Cafe
Cafe Ariete is a popular choice among locals due to its lively ambiance and delectable treats. The coffee served here is exceptional, reflecting the passion and expertise of Russell and his team. They have mastered the art of brewing to perfection. One must not miss the renowned Ecclefechan tart, named after a nearby town, which boasts a delectable crust filled with an assortment of dried fruits.
I found myself in Moffat, early on a Sunday Morning, looking for breakfast and not expecting to find much. Google maps told me cafe Ariete opened at 8, so I thought I would give it a try. The cafe was surprisingly busy, including families, staff were friendly and cheerful and I was given a menu. I took a traditional breakfast with a choice of bread and scrambled or fried eggs, a cappuccino and some water. The food arrived quite quickly and was very good. I was pleased there were no beans, I can't cope with them and eggs touching each other. The atmosphere was good, a lot of effort has gone into decor, making it look like an old- fashioned cafe, yet with some modern touches at the same time. Staff checked that everything was okay in passing, and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I commented that I was surprised they were open that early on a Sunday, and they said the summer had been quite busy. All-in- all a pleasant find with good food and friendly staff.
James W — Google review
Nice cafe for a quick bite. A good range of choices on the menu all served without fuss. Prices are reasonable. Un like some food places in Moffat, the service was a lot better.
T R — Google review
Lovely little cafe. I’ve stayed in Scotland all week and this was the best breakfast I’ve had all week. The sausages were lush! Very attentive and quick service. Although young staff, all there very confident and happy to serve. Lovely little place! See you when I come back up north!
Jade C — Google review
Happy, attentive and considerate staff. Sat us in an easy location to store our motorcycle helmets. Food was exactly what we wanted for a reasonable price too. This cafe is run extremely well and will be somewhere I return. Can't wait to visit again!
Matthew C — Google review
Lovely place in the heart of Moffat! We were visiting on our way up to the Highlands and it was great seeing so many locals having breakfast and coffee there. Service was wonderful, the young lad who served us was super friendly and attentive, and even though they were quite busy he kept checking on us and everyone else to make sure everything was okay. We had the veggie breakfast (£9) and scrambled eggs with salmon (£9.90), all delicious and very generous portions. We were also pleasantly surprised with the coffee, barista-style, smooth and well poured - extra points for having oat milk! Overall, I highly recommend this place for breakfast or even just a stop for a nice coffee. For those travelling with pet companions, sadly they don’t allow dogs inside (that’s our only ‘but’!)
Alexa R — Google review
I’m sure it was being run by teenagers…. But it was fantastic. They were so friendly. The music and decor were fab too. Great vegan breakfast and they were happy for me to charge my phone and battery pack.
ECO B — Google review
Lovely cafe. It was almost full when we arrived but we were served immediately and didn't have to wait long for our order. The food was great quality and quantity, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

The Cafe Royal is a charming spot with delicious food and reasonable prices. Visitors rave about the Haddock and chips, gourmet burger, Mac and cheese, hog roast mac and cheese, haggis and tatty scone butty, battered sausage, and latte. The staff are friendly and the customer service is top-notch. It's also dog-friendly!
Absolute gem of a place. Restaurant, food and people are all top notch. We were made very welcome to good food
Alison B — Google review
Can't get away from Robert Burns! Visited lots of sites associated with him earlier this year and by chance the place we decide to have lunch at, also has a connection. That aside, we had a good family lunch in the restaurant. Between us we had a battered haddock, 2 macaroni cheeses and a macaroni cheese pie. Portions are decent and we took advantage of asking for a doggy bag to take excess chips home. There is a varied menu with good options for kids and vegetarians.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Love this place, whenever we're near by we make sure we eat here. Staff are always friendly and cheery. Freshly cooked food, crisp and fluffy chips and lightly battered haddock - deeeeelish!
Charlotte N — Google review
Such a lovely and cute place. Nice Haddock meal and very friendly staffs. Went from Newcastle and left 2 Ecliars as a tip😊

Wow such a lovely cafe! We stopped on the drive back home from our holiday for breakfasts as I had seen a photo of their cooked breakfasts on Facebook and we were not disappointed! The breakfast had everything I hoped for and it was gorgeous. Lorne sausages, tattie scones, haggis and bacon to name a few things that were on the plate. We also had French toast with cherries which I am craving now is was so yummy. The staff here are very happy and friendly and the toilets were immaculate which always reassures me in eating places! Would definitely come here again and recommend. Lots of seating inside and I saw some outside too and there is a big town car park at the back too which makes it very handy for stopping by.

