American restaurant
Magnolia Table is a popular dining spot in Waco, Texas, known for its breakfast and lunch offerings made with locally sourced ingredients from nearby gardens and farms. The restaurant, owned by celebrity couple Chip and Joanna Gaines, is housed in a historical landmark that was once the Elite Cafe on the Circle. With its charming setting and delicious food, Magnolia Table attracts both locals and visitors from across the country. The menu features southern-inspired dishes, including a renowned chicken salad available for takeout.
We decided to make the drive from Dallas while visiting, and it was definitely worth it! 👏🏼 The biscuits + honey butter are exceptional! A must get for your appetizer. We shared the signature smash burger and it was delicious. The Brussels sprouts!!…SO GOOD. Don’t be fooled by the dark crispy color, these are incredible. Service was amazing as well! Shout out to Loren for making our experience so welcoming. 🫶🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First time visit here while I was in Austin. The atmosphere was quaint and cute. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The server was a wonderful young lady and very friendly! The best thing we ate was the appetizer of maple bacon & deviled eggs... absolutely hands down the BEST 👌 10 OUT OF 10! The other food we got was good but the eggs and bacon app was the show!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Magnolia Table is truly a special experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with that signature Magnolia charm that makes you feel right at home. The staff was attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. The food was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The biscuits and strawberry butter are a must-try, and every dish we ordered felt like it was made with care and attention to detail. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and delicious. What really stood out was how everything—from the décor to the menu—felt thoughtful and intentional. It’s not just a place to eat, it’s an experience that leaves you smiling long after you leave. I highly recommend Magnolia Table to anyone visiting Waco. Whether it’s breakfast with family or brunch with friends, this is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Definitely make a reservation! My son ordered Jo's crunchy French toast with over easy eggs and bacon, my sister and I ordered the Farm house breakfast and we had coffee. Everything was SO good. The French toast was the favorite. The bacon is very good too. We were seated at 10:20 am, and our reservation was at 10:30 am today. Service was very good and the food was delicious! We loved the atmosphere! The plant boxes everywhere were very nice. The restrooms were very clean and they had an attendant in there to keep it clean. We appreciated that there wasn't music playing in the background. You could just hear the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant and the conversations of people enjoying a meal together. We will make sure Magnolia Table is part of our annual trip to Silobration!

Came here for the first time for a quick brunch, and also because I was curious about this place I watched on Fixer Upper years ago. Perhaps because it was a Tuesday, it was very easy to make a 12.30pm reservation last minute. Still, the place was full when I got there, and I felt lucky to find a spot right away in the parking lot. Upon entering, I found the place quite large and bright, although the hostess could be a bit more welcoming to guests. Once seated, service and food came quickly, and my server was excellent. I ordered the avocado toast with a poached egg, and a pumpkin spiced latte with soy milk. Perhaps paying $16.50 for one slice of toast with no sides was a bit expensive, I was pleasantly surprised that it was super tasty, and the sourdough bread was nice and soft, just the way I liked it. The pumpkin spiced latte was a bit too sweet for me, but the flavor was good. All in all, it was a very nice experience and I would certainly recommend this place for brunch.

Beautiful restaurant! The staff was amazing! Food was good, but not exactly that "next level" I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it was good, and I would go back. I guess with all the hype I was expecting more. But overall its an awesome dining experience. I suggest reservations. It was packed when we arrived and the seated us immediately.

Here in Waco with my daughter for the weekend and we planned dinner here, I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and our waitress was amazing, exception service. We had the chicken biscuit sliders for our appetizer and it did not disappoint, I ordered the steak frites but subbed the blue cheese sauce for the chimichurri sauce and also subbed the fries for the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were a ok, my steak was unevenly cooked (I like medium rare) and a bit chewy/tough, but I'm a hard critic when it comes to steak, the chimichurri sauce was amazing!! My daughter had the bucatini pasta and that was perfect! Overall food and service was good I would definitely come back but I would just choose a different main entree! very good, however

Cannot say enough positive words about Magnolia Table. Now folks, Magnolia Table, and the Silos including Magnolia Market have come to be quite the destinations in Waco, and we knew that going in. So, we made reservatioons at Magnolia Table for 2:00pm on a weekday. When we arrived about 15 minutes early we were seated within 5 minutes. Had a VERY pleasant server. We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich (Her) and I had the French Toast Crunch. Photos of both attached. Both meals were EXCELLENT. Our only complaints (an observation more than complaint) was that the portions were HUGE. My wife didn't fininsh her side of potatoes, and I really struggled with my French Toast. The couple next to us (had a nice chat with them during the meal) left 1/2 their food on the plates. So, 5 stars for Magnolia Table. The place was spotless, waitress was very pleasant, food was excellent, and restrooms were tidy. Like I said, make reservations well in advance if possible, and yeah ... you'll likely be dining in a full restaurant.

Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Restaurant
Baris, also known as Baris III, is a beloved Italian restaurant located in Waco, Texas. Established in 1980, it is a family-owned eatery that draws inspiration from the recipes of Mama Baris. The casual and friendly ambiance has made it a popular spot for locals to enjoy traditional pasta dishes and delectable pizzas. With an easygoing BYOB setup, patrons can savor classic Italian flavors while enjoying their favorite beverages.
This was our first time eating here, and after our experience, we will definitely be back. The food was delicious, authentic! We ate there and ordered dinner to go. Lol! Our waiter/server Tacho was THE best part. He was absolutely amazing and very accommodating! If you are looking for an Italian spot...try Baris!❤️
Rae R — Google review
This restaurant brought pure happiness to my husband, and that’s no small feat. He grew up in New York and has spent years searching for authentic Italian food in Texas, but nothing has ever come close... until now. We had the Italian sausage with peppers, Dee’s special, garlic bread topped with tomatoes and cheese, and the olive oil dipping sauce. All were amazing! Every bite reminded him of home, and the entire experience was enhanced by the incredibly reasonable prices and the warm, friendly service that made us feel at home. We left full, content, and already planning our return. This place is a gem—and will be a must-stop every time we visit our daughter at Baylor.

Baris is a true gem in Waco, Texas! From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed by an authentic Italian atmosphere that feels like home. The legacy of recipes passed down from the founder’s mother is evident in every dish. Everything is homemade, from the amazing bread and marinara to the mouthwatering entrees. I highly recommend the pasta sampler, along with the fried mushrooms, the Hawaiian pizza, the tortellini, and the shrimp – each one is a standout! Plus, the restaurant is BYOB, making it even more special. And a big shoutout to Sierra, the waitstaff member, who always goes above and beyond. If you’re in Waco, Baris is a must-visit!

Food was excellent, but getting there and picking it up was another story. Bumper to bumper parking Saturday night, 8 people sitting waiting outside just for a table inside. We were grateful to get in and out with our to go order. Best of both worlds! Interior was nothing special, but the food makes up for it!
Valerie F — Google review
Wow! The only way to put it...wow! This place was amazing. Definitely our new favorite Italian restaurant. The chicken parm, lasagna, cheese sticks, and so much more was exceptional. We had 6 in our party and everyone was blown away with the quality of food, the taste, and amazing service. Definitely make plans to eat here if in Waco!
DaFlash — Google review
I ordered food for takeout and was pleasantly surprised with the generous portions and tasty food. I ordered the Murphy with chicken and shrimp, plus a side of grilled chicken. One thing worth noting, the side of marinated chicken was better than the chicken in the Murphy.

Took my mother for lunch on Saturday. Spaghetti and meatball special – you cannot beat the price for roll, salad and entrée, $7. Taste good. Our server Vanessa was wonderful -Attentive to my elderly, Heart Of, hearing mother. Made her outing, a good one for her..

We were seated without much delay, which was nice. The Tortellini Pink Pasta was perfect. It was cooked just right and tasted amazing. The Baris Florentine Pizza was average and nothing extraordinary. I would definitely visit again just for the Tortellini Pink Pasta!

Hamburger restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Restaurant
Health Camp Burgers and Shakes is a nostalgic roadside eatery that has been delighting taste buds since 1948. This charming burger joint in Waco, Texas, offers a delightful menu featuring classic burgers and hot dogs, all complemented by an array of shakes, malts, and frozen custard. It's the perfect spot for families looking to indulge in some delicious fast food while enjoying the retro ambiance.
Health Camp – A Waco Institution Old-School Charm, Big-Time Flavor Health Camp has been holding down the fort on Waco’s Circle for decades, serving up nostalgia with a side of crispy onion rings and thick shakes. It’s the kind of place where the griddle’s been seasoned by time, and the menu stays simple because, well—why mess with perfection? The Burger: Smash-Style Satisfaction The cheeseburger here leans into that classic smash burger aesthetic—100% Angus ground chuck, seared just right to give it that crispy outer edge while staying juicy inside. No gimmicks, just beef done right. Mustard, onions, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and tomato—all stacked onto a perfectly toasted bun. The mustard gives it that Texas tang, cutting through the richness, while the crisp veggies bring balance. At nine bucks, you’re paying a little extra, but you’re also getting a burger with real beefy character. Onion Rings: Golden Crunch Perfection Skip the fries—this is an onion ring kind of place. They come out thick-cut and fried to an ideal crunch, the batter light but substantial. No limp, greasy afterthoughts here. These rings are the real deal, seasoned just enough to keep you reaching for the next one. Banana Pudding Shake: Southern Sweetness in a Cup Now, let’s talk about that shake. If you love banana pudding, this one’s a winner. It’s got that rich banana flavor, the kind that doesn’t taste artificial but instead reminds you of a homemade dessert. The real magic? The vanilla wafer crumbs dusted on top, with a few surprise wafers hidden inside, giving it that classic banana pudding texture. Cold, creamy, and just the right amount of thick—this one’s a must. Final Verdict Health Camp is more than just a burger joint—it’s a Waco staple, a slice of Texas history on a buttered bun. You’ll pay a little extra for the nostalgia, but you’ll also leave satisfied, knowing that places like this still exist. Whether you’re craving a classic burger, crispy onion rings, or a shake that tastes like dessert straight from grandma’s kitchen, Health Camp delivers.

Quaint cute little local diner. Always great and fresh hamburgers, the best milkshakes, fries or onion rings served with a smile. Always clean and usually busy but it was not when we went this evening. Was nice to get in and have a choice of tables. There’s nothing on the menu that isn’t delicious and it’s something soothing about enjoying your food pretty much prepared right in front of you when you’re at the counter. Definitely recommended and and a frequent stop for my family.

Burgers hold up to their myth. Best tasting burgers Ive had in Texas.Friendly staff member. I forgot to take a picture of the burger and grilled cheese...it was SO good. I highly recommend this joint. They did over a vegan burger- Beyond meat version-- did not try.
Rhoda M — Google review
I got the double bacon jalapeño cheeseburger with tator tots and a strawberry malt. The malt I didn’t get a picture of because that quickly bring that out to you first so you can enjoy while you wait! I firmly believe in dessert first because you never know when Christ is coming back! I love the atmosphere which is a very old school vibe. The quality of the food was great. Definitely was not the over processed normal fast food joints. The service was quick and very friendly. Quick to accommodate! I came back a second time the same day to get my boyfriend a take out for his lunch (night shift). I most definitely recommend!
Karine W — Google review
Built in 1949 by successful food cart operators at the old James Connally Air Force base now owned by TSTC and leased by L3Harris. This burger joint is one of the best in town. Their buns are expertly toasted and soft divided by quality 100% ground angus chuck patties!
Madelyn S — Google review
Front desk lady was rude. Ordered tator tots with my burger but they forgot the tots. When I eventually got them, they were burnt. The staff gets mad when you complain. I guess because it’s just college kids here. Burger was okay. Seems like they use Kraft cheese.
DeJa C — Google review
Love this place. Best burger I have had in a long time!!! Looks like an old time Bürger joint (think Varsity in Atlanta but much smaller). Will be going back!
Robin S — Google review
I was craving a great burger from a local joint and knew there was no place better than Health Camp Burgers and Shakes! They’ve been around for quite some time and you know the quality you’ll get here. You have to get a shake; there are many options. I went with a root beer shake and it was delicious.

Bar
George’s Restaurant Bar & Catering is a long-standing Waco establishment that has been serving up classic American dishes and drinks since the 1930s. It's a popular spot for locals, college students, and Baylor fans, especially on game days. The restaurant offers a hearty menu featuring items like chicken-fried steak, burgers, and their famous Big O beer. With multiple high-definition screens throughout the venue, George’s ensures that patrons never miss any sports action while enjoying their meal or drinks.
Killer burgers and sandwiches at a good price. They use sweet buns and all the toppings are fresh. Quality beef and chicken. Large portion - didn’t feel like they skimped on anything but it wasn’t impossible to eat either. Sweet potato fries were burnt and unseasoned, so avoid those, but everything else was great. Service was good, food was great, price was right. Worth stopping by if you’re in town.
Matthew L — Google review
I r heard great things about this place and was encouraged to stop here should I ever come back to Waco. I have to say it was worth it. The appetizers were amazing. Onion Rings, Fried Pickles and Chicken Fried Steak is very delicious. I too would highly recommend this place. I know there may be a wait but the food and service is good.
Bruce C — Google review
What a surprise! I have never been here before and what an amazing first experience! Chicken Fried Steak was superb! Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Cream gravy poured over that and my garlic mashed potatoes next to some green beans! Heaven! I added a side of broccoli and rice casserole which was the best I’ve ever had and apparently a customer favorite. Rolls and cornbread, yum! Peach Cobbler and two scoops of ice cream closed this one out! Best meal I’ve had in Waco, by far. Stephanie was my server. She was amazing and never let me be in need. Give that gal a raise! So glad I found this place! 😋
Bill B — Google review
A Waco classic meet-up for reliable food, simple drinks, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I had the spinach salad with chicken and it was excellent! Well seasoned chicken over fresh spinach with bacon, mushrooms, and purple onion. I had ranch and balsamic served on the side. Perfect blend of flavors and a hearty serving size. Hubby had the crazy wings-chicken breast with cheese and a slice of pickled jalapeño inside, all neatly wrapped in bacon! Served fresh with ranch for dipping. (The chicken could have used a little seasoning before being wrapped up, just to bring more flavors, but it was still tasty.) Food was served quickly. Server was friendly. We went on a Tuesday night and there was no wait! They have a large menu to satisfy anything you might be craving. Definitely stop by next time you are in town. Just a couple blocks off I-35.
Amanda L — Google review
George’s is our tried-and-true spot whenever we head to a Baylor game! We’ve been coming here since 2000, and it’s become a family tradition that my wife and daughters absolutely love. The food never disappoints, the atmosphere is always welcoming, and those schooners of ice-cold beer are clutch every single time. Consistently great and always a highlight of our trips to Waco!
Jason H — Google review
Recommended by a local friend, we were not disappointed at this restaurant! Great, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Wide variety of items on the menu and VERY AFFORDABLE - we are already planning what we'll have on our return visit! 😀 my wife settled on the Cry Baby Burger w onion rings, and I on the lunch special Chicken Fried Steak. I have to say, the onion rings were probably some of the best we've had. She loved the burger and the homemade jalapeño bun. I thought the green beans were also tops on my list, and the CFS breading was just as tasty as the breading on those onion rings. However, the meat was about 80% the size of the breading. It was still so tasty it was good by itself! The gravy was nothing special, though. I wish it was homemade, but it tastes like a generic powder mix. Creamy, but not much flavor. All in all, this is a wonderful place, with the managers walking around greeting customers and attentive servers. We'll definitely be back ! - UPDATE: We're back again, and everything was still sooo delicious! Nephew's Chicken was my attempt at a "lighter" dish (which it was!). The mixed veggies were cooked to perfection! My daughter's Steak Finger's from the kids menu were an awesome deal! That breading is out of this world! And the fried mushrooms probably the best we've had. Once again, thank you for another great meal and such great value! 🍻❤️👍
Jorge V — Google review
The food here is great, but I wanted some of their amazing onion rings to munch on for my drive to Ft Worth. I walked in to order, and it took sooooooooo long to get them. I literally waited 25 minutes. They also have some t-shirts for sale in the front waiting area, I think I memorized them all waiting. Lol Maybe ordering ahead is a better option, because they were not even busy inside and like 4 people were standing up front chatting. But, the rings were super delicious as always. A full order can feed a lot of folks. The stars are for the food only, not the service but I know the front has nothing to do with the cook time.

Onion rings, chicken fried steak, broccoli salad, and rolls were very good. I did not care for the fish, cole slaw, nor the burnt sweet potatoes.

Nestled in downtown Waco, Clay Pot Restaurant is a hidden gem offering a laid-back atmosphere and authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The extensive menu features classic Asian staples like sesame chicken and fried rice, but it's the specialties such as vermicelli and pho that truly stand out. With influences from both North and South Vietnam, this eatery presents a unique dining experience with an array of vegetarian and vegan options.
What a fantastic vietnamese spot! It's not a high end place, but it is so cute, well decorated, and fairly priced seemingly kind of spot. I ordered the special soup with beef and it was good! I wish it had a tad more veggies/mushrooms/meat to noodles. My husband had the deluxe pho and liked it. The menu has a lot of great looking options and I would want to return to try more!
Arianna T — Google review
First time and thought what the heck why don't I try The Clay Pot entree because after all it is The Clay Pot restaurant. They put so much beef in it that I had to ask if they put double beef. Nope I guess they just put a generous amount of beef in their entrees as a default. Mostly affordable for anybody on a budget and our food came out within 15 minutes ...not too bad.

Can you really get amazing Gluten Free Vietnamese food in Waco, TX? Yes, you can at Clay Pot! We started our meal with Gluten Free Pork Fried Egg Rolls. They were so delicious we had to order another serving!!! For our entrees, we selected Pineapple Fried Rice, Shrimp Fried Rice and Chicken Bun Xoa. All were delicious!!! So if you are in Waco for a weekend getaway or are a local, make the trip to Clay Pot in Downtown Waco. You will be glad you did!!!!

Thai tea + green thai tea are not sweet whatsoever and very watered down. (maybe 25% sweetness) They no longer have boba btw. Pho was SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. Unfortunately, they have 1 size and it is like a small. There IS NO THAI BASIL or no basil at all. Also no lime nor bean sprouts. Just a bowl of pho with cilantro already in it. The noodles were too soft (overcooked) For me, that is not pho if there is no basil. Broth is not it. I can also smell as if tripe in it. The bowl itself is $13 and any meat added is +$2. For $15 and size: pls drive to Sugar Spice 17 minutes away. Stans Clay pot was mid. Nothing special abt it. My husband actually didn't enjoy it. In all, would not go back. Just very dissatisfied abt the food. Service and atmosphere is ok.

The handmade bread, toasted to perfection on the outside while remaining fluffy inside, elevates the sandwich experience. Located on 5th street, it's a must-visit lunch spot with daily baked bread.
Loved this local sandwich shop with some history! Sandwiches were delish, served warm with homemade bread, garlic butter, and melted cheese. A must try!

During lunch it was quite busy but there were a few open tables. Their sandwiches come toasted fresh from the oven and are flavorful, but they skimp on the deli meat. For $10+ a sandwich, it seemed a little expensive.

