This is quite a famous spot. Every local will recommend you to come here and it is worth the hype. Their fishes are fresh and juicy. They are quite busy and it is recommended to have reservations. Got the pan flame grilled trout. Simply amazing. Also got the poutine which was flavorful as well. A must stop.

There is a reason locals and tourists alike rave about this place, it’s delicious! It’s been almost-30 years since I last ate here and it’s still amazing. The portion sizes are huge, the fish juicy, flakey, and delicious, and the walls full of memories. We tried the Lake Trout, Great Slave acid, and Inconnu, all of which I’d recommend. The fries are your standard fare and the salad, while initially an underwhelming pile of lettuce and shredded carrots, is quickly elevated with their house dressing that you can buy bottles of there or at grocery stores around town. We got our fish battered and deep fried, but you can also get it seared and pan fried. We went on a weekday evening in July, and while we didn’t have to wait, reservations are recommended to avoid waiting. If you’re in Yellowknife and enjoy some delicious fish, I highly recommend it.

Good fish and chips, well cooked. Helpful staff seated us right away. Perhaps the fries could be a little less on the dark side. We had the whitefish, both deep fried and grilled and both were good! A bit on the rustic side, but perhaps that is intended.

This is one of the best places to eat in Yellowknife. Food is freshly made and delicious. Some ratings have this as the best fish and chips in Canada. The walls are adorned with the signatures of past visitors and any photos or other items they've stapled thereto.

The restaurant has approximately 40 seats. We ordered white fish and beef, both of which were delicious and local beer. However, there was only one chef and staff member to assist a large number of customers at once.

This was some great fish & chips. Breading is light and not greasy, fries are hand cut, and salad dressing and tartar are handmade. The lone server and lone chef were hustling through a super busy lunch rush - both were polite and so efficient even though it was a full restaurant. We loved our lunch here!

A quaint little place that might seat 40 people at max capacity. Fish from Great Slave Lake is featured. Go early to get a table for supper! It was REALLY great food!

I ordered a Bison burger. It was a st.Patrick Day. I wanted to celebrate it here with their live music performance. Although the taste of french fries were too salty, the burger was good in that the bison meats is exceptional and unique. It was cooked very well. But i will no longer come back here because the staffs didn’t welcome at all. They just looked busy,but I don’t think they have no time to take care of a customer. When I just asked the seat I want, a server who looked like Asian told me I can have a seat wherever I want. However after that, probably Canadian man server shouted me a bit aggressively and he didn’t say any explanations , just he seriously required “ No!!!!! Just a counter if you are alone!!!!!” It made me confused sadly. I just asked him friendly what I wasn’t familiar with this pub, because it was first time to come in this pub. Additionally I understood they were busy and what he thinks for organizing their operations, but this is a customer service at least. my point is he shouldn’t have shouted any customers if he is a server officially. I was totally okay to have a seat at the counter, of course. His behavior was just so uncomfortable. Seems that they just worked to make a profit without caring customers. If they just do it, it would be same as McDonald’s, or less. I expected this pub was not like that because it was local. Also, another employee who works for here recommended me friendly to have an experience. I don’t say they should serve like a fancy restaurant, but they should recognize the experience there must be exceptional and memorable FOR CUSTOMERS, also it doesn’t matter whether the customer cane from the local or the international. It was genuinely disappointing to have my order at a counter alone after he shouted me, despite their food is pricey and fancy. If you are not familiar with Pub, I genuinely don’t recommend this pub at all, because the quality of their service and the price of their food. The server who shouted me at the beginning probably might say some excuse unfortunately… But he should notice this is a place any customers should be happy with you. I don’t like this pub even if the food is tasty,unfortunately. Why I became to be so sad with the fancy burger, gorgeous vibes at the pub, and good music performance in this day? Hope the owners will make some effort to make it better. Thanks.

We didn't experience any of the issues some reviewers seem to have trouble with. The service was just fine, our waitress was very nice. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. We had the Deep Fried White Fish, which is the special on Fridays. It was nice and flaky and while the Haddock is cheaper and a larger portion, the White Fish is locally sourced and the Haddock is not. We also had The Works Poutine, which was super tasty. I would eat here again without a second thought. However, if the owner happens to read this.. a "Please Seat Yourself" sign might be needed, as we did stand at the front like knobs for a couple minutes waiting to be seated, since we didn't know.

As someone who appreciates a good tavern, pub or taphouse, this was a nice find. Staff was great.

visited at lunch after holidays, atmosphere was great and Yellowknife locals were familiar but servers were too busy to checkout my bill. Foods were so good and I think it’s best burger meal I’ve eat at Yellowknife downtown.

The beer was cold and the waitress was excellent plus very informative. As it turned out the Black Knight seemed to be a very popular spot with the locals as the crowd increased in time. Compared with some other places in Old Town the prices were more reasonable for beer and food. As a bonus, we happened to be there at the same time that the band The Sheepdogs were practicing upstairs. They were in Yellowknife for a show later that evening upstairs and the sound was great downstairs in the bar. As for food the onion rings were good, unfortunately the chicken wings tasted like they had freezer burn. All in all a very pleasant experience.

The Black Knight is a great place to go to grab a drink or have a meal in a relaxed, comfortable environment. The food is excellent and the service is always top-notch, though it can be difficult to find parking.

Fantastic food and beer. Recommend the Ragged Pine pale ale for the beers. I got the brisket donair with fries and it was delicious. Having had donair and brisket all over Canada, this was one of the best. The truffle mac and cheese also looked great. It was very busy, about a 25min wait, definitely expect a wait if you come for dinner. Worth it though. Servers were friendly. Definitely check it out if you’re in town.

Amazing service, spacious, good food. Got the beer flights. Lime chicken wings were great! Their brisket dish was simply perfect. Good quantity, great taste. A great spot in the area for sure and if you are visiting you should definitely stop by.

Now that’s how you pour a pint! I had the pleasure of being served by Michelle, she’s AWESOME! I had never been here before and I was so excited. I’m a home brewer and had loads of questions about the beer. Michelle answered all of them, she even let me sample a few before I committed to a pint of their bent prop Pilsner (which was super crushable). The steak and fries were mighty fine too. Overall excellent experience with Michelle being the highlight! I highly recommend!

Drove from QC to taste their beers. 2 PM Saturday, on labor day week-end, sunny and 24 degrees outside. I was told the patio was closed, no reason given, I have a dog and can’t really leave her in the car while I’m having one or two of their flights. Despite the sign (pictured) we didn’t feel welcomed this afternoon. Last night was much better. More comprehensive staff I guess

Great spot in Yellowknife! We came here twice during our stay and it was excellent both times. Nice assortment of beers, though they are rotating taps so the menu is a bit inconsistent with what’s available. As starters the trout ceviche and brussel sprouts were both solid dishes. For mains, we had the donair plate which was exceptional flavours, the burger was solid, friend chicken sandwich was a knock out, and mac and cheese (with addition of pulled pork) was tasty. Service is good too! We went on a Thursday and Saturday during peak dinner times and didn’t have to wait more than 15mins either time.

Ordered way too much food but needed to try everything. Wow! Amazing food! Was getting busy when we arrived but service was great. Very attentive, friendly, and quick. Naturally, you need to graph a beer!

I gave this beer a 5. Because they strive for perfection, I usually give them a 4. The beer lacks malt roasting, resulting in a light, watery mouthfeel. However, the aroma is excellent, and the IBU(bitter unit) is generally high for me. Despite this, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this place.

Warm & cozy, located by the Great Slave Lake. Apple cramble and carrot cake looked amazing and tasted nice. worth a visit Note: Open on Sunday till 3pm while other most cafes in city center close

Nice little Cafe in old town with a solid menu and great customer service. I had the Veggie hamburger which was tasty. I particularly loved the pickle on the side.

Very nice atmosphere, lots of beautiful art. The service is great, very fast and very friendly. I had a double latte with a Carmel shot and it was fantastic. My husband and I both had omelettes, which we both enjoyed. I particularly like that the meal came with a fresh fruit cup with good quality fruit which is refreshing to find in Yellowknife. The prices are fair for the value of the meal, overall we had a very enjoyable brunch. I always forget to take a picture of the food before eating part of it because it is too tasty to not eat right away.

Good taste and atmosphere but little bit expensive. There are breakfast and lunch. All the times on Sunday, you can should breakfast or lunch.

I recently dined at Traders Grill for lunch and it was a delightful experience! The Canadian Western cuisine truly impressed us. We tried the Elk Goulash and the mixed northern salad, both of which were bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations that enhanced our meal. The staff consistently ensured we had fresh water and promptly cleared our dishes after each course, making us feel well taken care of. The atmosphere was quiet and rustic, providing a casual yet charming dining experience. The spacious layout and stunning views of the snow-covered forest added to the overall ambiance, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy our meal. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality and value of the lunch menu items made it worth every penny. A great place to unwind, have a nice meal, with great customer service. I arrived close to closing time and was welcomed without feeling like I was an inconvenience nor did I feel rushed to finish my meal and get out. I’ve been here several times in the last few years traveling here. Food is consistently amazing. Steak is tender and flavourful, and their northern salad (not pictured) was surprisingly good that I ordered it again. Elk burger was tougher than I’d like but flavour is good. Staff are very friendly, though seem to be short staffed often. So it usually takes a long time to get seated as staff are busy and also don’t see you from the entrance (waited 10 minutes in a visibly half empty restaurant once without anyone coming by). That’s my only gripe.

First the good: beautiful dining room with a great view, was seated right away and served promptly. Wine selections included Canadian choices and the portions were generous. Prices were high as expected. Now the struggle: food was mediocre at best (salad was overdressed and served in bowl difficult to eat from, squash risotto had me hunting for tiny bits of squash and was not well seasoned. And at this price point I didn’t expect butter in a little plastic packet). But mostly I was disappointed that so little seemed to reflect local possibilities. Why Wagyu? (The server couldn’t tell me where it was sourced.) Chicken Kiev and lasagne seemed out of place. It’s summer here and I can see local folks growing kale, raspberries, rhubarb, lettuce and other fresh food in their yards—perhaps there is a business opportunity for a local grower to supply restaurants like this one.

The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived around 1 so we had great, friendly quick service. The menu is not not extensive but we both found something appealing and the food was very good. We had a beautiful window view and a bonus was free parking.

There were a few things off the menu when I was ordering at 6 pm. However, there was enough left on the menu to pique my interest. Food is prepared and presented at a higher level than most restaurants. Seasoning was perfect, as was the cook on my Ribeye. My server was professional and knew exactly what was off the menu and made sure I understood before she left. I enjoyed the meal.

Was an amazing dining experience. Had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The dessert was a great way to end the meal. The staff were attentive and professional. The atmosphere is comfy, cozy and elevated by the lit fire place.

