt nice and even though they got my order wrong, they didn’t add the mistake to the bill. I should definitely visit again and try different kinds of their pizzas.

Sugo is one of my favorite discoveries in Rotterdam. The pizza al taglio is light, fresh and really tasty. You can even share a plate and try different flavors, which makes it fun. Coffee here is fantastic have Decaf which is a problem in Rotterdam somehow, and the fact they open early is a lifesaver, especially if you’re staying at NH Atlanta next door (they don’t have a coffee lounge, so this place is a perfect replacement). The design is modern and fresh, eyes clean. staff are super kind and helpful, and there’s even an outside terrace where on warm days you catch a nice breeze through the street. Relaxed atmosphere, good food, great coffee, good people watching spot. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you❤️

This was a nice place, we split a very delicious pizza with an ultralight crust and also a salad that was very generous. My only complaint was they didn't serve tap water and we had to buy water. But that wasn't explained when my partner ordered water, the server brought us the bottle without telling us they didn't have tap water. I realize this is common in Europe, just like to be told in advance. Otherwise, nice atmosphere and delicious pizza.

ive eaten here a few times and it was pretty good, but today I ordered from here and the pizza tasted really bitter, then we realized its extremely burnt, and was inedible. I don’t know what happened, but won’t be going back.

It was a very cozy pizza (and not only) place, the service was very pleasant and professional, the redefined lamb kebab and pancetta and parmesan pizzas were so delicious! We also had tiramisu and cheesecake in a jar for dessert and couldn't recommend it enough either. Will definitely come back again. :)

Chicken and pesto pizza tasted great, very juicy with a crispy bottom and plenty of flavour. One portion is definitely big enough for two people, so the price also ends up being reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive. I also like that they organise their menu based of the healthiness level of the pizzas.

Have firstly tried typical Dutch 🇳🇱 Kroket of spicy chicken. Very delicious snack 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Not very spicy. Like sweet potato mixed with chicken smash contained inside crispy skin. MUST EAT@Rotterdam 😋😋😋

Food was great (in the iconic food hall) - and the silent video with the mascot croquet getting annoyed at anyone eating something that wasn’t Dutch made me enjoy it even more 😂😂) I had the Rotterdam Cheese and Beef Croquets in bread. (I might decide to go again tomorrow now)!! **UPDATE** I went back the next day and the beef Bitterballens were just as good!

The kroket/bitterballen options here are plentiful. The staff was very kind. Food was fried to perfection. I got the 6 bitterballen all vegetarian options and my favourite is the truffle one. Definitely recommend this stand if you're in the area and in Markthal.

We were there to celebrate my birthday/anniversary. It's a highly recommended place, and I'd happily rate it 5 stars. The decor is like something out of a fairytale. What a very cute place, full of decorations with a pink and unicorn theme. The service was amazing, just like the food. Thanks to the great recommendations I had the beef sliders in burgers, a burrata salad and the homemade lemonade with cherry, coconut and pineapple. The concept is food sharing so the dishes can be small and on the pricier side.

1. The decor of this place is amazing. It's tropical, it's colorful and the Neos signs give it a very vibrant vibe. 2. The staff are very friendly and patient. 3. The food is also quite good. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower wings and salad vegan kip. They were both very good and I would highly recommend it. 4. Their desserts are also very good. We got the cheesecake. It comes with a scoop of ice cream and some cut fruits. Overall it was very good. 5. If you're celebrating a special occasion they bring the desert with fireworks to make it a little more special. Overall a good place. Nice ambiance and people. I would recommend it.

I took my fiancée for our anniversary. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant were fantastic. The food was very good, I recommend the ribs. The only thing that could be improved is the pumpkin soup, which was too spicy and lacked flavor. I recommend this place to everyone.

The food is amazing here, recommend to visit with a small group as will allow to taste a lat of different dishes and to get a nice table in the restaurant. The decor of the place is impressive, depends on taste, but keeps you at least looking around for a while to see how they designed the place. All well thought through and really catches your eye. Staff is friendly and efficient in their service. With a little bit more attention from the service, it would be definitely a 10+ experience. One to bookmark for a regular visit during nice occasions.

At first I was uncomfortable with the menuless style, by the second course I was completely onboard. The staff explained every dish to us in great detail and we devoured everything they put in front of us, a total of 7 delicious courses. A huge selection of beers was the icing on the cake.

Could improve. The breseola, cured livar pork and olives together were a bit on the salty side for us to start with. The Wagyu burger wasnt as tender or juicy it could have been and the presentation could probably be improved upon. The main, grilled Angus chuck flap with chimichurri was pretty good though.