Nice cafe in the centre of Annan serving a variety of traditional dishes such as fish and chips, steak pie and chips, burger and chips, etc. The staff were particularly friendly, when I spilled my drink they rushed to sort it out for me and service was very quick in general. The food was good quality, the chips were particularly good, they hadn't fried them to death like some places. Value wise, not really much different to a lot of places these days, prices were fair for what you got. Establishment was very clean. Thanks 👍
Jamie T — Google review
I ordered a gourmet burger today ordered 47, too much slop in the burger could not ever difference if it was grass fed or not. Too much sauce I just fed it to the dog very disappointed. Never had a bad meal but this was one inedible.
Jasmin P — Google review
It's a chippy. While everything was fine, nothing was impressive. The fish and chips were OK, as were the soup and Panini, but I've had much better in other places. The portion size is good. If you're thinking about eating here, go for it, you won't leave disappointed, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Cafe 91 is a charming little eatery with superb quality dishes that are both delectable and filling. The staff provides excellent service, making it a place worth revisiting. Inadvertently ordering the vegetarian burger didn't disappoint as much as expected, proving that it's just as satisfying as its meaty counterpart. Undoubtedly, Cafe 91 serves the best Scottish breakfast one could ever ask for, catering perfectly to those craving a hearty post-hangover meal.
Great food, good coffee, and service with a smile. It was empty when I arrived first thing within the hour it was filling up. I can totally see why!

Lovely vegetarian breakfast ,it would have been even better with some eggs . It was really nice ,harsh brown weren’t oily ,I loved the spinach and avocado on the side . I really enjoyed it and My daughter loved her pancakes. She kept going hmm 😋 delicious. The bacon was grilled not fried .just perfect .she wanted chocolate but I’m glad they didn’t come with chocolate😀 Service was okay ,the girl came to clean our table and sprayed the table with the cleaning spray and it was spraying all over us.

Cafe based on the main street in town centre. Friendly staff, substantial menu choices from sandwiches, paninis, salad to good old fashioned pies, scampi, lasagne etc. Food looking very appetising and tasting absolutely deliciously. Slightly long waiting time

What a great find this place is. Travelling from the South to Glasgow along the old roads and stopped for lunch here. Quite busy and popular with the locals. Great service and good food. I was so Impressed I stopped here again on my way south for breakfast. And again the service was excellent and the cooked breakfast was piping hot and cooked to order and I was able to change the offerings to suit myself.

What a lovely, and very busy day cafe just a shame the weather was bad. We when we were going to watch the common riding but ended up coming home. Shame but we had seen it last year. Hope everyone's day was good.

Called after visiting the Memorial Garden. Nice local café. Friendly staff , I had a coffee and steak, mushroom and onion panini. The food came in good time and was very good. For such a small town I'd call the cafe bustling. Prices are very reasonable. I will go there again if I'm in the area . I parked for free on the road nearby, think you can actually park outside but don't know how long for. There's a selection of homemade cakes and it is also licensed. Easy 5 stars

With their trusty Big Agnes tent named Aggie and a large backpack in tow, the customer found the girls working there to be delightful. The establishment impressed with its excellent coffee, top-notch service, and fantastic location. It is highly recommended for anyone seeking a pleasant experience.
Friendly staff at the counter order and delicious coffee! We stopped by for lunch while waiting for the afternoon train to Glasgow. The place has such a cozy and comfortable feel to it. We both had a coffee each and some sandwiches and they were all very tasty! I wish I had yummy left for dessert because there are so many good looking pastries!

