The 9 best breakfast and brunch in Gotland

Get the impression it was once nice but is now a bit run down. Skagen had way too much sauce and not enough prawns. Not really worth the price. Would love to recommend but I think this place needs a bit of TLC. Might improve before the rush in July

Such a nice cafe! Excellent food (i think it has a connection with Fabrique?) and beautiful courtyard with flowers plants and places to sit. They had a shop but it was closed when we visited

Lovely setting and great area for kids to play in the nature. We came there for lunch, only sandwiches available, but super tasty. We also had kanelbulle which was really good.

Great lunch buffet filled with fresh dishes made with local ingredients. The area itself is beautiful and really relaxing, and I highly recommend a quick visit to any of their stores selling hand-made items.

The pizza was amazing the personel where awsome, only problem was the line. There were one cash register and we stood in line for about 15 min wich was annoying. We also bought one of their breads wixh also was amazing! Soft and cheewy.

Cute cafe that retains charm from the 60 and 70s. Regretfully, the coffee is also kept on a heater an tastes like something from the 70s... burnt asphalt. Why not keep the brewed coffee in a thermos like in every other establishment these days?

Mysig! Great selection of pastries and good coffee. And refills. Great place for Fika! Still retains its 80s ethos. Don't miss the Budapest pastries. The best ones that I have had till now. And I have around the world :)

We ordered chocolate cake on 4th of sep to be picked on 5th September. What we got is kladdkaka( mud cake). Highly disappointing experience. Not going back again.

I’m a big fan of both cafés! The food is always fresh, clearly made with care and love, and it tastes amazing. Portions are generous and beautifully prepared. The service is consistently effective, fast, welcoming, and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. The atmosphere in both cafés is warm and inviting — a perfect place to enjoy breakfast, a meal or coffee. Highly recommend!

A lovely breakfast place. You can have a small breakfast or more of a brunch. Coffees were delicious, scrambled eggs on point and Grandma's yogurt bowl was perfectly fresh and delicious. Real care was given to the presentation of everything. The team of young people working there were polite, friendly and efficient. The place is cosy and attractive. I would highly recommend it!

Lovely breakfast spot with outdoor tables in both sun and shade. A great selection of oats, yogurt, omelette, crepes. Fresh orange juice, excellent coffee. Staff friendly but busy so service a little slow (note this was during Almedalen week). Omelette could have had more cheese/salt.

Super friendly staff and tasty food. We stopped here after arriving on Gotland for some well deserved lunch. The soup of the day is a great deal, but don’t forget the locally brewed beer if you get the chance.

The breakfast here is excellent, with several bowl options. The place was bustling, and the staff was sometimes struggling to keep up with the high demand. The plates were carefully prepared and tasted excellent. Google rankings usually don't lie and they certainly didn't in this case.

Magnificent location, friendly young staff (summer jobs for some? So random quality). Beautiful and very good plates (with tasty shrimps!). For some dishes there is a vegetarian option, which is great, bravo! On the downside, the Spicy Tuna Tekkadon plate is mostly full and hidden by rice under the garnish, so you get the impression you're being ripped off for the price! But the taste was there all the same.

Really nice place very close to the beach. Menu offers not that many but a decent selection of food. The Vietnamese salad is super delicious, nice people, lovely place.

Perfect location next to the sandy beach. The moules frites was packed with flavor and the moules were perfectly cooked. The shrimp salad had a perfect mix of crispy veggies, glas noodles and heat. The burger was juicy and packed with flavors. What stole the show though was the Pink Lemonade. A non-alcoholic lemonade that we all loved. Friendly staff and a great view of the ocean. Can’t recommend enough.

Update 2022: a little less impressive compared to 6 years ago. Main oddity: kitchen closes at 9pm during summer season. Pretty sparse menu. Burger was juicy. 2016 review: Very quick and professional staff, wonderful environment and tasty dishes. My entrecôte was absolutely delicious.

We were driving around and a lot of places were still closed for the season. Until we found this! We were very happy, good food and reasonable priced, very friendly service and enough places to sit (at the front see photo, but also cozy backyard).

The best iced chai I’ve ever had, and a great spinach and cheese pie which was a large meal! Highly recommend to pop in even if it is just for icecream in their magical garden 💐

Good pastry, buns, cakes, sandwiches and bread but the layout indoors is terrible with no space for the cue and a small shop/counter room. Make sure to come on a nice day out side the busy hours and treat yourself to a fika in the garden...

Cosy bakery and café in Hemse in southern Gotland. Open all year around. If you want you can order cakes from a list or according to your specification.

came here for lunch and studies! the tofu banh mi was very tasty - no skimping on the sauce (i’m a big fan if sauce). it was pretty empty when i was there but it was still super nice that i was allowed to sit there for hours reading. i did get a kladdkaka as a snack at some point that also was very good! i’m always happy to go to a cafe and not have to worry about what’s in the food i’m consuming ~

What a surprise to find such a great vegan diner for lunch in Visby, Sweden! The food was amazing and served in very generous portions. We enjoyed the Vietnamese and Korean noodle salads which were exploding with flavor and served in very generous portions. Very satisfying! Dessert included a slices of delicious chocolate and carrot cakes. They were terrific! Next time you’re in Visby, highly recommend checking out Mirells!

Absolutely delicious vegan cafe with lots of GF options and a nice white wine. We were starving when we arrived and grateful for the friendly staff and fast delivery of food. We had the Thai bowl and summer salad (and forgot to grab pics before we started eating, the presentation was nicer than the pics denote.) Can’t wait to go again!

First-rate flavors, ingredients, balance, care in presentation (look how pretty this takeout is). I loved Mirells when I was working in Visby last summer. In 2024 I got only one day in Visby, and this is where I went for food that day.

As the only fully vegan restaurant in Visby, I’m giving a generous 4-Stars. My wife and I were just in Visby visiting an author friend and watch the ‘show’ of Medieval Week. The owner of a vegan place in Stockholm told us about Mirells and they are also on Happy Cow so it was a natural choice. We walked by earlier in the day and saw they had posted their hours which worked out for our schedule. We went back and they were locked up tight. The same thing happened the next day so I messaged them on Instagram and a day later they got back to me saying they had to unexpectedly close early. So, we went for lunch when they opened up again and had a couple selections. The chik’n cesar was good and so was the Ban Mi although it was lacking filling and only had a couple small pieces of tofu which we were craving for protein. It was also quite spicy for a Ban Mi. We ordered the salad again on our next visit and tried the avocado toast with a side of tofu. It was good but the tofu was spicy. It seems many places serve spicy foods without telling you they’re going to be spicy so we learned real quick about asking the levels of spice, oil, and salt. Be advised many places love piling on the fresh cilantro which they list as koriander., Baked items were tasty and the selection of beverages is good. They had issues with their credit card machine and with Sweden being a near cashless society, this can create possible issues. Our payments each time verified they were approved on the machine but their computer screen said it was not so they asked for a second try. Be sure to ask about this when you go there. Seating is indoor or outdoor. Friendly and helpful staff so be sure to stop by.

Found this place on the last 2 days of my holiday. Wish I found it earlier. The best coffee in the town and I’ve never had better pastries than this. We need somewhere like this in England! Can’t wait to come back

Amazing experiance, best food in Visby at the optimal location. The brunch is great

It’s a beautiful place with nice atmosphere but we weren’t lucky. We waited 1 hour for a table, then for order drinks. For ordering food we waited 1 hour!! And next 30 mins for the food. Two groups who came after us had food before us. The compensation (2 croissants and 1 small pastry for 7 people!) came after our asking what’s wrong. So even the food was good we left unhappy.
