Loved this Lil place, the atmosphere is nice you feel like a local. The staff was very friendly and professional. And the tacos were very good. And dont miss out on the Chaya drink omg loved!!

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The tacos were delicious and we tried 4 different ones - the cochinita pibil, chicken with green chorizo, tinga de res, and pork in tomato sauce. We liked them all and the provided salsas. Israel, the waiter, was so kind and nice to speak with. He showed us a few plants in the garden.

We absolutely loved these tacos! We tried 6 and a torta and they were all delicious. My favourite was the Carne con Chorizo and the Carne Adobada

We went just before they closed, not great timing on our end. Super friendly service. The tacos were so good we ordered more, we got to 15 and would have ordered more, but we ate them out of tortillas!

AMAZING!! The food was amazing, the tacos were amazing, everything was amazing. I recommend this place for anyone who wants a quick meal. Only had to wait a little while for the food to be ready. Not air conditioned (It's outside), but there are fans scattered around the place. Yum!! 😋😋

We found this place on a lot of people's recommendations, and while the food was good, we were expecting more. They had a huge variety which was great, but everything was lacking something small. He did mix up our order but that happens. Kind staff, very informal restaurant. Good, but not the hype it gets.

Without hesitation, some of the best food I've had in the peninsula. And that's stiff competition. The service was incredible, it was a pleasant atmosphere, but the breakfast tacos moved me to tears. Wonderful job, truly. Well worth the hype.

What a great restaurant. Welcoming staff, delicious food, pleasant family friendly atmosphere. We have the cochinita pibil and poc chuc. Both were tender, juicy and delicious. The service was very attentive. We didn't have to wait. It was so good we went back a second timime on our last night in Merida. Delicious!

After all the amazing reviews and coverage this place gets, we thought we had to try it for ourselves and went to two of their locations within a few days. While the atmosphere is nice, feels very authentic, and the corn tortillas being prepared in real-time is great, I found the food to be quite bland. The meals looked delicious but flavor was lacking in most of it. The staff was lovely and helpful.

Despite the line for a table these guys move fast and efficient. Food was delivered fast a promptly, great taste, hot and delicious. Great atmosphere of traditional Yucateca dishes. Server was very efficient and always checking on us.

Was my first time in Merida Yucatan Mexico and my friend sed let's go to La Chaya Maya and we went , it was sooo delicious 😋 the ladies are making the corn tortillas right in front of you and there is a parking right before u reach on your right hand u get your ticket and before u left La Chaya Maya tell them to stamp it u will get a discount or maybe u even have to pay for the parking , and let me tell u the have 2 La Chaya Maya and 2 of them are same distance from the Parking u can just ask the parking person , as u come out of the parking if u go to your right hand u do straight on the corner and the next to your left hand and as u reach corner u take your right hand little down and on your right hand there 😉 enjoy.

Someone we met in Merida recommended this place and we're certainly glad that they did. It was amazing. Very very crowded but we only waited about 5 minutes. Everything was amazing.

Very fun lively atmosphere, live Cuban band. The music great, somewhat crowded but people had no problem creating space to dance. Wasn't able to have food or drinks as we had to wait outside in line and by the time we entered the kitchen was closed. So if going on a Friday get there before 8 pm to enjoy the full experience.

My husband and I decided we had wanted to hear some live music and this was a recommendation we received. And this was an amazing experience. Live music, people dancing, smiled abound. A happy mix of locals and tourists all enjoying the sounds and tastes of this super cool cantina! As we sat a waiter came around with some yummy little bites, (free) before we even ordered drinks! We ordered a few Bohemias and then our meals, which WHOA the portion sizes were beyond expectations. My husband had shrimp and langoniza quesadillas which were massive and delicious! I had a mixed plate of 4 tacos and that too, amazing and quite generous in size! As we did not know nor expect the portion sizes to be so large we ordered some guacamole with pork rings! Best guacamole we've ever eaten and even the waiter was surprised at the amount of food we ordered, and virtually finished! If you want to hear some live music, have some amazing food and even dance a little, THIS IS THE PLACE! All of this with shots of mezcal and a few beers and tip came to about 55-60usd! Don't miss this place!

Very fun lively atmosphere with a live band. The music great (and local) Was given complimentary chips at the beginning. We also ordered nachos with pollo (chicken) - massive portion! It was a Friday and we were there around 7:45 onwards but it was busy!! Online menu is extensive and it reached via a QR code. Only negative point is that the cocktails are super watered down and sugary - Probably why many tables were ordering just beer.

I came for the mezcal flight with chapulines but was told after getting the flight they didn’t have. He didn’t explain the types of mezcal either. For $300 pesos it could have been a better experience. Drinks are big but not the best.

Lovely place. People who work there are also great. The overall atmosphere is great. The only problem is regularly caused by ones hired to book tables. That is beyond any civilized communication I have seen. They would confirm table but never bothered to really book!!! Not once, week after week the same all over. No explanation or apology after complaint. They keep ignoring guests. Wild. Only 3stars because they water down drinks to maximum. Barely any alcohol in cocktails. Beer is better option. Overall, enjoy if you can.

We arrived at about 8:30 and there either was no food left or they couldn't be bothered to serve it. We dined on a bowl of nachos. But, the atmosphere and band were electric. People could not stay in their seats. They were dancing wherever there was a gap between tables. A very memorable night. However, they close at 10pm so it was a short evening.

The atmosphere was fantastic and very lively and the servers were great however, the food itself could’ve been better. The picture of what I ordered Definitely did not match what I received. The experience overall was very entertaining.

Bartenders are way overworked and often lose track. But, the food options are great, and it's legitimate quality. Live music, some dancing. Seats close to the music or far back, so you can party or just chill. Great upbeat vibe. Also, the resident cats are so cute!

We came here after the day of the dead parade. There was lots of space to sit down with a group and I liked the aesthetics of the place - cool lights and a band. $130-$150 a cocktail and around $65 for a beer.

I am from USA MI and absolutely had a blast at this place! Erick put a sombrero on mine and my mom's head which made us feel special and included then after a while he seen me grooving at my table with the band so he gave me a cheese grater and a metal utensil so I could play with them. I played at the table along with them and they liked it so much they invited me on stage to play with them! I played a song or two. It was one of the most majestic nights. It was fantastic! Highly recommend!!!

The dragonfruit sorbet was great, but the gelati left something to be desired. It didn't have the creaminess I expect from gelato and the flavors were just a little bit off. It's very good, but not great. The staff was wonderful and the place is nice though. I'm almost sad to not be giving them five stars.

This place just didn’t do anything for me. I love Gelato/Ice Cream. Recently came back from Italy, where we didn’t have a bad gelato. But after trying 6 different flavors here, I didn’t like any of them. We ate my wife’s one and even left that. True the flavors are very unique, pretty salty. Just not my taste. Service was excellent

Great gelato! We enjoyed the clotted cream and dulce de leche + peanut, and the naranja agria/berries + guanabana. The little room off to the side has AC if you're looking to escape the heat a little bit.

Overall a very nice stop on a hot day, one of the few places that doesn’t have the music so loud you have to scream at the person sitting next to you.

Yum. Delicious handcrafted gelato. Great little shop with a cute air conditioned indoor seating area for the hot days, with a tidy washroom too…or steps away from a really nice park (which we chose as a the shady spot to enjoy our ice cream). Easy to miss this little gem as signage is not the greatest, worth searching for it though ;)

Very good ice cream. We liked the lemon and blackberry a lot, a nice mix, and the Cuban custard (flan), it had some crunchy bites that were very nice. The service was also very kind. We paid 105MXN for 2 scoops + 15MXN of whipped cream.

Best food I’ve had in Merida. Run. Don’t walk to try their cochinillo pibil. We had asked locals where they eat and this spot was recommended. I’d make a whole trip to Merida just for this. Also. Fresh squeezed oj and great service. But between the hot sauce, proper tortillas and succulent pig, life is worth living all over again. Updating my review because we kept coming back to eat here. Wow wow wow. The cochinita pibil was outstanding, I want to go back for more already. Wonderful. It's unfair for us to rate the atmosphere because as we were the only ones in there. It was 4pm in 41 degrees. We just wish they were open for dinner.

