Maido is an upscale and modern restaurant that offers a unique blend of local cuisine with a Japanese influence. It has been recognized as one of the top restaurants globally, known for its Nikkei dishes which combine Peruvian and Japanese flavors. Chef Mitsuharu "Micha" Tsumura's innovative creations have earned Maido top honors on San Pellegrino's Best Latin American Restaurants list for three consecutive years.
There are truly no words to fully capture this experience. It exceeded every expectation. The service was impeccable, and the presentation was extraordinary. Each course had its own unique display. The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was so nice. One of my favorite details was that for each course, the waiter brought a small basket with sample vegetables and fruits used in the dish, allowing us to see, touch, and understand exactly what we were eating. Since reservations are difficult to secure, we were only able to book seats at the bar, and I am so glad we did. Sitting there made the experience even more special. The chefs shared stories about the restaurant, about Micha, and about their own lives, making the evening feel intimate and personal. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience, and I completely understand why they are ranked the #1 restaurant in the world. I hope to return one day, and when I do, I will absolutely choose to sit at the bar again.
Jeanny P — Google review
Legitimately one of the best meals we have ever had. Every detail was done so well. An incredible variety of flavors and techniques used across Peruvian and Japanese cuisines. Service was excellent, drinks were delicious (Piscos are the go to). We were here for 3 hours but it never felt too long. Highly recommend coming in if you can get a reservation, but also worth calling them to see if they have a sushi bar seat open as well (more likely earlier in the day when they open). Fantastic all around.

After being on the waiting list for a while, we decided to try our luck as a walk in customer. We were so fortunate that there was a slot and we were able to have an early dinner. As the 2025 number one restaurant in the world, we had high expectations. The staff were professional, friendly and explained clearly how we should eat each dish to get the best culinary experience. Each dish gave an amazing taste that is hard to describe and it is no wonder that this is the top restaurant in the world. All dishes were amazing, but my favourite was the scallop with urchin.
Wing C — Google review
We visited the restaurant for the Maido Experience after it got given the #1 Restaurant in the World Award and were not disappointed at all. It was a truly unique experience from the moment we walked in until we left, from the staff greeting until the last goodbye. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, with exquisite table setting and plates. The dining experience was phenomenal, with 14 different wonderful bites to try, each one with an amazing taste, texture, presentation, combination of flavours and of course a wonderful introduction by our waiter. It took us about 2 hours to go through each dish, with the perfect timing in between dishes for you to eat, savour, take in, enjoy and discuss with your friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and can’t wait to come back, next time maybe to focus on a dish or two. We consider ourselves very fortunate for having the opportunity to experience something like this. Thank you Misha for making it possible. ❤️

Maido, the Lima-based restaurant recently crowned the World's Best Restaurant 2025, offers a spectacular culinary journey through Nikkei cuisine—a fusion of Japanese techniques and vibrant Peruvian ingredients. Reviews generally describe it as an unforgettable experience that blends refinement, aesthetics, and taste to create pure emotion. The tasting menu, known as the "Nikkei Experience," is highly recommended and presents a continuous surprise of flavors and textures. Signature dishes include the 50-hour slow-cooked beef short rib (Asado de Tira) and various exquisite sushi and sashimi selections. Diners praise the impeccable presentation and the high quality of ingredients, with many dishes considered culinary masterpieces. Service at Maido is often described as outstanding and attentive, with knowledgeable staff (some speaking multiple languages, including Japanese) who enhance the dining experience. The ambiance is a blend of elegant and casual, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, a few recent reviews mention potential inconsistencies, such as dishes being overly salty, service feeling rushed at times, or issues with wine pairings. Despite the high price point, the general consensus is that dining at Maido is a worthwhile indulgence for food enthusiasts visiting Lima. Reservations are difficult to obtain and should be made well in advance.
Mr N — Google review
The first three appetizers were decent, but starting from the Cebiche, everything became overly salty — surprisingly so for a restaurant ranked World’s Best Restaurant No. 1. As someone who enjoys fine dining, I appreciate when chefs use seasoning to elevate the natural flavours of high-quality ingredients. Unfortunately, here the salt seemed to take the lead role. The toro, marinated in soy sauce, was far too salty. We shared our feedback with the staff and requested the remaining dishes to be less salty, but the “Costa Sur” fried seabass that followed was instead overly sweet while still carrying excessive saltiness. In addition, the lighting with the thick hemp-rope ceiling décor made the ambience feel dim and heavy, and the air circulation was poor, making the dining room rather stuffy — not ideal for such a highly rated fine dining experience. I’ve dined at multiple Michelin restaurants, 1 to 3 stars, and this experience fell short of expectations. The chef team should really review the seasoning balance and overall dining comfort. This was meant to be one of the highlights of my Peru trip, but sadly, it turned into a disappointment.
Vian C — Google review
Excellent experience, no wonder it received the #1 award in the world! 14 course meal perfectly designed with a variety of complimentary flavors. Beautiful presentation and impeccable service. We enjoyed everything we tried! Make sure you reserve well in advance or get on the waitlist.

How is this number one in the world? Did these people lose their taste buds in 2025? The meal started out okay but nothing spectacular. Could easily name 100 restaurants that were better than Maido that I’ve eaten at all over the world. They tried to copy Central in bringing in the raw ingredients to the table, but it’s a totally different vibe. The sushi rice was so poorly cooked, even just touching it with the chopstick I could tell it wasn’t right. It was hard and starchy… how can you mess up something so essential in Japanese cuisine? The glass noodles were all stuck together and gummy. And the dessert was just atrocious… chorizo flavored ice cream with a soup of lemongrass flavored soy milk. I’m sorry but it made me want to throw up. Such a disappointment all around.

Research foundation
Central, located in Miraflores Lima, is a renowned restaurant owned by chef Virgilio Martinez. It stands out for its unique approach to haute cuisine, focusing on Peruvian biodiversity and using ingredients from different altitudes and regions of the country. The restaurant has been consistently ranked among the top 50 restaurants globally and was awarded first place in 2023 for its innovative culinary concepts. Central also prioritizes sustainability and conscious use of natural resources.
Let's start out by saying this was a dining experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. The food was interesting, and sometimes over the top, but I understood what they were trying to do. Central is experimenting with ingredients, and they're trying to use every piece of every food available. This is to be admired. I have to be frank. Some dishes were excellent and others were just weird, but the overall experience was memorable, especially the service. They have been ranked 'the best restaurant in the world' a few years ago, and some would think this 'allows' them to have an attitude. This is precisely the opposite of what I experienced. From the moment I walked through the entrance, I felt very welcome, even though I was a solo diner. From the tour of the garden to the presentation of my table, to the stories behind every course (including the local drinks/wines), every moment of my dining experience was fantastic. The team even allowed me to take some photos of the kitchen. I felt like a VIP, even though I am sure I was just an average guest. So the food. Some dishes were among the best I have ever had, while others just didn't work for me. But over 13 courses and maybe 30-35 individual dishes, this was to be expected. This is not a cheap experience, but if you can afford it, you will not regret dining here.
Keith M — Google review
Same as Maido, I left rather dissapointed food-wise. There was nothing wrong about it, but at the same time, there was nothing special about it. The experience on the other hand, was quite unique. Also a beautiful garden! One more issue I had was that the tip is not included, which I would honestly expect given the already very high price.

What an experience! From the warm welcome to the goodbye, everything was absolutely top-notch. Due to a cancelled flight I missed my original booking and had to cancel last minute, but the staff at Central were incredibly helpful and managed to move my reservation to another day for lunch without any issues. The journey through Peru was amazing, and I tasted flavors I didn’t even know existed! The presentation & plating was one of the best I have ever seen and the wine & non-alcoholic pairing was amazing! All the staff were extremely warm and welcoming but Arianna made our lunch experience extra special! We will definitely be back. :)

The Best Dining Experience in the World Central is, without a doubt, the number one restaurant on the planet. The entire experience—from the storytelling behind each dish to the flawless execution—is unforgettable. Virgilio Martínez, the visionary chef and owner, is one of the most creative talents in the culinary world today. His ability to take you on a journey through Peru’s ecosystems, altitudes, and ingredients is nothing short of genius. Every course is a revelation. The tasting menu is a beautifully choreographed journey through Peru’s diverse landscapes—from the Amazon to the Andes to the Pacific. Dishes like “Extreme Altitude” and “Amazonian Water” are not only exquisite in flavor, but also rooted in deep cultural and ecological meaning. The presentation is stunning, and each plate tells a story. The service and coordination were absolutely perfect, making the entire experience seamless. The liquor pairing (maridaje) was outstanding—thoughtfully curated to elevate each dish. Dining at Central is not just a meal—it’s a profound, inspiring experience. Truly the best I’ve ever had. Make a reservation—you’ll remember it for the rest of your life

This is a fabulous experience. They are so meticulous with every detail. It was wonderful to watch the bustle of the open kitchen, like a show. All the dinner ware and serving plates/dishes were so delicate and beautiful. And I love their theme of sourcing food from all altitudes in Peru. Most of the ingredients I have never heard of or tried before, so it was really intriguing. The service and atmosphere was definitely fit for a number one restaurant of the world. But I personally feel the food fell a little short. There’s prob a reason why every part of different animal and plants are not eaten, because it doesn’t taste great. But Central wanted to incorporate all parts into the meal. In the end it has the taste great and a few dishes did fall short. We also had a server who did not speak English very well and I couldn’t understand her explain the dish.
Jing Y — Google review
And finally Central. The flagship restaurant of legendary Peruvian Chef Virgilio Martínez. The restaurant is known for its contemporary interpretation of Peruvian cuisine using modern techniques. Each dish represents a specific Peruvian ecosystem, defined by altitude, ranging from below sea level to the high Andes. Central was crowned the world’s best restaurant for many years. The tasting menu typically features 12 courses. The dishes were “academic”; beautifully crafted but not always memorable in flavour cohesiveness. The experience is experimental with lot of effort in carving visually appealing dishes but the final outcome is confusing. One leaves without understanding what food did he have. The dining room is bright, minimalist, and open, with stone tables, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an open kitchen
Habib M — Google review
“Dining at Central is not just a meal, it’s a journey through Peru’s ecosystems. From the moment we entered, the experience felt like visiting a living museum: the garden and entrance are filled with plants, trees, and ingredients that later appear on the menu. We were welcomed with warm towels, seated at a beautiful table designed with privacy in mind, and immediately noticed how attentive the service was. Every course came with its own unique cutlery and a small theatrical demonstration – sometimes a book with QR codes explaining the plants, sometimes an entire octopus or stones representing the Andean landscape. Even small gestures, like discreetly wiping drops of water on the table or changing napkins when leaving the table or before desserts, showed remarkable attention to detail. The 12-course tasting menu was extraordinary. Each dish represents a different altitude of Peru, from the depths of the sea to the highest Andes. Highlights included the Warm Sea Current with lobster and razor clam, Rainforest Connection with Amazonian fish, and the spectacular desserts inspired by the Sacred Valley and 100% cacao. Every plate felt like a masterpiece, both in taste and presentation. Service, storytelling, and culinary creativity are perfectly intertwined at Central. It’s educational, emotional, and delicious at the same time – an unforgettable dining experience and truly deserving of being named the best restaurant in the world.”

Astrid y Gastón is a refined restaurant that has become a classic in Lima's culinary scene. Founded by chef Gaston Acurio and pastry chef Astrid Gutsche, the restaurant opened its doors in 1994 and played a significant role in the revival of Peruvian gastronomy. Housed in a spacious 17th-century palace with modern minimalist decor, it offers regional seafood and meat dishes along with an extensive selection of cocktails and wines.
Astrid y Gastón is hands down my favourite restaurant in Lima. I have to come here each time I'm visiting. They have all classic peruvian dishes, but with a little twist. These are the better versions of already tasty dishes. I especially love banana and fried egg extension of lomo saltado. The seating area in the middle is beautiful and combination with the music makes unforgettable atmosphere. Reservation is recommend (reservations are usually seating indoor, so not in the middle with the tree). 5 out of 5.

Make sure you reserve your table in advance as this restaurant fills up even on weekdays. I absolutely loved eating here. The restaurant several different eating areas on different levels, so it does not seem as crowded or full as it really is. The table are spaced far enough not to feel claustrophobic and the overall volume of the restaurant is good enough to be able to conduct a conversation with your table mates without shouting. All, absolutely all, the cocktails, dishes, appetizers, and desserts we ordered were delicious. Service was very attentive, and helpful. Or server spoke fluent English and was able to describe it dishes perfectly. This restaurant is a must when traveling to Lima
Leon A — Google review
I was able to be seated by myself at the bar right when the restaurant opened for the night without a reservation. The server was very helpful in suggesting things for me to try and how much food would fill me up. Staff, including the bartenders, were all very well informed about the menu, ingredients and their origins. I liked the decorations and the fact that you are dining in open air. Everything that I did order was tasty, unique, and presented very well with beautiful, colorful plating. Dishes came out quickly so I was able to order one or two things at a time and order more as I needed. The cocktails were also inventive and well executed, a bit boozy but very rounded and tasty. The suckling pig taco that I had stood out, but I would get everything that I tried again. Living in an area where there are many Michelin star restaurants, I would say that this place could have 1 star and I would feel it was appropriate. I like how straightforward Peruvian food is and I felt this restaurant did a great job at having a lot of the classic flavors in an elevated way.
Anastasia L — Google review
This restaurant is in open air space, I mean the inside space is just as cold as sitting on the outside spaces. If I’ve known that I would have wear a warmer jacket to dinner instead of just a dress shirt. Few of us in our group were cold during the whole lovely dinner. The interior space is very pretty and sitting by the kitchen was a bonus, we get to see them cook and do magic with our food. All I remember was the food was excellent but I was cold.
Jesse L — Google review
This building is jaw droppingly beautiful, especially in the evening when bathed in the splendor of countless candles and dim lights, simply gorgeous! Food was delicious, loved everything I ordered especially the small bites. I rarely care about atmosphere, but this place is something special! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Lima!
Casey Z — Google review
Service and ambiance was 10/10. Personally I thought the food was ok. For this price point I wanted to be blown away however I was not. Don't get me wrong, it wasnt bad by any means. But wasnt spectacular taste. Probably would bot return but this would be a great spot for a date. My favorite bite was the cuy appetizer bite. That was a 9/10.
Thiago P — Google review
Looks great but doesn’t deliver. Waiter was 45 mins to take drinks order and put on table. One small bread basket for 4 persons, so all couldn’t taste the bread variations. The attention of staff is oriented towards locals. The atmosphere is okay on the pictures but there is a small smell of sewage. The seating is outside so it is cold and windy - sat with jackets. The food is okay but the waiter did not explain the dishes when places mostly just put in front of you with both hands… didn’t ask how food tasted. All in all okay experience but would not recommend. Peber tune tartare was only tasting of peber. Scallops was okay but dish not balanced, and the dumplings came cold and was quite tasteless. The dessert was great but wanted two different scopes of ice cream- language barrier was present.
Joachim L — Google review
Full course was great - not sure why there is no Michellin guide in Lima but this would for sure be a 1 or eventuality 2 star experience. Very good service, good food quality, tasty - nice house too - looks like a colonial palace. We also need reservation for it.