Went to the 2025 soft opening. I had the Shankys Whip with cream, let me tell you that drink takes strong perseverance to drink, delicious but strong. The pork hash was simply tasty, the breakfast sandwich is so filling, like a 3 course meal. I can't wait to go back when the full menu is available.

We were so happy to eat here after a 9 hr drive. We had the prospector board and the morrel mushrooms. It was divine! This was the best canadian food I have ever had. Canada is more than poutine! I want to bring the chef back to my home town to show them what Canadiana food is really like. Even my teenagers where happy with the food. It was nice to hear so many languages at this place.

Great little place with history. Built in 1935, now is a summer time restaurant. Place was clean with spotless washrooms. Sat outside and saw the beginning of a sunset over the lake. The fish dip was good, but their fried fish dinner was excellent! Service was great! Young man that served us was very attentive. I recommend you five this little eatery a try!

Excellent food! Freshly made with obvious love of culinary delight. The coffee was well brewed which is always a perfect bonus. The service staff are kind and diligent. The log cabin is cosy and with the food being so good, it makes it hard to leave. Plan on ordering multiple items to share if possible because the entire menu is definitely amazing!

The cafe had a really beautiful view. At first, I thought $10 for a pie was a bit expensive, but it was almost the size of two women’s palms and tasted great, so I was satisfied. I wanted to go back again, but unfortunately, it was closed on Monday and Tuesday, which was a bit disappointing.

Delicious food and good atmosphere to this place. Really enjoyed the goat curry and my fam enjoyed their food as well (chicken curry, beef special, and a lentil dish). Would recommend it for a good meal. Portion size was large and none of us could finish before getting full.

Went for lunch even though we're not very hungry but wanted to try the food. Wrong move - the food was amazing but the portion size is just too big! I think the portion size works for two moderately hungry people. I ordered the curry chicken and rice platter which comes with a vegetable salad. The food is very flavoursome and irresistible. Warning, if you feel the food is hot don't try the sauce/chutney served with the platter thinking it'll make things cooler - it's HOT!😁 I also tried some stuff from the Mahiberawi Combination that my friend got and instantly regretted that I didn't get it. I'd totally try that with rice!

I odered infront of your counter for take away, the packaging is pack sealed with sticker, you repeat my order but still I dont see my side coleslaw on my order

I have Celiac disease and cannot tolerate any gluten. Last night I ordered a GF pizza. It looked different then the cauliflower crust I usually order but I thought maybe BP changed their supplier. So I ate it. I have been so, so sick ever since. Clearly their staff has not been trained in the seriousness of this medical condition. Gluten Intoletance is NOT a dietary whim. It causes serious harm to the intestines of those with Celiacs. Shame on you BP.

Servers were swearing and eating behind the bar, not dressed appropriately. Food was cold. I worked at BP Swift Current years ago and what I saw when I was in Yellowknife would never fly. Its not the BP standards.

Came to BPs to celebrate my gfs birthday, the entire restaurant was freezing, got our food then we were never checked on again. Took forever to receive our refills once we were able to get the staffs attention, could not finish our food as we had waited for refills we ordered spicy food. Then when we finally got our drinks everything was cold but we still ate and tried to enjoy the birthday dinner, once we were done the person waiting on us asked if we needed anything we asked for take away boxes she said she would grab and be right back with the machine to pay for our meals, 15-20 mins passed as we were talking and waiting she never showed up so we left our leftovers and walked to the front and paid for our meals and did not leave a tip. The person waiting on us was nowhere to be seen not one waiting staff on the floor. I froze sitting in that family lounge area, ppl even had children with their jackets and sweaters on.. can you not turn the heat on or keep it at a decent temperature? Not everyone is hot while eating or likes to be freezing. Had not been back home in years and BPs was my favourite especially this location now not so much.

I have lived in Yellowknife for 13 years. Used to order and spend time in Boston Pizza for all those years. For the last two years the quality of food deteriorated significantly. Today I have ordered pick up, after a very long time promising myself never use their service, pizza… the dough was flat, not rising at all and salty like the cheapest store pizza. I do sometimes my own pizza and tell that the dough was taken out to thaw and put back in the freezer due to low demand in the day (no doubt they have low demand). When unfroze and re-froze pizza that is what happening with it. This Yellowknife franchise goes down the drain with the food quality. I will write complain to their franchiser headquarters to draw attention since I receive this horrible food quality not the 1,2,3 time. I guess I was too patient… sorry guys you shouldn’t run this business. Attached is the so-called carbonara pizza. I don’t even comment on the quality of the pizza sauce (taste may be subjective)

I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. It seems like they take advantage of tourists. From the moment we entered and placed our order, no one mentioned that there would be a 15% service fee. It was only when we went to pay the bill that they informed us it was the store’s policy. The waiter claimed that every restaurant in Yellowknife does this, but that’s simply not true. Our total came to $31.50, and with the service fee, it was $36.50. I paid $40 in cash and decided not to argue further—I didn’t want to let this ruin my good mood while visiting Yellowknife. Unfortunately, this was our last meal here. Apart from the comfort of a hot soup on a cold day, the food was bad. We were the first customers at this restaurant today, and aside from taking our order, no additional service was provided. I strongly question the justification for this unreasonable service fee. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The food was good, I recommend the vermicelli dishes with spring rolls, they’re tasty and well priced. The rest of the dishes I think are a bit over priced given the atmosphere of the restaurant. Service was quick, though the place was empty when we went. I would come again for lunch.

The moment we walked in, the atmosphere already felt strange. After the previous customers left, the staff didn’t even bother wiping the tables — new customers had to find a clean one themselves. Within just a few minutes, they started pressuring us to order, and when we asked questions about the dishes, they simply refused to answer. The pho broth was sweet, which I’ve never encountered before — easily the worst pho I’ve ever had in my life. Just a few sad, thin slices of meat floating in it. My friend ordered the chicken leg rice, and it was completely burnt and so tough it couldn’t be chewed. When we asked the server, “Is your chicken usually cooked this way? It’s so hard to chew,” her response shocked us — “Yes, it’s always like that, it’s because of the chicken breed.” What kind of ridiculous answer is that?! And she said it with total confidence! We also overheard the staff mocking customers and making rude comments about people after they left. When we went to pay, the server didn’t show us the invoice — just handed over the card machine. We felt the total seemed off and asked to see the bill, only to find out they had automatically added a 15% tip without telling us! The whole time we were there, we didn’t even get water or napkins — zero service — and yet they secretly charged a tip. Absolutely unacceptable. Honestly, I think the owner doesn’t even care about bad reviews. Since there isn’t much competition in this small town, they’ve gotten used to treating customers poorly, as if we have no other choice. It’s such an arrogant attitude. But there are plenty of other restaurants in town that are delicious and friendly — do yourself a favor and avoid this one!

Food was fresh and arrived quickly. The broth for the pho was excellent, proper slow-simmered bone broth, and generous portion of noodles, meat was sliced nice and thin. Does not come with beansprouts or mint which I’m assuming might be because those would be more expensive / less available up here, but still tasty. If you’re used to ordering Vietnamese carrot salad elsewhere and are hoping for this to be a veggie side, the salad might be a little disappointing- it had very few carrots and was mostly iceberg lettuce, but they did include a huge amount of shrimp to make up for it.

I went in expecting a pretty bare-bones experience after reading other reviews, which is usually just fine, but this place was sparse, empty, and dingy. From the hard-slamming door when you walk in, to the uncertainty of sitting down or waiting, to the overall grubby feel of the place, it’s not exactly welcoming. Service wasn’t particularly quick, and the food came out one plate at a time, with minutes between each dish. The beef noodle soup was tasty, and the rare beef the perfect level of doneness. A few minutes in the broth and it was tender and delicious. The chow mein was disappointing. We had the noodles crunchy, and they seemed to have been fried while still dry, resulting in an unpleasant texture and flavour. The veggies and meat were done well, but there wasn’t a lot of sauce. The hoisin sauce seemed to be watered down with something like Worcestershire sauce, making it quite running and an unpleasant flavour. Overall, we were unimpressed. I’ve heard good things about the place, so maybe we just caught it on a bad night.

Awesome food at a reasonable and pocket friendly price. It's located at the heart of downtown and usually opened till 8pm in the evening. The food is delicious and they do follow the customization requested. The staff is friendly and approachable. I would definitely recommend this place for having Vietnamese food.

Ordered takeout. The salad rolls are good, nothing else really impressed me. Pricing was fair.

Beef noodle soup super delicious. Fried spring rolls also quite good but the steam one soso (skin too thick). Fried ice cream 5/10.

I had Vietnamese food after a long time and I loved their soup very much. The staff was friendly, helpful, courteous, and very kind. I recommend this place.

The handwritten order slip, now a rare sight in Vancouver, was an experience I unexpectedly relived at a Vietnamese restaurant in Yellowknife. Today, with strong winds sweeping through Yellowknife, we stepped into this local favorite. We ordered two bowls of pho and some fried spring rolls. The steaming hot noodle soup warmed us from the inside out, a particularly comforting delight on a cold windy day.

My experience at this restaurant was a bit hit and miss. While the food was decent, it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, including pho, a rice vermicelli bowl, wonton soup, fried rice, and chicken wings. Most of the dishes were satisfactory, but none stood out as exceptional. What really threw me off was the service. When we placed our order, the server rushed us through without confirming what we had asked for, and seemed a bit on edge. To make matters worse, they mixed up our order and brought us three plates of spring rolls that we hadn’t ordered at all. All in all, it’s a place worth trying, but with the service issues and average food, I’m not particularly eager to return.

BEST Vietnamese Pho in town!! We ordered beef and chicken pho, fried wonton and also a fresh salad roll. The taste was very nice and very warm. The staff is friendly and if you find yourself so cold in YK, please pay a visit and enjoy a warm soup here!

Great little sport to enjoy some sushi in downtown YK. Have eaten many times and always satisfied with food. Some good eats under $20.

I came here with my family in the freezing winter, and we had a pretty big meal together. My favorites were the Arctic Char, which is not usually found anywhere else, and the dragon roll, which was much tastier than most other places I've tried. The rice was just right. It was soft but also exactly firm enough to feel really good. The fish, compared to most places I've been to, was very, very fresh for its price range.

Pleasantly surprised that there is sushi in Yellowknife. Service was quick and friendly. Considering where we are, I can only assume prices are reasonable. I had an Arctic char platter with 3 nigiris, 3 pc roles, and 6 maki pieces for $20. I wish they would be a little more generous with the portions, but in the context of where we are, it's fair.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem, Red Apple, while traveling in Yellowknife! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is absolutely amazing. The combination of Chinese and Western dishes is very well balanced, and both the beef noodles and breakfast sandwiches leave you craving more. Especially on those cold Arctic nights, having a steaming bowl of soup feels like pure bliss! I highly recommend their homestyle dishes and specialty drinks. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Yellowknife to see the Northern Lights! I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Yellowknife!

