The 35 best cheap eats in Rethymnon

We heard really good things about the restaurant and we were excited to try, but ended up pretty disappointed. We ordered « a puff pastry » with feta cheese, lemon, rose, and fig. However, it was three different pastries with fig, rose jam, and lemon jam. It wasn’t quite our taste. For main dishes, we ordered the lamb/pork burger and rigatoni with pesto and pork tenderloin. The burger was delicious, but the accompanied fries were a bit hard to eat. The pesto dish was quite oily and not as flavorful. We didn’t finish the dish. We were given complementary cake and raki which was nice and tasted great though. The servers were friendly and everything was given within a good time. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the rest of the food much.

Another good restaurant in Rethymno Old Town. Food, atmosphere and service were top notch. Especially starter (greek meze platter) and deserts were delicious. Location is perfect and you definitely can feel the authentic greek taverna. Yes, they don't have usual greek food, but is more like fusion between greek and modern cuisines. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Rethymno.

This restaurant is truly excellent — everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere is top-notch. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, and the setting is beautiful both inside and out. The interior, built within an old stone structure, gives it a charming, authentic feel, while the outdoor seating area is cozy and full of character. The menu is rich and varied, with many well-crafted Cretan dishes. We ordered several plates, all delicious and nicely presented. The traditional Cretan salad was great, the cheese bites with different toppings were amazing (especially the fig one), and the stuffed vine leaves were excellent — and I say that as someone who grew up eating them at home. We also tried the sea bream carpaccio, which was fresh and interesting, though the fruits on top slightly overpowered the fish. Still tasty, but the balance could be improved. The only drawback is the price — it’s quite expensive. It doesn’t ruin the experience, but it’s worth mentioning. Everything else, from the food to the service, was truly outstanding. After dinner, the staff even helped us find a table at the bar just behind the restaurant, which added to the overall experience. A beautiful place tucked between the alleys — definitely worth a visit if you don’t mind the higher prices.

Enjoyed my dining experience at Raki Ba Raki. Beautiful restaurant setting with seating out on the street. Nicely decorated restaurant. Service was good ,our waiter was really lovely ! Quite a big menu with vegetarian options at meat. Our food was really good and I enjoyed it but wasn’t outstanding. Highlight was the fried potatos (amazing). Complimentary orange cake and traditional liquor at the end. Good drink selection and wine list. Nice play to go out for dinner.

We came at around 8pm on a saturday night without reservation and were able to get a table directly inside. Food was served quickly but we felt a bit rushed (Waiter came for our order while we were still looking at the menu, the starter and main dish arrived before we could even finish our first drink and we noticed lots of looks from the waiters to see if the table needed to be cleared, although we weren’t even 15 minutes into the main dish). Food-wise, very good dolmas, and the octopus with fava bean puree was perfectly cooked. The homemade pasta was disappointing though. Pretty overcooked and overall felt heavy. The chocolate baklava had a good taste and texture.

This restaurant is a must visit place if you are in Crete. The food is very delicious, the portions are large and well prepared. The staff are very polite and welcoming and the restaurant is so well decorated. I suggest the lamb and the oxtail. Overall I strongly recommend it!

For the first time in my life, I’ve felt emotions during my diner. Everything was PERFECT, including the service. Made with local products, the food makes me understand the worldwide reputation of the island.

I think this was the best restaurant we visited on Crete. The atmosphere is close to perfect — the interior is beautiful, and you’re seated in a courtyard where the ceiling is replaced by overgrown greenery. There’s a fountain in the middle, and a skinny grey cat casually walks around — all of this creates a truly magical ambiance. As for the food — we started with a Cretan salad, which was delicious. Every ingredient stood out in its own way. For the main course, we ordered moussaka and seafood pasta. The staff also recommended an incredibly tasty local wine. Everything was absolutely delicious. Regarding the service — the people here are very kind and down-to-earth. One detail that stood out was that they asked us when we’d like the main courses served, making sure we were finished with the starters first. This level of attention was a pleasant surprise. Wow wow wow what an amazing restaurant ! The best in town by far, my chicken was amazing, along with other dishes. The desserts were surprisingly amazing, so much better than the normal, and the atmosphere is very chill and pleasant. A must, honestly it's pricey but worth every penny.

Sofia and the staff here are very children friendly, green salad so superb, one of the best salad I had. Chicken on pita is very innovative and good too. Snail wont beat those you had in France but a different flavour.

Hidden in an old courtyard beneath a canopy of vines, this place felt instantly like the right choice. Recommended by Lonely Planet and plenty of travelers, the restaurant’s shtick is to take traditional Cretan dishes and elevate them with modern touches. My taste buds squealed the moment I bit into wild green rolls, wrapped in chickpea flour and lightly fried. A simple yet clever combination. But the star of the day was the cooked rooster. Served on house-made pita, layered with cumin (thanks to one of the chefs being Pakistani), and topped with marinated roasted rooster strips, sweet potato purée, sweet potato crisps, and fresh greens — it was a festival in my mouth. To balance the richness, small balls of soft, mild cheese sat at the corners of the pita, giving the whole dish rhythm and relief. Even the pepper was carefully chosen — strong enough to bite, but never overpowering. Immaculate service, a glass of chilled raki straight from the freezer, and complimentary sweets sealed the deal.

Fantastic restaurant tucked in the alleyway, teaming with old town atmosphere and charm. Stuff is very professional and engaging and food is tasty and well made - moussaka is a must,don’t skip it! Sweet treats and shots of raki on the house was a nice touch.

The To Pigardi restaurant in the old town of Rethymno is one not to be missed. A charming courtyard restaurant under grape vines in a garden setting. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. The food is fabulous at a reasonable price and staff are friendly and very patient while trying to decide what what you would like to sample.

An oasis of Mediterranean beauty and scrumptious dishes. The service was kind and friendly. Every dish was amazing, generous and beautifully served. This place should be rated 10/10 in the Old City of Rethymno. I would come for dinner here every night and try everything on the menu!

I ate greek salad as starter and it was ok, it is hard to spoil that if ingredients are ok. As a main course chicken with small salad and fries. Chicken was not the best one, it was not prepared properly and not the best parts of chicken. Fries were tasteless, so this course was was not good at all. What is good in this restaurant, first of all it is beautiful place and the service is really good. I loved the dessert cake, which came on the house. Waiters are really friendly and make you feel good. All the other things worked, but my main course, so I give anyways four stars.

Very pretty restaurant and location a sort of oases in the middle of a busy shop street. We wanted to try a few of traditional Greek dishes so we ordered only starters and it was delicious and we got a complimentary dessert in the end. The staff was really sweet and a bonus point the neighbours cat would climb over the wall and say hello so cute 😁.

