Simple place with superb food. We had the opportunity of having the chef/ owner, Alfredo, taking care of us. He sat with us, asked what we liked and wrote in a paper a menu for his assistant. All he chose for us was really good.

This was my first time eating here and it was excellent! I didn’t know that you could split entrees. My first server explained this and I opted to not split my plate. However, a second server came out and thoroughly explained the benefits of split my plate to try different things. She made suggestions on what would pair well with my original choice. I’m glad she convinced me to try different things. It was amazing! Flavor was off the charts! I’ll definitely visit again and recommend to anyone.

If you're in San Luis Potosí, you *have* to eat here. The food will blow you away, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is awesome. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

This place was interesting. We got in and ordered a cappuccino and a latte and were looking at the menu to order. I wanted eggs and chilaquiles and my wife wanted an omelette. Out of nowhere a man came over and sat at our table without asking permission. I asked him if he needed something from us and he just talked over us. He asked me if I had any food allergies and I said no. Then he asked my wife the same question. He was talking in English as if he had known us all his life. He called the waitress and gave her an order, and talked with us some more. Asked us questions about our origins and made comments about the locations. Then he got up and left. I found out from the waitress that he was the owner. Later another waitress came over with two plates and lots of food. She put it in front of us and left. We ate some of it but in the end we left most of the food on our plates. I only liked a few items and my wife ate a bit more than me but left plenty on her plate. The bill was pretty high compared to what we are used to for breakfast. The owner went above and beyond on our breakfast selections. We paid double the amount of our regular breakfast selections. It made me very upset. Not only we did not order our food but the owner ordered for us and got plenty of food on our plates. We paid and as we were leaving we found him again and he asked with a smile how the food was. I said it was okay and wanted to say I had a lot better but my wife stopped me from finishing my sentence. It has been a while and it still bothers me what happened to us at this restaurant. It has a high rating but to me it was not good food. I don't know why the owner likes to do that to people but I can say for sure that we are never coming back to this place again. I rate our experience 2 stars. Never again. 😵‍💫🤢🤢

Today, I had the chance to speak to the owner Alfred who took the time out of his busy schedule to share a few kind words with me, recommending me his 'best breakfast in the world'. Now, while it personally was maybe #3 in the world for me, it definitely was #1 in San Luis! This place reminded me of my time in Sicily, where everything was old school, yet great food and customer service. It's also far bigger in the back with some nice design and atmosphere of playing musicians. If I had to leave some feedback, it was the lack of public WiFi and the fact the place had no QR codes to leave ratings across TripAdvisor, Google and Apple Maps, only links to their FB/IG pages. I would also add photos of select food to their menu to highlight the best selection. Also, as the other reviewers here pointed out, Alfred the owner should stop trying to push his customers (especially foreign) to buy his most expensive 210 MXN 'Clásico con 4 porciones' meal to increase push his margins. He didn't even show me the item on the menu prior to 'ordering it for me' which I felt a bit disingenuous. This will likely lead to decreased ratings over the long term. Instead, in his place I would clearly introduce myself as the owner, then ask the customers if they would like the local recommendations or not instead of feeling pushy. For that, I am taking off one star. Overall, it's become my favorite restaurant here in less than a day and will definitely go back again, hopefully to come across Alfred another time. Thank you for making me feel welcome!

Very interesting restaurant. We placed our order then the chef/owner came to the table and completely changed the order telling us he was hoing to cook us the best breakfast we've ever eaten. It was very good.

Wow everything is authentic and soo good! My favorite dish was the chilaquiles followed by the mole and cold coffee drinks!

This was a really nice restaurant. It boasts a patio area but it was covered when we visited because of the weather. The atmosphere is very hacienda like and very roomy. Food was good and service was beyond great. Located near the historic plaza. Drinks were strong and flavorful.

The best thing about this place is location. It is downtown adjacent to a public parking place. Most places downtown don't have road access or parking space from away from it. This restaurant is more commercialized. The waitress insisted I get a buffet after telling her several times I wanted to order from the menu, she seemed irritated. The Huevo in Chile cascabel was not very good neither was the bolillo which surprised me. The menudo was good. The waitress was grumpy.