Isolina is a humble eatery that pays homage to hardworking Peruvian women, particularly the owner's mother, Isolina Vargas. The restaurant serves traditional homemade dishes that were once closely guarded secrets of Lima's mothers.
Tried tonight after reading the good reviews. We turned up after 17:30 without reservation (on Sundays they close at 19) and got a table upstairs. We ordered the Ají de Gallina and the Seco de Asado de Tira con Arroz y Frijoles. Both were excellent. The portions are super generous: we had a choice between a personal and a sharing portions - please trust me and stick with the personal, we're keen eaters but two dishes could easily have fed 3 people! I had a Pisco Sour, also excellent albeit extremely expensive at S/42 each - that's completely unjustified as I had the same at nearby Canta Rana for S/28. Service was fast and professional & the ambiance lovely. Highly recommend you try this place & I would definitely return. However, if it's ceviche you're after, I would suggest Canta Rana nearby for more choice and better price points.

This is lovely slightly posh restaurant with traditional peruvian dishes. Service was nice, and the location is lovely. The food was excellent and generous. I would strongly recommend to make a reservation (we were lucky and couple of minutes later the queue started to form outside). I would come again.

I went alone and put my name on the list, then came back an hour later and got seated. Unfortunately, the table I was given was awkward and not very comfortable. The service felt purely transactional: they took my order, brought the food, never checked in to see if I liked it, and then asked for a tip. The crispy fish sandwich was very crunchy and salty but lacked depth of flavor. Even with mayo, it felt dry and unbalanced. The beef dish had tender meat, but it was also quite salty, and the fries in the sauce made it feel oily and heavy. On the plus side, the portions were generous. The experience wasn’t terrible, but for the hype around this place, it felt overrated and underwhelming.

An authentic experience in Lima both for food and a friendly atmosphere. Most of the food can be shared by two people and the main dishes by an entire family! They have a dark lager! It’s a local beer, Cusqueña Negra, and I recommend it for those who like dark beer. Diet Coke here is Coke Sin Azucar (Coke with no sugar). Yes, they have a full bar. So you can get your pisco sour and ceviche at this place. We were blessed to have Yul as a server and he was very patient with us. He explained every dish and even had good recommendations for us. We’re not big eaters so it was very helpful So we don’t waste food. He helped us share our dishes to the next table since it was too much and we didn’t want it to go to waste. Señor Maximo and Señorita Ariana by the door helped us get seated at the second floor. It was quieter and you can relax a lot more than seeing the waiting crowd downstairs. Definitely a must when you’re in Barranco!

A wonderful dining experience! We chose this restaurant based on previous reviews, and it certainly lived up to expectations. We shared an entree and a main between two, as previous reviews indicated that portion sizes were generous — and indeed they were. The dishes ordered were tantalising and full of flavour. The pisco sour was also generous (and strong) in comparison to what I've tried back home! Could not fault a thing — food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent.

Absolutely incredible. Service was outstanding. Food is amazing. Pisco Punch - 5/5 Cebiche Pulpo - 5/5 Lomo Saltado - 5/5 Suspiro Clasico - 5/5 Our server was super friendly and had great recommendations. The pisco punch was huge! Very tasty. The cebiche was fresh and delicious. Lomo was incredible. Amazing flavors and the steak was so juicy and tender. Perfectly cooked. The dessert was outstanding. One of the best desserts I have ever had. Super flavorful and creamy. Indescribable. Phenomenal place.

Prices are high ,but the quality is poor. Either lots of salt or just a simle dish like seviche over priced as something gourmet. Cocktail was good 10/10. Our services was poor, looked like we disturbed waitress.

Restaurant
Kjolle is a recent addition to Lima's fine dining scene, created by Pia Leon, the wife and business partner of Virgilio Martinez. Situated in the same area as Central, Kjolle offers a more relaxed atmosphere on its sunny terrace. The restaurant serves exquisite dishes that blend ingredients and flavors from across Peru, available à la carte or as an 8-course tasting menu with South American wine pairings.
I went here in july 2025 and they have upped their game. I can see they are going for number 1 and they are not messing around. Great from the moment you walk into the reception. Food is fantastic and the entire concept is a theatrical production. Highly recommend
Sam F — Google review
From the moment I walked in, the service was nothing short of phenomenal — exactly what I expected from a place of this caliber. The ambiance strikes a unique balance: an eclectically modern aesthetic with a spacious, open vibe. It’s worth noting that the openness extends to the kitchen sounds as well; whether the clatter and chatter enhance or disrupt your experience really depends on personal preference. The presentation of the dishes was absolutely stunning — again, no surprise there. Every plate felt meticulously crafted, and the wine and alcoholic drink pairings were thoughtfully curated, subtly yet meaningfully elevating the overall experience. Unfortunately, the taste was where things fell short. While everything was undeniably fresh and offered some intriguing, exotic notes, the flavors didn’t quite deliver the journey I was hoping for. Each dish felt balanced on its own, but as a whole, the tasting experience was flat, lacking the complexity and excitement that would make each bite memorable. In my judgment, this is exactly what I would expect from a tasting menu. Despite the outstanding service and atmosphere, I can’t fully recommend the culinary experience here. At this level, when everything else is raised so high, the flavors should be the true standout — and sadly, they just weren't.
Lo V — Google review
A complete dining experience! The meal was simply incredible with highlights of duck, lobster and slow braised cow rib. The final dessert and chocolate lab tour were amazing! Worth every bit of time during the 3 hour dinner… a must while in Lima!

We had an unforgettable dining experience at Kjolle. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out — a warm welcome in the garden, friendly conversation, and even a short introduction about the building before being guided to our table. The ambiance is minimal yet elegant: wooden and marble tables without cloths, spacious seating that ensures privacy with clever dividers, and a high wooden ceiling that creates both warmth and openness. Even small details, like individual bag stools and the variety of cutlery presented with each course, reflect thoughtful design. The service was attentive and seamless. Every staff member spoke excellent English, and small gestures made a big difference — pausing service when someone left the table, resetting napkins before dessert, and even escorting guests to the restroom. Hygiene was handled with grace, like using tweezers to place napkins. These touches show a world-class standard of care. As for the menu, every dish was both beautiful and delicious. Highlights for us included: • Corvina and Clams: interactive and flavorful, ending with a delicate broth. • Duck with Madre de Dios Nut and Sea Urchin: perfectly balanced, even for someone who usually avoids sea urchin. • Many Tubers: a celebration of Peru’s roots, with a storytelling element when the sachapapa plant was brought to our table. • Lobster with Charapita Chili and Cecina: an unexpected but harmonious combination. • Cow Rib: slow-cooked for 16 hours, rich and deeply satisfying, a perfect main course crescendo. The bread and honey butter at the start set a warm tone, while the desserts were a show in themselves — multiple creations inspired by cacao and Amazon fruits, visually stunning and varied in taste and texture. We also loved the thoughtful gift: a small art booklet pairing each dish with a piece of modern artwork, making the experience truly memorable. In total, the meal took around 1 hour 45 minutes — perfectly paced, never rushed, never dragging. Kjolle is not just about food; it is about storytelling, culture, and hospitality at the highest level. Every detail, from design to service rituals, reflects Pia León’s vision. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lima — this restaurant is a destination in itself.

Kjolle left us with mixed feelings. We received a warm welcome and overall good service, but I would have expected to be asked for drinks and have them served before the first course arrived. Instead, the first course came while we were still waiting to order drinks. Some dishes were excellent, but others felt like a hit or miss. Overall, we didn’t experience the explosion of flavors we had at Mérito earlier that week; but it was still an interesting experience

Astonishing Gastronomic Experience in Lima – Worth Every Penny Experiencing the gastronomy in Lima was truly astonishing — from breakfast to dinner, the city’s food culture amazed me. One highlight of our trip was dining at the #9 ranked restaurant in the world, where reservations must be made at least a month in advance. Located in a charming second-level bungalow with an open kitchen concept, the ambiance immediately set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. The meal began with a warm house-made bread served with a specially prepared herb butter — it was so good I couldn’t stop eating it. Then came the corvina fish and clam sashimi, seasoned in a bright citrus sauce and topped with sweet potato and white quinoa. It was refreshingly light and an excellent way to start the dinner. Next was the sea urchin prepared two ways. I especially loved the nutty-flavored preparation; the other, while flavorful, had a punchy sauce that slightly overpowered the delicate taste of the uni. We then enjoyed a unique dish featuring a medley of Peruvian ingredients like yuca, olluco, and shachappa, all brought together with a specially prepared nut-based sauce. It was both unusual and delicious. The scallops were served in a strong citrus-based sauce — a bit too sour for my liking — but the trio of scallop preparations, especially one with a jelly-like texture packed with umami, showed great creativity. The lobster dish was fantastic, enhanced by a rich crab oil extract that added deep umami. I also enjoyed the fried tempura greens, made with local Peruvian herbs — a clever and satisfying twist. For mains, I had the pork belly, which was perfectly cooked with just the right tenderness, and paired beautifully with a broth that elevated the dish. The ribs, however, were underwhelming — they tasted mostly of salt, lacking in spice or complexity. Dessert didn’t quite hit the mark for me, though that may be personal preference as I’m not a big dessert person. Special mention to our waiter and sommelier, Jerry, who provided excellent service. He let us sample various drinks — wines, mocktails, and cocktails — all thoughtfully paired. This dinner was not just a meal; it was a true culinary journey through Peruvian flavors and ingredients. The experience, the service, and the creativity of the dishes made it absolutely worth every penny.

Kjolle, is chef Pía León’s first independent venture. She rose to fame as the head chef of Central, which was named The World’s Best Restaurant in 2023. Kjolle means a high altitude Andean tree. The restaurant offers both à la carte and tasting menus. The food is excellent and meticulously prepared without compromising on the substance. Service was very polished.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Unforgettable Dining Experience in Lima” Our evening at Kjolle was truly extraordinary. From the very beginning, even at the reservation stage, the language used was polite, clear, and warm; and as soon as we stepped into the restaurant, we were welcomed with both warmth and professionalism. The ambiance was both impressive and calming, with details that evoked the nature of Peru. Throughout the menu, the journey from the Pacific coast to the Andes and then into the depths of the Amazon was conveyed clearly and harmoniously in every dish. Especially the corvina & clams and the duck & sea urchin dishes were outstanding. The beverage pairings (líquidos) were just as creative as the dishes; the Amazon fruits and Andean herbs brought to life in each glass made the experience truly unique. The final dessert with cacao, copoazú, and macambo felt like a genuine gift from Peru. Overall, Kjolle exceeded my expectations in every way. I experienced a meeting of sincerity, creativity, and flavor. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable gastronomic journey in Lima. 🌿✨

Fine dining restaurant
Rafael, located in Lima and Bogota, is a highly acclaimed restaurant known for its modern Peruvian-Italian cuisine with Nikkei influence. Chef Rafael Osterling has skillfully combined diverse culinary influences to create a menu featuring delectable dishes such as Galician roasted octopus, roasted corn ravioli, and grilled confit lobster. The restaurant in Lima is particularly praised for standing out in the foodie city with its impressive offerings.
My visit to Rafael was full of great expectations as in all the new places I visit to eat. Reviews of Rafael are positive and negatives, and should be taken understanding that you are going to a Chefs restaurant, you are going to taste and eat food that has been meticulously created for a select type of patrons. Understanding this, I may say that Chef Rafael and his restaurant have accomplished something rare, exquisite and different that you usually do not see in fine dining in Peru. The food, his team, carefulness and little details are top notch. I highly recommend this place for connoisseurs, it’s expensive but it’s great.

The food, referring to the taste was good in general, no complaints on that part, but the wait between the plates was too long. In top of that you must now that you will have to order multiple courses to be satisfied, because the portions are quite small so go with time. About the prices, in my opinion, they have great plates which deserve the high cost, but there’s others that are quite average, not worth it.

Rafael delivers on service, ambiance, and cocktails, the lighting and music set the tone perfectly. Food is good but feels overpriced compared to Mayta, and it doesn’t spark the same excitement. Still, desserts are excellent and the overall experience is polished and enjoyable

A must visit spot with a great ambiance. This definitely feels like fine dining! Warm fresh bread to start and a great drinks list. A small food menu but all worth trying. The scallops are a must and a signature dish. Loved the special of the Crudo and then steak main.

This is supposedly rank 19th out of the top 50 restaurants in South America. We made our reservation 45 days in advance. To be honest our roasted pork belly, squid and few other dishes were good but I missed the magic dust (whatever that is). Maybe we have to get the tasting menu or wine pairing to get the full experience? Our waitress was professional but feels like she’s tired of us tourists and seems bored.

We stopped by and so glad we did! Juan was incredible. He created all of the cocktail recipes and they were amazing. He was so kind and showed us the beauty of pisco! Joaquin was very helpful and attentive as well. I wish we lived closer to this place, I would be there every day if I could!

The bar area is very nicely decorated and the cocktail I had was great (el capitan). The ceviche was nice but the crab pasta was just fine in my opinion. Overall the food was okay, but for the price point there are definitely better options elsewhere.