1st time here, and what a welcome treat to cool you off. Beautiful flavors and amazing vibe. It was not too expensive and a wonderful treat. I had the corn sorbet, and others had the watermelon sorbet. Can't wait to go back.

I really don't understand how is that in Merida where the income is quite low an waterbased 🍨,could cost almost 8 usd per scoop. whoever is familiar with a Concrete in the Midwest (USA) could have an idea of what to compare with. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place anymore. NOTE, is not about the price is more about the cost-beneffit os this product. Not worth it.

The place is well decorated and the service was also excellent. The entertainment was fine. I am glad that I tried it . I loved it I would totally recommend it. Great spot for authentic Mexican tacos. I went three times and the menu has good variety and excellent flavors. Reasonably priced at under 40 pesos per taco, cheaper depending on what you order. It is a no frills place, so do not expect fancy plates or cushions. The space is small but gives you an amazing authentic local experience. Service can be a bit slow at first and since it is a small place it gets packed in the evenings, so plan accordingly. Overall, definitely worth a visit for real local tacos.

Thank you for a wonderful experience! The woman assisting us was incredibly kind, warm, and patient. She kindly suggested some delicious options for our order and did an excellent job of preparing them. We decided to try horchata, guacamole, and vegan tacos: chaya kabax and guacamole con maiz. The tacos were served with two salsas, a mild and a spicy, and pickled red onion. After spending 2.5 weeks exploring the Yucatan peninsula, this handmade corn tortilla was my favorite I’ve ever had! We returned a few hours later for dinner, as it was our last night in Mexico and knew we had a great experience here.

We first tried to come here in the evening but there was a queue so we came back the next day for lunch. The food came out really quickly and the server was very patient with us! 🌮 I loved the horchata (milky cinnamon drink) and the portions were decent! I had the 3 I circled! €160 pesos per person with the drink in the end.

Great meal! We had the grilled onion (delicious!), a cochinita polcan and panucho, a lechon polcan, and a longaniza panucho and all were great. The horchata was nice and cool.

Went back 3 times. This place is hands down my favourite Taqueria in Merida. Everything is delicious. The filling is ample, and the tortillas are nice and thick. For the juicier tacos, a second tortilla would have been nice, but not necessary. Tortas are nice, but the bread needs a slightly heavier crust to stay in tact when it gets moist.

The best tacos in the city. If you want the tastiest taco, get the tacos Castakan for $22 pesos each! So yummy, you will not regret it and you will end up here every morning if you're not careful. The Yucatecos will tell you Sunday is for Cochinita Pibil but I personally favour the Tacos de Castakan con Queso and make sure you ask for limón.

Recommended by local friend, introduced as a best pork belly sandwich ever - and it was delicious 😃 liver taco, which I did not see before, also amazing. Comfort food, biggest hangover ever will be cured here in my opinion. On the top nice Che lime drink - definitely 5 stars.

Yucatan-style taco house with 30 years of tradition. Very popular with locals and always crowded. The price is reasonable compared to other places, and the menu is extensive. Ask the staff for menu recommendations and try them out. one of my favorite.

Amazing food and a feminist bookstore in one. If they have the Chile Relleno on special, get it. It's huge, packed with ingredients, and will ruin the tex mex dish you think is good. Very attentive service. They get by with English. The front is a bar, the back is a patio under a thick foliage. We had five dishes and all were top tier.

Fantastic, fresh, and authentic Mexican food in a lovely atmosphere with plenty of wall art. Had the enchiladas with pollo asada, the guacamole, and the flan. All were really really flavorful. Also ordered two different types of lemonade (don’t skip the lemonade!) and some mezcal drinks. It’s a bit of a walk from the center of town but absolutely worth it. The staff here is lovely also!

Wonderful & delicious restaurant in Mérida! The aguas frescas were refreshing & we appreciated the unique flavors they offered. The seafood tasted very fresh, we ordered the Pacifico which was a tasty guacamole and side of marinated shrimp, the aguachile was phenomenal. I tried the vegan chile enogada, it was also tasty. It’s a uniquely Mexican dish, I was recommended to try these chiles specifically in Mèrida. The outdoor patio is beautifully shaded & they provide bug spray for your comfort. No AC & mosquitos but that’s not a complaint, it just is what it is, sometimes you’ve just got to embrace the natural atmosphere of a place! Highly recommend for their fresh seafood, tasty food & enjoyable patio.

If you have not eaten their Chile en Nogada then you are missing out. This is the most flavorful that I’ve had in Mexico. I’ve tasted many, many in Puebla, CDMX Merida and elsewhere in Mexico and in pricey restaurants and this is by far the best.

Very stylish Japanese restaurant with a chilly atmosphere, relaxed music not too loud. Typical japanese food you might know from other places. Very good quality, combined with the atmosphere its a nice place to stay with friends or family. Very friendly staff and quick service.

When I lived in Merida I used to come here all the time. One of my favourite rolls being the Momoka Roll. Recently while visiting Mérida with my boyfriend we ordered the gyoza which was quite good. We also ordered ramen but it wasn’t great. However I know the restaurant has great food for the most part so I won’t lower the stars. The Ramen however is a very plain broth, they only give you slices of an egg rather than a full half egg, the egg was over cooked so there was no yoke to mix into the broth, and the meat as well was super over cooked and tough to chew. It looked like ramen but it didn’t taste of have the texture of ramen. It was a poor imitation.

It's difficult to find good sushi in Merida but this place is so much better than good. Still use cream cheese but the flavour combinations are so incredible that I can forgive it here. We ordered too much but refused to leave a single morsel of food behind. Also the restaurant is beautiful.

I always like to order delivery from this restaurant but I’ve never been to the establishment. It has a lovely scenery and the ambiance is great as well as the music which has an adequate sound level. The waiter was a bit slow but the restaurant was full so it is to be expected. We ordered agedashi tofu and a tuna toast as entrees. Main courses were kaori roll, tori don rice, salmon teriyaki, and moriawase. For desert we had azuki ice. Everything tasted really good. As someone who strongly enjoys sushi, I would say this is a very safe, delicious option to dine in, take out or get delivery. The prices are pretty basic for a sushi restaurant.

This is an excellent sushi place. Their seafood is fresh and the sushi rolls are very well made. It has a beautiful setting too. Service could improve, but it is not bad. If you like Yakameshi, it is also very good. Definitely skip the Teppanyaki, we asked for the beef one and were disappointed. it is nothing like we expected. Flavorless grilled beef with slices of grilled veggies on the side. Best to enjoy the sushi.

***Update: since moving to Merida we have been here regularly and the food & service is consistently excellent! Last night we had the Rokku sashimi & Tempura Ice for dessert - Wow! So happy to have this quality restaurant in our repertoire. Upscale dining that exceeded our expectations. Sit on the main level around the giant tree. We had excellent service and the sushi was fresh and presented well. The ramen was also enjoyable. Creative and varied menu was appreciated by our family!

Amazing place for Yucateca food. The woman in the kitchen is a true food hero, high quality cooking skills. Fast en very polite/good service from the waiters. It's a little bit out of the city center, but definitely worth going here. I would 100% sure come back to enjoy/explore other dishes and I will very well recommend this to all my friends!

10/10 - Try this place out. I will return every time I'm in Merida. Best meal I've had in Merida - and I've been in town for two weeks. The flavors were great, the service was great... I only wish I had visited sooner. Be certain to note the operating hours - opens early and closes early. I made a concerted effort to break away from work and enjoy a late lunch of the Wednesday special of Poc Chuc and a Sopa de Lima. The meat of the Poc Chuc was perfect to eat as it's own piece or as an addition to the tortillas that come with the special. The Lima soup was nice and even on a hot day I didn't feel overwhelmed with heat. Hands down the best I've experienced in Merida. Congrats to the wonderful owners and staff for creating a wonderful neighborhood destination for authentic Yucatan dishes. I hope this helps. Amazing fresh market with deep history. Step in here and visit the real Mexico.

You never know what you might discover buying local produce direct from the growers, or shoes made in Merida by local craftsmen. Take some time to wander about the market and learn about the different areas of concentration of types of things being sold. I found a great place to get my shoes repaired, knives sharpened, spice jars filled and lots of artisanal foods including cheese.

Always get everything need here. Love it, just crowded for Nov and Dec.

