Love this place for gluten free baked cakes 🍰 delicious and not too sweet which is perfect. Will visit again , dog friendly too .. highly recommend this little and quaint place

A little gem of a cafe, selling breakfast baps, coffee, and cakes, with great service. This cafe is situated in the village of Pentewen, with a couple of minutes walk to a lovely beach. I had a flat white and a piece of banana cake,which was luscious and soft. A very recommended cafe to visit.

Amazing cake order for a birthday. I ordered a big Devils Food Cake for a friend’s birthday last weekend. Such a delicious treat! Everyone loved the cake - we had a 12/14 portion cake but it easily served 20. Absolutely delicious, thank you!

A sweet little cafe tucked in nextvto the Ship Inn (no affiliation though). It seems to be popular with the locals. Not a lot of seating, we were lucky to go on a sunny day and sit outside. The toilet was basic, up some stairs outside. The food looked amazing, and I really enjoyed my hot chocolate. I found the food too rich - I ordered a Viennese whirl and I'm pretty sure it was filled with butter. As the shortbread was also very buttery, I just couldn't eat it. My daughter struggled with the very rich brownie too, but they kindly gave us a takeaway bag so she could finish it later!

Had a nice break after walking for a few miles. The milkshake was really good. The bacon brie and cranberry was a good combo, and I'm getting hungry again thinking about it. They had a good selection of cakes and at a good price compared to places nearby. Would recommend.

Always pop into little bay if we are in Pentewan. They do the best lemon and lime cheese cake ever. They also do a great caramel slice. Always friendly and don't mind that I often have a muddy spaniel in tow. It's a compact cafe but well worth a visit.

Difficult (in the dark) to navigate your way around the roadway options to get there, and once you do, very clean but felt a bit soulless. On balance I think I prefer the slightly smaller options on the A30. But I will give it another try in the future.

Called in for a Costa. Great service stop. MC Donald's, Mountain Warehouse, Co-op, Mango, Greggs, Saltrock, Subway, Taco-bell and Rowe's Bakery stores here plus an arcade and toilets.

Stopped by Cornwall Services on the A30 for a quick bite and decided to try Subway. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. The food was decent - nothing extraordinary, but solid for a motorway service station. This service station has a great selection of food options including McDonald's, Taco Bell, Costa, Greggs, and Rowe's Cornish Bakers, plus a Co-op for supplies. There's even a Costa Drive Thru which is handy. They've also got some interesting shops like Mountain Warehouse, Saltrock, Mango Surf, and even a barber if you need a trim on your journey! Good place to break up a long journey with plenty of choice. Would stop again if passing through.

NOT HAPPY AT ALL, I understand improvements are being to Toilets but they Should of partitioned them off with at least paper / board. being watched well washing by a young man, if I had my daughter with me I'd not be impressed. Most would have covered area OFF.. !!

Great services. Would be great though if we had KFC or something else instead of taco bell. I heard raising caines is coming to UK I think that would be awesome to see down here in Cornwall.

Love this place, quick stop for shopping and/or food. You can find Co-Op here, McDonald's, Subway, Cornish pasty counter, Costa, oven pizza and more. Toilets clean. Spacious parking. Baby station with microwave and water station to fill your bottle. Nice! I found only one issue: after 7:30pm (my last visit) half of the shops are closed.

The newly refurbished seatings area is well designed, which makes the whole restaurant look great 👍 The ordering area is well presented and organised. Love the new upgraded toilets as well! The recycling ♻️ area is very well presented with clear information and beautifully designed. The staff on duty were welcoming, friendly, and efficient. The zinger burgers are freshly prepared and delicious 😋 ; I'm just disappointed that the hot wings are overcooked and dry.

I almost feel guilty leaving a one star review because the staff are excellent and the service is very good.... However I am dissatisfied with an aspect of the food... amongst my order, I ordered a chicken fillet burger meal... This was very disappointing... It was basically one mini fillet in a bun with mayo and lettuce... It was exactly the same as a mini fillet but just a bigger bun... Whatever happened to the lovely proper chicken fillet they used to put in these burgers?? My one little mini fillet lost in a normal size bun!.... I understand why they have put prices up and I support this, but I now think that the value for money has completely gone... One mini fillet lost in a normal size bun with mayo, lettuce and a few warm chips and a drink for £8.49 is poor value....