Come to Rafael for an art-filled, elevated atmosphere, attentive service, and deftly executed seafood-forward Peruvian-Italian fusion. I came here for my birthday lunch and it was my personal favorite over some other fine dining spots I tried around the city (did not make it to Maido up the street, but that’s in another price category!) Don’t skip the bread basket. It’s an assortment of delicious warm goodness. Ours came with whipped goat cheese, butter, and tomato jam. The scallop appetizer (scallops in lemon butter) is an absolute must-order and nothing short of sublime. We ordered two pasta mains, and while the duck ragu lacked depth of flavor and the portion was a bit small, the stracciatella-filled pasta with prawns, peas, and a light cream sauce was a winner. The dessert menu was also an absolute highlight and you absolutely must save room for dessert. It was my birthday so they gave me one dessert on the house and we also ordered one of the most mind-blowing desserts I’ve ever had: cherimoya royale which consisted of - from bottom to top: custard apple mousse, praline, a flambéed custard apple slice, custard apple sorbet, enrobed in custard apple foam. The combination of great execution, the balance of complexity and simplicity, and the outstanding service and atmosphere makes this a worthwhile stop on any Lima itinerary!

La Mar Cevichería Peruana, a seafood temple founded by Gaston Acurio, is a must-visit spot in Lima to savor the country's national dish, ceviche. The restaurant boasts a stylish design and attracts trendy locals and tourists alike. It's best to visit during lunchtime as it follows the Peruvian tradition of not serving ceviche at night.
Definitely a super popular spot in Lima. Went there a bit passed noon and the house was already full. Food was amazing! I got the grilled half octopus and it was delicious and tasty! One of the best octopuses I have had so far. My friend got pasta and she enjoyed it as well. Also tried the starter fried empanadas with seafood filling, it was very good! Overall a great place and definitely a MUST go if you are visiting Lima.

Amazing decor, very beautiful with extremely friendly host/ staff. Mario, our waiter was absolutely amazing. He was so attentive and very good recommending dishes and explaining in detail everything. Our food was exceptional. For starters we were given this amazing chips with amazing sauces. The green one was my favorite and the corn was so amazing and addicting. Then we ordered the trio ceviche. It was so fresh and beautifully represented and then we had the grilled octopus which was simply amazing. I would definitely go back and recommend going there if you visiting Lima.

The atmosphere is very lively and full of energy! Super fresh seafood, I like that they have lots of options that are small bite sized plates, and i tried a bunch of different things, all delicious! You could easily spend a few hours here with friends drinking cocktails and having a slow lunch.

Flor was our server and she was incredible! With a menu as large as this it was a bit difficult to decide what I wanted when it all looked so good however Flor took us through the menu and explains every dish while providing recommendations of her own. When we arrived they sat us down in the waiting area for a very short bit and provided a complimentary snack for us as well. The drinks were sublime, the food was out of this world. 10/10 would definitely go again!!

If you are visiting Lima, Peru, I cannot recommend La Mar Cevichería enough. In fact, if you have more than one day in the city, I suggest going twice—there are simply too many amazing dishes to experience in a single sitting. The menu is extensive, and everything we tried was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Be prepared for a wait—around 30 to 45 minutes at lunchtime and often longer during dinner since they don’t take reservations. Fortunately, the staff makes the wait pleasant. There is outdoor seating where you can relax, snack on toasted corn (“conchitas”), and enjoy a drink from the bar until your table is ready. We went as a group of twelve, which gave us the chance to sample many different dishes. My favorites included the crab claws, priced individually at around $6 each. They are not your typical claws—more like delicate portions of sweet crab meat shaped into a ball, about half the size of a Twinkie. I also enjoyed a light avocado-based mixed salad and the Saltado with pescado y langostinos (fish and shrimp), which was absolutely delicious. My mother ordered the lomo saltado, another must-try classic. The restaurant also offers impressive grilled seafood platters with shrimp, octopus, shellfish, and fish—perfect for sharing. If you enjoy your meal as much as we did, check out their cookbook, branded aprons, and other souvenirs. For dessert, the warm chocolate cake was rich, moist, and decadent—an ideal way to end a memorable meal. The ambiance is rustic, casual, and welcoming, with nautical touches that make it feel like a chic beachside spot. Lamar Cevichería is absolutely worth the visit.

This is my third time in Lima and second time trying La Mar. Very disappointed again. I thought last time I didn’t order the right food so I came with some study done. I arrived with high hopes. The oyster was fishy and the dressing was salty soy sauce (are you serious?) the octopus and the pasta were very salty (the steak in the pasta was very good). When I mentioned this to the waitress while I was tipping her, she wasn’t very interested to learn more. in return. She said “yah?” There are better choices for similar restaurant. Lima has many decent restaurants. Just be careful so you don’t waste your meal opportunity in Lima.

Great Peruvian restaurant — their urchin ceviche is absolutely amazing, the kind of dish that makes you rethink your life choices in a good way. And the Pisco Sour? A must-try. It’s so good you might accidentally order a second one before you finish the first.

Popular seafood restaurant specializing in ceviche. Expect a wait (we had about a 30 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon), but there's seating provided for waiting guests where they'll serve you a complementary snack and take drink orders. Our server was efficient, attentive, and very friendly. Spoke excellent English. We liked the charming interior decoration, though we found it a bit loud. Some potato chips and dip were also complementary when we were seated at our table, we didn't care for the dipping sauces but the chips were very nice, in varying colors. We had two ceviche dishes which were both delicious, and a seafood rice dish which was nice as well. Unfortunately we ordered a bit too much, couldn't finish the rice, but the staff was very helpful in boxing it up to go. We were slightly irritated that the menu says "service" included, yet they still expected a tip. One or the other, I would hope.

Mayta Restaurante has gained recognition for its innovative approach to traditional Peruvian cuisine, earning a place on Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list. Chef Jaime Pesaque's transition from casual dining to fine dining has elevated dishes like ceviche, with the renowned cebiche amazonico showcasing unique flavors such as Amazonian ginger and charapita chile.
The restaurant’s design was impressive—almost like dining in a jungle. Today’s ceviche was made with Amazonian fish, fresh and delicate in texture. The main course was seafood paired with a bean sauce, plus some fried sides that gave it a smoother taste. Dessert was visually creative with a sweet-and-tangy flavor. Loved it.

Food:4.5. Presentation came first than the taste. Tried their tasting menu, 998 pen/person. Firstly the presentation was decent, almost every dish came like an art work, with nice decor and good looking. Secondly the food was overall good. Yet some of them were average, more like some simple cooking style on local veggies, and the sauce was not great. There was one dish (the one with all red, green, black colors was very creamy and salty, didn’t enjoy it at all). It has 3 mains, but it came more like tapas. Desert was okay. Vibe is great and the house looks amazing. A nice dining experience.

This resturant stood out to me a lot during my trip to Peru. The service and atmosphere were amazing. Highly recommend location for a date night. The food was delicious. I tasted an oyster from here and it was the best oyster I probably had in my life. I'll possibly come back to this resturant just for that. I think this resturant is a bit over price so come wallet ready.

Mayta is a perfect blend of creativity and flavor. From the bread service to the mains, every dish is beautifully presented and full of detail. Ingredients shine in thoughtful combinations, and the atmosphere adds to the experience. A must in Lima if you’re looking for elevated Peruvian cuisine. Look at my pics, order just the same if you visit with 4 to 6 guests

Mayta offers an incredible upscale dining experience on par with the top restaurants in the world. I enjoyed a wonderful lunch that consisted of freshly baked bread, ceviche, and delicious ravioli with creamy herb crust. Top everything off with a Chilean Chardonnay and the entire meal was extremely memorable. I also watched the diners on either side of me order the duck platter, which was gorgeous. There was also several beverages that were creatively presented with mist and dry ice. Overall, I loved the meal and will be back to try more on the menu.

La Picantería is a renowned restaurant in Lima that offers cuisine from Arequipa, Peru's charming third city located in the southern Andean foothills. In Arequipa, picanterias are a way of life and typically open only for lunch, serving a variety of dishes including seafood and meaty options like chicharron (fried pork).
La Picantería is a gem in Lima. The vibe is super relaxed, with bright-colored walls, rustic decor, and a really authentic, welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for going with friends or for a more chill lunch. The food was amazing: we had a super fresh salad with avocado, tomato, and lettuce, and a fish dish with golden potatoes in an incredible sauce full of crispy garlic and chili. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. They also have a great little bar area with a nice wine selection and cocktails — it adds a cool, lively touch to the experience without being overwhelming. The glass of white wine we had was the perfect match for the food. Definitely a place I’ll come back to and keep exploring. Highly recommend!

Nothing extraordinary! Waiting time 40min. I think they prioritise locals over tourists although no reservations are possible. No English menu but some staff speaks English and helped us with the order. The concept is to choose the fish/seafood and the cooking method. The kitchen is downstairs which is not very efficient for a restaurant especially when they don’t have a lift for the food. Staffs need to go down and up all the time. Extremely loud music. The dishes arrived quickly and seemed to be fresh. Not bad seafood but I think some are overpriced compared to the same food we can find in Europe (especially lobster ~€65/kg) Too small plates to eat the dishes, zero service to replace or give tissues.

OSSO San Isidro, located in the La Molina district, is a restaurant owned by Renzo Garibaldi, who honed his skills in France and the USA before opening this establishment in Peru. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of French techniques with traditional Peruvian dishes, creating an experimental culinary experience. Specializing in meat dishes, OSSO prepares its own charcuterie and dry-ages various cuts of meat.
Went here several times. Wagyu is their specialty. The ribeye and NY strip were cooked to perfection. The potatoes fries were also amazing, thick yet crispy and soft inside. The grilled fish and octopus were also nice. Their Lomo Saltado is also a signature meat dish! For drinks, I recommend Tinto Verano! The service was excellent, the waiters went above and beyond to make sure we were warm with blankets and heaters as we were on the terrace during a windy evening.

Osso seems a bit similar to high-end restaurants in Singapore. It has a good location and caters to business people, but the cost/experience ratio seems slightly off to me. That said, the risotto with bone marrow was good, just a bit rich IMO. Too much of a good thing? However, the bar service was excellent, and the drinks were of good quality. The decor seemed a bit over the top; there were lots of unnecessary neon. It seems to me that Osso is trying too hard to be cool. Understated would be better for me. Still, the food and service are good, just not the best I have experienced in Lima.
Keith M — Google review
The best part of the meal was probably their bread otherwise the pork was overcooked and the wagyu burger was very oily and just crumbled apart due to the sauce and oil. Salad leaves were old and mushy as well. Truffle fries weren’t bad pretty tasty and cooked well.

Decent food but nothing crazy. Good drinks. Had to wait a while for main course and had to pay for bread even though we didn’t order it. The pasta was the best. Steak was very rare and not worth it

Located in the hipster neighborhood of Barranco in Lima, Mérito stands out as one of the best restaurants in the Peruvian capital. The chef, Juan Luis Martinez, skillfully blends his Venezuelan roots with Peruvian culinary traditions and other Latin American influences. The restaurant's menu reflects a diverse exploration of flavors using local ingredients and a strong aesthetic sense. Ranked No.
Merito was the clear stand out meal for us in Peru and it’s one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had. Head chef Juan Luis Martinez is simply a genius with flavor and all his/ her dishes were incredibly creative, thoughtful and works of art! While everything we had was delicious the standout dishes for us were the apps and desserts, in particular, the - Yacon with whitefish - a delight for all the senses - Fish tartar - I had no idea a tartar could taste this good!! - Scallop ceviche - flavors were bright and refreshing - Flan - best flan I’ve had in my life (so good we had it again at Merito’s sister restaurant, Clon, a few days later) - Chocolate rock - decadent and delicious, one for the chocolate lovers! Would absolutely return if I’m ever in Lima again! And this meal inspired us to try both clon and demo cafe under the same restaurant family (both excellent as well). Easiest five stars ever and my favourite fine dining restaurant I’ve had to, to date.
Erica N — Google review
The meal was exceptional and is one of the best I have ever had. Honestly tasting menus make me a little nervous because I wonder if the imagination of the chef is just too far outside my comfort zone. Despite my nerves, I brought an open mind to this experience. As I reviewed the menu, cornbread jumped off the page. As a person who grew up eating cornbread, I was SURE that I would be disappointed. I have been to many restaurants who try to put some flare on cornbread and they fail. Well, it was not like Jiffy or any cornbread I have made from scratch. It was more like a sweet bread and the onion butter was wonderful. I was getting full but still regret I did not eat my last slice. I could go on and rave about almost every dish but who wants to read all of that and I assume the menu changes so it is not even helpful. But I need to say the beef was fantastic. I do not eat much red meat and was set to be underwhelmed and it was amazing. And since my review seems to be all sunshine, I will be real and say there was one part I did not like and it was a gelatinous portion of a dessert. It is a texture I do not enjoy but it was such a small component of the meal that if you feel the same way this will not really impact your satisfaction. What can I say, it is just my palate. By the dessert courses, I was pretty full any way but I managed to eat all of the thin cookies which gave me another surprise ….I enjoyed the white chocolate one. I generally love dark chocolate, will eat milk chocolate but pass on desserts with a white chocolate base. I was wrong again. This was great. I wish I had photos of all the courses. They were a treat for the eyes not just the stomach. I would go back in heartbeat. This was my best of many great meals in Lima.

One of the best dinners I can remember. The flavors were out of this world. Several of the dishes I will dream about for quite a while. The ambiance, the music, the staff. Five stars across the board! Really glad we read all the reviews and chose this as our last meal in Lima. Do not miss!

We ordered 5+1 things between two people and felt that it was enough food. Okay: popeye crab, white fish with cocona / Good: Scallops with sanki and jalapeño, Fish curry / Amazing: Lamb and tuber (tender and so succulent), Flan (soooo creamy with a slight burnt caramel taste on the sauce, the lightly bitter taste compliments the taste and texture of the custard very well). We also got the Chirimoya cocktail - taste was good, but also quite basic. I gave it 4 stars because only 1/5 dishes were really, really good in our opinion. Service from Cesmar was 💯, she was very attentive and thorough in her explanation of the dishes. We found the price affordable for this level of dining experience. For reference, our meal came to around 260 PEN per person. I recommend booking in advance, but if you didn't, it's worth walking in to check if they have any availability for that day/the next couple of days (this is what we did). Happy dining! 🥳

We had a fantastic experience with impeccable service and novel, exciting flavors as part of the tasting menu. We were continually blown away as each dish was brought out (I included a few fun pictures of some of my favorites). So many delicious tastes and exciting textures. We definitely had a few favorites but the entire menu was a delight. We felt the price was well worth it and the servers were very attendant throughout the night. The sommelier was also lovely and helped us select a bottle of sparkling wine from Argentina for the evening.