A neat old school sandwich shop. It gets busy, but the food comes out quickly. I had the roast beef. It was good. The bread was interesting. Apparently, it's all made on site and reminded me a little of sourdough.

So looking for a nice sandwich on road to Austin. Found this place and real happy we did. Sandwiches great. Bread is really wonderful and everything on the sandwiches plentiful and fresh. Soups (brocolli cheese for me wisconsin cheese with ham for her) very nice and accompanied with nice rolls. Meal deals for both of us came with free sodas. Nice place, clean and relaxed. Next time in Waco - definitely a stop.

Schmaltz's has delicious sandwiches that are not too filling and come on warm, crunchy buns. We enjoyed both the turkey and the cheese sandwich. Despite a lunchtime line the orders moved fairly quickly and there always seemed to be a table open. The shop is in the middle of downtown and I'm ready walking distance of desert or coffee afterwards.

The smell of fresh bread lets you know your appetite is in good hands here. Pride in their product shows from start to finish. If you have any questions, the helpful counter people cheerfully answer them and make spot on recommendations. You can't go wrong with their signature sandwich and a bag of chips or slaw, if you prefer. They do a booming take away business, and it's interesting to watch all the people come and go. Be a little patient; your freshly make sandwich will come and it will be worth the wait. All the locals go here.

These guys are the best! They've been around forever and the food is always A+ consistent. I always get the chef salad with double meat, but the regular chef salad still has plenty. They packed my to-go bowl so full that I turned it upside down on a plate to break it up. When I did this, it turned into this upside-down salad cake thing that I thought was hilarious! It was absolutely delicious as usual. I thought the employees would get a kick out of this so I'm including a pic of the "cake". P.S. Please refer to the actual pictures of their salads on other reviews before you judge their product. They are beautiful.

This is such a cool, friendly sandwich place - just a couple of blocks from the Dr Pepper Museum. The perfect place for a filling lunch after visiting the museum. Their namesake sandwich - the Schmaltz sandwich - sounds absolutely delicious but I didn’t try it (not a ham eater). Instead I had their veggie sandwich on the jalapeño cheese bread. Really good! Others on my table had the chef’s salad and other sandwiches - all were delicious And the folks behind the counter are friendly and patient if you have any questions. Make this a “must visit” place on your next trip to Waco.

I had eaten rather late yesterday (just before closing) but that took nothing away from the attention I received at the Huaco Mexican Eatery. The food was meticulously curated, the chef was cheerful and sweet and it was completely delicious. A unique take on your everyday tacos we seem to get here in Texas and the churros are next level.

This place is really nice and great for groups because there is something for everyone. Multiple dinner options for all of the people in your group. Pizza, sushi, burgers all in one place.

So glad we stopped by union food hall. They have great food options. We ate Huaco eatery and not only was the food delicious, the presentation of it was beautiful. The owner was so kind and passionate about what he does and it shows in the quality of food and service he provides to his customers. Would highly recommend.

Loved it! These food halls are such a great way to experience your own Taste of the Town. Union Hall does not disappoint, it is a great place to stop in for a drink or a bite while enjoying the downtown area of Waco. Roni's stands out in a great way!

Came and had ice cream here. Love the idea of this place. Makes dinner easy for your family especially when not everyone can agree on what they want. They have all types of food you can think of a yummy desserts. Definitely try it out.

We ate at Huaco. I spotted some locations around town, but we eat plenty of Mexican food so I wasnt planning to check it out. But in here, we saw some pics of the food at their food counter and it just looked very appetizing so we tried it. It tasted so good! It was more foodie than traditional, but it was very delicious. The food court had a lot of options - several Asian options, pizza, Caribbean, and burgers.

First time at Union Hall and our first stop was at Huaco eatery. Man what can I say, the food was incredible. Real authentic Mexican food! We tried the chips and queso with beef, pozole verde, torta de tinga and a kids chicken quesadilla. Everything was deliciously made, and the churro dessert was amazing!!!! Highly recommend trying this place out! Not only was the food delicious ,but the customer service was great from Alex and the Chef Sebastian!

This is a great place to go and get a different variety of food choices. I personally chose Roni's Macaroni Bar and it was extremely good. Lots of different choices of toppings to add to the Mac and Cheese. Highly recommend the pulled pork and brisket topping along with bacon.

Vitek's BBQ is a renowned local landmark in Waco, Texas, known for its classic Texas BBQ and signature dish called the Gut Pack. Operating for over 100 years, this establishment has evolved from a grocery shop and meat market to a beloved barbecue restaurant. The Gut Pack, featuring corn chips, slow-roasted brisket with beans, cheese, onions, and jalapenos (with optional sausage), is a must-try.
We have eaten here many times and the brisket is always great. But, we recently had them cater a lunch for a family get together. Brisket, sausage, coleslaw, beans, potato salad, mac n' cheese. It was the best they ever made of everything! Everyone commented on how good it was. And the service was amazing! We changed the time of pick up twice and they didn't mind a bit. They were extremely busy that day (BU graduation) and got our order perfect! Thank you Vitek’s!
Holly O — Google review
I heard about this place from the locals and decided to give it a try. First, let me say that this place closes early, so make sure to plan accordingly. I ordered the full "PORK GUT PACK," which comes with brisket, sausage, cheese, jalapeños, fritos, and other toppings to your liking. The food was decent, I would like more flavor as the meats didn't have that smokey bbq flavor I was looking for. Pretty decent portions what you paid for. All in all, I recommend at least giving this place a try if you're looking for some BBQ.

Love this place but don’t go here if you’re allergic to anything. Happens on just about every other to go order I get from this place. Just threw away another order I can’t eat. ****updated my review because of their amazing response!

Yummo! The beef brisket was so tasty, the coleslaw had a great flavor. The star of the show was the Mac and cheese! Wowww that cheese sauce would make anything taste good. Next time I think I just need a gallon or so of that Mac and cheese lol. Employees were super nice, the meals are fairly priced. Will definitely be back every time I go through Waco!

We went here for dinner at around 7pm. They close at 8pm so we went in expecting the meats to be a little dry. When we got there it was really busy. There’s was a line to order but it went by pretty quick. All the tables and booths were taken up luckily one opened up when we were ready to sit. I think this place wants to maximize the amount of people that can dine but all the tables sit 4-8 people or more. Most groups were 2 people so the 2 people would take up an entire booth designed for 6 people or more. I would recommended Viteks to get more 2 people sittings. The food was in fact a little dry but it was still really good. The flavor was great and I know if I return it’ll be during the lunch meal and I can have higher expectations on the freshness. I recommend going early since when we went they were almost running out of brisket, they were out of ribs, and green beans. So the earlier the better. The Mac n cheese was amazing though. Everything tasted great. I feel if I went there at 11am it would easily get 5 stars.
Evan B — Google review
Prices where fair. I bought half pound of brisket and 1 pound of ribs. They gave me way too much food. Im not sure if it's standard or that man is mad at the owner. Anyways I liked it and will be back.

I was in Waco for an event and this place was recommended by a co-worker. The place has been in business since 1915 so you know they've been consistently good for a while. I tried a bit of everything and still had enough to bring leftovers for the wifey. One of their signature items is called the "Gut Pack" which comes in a full/half order, I did the 1/2. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and had a great flavor. The brisket and turkey were both moist and flavorful. The 3 cheese mac and cheese side dish is a must if you're a mac fan. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Great customer service, staff knows the menu well and gives great suggestions. We loved that they have half portions if you are watching what you eat or want to try a bit of everything, we got a full order of Nachos with a sub for Brisket instead of pull pork, chose sour cream, Pico de Gallo and beans on the side (for picky eaters), a half order of the gut pak, a turkey sandwich (the pepper on the bark is spicy so watch out for the kids) all delicious and saucy.

Cafe Homestead is a well-known restaurant located at the historic craft village, Homestead Heritage, just a few miles from central Waco. It's a popular dining spot for both locals and tourists looking to experience the old Texan charm and traditions of Texas farming communities. The restaurant prides itself on serving locally sourced American cuisine with an emphasis on farm-to-table dining. Following a fire that destroyed the original building, Cafe Homestead has been rebuilt into a beautiful establishment.
My wife and 2 year old daughter went here tonight and it was one of the best food experiences of our lives. We were blown away by the quality of food and the service. This is a must visit food place in Waco and Texas for that matter. We wish we could eat there everyday! We highly recommend getting the spinach dip as an appetizer as well! It will be the best you’ve ever had!

Gem of a place. The food was delicious. Their buttermilk biscuits are the best I've ever had...even more than those at Magnolia Table. The staff is so friendly. Their little store in the main entrance area is FUN, but if you schedule your time there right, you can visit and enjoy all the Homestead village shops and atmosphere. Worth the time. I recommend a reservation.

Well that was quite the incredible accidental discovery. On our autumn road trip getaway to San Antonio, we were looking for lunch outside Waco. My wife ran a Google search for "restaurants near me" and in the top of the list was Homestead Cafe. We were on I35 so it wasn't exactly "near" but the drive through the country was worth a few miles. The cafe is the heart of a beautiful craft community. The staff was wonderful. The atmosphere is warm and rustic. My wife enjoyed the wagu burger and my the wagu brisket tacos we among the best I have ever savored. Best of all, a classic car rally had made a stop here. Wow!

Cafe Homestead has amazing guacamole and salsa. Everything is mostly made in house or locally sourced. The atmosphere is family friendly and the community around is perfect to explore. I come down from DFW at least once a year at least just to eat here. The service is fantastic, and today Jessica was our server who kept that stellar service going. I recommend making a reservation and giving yourself time to park and walk around the grounds as it’s always busy.

We had such a great experience at Cafe Homestead! The food was absolutely amazing — everything was fresh and full of flavor. The service was perfect from start to finish, and the staff made us feel so welcome. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has such a cozy, inviting atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

I finally made my way to Cafe Homestead and it was a true delight. My waiter, Brandon, was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu items to select for me a good choice. I chose the Sriacha burger, fries and the corn fritters with a Lemonade Peach tea. The food was absolutely delicious. The inside of the restaurant is warm and welcoming and not at all noisy. So my dining experience was quite enjoyable, up until a young lady came over and begin spraying some sort of cleaning agent to prepare the tables for the next guest. I've come to notice this trend being practiced at several mainstream restaurants and for me personally, it is annoying to be subjected to smelling chemicals and spray being aerialized around guests who are eating. This is why I lowered my rating from 5 to a 4 star because of this annoying trend. Would I recommend this restaurant, yes. Would I return for the good food, yes. But I hope that management after reading this review will be mindful to their cleaning practices around its paying guest because I do not care to see chemicals being sprayed around while I'm trying to enjoy my meal.

We last visited Cafe Homestead in the Fall of 2022 before the original restaurant burned down. When planning another trip to Waco for my daughter's birthday, we read the story about the unfortunate situation, but we were very glad to hear about the rebuilding of the facility. 18 weeks from the time it burned down to coming back online is nothing short of amazing. This trip was not unlike the last, in that the food, service and overall experience were simply fantastic. I had the Chicken Fried Steak, which continues to be the best I've ever had. All four of us were stuffed and quite satisfied after our meal. Next time we plan on spending more time exploring the area shops and activities. Highly Recommend!

Hearty great food prepared from scratch like Grandma used to make! The bestest salads! The ranch dressing is just awesome. Desserts made from scratch are soooo good! Even the tea is just fantastic! Get the peach tea or Cream Earl Gray in cooler weather. Friendliest, most polite staff. Beautiful building with lots of handcrafted touches. So much fun shopping around the restaurant whilst you wait! One of our favorite places!

Jakes Texas Tea House is a retro eatery in Waco, TX with a gas station theme and classic Southern cuisine. The veteran-owned restaurant offers hearty brunch options at great prices and provides stellar service in a cozy setting. The 50s-inspired diner-like atmosphere features quirky decor, including 1950s style cars and bright blue paintings on the walls.
The cafe is located in downtown of Waco and has its own parking lot for visitors. The unusual design of the cafe attracts visitors of different ages, it is interesting to visit both adults and children. For children, there is a small police car, which they can jump into for only 25 cents. The waiters were very friendly and served quickly, although there were a lot of people in the cafe. The food was very fresh and tasty, we were satisfied. If you are in Waco, then be sure to visit this cafe. I think you will be satisfied.

Fun retro diner with 50s car theme and candy colored leather booths. Their menu varies a bit between the week and Sunday but they're consistent with making Caesar salad table side and providing family style vegetable side dishes for the table. I especially enjoyed the chicken breast and creamed corn. The have booth, table, and bar seating in a large inside dining room as well as a few umbrella tables outside. There is street parking on surrounding blocks.

We headed here after visiting the Dr Pepper museum. We (3 seniors, 3 adults and our grandson) were greeted by the owner who took us straight to a table for 7. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The food was great and everyone got something they enjoyed. On our experience we would highly recommend. See the additional part regarding kid friendliness below.

Genuinely worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I am a 19 year old college student and they definitely took advantage of it. We went on a Sunday, and they have a different menu on Sunday. My sister and I asked to split an $18 chicken tender meal and the waitress said sure. Our bill ended up being $33 and we asked why. They had charged us for a random “veggie plate” and said anyone who eats has to be charged. We said we understood, but we split a meal. I only had a singular chicken tender and they charged us an addition $15. When we asked what the veggie plate was they couldn’t explain it to us. They just said they had to charge us for extra since we both ate food and it was policy. Both the manager and waitress were very rude to us and acted like we were dumb just for asking why they charged us. The manger continued to repeat “it’s on the menu sweetie just look at the menu.” So we looked at the menu after we left, and it wasn’t on the menu! I really feel like we were taken advantage of as young girls because we weren’t great at standing up for ourselves. The waitress also accidentally brought out an extra drink and I told her I would take it if she was just going to dump it, and they ended up charging us for that as well. They took it off very belligerently after this whole ordeal and acted like they did us a favor. Overall food was not amazing for the price, waitress and manager were pretty rude, and they only care about the money.

Place was awesome and the food was delicious. The only thing that kinda worried me is the parking situation. But everything about this place is perfect!

I recently visited Jake’s Texas Teahouse and tried a few of their offerings. The atmosphere is really charming, and the service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout our meal. As for the food, I had the chicken fried steak with fries and fried okra. While the sides were tasty, the chicken fried steak wasn’t quite my favorite. I felt the gravy could use a little more flavor to complement the dish. On the bright side, I also had the Cadillac Melt with a Caesar salad, and it was pretty good! However, a touch of salt and pepper would have made it even better. The decor is cozy and nostalgic, filled with classic touches that create a welcoming, throwback vibe. It’s a great spot for families with kids and anyone who enjoys taking in some old-school charm while they dine. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable thanks to the warm service and great atmosphere. I’m sure with a few small tweaks to the seasoning, this place will be even better!
Ashley R — Google review
I've visited a few local restaurants in Waco, and all of them were really good, I went here for lunch to see if I could keep up that streak, and this restaurant surely didn't break it. Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Me and my parents got rather basic meals, but even then, they were all really good. I recommend trying their more interesting foods though, I'm sure those are even better. I got the BLT, my mom got the regular burger, and my dad got a chicken sandwich, all came with a side of fries, for my meal I added some watermelon along with my side of fries as well. Everything tasted really fresh and was packed with flavor. The buns were toasted perfectly along with the meat, and the mayo and condiments were really good as well. My watermelon was pretty good too, I was expecting an average watermelon, but the freshness and the nice balance of sweetness and flavor made it a little extra special. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much were the fries. They were a little mushy but had a home style taste. I appreciated that it wasn't loaded with salt too, but I would've liked more seasoning on it. It's not enough to bring it down a star because I enjoyed it overall, including the meals. Definitely recommend the food. Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The waiters were nice and consistently checked up on us to see how we liked the food or if we needed anything else. It wasn't anything special, but it was great overall. The food came out pretty quickly, and we spent about 30 minutes in the restaurant, great service overall and there weren't any major problems Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think an atmosphere deserves five stars when it's not just good, but great, and special in a way. This place had so much old fashioned detail and there was a lot to look at while you sat down. Something else I thought was neat was that there were notes inside the crevices in the brick wall of the restaurant. They each had a message inside to read and was something I distracted myself with while I waited for my food. Another cool detail was that the food was served in hubcaps, you can't tell with my pictures, since it was covered in food and was shown on the bottom of the plate. Overall, really awesome atmosphere and it wasn't too cramped either. I was really satisfied with this place overall. The atmosphere and the food is what made this place stand out among the rest. I wanted to try their pies but ended up being too full. That's something else this place is known for apparently. Props to the owner for a great restaurant!

Milo is a charming and rustic-chic eatery located in Texas, offering seasonal Southern comfort food and a variety of cocktails, beer, and wine. The establishment is associated with the Southern Roots Brewery, which was founded in Waco in 2018. The brewery's story began with home brewing as a hobby and eventually led to the creation of a debut line-up of craft beers.
Stopped in for a quick bite with some friends! Loved the open concept atmosphere for seating. If you are someone who enjoys the patio regardless of the weather- there is a place for you here. The space is well covered and provides the perfect protection during the summer heat. Started with the cast iron cornbread- delicious! If you are someone who enjoys a little kick with their meal, the hot chicken tacos will be perfect for you! If you are looking for something sweet but relatively light- the French toast was very nice! Service was great. Bathrooms were clean. It was the perfect place to meet some friends!

This was my second visit to Milo and I love the farm to table mission and ambiance! Even though they advertise the brussels as crispy, ours were severely overcooked which made them unenjoyable. They also came out suspiciously fast but weren’t overly hot which made them feel like maybe they were old? The lemon chicken bowl was really good; the chicken was super juicy and all of the flavors worked well together. My friend ordered the egg white frittata and the portion was a bit small, so if you’re hungry you’d definitely need more than just that for your main. It’s weird it doesn’t come with a side of toast, potatoes, or something else.

I like what they are doing here in Waco. Clean and bright interior, fun atmosphere with 2010s alt rock playing in the background. Creative farm to table menu. Nashville hot chicken tacos were a hit in my book, amazing flavor, balanced. Servers seemed over booked. Granted it was busy. maybe they need more help? All in all I will be back to try out their other menu items!

Pretty good spot! They had half off appetizers and margaritas which allowed us to try s few things! We got the pimento cheese (very good and I enjoyed the homemade crackers), the brussel sprouts were also quite good. my husband got the burger and I ordered the steak lettuce wraps. The burger and fries were very fresh and flavorful. maybe it was supposed to be this way, but the steak for my entree was cooked so much it was crunchy.... The flavor was good, but I found that odd. Fresh ingredients and good service. A relaxed, bright and airy atmosphere! Some entrees seemed smaller, but the appetizers helped fill us up.

I ordered to go and was disappointed. I order The Salad which was described as little gem lettuce, sesame sunflower seed crunch and rustic croutons and Campari tomatoes. None of these are actually on what I received. I also had the crab hush puppies which were ok not much crab mostly cornbread and the corn ribs which were pretty good. Do better Milo!

