Tried the Sadya at Mothers Veg Plaza and here’s the verdict The place is clearly popular — we had to wait around 15 minutes for a seat despite arriving early. The Sadya was served on a banana leaf with a variety of traditional items. The highlight was definitely the four types of payasam, each one delicious and well-prepared. Red rice is a better choice here for a richer experience. While the payasams and pickles were impressive, the main curry and side dish options felt limited for the price of ₹252/-. There seemed to be an overemphasis on multiple pickle varieties, which came off more as fillers than actual value additions. The atmosphere was clean but slightly humid. Though the AC was running, the lack of an air curtain meant the indoor space warmed up quickly as people moved in and out. Parking is also limited, so plan accordingly. Overall A decent place to try once for the payasam and traditional vibes, but there's room for improvement in variety and comfort.

Was highly recommended by a friend. Its a must visit if you would like to experience the Onam Sadhya at any time of the year. The spread is great and the service is fast. The problem is also that they dont let you eat peaceful also, the service is so fast they just serve and go dont event wait for you to wipe the water on the banana leaf. Also no buddy bothers to explain the dishes, I guess the regulars already know all the dishes so they dont bother to answer.

Still, considering the quality, quantity, and taste, it is absolutely worth the money and highly recommended.

A very well known restaurant in Trivandrum that's packed with people! As they say, if a restaurant is full, be sure it's trusted by the locals for its taste! Trying out the Kerala Sadya was obviously on my list and went here with my friends. The service was prompt and the coupon system was extremely systematic. The overall experience was so heart warming and the food tasted delicious! A must try for those looking to try out the local cuisine!

Probably the best veg restaurant in Trivandrum!!! Visiting this place with my friends for a dinner was one of the right decisions we made 🤩 Food - This place is known for their wide varieties of dosa in their menu. What we tried!!! - Cream of mushroom soup - Spanish dosa - Ghee roast - Idiyappam with mushroom kadai Service - Was decent enough and every item was served quick. They even replaced our mushroom soup as we felt it was bit saucy. Ambience - Spacious and well lit interiors. A Great thumbs up for this place 👍🏽

I had visited this place years ago for their sadya lunch and it used to be excellent the food was tasty and the service was impeccable. That was one of the reasons I looked forward to coming back. However, this time I went for breakfast and was shocked by the decline in quality. The idli and poori was undercooked, and even the chutney, sambar and bhaji tasted very below average. The service too was disappointing, even though there wasn’t much rush. It was a letdown compared to the wonderful experience I remembered from before. We had planned to try their sadya later, but after this breakfast experience, we canceled that plan. No idea if their sadya still tastes the same.

Read good reviews about cafe Jade , so decided to go there for lunch. we went for a buffet and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. There was a wide spread of dished and looked appetizing but the taste left a lot to be desired. Basically we found the dishes on the oilier side. A basa fry was supposed to be warm but it was cold . The mutton biriyani was good though i could only get the bones and less of the meat. the Veg fry though oily was quite good. Though the Roast chicken was ok, it was cold. The fried idly chaat was a let down.. it was very hard and didnt taste fresh at all. coming to the dessert, the orange souffle was good and the anjeer barfi was tasty too. the pastry shell of the papaya tart was not flaky at all. though i liked the papaya filling. The service was good. The young lady Susu was pleasant and attentive. I am assuming that the a la carte option would have been a better choice. For the hotel with a 5 star rating I had higher expectations . Jowever I hope the next time I visit , the experience would be more positive.

We recently had a buffet experience at Cafe Jade. The collection of items is quite impressive, offering a wide range from soups and salads to a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian main courses, along with fresh cut-fruits, delicious sweets, and ice creams. The food, while a bit on the expensive side and with a few items that weren't to our taste, provides such a large menu that you're sure to find something you'll enjoy. The atmosphere here is delightfully pleasant and not overly crowded. We found the staff to be incredibly attentive and always ready to assist. It was also very convenient to have the free valet parking service available. A special thank you to Aditya for his exceptional service, which made our visit even more memorable.

We went for dinner on July 13, 2025 and ordered A la carte instead of buffet. It turned out to be the worst dining experience we ever had & we paid about 12K in total. Here are some of the things we ordered: 1. Manchow chicken soup - which had absolutely no flavour of chicken 2. Non veg Kebab platter - Served cold, the chicken and mutton were good, fish had no taste at all and felt spoiled. 3. Hycinth special chicken curry - Chicken pieces in onion gravy would be the apt description. 4. Fish Manga curry - The worst. Fish had no taste at all, gravy was a mix of spices that didn’t go along. 5. Tandoori chicken pizza - Looked they made Tandoori chicken first and chopped it as big pieces like kebab and topped with mozzarella cheese 6. Appam - It was okay 7. Butter Naan - Burnt a bit, but manageable What did I like? Just the lime juice honestly. After eating the fish, me and my wife had stomach ache. Luckily it didn’t turn out worse. Thank you Hycinth & Cafe Jade for completely spoiling our evening. It was our first and last time visiting Hycinth.

Café CAFÉ My son and daughter-in-law had come for a few days and it was my daughter-in-law’s birthday today. So, we decided to go out for dinner. We decided to try out Café Jade at the Hycinth. I called them to book at table for 5 at 7.30 pm. The lady who answered my phone took my booking and asked me whether there was any occasion like a birthday or anniversary. I told her that it was a birthday dinner. We arrived at the hotel. The car was taken away by a valet. We were escorted to our table. As soon as we took our seats, the manager came and enquired whose birthday it was. Then they brought a cake with a candle lit on it. Spot lights were switched on and the speaker started playing the “Happy Birthday to you” song. We thought of ordering food a la carte. The manager suggested that we should try the buffet as they had a very extensive spread. We decided to go as per his suggestion. We were taking only vegetarian food today, but a decent number of vegetarian dishes were available. A large selection of salads and desserts were also available. There was a live station for Kerala Appam. Indian bread items like tandoori roti, butter naan, garlic naan and Kerala parotta were also available. There was also a station for fresh juices. A singer was there who sang melodious Hindi songs. Service was very good. Altogether quite a memorable dinner.

I want to thank the cafe jade staff for providing professional service and making this trip very memorable for me. The food was awesome, the staff was very cordial. The buffet always surprised me because they had different themes everyday. I happen to visit during Thattukada food fest the variety of fast food was amazing. Sree Arul Jyothi is a complete vegetarian restaurant located to opposite to Govt Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. It's a long standing restaurant in the city offers varities of vegetarian dishes. Cleanliness is in toto is good. Washroom were maintained well. Price of the food items is comparatively higher than similar veg restaurants. The restaurant is easily accessible from the main MG road. Sweets are arranged for sale near the entrance of eatery. Parking facility is absent. I had Puri masala and tea as breakfast from there. Puri was average channa was good. Tea tasted good.