Stopped in for coffee and a cake after having a wee wander round Stranraer, the cake cabinet is a visual delight and made it hard to choose from all the yummy looking treats, we went with the New York Wheel, and a slice of lime on coconut cake. Both lived up to their visual appeal with great texture and flavour. Washed down with a Mocha Frappe, perfect pit stop. Staff were lovely and friendly too 🙂

Nestled in a picturesque location, The Ark is a delightful tea room that truly feels like a hidden treasure. With an extensive menu featuring freshly made sandwiches piled high with fillings and fluffy homemade scones, every bite is a treat. Their cakes evoke the comforting flavors of home, reminiscent of those baked by beloved grandmothers.
Very charming place, both indoor (with two spezial places in the bay window) and outdoor (simple and thus preferred wooden bench and table, overlooking bay and inflowing river). They offer sweet and savory, both with great choices, including for veggies. We had scones and clutted cream (the last one :) and cheesecake, both very delicious. People are very friendly and accomodating, so to return soon...

Buzzing little cafe and shop in beautiful Kippford. Sit outside and watch the yachts sail past or inside in a warm, comfortable atmosphere with friendly, efficient service. Cappuccino and a bacon roll are terrific, the cakes and scones (with real clotted cream) are sumptuous and the soup and sandwich combo is super value. Open all year. What’s not to like.

What a place. I’ve been here numerous times in the past, and today I made the trip down for the day. First stop was The Arc. Grabbed a table outside overlooking the Estuary and then ordered a Panani for myself and my friend ordered a toastie. They do all sorts of foods and cakes, and I even got some ice cream before I left. In fact even got a picture too to take home. A great wee gem which has an attached small shop and a great ice cream selection. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic cafe overlooking the water. The menu is so good and the prices extremely fair. The cheese scone was delicious! Delighted also to get a GF toastie! Again….delicious. Coffee is quality as well. Great service, friendly and professional. If you visit the beautiful village of Kippford you have to come to this cafe!

Superb location. Friendly staff. Small parking area nearby. Oat and soya milks available and VEGAN cakes (two choices - brownies recommended!). Limited plant-based food options.
Jeremy G — Google review
Lovely setting by the estuary, helped by the warm sunny October weather. Good range of simple food, with the flying haggis burger and quiche both standouts. The seasoned wedges were a bit disappointing as they were more like French fries. Friendly staff
Graham W — Google review
What a fantastic little gem of a tea room. The food was really good, loads of choice on the menu. Sandwiches are on really fresh bread and rammed with filling, scones are homemade and fluffy and the homemade cakes taste just like my Nannas, delicious. We had a table reserved in a lovely spot in the window overlooking the harbour. The tea room was busy but it didn't feel hectic. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I wish this place was on our doorstep as we'd be frequent visitors. We'll definitely be back.

Nestled in the charming town of Castle Douglas, The Scottish Pantry is a beloved café and restaurant that has made a name for itself not only for its delightful dining experience but also for its exceptional outside catering services. Specializing in home-baked goods and menus featuring local produce, this establishment caters to a variety of events including weddings, corporate gatherings, business meetings, and private parties.
I recently visited The Scottish Pantry for a full Scottish breakfast, and I must say, the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. From the moment I walked through the door, the warm greeting and friendly atmosphere set the tone for what turned out to be an incredibly enjoyable meal. The breakfast itself was a true delight. It included all the Scottish classics—haggis, black pudding, bacon, pork sausage, a perfectly fried egg, mushrooms, baked beans, fried tomato, a potato scone, and toast. Every bite was delicious, with the rich flavours of the haggis and black pudding standing out in particular. The portion was generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. To top it off, I enjoyed a fab latte that paired beautifully with the meal, making it the perfect way to start the day. The service was attentive and welcoming throughout, and even as I left, I was sent off with a smile. I’ll definitely be returning for more of their fantastic food and hospitality. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy an authentic Scottish breakfast experience!

Outstanding customer service and tasty made foods and drinks at unbeatable prices sets The Scottish Pantry well above all others. The Mega Burger was big, tasty and very filling, with Chips Salad and sauces for £10 a great feed. The Baked Potato (pumpkin size 😂) with Coleslaw and Mushrooms was equally more than a mouthful leaving us both energized to walk our daily 10,000 steps around the countryside. Passing onto the family our thanks and support was the least we could do...keep up the great work... "Tip" get there early or be happy to wait, so popular it is... 👍

A beautiful place. Set like a designer airport restaurant with competitive prices and tasty food. Exhausting choice of bakery. Good quantity and quality of breakfast. Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. Bread was superb. Could add some optional salad as it goes well with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

Looking for a Scottish breakfast only place open in Dumfries. So bad, you could knock someone out with that bacon, food was cold and just gross. Here’s my leftovers. We paid £28 for two breakfasts Although the coffee was nice! Toilets had no tissue in I had to ask at the desk and the lady still hasn’t replenished and it’s been an hour.