A large group of us ordered food together tonight with the bill totalling over £120. 2 of the meals that arrived were incorrect and 2 didnt arrive at all. When we rang to complain the shift captain told us he couldn't refund the meals or send any out for delivery and that we had to apply fir a refund in the website.... Absolutely shocking. We're over 30 quid out of pocket, 2 people didn't get their meals (apart from what others shared and 2 meals weren't eaten cause they were ordered withou mayo and arrive smothered in it. Won't be ordering anything again very disappointing

Shocking! Waited almost 40 minutes and even then most of the food wasnt even freshly cooked. Chips warm, and it wasnt massively busy and loads of peoples numbers who came after us were called up before. .Its a shame as this KFC is usually very quick. Different Manager seemed to be on who was clueless. Then we got moaned at they were closing in 5 minutes so anyone sat in the restaurant had to leave. The managers time keeping seemed on point when it came to going home! Shame the same enthusiasm couldnt be applied to her workplace. It wouldn't of been so bad if we hadn't got there almost an hour before they closed with the intention of sitting in, but due to the lengthy wait (which no staff apologised for or warned us about in the first place) We barely started our food then told we all had to leave.

Was told that St Austell kfc “does not do gravy” ? Two weeks ago when I came in I had a gravy with no issue. Just seems very odd and strange as many people love the gravy and it’s a classic menu item. The man who served us was a bit rude and didn’t ask anyone else about the gravy situation 🤷‍♀️

Good was really good service took a while but we did have a large order so it wasn't a unacceptable wait. The disappointment was the lack of bins in the carpark.

Ordered online , found via Google. Easy enough to order and collection time was spot on. Pleasant looking shop and staff helpful. Children's meals well priced and portion size good for young teens. Adult size large cod was a bit thin and more tail end. Price was on the cheaper side for fish and chips these days but quality obviously reflected in the lower price. Chips had a fair few green / eyes in them not too bad but not the best. Zero gluten free options advertised at time of visit.

We are on holiday and thought we would try haddock and chips for two. Very disappointed with the quality of fish, it was watery and not hot in the middle mushy in consistency. Chips were average at best.

6.5/10 No qualms with haddock at price point, £6.20, chips however for £2.80 as some reviews detail a mix of fresh and old refried, not what you want. Curry sauce nearly £2 underwealming flavour and volume. No rush to return

ordered a mega mess for £7 and they’ve gave me a very small amount of chips , i usually buy from here and a mega mess is usually twice the size . the chips were also undercooked , not happy

The Cod was nicely cooked and very tasty however the chips were overcooked and greasy. Quite on the pricey side too.

Sent my son in for large fish chips,regular fish &chips curry sauce and battered sausage come to nearly £30 and when we got it home the fish were like small and it was just a handful of chips definitely not large and some of the chips were hard,we did ring right at the end of the day but on Google it said they shut at 8pm so we thought we still had time to order,they should of refused if they only had the scraps left because that what we got for £30 will never go back it was just greed!!! UPDATE!! Well maybe you should have a word with your staff because when I phoned up to place the order I asked for a LARGE fish and chips and they never corrected me that you don’t do large and what size your fish actually was like you have in your comment and you clearly don’t like the feed back I’ve given or you wouldn’t of got defensive about it and replied back trying to justify the poor portion’s we were given,no business likes negative feed back but you ask for a review and I’m gonna be honest and if we were happy and satisfied with our experience you would of got a good review but that’s life🤷🏼‍♀️ Looking forward to your response 😀

Criticism should be used constructively and seen as an opportunity to seek improvement. PS You've done me a favour by banning me as I always regret it when I come in; always such an unwelcoming atmosphere. Take a trip to the Old Forge at Bugle for some learning.

I've not been to Trebonney chippy for a long time because the service wasn't good, A friend asked me if I would like fish and chips last night and I thought that it sounds good but it definitely wasn't, I had hake and chips, the hake was very rubbery and chewy like it had been over cooked in a microwave the chips weren't much better, I won't be going back unfortunately.

We have been having fish and chips from here for around 22 years, they have always been excellent. We live in Lostwithiel, which is a 30 mile-ish round trip, bypassing numerous other chippies along the route. If that doesn't tell you how good this place is, nothing will.

The person I normally see on the register is quite rude, this time it was a different person but i have to say it for myself, it’s quite pricy for the portion size and the food gave a family member food poisoning so bad she’s had to go to the hospital. I don’t like to leave bad reviews or reviews in general but this is appalling, Would never recommend.