Love this market very much. It was busy and crowded, full of so many things that stimulate all the senses. So much stuff for sale, both new and used. Very inexpensive. Tons of cooked foods every where, especially in there large food court. Lots of locals shopping for their household needs and eating lunches. Very authentic. I wish I had more time to explore.

Amazing market for just about anything but the wonderful fresh produce is just wonderful! A must see if you are visiting Merida!

Came on a Sunday around 11am. Easy to find a parking spot right outside for free (not considering the tip for the gentleman). It was a bit overwhelming once the waiters began to yell very aggress for us to check out their menu and competing against each other. But it stopped as soon as I chose one of the many outstretched menus held out at us. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. We chose FRUTI-LUNCH. The menu had a great variety plus nice fresh drinks. We ordered the tacos cochinita, panuchos cochinita, empanadas con carne y queso and one tamal. To drink, we ordered one litre each of mango agua fresca and a mix of mango and pineapple aguafresca. Every order was good and tasty and we were satisfied (2 adults and 2 children) for a total of $505pesos. I thought that was pretty good! We had a few people approach us at our table while waiting for our food and we welcomed it as we actually were interested in the items. One was selling hammocks, another handmade pine fans and another handmade bracelets. They were a bit pushy but budged easily and quickly on the prices. We got a beautiful hammock ($650 pesos) and a fan that smells so nice and is very pretty($100pesos). Sorry about the half eaten food photos, we couldn’t help but dig in before I got some snaps in! That’s first part of our experience was great. The second was disappointing as we expected the place to be full of vendors but most were closed with only about five open. And the bathroom visit was not great either. We had to pay $5pesos pp to use the washroom and they give you a little bit of paper and there are no toilet seats. So once I used the paper for my young one to sit on, there wasn’t enough for her #2! But we figured it out with some leftover napkins in my bag. If I know that it gets busier on another day with all the vendors open, I would give it another try.

This market used to be one of my favorite spots — it had affordable prices, good food, and everything was always kept neat. Unfortunately, things have changed or at least I have seen decline since the beginning. The quality of the food is no longer the same, and it feels like the staff is too tired or overwhelmed to keep the place tidy. For a local market, the prices are now on the high side, which makes it hard to justify coming back as often as before. It’s disappointing to see the decline because it really used to be a great place.

Along most streets after 7:00 pm these energetic people pedal through if there is nice weather or not. The fresh goodies are worth running to the door for. The (pan) bread absolutely wonderful, soft, often oven warm and very economical. No need to go to the market and walk home in the heat. Not usually delivered on Sunday or Monday nights in some zones. When you catch the delivery person ask what nights are available. Once they know you are interested they will often slow and honk the hand operated bicycle horn louder. Please attempt to enjoy this home delivery service it is worth the effort. For 12 years we have enjoyed many of the delivery people in a multitude of housing locations throughout Merida. Enjoy.

Loved it here - authentic Yucatan food, the waiters really try to win you, the juices are delicious and the prices are fantastic. Much better food than some of the up-scaled restaurants that are close to pretentious rather than being authentic.

We arrived to merida and went there 1st day. BIG mistake. For a street market food is VERY EXPENSIVE!!! And barely decent. When u arrive you have all these guys hustling you to seat in their section/food court. For 2 aguas frescas and 2 meals we paid around 450 pesos! In our last day we went to La Chaya Maya, a few blocks from the market. La Chaya is a tipical yucateca food situated in an old hacienda downtown with the best...literally beat local food in merida, amazing service and well served portions (lots of cochinita in each taco) and girls what? Half (yes, 1/2) the price. Avoid the market, GO to la Chaya Maya if you want the best food, place, service and overall experience!

It is place, where you can get souvenirs and give a chance to loc gastronomy. You can find “panuchos”, “tamales”, “salbutes” and more delicatessens. Mérida is well known, actually the entire state of Yucatán, for its “Cochinita Pibil”, where this dish saw the light for first time, many years ago. Enjoy this must, eat and walk in to the shops.

We came to celebrate a friend's birthday. We ordered 4 plates and 4 cocktails. My wife took one bite of her meal and said it wasn't pleasing. We immediately notified the waitress and gave her back the entire plate with one bite missing. When the check came, we didn't understand why we needed to pay. I calmly and respectfully approached the manager and he began speaking loudly to me saying, " You ordered it, you have to pay!" I asked him to lower his voice as I was standing less than a foot away from him. He kept talking over me, telling me that my displeasure is subjective. It is subjective, because I am an individual and if you charge me full price for a meal I return that same meal to you, in full, it's insane to charge me full price. The waitress never offered to replace the meal nor ask if I wanted something else. Which is called good customer service. My friend also sent back his veggie burger after taking one bite. Word to the wise: eat before you go!!

The menu was missing the name of the food items, it only had descriptions. For example, the burger was just "beef meat with lettuce and cheddar cheese, with a side of fries". So a burger but without the name. Mentioned this to the waitress who took off and left without taking our order or asking for our drinks. Been here before and service was good, this time it was not. She came back with the manager and he had the same attitude of blowing off the issue. I didn't think it was a big issue, but their disimissive attitude was bad.

Really nice bar with live music in the evening & a lovely rooftop terrace. It reminded us in general of a pub :) prices are great, drinks are tasty and also the food (we only had hummus) was good. Every evening there is another band playing. If you come by before 7pm you will get a table.

We attended this establishment twice during our visit to Mérida, as it was recommended by friends who had traveled here, a local guide, and a local resident. The place offers great-priced drinks; the margaritas were brilliant, and there was a large selection of beers to choose from. Although we did not eat, many of the tables around us did. The olives served with the cocktails (not much at all) came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The atmosphere was delightful with live music, featuring jazz on the first night and blues on the second. The music was not too loud, allowing for conversation while still creating a great ambiance. The servers adopted a relatively relaxed and chill approach, which added to the laid-back vibe of the place. Thanks for two great evenings. We will definitely be recommending this spot to anyone visiting Mérida.

A great venue with lots of atmosphere to listen to some great music last night. The service was quick. Innovative cocktail menu. Tried the Billie Jean and the Nina Simone both interesting. Good range of beers.

Great place for drinks, tacos and burgers. Their garganzola pear and fig salad is delicious, chicken in it was perfectly cooked too. We got lucky to catch some contemporary vocal jazz, so it was just chilled atmosphere on Sunday early evening.

This is the best coffee shop. Not only do they make phenomenal coffee drinks, but their food and service are incredible. They have an extensive menu with a dozen ways you can have your coffee made (pour over, French press, etc.). The atmosphere and location add even more prestige to the place. It's definitely the best coffee shop I've been too.

Great coffee, reasonable prices. While mostly any coffee here is too light in taste (as everyone uses too much water), for me as a European there’s always something missing. The coffee they served was great in taste and enough for my needs. The staff there is nice and helpful as well.

Such a great place for breakfast! The dishes are original, but with a classic touch. Service is great and variety of coffee and soft drinks is very good. The chocolate pancakes are THE BEST we've ever had. We also ordered Marago mix, elefante sandwich, hummus and chilaquiles. Everything was great. It's a must to visit while in Merida if you want to have a great breakfast.

The mole one was great, the other 2 chicharon ones we had, green and red, were just okay, so a 4 makes sense. If you really want a good one, have the mole one

The workers were extremely rude and disrespectful. They ignored my requests, I had to say/shout “disculpe” about 10 times before I got a response. Food was also very dry. The gorditas are not freshly made and they crumbled. Also the bathroom was horrible.

Amazing. We ordered 6 gorditas between the two of us and we were super full. Every single one was tasty. We just picked 5 at random and ask the girl as the cashier for her recommendation for one of them. Food tasted great, super quick service, friendly staff, good price. Would definitely recommend.

Many tourist skip this place, Don't!!! Gooooo! Try EVERYTHING! The women there are amazing. Friendly and efficient! Okay they laughed at me explaining cochinita pibil is not chichèn itza pibil. But the horchata and jamaica water there is great. But greatest of all is how inexpensive the food is, and how filling, tasty and comforting. Sure its plastic chairs and painting is pealing. Dont go to expensive places to try what locals line up to get. Go eat it. Buy for takeway, and eat it in the park!