Korean barbecue restaurant
Kitok Restaurant is a no-frills Korean-American eatery that has been a staple in Waco since 1975. Despite being known for its Korean cuisine, it gained recognition for serving one of the best burgers in Texas, as mentioned in The New York Times. The menu offers a variety of options including noodles, stir-fries, bulgogi, and kimchee alongside their renowned burgers like the Liplocker and Egg Burger. The cozy ambiance with retro decorations adds to the dining experience.
Two of us ate here on Feb. 19th after I'd had a medical procedure done. It was really windy and cold that day. Parking is in the back. We were greeted as soon as we entered and told to pick our own table. It's a small place and there was a gas heater going which made it even more cozy. The food was great and the two ladies were so sweet and attentive. We've told multiple people about Kitok and will 100% be going back when we're in the area. We found it sort of by accident, but that was a great accident. Everything we had was great, try it all!

Best Korean propaganda I've experienced since watching K-pop Demon Hunters. The oriental fries are the best fries I have had in Waco. The potato soup and fried rice is incredible. The salad is excellent. Those were just the accompanying sides, which were not small in size and made us feel like we were getting exceptional value from the price of meal. The entrées themselves are quite good. The flavor on the beef bulgogi was top-notch and the gravy accompanying the chicken fried steak was excellent. If there can be one area of improvement, it is with the tenderness of the meat—both the chicken fried steak and the beef bulgogi were tougher than my liking but not too much as to detract from the value of the meal. We definitely will come again.

Opened in 1975 this local favorite is definitely a must stop. It’s small and cozy but I love how it feels inside. It feels very cozy and welcoming. Reminds me a lot of the 80’s and 90’s restaurants because of the decorations and ambiance. I really appreciated it. We were sat down immediately at 5pm which is nice. 5pm on a Saturday could be a risk going out to eat and having or wait for a table. Our server was friendly. The food is really the best part which explains why it has such high esteem in the community. You absolutely must try the beef bulgogi. It’s incredibly tender and flavorful. I was also very impressed with my burger. It was simple but full of flavor. The oriental fries were also very good and the onion rings were crispy. We will be back to try the bulgogi burger next time!

This restaurant has literally been here for decades! The house vegetable fries are absolutely delicious and if you just want a quick snack these are the way to go! I ordered a single patty cheeseburger and it was delicious! The tomatoes lettuce and onions were all freshly cut and still cold. My bun was toasted and the whole burger could not have tasted better. If you're just having a casual lunch and want to go dressed in shorts and t-shirts, this place is for you. All three of us were stuffed when we left here and the price did not break the bank. Three burgers and two of the veggie fries or $27. For three people, that is extremely affordable

I realize I'm probably the only one with this review but I'm not going to sugar coat anything. This was my first time eating here and I went with my bf. The employees were very welcoming, the atmosphere was quiet and it's very clean inside. The food however could use some help. We heard such good things about this place and we were very disappointed. The fried shrimp was mushy, the soup they have, which was chicken and potato was bland and disgusting. Bolgolgi wasn't very good. My bf actually threw up in the parking lot after we paid and left. The food there just didn't seem fresh, like it was all store bought and just overcooked and very tasteless. I'm very disappointed especially after hearing great things about this place and we decided to finally give this place a shot. We will not be going back.

We always dine-in and get the burgers and the oriental fries. Both of those options are always consistently fresh when we order them and taste great when dining in. The staff is very kind and the prices are great as well. Also most likely the only place in Waco where you can slightly scratch your itch for Korean tangsuyuk.
Whe W — Google review
The food was delicious and the portions were large enough for 2 people to share. The service was a little lacking. My wife’s food did not arrive until I was done with my food, might have been the cooks fault, or they might have dropped it in the kitchen. The oriental fries were delicious potato strings with broccoli and onions fried up. I would try this place again.

Live music venue
Common Grounds Waco is a popular coffee shop known for its welcoming atmosphere and rustic decor, making it a favorite spot among college students. For the past two decades, this establishment has been a go-to destination for students, professionals, and families to socialize, study, and enjoy great coffee. The menu features tempting signature beverages like Cowboy Coffee and Nervous Breakdown. Additionally, the venue hosts live music performances that add to its charm.
The staff is very try friendly and very helpful. Very nice and pleasant to deal with. The Mocha is literally best I’ve ever had in my life. For someone who like their coffee to have a kick the large has 4 shots of expresso in it which is right up my alley. I would recommend this for anyone. It is a nice little coffee shop. They also have a drive through as well. There is a nice back area with stage for music.

Cute little coffee shop. Lots of quiet places to work or do school. Outdoor area is cool with lots of seating also. I got an iced latte "caramel coffee crunch" with oat milk and it was good. Their signature sauce flavor is nice and not too sweet! Next time I'll take my purse with me to get my order so I can grab a bottle for $10.

This coffee shop is a gem! The coffee is excellent, with a rich selection of brews and blends. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, combining vintage charm with modern style. The large outdoor patio is a standout—perfect for enjoying your drink in a relaxed, open-air setting. A great spot to unwind or get some work done!

This place is a great little college coffee shop. It was recommended to me by a Baylor alum and it lived up to the hype. Great coffee, immaculate atmosphere, and decent little breakfast sandwiches. Highly recommend!

The interior is super elegant and cute, it’s a blessing to just sit in any of the sitting area inside/outside. Their amazing seasonal drink (Gold rush) is very rich-tasting and has a nice savory flavor! Will definitely visit back again!

Such a cute place with FANTASTIC coffee and the literal BEST coffee shop breakfast burrito I've ever had. Couches, big windows, live music venue, so vibey! Only thing is there is NO parking😭 I'm not sure how customers are expected to park their cars :/

One Thirty Five Prime is an upscale steakhouse located in Waco, Texas, known for its fine dining experience and laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant has been serving top-quality beef, seafood, and farm-to-table produce for over a decade.
Fine dining in a strip mall. Go figure. Once you enter you'll be surprised. The decor is upscale steakhouse all the way. The service is in keeping with the high-end atmosphere. Attentive but never pushed and formal but friendly. Our waiter was professional and informative and a great attitude. A Certified Akaushi 8oz filet is $68 and well.worth it and cooked perfectly. We shared scalloped potatoes and cream spinach sides which were also delicious easily enough for two. For dessert I ordered their "signature" Creme Brulee. Nice crunch on top and great flavor. So there you have it. If you are in the Waco area and aren't afraid to pay for a great meal One Thirty Five is your spot. Thank you for a fine meal.

I wish I was in Texas longer so I could come back here. This was the best ribeye I’ve had in years - I HIGHLY recommend their Marsala mushroom sauce. We got there at opening, so we were able to walk in and be seated. They have the main floor, bar seating, outdoor seating, a private dining room, and a larger separate event room. The waitstaff here wear white button-downs and black ties, so it’s recommended that you dress up at least a little.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly, but overall our experience was just okay. The food was nothing special, and for the price, we expected a bit more attention to detail.

Our server Jordan was amazing our entire experience! All the savory foods were absolutely delicious. As unique as the cocktails were, most of them at the table were not actually very good(sometimes it's better to stick to the classics). For main course, I ordered the 135 medallions. As delicious as the food was, the portion size was laughable. My friend ordered the 6oz steak, and this was definitely less than half the quantity of meat(it says 4oz). When they showed up with a tiny smear of polenta and maybe what was 3 oz of steak before cooked on a massive plate, everyone at the table literally laughed out loud. Definitely not worth $42. For dessert, we ordered the 8 layer amaretto chocolate cake, which looks absolutely delicious. Looks aside, the cake is actually the driest cake I've ever had, I would not recommend it.

We took a party of eight here to celebrate graduation recently. Graduation evening is hard to get reservations, and 135 had seating in their “annex”, so we knew we weren’t getting the main restaurant. This isn’t a knock on the restaurant, because they opened up more tables for hungry families, but the annex seating is functional at best. The main restaurant is classy and well appointed, while the annex is for office parties. The food here is good; nothing we had was bad. But none of it was the best version of what we have eaten before. We had steak, pasta, chicken and fish and enjoyed it all. Unfortunately the prices mirror some of the finest restaurants in larger cities, and this didn’t meet those expectations. The pasta sauce had broken, the steak medallions were strangely sliced and cooked, and the chocolate cake tasted like it had been in the chiller for quite a while. None of it “bad”, just slight misses. Our waiter was attentive and did a good job of making recommendations. It was especially admirable given that he was fifty yards from the main kitchen. If you want a nicer dinner in Waco, there aren’t many restaurants that are better than 135. Just don’t expect too much.

Four of us enjoyed an early dinner. The hostess was friendly as was our server. Attentive without being intrusive. Our food, all of us had filets, was cooked to order. Excellent flavor. Lobster risotto, lobster Mac and mashed potatoes were delicious. We did have an issue with one item but our server handled it without it becoming a hassle. Excellent service recovery. The wine and cocktail list is extensive. The wines by the glass give you plenty of options as well. We've dined here a few times and won't hesitate to return in the future when in the area.

It was husband's 81st birthday, which I informed when making reservation and asked if special occasion, however at no time during our during our visit was it ever mentioned. We had a horrible waiter, he never asked what we would like with our entree, when my husband informed him that he wanted a baked potato and creme spinach, the waiter said are you sure, that will be extra. My husband assured him he knew that before he ordered. Waiter never asked what we wanted to drink so we informed him what we wanted. Not once did waiter return to our table after food was delivered. Husband ran out of ice tea and had to drink water as the opportunity to ask for more tea never was provided. After we had eaten and sat there for fifteen minutes waiter appeared and asked if we wanted dessert, we said maybe do you have a dessert menu, which he left and brought back. A few minutes later he asked if we decided on dessert, I told him what I wanted and he turned to leave when my husband said Id like to order a dessert also. We will never be back to 135Prime nor will we recommend to anyone. What a big disappointment.

The Olive Branch is a popular spot in Waco, known for its relaxed atmosphere and delicious American breakfast and lunch options. The lofted dining room is a favorite among locals, especially during the weekends when they flock to enjoy brunch specials like eggs sardou, breakfast skillets, chicken biscuit sandwiches, pastas, and salads. The restaurant also offers affordable carafes of mimosas to complement the hearty fare.
Never been here before but heard good things. First of all I was greeted at the door with a smile which is rare these days. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Quick service too. My server Tori was awesome in recommending food and very knowledgeable about the dishes. One of the owners asked of if I was being cared for, she was also sweet. Food was definitely delicious and it was plentiful. I ordered the steak and eggs with potatoes. The chimichurri sauce was a perfect addition. Steak chunks were tender!

We went for the first time on Mother's Day. Plenty of parking, and it looked great. Lots of seating as you wait for your table. We were told 45 minutes for the wait, which was fine for that day. We were seated within 30 minutes. I will say they have a poor choice in chairs, very uncomfortable. Our waiter did a poor job, we were pretty sure he was new, so we weren't too upset. The food, however, was delicious. My husband had the brisket bowl (I can't remember the name) and I had the shrimp and grits. I was getting lots of gumbo vibes from the grits but the sausage was sweeter than I was expecting. We definitely plan on coming back!

Customer service was great but the food was just okay. We really enjoyed the biscuits and variety of fruit spreads they provided, however the main dishes that we chose were not impressive.
Big M — Google review
Let me just start by saying this—if The Olive Branch gets five stars from me today, it’s not because they dazzled me with their cinnamon sugar wizardry or blew my mind with an avant-garde avocado toast arrangement. No. This five-star rating rides on the back of one person: Tatiana. More on her in a second. Let’s rewind. I walked in thinking I might go full throttle—house-smoked brisket burrito, big breakfast energy, maybe even add some sweet on the side. But something told me to keep it lighter. And I’m glad I did. Because while the menu leans Texas-sized, my stomach was whispering minimalist gospel this morning. The Order: • Avocado Toast – Smashed avocado layered on wheat toast, topped with sunny-side up eggs, marinated tomatoes, microgreens, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. • Cinnamon Biscuit Bites – Fried biscuit chunks, cinnamon sugar, vanilla glaze. • Coffee – Straightforward, dark, and hot. • Orange Juice – A full glass, and then some. Let’s talk flavor. The avocado toast was clean, thoughtful, and well-balanced. The eggs were cooked just right, the yolks warm and golden. The tomatoes popped with acidity. The glaze added that sweet-tangy lift, and the microgreens? That’s where the dish showed some class. Nothing overcomplicated, just intentional. The kind of plate that lets your senses stretch slowly into the day. Now, the cinnamon biscuit bites? Beautiful to look at. Honestly, they should hang this skillet on the wall as art. But one bite in, and I knew I was in trouble. It was like being hugged by a sugar-coated sumo wrestler. Way too much. Way too sweet. I expected a nibble situation—something like four to six bites. Instead, they brought out a cast iron cauldron of dessert. I ordered it, so that’s on me. But no human should face that much glaze without a support group. The coffee hit the mark. Nothing fancy, no third-wave pretension—just a solid cup of comfort. I needed that balance after fighting the sugar avalanche. As for the juice—let’s just say I ordered a drink and got a whole orchard. Fresh, cold, good… and way more than I wanted. Waco does not play about portions. Atmosphere? Rustic-meets-industrial. Spacious. Clean lines. Brick and wood. Soft lighting. TVs in the back if you need some casual noise. Plenty of elbow room, which is rare and welcome. But none of that—none of it—would have stuck in my memory without Tatiana. She didn’t just show up with a smile. She arrived. Introduced herself. Warm, polite, completely unforced. The kind of presence that makes you feel human again in a world full of transactional interactions. I’ve had $200 meals in big cities that didn’t come with service that kind. She didn’t hover, didn’t rush, just existed in that perfect sweet spot of attentiveness and space. That’s why I’m giving five stars. If Tatiana hadn’t been there? Four. Easy. The cinnamon bites alone would’ve knocked a star off. That’s not a breakfast item—that’s a wedding cake’s evil cousin. But Tatiana raised the curve. She was the curve. So here it is: The Olive Branch isn’t perfect. The portions are big enough to scare a lumberjack. The sweet options could use a tone-down. And Waco, as a whole, seems to believe every breakfast should feed a family of four. But if you’re lucky enough to get Tatiana as your server, that meal’s going to hit different. It’s going to feel like it matters. And that’s worth five stars.

We first met The Olive Branch at an on-campus event, and the food was so good we just had to track it down. Our second date, however, was a bit of a marathon. Our weekend lunch party of three was seated right away, which was a great start! But then, we played the waiting game. It took 15 minutes to get menus, and then almost 50 more for our plates to finally make an appearance. Thankfully, the sandwiches and fries were hot and delicious. The salad, on the other hand, was an unremarkable third wheel.

Stopped in for brunch and it was fantastic. I had the Farmers Hash and it hit the spot. I noticed so many other dishes being served around me that I would love to come back and try, too. Chicken restaurant
Ds Mediterranean Grill is a casual counter-serve restaurant offering a variety of Mediterranean, Greek, and Lebanese dishes. Located in Waco, Texas, this cozy eatery provides a friendly atmosphere and helpful staff to guide you through their menu. While known for their gyros, falafel, and spanakopita, they also offer unexpectedly delicious chicken tenders with crispy batter that stays crunchy even when dipped in sauce.
My family and I went to visit Waco and were feeling super hungry we were looking for a good Greek restaurant and we finally stumbled upon this one. We got our food pretty quickly and the employees were super kind to us taking our orders 😊 Their fries and onion rings were crispy and flavorful. We also had gotten the chips that were seasoned well and had a nice crunch to them, We 💕loved to dip the chips with the hummus that we recommended you guys try. Their salads were super fresh, and their gyro wrappers were delicious as well.

It's the only Mediterranean that I've found for miles! The food is pretty good, I wish the gyro would have had more veggies. I liked the baba ghanoush, its not super smokey. I actually added it to my gyro because it just seemed like it needed something more. I didn't get fries, but they smelled amazing. The lady taking orders wasn't the friendliest or the most helpful but I assume she's been there since the beginning.

My wife and I are visiting from out of town. After we arrived, we realized we had eaten here once before, many years ago. We both had chicken kabobs with different sides. Chicken was excellent. Rice, pita’s, salad and hummus were very good. The gentleman who took our order at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant itself is very basic, but it feels like a family owned business that has been around for years, so no issues. My only slight complaint is that the prices are quite high compared to our hometown Mediterranean choices. If we are visiting Waco again, we would likely return.

Best food I have eaten ever. Best fries- crispy & perfect. Gyro was perfect size & recipe. The meat was filling & satisfying. Did not make me feel sick or heavy afterward. Sweet couple running the place. Prices spot on & IMO, paying correctly. Highly recommend & we will be back!

Stopped in for a late lunch while in town so it was pretty quiet. Definitely a place we'd stop by again next time to try more dishes. As it was, the teenager raved about the Greek chicken salad, and my husband and I really enjoyed the gyro and falafel. I forgot to order pita chips I'd seen in a review pic until after I was already full and noticed them on the salad. Stole a couple and will make room for them next time.

As the other reviews stated. The place is not big. I went on a Saturday around 3. A good time to go. We had the place to ourselves until 4. The food was on point we all loved it. My son loved it. He is a picky eater. We order the kabobs chicken, beef and lamb. Little guy had chicken fingers. I added the picks. A good place to try mom and pops home cook meals.

It has become an iconic spot near the Baylor University campus, known for its signature Pizza Pillows that are reminiscent of calzones. The menu features 900-degree pizza, pizza by the slice, and affordable whole pizzas including the classic cheese option. Additionally, the outdoor area is dog-friendly, making it a great place to relax with furry friends.

Pizza is tasty and it’s a place locals and college students enjoy hanging out. Indoor, covered outdoor, and outdoor seating areas. Friendly staff and good food. Could use a good scrubbing for a few days but that’s part of the vibe too. Great place to find out you’re going to be a grandpa! My daughter and son in law told me playing Bananagrams.

Shorty's Pizza Shack provides a quintessential, cozy pizzeria experience that's both inviting and laid-back, perfect for any casual dine-in occasion. We opted for their pizza, salad, and the enticing cinnamon knot bread. The pizza stole the show with its wonderfully crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and generous topping distribution that ensured each bite was as good as the last. The freshness of the ingredients shone through, especially in the salad, which was a crisp, refreshing complement to the hearty pizza. The cinnamon knot bread was a delightful surprise, ending our meal on a sweet note. These delectable knots were perfectly baked with a soft, chewy texture, coated in a tempting mix of cinnamon and sugar, and served warm with a velvety glaze that was finger-licking good. Shorty's Pizza Shack excels not just in crafting delicious meals but also in creating a warm, friendly atmosphere where every guest feels welcomed. This spot is a must-visit for anyone in search of top-notch pizza and more in a relaxed, friendly setting.

Great spot for a casual afternoon pizza. We shared a meat lovers and tried the buffalo chicken pizza pillow. Pizza was great - rolled out this but held up well to all the toppings and the crust was great. Pizza pillow was tasty but could have been baked a bit longer to get the dough a little crustier and cheese a little meltier. Service was quick and friendly and the vibe is casual and chill - lots of college kids hanging out and working with beers. Happy we stopped here!