Visited with my family and was very impressed! The kids' menu is a great touch, and my children loved the sweet and sour chicken. A must-visit if you're in Yellowknife!

Ordered the “meal for one” and it didn’t meet expectations. It arrived at the table within two minutes of ordering so it’s likely that this was made a long time before and simply reheated in a microwave. The rice surely tasted as if it was microwave reheated and probably made the day before. Despite the other good reviews this place received, in future it may be wise not to order the meals for one. Custom make your order so that it’s freshly prepared.

The Red Apple Restaurant has a wonderful variety of Chinese and Western cuisines. It's located in the core downtown Yellowknife at Franklin Road. The staff is extremely courteous, warm and friendly. The food platter is delicious and the portions are massive compared to any other restaurants. Would highly recommend it if you're craving for some Chinese and Western cuisine in Yellowknife.

Good. Potatoes slightly undercooked. But good for the price. Update came back and ordered meal for one and the rice was old and hard and not warm. It came out like 2 mins after I ordered it so I suspect it was already made and dishes quickly. It was very disappointing.

Loved the cozy atmosphere at The Red Apple Restaurant. The staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly. The dumplings and fried rice were some of the best I’ve had!

While chasing the Northern Lights in Yellowknife, I stumbled upon Red Apple Restaurant — it turned out to be the warmest meal of my entire trip! The food was delicious and perfect for the cold weather. It warmed me up from the inside out! The service was also very friendly and made me feel right at home. After a hearty meal, I was recharged and ready to go aurora hunting — such a perfect arrangement! Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Yellowknife!

The fish tacos are delicious! Highly recommend you try one of each. The curry sauce was a pleasant surprise with the mango slaw! Culturally relevant and fun nic knacks are displayed all throughout the restaurant, which we loved!

Hands down if you miss this restaurant!! I will be sad you did. Staff, food and atmosphere where fantastic. My partner is doing a locum right now. I am on my way home. Don't pass this gem bye. I will look forward to coming back!

I was looking for a sixth star for atmosphere—talk about over-deliver! A different seat would give you a different experience every time. When it comes to the arctic, context is everything, and when you consider the location and the unique challenges that come with running a restaurant in such a place, Alestine’s is something of a culinary miracle, every day. The small, “of the moment” menu, based on what’s fresh, just caught, local, and/or, authentically Canadian, offers hearty portions and even heartier service in surroundings that are sure to provide a little magic for even the weariest traveller. And a jam jar of wine is always a good idea. Bring your appetite, pull up a stump, marvel at every story filled book and cranny, and be assured you will leave very well looked after!

Surprising setting, very friendly welcome, pleasant atmosphere. Excellent food. Do not hesitate! It’s a shame that we live "a bit far" (in France), we would come back with pleasure.

This place has a vibe of its own you just need to sit down to enjoi. Really loved the relaxed atmosphere and a hot bowl of chili and fried bread on a cool late august evening on the patio.

We had a great time and great food at Alestine's tonight. Whitefish and chips, pulled pork poutine, and fried bread dessert -- all excellent and good sized portions. The staff (owner?) was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. She (and everyone else there) also sang happy birthday to my wife!

This place is a true northern gem! We came to town after a days worth of driving off the dusty dempster and sat at a table with other folks who soon became friends. White fish and chips were great. The fist tacos were next level particularly this far north. Try the dessert as well!

Our group visited this restaurant for lunch, and it was a pleasant experience from start to finish. We were greeted with warm hospitality and attentive service, making us feel welcome right away. The food was very authentic, offering a great selection of Chinese and Cantonese dishes that truly impressed us. While the decor may feel like a step back in time to the 70s, it adds a nostalgic charm to the dining experience. The prices are reasonable given the quality of the food. Conveniently located in downtown Yellowknife, it’s just across from the Yellowknife Visitor Centre and a short 8-minute walk from the United in Celebration sculpture.

Visited in holiday and ordered a set menu for my dinner. Food was OK unfortunately I lived at South Korea and my Chinese food experience was almost over 30 years and have a hard tasting mouth :) But the day when I was visited, only owner worked at this place and looked so busy to care for their customers.

This local family-run restaurant serves up both Chinese and Canadian cuisine. The menu is very broad and there is a wide variety of options to suit all palates and dietary preferences. The pan-fried whitefish was prepared fresh-to-order and was very tasty. There's usually ample seating available inside and takeout is a popular option here as well. The staff are very friendly and happy to make suggestions for the menu, and service is generally quick and efficient as well. Definitely recommend visiting for dinner!

The worst restaurant ever! Ordered 3 dishes Hot and sour soup and Beef Chow Fun . Salt and pepper squid they charged me $77 before taxe ! Crazy! And then stayed all night for washroom. Almost got food poisoning! Be careful!!!

I’ve eaten here a few times before and really liked it, but this time was a huge disappointment. The soup had way fewer ingredients than usual, and I ended up having stomach issues several times after getting home. Honestly, if I could, I’d give zero stars. Really disappointed and concerned about the food hygiene.

So I came here with a small group of business associates based upon a local's recommendation. So glad that I ate here. So glad that I went back for a second time, my last night in Yellowknife. Gotta make sure that your last supper is AMAZING! Boy was it amazing! Staff is extremely friendly. Owner, who is also the primary server, makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. Food is well prepared and on point! All prices very reasonable for North and South of 60. While they appear to have a typical steakhouse menu, things are locally sourced where possible and have a local twist. Rib eye is bison, bread is bannock, seafood chowder is arctic char. They even paired up with the local brewery to create their own pilsner. This restaurant is heavily involved in supporting community and local youth groups. Specific menu items are tied to local fundraising efforts making everything a win-win. Good food and you are supporting a local cause. With their menu combined with supporting local programs, they bring "buy local" and "buy Canadian " to a whole new level. Love it! The next time that I am in Yellowknife, Coyotes will be on my list of places to eat. Perhaps I should shut up and keep this jewel of Yellowknife to myself.

This is a place in Yellowtown where you can enjoy delicious, high-quality food. The plate, featuring buffalo steak and salmon steak, is generous and serves up a variety of local specialties. It's not too salty and delicious. It seems like a popular spot for tourists seeking to see the aurora.

Ed the owner is very friendly & knowledgeable about Yellowknife. Great service, food was amazing. We tried the escargot, stuffed lobster, chowder soup, bison soup, surf & turf and everything was so delicious!!! Ed also recently had his own beer made called the Coyote’s Pilsner..great beer!!!! Definitely would go again and a must stop for people visiting Yellowknife. We need more restaurants and Ed’s like this in the world. Thanks again Ed.

I love this place- I ALWAYS come here whenever i’m in town and it never misses! It hits every time! Everything about this place is a 10/10, the food, the service, and the vibe haha. The owner Ed is so nice! He never fails to make you feel welcomed and goes above and beyond to make sure your time spent is worth it! The mojitos and delicious food here always keep me coming back to this wonderful place:) Should definitely check it out if you haven’t yet!

We stopped in for a late supper. We had Arctic Char Bites, Stuffed Yorkshire, Prime Rib Surf and Turf and Classic Ribeye. We don’t get to Yellowknife often but Ed remembered us from his previous locations. Ed really pays attention to the guests and was even passing on his knowledge to other employees giving them tips on how to better serve guests. The food was fantastic and so was the service. We also love that Ed supports the NWT SPCA. I saw a recent post where he was donating money from the sales of the surf and turf, their limited edition beer and even donating $5 per post of people’s dogs. Way to go Ed.

Visited on saturday 12pm. As an operating hour I checked with google map, it opens 3pm on saturday, but,,I don't know it is wrong or just they made a meal for us 😅 Anyway, it was quite good experience. Food was delicious, proper portion. Staff wasn't so kind, friendly but I think she is just introvert, she wans't so unkind as well. Not bad. The only thing I notice to others, ventilation system in the place was not that good. We felt something spicy in eyes, it was pretty uncomfortable to enjoy meal. Almost everything was self-servied. (but as situation, she served sometimes)

It was really really fantastic! It’s a little pricey but the food is well worth it! I had the schnitzel with mushroom gravy and extra salad instead of fries, with tartar sauce on the side, as shown in the first photo. In the second photo, I got the battered white fish, with fries, salad, and a side of tartar sauce. As someone who eats fish a lot, I promise this is a dish. Well worth it! Great portion sizes as well. I will be back to try everything on the menu! Fantastic food and great service. 1000% recommended!

Cozy little restaurant where you can savour German cuisine in Yellowknife! The Jägerschnitzel (Pork schnitzel topped with homemade mushroom sauce) was delicious! The ambiance was great with German tunes playing. I liked that I could order my meal directly by scanning a QR code, so I could take my time to choose what I wanted, and I was quickly served by the cook and owner. Some might find this odd, but it's great ingenuity in 2023! Good luck and prosperity to Shania, I will definitely come back! Prost!

A cozy place to grab a great meal, we had the fried eggplant followed by the schnitzel. Both dishes were delicious and portions were on point for the price. The self serve drinks are a nice touch and I like the laid back way of ordering your food as well. This young entrepreneur has a great thing going.

Overrated. Has metered parking outside. Food served hot. Portion size is decent. Whitefish was very bland and oily. Schnitzel was good. The salad sauce was yum.