Having revitalized an old space with warm woods and careful lighting, the owners have created a charming restaurant that celebrates ‘essence’. From the raw beams and walls that hold the space, the chef has worked hard to showcase the flavours and ingredients that are quintessentially Peruvian. Delicate dishes play with texture, colour and temperature in ways that delight the eyes and palate, simply laid out on earthy plates and smooth ‘stoneware’. Prepared to be amazed.

This place has the secret sauce - it all comes together to create a whole that is superior to the sum of its parts. Every dish was delicious and featured the freshest produce, the venue and ambiance hit the note and the superb staff rounded it all out, add to this a world class selection of cocktails and drinks which results in one of my favourite restaurants in South America.

Definitely in my top 10 – one of the best restaurants in Lima. I had the tuna and it was absolutely incredible: so fresh, tender, and smooth, it melted in my mouth like butter. The overall quality and flavor really stand out. The only downside is that the price feels a bit high compared to the portion size, but the experience still makes it a must-visit spot in the city.

Absolutely loved El Mercado! The vibe is great, the food was deliciou! We had ceviche and thai curry fish, both mouthwatering. Would definitely come back!
Zsofi F — Google review
My husband owns a travel agency and was speaking with a tourist who had asked us about El Mercado so we came to check it out. I liked the restaurant, I felt like the layout was similar to La Mar (without the iced fish preview haha)! We had great service from Daniel and I loved the signature drinks/items.. he recommended the ceviche which we found delicious but would've liked a little spicer. I ordered the grilled octopus and we weren't a fan but we also ordered the rice with duck (arroz con pato) and it was absolutely delicious and one of the best we have tried (def recommend)!!! Overall we had a good experience but we found it pricey for the portion size you get. They gave us a free little desert at the end which was also really nice :)

Very good food, prompt service, and a good environment without being too over the top or stuffy; there isn’t much to not enjoy. It is one of the top restaurants in Lima in my opinion. It is not trying to be the 3 star, one bite of food per course type restaurants, which is a good thing. I gave only 4 star for atmosphere as it is more of an open air restaurant and is a bit on the loud side, but you can still easily hold a conversation and it’s a fun change of pace from many other “top” restaurants.

El Señorío de Sulco is a renowned restaurant located on Lima's Malecon, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. It is celebrated for its authentic Peruvian criollo dishes that combine Spanish and native culinary influences. Visitors are encouraged to arrive with hearty appetites to savor traditional delicacies such as aji de gallina and beef huatia, prepared using pre-Colombian slow-cooking methods.
Very nice typical Peruvian food. Be warned these are hefty dishes so go there when you are hungry! Nice spot on the malecón. Def recommend and would visit again.

First time having the lomo while In peru was really really good. Lovely area overlooking the coastline. Would highly recommend to anyone whilst in lima!

2nd time here. Tamalito norteno and puzco macerado en aguaymanto were outstanding!!! Arroz con pato was very good. Lomo saltado and ají de gallina were ok. I’d be back for some other classics. Nice decor, very good service.
Melissa C — Google review
The menu is awesome, only typical peruvian dishes and the venue is amazing plus the terrace has ocean view, where they get the fish produce used in some of the spectacular dishes. Highly recommended, and during October, the classical Turrón is a must.
J A — Google review
Great experience. The service was A+. The food was very good, and some excellent. The best dish was Arroz con Pato Norteño, delicious and tender duck. We also enjoy the Pulpo, and arroz con mariscos. The causa con langostinos had too much "salsa golf" that diminished the dish a little bit. Chancho al pisco was good, however the portion was very small. El tiradito clásico, was okay, it would it be better if the plate was not deconstructed. I preferred the fish soaked in the sauce. A little bit pricey but highly recommended.

Amazing food! Great variety of local and fusion dishes — all delicious and generous in portion size. The staff were super accommodating despite the language barrier. There’s a lovely alfresco area outside and a warm, elegant space inside. We ate here multiple times during our stay in Miraflores. A must-visit!

Antigua Taberna Queirolo is a historic establishment with almost 150 years of tradition, located in a European-style mansion in the Pueblo Libre neighborhood of Peru. Originally a neighborhood store, it has evolved into two distinct sections: a wine and pisco cellar featuring products from its own vineyards, and a restaurant serving traditional Peruvian cuisine.
Taberna Queirolo is undoubtedly one of the most iconic restaurants in Lima, Peru. It holds a special place in my heart, filled with cherished memories from my childhood in Pueblo Libre. I used to gather there with family, and now I continue to enjoy it with friends and loved ones. I can't recommend it enough! It is an institution when it comes to Pisco, Peruvian wines, and traditional Peruvian dishes. If you're in Lima, you definitely shouldn't miss it!

This restaurant is always a "must" every time I travel to Peru. The food has the authentic Peruvian flavor, don't miss it!
Fanny R — Google review
This historic spot has such a cool old-world vibe — it feels like you’re stepping into Lima’s past while enjoying hearty Peruvian food. The tequeños de ají de gallina were a fantastic modern twist on a classic, warm and filling. The rocoto relleno came out in a cast-iron skillet alongside pastel de papa and was full of flavor and comfort. For drinks, both the pisco intipalka chilcano clásico and the maracuyá pisco sour were excellent — refreshing and balanced. A must-visit if you want authentic food in a place that’s as much about the atmosphere as the meal.

From the moment you step inside you feel like you travelled back in time! A place that opened in 1880 and it still keeps the charm of the old days. The menu is quite extensive with traditional flavours and a large selection of alcoholic beverages. The food is simply delicious and the portions are generous. Although the prices may be quite elevated, you are compensated by an attentive staff and a truly unique decor.

Antigua Taberna Queirolo is a gem in Lima! Founded in 1880 as a bodega and wine bar, it’s become a beloved spot for locals and travelers alike, right next to the archaeological museum. The place is huge, packed with history and old-world charm. The menu’s all in Spanish, which made ordering a little challenging, but I watched what others were having and went with a pesto-based soup—absolutely delicious! If you’re looking for an authentic Peruvian experience in a spot that’s been around for over a century, this place is a must.

Costanera 700 is a renowned Nikkei restaurant in Lima, Peru, with a rich history spanning over 45 years. Founded by the legendary Humberto Sato, a pioneer of Nikkei cuisine in Peru, the restaurant offers a delightful fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors. The establishment prides itself on serving extremely fresh seafood and top-notch sushi, making it a go-to spot for both lunch and dinner. The elegant yet relaxed atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience.
The restaurant is simply excellent. They provide a personalized service by asking your name and then remembering and referring to you by name (our server Antonio was amazing). We had the lobster; it was excellent, and the rice had sepia di nera, which gave it a twist. My mother wanted something healthy, so she had the steamed fish, and it was also great. The white wine pairing by the glass was pretty good. All in all, good quality price ratio. They take reservations, but on weekends after two they work on a first-come, first-served basis.

Excellent food with a very fun atmosphere. The service was very good, the food came out quickly and the server was very attentive. [5/5, Lima, Peru] Two lobsters and buttery angel hair pasta for 200 soles - a solid 6/5 and would come back just for this. The uni was good as well. The ebi fry, shrimp and fish tempura was amazing - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, dipped in a light tempura sauce. The salt baked fish was also solid - it came with butter, minced garlic and minced ginger. For dessert, the chocolate soufflé was amazing. Everything else was good but didn’t stand out.

Totally loved this place. Don’t be fooled by the restaurant’s decor, which has not been upgraded in about 20 years, or the lack of ambiance (which could have also been because of the late hour we arrived), this place offers incredible food. A must when in Lima. Definitely go for the Chita a la Sal with Crab Chaufa, and the buttery octopus which melts in your mouth.

Restaurant
Cosme Restaurante y Bar was founded by five friends with a vision to create a restaurant that embodies the authentic flavors of traditional Peruvian cuisine while adding a modern twist, all within a sustainable and inviting setting. The main chef, James Berckemeyer, who previously worked at Astrid & Gaston, brings his expertise to the table. Located in the lively San Isidro district, Cosme offers an energetic and casual atmosphere paired with exceptional service.
I'm thrilled to have returned to this exceptional restaurant with a friend for lunch, and it was just as impressive as I remembered. Tucked away in the heart of San Isidro in Lima, Peru, this culinary gem consistently delivers outstanding dishes. The Pappardelle & Carrillera and Texturas de Chocolate were outstanding, and our server's expertise and warm hospitality made the experience truly special. It's a testament to the restaurant's dedication to quality that it has maintained its exceptional standards over the past decade. The vibrant atmosphere, crafted from sustainable materials, perfectly aligns with the restaurant's culinary vision. Whether you're a local or just visiting Lima, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for an exceptional dining experience.

I love Cosme. They have great food and drinks. Their interior design could use a spruce. I was a little disappointed in my dessert, it had a very flashy name but wasn’t great. On the other hand you can never go wrong with chocolate

I had a fantastic experience at Cosme! The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was flavorful, creative, and beautifully presented. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of both the food and the service. Cosme is definitely a place I’d return to and recommend for anyone looking for a great dining experience in Lima.

There seems to be a lot of hype around this place, but it was just "ok" for me and my partner. I ordered the scallops, and I got one tablespoon of scallops with another tablespoon of decoration. They were so small for some reason. I finished it in less than 5 minutes 😒 My partner ordered the Cesar salad and was disappointed with it. It was 85% head of lettuce with very little on top. The dessert was the only highlight of the night. It was delicious and really hit the spot. Overall, we left feeling hungry 😕

Perfect food and service. I was delighted at the small dishes, which were very creative and delicious. I highly recommend and plan to return.

Another reason to skip the high-end name brands in Lima! Apart from excellent food and service, Cosme has a cool decor using bottle tops and bottoms to create colorful artwork. It is a popular place for the locals so definitely not a tourist destination (which is a good thing!). We decided to share a few appetizers to try a few things...Mazorca, Taco Tostado and Conchas Laminadas were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The star of the night was the Crema Volteada for dessert! A must for dinner in Lima!

Really nice gastronomic restaurant, great flavours made with local ingredients, yet with international inspirations. Great blend -the Escabeche was absolutely delightful and the dumpling was the best dish, with a very thin dough and a crazy good meat stuffing. The ambiance is relaxed and the staff is kind. I got the chance to be served by Luis, who was able to explain all spices, herbs and cooking techniques in easy words. I'd say they would be close to 1 Star Michelin but wouldn't be quite there yet.

Panchita in Miraflores is a culinary gem that offers an inviting atmosphere and a diverse menu inspired by Peru's rich coastal and Andean flavors. Under the expert guidance of chef Martha Palacios, diners can indulge in generous portions of traditional dishes like grilled octopus, beef heart anticuchos, and the slow-cooked adobo don pancho served with yuca frita.
If you want to try traditional peruvian food for turistically acceptable price, come here. Portions are huge (we three people had 4 dishes and one of them was stater, we had hard time to finish them). Quality of food is excellent. If you are looking for posh fine dining, I would recommend other places. But if you want to have casual conversation with moderate noise (which in Peru is low noise, to be frank 😀) and very good food of generous portions i would come here again. We were fine with seating at the bar, but if you want a table, I strongly recommend to make reservation in advance.
Jakub K — Google review
We had 4 dishes. One was good, 3 were average. We had huge expectations and were disappointed. Server was good, but all recommendations were a miss. We had lamb that tasted more like a chicken. Pork was interesting but way too fatty. Desert was too dry. Only liver was great. We spent 352 Sol, I can say it was that good for this price. I think this place is overrated.

I've been here twice, and I would definitely go back. The portions are generous, and the taste is a solid 10 out of 10. If you want to try authentic Peruvian food, this is definitely the spot. I would suggest making reservations, as this place is always really busy. My favorite plate is for sure the lomo saltado!!

Definetely one of the best restaurants in Lima. The food is very very delicious, portions are not big not little either. A little pricey but totally worth it. Thr arroz con Pato was the best I ever tried and the tiramisu of Pistacho is to die for 😋. We had bad luck with a silly waiter, but in overall the time we spent there was enjoyable and I cant wait to visit it again.

Nestled in the bustling financial district of San Isidro, Malabar is a culinary gem that embodies the art of "juggling" flavors, as described by its talented chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. This minimalist restaurant showcases an innovative menu inspired by Peru's rich biodiversity, featuring seasonal dishes crafted from ingredients sourced across the country.
Loved the place, food, drinks and service! We ended up having a dinner at the bar as I was not feeling well and did not want to take a table for just having a salad or something small. Rodrigo and Jose Luis ( bartenders) were great in suggesting dishes/drinks and providing excellent service. We were told that we could order half a portion of any starter on the menu which ended up being a great way to taste multiple items. We then ordered two main courses - risotto and goat - both were excellent and blue cheese & radishes dessert which was great as well! The food was comparable to Astrid & Gaston which we tried the night before and was reasonably priced. We paid less that $100 for 2 half portions of starters, two main courses and two drinks!

A very exotic but upscale restaurant in Lima. Use local and regional ingredients as well as embracing other cuisines such as Kimchi from Korea. Fermentation seems to be one of the main tactics that chef uses. The 2 types of fermented butter was a bit too exotic for me but the yogurt spread was good and went well with bread. We picked two vegetable dishes from appetizer and 1 main dish, which was fish. All were amazing. I really liked the cabbage dish. Also the fish was well cooked. It was think but cooked even. The fish crust (not skin) outside was so tasty. We each had pisco based drinks, pisco mule and pisco punch. Both were good. Each dish was served and presented so nicely. We really enjoyed dining at Malabar. However if you are not used to the fermented food, please be cautious about the consequences. The staffs were knowledgeable and friendly. Would like to go back and try other dishes!

I would say that my experience in Malabar restaurant was one of the most spectacular ones. Look my friend what was provided to me me: 1) Amazing attendance from waiters and bartenders. They are professionals; 2) great environment and place; 3) food was delicious and 4) cocktails and drinks (the bartender gave us great suggestions) out of series. The price is not that cheap but comparing prices, Malabar can give you a spectacular experience for a fare price. I would come back easily.

We were originally supposed to dine at this restaurant at 7 p.m. but I was were ran late and the accommodated a revised reservation at 9:30 pm, which was very nice. The hot ceviche was divine, so was the grilled scallops with bone marrow. I had the fried guinea pig for my mains but this dish was quite ordinary and not as good as the guinea pig in Cusco (most locals advocate having seafood in Lima as opposed to the guinea pig anyway). My friend ordered the Amazon fish but it was kind of dry and tasteless - reminiscent of ordinary fish & chips actually.