I came with a single mission to Parque Santiago. I needed my "fix" of Relleno Negro, a Yucatecan specialty. I was not disappointed. The flavor was spot on, the meatball was perfect and the broth was as black as the moonless night. Charred peppers never tasted so good.

Did I come here because of all the hype this place gets? Yes, but let me tell you it lives up to the hype. I ordered a Torta con lechón, it was fantastic! They bake their own bread, wood-fired just like the lechón so it's fresh and tasty and it's perfect with the pork. I also got a Cochinita Pibil Panucho and a Salbute de relleno negro. Both were amazing as well, however relleno negro was my favorite, it's such an unexpected taste, it's just great. Come to La Lupita, you won't be disappointed, it's worth the trip and the wait.

Get the pork roll - it’s heavenly and only $40 pesos. The chia de limon is also delicious!

They made vegan tacos upon request but since it’s a very traditional spot, all the rest of the dishes were meat + cheese heavy. Not many options for a vegan. Other than that, super authentic though.

Most unique and original experience for local fast food. The best option is to arrive early as it opens at 8 am but demand is so high you may not find all of their variety of dishes by 10 am. You may need to wait no longer than 15 minutes in the line as it is big but it's demand is over their available tables. Totally worth it!

It’s incredibly popular and if you don’t come first thing in the morning they may have sold out on some of the more popular items on the menu! Some of juiciest and most succulent meat I have had was here at Taqueria La Lupita - delicious food with generous servings of meat. For how busy it was, being realistic, I was happy with the level and friendliness of the service and the speed at which I was looked after.

An interesting place with good dishes, I tried the horchata latte for the first time here, although I found it too sweet and not too caffeinated, I thought it was interesting. The portions are a bit small for the price but they had a nice spread. Cute place, ok service.

Pancho Maiz is definitely one of my top three restaurants in Merida. They keep it authentic, the flavors make me happy, and the rustic ambiance provides a local feel. This place is a must & you can’t go wrong with any dish … go during breakfast & circle back for lunch!

My husband and I ate here at a whim. What a wonderful surprise! We absolutely loved everything about it. The staff was amazingly friendly and patient with our poor Spanish speaking. We tried four appetizers and every one of them left us wanting more, not because of the quantity, but because of the quality. We plan to visit them tomorrow for their breakfast! We highly suggest this place.

This place has been on my list for years, and I'm not sure why it took us so long to visit, but I'm glad we finally did! We walked from our house, arriving around 8:30 am, and the restaurant was about half full. We got a table right under a nice fan, which was perfect. The service was prompt—we were seated and given menus right away. We both ordered cold brew coffees, and for our meals, my wife chose the huevos rancheros while I went with a pork sandwich. Both dishes were excellent, but I have to say, my sandwich was out of this world! It bacon, ham, and an egg stuffed between sourdough bread with baked cheese on top. Probably a million calories, so I’m glad I was able to walk part of it off on the 40 minute walk home. The portions were generous (my wife couldn’t even finish hers), and nicely presented. The cold brew coffee was also excellent, and the service was professional and friendly, with English spoken if necessary. Considering the quality of the food, the prices were quite reasonable, totaling $490 before tip. Credit cards are accepted. Rating: 5/5 stars

Friendly service. I’ve eaten here 2 times. If I had known about it sooner I’d have been here more often. Deserts are tops. My meal was Huevos invalidates . Just the right amount where some other breakfasts can be too large amount for some. I’ll be back any time I am Mérida.

People are great, environment is safe (even though its it's right next to the red light district) One night around 2am after returning from Campeche on the bus we walked from the bus depot to downtown through here and had a snack as well.

Thank you for a lovely stay at Rosas y Xocolate. Our room was right next to the pool which felt like a real treat, as we could enjoy the peaceful atmosphere just off the bustle of the Main Street. Even though there were 3 of us in the room it felt like there was plenty of space, with a separate bedroom and lounge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and patient with me trying to practise my Spanish. We really enjoyed the complementary breakfast, including a hot drink, juice, pastry, and an option from the extensive menu. I would particularly recommend the smoked salmon bagel. The location was perfect, about a 20 minute walk to the main square but lots to see closer too. This was a perfect start to our trip across the peninsula and would recommend Rosas to anyone considering a trip to Merida.

This is a really charming hotel in a renovated mansion on a beautiful avenue. I stayed in the master suite - it was bright and airy, had massively high ceilings, was comfortable and spotless. (I did get an upgrade and for those of you with Bonvoy status, the staff did a great job of recognizing and valuing me throughout my weeklong stay. They were helpful, courteous and attentive) Crisiant, the Sales Manager, was particularly helpful. He contacted me promptly after my booking to assist with spa appointments and suggesting and arranging excursions. His assistance was valuable in planning my visit, as I had done little to no research before booking. The hotel's location is convenient for exploring the city. Paseo de Montejo is beautiful, offered a good base for walking to many city attractions and experiencing the local area. There are so many really good restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. It's a really great choice for a more than comfortable stay in Mérida.

I came for the food and dispute all of the less than 5 star reviews, I still went. I have to say the food was fantastic!! I got the Eggs Benedict and the chef did not disappoint!!! From the perfect hollandaise and poached egg to the mimosa...Fantastic!! The service was also top shelf. I was afraid to try the coffee because of all the bad reviewers who complained about the coffee, food and service but I'll definitely try it the next time I go back. If the coffee is the only thing that some people gave bad reviews, I'll skip it!

I've always had a rather ambivalent regard for the Pet Shop Boys. Whilst their tunes are undeniably catchy their lyrics often humorous and clever they are equally often let down by a rather laboured rhyme or a clichéd phrase. However, I've often found myself quoting the line from the song Left to My Own Devices that states "...learn to ignore what the photographer saw" and that's what you need to do at Rosas and Xocolate. Rarely has a website been so misleading. See photos. There certainly aren't any Roses and no Chocolate either 😕 😄 But let's start with the positives. The hotel staff are accommodating and polite (special mention for the breakfast server Sophie) with a comprehensive breakfast menu of decent quality and the location is very good. That's it. Now the reasons I wouldn't return. In general the hotel is unloved and poorly maintained. On arrival, the lobby had a large broken glass candle holder, the corridor had dirty glasses on the floor that remained untouched for over 24 hours and our room (the Master Suite) was tired and inadequately maintained. On arrival, the power shorted, the toilet leaked (this was fixed) the coffee maker didn't work (this too was fixed - but by turning off the refrigerator) and the bed linen faded and poor quality. The breakfast courtyard was dirty and unswept and the windows generally needed a good clean. The overall feel was one of decline and neglect which is unforgiveable in any establishment but given the prices being charged it almost amounts to theft. Read my other reviews; you'll see I'm not given to unnecessary criticism nor over reaction to a single incident of  bad service. There's another lyric from the Pet Shop Boys song Shopping that goes "...our gain is your loss, that's the price you pay". This might just sum up the Rosas and Xocolate experience. P.S. I'm honestly not a big Pet Shop Boys fan.

The portions were generous, the flavors bold and fresh, and every bite was a delight. Our server, Junior, was incredible—attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had a great experience. The highlight of the evening was the courtyard light show. Sitting under the stars, enjoying delicious food, and watching the mesmerizing display made for an incredibly unique and immersive dining experience. It felt like a blend of art, nature, and culture, creating an ambiance that was both elevated and welcoming. If you're visiting Mérida, Catrín is an absolute must-visit. With its incredible food, stunning atmosphere, and top-tier service, it's the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again!

The food was super good, we enjoyed what we ate. The music gives a nice atmosphere to the place. However, we were a bit disappointed by the waiter’s reaction after we paid: seemed our tip was insufficient to him and all of a sudden he became quite impolite. As students, we thought 5% would be enough? It was a pity to end this wonderful diner like that.

Unique atmosphere with painted mural walk including light show in an intimate courtyard. Food was great with generous portions. Michael our waiter did a great job meeting our needs especially since we do not speak Spanish. Highly recommend it for night out in Merida.

Went on a quiet Wednesday lunch. Staff was friendly but I found the food is quite mediocre. I craved rice and their hot ate seafood rice dish was delicious but need a bit more seasoning. Cocktail was awesome though recommended by the lovely waiter

The location and atmosphere is great. The service is poor. The waiters have a little idea of their labor. I believe that they just know serve plates and beverages. They do not offer supplemental dishes, don’t explain the menu, no suggestions at all! They serve “tortillas” in a single plate without napkins or cover at all. They hang around with other staff until you call their attention. The food presentation is good and plenty, but, no flavor at all! The price is fair!

