Absolutely amazing breakfast spot! I had the avocado toast and French onion soup, and both were absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. My husband ordered the vegetarian omelet, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. To top it all off, the matcha tea was outstanding—smooth, rich, and the best I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves delicious food and warm service!

Stopped by as my mom wanted to try the place again. In this visit we found the service to be slow. Just like what other reviewers noted too. We had to flag down a server to check on our food. Once they went back to the area to check on it we saw that they were carrying it out with in a minute. This means our food was sitting ere for a while. The place wasn't busy as there are a few open tables but we still waited for a table. We counted the number of guess and looked at the number of workers. They had a good ratio. Not sure why it was so slow. When the food arrived it looked good. Instagram ready. Flavors were okay. Overall its a 3 star place, but with a 2 star service. If you want to try out the place make sure you have extra time.

Unfortunately my family and I did not have a good experience here. Our food just didn’t come out right for us. Our bacon was burnt and mostly everything was cool to the touch including our French onion soup. My entree seemed like it got forgotten about as it came out several minutes after. My wife asked for well done eggs and they came out runny! The waiter was very nice though. We did however go to this restaurant on a Sunday which is a fairly busy day. I’m not sure if I would drive that far away to return to this restaurant again.

We really wanted to like this place! We just moved to Alameda and this was our first meal outing for breakfast. We were majorly disappointed with the service. Our server took our drink order and did not return to our table until over 30 minutes later, without our drinks and had forgotten what our drink order was to begin with. After 30 minutes, we flagged a different server to take our full order and bring our drinks. Our food came about 15 minutes later but only for 2 of 3 from our party. One person in our party did not get their order and we then had to flag someone else down to let them know. Once we received the final food order, the rest of us had already finished eating. We then ordered drinks to sip while our other guest finished their meal and the server brought the wrong drink. All in all, the food was alright but the service is what really made this experience. So many mistakes back to back made this experience so comically difficult. We wish we could say we’d come back but we are left with a bad taste after this.

Art neavau brunch vibe with french posters. Breakfast until 2pm on weekends. Popular but a lot of tables. I enjoyed the classic eggs Bene, bit my partner thought the crouque monsieur was missing a decent cheese to give it taste. County potatoes were great. Service was fast and courteous.

This place was cute. Food was ok. Belini were decent priced. I like my pancake golden, the one I received was dark brown. The country potatoes seem to be old and no season and the eggs were bland. Great company with my Lil sis.

Our family sat in the outdoor seating area and was immediately greeted and took our order. However, the food was very mediocre and not worth the overinflated prices. We ordered 2 burgers and 2 glasses of orange juice and a side of fries and it was $100! The burger was okay, a bit dry and the sweet potato fries were way too soft and had an odd smell/taste to them. Would not recommend.

One of my favorite brunch spots on Park.Donuts are on point and the service always so lovely. Edit (2024):since Covid,food quality has really gone down.Pancakes were raw last time and tried to give it another go but no cigar. Donuts and service are still good.

Not bad, but also a bit ‘plain Jane.’ Wanted a simple scramble and wasn’t expecting a giant layer of cheap processed cheese coating the top of my meal (seriously like a Chicago style deep dish pizza). I’d order the chorizo again tho, just without cheddar. Food came out super fast. Both waitresses seemed super attentive. Ty for having me and cheers.

This was a great small breakfast location with a decent standard breakfast of hash browns, sausage, and eggs, but where they really shine is their pancakes and French toast. Their customer service is also excellent and you can even grab a doughnut to go after your meal! If I lived in the area I would definitely make this a regular spot.

Wonderful surprise. Delicious omelet's and Wonderful service. The only drawback was the coffee tasted burned and was too acidic for me. I opted for tea. If you want a great breakfast with great service come here!

Late Breakfast & Lunch was ok. The French toast was not hot it was warm. The hot chocolate was good! The food came out not even 10 minutes after it was ordered. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful with providing service. The other employees helped to bring in the supplies for the restaurant. In between taking in supplies the employee refilled a water and coffee and did not wash her hands. The cook came out with a hand truck to assist also. Five females and two males and not one person washed their hands. We sat and watched.

They have basic breakfast place vibes, which is great, because it means they focus on the food and service first. Very fast, very good breakfasts, at honestly some of the better prices for the area.

Great place for breakfast! Place was clean and well put together in the kitchen. Waitress was very friendly..coffee was hot and strong. Biscuits were out of bounds good. Fluffy and a well put together mix. I enjoyed them very much. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys breakfast.

What a great way to stay your day! I ordered the warlord with 2 eggs and bacon! The service is outstanding! The food taste spot on! Waffle is just how I like it, slightly crispy, not soggy, eggs were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed to coffee too! The atmosphere is inviting as well! Cheers!

This is a classic diner offering counter and table service. The staff is very good. Coffee was served as soon as I sat down. The orange was squeezed fresh while I watched! My waffle and fruit came out very fast. The bathroom was clean enough.

My Mom was in town visiting for the weekend. We went on a brief hike before breakfast and sat at the counter rather than a booth which was an interesting and nostalgic experience as we imagined who sat in the same spot over the years. I had the french toast and hot chocolate which were both fantastic. The food prices are reasonable with nice sized portions. I will definitely return and recommend to others looking for a historic dining experience.

Absolutely love this place. Service is so fast and so friendly. Besides the fresh and crispy waffles they have a fresh squeezed orange machine. I could eat here all the time!!!!

Came here for the first time. They asked me if I wanted to be seated next to a large party and I agreed. Because of that the service was a little slow but the server was very polite. The food was delicious. I had the corned beef special. The portions were very generous. The corned beef was a little bit sweeter than what I was expecting but the rest of the meal was great. I would definitely would like to come back again.

Great waffle shop in the alameda area, went on a weekday and there was no line to enter, but on weekends there is always people waiting to get inside, the food has good portions and flavorful, service top notch they have a terrace, so they are pet friendly

What a cute cafe! I really enjoyed the local vibe here. Everyone is asked to bus their own tables, and the drinks were very good. I ordered an Americano. I would say that the breakfasts are not exactly worth the cost. We ordered an egg, toast, and sausage breakfast and that was something easily made at home for like 1/10 the cost lol. I'd come here to hangout and get drinks though!

Really enjoying this place. I've had a few meals because I work near by, but I've come in a few times as well now. The staff is always pretty nice. Especially the coffee maker person. Always clean tables. Lots of places to sit. The house made pickled onions on the avocado toast drive me wild! Fast service, clean restrooms, outdoor seating available. My only gripe is there are a weird amount of dogs every time I come to this place. So there's a bit of fecal visibility and noise while you eat/chat but not the restaurants fault. Definitely come check this place out. Bring your dog.

A surprising find in the middle of a residential neighborhood. I avoided trying them for almost 2 years for no reason other than the lack of seating and how crazy it would potentially get if they got slammed. Boy, I wish I started coming earlier! Their food is delicious and they seem to have more seating by way of an auxiliary room to the side. Their baked goods on display at the counter were an exercise in resisting temptation. We tried their strata and the waffle with fruit. The waffle was nothing too exciting but my little one was thrilled at the amount of whipped cream, butter, and fruit it showed up with. My strata was an unbelievably light and fluffy affair with leeks and bread, and a wonderfully crisp top hat. The only downside to the meal was how their bacon showed up- little porky 'rosettes' they were rolled up and baked so it was baked unevenly, the tops done. Overlooking that small infraction, and the tight seating, especially at the communal table next to where folks in line are, we enjoyed our brunch. Hopefully you'll be as delighted as I was when you pay a visit. *bonus point for the employee wearing the DIJ shirt!*

You just can’t get charm at Pete’s and Starbucks like you can get at a small coffee shop like this, especially when you walk in and see the owner sitting down working, you can taste the dedication to the business through each pleasant sip of my oat mocha. Customer Service goes above and beyond, making me feel welcome and desired to be there. They are very easy-going, and you feel it as soon as you walk in with many people enjoying meals at tables and laughing galore. You can tell that this coffee shop screams character charm. Closed Sunday and Monday, open five days a week until 130 get a chance to visit this lovely coffee shop and meet the wonderful owners and all of her employees. When it comes to coffee, I am always the customer that struggles with finding the perfectly balanced espresso drink. In my experience, it has always been too hot, to milky, or not milky enough, with past experience I always add a extra shot into my large mocha. Upon first sip, a smile formed from ear to ear as I surprisingly found my new favorite coffee shop. This is the only coffee shop really worth going to in Alameda. The beans are roasted perfectly, brewed At just the right time so that it gives off pleasant espresso aromas and thick Crema. The espresso taste pierces through the smooth velvety chocolate milk, evenly spreading throughout the pallet of my tongue, giving no bitter taste whatsoever. This drink does not need any correction. It does not need any added sugar, it does not need any more milk, it does not need to be heated up or cooled down, it is perfect, and honestly I did not think that existed in the world of coffee.