So let’s go the movie route with this place … Clint Eastwood style … the good , the bad and the ugly. First the good: amazing service , super attentive , surprisingly, the chaufa de pescado is the reason to come here … mind blowing flavors and super fresh! The bad, the reason I came here was for the ceviche but both were super salty … the ugly: the ceviche was soooo salty that I didn’t finish it but it looked beautiful.. I felt so bad leaving it there. Ironic that I came for the ceviche but stayed for the chaufa. I really hope it was just an off day for them because I’m coming back for the chaufa !

First off I love food and cultural food is something I look forward to on our trips. We heard about this place and it was recommended to be an extremely nice and delicious place to eat a lot of the cultural food here. However I have to say that this place doesn’t hopefully represent anything to do with Peru and this was the worst place we have eaten here since we started our trip. The service was non existent, the food was either over cook or cut incorrectly and chewy, the valet told a man as we were leaving that they didn’t do valet and continued to watch his phone, the waiter made us change or 20 dollars bill multiple time because they had very slight rips on the bottom, overall I will never return to this restaurant and I hope this helps some of you avoid wasting your money here.

The best thing I had was the grilled octopus … I had a seafood pasta and I found it a bit weird because there was a large amount of cheese on top that I found strange. Pisco sour was good. A bit sweet but still delicious… The doughnuts at the end were awesome though!

I visited Cala for a drink while enjoying their iconic beach sunset, but unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling my best after a long flight. We had such a wonderful experience at Ca La, and a big part of that was thanks to Antonio. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with such warmth and friendliness that instantly made us feel welcome. Throughout the evening, his service was attentive without ever being intrusive, and his genuine kindness made our dinner truly memorable. Antonio went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and his thoughtful recommendations made our meal even more special. It’s rare to meet someone who combines professionalism with such a personal touch—he really made us feel like guests of honor. Thank you, Antonio, for turning a great dinner into an unforgettable experience. We will always remember it!

Lovely ceviche and a nice craft beer to wash it down. Super sea views too but quite pricey, even coming from Edinburgh, one of the most expensive cities in Europe, it felt steep. Staff were very helpful though.

I came here for lunch on my first day in Peru with my friend who’s been here before. I was simply amazed! The view, the service, the food and the atmosphere! Everything you read on the reviews is true! I couldn’t stop thanking my date for making such a great choice. We sat at small table for two right in front of the beach were people were surfing. It was hard to chose between staring at the sea or into my date’s eyes! You must try the ceviche appetizer sample to share. It was so delicious from traditional ceviche to modern versions. I then had the filet de sole and my friend the sesame seed tuna. Both dishes were fantastic. The place was full but the service was still very personalized. They had live music which was a nice touch. The hardest part was leaving. I would have gladly stayed for the next meal and for the sunset. Next time for sure!

Osaka Pardo y Aliaga is a high-end, fine dining restaurant that offers a fusion of Asian and Peruvian cuisine along with cocktails. Visitors are impressed by the exceptional quality of food and the attentive service provided by knowledgeable staff. The restaurant features an outdoor terrace that is heated and comfortable, making it a perfect place to experience Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine. While some guests were not particularly blown away by the cocktails, they found that the outstanding food more than made up for it.
Treated myself early to a belated birthday dinner on my final night in Lima after traveling Peru for 2+ weeks ans this place did not disappoint! Ordered a million things and everything was a bite of heaven. The cocktails were delicious and refreshing as well! Service was professional and attentive. Perfect for a date night, a group outing, or a solo dinner at the sushi bar. I 10/10 highly recommend!

Came on a Saturday night without reservations and was seated at the bar. Please make sure to have a reservation as they tend to get booked and busy. We had the most amazing dinner. All of the sushi was fresh and flavorful. There wasn’t a dish we didn’t enjoy. So much that we got seconds of each. It is well priced with the quality you are getting. The drinks were also very unique and they come with great presentation. Our server was busy but still attentive. Just wished we had more time to eat and take picture of the food but we were to engulfed in how good the food was!

I had three dishes and a very unique matcha sake cocktail. My favorite one is the scallop tiradito! The main course (grilled octopus in cheesy truffle sauce) was too heavy to my liking. But overall it’s a wonderful nikkei experience
Jessie W — Google review
First stop in Lima had to be Nikkei, that perfect Peruvian-Japanese fusion everyone kept recommending. We went to Osaka, and the menu was full of temptations. (I officially gave ceviche a break today after eating it basically every meal in Peru 😂). The fish? Super fresh. The grilled meat? Perfect. The ramen? A little off, but hey, it’s not a ramen shop so I’ll forgive them. Dessert was solid too. But the real MVP? A wild twist on paella that swaps rice for ramen noodles. Absolute genius. 🤯👏

This is one of the best restaurants in Lima and the best Japanese-Peruvian (Nikkei) i Lima I know. Everything from the service, presentation to food, drinks and dessert was excellent. The ballanced combination of tastes with accent on great quality and innovative methods keeps you without the breath. It is price-y and posh, but that's exactly for concrete audience that expects certain level and it is willing to pay for it. Reservation is highly recommended. 5 out of 5.

Osaka is a place that makes a strong first impression. It’s visually impressive—definitely the spot you pick when you want a meal to feel like a real occasion. The food here is a mixed bag, but the peaks are seriously high. We tried the Tumbo Shrimp, which was fine, no complaints there, but the real showstoppers were the cold appetizers. The Ceviches and Tiraditos were truly exceptional—easily the highlight of the menu. And if you’re a sushi person, you have to hit the Inca Sushi; it was ridiculously good. Beyond the food, they nail the drinks. I had the Negroni, and the presentation was super theatrical; they really put on a show. Crucially, the drink itself was perfectly crafted—not just for looks. I was also pleasantly surprised by how many good vegetarian options they offered; my wife was genuinely pleased, which isn't always the case. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a night out. The ambiance and the standout dishes—like those ceviches and the Inca roll—make it a great place to gather with friends or celebrate.

Went there last night to celebrate my last night in peru and my partners birthday. It was easily the best meal we had in the country and I wish we discovered it sooner!! The service was spectacular, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. We tried several different dishes to share, some sake, and a cocktail each. I had the citrus cocktail (i can't remember the exact name) and recommend that.

I’ve seen this restaurant highly recommended on various platforms and social media. The food is absolutely top-notch. Some may say it’s a mix of Japanese and Peruvian cuisines, but all flavors melt fantastically in my mouth. Would I return? Definitely, but only if I manage to secure a proper table, indicating one issue to be fixed.

Restaurante La Rosa Náutica is an elegant seafood restaurant located on a pier with stunning views of the ocean and city. It's known for serving a wide range of ceviche in various regional styles, as well as innovative combinations like tiradito poderoso with sea urchin and black scallops. The restaurant is popular among both locals and visitors, offering delicious and fresh seafood, chicken, and beef dishes.
This is amazing place for the views. You have to come here for the very nice ocean panorama. Choose sunny day (you know, in some time of the year, it's very gray, I would avoid those days). The food was excellent. Overall, it might be a tad overpriced, but I would come again. The stuff was like a little kids (kicking each other for fun etc.), but otherwise they were okay-ish. I recommend to make a reservation, it is really needed. 5 out of 5.

The service and Atmosphere was outstanding. The cerveche was delicious and the shrimp appetizer was mid at best. My girlfriends amazonian river fish was good but far from being delicious. I was suggested the lamb which was supposedly one of there specialties , unfortunately it was over cooked for my likings. A little over priced if you ask me. If I remember correctly the menu said you would get 454 grams of lamb. I got half that at best. Nice experience but I would not go back again.

We went to this restaurant at the recommendation of our local tour guide. I recommend reservations as the place fills out quickly. It's at the end of a pier, and the focus is on sea food. Cocktails, appetizers, food, and desserts were all excellent. There were no women in our party, but the restaurant was offering free roses to the women as they were leaving the restaurant, which I thought was a very nice touch. This place is a must go if you are in Lima

Overrated place. The food is pretty average and not worth what they charge for it. It can be a good place for getting a drink with the view, but for diner, there are much better seafood options in Lima. Even the signature cocktails were super basic and felt underwhelming. Waiter received a hefty tip, and didn't even bother to say goodbye...turned his back on us when we left. What a terrible behavior, I do not recommend.

La Lucha Sangucheria Criolla is a popular spot in Lima, Peru, known for its delicious sandwiches. Despite long lines, the wait is worth it for their famous sanguche de chicharron. The bread is sturdy and not stale, complemented by tasty sauces. While the cafe con leche was a bit milky, the overall experience at La Lucha is delightful. The turkey sandwich and lomo sandwich with fries are highly recommended for their great quality and reasonable prices.
Super quick and yummy sandwiches! We tried the chicharrón, lomo, and lechón a la leña - fav was the lomo with is very cheesy and comes with caramelised onions. Chips are pretty good too, some of them are a little too thick cut for my personal preference but still enjoyable. Staff are friendly and bring you lots of sauces :)

After so many people recommended I had to try this restaurant hours before leaving Peru. Line was pretty long so I figured it was definitely going to be good. After ordering the famous chicharrón sandwich (pork) their fries and local juice I was literally in shock.. the hype weren’t kidding, this place was DELICIOUS, I would actually just fly to Lima to get it, that good it was. Highly recommended, 10/10

You know a restaurant is great when you see the locals lined up outside down the streets. Fortunately, we were there during a downtime and got the last table. Counter service with table delivery. It’s a very popular Peruvian sandwich shop known for: Sánguches criollos – Peruvian-style sandwiches with fillings like roasted pork (lechón), beef tenderloin (lomo), turkey, and chicken. The Freshly made juices – especially chicha morada (purple corn drink) and maracuyá (passion fruit) are amazing along with the crispy hand-cut fries. Me and my friend had the fries and the Chicharrón: Thick slices of crispy, deep-fried pork belly with Camote frito: Slices of fried sweet potato. They were soft on the inside, slightly crispy on the outside. It is served with Salsa criolla: A tangy onion relish made with thinly sliced red onions, lime juice, chili (usually ají amarillo or rocoto), cilantro, and a touch of salt. The bread was incredible! It was served on a fresh French-style bun (soft yet slightly crusty), perfect for soaking up the juices without falling apart. We're definitely coming back!

It was my first time eating a sandwich in Peru and La Lucha didn't disappoint. I asked the smiley girl at the till which options were most typical and which one was her favourite. Since I find chicharrón too heavy I ordered a butifarra, which was moist, tasty and not heavy. The mustard was especially good and I would have it again. Next time maybe I'll try the pavo a la leña or the pollo a la brasa. I can't wait! *Update* I came back, had the Chicharrón and it was even better than the Butifarra! Less oily sauces, more succulent meat, fresh onion & vinaigrette. It was awesome!!

Punto Azul is a renowned restaurant in Lima that attracts both locals and tourists with its classic Cevicheria offerings. The menu features delightful dishes such as the Seafood Chaufa and Jalea, showcasing the best of Peruvian seafood cuisine. Situated in Miraflores, this affordable eatery is often bustling with hungry patrons eager to savor its delectable offerings.
When we arrived in Lima, we had 3 people recommend this restaurant to us and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. Our server, Jose Luis, was so kind and offered excellent recommendations, including a daily special that was not listed on the menu, but was the best dish we tried! The food is so fresh and flavorful. We tried the tartar (excellent, but would skip next time); Ceviche mixto (best ceviche I’ve ever had); daily special fried fish with decadent marisco sauce (1000000/10); Pisco & Pisco Punch (would recommend Pisco Punch to anyone who doesn’t want to taste alcohol too strongly). Overall, a fabulous experience. Due to the popularity, be prepared to wait up to 1hr on the weekends for a table. But you will not regret it!

Pisco Sour Salvation in a Sea of Mediocrity After a week of questionable life choices in Peru, we stumbled upon a restaurant that didn't make us want to cry (yet). There was a line out the door, and they actually took reservations – shocking! The food was...fine. Scallops were smothered in enough cheese to clog an artery, the octopus was unremarkable, and the ceviche was decent, but let's be real, we've had better at a high school potluck. BUT. The pisco sour? Oh, sweet mother of all that is good. It was like a symphony of flavors, a party in our mouths, a reason to question all our life choices that led us to this moment. We're talking best pisco sour in Peru best. We'll be back for that alone. Every. Single. Night. If you're a foodie looking for a culinary experience, just don'texpecta lot here. But if you're a pisco sour connoisseur (is that a thing?), this place is your holy grail. Just don't forget to bring your stretchy pants and a cardiologist.

We had a great dinner and decided to share a few dishes so we could try more of the menu, the food did not disappoint, “Delicious.” The service was a little slow, but that’s understandable given how popular the restaurant is for its excellent food. The atmosphere has a great vibe, though it did get quite loud with all the guests and music. Not unpleasant, but something to keep in mind if you prefer a quieter setting.

If you’re in Lima and craving ceviche, Punto Azul is a name that comes up again and again — and for good reason. I walked in just before noon and the place was already buzzing. No frills, no pretentious plating — just solid, flavour-packed Peruvian seafood done right. They start you off with a bowl of cancha (toasted corn) and a small bowl of spicy salsa — a salty, crunchy prelude that sets the tone. Then came the ceviche mixto (pescado y pulpo) — fresh chunks of fish and tender octopus, marinated in a bold leche de tigre. Creamy, citrusy, assertive. The sweet potato and choclo on the side round it off with earthy sweetness and chew. I’ve had ceviche in Chile, but this? Different league. Brighter, more acidic, more alive. The Peruvians own this dish, hands down. A warm bowl of fish broth (caldito) also arrived unannounced — a comforting, herby sip in between bites. Wrapped up the meal with a merengado de chirimoya, a light but decadent dessert that brings together tropical fruit, crisp meringue, and fresh strawberries. A surprising win — and very Peruvian. 💰 Total bill: PEN 80 📷 Dishes tried: • Ceviche Pescado Pulpo (56 PEN) • Merengado de Chirimoya (24 PEN) Pro tips: ✅ Come early or expect a queue ✅ Service is quick and friendly ✅ Portions are generous ✅ Dessert is worth saving space for

Yes, they're great!! And it's worth the visit! I went there because my friend recommended it and, fortunately, it was just in front of the hotel. I was lucky to get in early, as it gets busy later and I wasn't aware of it (until seeing lines in other moments). The waiter was super attentive and friendly, despite the busyness! The entrée (canchita and banana chips with those sauces) is just a sign that it's gonna be goooood! I was alone and didn't expect the chaufa de mariscos would be sooooo big!!! It could be shared between two people, at least. It was delicious, although couldn't finish it 🥲 and chicha morada was just perfect to balance the dinner.

