Carvery
Breakfast restaurant
British restaurant
Toby Carvery Chadderton Park is a delightful family-friendly restaurant that specializes in serving up delicious roast meats in a carvery-style setting. This charming spot offers an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, perfect for those who want to kickstart their day with a hearty meal. Guests can indulge in classic breakfast favorites like eggs, bacon, and the famous Yorkshire puddings, all served warm and fresh.
We had an amazing first time visit today and enjoyed a roast dinner. Pork, gammon and turkey were well cooked and tasty . The Yorkshire puds were huge, fresh, and crunchy. Excellent customer service and great atmosphere.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First Visit to Toby – Great Breakfast Experience! I had breakfast at Toby this morning for the first time in my life, and overall, it was a great experience! The good: The food was served warm and tasted really good. The coffee was fantastic – definitely not the cheap kind you sometimes get at other places. The bread was soft and tender, and the unlimited English breakfast at this price is excellent value. It’s filling, satisfying, and worth it. The waitress was very kind and welcoming. As the only Asian person in the restaurant (everyone else seemed to be white), I felt completely comfortable – no discrimination at all, which I really appreciated. Lovely people and friendly staff all around. Suggestions for improvement: It would be great if they could offer some oats or cereals too – these don’t cost much and would add a nice healthy option. The background music was a little loud for me, but that might be just my personal preference. I could have moved to a quieter spot, so not a big issue. I’m definitely considering coming back for the Sunday roast – it feels like a national dish here in the UK, and I’d love to experience that too. Thank you, Toby team, for a warm and tasty breakfast! Will visit again.
Shum L — Google review
Google says the place opens at 8:00, but when we showed up at 8:02 absolutely nothing was ready and the staff stared at us like we were there to rob the place. (Especially the dark-skinned guy behind the register, pretending to be an engineer). We couldn’t even start eating until 8:20. Total joke. Wouldn’t recommend at all.
Jarek S — Google review
Had the carvery, very nice food. Got to the front of queue just at right time. Fresh turkey and huge Yorkshire puds. Good service too from Josh our waiter. All staff were very friendly. Recommended
Richard S — Google review
Georgia was our server today and she was amazing! Such a lovely experience. The food was delicious! Shout out to Georgia and to Johnny for their amazing service!
Sarah L — Google review
Great value, good quality food at a very reasonable price. Roast potatoes were the best I have experienced at a Toby. Crisp on outside and super fluffy inside. Dined towards end of lunch service so some of the veg was a tad dry hence one star less. Great friendly and attentive service from Josh.
Philip M — Google review
Attended Sunday and found it to be very busy. Carvery could not be faulted it was lovely. The wait to get to the carvery was over 40 minutes. I have a spinal disorder and find standing and walking painful. A lady asked if I could jump the queue and was told no by one of the waitresses. By the time I got back to the table my guests had finished their food. We requested the bill and was given another tables bill. Queried it and was given the correct bill. Would visit again but not Sunday as just too busy.
Lindsay C — Google review
Went in with the family and was met with outstanding service. Tom was just fantastic with my children and very accommodating at checking offers, prices, and entertaining my children - especially my sassy 3 year old. We had a good laugh. Myself and my partner managed to have a meal without stressing for a change just knowing Tom was there helping out. Thankyou so much Tom!

Restaurant
Grandpa Greene's Luxury Ice Cream is a delightful eatery that offers a wide range of delectable dishes. The pancakes and waffles are particularly indulgent and satisfying, leaving customers thoroughly pleased with their choice. The food is not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Although some patrons may have wished for an extra dollop of whipped cream on their waffles due to the abundance of chocolate, this can easily be requested during future visits.
Really nice food in a cosy environment next to the canal. Staff were friendly and polite and the food was great. They have inside seating plus outside seating too for people eating in the venue. They also have outside seating next to the canal for people buying takeaway ice cream. Worth checking out.
Jason D — Google review
Visited at lunchtime. Overall it was good but not exceptional. And for the prices, I was expecting better. I ordered the pulled pork bagel, which was massive but didn't come with any side salad or crisps as their photos on their socials media. So after eating half of it, becames boring as not having any other flavour in between, and it was a bit dry as the cheese was almost non existent. For the price I believe it should come with some sort of side. I also ordered their acai bowl to try. It was good and the portion again quite big, however the overall flavour was disappointing as the granola wasn't the best. It seemed shop bought low quality granola rather than homemade. And despite being big, I still think the price is steep. The location is really nice, next to the canal, but I didn't find it a memorable experience or made me feel that i won't to go back soon. It can be the perfect spot for ice cream when the weather is nice, but would not go for the rest of the food