Went here while I was waiting for someone. A cute cafe with lots of indoor seating. The dishes are all around $11-14. I just got a scone and a coffee and let me tell you, I would go back for a scone!! I had the feta spinach one and it was buttery delicious.

Really great little shop. The coffee is the highlight, it is truly so good! The breakfast is wonderful as well. I highly recommend the French toast. The staff is also friendly. The only thing that makes it a 4 is that all the savory breakfast really lacks seasoning. Definitely worth stopping in!

Great little cafe that will take you back in time 50 years ago. Booth seating. Reasonably priced tasty classic American breakfast and sandwiches (comes with fries). Yummy comfort food that people of all ages keep coming back for more. Food comes out piping hot. The cooks are Thai so there is also Thai and Asian menu too. Not too many restaurants left in Alameda that have the look and a good part of their menu that is still set in the 1960s. Go and patronize this mom and pop business. Opens 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch only. We need to keep Southshore Cafe in business. There is wheelchair accessible specific table ♿️ close to the entrance.

Just out tooling around with Artichoke Joe when we stumble upon Hank the Go Getter and his little smooth as silk Muffintop, Toni Twolips, they were just coming out of the Southshore Café, and couldn't give the joint enough praise! So ..What do you do...You go in and see for yourself! And, that's exactly what we did, and let me tell you something...The food was Amazing! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

Good Food, reasonable prices, great service.

These mom and pop restaurants never cease to uphold to their standards. Very nice team and delicious food. I tried their chicken apple sausage and banana pancakes.... They were perfectly made, nice and warm, took me back to Saturday morning in my childhood with mom fixing breakfast 🥰. And the unlimited coffee the gentleman was refilling (I had 3 cups} was an added bonus.

The staff is so friendly and patient. The fries were perfect, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They're also such a fun shape! The food lacked seasoning/flavor and yet was still pretty good. It was a little like something you would just make at home. The menu's also very diverse and confusing.

The perfect hole in the wall breakfast nook. This is a delightful throwback restaurant. No frills. No avocado toast. Mugs are comfy. Menu is a piece of paper! My hot link breakfast was spot on. Hashbrowns were perfect. This place rocks.

Hidden behind office depot a older breakfast hub, food was good, gets busy on weekend brunch time. The French toast was just right not too sweet, I'd probably ask for no powdered sugar next time personally. The omelette was made good potatoes where fresh. Good breakfast hub will be going again

This was on my list for breakfast food with a dog friendly area. The fact that I am Filipino and have been a Sous Chef also impact my review. I like Ole’s on Park and have been going when I want this kind of far since the 80’s. Neptunes is better which makes want to give a higher review, but I can’t. The French Toast with Berry’s is a repeat. I didn’t even try the syrup so I have no idea if it was good. Bacon was excellent too. But I found three human hairs in the dish and I have a shaved head. I also with the server mentioned the drink menu and the things they different from standard. We also ordered the Wagyu Loco Moco. The smash burger preparation was perfect. Egg was standard sunny side up done easy. The garlic fried rice was acceptable for a Filipino. The salad had some wilted sprouts. But my meal was ruined by their “breaky sauce” I was excited because I knew it would be different but it just didn’t work for me. It was an overpowering vinaigrette that would have worked well with a choooed salad with a protein. But felt totally off with patties, rice and eggs. As a Filipino I would have rather just had a separate dish of vinegar to add that as I wanted but intend my patties were drowned in a sauce that did not work for me. For Neltunes management. For me loose hair is a prep and hair net issue. That shouldn’t happen one let alone 3x in the same dish?!?! For your servers please have them explain the two menus and what is different from standards like Loco Moco. If those issues are fixed next time I go back I’ll score the food at 4 stars which y’all should deserve for a local breakfast joint.

I am writing this 2 star review with a heavy heart, however, reviews are supposed to be helpful to others. Reviews should also be helpful for businesses to understand their customers. A low rating is not a attack, but an opportunity for the business to elevate their customer experience. We were very excited to try Neptune's! We looked at many yummy pictures other reviews had shared. We identified a few dishes we were very excited about. Usually when we travel for a dining experience we familiarize ourselves with directions, parking, and opening ours. All of which are available from Google Business. After we drove 35 minutes to Neptunes we were at first pleased about ample parking but soon realized it was closed. To be more clear, it was open but you cannot eat there. Sort of a throwback to 2020. Kind of odd and totally unexpected. It clearly states online Open on Saturday 8.30AM - 2.30PM including Dine In, Curbside pickup, Delivery. We were excited, but left disappointed. We had a day planned that got delayed, which really hurts when you come prepared. We did end up at Cafe Jolie, which is just around the corner from Neptunes, and had a good experience.

I can never pass up the fried chicken here. Outstanding flavor and crunch, their garlic rice is the perfect balance of fried garlic and rice. The loco moco is outrageous: thick, flavorful gravy without being gloopy, and a tender patty that melts in the mouth. I wish I could eat here more often. The coffee slaps too

Best breakfast in town. We got the breakfast burrito and the berry french toast, both so delicious! Staff was so nice and helpful when we asked for suggestions. Espresso on point. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful service, super tasty food and coffee. Glad we asked about the Spaniard, was a super creamy nice change to try! Loved the longanisa lumpia and chorizo tots shared plates. Silog and loco moco entrees were sizeable and made for great leftover eats later!

Hidden gem on Webster. Skip the pastries, go for their omelettes. The back yard with the fountain and garden is such a vibe. Folks behind the register get to know their regulars and they are organized and efficient.

I love this place! The inside feels like a local gathering spot. Kind of loud, but very friendly with smaller tables, outdoor tables out front, and a large wooden table with benches. I mostly sit outside in the patio. It is serene with plants and a fountain. There are there are a couple of large tables with benches under a tin roof, and more cozy tables tucked around the garden.

The staff are all so polite. The food is REALLY good. French fries 100% perfect. Seasoned perfectly, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. I recommend you choose the outdoor seating in the back because it's the most perfect seating area ever. I sat near the fountain, my shoes got wet but I was too focused on the food. First time we sat w/o talking. Went here a second time and the food just wasn't as good as before. Bacon was dry.

Place looks nice but the staff is rude and lazy. I ordered some food and a coffee and was told I can sit anywhere. After sitting and getting some food i let the waitress know I was still waiting for my coffee and she said she is not going to bring it and told me to get it myself. I was a little annoyed but maybe I didnt hear the guy at the register tell me this. I went to get my coffee and I asked if they had a white mocha and guy said I dont know.

This is such a great place. It's design is so cute. Its a train station. It has ample seating for everyone. You always see the locals here. The food and pastries are home made. When visiting I always got moms oatmeal. I tried the chocate croissants and the cheese Danish, amazing. I tried their green monster drink. It is hethy and delicious. Everything is made when ordered so it is very fresh. The service is outstanding, some of the best customer service you can get these days. Overall rating is excellent!!

Phenomenal brunch flavors are worth the wait (and sore bum)! Kitchen Story is an epic brunch spot. If you're planning a weekend visit, I definitely recommend making a reservation, or be prepared for a bit of a wait. I met a friend here for Sunday brunch, and we ordered an assortment of plates and beverages to share. Everything was delicious and repeatable, but here's my order of personal preference for the food: Korean FC Wings: Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely standout. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes: Perfectly fluffy, and bright flavors on perfectly prepared pancakes. Goji Bowl: A solid, satisfying savory option. For beverages, the Ube Latte and the Millionaire's Bloody Mary were the stars of the show. Their house coffee and unsweetened passion fruit iced tea were good, but fairly standard. My only suggestion for management would be to invest in more comfortable seating, but honestly, it was worth the sore bum to enjoy all those delicious flavors! I will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.

The melding together of American breakfast and brunch favorites with a Korean twist is a match made in heaven. Korean fried chicken is married to Belgian waffles in one of the best chicken and waffle breakfasts I’ve ever had. Their millionaire bacon, creamy but also crispy potatoes and Benedict’s should not be missed either. If the weather allows, eat on the sidewalk or in the parklet. Excellent!