Charming restaurant that you can access from one of the quaint side streets or directly from the square. We stopped after meandering the old town for several hours for a drink. I sat down and said to my friend "I'd like a lemonade" and there were 2 on the menu but neither was available. However, two special lemonades were available, one with lavender and one with rose. Both delicious and refreshing.

By far the best food we had on Crete – highly recommended! Absolutely fantastic experience at Lemonokipos! The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was honestly outstanding – I’ve never had grilled calamari this tender and flavorful, and the octopus was just as impressive. The setting under the old plane trees is beautiful and adds to the authentic Greek atmosphere. If it didn’t take us 1.5 hours to get there, I would seriously eat here every single day.

I had heard about their famous lemon tart and stopped by to sample it. Wow! It could well be the best lemon meringue tart/pie I've ever had (and I've tried many). The friendly manager/owner recommended a glass of wine to go with it and it was a perfect duo. The courtyard setting under the trees is lovely too.

The atmosphere was lovely and the service was nice. However we ordered fish of the day and it was incredibly pricy for the portion. Also for the 3 pieces of vegetables we did get - they felt frozen. The small amount of the fish was tasty.

„The Lady of the Burger“ is the best. Super Service, (thanks to the woman with the wonderful laugh, a big heart and a beautiful name ;-) ) we had a great time talking to her. She was telling us about the history and religion in Rethymno. We had a hot dog and a burger (Elvis Burger). Soooo good! She even gave us some bread for next day’s breakfast ❤️ it was a really pleasant stay - just around the corner away from the people who try to drag you into their restaurant by the lighthouse. (The burger came with fries which wasn’t mentioned on the menu)

Wonderful hospitality!! The lovely lady here helped us find our accommodation, we had a drink while we waited and returned later for dinner… The burgers were amazing, made with TLC. When I asked for wine she initially said they didn’t have any but returned a short time later with a carafe for me 🥹

Mojo Burgers is hands down the best burger place I’ve ever tried, not just in Crete, but in all of Europe! The burgers are simply outstanding: juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it makes you want to stay longer. A special mention goes to the lovely lady who both prepares the food and takes the orders, she is extremely kind and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. If you’re a burger lover, this place is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended

Thank you for a wonderful dinner, starting with homemade garlic bread and sautéed mushrooms, followed by grilled chicken with crispy potatoes and mustard sauce. I had the sauce on the side, which was better, as the potatoes stayed crispy and I could have as much sauce as I wanted with my chicken. They offered us halva and a delicious liquor on the house. The service was 5 stars, with everyone very attentive and helpful. And the food was not only beautifully presented, but very delicious.

Really enjoyed our meal here. 10 of us but didn't phase them, food all brought out very efficiently. Would highly recommend getting dishes and sharing, purely so you can try more of their fabulous cuisine!

Accidently stumbled on this amazing restaurant. I was out hanging out in the old town and it was lunch hour. Had to eat something to fuel up. 😂From outside, it felt like a well organized restaurant, and I was not disappointed. Had the slow cooked lamb. With puree vegetables. The lamb was so tender, it felt like melting inside my mouth. And the puree had multiple flavors meshed in together. It was really tasty. The service was quite fast and professional. Even the owner came asking for feedback. They even have a good choice of music. Loved the vibe. Finally, like a cherry on top, I was offered a dessert on the house. Definitely looking forward for a second visit.

I had high hopes for Asíkiko, but unfortunately it was not as amazing as I expected. Overall food was adequate, but the main dish lemon pork was served a bit cold and the meat was quite dry (felt like it had been sitting on the counter for a while). Service felt rushed. Overall experience on an average level.

Asikiko – a very pleasant and modern restaurant in Rethymno. You can really feel that this is not just traditional Greek cuisine, but rather Cretan cuisine reimagined in a contemporary way — creative and aiming to surprise you. Atmosphere & service – the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is wonderful (though keep in mind that people might smoke at nearby tables — but what do you expect from a southern country? Everyone smokes here and it’s generally accepted). About the food – we ordered the black risotto with shrimp, and it truly has a wow effect. We also had the moussaka, which was quite unusual (might not be to everyone’s taste), and the fish, which was nicely done and flavorful.

We have no words! We arrived at Rethymno after a long day of travelling and it was the 1st place we saw and thought to have our lunch. In the old city of Rethymno, we didn't expect too much but we have no words of how GOOD everything tasted. Kudos to the stuff preparing everything and of course to the waiters for the great service! We had the pasta with chicken and cheese, the sausage with "kimchi" cabbage (if you have tried original kimchi you will notice the difference since this one was like a pickled cabbage with something spicy) and if I'm not mistaken a paste of beans and mustard, the AMAZING dakos salad which was refreshing and tastefully, grilled cheese with jam and they bring you in the beginning warm bread with olive oil and tomato and in the end they bring you on the house some halve dessert which is light and delightful!

First of all, the view is amazing and almost singlehandedly worth the price of the dinner, highly recommended to visit this place for drinks and dinner after a walk around the fortress, as it's close by. The food is decent and priced fairly for the location. The staff is friendly and available at all times. Music is also good if you are into Greek radio-like songs; and volume is perfect for normal discussion with your party and sea sounds.

This place stood out to me as it was one of the few places in Rethemno that has great elevated sea views. Was a perfect rest spot after walking through the Fortezza ancient village. I thought it would be overpriced because of location but found it to very reasonable. Staff were extra friendly and made it a very enjoyable lunch stop. Colourful & friendly! Not to mention the cold Stella on tap😎👍

Wonderful bar/ restaurant at the entrance to the fortezza. The elevated position makes for amazing views. The staff are really lovely and friendly. They really look after their customers and make you feel appreciated. We had a lovely afternoon here with some lunch and a few drinks after a morning visiting the fortezza.

This restaurant is an absolute gem on the strip in Rethymno! The food is simply spectacular, every dish was bursting with flavor and honestly the best we’ve had since arriving in Crete. Each dish hounours the essence of Greek & Mediterranean cuisine. The staff are wonderful warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable, making us feel right at home. We had dinner twice in Nostos during our week in Rethymno and both times it was an amazing experience. Edward was so lovely and welcoming! Delicious food - we had pork with honey glaze and feta and stuffed aubergines the first time and pappardelle with chicken and lamb kleftiko the second time). Could not fault it!

I went to Nostos to check the location and ask for a table reservation since it was my birthday and I had a not so good experience with another restaurant near the port that had some nice views but lack positive attitude. The staff was very polite and happy to help. They've created a nice ambient and were always kind with us. Good energy, always smiling, things that don't cost but make a difference. The food was very tasty with big portions and nice plating. Nice music and pleasent ambient! At the end we served some shots all together from my region. Will definitely come here again when returning to Rethymno! It's not the views that makes a place special but the people that manage it.

