The 25 best cheap eats in Praia da Pipa

Ahh, Tapas. Often cited as Pipa’s best restaurant. That is not my opinion. I think it deserves second place, tied with Aprecie. Here’s why. The food is definitely quite good. If you’re a first-timer, my advice is to go with the waiter’s recommendations. My boyfriend and I tried the vietnamese rolls, the famous sesame-crusted tuna, the also famous wasabi sweet potatoes, the ceviche and the marinated vegetables. The last two were less flavorful than the rest. For dessert, we had the brownie. Calling out to my chocolate lovers : this one’s an absolute hit! Now, where we took issue with the restaurant, and the reason we will not go back, is the unbelievably rushed experience we had. We went on a Friday night at 6:30pm. We were gone an hour later, and there was already a short queue outside. The tapas come out the minute you order them, with no breaks in between. Immediately after paying the bill, I was finishing my glass of water when a busgirl came to wipe the table. We were STILL sitting down. As soon as she left, a waiter came up to us to make sure we were leaving. It was so unprofessional. Worthy of a fast-food chain - certainly not a fancy, gastronomical restaurant where two people spent close to R$300. I think going on a weekday would offer a much better experience.

Some of the best food I’ve had in Pipa. The veggie massaman curry was wonderful, with a nice pineapple fried rice and salad. A great selection of good wines. I will say the portions were pretty small!! So if you’re super hungry order more. (Not small enough to be called tapas lol) the wait staff were really helpful and friendly, and the restaurant have a nice atmosphere

Food was good, service as well. Overall we enjoyed the meal. Tuna fillet was really good. Ceviche was amazing. We order both deserts, I liked them much, however it might not be for everyone. The brownie is really dark chocolate. The salad with the Brie and red sauce wasn’t in our favor, we would skip it. We also ordered masamman curry, chicken with bacon and tomato salad, they were all good.

This restaurant is just DELICIOUS. I can only recommend the sesame tuna and the salad that comes with it is also super good which is rare. The garlic shrimps and the potato purée are also delicious. Anyway, this is one of the best option for diner in Pipa.

Iconic place in Pipa, they have been the first ones to serve tuna in crispy sesame seeds, a dish that has been since then widely copied by other restaurants in Pipa. Food is ok, prices are hight. Service was professional, atmosphere is a bit sophisticated, yet comfortable. There is something about a slight arrogance or hypocrisy in the way the staff treat you... like they know they are a trendy restaurant that gets full almost every nights, anyways.

Everybody recommended Tapas to us. So our expectations were high. And the food was delicious indeed. The tuna was great, the aioli potatoes as well. The lamb balls (not on the pictures) tasted a bit much like lamp (if you know what I mean), but I guess that’s what you can expect when you order them.

The best pineapple and lime caipirinha in town! Ask for it without sugar and it will be just as amazing. Food is also great. I would definitely go for sweet potatoes with wasabi aioli and the shrimps with honey and ginger. Service is also top notch: nice and friendly people. Place is located in the heart of downtown. I would definitely recommend it!

The food was not great.. and the menu is outdated on here prices have definitely gone up. The menu on Google maps at the time I visited and the price I was charged for dishes was not the same. The atmosphere is nice and the service was good. I will clarify the sauce was a specific question to the waiter asking if a specific ingredient I’m intolerant was present, got told no and then when I received and tried the sauce I realised said ingredient was present. I was lucky I tried it before I poured it on top of my food. Proper information is important.

The two of us came here for dinner on Sunday night looking to try some local Brazilian food and was really impressed. We both had alcoholic drinks and a main dish each and it was a really pleasant dining experience.

This place is not to be missed! The food was absolutely delicious, but the best part of our experience was the staff. They were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us; although there weren't many vegan options on the menu, they made us a special escondidinho without cheese or cream. We also had the best vegan coxinha I've ever tasted, made with carne de caju and served with an incredible sauce. The location is also great, with big windows overlooking Pipa's main street.

Second time visiting this restaurant in two days and it’s probably not the last one, I feel like trying all the items on the menu, I highly recommend the Escondidinho De Camarao and their Caipifruta of passion fruit with lemon is amazing the best I’ve ever had! The staff are super friendly and professional! It is a must-go restaurant!