The Millionaire’s Bacon is simply spectacular—thick, crispy, and with just the right balance of sweet and savory. Their brunch never disappoints, with generous portions and flavorful dishes. Solid brunch spot in a great location right on College Ave! I've been to this kitchen story location twice now and would happily come back again. The first time I came in, I had the chicken and waffles which was really great. This most recent time, I had the Big Hass Scramble which was pretty good, but I would say that I probably preferred the chicken and waffles. My girlfriend had the gogi bowl which I thought was decent, but I thought it could have used some spice (maybe some gochujang flavor?). Overall, this place is solid and I'll likely be back again soon.

This is a nice cozy spot. The staff are friendly. Everything was tasty but my favorite was the mascarpone french toast. The Tornado Galbi Omurice was super flavorful. The portions were very generous and can definitely be shared between 2 people. The mango margarita was delicious as well. They definitely wanted us out by the end of the meal but it was a busy Saturday morning so understandable. They did not rush us out but did drop the check promptly after collecting our empty dishes. Highly recommend! Definitely adding to my brunch spot rotation.

Its on a lovely strip of Oakland and incredibly popular. Highly recommend reservations, but we dropped in and were able to get a table right away. We just beat the next wave and it stays busy for a reason. Area is off of residential streets so be curtious when parking near the homes to explore the shops/area. Lovely for a stroll. As with most cities do not leave goods visible in your car or at all in your car, despite the charming streets. The food is excellent. Went as a family unit and the kids finished everything. It comes as a feast for your eyes first. Omurice, open plate, and the flentire French toast and pancake section we all thoroughly enjoyed. Most before I could take a photo ❤️ The team is so polite and frequently checked in with guest on the wait list to give timing updates.

When I say the is a Hidden Gem! I mean this is the definition of it. They are in back parking lot. (Food review at bottom) (I like ketchup on my food. Sorry I ruined the picture) I'm a first-time customer. I called in for my order absolutely the best customer service over the phone, extremely helpful, knowledgeable and asked questions pertaining to my order to better help. I ordered a Western Omelette and it came loaded with all the trimmings. Great presentation, Great taste, and more than enough to fill me up twice in one sitting. You can Definitely tell the difference in Taste when someone cooks food and they do it because they enjoy it their job. The Amazing quality of food was evident in the wholesome and welcoming environment as I was happily greeted by staff.

The 5 star rating is for the exceptional service by the gentleman(forget his name). He made us feel right at home and took care of us like family l. Not sure if he is the owner, but indeed a great way to start the day at this place. The food was amazing as well, except for the blueberry pancake. If you are in town and if Ole's waffle House is a mad rush, consider going to Jim's coffee house. You won't be disappointed!

Best breakfast spot in alameda hands down. Now that Shang Tao and Pamela Price have killed businesses being able to operate on Haggenberger Road (Dennys, Black Bear, In and Out, Raising Canes), this is by far the best find I’ve encountered near Oakland International Airport. There’s a massive parking lot in the back along with a rear entrance door. It’s clear the servers and manager enjoys working here and takes pride in their work. The food was really legit and the price to value off the charts. Everything about this spot is ‘stuck in time’ in the best possible way. Highly recommended you stop by if you’re needing to load up on calories early on in your day. Cheers! Will def be backs

Quaintly located in Downtown Oakland's Jack London square this restaurant grille has an old world family feel. Great family spot with a bar sitting option, staff was quick and polite . I had the crab Benedict plate with belgian waffle. Absolute must try!!!

I haven’t been here I years and I must say it’s still good. The service was fast and the food was amazing. My only issue was sitting by a gap in the wall that was blowing cold air in from outside. I think these were service doors that used to open however been converted to a window wall with a bad sealing.

Service was pretty bad. We had to ask for them to attend us after they seated us.. We ordered the vegan eggs Benedicts, Benedict sauce was very sour, absolutely not like a traditional sauce. Spinach leafs looked not fresh. We politely asked to swap plate, and they agreed but still billed us the plate. Despite $4 refill coffee, we had to ask for refills. The other dish was ok.

It's no insulation so it's really cold inside. We did receive large portions but as one previous post wrote, the quality doesn't equal the price. Some highlights are: the crab omelet does have a lot of crab and I really enjoyed the pancakes.

The most intense omelette ever is the Colorado. It is chock full of chopped up bacon, filled with a least half of an avocado all sliced up (not a dark spot) and topped with a big pile of fresh salsa. Also loved was the Crab Cake Benedict, sweet fresh real crab (only $4 more than a similar dish with half fake and half real crab), with a poached egg on a muffin. It may be the most expensive thing on the breakfast menu at $22 but worth it.

This 5 star has largely to do with our server that day who was amazing. (lost the recipe with his name!) It was a beautiful day out by the Lake and he was giving back to our vibes. We ordered a few drinks to start. The Hugo Spritz (light, bright and refreshing), and a Bloody Mary. Our server gave us two straws for the Bloody Mary and an extra stick of the picked veggies (thank you). For bites we got the bowl of Jeans Persian cucumbers, Oyako deviled eggs, and the Reuben Fries. Everything was tasty, but we both wish we should have asked for more of the Reuben sauce and sauerkraut. We also wanted the cheese slightly more melted and gooey but that didn't stop us from destroying it. It was the perfect afternoon to be visiting the Grand Lake Kitchen

Cute little bistro right across the street from the very scenic Grand Lake in Oakland. It’s very laid back and not fancy, which is what we were looking for. They had some nice cocktail options as well as some local craft beers, which hit the spot after a long day of traveling to the area. As an appetizer, we tried the fried zucchini, and it was perfectly fried and delicious. Try that out for sure! They have a good spread of menu options. We enjoyed our sandwich choices, including the Americana burger and their pulled pork special, plus their fries were very good. For dessert, we tried their mini cinnamon donuts, which were outstanding! Our server was super friendly and pleasant to talk to and a lot of fun, and all other servers we encountered seemed to really appreciate their customers. We were very happy with our selection to visit the GLK and would come back for sure next time we visit Oakland!

Great brunch spot! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and the place in general had a very relaxing weekend vibe. I absolutely loved the avocado toast—I'd definitely order it again if I return. The sourdough French toast was good too, though it wasn’t quite to my personal taste.

Greatly enjoyed brunch at GLK. The busy staff were all personable from the hostess to our waitress, Devina, who was a standout. All of the brunch items we tried were excellent--pastrami Benedict a highlight. Well prepared creative drinks. They deserve five stars, even though I was not happy about being seated in a small upstairs room by the bus station. Having made reservations three weeks in advance, for a specialt occasion, I feel we should have been given a table on the main floor or outdoor patio.

This place…wow amazing. Food was so incredible, so many balanced flavors…. Prices were so reasonable especially 3-6pm weekdays happy hour for drinks. Menu in my photos ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Service from everyone especially Virginia L was positive, fun and attentive. Good music at a volume you can still talk over Bathrooms clean, patio or indoor both a vibe. Best of all the food was delicious Bloody Mariah was stellar with homemade pickled toppings and a unique mix. The My bloody quarantine slushy was perfect for a hot day. Eco straws, great bartenders will definitely be coming back.

Had lunch here with my sister and we shared the steak and eggs which both were cooked to perfection! Came with a side of smashed home style potatoes which were crispy on outside and soft inside! Also had a side of the garlic knots which were okay but a good snack! Beer flights was affordable and perfect and pineapple mimosa was delicious! Would definitely be back. Also close to lake Merritt so beautiful for an afternoon or evening outing.

Good vibes here at Portal. Outdoor seating is the best place to be on a sunny day, but this time we sat inside since it was cold in the town. There are tv screens everywhere that has the games on there. It is perfect for Sunday footballs or early morning games mixed with brunch. The food was awesome and the drinks are great. The garbage bread was definitely one of the highlights for our brunch. It is a lot of food to share with the table. My favorite dish was the French toast. It had custard in between the toast. It was incredible. Servers were really nice and attentive. They all had a smile on their face as they helped us throughout.

Clear sky and the sun was shining, wanted to break bread with some old friend and we came across this place. Loved how this place opened up to a whole outdoor patio. Service was fantastic, food came fast (which I love), and the dishes were magnificent. I enjoy the little twist each place had, like the kimchi with the wings was a crowd favorite for me.If you’re in the neighborhood come pay them a visit, but I sure will.

