Brilliant and helpful staff. Food was good, I had the lamb which was lovely and a great range of vegetables. The roast spuds were a bit too hard for my liking. The restaurant was a bit airless and I couldn't see any air-conditioning. Also, the disabled parking is at the back of the restaurant, and the member of our party who has mobility problems struggled with the paving at the front - a smooth path might be better. As I said the staff were great and helpful.

We had such a lovely experience at Toby Carvery in Brentwood thanks to our waitress, Toni. From the moment we arrived, Toni was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us, checking in at just the right times without ever being intrusive. Toni was not only friendly but also very knowledgeable about the menu, and she made sure we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble—she was quick, efficient, and always had a smile on her face, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. It’s rare to come across service that feels both professional and personal, but Toni managed both effortlessly. Her helpfulness and positive attitude really stood out and made our meal that much more memorable. Thank you, Toni, for such excellent service—we’ll definitely be coming back, and we’ll be asking for you!

I found that this restaurant needs a freshen up. It looks kind of a little tired and the toilets are upstairs that is not ideal if you are w little less mobile. The food is a carvery so it is not always the best but I enjoy the choice you have and good value. The staff are always great

Good food. Pricey for a Cafe and Exceptionally long time for food to come out. The food itself was nice and tasty. The main issue was that whilst we were waiting around 40 minutes for a simple breakfast. This was made frustrating with multiple delivery drivers coming in collecting food orders. If the kitchen is taking that long to turn around an order in a cafe, then as a business they should be turning off their Uber eats services and prioritising their dine in customers. The waitress was actually very nice and pre warned us that there will be a bit of a wait, but just disappointing that deliveries were being prioritised. Especially for the price as it's not exactly cheap!

Visit ad-hoc after a ride out on the motorbike. The warm welcome and service was fantastic. The food was cooked fresh and was good quality. The atmosphere was lovely, a real old school feeling of a community cafe. Definitely will visit again when in the area.

Great little gem of a place for a delicious breakfast, this was a great start to our day, my omelette was perfect. Staff are efficient, smiling and happy. Also the coffee was excellent which can be quite rare. We all had a great breakfast and the price was reasonable, thank you.

My breakfast consisted of a Mediterranean twist and a hot chocolate. I wholeheartedly recommend both to everyone — they were absolutely delicious. The hot chocolate turned out amazing. I recommend this place to anyone visiting Shenfield.

Whenever I’m in Shenfield I always come here, staff are always really friendly and smiling, the food is great, their cakes are the best I have ever eaten and the coffee is delicious. Best place to eat or just have a coffee in the area hands down.

Went in today for brunch. The food was really good but the cafe itself (upstairs at least) was extremely dirty. The windows were filthy and clearly hadn’t seen a window cleaner in a long time. The walls had splatters of food up it and cob webs everywhere. The toilets were of the similar standard. It’s a shame as the staff and food were good!

We have a breakfast/lunch every weekend here at Midpoint bistro! The food and drinks are excellent and milkshakes are something to die for. Service is friendly attentive all the time even when they are super busy. All the girls are amazing and big shout out to our new friend Daniella who was taking care of us last time! Really glad this place is on the high street! After sitting in another popular cafe along the same side of the road with a hungry toddler and being ignored whilst waiting for my table to be cleaned for 30 minutes I left and went here. I had been seated and ordered within 5 minutes. The lady serving was lovely and good with my hangry toddler. After another bad experience with said popular cafe today, we have gone back here and once again, customer service is great, super friendly and the food is lovely - particularly the acoustic breakfast! This will now be my go-to!

This is the best Cafe in Brentwood for sure! Cozy atmosphere, nice decor. Food is just amazing, fresh and delicious and beautifully presented. My lasagna was to die for 🤤 Cakes are so yummy. Prices are very reasonable for such a big portions. And the staff is extremely friendly, helpful and polite. Highly recommend 👌🏼

We came here today for brunch- it was delicious. They have such a great team working here - all working together to deliver food to their customers. We had to wait a while for our food but it was worth it. Great team and great music and a great cup of builders tea- all good quality ingredients delivered with a Smile. Thank you Sue and the others

This is a lovely little cafe with nice, friendly staff, serving a great breakfast. We arrived within 10 minutes of it opening, and it was at full capacity within 30 minutes. I noticed a sign that says you can only have a table for 30 minutes. Personally, I think that should be more like 45 minutes to ensure you don't have to rush. Saying this, we were not rushed out, and I'm sure we were there for longer than 30 minutes.