Arul Jyothi Veg Restaurant at Statue, Trivandrum used to be one of my favorites a few years back. Sadly, my recent visit felt like walking into the ghost of its former self. The only thing still alive here is the location – the food and quality seem long gone. Let’s start with the basics. The chutney was so tasteless it could have been plain water with a little color. No salt, no flavor, absolutely zero life to it. The Poori set was just passable, nothing memorable. But the Gobi Manchurian? A joke. They basically tossed some undercooked cauliflower into a random chili curry and called it Manchurian – then had the audacity to charge ₹150 for it. The Veg Fried Rice (again ₹150) was bland, miserably portioned, and felt more like a side dish than a main course. As if the food wasn’t disappointing enough, the hygiene was worse. The wash area doesn’t even function – instead, a bucket of water sits nearby, waiting for customers to make do. For a restaurant sitting in such a prime location, this is plain embarrassing. They know people will walk in because of the spot, but clearly don’t care about taste, service, or value anymore. Overpriced, underwhelming, and completely forgettable – except for how bad it was.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Sree Arul Jyothi, located near the Statue! The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. We ordered the Ghee Roast, Ghee Masala Dosa, and Kothu Porotta, and each dish exceeded our expectations. The Ghee Roast was crispy and flavorful, the Ghee Masala Dosa was perfectly balanced with spices and ghee, and the Kothu Porotta was soft and flaky. The service was also prompt and friendly. Overall, we highly recommend Sree Arul Jyothi for a satisfying and tasty vegetarian meal! Will definitely visit again!

Sree Arul Jyothi Veg Restaurant in Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram offers a fair range of vegetarian dishes, but the overall experience has gone down compared to earlier days. The food quality no longer matches the high prices, and it seems to be lacking the old authentic taste that Arul Jyothi was once known for. The waiting time is quite long, especially during rush hours, and cleanliness could be improved. With better food quality, faster service, and efforts to bring back the original taste, it could once again become one of the best vegetarian spots in the area.

They offers a delightful experience! The grilled sandwich looks perfectly toasted and generously filled, served alongside crispy chips and refreshing watermelon slices – a thoughtful touch. Reached Sarwaa looking for some curio collection n silver jewellery after a heavy lunch.... Thatz how I found eis by sarwaa and the cafe... A different ambience, peaceful place to have a small gathering, even to sit alone. Comfort food...Warm ginger lemon honey soother is a must try especially after a heavy meal.

The atmosphere is very nice. There's no AC but it's a very nice place to have a nice time in the evening. Honestly i don't think it's a wise option to go in the afternoon as it would be too hot. I had a pleasant evening at Sarwaa.

Cafe Sarwaa is a true gem! The women running the kitchen are amazing. The food was made with such care and tastes absolutely delicious. We had two fresh juices, created on the spot squeezed to perfection. The veg cutlets and beef sandwich was out of this world. The banana fritters were yummy. The atmosphere is serene and beautiful. The prices were so reasonable and everything was worth the money. The service was quick and friendly. I also found some lovely trinkets to take back home at the store. Which is also run by a lovely lady. All in all a great experience and highly recommendable to all!

Actually we don't have another option near at the railway station .. that's why people visit coffee house. actually food is just avg that all, I tried chicken biriyani today gwd, first I I thought veg rice and chicken curry then I understand it's t -puram style chiken briyani maybe 🤣... I really don't like the food, service, hygiene. Totally disappointing. I had already visited other indian coffee house shops but only the board of it give me the same feel. Totally negative vibe. Tables are not properly cleaned after each customer. And the washbasin was not clean. And their dressing like so irritating.I got one small hair from the thoran. And the floor was like slippery and not clean. I know the dress code of Indian coffee house. But here it was not like that. This one is going to give a bad impression for all the indian coffee houses. And the food was like nothing like a wow. I ordered meals and I choose vegetarian and in the set of meal their is no payasam. That's not an issue. But they served it without even asking that whether we need it or not. I an unhealthy situation it is really hard to eat something. And the workers make us feels like we came their to eat for free. Only the person in the counter makes us feel good.

Excellent service and facilities. I stayed here for a couple of nights with my family and we enjoyed the stay thoroughly. The staff were genuinely warm, courteous and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was also good. The hotel is located in the heart of the city with most of the places of interest located nearby as well. We will definitely be back for more.

Had an amazing experience here, everything is close by, the temple, the beach and their services were worth the experience. I had been to many five star hotels but this one’s exceptional. It’s not only has amazing food but the staff is so friendly and understanding. They just go out of the box to make their costumer’s experience excellent.

We recently conducted a dealer meet at Hotel Hycinth, Trivandrum. The conference hall facilities were well-maintained and suitable for business gatherings, providing a comfortable and professional environment for our event. However, during the dinner session, we experienced delays in refilling the food items. The service team needs improvement in terms of responsiveness and ensuring timely replenishment, especially during organized events. On the stay front, the rooms were well-kept, comfortable, and up to expectations, making for a pleasant overnight experience. Overall, a good property with potential to offer a better experience with improved service coordination during events.

Food was flavourless... Chicken noodles was good But chicken shandong tasted like a local Indian chicken dish Sweet and sour chicken was very gingery, the chicken was soaked and the flavour was terribly off, it was a huge dissapointment. Service was good and quick Atmospehere was reasonably fine Overall experience for Chinese food was dissapointing However since the overall bill was over 2000 inr, a free Tiramisu was given which wasgrelaly good and enjoyable .

Since I don't like chinese food, I asked them to prepare the dish without sauce and they did it so. The food was too good and the service was also nice. I recently visited Cafe Mojo located in Kuravankonam, Trivandrum, and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. While the cuisine was undeniably top-notch, with flavorful dishes and a great variety, the behavior of one of the staff members at the cash counter left a bad impression. He was not only unprofessional but also made my group feel uncomfortable by staring at the ladies in our company and being overall irritating. While the food quality was excellent, this staff behavior really dampened the overall experience. I hope the management takes this issue seriously and trains their staff better to ensure such incidents don't happen again.

A small, cute place forever full of clients owing to the taste of the dish served. You get oriental dish only. The taste lingers. The ambience is great. The waiters are polite. The cafe is quiet, so it calms your mind while the food cools your stomach. The quantity per serving is more than you might expect. So order with care.

Cafe Mojo, One of the best Chinese and thai cuisine in town. Cozy ambiance with decent seating capacity, from starters to desserts everything was super delicious and service was very good. They keep the place very neat and clean. Will visit again.

