Pelican Kipos cafe and wine restaurant in Santorini offers a serene setting with palm trees, vibrant flowers, and delightful pergolas. The establishment has created a tranquil oasis where visitors can relax and enjoy coffee, refreshing drinks, or delicious meals at any time of the day. Nestled beneath their lush garden is a historic cave that dates back 400 years and has been converted into an esteemed wine cellar boasting an impressive collection of over 480 wines.
Great variety of food and every plate we ordered was delicious!! They serve watermelon at the end of your meal and it’s just what you need to end a great lunch. Atmosphere is so beautiful and in a prime area. 10/10!

We hosted our wedding reception for 27 guests at Pelican Kipos in September 2024. Our vision was for the evening to feel like an intimate family dinner and Pelican went far beyond that. It became the true highlight of our wedding and something we will remember for the rest of our lives. We began planning a year in advance with the incredible support of Eleftheria, who managed every detail with care and precision. When we visited the restaurant the day before, we were stunned by its beauty, originality, and charm. Exploring the underground wine caves was an unforgettable surprise that added even more magic to the experience. On the night of our reception, the wonderful sommelier Maria embraced us like family. Having lost my parents a few years ago, I hadn’t realized how much I needed that warmth in this day; she touched not only me, but every one of our guests, all on her day off. Her presence was a gift we’ll never forget. The entire staff went above and beyond, adding thoughtful touches throughout the evening—even making our cake cutting a special moment we’ll always treasure. While our ceremony took place at Rocabella (with photography by Phosart), we chose to hold our reception at Pelican Kipos, and it was the best decision we could have made. Rocabella felt formal and rigid, while Pelican Kipos was alive with warmth, beauty, and soul. Meeting the restaurant owner and hearing the story of the garden’s creation was the perfect finishing touch. Pelican Kipos is a true paradise, and we cannot recommend it highly enough for an intimate and unforgettable celebration. We’re already dreaming of the day we return.

Outstanding service, amazing environment and excellent food! Also, very reasonable prices. The location might seem a bit off, but despite the absence of an ocean view, Pelican Kipos really surprised us in every way possible. Service was impeccable from beginning to end, and the attention to detail by the staff was incredible. From immediately fixing our wobbly table the moment we sat down to quickly taking our order and coming back to make sure everything was fine. It was noticeable the staff is well trained to provide a great experience. We ordered from the breakfast menu and the food was delicious. Fresh, tasty and a good sized portion. Lastly, the environment is very calm and relaxing, as the tables are distributed unders some trees and there are a lot of plants everywhere, offering plenty of shade and fresh air. There was even a bit of live music when we visited, with a musician playing the keyboard. Highly recommend Pelican Kipos. If you're in Santorini, make it a point to stop here and you won't be disappointed.
Gustavo P — Google review
The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. However, despite being seated indoors, there was quite a bit of dust or fine particles on the table — possibly due to the strong wind that day. It would be great if this could be improved for a more comfortable dining experience. Otherwise, everything else was enjoyable.

While exploring Santorini with my wife, ( actually trying to get away from the Tourists, people like us ) we found this amazing looking restaurant, Pelican Kipos. The look of the restaurant from the outside alone is enough to draw you in. Absolutely stunning curb appeal. We were kind of done with the sun and although the outside patio is stunning, we asked to be seated inside which was perfect for us. The interior is just as stunning !! We just wanted a light lunch and of course a glass of wine. My wife had the Greek salad and I ordered the fruit salad with honey and a glass of wine. I can’t say enough about the Greek honey, simply amazing. The flavour just pops. All the staff was so friendly and accommodating to a couple of weary travellers. And the food and the wine was perfect. Just when we thought we were done, they brought us a complementary desert, 2 perfectly sized Greek yogurts with honey and to say they were amazing would be an understatement!! Wonderful location and a great atmosphere. If you’re ever in Santorini, don’t let this little gem slip under your radar. Paul and Andrea Canada 🇨🇦