Lovely Afternoon at Grandpa Greene for my mum’s birthday. Food was amazing, presentation of the afternoon tea was fantastic. My dog enjoyed her doggy ice cream too!! Staff were lovely and polite, shoutout to Jess who served us this afternoon making us feel very welcome, always asked if everything was ok and if we needed anymore drinks, very polite and friendly. She even brought out my mum a Happy Birthday dessert plate in which she loved, so thank you very much for that!!
Fashion B — Google review
Amazing afternoon tea for my mums birthday. 4 adults and 1 child. Lots of sandwiches, cakes and drinks on little picnic tables. There was something for everyone. Very friendly staff and quick service.
Kirsty D — Google review
Lovely place to visit even on a rainy day. We pre-booked sitting in one of the domes by the canal and it was a lovely experience. The food was delicious and the staff were really attentive, especially when the kitchen got our order wrong; they were quick to rectify it. Will definitely be back for afternoon tea as that also looked amazing
Emily H — Google review
The place itself is lovely with amazing views, and the food was very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the setting. Drinks and dessert took a long time to arrive, with some items forgotten, and the prosecco was served warm so we had to switch to an Aperol Spritz. The staff didn’t seem very proactive and lacked a real “can-do” attitude, which made the experience less smooth than it could have been. I do understand they were dealing with a busy shift, but if the service and customer care improved, this would be an exceptional spot. I’d definitely give it another try, though next time I’d go during a quieter period.
Nathany F — Google review
First visit here as we'd come to do the scarecrow trail. Staff helpful and friendly, all of them had a smile. It was very busy but we were able to get an outside table to eat our ice creams. I enjoyed the smarties 'rainbow' cone, everyone loved the ice cream, including our dog. Would definitely return with friends for hot food/afternoon tea.
Carolynne N — Google review
Fantastic atmosphere and great views by the river bank!! Food was utterly divine and the staff were all super friendly, really bringing up a younger generation of waiters/waitress' with a great attitude and such fantastic attention to details.had a great meal here! Also dog friendly which is a bonus! Downside: on a rainy day the toilets are not quite near the restaurant, you have to walk down the river bank maybe 150M? At a guess.

Caffè Grande Abaco is a unique cafe bar located in the village setting of Uppermill Saddleworth. It has recently expanded to four floors and is now the heart of Uppermill, surrounded by bars, restaurants, and boutiques. The cafe offers a diverse menu and welcomes families with kids. The beautifully decorated three-story building provides excellent service and amazing food at exceptional value.
This place is amazing. Atmosphere is cultured and the outside area is the best in the summer, but also fantastic in the colder months. We ordered the Grande Plater but unfortunately it arrived with no sardines or cheese…
Marc R — Google review
Had a lovely meal with my friend tonight (Sat 6th Sept) at Abaco and there was live music on. Very good singer/guitarist playing all the favourite covers. Great atmosphere and good service. Food was very nice. We had a a few small plates and tapas. We look forward to coming back.
Irene P — Google review
Stopped here for a drink and tried the sharing platter. It was very busy Friday lunchtime, but we managed to get a table on the 2nd floor. Service was quick and very pleasant. Drinks were expensive. The sharing platter was really good. We had the mixed meat and cheese one. There was plenty on the sharing board with lots of different cheeses, crackers, chutneys, fruit, and a selection of meats. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted fresh. It was a but pricey but we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back if in the area.
Camille D — Google review
Me and my girlfriend visited here today, it is her first time in Manchester so I thought I would show her the beautiful uppermill. Her reaction was priceless as she loves small picturesque towns. The cherry on top was caffe grande abaco. I had the chocca mocca and she had their abaco coffee. We both agreed it was one of the most amazing coffee’s we had ever had. Beautiful atmosphere and amazing staff too. Couldn’t ask for more

The food is to perfection with top quality products as they believe in doing everything right ! Try it for your self book a table & in enjoy the Mediterranean in the Uk !