We decided to visit Nostos because of its outstanding reputation and impressive rating of 4.9 with thousands of reviews. While the service was kind and welcoming, we personally found the food a little underwhelming. The dishes were ok, but they didn’t quite stand out compared to other meals we’ve enjoyed in Rethymnon. Perhaps our expectations were too high given the many glowing reviews, but for us it didn’t fully live up to the hype.

We found this place just by walking in the Old town. It’s located in a lovely street, on a cozy shadow of the trees. So we loved the atmosphere. The staff was super helpful and so welcoming and friendly! But the most important is the quality and taste of food. It was just excellent! I took grilled octopus and my husband had chicken gyros — these are definite must try. Pita freshly baked, Greek salad freshly cut. Everything fresh and tasty. We will definitely come by the next days. Strongly recommend🤌

Although the place was completely full they found a place for us shortly. The food was great and came quickly. The owner made effort to find subsistence for a component in a salad we wanted but had problem with. After the dinner we had a conversation with the owner, great man and proud Greek. We enjoyed the meal and definitely recommend.

Truly wonderful food with unique flavors that will satisfy even the most demanding tastes. The portions were just right — not too big, but definitely not small either, perfectly satisfying. The prices were excellent; we were five people, had wine, five main dishes, a salad, and two appetizers, and paid only €105. What really impressed me was the speed of service — even though the place was packed, our food arrived just eight minutes after ordering, and it was far from rushed. Everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were also very friendly and polite. As for the setting, it’s nothing fancy, just a typical Greek tavern, but located on a beautiful pedestrian street among the picturesque alleys of Rethymno. Bravo once again for such a great job — you truly deserve it!

Exactly what we were looking for during our trip to Rethymno. Very friendly waiters in a nice atmosphere. We had snails, grilled sardines, bread and ouzo. Everything was very tasty. They offer gluten-free options and their homemade bread, regular and gluten-free, was awesome. Also you get some fruit and a raki for desert. Prices and portion sizes were very good, definitely a recommendation!!

Went here twice and the food and service never disappoint! Always a server available with a smile for any of our requests. The servings are huge so second time we just shared a starter and gyros. Love the cheesecake and ouzo dessert they always give on the house too!

Great food, starter could have been a little more attractive with some real bread instead of bread sticks and the dips could have been a bit tastier. Desert that was served for free was a bit sticky, showing signs of it being prepared already well in advance. However, still tasty and delicious. The pizza itself was good as well as the salad. Service was as quick and friendly. Overall recommendation for this place.

The food was excellent. We crossed by this restaurant last week but decided to stop another time. Today we stopped there and the food was delicious. They welcomed us with smile and were really opened to explain us about the pasta my wife was having. At the end they give us a little dessert and I was quite impressed. Definitely recommend

I tried the crepes and all I have to say they are really sweet. Like diabetes type sweet. The price is fine and the taste as well. But if u visit don't buy a whole crepe for urself, share it.

A very nice and trendy cafe with impressive Christmas decor. The place offers good sweet and savoury pastries and pies. It is a good place for breakfast. Beware that the place is very popular and gets crowded, it is often hard to find a table. There can also be a lot of smoke and noise.

Really nice place to go and enjoy your brunch , nice atmosphere and most important of all very tasty food! The ingredients were fresh and our coffee good. Service was fast and the staff very polite. For sure I'll go again

Bankery is a fun place to grab a coffee and sweet treat! It's decorated in a really fun way, and the waiters are also dressed with the theme. The place can get quite loud, so it's not the idea place to work (unless you love loud places), but it's fun to sit and enjoy a coffee or chat with friends. The energy is lively, so it's not a quiet coffee shop. Also, smoking is allowed indoors, which is very typical in Greece.

What a fantastic meal. With a mostly attentive staff. About the only drawback is that the "inside" is really the inside and outside patio as one giant area that you can smoke cigarettes right beside a table in the non smoking area, that part sucked. However we will go back.

My American family of four that included an 11 and 13 year old was craving a big breakfast. We had been hanging out in Old Town every day and hadn't seen anything that would fit the bill. Then we saw photos on Trip Advisor and decided to give The Bankery a try. No, it's not The Bakery. It's Bankery because it used to be a bank, and still has the huge vaulted door downstairs!) It took awhile to get noticed by the wait staff once seated, but then they were so nice and so attentive! The kids had a lovely plate of eggs and bacon, and my husband and I shared the Variety Breakfast Platter for two. It was fabulous! A ton of food with a great selection of Cretan favorites and traditional American/ British choices. It was way too much for two so the kids shared and we brought the rest back to our villa. In addition, I had been craving some "American" style drip or filtered coffee. Couldn't find it anywhere. Here at Bankery I finally found it. Even better, it came in a great big glass mug that I could add all the creamer I wanted. I cried with delight I was so happy. I even ordered a second, it was so good. The manager and wait staff were very friendly and just couldn't do enough for us. We appreciated the free refills of cold clean bottled water as it was a hot day outside. In addition, the setting and decor was really hip and happening with good music. It would be a nice trendy bar if it were in Chicago. Yet there were lots of children present. The only thing that deterred from our enjoyment was that our table was surrounded by heavy smokers, but A) that is the culture, B) as Americans we're just not exposed to that anymore so it takes getting used to, and C) we were seated outside so that helped to dissipate the smoke. Lastly, the bill was incredibly reasonable for all the freshly squeezed juices and food that was ordered. All in all we had a great visit and we are so glad we stopped here.

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to be able to get a table at Zefyros. Having experienced fine Mediterranean cuisine in our hometown of Montreal the expectations were high. Zefyros did not disappoint. The owner was extremely welcoming, the service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. We ordered the Cretan salad and fried baby calamari to start. We also shared the grilled sea bream and seafood pasta. By far the freshest fish and seafood I've ever had. The presentation of the dishes was amazing. The owner treated us to dessert after. A delicious baklava ice cream. Overall the best experience we've had dining out in Crete. Highly recommended!

The best experience we’ve had in Rethymno so far! From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and exceptional kindness. The food was absolutely delicious, every bite full of flavor and clearly made with care. At the end of the meal, we were treated to a complimentary dessert baklava with ice cream, which was phenomenal along with a shot of homemade raki with honey and cinnamon that was simply amazing. Zefyros in Rethymno was absolutely exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service attentive and professional, and the food simply outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seafood was unforgettable, and the desserts were the perfect finish. A true gem in Rethymno that I would gladly return to again.