Melvin and the owner were incredibly warm and thoughtful. Haven't been on this side of the lake in a while, so felt like seeing old friends. Melvin delivered kind service, honest and fun to talk to. Got a great seat by the windows overlooking the lake. Can't beat the view! Coffee was hot and mimosas were tasty. Very much enjoyed my Benedict, opted for scrambled eggs instead of poached. Can't wait to come back!

Amazing food, very well priced, however they were extremely understaffed the night that went (6/15). It took 20 minutes in between every single interaction, including grabbing drinks, placing orders, getting the check, coming back for the check, etc. the staff seems so cool and they are definitely over worked and I hope upper management can solve this issue!

Sorry this place is so overhyped! I got the potato pancake which was a special over the weekend- and what came out looks like a pile of shredded potato hashbrowns with some thinly sliced ham barely mixed in with scrambled eggs on top. For $24 and listed as a special over the weekend was especially a disappointing meal- potato pancake wasn't in any shape of a pancake, wasn't crispy at all. It was very bland. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

It was good! The service was amazing, super fast and attentive staff. Very cozy place. The price and portions are good. But, the food looked better than it tasted. I got the Marti’s special omelet with potatoes. It was ok. The coffee was not strong and tasted instant made. I wish you could customize your own omelet, it would be great!

First time at Marti’s. Mom and pop breakfast eatery. Offers various American breakfast entree as well as Mexican entree. Overall the food was delicious except that the home potatoes could be better - some potatoes were on the hard end so probably need to cook a little more. But it was flavorful, lightly crispy on the outside and not overly oily. I like the atmosphere since it wasn’t too loud and without any screens, it was great for kids compared to other breakfast locations on the island where it tends to be too loud, and without any screens all around.

Love this lil mom & pop diner. Food is mix of American & Mexican dishes. Workers are friendly and service is awesome! Very fast and crew is nice to talk to. Compliments to the chef because the food is always great!

I’m concerned about the quality of the food here. They served us molded raspberries and Burnt pancakes. The waitress apologized, removed the waffle with berries from our bill, and gave us a 10% discount. However, the raspberries are obviously molded yet they still served it to my 4-year-old son with the molded part buried inside the whipped cream making it hard to see. If I did not check it, he could have eaten all of it. Or if they served it to people with bad eyesight they would have eaten it too. The other berries are not fresh either.

We got here and sat down as instructed. Got our menus and ordered hot chocolate and our Marti’s scrambles and an extra waffle. Another party came in and sat down - they were loud as hell. That room is an echo chamber so if others are not using their inside voice, you’ll have to shout to be heard across the table. Dude was throwing around his weight. Their entire order came out and we were still waiting for our food. At least they remembered our drinks. The other party was almost done with their food. No one checked in on us. So we finally went to go ask where our food was (had to get up and go to the other room to the counter). Turns out they completely forgot our order. We paid for our hot chocolate and left, hungry and angry. Ended up going to Jim’s instead. I understand forgetting. But weren’t they wondering why we weren’t eating? Why we hadn’t ordered? Servers were constantly coming to the room but not one of them even bothered to check in. It wasn’t even busy for a Sunday, the place was barely half full. Once they realized we had been forgotten, they didn’t even bother to apologize. Yeah. I had been here a few times before and the food is just okay. Mediocre. Never coming back because the service sucks.

I love this place! I have been going here for over 15years. There was a change in ownership recently for the better! The head cook is also the owner. Food is sooooo good. I have had the chilaquiles and the huevos con chorizo. The service is very attentive. The atmosphere is homey. This place to me put Ole’s to shame. And it’s Latina owned which to me is important to support! This place is iconic! Yum! Go now! You will not be disappointed.

I love this place. I've been going here for many years. The bagels have just the right chew. The cream cheese is satisfying and the staff is professional and friendly. My go to bagel is the pumpernickel.

I really like house of bagels, I used to go to the one in concord and would pay $10 for my order and my sandwiches never disappointed, but I started going to the park street location and I hate to say it but they don’t quite compare. This location is very stingy with their meat. For $13 I would expect a better made sandwich.

0 stars for this place. 💯 I came here today with my husband. I am pregnant and wanted quick simple egg and cheese bagel 🥯. Got there the lady had a bad attitude and didn’t greet us. I ordered a hot dog bagel as well and she heated it up at the microwave. The worst the bagel I ever had! The bagels were stale, hard to chew and low quality. The atmosphere in there was cheap, dirty, dry and sad. She hit me up with overpriced bagels. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone and this type of business shouldn’t be running period.

It’s amusing that their cups display the words ‘espresso coffee’ because all their coffee drinks are cold brew, not espresso. Still good though, just different. They also serve some alcohol plus toasts and sandwiches. A great place to watch the boats sail by.

I came to this place years ago. I'm glad to see it's still around. They open after I get into work and they close before I get out of work so I'm never able to go . Their coffee is literally the best coffee in the Bay Area. We came in today after paddling in the harbor for a couple hours. We were happy to find shaded seats, alcohol, coffee and food. All right on the waterfront. There were a few mishaps with my order. Just one of those days. But the person in charge completely made up for it. They remade my food and were super nice about it. It was so good! I was exhausted and there was nothing better than crunching into that cucumber tomato bagel!! I bought some coffee on the way out. The price has jumped in the last few years I tell you... It's a little outside my price range but I could smell it in the car all the way home and I was so excited. I'm saving it for two when my family is coming to visit because the coffee is that special. Definitely enjoy a little serene bites to eat on the waterfront.

Booked the hot tub boat for 8:30 on a Sunday which was waaay out of business hours at Mosley's. But they went above and beyond taking our charcuterie order and leaving it with the hot tub boat staff. The board was nicely made out of fresh and clearly high quality ingredients. Definitely a 5 start experience.

A fun place to have a chai and a bit in the early afternoon on a beautiful day. They are next to the Grand Street Public Boat Launching Facility and inside the Grand Marina. Julie and Scott are there to make your hot bevy, and tasty dish to enjoy at one of their small but cute outdoor tables.

Food was amazing. More hole in the wall and breakfast based then the average Eritrean/Ethiopian restaurant, so the food caters more to single serving then the large platter. Different experience than many others of similar cuisine but I'll go again

This place is pure magic. I’ve been coming to Alem’s for a few years and finally tried branched out from the Ful to try the Fata. Needless to say it was incredibly and I should have branched out sooner! I don’t understand how food can taste so good. The folks behind the counter are the best and always earnestly want to know if you liked it. Come here after the farmers market on Sunday! You won’t regret it!

Prices at cafe are more expensive than prices listed here on available menu online. When I came and wanted to order a ham sandwich, they were out of ham and some other ingredients. Egg sandwich is not $8 as shown is actually nearly $12 and 6 oz cup of hot chocolate is bit expensive, nearly $5.

This small coffee shop carries Eritrean dishes in addition to coffee, sandwiches and pastries. Adjacent to the DMV, the cafe is slightly off the popular Temescal shopping area. It’s clear that the folks here care about the quality and authenticity of their dishes. You should not expect silverware but plastic utensils are provided if requested. The cafe is small but the indoor/outdoor seating atmosphere was great. If you’re as wimpy as I am, you can also tell them to dial down the spiciness of the dish when ordering. Weekend crowds attest to their popularity.

Fantastic breakfast!! We ordered the shihan ful and tibsy, and both were excellent. Very rich flavors, very fresh. Good, strong coffee. The owners were very kind, and the environment was very cozy. A very welcoming and lively atmosphere. This is a must try place for breakfast.

Tastes great, but this lid makes it nearly undrinkable. It’s too narrow and spills out the side of my mouth. It’s also sharp and uncomfortable. One could say I’m being dramatic, but at $7 for a cup of coffee I’d like to be able to drink it with ease. Please go back to the normal lids. I know Alameda requires no plastic but you can get perfectly good compostable plastic or paper ones

I love this coffee shop, I live pretty close and like to visit during the weekends when I take my walks. The staff is super friendly and I LOVE the pastries (ube muffin and everything scone are my favorites right now). The girl with the red and black hair served me and she was super sweet and gave me amazing recommendations. Definitely try this place out if you haven't already!!!

I've visited this coffee shop twice now, and unfortunately, both times were disappointing. There are usually about four people working, but it’s unclear what most of them are actually doing. Service is incredibly slow, with a line out the door and customers waiting over 15 minutes just for a drink. My order was wrong both times, and no one greeted me or acknowledged customers - except for the one person making drinks, who was the only friendly and efficient team member. The rest of the staff seemed disinterested and unmotivated. I read that the other location is way better so maybe the employees at the other location need to retrain the employees that work at this location? With poor service and a lack of hospitality, I can’t recommend this place.