Great space if you need to work. There is plenty of places to sit. Very relaxing atmosphere. They have wide selection of teas like the name suggests plus their brownies are crazy good. They have Asian inspired sandwiches which are very tasty too. We came here already couple of times!

If you need a place to set up to work, this is a good spot. The tea selection is rather good, though it’s pretty expensive for the amount of tea leaves you get. Only expect 1-2 brewings from the amount you get. As an avid tea drinker, I am used to getting 3-4 brews out of my leaves. Also, they serve the tea in a glass cup that is hot to touch. Not sure why a place with tea in the name doesn’t serve the tea in a more appropriate vessel. I wouldn’t come back here just for tea.

Don’t forget to try the cakes!

I always see this restaurant around the city and the reviews on Google was always pretty good so went to give it a try. Chill fast casual dining place, you go up and order what you want. Nice thing is you get to see the pizza then they warm it for you. I ordered a slice of Not your Ordinary Margherita which had tomato sauce, mozzarella, crisps of parmesan and basil. I also ordered the Pancetta and Parmesan which had tomato sauce, mozzarella, honey, Italian pork belly, and parmesan. My friend ordered the Chicken and Jalapeno which had tomato sauce, mozzarella, pulled chicken, jalapeno peppers and BBQ sauce. To be honest we both didn’t like the pizzas. The crust was way too hard. The sauce was dried out. The portion did not justify the price point. Overall the taste did not make me want more.

I was there with my family and we have paid for all you can eat option (appetizer + unlimited 2hrs of pizza). Appetizer was served after long time +/- 45mins. It was tasty. Later we could order pizza from menu and waiting time was also long. I didn’t like this pizza at all - totally not my taste, pizza dough was really thick and every single slice was super fat. Girls working there were nice, but it’s not enough for me to come back there

I had a really great experience here. The girl working at the counter (a very friendly Latvian lady) was super polite and respectful. When I ordered my pizza, there was already a slice ready, but she was cutting another one and said she wanted to make it bigger with more chicken because “it has to meet our quality.” That honestly surprised me in the best way — you don’t often see that kind of care and pride in service anymore! The pizza itself was absolutely delicious, and her positive attitude made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend this place — great food and even better service! 🍕👏

I ordered two slices of vegetarian pizzas. One with caramelized onions and more and the other with mushrooms. Both of them were delicious, served at the right temperature, were thin crust and crispy. For desserts I ordered 2 Cannoliz, hazelnut and pistachio flavoured and they were sweeter and less crunchy than I'd like but almost good. The service was pleasant and the server's recommendations hit the spot. I will visit them again soon and it was a delicious meal

From reading really good reviews online (and being a pizza lover), I was really excited to try Sugo. But my god, I was so disappointed. Pre made pizza slices sat on a shelf that they just place into an oven to reheat. I ordered three different veggie slices, while my boyfriend ordered 3 meat slices. When we got the pizzas, one of my boyfriends meat ones was on my board which completely put me off. We persevered and tried to eat them, but it was bad. The dough was so dry, the toppings felt old and crispy and they were all just covered with sprinkled parmesan. They did not taste fresh, and the ingredients were cheap with thick heavy dough. From the restaurant and experience we were expecting, we were disappointed and won't be returning or recommending to friends or family. For people who travel to the Netherlands frequently, we won't be back for pizza at Sugo that's for sure. It was empty apart from one other couple and I can see why. Photo for reference is what we left...we only ate as much as we did due to being very hungry and saving ourselves for this experience.

Nice place, the pizza isn’t the typical one, but it was really nice and delicious, I liked the concept of choosing the slices you want and they will bake it for you. It’s a place to have quick bite and drinks while you are walking around the city. The caramelized onions is definitely a must try 😋

The pasta was quite good, but the form of serving was ugly when you are a visual person. Long waiting time for service, second beer ordered and on the bill - but never arrived

Unfortunately, the risotto was very watery and completely lacked flavor — I couldn’t eat it and had to leave the plate untouched. The pasta with shrimp and tomato was extremely bland and plain. It felt like no effort was put into the preparation at all.

I ordered bruschetta tomato and Pizza Delizioza. Pizza was delicious but bruschetta was missing nice olive oil and basil. Also sourdough was not very great. Panna Cotta was average and edelflower spritz cocktail was tasting more like mocktail. Service was good and atmosphere is not of fine dining. Also it was a little cold inside, seems like heaters were either not working or there weren’t enough for that large space.