Very yummy. I had the cup with salted peanut, cinnamon/canela and pistaccio. Three balls are usually 26 reais, but pistaccio is extra so the three balls of icecream came to 31 reais. All very nice and will go back again

Don't waste time with any other ice cream parlours, this is the only one that has fresh and good quality ice- cream. The service is super sweet and attentive (not common in Pipa) and the selection of ingredients is overwhelming! AM-A-ZING. The BAUNILHA (Vanilla) is the real stuff!

The best of the best ice cream in pipa! Since I tried it I'm not interested to eat ice cream if it's from another place. I love their light option, really thought to be healthier (for example they use stevia and not artificial sweeteners). Pistacho flavour is just heaven.

The food was nice but not perfect. My boyfriend’s dish had too many flavours in it (pesto, two different additional sauces). The two desserts we had were really delicious (Brownie and Creme Brûlée).

We left before eating for several reasons. They had no mangos or coconut water despite both being on the menu. The pool was under maintenance and the waiter refused to give us (2 couples) separate bills. The place is run down. Don’t believe he photos. More expensive than other nearby places. Never again.

We stumbled upon this place as we were passing through. Boy, we enjoyed this place a lot! You won’t find a better chilled-out beach club types in Pipa. The view (during High-tide and Sunset) is fantastic! Make sure to find a table by the beach. The staff are friendly and super nice. The server named Icarlo was just precious! He spoke English and very attentive and friendly. The drinks were good (we’re tourist so we only drank Caipirinha). Food was delicious (fried shrimp, beef platter with fried potatoes was tender and juicy). The place a a good vibe as you can just be lazy and enjoy the view with good music. When you get hot, just jump into the water for a quick dip and come back in for fresh shower to start another round of Caipirinha! Who we are: married couple from NYC (Korean-American and French).

This is a romantic restaurant situated just off the main tourist street in Pipa Beach that has a large selection of appetizers, main courses and beverages including several vegetarian options. Our group had both meat and vegetarian dishes and all were delicious.The service staff was courteous and helpful. Our food was served promptly and the portions were generous. Very good and balanced ceviche. The empabadas were good apertisers (especially for kids). We also had the prawn pasta bolognese which was great prepared/cooked (prawns perfect cooked). The plantain banana gnocchi with prawns was also great! Recommend it!

We’ve been dining at restaurants in the town of Pipa for over 20 years and have never had a single bad experience—until now. Unfortunately, Macoco marked a turning point that tarnished the town’s culinary reputation for us. My wife and I ordered two dishes, and both were disappointing. One was supposed to be a black pepper-crusted tuna, and the other, a plantain gnocchi. The tuna tasted old and bland, served with an overly sweet carrot purée. The gnocchi was watery, as if it had been frozen and poorly reheated, and the shrimp was completely unseasoned. We voiced our concerns, but the owner brushed it off as a matter of personal taste and simply wished us good luck. We paid the bill and headed to another restaurant—one that turned out to be both better and more affordable.

The new address is set in a quieter part of Pipa with more tables to greet but the decoration isn't as authentic as the last place. The food is marvellous in simplicity with an extensive menu! Always a pleasure to meet the owner and enjoy quiet, classical music!

At first look you might be surprised to find this place listed in most peoples top 10 restaurants in Pipa, but don't be discouraged! The Spanish owner has spent many years in Brazil and during this time he has mastered the combination of local ingredients which most approximate those from the Mediterranean. They took 1.15 hrs to bring my food and 30 minutes more to bring my grilfriend's food. The place was almost empty and we did not order anything complex to make (veggies rice and grilled fish). If you have 3 hours to spare on lunch go for it, right next to the sea… otherwise it is a waste of time (not cheap either).

Very nice welcome by the owners and situated in a quiet part of Pipa. Fresh pasta and home made bread brings quality to the mouth however the portions were very small, mine even being less than my husbands, for some reason. The tiramisu desert was nice but the cacau powder was a little poor in quality.
