This place has a fantastic location and an even better atmosphere. We loved the vibe, and the staff were incredibly friendly, especially Samwel, who made sure we were well taken care of. That said, the food didn’t quite hit the mark for us. We ordered a mixed seafood plate and didn’t realize it would all come fried, would’ve been great if they’d asked our preference. It also took around 30 minutes to arrive. Still, for the view and service alone, it’s a place with real charm.

I had a great experience at Karambezi Café! I ordered the Passion Mojito and it was absolutely refreshing — exactly what I was hoping for. The flavors were perfectly balanced and really hit the spot. The atmosphere is lovely, especially with the live band they host every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy good vibes. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is because I believe there’s always room for a little improvement, but overall, it’s definitely a spot worth visiting!

Karambezi is a beautiful restaurant located in Masaki which provides delicious food and drinks as well as desert. The surrounding is beautiful because it is located on a cliff where you can see the Indian ocean beautifully. The staff are friendly with good customer services, the prices are affordable and worthy the services.

This restaurant is one of the area's longstanding establishments, exuding a dignified atmosphere that feels truly special. The menu offers a wide range of authentic Indian dishes, with South Indian cuisine being a particular strength. The rich aroma of biryani spices and the generous portions of dosa reflect the restaurant's authentic quality and regal ambience. Considering this, the prices are quite reasonable. However, there is one downside: the occasional disruption caused by staff sitting too close to guests and constantly staring at their smartphone screens, or laughing loudly. While likely unintentional, this behaviour unfortunately detracts from the otherwise refined atmosphere and dining experience. October 2024 4* Visited the place for quick lunch. The place is very simple. I am giving one extra star for food. The atmosphere is very basic and there is strong smell inside. Here is food list: - Chole Bhuture **** - Masala tea **** It is local sweet shop so you can buy sweet and namkeen. No washroom (I did not notice). Good place if you are looking for local food at good price.

Only good things are Mithai, laddoo, paneer pakoda and chumchum. The worst Sambhar in town. It’s almost always stale . Today it was looking and tasting ugly like the picture. Dosa is really bad. Handwashing area needs a lot of improvement and also overall hygiene needs considerable improvement

I recently visited the shop and was impressed with the wide variety of treats they had to offer. From classic candy favorites to unique and exotic snacks, there was something for everyone. The store was clean and well-organized, making it easy to find what I was looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful, answering any questions I had. I particularly enjoyed the fresh-baked cookies and the handmade fudge. Overall, I had a great experience at the shop and will definitely be returning

Place is good, food is good. Great variety of food options, mainly Indian food. All served dishes are pure vegetarian. Located in a very busy area on Saturdays and Sundays where the area is full of Indian residents and tourists for the Indian restaurants around this place. But even on a busy day like that you can find a seat here where few other famous places around has house full and very difficult to get a table. Also this place sells Indian sweets. Prices are bit lower than other popular Indian restaurants around.

One of the best vegetarian restaurants I have ever visited in Africa You feel at home Their spring roll Dosa is fantastic 👌 They do various types of dosas more than any other restaurant even in South India. All their preparations are authentic Indian. Even my African friends started eating at this restaurant whenever I visited Dar. East Africa is a heaven for Indian vegetarian food. Let us salute them for their magnanimity in accommodating other cultures.

The food is great and seems readily cooked, they have a great variety of things . I wanted for like 10 minutes to be attended to , it seems like they have regular customers . The menu is on the wall , and the waiter over charged me , the price they told me was different from what was on the menu , unless the menu is not up to date . Stay alert .

It is really a nice place for taking Arabic food and Indian cuisine. You can take the food in the room with Ac room . And take a fresh juice .

I'm really in love with the shawarma, it's delicious, I totally recommend it, but the only thing that's really difficult about being there is that there's no AC, and as a tourist, it's like being in a sauna, so I couldn't enjoy my food as much, but it was still worth it. And please try the pineapple juice.

5 star food and portion sizes. Service levels may vary sometimes where the waiters might keep you waiting or if they do decide to take care of you, be prepared to have some of the best service out there in the city. Luckily, most of the staff and managers know me there so my family's experience is mostly top-notch.