Disappointing Experience – Will Not Return! We visited this restaurant on Tuesday, 5th of August 2025, as a group of 11 people, including 6 kids and 5 adults. We arrived at 20:25, with plenty of time before the restaurant’s stated closing time of 21:30. However, when our turn came to be seated, the receptionist told us that they could not accommodate us because the restaurant was closing at 21:00. This was absolutely untrue and ridiculous. We had over an hour before closing, and we were told to leave without any reasonable explanation. When we asked to speak to the manager, the receptionist claimed she was the manager, which we later found to be a lie. She showed no willingness to help or offer any kind of apology. Instead, we were dismissed, and the situation escalated with a brief argument. What was truly upsetting, however, was the complete lack of respect or professionalism. There were people sitting nearby watching this unfold, and it was an embarrassing and humiliating experience for us. We left feeling disrespected, and I cannot believe that a restaurant would treat customers this way. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and I will be taking my complaint to the highest level to ensure no one else is subjected to such poor treatment. This place has lost any future business from us. I strongly advise others to think twice before.

The waiter is really tough and even he does not smile or at least fake it as your job requested to smile, the one that he was taking care of our table. I wish i know his name but i was on the table 306 today afternoon 6pm.

Happy Italy is located in the southern district of Rotterdam and is a giant Italian restaurant with continuous service. Their price defies all the restaurants around. The dishes are simple but generous. No comments on the value for money. The manager should improve the organization in the kitchen, because the dishes arrive after almost an hour of waiting. Free first hour parking is cheaper at the end of Cor Kieboomplein.

get the fries, the fries are amazing. i got the truffle sauce, i will get it again.

The fries are great, but the problem is the prices of the fries and the amount of sauce they give. Ordered a medium fries and got an amount of sauce like its war time and we have to ration. Honestly Bram, give the people some more sauce, especiallt since they charge seperate for the sauces and quite a lot

I go there only to have fries. Given it ia a junk food l have it once a awhile. All the times l ordered small one it was very nice, but last time l was really craving to eat fries and l ordered a big one, it was bad. Pity!

We have dined twice now at Urban Tapri in Rotterdam, and each time, we had a delightful experience enjoying its wide selection of Indian street food; from its absolutely delicious Dosas (Sada and Mysore Masala) to Idli (steamed rice cake) and Medu (deep-fried lentil fritters), Bhatura (fluffy bread), Rajma Masala, and Dal Makhani. Authentic south indian food that we were looking for. We had dosa, vade, idli and 1 curry and a dal meal with rice. It was amazing. Service by Aaron was really nuce and very attentive to our needs.We'll definitely come back!

The food in this restaurant was amazing we tried Chat, Chole Bhature, Kachori and Fried Noodles with Manchurian everything was perfect. The staff here is very friendly. They take orders online even when you dine in which is amazing to avoid confusion. I will definitely visit this restaurant again and will always recommend it.

Got here at 8 pm on a Thursday, lots of open tables to sit and dine in. We ordered Dahi Puri (hollow balls filled with yougurt, chutney and spices), Chinese Combo (vegetarian noodles with Gobi Manchurian), Paneer Saffron Korma (paneer cooked in saffron, cashew and cream), Garlic Naan and finally South India Combo (Idli, Vada, Dosa). I really enjoyed the Dahi Puri, huge fan of Chaat now. The garlic naan portion was a bit of a disappointment, the value just was not there. All the food was solid. The owner was really nice as well. But honestly the value and taste was just ok.

The most authentic Indian cuisines we've savored in the Netherlands. I highly recommend Vada Pav, Mysore Masala Dosa, Masala Chai, Paneer Chilli, and Gobi Manchurian. However, the Misal offered a unique blend of sweet along with spicy flavors, deviating slightly from the usual spiciness. It was a cozy space when we went, but were told that they would be moving into a bigger space in a month or two.

An absolute must in Rotterdam! A wealth of dining options both in the hall itself and in the adjacent restaurants. The ceiling paintings make the place truly unique. Once refreshed, you can head out from this central location to the shopping area and many other sights.

This was a stop on our tour. The building is cool. The roof is decorated on an amazing way. But it was packed with people. Mostly food vendors and not a lot of room to move or see anything. Cool for 10 minutes but unless you need something time to move on. Others might have a different feeling but we walked a quick loop and left.

A really interesting place to eat! The prices are decent and you can find all kinds of cuisines. I love the Greek and Korean restaurants. Unfortunately, you have to pay to use the toilet, even if you’re a customer. I believe clients should have free access to the restroom. Also, I would recommend more spots to sear

Markthal We visited Markthal, also known as Market Hall, is a unique building popular for tourist destination offering a wide variety of culinary. We had our lunch and eating snack, enjoying food also explore the area, welcome atmosphere. Do take note it can be crowded. We had good experience here.