The place was packed for lunch. The hostess said a 20 minute wait and it was pretty close. I think I waited 25-30 minutes? It flew by pretty quickly. I got the fish ceviche and grilled fish. It was so good! Portions are huge. I couldn’t finish it and had to take it to-go. So worth it. Wish I had a bigger party so I could try more items on the menu. A bit on the pricier side but it was good! Service was friendly but they were busy so expect to wait a bit and enjoy your time.

So lucky to find this place with fantastic bread! It's not easy easy to find good bread in South America, but this is THE place. The croissants were to die for. Actually went there for good croissants but since I was hungry and read many good comments about their sandwiches I wanted to try one and ordered a Capresse sandwich. I it was good but a bit salty. Then ordered the almond croissant. It came a bit warm so I was very excited, but I must say I was disappointed again (why is it so hard to find proper croissants in Lima ??🥺). Anyway it was a little crispy on the outside and this gave me hope but it was not crispy enough and inside was not very fresh. When I went there it was around 4 o’clock so maybe thats the reason and the taste was good so maybe if I can I would like to go there in the morning and try a very fresh one to evaluate it better.

Peruvian restaurant
Matria Restaurante is a hidden gem in Miraflores, Lima, offering an excellent dining experience. The restaurant boasts a relaxed ambiance with chill music and a wide selection of cocktails. It prides itself on serving spectacular food prepared with locally sourced ingredients to create delicate and flavorful dishes. The name "Matria" reflects the chef's vision of nurturing the connection between gourmet dishes and the origin of their ingredients, emphasizing Mother Earth's influence.
This was our last meal in Peru. We ordered just three dishes—and loved every one of them!
Anni C — Google review
The food is good, fairly innovative actually, and its a good place to share dishes. But its also expensive so quality needs to be like this… poor wine list. Sad that this place has 0 ambience, music is loud and kind of does not fit. Terrace is not inviting. Inside is kind of dark and for that hour of day there were basically no people. Staff too complicated which probably not their fault… For a place of this price should be more flexible in order taking... Don’t think i will return.
Ma J — Google review
The restaurant was okay overall. I ordered a fish, which came deep fried even though neither the menu nor the server mentioned it would be. The portion was decent for an appetizer, but the dish itself wasn’t very memorable. The octopus however was excellent. easily a 9/10 if you enjoy octopus with a sweet style sauce. The maracuya “juice” was disappointing, about 80% ice and tasting more like lightly flavored water than real juice. Service was so so. Despite the restaurant only having a few occupied tables and several servers standing around I had to wait many times to get attention. The servers also never asked if I liked the food or if anything was wrong. The menu seems hit or miss. The table next to me say they really enjoyed their food.

We loved our meal here! So yummy! Our waiter was really nice and gave us lots of good recommendations such as the scallops in yuzu sauce.

We had the tasting menu and couldn’t be happier. All dishes were amazing, loved the ceviche, the scallop and the beef cheeks. Dessert was art and the overall experience we couldn’t falter. Pisco sour was on point and we shared a bottle of local Peru wine, delicious! Can’t recommend enough z

Absolutely outstanding restaurant! The food is amazing and compared to many of the upscale restaurants in Lima great value for money! The scallops were the best we ever had. Staff is also very friendly. Highly recommend the place for anyone looking for great Peruvian food - particularly seafood

Great place to dine in. Food, service are excellent. We went there at a Friday night, due to national holiday the place is less crowded than most of the time. All sea food plates we ordered are delicious. The small bread is extraordinary, it’s made from a kind of purple potato, tastes a hint of sweetness, combined with house made flavored butter, no one can resist!

Delicious Spanish-inspired Peruvian food with heavy seafood focus. Great ambiance and cool interior. Fantastic service by our server Enrique. Their mussels special and burnt cheesecake tart were 10/10 dishes that stand out in months of travel. Would love to return to try everything.

La Gloria Miraflores is a top-notch restaurant in Peru, offering delicious Peruvian cuisine in a cozy and elegant setting. While some visitors found the food to be good but not exceptional for the price, others praised the quality of the dishes and excellent service. The ambiance is pleasant, making it a worthwhile dining experience.
The restaurant is very nice, has a good ambiance and the food was really good . The only thing is the server misunderstood our order— because of the languages barrier. But overall good .

There are so many customers in a luxurious restaurant. We made a reservation and visited. Malbec wine was delicious. Most of them are foreigners. The bathroom is small. Bisco is strong.

Me and my husband lived actually lived in LA. We visited constantly Lima periodically. We are always looking out for the a top experience. Amazing good - service and decor . This restaurant has all of the above.. The owner and his staff its truly amazing. His recommendations and staff are simply amazing . We are long costumers and happy to consider ourselves part of it .

Mixed night at La Gloria. Had the tuna and beef tartar to start. The tuna was great but I didn’t like the flavor profile of the tartar with the curry. We asked about sharing the paella between two and they said it was far too small… it wasn’t the case at all. We ordered two and couldn’t each eat half. A blatant effort to increase our spend. The flavor of the paella was good but lacked the crispy base that it should have. Last disappointing thing was when the bill came they charged higher prices for items than the prices on the menu so be sure to check your bill. The description was accurate but the prices were wrong by over 50%!!! Seems to be a scam in Lima as this was the second place this had happened to us.
Paul — Google review
I enjoyed my food but it wasn't anything too phenomenal for the price. Maybe it was my first course, it seemed like it was potato chips on top of ceviche. The pisco scour I got was small and fish meal was not up to par. For the price, I expected more. It could also be that I was eating in Cusco all week and I held the same expectations. I ate well for a good penny. The clientele were all business men and upperclass families/couples.

Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
TITI is a culinary gem nestled in Lima, Peru, where the vibrant flavors of chifa—Peruvian-Chinese cuisine—come to life. With over 60 years of history, this beloved restaurant stands out in a city brimming with Chinese eateries. TITI's kitchen transforms simple ingredients into extraordinary dishes; their tallarin saltado bursts with smoky goodness and fresh veggies, while the kru yoc features crispy pork slices drizzled in a sweet glaze that keeps diners coming back for more.
We were very fortunate to have a relative help us secure a reservation at Titi Chinese Restaurant. This spot is extremely popular, and reservations can be difficult to get unless you plan ahead and make one with a deposit. We were told by several people that this was considered the best Chinese restaurant in town, so our expectations were definitely high going in. We went as a group of eight, all of us hungry and excited to try as much as we could. The restaurant has a reputation for its wide variety of dishes, so we decided to go all in and order family style, sharing everything at the table. In total, we ordered more than sixteen different dishes. I honestly couldn’t even begin to name them all, but that didn’t matter—every single one of them was outstanding. From seafood to meats to vegetables, everything was packed with flavor, beautifully cooked, and brought to the table steaming hot. One thing that stood out beyond the food itself was the service. For such a busy and in-demand restaurant, the staff never made us feel rushed. They were attentive, kept everything moving smoothly, and made sure our large table was well taken care of. The dishes arrived quickly, one after another, always fresh from the kitchen and piping hot, which made sharing them even better. Overall, the experience lived up to the hype. Between the quality of the food, the attentive service, and the energy of the place, I can easily see why it’s considered the best. If you are in town and love Chinese food, this is a must-visit—but definitely make a reservation in advance.
Tulio B — Google review
The food was average, service could have been a little better. Everytime we ordered something the waiter had to check back with someone, which took awhile and delayed everything. Kind of odd. The amount to MSG really gave a few of us a headache the following morning and much of the day
Alpesh P — Google review
All food reviews are subjective and this is from the point of view of an ethnic Chinese person from SE Asia who is a little bit of a foodie. My food rating reflects expectations for a pricy restaurant. We asked for less salt as prior experience showed us that Peruvians like more salt. Ordered the chaufa (with prawns, bbq meat), wan tan soup, garlic beef with black bean sauce (confusingly there is another dish with black bean sauce) and their apparent specialty sweet bbq pork ribs. The wantan soup came with very little soup and lots of loaded ingredients such as bbq pork, roasted duck, chicken strips, cabbage, pigeons egg and the eponymous wantan. The soup was pretty good - pity there was too little of it. The bbq pork and duck was v good with a hint of smoked flavor. The chicken was v tough but I suspect there because it was part of the broth (might be an old chicken or rooster). The wantan, however, was too large to fit into the mouth and the skin was very thick and the taste was mediocre. Overall a mixed result. I think can just leave out the egg, the chicken and balance out with more soup and cabbage. Also the wantan can be improved on wrt skin and size as mentioned. The chaufa was nicely done. Its taste was brightened by the plump shrimp pieces and the bbq pork (again the bbq). Thumbs up on this. The beef was good. It basically tasted like char grilled steak sliced and doused in a black sauce (I think black bean provides the basis). If it were up to me, I’d have added quite a bit more spring onions. The pork ribs - advertised as a specialty of the restaurant - was the biggest disappointment. The pork ribs did not have any “porky” taste and the meat texture was odd. It was overwhelmed by the sauce which I would say tasted exactly like the thai sweet chilli sauce I can buy at any random supermarket at home. I gave a 5 for atmosphere (for a tourist) as the restaurant was packed with Peruvians out for lunch. I gave a 3 for service because (a) the handle of the tea pot broke (it’s a cheap thing with plastic ties) and (b) they actually forgot our pork ribs order and had to be reminded so we ended the meal with the worse dish of the lot.
Jin T — Google review
The Best chifa restaurant in Lima now, the service was good. I ordered Sa ho fan noodles and it was delicious.
Werther S — Google review
On my recent trip to Peru, Chifa Titi was a must on my list — from previous visits I knew it never disappoints, and for many (myself included) it’s considered one of the best chifas in Lima. Highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as it’s usually packed. We went on a Saturday night, party of five, and were warmly welcomed and seated right away. Our feast began with: Appetizers: BBQ pork ribs, a dozen crispy fried wontons, and roast duck with pickled turnip. Mains: Garlic roasted pork (my mom’s favorite), Chi Jau Kay chicken, Titi Special Fried Rice, and Sam Si Stir-Fried Noodles. As always, Chifa Titi delivered — everything was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned. The next time I’m in Lima, I’ll be back here without a doubt.

This is very nice restaurant with classic Peruvian-Chinese (chifa) food. Portions are generous, service is quick and attentive, excellent for bigger groups. The food was delicious and I would like to come again. Reservation is highly recommended. Excellent place. 5 out of 5.

Incredible experience. The pato is a must, the siu mai delicious and the wantan not a usual order, also special. Best chinese in town
Alexander M — Google review
My wife and her family's favorite chifa restaurant. They love the roasted duck and soups the most. Fancy place for a birthday or other special occasion. This time I tried the pork and fried chicken, both were tasty. Arguably the best quality chifa you'll find in Lima.

Nanka is a renowned restaurant in Lima, located in the lively district of La Molina. It is celebrated for its contemporary Peruvian fusion cuisine and strong dedication to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. The restaurant prides itself on using organic, locally sourced ingredients and minimizing its environmental impact. The rustic yet modern design creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both locals and international visitors. Run by an Australian-Peruvian couple, Nanka focuses on serving dishes made with sustainable, locally sourced, organic ingredients.
Went on Valentine's Day night and the staff was clearly overwhelmed but service was still excellent considering. Alpaca, fish fingers, papa Huamantanga and the vietnamese roll were our starters with the star of the bunch being the humble Huamantanga potatoes which were crunchy as fried chicken on the outside and soft as baked potato on the inside. For our main dish we shared the PachaNanka, the restaurant's take on the famous Peruvian dish pachamanca. What a treat, the dish was an experience in itself and came with ossobuco, chicken, and panceta as well as a variety of Peruvian tubers, peruvian corn and queso fresco. The flavor was incredible in each bite. Will definitely be returning.

Great food, surprised that the alpaca carpaccio was so soft. The seashells were great. The duck was really nice. Presentation can be improved and overall ambience (paper napkins), service could also be improved - some waiters were better than others.

Alpaca Tonnato. Acevichado Duck Rice. Tres leches. Alpaca meet just like beef. Sauce is too thick. The rice is good, interesting flavor. Duck has its scent but not too strong. The cake is marvelous, soft and rich in milk flavor. Not cheap, the quality is not worth the price.

Beef tenderloin was very tender and tasty, but pizza rather small, so my partner left hungry. Service is good and fast, we for got a bag and it was returned upon our request, but I expected cleaner toilets from a place of such price range.
Lizaveta M — Google review
Service was alright, music was a bit loud given the restaurant was empty, but given the price the food was dissapointing. The alpaca tonnato was overly salty and the lomo saltado lacked flavor and the fries were dry and bland.
Teddy L — Google review
Great place, excellent cuisine! I went with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. The food was delicious and the service A+. We ate rice with duck and lomo saltado. Maybe is so expensive but it’s worth it. I came back in a week and expent a wonderful dinner with my friends. We tasted a duck filet, wine, cocktails and desserts. Just an opinion , the cocktails weren’t so good.

Wife and I randomly went here while staying in the area. If you want pasta, this is the place. I highly recommend the duck ravioli. That was absolutely perfect. This chess makes the best pasta I’ve ever had and I feel I’m pretty well traveled. Everything we eat was delicious . We ordered: Beef cappuccino, Scallops, Duck ravioli, osso buco and a bottle of wine. The filler in the scallops was a cauliflower purée which was outstanding; the scallop themselves was a bit overcooked and didn’t have a whole lot of flavor; I would recommend skipping that item. The texture and mild flavor of the Fettuccine that accompanied the osso buco was perfect. Total bill was 409 PEN before tip. I would repeat this place for the duck ravioli alone.