What an awesome place! If I lived in Alameda I would definitely be a regular here. Signal is amazing! We were buying their coffee before this location opened its doors, and now we love sitting on the beautiful patio with a pastry and a drink. My one wish is that they used ceramic mugs for dine-in orders, but really delicious food and friendly staff.

Delicious empanada (cheese and onion, with tasty salsa) and latte (black sesame)! The foam on the black sesame was like lightly sweet marshmallow fluff -- and I mean that in the best possible way. They have some tables inside, a nice patio out back, and a few tables out front. Empanada was just the right amount of food for a filling breakfast.

Came in on a rainy afternoon. If you’re an Alameda local who appreciates good third wave coffee and espresso, just go to Signal or Highwire. The kid barista clearly does not know how to make a cappuccino. The milk is oversteamed and I’m surprised this cafe does not even bother with drink presentation. What is this matcha😭 I have worked as a barista for years and this is just really lazy work. The kids hired here are on their phones. The name of the place is appropriate for the service. Food and coffee not worth the price.

I visited again but missed out on the White Chocolate Matcha since they were closing soon. I tried the Ube crinkle and triple ginger cookies, and I preferred the triple ginger as the Ube flavor was mild. Their Pandan Latte remains the best I've had—I love the strong Pandan taste and would commute just for it. It's a cozy cafe, perfect for chatting with friends.

We visited a highly recommended coffee shop during the Art and Wine Festival. Despite the Saturday crowd, the line moved quickly, and I was called up within minutes. The shop had seating inside and outside, and it was dog-friendly, with many patrons bringing their dogs. My pandan latte was smooth, creamy, and delicious—one of the best I’ve had.

Hello viewers, I read about this cute little coffee shop - call Ladybird coffee on the newspaper, and love to give it a try. my impression of the coffee shop is to serve the crafted latte, pastries and a decent place to sit down. in lazybird coffee, the latte are done at the perfect temperature with the form, and variety of pastries that I feel are not made in kitchen (probably a store bought), and the place is definitely too crowed for a long sit down and work. mark my words, if you are coming for a nice cup of coffee to go, and good selection of the pasties. if you plan to come here for a afternoon work, I think you will find a nearby starbucks that suit you better. P.S - did I mention the first thing that catch my attention is - the birds put the coffee on his belly, 😆

The food and service were great. Fast, kind, and delicious. The interior space is definitely not a 5 atar dining experience. But for a place to sit and eat breakfast, it was fine. The selection was good, and the pastries were clearly made fresh. They did a great job making the food and drinks we ordered. Would definitely go back again.

Best bagels in the bay! Owned by a wonderful family, this is our favorite breakfast spot! The bagels are perfectly chewy and the cream cheese flavors are fresh and full of herbs. I recommend the tomato basil or chive!

This place sucks. Very dated bar raggedy. Customer Service was not good. Bagel was OK. I ordered Vietnamese iced coffee. It didn’t taste anything like you. Taste like regular coffee with sweet milk. They would not let me return or make me anything else. Very disappointing. Would not go back. Bummer

I've lived on the island for a decade and love this place for brunch. We always get a lox sandwich and BLT to go. The store always has a classic small town feel and staff are always friendly and seem to enjoy their work. I hope this shop continues to serve the community for a long time.

Good bagels and donuts on Park. We usually go early to avoid the mid-morning weekend rush and the lox bagel is underrated here. Service is usually pretty fast if they’re not slammed and parking early morning is easy. Peak times - not so much on Park but you knew that already.

We heard breakfast is good here, but came closer to noon. We didn't see any time limits on the menu so my husband got breakfast any way. He got the country scramble which came with generous portions. I got the California Club with side salad. It usually comes with fries, but I decided to skip the fries since I'm trying to cut back. Food is fresh, atmosphere has a fun nautical theme, staff are friendly. It appears they have a bubble drink and ice cream bar inside as well. Looks like it could be a fun hangout place, a grab and go option, or fun place to sit and enjoy a meal. Inside and outdoor seating are available.

Walked by this place and was curious, mostly because of the eclectic offerings of Chinese food, American diner breakfast and Boba Tea. All located in a pirate /nautical/seafood theme restaurant. Not sure what I was expecting but sadly the food was pretty terrible. Hollandaise was yellow vinegar and I think the ham was Spam? Really bad percolated coffee and long wait time. I'd compare it to Denny's. Also, there was a guitar player inside (on Sunday) who didn't actually play songs, but seemed to be practicing various melodies and jamming. His amp was very loud and we almost left because the "music" was more like noise pollution. Maybe the Chinese food would be better, but doubt it.

Kids friendly with ice cream soft serve ice cream that kids look forward to. A variety of food and definitely worth your money as they give a a lot. The pancake was as big as the plate it serves on and it's fluffy. The hotpot was paired with two full tray of beef. The staff was exceptionally friendly. So we had really enjoyed our time there which ends with ube and matcha soft serve. Please check them out and support them.

We’ve always been curious about this place but never really gave it a chance. We are so glad we did. The food was really good, the service, live music and great atmosphere. Sadly it was quite empty not making justice to what it offers. We’ll be back soon.

The owner of this place has set his establishment up to fail and that includes his hard working manager. I will no longer support this restaurant until the owner provides the proper kitchen, wait and server staff to handle its guests and their orders. Multiple times we have awaited over an hour for food, while the manager attempted to do his best to make up for the long wait time. Our most recent experience was this weekend. Moderate crowd for Mother's Day and waited over a a hour and twenty mins for food and when it was awful! The eggs Benedict looked like it was slipped out of a can and the pulled pork was anything but! When a family member went to speak with a server to share her concern, the female server snapped at her and asked, "did your dog die? Because THAT'S a problem!" Seriously! This is how your wait staff treats its guest?! And on Mother's Day of all days. Please do not waste your time, effort and money when the owner clearly does not care. Please enjoy many of the other fine establishments in this great town.

This tea garden is a charming spot with a serene ambiance. I ordered a sustainably-sourced tea, which was presented beautifully in a whimsical teapot display – such a delightful touch! The Salmon Toast was packed with flavor and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. However, the prices are noticeably higher compared to other fair-trade options nearby. While I enjoyed my visit and would happily return for a special treat, it might not become a regular stop for me. I will try again when warm enough to sit in back garden area!

It’s such a cute spot with really fresh & delicious food! The garden area in the back is so nice & relaxing. My friend & I started with an Oatmeal Coffee Cake and a Blueberry Muffin which were both so moist & flavorful. The Ginger Lemon brew (iced) was very refreshing & my friend’s Iced Vanilla Latte w/oat milk was so yummy! I also had to try the Baked Eggs w/ a side baguette & it was absolutely scrumptious, especially with the crispy cheesy edges 🤤 I will definitely be coming back!

Cute spot, and pretty decent (if not slightly pricey for the quantity) food. Unfortunately they must have had a meltdown in the kitchen today (Sunday), as both my friend and I's lunch order took 59 minutes to arrive. After checking in with the kitchen after 45 minutes, it was likely they didn't start until then. Would have been nice to understand a long wait at order time.

I usually come for a quick bite/drink and a long time ago came to study at Julie's. When I started looking for venues, I remembered how charming this little place was! I had a great experience with hosting a semi-private event in their garden for my sister's bridal shower. I had the ultimate vision in my mind and was able to execute it perfectly with Julie's! Their garden was already such a cute space that I was able to customize. Shannon their event coordinator was very flexible in offering me options to bring my idea to life. They offered various catering options with add-ons that would surely fit any event. The great thing is they have offerings for medium-large as well as small parties as well. We hosted 27 people and had half the garden to ourselves. We still felt like we had our own space and the service was great. Amazingly, all event details were all communicated via email. And in the day of, everything was exactly as we discussed. This is definitely a testament to the organization of their staff. They had the perfect afternoon tea menu to go with our event. Everyone raved about their garden, food, and experience. I would highly recommend julie's to anyone looking to host a small get together!

Great spot to work, read, or hang with some friends. They have really nice lattes and a plant filled garden in the back in addition to the front parklet. For the gluten free folks out there, they have food options for us too. Their menu is even labeled.