This is my third time visiting a restaurant in Eindhoven. I have always enjoyed the burgers and the staff there. This time, I visited the restaurant in Rotterdam. The chicken was a bit cold, and the milkshake was not very tasty. However, the fries are always good at all the branches. Overall, it is a very tasty choice.

Stopped here with my daughter for a quick meal. Restaurant is spacious and clean inside. You order on the self service machines which is easy and quick. We ordered a chicken and cheese burger, double cheese burger and so.e chicken tenders. The burgers were juicy and delicious as well as the tenders were juicy. Good fries as well. Not the cheapest burger joint around but worth the money.

Surprisingly good as far as fast food restaurants go. Flavour wise far above the big names. Thry actually use fresh meat and the toppings of the burger were very tasty. Also special shout-out for the frites, which were tasty and really not greasy at all! This might be my new go to for fast food if I ever crave it. Just wish the restaurant was a bit cleaner. Also seems the decor is only half finished?

We were in the look for some junk food very late on a Wednesday. So, we tried Waw burger. The place is open until very late every day, so it makes it convenient for last minute cravings. The staff is very friendly and helpful from the moment you get in the restaurant. We ordered Korean style chicken wings and some loaded fries, plus a strawberry milkshake. Everything was tasty and nice for the normal price you pay. Our favorite: the Korean style chicken wings! Crunchy wings with a nice glaze. Super delicious. We will def be back!

Absolutely well above average burger and the price may seem higher too but it's worth every penny! I ordered spicy burger and it was fantastic! (Could have been spicier for me since I am a chillies addict). Friendly staff, quick service.

I really enjoyed the food, the burgers and crispy fries were delicious. However, the cleanliness in the seating area was disappointing, with sticky floors and general untidiness. Improving this would make the dining experience much better.

A cozy Italian place in Katendrecht, a hidden gem for freshly made pasta. Burro e Salvia is a small Italian restaurant where you can find homemade fresh pasta and pizza. But do note that their pizzas are baked in an electric oven and it is a different style than the Neopolitan pizza. You can find a detailed explanation of this in one of the comments left by the owner, showing how much they care about their craft While they have a wide selection of pizza toppings, their pastas are especially great. I'd especially recommend their carbonara. They use good quality ingredients, often from Italy directly. The portions are generous and it is a great value for money. And make sure to end your meal with their homemade tiramisu, it is probably one of the best I've had recently in the Netherlands. The service is fast and our food arrived on time although it was busy on that day. Since the place is small, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you want to eat in.

This is a really nice place to eat great Italian food. This is one of the very few places in Rotterdam where you can eat a very good carbonara and an amazing tiramisu. The ravioli with melanzane & ricotta are nice but I'd not order them again. Overall the food is really nice but the price is a bit too high (when compared with other good Italian restaurants around the city). The place itself is small but cozy and the service is quite fast.

Really the best pasta and pizza in the city! If you want to eat in, it’s always a good idea to make a reservation here. The carbonara is super creamy and delicious. Simple wine menu with nice options as well. We’ve ordered in for home delivery, take out and dine in on multiple occasions over the last few years and it’s always been consistent in taste and quality. And the staff is really nice and friendly!

Terrific pizzas with lovely bread and very tasty toppings. Nice wines by the glass at a good price. Excellent friendly service as well. Highly recommended!

Update 2025: Still one of the best Italian places. Reserving a table is recommended, because food does sell out (something I actually really like). Still the kindest and hardworking people. A joy to be back here every single time. By far the best Italian food you can find in Rotterdam. Pizza's are leagues above everything else you can get, wine is delicious and the pasta's are absolutely amazing. Very welcoming and kind people. A treasure for the city.