Spot the issue with this Bacon double cheeseburger. Well done, no bacon! Fries also cold. Not the first time and the reason why I seldom buy food from here any more. Just not worth the hassle of going back to complain.

Exceptionally quick compared to other McDonald's, and I've never had any issues with my orders. From placing the order on the app to being served, the time is consistently 120 seconds at most. Staff are friendly - I've always been greeted with a smile. The only issue I have, as with all McDonald's, is the lack of vegetarian options, and the inability to add normal cheese to the plant-based burger.

Got my order wrong twice. Went back and got the correct order, as I was given someone elses food, checked in the car before driving away, and again had the wrong item. After sorting it out, I returned back to our camp site 5 mins up the road, and food was lukewarm to eat, and fries were cold. I so I returned again and was told by someone else I should have said something at the window. I'm not impressed, and when I requested the manager, I was told there was no one about at that time.

Food cold. Table service server did not bring any stirrers, sugar or milk for our tea and coffee, and when we asked about it, he had a look of confusion like it was the first time he had ever been asked to do this. No dips for the nuggets as well despite ordering it in the McDonalds app. No serviettes. I had to go to counter just to get all these things and then they only give a paltry amount - 2 sugars and 2 serviettes. Even though we are a party of 4. One of the worst McDonalds we’ve been to.

Not really happy with the overall meal, parked up & waited about 15 minutes for the meal to arrive at the car to then go & drive home, after arriving home after a 5 minute drive, we realised that items that we’ve ordered & paid for, wasn’t in either of the bags, fries were stone cold & hard, and chicken nuggets was mildly warm… - not the first time that it’s happened and never wanted to leave a negative review as I work in hospitality myself but we didn’t order a complicated meal for them too be missed. Extremely disappointed overall.

A worker named sophie offered some water because it was very hot today to me and fixed a order that was wrong. She must get some sort of reward for this since it’s not that often you get offered this.

Absolutely appalling meal. The food was uneatable. The chips in particular were dry, chewey, and brown but were grey through the middle. Extremely expensive family treat turned into a heated argument with staff. Will not be going here again! I will be reporting this company to Trading Standards, the Local Authority, as well as VISA as the partial refund offered doesn't even come close to compensating for the food thrown away let alone the experiene! Zero Stars. Go Elsewhere..

Oh my, finally found a solution for dinner after working a very long hospital shift. Their burgers, absolutely delicious, in fact I wanted another! Gorgeous fish n chips too. You can ring ahead so there’s no waiting time. Perfect

After an amazing day out, driving here was the best choice we could make!!! Dinner was awesome ! Really great service with a smile, so helpful and patient. The food was everything we hoped for and more! Memories of childhood with pea fritters and fish that melted in your mouth, home made onion rings and everything cooked to perfection and topped with homemade tartare sauce. Ordered on-line - yes, on-line - & my order was ready on collection & warm. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Great. The fish was FRESH (fantastic) & the chips perfect! I prefer a crispier fish batter, so sadly can only give 4/5 for the food.

Batter and chips well overcooked. Cod was mediocre - well overpriced! Nothing special - don't sit in it's not worth the price hike. Not for us. Side note - not being in the area the staff failed to mention the new AI camera that picks up phone use and seatlbelts that's live as you pull out of their road!

No mention of price on the review list or value for money which I feel is important. I visited there two weeks ago. When buying food I always ask myself, could I do it myself? Sadly the answer was yes on this occasion. And not just yes but better. It was literally some cut salad and meat thrown between two slices of bread. And it cost more than a fiver! A fiver!!!!!

Only place in Mevagissey to get sandwiches. Delicious, with fresh bread from local bakers. I had a pepper hummus and chilli salad sandwich. Lattes also nice and mellow, homemade cake too.

I called in for a lite snack and locally sourced prawns and I left with what I can only describe as Perfect. The sandwich was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. The Sauce was fresh, as was the salad. Great service. Thank you

Proper Fish and Chips served up by some proper Bugle Maids. First visited here 22 years ago and under Rex. The Ultimate fish and chips are just the right size for someone who likes a good whale and chips. Barely touched the sides as I wholly enjoyed the fish, chips, mushy peas and a drink. Such a shame, we always have great food from here. I understand it was busy, but I phoned 1hour 15 after I placed the order to see where our delivery was as it stated it would be between 40-60 minutes and was told it was on the way. 45 mins later still no food, so I phoned again to cancel, to be told again that it was on the way. I still cancelled the order.