I don’t normally go to this location but I decided to give them a try. I usually get the 3 egg breakfast at the Nations on University and San Pablo those locations got it right. However this location was very skimpy with my hashbrowns on the the plate. I ordered a 3 egger which means 1.5 portion and unfortunately this location is serving the same size hashbrown portion of the cheaper 2 egger. Now for 18 dollars there should NOT be a shortage on ANYTHING on your plate. The staff was friendly and the dining area looked clean and bright. The cook need to learn the correct portions that the customers are paying for and stop skimping.

We held my son’s 7th birthday at Pacific Pinball Museum just 1.5 blocks away, and walked the party of about 25 people here for sliders and birthday pie. Cecilia and her team were wonderful. We had come by a couple weeks in advance to let them know we were planning to be there, and she reserved several tables for us. She even called the morning of to ask if we wanted her to pick up some table cloths for the party. Simply wonderful service, and the burgers and fries (and quesadillas!) were delicious. It can be a pain to have a dozen 7 year olds running around, but the staff (and other customers) were completely understanding. Thank you so much for making my son’s birthday six a memorable experience!

Good food in a place that still welcomes the dine-in experience with a very well-kept dining area with a good street view and a surprisingly large amount of seating, including a window-facing bar for solo diners The burgers are a good value, larger than what you get at comparable burger joints, just not as fancy. Join the club for deals. Desserts are delicious, and basically, a single serving is a double portion, so therefore not a bargain. This place gets overlooked with all the fancier options nearby, but it's a good choice, especially if you want to sit down and be full without spending a lot.

I love nations so much. The workers are always kind and create an environment that makes customers want to sit inside for hours. The Alameda location is definitely my favorite because of the workers. They never fail to make me smile. It’s one of the only places in alameda open late which makes it the perfect dining location.

The food here is truly delicious, and the pie is perfect. However, every time I come in, there always seems to be just one person running the entire place cooking, bussing tables, taking orders, ringing people up. It’s honestly hard to watch because it feels so unfair to put all of that on one employee. As a customer, it’s also uncomfortable to order knowing you’re just adding more work for them. Personally, I think it reflects really poorly on the management. They owe it both to their employees and their customers to staff the place properly. It shouldn’t be on one person’s shoulders to keep an entire restaurant going. Management seriously needs to do better and prioritize hiring more help. It would make the whole experience better for everyone.

Nations in Alameda is a sweet little gem. The food is fresh and cooked to order. I love getting burgers and sandwiches lettuce wrapped. I got lite on the dressing. The onion rings are some of the best onion rings I have ever tried. The staff is nice. Keep it up!

Smelled funny and was humid inside for some reason. The co-workers that we engaged with seemed very " hipster" and not very friendly. With all the other coffee places around, I find those places to be better. But, to each their own.

Once in a while I'll get a good barista that can make an iced vanilla latte, but usually it's some weird version with hardly any espresso, and that's after they have already messed up the order once. Peet's used to be a great coffee place, it's a bummer it's gone so down hill in the recent years.

I ordered delivery so I can’t review service or atmosphere. I ordered a cheese and pico de gallo omelette with hash browns and bacon. The hash browns and bacon were fine, but it seems like they cooked a basic omelette and then remembered they needed to add cheese and pico de gallo at the last minute. The cheese was thrown on top of the omelette and squeezed in between the folds and not fully melted while they just put the pico de gallo in its own separate container. The last time I ordered an omelette from them it was with cheese and onion and they actually cooked the cheese and onion into the omelette and it was great so today’s omelette was a big disappointment compared to what I know they can do.

I really enjoyed having lunch and watching golfers practice their swings. You can dine inside or outside. On a sunny day it’s nice to eat on the patio. The staff are very prompt, friendly and inviting. As soon as you sit they come and bring menus and water. Followed by your server. I forgot my servers name but she was really nice lady. She took our order and the food was served within 15 minutes!! I ordered a club sandwich that was just right. It was just enough of everything and didn’t fall apart. My coworkers ordered a Chicken Patty Melt and Cheeseburger. They said they enjoyed them both. And that they did because they both finished. The pricing is reasonable for a gold course!!

This place sucks! Got lunch delivered to our home. My sandwich had paper in it. I ate paper. Sandwich was prepared without removing the paper on the cheese. Yep. Ate paper today. I'm pissed. This isn't the first time either. But it is the last time. Response from Jim's on the Course was absolutely unprofessional. First guy hung up. Second guy wouldn't take responsibility. Third person just hung up again. Blaming doordash solves no problems when Jim's on the Course prepared the food. This is so wrong!

Set on Corica Park GC, Jims is a nice place to grab lunch or a bite after a round of golf. The menu and food is good. I seem to gravitate toward the gyro. It's so good. It's set just off the 9th green of the South Course and has indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is really awesome if you like families and children around. It's a wonderful community spot that I enjoy when I come to play golf. The staff is always kind and courteous.

Great experience eating here, seating is self served, menu is simple but they allow a lot of customization to your order. I got the 8 peice French toast with an egg and hasbrowns on the side, they have very good portions and I left with some leftovers to go. They also gave me my own pitcher for coffee which was cool. Overall the weather was great being outside with a slight breeze and being nice and sunny. There's also plenty of indoor seating as well if that's what you prefer. Bathrooms for the area were also very well maintained and clean. It was about 30$ for just myself also so keep that in mind. I have pictures of the front and back of the menu also.

I came in today around 1:45pm and I ordered two fraps which I waited around 15 mins for and once our name was called we grabbed our drinks and were waiting for straws when I see straw to my right so I reach for two straw and I ask the girl behind me ( a stranger ) if she also needs a straw bc she is also waiting for straws for her drinks that obviously needs straws. The rudest barista I didn’t get her name but she had bangs comes and she goes “next time give me a shout if you need a straw” obviously I’m gonna need straws my drinks are fraps she proceeds to say “that’s why they’re behind the counter it’s alameda county you need to ask for straws” like if I’m stupid or something . prior to that a man who was waiting for his drink told her “why are you being so rude to your customers?” But she responded even ruder so I’m not sure if they knew eachother and they were just playing around but either way she was very unprofessional and rude.

I’ve stopped by this Starbucks location twice, ( before many times but now the staff was so bad) and unfortunately both times the staff made me feel extremely unwelcome. Their attitude felt dismissive and disrespectful—as if I didn’t belong. As a customer, I expect basic kindness and professionalism, not to be treated differently based on how I look or speak. “Oh sorry I can’t pour on your personal cup, I give you a cup.” ( so what do you mean? My cup was dirty? Or our looks is Asian and English is not like American). Second time: They gave drinks but no straw, I asked for straw very politely but they look at me with bad look. I’m still patient and wait , she still let me waiting without no word. After while, she asked me what? And gave me with the face was not happy. The shop at that time was not really busy. This kind of behavior is disappointing and unacceptable.

My recent visit to Starbucks was such a disappointment. The staff was completely unorganized, and the security guard was incredibly rude, constantly giving judgmental looks. There’s no restroom in the lobby, which is frustrating, and I received the wrong order. The garage smells awful, and the officer who’s supposed to be there is never around. Overall, it was a frustrating and unpleasant experience.

Order an iced lavender coconut latte. Took a sip and realized something was funky, either milk had went bad or something was wrong. I told the Barista very nicely that something was funky and their response was just incredibly rude and combative. Slamming the drink around acting like I had personally insulted them or something. I was just very shocked and off put. I said that's okay, nevermind and just left without my $9 w/tip drink rather than deal with the rude behavior. So I paid for a drink, tipped well, was polite when they gave me a spoiled product, and still got treated like garbage. Just sad to see how little people care about treating people kindly or a job well done or basic respect these days.

Super rude barista i came to ask for a straw for venti iced drink, she was rude and gave me the wrong one and walked awat. Not a problem, i waited and asked for venti. She said that’s just what they gave out and walked away with a mad look on her face and was visibly annoyed at me for asking for a tall enough straw. I didn’t even say anything rude. Attitude and mean for no reason. I simply asked for a tall straw in a nice way. Not coming back to this location.

Staff doesn't pay attention to details. Music is too loud, hard to hear anything. Old lady working at the counter was mean. She insisted I said the wrong order. If the music was not too loud, she would have hear what I said. And may I add, all of them have frown face. Not even a single smile. This location need to do better. Oh, dear, I never thought I’d say this about Starbucks of all places, but my recent experience was just awful! The staff is completely unorganized, and no one seems to know what they’re doing. And that security guard? Rude doesn’t even begin to describe it! He’s always looking at people like he’s judging them, and I couldn’t help but feel treated differently. It’s truly unacceptable. The whole store feels chaotic. There’s no restroom in the lobby, which is just outrageous, especially when you’re out running errands. On top of that, they gave me the wrong drink and the wrong order! Navigating the store was a headache, and the garage? Oh my, it stinks to high heaven! To make things worse, the officer that’s supposed to be in the garage is never there when you need help. Starbucks, you’ve really let me down this time!