I hope this doesn't come off as snobby, but here goes. 3 stars. We are real pizza lovers. Have read books about it, watched shows about it, etc. Based on the pictures and reviews of the place, we came in with high expectations. This looked like a place that makes great pizzas in an authentic neapolitan way. But. 1. There is very little place in the store. I was seated right next to the front door. But good pizza can make up for that. 2. We waited about 40 minutes for our pizza. 3. The pizzas are made in an electric oven instead of wood oven. This makes it less authentic, and doesn't crisp up the pizza as nicely, which made the crust a bit chewy. 4. The dough is said to be fermented for 50 hours, but it didn't have that nice sour "fermenty" taste. 5. The topping to crust ratio was very low. Almost half of the pizza was crust. This would have been ok if the crust itself tasted good, but see point 4. 6. The margerita pizza had too much cheese on it. On an american pizza, extra cheese is great, but on a neapolitan pizza with italian mozzarella, which melts differently, the result is that the pizza get too wet, and you end up with big chunks of chewing gum-like pieces of cheese in your mouth. So overall a medium experience. I definitely had worse pizzas in my life. Still, it was dissappointing. Thank you for listening to my ted talk. Absolutely amazing pizza! We ordered quattro formaggi and it was ready within 10 min. The service was very friendly as well. The crust was delicious and really fluffy on the edges. The only thing we would change is the size. I am definitely going to order there again!

If you like French fries, this is a must try place in Netherlands. You will find them in many places, Amsterdam, Rotterdam & Hague, etc. Tried almost all of their sauces and Liked their Frikandel as well.

It's just a little kiosk but the fries are so dang good - you can watch them cut the fresh potatoes right in front of you.

What excellent spot to have these delicious fresh cut before your face “Patat” dont call it frites. Its not. The amount of people using the wrong term is inhumane. Well lets get back to this “patat kraampje” excellent options if your a vega warrior they actually have a vega stew looking Patat option. Excellent outside crunch and semi-creamy interior. The brand brand is a well working Patat empire in the province of Zuid-Holland

Besides the delicious fries and snacks, I absolutely love the vibe at Bram’s kop van zuid. The service is great and good songs (sing alongs too 😁)!

I always take my break here on Friday. Very good food and always an amazing service. Rarely any issues and if anything happends they are quick to adjust

It was a cool looking food truck with some possibilities to eat outside. You could choose some classical dutch food and also some vegan alternatives. They make the fries themselves and have a great choice of sauces. All in all it was tasty but quite expensive.

We ordered fries, croquettes and 3 kaas bitterballen. The fries were lovely, the bitterballen was very nice but the croquettes were a bit too peppery so I couldn’t finish mine. My boyfriend absolutely loved the ketchup too. They had a nice small seating area outside which is nice and quiet. The staff were so friendly and very quick with our food. The meal cost us £14 which was very good because it fed two of us.

Great fries. I got the truffles mayo dip as it sounded the most appealing. There was a spicy one that'd be good too. The fries were cooked well and crunchy but a bit soft on the inside. Which is kinda perfect. Over cooked fries are the worst. Pictures don't do it justice at all. Glad I came here and tried them. If you're hungry, the medium size is a good option.

Unique and yummy bitterballen - a must try! Ordered 1 of each type and highly suggest trying these local eats. Crispy on the outside and soft and flavourful on the inside. I’d go back!

A small place with superb fries. The lady serving us was super friendly, explained that it’ll take a few minutes because every batch is freshly made. Fries are crispy, and come with a free refill of mayo. Cannot recommend this place enough. What a feast.

Nice place with outside bistro tables and a few benches. I have tried many potato places. But this place is the best. It separates the sauce. It's good that they don't spill all over your potatoes. Potatoes taste amazing. Do not always pass by here without stopping by.

I consider myself as a person who knows a bit about Turkish (kebap) cuisine since I lived in Turkiye for 28 years of my life and guess what was my favourite thing to eat during that time hahah. The reason I am stating these is because after several trial and error on finding a satisfying one as a kebap lover, I think I found the best Adana Kebap in NL which is resembling the tastes of the best ones I had during my time in Turkey. The meat is so tasty, so waterful and without any bad smell. The portion is really really good as well. The service was incredibly fast(my kebap arrived while I was still drinking my mercimek soup-which was also good btw and in the picture I shared-), and the staff were very helpful and polite. Atmosphere is also cool with delicious kebabs are on a show-off, getting cooked in front of your eyes in the big grill. Plants and decorations in the corners which gives a cozy feeling. Overall amazing place to hang out and feed yourself for some 30 mins to 1 hour. Already thinking what should I have in my highly probable second time! Cheers!

Delicious Pizza for a fair price in great atmosphere. Ordered the specialty of the house - the Marco Polo. Pizza contained many ingredients in a variation i never had before, but except olives i enjoyed everything (but olives are never my friend). 1 pizza is around 33cm (according to the menu) and was definitely big enough to fill me up. Fortunately i came late at night before they closed the restaurant, so the atmosphere was more quiet. Also got a chance to talk to the owner, who is a very friendly and down to earth guy. Overall i was more than pleased with this restaurant :) Btw.. students get a discount here!