Used this take away as our go to but not any more on latest visit the ribs just didn't taste right on previous visits they had been lovely but not this last visit they just didn't taste right at all, and unfortunately I won't be revisiting I will try somewhere else now, Shame!!!

The vegetable stir fry was horrible and very greasy, and my partners beef rice and prawn stir fry, were appalling. Definitely not recommend for anybody to try it. And the prices were high for the quality of the food

Ordered £60 worth of takeaway whilst visiting family, the lady behind the counter was very friendly. I have to say it is the worse Chinese I have ever had. The shredded beef tasted fishy the prawn balls were so dry. The rice was so dry and had no flavour and the fat on the duck was unbelievable compared to other chineses i have had. Both me and partner by the evening felt sick. I don't normally right reviews but this was so bad I felt I had to as its not fair paying top money for sub standard quality in my opinion.

Used to always get my pizzas delivered from Roche Star but changed to here this year and never looking back. Great food, always hot, bigger pizzas and better quality cheese. Drivers are so polite and friendly. One day I will try the other food they offer but for now I'm just hooked on the pizza lol

This place is actually really nice. Contrary to many other reviews the sizes are good and for the quality and portion size I think the prices are reasonable. Lots of choice and you can really make it your own. Just because it may look like somewhere you may not want to step foot in, after many times of being there that feeling has long gone. The staff are polite and they really aren't slow, I waited longer in McDonalds, and SAK have online orders too. That in itself has had its own fair share of bad reviews, but the prices on there other than other restaurants online are price matched to in-store, I checked. For reference a large wrap and donner kebab, chips and cheesy chips is the same price as a can, a litre bottle, and the above food minus the chips plus delivery. I think this is a good restaurant keeping non chain takeaways in a moderate market area reputable.

Absolutely disgusting service, our food had over 2 and a half hours late (I called 17 times for an updated but the called wasn’t answered over that period of time, expected delivery time was 15 minutes) food arrived cold and greasy. Unable to contact the complain as the phone isn’t answered. The food was ordered by a food delivery app. Total waste of money

Placed an order online to be notified that it was 65 mins for delivery, after 2 hours were still waiting for our food, after calling the takeaway numerous times with no answer. 2 and half hours later driver turns up with our food which was then cold so we declined and asked for a refund this is no kind of service. Won't be ordering again.

We buy from here often and the food is always incredible. However, delivery can be incredibly slow. Sometimes it’s here within an hour, sometimes we wait nearly two hours. Sometimes they don’t answer the phone when we call to see where the food is.

This was a good pizza made in a proper Woodford pizza oven. Certainly not the best pizza I've ever had, not the best value, but think it's only fair to judge it as a million miles better than what you'd normally get in a service station!

Rude and nasty staff! Don't know why you allow such rude 'kids' to be the face of your business? Cold food and attitude when I took it back, she's lucky she didn't get a SLAP! After she stuck her finger into my food then then said the toppings were making the hotdog cold, I had Chilli on the cold dog! I then got my money back, well slammed down on the counter, if that's the same? The gentleman stood next to me was shocked by her attitude that he walked away! Maybe you need polite staff that actually want to work instead of jumped up kids with attitude! 😡

So tasty, fresh and fine , boy did I have an incredibly nice pizza here , far superior to the samey old boring commercial Giants with Americanized fast food rations,served up in a soulless bun. I almost didn't stop at the services because the advertising board with all the various nefarious companies wishing to hock me some unhealthy processed food was glaring at me down the motorway. Luckily for me I needed some overpriced fuel and a wee so I stopped . The surprise was that the open oven pizza place was there and they hadn't shoved a 20meter high neon sign down my throat to get me there either but they were offering delicious fresh pizza , also gluten free and vegan options which is outstanding and highly commendable , I opted for a vegan pizza with olives and artichokes and I was very happy with it, the stonebaked crust was perfect thin and crispy and very tasty , the staff were friendly too, polite and nice to talk to , if only the service station had opted to host this company solely . Keep wishing for a better future, one in which the open oven pizza people are a big part . thankyou

Just had Two Burgers and Chips from Harts.. Wow.. Never tasted anything like it.. Burgers so very nice done just the way I like.. Its so pleasing that they are so near to me, just few minutes walk.. me and my partner have ordered from here before and normally pretty good,but our experience last night was extremely terrible!! we had my mum and dad over for food and we ordered more food than we would normally order. the lady on the phone taking the order immediately thought we was ordering too much food as we have ordered from there before and it's just me and my partner but we had guest, and she thought it was a joke and put the phone down on us! my partner then walked down to the shop to then being shouted at across the counter by a woman to say they was busy how rude!! all the people in there had an attitude will not order from here again as they shouldnt be speaking to there customers like that!!!