Shorty's Pizza Shack is a hidden gem that caught my attention while picking up an order for Uber. Despite being born and raised in Waco, I had never noticed this restaurant until the tantalizing aroma drew me in during my wait. Intrigued, my wife and I vowed to return and experience it firsthand. We've already visited twice, and the quality of both the food and service compelled me to share my thoughts. Our family's love for buffalo pizza led us to try their rendition, alongside a three-meat and pepperoni pizza. The thin, crispy crust was an instant hit, particularly with my wife, who found herself enamored by its texture. Stepping into Shorty's is like entering a cozy haven, exuding warmth and hospitality. However, what truly elevated our experience was the exceptional service provided by Johnathan, our waiter. His relaxed demeanor and genuine kindness enhanced our dining experience, making us feel truly valued as customers. As for the pizzas, each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the buffalo pizza standing out for its perfect balance of spice and tanginess. The three-meat pizza boasted a hearty combination of savory toppings, while the classic pepperoni pizza delighted with its simplicity yet bold flavor. Overall, Shorty's Pizza Shack offers more than just exceptional pizza; it's an establishment that values customer satisfaction and prides itself on creating memorable dining experiences. I highly recommend indulging in their delicious offerings while basking in the inviting ambiance and attentive service provided by staff members like Johnathan. Shorty's Pizza Shack has undoubtedly secured a spot among my top dining destinations in Waco."

Absolutely amazing! We are visiting Waco from Lexington,NC and wanted to go to an Italian restaurant for our wedding anniversary. From not knowing much and just reading the menu we were excited! Little did we know the experience there was going to be amazing! The staff is so quick and helpful! The food was outstanding! My husband had the tenderloin and he said it was the most tender one he has ever had! I had the Gnocchi Sorletina and added shrimp completely amazing! Several times during and when we left Massimo came by and checked on us and thanked us for coming! If this place wasn’t 18 hrs away for us we would be regulars!

I came for dinner with my colleague. We are Italians and wanted to try this place. Unfortunately the owner was not there. Great experience overall. Food was great, i had pasta and asked to make it aldente, and they did it! Almost. The server was nice and paid a lot of attention without beeing too invasive, and that’s not guaranteed most of the time. Atmosphere was nice, the location is clean and good looking. All the staff was nice actually and very welcoming. I recommend this place if you want to have a nice dinner date. I would say it’s among the very small Percentage of really good places. Had such a wonderful dinner here! Had no expectations going in and was so happy about how all our dishes turned out. Leslie was so so friendly, helpful and attentive! We ordered the beef carpaccio, chicken marsala, pasta pomodoro, the salmon with pea and asparagus risotto, and pistachio tiramisu. Everything was made to perfection with the standout dish being the pasta pomodoro. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce was plate-licking delicious! If I find myself back in Waco in the future, I’ll have to make another visit here!

From the moment we sat down and were served bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar I had a great feeling. From the atmosphere to the drinks . The pictures of the pasta are why we chose to try this place out in the first place, and it did not disappoint. I’m not sure if the owner is Italian but I lived in Naples, Italy for 3 years and it truly felt as close as I can get to reliving it here at home In Texas. It was our anniversary and they even brought a beautiful complimentary plate out for us to make the evening that much more special. We will be back soon.

The restaurant stands out with its colorful and easygoing atmosphere, featuring green and blue pastoral murals by local artist Ira Watkins. Despite being an unexpected find in Waco, Tru Jamaica provides a unique culinary experience with Jamaican standards like jerk chicken and sweet fried plantains.
Entire experience was amazing. Beef patty and jerk chicken were so good. Jerk sauce with a bbq flair. Tried a piece of the jerk shrimp and that was delicious as well. Owner was so friendly and welcoming. Overall just fantastic. Want to come back and try more of the menu next time I'm coming through Waco.

Amazing authentic Jamaican food. Highly recommend if you're passing through the Waco area looking for something new to try. The curry chicken was very flavorful. The oxtail was tender and saucy. The fried fish was cooked perfectly and delicious. They are very generous with the portions, and are very quick with getting the food out to you. Even though they are quick with it the food comes out steaming hot. Fried plantains are delicious too.

We are not very well versed in Jamaican food, we’ve had it before but definitely not experts in it. When we told the owner about this while ordering, he let us sample the oxtail as we’ve never had it. The food is fresh and filling. But I would say the best thing by far is the service. Granted we came at slower time but the owner really catered to us and made us feel welcomed. They recently had a fire so they’re kind of in a reconstruction period but they still serve great food out of their temporary food truck kitchen.

I had an opportunity to meet the owner and her son. They are both so kind and truly have a servants heart. Her son consistently checked on everyone in the restaurant to make sure we had everything we needed. The food is delicious! I had the goat which was very flavorful, spicy and fresh. The next time I visit Waco, I will definitely go back to try more amazing dishes!

In town visiting for the weekend from San Antonio, and this place was incredible! Did a to-go order with my daughter where we were met with such wonderful hospitality and I love when they opened the box to show me the Jerk Chicken - instantly knew my husband was going to love it (which he did!). We ate our food down by the river & the kids loved the plantains! Highly recommend this place!

Walked in, was immediately greeted and sat down. They were just opening back up from a fire that had happened. They went over the menu with me. I had the meat pie, which I did not take a picture of and also the jerk chicken excellent flavor portion size was nice. I will be back to try some of the other items in the future, so if you’re in Waco a little off the beaten path, but it’s well worth looking up And stopping to have a meal.

They're open again! Honestly some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. The owner is super chill, very happy to share his culinary love and it shows. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. We had the jerk chicken and the rasta pasta. Highly recommend both. Here's to many more years of good food.

Revival Eastside Eatery is a stylish dining spot housed in a former church, offering locally sourced burgers, salads, and sandwiches alongside a selection of wine and beer. The restaurant prides itself on its historic charm and Biblical-themed menu items such as the Old Pestoment sandwich and the Garden of Eating salad. Additionally, visitors can enjoy homemade aioli on Tuesdays through Fridays. For breakfast options, Street Dog Cafe offers scratch-made pastries and daily specials in a pet-friendly environment.
Stumbled upon this place while visiting Waco for the day. It was away from the popular market area, but worth the short drive. Service was amazing from the time we walked in, during the meal, and even on the way out. Server was very helpful in giving some recommendations. Everything on the menu sounded good. Ordered a burger, salad, and sweet potato fries. Food was just as good as the service. Burger was perfectly put together and plated. Bun was very soft and fresh. I definitely have to come back to try some of the other burgers, sandwiches, and salads.

This is a great find on the east side of Waco. I never knew there was so much happening over on that side of town. The eatery is beautifully set up and the food is amazing. Minus a few stars only because it does get very loud inside the restaurant. Either way I will recommend this to my friends and we will be back.

My son and I came here for lunch June 19th. Most of the seating was taken but we sat on the huge bar facing out the window. It was our first time here and was very pleasant. Fast service welcomed us, got our drinks and food. Food and pricing were great. This is a great spot and well worth eating here.

Place was packed and we waited less than 15 min for a table. The food we ordered took about 15 min to arrive, the servers were friendly and they had multiple people for refills. We ordered 2 custom burgers with veggie patty and one weight of glory (portobello mushroom burger) and technicolor dreamcoat sandwich (sweet potato and pickled beets filling) which were excellent. The food was good and the place was excellent to visit with friends.

Arrived about 1230 for a late lunch with a group. Ended up sitting at a hightop with six other men and started perusing the menu. Good selection and diverse offerings. Due to personal preferences, I went with a build your own burger and it came out perfectly. I had several refills of the house cola and the wait staff was attentive and responsive. The room was quite loud for a private conversation but in our group setting it worked ok. The place was full with several tables of our group sitting outside. Would recommend an early seating during lunch hour and I highly recommend the food. Everyone at our table was very complementary about the food. Kudos to the young lady clearing and cleaning tables, she was on point and focused, timely and turned them over promptly. Highly recommend for a visit if you are in the Waco area.

When we got there it was around 2pm on a Saturday. We had to wait if we did not want to sit outside, but I’m happy we waited it out because holy moly!! The food was so freaking good! Too bad we are not closer, but will not always be a stop when passing through from Houston!

The Holy Grail Is Real—and It’s Got Fries on the Side Revival Eastside Eatery | Waco, TX | 5 Stars They call it the Holy Grail, and after one bite, I understood why. This burger didn’t come to play—it came to preach. Juicy, flavorful, anchored by peppery arugula and creamy cheese, hugged between what I’m certain is a toasted brioche bun. Not too thick. Not too soft. Just enough to remind you: balance is holy. But the Holy Grail doesn’t walk alone. It comes with Holy Grail Fries, crisped at the edges, golden through the middle, salted just right. If I have one suggestion for Revival, it’s this: leave the ketchup packets to the drive-thrus. These fries deserve a ramekin. Dignify the dip. Now the dessert—this one surprised me. A mint chocolate chip mousse so light and airy, it nearly floated off the spoon. Drizzled with chocolate, sprinkled with Oreo crumbles, and topped with a mint Oreo, it was exactly the kind of portion and flavor a good meal deserves to end on. Sweet, cool, elegant, and restrained. My drink of choice: a chilled Maine Root soda, full-bodied and smooth. It paired with everything like it had rehearsed for the role. But this isn’t just about the food. Revival tells a story. Danielle and Travis Young didn’t grow up in restaurants. Danielle is a Baylor-educated clinical psychologist. Travis was in education. One night in 2017, they couldn’t find a local spot that was both fresh and soulful. So they asked a bold question: How hard could it be to open a restaurant? Hard. But they did it anyway. They found a long-abandoned church building on Elm Avenue and turned it into Revival. Not just in name, but in spirit. The menu leans into biblical wordplay—the Holy Grail burger, the Weight of Glory sandwich, the Technicolor Dreamcoat, the Garden of Eating salad. It’s cheeky, sure. But it’s also reverent. The inside is rustic-modern: exposed brick, real wood, soft light. It feels honest, grounded, and warm. Ordering is done at the table, with QR codes and friendly, present staff who seem genuinely glad to be there. It’s not performative. It’s personal. The outside patio is an open invitation—picnic tables under wide skies, next to a vibrant mural that welcomes you to East Waco like a hometown chorus. Revival didn’t just move in. It rooted. It respected the neighborhood, listened to the stories, and answered with presence. And that’s why this isn’t just another burger joint. It’s a declaration. Revival doesn’t beg for attention. It earns it—bite by bite, story by story. From the Golden Calf burger to the mousse that tastes like a whispered hallelujah, this is a restaurant that remembers why people gather around food in the first place. Five stars. No notes. Come hungry—and come ready to call it by name: The Holy Grail.

Pizza restaurant
Slow Rise Slice House in Waco is a top choice for families looking for a kid-friendly dining experience. The restaurant offers a diverse brunch menu featuring favorites like chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, as well as various other options. Parents appreciate the spacious outdoor area where kids can play freely without disturbing others. In addition to brunch, Slow Rise also serves lunch and dinner with a variety of options including pizza, chicken wings, salads, funnel fries, and regular french fries.
Wow! I couldn't have dreamed a better experience. We were there for week day lunch, which has a special that is a salad, soda and a slice. It was calm, so we ate outside which was perfect. BTW the spicy meatball is a little spicy. Pizza was amazing not a thick or thin crust but perfectly in-between. The place has a vibe that it might be a crazy bar at night, but still good during the day with family.
Inthe159 — Google review
The atmosphere here was great—very family-friendly and perfect for kids to run around and play, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The pizza was a letdown, especially the margherita, which surprisingly came without any red sauce—that felt like a miss. The Greek salad was just okay; the dressing tasted like it came from a bottle rather than being house-made. We came in with high hopes, but the overall experience fell short. It’s a fun spot for families, but the food left a lot to be desired.

Slow Rise is the perfect place for a get-together with friends and/or large groups. There is decent room inside, but we usually eat outside. The kids play on the turf area or the giant tire structure and adults can linger on the covered patio or (really large) outdoor picnic area to talk while the kids play. We've also used the private room for birthday parties because its so easy! The pizza/food is awesome, our favorite is the Texas Gold with the loaded fries as our appetizer and funnel cake fries for dessert. The Brazos location is also great, there's just a little less entertainment and play space for the kids.

I have never had anything to complain about Slow Rise. It's my first time ordering to go, and the experience was quite smooth. The food was ready on time. Even the server came out in the rain just to deliver my order. I didn't expect it. About the food, everything was good. Wing 4/5🌟 Loaded Fries 4/5🌟 Pizza 4.5/5 🌟 So far, the best pizza I've ever had in Waco area! If anyone knows of any better pizza, let me know so I can go visit them!

Latin American restaurant
Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant is a vibrant and long-standing establishment known for its cocktails and authentic Mexican cuisine. Founded in 1973 by Ninfa Rodriguez Laurenzo, it continues to uphold her legacy of serving up delicious tacos, enchiladas, and being one of the first to popularize fajitas. The restaurant also offers Tex-Mex favorites like quesadillas and burritos, accompanied by their signature avocado and tomatillo green sauce.
Wow. Amazing. This is the kind of place that you can tell everything is made in house. The green salsa in particular was phenomenal, but both were good! The chips and queso were outstanding (they came with special chips). My husband got a burrito and it was great and clearly made with one of their homemade tortillas. I ordered the pisca and wow it was so incredible. The only thing is that the shrimp was slightly overdone. The steak was perfect. The charo beans were even good and I don't even usually care for those. Would definitely come again! The menu had plenty of great looking options.

We came at 7:45 and half the restaurant was empty. We asked for a table for 6 - 2 of the party was here while the remaining were in another car on their way. The hostesses rudely stated, “oh we can’t seat you until your entire party arrives.” There was no wait. We even stated that we would be ordering appetizers and drinks upon seating for 6.. 3 of the hostesses were quick to chime in. We were not arguing or being disrespectful. We were trying to understand and express our intent. The sign states “we will not seat incomplete parties on a wait.” Again, there was no wait. If your policy is going to change based on who is working the host stand, then I would suggest having a clearer policy or making sure your entire staff understands the policy. We have been decades long customers of Ninfa’s and have never been treated so disrespectfully and disregarded. As I’m sitting here writing this.. there is a group of 6 wait staff just hanging out behind the host stand. Great way to lose customers and money.

We visited Ninfa’s for lunch because it was directly across the street from the Waco Convention Center. I think we all ordered a lunch plate. It was a lot of food! I love the decor of the restaurant.

Great atmosphere, awesome service, tasty food! I had the shrimp stuffed jalapeno popper thingies and the best advice I can give is order four instead of two! Then I had the La bonita, a great sampling of a chicken enchilada, chile relleno and a beef taco. My only disappointment is I am too full to try the apple empanadas!

Tory at Ninfa’s in Waco, Tx was outstanding. She brought our drinks before we ever had to ask, stayed on top of everything, and delivered the best service we’ve had at any restaurant so far. The food was delicious, but the service was on another level entirely. This is real Mexican food, not the fake stuff, and this place is now our go-to spot. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll be making reservations—and asking specifically for Tory. If you're looking for greatness in both quality food and top-tier service, Ninfa’s is the place to be.

Alpha Omega Grill & Bakery is a popular Mediterranean restaurant located in Waco's historic district. The building, which used to be a transmission shop in the 1950s, was restored and transformed into the restaurant in 2016. They offer a wide variety of gyro sandwiches, fresh pita, and mezze platters. The menu features mouthwatering dishes made with in-house baked goods, including their delicious pita bread.
A truly exceptional dining experience! Every dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that shone through in every bite. The lady at the register was a fill-in, normaly not in front, but she was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, making sure every question was answered, with no rushed feeling. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and we left feeling completely satisfied - this is definitely a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable culinary journey!

Atmosphere looks good and clean, so I thought. The clean spoons still had dirty food on them, I didn't even want to eat my food after that. The soup i order had too much vinegar or acidity, I only ate one spoonful. The gyro sandwich was OK, but the pita bread here is like a loaf, its way to big and thick. I wish the sandwiches had some other veggie than onions and meat. I wouldn't return. Its a Saturday night and this place has been empty from 6-8p. That says alit about what people think about this place. But go try it for yourself.

Was in the waco area for a conference and tried this place on a whim and very much enjoyed it. I had a variety off apps (humus, dolmas, and spanokopita). I was very pleasantly surprised. The dolmas were well balanced, spiced well, and firm. The humus had a great taste and the pita was fresh and very fluffy, it was not thin pita. The spanikopita was fresh and made recently but was very not traditional, I would get again though. Pleasant place and nice atmosphere, I was there for lunch and it was fairly full.

I went here for the first time accompanied by someone that has experience with the food. For other first timers: you go in and order at a counter, they'll give you your cups and then you pick a table and they'll call your name when your food is ready. They have the menu on the wall but also hand held sheets so you can stand to the side and make up your mind. The food was good, the men making the plates were friendly and you get plenty for your money (I ate twice from my portion). Our only small issue was that the lady that took our order didn't want the experienced person to order lamb. Maybe they were out or running low, but he gave his order and she kept repeating a version of: pork is our traditional meat, pork is the traditional order, etc , and by the third time she said it, he gave in and ordered the pork, then during the meal he said that having had them both now, he should have insisted on the lamb. It won't keep us from returning, it was just a little odd.

Ordered a lamb gyro and got shredded tough lamb (not gyro)in a hard pita , old fries that were also hard. Baklava was dry. Great waste of $22.50

The restaurant has a small bakery cafe feel. It not usually super busy so you can easily find a spot to sit with no wait. You order at the counter and they call your name when your food is ready. The stove was great. They’re really friendly and knowledgeable. The food here is fantastic. They gyros are pretty big so keep that in mind.

Pros: large portions, highly affordable, delicious savory and sweet food, lots of seating, large menu selections, cool building Cons: not much parking Great prices, delicious food! Hecho En Waco Mexican Cuisine is a popular restaurant located in downtown Waco, close to Magnolia Market at the Silos. The restaurant offers a spacious dining room, a full bar, and outdoor patio seating. It's advisable to make reservations in advance due to its popularity and limited space. The menu features a variety of Mexican and Tex-Mex staples such as chorimigas, pozole verde, huevos divorciados, and classic chilaquiles.
One of my favorite spots in Waco! Omar took such great care of us with top-notch service. Even though we arrived a little late, everything was still delicious!

