Rude Staff – Worst Customer Service Ever
I had a terrible experience at Hotel Akshaya. We just asked for a lime juice, and the customer service employee who serves food – an aged, tall man – behaved very rudely. His arrogant tone and disrespectful attitude ruined the entire visit. We were shocked by how badly we were treated for such a simple request. the lime juice we were served was just as bad – watery, tasteless. Terrible service, terrible food. This was honestly the worst customer service I’ve ever faced. I will never go back, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone who expects even basic courtesy.
I had a very bad experience at Akshaya Hotel, Poothole. The food quality was extremely poor, and shockingly, my daughter vomited after eating from here. This clearly shows a lack of hygiene and safety. When I considered raising this matter with the food authorities, the hotel staff even threatened me instead of taking responsibility. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous. Strict action should be taken against such places. I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel for the sake of their health and safety.

We ordered Ghee rice chicken curry and parotta Pepper chicken gravy. But what they served was not ghee rice it was plain fried rice added some ghee over it. Next they brought chicken manjurian gravy and arguing us to believe it's chicken pepper gravy. Went with kids and big disappointment. Told to the cashier that any item is not available just say no instead of bringing something else. Bad experience.
I ordered biryani for Rs. 184. The biryani is delicious. But the quantity of rice is very very less. Why do they cheat people like this?
The beef is just amazing,went there with my cousin's to have lunch the place is really one off, it's different from all the other restaurants which I have seen in that area, and I really don't think that there is any other place which offers such tasty beef, it was really good. I really had a good time there. The place is very clean and tidy it's really good that they maintain it that way. Really loved the food there. If you're looking for a place which is pretty clean this is the place that I'll suggest for them and for the beef lovers out there.

Well, if you’re a fan of hospitality, never go here. Why? Because you’re completely on your own! You’ll have to search for a seat yourself—no one from the restaurant will help you. So consider this a warning.
On the positive side, the food is tasty and the service is quick. I tried the masala dosa and Malabar parotta. The parotta was large and came with two vegetable curries—try the yellow one, it’s good. Price-wise, it’s reasonable: neither too high nor too low. One quirky thing in Kerala is that they serve hot water to drink, and no one bothers to tell you beforehand!
I’m also giving one or two stars less because the restaurant guard showed no compassion for animals. A cat tried to enter the parking area, and he rudely shooed it away.
Hotel Bharath is a spacious and very well-maintained place with great seating arrangements. Everything is super clean and comfortable. The staff were really cool and served quickly. I had curd vada — creamy, sweet, and slightly tangy — the star of my meal! The filter coffee was on another level, especially with the cutlet. Chapathi with kadala and kuruma was freshly made with grounded masala and full of flavor. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Thrissur town! 👌

Getting a table often depends on how “smart” or pushy one can be, rather than a fair system.
A simple solution, like maintaining a waiting list with names on a first-come-first-serve basis (as many other restaurants do), would greatly improve the dining experience. Until then, one has to deal with the chaos to enjoy the otherwise excellent food.

Very good hotel. Tast foods , perfectly hygiene and professional staffs. The only problem is long waiting due to heavy rush. The chances of getting free hotel parking is also less if you are comming on peak hours. However paid parkingbis available near to the hotel.

During my morning bike ride, I had a wonderful breakfast at this historical tea shop. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food, especially considering their limited interior space. Interestingly, they have a prepaid dining system on the ground floor, unlike upstairs. While the service wasn't as refined as in larger restaurants, the overall old-school ambiance made for a good experience.

I visited Radhakrishna Coffee Club recently and ordered ghee roast and coffee. The coffee was good, but the chutney and sambar were not as tasty as before – I missed the flavor I enjoyed on my earlier visit. Service was quite slow; we had to pay the bill first and then wait more than 20 minutes for the waiter to come near our table. Hoping they improve the service and bring back the same food quality as before
Had the legendary Radhakrishna Uppuma and it didn't disappoint :) The chutney and sambhar are awesome and add just the right flavour to the Uppuma.

Food tastes delicious. The hygiene level is very bad. Proper cleaning is not done. Dining tables are dirty. They just wipe it and don't even bother to clean it properly. The hand wash area is so pathetic, the spider web is all over the places and taps are not maintained well.