Dropped on for food, didn't realize it's a chain restaurant..I think it's an attempt at a comfy seat American diner. Food was not fantastic. We both ordered sandwiches and I ordered a separate side of fries..having paid extra for the fries lost the salad and slaw from my sandwich..the chicken was dry and bread not amazing..the shakes were lovely
Alison B — Google review
An absolute disgrace. Ordered a "berry stack" pancake for my eldest son - they had run out of pancakes and so waffles were the alternative. When it arrived "topped with fresh berries" in reality meant half of one strawberry. When I raised this with the (very pleasant) girl who was serving, a dirty oven style tray of two/three cut up strawberries was sent to the table. My youngest son's "hot dog meal" kid's meal was not much better, it consisted of a sausage in a very dry/stale hot dog roll which appeared to have been partially ripped in half and some well below average chips. In addition, filthy tables which I had to ask to wiped of residual food. Whoever has stewardship of this outlet should be ashamed of themselves. They are making a living serving muck masquerading as food and it is despicable.
David N — Google review
We got the pancakes stuck and two coffees. I did order an extra portion of strawberries but it was not acknowledged although I did order on the machine perhaps it was not seen. The coffee was okay wasn’t great and it was very lukewarm when we got it so we had to get boiling water to make it hotter. I would’ve given the five star rating on this establishment apart from the coffee and the lack of the extra portion which was ordered.
Shane M — Google review
We came I to Dumfries late afternoon to do a few things, so it was nice to find somewhere that was open later than most (to 6pm) so we could have a sit down and a drink. The pleasant thing for us as well at this time of day (5pm) it was really quiet in here, so easy to get served and relaxing to sit for a while. They had an afternoon offer on for a hot drink and mince pie, which we went for and we enjoyed. We had the candy cane hot chocolate and the caramel fudge latte. Both were tasty, but sticky! And the mince pies with crumble topping were good too. The only thing I would say was that when ordering, the offer for the mince pie and drink, with its times and drink flavours was displayed on the digital screens as part of the menu as a rolling advert. So it would be on the screen for a few seconds and then off again and we'd have to wait for it to come back to see the drink options so we could choose. It wasn't only us, it was the girl serving us as well as I think she wasn't used to it either. So that took us a little time to sort out and get through, but we got there in the end.
Sam P — Google review
Lovely cafe. Had to wait 50 minutes for food today that they said was due to high order of deliveries but we weren't told beforehand. To be fair we did get free cake as an apology for the wait and the food was really good. Staff members were really nice and friendly, could not be more accomodating. Regardless of the wait I would definitely go again. The air conditioning was amazing especially since it was about 30 degrees out.
Sam S — Google review
I thought the food was good, but the staff at the counter need to work on their customer service skills, it was not a warm welcome, felt more like we were an inconvenience. The lads that brought the food out of the kitchen were friendly and polite. My main issue with the place was that it was grotty, the tables were sticky, leather seats ripped open, dirty floor, even the entrance was dirty.