Zefyros Restaurant was one of the best dining experiences we had in Crete! The owner was incredibly kind and devoted, making us feel at home in a warm, family-like atmosphere. I would leave more stars if I could. The staff was more than friendly, I loved how welcome they make us feel even if they were very busy. We were offered to try the wine before deciding which let us have the best wine for our tast. The fish was perfectly cooked and lieu ne tell you, I did grow up by the Mediterranean sea, PERFECT. Authentic charm and fresh flavors by the old harbor in Rethymno ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Zefyros Taverna at Rethymno’s old harbor is a true gem! We went there for dinner on a friend’s recommendation and couldn’t have been happier. Everything was freshly prepared, and we were warmly welcomed with homemade raki, such a wonderful gesture. The décor is authentic and reminds you of a modern fisherman’s house, tasteful, cozy and set right by the water. The service left nothing to be desired attentive, friendly and quick. To finish we were served a homemade lemon sorbet with raki – simply delicious! A charming taverna with the perfect waterfront location, excellent food and warm hospitality. Highly recommended! This is a fancy restaurant with fancy food and fancy decoration. The staff is polite but colder and more formal than what you expect from Crete. The food here is delicious and well prepared. The portions are medium size. Large people might have to order multiple plates especially after spending a lot of energy walking and swimming. I tried a delicious chicken with orange sauce. Fantastic. The burger here is also something else. The place itself is awesome. One of the most beautiful decorations I've seem. It is a mix of ruins, nature, and modern. The trees leaves work as roof.

After 9 years we finally came back—just because we couldn’t forget that starter we loved so much. To our surprise, not only was the taste exactly as we remembered, but we were even served by the same waiter as back then. Talk about time travel on a plate! The flavors brought back all the good memories, only now with an extra smile (and a laugh or two). Some restaurants serve food, this one serves nostalgia with a side of joy.

We visited Rethymno for the day, and for dinner we ended up at Alana Restaurant. What a great choice that was! Even though we didn’t have a reservation, the staff welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel right at home. Everyone was so kind and friendly. The outdoor area is absolutely charming, full of flowers and trees, with a calm and peaceful atmosphere, it felt like dining in a lovely garden. Since we were in Crete, we went for seafood, calamari and fish, and both were just incredible! So fresh, perfectly cooked, soft and full of flavour. We also tried the chicken, which was great too, but the seafood really stole the show. Service was fast and attentive, and everything we ordered, from the starters to the simple bread and olives, was simply delicious. It goes without saying, next time we’re in Rethymno, Alana will be the first place we visit again!

What a great place, highly recommend it. Been here in 2005 and now again in 2025. Food and service were incredible. Waiter recommended wine and dishes and was spot on. We had a great evening, finished of with a thunderstorm! 🤣⛈️ The desserts were a great take on classic desserts. We had the beef fillet ‘honey’, melt in mouth meat, lamb shank, Greek ribeye steak and pasta. Dessert were chocolate soufflé (absolutely gorgeous), panacotta, lemon tart and cheesecake. The pina colade mocktail was divine.

Traditional Mediterranean cousine presented with a refined and modern elegance. The appetizer tempura shrimp was exceptionally tasty, pretty neat with the ink of the cuttlefish and the saffron aioli was the cherry on the top. The slow cooked Lamb Shank was succulent and delightful. The shrimp orzo pasta was bursting with fresh flavours. The staff was very friendly. Do not miss this lovely restaurant located in the old town in Rethymno.

We had dinner here. Amazing service, great food, and very good atmosphere. The music is great. Totally worth having dinner here. We had the Bife Carpaccio, shrimp tempura, gnocchi, and chateaubriand. Everything amazing.

We went to Castello and had the oxtail with gnocchi and a fillet steak. The steak was pretty average (though beautifully presented), while the oxtail was really tasty. The location and ambiance were great, right in the heart of the old town with all the those old-town vibes. Service was as you’d expect. It’s definitely not a tourist trap, but I’d say they focus more on presentation and atmosphere than on standout food, especially given the price point. Still, we had a lovely evening and don’t regret it!

A good place to experience high end dining with reasonable prices. Recommend the veal chop and pork tenderloin for main course. Also a good list of high quality wines yo choose from. Owner is very friendly and hostipable. Despite going in rush hour, service was very fast

Castelo Restaurant offers a wonderful mix of traditional Greek cuisine with a modern twist. We tried several starters and main courses — all were absolutely delicious. The local white wine paired perfectly with every dish, and the dessert, an apple crumble, was outstanding. Be prepared — the portions are generous!

Went a couple of times, the second I reserved a seat inside of the Saturday night for a special night out. It was well worth it. The food, service and atmosphere was amazing. I was incredibly well looked after. A great place for a meal or something special.

This restaurant is located in the heart of old town,so if you are planning to pay them a visit just bare in mind that u need to park ur car in one of the old towns' parkings and walk to the restaurant (closest parking 5-7 minutes away) Make a reservation prior to ur arrival especially if u are visiting them on a weekend! Food is decent and representation is fancy, nice place for a special night perhaps! Inside is very pretty, I recommend you to sit inside! After we finished our dinner, we were given dessert and liquire on the house!

I recommend this restaurant to anyone in Rethymno. The food is delicious and extremely varied. A highlight are the various terraces, or rather floors, where you can eat. We were lucky and were able to eat right at the top, on the rooftop. The service was excellent, and the staff are all extremely friendly. We'll definitely go again.

We did not have a reservation, but they tried to find us a table and we had a delicious dinner, with a starter of falafel and octopus, followed by a main of fish and seafood saganaki. The service was 5 stars, with everyone very attentive and helpful. And the food was not only beautifully presented, but very delicious.

Amazing find - for families / groups with someone who is coeliac or gluten intolerant. Good choice of food with nearly everything offered in gluten free. Even the complementary bread at the start. The waitress actually had gloves on to serve the gluten free food. The food and wine were delicious and we had a lovely evening. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Lovely restaurant right on the front opposite the beach. Good for people watching. Busy atmosphere next to bars and other restaurants. Food is Mediterranean and was delicious we had olives and bread, a shared Greek salad and risotto, and pork tenderloin. Too full for dessert! 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine. Bill was 78 euros before the tip.

Modern Greek kitchen: Food and service were fabulous! We had several starters and the main course with fish and gambas All over it was very tasty. The waitress was very friendly, spoke several languages and well educated in winery. We enjoyed it very much and would go there again for sure.

I had an amazing birthday dinner at Vassilis. Sitting on the stairs with full view on the city is quite romantic. Drinks were really good as well as food. Some specials on the menu. And nice twists with classic dishes. The great service made it a really fantastic experience all together.

Quiet atmosphere, far from the chaos and yet just a stone's throw from the center. Friendly and courteous staff (both girls were extremely kind). Excellent food and value for money, 10 out of 10! Nice the fact that they didn't have the classic gyros, souvlaki, moussaka on the menu but their own interpretations of excellent dishes made with care and research.

Brilliant little find for a beer. Excellent service by a young lady with black curly hair. Did everything to help us and after a mistake on the bill she quickly noticed it and rectified it. Would definitely return and would have spent longer if we had the time. 10/10. Staff were also friendly to the local cats!