THE WORST STARBUCKS IN ALAMEDA! The customer service is horrible! Asked for a straw and was told “I’m not on shift yet”. I found a hair in my lid! Gross! I promptly threw that coffee away. Probably because employees with long hair don’t put it up properly, which should be required! Lots of scowling, unfriendly staff who treat customers as a nuisance.

I have always had positive experiences at Starbucks, which is why I feel the need to speak up about the repeated negative encounters my fiancé and I have had at this particular location. There is a young woman who works here. She wears glasses and is consistently rude and unprofessional. Every time my fiancé or I have interacted with her, she has displayed an attitude. She speaks under her breath and seems visibly annoyed when handing out orders. Her overall demeanor is unwelcoming and makes the experience unpleasant. This has happened on multiple visits, which suggests that it is not just an isolated incident. I would appreciate it if this could be brought to the attention of management. Decent shop, friendly people, easy location with good parking. Both bathrooms were fairly trashed. Still working, just dirty. Surprising since Starbucks usually is on top of such things. Still a good place to stretch your legs have a drink and relax for a little bit. Several comfortable chairs and workspaces with laptops

Venti drink didn't come filled to the top. When I tried to get their attention they didn't want to help because they were closing early. This was a mobile order. A time before that the barista wiped his nose with his hand and I had to ask him to wash his hands and make my drink over. I think God is telling me to stop going there.

I travel to many countries for work and stopped this location. It’s clean inside and outside, fast service. The chicken sandwich was a little flattened and seemed premade vs made to order. The fries 🍟could of used about 20 seconds more in the fryer as some were a little raw and limp. I also noticed they don’t salt the fries? Maybe for health reasons in the USA ? Also they dont sell different sizes of fries. I asked for a packet of salt. They ran out of Coca Cola. Connected to the complimentary WIFI 🛜 but it does not work. It was fine for the experience at this location but will not return.

The service is excellent, and the staff works quickly. They are very friendly. There is a nice play area for kids, but they need to improve the cleanliness of the tables.

This is probably one of the most pleasant McDonalds I've been too. One of the managers (a guy with curly hair) is always very attentive and will actually ask you if everything is alright or if you're waiting he'll check on you order for you. The view of the bay and hills makes for a wonderful backdrop as well. 👍🏿

they are taking advantage of having customers park in the mobile customers designated area to throw off the numbers of the timers because they make you wait and then they clear the orders from the computer and still my order wasn’t correct after waiting 15 minutes plus. do better work harderoen faste

This McDonald’s is in great location and right next to beaches and most convenient place to stop by to eat. Visited today and oh dear God. Waiting for so long , half of my order was missing and chicken sandwich was so dry with 2 slices of pickles on it and nothing else. And again waiting in the line to get some ketchup, thank you but not again.

I was in the mood for a Mcflurry, so my sister and just popped into the drive thru and out, enjoy our Mcflurry. I had the Oreo and she had the new one that looked like stores with chocolate, marshmallow and Graham crackers? You'll just have to go there and find out.

Ordered a dine in meal at kiosk, took a number and waited. Employee seemed mad I didn't immediately hear him yelling my number as I thought it would be brought to table. Everything packed to go. While eating other employee was cleaning and sprayed cleaner on table inches from my food and sweeping under our feet while we tried to eat.

The food is good but don't get their milkshakes. Everytime we get a milkshake, they weren't very good. The whipped cream looked curdled as well as the milkshake itself.

We were visiting from out of town, so first time at this location. The guy who took our order was very nice. We ordered 4 of the $5 jack meals. Everything tasted good and fries were fresh. Dining room was a little dirty when we sat down, but a worker was starting to clean. Before leaving my daughter had to use the restroom bad but someone was in the restroom, so the kind employee that took our order let us use the employee restroom. My husband and son were waiting for us. While we were in the restroom someone started knocking very hardly like they were the dang police. I said one moment. They then start to knock again loudly. Like WTH. Come to find out it was a female manager who was wearing a light pinkish red shirt and was rudely asking what we were doing in the employee restroom. Even though my husband told her that her employee gave us permission to use the restroom because the other one was being used. I got better treatment and service from the male worker who took my order. How is this lady a manager?

I came early morning from work, and ordered many things, food was best, no doubt, but that cashier didnt give a big bag for carrying 2 small bags, he said its for mobile orders, next visit ill ask again, sir may i have the bag assigned for mobile app orders for my take out order...

Went through the drive thru. They were fast and friendly. The large drink is huge. Unfortunately, I know from experience that their paper straw won't last as long as my soda. Hope I have a backup somewhere in my car.

I will absolutely never go back to this location. The service was the absolute worst. I had a few mobile app orders I did. The food was decent but the Shakes had hairs in them. The staff refused to do anything about it. When I asked for some sauces, I was told I would have to pay for them. Even though I didn't get any sauces with my food. The lobby area was disgusting. Dirty tables with food scraps all over the floors. This has to be the absolutely worst location I've ever been to.

I’m new to Cali so it was my first time trying Jack in the Box, but I can honestly say this is my favorite fast food restaurant. The prices are little high, but the food is good when it’s fresh and hot! I got the the double Jack burger with cheese, two tacos, fries and French toast sticks. I had to sample it all. The ladies at the counter were very friendly. It was a mostly clean restaurant—no one else dining in but me. The only thing though is the bathrooms at this location. Because of the homeless population it was very nasty. Other than that, this is one of the better locations I’ve been at!

Well I've been going to Jack in the Box for almost 50 years now and I've been through some of the changes over the years. And nothing quite beats the good ole days when fries were real fries and getting 2 tacos for 99¢ I'm not one for change much but I know what to order when I do go to eat. Either I get number 14 no cheese and onion rings instead of fries or I get a jumbo Jack no cheese and onion rings. Sometimes I will get tacos and that's about it. Great job guys 👍🏻

Love this place! The food is very fresh and hot! They have amazing and kind staff who work hard to get my food made in just about 8-10 minutes! The only think I think would make it better is the price, but this place is amazing!

Placed the order at 1:30pm, which the app estimated the order would be ready in 10 mins. Arrived at 1:39pm and my order was already ready for pick up. All extra sauces requested were there. In short, accurate order during lunchtime.

It's disgusting. Even by fast food standards. Like I don't expect much it's jack in the box but they handed me a bag of the BBQ curly fries and the bag was so saturated with sauce LEAKING out of it that it went through the bag and got all over me and the inside of the car. Go eat garbage it'll be less greasy than what you get from here.

I went through the drive thru and the lady taking the order July 2nd around 7pm was extremely rude. I started of by asking for #13 and she immeditaly cuts me off and procceed to say in very aggresive and confrantetional manner to not yell at her. I ignored that comment and procced to order my food as I can tell she was being rude. I speak spanish and english and could here her talking spanish in the back to coworkers so i continued to order in spanish once she asked for my size I said "large" and she rudly confronted me about speaking spanish corretly and pronoucing it in spanish and not english. She didnt stop there she also said that I need to learn to make my mind up. I was very shocked and disappointed at how I was being treated that I decided to cancel and go inside to speak with management. Management did nothing, horrible expierence cant imagine how they talk to other people. Do not recommend coming here at all. Ironically I seen a video of her in another review shes the lady in the back with the headset and added the screen shot. Ive been coming to this spot for years and never been treated like this Jack in the box do better!