It was worst food in whole trip in Mexico. My husband ordered Milanesa de res and I ordered Sopa de Mariscos. The Milanesa de res was burnt on the outside and tough on the inside, Sopa de Mariscos was it contained 2 shrimp, some fish, some finely chopped octopus, carrots, potatoes, green beans, and clams. More than half of the 5-6 clams did not open their mouths, and the rest had almost no meat. The food was really poor in the price. I don't recommend this restaurant and never want to go back. 👎👎👎👎👎

Fairly good place. Not the fastest service but the food is good, the staff is friendly & polite, and the price is super fair & good. Nonetheless, during my visit they allowed for outside people to solicit the tables for "some help for a sick guy who is outside" and stuff and that really brought my whole experience down. On the other hand, I hope my review is fair to the restaurant itself since allowing the solicitor to come in and approach the tables is management decision and that should not give you the impression you won't have a good meal here. My Chiles en Nogada were awesome. I did not give money to the guy.

Place was clean and server very attentive. Food bland NO flavor. The plate “bandeja Potosina “ specified for 2 people but had mini sized food. Drinks awful. Bolillo or pan blanco hard like a brick.

An excellent restaurant! We love it so much, that we ended up eating every single day here. Super cheep, buffet was 25 dollars for 2 people, food was home made, and excellent service!!!. I couldn't believe how luxurious and high class the place was for the price we pay. I would have give 5 stars, but there was an incident. we left and before 30 minutes had passed we decided to go back to the restaurant so we can use the restrooms there since we just eat there. But the personal had been instructed from the maneger, once you are left,, you are not allowed to go back in to use the restrooms. I thought that was a bit to strict 😕. Why would you denied to people who just have pay money to eat there. It's just to strict for been such a wonderful place. Hope the the management see my post and change things a little bit. Because is not fare to denied entrance for a necessity that we all have. We all eat and have to go 😏..

As a tourist, this was a beautiful place to stop for a peaceful lunch and a break from the heat. Located just off of Plaza de Armas, the food and service here are good. The vibes are perfect. FOOD They offer complimentary bread for the table as well as bring sauces, butter, and other condiments. Our entrees that we ordered were brought out to us probably around 25min or so. Pollo con mole had great flavor in the mole but the chicken was a bit dry. SERVICE Our server did not speak English, and we did not speak much Spanish. We managed though, and they seemed nice enough. VIBES As I said, this is what is amazing. High ceiling. Airy. Natural lighting. Natural air. A tree growing in the center of the restaurant. I love it! Not a fan of the bathroom though. The lighting is too dim and the large metal doors there make it feel like you're in a prison-themed escape room.

Very good food, service was poor we waited more than 45 minutes to get our plates. The servers who are plenty but seem like they were not a team and we weren't able to get what we wanted in a timely manner.

This is a beautiful restaurant in the heart of the historic district by the state government palace and cathedral. I went a few times. The food was great each time, but the service was horrible. They just need to hire more service. It ruined the overall experience.

Presentation and food was very good. The restaurant was 😍 beautiful. They had their own bartender which provided the best mezcal cocktails all were very good! The only thing I would say is if you have a large party, let your waitress know before hand that you want to split orders before ordering.

It remains as wonderful and enjoyable as our first experience here. This time we had the opportunity to meet the chef, Taurino Galván. Many of the ingredients and the bread used at the restaurant come from the Huesteca region of the state of San Luis Potosí, which explains the unique flavors found in the meals. Chef Taurino explained the different meals and ingredients to us which made me appreciate the food from the Huesteca region even more. This restaurant is featured in the 2023 edition of Guía México Gastronomico, listing the top 250 restaurants in the country. This is the only restaurant in the state of San Luis Potosi mentioned in this guide. The food remains very flavorful; the plates feature generous portions and the service remains excellent. We have eaten out at several places in this part of the city but we come back to Rincón Huesteco every time. We plan to bring our friends from other parts of the country to this restaurant to experience the unique flavors, warm hospitality and beautiful murals featured in this restaurant.

Easily the best restaurant I have been in San Luis Potosí. The salad I had was probably my favorite salad I’ve ever had. My mango oj banana juice was perfect too. Service was great. The view is great. Can’t wait to go back.