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Pelican Kipos (Santorini, Greece) Pelican Kipos was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is charming, the food and wine are excellent, and the service is warm and personal. We were treated to a wonderful wine cellar tour with Maria, who was so knowledgeable and passionate about Santorini wines. A true highlight of our trip and a must-visit when in Fira!
Christopher G — Google review
Very good carbonara, in opinion of my daughter best ever. Choice of vine is excellent . Also had a fresh grouper , amazing experience. We came in group of 7 and all of us was amaised with this great food. I hope to come here next year
Andrzej P — Google review
Pelican Kipos was of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Greece. Firstly, the setting is just perfect with many seating/dining options and environments (courtyard, inside, part cover), in a surprisingly peaceful spot right in the heart of Santorini. Maria is one of the nicest hosts you could wish for and all the staff were just so passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky enough to have a personal tour of the underground wine cellar with the incredible Maria to choose a bottle to have with dinner. A truly unique cellar, 11 metres underground in naturally formed volcanic caves housing one of the best global wine collections of any restaurant. We also got to sample some tastings of local wines and wonderful muscats. The food was expertly cooked and presented - fresh, local, authentic cuisine. Absolute heaven and simply couldn’t ask for more. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I had such a wonderful time at V Lounge! The view is absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset – one of the best spots to enjoy the caldera. The cocktails were delicious and well-prepared, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, making it perfect for both couples and friends. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Santorini!

Unbelievable views. Great service. Delicious cocktails and food. We came here for lunch and booked the front row for cocktails and dinner the following night (€90 min spend). Worth it all. Would recommend.

Absolute gem of a spot! The cocktails were spot on—perfectly mixed and full of flavour. I had the Jaffa Orange Espresso Martini and wow… it was divine. Highly recommend if you’re after something with a little twist. The atmosphere was truly lovely—relaxed yet vibrant—and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. And the sunset view? Honestly, speechless. One of those moments you just want to bottle up and keep forever. A must-visit for drinks with a view.

Passed by today while walking with my wife in Fira and saw the stairs leading up to a tarrace. Beautiful views, great drinks and the staff was very accommodating and talkative. Especially Maria and of course the other waiter. Great overall experience. We recommend for a nice quiet drink and bite.

An amazing place to spend time and have a drink and a nice coffee. The views are amazing. We will have another drink and coffee here soon hopefully

I tried to visit these guys recently, I say tried to as the server was rude, and since they were apparently ‘really busy,’ we could not be served. Just the thing is, they were not busy, only two other tables were occupied. Apparently couples are not welcome in ‘busy times.’ Views were great though.

Svoronos Bakery is a popular spot on the island, known for its delicious pastries and coffee. Visitors rave about the Freddo cappuccino with its tight foam and affordable price. The baklava is described as syrupy with numerous layers, while the cream-filled pastry cone is a must-try. The bakery offers a wide selection of treats, including huge croissants and dream-worthy chocolate croissants.
Amazing spanakopita and everything else! It’s Open 24 hours, so I went here at all hours to buy water bottles since the local water isn’t potable. Beautiful variety of desserts!

Incredible sweet pastries and savory spinach pie treats. We enjoyed the honey and nut pastries/baklava and spinach pie. Best of all they are open 24 hours 7 days a week.to satisfy your cravings any time of the day. Stop by and see the friendly staff who treat you as sweet as their pastries.

Svoronos Bakery is a wonderful spot with a wide variety of delicious food, each with its own Delicious Variety and Friendly Service 🥐☕ unique taste. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for tasty treats in a warm atmosphere!
Manoj P — Google review
We found Svoronos Bakery while waiting for our morning transfer near the upper cable car station in Fira — and what a great discovery! The air is filled with the smell of fresh pastries and coffee, and everything in the case looks too good to choose just one. We tried the ham and feta pie, several types of croissants (including one filled with Philadelphia cream cheese), and — because you can’t pass it up in Greece — finished breakfast with baklava and coffee. Every bite was fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. Even though it’s in a busy tourist area, Svoronos still feels local. The staff were friendly and quick, and it was a perfect place to sit outside, enjoy the view, and watch the morning energy of Fira. Whether you’re heading out on a tour or just exploring town, this is a perfect breakfast stop.
Courtney F — Google review
Been there almost everyday for morning or afternoon coffee and food. Very nice atmosphere with ample of choices of food and drinks. Personally love their different types of croissant and pastry, their sandwiches are so filling and fresh. Cakes are beautiful but not sweetened. Coffee is great. Highly recommended.

amazing place to get pastries, anytime of the day or night! all of the pistachio baklava options were incredible, i wish i could take a suitcase of them home with me
Krista N — Google review
We took several pastries from this bakery and everything was utterly delicious. We had 4 types of baklava, the chocolate cake and the spinach feta pie. I am quite picky when it comes to food and sweets especially. This was one of the better places I've been to on the 4 islands we visited in the past weeks. Especially with baklava, there are immens quality and taste differences. This bakery could totally convince me. The price point is very fair for what you get and the ladies were also super friendly. It's too bad we are leaving today, I would have loved to try more!