I don't exactly care for their new ordering system. It requires the use of your cell phone to place an order. How do you expect people to tip before knowing the service? I visited with my wife and infant. The place has very poor ventilation, and the fryer smoke constantly filled the dining area to the point where I was coughing and eyes were burning. Remember how I said you ordered on your cell? How can I order a glass of water when I'm dying from smoke inhalation?! I felt bad for my little one, and ended up going for a quick walk out in the cold to let him get some fresh air. It's a shame because the food is really good. I had the schnitzel burger and fries. Another downside to Elke's is that they lack variety for those who don't eat pork. No chicken schnitzel, or vegetarian options. We ordered the Buttercream cake, and was told the last slice was already sold. They replaced it with a peach cobbler, which tasted flavorless and doughy. Was very disappointed with dessert after a good schnitzel. Waited approx 45 minutes after ordering until food arrived. Small dining area. Reservations recommended for dinner service. I'm a patient person. I've been a server and a waitress myself, I worked customer service for a while in my past, but this place drove me crazy. My partner and I came here for dinner even a little before 6 pm. He asked about how things work here and got a sloppy reply from the waitress. We then started thinking about what to order, the waitress came back and we asked for like a couple more minutes to figure out what we wanted. We had our order ready in the following two minutes. Five go by, no one's coming. The tables around are being served and (partly) cleaned (they were floating around the place as if they didn't know where to be, the two waitresses). Ten minutes go by, we start looking around and talking, keeping the menu on the side to indicate that we're ready for ordering. Fifteen minutes (I'm not joking when I say it took this long when we only asked for a couple of minutes) go by and she finally approaches, saying "oops, I forgot about you guys. Are you ready to order now?" We were flabbergasted. It can happen (although I have no idea how, when the dining area is that small and not all tables were filled), but apologise properly then, no? Our order was edamame, salmon maki, and one of the combos - beef on rice and California rolls on the side. Literally we've ordered that before in different places and our food was fresh and ready in no time. It took them THIRTY MINUTES to bring our our edamame (for those who don't know, edamame cooks in about 5 minutes, you sprinkle it with salt, and voilà). EVEN PEOPLE WHO CAME AFTER US WERE BEING SERVED FOOD - and their orders seemed to be bigger, too. At 7:15 pm we got served the rest of our food when I had made eye contact with the server and she rushed into the kitchen as if she would have forgotten about us once more. No apologies for an hour wait at all. We were going to leave in the next five minutes if our food would not have come. It wasn't the freshest, it wasn't beautifully presented, it was definitely not worth an hour and a half of our evening. What really got us was the other people who came in later than we did, getting food first although ours was just that simple and we had been there for AGES. We got the sloppiest and most careless apology, and that's when we learned to never go there again. The worst dining experience I have ever had. If you're busy or the food is taking longer, you should KINDLY address that with the customer, offer water refill or something... All of that is understandable. But this was one hell of an experience... Never again. And, hey, the picture I took and posted here was not taken after we touched the food. This is how we got it, the fork was basically tossed there in between the plates, too. Was it worth the wait? Now you tell me.... Arrival: around 5:50 pm Order taken: 6:15 pm EDAMAME received: 6:30 pm Rest of the order received: 7:15 pm Food finished: 7:25 Paid and left never to return: 7:30 pm

It’s an awful experience. We’ve been waiting for 40mins after order. It feels like forever and only four tables guests in the restaurant. I couldn’t understand why it took such long time. The worst thing was the food. We ordered cucumber roll and tuna roll. There’s only cucumber peels inside the cucumber roll. I can’t believe that. And there’s a big fish bone in the tuna roll. I almost got hurt. So awful. I feel terrible and angry. There’s no worth to try.

The food was served fresh and was pretty good. We had ginger beef, edamame, mixed tempura, chicken skewers, gyoza, and a few different maki rolls with sake to drink. The food was prepared fresh and the ginger beef was great, the only thing I'd change about it is a little less sauce so it didn't pool at the bottom of the dish when you were getting to the end. The service was quite good. They refilled our drinks promptly, were pleasant to deal with, and even advised us that we might have ordered too much food even though it meant a bigger bill. I would recommend trying this place out.

The Monkey Tree single handedly showcasing how far they've fallen in the past 3 years. That's what happened tonight. Once in a blue moon I like coming here with friends to drink, dance, and generally try to have a good time. The servers and bartenders? Amazing. They always are. The bouncers? Barely legal and incompetent. Tonight I witnessed 2-3 bouncers hound the smoke pass gentleman/bouncer for giving out 1 ticket for more than 2 guests. usually? It's not a problem. I have no problem lining up outside again, if the service is right. All of these bouncers are new. If you're gonna enforce a policy on customers then train your employees to follow that policy, instead of swearing/cussing out innocent paying customers into leaving. It wasn't just me, it was groups of people given one or two tickets to smoke and then being sent away by the 2 bouncers harassing the initial, clearly undertrained bouncer. Absolutely pathetic service, and I won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, 3 of our 5 items we ordered they got wrong, but since there was no sit down options to eat at, we didn't know until we walked back to our place about 15 minutes away. Two were not the wraps we ordered and the third was a different donut than what we ordered which I suppose we could have seen that before we left and corrected them, but the wraps are not possible to tell until you bite into them. Not much we could do about it at that point.

After waiting for 15 min for a mobile order and listening to screaming and slurs finally got the order that was already made and under the counter. The Timbits where stale and rock solid as well the Jelly had turned black from sitting in the glass case for who knows how long just disgusted by this tims. But at least the staff was smiling.

Last week I ordered two bacon and egg english muffins and it cost me just over $10. Today, I ordered one bacon and egg english muffin and it cost me $8.69. Not sure what is going on at this location but it will be the last time I ever buy from them. There is no rhyme or reasoning to their pricing. Unreal. And the manager argues with you justifying charging almost $10 for one small English muffin which he said was special. It wasn't. It was one little english muffin, and egg and one tiny piece of bacon. He tried to tell me it was a bagel and when I said I did not order a bagel he changed his tune. Unreal.

Quick coffee and breakfast grab-and-go. No dine-in area and perhaps located in a little sketchy mall but coffee is hot and food is ok. Parking on street or the mall parkade for a speedy pick up. No bathroom is associated so you may need to find and use the one in the mall.

Purchase a medium coffee this morning just 3/4 cup. I wonder why we have to paid a full price? Service and staff is not consistence, no smile or greeting this morning.

Food is amazing. There is nothing that I wouldn't have again. The Seasonal berry salad is my favorite. The tacos and Mac and Cheese are so good too. They have a large variety of drink selections and the Monte Cristo is a must as an after dinner drink.

The food was absolutely phenomenal, I got the Atlantic Salmon and best food I’ve ever had! The service was also very good and totally recommend going for special occasions like we did for our one year anniversary. The atmosphere was very good and it wasn’t too loud which was nice and it was a nice temperature inside as well!

Food and service are so worth coming here. Onion soup one of the best I've ever had. Mushroom ravioli perfect. The decor is quite plain. The lounge is awesome. Lots of sports on the many TVs.

Thank God for this restaurant as it was hard to walk anywhere to eat in this cold weather. Came to this restaurant for lunch and dinner and was surprised by the quality of food. Steak salad, garlic shrimp, and bison wasn't great but everything else we tried was good-fish and chips, burgers, soup. Soup of the day is different daily, price is fair. Restaurant was quite dark. Always had a spot to eat though which was helpful after day tours.

Flight home got canceled so ended up spending an extra night at Chateau Nova. We were hungry, tired, and cold. Stopped here for a meal as there wasn't any other options. We probably should have gotten out some warmer clothes and gone somewhere else. Service staff was good overall. They tried and were working together to make the best of it. Food was a disappointment. My wife's burger did not match the description in the menu. My soup was cold. I asked for it to be warmed up in the microwave. Took about 10 minutes to get my soup back and I think that the cooks simply let it sit under the heat lamp. When I got it back, plate was hotter than the soup. I ate it anyways as I was hungry and my wife had finished eating.

The decor is worn out and a bit dreary. One of our wine glasses had lipstick stain on it from a previous customer. My partner ordered a steak medium rare and it came very well done. They did correct the order but it meant that by the time he got his meal, the rest of the group was already done their meal. We ordered a 12 ounce steak but it was definitely not that. 8 ounces perhaps. I got a veggie burger and it was nothing special. It had a low quality soy-based burger instead of one of the better quality brands (like “beyond meat” burgers). For dessert, there was no vanilla ice cream left to go with the dish so our only other options were strawberry or chocolate. The ice cream was also low quality. It clearly came out of a large vat. I would have expected that kind of ice cream for a kids menu but not for the adult menu desserts. There was clearly nothing inspired about the meals. The one nice thing about our experience was our server. The place looked short staffed and she was clearly hustling for her tables. She did the best she could and was very pleasant. Overall it was a mediocre experience and in hindsight, I wouldn’t have brought our guests there for a nice dinner. Not going back.

One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve ever had. A group of 6 of us went out for a late dinner. At first we were told that the kitchen wasn’t open (this was at 9pm, restaurant closes at 10pm). Then they said if we ordered quickly we could still get food. Great, we thought. We ordered a combination of appetizers and mains and asked for all food to come out together to help make it easier. It did not arrive at the same time, in fact one meal arrived over 25 minutes after the majority of the food had come. When the person asked for it to be cancelled since it wasn’t out yet, it was brought out right away. She asked for a discount due to the wait and the inconvenience, but that request was ignored. Some of the food was decent. The drinks were great, although they were not strong. The ceviche and mushroom risotto was quite good. One friend ordered a quinoa salad, it was a tiny serving (less than a starter size) and looked like mush thrown onto a plate. One friend was served chowder which she had to eat with a fork until a server came by and we could ask for a spoon. The chowder was ok, a bit bland but not the worst. The other salads that were ordered were large and very good. The Arctic char fish that was the last dish to be delivered was terrible. The servers were trying but it was very disorganized. Despite clearly explaining how we wanted the bill to be divided when we ordered it became very confusing for them to split so we just put it all on one bill and paid together. Overall I would not come to this restaurant again.

I just ordered the Chicken Mafalda from Copperhouse today and WOW — it was absolutely delicious! Having worked here before, I can confidently say Chef Fabrizio has taken the new menu to the next level. Honestly, this might be the best menu Copperhouse has ever had. I was there yesterday as well with my friends — we ordered mussels, cheese pizza, wild mushroom risotto, Alfredo chicken mafalda, and the smoked Hawaiian Huli-Huli chicken. Every single dish was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. Truly impressive! Even though the restaurant was busy, our server Krisha T took amazing care of us. She kept checking in, making sure we had everything we needed — her service was warm and attentive. Big shoutout to Tim for consistently making the best steaks and pastas in town, and to John — hands down the best bartender ! Also, a heartfelt thank you to Grandpa in the back — your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed. And finally, a huge thank you to owners Mark and Paul for building such a beautiful and welcoming restaurant here in Yellowknife. Copperhouse isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a full experience. Highly recommend everyone to try the new menu!