It clearly states, Cafeteria Impala was established in 1958 and there’s good reason why it’s still a very popular restaurant in Merida. Don’t let the kitschy retro design discourage you from enjoying the excellent service and great food. Our waiter, Raymundo was terrific. He offered great suggestions and recommendations and was very attentive. We ordered natural fruit drinks, mango and watermelon and they were able to prepare without sugar and use mineral water. Their basket of fries were also plentiful and delicious. Order their tiramisu - it’s the best. Great restaurant, great food, great service and great value. Highly recommended.

Had a great time at the restaurant Impala. Had their Burger with Angus beef and chicken tenders. Food was clean and freshly made. Would highly recommend getting the natural mango juice. Our waiter Alexander offered great service and attention. Would recommend!.

I ordered a very nice hamburger, with fries. It was great, but even better, to my great surprise, was my margarita. One of the best I’ve tasted here in Merida; a perfect blend of sweet and tart, and not at all water down, as many are. Start with one of those, and everything else will fall in place just fine. So kudos to the bartender.And my waiter, Gilberto. Was also excellent.

I came in for a late lunch/early dinner. They were out of some items such as turkey and a chicken plate, but that was due to a very busy few days. I ordered the Cheeseburger Montejo with fries. To drink I had their green juice and a coca-lite. They have a lot of variety on the menu but the burger caught my eyes. The food was great, the service excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable.

We ordered the platillo with champiñones and did not have any mushrooms (Just a small pita-like bread with way too much ham). The food looked like we ordered it at a gas-station, and was quite expensive as well. Would not recommend it at all, only positive side about this place is the air conditioning.

Cafeteria Impala is perfect. Great attention and awesome food, just ate some huevos rancheros and it was delicious. Also, Hernan was always checking that everything went well. 100% recommended.

Good location in centro but food is a bit lacking. They have breakfast packages but I think you should pay a bit more for fresher quality. The juices are just all sugar and I would just stick to the coffee. The service is fast though so if you need a quick meal in the morning then come here.

Loved the place! Came there early and had full attention of amazing manager and waiters, who served me grasshoppers and had fun watching me eat them for the first time😜 I must admit it was super cool and the interior of the place and variety of drinks just charmed me. In general they made you feel very welcome.

It is a nice place. Service was regular. However, we went there because everyone told us it was a good place to dance salsa but at the time we started dancing we were told that it is not allowed to dance due to the pandemic, I really believe they should warn people about it before letting them in. I understand the current situation and that's why they should be clear with people since the beginning. There was live music but it was sad, to not be able to dance, we left the the place as soon as we finished our beer. Maybe later it will be a good place or if you don't plan to dance it might be a good place for you.

This is such a cozy spot! The inside is super comfy, with great WiFi and AC, perfect for getting some work done. I brought my laptop and felt right at home. The food was really good and made with all organic, natural ingredients, which I loved. Their coffee options are super unique, and they even have non-coffee drinks if that’s more your thing. The pastries were fresh and tasty, and the staff was super friendly. Definitely a new favorite spot!

This is one of the most westernised cafes you’ll find in Mérida. However the space is beautiful and the food is really good! Everyone working there is super helpful. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nice breakfast with toasts and oats! Nice selection of pastries too

Every time we’re in Mérida, we find ourselves at Pan y Coffee at least twice a week. Their pastries are unbeatable. The croissants are perfectly flaky, and the Pastéis de Belém (a larger version of the Portuguese classic Pastéis de Nata) is an absolute must try, truly to die for! Breakfast is just as good, from flavorful chilaquiles to a delicious American-style breakfast with bacon and sausage. Great coffee, friendly staff, and a cool, relaxed atmosphere make this place a standout. It belongs at the top of your list in Mérida for coffee, pastries, and brunch.

Not only is this cafe beautiful and intimate, but the food and coffee are out-of-this-world good. I’ve already gone multiple times on my trip to Mérida, and nothing has disappointed or fallen short. The staff is also very friendly and willing to assist. A must-visit while here!

Pan & Koffee is the coolest atmosphere with incredible food and the friendliest staff! I came in for the morning and after to do some remote work and get some food and cold drinks. The fresh squeezed guava juice was lovely on such a hot day. The breakfast sandwich had great flavors and was the perfect fuel I needed for my afternoon. And as someone who just wants to have a cool experience at places I visit, this checked all the boxes! The interior design creates the most beautiful, earthy atmosphere, the music is so fun to listen to while you work, and the space is HUGE, allowing you to experience the space from different perspectives. I highly recommend Pan & Koffee!

Staying a week in Merida visiting a friend for work and vacation. With my first time in Merida, Pan and Koffee Cafe has been a daily morning stop for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast pastries are amazing and always a good start to the day. Coffee has been perfect. For lunch the food, all the items I ordered had a great freshness to them. Service has been fast and timely. Would recommend anyone traveling to Merida to stop by and visit for multiple meals! I can't wait to come back to visit.

My partner and I ended up coming here on a Sunday after seeing it on google maps, this was after leaving another place because of terrible customer service we received. I’ll get to the point. We were greeted warmly and were seated quickly. I really appreciated that it was cool inside the restaurant, it’s an issue at other places. I ordered the huevos con chaya, a latte and a chaya con piña. My partner ordered the French toast, a latte and a chia lemonade. We both really enjoyed our meal’s throughly and would definitely come back. If laid back, home cook food and friendly service is your thing, come here now! Important things to note: the restaurant is cash only, and food is prepared fresh to order so sure, it might take some time. Be patient and you’ll be rewarded with simple but traditional flavors.

Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. I love the cappuccinos here, fresh juice, and made fresh horchata. Ordering the horchata or freshly squeezed juice is a MUST! They are only open from Friday to Sunday and close at 2pm so make sure to check this place out while it’s open during the week. P.s. they have a very cute cat but he’s traumatized from a past owner so be very gentle with him (he won’t bite or scratch just easily scared).

We went there first thing after checking in our hotel because of the specific opening hours. Prior to our Mérida stay we stumbled upon this Family-owned restaurant in a youtube video and the Food looked amazing! We tried the huevos motuleños and they were divine. We were fortunate enough to sit outside in the garden where we enjoyed our Food and the atmosphere of the surroundings. Having returned to Germany, we already attempted to make huevos motuleños at home. I‘m so glad we got to experience the food at Maiz, Canela y Cilantro!

This place is OUTSTANDING!!!! It looks like a little museum inside, the decoration is impecable. The food DELICIOUS!!! The service super friendly!! Recommended 1000%

We found this restaurant by the off chance id a quick Google search. And that turned out to be very pleasant, delicious and pleasing. We had the chicken soup, tacos dorados and chicken and mushrooms sandwich. All very wholesome and tasty with textures and blends of flavors that complemented each other. The atmosphere is comfortable, fresh and comfortable with wooden chairs and tables. Everything is prepared in a home looking kitchen wing which can be seen through glass and wood French doors. Service was fondly friendly and did not seem too slow, only take into consideration that each plate is hand prepared and homemade. Our seven year old son ate his entire plate which is saying something. The spicy salsa (watch the heat if you can’t take it) and the black beans with tortilla chips appetizer was a great touch.

Tired of overpriced and awful brunch places in Centro? This is the place you’ve been looking for. Fair prices! And service is very friendly! The taste? Uffff!! Give it a go! You won’t regret at all!

Owned and operated by a family that does all the serving, cooking, and operation. Really comfortable. Great home-cooked, authentic food. 'Discovered' by tourists, it was full of tourists when we went for breakfast, but still authentic! Really wonderful. There is a different family that takes over the space and cooks dinner, all food from Oaxaca, so we recommend returning for dinner :) EDIT: The drinks! We got 1 of each kind, and every single one was homemade, amazing flavour!

Was an unexpected experience. Little bit further from the city mayhem but worth walking. Vegan food was great, music nice and service perfect. Happy we tried this place. On a Monday evening it was very quiet and we enjoyed that.