The buffet here costs a bomb, but the food isn't worth the price. It's not bad by any means, but you can get the same quality at other restaurants for lesser prices. The tenderloin was chewy, the chicken sausage salad was also underwhelming. The Malabar chicken curry was average. The Punjabi fish curry was decent but the gravy was too thin. The dessert options were even more disappointing. The cheesecake had zero flavour, I felt like I was eating bland foam with bits of citrus peel(?). The berry crumble was just a chunk of flour - the type a first-time baker creates. The red velvet roll and the 'Opera' pastry were the saving graces. The staff were friendly, the ambience is okay (not sure why they randomly switched off the air con in our section though). The location of the restaurant/hotel is also odd - a lonely one-way road that isn't easily accessible. At the end of the day, the food is underwhelming. If you've eaten at any of the other 3/4 star restaurants in Trivandrum, you can skip this place, nothing to miss.

5 of us had dinner buffer yesterday. Overall experience was underwhelming, with some hits and misses. Cream of veg soup was good. Most of the salads were spicy and not suited for our taste. Similar experience with one of the starters and grilled dishes. When you start enjoying one of the dishes, the high degree of spice/masala level on the other dish will pull you down, and we felt that the chicken starter could have been cooked well (felt overcooked). Similar experience on the main course - chicken and fish were good, though the kadai paneer was overly spicy. Rotis were good. Most of the desserts tasted fine, though the payasam had overpowering taste of cardamom. If you are someone who doesn’t mind spicy dishes, you could give a try. They have a fairly decent spread, though not very elaborate. Restaurant space is not very large. Service staff were courteous, though they could have had more staff for better coverage on all tables. Had valet parking option, reception area is fairly big sized and the washroom was clean. Overall, some hits and some misses, and a mixed bag experience.

This restaurant Mynt at Vivanta Thiruvananthapuram is where the breakfast buffet is served every morning. The breakfast buffet has a good spread and variety. Food is overall quite tasty and good, as can be expected from a good hotel breakfast buffet. Also had a snack dish / appetizer dish (chilli cheese toast) once in the evening and the taste was delicious. Special mention for excellent and attentive service by staff member Vysakh. I asked for a chilli cheese toast on a particular evening, just before checking out of the hotel for my flight, and I needed the dish ready to eat in 15 minutes. Vysakh ensured that the chef prepared the dish within the said 15 minutes, and Vysakh served it to my table accordingly. He ensured that the time promise was maintained so that I did not get delayed because of this. Efficient, prompt and professional service at Mynt restaurant by staff member Vysakh.

I had breakfast buffet with them. One sip of coffee made by Mohan made my day. It was simply perfect. I received excellent hospitality from Ritoma, she is really pleasant, soft spoken and ensured that I'm satisfied with the dining experience.

The experience was immaculate. Riya, Rahul, laimwn, Alan are exceptional servers. Especially Riya - goes out of her way to make the guest feel welcomed, special, and comfortable. Alan is super hardworking and very welcoming.

The best place to hangout with friends and family. A small shack like cafe situated right on the beach. The mint lime tea here is amazing and has the right flavours. A good place for a quick stop especially when you're on a budget. It's usually crowded during the weekends, and it takes a lot of waiting to get a seat and more waiting for you to get your orders. Would suggest you to place your orders directly at the cash counter. They accept only cash payments.

Had breakfast at Good Morning Hotel, and it was an absolute treat! The porotta was perfectly flaky, complementing the crisp pappadam and the rich, flavorful beef fry. The beef was tender, well-spiced, and bursting with authentic taste. Every bite was a delight! If you're looking for a hearty, satisfying meal, this place is a must-visit.

I tried a variety of dishes, including the poratta, beef idiyappam, pappadam, and sulaimani, and every single item was flavorful and well-prepared. The sulumani was a refreshing and aromatic drink that complemented the meal perfectly. Each dish was not only delicious but also worth trying. Good Morning Hotel serves one of my favourite porotta and beef dishes in the city. I tried their porotta, idiyappam, pappadam, beef curry, and beef fry. I had to wait almost 30 minutes for the beef fry as it wasn’t ready when I arrived, but it was well worth the wait the flavour was incredible. The beef curry was also quite impressive. Best of all, if you're visiting Good Morning Hotel, you must try their mint black tea, it’s truly magical. I ended up drinking at least four cups that day! The customer service was very comforting, and the ambience was decent.

I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are various factors that I noticed and based on those I suggest not to visit this restaurant. First thing is their dishes are over priced and they're selling it at a very high price and if you compare the quantity, it will not justify the price. Then next is they're using low quality ice, grains while cooking food for you. I ordered chicken biryani which they charged 160 Rs. To be honest its cost should not be more than 70-90 Rs. The quantity they served is very low.

So we went for lunch at Darjeeling Cafe. We ordered the famous momos, fried rice, butter chicken, and butter naan . Fried rice, butter, chicken was the only thing that was decent. The momos tasted so bad plus for the amount of money we are giving, It was not worth at all and the fried rice also was very cold. So if you want to skip Darjeeling Cafe, it totally fine because you won’t be missing anything except for the view and view you can get it from some other cafes in the same spot, but the ambience is nice. You have like a direct view from the cliff to the beach to the sea, so it is pretty good, except for the View there is nothing which Darjeeling Cafe offers, so yeah, just feel happy to skip it

The veg was cooked to perfection and the fish rapped in banana leaf was a large serve and incredibly tasty. I sat on the balcony overlooking the ocean and sipped my long island iced tea. I'll come back tomorrow earlier to eat and watch the sunset. Now to go down stairs for some ice cream at bad manors cafe. Yum!

Located on the Varkala cliff, Cafe De La Mar is easily one of the standout spots in the area. The French onion soup was rich, flavourful, and truly comforting. We also tried their ravioli, which was excellent with perfectly balanced flavours and a satisfying portion size. The fresh watermelon cooler was wonderfully refreshing. The ambience is calm and scenic, with a lovely view overlooking the cliff. A great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy good food with a view.

Cafe Delmar is a nice chill spot. Local eatery that has big menu. Staff was friendly and attentive. We got banana lassi, mango lassi, coconut latte, bombay toast, and avocado toast and eggs. I recently visited this place, and while the view was stunning, the service left much to be desired. It was evident that the staff prioritized foreigners over locals, which was disappointing and discriminatory. The waiter attending to us didn’t take our order properly. I ordered pasta and cold coffee, but even after we finished the pasta, there was no sign of the coffee. When we enquired, we realized the waiter had either forgotten or ignored the order. The pasta sauce was excellent, probably the highlight of the meal, even though the pasta itself wasn’t remarkable. However, the cold coffee was extremely bitter and unpleasant. Overall, the location and view are fantastic, but the service and attention to detail need serious improvement.

Malabar Café has become one of my favourite places in the Lighthouse Beach area. It is small and cosy with a fine view of the beach. Also, there's a nice breeze from the ocean that feels comfortable in the hot daytime sunshine. The food is good, and the service normally comes with positive attention and smiles. After a few visits, especially Shaji remembers your favourites of dishes and drinks.