Okay, honest review. I tried making a reservation. The automated system when I phoned led to an answering machine. Shortly after, I received a text asking for details abt the reservation. I sent it off hoping for the best. I received another text from a different number saying "Unfortunately, we close our reservations for tonight. we recommend you make your reservation in advance. And you are welcome as a walk-in." It was a Sunday evening and we took our chances as a walk-in, but I was skeptical to go because of the text message. Who wants to drive across town with an infant only to be turned away?! That being said, we took our chances at 7:30 pm and there were lots of tables open and 3 tables filled. We were celebrating a birthday, so we were lucky we took the chance. Our server was super friendly and professional, and patient with our little one. He even grabbed us a high chair. The staff also made a special birthday cocktail which was nice. The food was top notch. I enjoyed the steak, while my wife enjoyed the pizza. (Our little one also enjoyed the pizza and sweet potato fries with balsamic glaze!). The atmosphere was perfect for a birthday, and the food matched the scene. If I had anything negative to say, it would be that the pricing was a little steep. I understand inflation, and I do work in the food industry, but with tip for Steak, Pizza, Fries, and one cocktail came to $127. It's a birthday and I could justify it, but it wouldn't be my first choice compared to other restaurants in Yellowknife based on price and quality. Overall a positive experience! Good food, good atmosphere. Tables aren’t too crowded. Our server was great and friendly; attentive, but not too much. Food was pretty good quality. Overall a good meal and experience. Would definitely recommend

1. Atmosphere: nice interior 2. Food: I asked to serve an appetizer, a pizza and a white fish all at once. Fish and pizza were not as hot as the appetizer (coliflower). Probably because they were cooked and waited until coliflower is ready..? 3. Service: I fell down right in front of the restaurant because of the thin ice. I told one of the server that I fell down and suggested to spray the salt. I was expecting him to say, "are you okay""we will spray the salt", he said, "no, it's too soon". Too soon for what? Then he finally went out to spray the salt or whatever only after he saw another customer, who came in after me, nearly fell down on the slippery ground.

In Yellowknife and looking for a classy atmosphere with good food? Copperhouse is your place! Very friendly staff, food is excellent and they offer some local choices (Bison etc). Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the fully loaded pizza, would never have done shrimp on my pizza but wow it was great. The location is best as a pick up location but the food is good.

So the wings and fries were pretty awesome and the staff was super nice. I would give the wings and spicy fries 4/5 out of 5. However the coconut shrimp was definitely horrible and deserves a negative review. The coconut shrimp is not actually shrimp. They are lying to customers. It is fish disguised to look like shrimp. In my photos I tried to remove the batter as best I could to show it’s fish under not shrimp. There is absolutely no shrimp in the coconut shrimp. They didn’t even mix the shrimp with flour or fish to make it partially true. Instead they shaped fish like a butter shrimp would shape and selling it for a lot of money. I feel completely ripped off and unfortunately no matter how much I enjoyed their wings. I will not be banning them for life.

Great if you love trying local pizzas and don’t want to eat at the national chain pizzas. Will make the pizza as you ask and tastes great!

Amazing double bacon cheeseburger! Fries could have been a bit more crispy, but the amount of fries was enough for two people. Friendly staff. The baked poutine was very good, also. Definitely recommend!

The Chinese food here is superb, with deliciously dishes like chicken fried rice, beef chop suey and deep fried shrimp. The service is excellent, especially thanks to Julia, whose friendly and attentive manner enhances the dining experience. Highly recommended for both food and service!

Busy place with Chinese food. You know what's best for this place? It opens 7 days a week and will not randomly close. Food portion is very large compared to other restaurants in town. After a long day driving, this is the place to go.

We ordered a couple of burger combos, it took 40 minutes to be ready. I had wanted a donair initially, but for some reason they didn’t have it available. The burgers were really dry, tastes a bit frost-bitten.

Not a ton of options in Inuvik and was looking for a quick place to eat after biking up from Dawson City. This place was perfect. Busy but the service was quick. Staff were friendly. Food (I had the loaded sub) was good. It’s a little expensive for what it is but you’re kind of in the middle of nowhere so it makes sense.

Honestly, it was a great surprise to find this place in Inuvik as we arrived after all the other restaurants were closed or closing. The service was top-notch and the food even better. Every dish we were served bypassed every expectation we had of it. We loved the salt and pepper chicken wings, the beef chop suey, ooh and the ginger beef - so good! The poutine - yes, please! If you've never had fried rice then try it here. Those who like an Italian treat, chicken lasagna will hit the spot. Ok now let's just say that Nadir and Wanjiku helped with our order and made it so that we got what we craved. Keep it up!

Try the local white fish - the chef did an awesome job - not over cooked and a decent portion. You won't go wrong eating here. Service was perfect.

Hay River's fine dining restaurant. Menu is varied with plenty of great food from which to choose; appetizers, lunch menu and entrees. A great beverage selection and excellent service. Beautiful decor complete with comfortable table and booth seating will set the right mood for an intimate meal out or a business meeting. The Keys Dining Lounge is located right in the Ptarmigan Inn main lobby in the heart of Hay River's downtown core.

First time having breakfast here and ordered what is usually a very safe choice; an omelet with onions, peppers, mushrooms and cheese (to go). Sadly, it was the worst omelets I have ever tasted. Pretty sure there was more onions than eggs used to make it and absolutely no salt or pepper. Also, the onions were in huge soggy pieces like what you would use to make onion rings. The cheddar cheese doesn’t even have any flavour. Extremely bland and awful texture for an omelet. Has to be one of the first times in my life that I couldn’t take a second bite of an omelet. $20 down the drain. Also, I just remembered it was $3 extra for spoonful of “real cheddar”. Shameful If they can’t even figure out breakfast I certainly won’t be back for lunch or dinner.

Ordered the firecracker penne and kids chicken fingers. Was an online order and was given a time frame to pick it up, went there early and waited 10 minutes before someone from the back told me to get my food from the front desk at the hotel. Food was cold, firecracker penne was so spicy I couldn't eat it and I love spicy food. Chicken tenders wasn't a meal like I thought it was, just 3 tenders no fries or dip either. Won't be ordering again.

These guys make the best pizza in Canada; you might not believe this because it's located in a remote place. Just take a trip down here, try their chicken pizza or veggie pizza, and you won't regret the amount you spent for air fare. Moreover, Fort Smith is a beautiful tourist locality, flanked by Slave River on the west and Buffalo National Park on the east. Bon voyage!

I travelled to Fort Smith for work in August of 2023 and I was incredibly disappointed in the service and food at Berro's Pizzeria. I travelled across Canada for work and I have never in all my years have I ever had such an awful experience at at small town eatery. First my garden salad was served to me with several pieces of plastic in it. When I let the staff know there was no apologies made or an offer to compromise my salad. Then my baked lasagna came and it was undercooked and the sauce was like water, basically it was soup and disgusting. My coworkers decided to order and split a pizza that had raw dough. The owner would not offer to refund our meals, instead he proceeded to argue with us about the temperature of the food which was not even the issue. To top it all off my co-worker got the worst case of diarrhea in his whole life. I strongly recommend you do not eat here if you are in Fort Smith.

Went for wings night, and they changed the wings. I had the scorching hot, and they were really good. Our table shared appetizers, so we had a little of a lot, and it was all good. If you are visiting Hay River, stop in and check out the Back Eddy.

$37 for 2 desserts and a drink. Definitely not going back. Added photos of the menu and then was told the price increase was because of inflation. Very sad

Waited for our drinks for 20 minutes and our order for an hour. Ended up getting our order to go since we waited so long. Get to our room only to see the ribs that we waited an hour for are coated in a cheap ketchup bbq sauce. What a waste of time and money. Never again 🤦‍♀️ If I could I would rate this 0 stars. Lol.

The Back Eddy is a local favourite eating and entertainment spot. Menu has everything from appetizers to fine dining options. Great salads, wraps and burgers but the house specialty is the fish & chips! Fresh Great Slave Lake whitefish lightly battered and fried to perfection with fries, you can substitute a salad if you wish. The nautical themed dining room is the perfect location for lunch, a romantic evening out or for large groups. The Back Eddy has a family dinning area separate from the licensed section of the restaurant. Make sure to check out the live entertainment when available!

We ordered baby back ribs, fish and chips, the 8 oz steak, and a wasabi salmon. There were mozza sticks too except it ended up going to the WRONG table somehow that we cancelled. The price is about 30 dollar range for each dish minus the entree that we had to remove after waiting an actual HOUR for everything. Came to NT to sightsee from Edmonton but this restaurant has been the MOST disappointing experience dining-wise this whole trip so far. Asked multiple times on the status of the food and finally got a time around 50 minutes after we sat in and ordered, when other patrons that came in around the same time (5:22 pm) have already finished eating and left. When the food came the steak that we ordered medium well was well done to the point of dry. Salmon was drier than the sahara desert and I could do it better with store bought fish and a microwave. Only normal items were the ribs and fried fish, but the fries portion that came with the fish and chips were 1/2 the size of the other fries. The fried fish was also small, smaller than the size of 2 filet o fish patties. If I wasn't starving like a stranded refugee on a deserted island I would've walked out before the food arrived but my family members convinced me not to. Not coming back and I feel like the 3.9 stars are fake. Food bad or terribly mediocre and overpriced for the quality and quantity, and service was just as lacklustre. Big guy in the plaid shirt did well for his customers, but the waitresses seem like new hires with no prior experience.

Had a spicy burger which was typical pub food, but the stand out was the real hamburger patty, not food service food which was nice. Had onion rings which were just barely cooked which was too bad because there had that really good breading, just needed another two minutes in the deep fryer Considering we walked in with 8 people in our party at lunch, I was impressed how quickly things came out. The bathrooms have been recently renovated are palatial, unlike the bar proper which has a 1980's nautical theme. Overall good food, great service.

My burger was tasty and well presented. My wife's was a complete disappointment. The fries that accompanied both were inedible. Our son had a kids meal, then came home and ate again. All around disappointing meal. The decor was pleasant, parking readily available. Staff was super friendly and not overly attentive like some places. I doubt we will clamor to return here to eat, but choices are limited, so we will likely try it here again.

What an amazing hidden gem in Yellowknife! As a first-gen Korean who lived in Toronto for years, I honestly didn’t expect to find such authentic Korean flavors this far north. The owners are first-gen Koreans who moved here from Toronto and put so much heart into every dish. The kimchi jjigae tastes just like home, the bulgogi is tender and perfectly seasoned, and the banchan are fresh and generous. You can really feel the pride and warmth in their cooking and hospitality. So happy Yellowknife has this place! Highly recommend to anyone craving real Korean home cooking. 🇰🇷❤️

Wow I was not expecting to find such good Korean food on our visit to Yellowknife. I got the soft tofu stew, which is the perfect warm, hearty bowl of food needed on this cold winter day. I’m probably coming back tomorrow lol

I've never seen this kinda service. The way of their talking was extremely rude and they didn't welcome customers. My friends and I were waiting to order at the front but their staff was like "Sit down there". Then she tried to keep talking in Korean unpleasantly even all of my friends were not korean and told us pay for tips when we were about to pay. I visited here in the past. Hope their service has improved.

Really love this place. The two korean moms are really friendly but I get why some whose not used to asian parents might find them snobbish. Food taste authentic as someone who has gone to Korea. They serve really fast as well.

The food here is surprisingly good. I had the pork bibimbap and the meat was very good. The other toppings and the rice were well-done as well. The service was fast and workers were very friendly. The only thing I didn’t like about the atmosphere was that I was the only one there. I’ve also never been to Yellowknife before so I don’t know what food prices are like here but I felt like this meal was quite expensive. However, with the big portion and excellent taste, I’d definitely recommend Korea House.