Stopped by this cafe to unwind and enjoy the Morocco vs Spain World Cup game before heading back to Oia. The drink was good. My girlfriend had the espresso. The hookah was excellent, well prepared, and made with care. We sat outdoors and ample heating was available during our entire time there. The ambiance of the outdoor area is very pleasant and inviting.
Aninda Z — Google review
Had a breakfast there. Amazing services. The pancakes, called Cretan Nest is an absolute banger. The cheese, while not complete melting, complements with the battery pancake and the savoury mushrooms and bacon. The egg and mayo on top sealed the deal for me. Every bite I took I just craved for more. Also ordered an cup Autumn Sonata (tea) there. The hidden hazelnut flavour blew me away. It cleared my palette for another fresh bite of the pancakes. Have not tried their bar and night food though it is safe to say that they are the best at breakfast in Santorini with no exaggeration, not to mention that the price was just the right amount with only 15 euros max for each person. P.S. My friend ordered an omelette and was also a banger. They also have chess sets and board games to chill an entire morning. The entire set up and environment, which is being outdoors also made it a very sweet and cozy area!

Little hidden gem, cause apple maps won't show this Cafe! We went here on the way to a luggage drop point, ended up taking in our luggage and stopping in for several hours before our flight. It was soooo nice to hang out here! George was serving us the whole time and we cherish his dry humor!!! Nestled in the enchanting city of Fira, Santorini, Irini's Cafe stands as a beloved traditional kafeneion that embodies the island's rich culture and history. Housed within a charming old Cycladic building that also serves as a small grocery store, this cafe offers an inviting atmosphere with its quaint seating arrangements both inside and outside under the shade of fig trees.
We found this cafe while trying to get away from the main crowds, and it was a fantastic find. The reason to come here is the view – it's absolutely spectacular and feels much more peaceful than other spots. I had a café frappe and it was very well made. It's a simple, no-fuss place where the main attraction is the location, and it's completely worth it. Lately, I've been using the Mindful Coffee app to turn my coffee breaks into more of a mindful moment, and I honestly can't imagine a better setting for it than this. It felt great to just sit for a while and look out over the caldera without being rushed. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a relaxed break with one of the best views on the island.

We were returning back by the narrow hillside lane after seeing 3-bell church. It was becoming dark. About 9 pm. So we decided to have dinner in a roadside cafe. We chose this one. The position of this cafe was really beautiful. It was small and a few tables were here and there. It was made in a narrow space of the hill. But in front of us, the lights in the houses of Santorini were looking beautiful. The breeze was cool. We took coffee and tea at first. Then we ordered chicken gyros, chicken fillet, salads, pizza. The food was good. We enjoyed our meals.

Spectacular view, delicious food and wonderful service. This place has it all. The tzatziki is amazing. Our server, Iliana was delightful. The view is like a slice of paradise. Highly recommended.

One of my fav places during my stay in Santorini. A few blocks away from the main area (still in the center of everything), a beautiful restaurant we discover by walking around. The view is perfect, you can sit and have a panoramic view of Fira. We stopped by for a coffee and yogurts in the afternoon. Another day we went for dinner. Chill and peaceful, you can have a delicious dinner away from the crowds in an intimate and romantic setting. Iliana welcomed us from the very first moment, very friendly and helpful. We spend around 90€, 2 people.

Can’t beat this view.. you’ll get the best sunset in the world and feel the ethereal feeling that you’re somewhere out-of-the-blue quite literally. Our host Iliana was a joy, service was so genuine, quick, homely, and natural - as compared to the other restaurants who were a lot more touristy/marketed. This place feels more grounded. They’ve got their food as a testament — everything we ordered was great. Iliana just made it better as our host :) Don’t hesitate. Irini will blow your mind. In October come at 6pm where the sky is gold, and it’ll change hues all the way till 730pm like a slow-mo disco light ;) Edited — included pics from our second meal at Irini’s on our final night. Mindblowing :) THANK YOU ILIANA AND IRINI’s :))

By far the best view in Santorini, breathtaking cocktails and EXTREMELY NICE staff. We are now going for the second time in our trip. There is always space for everyone and the front tables have a minimum spend of 30€ for the whole table….basically nothing. They made our trip so special we are going there on our last night in Santorini

INCREDIBLE sunset views!!! The entrance is a little bit hard to find but the result was that you get front seat sunset view without people crowding your space. The cocktails are decent. A bit pricey due to the view but so does every other front line bars.