The iconic restaurant’s food taste and hygiene have declined noticeably compared to earlier days. Cleanliness definitely needs improvement. Unfortunately, I even had a stomach upset after having the chicken curry. Hope the management takes this feedback seriously and restores the quality that Indian Coffee House is known for. Thx

Had really good experience on visiting here. Had veg meals along with vattam fish curry and kozhuva fry. The fish curry was really good and the gravy was full of flavours. Something that I couldn't agree on was with the kozhuva fry, it felt like the fish was not cleaned properly. The heads and fins of the fish were all over the dish. The veg meals was remarkable served with about 10-12 curries wheat payasam and thick curd.

I have been visiting Akshaya Restaurant for a long time, and it used to be one of my favourites in Thrissur. After a gap, I revisited, but unfortunately, the quality has gone down.
We ordered chicken biryani and fish curry meals, but both were unsatisfactory and below average. The biryani was very dry, and the chicken was too hard. Earlier, they used to serve food on warm plates, but now that isn’t the case. Even the drinking water was served hot, but not now
The table we dined at was also not clean, despite the restaurant not being crowded. Overall, my experience was disappointing, and Akshaya no longer feels like the restaurant I once loved.

I had a bad experience at Akshaya Hotel on High Road. The place was also not clean. I was very disappointed I found a fruit fly in the lime juice and a hair in the egg curry. We paid ₹125.00 and told the staff about it, but they didn’t seem to care much. The food was not clean, and the service was poor. I will not visit again and don’t recommend this place to others.
One of the best places for dinner with tasty food and decent portions. Along with porotta, chapathi and rice, their puttu, appam, kappa-meen curry combo is a highlight. Veg and non-veg options available. Limited parking and average washroom facilities are the drawbacks.

Never really understood the hype around this place..The famed cutlets were such a let down..only redeeming factor was that it was hot while served, but tastewise it was a disaster all potato with traces of beef . The sugary diluted tomato syrup they serve with it was equally bad. Coffee too didnt help things . It looks like People go there for purely nostalgic reasons. Food definitely ain't it.

I've been here multiple times. Food was good. I tried chicken biryani, masala dosa and poori masala. Coffee is also good. There is an ample parking ground near the building but it's paid parking. The parking near the Indian coffee house is full most of the times

One of the oldest and biggest coffee house in town, located very nearby to vadake bus stand.
It has seating in ground floor and first floor for families, mostly crowded all time of the day and the dining options are good here.
Don’t expect high end dining experience or anything from here, there are some cleaning issues and place is a little messy but as someone who is been visiting here for a while I would always love to go and try different foods every now and then.
There is bathroom facilities also and again don’t expect much cleanliness, it’s maintained to the best possible way with a great service.

The hotel currently seems to be run from an old traditional home, probably belongs to the owners.
The roads leading here are slightly narrow and it's a bit challenging to find the place.
The place has enough parking on the backyard.
Also enough area for dining in the front yard and is very well kept and hygienic. Service was quick and they are open early morning from 7am.

Good place to break for a quick stop for breakfast and lunch on your trip between Coimbatore to Cochin. Staff are friendly and quick to attend. Place is crowded and the food is fresh. Tried four chicken biryanis from this place, but honestly, not worth the ₹210 each. The chicken pieces were super disappointing just one bony piece and a small leg. At that price, they should at least give decent quantity and quality. Definitely not coming back here again.

We had our lunch from this hotel on 26/07/2025. We had full chicken biriyani. The quantity was too less for 190 rupees.. Not only that after taking biriyani all of us suffered from diarrhea & other stomach problems on next day...If you are running a hotel check the quality of food too... My 4 year old was also affected by your low quality food.. Who knows how many days old chicken you served us....

I ordered beef biriyani cause I was curious why it was cheaper than chicken biriyani but then when it came I understood why it was cheap. The quantity of the rice is very less it was just like a snack but the quantity of beef was good and the taste was also good just needed a lil bit more rice. Mutton biriyani had only 2 pieces but there was a lot of rice so they didn't get sufficient pieces and had to eat plain rice at last.