Had lunch and dinner both in this beach side restaurant. Had Dal Fry,Chicken Masala and Kadai Fish and Steamed Rice in lunch and fish curry and dry chilli chicken and butter naan in dinner. Every dish was delicious. Among them Kadai Fish was the star item which was served in a sizzling kadai. Only Butter Naan was not upto the mark. Staffs are well behaved. They accept cash,card and GPay.

This place is the most crowded and happening restaurant in Kovalam Beach. Most of the tables will be occupied by foreigners however I haven't observed any preferences given towards them. So I can propose that this restaurant is equally good for foreigners and Indian citizens as well. Sea foods are the most sorted out dishes in the menu, you can try some of the dishes with prawns which was excellent. Even their breakfast menu seems to be ok. Being Indian I wanted some extra spices in all my food I ordered and the staffs where happy to understand my taste and serve me well. During my stay at Kollam I had visited this restaurant 5 to 6 times and never had any unsatisfying experience. Hence I would suggest that if you are planning to visit Kovalam please try to visit this restaurant once and share your experience.

I tried the calamari thoran with the paroota and it was great. I came back for the butter garlic crab and the prawn Molly curry. Both were great. Good place on the Varkala cliff which offers beers.. While there many good cafés around, this place had a different vibe with live music. Rocky did served was good booze and with a smile. The atmosphere turned vibrant with variety of songs being played to keep up the tempo.

I'm not sure about the stay here but we had the WORST breakfast experience here. We ordered the beef steak breakfast, it was the worst. The meat was very hard, the scrambled eggs were bland. The hot chocolate we had was just water mixed with chocolate powder. The view from the restaurant was beautiful. They should maintain their hygeine more, dogs are roaming inside the restaurant.

Varkala cliff and the top dining eatery just make you feel different. Yes one side sea breeze and fav food on your plate is purely an aesthetic. Added to it Kerala monsoon drizzling rain made it even more scenic. Ordered hot chocolate, fries, and chicken steak went well and tasted decent as well. Rates on the menu are quite higher side. Especially sea food. They have a beautiful garden outside, dim lighting dine-in, and a book shelf for interiors (of course not in good condition to read). Fish is sold fresh and the wait time is more if you want a first floor dine-in.

The overall 3 Star is not related to the quality of food at all... the food we had as part of Umami 2.0 was excellent. For an establishment of this caliber, it was surprisingly a dismay to attempt to book tables. Not sure whether this was an issue with their IVR or restaurant extension not caring. For 2 hours, I couldn't get through to the Restaurant to make reservations. Since the family was sooo looking forward to the Japanese Cuisine, we decided to drop by and try our luck. As expected, "We are pre-booked fully sir" responses came by with a tone that stirs you up. One dialogue about how a place like Hilton gives such a disappointing experience, and they quickly said, they'd get us a seat and requested us to wait, leading us to a comfortable space to sit. However, the Drinks Menu we asked for, never came until it was time for us to seat, which we got in about 15 to 20 minutes. Now coming to the Umami 2.0 food. The menu was short and crisp in their offerings of Uramaki and Nigiri, soups, main course and cocktails.... But we were there purely to try out the Uramaki and Nigiri... And we enjoyed them right down to the end... We ordered their Smoked Salmon Uramaki and the Prawns Tempura Uramaki. For Nigiri, we only tried their Tuna Nigiri. The portions if Uramaki delivered were sumptuous and flavors were excellent. We thoroughly feasted on them enjoying the flavors in full. The Nigiri though had only 3 pieces served, were one of the largest I have had. The thought did go through my mind that if the quantity was split into more servings, it would have left an impact of having been served a good portion as with the Uramaki. That being said, it was no less than excellent as well. Their blend of the Soy Dip too was refreshing and went well with the dishes. We also indulged ourselves with a glass of Sunrise in Osaka… Though there was no hint of Tequila, the drink as is was quiet good. Overall, the food experience was excellent and brightened the night in spite of the initial hiccups and hurdles. Sadly, this was just a 3 day treat. Looking forward to Umami 3.0. Until the next time... or the next course...

I visited the place for a birthday party. The made a mango fresh cake and gave it. It was a very welcome gesture. Every one loved the cake. Now comming to buffet food. 4 non veg and 4 veg starters were there, every thing was great. Salad section was amazing, I had multiple servings. Soup was ordinary. Biriyani was super. All main courses were great. Desserts had enough choices and every one loved every thing. Only down side was that everything appeared to be little congested. There was no space for even keeping the lids. Other than this it was excellent experience.

Sigh! I always look forward to dining here but today was just an "off day" I suppose. The food was yummy and perfectly cooked but took forever to come and sad even a little cold by the time it got to thr table. Yet, the most disappointing was the sad margarita(in pic); my friend's Caiprioska was equally disappointing. Can't go wrong with wine was our next thought so we ordered the fraternelli Sauvignon blanc and rosé, neither was chilled enough 😟. The service staff were constantly missing apparently cuz they were short staffed. The highlight was a young lady from the front desk who stopped by to check on us(I wish I had caught her name) and spread some joy.

Great restaurant, great service. We tried buffet during a special occasion and most of the food we tried, we loved it. Neatly presented. There were live counters for Chat, grill items. Chat offerings were really delicious. Beef chilli instinct was awesome. Murgh Begam Bahar was really good, however, slightly overpowered by cardamom flavour. Dessert section was really really good... Overall the food offered in the buffet were delicious.

Babu Farm Restaurant – Great View, Disappointing Experience Babu Farm Restaurant, located right on Black Sand Beach in Varkala, has an incredible view. It's the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and watch the sunset. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the beachfront setting is definitely a highlight. Unfortunately, that's where the good part ends. The food is a complete letdown—bland, lacking any real flavor, and not worth the price. To make matters worse, they often mess up orders, bringing the wrong dishes or forgetting items entirely. The staff seems completely untrained, barely acknowledging guests and offering little to no service. It feels like they’re just going through the motions without actually caring about the experience. If you're looking for a place to enjoy the view with a drink, maybe it’s worth a stop. But if you’re expecting good food and decent service, you’re better off going somewhere else.

The North Indian vegetarian food was actually very good I did not expected and the most of stall was very polite and friendly except the last person who assisted us on last day he was way too rude when asked for extra plate he said to use the plate in which they serve the rice and while paying the bill all the there staff member for last 2 days got the scanner to our table but that person asked us to go to office and when i asked for scanner he said there’s some problem but when i checked in office and with other staff about the scanner they said it’s working fine. Not sure if we were North Indians that’s why he was having like this because he was treated the next table people very well with big smile. But overall the staff is good and specially vegetarian food

We didn’t stay, but used the restaurant a few times for food and drinks. The food was lovely, the tandoori dishes were delicious, in fact the best I’ve had on my trip so far. I had fish tikka and my husband tandoori chicken, we came back again and the food did not disappoint the 2nd time either. The owner Babu was really friendly, and our waiter (sorry can’t remember his name) was also lovely and helpful and the location on the beach is fabulous.