Really great and unique traditional Food. Very reasonable Price, about 12-17€ for a large main course. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and talkative. We spoke about video games after I said he looked like Alexios from the game “assassins creed”. Our food was a few minutes delayed, so he offered wine on the house. Also offered to take a picture of our family for us. The building is also beautiful, and really doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

Decent food for a decent price. Only the table placement is pretty bad for couples. Put away in a corner or outside in front of the restaurant. The nice blue steps are only for groups. Staff is friendly enough but it took ages to get some food.

We walked by on Sunday and stopped for a drink and I am so glad we did. We ended up eating lunch and it was beautiful. We have since been back twice and we will again before we leave for home. Anna served us and remembered us when we returned. Its a beautiful restaurant with an amazing view over the harbour and the staff are first class.

Superb sea bass in wonderful harbour location A wonderful meal in lovely surroundings with genial hosts. We looked at a few restaurants on the harbour before opting for Cavo D'oro. We were met by the owner Pedro's who was very amicable and offered us a couple of options for a table. We sat outside as it was a nice evening, overlooking the harbour. We perused the menu opting for a bottle of pink blackbird Rose with bread and tomato and olive oil dip and mushrooms in honey. We chose the salmon in lemon sauce and Cod initially, but when we came to order Anna offered us 800gms of sea bass for 2 so we went with her recommendation. We were not disappointed. Firstly the mushrooms in honey were generous in portion size and delicious but the real highlight was the Sea bass for 2. Ilt came with a very elegant presentation and the fish was filleted and cooked to perfection. It was deboned for us which we both appreciated. Sorry we should have taken a photo but we were too excited to dive in and taste it. We were not disappointed it was moist, flavoursome and complimented by the lemon sauce and array of veg and new potatoes. All in all the meal and dining experience was a delight. You would be foolish not to try this place out when in Rethymnon. We sat outside as it was a nice evening but the interior is lovely too ( see pics.) Alright, so this place? Yeah. That seafood pasta is no joke. Seriously, best I've ever had. My previous "best" just got demoted. And the staff, everyone, even the chef – just top-notch. Super friendly, made the whole thing easy. You'd be dumb not to go here. Trust me.

We had the lobster and it was amazing. Tender and cooked perfectly. The staff have a great knowledge of gluten free offering almost all the seafood gluten free. Would definitely return.

Love this restaurant. Beautiful view of the lighthouse and bay in a quiet setting. Food was delicious. Very fresh and prepared. I had the mussels and davos salad and my husband had the octopus and sardines. My favorite meal so far on our trip.

It was good! However there it is really, really huge and they have enormous portions, so beware! My waffle was great, but there is maybe a little too much topping/chocolate/pistachio on top of their dishes. I don’t particularly recommend the vanilla milkshake, it was not to my taste. Absolutely delicious crepes, friendly service. The food came suuuuper fast, even before the drinks. Fresh, hot crepes with delicious toppings (you can even create your own style crepe or waffle). Big portions, fair prices considering the very touristy area. Loved it and can recommend 100%.

TL;DR: THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE! We had dinner here and loved it. Their savory pancakes are insanely good (except for the "healthy" one) but my god the portions are ridiculously big. We were all hungry and none of us were able to eat more than half of our portions. We took the leftovers to go and had them on the beach the next day, but I doubt many people do, so I dread to imagine the amount of wasted food generated here, so -1 star for this. Even 60% of the portion would have been more than enough for anyone and I would've been happy to pay the same amount for it. I didn't think I'd ever say this, but please, make the portions a smaller. The service was friendly though it lacked any of that typical Greek friendliness. The prices were really good for what was offered. I strongly recommend eating here, but if you're having the savoury pancakes, just share one between two people.

Hands down the best creperie in town! The crepes are absolutely massive and bursting with delicious ingredients – every single bite is packed with flavor. Nothing is left empty! The prices are unbelievably good for what you get, and the service is just amazing – super friendly, fast, and genuinely happy to help. Can’t wait to come back!

You have to order pancake in the oven here. It is more than the best. Soft, fluffy and not sooo sweet. I mostly yelled for the first bite. I am pancake girl and I ate pancake whenever I traveled to. So I just my own judgement in this field. However I recommend you make/build your own crepe or pancake because the ones in menu may be quite sweet because of the toppings. Besides that, the portion is huge, so you might want to come there with empty stomach or order one to share.

Service and food here is great, I don't know how they do it when they're crazy busy but we were still served very fast. I'd recommend the chocolate, strawberry and biscuits crepe. It comes as a roll, but definitely needs sharing, this thing is a beast!

We came to Peperoncino Restaurant as a group of seven and had a fantastic dinner. I ordered the Rigatoni Pollo con Provola – the pasta was perfectly al dente, with tender chicken and a rich, creamy smoked provolone sauce. The hint of smoked paprika added a great depth of flavor. Others in our group had pizzas and fettuccine, and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Great food, welcoming service, and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Excellent Italian food! We had the tortellini and the gnocchi which were delicious. Very friendly staff! Great selection of starters and main course. Home made authentic Italian pasta and a great selection of Greek and Italian wines. We had a lovely dinner and will definitely come back.

We stumbled across this restaurant in the streets of Rethymno and absolutely loved it! The street was not too busy so it was very pleasant to sit in the street. The service was absolutely lovely, we received great advices for our orders and all in all great conversations. Now to the best part, the food! We shared 3 entrances, a Cretan salad which honestly was the best we tried in our vacation here. A cheese pie which as well was absolutely fabulous and an amazing shrimps saganaki. For main courses we had an absolutely delicious fish (red snapper, the best fish he ate according to my boyfriend) and an amazing pilaf bulgar lamb! We can only recommend this place if you’d like to try authentic delicious Cretan food. We both do not drink alcohol so we did not try the wine but they have a bar directly connected with the restaurant and it looks as well as the perfect match with the food.

One of the best restaurants we tried in Rethymno, more of a modern take on Greek cuisine. The calamari gyros was done in the style of a bowl, with Mexican inspired flavours and honestly a textural delight. Flavour profile was reminiscence of Mexican cuisine. One of the best dishes we’ve had in Crete! The carpaccio was also very well done with green onion oil, lime zest and salt. The veal cheeks were tender and flavourful served on top of creamy mash, also highly recommend.

Had a lovely first meal in Crete. Good variety and value for money. The dishes were all absolutely delicious! And generous portions. Such a stylish restaurant and service was really good. Meal were finishes with a complementary small desert. We had the Marinated Rooster , Calamari Giros, pastrami sandwich (with real hand cooked crisps to perfection) and lamb slow cooked.