Morrisons Cafe is a delightful spot to unwind after a shopping spree, offering a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy a cup of tea and indulge in some delicious cake. The menu features an appealing selection of dishes, with the 'cream tea' for one being particularly popular for its excellent value. While service may occasionally be slow due to staffing at the till, the wait is generally brief. Many visitors rave about their experiences here, especially praising the hearty Scottish breakfast that leaves you feeling satisfied and full.
I’ve been to this Morrisons cafe a few times now and the food is great you can’t beat it . I’ve tried the local Tesco and Wetherspoons and they don’t compare , I always have the Scottish breakfast.I can never finish it as it’s so filling , the staff are always friendly and the place is clean .
The L — Google review
For Morrisons, the food is subpar. It used to be good here. There is a disconnect also between what's available on the app Vs what's available on the counter, like the cakes for example. The quality of the food was poor, it wasn't cook very well, chips were under done, eggs were overdone. The staff seem under duress so if they weren't very helpful I can see why. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Also find it bizarre they use bad ingredients like tinned peas and run out of square sausages when there is a fully stocked supermarket next to it!
Jon B — Google review
Wow this place needs closing, diabolical food and cutlery was filthy and smelly. It is basic microwave precooked breakfast items. Utter vile. The staff are very rude, don’t dare ask for any changes you will be scolded for it. The place is just not nice at all. I used to go to Morrisons cafe on a stop off but the services are far cleaner and nicer. Sort it out Morrisons.
Jo W — Google review
Absolutely horrendous customer service and qaulity of food. I ordered a chicken burger with chips and salad. The salad had plastic in it and my girlfriend was served a frozen cheesecake. I tried to tell a server about the plastic I had found and she dismissed me by saying "I'm busy serving customers" and walked away as if I wasn't also a customer. Initially I was only telling them because I didn't want it to happen to anyone else, I didn't even want a refund. After the atrocious customer service I logged the complaint formally and did receive a refund. Awful experience.

The cafe was dirty understaffed no white rolls for a chip butty despite plenty on supermarket shelf. Chips were cold and cake in chilly was dried out and tasted stale. No cuttlery i.e. tea spoons no cartons of milk and no servietes. What else can you expect. Customer services only direct you to going on line to complain. No customer skills. This is a regular place for me and my wife but we give the cafe a wide birth from now on. The place and the supermarket are going down hill fast. Even the shelves are half empty at 1500 hrs. No bread and nothing being baked. Head for Tesco Lidl or Aldi where they have stock on the shelves. Even the staff I spoke to agreed with my points. Come on Morrison's buck your ideas up.

Brilliant value, and lovey staff. It's a shame that of us Lorry drivers dont clean up after themselves. Couple times I went in the toilets and they were very clean, went in at 1am and they weren't very clean at all, they just can't clean them all the while. Why can't we just remember the next person using them. Ham Salad and chips I had was unbelievable value and very fresh.

Secure parking, lovely cafe, pub, and shop on site. Dedicated area at the back for fridges. Only downside, the showers aren't ideal. Curtain closed cubicle with no space to put your clothes/towel so they end up damp. Other than that, no fault.

If you find yourself in Langholm, make sure to stop by First Bite, a charming café that has quickly become a favorite among locals and travelers alike. This delightful spot offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where the friendly staff are always ready to assist with a smile. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast or just want to indulge in some delicious homemade cakes like their light lemon and white chocolate cheesecake, First Bite has something for everyone.
We popped in today on our way back from a hike locally. We had not been before. We will be back because the cafe is lovely and the food excellent and it’s reasonably priced. We all had a slice of lemon and white chocolate cheesecake which was light and absolutely delicious and definitely home made. With a flat white the coffee is also very good indeed.

Delicious food and incredible service. The lovely owner spent time chatting away to us telling us about all sorts of interesting local things too - very friendly, we were made to feel right at home.

Riding my motorbike from Land's End to John O'Groats , so having a good breakfast is a must. This is my fourth cooked breakfast in various cafes en route and by far the best. Centrally located and could park directly outside. Popular cafe but managed to get a seat easily. The service was first class, and the coffee and food provided a perfect setup for the day.

First Bite was recommended to us and it lived up to all expectations! Friendly and welcoming staff, speedy service despite the cafe being busy, dog friendly and delicious sandwiches and cake. What more could you want!

Good coffee and a Chai Latte. I had the poached eggs with haggis and peppery holdaise sause on a muffin. A coronation chicken wrap and sausage roll to take away, all for £11.50. Good food, great value
Henry R — Google review
Lovely little cafe in the center of the town, no problem taking our dog in and staff were most welcoming. Food looked good and the cakes were to die for, they even had traditional Bara Brith which is normally associated with Wales so truly a multicultural cafe.