I was craving a beachside staycation for months. After searching many options in Varkala, I finally found Babu Farm House, and it exceeded expectations! I had a fantastic stay – clean rooms, yummy fresh seafood, and stunning beach views from my balcony. The friendly owner and staff went above and beyond with exceptional service. Visit for the view, not the food. Ordered some sandwiches - veg & non veg. The breads for both these sandwiches were hard as brick. I kid you not, but those were harder than rusk. Literally had to eat the filling and leave the rest. Banana split was ok. Nothing special. Great view, good service.

Loved it so much that we came back the next day for dinner and had butter chicken, which was delicious. Pineapple juice was too good .Great food and a fantastic location make it a must-visit!

I don't recommend the beef. I got food poisoning from a burger I ate there 2 weeks ago. That was my second visit since the first time I had butter chicken and that was delicious. The burger was also overpriced for the very small size. It was in between the size of an appetizer slider and regular burger. The menu said it comes with fries. They served 4 small potato wedges. Service is slow. There are young servers who barely speak English. One young boy who works there is shy and doesn't come by to check on you. I really like the restaurants layout and decor. The vibe is good. The food and service needs improvement. If it wasnt for the butter chicken I would've given 2 stars overall.

Beatles Café sits right on the seaside pathway at Kovalam Beach, offering a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea and the Vizhinjam Lighthouse. From the outside, it looks inviting—the whole café is designed with wooden interiors, giving it a rustic feel, and the seating arrangement is comfortable enough to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze. On ambience and location, the café scores well. Now, coming to the food—this is where things fell apart for me. We were two people, and we ordered: • Margherita Pizza (₹600) – Honestly, a big disappointment. The flavor was flat, the texture was off, and it didn’t taste like something worth even ₹200. If I had to rate it, it would be a minus one out of five. • Vegetable Sandwich (₹300) – Decent, I’d give it a three out of five. The sandwich itself was average, but the potato wedges served alongside were actually the star of the meal—crispy, seasoned well, and easily a five on five. The major downside? The pricing. We ended up paying around ₹1,100 for just these two items and left neither full nor satisfied. For that cost, the food should’ve been far more flavorful and substantial. What I did like, though, was the service. The staff were polite, attentive, and kept checking if we needed anything else. Food is always very tasty. We had fried calamari, egg fried rice and fried eggplant slices. All very good.

Nested in the middle of the streets, this place has a history attached to its heritage. You'll see pictures and history of Kovalam attached to the wall. Must see as they give an insight of the whole area and history. It is a lovely sit out restaurant - cafe with excellent views of the lighthouse beach. One of my favourite spots to sit and relax while you munch on mouthwatering food and drinks. Afternoons are the best to relax under the shade when the sun is at its peak and your steps away from the Arabian Sea. Banana leaf fish and Fish and chips are highly recommended. Keep this as one of your places to visit.

Ate here several times in late September and always enjoyed coming back. They serve a pretty broad variety of food, both Indian and Western. Definitely the best coffee on the beach too. Perfect to grab one of the tables on the front side of the terrace and watch the boardwalk down below as the sun sets in broad view.

Absolutely fantastic view of the beach as u have a bit or sip your drink! The different kinds of tea available, Masala/ mint/ lemon, are all superb. The staff are courteous & above all the rates of such delicious items is most reasonable. Would strongly recommend their dishes/beverages!

The food here is not at all worth the money. We tried french toast, cheese omelettes, special breakfast and bunch of juices. Well, you really can't mess up eggs, so that was fine but apart from that, everything else was absolute rubbish. French toast tasted like toasted bread with cashews on top

In my opinion, it’s the best veg restaurant in Kovalam close to the beach, a bit hidden but easy to find. Once we came there, we’d have brunch and dinner there daily. Huge menu, reasonable prices, delicious NOT spicy food, fast service and very nice stuff. Portions are quite big (for a woman), therefore you can ask to have half of the portion. Absolutely recommend it!

The best restaurant in Kovalam! You must to go without exception! Unni is the guy will attend you and serving all of people! That's maybe the problem about 19pm that restaurant is always full and you can wait for your meal 1 or 1.30 hours. That's not problem of this kind guy but also the manager of this restaurant. You should try the fruit plate for starting your day, the kerala coffee (really good) and every vegetable meal with kerala parotha! Each veggie meal can be about 150-180-200 rps. It is my favorite restaurant in Kovalam: calm ,next to the ancient temple with a very friendly staff and delicious fresh food. I returned there nearly every day during my stay in Kovalam, for breakfast, lunch, diner. All was fresh, cooked on demand and tasty. I loved all the curries, dal, butter masala paneer, all types of veggies in different sauces. Indian breakfasts, including masala dosa and iddly are delicious. If you have a chance to have thali for lunch, don’t hesitate, it is a pleasure for your eyes and stomach! Kerala coffee is worth trying, it reminded me Turkish coffee, tasty! I appreciated everything: service, fresh ingredients, delicious food, very attentive personnel. Thank you 😊

Not easy to find this restaurant. There are only 2 vegan restaurants options on light house beach. This is one among them. So if you are vegan then you will thank God to find this place. The ambience is average, open space restaurant ranging from Indian, Asian to continental option. I found the response from the staff bit dull, when went for lunch it was just empty. So I was expecting they had all time and resource to provide service. The paneer pakoda was only good. We ordered potato gobi carry and mushroom masala. The taste was not good, even though one was ordered less spicy and another moderate. The French fries were not at all good, not boiled and cooked properly. The shapes were too big for it to cook we felt. I dropped my plan of trying something continental here later.

Chef is very helpful in preparing food based on our customisation as well. I highly recommend this place for vegetarians as they have excellent options. It's a popular spot among foreigners too. Suprabhatham is an organic veg restaurant located in the end of one of the alleys opposite Kovalam beach. The restaurant is a little tricky to find if you don't find the correct alley. The afternoon we dined we had the whole place to ourselves which resulted in good service. We ordered Fried rice and Pakodas which are made to order and tasted quite good. The menu is pretty versatile catering to both the Indian and foreign crowds that throng the beach. Accepting cards or wallets in addition to cash could bring in more crowd. Dined in : Oct 2019

We are a family of 6 and stayed in Varkala between 14th and 19th February 2025, and we were fortunate enough to choose the Green Pepper on our first evening. We visited 8 or so other restaurants during our stay and we rated the Green Pepper as having the best food and best value for money .... so we had to visit for a 2nd time on our last night in Varkala! Our host and other staff was very attentive and made us welcome on both of our visits. The location is also very special with wonderful sea views. If you are looking for a restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere that offers superb food at very affordable prices, then it would be a mistake if you did not visit the Green Pepper restaurant .... enjoy!!!