I heard and read about Hasika from the moment I began planning our Crete Rethymno holidays or the week we stayed in the area. My oh my what a surprise it was, the food is truly extraordinary, so fresh and the Cretan fusion with modern cuisine is sumptuous. The team /staff are fantastic, their knowledge of wine selection with exactly the food we have ordered is a master in hospitality and restaurant business. Was recommend to eat here by my hotel. So glad they did, it's a gem of a place. The fact it was full of locals speaks to that. The food was incredible and presented in a way that would make a Michelin star restaurant jealous. Service was friendly and professional. Not the cheapest place to eat but you get what you pay for. Truly exceptional food in a wonderful setting. Friendly service too. The best meal we had all week and we ate out every night. I always thought squid rings were the same everywhere but these were in a different league. Sea bass fillet was sublime. Highly recommended.

Went to Ali Vafis garden after dinner for a drink. Stunning outdoor courtyard with lots of greenery, nice moody lights and chill tunes. Big cocktail menu with wine and beer selections. Super nice place for a drink once the sun goes down! Didn’t eat here but the menu look decent. Nice little haven after being on the bustling streets all day!

It is quite hidden to find at first but has the beautiful garden to have a nice view while eating your lunch or dinner. Because it is outside so I recommend to come for dinner after sunset for the most comfortable feeling. During lunch time, it is quite hot. We ordered Rooster and Traditional Cretan pasta skioufihta. Both are really good. The food definitely is out of our expectation in the better way. The staff is helpful and caring enough.

The atmosphere is great; the restaurant is located in a quiet back garden, making it very quiet. The garden is also beautifully decorated. The food is good and average, nothing special. The service staff didn't seem very motivated, which was a shame. I think there's definitely still a lot of potential for improvement in the service department.

Ali Vafi’s Garden is a beautiful spot in the heart of Rethymno’s Old Town where you can finally escape the busy streets and relax in a truly elegant setting. The garden itself is charming — lush greenery, atmospheric lighting, and a sense of calm that feels a world away from the crowds. They serve some of the better beers and well-made cocktails in town, perfect for a quiet evening out. We’ve had food here in the past — while I can’t recall every detail, it was definitely good and never disappointing. If you’re looking for a place with class, a relaxed vibe, and quality drinks, Ali Vafi’s Garden is absolutely worth a visit.

Atmosphere was very nice, quiet with an internal terrace. That was for the good part. (That’s the 2 stars) Service was excruciatingly slow and poor. For a salad and couple of sides, we had to wait over 30 minutes. Same for our coffees, although ordered as soon as we arrived, took 20 minutes to come. Not particularly pleasant experience with the server. Regarding the food , well, it’s the first and only time we went to a greek restaurant that had no tomatoes, which automatically removed a lot of options from the menu (special mention to the comment when asked if there was a possible replacement of the tomato by something in the same dish “what’s the point?”. Additionally this was only mentioned to us after ordered rather than when giving us the menu. Taking into account the wait time between visits from the service, it made the whole sitting a painfully slow experience. Food was relatively pleasant, but nothing special or extraordinary. The only part that went fast was for getting the bill, which was overpriced for the quality of the experience. Every other place we went to during our trip (over 10) was better. I personally would only come back for a talk around a coffee for a slow morning or afternoon, definitely would not recommend if you’re only there for a day or two.

Nothing to do with Crete. Very tired waiters waiting for the season to end. Even they tried their best to be nice and polite. A mutated Greek salad with capers a salty to death feta cheese. Greek salad with cherry tomatoes and normal tomatoes. No paprika no olives . Supposed pickled onions that you had to dig in it to find them. No salt and pepper in the tables No olive oil. The waiter was coming with an almost empty bottle of olive oil to drop it in what we had ordered. Waited 45 minutes for my plate when the place was not so busy when all the rest of the table was eating and since it took so long I thought would be something special . It reminded everything but not a Rooster and the mashed potato was far from a mashed potato. 4 stars only for the service since they really looked tired and they did all their best to be gentle and polite. After all was not a nice experience and didn't remind a cretan Hospitality.

Lovely place for a coffee. We came here in February when all the shops and cafes are quiet. The latte we had was very nice. The lady serving was very friendly and this is a lovely welcoming cafe with nice tables and chairs and plenty of seating just inside and outside. Will definitely return.

Its really tasty and has a nice location its also not expensive and has an adequate price. You lay 6€ for a big portion of Lokoumades (serving for two people)

When I say this ice cream is a delight and food for the gods, when it contains Angels hair it really is! I chose the traditional dish based I ice-cream called Kantaifi which is creamy vanilla, almond, honey and Angels hair this is a delightful mix of crunchy and creamy and the angels hair is a bit like a really sweet shredded wheat without the taste of cardboard. The Ice cream Parlour is quite central in the old town right next to the water fountain. The service is cheerful and quick and the staff are really friendly, you can even have a taste of one of the 40 different flavours! There's even a few chairs to sit and relax outside, this was my second visit made better by the fact that the ice cream is made from goats milk so fabulous for those who have issues with milk. Would recommend any day of the week.

I came to this restaurant and offered to buy anything, as my toddler son desperately needed to use the restroom. The unfriendly owner said no, didn’t realize I spoke Greek and proceeded to tell me to “Get out” in Greek. Do not recommend based on service alone. Plus not everything is homemade.

They offer a variety of desserts based on loukoumades. We tried the traditional version with honey and walnuts: fresh dough, quality honey (not always the case in places serving loukoumades), and just the right balance of everything. A great spot!

One of the best places within the whole area 🙌 We were there 3 times during the daytime. Absolutely lovely espresso based coffee, desserts and food itself ❤️ Service is also great, very welcoming and attentive staff. Came out to have brunch and was not disappointed! Food was so good, it had me wondering how I can improve my own cooking! The chicken was both flavorful and moist, with the eggs equally wonderful. Everything we got was great, can't wait to come back next year! 💖

As a Greek from the Peloponnese, I've never seen a place like this....the prices was so good for a place like this, the portions of the food was more than enough, which reminds me of the Real Greek food culture, the people on service was too professional and nice. But mostly I got amazed of the architecture design of the shop. And the taste of the cocktails? 🍸 was on another level... if I had the chance I would have gave you all the stars of the whole sky rather than only 5 stars. Good job guys im proud of you 👏

Delicious strawberry crepe. It was a large portion size. Great for breakfast or dessert. Paid 11 euros for strawberry crepe (6.30€) & flat white coffee (4.70€). Easy to walk to cafe. Service was very attentive. Lots of outdoor seating options.

Maria’s Home Cooking is special because it’s a family run business that really put a lot of love, flavor and tradition to their dishes. The Orzo and Chicken is one of my favorites but the Pasticcio rivals any Greek Grandmas. Everything is cooked fresh daily and ready to go when you are. A word of caution, go early, or call in your order and they will save it for you. Follow them on Facebook to see photos and names of their food. You can’t beat the average cost of 7.50 euro!

First stop in Rethymno discovered by chance! All dishes were very tasty, and many locals came to pick up food for takeaway.