I went on Monday July 21, 2025 and got a salad with crispy chicken and a coffee boba drink and it tasted so bad and the salad made me get sick with nauseous and stomach issues and that was the last thing I ate and that made me really sick

So I walk-in and ordered my beverage with Matt, terrific service. However, when I got my order, the gentlemen with the metallic necklaces served a hot cup of lemonade and the two bag on top of it..... If I was honestly served like this, I mind as well go home and grab a cup of lemonade and nuked in the microwave and grab my own tea bags. This is one of the many reason why I'm personally lose faith with Starbucks. Because when I got to my workplace, it was already colddddddd. So I wanted to make sure if that this is the "right way" of serving a medicine ball and the manager said No and offered me a new one. I refused because it might been a one time thing and due to the Rush some drinks we're probably missing / wasn't made and I didn't want to make your employees even more stressed out. So hopefully if I come in next time, They can make the drink right way accordingly to the manager and Starbucks as a whole

Great location with outdoor seating area. Real nice! Wish they clean the tables every morning. I felt like that I worked for them since I had to bring the wet napkin to clean the sticky tables and chairs and wiped out left over crum. By the way, some of the receptionists weren't very friendly. And some of them often forgot to give a 10 cents credit when bringing my own mug. Moreover, she/he often got irritated when reminded. Such a sad story happens in such a great facility from time to time. I did notice the senior staff (looked like the person who was more of in charge) was often courteous and friendly professional. Updates on 2018-6-2: Since my last review, this joint has put quite an effort to clean up the outdoor seating area. The chairs are now lighter and easy to repositioning without annoying noise. Tables are now cleaner. Garbage cans are cleaned before it’s full. It’s very enjoyable. Thumb 👍👍👍👏👏👏😍!!! Update on 2019-3-15 I’d like upgrade this ☕️ joint to 5 stars status. 3 out of 4 times they mess up some aspect of my drinks. I'll be missing whipped cream on a frap, cinnamon toppings. Today they gave me the whole wrong drink and I didnt notice until i got to my house. The sticker was the correct drink but the drink in the cup was wrong. Half of the time the drinks come out good and the other half no matter if i add extra pumps of syrup it tastes like theres no sugar flavoring in it. I will say however anytime i go there I am greeted promptly and everyone is very friendly. Customer service is great..... the drinks not so much.

Really a cup of milk as oatmeal with no spoon no sugar no nuts no berries coffee was just milk I ordered a brown sugar latte and I get milk disgusting and when I called they acted like they did no wrong

Starbucks with typical Starbucks food and coffee. Service is faster than other locations. No seating inside, but nice area to sit outside.

Out of all other Starbucks on the island, this is not my favorite. The store frequently looks unkept and the service isn’t always the best. But there’s ample parking, it’s conveniently located next to the gas station and many stores - park once and get a lot of errands done all in one place and then fill up on the way out. There’s also a large outdoor patio- perfect on a hot day while out with your doggies.

Baristas are very nice and attentive here. I always order ahead, come in and pick up. This last visit, altho the store was busy, the gal asked if I had wanted whip cream. She multitasked, adding whip cream and more nutmeg to the top. One of the best Starbucks around this area. Nice little spot near Nob Hill shopping center in Alameda. Has outdoor seating for the warm weather. Close by the "river" area of Alameda, nice to walk around or even jog.

I came here because it's close to the Research Park, where I work. They have a vegan bagel sandwich, the Rachel Hummus - it has sprouts, onions, hummus, and cucumbers inside. Mine came with a generous amount of sprouts and hummus, and also a pickle on the side, so it was reasonably filling, and it tasted pretty good. They don't have vegan cream cheese at the moment, and there's only limited seating inside (and a couple outdoor seats).

Delicious bagels—perfect texture and you can tell they were freshly baked. Their breakfast bagel sandwiches are so tasty and the perfect way to start a weekend morning. The bagels are one of the best bagels I’ve had in the Bay Area. The service is great as well and they are always so friendly. Highly recommend!

Got all my orders wrong, ordered through the app, extra lettuce and did not get it. Asked for well done fries, got soggy undercooked fries, they even missed my chicken nuggets and I had to call them back to the window to give me the missing food items. Terrible service, terrible quality, definitely not at McDonalds standard.

This is by far the slowest McDonald’s I have ever been to. As a delivery driver, I waited over [insert wait time, e.g. 30 minutes] just for a simple order. The staff completely ignored delivery drivers — no acknowledgment, no updates, nothing. We’re doing our jobs too, and this level of service is just unacceptable. If you’re a customer in a hurry or a delivery driver, I highly recommend avoiding this location.

Friendly staff. Nice and clean restaurant. Ordering was easy on of their four self serve kiosks. Food was delivered to table fairly and tasted fine.

Ordered the McDonaldland meal and was given some yellow chicken toy and not the passport. After confirming that they had the passport in stock. Workers had no idea what the promos were or anything. Do better.

They give terrible portions in tiny "eco-friendly" bags and have cheap paper straws. Their attitude is consistently poor if you have mistakes with an order that need to be corrected.

Food was as expected for a mcd at 3-4 stars. What brought it down to 2 is no drink refills as the machines are behind the counter. Probably won't come to this one again unless it's an emergency. Location is clean. Down to 1 star as Nugget orders were all missing sauce. This location also has the crappy paper straws where 3 are needed as they disintegrate easily.

DO NOT GO TO THIS MCDONALDS YOUR CARD WILL BE SKIMMED, I had no issue with my debit card but after a single visit to this Mcdonalds location in Alameda a day after my card was used for a transaction that I did not make. This was the only place I physically handed my card to a cashier.

The Beanery is one of my go-to spots for coffee! The coffee here is always smooth and delicious. I really enjoy their iced and hot oatmilk lattes. Great value for the quality and staff are friendly and efficient.

This is a popular place and it’s no wonder! I have been buy their medium roast house blend coffee by the pound for years. It robust, smooth and delicious. I make my coffee in a percolator and it’s the best. Everything I’ve tried from their baked goods sandwiches has been very good. I mostly go there just for the coffee, however. The staff and service has always been consistent and courteous. I always recommend The Beanery coffee to all my friends.

Breakfast panini is made to order and hot, not always the case so appreciated. The order taker was slightly impatient as this is my first time here and I don’t know this is customizable and didn’t see the options posted. I just said yea to the first 3 things she listed to make it easy: egg, bacon, spinach. It came with provolone cheese.bread was fresh and crusty but no taste and sandwich is fine. Large drip coffee is $3.25 for 20oz and I got dark toast - good. Fine option if you are in the area. Lots of locals here.

My first time at Beanery of Alameda. Enjoyed a ham and cheese croissant with a caramel frappe! The food was beyond delicious and the frappe was so smooth👏🏼 Last but definitely not least, kuddos to the hospitality. It was so warm and inviting. I can’t wait to visit again all the way from FL.

It was my first time coming here, and what I like is that I’m supporting a local mom/pop when I have a boba or popcorn chicken fix! I feel like their milk tea is pretty good quality. I like the fact that they don’t add ice which means the pearls stay soft and chewy just the way I like them! My husband’s ube drink was good as well! I like their spicy popcorn chicken, pretty delicious and crunchy! I was hoping I’d get the basil but perhaps they just forgot this time, no big deal! I will still return! When you order a drink and snack, you get $1.00 off! Their prices are reasonable! Please continue to patron, and support local. You’re supporting a family and perhaps a high school college student learning the value of hard work. . Dropped in here yesterday during a citywide event with blocked off streets. The staff were so sweet to everyone coming in looking for a cool drink and snack. My daughter loved her watermelon slushy because it’s an unusual flavor and I appreciated my cappuccino slush - wasn’t too sweet and I was able to sub oatmilk in. Enjoyed garlic bread and tempura shrimp. Of important note (for me) it was super clean! The tables, floors and chairs were surprisingly clean which isn’t always the case in similar locations. We’ll definitely be back

This place is SO SLEPT ON! This review is only for the popcorn chicken. Ever since I moved from SoCal to the Bay Area, I’ve been trying to find a popcorn chicken spot that meets all my requirements: has to have basil, use chicken dark meat, super crispy, fresh, consistent, and reasonably price. This is THE SPOT! And the pricing is so good especially in this economy. Half size is decent portion for $7.55 and Full size is $10.25. The service is as good as it gets - people generally do takeout. You order on the monitor outside or can do mobile order, and they’ll text you when your order is ready, which really helps if you’re struggling to find a parking spot. Parking is typical in Chinatown - it’s usually bustling and packed but no one is going to give you shit if you emergency park on the street haha. The inside of the place has some snacks and candy. You CAN sit down and eat there but it’s not the best dining spot and there’s a lot of clutter. In my opinion, drinks and boba are pretty mid. It does the job but nothing amazing. My go-to spot for popcorn chicken though ❤️

We ordered drinks on our walk around Chinatown. They have a great selection of drinks that you order at the entrance through touch Street. Not only do they have the classic teas they also have smoothie and I got the avocado shake. The building which the store is located in is architecturally significant. They have seating inside but no bathrooms. They also sell asian snacks.

I am regular customer but this is my first time to buy the fruit tea drink. Unbelievable that one costed $6.65 without topping because I checked on their website is about $4. If I knew that much I better prefer order from I-Tea. I just bought today from I-Tea only $6.50.