I stayed in the first floor Sea view room. Price they charged for the room was Rs.2500 for 24hrs. The location was awesome. It is located on the top of the cliff. You can go to the beach through the steps made on the cliff. If you want to purchase anything there is nothing to purchase. You have to go to North cliff by walking on the beach for 2kms or by car 3kms. If they maintain the rooms clean we can give 10/10. And one main thing they have DJ on every weekend, it is worth for the money don't miss it, if u stay here. Entry for DJ is Rs. 300, if u want unlimited food Extra Rs.500, if u want liquor you have to pay extra.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay. The room was lacking basic amenities—there was no water provided in the bathroom, which is essential for any guest. Additionally, we had requested an extra bed, but it was not provided, leaving our group uncomfortable. The most frustrating part, however, was the meal service. We had ordered chicken rice for 40 people, but when it arrived, it was served as egg rice instead. This mix-up caused a lot of inconvenience, especially since we were relying on that meal. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend this place.

The shrimp in “prawn” curry was not fresh at all so it tasted bland. The kitchen looked dirty too so I’m not sure about the hygiene in this place. Don’t be fooled by the amount of tourists here like us.

Visited this hotel recently and had a good experience overall. Tried their ghee roast in the morning—crispy, flavorful, and served hot with tasty chutneys and sambar. For lunch, I went for the meals and chapathi, both of which were fresh and satisfying. The meals had all the typical South Indian curries and accompaniments, well-balanced in taste. The place does get a bit crowded during peak hours, so sometimes you might have to wait for seating. However, they do have parking space, which is definitely a plus.

Recently visited Aryaas Park. We ordered 2 Veg Fried Rice and 1 Chilli Gobi. The food was okay — not bad, but nothing special either. Prices are quite high compared to what they offer. The restaurant setup is just normal and doesn’t match the pricing. Dine-in experience was not very satisfying. At least they should improve the dine-in area if they’re charging premium rates.🙏

Visited late in afternoon. Ordered lunch and Rava Dosa + snacks as parcel. Service is good very prompt 😁 Parking is off street so evening time might be crowded. Lunch wasn't great. The sabji lacked flavour and dal was watery... Food felt average. Washrooms are clean. Overall good option in vegetarian 🙂

But the SaMBAR 😡 served here in the morning with masala dosa didn't meet the standard of what expected, it tasted more like DAL curry, Veggies were less, CHeated. I have informed them, but no response. But the masala dosa was good. Neatness was superb.

Visited this place expecting a decent meal given the clean ambiance, but the food was a total disaster. We ordered mushroom fried rice and biryani – both were huge letdowns. The so-called mushroom fried rice was literally just plain white rice mixed with mushrooms. No flavor, no seasoning, nothing! As for the biryani, calling it that is an insult – it was more like a bland pulao, and honestly, even a basic pulao would taste better. To top it off, the sweet lassi was watery and tasteless. Paid ₹440 for this mess – complete waste of money. Not going back, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for actual food with taste.

And during this time we visited many institutions, cafes and restaurants, but the Hindustani restaurant, in our opinion, is the best. Very tasty and varied dishes. Very clean and comfortable. Very high quality service, and respectful and friendly attitude to visitors.

Don’t be fooled by the side alley location! Had a few meals here in late September and everything was delicious. Everything was prepared fresh and served with a smile. If you have questions about unfamiliar dishes, don’t hesitate to ask and the staff will happily explain to help you make a choice. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a quick bite in between.

During our visit to Tamil Nadu and Kerala, we mostly had south indian food. When we reached our last destination, Kovalam, we were in search of some good north indian food. While searching, we came across Hindustani Pure Vegetarian Restaurant and i must say the food here was very delicious and the place was very hygienic. The owners of this place were very warm and the ambiance was very homely. We had all our meals at this restaurant till the time we stayed at Kovalam. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to all those who are in search of some great North Indian food in Kovalam.

The beach view is fabulous, one should really spend some time during sunset in this cafe. Food is really awesome and the price is also normal. The only thing is the time taken to prepare the food which is somewhat more(but if you have free time to spend in the cafe with your family or friends, then you can enjoy the beach view along with the best and tasty food)

Came here for breakfast and was charged 100rs for a tiny piece of toast with scrambled eggs. Not sure what the hype is about with the rest of the reviews. Also their masala chai is a bag of chai tea dipped in warm milk :/

Good food with great views of the beach. It is located right in the junction when you enter Varkala beach. The rates were quite reasonable for a beachfront restaurant. We were quite happy with the portion sizes as well. Accepts Paytm and Google Pay (Oct 2019).

We had prawns sizzler, coconut rice and brinjal curry along with roti. All the items are good and tasty. We had a yummy dinner almost sitting infront of the beach. Staff - courteous and quick in delivering the order It's a reasonable (price range) restaurant in this locality. The atmosphere here is pleasant and the beach waves are visible. Tip : better to reach this place before 9pm..

Beach setting and shaded making it ideal for any time of day dining. Food variety and quality is just about as good as it gets. Service is superb and efficient although like all good food worth waiting for but never for too long. If I’m a hurry then you need to chill out and enjoy the view and charm of this quaint wonderful setting. Service with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. I could probably eat here all the time and food is truly amazing and always fresh! Highly recommend a visit.

Cool place with lovely decor and a vast menu of healthy stuff, including many vegan options. Expensive but it stands alone for the size and variety of its menu. Plates were pretty but a small request for chef 🧑‍🍳 - to taste the food, it was all too salty.

We tried the shakshuka with hummus and the avocado toast. Both of them were nice and tasty. The shakshuka was really well made and I would recommend trying it. The coffee was good as well and the orange juice was nice and fresh. A good place for breakfast right on the cliff. They have some nice art works on their wall too. Service was quick as well.

Great vibes right on the cliff edge. Thourghly enjoyed their breakfast oats with a range of local fruit coulis. If Indian or overnight oats aren't your thing they offer a range of breakfast options as well They also had a great range of teas, which apur perfectly with the sea view and a good book.

We first visited Little Tibet for lunch and were so thoroughly impressed that we ended up returning three more times. The food is simply incredible, and we found ourselves craving their classic comfort dishes. First of all there is a beautiful view of varkala beach. The chicken and veg momos are so delicious. Also they serve a bowl of veg Soup with the momos, it's salty but it was ok to me. The price of the recipes was little expensive but ok we can adjust it because of the beautiful view of varkala beach. The Ambience was so good decorated with ambient lights and so soothing music. The best time to visit the place is at evening. We can watch the sunset from this resturant.

Located right on the Varkala Cliff, we loved Little Tibet so much that we visited twice. The food is fantastic and the view is just as impressive. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size they offer. The jhol momos are the highlight. We tried both paneer and veg jhol momos and they were absolutely drool worthy. The thenthuk was warm, tasty, and very comforting. I also tried their spinach cheese momos which were excellent in both taste and quantity.We also tried their veg shabley which was decent ,as I had better ones. Among drinks, the pina colada truly stands out, and the pomegranate banana smoothie was refreshing and quite filling. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for delicious food with a great cliff view in Varkala.