We had a fantastic meals here as a family of four. The food is fabulous, and I especially recommend the moussaka—it’s easily the best I’ve had in Fira, and probably in all of Santorini! The restaurant has a modern atmosphere and feels very welcoming. Compared to many other places in Santorini, the food is reasonably priced while still maintaining very good quality. The portions are sufficient – not huge, but definitely satisfying. The service staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and professional, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A great option if you’re looking for good value without compromising on quality.

Visited this restaurant towards the end of July while in Santorini with friends. Regarding the service, we were immediately greeted by the waitstaff and seated promptly. Although I didn’t get their names, the two gentlemen who served us were friendly and welcoming. They answered all of our questions about the menu, consistently checked in on us, and engaged in friendly conversation throughout our dinner. I split the buyurdi with bread (8€+2€) with a friend as an appetizer then ordered a moussaka (13€) as my main with a fanta (2.50€) to drink. The buyurdi was delicious! The cheeses were melted beautifully over the tomatoes and the entire dish was seasoned very well. Although you have to pay an extra 2€ for the bread, it is definitely worth getting to eat alongside this dish. The moussaka was impeccable and served hot and fresh! It may look like a small portion but it was very filling. To finish off our meal, we also tried the in house deserts, which included the portokalopita and greek chocolate & biscuits. Everything was carefully cooked by the sweetest chef. I personally had to thank her for her hard work and dedication to making our meals as enjoyable as they were. The restaurant itself is beautiful at night and I would recommend anyone go visit for an affordable dinner!

We wanted to have some lunch at a good restaurant with some nice views. Found this place here online with very good feedback. So I booked a table a few weeks before our visit. By phone call. I didn't specifically ask for a seafront table, didn't want to be complicated. Showed up at 12.00 for lunch and our table was ready. A front table with amazing ocean and island views. We were really really happy about that. Ordered the octopus carpaccio, the ceviche, fried calamari and Zuchini balls. A bottle of white greek wine with it. All plates were amazingly presented - real works of art. And it wasn't just the looks - everything tasted excellent! The cook is really a master of his art. Not just the best greek food we've ever had but in general one of the best meals we've ever had. By looks and taste. The Ceviche was presented inside a fake rock with dry ice - what a show! The calamari were served with fish roe and cuttlefish ink. Fantastic. Also the octopus and the Zuchini balls were outstanding as well. The wine though was lacking a bit of flavour, we did go for a cheaper bottle of a bit over 40 Euros, but still expected a bit more from it. The food, the views - all full points and nothing short of amazing. Four plates and a bottle of wine for just over 150 Euros. A fair deal. Really had the best time here. Just one thing did bother us a bit. We had the impression that our service wasn't that happy with our tip. The lady was really great the whole time, but somehow we've felt at the end that more was expected from us. Apart from that it was really a perfect lunch. Incredible and highly recommended. The menu is large and has something for everybody. Surely a place we will come back to one day. To try some other amazing dishes.

We stopped here after our tour of Santorini before heading back to our cruise ship. So glad that we did!! The food was so delicious and the view was absolutely breathtaking! Service was great too! An amazing view with delicious food. It’s all worth the experience. The staff was very kind and friendly with us. Totally recommend it. The only thing that would have matched better the high end atmosphere of the restaurant, would be a bit better maintained toilet. We highly recommend this restaurant, located at the highest central point on the Greek island of Santorini, in the town of Fira. It offers a perfect combination of visual, interpersonal, and culinary pleasure! We had breakfast and several lunches here, and the quality, taste, and artistic presentation of the dishes are truly impressive, sure to leave no one indifferent. The breathtaking views of the caldera will leave you speechless! We were always served by multiple waiters, each of them adding warmth, coziness, genuine smiles, and kindness to our delightful meals. To top it all off, we were treated to an exclusive and delicious dessert on the house, which was a wonderful surprise. We sincerely recommend visiting this restaurant if you find yourself in the capital of Santorini!

Great coffee (I like mine mild and soft so went for one shot cappucino). Foam is good, proper. Went with the cheese (feta type) pie, absolutely loved it. My partner also couldnt stop stealing bites. They can make it slightly warm in the oven. Very friendly and good vibe. Pistachio croissant is huge and doesn't taste too sweet so you can still taste the pistacchio

In the blistering midday heat, we decided to quench our thirst with some drinks. **Service:** The welcome was as warm as a polar bear’s hug, but hey, at least we got served. Maybe we looked like we’d just escaped a budget hostel or they just aren’t fans of Nordic charm. **Drinks:** The drink menu was a treasure trove of options. The fresh orange juice was so packed with pulp, it felt like drinking a fruit salad. **Prices and Location:** Prices were quite reasonable, probably because you can't see the famous caldera. But the spot is a stone’s throw from all the action, offering a peaceful retreat from the tourist stampede. **Atmosphere:** The place is charming, with comfortable seating and a soundtrack inspired the 1980s that’s pleasantly nostalgic without being deafening.