Siete Sopas is a cozy, bi-level Peruvian eatery that captures the essence of comfort food with its delightful array of hearty soups. This casual chain boasts multiple locations in Lima, particularly concentrated in the vibrant Miraflores area. Each day of the week features a unique soup, but you can always count on their signature Caldo de Gallina—Peru's beloved hen soup served with plantain balls.
So many things I loved about this place! Prices are fair, a bit higher than other places in Perú but WORTH IT. The location at Miraflores had no wait at all the times we went however we decided to try this location out as well but there was a long line and waited about 20 minutes to get seated. Coming inside the building everything smells so fresh, the staff is very welcoming and professional. Everything I tasted here was delicious. Strongly recommend the strawberry lemonade, chicken soup, lomo saltado- and the bread is yummy!😋 100/10🌟

This place serves incredible soups, with a fantastic selection of traditional Peruvian options! My favorite is the chicken soup—so flavorful. The spicy sauces and canchita (fried corn) on the side are the perfect touch. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, and the decor is rich with the history of Peruvian cuisine and culture.
Mayi B — Google review
We have been hearing about this place from friends for a while, and so we finally decided to check it out. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the food. My husband, who is very picky about his chicken soup was raving about their chicken soup. I like that they have different menu soup options for every day of the week, I got the chupa which was the soup of the day, and it was very tasty. The bread that comes with each meal is wonderful, and it definitely wasn’t enough. It is a small portion that comes, so we ended up ordering another basket of it. Also, the Cachangas were very tasty as an appetizer! Great lunch spot! I am docking a star for poor service because we asked for a table when we arrived and she told us that all the tables were full and we’d have to wait 45 minutes for a table so we accepted to sit at the bar. After being seated for only five minutes a table opened up and she made no offer to see us there even though I looked at her several times. Also, our requests were ignored several times and it took extra long for our other portion of bread to come, and my husband never got the extra onions he requested for his soup…typical lackadaisical latitude from staff around offering good service to clientele. Otherwise, the food was great!

This place is the best. Cant go wrong with any of their soups, the creole was the best one i had in peru. I think all soups come with bread, salsa, corn, and a huancaina spread. The lemony hierba luisa drink seemed popular too and i always saw people with whole pitchers of that at their table every time i went

Good restaurant, tasteful soups. We had to wait 15min to be able to get a table, but the wait was worth it.

This is one of the best Peruvian food franchises specialising in Soups🍵 very tasty and generously served. I tried it for the first time last year at their Miraflores branch and a few days ago at the Lince branch. This time I tried the sopa Críolla and yummy 😋 it was. The place is spacious therefore lots of tables. However this time we waited a little bit to be served. The pan campesino seems to have reduced in portion size since last year. Overall this place is worth a visit if you're a soup aficionado like most Peruvians seem to be. They do offer other dishes as well as cocktails. Good value.
Lily S — Google review
We went twice during our stay in Lima and couldn’t get enough of the excellent food and service. The soups were very flavourful and there roast chicken and rice dishes were high quality ingredients. Our server David was very friendly, efficient and caring. The restaurant’s busy but tables turnover quite quickly but it’s best to go before the lunch rush. Highly recommended

First time trying ceviche, and the mixed plate was delicious! The rice, chicharron, and ceviche combo was so good, and and a great value for the large portions.
Ryan S — Google review
As seen on Netflix’s Street Food Latin America, Al Toke Pez was high on my must-eat list the moment we landed in Lima. I told our friends it was non-negotiable, and they happily followed my cravings. After days of pretty bland meals, that first bite of fresh, tangy ceviche was pure heaven. The spot is tiny and the menu is short, but their signature mixed plate is a winner—fried rice, crispy seafood, and ceviche all on one plate. Add their fiery chili sauce (careful, it’s spicy), and it’s the perfect combo of flavor, crunch, and zing. Delicious, satisfying, and totally budget-friendly. Netflix did not lie. 😋✨

Located in Miraflores area - Lima Peru. Since we saw the story of this chef in Netflix, we wanted to stop by a try the restaurant. We recently visited this small restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was, even with a simple menu. Every dish was well-prepared and full of flavor, showing that sometimes less really is more. The service was friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. However, the location is extremely small, and seating is very limited, which made it a bit uncomfortable and forced us to eat rather quickly. Overall, it’s a great spot for a quick and tasty meal, but not ideal if you’re looking to sit and relax for a while.

Bustling chifa (Chinese-Peruvian) restaurant in Barronco set in a large and nicely decorated space. Came here with a group of 7 for lunch, and the place was pretty packed. Family portion sizes are huge - a few at the table ordered a family size soup to share and it was the size of a crockpot. A few vegetarian options - rice, noodle dishes with vegetables and tofu. Food was tasty, though greasy (not unexpected). Staff was friendly and was very appreciative that I left a tip (so much so that the manager came over to thank me and then gave me a gift).

This is the neighborhood bar I wish I had in my neighborhood. There is an eclectic mix of customers and workers. The age range of patrons varies from young students studying for their exams, all the way up to the retired fellow kicking back on a Wednesday afternoon with his buddies talking about old times. The sandwiches sliced up perfectly in front of your eyes are perfectly done by the old man sitting behind the counter who has been doing this job since he was just a young lad. Do yourself a favor and drop by for a cold beer, a stiff drink, and delicious deli sandwich. No frills, tons of history, and a perfect afternoon/evening spent in a local dive.

Love this place for a quick bite either lunch or early dinner. I have been here a handful of times and never been disappointed. It has become a family favorite whenever we want something good and not over the top expensive. I like the ceviche conchas negras, ceviche corvina, huevera, pescado frito. Today I tried the seco de borrego and it was delicious. Depending on the time and date there could be a wait time.

It has been the most disappointing restaurant I have tried in Peru for the last decade. At the current prices, it's more expensive than maido and la Mar for erizos and conchas Negras... And the quality is sub par. Arroz con mariscos and jalea... Better walk a few blocks to Mercado de jesus maria... Much better quality for a fifth of the price. Parihuela de cangrejo.. 75 soles for an small crab, no taste and no meat Terrible experience. I came with my family to have a good time, but this has been unfortunately one of the worst experiences in a long time. Go to la Mar, picanteria, cosme, la Barra, or any other place.

Mi server, Fernando, was very attentive and patient. The food was awesome and tasteful. That IPA beer was really something. I will add this restaurant to my "Must go" list in Lima.

What an incredible meal. The fresh almejas the clams are an experience in and on themselves, but so is the uni the sea urchins, and the arroz con pato. Solid restaurant, the owners in the kitchen dishing out delicious dishes, service is friendly and prices are fair for what you get. This is a special place and it deserves a visit when in Lima. Highly recommended!

The quality and freshness of the seafood, from the urchins, scallops, shrimp, clams and octopus are top quality amongst limean ceviche restaurants, the right amount of salt to perceive the salt of the seafood itself, the non use of glutamate, this restaurant is a jewel in Lima!

Came here with my friends during our short stay in Lima. Very lovely establishment!! The food was so yummy!! I got the arroz con pato. The flavors were so tasty and the portion was big! We were also served complementary fried plantains and dried corn. The staff were very nice.

Mó is a café located in Miraflores that offers great food, ambiance, and service. They have multiple spaces to enjoy their brunch depending on your occasion. Their egg benedict is a great deal for breakfast.
There’s something special about this city. When a restaurant is only rated 4.3 stars, but they have dishes that are absolutely to die for. I love a good breakfast and wow. The skillet breakfast had incredible bread. The waffle texture was world class. An amazing experience. The staff was very attentive and kind. Highly recommended.

We came around 1030 for brunch and it was not too busy. We ordered the Eggs on toast with caramelized onions and the roast beef sandwich. Phenomenal! Amazing coffee too. Nohely was our server and she was polite and helpful as our Spanish was not too good. 😊

Our server Noehly was excellent, super attentive and helpful. The food was excellent and same goes for the coffees. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our dinner..,, ordered the lasagna, grilled cheese, hongos salados and asado con puré. The best part was the desserts, pie de macadamia y pistachio con frambuesa. Delicious! They also made us decaf cappuccinos with the butterscotch flavoring, not on the menu, but fulfilled our request. Alexandra was attentive and helpful.

Super duper yummy! Jose was our server and he was very attentive and good at answering our questions. The food was delicious, some of the better food I’ve had in miraflores so far. Thank you!

It has definitely changed after the pandemic, with some mainstream dishes on the menu and a more family-oriented feeling, but it's still a good place for breakfasts and brunch. The outdoor seating areas and lovely interior design make it a cozy and modern option, and their coffee is still fantastic. The quality of execution of some dishes has gone down, with my eggs Benedict being way over cooked and the pancakes served too cold. Otherwise a good experience overall.

Really great restaurant! We were there for breakfast and had the pancakes which were really good. The portion was quite big. The staff was friendly, service was nice and fast. The atmosphere and everything was great. I would recommend it. It’s also pet friendly and has outdoor seating.

Italian restaurant
Troppo Restaurante in San Isidro, Lima is a well-known gem that offers a blend of Italian and Peruvian cuisine. The restaurant prides itself on providing top-notch service and attention to detail, creating an unforgettable dining experience. Guests are transported to the hillsides of Italy through their culinary classics while still embracing their Peruvian roots. The restaurant's beautiful interior and exterior add to its charm, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors alike.
So freaking good! Small portions though. About $100 USD without ordering drinks.

Pizza was great (Parma). Pasta depends. It's higher price point and portions are not too large. For starter, we ordered the Pulpo (grilled octopus). It was tender and the sauce was savory and smoky. We also ordered the Agnolotti del plin Al burro e salvia (ravioli-like) and the spaghetti allo scolglio (seafood spaghetti). I recommend the pizza and I have been ruined by the great pizzas in Rome and Naples. The Agnolotti is balanced and tasty. However, the seafood spaghetti was extremely salty. I almost never send dishes back but I had to send this back due to each bite is extremely salty. The remake was not that different so I cannot recommend this dish. The clams were tiny (about 2cm diameter) but luckily the shrimp and scallops were not too salty. The asparagus side comes with 6 stalks. It was cooked well and seasoned well. The dessert - I recommend the gelato with olive oil. We also got the tiramisu (not bad but they did not use rum), and the pistachio gelato. The pistachio gelato is just okay given I've tasted creamier and more buttery pistachio gelato in other places. The gelato with olive oil is simple but the ice cream is creamy, not too sweet, and the olive oil is grassy with the right amount of peppery taste to stand out. The server was great. They offered English menu when they saw us struggle a bit with Spanish. The kitchen did take a while for the first dish to arrive.

Very nice Italian restaurant in the heart of San Isidro district in Lima, Peru. Excellent food, wine and cocktail selection. Definitely a place you can’t miss whenever visiting Lima or if you have planned a special occasion. The staff is super friendly and attentive to your needs, there is no rush, everything is timed perfectly. Definitely we will come back to Troppo.
Mario D — Google review
Great meal at Troppo! We started with the stracciatella, which was tasty, followed by an excellent vitello tonnato—really flavorful. The carpaccio was a bit too salty for my taste, but the T-bone steak that followed was great, served with grilled asparagus and a fresh salad—wonderful. We ended with a very good panna cotta. We didn’t have pasta or pizza on this visit, but it’s definitely worth trying—always solid. They also have a decent wine list. We also had a alcohol free cocktail which was ok. The restaurant is on the pricy side but worth it. The service was friendly and attentive as always. This time, we sat inside, which was nice, although I usually prefer the terrace. Troppo with its terrace remains one of my favorite spots!

I was taken to Troppo by my family in Lima for dinner and it was tremendously awesome! Not only is the restaurant absolutely beautiful outside and in, but it was packed! Luckily, my family is good at making reservations because you couldn't just walk in. As busy as they were, the service was outstanding! We had a large sampling of the menu, but everything was wonderful and well presented. To begin the meal, we ordered a beautiful Brunello Di Montalcino. They have a great wine list at pretty fair prices in my opinion. Also, we started the meal with Steak Tartare, prepared tableside, which was delicious. The great thing about their tartare, is you tasted the meat! It wasn't overly seasoned or overly wet. We also had the Vitello Tonnato, artfully presented, which was very good. For mains, we had the Cacio e Pepe, The beef cheeks, and gnocchi with lobster. All were amazing, but the beef cheeks and the Gnocchi were outrageous! The lobster was so gently cooked, it just melted. The beef cheeks may have been the best I have ever had anywhere! We were so full by the end of the meal that we basically ended up having tiramisu and a little bit of lemon sorbet. We happen to be lucky enough to sit outside which provided us the enough amount of air to survive after eating such an awesome, filling, delicious meal. I will definitely be returning to Troppo during one of my next trips to Lima. It definitely ranks up there in the top five Italian restaurants and maybe the top 15 restaurants in the city. Which being said for Lima, with such incredible food everywhere, is a huge thing to say in my opinion.

We had a pleasant Dinner Experience at this Italian Restaurant in San Isidro, Lima. The dishes were very good and presentable. The service was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was romantic, with low-lit lighting. We would highly recommend this place, perfect for a Date Night!

My favorite Italian restaurant for now. They are bit expensive but totally worth it. The place is beautiful with terrace seatings and staffs are very friendly. Tried wide varieties of he food they serve and loved most of them. For special occasions, business meetings, the place would be ideal. I especially recommend Cacio y pepe pasta, risotto with truffle, and pistachio ice cream.
Antonio Y — Google review
The place is beautiful, however the service was not top notch. Regarding the food, we order a beef tartare that was good (nothing special), a pizza with ham that was good, and a carbonara pasta that was disappointing...The pistachio ice cream was EXCELLENT. Would like to come back to try some of the other dishes. For Lima’s Italian restaurant options I gotta say is a good option, however there are a few new places that are also worth a try

Nestled in the vibrant Barranco district, Awicha is a charming bistro that captures the essence of culinary passion and tradition. Helmed by Chef Jason Roman, who honed his skills in prestigious kitchens across New York and Paris, this eatery offers a unique menu that beautifully marries Peruvian ingredients with international techniques. The name "Awicha," meaning grandmother in Quechua, pays homage to Jason's roots and the love for food instilled by his family.
I had one of the best meals I've ever had, not just in Peru but anywhere, at this restaurant. The "tiraditos" as an appetizer were super flavorful, and the cheesecake for dessert was really good too. But the standout dish for me was the creamy rice with scallops for the main course. I definitely recommend trying it. I even went back a second time and had another awesome meal!

We went to Awicha on the recommendation of local foodie friends. What a treasure! The food was exquisite! Peruvian French fusion created with care. My husband loved the cassoulet, and I loved the fresh seafood. We both were blown away by the scallop and beef tartare. Amazing! And the experience was enhanced with delicious wine along with gracious and professional service. This restaurant is a gem!