Food is ok. I came looking forward since reviews were excellent. However, I did not find the food so delicious, it is okay. I have eaten better tacos. Also, the waitress was very pushy asking us what else we wanted it while i just want to eat quietly. Apparently, you need to feel obligated to give at least 10% tip. However, I did not find that the service deserved it 😤 but she came to chase us to the door. Definitely a bad experience and I would not recommend coming back at all!!

Wow! We really, really liked this place. We enjoyed this restaurant. Their food was very fresh and flavorful. Our tacos were very delicious. I recommend their octopus tacos and fried ice cream. The place is somewhat hidden.but the service and food will be something we will remember.

Industrial looking restaurant, good vibe. I went on a Sunday night so it was mostly empty but looks like they are used to be crowded. Had the chicken kimchi burger and it was amazing. They also have a great variety of beers and the prices are really fair compared to some other places closer to the center.

It was quite good . I had empanadas and a mezcal cocktail and both were delicious. The environment had an upbeat vibe with interesting music and a sort of warehouse decor. I would recommend it to those who like the unusual.

Whenever I visit Merida, I always makes sure to stop by here. Not only the food and drinks are great, but the place is absolutely gorgeous. There is 3 main areas where you can sit : the restaurant, the back patio and the mezzanine in the back, so depending on the weather and how you feel, you always can find the right vibe that you are feeling for. Definitely recommend! We were served by Zaid and it was great service!

When I left this place my final thought was, "WOW I think that's the best breakfast I've ever had." Seriously no exaggeration. I started to think about all the times I've had pancakes or French toast and this was amazing. Hats off to the chef.

Underwhelming and nothing special. We had the Chilaquiles. The tortillas chips are very small pieces and super greasy. The salsa is meh. The chicken was not seasoned at all and not hot. We also ordered the barbacoa tacos. The meat was tough and surprisingly bland even with two salsas. The sikil pak was okay but kinda dense (missing tomato) and very greasy chips as well. The service was good and fast and the atmosphere is very trendy but beautiful. Lovely courtyard and plants.

I thought this place was adorable and delicious! There were 9 of us and we all very much enjoyed our meals. I got the ceviche and it was absolutely incredible and so fresh. I also got the juice that was named the amanecer and it was quite refreshing.

Nice, cozy venue. The menu was varied. Had the seasonal fruit with shaved ice and granola, a latte (different milks to choose from), and the brioche with butter and homemade jam. Everything was very tasty. Nice ambience, friendly staff, and fast service. A really good place to have breakfast in Merida. It is located inside a modern mini plaza.

This place has a very lovely modernist vibe. It’s menu hits many diets on the head so whether or not you are vegan or want some ceviche this place has something for everyone. I went with the tigers milk ceviche which was so pretty I didn’t want to eat it. The fish was delicious and the coconut on top added some necessary texture and crunch to the soft fish. The best vegan option was the eggplant dish topped with seeds. The decor was really clean and I’d come back here just to have a drink and enjoy the view. As a plus this place is attached to an art gallery so after a nibble you can feel cultured as well!

La Reina de Montejo looks like a hole in the wall but the food it's very good and effordable. I had a Tamarindo Trolebus and a Cuban Sandwich. I was impressed. The staff here are friendly and service its better than many other places. I would stop here after a walk on El paseo de Montejo to refresh my self with any flavor Trolebus. (They also serve breakfasr here)...Enjoy 😋

No frills - casual, but good service from wait staff. Good food. Great fruit juice drinks. Prices are very good. Great place to relax in the evening with friends and family. Outdoor and indoor seating... No music; therefore holding a conversation is not difficult. Great location along the lovely Paso Montejo street.

According to my Mexican girlfriend, the food wasn’t good. It was actually bad. She does not recommend you come here. No real taste. Plain food. No lettuce, tomato. Pre-packaged tostados and tortillas. Tiny portions. Service was ok.

Worst tacos we have had in Mexico. Left a very funny aftertaste in my mouth so hopefully nothing bad happens when I get home. Won’t be going back. Not sure the taco meat is fresh since they don’t actually have the el pastor cooking up on the rotisserie - there was absolutely no flavour to it at all and if I was blindfolded I wouldn’t even know it was el pastor. The arrechera wasn’t much better but at least it had some taste to it.

Only had Jamaica, but staff was great and place was laid back and comfortable. Perfect spot to refresh on a super hot day.

You may say this market is dirty, but it was a great experience to be in the local market in Merida. I loved to see the chilli, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

This market lived up to my expectations, both high and low. There is a curious mix of things and food for sale. The things are colourful and cheap for the most part. Plastic stuff in every shape and colour. Plastic toys, costume jewellery and religious icons and ephemera. Electronics and parts. Clothing for literally cents on the dollar, but nothing I could wear. Size being the problem. I was more interested in the potential for prepared food and refreshments. My expectations were realized in terms of the plenty, however there was no way I was prepared to take a chance on some of these places. I'm not suggesting that the vendors were dirty or lacking in skill in the kitchen. Just a bit outside my comfort zone in terms of my notions of hygiene. Having said this, I did enjoy a few foods and suffered no I'll effects. My concerns were further belayed after a food tour through here the following day. Treat this place as a combination museum and fun house as a tourist. But keep in mind that it is a serious, integral part of community life here in Merida.

Mercado San Benito isn’t just a market—it’s an experience. It’s big, it’s bustling, and it’s got everything. Think of it as the Costco or Super Walmart of regional markets, attached to Mercado Lucas de Gálvez. Walk out of Galvez, and boom—you’re in Benito. This place is a maze of vendors selling fruit next to shoes, next to tacos, next to cell phones. Not a flea market (everything’s new), but it’s got that chaotic, treasure-hunt vibe. Feeling hungry? Don’t hesitate—food here is clean, delicious, and dirt cheap. Pro tip: The market is huge and organized by sections—candy with candy, shoes with shoes, butchers with butchers. It can feel overwhelming, but everyone’s polite, and the prices? Unreal. Must-tries: Cochinita pibil (slow-roasted pork heaven) and a Jamaica juice (refreshing hibiscus drink). you can visit every day and barely scratch the surface! I was fascinated by the people watching as for the food and offerings. I hope you enjoy!!

Huge, authentic market, almost only locals. Very cheap prices. You will find almost everything: Meat, vegetables, fruit, spices, shoes, clothes, hardware, animals... . Craftsmen repair phones, shoes and jewelry. Taco-Factories. Lots of places to eat cheap, local food. All the Hustle and Bustle a market needs!

A pleasant spot with good food, desserts, and drinks. It’s slightly pricier than others nearby, but the experience and service are worth it. Great for brunch, a date, or a quiet coffee. Shops and galleries with creative designs are also there.

Lovely place I love to have breakfast when I’m in Merida. I always thought their avocado toast is the best in town but I have to say that recently, I felt it went a bit downhill, probably for the low quality bread they use. The waitress are really nice. The place remains a good place to spend some time and to work from a computer. Expensive for what it delivers. The quality is average!

Well, Mérida is definitely hot and humid — but at Casa Tho, it was a nightmare. We went this morning for breakfast, and while the place itself is beautiful, the experience was very disappointing. We asked them to turn on the fans, but they said there was no electricity — quite odd for such a nice establishment. Service was terrible and breakfast was just okay. It took over an hour for our food to come out of the kitchen, and another 20 minutes just to get the check. Overall, I do not recommend this place. Beautiful setting, but the service and organization were unacceptable.

We've had two lunches here, and we've loved both. The first day we had the avocado an salmon toasts. The next day, I had the tuna tartare and my wife had the spicy ca rrot soup. Everything was excellent. It has a lovely quiet atmosphere, similar to old Singapore (the weather is so similar). The margarita was probably one of the best I've ever had.

You must stop by this place for a divine meal and artisanal shopping. We had some cute cocktails and bites including the arancini and the sandwich made with bacon , grilled pineapple, Gruyère. The stores include an art gallery a carla Fernandez store with amazing clothes and a number of other boutiques including a jewelry spot and some home furnishings

Gorgeous older building with precious courtyard turned into a collection of boutique shops and a restaurant. The shops feature high end designer clothes, products and art. Definitely an interesting stop as you’re exploring Paseo de Montejo.

4 stars out of 5 just because we waited 10 minutes before being served. We have a great time here. It was our last night in Merida and it was the best spot to wine down and relax after our trip. The staff is great and friendly. I would suggest seating in the outdoor area by the front door. Inside is a bit crowded and noisy.