Absolutely unexpectedly pleasant place, found it by chance. This is a family-run kitchen, and they cook just as deliciously as at home. Keep in mind, the portions here are huge — I recommend coming in the morning or early afternoon, so you have a chance to enjoy the full menu. You have to understand that this is a family kitchen: they cook, sell out, and if you’re late, it might be gone. Highly recommended for those on a budget.

Greatest traditional food! Very nice owners. They took us in the kitchen to see the day menus ( 10-12 different choices) . Our favourite lunch taverna. Very good prices!

We went there for breakfast and coffee. I really enjoyed that it had TV screens showing football matches. It's an accessible place with very kind staff!

Really nice place in terms of view and location and vibe. But food was absolutely not worth its price. The bread with tomato and cheese was basically stone hard with watery tomato goosh and the portions were a joke. Nothing wrong with the coffee but not worth the price. The waiters felt very amateurish and didnt even say anything to us when we came in.

Honestly, one of the top restaurants in Rethimno. Great food with a wide variaty, nice staff and fair prices. The establishment is very modern with a panoramic vieuw at the sea!

A very nice restaurant with a great athmosphere. We ordered chicken nuggets and a cheeseburger. The fries were very strangely seasoned but very good. I personally liked that they put a lemon in my glass when I ordered a coke. Nice portions and very affordable.

I cannot comment on food as they never came to take our order. First waitress left the menu and never came back to take orders. I wave other 2 waitresses they said ok but they also didn’t come. We had to leave basically.

We visited this patisserie almost every day during our holiday and especially enjoyed the small ice cream and the cheesecake. Both were outstanding, and we can only highly recommend this place!

Exceptional desserts, nice environment and friendly service. The Profiterole was delicious and not too sweet, exactly as I like it. The Vanille with caramelized almonds was creamy and crunchy! We liked it and we recommend it!

It is the best pastry shop in the town. Not so much variety if you don't like chocolate. Great home made biscuits and apple pie. It's a good option to have small version of the pastries so you can try them all. Little bit overpriced.

I recently stayed with my partner and we had the most incredible time. The staff are attentive and will go the extra mile to make your stay a memorable one. The views from the rooms with sea view are fantastic. Highly recommend paying extra for these. We stayed in the deluxe sweet and were blown away by how great the room was. The beach is a short walk away and you can use the facilities at their sister hotel, which is immediately opposite the beach. There are plenty of restaurants brach side and near the old town. The views from the balcony in the deluxe room were so good I decided to propose there! The staff were also great at helping me set up. The only downside I'd say is that the pictures don't do it justice!

Kyma Suites is a cozy boutique hotel very close to the old town of Rethymno. This is a big plus for fast exploring the vibes of this charming litte town. We liked very much the staff (always smilling, and ready to help). Also, the food was very good. Plenty of choices for the dinner (fish&seafood-grilled or oven dishes; fresh vegetables and fruits; tasty starters and sweets). The breakfast was also very good (poached eggs were great). Keep in mind that this is not a big AI(all-inclusive) hotel, where food quantity prevails over quality! Thus, the effort of selecting and using quality ingredients was present at Kyma, and the food&restaurant experience, in my opinion, is close to a 5* hotel. The room was spotless clean, and the sea view with the small balcony is a must (city view is definitely not so impressive). The size of the room is decent enough, although the bathroom is small (standard double). We expected to be more noise from the city at night, but surprisingly this was not an issue on a sea view room. For the beach, which is a shared one with Kriti hotel, it would be great if the management will consider bigger unbrellas (not much of a shade for the Cretan heat). All in all, Kyma Suites delivers a 4* room experience mixed with a 4-5* restaurant experience. We enjoyed it and recommend!

It's a small hotel but located in the heart of the city, near the nightlife and the beach. All the staff was amazing and we are considering coming again next year.

Had a fantastic three-night stay while we were in town for a wedding. The rooms are spacious and comfy (and AC works well, much needed after spending time on the beach!), bathroom facilities were top notch, and the staff was awesome. You have access to the beach at their sister property just down the road, as well as to the pool at the hotel. Breakfast was included each morning which was delicious with awesome staff, and the bar next door was great for a drink (and for ordering at the pool!). Would definitely stay there again.

We visited here for lunch. Gyros pitas were great - tender and flavorful meat, good pita with just the right balance of chew and softness. The sardines were a treat! Fresh and delicate and a quite a few on the plate (6) for the price. My wife had the moussaka which tasted homemade with love. Total bill was €38 (3x gyros pitas, moussaka special, sardines, 2x liter waters), which we felt was very good value. The staff also brought bread, croutons with tomato/garlic sauce as starters, and some ice cream pops at the end of the meal.

The food and the people are fantastic. The atmosphere here is so nice. We visited them multiple times and every time we are so happy to eat here. The staff and the owner Yannis ;) ehmm i mean nikos are sensational. Thank you guys we love you.

We found Mr Gyros Grill on our drive from Herakolion to Chania through Google Maps. The owner and waiter were very nice and the food was 10/10. They were very friendly and the food was amazing. We had the chicken gyros and falafel pita. Would highly recommend. At the end, they gave us free ice cream bars.

Seeing the words “Italian pizza” paired with such great reviews, I didn’t hesitate to step in and give it a try. I ordered the chicken pizza, and unfortunately, it was a real letdown. The cheese, tomatoes, and chicken were all incredibly bland—no distinct flavors at all. Honestly, you could get the same quality from any average pizzeria. I’m not saying it was terrible overall, but by Italian standards, it was definitely disappointing. The ingredients clearly weren’t authentic Italian products. They served the pizza on cardboard plates and didn’t check in to see if everything was alright, but that didn’t bother me much. What really mattered was the flavor—and instead of Italian quality, I ended up with something no better than a typical neighborhood pizza place.

Pretty good food, of course not like Italian but nice for the price, which is great. The atmosphere is really nice. There are many options. You order inside and they bring it to you. Three sizes for pizzas which is great, suits all group sizes. Barely any tables avalible but we found one fortunately. I got the gyros pizza and the pasta is the Luna. Fast service.

I can honestly say that I haven’t eaten a Pizza this good in a long time. We also tried out the pasta and it was delicious. The only issue with it is the lack of space to sit down, but in all honesty it’s because it is always full. (And i think people mostly go there to get take out). I would love the go there again someday.

Great spot if you are in need of a quick bite to eat. They have pizza slices to go which we found very handy. Pizza tasted fresh and tasty. Plenty of options to choose from. I’m sure if you chose to sit in it would be equally as nice.

Classic and favourite stop when visiting rethimno. Awesome food, fast service, very good prices and overall value! There are plenty options for all tastes and many vegetarian dishes. Stuff is very polite and helpful, so its a priority food stop! If you are into gyros, the pizza with gyros is a must try

We had a fast lunch at this pizza place. We just had margarita and pepperoni.. margarita was ok , pepperoni with BBQ it was tasty and a little bit spicy but not to much. Slice was big enough, with two slices you can be full I believe. We didn't try anything else so I can say only for their pizza that we tasted.