A great place to have breakfast or brunch! Starting with the owner greeting you and making sure you’re totally welcomed! Staff is on there toes to ensure you get more than what you expect, food is superb ( pictures say more than words) every dish is not only supervised by the chef but as well as the owner with his special ingredients and care! Oj’s are incredible combinations of the freshest fruit from local to non local. The hot chocolate is by far the richest and tastiest around. The homemade bread you cannot get anywhere else. The ambience is antique with rustic which is enhanced with a glass wall looking towards the city! Always a must when you come to San Luis!

I love this place, Im working my way through the menu, most dishes are good. Few are great. I love the eggs benedict (recommended). Theres a middle eastern influence in some of the dishes that I love. The setting is excellent with a view to the city from the patio. Place is always full so come early. You will not be disappointed. Trust me!

The food wasn't very good. I ordered " chamorro and they served me a lamb leg instead. The plate needs more sauce and salt. The tortillas were dry. On the other hand, the restaurant was built on the space of an old movie theater. The owner of this place doesn't incorporate the beautiful structure of the movie theater that is a gigant shell. Instead, he demolished all the place and left it for the parking lot. You can still admire this gigant shell into the parking lot. It is a shame that " The Avenida Movie Theather was lost forever 😢

We had a very good lunch here! We got the daily offering which included cactus soup, slaw, cold macaroni salad, one of three main courses from which I chose the tostadas, a rice pudding dessert and coffee would have been included if we had wanted it! All for 105 pesos. Good service and parking is available inside what was the old theatre (which is a shame, but there is parking!)

This place is perfect for breakfast, brunch and dinner. The food I've tried so far has been more than great. Prices are accessible and there's enough variety to try. They also offer buffet service which is inexpensive and a great option specially in the morning. The only thing I'd suggest working on is serving time, it usually takes a while but it's worth it.

The mole is very good. They use traditional mole from Puebla. I recommend the huevos de mesón for breakfast. The chilaquiles con mole is also very good. If you order a jar of flavored water, it should last for about 4 people. You can also buy mole to make at home.

Great food, the pineapple agua was fantastic as was our enchiladas we ordered. We asked for some cheese crumbled in top for a little extra pizzaz. Salsas and chips that come with the meal were great too!

The attention to the customer is great. The restaurant offers many vegetarian options, like the omelette, the egg "a la mexicana", chilaquiles with egg, the "quesadilla especial con champiñones" (special quesadilla with mushrooms), among others. The gastronomy of Puebla is very delicious in this place, where customers get to taste delicious Mexican traditions.

1st trip- This is my new favorite restaurant in SLP. The quality of the food surpassed my expectations. We had a quiche and a chilaquiles. Both were excellent. It’s not a very kid friendly place but that’s pretty normal for us.” 2nd trip On my second trip I got horribly horribly sick from the cochinita pibil in the Chilaquiles. It had a little bit of an off flavor. Within a few hours, my stomach was feeling horrible and bloated. I was vomiting and had diarrhea and was on the verge of hospitalization. This was the only food I had eaten that day so I’m 100% sure I got sick from the food from here. This was the sickest I’ve ever gotten from any food in my entire life. It was horrible

The restaurant is best and it has a very pleasant atmosphere, with an elegant style. It counts with the temperature check and antibacterial gel at the entrance. The menu is huge and offers a variety of delicious breakfasts. Chilaquiles, molletes, garnachas, sopes are some Mexican options, but there is also croque madame and other international dishes. All is tremendously delicious.

The space is nice, great for sitting and doing work for the day. The chai (tea leaves) wasn’t so great we didn’t try the powder because it’s usually too sweet and not really chai. The matcha frappe was quite, the whipped cream is a bit on the thick side, but I would order it again. Now to save the best for last, the Wrapp de Pechuga was absolutely delicious. If you’re super hungry you might need two, because the serving size is small, but it’s absolutely worth it - even the fries were good. Lol The service was also pretty good!

Bit disappointed, I came with my friends for breakfast everything was going well until we ordered. One of the sauces was due, one of my friends asked for not overly cooked eggs but got them over cooked anyway cuz the waitress didn't pay attention. We asked for the bill and the waitress never came so after 20 minutes waiting we went to pay directly to the cashier.

Their pastries at La Polska, San Luis Potosi are among the finest available here. While they may not quite match the authenticity of those in Europe, they come pretty close. Some beloved choices among my family include pain au chocolat, croissants, and traditional conchas. Finding top-notch pastries here makes me happy. However, I consistently face an issue with the front desk staff's slow service during my visits. Despite their friendliness, it takes an unnecessarily long 10 minutes to put food in a paper bag, and it would be great if they could speed up this process.