I don’t usually like writing bad reviews, but we were in a rush and stopped in here for lunch. The service was fine, but the food was terrible and bland. I love seafood, but the camerones tasted so fishy and inedible that I couldn’t even finish it. The rice and vegetables had no seasoning and even salt and pepper couldn’t fix it. I had a small bite of each of my plate and left it untouched after. We really should’ve complained but we were in a rush and didn’t think of it until afterwards. Even if they coped my meal I don’t think I’d give the food another try.
Tiffany P — Google review
If you find yourself wandering through Waco craving Mexican food with a polished edge, Hecho en Waco looks the part: modern ambiance, stylish lighting, and a menu that hints at ambition. But a recent visit proved that while the presentation is strong, the flavor journey might leave you more inspired by the chips than the entrée. I ordered Emilio’s Salmon, a plate that sounds like a bold statement: adobo-glazed salmon topped with grilled shrimp, laid on a bed of rice with charred vegetables. It took about 25 minutes to arrive, which set expectations high — anticipation builds appetite. Unfortunately, the rice arrived cold, and the salmon was slightly overcooked. It started promising, with a bit of adobo heat on the crust, but quickly turned one-note as I worked through it. The grilled shrimp were small, and while nicely charred, they didn’t bring much to the plate beyond decoration. The vegetables were fine — just that. Not crisp, not juicy, just… okay. The real surprise? The chips, bean dip, and salsa. Not exaggerating — that trio stole the show. The chips were thicker than average but somehow still airy, with that aerated crunch that keeps you going back without regret. The bean dip was rich and satisfying, and the salsa carried a depth of spice and flavor that stood out in contrast to the more muted main course. I paired the meal with a jalapeño margarita, which was decent — citrus-forward with a mild kick — but not something I’d write home about. Still, it complemented the chips and salsa well, especially if you’re showing up during happy hour (3–6 PM, Mon–Fri) when appetizers and margaritas are half off. That’s a solid deal and, frankly, a smart way to enjoy this place. Service was polite but not especially present. With a delay like that on the entrée, a little table-side check-in would’ve gone a long way. The atmosphere during the week is relaxed. Moody walls, warm Edison bulbs, and a touch of Mexican decor give it a modern cantina feel without being loud or busy. Ideal for a mellow lunch or a casual margarita meet-up. Final Verdict: Hecho en Waco is worth visiting — but don’t come starving. The entrées are hit or miss, but the chips, salsa, and bean dip are strong enough to carry a happy hour. If you’re here to sip, snack, and settle into the vibe, you’ll leave satisfied. Just don’t expect culinary fireworks on every plate. Go for the chips. Stay for the salsa. And if it’s between 3–6 PM? That’s the sweet spot.

Delicious food, excellent service, charming dining rooms. This cute little restaurant was just what we needed for lunch. It's bright and airy with comfortable seating and two separate outdoor seating areas. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the food. We were offered sturdy corn chips with salsa and bean dip ahead of our meal. We selected Che's Tacos and the D.F. chicken enchiladas for our meal. Both were delicious. The brightness of the pickled onions and fresh avocado on the carnitas corn tacos was a perfectly refreshing contrast. Definitely would eat here again when in Waco.

This food is just ok. The service is okay, and the food is alright I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. The chips are real good the salads is alright and the beans taste like they come from a can. I got the green enchiladas they were alright nothing really special about this place. The carnitas were good but nothing out of the ordinary.

Cupp's Drive Inn is a family-owned diner that has been a neighborhood staple since 1947. It offers classic burgers, hand-cut fries, and other nostalgic comfort foods. Even Elvis Presley frequented this spot during his time at Fort Hood, often indulging in their double cheeseburgers with bacon. The restaurant prides itself on serving fresh daily-made burgers, including classic options and chili cheeseburgers.
Cupp’s Drive-In – A Waco Icon That’s Stood the Test of Time If you find yourself in Waco, Texas, and you’re craving a true, old-school burger experience, there’s one place that locals and travelers alike will tell you to visit: Cupp’s Drive-In. This South Waco staple has been serving up fresh, no-frills, made-to-order burgers and hand-cut fries since 1947, and it remains one of the most beloved burger joints in the city. The Atmosphere: A Step Back in Time Walking into Cupp’s feels like stepping into a classic American diner from decades past. There’s no fancy digital menu or trendy decor—just a handwritten menu on the wall, stacks of classic plates, and a well-worn griddle that’s seen generations of burger lovers. It’s a small, cozy space with a laid-back, friendly vibe. If you’re lucky, you’ll meet Sherry, one of the co-owners, who makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. She and her brother (I believe they run the place together—don’t quote me on that!) keep the tradition alive with their warm hospitality and no-nonsense approach to good food. You can dine inside, but part of the charm is eating in your car, just like the old days. If you prefer to sit outside, they’ve got tables under a canopy, making it a perfect pit stop whether you’re a local or just passing through on I-35. The Food: Burgers Done Right Cupp’s keeps it simple, and that’s exactly why it’s legendary. Their burgers are everything you want in a classic Texas burger—grilled to perfection, juicy, and stacked with fresh toppings. The bun? Soft, slightly toasted, and just the right amount of buttery. The cheese melts beautifully over the patty, and the crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes give it that fresh crunch that balances out the richness. And let’s talk about the fries—because these aren’t your standard, out-of-the-bag, frozen fries. These are hand-cut, golden, crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside fries that you can tell were made with care. They come served up in a paper-lined basket, just the way they should be. Why Cupp’s Is a Waco Institution Located just minutes from Baylor University, Cupp’s has been a go-to for students, locals, and even travelers making their way between Dallas and Austin. It’s also a favorite among visitors who come to Waco for Magnolia Market, proving that even in a city known for HGTV-famous attractions, an old-school burger joint still reigns supreme. This is the kind of place where time slows down, where food is made the way it should be, and where every bite takes you back to a time when burgers and fries weren’t just meals—they were experiences. Final Verdict: 5 Stars, No Question If you’re in Waco and you haven’t been to Cupp’s, you’re missing out. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s a piece of Waco history. Whether you’re a burger purist, a fry fanatic, or just looking for a no-nonsense, perfectly cooked meal, Cupp’s Drive-In delivers. Friendly people, unbeatable flavors, and an atmosphere that feels like home. Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must-Order: Cheeseburger and hand-cut fries Best Seat: Your car or a table under the canopy Vibe: Classic diner, no frills, all flavor Would I Go Back? In a heartbeat.

Cups Drive Inn has made a lot of Waco history since 1929. This legendary diner is a Clean Plate Award recipient from KWTX-TV, the CBS television network affiliate for the Waco area. Many changes over the years have taken place, but still the owner and staff are committed to a truly great experience for customers. I like their hamburgers because the bun is toasted well, and the burger patty is seasoned and grilled until it is medium well to well done, but still is juicy and not dry. The quality of toppings like pickles and lettuce is also great. All food is made fresh and on an as ordered basis. Their French fries are made from fresh potatoes cut right in the restaurant, that are rinsed in water to wash them and remove starch. Then they are deep fried and prepared like Boardwalk style fries, which are not crispy fries, but have a fairly firm outer shell, and have a soft mashed potato like inside. They are then seasoned with their special French fry seasoning. This style of fries is my favorite. The portion of fries is a reasonable size as well, served in a paper lined basket. Sorry that I have no pictures of my order. I did include, as of this posting, the most recent menu for you to see ahead of time. Definately will be glad to return to Cups when I go to Waco again. You can get a burger and fries at a similar price to a Wendy's burger and fries, but get a better value at Cups Drive inn.

My husband and I stopped by and decided to get burgers and fries, and I couldn’t resist getting cheese fries too. The food was absolutely amazing, and it’s no surprise the place was packed when we got there and still buzzing when we left. My burger was so juicy and flavorful, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only thing I’d say is the space felt a little tight with so many people inside, but that’s just a sign of how popular it is. We really enjoyed our meal, and if we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely be back!
K K — Google review
The folks working there were friendly, helpful, and just plain nice people. Unfortunately, this did not compensate for the food or environment. There is a fine line between vintage and old, and cupps is in desperate need of an update inside (or at least a good scrub down). The patties are bought premade, and no seasoning is added. Cupp's, whizzbangs, and dubl-r are all very similar, and I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. Try Tom's Burgers, Burgertology, or even Health Camp.

Katie's Frozen Custard is a beloved family-owned stand in Waco that offers a delightful selection of creamy frozen custard and classic eats. The velvety smooth texture and rich flavors of their custard make it a must-try indulgence, with options ranging from traditional chocolate and vanilla to inventive choices like salted caramel or peanut butter cup.
Pretty solid the place, different options, I recommend to wait until you are in the front to see the newest flavors on the cyclones. They deliver what they offer. Big portions

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Katie’s Frozen Custard is hands down the best spot for a sweet treat! The custard is unbelievably creamy, rich, and always hits the spot. They have a great variety of flavors and toppings, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. The staff is always friendly and quick, making it a fun and easy stop whether you’re grabbing something after dinner or cooling off on a hot Texas evening. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality is unbeatable. Katie’s has that classic, nostalgic charm that makes it more than just dessert—it’s an experience. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. One taste and you’ll see why it’s a local favorite!

I just came from there. This is my first time ever trying this place I heard good things…. The guy who took our order was nice no issues with him. When I got my order it looked melted already. I had no time to say anything because I had work and I have no time to sit and wait again. It was straight water and not like ice cream at all!! I live 4 minutes away and by the time I got home it was full liquid. I really thought this place was going to be good :/ Oh and also I paid 22 dollars for 3 “ice creams” Last picture is not even 8 minutes after we got our ice creams. Come on, do better!!

I wanted to love this place I requested banana / nuts in my tornado but they didn't put the banana in them i paid extra, disappointed 😔 Gonna try again the plain custard is fantastic. They said they are hiring Need some kind happy staff for that!!!

Tried Katie’s for the first time and it didn’t disappoint! Great taste and good prices/sizes. We got a strawberry cyclone, cookies and cream vortex, and a chili cheese dog. 🍨🌭
Genesis R — Google review
I’ve never written a review before, but my experience at Katie’s Custard in Waco was frustrating enough that I felt like I needed to speak up. First off, we had to wait over three minutes in the scorching Texas heat after ringing the bell for outdoor service—meanwhile, the staff prioritized the drive-thru. I understand drive-thru times matter, but customers standing outside shouldn’t be ignored. Then there’s the pricing, which is way off from what’s listed online. The online menu is much cheaper, and it hasn’t been updated, which feels really misleading. On top of that, the portions were tiny—shockingly small for the price. If I had known how small they were, I wouldn’t have ordered. My boyfriend ordered a sundae and asked for a medium but got a small instead. The woman at the register kept asking if he wanted liquid fudge and whipped cream—never disclosing that those were an extra $2. He assumed they were just clarifying what came with the sundae. His total went from $9 to $11 for a small. Mine was nearly $8 for a small as well. We ended up paying almost $18 total for two tiny desserts, and honestly, it was just not worth it. This place price gouges like crazy, and the lack of transparency was the most frustrating part. It felt like they were just trying to upsell without being honest about it. I won’t be back. There are better dessert spots in Waco that actually give you fair portions and honest service. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. Even Andy’s is cheaper than this and you get twice the amount. Didn’t even get our order right. Wish we could get refunded.

Best place in town to get a cold sweet treat. Very inexpensive and delicious. I will drive there instead of getting ice cream it's so good.

That butter pecan ice cream on a comb was very good and it had plenty of pecans in it. The only thing I didn’t like was I had to wait 30 to 40 minutes to get the ice cream.

Mexican restaurant
Fuego Tortilla Grill, located in Waco near Baylor University, is one of three Texas locations. Despite its unassuming appearance, it offers a unique dining experience with a drive-through. The restaurant caters to college students with its long operating hours and diverse menu. Customers can enjoy flavorful dishes like chicken and waffles or rotisserie chicken tortilla soup. Additionally, the establishment boasts a salsa bar and an impressive selection of Stubborn soda flavors.
If you’re on the hunt for tacos that could double as a small child’s pillow, look no further than Fuego Tacos! Our waitress, Jerida, was a taco whisperer, guiding us through a menu that felt like a flavor adventure. We kicked things off with chips and queso that could make even the most loyal cheese lover swoon. Then we tackled some serious taco giants: The King was a meat-lover's dream, while the Hippie brought a refreshing crunch that felt like a garden party in your mouth. Sweet Caroline had just the right amount of sweetness, and Good Golly Miss Holly? Let’s just say it was a flavor bomb that left us smiling. The Dr Pepper Cowboy was a zesty twist that packed a punch you didn't see coming. With portions this generous, you’ll definitely leave satisfied—and maybe even with a taco to-go. Forget Torchy’s; Fuego Tacos is where it’s at! 🌮🔥
Sarah D — Google review
We came here for breakfast and it’s been a while since I’ve had Fuego. I forgot how large the tacos are! Do not underestimate these. Yes some of them are six dollars but with that being said, you truly only need one and two if you are starving. Tacos are very unique. I would definitely recommend the Dr Pepper cowboy.
Jared D — Google review
I've been coming here for years. This one and the one in San Marcos. I know the one here in Waco has gone through some changes over the years. I always get the same thing when I come here so the major changes I've seen were the juices they offer and the salsa. The salsa here used to be amazing now it seems they've downgraded to something cheaper. Also, there used to be... like adult-sized juices sold here. Apple, orange etc in bottles that were like 16 ounces. This time when I came, the lady handed me these little 10 ounce kid-sized drinks and I was really disappointed. Who ever managing this should be ashamed. You had a good product, stop downgrading.
Robert R — Google review
Food was great. Highlight of the experience. The Fuego steak taco was super delicious and probably one of the best tacos I've ever had. The issue is that it took almost an hour to get our food. It may have been an off day, or it was crowded, but on a Friday night in a college town, it seemed understaffed. The service was less than ideal. Staff is friendly and welcoming. But they fail to see small details. Both soda machines did not have any ice, some of the sodas did not dispense and were out, and some tables were not cleaned. And they delieved the wrong food or were unfamiliar with the menu item being delivered. Atmosphere was fine. It's like a Chipotle, or any other counter service restaurant.

Food tasted so good!! A bit expensive, but what tacos aren’t? Lol Definitely would recommend!! Inside wasn’t super clean but not terrible either.
Sophia S — Google review
I am not one to leave reviews for fast food or ever really complain about fast food service BUT…. Potato, egg, and cheese taco….. I came back because they forgot to add cheese and THIS is what they handed me in my bag. When I pulled back around for the THIRD time, I asked to speak to a manager because…??? Are you serious??? Like does my worst enemy work here?? Turns out - it was the MANAGER who told the girl to hand that back to me. This type of carelessness is just unacceptable and could potentially end up sending a customer to the hospital. I was literally in disbelief. Also no one ever goes to fuego and gets their order 100% correct. Most of the time when I ask for EASY EGG, I get a taco full of egg. It’s fast food - not rocket science 😭 Yall need to vet & train your staff way better.

Every time we order from here, there's at least 1 item missing. EVERY TIME! The food was fantastic but since y'all can't properly prepare an order I am over y'all
Wendy M — Google review
I waited over 20 minutes in line with only 3 cars ahead of me... Just to get to the window for them to tell me they didn't have what I ordered. I ordered 2 potato and egg tacos, which they said they had when I placed the order. The lady at the window didn't seem like she knew anything. And maybe it was her 1st day. This was 11 PM on Sunday night. This was an absolutely horrible experience. The lady kept shrugging her shoulders like she didn't know or didn't care at the window when I asked what the reason for all the problems were. Their night crew never seems to know what's going on.

Barbecue restaurant
Jasper's BBQ is a laid-back, counter-serve eatery in Waco that has been serving up Texas-style BBQ meats and sandwiches since 1919. The restaurant remains true to its original methods, with fresh barbecued meats served in butchers paper and traditional gravy and hot sauce recipes. This family-owned establishment offers mouthwatering smoked meats such as pulled pork, brisket, ribs, and smoked chicken along with scrumptious sides.
This is a must go to for BBQ!! The chopped brisket was so tender and flavorful. The chicken was juicy and filling. The price is very fair and I recommend to bring cash for the discount. They have Gravy!!! So hospitable and I suggest you tip because the service is very down to earth. I will definitely come again.
D C — Google review
Jasper’s is a local favorite. It serves great BBQ. The stars are the brisket and ribs. My usual is the full order (1/2 lb) with brisket and sausage. The gravy, similar to an au jus, has great flavor. I’m pretty sure you could make a meal out of dipping white bread in the gravy! Sides and desserts always look great but I gorge myself on the meat and never make it that far. The real treat at Jasper’s is the staff though! They are incredibly nice and service is top notch!

I love Jasper's Bar-B-Q for so many reasons. This place has been around for so long! It's been around since before I was born. My grandparents would take my mom when she was a kid. My mom and grandparents would take me as a kid, and now that I'm older, I'm bringing myself here! The people that work here are so nice and welcoming. The bbq here is very good!! It still taste the same as I remembered it from when I was a kid. I would usually get a plate, but this time I got a sliced brisket sandwich, and I feel like I should've ordered two!! It was so smoky and tender! You can tell they take their time and put love into the food. I recommend this place because it's a Waco classic, all of their bbq is good, and you can eat in with your family or yourself and enjoy all of the Waco milestones on the wall.

The food was so delicious!!! Amazing brisket so moist and tasty. Potato salad and beans go great with the plate. Personnel are so friendly. This is the spot for BBQ

We were travelling from Austin to Fort Worth, had a hankerin for some BBQ. Chose Jasper's as the reviews were good and it looked like the kind of local place we love. We were not disappointed. Everyone was super friendly and the food was fantastic. We had the Taste of Jaspers to share and it was the perfect amount for lunch. Brisket is juicy and tender, ribs were amazing and the sausages were bursting with flavour. Top tip, GET THE GRAVY. Its what us Brits call proper gravy, all the meat juices reduced down into a really punchy brown gravy. Yummy.

Best BBQ in town. Thank you for holding it down! Went a few blocks over one day with the guys from work because yal were closed that Monday for holiday. And the BBQ felt like it came straight out the microwave. Lol just sad Keep making the best BBQ in Waco. And we'll keep on coming!
Jymbo D — Google review
While passing through Waco, I happened to stumble on this small and family owned BBQ Restruant. The meat is high quality and decent for the price. Their sausages were what stuck out to me as the most flavorful and highest quality when compared to the others. If you're a fan of meat or BBQ in general, then come here! The employees are very friendly and funny too! However, the place takes the rustic look to a whole new level since it was pretty dirty.
Nate M — Google review
Old school feel and the the great service that comes with it. Got a taste of Jaspers to try what they had. Was the perfect size for the two of us. The gentleman giving us sides was so kind and made sure we had what we needed to enjoy our meal. I keep thinking of the sausage and brisket weeks later. Wish I didn’t live states away otherwise would go again, and again. We also went to a hyped up place in Dallas and the food was not the same caliber especially for the price. Highly recommend eating here.

Czech restaurant
Pivovar, which means "brewery" in Czech, is a unique establishment located near the renowned Magnolia Market. This hidden gem offers luxurious accommodations and features its own brewery that specializes in traditional Czech beer. While visitors may not have the chance to taste their brews during their stay, they can enjoy a restaurant with a view of the brewing equipment, including large tanks. Pivovar also includes a beer garden, bakery, hotel, and beer spa.
This was the perfect location for a great meal before hitting the Silos at Magnolia. Do to being a tourist attraction many of the stores can be a bit pricey including the surrounding restaurants. But it is well worth it if you are a local near and around Central Texas looking for a getaway for the day. Pivovar is a beautiful location celebrating the local Czechoslovakian culture. Being the first time here we took our waitress suggestion as to what to order and we were not disappointed. From the drinks to dessert the meal was filling and the atmosphere was clean and full of corners filled with surprises. From the brewery to the blown glass, we felt very comfortable in this new found restaurant. Parking is available around back and ADA friendly. Lots of swag to purchase if you’re a collector of foodie locations. We did not stay at the hotel. We did enjoy our visit.

Awesome atmosphere, and the food was 🤤🤤🤤. Had the beer flight and the short rib goulash, followed by the creme brûlée cheesecake. Beers were all tasty and mild, nothing too strong, easy to drink. The short rib was super tender and paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes and sour creme! I was recommended having the cheesecake with a plum liquor of some sort and the flavors played beautifully off each other.