This is a beautiful place to eat. The team were really friendly. I've marked service down slightly only as a few of thr vegetarian options were not available as they didn't have all the ingredients so my options were very limited. My friend who I visited with goes regularly with her husband and they love it. I would visit again though.
Mena S — Google review
This place left me an awe! Wonderfully decorated, lovely pictures on the wall, clean and good atmosphere all together. Good service, but not overly exciting. Good IPA, great coffee! Pizza was beautifully cooked. I would definitely recommend!
Tina P — Google review
Now I have been coming here years . Never a complaint on the food BUT the serving staff just not very good I am afraid . As per pics ordered the Abaco large board with wine £45 it ain’t cheap we had a few other drinks also . After first drink tried to order the staff are expert at looking down to avoid eye contact small young female short dumpy asked twice can we order . Asked same one for cutlery for the food smiled nodded but ignored what we said . Eventually tall blonde lady took our order very friendly , food came no cutlery asked young lad can we have some he came back with 1 knife ! Asked could we have a knife each at least !! Problem is they are always full , prime spot and food good but boy are the service staff slow and seem obsessed with spraying tables ! Anywhoo I will continue to go but come on it ain’t tricky . Few tables few drinks and food work hard get tips . UPDATE 3/11/2023 Place was empty Friday afternoon not a good sign! Several young Eastern European females inside chatting waited ten minutes sat at a table so I went inside to order asked could I order two medium cappuccinos female looked puzzled asked another for a tablet took my order and payment then she walked away I asked now what ? She replied wait here or stand here up to you ! I became annoyed look I just want two medium cappuccinos why is that so hard ? Eventually she said ok I’ll bring it to you …. 5 mins later another Eastern European female came outside asked was it take away ! I became angry look all I want is what I paid for two medium cappuccinos is that too difficult to understand she then said lady who took orders was new !! Eventually the arrived ! Heard staff was bad and witnessed this before and told owner not a nice chap to work for hence poor staff morale. We won’t be back place used to be ok “Owners reply response” Unfortunately Dan you don’t get a say in how I post my reviews . It was a honest observation your young female staff are Eastern European this is not a derogatory term simply a fact . By your turt response it’s obvious it’s true what they say about you, you didn’t seek to address or apologise for the poor service to a paying customer . Don’t worry I won’t be back . You had your chance and an empty place Friday afternoon speaks for itself . You will always get people who don’t care about service and simply want to sit outside posing . I’m not one of them like I said plenty better places nearby . Wish you the best for the future as you are going to need it ! UPDATE 6/7/24 Wow things have actually turned around gone from a negative one star to a 4-5 star review. Saturday afternoon place buzzing quick service from young staff ordered a beer and a la … previously latter devoid of brandy but this time plenty and tasty. Beer spot on but bit pricey. Ordered a cheese meat board plentiful fresh and very enjoyable . I think owner is listening and things have changed bravo 👏 Update 25/4/25 Changed a lot inside lots of alterations very enjoyable but very busy

The Shay Wake - JD Wetherspoon is a delightful pub that stands out among its peers, especially for families and groups. Visitors have praised the excellent service and accommodating staff, making it an ideal spot for meals with loved ones. While some diners have experienced menu changes that left them disappointed, many others enjoyed their meals and appreciated the pleasant atmosphere. Notably, this location offers easy access to restrooms without the need for stairs—a refreshing change from typical Wetherspoon venues.
First time I've been here, went with my son and two young granddaughters for a meal, we all had different meals which were all very nice. Service was excellent and the staff are really good and helpful. The nice surprise was you don't have to climb stairs to get to the toilets unlike every other Wetherspoons I've been too. It's definitely worth a visit.