Nice place, foods ok, no AC, and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They lack on staff n the ppl they have are reaaaally rude. The guy at the bar was nice at the beginning but after a while coming back to remember him our orders he got annoyed and pretended he didn’t speak English at all. Same with the waiters. Openly ignoring us, no shame. Three different ones kept on forgetting what we ordered and instead of apologizing they just pretended we never did. I’d never come back if they don’t make any changes.

Loved the vibe of Casa Chica. It felt kind of “fresa” but it wasn’t super expensive. We got pizza’s for $90 MXN and $130 MXN. Service was great and the pizza’s were delicious.

Attention!!! This place has changed a lot and not for good, been going since March 2021 and it’s getting more crowded since got famous and the venue it’s perfect for tourist, unfortunately services it’s extremely poor, waiters don’t care about service because they know the place gets busy, worst of all it’s their bad attitude. Food went from great to bad and poorly served, same with the drinks. So think twice if you care for service and quality, there are better options in the area.

Perfect for a relaxing afternoon apperitivo. They have a nice selection of apperitivs, the coffee is good. They offer a selection of plant milks for vegans (almond, soy). There is a great indoor space that gets you away from th traffic and noise of Montejo Boulevard.

Western styled cafe in Mérida. They serve good coffee from México. A lot of options for your beans and methods. When you are tired of Méxican styled coffee, this place will be your good refresher. They have changing spots and strong wife. Worth to visit.

A special place in the heart of Mérida. Very good coffee if you're on a quest and a wide choice for everyone. We also found good bakery stuff. And a nice vibe. Owned by two brothers, they buy the coffee beans directly from Mexican farmers, even small batches. They roast and prepare it with great results. My wife and I came back the day after. Very recommended.

Great little cafe, we had avacado toast and flat white - both were delicious though I found the addition of crisps a bit odd. The coffee was really smooth and might be the best we had in Merida. Staff were friendly too, overall really happy we came here.

The coffee and other drinks are freshly prepared and good in taste. While the atmosphere of quite calm, there is not too much space and depending on the time you come, getting a seat is hard. Kitschy little atmosphere, but the meat quality is severely lacking. Expect bones, gristle fat, and other unidentifiable parts. I have to say it's authentic.

The tacos cochinita pibil as well as the ones with lechon were very juicy and tasty, the price-performance-ratio good (110 pesos for 4 tacos and a coffee).

Excelent, great pork & cochinita tacos, the meat is tender that you can tear it out easily, the habanero & red onion sauces are tasty just be aware that habanero is spicy, we even order sandwich to take away as lunch for a read trip.

I googled best cochinita in Merida and this came up, had 3 tacos de lechón and 1 torta de cochinita, and they didn’t disappoint prob one of the best I ever had and service was beyond, I order a drink just to realize my sever went to a near store to buy it, they never said we don’t have that and instead went and bought it, also when arriving they suggested how to park close by

Good food, smaller plates and an absolutely fabulous patio with a fun vibe. The entire restaurant decor is amazing. Our guacamole came with jicama which was a wonderful tasty surprise ! We enjoy ourselves every time we go to Pancho's.

I visited this restaurant on my last night in Mérida and it was by far the best restaurant I went to during my visit. Walking in to Pancho's entrance you are greeted by a large room with many historical murals and glass cases with Mayan items inside. Through there you see the open bar with open seating to the right. There are very few negative things about my visit but I will go over them as I think it's important to see the negatives in an otherwise amazing experience. The first negative was how, despite there being a menu stand being set up we were not greeted by a host/hostess and instead had to awkwardly walk through the restaurant trying to find a waiter to ask if we needed to seat ourselves or be seated. However, once seated most everything is positive. The atmosphere is like eating within a jungle with an incredible assortment of plants, lights and tables surrounded by fauna and light bulbs strung from the ceiling. The restaurant seems to go on forever towards the back passing a second bar and into further seating giving it a very ethereal vibe. Our waiter spoke very good English and attended to us quickly, asking us for drink orders and getting them placed before us within 5 minutes. Another negative was us asking for magaritas with no salt and getting ones with salt, but our waiter had noticed this after grabbing them from the bar and had grabbed us straws before giving us the margaritas which was a very nice fix for a small problem. The food itself came a little late for my taste (pun intended) but man, oh man, was it worth the wait. I ordered the mole enchiladas and they were absolutely fantastic. The ingredients were fresh, full of flavor and mixed to perfection. Despite the plate being small to medium, it was very filling and I found myself full before even being finished with the last enchilada. The prices are fair, the margaritas are deliciously mixed and constantly flowing, and the food is fantastic. My last negative is the existence of a "trough" style men's restroom which I've only really seen at sports stadiums which is strange, but they were very clean. Overall, the atmosphere and ambience alone is a reason to visit Pancho's. Throw in the delicious food and margaritas and you have the best restaurant I visited during my visit to Mérida. 10/10

A restaurant in the centre of Merida the garden restaurant is beautiful. The service is friendly and helpful. The food is good and well presented. This is one of the more expensive places to eat.

Tacos were just ok and drinks are well overpriced. Nice backyard and good service though. Another thing to note is that they make tacos with fries on top, wasn't a big fan.

Its OK. But my expectations were much higher after reading all the reviews. There is many more better places to go in Merida.

A cool modern vibe with a lovely outdoor space offering a variety of breads, sweets, and coffee drinks. You can hang all day as they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are two attached shops. One features honey products and honey tastings at select times. The other is a beautiful home, clothing, jewelry, and hat shop.

Wonderful place. The back outdoor garden area is always beautiful. The food is excellent. Service great and such such a relaxed atmosphere. I go with girlfriends and talk for hours. Thank you Volta for consistently being fabulous.

Great chill vibe. Inside has A/C or interior courtyard seating is available. The Flat white was good, and chilled horchata espresso was amazing. They have wifi too!

A really nice café in the middle of the center of Merida. Great atmosphere, very tasty breakfast. I can particularly recommend the horchata with espresso to all coffee lovers. The service was very polite and, above all, quick when ordering. I'd love to come back!

Had a great breakfast at Volta Cafe. We had spicy pita, omelette, huevo burrito and chiliquiles with chicken. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Also really enjoyed the flat white coffee. Sat on patio and had very good service. Great spot for a nice breakfast.

Delicious food and drinks, reasonably priced, and great internet connection. This is probably one of the rare places where I spent more than six hours in a row, just cause the drinks, food, and internet have been in harmony. Everything I tried was super delicious, freshly prepared and great in taste while looking good as well. The waiters are nice and helpful too. Since it’s one of the only cafes that has open until 9, definitely give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Visited this place based on the previous reviews and definitely recommend this place! Our pizza was amazing and perfectly cooked! Sergio our waiter was very friendly and attentive! Same goes to the other staff too! Definitely must visit this place if you looking for a delicious pizza with great service.

Great pizza. We had a large (grande) pepperoni which was plenty big for two. Just the right amount of ingredients and all delicious. Service was quick and attentive, we didn't have to search for assistance, they were always nearby when we needed it. Corner location so great for people watching if you enjoy that, which we do. Most likely will be back soon because the menu had too many interesting and delicious sounding dishes for one or two trips.

This pizza is really good, in fact it's better than a lot of American pizza places! You won't find another pizza place with friendlier staff. The restaurant has a very nice relaxed atmosphere, with soccer on tv and great classic rock music playing. My family and I ordered the garlic bread appetizer, it was so delicious. It comes with four good size pieces of garlic bread with a tasty tomato sauce. And to drink, we ordered the fresh lemonade. It was a perfect thirst quencher for a hot day, and so tasty! Now the best part, the pizza... It was so good, the dough was cooked to perfection. The sauce and ingredients were so fresh and flavorful, they did not disappoint! During and after our meal we chatted with one of the owners, José was so nice and told us a about the restaurant and the plans they have for it in the future. The restaurant has lots of seating, including a very nice open air roof patio. They also deliver, so you can enjoy this amazing pizza from the comfort of your home or hotel. I will definitely be coming back!

