The 50 best cheap eats in Manaus

Price is right for good local cuisine. Regular happy hour and ice cold beer. Literally, it’s a beer slushy as is the beer in Manaus. The place seemed to have regular live events/music as my group went 2 or 3 times during our stay. Our favorite dish was easily the 2 person tambaqui. It should go with out saying but if you don’t like river/lake fish you’re not going to like this local delicacy. The gentleman I was with got some sort of pasta and seemed to like it. This was easily the best casual restaurant on the square. The drinks were a bit sugary but strong for what you pay. It wasn’t always easy to get a waiters attention but it may have just been us having typical foreigner problems.

If I could give 10 stars I would. A lot of friends asked me to come here and no regrets. The entries, and the main fish was something to die for ! Not to mention the service which was top notch! Try to sit inside as outside it’s pretty humid ( if you can bear it) really recommend this place!

Good selection of local specialities and good entertainment (dance and music). The food was good although the service was lacking (had to constantly grab their attention and they forgot things from of our order). The prices are at premium for the location but worth it.

This place is good for cold beer. It sucks that management allowed Bohemia to limit the beer options. No more Eisenbahn or Stella Artois. High employee turnover affects food quality and service. It's too hot to sit inside and air circulation is limited, better to sit outside. There are plenty of food options in the surrounding areas and from the wandering street vendors so there is no reason to eat the substandard bar food here. My experience at this bar was extremely disappointing. Despite there being only 4 guests, including my party of two, we were completely ignored by the staff (around 5 people!) We sat down by ourselves, after the staff walked by several times without greeting or seating us. It took a whopping 15 minutes just to receive a menu, and even then, it was only after another waitress pointed us out. After waiting an additional 10 minutes without any service, we were forced to leave without even being acknowledged. During this time, we noticed that the outside area got a little busy and all patrons there got served promptly. The lack of attention and care from the staff made our evening unpleasant and frustrating. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment if you expect even basic levels of customer service.

I went here twice during my stay in Manaus, both times were great. You can either order à la carte, I recommend the heart of palm stroganoff, or you can pick from a buffet table.