Called for some tea after a day of shopping...place was very busy when we arrived around 2pm, but we got a seat ok and we're served quickly by friendly helpful staff who were doing a sterling job keeping the tables clear...would call again no problem.

Now we all know Weatherspoons are just an ok pub when it comes to food but the one in shaw is top notch. Staff great after visiting the one in Rochdale and Oldham which was like the movie dawn of the dead ! Awful places full of the absolute dregs of society. Shaw actually has families and nice people eating and drinking

Friday morning, 10am. The place was busy, a few tables spare. Really great atmosphere, people meeting for breakfast, some starting work, some at work. Service is outstanding. As spoons go this one's a cracker

It's a wetherspoons. We came here on a Tuesday for steak Tuesday. I wanted a large mixed grill. I wasted my time. Full menu change since my last visit to a wetherspoons. No steak, never mind mixed grill. Totally disappointed and got the beef madras. It werent nice. Lovely pub and service was spot on. Shan't be going wetherspoons in any town for food ever again.
Sarah T — Google review
We came here today after a top of the table football match for our under 13's team, approx 30 people rocking up at 11:30am wanting breakfast, the staff were fantastic at accommodating us! All the orders were spot on, food was lovely, the price even better, and the staff were best of all! Honestly really that good!
Stephen H — Google review
Went in today had first pint by going to the bar . Ordered 2 further pints from table service with no issue . Ordered a 4th further pint from table service after 15 mins still no drink went to the bar the table service screen above bar not working so I slightly stuck my body behind the bar to look at the screen that was working . Bar girl was most offensive telling me not to go behind the bar I tried explaining was only looking at the service screen . She was rude and obnoxious . Went to get the manageress who refused to let me explain and then barred me . Absolutely shocking behaviour by the staff . I am still waiting to see if the money for my drink will be refunded .

McDonald’s Huddersfield Road This mess is the replacement double cheeseburger for the one that was stone cold but it’s ok because they gave me some lukewarm fries by way of apology not very good at all
Peter A — Google review
Not only were the lids not put onto our drinks correctly so the inside of my car was covered in banana milkshake when they were passed too me, but they also missed off a burger from one of our meals. I asked them if our order had been double checked and was correct to which I was told yes it had and was definitely correct more than once. We are now left without a burger.

APPALLING. How hard can it be to read an order and place the right food into a bag? Every McDelivery we have had from here has been a shambles. Items missing every single time without fail. And the food you do manage to get is stone cold. Horrendous. Save yourself the money and patience, just go home and make a sandwich. Christ almighty.
E R — Google review
Avoid this one! Went through the drive through. The girl on the speaker just said 'yeah, what do you want'. Ordered the food, told to park up and waited 10 minutes. Drove home to find a happy meal with just chips in and a burger that looked as though it had been sat on. Called to explain things missing, they picked up the phone and left it on the side. Couldn't even be bothered to take the call. Appalling place.

Real care, about food, and customer services. I have been looking for this for ages ,funds are tight these days so when you spend ! do it right, it's no wonder people in Shaw are keeping this to themselves.🤣 Best shopping experience on market street Shaw for a long time.a butcher a baker a candlestick maker, traditional and friendly it's all on the high street .Tram from Manchester Victoria. Got seated at a table where someone had just left, got told table would get cleaned. Staff came over to take our order without being given a menu, didn't clean the table and left us sat waiting over 15 minutes without even being offered a drink. Served 2 people at the counter and just eat orders, rather than serving waiting, sitting customers. We got up and walked out, felt like we didn't exist. Appalling service

We absolutely love The Cafe and we do probably order at least once a week. We do get breakfast and lunch! The food is always absolutely delicious and great portion sizes too! I love the little touches too, such as the odd extra crusty bread with our salad or sometimes a slice of cake with a little note and a smile! Great service, great food! Love it! Just sometimes they are so busy delivery is turned off but that just goes to show how popular they are! Definitely recommend!