I recently attended an award function hosted at this hotel, and the experience was absolutely appalling. The service was completely unacceptable from the moment I arrived.
The food served was of extremely poor quality — far below what any professional establishment should offer. To make matters worse, the staff were consistently rude and dismissive. Any request for assistance was met with either indifference or outright unprofessional behavior.
As an invited guest, I felt completely embarrassed not only for myself but also for those I had recommended this hotel to. The lack of basic hospitality and respect shown to guests was shocking. It was humiliating to be treated in such a manner during what should have been a celebratory occasion.
The service provided here does not even meet the minimum standards expected of any star hotel. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise the public never to host any event at this hotel. They do not respect their guests, and they do not deliver even the basics of quality service.
This hotel has severely damaged its reputation, and unless there is a complete overhaul of management and service standards, it cannot be trusted for any professional or private function.
I demand that I be connected with the hotel management immediately to discuss this matter further.
Our stay was deeply frustrating due to the very poor room service. It took over two hours for food to be delivered, leaving my two-year-old son hungry and uncomfortable despite making multiple calls. The staff were unresponsive, especially when trying to place a breakfast order — calls went unanswered and there was no follow-up.
On top of that, they charge even for basic water bottles, and not at reasonable rates. For the price we paid, the service was far below expectations — even a standard 3-star hotel offers much better hospitality.
Not worth the money, and I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone.

One layer again these veggies plus cheese and little boiled type smashed chicken and one layer again cucumber.at first we thought it's veg sandwich and asked them again abt this whether it's mistake from their side.ALSO ASKED WHERE IS GRILLED CHICKEN INSIDE..To our surprise they told it's the same one we ordered ..only the bread is grilled ..and not chicken...that too charged on higher side.same was the case of SCRAMBLED EGG SANDWICH WITH CHEESE!!!!

Visited for dinner with family. Parking available for about six cars. The restaurant was clean except for the washrooms, and a few wobbly chairs. Ordered porota, chapati, beef roast, egg curry, and mixed veg curry. Chapati was good, porota average, and beef roast too salty. Service was fair but could improve.
Today, on my way to Ernakulam, I stopped at this hotel. The waiter came to take my order after half an hour. I have never eaten such bad food in a long time. The staff and the people at the cash register were very rude. If possible, do not waste your money or your stomach by going to this hotel.they donot deserve a single star.

Poorest service ever from a hostel. After sitting for around 15 minutes.One arougent waiter came and asked what you want and while asking for meals he said not available then ask for chilcken biriyani not available nothing was available he is telling in a way that he have some revenge on me. And if you want to eat , eat what I give . One of the worst experience ever. Never recommended for family. If you are a traveler through thrissur dont go here . After calling them we ask for water an araugent waiter I have seen came .while asking the meals and other items he said it is over and there is nobody in the hotel waiting will be there something bla bla . Last day in my first visit itself the hotel gave me a stomach problem through their special gopi manchurian dry fry, ordered by me. So be careful while ordering food from here. Sri Mu Saravana Bhavan, located in Perambra near Pota, adjacent to the National Highway, is a reliable vegetarian dining option for highway travelers. Its visibility from the highway makes it easily accessible. The restaurant offers a spacious dining area, though it can get busy during lunch hours. The overall atmosphere appears tidy.
Our order of Poori Bhaji, Masala Dosa, and Coffee was of decent quality. However, prices are noticeably higher compared to other restaurants. Sweets are available for purchase near the counter.
Parking is provided both in front and on the inner side of the compound. Washrooms are located at the back and needs improvement in cleanliness. Notably, the same premises also house a lodging facility and a bar.
The food was okay, but the overall cleanliness needs serious improvement. There were flies around the tables and seating area, which made the experience uncomfortable. The washrooms were also not maintained properly. Hygiene definitely needs more attention here. With some improvements, it could be a much better place.
My first time there, grabbing breakfast during a ride, left me with mixed feelings. The food was decent enough, just okay really, but the cleanliness and organization of the place, especially the washrooms, definitely need improvement. On the plus side, they do have a large parking area which is convenient for all kinds of vehicles.

Visited Saravana Bhavan recently and had a great experience! The masala dosa was crispy, flavorful, and served with a generous helping of chutneys and sambar—just the way it should be. The potato filling was well-spiced and fresh.
The filter coffee was equally impressive—strong, aromatic, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. It’s one of those places where the coffee truly hits the spot after a good South Indian meal.
The place was clean, service was quick, and the overall atmosphere felt authentic and welcoming. Great spot if you're craving classic South Indian breakfast.
The location is good. There is a big difference in the saravana bhavan in tamil nadu and kerala. Normally I prefer saravana bhavan during the travel. But difference branches gave me different experiences. I will say this branches will destroy the name of this brand.

Ac room is available. But ac is not working.
It's not as clean as expected, and flies are roaming around.