We absolutely loved our time at Pivovar Waco—it’s hands down one of the best spots in town! Our bartender/server Adrian was fantastic; super friendly, attentive, and made our visits feel so welcoming every time. The beer selection was spot-on, with the premium lager being perfectly crisp and refreshing—couldn’t get enough! The food? Outstanding. The schnitzel was amazing—tender, flavorful, and a total standout. We also devoured the Reuben and the giant pretzel (soft, salty, and served with killer mustard). Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere is wonderful: modern vibes and lively yet relaxed energy that’s perfect for unwinding. Service was top-notch from the whole team—good people all around. We ended up visiting four times in just three days (we were in town for the Baylor game), and each walk from near the stadium was totally worth it—super convenient location! Next trip, we’ll crash at the attached hotel to make it even easier. If you’re in Waco, do yourself a favor and hit it up. Very well done— we’ll be back!

ADRIAN the bartender is awesome at Pivovar! I was just in town to see my Baylor Bear & Friends and treated them all to a good time. I returned after visiting a year ago, and he remembered us! The 2024 visit was epic, the beer was so good. And 2025’s visit was fantastic too. Adrian was entertaining and extremely helpful to my entire party at the bar. So good in fact, I took home 15.5 gal keg of the Pivovar Czech Premium Pilsner Lager and now, I’m serving this delicious brew in my own garage kegerator down in Nassau Bay, TX on the water! Thank you Adrian for this fresh keg of greatness! By the way, the room was nice too, and a nice change from all the Waco hotels we frequent. Very happy, and will visit again. I will continue to spread the word on how great this place is! Now, I have to figure out to get more Pivovar beer when this runs out!

We walked in with our dogs and were happy to find the there is an outside sitting. Angelina, our waitress, did a great job explaining the menu. My husband had one of the types of beer and was delighted with the flavor. We’ll definitely come back to try other dishes!

We stayed in the standard 2-bed hotel room. They offer king and suites too. We stayed one night. We got a discount for a walk-in reservation on our impromptu girl's trip. The hotel is very secure as doors lock early in the evening and your room key allows access. It is a smaller, boutique type hotel with 20 to 30 rooms. The decor is modern yet traditional with real wood furniture, arm chairs, and glass accents. Loved the large bathroom with double sinks and relaxing shower. Near the train, but it wasn't a distraction. Staff were friendly too. In room coffee with actual creamer instead of powdered kind was very nice. You can see the Magnolia property from some rooms as it is across the street. It is within walking distance to many tourist attractions and fun spots in town.
Rebecca G — Google review
Had dinner here, and just found out they ruined the menu by removing the best things that made it unique. No more Pivo burger with the jam and beer bbq sauce. All they have now is the most basic cheeseburger that has nothing exemplary about it. If you want a burger, go to In-N-Out or Bubbas, it seems this place has changed for the worse. Definitely not going back unless it’s for the beer or something that is absolutely good. Pass on this place with no unique offerings… Worst decision ever by the efficiency experts; way to ruin a unique establishment… Beer spa was very good, so get yours now for a lower price during the holiday months!!!!

I never make reviews on places but this is terrible. The renewed menu items are terrible, all of the food came out room temp not even warm. The server was awesome! But the food was a nightmare to say the least. Got the spicy chicken and mac and cheese and 90% of the chicken was breading. What chicken was there was probably 1/6 of an actual chicken breast that was clearly hammered flat to look bigger. Paid 70$ for me and my girlfriend to eat here and left upset on how bad the food here was. We also got the French onion soups and it looked absolutely sad and tasted as bad as it looked. 10/10 do NOT recommend the food here

Walked in great atmosphere. However took several minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge us. She then had to find menus. The table was sticky. Was informed of our waiter and he would be by to get orders. Waiter finally came by to acknowledge us about 10 minutes later. Took drink order (beer on tap and a double shot, no mixed drinks) and a pop. Came back about 10 minutes later with pop and water said bar tender is still "working on our drinks" beer came out warm. Took order for food and that was the last time we saw our waiter till we asked for the check. Food was brought out by another waitress. Ordered the Peanut butter bacon burger and tots, friend got 10 wings and fries. All the food was room temp at best. The fries looked limp and the wings were dried out. It was like watching someone eat beef jerky. My tots were cold and greasy like they had sat, not even under a warmer. The waiter FINALLY acknowledged us when we asked for the check and asked if everything was ok. We told him no, the beer was warm and the food was cold. He said "sorry about that" and that was it. when he brought the check he stood and waited for my friend to pull out his card... was the most we saw the waiter. Won't be back. Poor food and service. Was super disappointed.

We picked a busy weekend to come here. It was Baylor move in weekend AND a sold out concert that brought 40,000 people into Waco. Understandably the wait was long. Colin came in on his day off and was hosting AND serving a large section. As a host he kept us informed as to the wait time and the reason. Once seated his attention to our party of 6 was prompt and transparent. The food was great and the service was better. Colin encouraged us to take the wait and his service made it worth it. Thank you Colin.

Despite its name, this spot is not just a bar; it's also renowned for its exceptional breakfast and brunch offerings. With a chic and trendy ambiance, this bistro has gained recognition for its delicious brunch menu featuring simple yet beautifully presented tacos and delightful mimosas.

Restraint Be Damned — That Chocolate Cake Changed Everything. Brazos Bar & Bistro | Review I walked in expecting elegance—expecting restraint. I imagined small plates, refined flavors, and a slow dance of taste that knew exactly when to whisper and when to roar. For a moment, I thought I was right. The space? Slick. Airy. Like it knew what it was doing. Then came the avalanche. Let me take you through it. ⸻ Cocktail – Cowboy Manhattan A measured pour served in a chilled martini glass, punctuated by a mysterious black cherry (or was it an olive?). Not bad, but not memorable. The drink didn’t carry the weight of its name—it leaned more polite than rugged. But it got the job done. 3/5 ⸻ Starter – Stuffed Avocado This was the sleeper hit. Creamy Hass avocado, warm adobo chicken, cool pico, queso fresco—it was balanced. Flavorful. A textural masterpiece. The only mistake? It was built like an entrée. If I’d finished it, I wouldn’t have had room for the rest. As an appetizer, it was too much of a good thing. But still, 4.5/5 for flavor and surprise alone. ⸻ Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts Overcooked, oversauced, overwhelmed. It looked like the sprouts had been roasted, forgotten, then hastily rescued with a bath of sticky, cloying sauce. It didn’t cling—it drowned. There was no charred snap, no fresh nuttiness from the peanuts. Just heat and heaviness. 1.5/5 ⸻ Entrée – Bourbon Peach Chops Two giant pork chops—two—slathered with a handful of peach slices. Not sauce. Peaches. It looked more like Sunday supper for a group of six than a thoughtful plated dish. The garlic parmesan potatoes were a mystery lump in the middle, mistaken at first glance for a third chop. Over-portioned to the point of parody. Zero elegance. 2/5 ⸻ Redemption – The Chocolate Cake And just when I was ready to walk out with a clean-cut 3-star, in came the miracle. This cake didn’t ask for forgiveness. It demanded silence. A thick, moist brick of deep, dark chocolate, draped in glossy ganache, and topped with delicate shards—almost like cocoa glass. Every bite was rich but not cloying, bold but balanced. It didn’t just redeem the meal—it transcended it. This cake didn’t save the day—it became the day. 5/5. Easily. ⸻ Final Verdict: 4 Stars (Raised by Chocolate Grace) This place fumbled the promise of fine dining with oversized portions and careless presentation—but damn if that chocolate cake didn’t pull it from the fire. That and the avocado made the experience worth it—even if I had to dig through a mess to find the gold. Come for the cake. Stay for the avocado. Bring a friend to split everything else. Bon Appétit.

Located inside the hotel, it’s not a standalone restaurant. Service was great, seating was comfortable and he explained things on the menu we didn’t understand as a first time guest. I wanted to go and have a nice steak and a great time. For starters, it was a nice bar and restaurant, I did my research and it was listed as a top ten places to eat in Waco. I would have to disagree. If you want to go and have a nice drink for a high price, this would be right up your alley. The drinks were good, don’t get me wrong, but that would be the only good thing about this place. We ordered the humus as a starter and it was pretty good. Their drink menu was pretty good, i will say that their blueberry mojito, strawberry summer and their margarita was top notch. We then ordered the potato gnocchi and I was in the mood for a steak, DO NOT go for their steak, you will be disappointed. The staff was friendly but when you ask for a steak medium well and extra seasoning and it comes out looking like they heated it up in the microwave and forgot to season it, well you’re getting a horrible steak, not even worthy of being called a steak. No lie, take a look for yourself…

We enjoyed avacado toast and Texas breakfast plate. Our plates were clean. It was busy, but the service was excellent. The night before, we also had a great experience at the bar. We will be back.

My family checked out Brazos Bar & Bistro for my Birthday. The ambiance was nice. Staff was attentive and food came out in a timely manner. For our starters we went with Green Chile Queso and Shishito Peppers. Both are great. My Barren of Mules was enjoyable and refreshing. My husband when with a stout from Barrow Brewing Co. As for our food both the Thunderbird sandwich and the J.R Ewing Burger tasted average. My husband was not asked how he would like his beef patty cooked so it was well-done. The flatbread was okay, nothing special about it. My Chicken Montelongo was very good. I would recommend it. And the Pork Belly Tacos was not appetizing at all. Everyone that tried it could not eat it. Thank goodness it came with a good amount of sides. Overall the ambiance itself is nice, staff is professional, and drinks are good. As for the food it is quite expensive with flavor comparative to any cheep of fast food restaurant. If you are staying at the hotel it may be a good option. But we will not be going out of our way to visit any time soon.

Pizza restaurant
MOROSO Italian Ristorante is a lively and inviting place that captures the essence of a traditional Italian family gathering. The restaurant offers Neapolitan-style, thin-crust pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven, complemented by an extensive selection of Italian wines and draft beers. The generous portions of authentic Italian dishes are served with warmth by the friendly staff, creating an atmosphere perfect for sharing stories and laughter with friends.
This place is really amazing! The service was top tier! They have gluten free options, I was able to get an Appetizer, Meal, and Dessert. The Whipped Ricotta with Gluten-free chips was very good, the Americano Pizza with Gluten-free crust was even better, and Oh my goodness the Gluten-free Torte was to die for. Highly recommend!

Morosos is a family favorite. We love their Neapolitan pizzas!! My husband always gets a meatball appetizer and bread. I had a raspberry martini and it was delicious. Their fettuccine is excellent and my son just tried their shrimp scampi linguine and he said it was a new favorite.

I ordered the ravioli and calamari. It was so good. We didn't know you'd need reservations so we had to sit at the community table but it was okay. There's only one stall for each restroom which is awkward lol. I'll have to visit again when I'm in town.

I’ve eaten at Moroso many times over the years, and I’ve always had a great experience. Last night I ordered whipped ricotta and the Bolognese lasagna and let me tell you… quite possibly the best lasagna I’ve ever eaten! They also have fantastic, cocktails, and chef specials, along with a menu that changes from time to time. Always friendly staff, and great service!

The contadino pizza was delicious. The bucatini with meatballs was good, but it could use more sauce. The blue corn pancakes were good as well. They seem like a naturally dryer pancake, but with the whipped cream and honey, it was nice. I personally would add a side of syrup or honey if they have it.

16 of our group enjoyed, salads, appetizers and pizza. Great taste, amazing service, all though they were busy food arrived quickly and just as requested. They recently opened a coffee spot across in same complex,my daughter enjoyed her coffee from the place. We all enjoyed our Sunday brunch and we will be back.

Easy five stars! The Wood Fired Artisan Bread was delicious. Wonderful sweet tea. We had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Classic and Wild Hog Pizzas. All excellent especially the Gnocchi. A little busy when we were there. Will definitely add this place to the A list!

As my wife says, everything we get at Moroso’s, every time, is always good! Tonight we had the special — Texas King Prawns with pistachio risotto. It was a good as anything we’ve gotten in Italy or Croatia. It is worthy of what we would have eaten at a Michelin star restaurant! Chef Dan has created a masterpiece!

Coffee shop
Cafe Cappuccino is a local chain with two locations in Waco, offering a contemporary setting to enjoy breakfast, sandwiches, tea, and coffee drinks. Known for its varied coffee menu and delicious breakfast items like plate-sized pancakes and innovative omelets, it's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The cafe also offers traditional favorites alongside light salads and lunch specials to cater to different tastes.
Atmosphere: Looking at it from the outside is way different than being inside the establishment. From the outside it blended within the surrounding buildings, but once I entered the restaurant it had a great ambiance, especially with the greenery wall great for photo ops. The lights were nice and ample seating in the front of the building, with more towards the back of the building. There was a lot of natural light and was able to see the farmers market as I had breakfast. Service: Service was great as soon as we entered the restaurant and was almost seated immediately. Our waitress was able to answer all of our questions and was even able to offer recommendations. Quality: I had the Mexican Scramble with a pancake. Before I get to the great part of the meal, the Mexican Scramble had so much flavor and was a decent amount for what was paid for. The sign wasn't lying when it said Pancake Heaven... I got a buttermilk pancake and it was delicious. The right amount of fluffiness and still had the ability to absorb the syrup that was provided. Definitely a top spot for eating purely pancakes. Fili's Fave: No surprise here...the pancakes are where it's at and definitely going to broaden my horizon with the various types of pancakes they offer. Now if I could only obtain some of the merch that the employees were using

Cafe Cappuccino – Pancake Heaven or Pancake Hype? Downtown Waco’s Cafe Cappuccino brands itself as “Pancake Heaven”—lit up in neon like a promise. But anytime you declare heavenly status in breakfast form, you better deliver. So… did they? Atmosphere & Setup Cozy, diner-esque with a touch of charm (including a random Eiffel Tower photo that keeps things interesting). The big catch? You’ve got to scan a QR code at the entrance to get on the waitlist. Not exactly warm and fuzzy, but it’s efficient—especially on weekends. Food Rundown • Breakfast Taco: Bacon, hash browns, cheese, and eggs folded inside a flour tortilla. A bit of shredded cheddar and a side of picante sauce—which, honestly, felt like a throwback. Not the worst, not the best—just unexpected. Would’ve preferred a fresh, in-house salsa to lift the flavor. • Sweet Potato Pancake: Huge. Like, one covers the whole plate huge. Texture was nice, edges had a crisp, and it was sweet without being overkill. Ate about half and called it a win. • Coffee: Solid. Hot. No complaints. And the best part? Tony, my server, offered me a to-go coffee without even being asked. That’s next-level. Service: The Real Highlight Let’s talk about Tony. Attentive, friendly, checked on me multiple times without hovering. He anticipated what I needed, and honestly, that elevated the whole experience. It’s rare to get that kind of thoughtful service these days—Tony’s the kind of person that makes you want to come back, even if the pancakes don’t knock you off your feet. Egg Surcharge? Yep. There’s a whole sign about it at the front. “Due to rising egg prices…” and so on. Honestly, I’d rather they just build it into the menu price and call it a day. Nobody wants to walk into a breakfast spot and be greeted by a cost breakdown memo. Final Take: 4 out of 5 stars. The food? Decent. The vibe? Chill. The service? Exceptional. Tony, if you’re reading this—you’re the MVP. And if you go, just know one pancake is plenty. They don’t mess around with portion sizes. ⸻ Want this adapted into a short review for Yelp/Google with a photo caption suggestion too?

This place was recommended by a friend. I've been to several coffee shop / breakfast places in Waco but this one had the biggest menu of them all and everything I ordered was great. As a matter of fact I came back three more times during the week I was here!
Kevin S — Google review
We had been wanting to try breakfast here. To start; we waited a while for service which wasn't a big deal until we realized that we were 1 of about 4 tables in the whole place and there were 3 servers. My cappuccino was very watery as were my husband's biscuits and gravy. Not runny gravy... watery. Not creamy at all. Of all the offerings on the menu I chose quiche... I had been craving a good quiche. This place was usually busy and I felt that reflected of the food and service. It smelled clean when we walked in so we thought they're bound to be good... NO. My "quiche" came out and visibly I was already disappointed. It looked like a brick that you build houses with. I stuck my fork in and got the same.... it was pre-made (which I expected) hard, rubbery, and hard to chew. And while the pancakes had good flavor they left much to be desired in the fluff department. To the owners of this establishment; please Google what quiche is and take the brick off the menu! Last but not least; I was forced to eat said brick because I was starving and my server never came back to check on me. Very disappointing date with my husband.... UPDATE- As can be seen below; business owners don't have time for a genuine response anymore. While we appreciate your apology it is not taken with the same feeling of mutual respect when it is obviously the same bulk chain response that every guest gets when we come to an owner with genuine concern for their business. We do not take time out of our day to review your place of business to hurt your business. We take time to give you a review because we want to see you get better and do better. Have a nice day and please do better.

Brittany was our waitress. She was wonderful with the kids & very helpful with suggestions for meals. My son said, "Britanny was the best waitress!! These were the best pancakes in the world!!!! I give it 1 million of 5 🌟 🤩 ⭐️. Next time we come to Waco this is our breakfast place. "
MonaLisa F — Google review
Been here a few times, it’s one of the better breakfast places in Waco. We waited about about 5-10 minutes using the check in website to check in. Service was quick to get us drinks and take our food order. After we ordered it took a bit for our food to come out. Maybe 25-30 minutes. The music kept fluctuating in volume which was a bit distracting. Also someone was messing with the lights. The lights in the restaurant turned on and off a few times but no big deal. The food was mostly very great. Mexican mash is super flavorful. Everything was cooked really well except the biscuits and gravy was cold. One single egg on the side was charged 4.05 with surprising and a bit of a rip off since a lot of the items were just barely more than that for a larger amount of food. Other than the biscuits and gravy being cold, overcharged for a single egg, and the food taking a bit to come out it was great. We enjoyed it!

Heritage Creamery is a beloved ice cream and cookie shop in Waco, Texas, known for its locally sourced ingredients and homemade treats. Founded by Blake and Kimberly, who are Baylor graduates and prioritize using natural ingredients without additives or preservatives. Situated near Baylor University campus and downtown Waco, it's a popular spot to grab a refreshing treat during the hot Texas summers. Their signature flavors like Duck Fat Caramel and Cowboy Coffee are not to be missed!
The ice cream selection is fantastic. Also one of the best waffle bowls that I've had in a long time. I had the banana foster. Great pit stop if you are driving to or from Austin, Dallas.
Ajith V — Google review
I’ve visited here a few times over the past several years. It’s a fairly nice experience, it’s a unique place and not a franchise which is the very reason for me to visit. As I drove up the dark street I thought maybe the place had gone out of business. The vintage ice cream truck parked on the street sat like an abandoned ship in dry-dock, with all manner of dirt, leaves and debris piled around. It seems the street-sweepers simply drive around the edges of this eyesore. All-the-while shoving more crap under around the resting hulk. It is, apparently, a vehicle parked on a public street with an expired, 2012 registration sticker. Waco is a wonderfully forgiving town. The ice cream is good, but 4 flavors were “out”. This was surprising since it was a Thursday evening and Baylor University is on Christmas break. No students around to scarf up all the goodies. As I sat leisurely enjoying two scoops in a freshly-made and quite delicious waffle cone, I noticed the dilapidated look about the place. Several large water stains on the ceiling, many burned out light bulbs, etc. The most remarkable feature was the astonishing collection of cobwebs about the place. I think that the last time a dust-broom has been here was opening day in March 2016. I WAS taken by the length-of-service of the light bulbs above the service bar. They burn nicely and CLEARLY haven’t been touched in an impressively long time. Must be LEDs. Smart choice.