Very good staff Honest people I'm a Muslim and I went in the place and asked if the oil they cooked in was mixed in with everything they was honest and replied that we use the same scoop to pick everything up hw honest can you Did not eat from there but i would recommend as they are true and honest people. This used to be a great spot, but the one member of staff working there (usually on the till) doesn't appear to cope well with the pressure from the high footfall this establishment gets. Today, I witnessed him make several mistakes with orders, which is perfectly understandable, but he then proceeded to punch the wall in front of all the customers.

What a joke this place is. Subway have it your way, just don’t expect it warm 😂 Ordered one Tex Mex foot long toasted and one Tuna Mayo not toasted on the self service machine and then proceeded to wait. More people came in after me and ordered at the counter while both of my subways were sat on the counter half made up already toasted and going cold !!! The staff then carried on serving two other orders that came in after me and they left. When I finally got my two subways I ordered I asked the staff member why people who ordered after me and another guy who also used the self service machine got served before us and his response was I dunno. I Think they either need new staff or they need better training or just bigger premises so they can have more staff working on the counter. When I finally got home we realised the Tuna Mayo Subway was soggy and limp. Should have gone to McDonald’s instead 😂

Visited on 8th Sept 2025 at about 6pm. I asked a polite trainee for 2 hot chocolates. He asked a senior member of staff how to use the machine and I overheard him say in a rude aggressive manner that a 'cappuccino is as close as he can have'. The trainee didn't even know what to say and just apologised and said the machine was out of order. Subway seriously needs to give there staff customer service training. It's been getting steadily worse for a couple of years now. They also need to learn the menu. It's a shame. It's ran by rude 'kids' now. Sort it out Subway!!

We visit here about 3 times a week .it's always been good.today there was only to staff a newish manager and fairly new girl. it got really busy and it was hard to keep up with customers. we saw a few leave .also there were some annoyed faces .I feel for the staff has there is lots to do .prep the food do specific items .it's Friday half-term it's busy. There should be more staff.sat evening they were low on certain breads,no hash browns .I don't like hearing people moaning .we think the staff work very hard .there are new ones learning and training it takes time .get more staff in the holidays.

The place is filthy with almost every table covered with previous inhabitants crumbs despite 4 people working and very few customers. Sandwich filled badly. No napkins given and asked if I wanted a bag even though I’d selected eat in. All compounded by the light bulb above your head flickering. Not pleasant after a long drive.

This is the second time in just over aweek weeks have been to there 1st time they had completely run out of bread which the should never do the 2nd time I only got half fill8ng it was slapped Ed in the middle but not spread the service was terrible

The food here was very good and a very pleasant surprise. In Cornwall there are plenty of kebab shops but are usually overpriced and low quality but the food here was very nice. The staff were lovely as well. And its all Halal! Would definitely recommend

Have to say this is the best kebab I've had in Cornwall. 1st time I've been and won't go anywhere else from now on... The take away looked very clean and staff were really friendly. Also accommodated my unhealthy addiction for pickled peppers 🌶 🌶🌶

Best kebab I've had so far in Cornwall. I had the mix of chicken and doner kebab with salad. My kids had the same and my daughter had a lamb doner kebab. Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Very flavoursome. Separate salad was lovely to have as it kept the kebab warm and the option to have the sauce in a separate pot. Im from St Ives it's unfortunate this place isn't local to me.

Iv eaten in with family and also had takeaway / delivery service and the food and service doesn’t disappoint. All the staff are welcoming and friendly and the food is all fresh and cooked to order. I would totally recommend a visit or place an order for delivery as you won’t be disappointed or beaten on price for the quantity you get.

Staying in st Austell , amazing pizza I think best in Cornwall but must get the side sauces. Chicken shish was perfectly cooked and marinated. Wife and kids loved it

Had a large Lamb Donna Kebab last night and I have to say it was fantastic service was great food was even better 👍