Our absolute favourite pizza place in Merida, if not the world. We are lucky enough to own a vacation rental (Casa La Perlita) less than 5 minutes away so every time we visit we get to eat here as well (usually more than once per visit). The pizza is incredible, and the prices are reasonable. Very highly recommend ❤️

Truly a place to discover if you enjoy good pizza baked in a wood/gas oven. Quality ingredients and exquisite flavors. Our waiter David was absolutely charming and very efficient. Definitely a highly recommended restaurant.

The sauce! We have been to a few pizza places around Merida but this sauce is delicious. The overall flavor was fantastic. We had the Zoccola but with red sauce.

We highly recommend visiting this amazing pizza place while staying at Casa La Perlita, or in Merida MX. Best wood fired pizza in the city!! It’s a 5 minute walk from the house and we make a point of eating here every time we are in town. We have an autistic child who is obsessed with the pizza here, and they go the extra mile for her every time. Love the food and the staff ❤️

I am used to eat pizza in Italy and therefore my expectations are maybe higher. The pizza was not bad, however the salami on my one tasted old and not fresh. I had to remove it. Otherwise I would say it was very decent.

I can never miss a wood fired authentic Italian pizza even though I am visiting Mérida! Pizza and panini are fabulous, it’s a must try if you love Italian food!! Ancona pizza with handmade sausage, mushroom and cherry tomato. The crust is perfect, right softness inside while crispy outside. Very thin base and flavor is very rich. Panini with octopus is also amazingly delicious, full of tender octopus and olive oil smell. Waiter is very nice but overall the service is slow due to limited number of waiters.

We came for the pizza, not knowing it was going to be really delicious! We had pizza for the meat lovers, but not white, we have asked for tomato sauce and no onion. It was great, so was the service and the rock music, thank you, gracias miles 💕

In November 2022, friends took us to this restaurant. They said it makes some of the best breakfast foods in Mérida. I think the food at this location is very good and the price of the food was very affordable. They make fresh corn tortillas at the front of the restaurant. They are just as friendly as the servers. The service, price of food &! food are definitely worth 5 stars. Don’t forget to try their great selection of natural drinks. This is a must try restaurant if you are in Mérida for any amount of time.

Food and drink are great. If they have English menu, that would be even better. It’s not busy at breakfast time.

Really good food and it’s in the perfect spot of the city. Beautiful place to eat. Only thing it’s that it’s close Monday and Tuesday.

Great food and great prices (about 20-35 pesos). Definitely try their special house hot sauce if you like to heat it up.

The best cochinita pibil and lechón tacos in Merida. The pitaya water is really good. It's a must visit on your staying here.

My kids said the burgers were good, but my pulled pork had obviously gone off. It was rotten. Unfortunately it was take out, so I have no recourse. But everything else was good. Just not the rotten food

Outside the US sometimes you just crave Taco Bell and finally we found some hard shell tacos that were great. The chili fries and dog were good and the prices were reasonable given the portions. Service is nice but they are too busy and you have to flag them down.

Prices and food quality are good, used to be way better but the higher demand there's now makes it understandable. The only thing I didn't like is when I asked for ice for my beer and they took my glass away, as far as I know NOBODY should take your food/beverage away and bring the ice to your table instead. I'd definitely look for a different place and just come back if there's no other option.

The food is good but the service was abysmal. We actually saw a waiter just standing around while we were waiting for someone to take our order. it took five minutes to get his attention. Apparently his phone was far more interesting than doing his job.

This is a must! Every time someone ask me to recommend a place this is the first it pops to mind, the food is awesome, the place is nice, not too loud, and most of the tables are outside in the park. Prices are super affordable.

Nasty food, uneatable. Acidic lasagna?? 80% sauce on lasagna. Super hard pizza crust. It's Empty for a reason. The only good thing is the music. don't listen to the positive reviews.

Pizza was nice, but smaller than on the pictures.

Hardly any cheese at all. Ordered a Hawaiian, the ham they use is not what you would've expected, super thin and bland. Very disappointed. The couple eating at the next table took theirs to go after a few bites, just like me.

Tried the vegetarian pizza. Liked it! Loved the size of it. Large one is truly worth it.

Low cost, mediocre pizza. This place has potential. Good dough, and a hot brick oven. But despite good cooking, they're still using cheap sandwich meats and canned mushrooms...

Thin crust, handmade pizzas with a great taste. Paninos are also recommended, as is their lasagna, just make sure to sprinkle some pepper on the latter to compliment the flavor.

It's my go-to quick takeout on the way home from wherever. The tacos marinated pork, grilled on a a vertical spit, similar to Al pastor but different flavor. The tortilla is a flour flatbread, similar to a small pita bread. It includes garlic, chipotle, and habanero sauces. Tacos are $20/each. Good fast food.

Amazing food, with very large proportions for the price. Paid under $15 (with a $2 tip) for me and my girlfriend and we ate enough food for 3 people, plus a drink each. Both of us were stuffed, and that's saying something because I can eat a lot. The food quality is well beyond the basic decor and we couldn't care less. After 7 weeks in Mexico this was my favorite food so far. Going out of my way to go back. Staff was friendly with good service. Don't miss this place. I recommend the camellos.

I highly recommend the pechuga (chicken breast) tacos, they were the perfect combo of tender meat and good seasoning. Different tacos in that the traditional tortilla is replaced with a shwarma type pita bread and sauces are cream based (they also have traditional salsas). Very unique and affordable.

Absolutely loved it. Price is affordable, service is excellent, and food is delicious. Waiter are very kind, everything tastes authentically Arab. Venue is decent, but everything else is perfect. The dressings are outstanding. 100000% recommended

I order at least once a month Arabian meat nachos because the meat in this place is very well cooked and perfectly seasoned, but this last time I ordered from Rappi my nachos were served poorly, few meat, few toasts and few beans, also, they look like leftovers.

Small place, has great nachos. Camellos are kinda like burritos. The Arabic meat twist makes all choices great choices. Pretty good spot known to the locals.

Excellent place to eat or just have a coffee. Very nice atmosphere. From the outside you wouldn’t think how nice and pleasant it is inside. The menu provided a nice variety tasty looking options. Our waitress, Erika offered some of their recommended specialties which we appreciated. We went for breakfast and we were very happy with the presentation, quality and taste. We ordered a pitcher of Chaya with pineapple and it was refreshing. We saw a lot of non-locals arriving as well - speaks volumes of the restaurants word-of-mouth reputation. We’re visiting Merida from Los Angeles and were told we had to try LA 70 and we’re glad we did! Highly recommend for the value, service, hospitality and great food.

Don't be fooled by the looks of the entrance...the patio area is nice and comfortable. The service is excellent. They have a wide variety of food and drinks. I ordered lunch from here almost everyday during my visit to Merida - to dine in and to carry out. The prices are reasonable. Wi-Fi is reliable. The only minor recommendation would be for them to offer fresh coffee (they only have the pod coffee made in a machine). All and all, I highly recommend this place.

What a marvelous surprise! We stopped to eat only because it was across the street from the hardware store we were going to. I sm so happy we stopped! Drinks were cold, food was great...i will be returning. The chaya with pineapple is so refreshing! The sopa de verduras could have used a bit of salt, but it was really nice. The pollo pibil was succulent and perfect for lunch.

food took forever and the quality of food was very poor. we ended up taking food to go due to the fact that it took a long time. when we got it, i took one bite of my dish and threw the entire thing out. didn't taste fresh nor was it high quality. think they have a turnover issue. staff was friendly but couldn't make up for speed of food or quality. would not recommend d.

We went for breakfast and it was pretty good. The wide courtyard in the property sandwiched between a house and the restaurant storefront had been turned into terrace seatings with each table underneath a giant parasol. Murals were around as well, making it for a very nice atmosphere to start the day. This would make for a good place to spend the morning while waiting for an ADO bus, whose terminal is just one block away. This was exactly what we did. The food wasn’t as plentiful in volume, given the price, but the quality made up for it.

Decent food and coffee, but the service was lacking. A bit of a wait to take our orders and then again to bring the food/drinks (drinks were given to the wrong persons). Not sure what the "commission" charge was when we paid the bill, most places in Merida includes taxes. Overall we enjoyed the food, but one visit was enough, no need to return.

We came here for breakfast, the food was very tasty and decent portion size. We also had a tropical fresh juice which was delicious and very refreshing. The staff were also friendly and attentive.