Absolutely loved this ice cream shop! The vintage interior gives it such a unique and charming vibe—like stepping back in time. The ice cream flavors are creative and delicious, and the freshly prepared waffle cones take everything to the next level. A must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Sourced from milk-king dairy in McGregor, this independent creamery is true to using local ingredients… and the taste shows. They offer pint size tubs of various flavors for $9. While their ice cream is more expensive, it is worth a try. We enjoyed their butter pecan and their coffee flavor is a good pick too.

Bangkok Royal is a contemporary Thai restaurant that has become a beloved staple in Waco, particularly among the Baylor community. Known for its healing ginger soup and the delightful Tom Kha Kai, this eatery offers an array of curries, noodles, and fried rice dishes with plenty of vegetarian options to satisfy all palates.
Waco is blessed by this Thai restaurant and we are thankful. We’ve been supporters for years and are thankful for the consistently good food and good atmosphere. Whether takeout or dine in, you can count on Bangkok. We consistently get the pad kee mao, the pad Thai, Panang and green curry. Can’t go wrong with any of these.

Had the yellow & green curry. Sorta bland with some heat but not terrible overall. Zaza Thai in McKinney gives 2 cups more curry for the same price with amazing flavors & 0-5 heat level, + 7 types and 7 meat choices. Duck is absolutely amazing

Great location right near the Brazos Riverwalk suspension Bridge area. A beautiful walk from major hotels and Baylor University. The food is good, Ginger soup was clean and refreshing, perfect for a cool evening. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) was good but not amazing. I was bummed that they no longer serve Fresh Rolls 😕. The restaurant was very clean and the service was excellent! I would definitely go back and try other menu items.

The portions were not comparable to the prices. There seemed to be a lacking of spices/flavor to the dishes as well. The atmosphere is quite nice and the restaurant is attractively decorated. The waitress is extremely polite and friendly but the gentleman who brought the dishes to the table and operated the register appeared to have left his warmth and charm at home.

Gluten-free restaurant
Poppa Rollo's Pizza has been a Waco staple since 1959, known for its iconic pizzas and family-friendly atmosphere. The restaurant offers a throwback environment with classic arcade games, vaudevillian cartoons on a large projection screen, and even secret passageways between areas of the restaurant. In addition to their delicious pizza, Poppa Rollo's also provides gluten-free options and beer specials throughout the week.
I ordered through DoorDash. The pizza arrived cold and late but, was still divine. They have vegan cheese, which is such a bonus! Vegan options are fairly small in Waco, TX. We will be ordering from Poppa Rollos again. We will either eat in the restaurant or pick up next time. 3 different pizzas, all mini size. Which is 4 small pieces. We got a build your own with pizza sauce, cheese on top and mozzarella. My daughter loved it. We also ordered a Hawaiian pizza with pineapple. I loved the flavor of this pizza. The pineapple was delicious. Not small, flacid pieces but, nice and fresh tasting. Finally, we ordered a build your own with vegan cheese, pineapple, mushrooms, red onions and bell peppers. We were impressed by the quality of both the mushrooms and pineapple. The mushrooms were not soggy but fresh tasting and good size pieces. 👌 Thank you, again for considering your vegan and lactose intolerant customers.

For a place that raves to have the best pizza in town, I found it to be somewhat lacking. The pizza sauce was good, but the toppings were like straight out of a can. The dough reminded me of what we would get from a DYI pizza box at the grocery store. The service was as if they were busy even though they were not. I have no intention of returning. I'm sure they are not the best in town.

So my husband went to wake up to go to home zone to look for a sound furniture when we asked the people there.Where was the best place to eat pizza? They said Papa rolo's, so we were like back. That's where we're gonna go eat for lunch.😛 so when we pull up the bsit in a little parking lot. But they have different art on the building. They have pictures from the movie 300, Albert Einstein, Ben Franklin all eating pizza lol too funny. To add to it, they have the little rascals, the three stooges and sten and oliver from laura and hardy stained on the windows on the outside of the building. Very nostalgic invented the whole building😊 my type of place, so when you walk in the inside, everything is decorated so authentic. From the little horse that you could ride on when you were little used to b. E in front of grocery stores back in the day that you would put a quarter in and be ye hawing lol.🤠 They had a bumblegum machine on top of a Blast the Gollie pinball machine🤯 They also had games i saw 2 basketball hoop games. There was another pinball machine game and some other games to the left , but they were a lot of people sitting on that side. But a lot of stuff to keep you busy while you wait and after you eat. 😉 That was one side you could sit on the other side where we sat had the T. V that played 3 stooges the whole time. 🤣 Those guys didn't have any lick of sense🤣They also have an upstairs loft area where you can eat, and there's like little games for I would say from 2 to 5 year olds to play with and keep busy while you wait on your pizza. Also, all over the building, they have different vintage signs and sands and pictures of art. But the coolest thing I thought was. We had to go to the restroom to wash our hands, and you have to walk down this little hall. And then there's this brick wall that you have to push, and then it goes into a hole. Another other freaking big room. I was like, wow. 🤯 So when we went in, there was probably a birthday party🥳 going on, but that room was huge also. Connected to that was the bathrooms, but this place had little hidden gems everywhere you turned around.😀 So before we got to where the bathroom was, Isaac, our server, got our drinks. I ordered a pink lemonade, and my husband got a Sprite, and they were on the table when we returned. When we came back, he told us a little bit about the pizza and the about the history of Poppa Roll's and that he thought not just because he were there that they had the best pizza but like I told him we heard that also at the furniture store. 🙌 He also try to offer us some wings. But we weren't in the mood for wings. We really just wanted to taste the pizza. But he said the wings are also good. They're not small. They're big so we will probably try those the next time we come in☺️ We ordered our pizza that had everything on it. I think it was called the works, and please forgive me. I took a picture of the menu, but I forgot to take the picture of that one freaking page🤦‍♀️ I did take pictures of the pizza and man.😋 Let me tell you when that pizza came out. It looked so good. One thing I really liked about the pizza was that it wasn't very saucy because some pizza places put a lot of red sauce or tomato sauce on the pizza.😵‍💫 I do have to say it is one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life. 😋 So kudos to you, Papa Rollo's.Ya'll have the number one title🏆🏅🎉🎊 Thank you, Isaac, for being a great server until next time✌️🫶🍕

My my family have been long time customers for many years. We can’t figure out why things have gone so badly here. You can literally go in there unknown and chill out and know body will even know that you are there. Poppa Rollas is losing their lunch crowd. We opened the back door twice to make the buzzer sound to let anyone know that we were inside. This place has serious issues. So sad because they used to to be so so awesome. ☹️

The World Cup Cafe and Fair Trade Market is a vibrant and socially conscious cafe located in Waco, Texas. It offers a variety of specialty coffees, pastries, and full plates at reasonable prices. The cafe celebrates diversity and supports fair trade by selling goods from different cultures. As part of Mission Waco, it also provides training in the food service industry to contribute to the community's economic development.
I ordered the World Cup Express breakfast for takeout. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted warmly and genuinely felt welcomed. My order was ready upon my arrival, the food smelled great and was warm. The French toast was exceptional, the scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked, and the bacon and sausage were flavorful and expertly prepared. It is unfortunate that I can only rate it five stars, as it truly deserves more. I eagerly anticipate returning, dining in, and exploring other menu options.

The owner was friendly and welcoming. That is where that ended. I ordered French toast and over medium eggs and they were served on the same plate 😭 since she put the food down and ran away, I couldn't ask her for anything else. She saw me not eating when she went to a table next to mine and still walked away after taking their order. Finally 8 minutes later I flagged her down so I could PLEASE eat my food. All I needed was a plate for the French toast. Everything tasted great except that it was cold since I was being ignored and my eggs were ruined with maple syrup and pecans. When I finally asked for another plate she said, "for what, to go?" Um, no, I would like to eat my food. Everything is great by the way thanks for asking!!! I will never return based on this visit.

Nestled in the heart of Waco, TX, Sascee's Southern Style Eatery is a charming spot that captures the essence of Southern comfort food. This family-owned establishment prides itself on serving up classic dishes made from cherished family recipes. The inviting atmosphere is enhanced by friendly service and soft jazz music, making it a perfect place to unwind while enjoying homestyle favorites like chicken fried steak, oxtails, and BBQ ribs.
The food was too good that I didn’t get any photos. The salt and pepper on the table weren’t and didn’t need to be touched. I am only ever traveling through Waco for medical stuff so the joy of well cooked veggies in particular was appreciated. I just wish my mom was with me because she would’ve liked it even more than me.

The cabbage was delicious, and the mashed potatoes with gravy was good, but unfortunately the fried chicken wasn't crispy and the stewed okra was a little spicy. It's a buffet, so you go to the back to the buffet to order, then eat, then pay at the counter by the door.

Boss lady got the 1 meat, the fried chicken, (all size meat dishes comes with 3 sides), mashed potatoes, stewed cabbage, and squash. They brought us some warm cornbread, and I asked for butter. She handed me a small bowl of melted butter...I think I love her!!! I had the 3 meat, with smoked ribs, baked chicken, and neck bone. Sides were the cabbage, carrots and spinach. The neck bone was my favorite! Had a butter cake and fresh peach cobbler for dessert...very delicious!

First time visiting this place, and I was impressed. The food is well seasoned, affordably priced (especially in this economy) and portions were enough for me to take some home. This is a can't go wrong spot.

This is by far the best soul food in the area. Great customer service. I felt right at home. Was very affordable with nice size portion. I had enough left over to eat again later. 1000/10 do recommend I had the smothered pork chops very tinder , yams, dressing ,Mac and cheese ,and greens Husband got bake chicken, greens, And black eye peas, Unlimited cornbread

I wanted to LOVE it. This review has 2 parts. We loved the service and people. However, the food has some challenges. Apparently, Sundays are the day to come. The a/c was not working, so they had fans going. Not a very comfortable atmosphere in summer heat. Though atmosphere was not a big deal to me, it was unfortunate about the a/c. The tables were set with tablecloths and that was a plus. However, the bathroom had soap dispenser with water in it, no soap. My husband's ribs didn't have a lot of flavor he said. The yams were good and the cabbage was good. The cornbread was just ok. The fried chicken was pretty good for me. The piece my husband had was dry. The lady serving said they have more offerings on Sunday. ( Selection) I wish they would be on point every day, not just Sunday. I'm not saying don't give this place a try - maybe it is better than this, it was just an off day when we visited. However, like I stated, the folks working there were very hospitable. As far as cost- For the price, I don't think it was worth the price tag of $50+ 2 meals + drinks+ tip ( 1 meat, & 2 meat)

When traveling, I'm always looking for the sometimes hidden or unknown treasures. This place is definitely a treasure! Upon entering the restaurant, we were promptly greeted by friendly service and smiles. Soft jazz was playing and the tables were decorated as this was Mother's Day weekend. The aroma of fresh homemade cooking filled the air. We were seated quickly and service was prompt. I ordered the baked chicken, homemade red beans and cabbage. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Probably the best baked chicken I have ever had. The meal was complete after trying their fresh peach cobbler! Dee-licious! Stop by, say hello, and stay for some homemade southern cooking!

Chick-fil-A is a popular fast-food chain known for its chicken sandwiches, nuggets, salads, and sides. Despite long lines, customers are greeted by friendly staff who take their orders and hand out receipts with a smile. The efficient employees continue to provide excellent service by delivering the prepared order promptly. Chick-fil-A locations are always bustling with satisfied customers enjoying the delicious food.
Amazing service. Jacob, one of the managers was very kind and through in a cookie and offered me a free drink because I was waiting longer for my food. I wasn’t even waiting long and didn’t even think about complaining. Every chic fil a has good service but this one is top notch. Food was incredible.

Employees are great. Sat in line for 35+ minutes, while all orders were going to the order online line. For $22 dollars you’d think they could at least fill up the fries container. Not a great experience tonight!

We went through drive through on August 4 at 6:52 pm we order 2 regular sandwiches and a regular with no pickles and add Colby jack cheese, plus a cookie and 2 sweet teas Brianna in the drive through completely butchered our order she didn’t read it back to us or anything was to worried about talking to my boyfriend about small talk. When we go to the window they didn’t have my boyfriend’s name or our order…. They had one for Jessie not his names…. We got 2 spicy sandwiches 3 sweet teas a regular sandwich with pepper jack instead of Colby and no cookie… the manager barley could understand us due to langue barriers and she brought us two regular sandwiches but completely forgot my boyfriends sandwich he hates spicy food… so instead of complaining for a third time he just accepted the food and we left. I love this location I live right down the road this was the first time there service was not up to standards for a normal Chick-fil-A… and it was very disappointing.

Oh honey, it’s worth sitting int the fast moving line for. Smiling faces greet you, repeat your order. Another awesome employee is there in line to hand your receipt to you. Next employee, still polite and smiles, gives you your order and wishes you an awesome day! Just look around, not a Chick-fil-a without the longest line around. The food is great. I’ll be back!

The best Chick-fil-A in town. Friendly stuff, delicious food, good service, very clean and a play area for children. Chicken nuggets are delicious for pick eaters especially kids. This place is always packed during lunchtime especially the drive through but they still have good service.

Harvest on 25th is a farm-to-table restaurant in Waco, Texas that offers a unique and delicious breakfast experience. The menu features a variety of options including strawberry lemon poppy pancakes, blackberry lavender french toast, and a brunch socca with flatbread, pistachio pesto, caramelized onions, roasted tomatoes, avocado and egg.
We came here because we like the selection available on the menu. If you eat meat, they have some good options, as well. I had the hamburger which was very flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and delicious. The service was fantastic. They were very nice and helpful.

Harvest on 25th is a very nice brunch place in Waco! The food was really good and we loved their sweet/savory options. The service was really nice but it does take a bit for the food to come to our table (it was really busy so it makes sense). The atmosphere was also very nice and pleasant. Overall, I’d definitely recommend coming here when in Waco!
Sreyash H — Google review
This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered the margherita pizza which was pretty flavorful but a little lacking and I also got the Pesto chicken Sammie sandwich with sweet potato fries. This sandwich was very disappointing to say the least. Good idea but poorly executed I would say. The chicken was super dry and the sandwich overall was very dry, could have used more of some sauce that added moisture. Did not finish sandwich and for $16 I would have expected more flavor. The sweet potato fries were super charred and was a bit too charred for me, even though I do like certain foods cooked this way. Not sure I would return to try again. Very disappointing for my first visit. UPDATE: Really appreciate Harvest responding so quickly and refunding the cost of my sandwich. Might give them a second chance to stop by just for the prompt follow up.

Truly a wonderful dining experience. Whether you live in or are just passing through Waco make a plan to eat here. From the scones to the migas to the coffee, everything was delicious. We will definitely stop in again when traveling to The Big D.

Tried this place while driving through town and it was good for the most part. I had the Mushroom and Zucchini omelette which surprisingly was delicious. The sauce they used was different and elevated the taste of the omelette. I also had the pancakes which I felt were pretty basic and a bit dry. Overall experience was good.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the falafel salad (vegan). Good meal. The ordering process was simple: place your order, receive a ticket, find your table, and set the ticket down kinda of smooth and straightforward Parking can be a bit tricky, especially during peak hours or if 25th Street is busy. I asked if it was okay to park next door and they kindly approved it The customer service was wonderful, friendly and helpful throughout

Oh My Juice Waco is a health-conscious cafe that offers a wide range of cold-pressed juices, smoothies and bites. They use fresh whole foods to make their juices, with no additional sugars or preservatives. The cafe has a great location in downtown Waco, and they are also at the Waco Farmer's Market on Saturdays.
Whenever I travel I like to find healthy food places, so I am so glad that I went to Oh My Juice! Easy walking distance from the hotel and convention center. The juice was good and a little sweet, but not too much. Egg sandwich was also good, with a tiny kick from the red pepper flakes in it. Very cute atmosphere, and fun swing chairs outside.

We dropped by for a fresh brunch - a bowl of some kind. The menu is quite extensive with many nice choices. The staff was knowledgeable and could recommend bowls to our taste. They were well made and tasted well. My wife especially loved them. I am personally not much a fan of these bowls - half frozen berries and smoothies - I prefer bacon and cheese. But none the less, the food was really fresh and well made.

Oh My Juice is the cutest little juice shop! Located on a quaint walkable street, we stopped in and were blown away by the atmosphere! Vibes are normally the selling point for me, but in this case I didn't have to sacrifice the quality of the product to just get a post-worthy photo-- because the açaí was delicious! I live in San Diego and have a good bowl at my finger tips daily-- who knew Waco would out rank the west!?! All that being said- go! Enjoy an assortment of juices, açaí and smiles and see for yourselves!

I was excited to try this spot out, but was very disappointed. The acai bowl i ordered was not only gross, but I also asked for no pineapple and they added that on it! Not to mention I waited for my bowl for about 30min as teenagers tried to figure everything out, as if that was their first day working. I would not recommend this place at all, go somewhere else!

I visit OMJ every time I am in Waco and lament not having a spot with the quality and options of OMJ where I live normally. Pinewood is a whole vibe ☕🌿 If you’re in Waco and love a good coffee spot, Pinewood Coffee Bar is the place. The drinks are legit—smooth, rich, and never too sweet. You can tell they take pride in their beans and brews. The space has this cozy, low-key charm with wood accents, comfy seating, and a super chill crowd. I saw folks studying, catching up, and just soaking in the good vibes. The outdoor courtyard? 10/10—peaceful, shaded, and perfect for slow mornings or afternoon breaks. Service was friendly, everything felt easy and intentional. It’s one of those places you wanna linger a bit longer. Definitely worth a stop if you’re rollin’ through Waco.

Beautiful location with lots of seating. Very popular especially on rainy days. The staff is incredibly friendly and the coffee is excellent! In the morning before noon there’s extra seating in the building next-door before the bar opens. In the afternoon you can enjoy a brew over in the second building if you prefer.

Just driving through and decided to stop in. Just a fun place to grab a coffee and hit the books if you are student. Great selection of teas that can also be made iced.
Kate B — Google review
Sweet spot. Might have bungled wife’s tea order and my espresso had grounds in it. No food. Cannot accommodate parties larger than 4 in main indoor space. Outdoor space looked very pleasant, although it was rainy when we went. Ended up in the pub space also owned by Pinewood across the courtyard.