The best decision I ever made for lunch in my entire week in Santorini! Finally had a delicious meal prepared & cooked with care and worth the price😌 I guess it comes from experience and the calm and peaceful environment - reflected in the people working here as well - not in a hurry to serve 527 ppl per minute as it is the case on the other side of Fira:) the bread was homemade and tasted amazing! Although I had my doubts at first, since it’s not a local fish, I still went for a grilled salmon and it just might be the best salmon I ever ate. :)) 10-10

Amazing fresh juices, coffee. Dmitri is a good chef and a good person.

Fresh and tasty juice! The price was 3.90€ and when I took off the card to pay the woman charged me (without saying to me or even asking if I had cash) 10 cents more! It’s not for the amount it’s just that this move will definitely keep me away from this “coffeebrands” store..

Best coffee at super affordable prices. Makes all other restaurants serving coffee at exorbitant prices in Santorini seem like scams. Other restaurants should be ashamed of themselves. Will come back here everyday that I'm in santorini. Highly recommend for everyone who doesn't wanna spend a bomb

Great Greek coffee shop! Friendly staff. Unique coffee drinks. Modern and trendy look. Seating outside. They also have a juice bar in back.

Coffee Shop Vales is a top-notch coffee spot on Santorini, offering solid flat whites and breakfast pastries in the morning. The cozy atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating makes it a great place to relax. Locals frequent this spot, giving it an authentic feel away from the touristy areas. The fragrant Matcha Latte and zesty Avocado Toast are highly recommended, along with their strong specialty coffee.
Great coffee. Calm environment in the early morning. Great service. Initially came for coffee but people were coming in for breakfast. Ordered and food was ready fairly quickly. I recommend the hot latte. Great flavor. I added vanilla. Also ordered a flat white and protein bowl to start. But it was good so ended up ordering omelette. Delicious. You can’t go wrong.

The service here was absolutely amazing. They were very kind, and the food was DELICIOUS! I ordered a caramel latte and the golden crown (omelet) and it was so good. The portions are great and the prices are unbeatable! I definitely recommend checking out Vales!! Very cute inside & outside as well.

I accidentally spilled my coffee right after getting my omelet, I felt so bad because I didn’t even get to take a sip😭. The staff immediately came over to clean it up and kindly comforted me, even joking, “You were just too excited for the omelet, right?” I was so relieved 🥹and they even brought me a fresh cup of coffee. The coffee was excellent with beautiful latte art, the food was tasty, and the service was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended! Great food, great people, and a lovely atmosphere.

Best coffee in Santorini! And we tried MANY. My boyfriend, who is an espresso purist, said it was maybe the best espresso he’d ever had. Highly recommend the breakfast also! I got iced oat lattes and went back more than once during our stay. Don’t miss this spot!

In my opinion, one of the best coffee in Santorini, if not the best. As someone who loves coffee, knows a bit about coffee, and needs two cups a day - one in the morning, and one in the afternoon, I can say that this is one of the best coffee i've ever had, worldwide. Along with the coffee, there is a selection of cakes and sandwiches, and the banana bread, that I took with the coffee, was absolutely delicious.

Finally, have good coffee (good for me, my taste. Doesn't mean for everyone). If the coffee shop uses the name incl. "speciality", I should have found it earlier, could have good coffee earlier.

This place served me some of the best coffee I've had in Europe and for the cheapest prices I've paid for coffee probably ever. Their flatwhite is served a bit differently from other European shops in London, Paris, etc. in the sense that it came in a 4.5 oz gibraltar which is usually the vessel used for a cortado. They also have a cortado on the menu so perhaps they treat both as the same size and only aerate the milk differently for both drinks. Not the biggest deal in the world since we're talking about a missing 2 oz of milk compared to a traditional 6.5 oz flatwhite. After the flattado (heh) I ordered a double espresso of their Area 51 natural process Ethiopian roast and this is what led to me dropping this review. For only 2.50€ it was perfectly bright, fruity, and balanced and I could drink 10 more if it wouldn't give me a heart attack.

Absolutely a must stop for breakfast and coffee. The owner is super friendly, coffee is great, food is amazing especially the eggs!!! I highly recommend this place.