We have nothing but good things to say about this cafe. We visited today for the first time while passing through Langholm. The service was great warm, welcoming, helpful and polite, it was nice to find young people who were so pro-active and on top of things. The food was lovely, hot soup and coffee (not lukewarm) fresh bread and generous sandwiches. Well done to you all, you’ve nailed it.

Really nice cafe, friendly staff plenty of places to sit. If the sausage rolls and quiche are as nice as the cakes they'll be delicious.

Nestled in the heart of Dumfries, Tarff Town & Country is a delightful destination for families venturing into farming. The knowledgeable and approachable staff, including Nicola and Colin, are always ready to lend a helping hand. Visitors rave about the extensive selection of country clothing, pet supplies, and unique gifts available at this charming shop. The café adds to the experience with its inviting atmosphere and delicious offerings like hearty soup and delectable giant shortbread that keeps customers coming back for more.
Our family is new to farming and the staff at Tarff have been so helpful in pointing us in the right direction. Particularly Nicola at Dumfries and Colin at Castle Douglas...such a great friendly and approachable team with plenty of knowledge and all happy to help. We have been impressed by the scope and will happily continue to use them going forwards.

Had coffee and cake ....cake a bit stale and very sweet , sickly sweet .Coffee was quite good had mocha . Quite expensive for what it was , wouldn't be inclined to use it again due to cost vs quality . Nice selection of country clothing and other goods.Prices of those seemed reasonably fair and would visit again to purchase .

When we came here as I stepped out of the car I slipped on the ice and ended up flat on my face. The car park was like an ice ring. I told the young lady on the checkout who seemed to just brush off the fact the car park was so slippery. I asked for the accident book and the chap I assume to be the manager told me the car park had been gritted.‘I said I did not see how as it was like an ice ring and his response left me speechless. “It is winter”. Sandwich was nice tho.

Exceptionally warm welcome from Michelle that makes you feel at home. Spacious room with everything you need and if you need anything they will go that extra mile to accommodate you. Delicious home cooked food at reasonable prices and food allergies are catered for with care & attention. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again!

Was welcomed to the Thistle Inn by Michelle who, through a local, offered to feed me even though they were closed to the public. Michelle had 3 residents staying and as they were having dinner she offered to make mine as well. On the first night I had an amazing Gammon and Eggs with sides of chips, beans & peas. The piece of gammon was huge but my God it was tasty. That was followed by sticky toffee pudding and freshly made custard. My waistline didn't enjoy the meal but I sure did. The second night I had haggis bon bons for starter then the thistle burger Again both courses brilliant. Michelle went out her way to feed me and I cannot recommend highly enough. Next time I am down that way I will be making sure i stay there as that's the kind of people/businesses I am more than happy to support. Absolutely top notch!

Such lovely hosts. I don't think they could have made us feel more welcome. I was only looking for a cheap hotel to break the journey northwards to Fort William and saw this had great reviews so gave it a try. The room was a decent size and very clean, the breakfast was nice and we were asked when we would like it so it could be ready quick when we arrived. All the staff were really friendly and seemed to have a genuine interest their customers. Also, unlike pretty much every hotel I have been in, the pricing of food and drinks is incredibly reasonable. I will definitely check this hotel next time I venture to the finer side of this island. Thank you :)