I'd go here everyday if I could. Great atmosphere. They had a record player for the music. Only make things with whole milk. Lots of wood. My kind of vibe.
J.M. P — Google review
✨Great coffee, great atmosphere! I was immediately impressed by the cozy atmosphere when I walked in. I love the wood paneling on the walls and the plants everywhere. There is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, so we didn’t have a problem finding a place to sit. I loved the music they were playing too, it just added to the chill atmosphere. They have a really nice shaded patio area with benches. I ordered the cold brew with oat milk, and it was delicious. My friend ordered a chai latte and they loved it. The coffee was smooth and flavorful, and the oat milk added a nice touch of creaminess. I also really liked the fact that they offer a variety of vegan and gluten-free options. The service at Pinewood Coffee Bar is also top-notch. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, and they take the time to make sure your drink is perfect. I also appreciate that they offer free Wi-Fi, so you can work or relax on your laptop while you enjoy your coffee. Overall, I had a great experience at Pinewood Coffee Bar. The coffee is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great coffee shop in Waco. They are open from 7am to 7pm, Monday thru Friday, and 8am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday. They have a full menu of coffee drinks, non-dairy milk, and pastries. They have a wall of trendy merch and bagged coffee.

The Blasian Asian is a popular food truck at Union Hall, offering traditional Cambodian dishes like noodles and skewers. The food is cooked to order using fresh ingredients, resulting in delicious flavors. Additionally, the food truck has gained attention on social media for its extravagant milkshakes. Despite occasional menu shortages, the overall experience and taste of the cuisine have received positive feedback from visitors.
The food was AMAZING! Very polite & friendly staff. We had some leftovers we took home & I ate it the next day( I usually hate leftover takeout) but the flavors were just bursting in my mouth. So worth every penny. If we find ourselves out this side again we'll definitely be eating here again.

Overall I wanted to love it but man the food just isn't there for me. It lacks flavor (except the skewers those were awesome very small and skinny but great tasting) the noodles were literally like the cheapest ramen noodles and they tasted like it. The spring rolls taste like plain boiled cabbage. And let's not even start on the portion size lol can I atleast have the rest of my .25cent ramen package ended up eating at a different place in the hall because it was not filling and the only thing I'd call good were the skewers.
J H — Google review
If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. The bread on the Tofu Bahn Mi we ordered was a Ciabatta bread that was stale, cold and dry. I am used to a French baguette that’s crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The tofu was cold and not seasoned or cooked (grilled or sautéed) thoroughly. There was white American mayo inside instead of yellow Vietnamese mayo and the pickled veggies did not have very much flavor. Sadly, the fried rice we ordered was dry and seemed like it had been reheated. I also asked for extra veggies and didn’t receive it. The staff I placed the order with over the phone seemed very abrasive and rude as well. Overall, a disappointing service and food experience.
Huong P — Google review
We have eaten here since it opened. Tonight I got the yellow noodles spice level 2 and my daughter had fried rice with chicken spice level 4. This is what we always order. I am not sure what was going on in the kitchen but both of our dishes were so hot we barely ate any of it. It was actually so hot we couldn't even taste the food. The line was so long we didn't want to wait for a remake. Over all we were so disappointed we just tossed it away and left.
Anita H — Google review
The food was amazing went yesterday forgot to review! The eggrolls 100% must try, especially the one with meat! Their fried rice is your choice of protein and very garlicky if that is not your thing I would not recommend… I wonder if they are able to adjust that 🤔. Looking forward to the next time I go they have more options but off what I received/ordered I will definitely be returning!
Alexander B — Google review
I really really wanted to like this place. As a Khmer, it's a rare treat to find a place that serves up Khmer cuisine. So traditionally, most really tasty Khmer dishes take a while to prepare and I get that this isn't the place for that (think food truck) so instead of a rural country side dish a khmer grandma made, it's more of a Phnom Penh fast food variety. Again, it's fine but I was missing what my mother, aunt and grandma would make. The dishes, which I included for you to see, were on the dry side and my particular dish was on the salty side. The other 2 said their dishes were on the sweet spectrum and the slices of carrots were dry. Overall, the consensus was that it tastes like generic Chinese take out. Again, you don't see many Khmer, or Cambodian restaurants in the wild and my hopes were high but I was let down. Plus the prices were on the high side...and that's without drinks. So many white people will think Khmer food tastes like generic Chinese take out...please don't!

I just did Uber Eats and the food I ordered was chicken fried rice with extra egg. The chicken and egg were so dry it taste like beef jerky and I also requested for my rice to be spicy there is no spice

Fabulous food! "Hole in the wall" is accurate, but you don't go to a taqueria (Mexican fast food) necessarily for the atmosphere--it's about the food! The staff was very friendly and the store itself is super cute. However, the drinks weren’t to our liking. Even after reducing the sugar level, they were overwhelmingly sweet with a strong artificial taste, so we couldn’t finish them. The dirty milk tea I ordered had an unexpected floral flavor that felt out of place. I saw other reviews mentioning that the tea leaves are from Taiwan, but I honestly couldn’t taste much tea at all — it was more like watered-down milk with sugar.

My husband and I checked out Uncle Worms for the first time and we had a brisket sandwich. The bbq sauce was very tasty and the meat was tender. The aesthetics seemed to be a shabby chic motif. Omar was very nice and sat down at the table to tell us more about the daily options. They have a different menu item according to which day you go. Highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely go again.Went back again yesterday and everything was great.

Visiting Waco. Walked in Sunday afternoon about 145. Was the only one there and thought.. oh boy. Was warmly greeted and seated and brought the brunch menu. Ordered the brisket Mac and cheese. They brought it out, and I thought to myself, I wonder how this is going to taste. Well it was DELICIOUS. The Mac n cheese itself was very good but the brisket on top was awesome. I mixed it all up and was super full. Got banana pudding to go.

Stopped off here on a whim. We liked the atmosphere and the wife had a burger and I had a toasted pecan chicken salad roll. The wife said her burger was one of the nicest she has ever had. Fries, were slightly salty but the did grilled onions when she asked and that was great. Service was good. Would recommend this joint.

The food was good. The pork was a little sweet for my liking. The Mac momma had a LOT of Buffalo sauce on it, next time I will get it on the side. The waitress seemed new and nervous, but she was sweet. The drinks were good as well. Place is a little off the beaten track but overall I give it 4 solid stars.

Place is much more fun and comfortable than it sounds! Very down to earth, owner will come talk to you and explain their history and some of his favorite dishes if you haven't been before. They usually have off menu specials and will also try to accommodate your order. Food is very good with giant portions. The BBQ sauce is very tasty, tender brisket. We had the Mac Momma and Omar's Nachos. The sweet tea is DEFINITELY Texas style! Very sweet and delicious made in house. Would recommend again especially if you like brisket, cheese, and hearty dishes. Service was very good.

It really started picking up around 7:30pm. It''s one of those places where the locals go and all know each other, and everyone was very nice and welcoming.

Mexican restaurant
Wako Taco is a popular spot known for its fresh and delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. One of their must-try dishes is the chilaquiles plate, featuring eggs, salsa, and deep-fried tortilla chips topped with queso fresco, cilantro, onions, and sour cream. Another tasty option is the huevos rancheros: two fried eggs on a fried guarache covered in ranchero sauce. The restaurant has received building permits for expansion, indicating its growing popularity.
I have been patroning Mexican food in Waco for four decades. I had my favorites and only reluctantly followed a recommendation to come here. I was not disappointed! First it is worth point out that our server, Monica, was very sweet. My 8 year old for some reason decided to sit at the bar and she happily accommodated his request for something specific on the TV. That aside, she was very polite professional, attentive and the whole experience was great. Most importantly the food was phenomenal. Chips were great and the salsa was the best. The Birria Tacos were great and the enchiladas were great too. The water was also fantastic. It is worth noting because our tap water in Waco notoriously doesn’t taste good. I am highly impressed. Waco needs more places like this. It was remodeled, clean, safe and comfortable. Can’t recommend enough!🍌

Had the best lunch here recently and even ordered an item they do not have on menu. They happily obliged my request (shrimp burrito bowl) and were very friendly. Service was quick and the chips and salsa divine! If you ever order to go, ask for the chip salsa instead of the red to go salsa. Hands down the best in the area. If you have small children, there is a small outdoor seating area for them to run around. Definitely adding to favorites!

First time coming here. The town people loved this place and I said what’s the best food and the recommendation was this place. The inside is a neat little setup with a small bar to the left. It also had an outdoor patio. I got a yogurt bowl and this amazing taco with a dipping sauce and pickled onions. It was filling but didn’t make me feel overly full.

Stopped in while passing through town. So glad I did! Very clean and pleasant dining area. The staff is very friendly and polite. It was lunchtime and there were only 4 other parties in the restaurant. Food came out quickly and with a nice presentation. I had the birria taco plate. Awesome taste and plenty of food with the three taco. Served with chips and salsa and under $13 with water to drink. Overall a great experience and highly recommend.

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with quick, friendly service. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit!

Looks nice on the outside, but beans taste like out of a can and they had hot dogs in it🤢, pico de gallo was not fresh at all🤢, steak meat taste more gamey, so not sure if that fresh enough. Drive thru girl was pleasant and food served fairly fast….and green salsa side was the best out of the entire: Steak Bowl. Came out @$18 for this lunch.
Dani — Google review
The food here is great! Everything we've tried has been delicious! The service is good and the restaurant is comfortable. There's not a ton of seating so you may want to get here early.
Dale S — Google review
They have the best burritos in Waco by far. They do have one glaring weakness which is the red salsa as it has gotten better its still more tomato soupish however everything else is amazing especially the green salsa for the burritos.

Bakery
Nestled in Waco, Lula Jane's is a cozy and friendly cafe offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cafe is committed to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, which sets it apart from others in the area. Lula Jane's Bakery, located nearby, is known for its wide range of pastries baked fresh daily with locally sourced ingredients. Additionally, the cafe offers homemade goodies like brownies, breads, and cookies.
What a lovely place! I was visiting Waco for a convention and read about Lula Jane's before heading to town and had to check it out. It more than delivered on my hopes for a quaint, friendly, and homey experience with delicious, made-from-scratch food. It's in a part of town that is undergoing a good bit of construction so my walk to get there from my hotel across the river was interesting, but don't let that discourage you if you are walking over. It's a very lovely building and space that really does make you feel welcome, and the staff and owner, who I believe was sitting in the main area holding court with some locals and greeting regulars, are warm and inviting. There were many locals at tables with their laptops and coffee, and I felt like I was walking into a truly local institution. Unfortunately for me, I didn't get there as early as I had planned to (I was there around 10 am) so they had run out of their scones that I had hoped to try. However, I was still able to enjoy a delicious breakfast with their banana bread (warmed up) and the baked oatmeal (all the way). Both were excellent. The banana bread tasted like my grandmother's (which is a good thing) and that oatmeal was crazy good with incredible blueberries (I really want to know where they get them from!). Also had a great cup of their Columbian coffee in my adorable "It's a New Granddaughter" mug. The best thing I did though was order a piece of buttermilk pie to go. I'm telling you folks, that was a slice of heaven! I no longer live in a part of the country where buttermilk pie is common (terrible, right?!?) so I just had to have it. SO glad I did! On top of all that, I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. My entire order was $12...and honestly I would have paid twice that much without blinking an eye. So, it's plain to see that I loved Lula Jane's, and I desperately wish that I had had the time to go back again and try even more of what they have to offer. Needless to say, I very much think that you should too!

Boy did we get a sweet spot for this place. They had a few gluten free options. We decided to go with the brownie. Lets just say it did not dissapoint! It was fudgy & decadent with a thin layer of yummy frosting! They have a cute area you can eat inside with a self serve honor system coffee station. (Water was free too) They also have a decent size outdoor area. They have one in the front that was semi shaded, and one seating area along the side that was pretty shaded. The staff was very friendly. I felt like I walked into Grandmas kitchen full of great smells, a touch of nostalgia & friendly faces. Thanks yall!

Excellent in all aspects. Outdoor seating was beautiful, the service was great. Loved my Colombian coffee and the breakfast pie. Food is delicious, a very original concept. I will most definitely be stopping by next visit to Waco.

So delicious! A must-do when visiting Waco. Lula is all about the desserts but they also offer a limited lunch menu that is to die for!
Chelsea H — Google review
Really wanted to love this place, but left with an ”it’s okay” feeling. We got there about 10 minutes after they opened, and tried to order the French toast. It was a brunch option, but none of their brunch options were ready yet so I had to settle for their breakfast pie. It was good but not warm, and definitely not what I had in mind for breakfast. They didn’t give me any indication how long it would’ve taken for the brunch to be ready, but someone that came after me knew about being able to order and wait so he went ahead. About the time we were leaving, his came out and looked/smelled amazing. If they’d given me the option to wait, I’d sure have done it. Yes, I know to wait now, but it was our first time to visit and we didn’t know it was an option. In fact, they made it seem like it was NOT an option by saying “our brunch items are not ready yet but you can order anything on our regular breakfast menu”. I will try to go back but since they apparently rotate their brunch offerings, who knows what will be available. Overall impression: meh.

We found a favorite place in Waco and it’s eating at Lula Jane’s! We’d recommend this to everyone to visit and try. Our favorite hands down is the Veggie burger! The service, food, and atmosphere are all great! Thx Nancy for everything and we plan to return and introduce your place to our daughter and grandson! 👍🏽🌺🌹😎😉

So very very good. Best pimento cheese sandwich I’ve ever had. Melted in your mouth. Pie was also fantastic. Customer service was stellar. Such a great place, sad I have been missing out all this time, will definitely be back ASAP.

Fine dining restaurant
Red Herring Restaurant & Bar in Waco has quickly become a popular spot, offering flawless service and delicious cuisine. The squid ink pasta is a must-try, bursting with flavor, and the curated cocktail menu perfectly complements the meal. The ambiance is unique with a stunning piano in the lounge area. It's an upscale and trendy spot that fills a void in Waco's dining scene. With its modern 70s aesthetic, it's great for family dinners, celebrations, or classy dates.
Amazing solo dine-in experience at Red Herring. The service and the foods are top notch. I had Keith as my server, and he was really friendly (and he also recommended really good food on the menu). Definitely come back for my next trip to Waco. P/S: Really sorry for the confusion when I was ordering by the way. You guys are amazing💯
Bui H — Google review
My husband and I were visiting Waco, we wanted to go to a nice restaurant for dinner and I found Red Herring Restaurant & Bar online. The food , atmosphere, service were amazing. If you are into plants (like me) they have so many real plants all throughout the restaurant. The only downside was it wasn’t very cool inside so we were getting warm towards the end of our meal after a few drinks.

The delicious food, creative bar menu, rooftop views and super cool vibe and decor make it a must do in Waco. Super close to Baylor University and the perfect place for a date night or special event. The banquet space is stunning!
Bert M — Google review
This place brings something different to Waco which I love. Their style of serving smaller portions meant to be shared around the table is also great. It’s something very common in other countries. The service was top notch. Some of the best I’ve seen in a while. I highly recommend the focaccia and the crispy potatoes. They have a lot of vegetarian options, and there’s really something for everyone here without the menu being too overwhelming. I liked the ambience, but did feel like it was a little overly dark. Overall nice good addition to Waco’s food scene.
Taylor T — Google review
If you’re considering dining here, be prepared for small portion sizes—yes, even the medium and large plates lean on the modest side. A good way to tell what size you're working with is to glance at the plates arriving at nearby tables before you order. There was some confusion at the start: bread and Caesar salads were brought to our table, and we initially assumed they were complimentary. Turns out, both belonged to the table next to us. It wasn’t our server’s fault, as different staff members deliver the food, but it was a little awkward. Now, on to the food: we ordered the dressed oysters, pork belly skewers, and crab cake. All three were delicious—flavorful, well-prepared, and nicely presented. Again though, portions were on the smaller side. The dress code is best described as business casual. While we saw a few diners in shorts and flip-flops, most were dressed a bit more upscale. I wore distressed (holely) capri jeans with wedge sandals and still felt slightly underdressed. Reservations are a good idea, though you can hang out at the bar while waiting for a table. The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, and the staff was friendly and professional throughout our visit. This is a Mediterranean-inspired menu with prices ranging from $9 to $45. Overall, it was a great experience with high-quality food and service—just don’t expect to leave full unless you’re ordering multiple dishes.
Veronica M — Google review
Great food, smaller portion sizes, very much a “order lots of appetizers as your meal” type of place. Great ambience and wait staff! Neat place!
Reagan H — Google review
This has to be the most beautiful restaurant in all of Waco. The food here is phenomenal and the service is amazing. I enjoyed everything that I ordered here - the Wagyu skewers and the Crudo are a must! The carrots and meatballs are also really good. Super affordable compared to Austin. Seriously, such a lovely place and I would definitely come back.
C M — Google review
Bartender Zach was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, he made us feel welcome with his warm personality and incredible drink-making skills. Every cocktail was crafted to perfection, and his energy truly elevated our night. Zach didn’t just serve drinks—he created an unforgettable experience.

Taco restaurant
Torchy's Tacos is a popular local chain known for its inventive Mexican-street-food-style tacos, including options for breakfast. Originally gaining attention for their deep-fried avocados, the restaurant has expanded its menu to offer a wide variety of taco flavors from across the country. With 15 different flavors available in Waco alone, featuring ingredients like catfish from Alabama and green chile pork from Arizona, along with Texas brisket, there's something to satisfy every craving.
Great food! The tacos are loaded up with delicious meats and toppings… I had the Republican, the Democrat, and the Trailer park. First two were exceptional, Torchy’s may singlehandedly solve America’s divided political climate with 2 tacos. 5 stars!

Great Taco spot! The service is swift and personal. Minimalist gothic style with nice bar. If you want some good Tacos, I recommend!

Food was great , flavorful and good portion size - family friendly environment and plenty of space . The lemon lime margarita special was 10/10 - bartender /server guy was super helpful with recommendations and he also made a good drink - we will be coming back

OMG y'all ROCK!!!! Walked to your restaurant after visiting the #silobration at Magnolia... fast service, super tasty food. Tasty in fact, Hubby orders a few to- go's. We opted to sit outdoors and that was comfy cozy.

Kristian is the absolute best bartender I've had the pleasure to meet and see in yrs. He makes some of the most amazing "knock you socks" drinks I've ever had in my life!! Wow!!! Tonight he had me a Caramel Apple Cocktail". Wow....Best damn drink freaking ever!!! Amazing...OMG!!! Come meet and see him for yourself. You won't regret it!!

First of all the lady at the cash register was rude and we had to tell her 3 x’s what we wanted! My 2 kids chicken tacos were suppose to have corn tortillas and it had flour! The corn was not as good as usual and it was too expensive for 2 kids tacos, 2 small 1/2 size corn and 2 drinks! It was 30 dollars!!! Are you freaking kidding me! Won’t be back!
Gaby K — Google review
30 dollars for 4 tacos that when I get home tacos looked like straight dog food I was very disappointed in this because me and my fiancé thought they would be good considering how expensive and packed they are but I wasn’t able to even feed my child last night because everything I order for her looked like dog food. SMH they need to lower prices on this place or at least give better food service! I would have rather eaten Taco Bell if I would’ve known.
Sapphire J — Google review
Torchys Tacos did not disappoint!! I tasted the Brushfire and the Tipsy chicken tacos. Both were packed with flavor and a kickstart heat. It was so delicious. I topped them off with two sauces which included the Diablo and the Bacon Bourbon marmalade. The bacon marmalade had me shaking my head because I wanted to lick the cup. Overall, the experience was very relaxed and I definitely enjoyed the meal. I will most certainly return to eat some Damn Good tacos as their sign proudly displays.