One time I went there when no people were around the food was so delicious it tasted just perfect but the next time when there were people around the food and service dropped to lowest. Single dish arrived after 2 hours and it didn't had any taste. We had ordered thupka which in earlier visit had tasted best but this time it's just boiled noodles in water . When we complained about it that it don't even have salt or anything spicy they asked us to just put chili sauce in it and table salt. I have attached both times thupka image with the review. During my three-day trip to Trivandrum, I dined at this restaurant for all my meals, initially impressed by the food quality, hygiene, and cleanliness. Despite the waiter claiming they used sunflower oil on the first day, I saw a delivery of six cans of palmolein oil, raising doubts about the oils used in their cooking. I visited it twice on my visit to Trivandrum as I just couldn't resist the taste, both times had breakfast food. The food is too good. The coffee is just awesome. Its the most authentic filter coffee you can have. Its very near the Trivandrum station and East fort. Most convenient restaurant in the area for the service and taste I would say.

Tried this outlet this morning. Above average quality food (Idli was not at all good - too hard) Staff never memorises orders and as such you may not get what you order ( this was today, and experience of many customers around us this morning) Staff are not customer friendly. Majority of the customers are from neighbouring districts coming to visit famous temples around this outlet, especially padmanabhaswamy temple. Parking not available for this outlet as location is heart of the city.

Food is good. Very good option for veg food. Service is fast, but the staff are a little bit rude. Had idli and tea from here. It was super good. The chutney and sambhar was also good. Recommended for those visiting Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple.

We went for lunch and only kerala meal was available although jain is written, they don't serve it at lunch time and are rude about it as well. We were served by mr. Shreekant and he was really great. The food improved because he explained all the items so well and how to pair each of them and eat them properly. It was a great experience all thanks to him. Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs! Our stay at this hotel was an absolute nightmare, and I urge anyone considering it to think twice. The listing makes it seem like a charming sea-view property, but it’s actually a small building hidden behind a restaurant – no sea view whatsoever. Total false advertising. The electricity was constantly going on and off, both day and night. We couldn’t relax or sleep properly with these interruptions. The rooms were in awful condition. The lock barely worked, making us feel unsafe and insecure with our belongings. Maintenance is clearly not a priority here. Breakfast was a disaster. They don’t even have a proper restaurant – they just bring in food parcels from somewhere outside. It was tasteless and made us feel sick. After the first morning, we didn’t bother eating their breakfast for the rest of our stay. To top it all off, there was no hot water available. I had to take an icy cold bath, and my 3-year-old child couldn’t even bathe because of it. On top of everything, you have to walk around 800 meters just to get from the parking area to the hotel. Carrying luggage back and forth was exhausting and inconvenient. Do yourself a favor – DO NOT stay here. Spend a little more and find a better place that actually cares about its guests’ comfort and convenience. This was one of the worst travel experiences we’ve ever had.

I had one of the worst hotel experiences at Unwind Hotels & Resorts, Kovalam (Stay: 01–03 May 2025, booked via Yatra). 1. AC Not Working in One Room: The air conditioner in one of the rooms was completely dead. We had booked two rooms for four guests, but because of the heat, all four of us had to sleep on the same bed in a single room. Extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable. 2. Wi-Fi Was Down the Entire Stay: There was no internet access at all, despite repeated complaints to the receptionist. This severely disrupted our office work, which we had planned to manage remotely. The hotel advertised free Wi-Fi — it was non-existent. 3. No Receptionist or Hotel Staff Available: The receptionist was either missing or totally unreachable. We were told someone stays on the premises, but no one ever responded, and the reception desk was abandoned most of the time. This was not only frustrating but also a serious security concern. 4. No Help from the Hotel or Yatra: Despite reaching out through the Yatra app (which itself was buggy and unresponsive), no assistance or compensation was provided. The hotel is now denying we ever contacted them during the stay, which is completely false.

Hi, I will not recommend this resort because of its poor condition. No point paying that much for this property . There is a lady in Bangalore she does the booking she herself hold their rooms so that people think rooms are booked and then in higher price they book rooms. Once booking is done she will not listen to your problems. List of issues I faced - No hot water for bath, AC not working, Durty and unhygienic rooms , bad smells comes .

Room was great and service also. Only problem is hotel is 10 min walkable from parking. Hotel staff will help you to carry your luggage from parking area to hotel. For parking you need to pay 25- 50 RS per night. This is not hotel parking. This is public parking.

Stayed in hotel from 3/11/24 to 5/11/24. Worst hotel I have ever seen. Room stink and devoid of ventilation. Broken furniture and tiles in bathroom. Hot water is provided in bucket. Breakfast was stale which one can't feel like eating. We ate outside. There was no kitchen or room service. There were frequent disruption of power supply. Bed sheets and towels were dirty. It was nightmarish experience.

Five stars for the combo of taste x price x atmosphere. Everyone loves the iced coffee but I thought it didn’t have the “kick” from espresso (they use instant coffee so that makes sense). But I absolutely loved the milkshakes! I also had breakfast here twice and was happy with the food and the quality. You’ll probably have to wait a bit for food. Also tables are sparse so usually people share with strangers, no big deal. I hope Benny can afford to upgrade a space one day! I felt good about supporting this local family. I would recommend.

You can meet the people there to strike up a conversation. A general store with utilities food quality spices and the books generally travellers like all is there . Also the owner was very sweet and kind, the plain pancake was epic …I have never tasted such thing ever and I was quite dicey about it but it seemed tasty and light !! We arrived at the cafe at 8.50 am since it was mentioned that the cafe opens at 8 am on Google. It was also mentioned that these timings were confirmed 8 weeks ago. It caused us huge inconvenience since we walked almost a km to find it closed. A nearby shopkeeper mentioned that it opens at 10.30 am approx.

What an amazing spot! My family and I were vacationing in Varkala for a week staying on the south cliff. I was looking for a new place to eat and found Soul, what a gem this place is. Love the vibe love the different types of art and you definitely recommend to anyone looking for a chill place to eat with fantastic food! Staff and food were impeccable. lots of room for the kids to play and run around. The fish tacos, Kerala style are a must!

Visited on 12/APR/25 The dishes are pretty good but the ambience is great, there’s a lot of open place to do sunbathing and it’s pretty spacious, you will be disturbed by stray dogs if you’re okay with them then no issues. Unfortunately at the time of our visit there were not many dishes and the menu is quite unique as well.

I went there with great expectations after reading the reviews. I ordered Fish tacos. The place is beautiful. The view is amazing. But the fish tacos were a very unpleasant surprise. I expected some crunch (because of the name taco). The fish fried in batter was cold and soggy, the wrap was soggy after 2 min because of the filling. It seemed like a very weird dish to me. I don't understand why everyone seems to be raving about it in the reviews.