Nestled in a charming corner, Wilberrys Cafe offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With an ambiance reminiscent of grandma's kitchen on a cozy Saturday morning, this cafe exudes warmth and hospitality. The staff is incredibly welcoming, making it a perfect spot for dog owners too! Guests rave about the deliciously prepared meals that are both generous in portion and bursting with flavor.
We come from nearer the City now, though we used to live in Dobcross. Being nearer the City, I found that if you can find a cafe to buy a cooked breakfast/dinner, it seems more often than not, the quality just doesn't seem to be there. Nor that homeliness, and relaxed atmosphere. The food never seems to be cooked properly, as it's rushed to get out to you (which can be understandable sometimes). Here at Wilberrys, it's worth paying that extra cost (which isn't that much more when there's two of you). You also get the feeling of comfort. Being able to consume your meal in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure. You are also in a beautiful part of the country, with much nicer things to see. The quality of food is excellent. £18:00 for two really good sized brunches, and that includes your cuppa, when you're paying £15:00 in Oldham and the outskirts of Manchester. It's well worth the extra miles and time. The only downside, is they stop serving food at about 1:00pm, and close at 2:00pm.If this place stayed open a couple of hours longer, it'd be a much bigger goldmine than it already is. Having said that, if I was the owner. You could easily afford to close at the time they do. Just to add, that this place has been there for over twenty years, so early closing or not, they're doing it right. Thoroughly recommended. If you're going to Saddleworth and want to start on a good hearty breakfast, this is the place.

Such a cozy, welcoming cafe! The food was delicious and generously portioned. I especially loved the omelette, perfectly golden and absolutely tasty.

I came here today with my dog & it was like stepping back in time to my grandmas kitchen on a Saturday morning in the nicest way . The staff was so welcoming and warm especially with me having the dog . The atmosphere was just so wholesome it really felt like I was just in my grans kitchen . The decor is very very clean & the food was absolutely the best breakfast I’ve had . But hers sausage and bacon perfect orange yoky eggs with load of yoke , thick cut toast . Everything about it was beautiful so it looks like il be driving 40 mins for a breakfast every week . I also went alone with the dog which I’ve never ate alone before and not once did I felt uncomfortable.

Very disappointed with our first and only visit. Food had to be returned to be cooked properly (raw crumpets). The lack of ventilation meant the grease and cooking fumes irritated my nose and my partner's eyes. Needless to say we will not be returning.

This place is great. Warm welcome and service. Lovely food and coffee. It's a little gem.

Been to Wilberrys today with my mum and as usual the food was as it always is delicious, we both had cheese and onion, tomato toasty, salad, chips and a cup of tea , served with a smile, the food is freshly made and always piping hot ,if when you order they are busy they always tell you there might be a small wait ,the wait is worth it in my opinion and they are busy because they are serving quality food. We have been coming to Wilberrys cafe for ten years now and it had never disappointed us once, I recommend it to all my friends, it's spotlessly clean and the prices are extremely competitive.. It's homely in there and has a nice atmosphere whilst you eat and chat, met some lovely people in Wilberrys.. Summed up, if you like freshly made, traditional food served piping hot ,that doesn't cost the earth then give it a try .. By the way we ve had most things on the menu and it's all been lovely, cheese and onion pie is my favourite..

Unfortunately the Sweet chicken ciabatte had 2 small sharp chicken bones in, this could have been potentially dangerous, I reported this to the staff who did apologise, later a different member of staff came over and apologised again saying whoever prepared the chicken on Saturday must have left the bones in. This did not make me feel any better, thinking the chicken was cooked on Saturday and reheated today (Monday) I don't think we will be going back. Please also note no toilet facilities but public ones near by.

Food is expensive and was served cold. There was also people turning around because they couldn’t use the touch screens or wanted to pay in cash, it’s a fact Tesco no longer cares for the older generation who would prefer to pay cash or can’t use a touch screen without help from a member of staff, I was there for 20 minutes having a breakfast and I must of saw 8 people give up or leave when they realised it was card only.