Each meal was $20. We ordered the bulgogi and soft tofu stew (spicy). Both tasted authentic and delicious. We paid at the front and picked up. We weren’t expected to tip, the staff member bypassed that when she gave me the terminal. We observed a lot of locals and tourists came by. Overall good experience.

We really enjoyed our hot pots - a lot of flavour and fresh ingredients you cook yourself. I had the plain broth and took advantage of the spice bar. My partner's super spicy broth required none of that as it was potent enough to make both of us sweat. Overall a really fun experience I look forward to repeating!

Very friendly and tasty family-owned hot pot restaurant. At first I was suspicious because the review was not as good (for some reason only three stars), but I was glad that I gave it a try! I would recommend to order the spicy soup base with spice aside so you can choose how spicy you would like it to go. The fried white fish is a must try! Some people complaint that they cannot speak English, but their menu is in English and it’s very clear how to order! Their iPad menu is very user-friendly. As long as you have experience making online order, it’s the same - click the item you want and it goes to the shopping cart and show you the total of money you order. Most importantly, I lost my phone there with all of my cards and driver license inside, the owners helped me find it and were very understanding how panicky I was. Sincerely recommended!

An unique Chinese hotpot restaurant. You have to use their Samsung pad to order your food. It has a broth corner for different spicy sauces. The food is ok, but it's price is a bit high. In a cold town like Yellowknife, you don't have much choice. Unfortunately, they don't have a liquor license, it's sort of discourage to go to this hotpot restaurant. Don't you agree?

A unique outing for Yellowknife. Good experience to enjoy a long meal and actually have a conversation with whoever you go with. Recommend adding some garlic and cilantro to your broth for extra flavour.

This was better than expected. The food was super fresh and the broth, boiling hot. The broth was plain but for good reason. The sauce bar, filled with what seemed like 20-30 different sauces and accoutrements, allows you to experience a different flavour soup each time you fill your little eating bowl if you so desire. This would be a great place to go in the dead of winter to warm up. I just wish they had a liquor licence.

Food is ordered from the restaurant across the street and sold here. I got the mango chicken and it was room temperature and took 50 minutes. It is meant to be a hot dish. The place smelled of old beer and the pool table is warped. At least service was ok. They had the audacity to ask if I wanted another beer when my food was cold.

Not a good place for a beer.. barman unpolite and no options for a beer.. very expensive and bad beer.. never more.. And it has nothing irish bar..

A really great place to hunker down and get to the bottom of a whiskey glass. The atmosphere is casual, friendly and comfortable. The music is good and the the conversations lively.

Good service and friendly staff. This a bar, not pub. As far as I'm aware they do not serve food, though they tried at one point using the restaurant upstairs' kitchen to fulfill their orders.

My Spouse and I walked in, walked in the establishment, Walked the table across the Bar, And about a minute half walking in, we we’re promptly lead out the bar without cause, in which we know they can do, but the off duty barman had kicked us out immediately, and then the active barmaid had done so as well, but i felt very uncomfortable the manner in which they did, We had not started drinking nor had we done anything to impair our ability to think it through, but the thing that had gotten to me most is he had made a “Ahahm” noise as he had closed the door on us, this was the manager mind you. I just hate the fact we we’re banned so publicly and so, Especially without cause or causing any disruptive behaviours, to me that’s my first interaction of this sorts, especially my first interaction with a Yellowknife Bar ‘er.

Went for dinner after a multi day trip into Nahanni National Park Reserve. Many locals highly recommended the big burger and fries, but we didn’t try it ourselves. The onion rings were great, and we also liked the sweet and sour chicken and the beef and broccoli!

A nice warm meal up in the Artic, no complaints. Very clean washroom , polite service .

My first time here recently and now it’s my favourite place for Chinese food. Wish they were in Yellowknife. Loved the egg roll which looked unlike any egg roll I had ever had but was delicious. Vegetable chow mein, fried rice, and lemon chicken were all delicious! Portions were huge and prices were reasonable for the north especially considering the portions (2-3 meals per plate in my opinion). The only downside I experienced was the lack of Coca Cola products. But that is a northern problem. The service was also great. Strong recommend!

This is a great spot for a coffee or for a dinner. We had 7 people served quickly and the food was pretty good. Chinese was our choice, although they have many western food options. Spiciness was toward the safe white person side. Lemon chicken, shrimp balls, tons of noodle dishes, and all of the other fair you would expect from a Chinese small town restaurant, but with incredible serving speed.

It was as close to the Mackenzie Hotel as can be. The chicken fried rice could use some veggies. The ginger beef was very good. Wish I could have tried more. I heard good things about the salt and pepper squid and the wings.

The portions of food were tiny. The picture with the fork are all the bones and fat that were in the lamb curry. The chicken was dry and over cooked. The rice was overcooked and tasteless. The butter chicken wasn't too bad except there wasn't much chicken. The samosa were identical to the ones that you can buy in the supermarket and they didn't give us the sauce for the samosas Total bill $70.00. Luckily we had our own Naan bread that we filled up on because this is an absolute joke

A medium pizza plus 3 cans of pop $35 bucks....I know it's not cheap in YK but this business has everything to make a great pizza and it fails. The dough is thin, and undercooked, that glues to the box, no flavor from cheese or sauce or veggies. Sausage is hot dog meat...I wanted to support local, unfortunately, I won't be coming back to this pizza shop, and no, I do not recommend it.

I got the chicken tikka, samsoas, garlic bread, and kebab pizza. The chicken tikka tasted like somebody had smoked it in hookah. It was absolutely awful. Couldn't eat more than a few bites. The kebab pizza was plain and boring. I don't think there was any seasoning. Awful as well. The samosas tasted similar to pumpkin pie or a clove flavour. The garlic bread was good, but it's garlic and bread. Absolutely not worth the price. If you want pizza order dominos. If you want indian - stay away from this place.

Best pizza I’ve ever had. No cheese to mask flavours but good stone baked pizza. The owner served us and treated us like guests. Very friendly and kind gentleman. The food was beyond delicious, great quality and timely. We are going’s to be in YK for three more days and we will definitely stop by again before we leave, hopefully three more times!

First and last time. Walked in, one person working making pizza, felt uncomfortable, rushed, person said be right with you. Another staff member walked in off the street, took my order straight away but did not wash her hands, lucky she put plastic gloves on, very flustered looking for sauces, running to backroom for supplies, person was certainly not in order to be serving anything just yet at 11:46am. Ordered 1 small and 1 large donair and got a meat lovers pizza slice to go. Pizza was not good, crust was very chewy, pizza sauce was o.k. I guess, something on the pizza taste off. Had a hard time watching the person making donair's, sandwich board was old, outdated, very hard to see the toppings, no mention of additional toppings like cheese I saw after the fact, cheap. Large donair was $12.40=tax, small was $8.88, EXPENSIVE for what you receive! Pizza slice was way over priced for the size of slice and the amount of toppings. I will not be going back here anytime soon, so I hope you take my advice on this one. This place that just opened a couple of years ago needs an upgrade and not just the equipment either, some help would be where I would start at.

I don’t normally give reviews on bad food because no one is prefect and sometimes mistakes happen but this meal push me to the limit first problem was the packaging of the food the condiments was all over my meat and veg and some stuck to the top of the foam box as you can see in picture next time plz to add condiments on the side in a separate container...My lady doesn’t eat beef I order 2 chicken samosas 2 beef samosas and 2 vegetable samosas they were place in three separate bags which great but there wasn’t anything on the bag to identify the beef from the chicken or vegetable samosas so I had to be bitting through them to tell which is which come on now have to do better than that........taste of the food I’ll give it a 6.5 out of 10 which work down to a 2star from me for $54.00 have to do better

Horrible business. The good is okay. Watching the staff argue and the manager repeatedly asking what everyone ordered is a sign the business doesn't run properly. For a place that seems to be ready to serve lunch they we're not. I'll gravitate to other businesses rather than sit in that awkward restaurant. No music. Poor design. Uncertainty of when the food would be ready. I asked for takeout. It shouldn't have been that confusing. On the plus side the butter chicken was hot and fairly tasty. Wish there was on option to make it spicy.

Stayed here with 2 colleagues for work. This place is in a state of disrepair. The walls are paper thin. The carpet looks like it has never been cleaned. The water pools in the tub. The plug outlet in the bathroom doesn’t work for more than a few minutes and says “razor only”. The bedsheets had stains. One of the rooms had a potent odour. Didn’t know if it was mold. Given the state of the hotel I wouldn’t be surprised. One of the rooms wasn’t ready at 5:30. Then they said they only needed 15 minutes to clean the room. We left and came back around 8pm and they gave us a different room that didn’t even open. It was beside a room that had a door open and could not be closed. The walls are paper thin and the bed is uncomfortable. Did not have a restful sleep as the light was coming in from outside. One mirror in the entire room, in the bathroom. This place is a 1 star motel. One of the colleagues who travelled with me says it is worse than Northern Lites in Yellowknife. The only good thing about this place is the location.

Worst hotel I’ve stayed in by far! 1st night was in the Nahanni Inn, the sheets were full of hair and dirt. The carpets were dirty, like they were never cleaned. Hair and used bar soap in the tub. 2nd night started in room 10 at the Morada, there was 5 wasps in the room, window was smashed, ants in the corners of the room, food on the floors, carpets were disgusting. We were then put in room 17. We were supposed to leave today however my baby is facing seizure activity so we are forced to stay another night and other hotels are booked so we asked for another room. We were placed back in room 17. It’s 5:00 the room was not cleaned so we asked to have it cleaned after checking out at 9:00 this morning. They didn’t change the sheets. Did a quick clean of the bathroom and the floors threw the bed together and moved on. The staff all seen very unhappy and unfriendly and disrespectful. I will not be returning. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

Just okay the staff was nice the cook makes a decent breakfast. Only place to stay in town, the pillow covers smelt odd and I don’t think the rooms get cleaned enough. Also someone was doing Reno’s at 10PM? All I heard was driver impacts and drywall screws going through something not sure the logic in that. I guess this is the standard for staying somewhere so remote.

Went here for breakfast one morning and to enjoy the lounge one evening. Staff were friendly, pool table was free at the moment. Breakfast was great - a real local spot for food. Lost a star more because you've got to come here with small town expectations than anything else. Food was great, not world class though, decor is in need of a renovation.

They should look into getting better tv service, soo much static, never got to watch any programs or movie in the evening.. and also a small coffee pot with coffee tea available to make in the room. Check to make sure everything in the room is in working order upon checking in, and ask if we need a radio extra condiments. I saying that cause I have a disability and can't go anywhere unless someone is with me. But I manages. So just keep that in mind, when a customer checks in. That's it ty

Review is for the restaurant: Will upgrade my review when they make home made patties and fries again! Currently 3 stars. Buffet Friday roast beef is usually pretty great though.