Sri Aishwarya Hotel is located in Sasthamangalam. The hotel needs maintenance and is congested. No space for parking. The food served here is average. I think it is the other branch of Aishwarya, which is located in Vazhuthacadu, is a better one.

I tried the phulka roti with palak paneer which was good but a bit expensive for the quantity provided. Then I had a plate of parotta with kurma curry. I’ve visited Cafe Trip is Life last year and the year before, and every time the food and experience have been amazing. This time, while the overall vibe was still great, I did notice a decline in cleanliness. The glasses used for the drinks didn’t look very clean, and one of the mojitos had an ant in it. The staff was quick to replace it with a fresh one, which I appreciated. Food-wise, the pulled beef sandwich was a bit bland for my taste, but the seafood dishes—especially the grilled prawn splatter and the white sauce pasta—were delicious. As always, the ambience, views, and prime location create a totally positive vibe. I’d just request the team to pay more attention to cleanliness to keep the experience as perfect as it has been in the past.

This place is located right on top of the cliff. They have multiple seating areas available but the ones right on top of the cliff are most beautiful. I tried the grilled prawns and the beef bacon sandwich. Both of them were decent and the sandwich was served in a croissant. Apart from this, I tried the salads and both of them tasted good as well. The service was really good and they had some nice mocktail options as well.

This cafe is totally Insta-worthy — we ended up going twice in two days! The view is stunning, especially at sunset — absolutely magical. The food is decent, and the service is quite good too. On our second visit, we went around 7 AM, and it was super peaceful with hardly anyone around. Just note that before 8:30 AM, they only serve coffee and croissants. One of the best cafes I have ever visited! Witnessed a surreal sunset from there while enjoying the tastiest food. Liked it so much that I visited it multiple times during our trip. The mango prawn curry and the pink marinara pasta are a must-try. And don’t miss out on the tres leches. Highly recommend!

This is a must visit cafe in varkala. Their food is really good and the view is simply awesome. Para-motoring happens right over this cafe and you can get a lot in your photos. The wait time is very less and the staff are very very tactful and trained . We tried the pink marinara pasta and there are a lot of vegetarian options. The butternut squash soup was really top-notch. The tiramisu coffee and shortbread coffe are to be definitely tried.

The food was really good, especially the baked items and the view was great too. The only drawback was having to wait for an hour, and then not being able to order from the breakfast menu due to their timing policy. We reached the place before 11, but were denied breakfast since we got a table just five minutes before the breakfast service ended. Definitely one of the best sunset cafés in Varkala, after Sarwa imo.

Went to Cafe Trip is Life for breakfast. We ordered a berry smoothie bowl which was awesome, a cheese omelette that was good, and a freshly baked butter croissant. Overall, the main highlight of the place is the ambience with a sea view from the cliff. The food is good, nothing extraordinary, but quite similar to what most other cafes in Varkala offer.

The **staff was quick, friendly, and attentive**, ensuring a pleasant meal. **The only suggestion we have is regarding the facilities.** For a dhaba that serves such high-quality food, the management should focus on maintaining a **cleaner and more hygienic toilet** area for guests.

The service is worst as the guy over there is acting up as he’s paying for us. If you have 2 hrs to waste then go to this restaurant. And finally what they’ll serve will be total disappointment. Paneer butter masala was served in a red coloured water with 5 pieces. And when we ordered dal dry they charged for dal tadka, so kindly recheck the bill. Their tactics for making money is by selling the most demanding bread, which is chapati for 25 rs. Overall absolutely not recommended . Food preparation takes minimum 1 hr, keep in mind.

When i crave for authentic north indian food, I visit here. They don't "malayalify" the elements. Proper north indian food.

The first time I had food from here, the coffee and dosas were so delicious.Reminded me of those old tamil thattukadas.But they are not consistent in their cooking.Coffee and ada dosa tasted awful the last time. Interiors are not as clean as you want to be.A lot of noise and people shouting from the kitchen. An extra star for their 'kaaravada' because it was unique and tasty.

The place is well maintained. Slight improvement in the sambar is advisable as it felt like watery. The tomato chutney served was excellent and spicy too. Fair enough to fill your tummy for a yummy breakfast. They have good variety menu available. Neat and well maintained.

I went to this restaurant after hearing a lot of good reviews, but my experience was not that great. The place did not look clean, the sinks were clogged, and the surroundings were unpleasant. To make it worse, I even found hair strands on the plate. We ordered parotta, dosa and bhatura. The parotta was not soft; it was heavy and hard to finish. Overall, the food did not match the hype and felt overpriced for the quality. Honestly, it was not worth the visit, and I won't suggest this place to others.

A budget restaurant located at a really good location. The restaurant mainly offers two combos, Chicken Curry Combo and Chilli Chicken Combo. Lot of people regularly visit this restaurant because the pricing of dishes is made reasonable and they serve with decent quantity and quality as well. I had the Chilli Chicken Combo which costed ₹109/- and 2 extra Parotta which costed ₹12/- per piece. The Combo comes with 3 Parottas along with Chilli Chicken.

Ah yes ! The iconic GP Hotel of Trivandrum. Being a trivian, never got the chance to visit this place until today. Went there for the Pazhampori and Beef combo but unfortunately the Pazhampori was over as we reached a bit late (8pm). But we decided not to turn back and ordered the Parotta and Beef fry combo. The porotta was reallyyy good as it was just made hot-hot. While coming to the beef, the taste and the flavours were great.. but the beef was a bit hard. For anyone coming for pazhampori, it starts as early as 6am and Beef as early as 9am. And note that Pazhampori gets over by 6:30-7pm.. so don't be late like us if u wanna try out the iconic combo. Anyways I'll be back for having out the Pazhampori+Beef combo. Cheers.

Tasty beef roast and porotta at affordable rates here in GP hotel.They are famous for their banana fry and beef combo but personally I didn't like the combo as the sweetness of banana dominates the taste of beef. Surprised by the rate at which they serve the dishes with good quantity and quality. Both beef biryani and beef roast cost 100 each. Porotta with beef roast is a must try here. Located opposite SRKM hospital, parking is a hassle

Editing the review after 6 years, Worst food. All the items ordered was tasting sweet, even the gravy provided was sweet as if they have added sugar. The poroto was not cooked properly and tasted sweet, The beef Fry ordered was sweet and had 1/3rd fat and flubbery pieces. Even the banana Fritters( pazhampori ordered was extra sweetened and was rubbery bcoz of the maida mix used, utter disappointed by the restaurant this time. Hope they will look into it and fix the dishes peoperly. One of the best beef fry in trivandrum. I go here only for that. The much hyped pazhampori beef combo isn't always good as most of the time i got under ripe hard banana. They go wrong in selecting banana for sure. Hats off to the beef. Porotta or meals are all average level items. Its a very old restaurant so that pazhama can be felt in everything. Beef is must try Update Tried chocken biryani and its the worst. Please avoid