What a nice surprise, finally found an exceptional cafe in Brentwood! Tucked in just off the A128 very close to town,who knew! Worth seeking out, really good food and a good atmosphere with friendly staff.Going to be a regular stop now l've found it

Popped into Eightea9 for breakfast and managed to get a table during the busy Sunday morning service. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our food arrived pretty quickly and was well presented. The choice of freshly juiced apple juice or from the carton was a nice touch. My favourite was the breakfast wrap, which was pretty substantial, very tasty and would only be improved if there was the option to have a sauce added in.

Amazing breakfast, with lots of coffee options. Caramel latte was a little on the sweet side, but we have had it before and it was fine. Overall good value for a top quality fry up.

I love the cute ambiance of this small restaurant! The scrambled eggs with feta cheese and chorizo on granary toast is my go-to, and it never disappoints. Despite the inconvenience of no card payments, the recent addition of bank transfers is a welcomed solution. Absolutely delicious and worth returning for!

went for breakfast , slow service , food nowhere as good as it used to be, poached eggs hard , scrambled eggs they charge as two items but clearly only one came up on the plate in one lump. Toast not included with meal, so when we got the bill we were staggered at the price nearly £60 for two breakfast and two glasses of orange juice, never again and I will warn my friends it is nothing like it used to be , and not worth the money.

The manager/owner is rude and the over charge for items that you asked to be replaced. My daughters had small omelette but they didn’t want chips and asked them to replace for ham. They still charge £2 a tiny piece of ham and didn’t take into account that they didn’t have chips. I don’t think she is friendly to people with kids. Miracle Cafe is much better and the food and stuff is better than Cafe 89. I used to love going to Cafe 89 but we aren’t going back. Shame that they don’t see that they have other competitors and they should threat customers well and respect! Do not go there if you have kids.

After being a regular for a very long time I was so disappointed in the service I received today from one of the girls in the cafe. I tried to make a deliveroo order so I called to find out when they will be accepting orders, then when I tried to make an order it said one of the items was out of stock I called to confirm the girl on the phone told me it’s not out of stock must be a mistake on deliveroo and to add another item and call back and she will tell the chef to change it which I did. The girl then called me 5 mins after I placed my order to say it is actually out of stock and she got it wrong which was fine I asked for it to substituted with something else. After this my order was cancelled on deliveroo so I called to ask if it’s been cancelled she said no it’s still going through, I checked deliveroo again and it appeared to be cancelled I was going out soon so wanted to confirm whether I need to order again. When I called again I heard her complaining saying ‘I can’t do this again’ in reference to speaking to me which I found SO rude, she then CONFIRMED it was still going through and they were making it she sounded very annoyed even though this was her mistake in the first place. She reassured me that it was going through and if there’s was any problems with deliveroo she would call me but I will be receiving my order. Luckily I didn’t listen to her and didn’t feel comfortable to make another order after how I was treated. My order never arrived and I was never called to sort this out. Awful service and so disappointing after being a regular for such a long time.

Never actually got served, waited nearly 10 minutes and had to leave, was on a safety course so didn’t have time to wait 2 did and arrived back on course 10 minutes late waited from queue to food 1/2 hour food looked good but didn’t try it, apparently phone to order in advance but not good to pop in for quick bacon sandwich

Great cafe with friendly staff and chef! Food always tastes good and is cooked fresh. You can also call in advance and place your order as they do get busy during the lunchtime rush.

New owner Vic cooks fresh food. It’ll take a while compared to normal cafes as it’s fresh but it’s well worth the wait. My favourite is the chicken tikka wrap, the curries and omelette. Call ahead to order if in a hurry

The Eagle Cafe is awsome and the food is top notch bruv! The staff are friendly and it's the ideal place to grab a full English breakfast or lunch. The best is the location as local to where I live and easy to get too. Maria and Kev are awesome.