First night in the NWT so I had a bit of an embarrassing panic when I got quoted a very Northern price - the receptionist was really nice about this (offering to call the other places in town for their rates!!). Of course the room ended up being nothing but clean and comfortable, and service was excellent. It's expensive compared to Alaska Highway motels, but, you know, this isn't the Alaska Highway.

What a joke of a place this has become.... I went with the best intentions for my girlfriend's birthday to get us wings and as least hers got sauce like it was supposed to.... I call and ask the lady if there is a reason they didn't put barely any on mine and my gfs has lots and they said well we put one scoop on each.... This is beyond a joke. I'll have to scrape my girlfriend's sauce after she's done eating. Won't ever order again from here ever! Waste of time and money. Don't bother.

The up charges this location uses since it is Yellowknife make a place you cannot afford regularly. Two regular size pizzas over $50.00. Staff are great. Low rating on Atmosphere due to it being a pick up only location.

Pizza was okay. Staff rip you off. Save your money, go elsewhere. Unfortunately for pizza hut, the sour taste left after this visit will affect all future visits to any location for myself.

We don’t get out for dinner often but it was a joy to do so tonight. Brandon, Anna and the whole family work hard to make it a great place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. Tonight we had the prime rib sandwich with “Supa Zuppa” and a personal Canadian pizza with pineapple. All three were amazing. I recommend them and The food here just keeps getting better!

Food is horribly overpriced, and the quantity doesn't justify the prices. Absolutely outrageous. Food took over 40 minutes to come out, and was the serving size for a toddler.

We ordered BJ's double cheeseburgers and smashed potatoes. The restaurant staff were friendly and the food was amazing.

We were looking for a local place to have lunch and decided to go to this place. It was the perfect choice. From the outside it looked a very homely restaurant and we were welcomed equally warmly by the gracious hosts. The service ladies were extremely friendly and answered all our queries with a big smile. We ordered quesadillas. The food was fresh, crispy and delicious. To be honest this was one the best quesadillas I have had in a long long time. I think we spoke to Anna before we left and she was equally friendly. This place also has spa services if you are interested. I would highly recommend this place if you are in town.

This place was recommended to me by a local and it did not disappoint. It's hard to find anything close to a home cooked meal on the road, but Anna and team delivered! I highly recommend the beef stew, and I don't even like stew. The cheeseburger and smashed potatoes were very tasty. Everything was fresh and flavourful. And the coffee, you have to get a coffee there! Service was warm and friendly plus the prices were quite reasonable. A+

Okay. You must come here. We have to keep them open and successful. Their food is amazing. Everything is simply incredible. Wow. Try the butter chicken platter. Try the samosa topped with various sauces and vegetables. Try everything. So good. Must come back. Update: chicken is so tender and moist, which is hard to do in a thick sauce. It is cooked perfectly. The tamarind sauce for the samosas is so thick and flavour is so strong it’s amazing— most places water the sauces down to stretch them out, but not Bluebell. Here everything tastes fresh and the flavours punch your mouth in an incredible way. I still highly recommend this place when you are in Yellowknife. It is hidden on the second floor of a building with a small wooden door leading to the stairs. Do yourself a favour and find it. Go up those stairs and treat yourself to flavour bombs where everything is magnificent.

This is a comfortable place in Yellowknife. During our 3 days stay in the town, we visited this restaurant every day😋 Every food tastes good, and especially we loved Fish Fritters(fish was really tender and delicious), Indo-Chinese Fried Rice(we felt a bit chili-hotter than other dishes) and Falooda(good taste with rose flavor). The gravy of Chicken Changezi is also tasty with creamy and deep flavor. The drink menu is nice too.

Big problem of this restaurant is the door entrance of building to second floor was too tight and hard to open it. (I’d seen their ‘OPEN’ sign but it would feel closed. I’d ordered lamb curry meal at lunch, it was good and cocktail was good too. Friendly server and atmosphere was pretty good for travellers want a meal at the downtown Yellowknife.

Bluebell Eatery has the best Indian cuisine and one of the best menus in all of Yellowknife! They have put serious effort into creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in their restaurant and they have made this space vibrant again. The owners and management are always looking for ways to improve their offerings and even host special events/theme nights at their establishment. Bluebell is no longer a hidden gem and the word is out, so do yourself a favour and try it for yourself! 😌

Delicious and reasonably priced food. The butter chicken platter was delicious. It was kind of odd that the salad didn’t come with dressing though.

The hotel has gone downhill and we won't be staying there again. The hotel is very dated and needs extensive renovations. The kitchenette we stayed in looked like it was last updated in 70s and the appliances were nearly worn out. The AC barely worked and our room was very warm. The mattresses are well worn and provide little support or comfort. Then there were the issues with housekeeping, they didn't even do the bare minimum. I asked the house cleaner one day to vacuum the room and I was told that is not on her list. My daughters stayed in another room and had similar issues. I would not recommend staying here.

Room were tiny bathroom door barely opened and closed the phone wasn't even plugged in and the lines where dead and the beds don't even get me started on the beds... the food was pretty good the only reason it gets 3 stars i was gonna get 2 stars but the fish said otherwise

Paying for my pickup order, took the two guys forever to get off the office chair and get payment. As he was walking away, he said what sounded like my name and a few words in his native tongue which the other guy got a chuckle out of....upon his return i asked what the joke was and he said he was talking about "sam" which i didnt hear in his sentence, the entire time he had a massive grin on his face.....now, he may have been talking about me or he may have been talking about something else. Thing is, his buddy got a chuckle then instead of seeming concerned with my inquiry, he started grinning. Last i checked, english and french were our only two national languages. That being said, it could have been alot more clear if he had stuck to speaking english instead of switching to a language i clearly wouldn't understand. Professionalism lacking

We had breakfast there and were very impressed with the service and the food - our coffee cups were never empty, the hashbrowns were perfect, our over easy eggs were as they should be, and the French toast was thick slices with fresh berries. We weren't staying at the hotel but their restaurant hours were nice with such limited food options in Hay River!

It's a 1 star restaurant. UPDATE...wings are good but just went for breakfast and they serve me hash browns that are black but still hard then grab me a seniors discount off the meal. Should have at least taken 5 bucks off. Only worth going to on wing night Wednesday.

I had hope but I’m very disappointed. I ordered take out and they never called me when it was ready. I wandered down two hours later to see it there cold and soggy. They offered no compensation. Once I got it back and ate whatever was good, I noticed that they don’t clean their shrimp and instantly lost my appetite.

We did dinner here the night we arrived in Fort Smith. It may have been the only place open in town. We ordered from the Chinese menu. The pork dumplings and chicken curry were very tasty. The Singapore noodles not so much - a bit flavourless.

Wrong order came to my table I told them that it wasn't what I ordered and they said sorry and just walked away and and left me with the wrong order to eat. She came back with a drink so I brought it up again she said it should be the same price and walked away again. Very appalled with the overall service and experience.

Best Chinese food in town

Ohhhh, don't go there! They served French fries with long black hair! Yucky! A quick look into their Kitchen and I could see they didn't follow Basic Food Safety, ie. No hair nets, no gloved hands, etc They were overwhelmed and short staffed during our Event. Seemed like nice people, just not Food Safety People.

Such an incredible restaurant! I had the sauteed goat today and the meat was really tender. The blend of spices was phenomenal. Also, I think the rice was cooked in some kind of broth that made it taste delicious. The homemade hot sauce was the star of the meal. The owner told me she makes it fresh every morning. I highly suggest this restaurant!

Ordered the injera chicken for dinner. Love the chicken and the hot sauce. Injera was a bit dry for me. Restaurant has a nice ambient. You would not realized that it is in the basement with no windows. Very kid friendly. Saw many coloring pages on the wall. Will definitely visit again when I am in Yellowknife.

There are a lot of options for excellent cuisine in Yellowknife, and Savannah's easily rises to the top of the pack. Each of the dishes our table tried were spectacular. Seriously try any of their Entrees and you won't be disappointed. Above all this though was the service. Full of cheer and radiating positivity. Made for a lovely dining experience

What a hidden gem this place is. Savannah is such a fantastic host. Very attentive to detail and super warm and friendly. Makes you feel like you’re at her home rather than a restaurant. The food is just bursting with flavour and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend stopping by for a wonderful meal served up by some lovely people.

I was reluctant to try this restaurant because it seemed to lack vegetarian options. I did try their main veggie option and it was delicious! The food was so flavorful and the portion was enough to make you comfortably full... I kept making sounds of enjoyment as I ate.. go there and support the local business ☺️

There was only one person working there, first he told me to sit down because he had to clean the counter. When I returned twenty minutes later he flat out refused to take my order, saying he had too many orders on the go. We watched him do it to several other people as well.

Black angus steak sandwich was delicious. Store was clean and service was quick. Bread was fresh!

Quiznos is good when the service is good, the place is clean and you feel welcomed but This place is going down hill. The store is always dirty when we come here, and they take forever to help you. My family used to like coming to Quiznos but there needs to be some serious changes.

Went for lunch with my family, and the line to order seemed a little awkward to order, but we got our orders. The cleanliness of the place wasn't the greatest. Our table was very dirty, you could tell it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. The restaurant itself didn't seem to clean either. I've been here before, and I enjoyed it then, I figured it would be a nice stop for lunch, but it wasn't the greatest. The food was good. Salad lettuce tasted a bit old. I doubt I'll return.

Coming from Vancouver Island where they closed down 90% of the Quiznos and all of them in my town. I was thrilled there is one here in YK. Also it is just like I remember . We go here occasionally for a nice lunch. The food is great, the staff are friendly. The dining area is a but rough and dated but as long as there's a clean table to eat at I can't really complain.

In my home town, quiznos closed. So I am happy there is one here. Never had a bad sandwich here, also soup and chili is yummy. The weekend guy is so nice, as we get a sandwich usually on the weekend and he makes a delish sub!!

Absolutely a hidden gem! We had authentic Philippine food there. I ordered milkfish with Java rice and also tried my friends’ pork, chicken, and soup dishes. We even went there twice! The chef’s wife was very kind, and her service was excellent. It’s such a pity they are closing soon—only until this Friday.

Filipino and Western cuisine. Sports bar feel, with TVs, pool table, and then, of course, a karaoke setup. Food was good. My mom really liked the pancit. I had a burger. They seemed to do a lot of takeout so even if the restaurant was quiet, like it was when we were there, there was a bit of a wait for the food. Soft drinks were refillable. Service was good.