An amazing selection of products to ensure your pallet finds its craving. European style breads; focaccia, croissant, sourdough breads, baguettes, just to name few. The pastries are simply delicious. There is always a waiting line, so take a little time with you, it's worth it.

Bread is delicious a bit too sweet for mi taste but delicious. However, the staff is slow, so you likely to wait for a long time before you will get your bread

A wonderful European bakery. They have a wide selection rustic bread and pastries. The only complaint I have is that there is only one person attending the customers, which sometimes causes the wait time to be very long.

Doña Blanca offers a memorable dining experience. The handmade dishes are amazing, bursting with authentic flavors. While some may find the food slightly salty, it's a minor detail that doesn't detract from the overall exceptional quality. We had the pleasure of trying their soup, Cheese Pepper, Rice, Huitlacoche, and a refreshing guava water that perfectly complemented the meal. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was a delightful blend of styles. While finding parking on the street can be a bit challenging, it's well worth the effort. If you're seeking delicious, handmade food and a unique dining experience, Doña Blanca Restaurant is a must-visit.

If your looking for authentic "enchiladas potosinas" l definitely DO NOT recommend this place, l can't speak about the other dishes, but in my opinion the enchiladas potosinas where horrible, the had too much cheese and the rest was not even close. l only ate 1.5 out of 4 that they serve. The guacamole was good.

This place was delicious (9/2019). The staff was super friendly and the place is clean. They have good restrooms with soap and paper towels. You cant go wrong with this place. It is kinda crowded but the price is right. They didn't accept credit so be mindful of that when you go.

Hate to give such a low score here. Food was cold, even when asked to reheat came out the same, our party requested a xup of coffee (4 times); never came Even had to ask for utensils... worst service EVER!

Should have known, there was going to be as problem when the waitress messed up the drink order. When I asked her to change it, it took 20 minutes to get that. When we finally got out food it was cold.

The food was cold, the waiter took forever to get the food. We order shirp and it was frozen so we returned and asked for enchiladas and it took more than 20 minutes to bring it. We wait for the bill around 15 or 20 minutes too. Not happy at all

I came here for breakfast and since I didn't know how to say breakfast in Spanish, the server just gave up on me and left. Rude. I managed to "google" the Spanish equivalent and was served immediately. The food is OK.

This place used to be real good... The service is still great and that is actually why I'm giving them a high 5 ⭐ but other than that, the quality, quantity and consistency of the food is going down day by day, I understand it could be part of trying to keep the same menu prices, but I would prefer to be charged more and get what I expect... Just a thought for the owners of this very memorable place for many potosinos... Sad.

The taste and presentation of the food is very good. However on my recent visit the service was terrible; it was packed but we decided to wait 20 min. The hostess was like a chicken without head running everywhere without sorting out tables for the people waiting. After getting our table it took 15 min to the waiter to bring the menu after asking dor it and 10 min to getting the order . Not bread on the center of the table. And other 20 min to get juices ...and no coffee. And later on the food. Getting the check was long too and we paid over the desk. Service indeed can improve.

Excellent place for a healthy breakfast!

Delicious healthy plates (there are some not-as-healthy that are pretty good too); great attention from the personnel; likeable atmosphere on the nicely illuminated restaurant. We love going to Diepan for breakfast. Trying the pan dulce is a must. Diepan has a variety of panes dulces (Donuts, muffins and mexican classics such as chamucos) baked with whole grain mass, which are a much more nutritious option then the conventional options, and just as delicious or even more! Our favorite is the lemon donut. We recently tried the strawberry one and it was amazing. There are many vegetarian options. But there are few or none vegan options on the menu.

Quick service, great coffee, good food. Hiram was an excellent waiter. He anticipated our needs, and was always one step ahead. This efficiency and attention to the client I really appreciate. There is a kids' playground area, dedicated handicap parking, and access ramp. Have the latte coffee - it's a show on its own.

Poor food quality. Beware of the salads. I ordered a chicken salad supposedly with fresh spinich and chicken. There must have been 20gms of chicken breast (dried out), that was as much as a slice of ham . half an apple chopped, one crushed pican nut and lots of pale lettuce.