Hands down the best food we’ve eaten in all of South America 🤩🤤 each dish is so unique and delicious, all the flavours are so well balanced and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into creating them, it feels like Michelin star quality food. The feel of the place is very homely yet classy in a beautiful building and all the staff are so tentative and welcoming. It’s also very reasonably priced for the high standard of food you are getting! I’ll be dreaming of this food for a long time - I couldn’t recommend it enough 😍

One of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had! The portions are intentionally small, in true Japanese style, allowing you to sample multiple options. We followed the recommendations of a friendly waitress and ended up trying a variety of dishes. The Tomo and Bachi were definite highlights. Baan Peru is a fantastic restaurant that offers an amazing blend of South East Asian fusion cuisine and exceptional drinks. Located in the former Lima 27 and 27 Tapas venue, this establishment provides a warm and charming atmosphere on its covered patio adorned with lush greenery. The staff is efficient, friendly, and accommodating, ensuring a delightful dining experience.
Wonderful south east Asian fusion food and great drinks in the house that used to be Lima 27 and 27 tapas. I came for lunch in a sunny afternoon and the covered patio next to the plants felt welcoming and charming. The staff was efficient, friendly and accommodating. We loved the food, specially the fish green curry, and the varied dim sum style appetizers. Do not come expecting "authentic Thai" , since the menu clearly includes dishes from other cuisines, and sometimes even typical Peruvian ingredients.
Lvna G — Google review
The ambiance of the place is nice, but the food, in my opinion, didn't stand out. Admittedly, I didn't try every dish, but my perspective might be a bit more critical having spent considerable time in both India and Southeast Asia. The naan, however, was quite good.

The unagi eggplant and curry were delicious. The clams tiradito wasn’t so good, the sous was too acidic. The interior is also very warm and nice
Illia Y — Google review
Baan is a nice Fusion Restaurant with many different flavours from SouthAsia and India! Beautiful in its decoration, it has a very nice atmosphere. The staff offered an excellent and very attentive service! The food was really delicious - as Starter we can recommend Goi Cuon (Veggie Rice Paper Rolls S/18.00 for 2), Naan & Raita bread (S/12.00) and the Razor Shells, incredible taste for S/35.00. Head to the Mains and order Tikka Masala (S/45.00). Make sure that you like cumin as the Tikka Masala had a lot of it. We also ordered the Udon Noodles with Crab, order it only if you can eat very spicey as the sauce is pre-prepared and you can't lower the level of spice. The Udon noodles were very delicious the sauce tasted a little bit too bitter though. You can bring your own bottle of wine for an opening fee of S/35.00.
Alice Z — Google review
Second time there, everything was absolutely delicious, I kept thinking I would like to take my whole family there when they visit. The fish with green curry and lemongrass was memorable, it came with a peanut, herb and fruit salad and coconut rice, to die for.

Baan’s setting is nicely decorated. I would highly suggest requesting a table outside. We went for a special collaboration night of Indian Street food and it was good. I think I would prefer to go back one night when they have the normal menu because everything does look delicious. The service is a little slow, but not enough to deter you from trying the place out.

Restaurant Huaca Pucllana offers an elevated Peruvian dining experience in an elegant setting with stunning views of the pre-Incan stepped pyramid, Huaca Pucllana. Noé D — Google review
I’ve been here twice and both times the experience was similar - palatable food, mediocre to poor service, all in a beautiful setting. The second time I came was to bring my daughter because the atmosphere is amazing. Next time, we will go on the tour (which is well worth it) and simply slip into the restaurant for a picture. The food is generally not that good, edible, but not terrible… and very expensive for the quality. The service was inattentive both times. The last time, we asked for the space heater to be turned on. The server turned it on and it went off (maybe out of gas). I asked again for him to turn it on, it didn’t go on and he just quit working on it, nor did he bring another one over to replace the one that wouldn’t turn on. Both times I remember looking around for at least 5 minutes for someone, anyone to bring me a check. It also took several minutes to find someone to bring me a spoon for my stew. It’s amazing how hard it is to find a server given how many there are around and we sat at 5:30 PM so the restaurant was less than 1/4 full. But the setting is picturesque, especially with Huaca Pucllana lit up at night. Without tip or any alcohol, the pictured meal cost over PEN 300!
Eugene R — Google review
This restaurant in placed in a privileged place and the food is fantastic. However, I felt waiters are not there to make your experience unique like the surroundings but to do their job and that's it. Maybe the administration needs to change the way they operate; I was assisted by, at least, 5 different waiters who didn't know what stage of dinner I was in or about the last request I had made. This place has the potential to be in the top of every list. Don't waste the opportunity.

Dinner when the lights come on and the pyramid lights up is the best time of the evening! The food is great and the atmosphere even better. 2000+ years of history while sipping cocktails and enjoying gourmet Peruvian cuisine. The stuffed pepper and a chocolate sundae for dessert… extra yummy!
Kristian P — Google review
After an evening tour of the Pucllana archaeological site, we wanted to have dinner overlooking the ruins. Everything we tried was delicious, and the view made the night feel both romantic and magical. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the experience. We especially enjoyed the cheesy scallops, the crunchy-yet-sweet shrimp, and the perfectly cooked beef tenderloin with scalloped potatoes. To finish, the volcano cake provided just the right touch of sweetness to end the evening. It is definitely a good idea to reserve a table in advance if you want a better viewpoint of the ruins. The restaurant is beautifully designed and can accommodate larger parties or intimate dates. The prices were higher than some spots in Lima but fair considering the quality of food and the ambiance.
Desiree M — Google review
Pricey, but good ambience and the food is decent. There is a large outdoor (covered) section so the noise level is low despite the place being about 80% full at round 2:30PM. Our local tour booked this place, situated right next to the archeological site (admission to the site not included). Although both dishes are good, I would highly recommend the duck one on the left.
Paul L — Google review
I tried the yucca and cheese empanadas, potatoes stuffed with meat, causitas Pucllana, and the classic fish cebiche — everything was delicious! For dessert, I had the suspiro de limeña topped with meringue. It was very sweet, and I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was amazing, especially with the beautiful view of the Pucllana ruins. Highly recommend!

The Bad 1. They cannot accommodate allergies. They said they could, they cannot. 2. If you have any substitutions made they will not season your food. 3. It’s expensive and not value for money. 4. Their wifi does not work. Couldn’t load a web page or call an uber home 5. With substitutions the food was bad imagining without them it would probably be okay The Good 1. Corvina tartare was great 2. Service was good and attentive 3. The drinks were good, we had the mule and Paloma

I will never understand why this place is popular. Unfortunately I have been here a handful of times and every dish i have ever tried was below average. The food looks and tastes fake and generic. As an american it reminds me of a more expensive Denny’s. Peruvians stop taking foreigners here, there is so many better representations of Peruvian food in Lima, at or below this price point.

The food is fantastic, I'd suggest the ceviche with spice, the balance of flavor and texture is perfect. But loads of other great dishes as well. Service was perfect, we were with a very large group, making it difficult for them, but they were fast curious and helpful, very kind. Definitely a must go to everytime I'm in Lima.

My waiter, Alex, was incredible. He had recommendations for what to order and kept an eye on his entire section. The 2 for 1 pisco sours are delicious but be warned they are on the strong side. The ceviche was fresh and they can adjust spice level of aji according to your taste. The lomo saltado was tender and flavorful.

I went there with my daughter, and it was not a pleasant experience. We ordered lemonade, juice, a sandwich, and pollo al horno with ensalada rusa. It took more than half an hour for them to bring our beverages, and the food took over 50 minutes to arrive. When it finally came, my meal was cold, and the sandwich was bland. Great place! This is a nice and friendly place ideal to drink delicious cocktails. Although it is advertised as a bar, there is also food… great food! It is located on the upper floor of a building on a well decorated terrace. The cocktails are very original and prepared with care. The barman was quite amazing as he was able to prepare quite a lot of different cocktails at the same time… Impressive. The food as I said was great. I chose the tiradito and I can say that it was one of the best we had in Lima. This is a great place to spend some time with friends in the city.

The best restaurant in town. The lamb shank is at good value, but not soooo amazing as described in other reviews. The octopus is not so fresh. But overall this resto has good vibe, good service, ok food. Delicious cocktail

I got a free coupon for pisco sour from Peru hop. However, I didn't have a chance to eat any food because I was so full from my big lunch and dessert. The workers here seem nice and do not push me to order something even though I have only one free glass. The vibe seemed like a nice bar. Free wifi 4.5/5 for a pisco sour, it would be great if it was more sour (my preference)

Great food, great people. When we went, it was empty, and they had an armed guard who took us to our table, which made the vibe a bit uneasy. But as we ate more people showed up, and I can confirm this place (as a restaurant) is very safe. A surprising amount of workers knew English and were very nice. I highly recommend this place - you are in good hands.

This was a lot of fun as me and my friend came here to do their authentic Peruvian cooking class. We made Pisco Sours, fresh civiche, and Causa a la limeña. Would truly recommend this to meet some other people - groups are small - and have some fun cooking and enjoying some local drink. We were not there for their normal restaurant and bar servings so can not speak to that.

Tourist spot, no Peruvians here. We only went because we had two vouchers for free Pisco Sour, courtesy of Peru Hop. They were nice, the first one quite sweet so I asked to tone down the second one. Friendly and helpful staff. I don't think O would return though.

El Mercado, established in 2010 by renowned Peruvian chef Rafael Osterling, is a vibrant homage to the rich culinary heritage of Peru. This lively bistro not only showcases traditional dishes like ceviche—served fresh and often at lunchtime—but also offers an array of international flavors. The restaurant fosters a deep connection with local producers, fishermen, and farmers, ensuring that every ingredient reflects respect for its origins.

Now there is no longer the craft market where you could find handicrafts, worth the redundancy, but also clothes made by artisan seamstresses, sweaters, ponchos and chullos. Now there are menu restaurants. It has hygienic services and the premises are large, on one floor in front of the Quilca Metropolitano station and with easy access. They sell from breakfast. Nestled in the heart of Lima, Statera Bistró is an intimate dining gem that seats just 25 guests, offering a unique culinary experience crafted by the talented Chef Andre Patsias. At only 26 years old, he brings a wealth of experience from renowned kitchens like Noma and Quique Dacosta. The name "Statera," meaning balance, perfectly encapsulates the restaurant's philosophy as it showcases Peru's rich biodiversity through both tasting menus and à la carte options.
The seabass was the fish of the day and I cannot recall a better seabass, fantastic! Love the ambiance and great service. Worth the $ and will be back! 🤤 🔥

We were eagerly looking forward to celebrating a special birthday dinner at Statera Bistro during our visit to Peru, having made reservations weeks in advance via Open Table for our group of eight. The anticipation was high for what was meant to be the grand finale to our trip, a memorable experience in a renowned dining establishment. Unfortunately, upon our arrival, we were met with the unexpected and disheartening news that the restaurant was closed. This news came as a surprise, especially since there had been no prior communication from Statera Bistro or Open Table regarding the closure, leaving us without time to make alternative arrangements. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can lead to sudden changes, the lack of communication in this instance significantly impacted our experience and expectations. It was a letdown, especially on such a special occasion as a birthday celebration, and as tourists, it left us scrambling for a last-minute dining option. We are not able to comment on the dining experience itself, as we did not have the opportunity to dine at Statera Bistro. However, we feel it’s important to share our experience with potential patrons and the management. Effective communication and customer service are crucial in the hospitality industry, and we hope our feedback will encourage improvement in these areas. Despite this experience, we remain hopeful that Statera Bistro will address these concerns, ensuring that future patrons do not face a similar situation. It’s essential for both the restaurant and reservation platforms like Open Table to keep customers informed and updated on any changes, especially when it involves special occasions and large groups.

Overpriced and terribly executed food. When we walked in at 1:30 they asked if we had a reservation which we didn’t and they gave us a table in the back despite being almost empty. We ordered the navajas which were chewy and not fresh as a starter. My parents had the fish of the day, which you have to pay extra for the sauce and side (which we found very odd). The corvina fish was dry and full of bones, while the mashed potato were runny and the creamy spinach was just a thick and badly made bechamel sauce with barely any spinach. The corn ravioli was the worst — the ravioli was not stuffed but rather just a thick slab of flat pasta covered with a butter sauce and corn — and then drizzled with balsamic. It was the worst “ravioli” I have EVER eaten. Disappointing experience to say the least.

Great restaurant, lovely food with a delicious, different twist on their dishes, no ceviche but two great "ceviche style"seafood starters 1 with white fish and one tuna. The Fish of the day, Corvina was very good but you need to order sides with it. The fideuá with langostinos was also very good. The Cacao dessert was fabulous. Nice decor, exposed concrete and plants. Great service.

Hotel B is a charming boutique hotel located in the upscale Barranco district of Lima. Housed in a historic Belle Époque mansion, this elegant accommodation offers romantic interiors adorned with funky Peruvian art. The hotel features a formal restaurant, bar, and lounge, as well as a rooftop sundeck with a plunge pool that provides stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Guests can choose from spacious Atelier rooms with high ceilings, marble bathrooms, and private balconies overlooking the surrounding area.
Excellent space… delicious food, access to coast boardwalk, top cocktails, rooftop bar & artwork over the top. Breakfast is spectacular - close to the best restaurants in Lima too. We recommend this hotel but AI does as well, could not have a bad time here.

We didn’t stay there but frequented the bar during our stay in Lima. Alejandro was the reason we went to the bar every night. His recommendations were great. He also introduced us to some local liquor and curated cocktails as per our liking. Highly recommend going there. The tapas there were delicious too.

Subtle sex throughout the hotel. Don’t go here if you’ll be offended by that. Lovely breakfast, nice afternoon tea. Rooms felt like a boutique hotel experience (the whole building used to be one family is private summer home).

This hotel is a GEM! It is the perfect blend of modern and historic. What a treat when your hotel enhances your vacation in every way. The staff were gracious, the food was delicious (try the Andean eggs), rooms were spacious and thoughtfully appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the building to enjoy the extensive art collection. We highly recommend this hotel-it was on point!

Beautiful property! We stayed for two nights in a spacious and very comfortable room with excellent amenities. The best breakfast we had during our trip to Peru! Even though we stayed only two nights, the staff made us feel completely at home — everyone was truly kind and welcoming. Perfect location to visit Lima while staying away from the hustle and bustle of Miraflores. Thank you, Lucia

First off Barranco is the perfect spot in Lima if you like a neighborhood feel with lots of walkability, and tons of Cafes, Bars, and Restaurants. Plus Hotel B is in the perfect location. Just off to the side so as not to be in the Buzz but close enough to want to walk everywhere. Staff are lovely. Restaurant and Bar just perfect. 5/5 👍👍