My boyfriend and I visited this place on a Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM. It wasn’t very crowded, but the staff was incredibly friendly. The portions were very large, and the menu featured a fusion of Eastern and Western dishes. Overall, the experience was quite good. Here’s what we ordered: Bangsilog ($19.95): This dish consists of fried milkfish, served with some vegetables, two sunny-side-up eggs, Java rice, and a sauce made of something similar to fish sauce and vinegar. The overall taste was mild. Although the milkfish isn’t locally sourced, I was really craving fish, so I ordered this dish. If you’re sensitive to the fishy taste, I wouldn’t recommend this dish. Bison Burger w/ Fries ($19.95): The bison meat is on the tougher side since bison doesn’t have much fat. This dish was pretty tasty—after all, it’s hard to go wrong with a burger, lol. Halo-halo: I didn’t see this dessert on the menu, but I found it mentioned in some Google reviews, so I decided to try it. The ube flavor was very strong and delicious, and the ingredients were generous. I highly recommend giving this dessert a try.

I ordered the pork adobo on rice, my boyfriend ordered the beef jerky on rice. Be sure to tell them if you're not used to spicy things, because my adobo came with some chily (which I accidentally ate and became a fire breathing dragon for real), and I tasted some of my partner's sauce - I swear my mouth hurt for ten minutes straight and it was pretty bad (as a person who isn't used to spicy things). Other than that, all was tasty. The pork adobo came with lots of fattier parts, that's one thing I didn't like as much. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions. They do have a few things which are not mentioned on the menu (at that time they had sinigang, karekare, chicken inasal - neither was mentioned on the menu, but if you ask them about it, they will tell you). Prices are very good and portion sizes are also very nice, I left satisfied and so did my boyfriend. They had pool tables.

The Mantle Restaurant is relatively new and not many locals or tourists are familiar with it. They have a very large menu, including appetizers, Filipino food, Mexican, burgers, and a full drinks menu (wine, spirits, and beer). The food quality is very high, excellent service, the food comes out steaming hot, reasonable prices, and clean premises. I will definitely be returning.

If I could give no stars I would. First room was hot as hell and there was a bug on the sheet.. not a bedbug just a bug. Then I moved to a cooler room and as I’m sitting in a chair that has gum stuck to the back of it that my shirt keeps sticking to it, I think I see something moving under the chair in the corner. Not thinking anything of it and I keep playing on my phone.. little to see a mouse running across my bathroom floor. I’m not saying all rooms suck but it’s not the best motel to stay at.

I was there for a week for work. The room itself was adequate. Could do with an update, and a good deep clean. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. The restaurant was pretty good, service a little slow. Bar was good fun when it was open. Just about everyone was super friendly. Just like everything in town, it was very expensive.

I checked into my room after a 24 hr drive and i was afraid that i would not get any sleep. You know what ? I felt like i was at home. The room was clean the people that i talked to where like my neighbors very helpful and directions and finding other places to go to eat . Just a home away from home. The best out of 10 hotels. I give the 1st place winners in my book.

Old school bar loung/ dinner feel. Come ready to talk to the locals, there very friendly. Very remote out door living kind of place. Good food. You get alot of food on your plate. They cater baked goods cakes and food for large events.

We stayed in Hay River for one night on our way to Yellowknife. Our family ordered 2 wraps, beef chow mein, and lasagna. The portions were huge, the food was incredibly delicious and I’m sad we only get to eat here once. The picture shows half of the chicken caesar wrap

Well… I’m honestly at a loss for words. I ordered the chicken fried rice with pineapple chicken and beef broccoli combo, and it was a big disappointment. I could literally count the pieces of meat in the entire dish—maybe 2 or 3 at most. The “pineapple chicken” turned out to be mostly huge fried batter balls with tiny bits of chicken hidden inside. It felt like I was paying for flour, not food. The beef broccoli? Barely any beef. Overall, not worth the money. Won’t be ordering again.

I’ve never felt so ripped off, terrible food. The ginger beef was loaded with raw onion. There’s no chicken in the chicken fried rice, and the noodle dishes literally had two pieces of meat in each. There’s only thing that was good was the can of Pepsi. The $19.95 Singapore noodles was nothing but $2 worth of noodles. I thought the other one in town was bad, but this takes the cake

I recently went to this restaurant and ordered a beef chow mein, it was honestly one of the worst I've ever tasted, it was extremely bland, dry and plain out disgusting. The customer service was pretty bad. And after we got told to sit down, there was no open space, every table was just dirty. I think this restaurant deserves a 2 tops, I don't think it deserves a 3.8

Don't let reviews by drama queens scare you away. The staff are quite pleasant, helpful and accommodating without being uppity. We both had the Friday prime rib special and it was good. Portions are large. I had a rather unique drink and it was a refreshing one. I've only been to this restaurant four times in the more than 25 that it has been here and it has always been fine. Yes, prices definitely are higher than drive-through.

A nice small Cafe in the NWT Legislative building. The staff were great, the food options and quality were way above expectations for a small cafe. My son is fussy with his food so for him to ask for a second chicken burger/sandwich is worthy of my 5 stars on it's own.

Located inside the beautiful NWT Legislature Building, this small restaurant serves not just cofee and delightful desserts, but also one of the best lunches to be had in Yellowknife. Their lunch specials change daily and are truly unique but very much delicious. If you're in the area and or wanting a delicious meal to accompany the beautiful surroundings of the NWT Legislature I highly recommend taking the time to check out the Cliff Cafe.

The food is really good. The only negative thing I'm gonna say is that 1 of the people in my party. Got fresh cut French fries which was awesome and I decided to order something to go and instead of giving me those. They gave me those God. Awful bagged fries. That are dusted with flour and I won't deny.I threw them in the garbage.

Never again!! The prices online were WRONG. Nearly paid double at pick up time. The Chicken Balks look like they say for the day...dried and unappetizing! Beef and Broccoli had zero flavor! $15 bucks for rubbery green onion cake!! I am so disappointed! I don't know if they have a new cook or what but they have definitely gone down hill!

This is a family run business and I found our server to be very friendly. Service was quick and the food was good. I am glad I chose the Woodland Wok & Grill for lunch.

Ok, the place is clean, but it's right out of the 1980's decor wise. It's redeeming quality is the food and wait staff. Had the Wor Wonton (outstanding), deep fried squid rings (rings were very good, dip was a little sad), and my dining partner had some western Chinese combo platter (the ginger beef was very good). Waitress was very attentive, food arrived shockingly quick and hot. For the Wor Wonton this is now my favourite restaurant in Hay River.

I loved this place.....Laid back and very relaxing. We used to come here after escaping from the mine... The family were terrific and always treated us like family. The food was always excellent and authentic...and 'Woodland' pizza was always the Number one choice for Sunday Football!

This is a very nice restaurant with a view of Great Slave Lake. I wish I was there during warmer months as they have an outdoor patio. The whitefish was amazing! So was the brownie dessert! Only downfall was their wine selection. All were very sweet.

I had a lovely dining experience at this lakeside restaurant. The setting beside the water created a relaxing and scenic atmosphere. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. I ordered the fish piccata, and it was bursting with flavor—perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. A great spot for both the food and the view!

Wanted to try some Indian food in Yellowknife and visited this place for dinner. Tried the Hyderabadi Biriyani and it was flavourful with right amount of spices. The mushroom soup was good as well. The service was good and the staff were friendly.

Butter chicken was flavourful and delicious. The mild had enough spice to add to how flavorful it is. Also had the calamari - it was nice and crispy

I had a good experience at the restaurant. The pasta was tasty, though a bit spicy for my preference, and the burger was delicious. The staff were very nice and provided excellent service. My only disappointment is that they don’t offer iced coffee, which would have been a great addition. Overall, still a solid dining experience!

Nice food, quick service too. The patio gives a nice view of the bay. If you're lucky, you might see a plane land on the water.

We popped by an hour before closing and they were super nice to accommodate us. Inside is very cosy, very full of boxes and random supplies and freezers. Already I felt like it was a legit Chinese restaurant 😂 We ordered the braised pork belly and the Beijing noodles. I have zero complaints, the food was so good. The pork belly jiggled and absolutely melted in your month. The noodles had good texture and a generous amount of pork and cucumber. We had enough to take leftovers for the next day. I would definitely recommend this place to satisfy Asian food cravings while in Yellowknife.

Just had an incredible meal at Cai’s! The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. We loved the tomato fried egg and the Hunan pig foot (love the spice). The service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance was lovely. Highly recommend for anyone craving top-tier Chinese food of Yellowknife. We'll be back!

Really friendly service and a wonderful homestyle Chinese experience. We ate like kings, with food on par with the better restaurants in Richmond B.C. I was impressed by the multitude of flavors and unique options on the menu, and wish I could come back every day for a week straight just to try it all. Small eatery but serves a variety of dishes and meals, and bubble tea. Had wanton noodles - the wantons are made of pork (not prawns) and are homemade - each batch is freshly made. The wanton noodles (wantons, tomato and broccoli and some spring onion) comes in a large bowl - can be shared between 2 persons (small eaters), or for one hungry person.

This cozy local café in Yellowknife is a bit far from downtown, so I took a taxi to get there. The atmosphere made me feel like I had stepped into a scene from a Canadian drama—it was so authentic and charming. The food and coffee were delicious, and I’d love to visit again💗

We had a good time to experience snow shoes in the trails. The view from the hill was incredible. Thanks for showing us such a special place. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. Ice cream was homemade which tasted VERY nice! Big recommend!!

Cute quaint spot. Got the date scone which was good. They also have a small corner shop which sells a bunch of cute stuff.

Cute local cafe with handmade fresh options. They also have a full bar service and very reasonable pricing compared to the other few good places in Yellowknife. Definitely try their cheese platter and Focaccia Bread. Must visit for when visiting the town. Could get busy during the weekends but it's sufficient seating and service staff available. Also the service is quick and efficient. Loved the place way more than the other popular Bullocks Bistro with very limited food options. They both however are very different with the options they offer. Definitely try their ice cream with Birch Syrup for purchase.

Came here first to grab a coffee and I ended up returning as I quickly realized that this is a hidden gem for dinner. They have a lovely tapas selection and its a refreshing offer into Yellowknife'food scene. Their team is very friendly! Coffee and ice cream were also good.

We went dog sledding, and it was an amazing experience! The dogs were full of energy sometimes is hard to control but they’re absolutely adorable angels 🥺. Our French guide, Steven (sorry if I got the spelling wrong!), was very kind and made the experience even better. Big shoutout to Steven! Also, the Sun Dog ice cream? So good! The waffle cone was the best part. The meal itself was just okay, but the roasted potatoes were delicious!

Nice cozy cafe. My cappuccino is sad looking and bitter compared back to Australia. Soups were great and delicious looking pastries. Free WiFi too.