It’s got a fantastic view of the water. The waitress spoke good English and was very friendly. The food was disappointing - my roast chicken in lemon sauce was so dry I couldn’t eat much, but the potatoes were nice. My husband liked their veggie soup and the calamari. Very average place.

Pita Gyros - super great! Already miss this dish. You need to go here for local food and more local vibe. Everyone here was chill and relaxed, we like that in such places.

We came for dinner but this place was a bad choice for that. 4 people only got 2 menus to see, even though the waiter told everyone to bring their own. It was hard to get the attention of the waiters. Everyone else got the food at a different time, so it was boring to watch when one ate and the others watched! some of the dishes are big for the price and some are really small. The offers of the day, i.e. recommendations, especially small portions, but the price was also affordable. The food was tasty and good and points for that. Otherwise, the place is more fast food than designed for dinner or a shared lunch. Second time here was little bit better…. Still this is fast food restaurant 🙏 Because I got wrong pizza what I ordered they fix their mistake very fast 💪

This is a cozy and simple restaurant that serves all forms of comfort food from pasta to pizza to gyros. No trip to Crete would be complete without the obligatory gyro. I decided on the chicken gyro plate and with it being just shy of 9 euros, it has plenty of food to fill you up! Swing by, have a seat and either ask for a menu or order right away if you already know what you want!

Very nice restaurant near the main (next to the sea) road in Rethimno. There is some partial view to the sea (if sitting to the outside tables), and it has good view to a nice square where people are passing by. Logical prices and good portions. Kind stuff. Would recommend it.

The food was good, the prices were fair, and the portions were generous. The location was decent too, with a nice view over a square. However, I’m giving it 3 stars because the service left a lot to be desired. No one greeted us or said welcome when we arrived. The menus were more or less thrown on the table in a rush, and the overall reception and goodbye felt cold and impersonal. On top of that, one of us received the wrong dish. Good food, but the experience was let down by poor service.

Delicious and enormous gyro and souvlaki with pita. The mixed grill platter is huge. Excellent fast service. Two gyro with pita, mixed grill platter, water, lemon soda, and draft beer for 26 euro! Highly recommend.

Incredible chicken skewer pita. They were really good. I really recommend them. Also the place is really good and there is a nice atmosphere. Had a really great time there, you can take your time and it doesn’t feel « fast food ».

2 greek guys showed me this place 2 years ago, and the minute we got into Rethymno, I had to make this my first stop. I can't say enough good things, the quality speaks for itself! The food is absolutley delicious and authentic Greek food! I dont think you can go wrong on the menu! The chicken skewers, vegetable pita, spicy greek dip, baked feta, mixed salad, all 1000/10. The owners are so nice, and the servers are friendly and attentive! Very local place, and not filled with tourists! Let's keep it that way 😍

The restaurant offers a nice selection of Greek pitas and a few other dishes. The quality of the meat is definitely a highlight – fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful. That said, the overall taste of the pitas doesn’t fully capture the authentic Greek experience and feels like it’s missing a little something. I might come back or recommend it if you can’t find a better option nearby, but it wouldn’t be my first choice for truly great Greek food.

One of the best grill bars in Rethymno! The presentation is fantastic and the quality of the meat is outstanding — the Black Angus is simply the best I’ve tried here. The portions are generous, the salads are fresh, and the side dishes perfectly complement the main courses. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere make the whole experience even better. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic flavors and top-quality grilling in town!

I ordered two chicken souvlakia to go and ended up with 3 in the bag. I realised after that on my receipt I had paid for 3. I'm not complaining, more for me! The food was alright. The chicken was seasoned and the pita was really good. I particularly liked that their potatoes were round. It was an alright souvlaki and I think maybe next time I would eat in the restaurant. There was a good atmosphere in there.

We have been here before, the food was good before, unfortunately this time we didn't have any. This time we arrived and chose a table suggested by the staff members but moments later they arrived and tried to insert two other people on the table that we sat, telling us to move on to another table. There are many places around with a better atmosphere and friendlier staff.

Very nice server, Mike, the son of the owner, made us feel at home immediately. We decided to have grilled sardines, Cretan salad bread and wine. All was very good. We didn’t do the lunch special as it looked a little limited. The seaside location is to die for. Note the bread is made in their pizza oven and is quite delicious.

We stayed two days in rethymno, it was the best pizza we ate... Seafood pizza and prosciutto pizza... definitely I will visit it again... Great view of the sea too... you can even see a little from the colours of the sunset while you have your dinner.

It is nice restaurant to try. We had salad with chicken (forgot the name), quite nice and not too heavy for lunch. We also had baked eggplant with feta cheese which you should give it a try! If there is any free place, seat next to the water with beautiful view

Mike and his brother were fantastic waiters, friendly and attentative without being pushy or upselling our meal. Fish tasted fresh, Mike's mother's home made moussaka was especially great, and portions were generous at a very reasonable price. Finally the location is stunning, right next to the sea with a perfect view of passing boats and the setting sun. Highly recommended.

We ordered the moussaka, which we never do since Georges mother makes this at home we felt like we were cheating. Well it was even better, sorry mom 😬. We dove into in and remembered later to take a picture, seriously it was amazing. The spices alone was mouth watering.

Very expensive place, we asked for two crepes, it costed us 9€. We asked if we could eat them outside of the shop and the girl said yes, but when the crepes arrived, she told us we had to leave because eating there would have had an extra price. So we looked for a place to eat this crepes but once reached a bench, we found out that we werent given anything to eat, not even a fork! If you can, avoid it.

My girlfriend and I wanted to spend a cozy dinner a bit farther away from all the noise. This place was just perfect as it was still close to the main road and the beach but without all the noise and the people. It also feels like they put a lot of effort to make the place charming with a nice retro style that we both enjoyed. There’s also a nice looking second floor that we could see from outside. As for the food, it was just what we were looking for. We received burgers with quality ingredients unlike industrial ones such as the ones found at McDonald’s. On top of that, the vegetarian meat was really good. The burgers were made with effort and happily filled our stomachs. It also came with fries which proved to be more than enough to fill us up. All of this for a really good price. To complement all of this, the service was great and we felt really welcomed. In conclusion, if you want some good quality burgers in a relaxing place, just go there.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely divine! You can see and feel with your taste buds that the food is prepared carefully, they care about their burgers, and you can feel that honesty in every bite. I recommend it to every eater who likes a good hamburger - they have the best ones here!

This place serves up some of the best burgers I have ever tasted! The flavour of the patties were so unique. There is a good selection of burgers available and there are labelled veggie/vegan options too. The portions are amazing and it’s really good value for money. The place has a great, relaxed atmosphere and the people working there are really friendly. We liked the place so much we went twice in the space of a week, once for dinner and once for lunch.