It's an okay cafe, could be a great cafe but the owner is always in a foul mood and seems to dislike serving us. I will say the jacket potatoes need revisiting. £8 is crazy for what you get, the potatoes are worth like 40p at most and the toppings are miniscule. Now I understand profit margins but that is just taking the mick. Salad and coleslaw is very generic but passable. Now there is a cafe called Bombers we go to which is incredible but is a little further away. This is a cafe out of convenience. We still revisit and it's why I hive a solid 3 stars but as I said its just OK

Dropped into this café today with my boyfriend, but we walked out before even ordering due to the owner’s rude and dismissive attitude. I politely asked to see a menu after he asked if I wanted takeaway. Instead of answering, he repeated the same question as if I hadn’t said anything. When I asked again — calmly — to see a menu, he cut me off and laughed, saying “They’re all over the walls and tables, mate,” in a sarcastic tone. There was no reason for the attitude — I was just trying to order properly. The lack of basic respect and customer service made us feel completely unwelcome, so we left without ordering. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting even the most basic level of courtesy. (P.s he’s a very short bald man)

Recently refurbished its interior is comfortable with seating, power sockets and good coffee of course. Overall great. But… What has really let it down is that their toilets are permanently “out of order” - you can’t sit there with your laptop or with friends for any decent amount of time. Until the toilet is repaired unfortunately I’ll be taking my money elsewhere.

Nice staff but needed to get a member of staff to open the bathroom door, but they were far too busy so I just went elsewhere. Starbucks also burn all their coffee beans intentionally. Go elsewhere

Normally avoid places like Starbucks, Costa etc as I feel it’s too American for Britain. But gave in today as I decided to pop in for a sit down breakfast roll at about 7.30am. What a disappointment - EVERY table and chair was filthy! Nothing had been cleaned from the previous day. No matter which table I picked, they all had sticky film of coffee marks on them and the chairs and floor had crumbs all over. Surely, at the end of the day (and I know they close late) members of staff could wipe down the tables clean or do it first thing in the morning (not a very busy time) instead of having a nice long chat with someone they know who had walked in before us! Should have gone to Gail’s, it might be pricy but at least it’s clean. Maybe a Health inspector should pay them a visit.

The food is lovely but it seems every time I want a drink they don’t know what it is and I have to show them a picture of the drink what NEVER happens at any other Starbucks what shows they aren’t very professional and don’t know anything about what’s on the menu

Worst ever....5 cheese toastie raw in the middle, bacon roll had to be re heated & both mocha frappachinos only filled to JUST over half way (1 small & 1 large we don't have cream) and they were like water with a flavouring....it was delivered tried calling no answer

A wide range of coffee, both hot and cold, plus cakes and pastries. The shop is located on the ground floor and disabled access is available. There is plenty of space inside with seating and tables for clients. Food and drinks can also be taken away. Uber eats are available.

There was 1 person in Starbucks when I arrived and it was very quite, the employees were chatting away doing nothing they didn’t even notice me and on top of that every single table had rubbish on and if it didn’t then it was dirty and had not been wiped down. The floor was also disgusting. Customers ended up coming in and there was no rush at assist them as the line piled on, after 1 customer was served the employees carried on their conversations for a few minutes and then served the next customer after making them wait.

The food was good. Lasagna, chips and salad. Tasted great for the price. Eggs royale were good. Salmon was fresh. Eggs were a little over cooked for my taste, the yolk wasn't completely runny. Server didn't get my tea order correct. I ordered Earl grey but I got green tea. The coffee was decent, tasted like instant coffee. Couldn't pay by card... Was lucky to have cash on me.

What an awesome find just off Brentwood High Street. Tables in the sun, awesome pie, mash , liqueur and liver and onions and mash which were truly topped off by a massive portion of awesome service. If you are passing then don't miss out. Prices were very reasonable also.

I had the American pancake breakfast, generous portions! Food was hot and fresh. Iced chai latte was so good and had a strawberry smoothie.

Lovely bistro with a good selection of quality Turkish food and friendly happy staff. Great coffee, tea and my favourite Chai latte to have in or take away. Beautifully designed, relaxing interior which even follows through to the take away cups. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Not even sure where to begin — the service was shockingly bad. Staff are disinterested, aimlessly wandering around in a daze. A customer raised a complaint about the long wait, only to be met with a shrug from the employee. We waited nearly 25 minutes for a basic order. The McFlurries were scooped early and then left melting on the counter for over 20 minutes before they were handed over. When we finally got our food and drove home, we discovered the order was completely wrong, no surprised there!! Somehow, a McSpicy became a McCrispy, and please tell me why is there a spicy chicken fillet in my chicken sandwich?! It’s as if the staff haven’t eaten at McDonald’s before, let alone worked there… If you have food allergies or specific dietary needs, I’d strongly advise avoiding this location altogether — they clearly don’t check or care what they’re serving. Disorganised, slow, and careless. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere.