I feel like I've been shafted up the rectum by tescos. payed 30 quid for two bacon buttys and chicken strips for it to show up cold. I'm appalled to say the least. would've felt better meeting someone in a balaclava in an alley and giving them my phone because I feel like I've been robbed with my eyes wide open.i might as well of marked my bum with a target spot. 30 quid I could've used on wiping my bum. great, thanks Tesco.

Terrible breakfast. £5.25 for standard breakfast added mushrooms £0.95 tinned plum tomatoes £0.95. Black pudding £1.25. Received 1 mushroom 1 tomato & over cooked black pudding. Over cooked egg hash browns were mush. Toast rock hard. Absolutely a waist of money I left most of it. Avoid go elsewhere

Chapter One Coffee House & Bagels is a delightful independent bookstore and café nestled in Manchester, born from a family's passion for literature, delectable cakes, and exceptional coffee. This charming spot invites you to gather with friends or strike up conversations with friendly regulars in its cozy atmosphere. The menu features mouthwatering offerings like their seasonal special—a toasted bagel filled with turkey, stuffing, cranberry, bacon, and Brie served alongside a savory gravy dipping sauce that leaves patrons raving about every bite.
We shared the seasonal special - toasted bagel with turkey, stuffing, cranberry, bacon and Brie, which came with a gravy dipping sauce. Omg it was so good, I barely took a breath in between bites. Had a lovely espresso martini to go with it. Great, cozy atmosphere and very friendly service. Probably could have used an extra staff member to help but happy for them that it was so busy! All of the tables around us were saying how delicious everything was.

Been 4 times since it opened, have wanted to try different bagels 🥯 and go with the full intention but EVERY time I get the special ploughman’s. If I could give it 10 🌟 I would. Please please don’t take it off the menu. Great little quiet sun trap out back.

I was expecting something special but it was pretty bog standard nothing different in quality to other places., very expensive for breakfast. Attention to detail was lacking, such as dirty glasses. Paying extra for a soft drink that is from a multipack and server warm with no ice... Losing a lot of stars due to the price expected more from an £8,50 bagel

We stumbled across this place and I’m so glad we did. The lady who worked there was so warm and inviting. I would definitely go again. The coffee and cake of the day was just heavenly *chef’s kiss*. Lovely little gem of a coffee shop and the seating and vibes are cozy and homely. Highly recommend!

Came in last week at mid day during a lunch rush and ordered some bread and a steak pie. The bread I was given was ok but the pie I received seemed like it had been reheated several times and was falling apart. After checking Facebook, food is claimed to be made fresh everyday however, this was mediocre at best. On a positive note although the line was long, staff were really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

The Bakehouse used to have a Baker three years ago who specialized in making pies, soup, and other dishes. It's unfortunate that the Olympic breakfast, which was beloved by many before their workday began, is no longer available. The café is well-known for its excellent food, particularly their delicious breakfast options. The staff members are known for being friendly and accommodating. Many customers have had pleasant experiences dining with their loved ones at this establishment and plan on returning again in the future.

We first tried this place three weeks ago. We had breakfasts. When they came Some of the food was warm and others cold. The bacon was hard, fried bread horrible. Then we went for dinner on Saturday. Big mistake, food was cold again, all cheap food sold for high prices. Give it a miss.

The staff here are truly exceptional; they go above and beyond to ensure every customer feels welcome—often remembering regular orders and even bringing drinks to your table when your hands are full.
I had to visit the area daily for about three weeks. The staff were excellent. Always patient, ensured you were happy, even brought my coffee to my table as my hands were full. We had been meaning to go and try this place for almost 2 years - wish we hadn’t put it off for that long. The English breakfast was very filling and I couldn’t fault it. The desi breakfast was also very tasty minus the dhaal (far too watery and didn’t really carry any taste to it). Barring that the meal was topped off with desi tea which was lovely and warming! The service was excellent by the brother on the counter (possibly the owner) - will be sure to go again as the prices are also very competitive!

I would highly recommend visiting and i will definetly be visiting again. Also you can pay on card so dont need to have cash.