We had a large group booking for afternoon tea at The Granite Kitchen and we were all thoroughly impressed and delighted. The homemade food was delicious with a great variety to choose from. We couldn't finish everything, so we took some home in boxes. The staff were attentive, friendly, and accommodating to our different dietary needs. Sands of Luce Holiday Park is a modern holiday destination offering comfortable cabins with fully equipped kitchens, free Wi-Fi, and various dining options. The park is located on the expansive and sheltered Luce Sands beach, known for its three-mile stretch of sand. The beach is dog-friendly, lifeguarded, and features facilities such as toilets. Visitors can enjoy outdoor sports and scenic walks while admiring the beautiful views of the beach from the well-maintained touring facilities.
Wow! What a great site. Everything was super clean - bathrooms, laundry room, restaurants and facilities. For what we paid for a (Deluxe) pitch for our camper van, which is probably cheaper than a campsite pitch with basic facilities, this felt like luxury and a bargain! Electricity, water and beautiful sea views, easy access to the beach for our pooch to have a run, all on our pitch! Staff were super friendly! Showers were hot! Food from restaurant was spot on! It was a perfect stopover for our SWC300 trip. Don’t forget to say hi to the alpacas! Thank you for having us ☺️
Adventures_with_May — Google review
We don't usually stay on large sites like this but wanted somewhere for lunch the next day. Noted the bar was open and realised the site took tourers so booked in. What a beautiful site, well maintained with the touring pitches close to the beach, away from most of the statics. Large gravel pitches with electric, water and drainage. Wash facilities looked good but didn't really use them. Extremely lovely staff, very friendly and efficient.
Nicholas F — Google review
We had a lovely stay. Your site is spotless, the facilities are so good and the staff are friendly and efficient. The reason I dropped to four stars is the fact that you don't accept cash on site and that caused us some problems.
Helen W — Google review
We had a lovely time at Sands Of Luce, even with the terrible weather! We were a short walk from the beach, the kids spent lots of time at Golden Sands Animal Park and the park and play barn were great. We enjoyed a couple of meals in the Lighthouse too, and would highly recommend it. We would definitely go back, but would maybe wait for drier weather!
Stephanie K — Google review
This is a great holiday park. Had 5 days in a touring pitch overlooking the large, sandy beach. The park is quiet, well kept, has good facilities, and fair pricing. There was a 5 night minimum stay so we'd not be able to visit often but nonetheless would like to go back. The Mull of Galloway was good to visit too.
Mark H — Google review
We stayed in a touring caravan on the beach front. Beautiful setting would definitely recommend. Unfortunately the rain didn't stop for our weekend but we have a great time. Very dog friendly. It's a very short walk over the dunes to the beach, the dogs loved it. If you've got an awning don't forget rock pegs. Toilet block very clean and tidy. Recycling facilities available. Will definitely be back, hopefully with the sun.
Dianne C — Google review
This is the second time we have stayed at Sands of Luce with our Touring Caravan, it is a lovely site the touring pitches are practically on the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful, there is a restaurant and bar on site or a short walk to the local pub. The facilities are modern and very clean, we will definitely be back next year.
Keith F — Google review
Spent 3 nights in our campervan and awning in the touring site. The gravel pitches were very generous with handy electricity cable and water taps at each. Beautiful beach views and spotlessly clean site. The site landscapers have to be congratulated as the planting is beautifully done with an enormous variety of flowers, shrubs and trees. Toilets were also spotless and excellently maintained however, ladies toilets tended to run out of toilet roll towards the end of the day. No problem but one to remember! They were cleaned (very thoroughly) and restocked every morning about 630 ish. Checking in was quick and easy. The park is well kept and it’s perfect if you have a dog as there’s so many areas for walking in the immediate vicinity and in the wider area. Super tidy recycling area too! Lighthouse bar and restaurant has amazing food (I wrote a separate review)! Absolutely recommend Sands of Luce to everyone. We’d certainly love to go back!

Lean Bean is a fantastic spot to grab a satisfying meal and enjoy a delicious cup of java. I particularly appreciate their ever-changing menu options, which reflect the different seasons. Additionally, they prioritize ethical sourcing when it comes to their store cupboard items, which is commendable. This place is also my go-to for refills, as they offer top-notch service in that regard. If you're craving a superb flat white, look no further because Lean Bean has the best in Scotland!

What a nice place to stop for a coffee - there’s non-dairy milk available too. The adjoining room has a whole array of environmentally friendly products to purchase. You can fill your boots with dry goods - nuts, dried fruits, a fantastic range of herbs & spices, cereals and teas - and you can even buy cleaning products too. Just remember to bring your own bags, Tupperware or bottles to put them in. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful and it’s got a nice atmosphere if you plan to stay to drink your tea or eat a piece of their cake. Definitely worth a visit!

AWFUL. This establishment is awful, staff working there didn’t know what day it was, served Scottish locals first and didn’t make our breakfast in order of who entered the facility. Left the coffee on the side for 10 minutes whilst it had a nap, unbelievable service to be honest. When one of the breakfast came, rubbish cheap products and I had to wait for mine which never came and then we left. Shocking DO NOT GO