One of the most disappointing McDonald’s experiences I’ve ever had. This particular branch is consistently slow, disorganised, and poorly managed. I originally started coming here because of work, assuming it would be a convenient option to grab something quickly during a busy day. Unfortunately, every single visit has been a letdown. At first, I excused the delays thinking they might just be unusually busy. However, after several visits at different times of the day, I realised that this inefficiency is the norm here, not the exception. Even the simplest of orders—like a shake, a drink, or just some fries—end up taking an unreasonable amount of time. The minimum wait feels excessive, no matter how quiet the store appears. I’ve even tried ordering ahead through the app, hoping to save time, but that too has been utterly hopeless. On multiple occasions, I’ve arrived only to find my order still not ready, which defeats the entire purpose of using the service. The front of the store is consistently neglected; as shown in the photo, it always appears chaotic and unmanned, with staff seemingly focused only on the kitchen. Customer-facing service feels like an afterthought. For the past three months, I’ve observed the same pattern over and over again, without any noticeable effort to improve. This branch urgently needs serious management attention and improvements. I don’t normally write reviews of this nature, but the repeated disappointment has left me with no choice. A brand as big as McDonald’s should hold itself to a much higher standard of speed, organisation, and customer service than what this location delivers.

The food it so shit I older 20 A chicken nugget supposedly chips and three milkshakes milkshakes come melted two strawberry milkshakes and one milkshake. It was meant to be a banana and it’s literally no flavour in it is literally just milk. And they don’t give you a refund after you spent nearly 30 quid on Deliveroo

Its okay. Its fast food. They accept cash which is great. Friendly staff. The negatives are they have gotten our orders wrong with items missing. Would recommend to check your order before leaving! Slower service for walk in customers, as it appears most of their efforts in the kitchen are for Deliveroo Orders. May as well rename the place ‘McDeliveroo’ as walk in customers are pretty much second place, not exactly fast food.

The food is fine to decent McDonald's standard, and I have to say I have been in before, and it was fine when we came about 1pm before. But on this occassion I felt sorry for the staff, McDonald's was overrun with many teenage kids and this was in the late afternoon around 6pm , the kids were acting rude, trying to get extra burgers, messing about by the toilets, mimicking the staff. It was not the best atmosphere with small child families in the restaurant at the time. The food was absolutely fine, but the service was a little slow. I'm glad we were taking away. Hopefully, it's not an ongoing problem. Otherwise, it will probably close again.

Worst place I’ve ever been in my entire life, food was cold , nuggets were burnt and my drink was a mix of oasis and coke. One was supposed to be diet and one normal but the buttons on the lid were not pressed, I asked which was the diet and was just told ‘I don’t know’. I asked the manager politely for the drink to be changed the guy just laughed at me then said no, eventually changing it after a back and forth but it came back the exact same and the staff were arguing and shouting at each other in the kitchen background, overall the worst experience I’ve had at a McDonald’s, I would not recommend anyone comes here, save your time and go to the next nearest one.

The most disgusting cheeseburger my husband has EVER tasted. The burger was cold and dry. The roll was flat. My chicken burger was overcooked and swimming in mayonnaise. Our chips were cold. Not what you expect on a Saturday evening. Staff disinterested. Would like to give 0 star review but, sadly, that's not an option.

They don't do a complete breakfast ie .set breakfast with coffee and bread and butter. That makes them expensive. Go to munchies Northumberland heath and you will get a full breakfast for £6.50 also can't swap beans for tomatoes 🤷‍♂️why .you might want to remove we don't swap items on the set menu if you actually do 🤔also can't find a complete breakfast on your menus 🤷‍♂️so I stand by my review

I visited with a friend and I have no complaints. Forest Cafe is clean, the customer service is as expected, and we were served promptly. The price is very reasonable as well. I highly recommend it and will definitely return at some point.

Lovely fluffy bread nice smooth coffe but putting 1 sausage in a sausage sandwich and cutting it in half and charging 8.40 yeah that's cheeky and seeing that fact was mostly pre cooked and had a sack of the sausages in a heat bucket maby 2 or 3 in a sandwich but one can buy pack of sausages cheaper

When I first started using this cafe in October 22 I was really impressed and enjoyed the breakfasts. Now I come here less and less because they are rubbish, beans and mushrooms are always cold and hard… bacon is cold .. the only nice thing on the plate is the hash browns. I come here around 10am in the morning and they are always empty so I don’t understand why you serve my food in 30 seconds snd it’s all cold and clearly been sitting around. Today I was really disappointed and I will not be returning, I had to eat it as fast as possible because it was already cold when it was served to me. Staff are very polite and friendly but your food need to be improved. No one wants hard cold beans mate. £10 for breakfast better make it a nice one!!