I had dinner at Mediterraneo Hotel and Restaurant the other day with my kids, and I just had to share what a wonderful experience we had. The food was delicious, but what truly made our evening special was the exceptional service we received from our server, Abdul (I believe that was his name). He was kind, polite, accommodating, patient, and professional—the kind of person who makes you feel genuinely welcome. He went above and beyond throughout the evening to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. What really stood out was what happened when we were getting ready to leave. My phone had died, and I needed it to call a car service. Without hesitation, Abdul offered to let me use his own phone so I could get in touch with the car service. That small act of kindness meant the world to me—I honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without his help. Thank you, Abdul, and thank you to Mediterraneo for having such compassionate and professional staff. It’s people like Abdul who remind you that kindness and excellent service still exist. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed two nights at the Mediterraneo. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the hotel was nicely located in the beach with an awesome view of the sunrise. The restaurant was also very good for dinner and breakfast.

I was referred to this property by my business partners in DAR, and I stayed for 13 nites. It was a good referral as this is the kind of place I like to stay when on the road when I am 3-6-9-12 time zones away from home. I really enjoyed this place, the pool, the beach and the lush gardens and amazing plants and trees! Lunch at Sala Thai today, I had my lime mint juice as the weather is too warm so need this refreshing juice to cool a bit. For Thai food tbh not very authentic might be the reason of seasoning limitation. Thai cuisine is traditionally famous for its exotic taste of spices, combined with sweet and sour. Here are my two warm review : For pad Thai (fried noodles with veggies, tofu, shrimps depends on your choice) flavors of this dish should be centered around a sweet-savory fusion. However sala thai is making too SOUR. It’s not that much “pad Thai” in my opinion. For som tam (green papaya salad) the papaya is not “green” ( too mature ) so the texture I not that crunchy, and spicy is not salient. Nevertheless Sala Thai so far is the best Thai food restaurant in town I have tried. They can beat the oriental restaurant which located in Kilimanjaro (Dar Hyatt hotel) totally! Overall Thai food is really really tasty and Sala Thai has quick service which I appreciate a lot. Looking forward to visiting again.

I lovely place to go grab your thai dishes. Menu also has continental cuisines all in fair price. Their chicken avocado was really tasty! Munching this down made me feel healthy with all the veggies it came with. Definitely a big recommend The cheese sandwich was just okay, average. I went on a safari with my family this past summer. We did a hot air balloon while on the safari and afterwards were lucky enough to drink kaffe koffee. My mom and I thought it was the best coffee we had ever had. We looked for it everywhere we stopped along our journey but couldn’t find it. Through a series of events they were able to get us coffee in the US. This is so kind of the entire team. We had gone on this hot air balloon to honor my late father. Now to drink this coffee we can remember this special time we had to honor him. The coffee is INCREDIBLE and the staff had been so nice. We are forever grateful

We bought 4 milk shakes and we are regular customers. 2 of them were spoiled. When I first took a sip I really thought it tasted funny and smelt weird but didnt pay attention to it. My wife then drank from it and straight away said it has gone sour. My brother gave the same complain. I believe if you are charging your customer 16,000 tshs per bottle then at least make sure the shakes have not gone bad.

Price is higher than what is listed online . The pictures online are not actually what the store looks like. They don't have pastries like in the pictures. The store's exterior and interior are quite different from the pictures shown online I ordered a 16oz coffee , but only the cup was 16oz -not the amount of coffee.

This was once a place to get good quality coffee and service, I am sorry to announce that it's service and product have declined. I took a video to show you the thieving of coffee. The crew seemed clueless and unresponsive. Really sad, I have to find a different place

This place is frustrating. The menu shows items as available, but once you place a delivery order they call back to say it’s not. Then if you go in person, the same item is magically available. Why accept orders if you don’t actually have the item? It makes no sense that I then have to check with other branches just to get it delivered, paying extra delivery charges because of the distance. And honestly, why keep something on the menu if it’s not available in the first place? It just wastes the customer’s time.

24 hour coffee place, which is really convenient. In a great location, easily accessible by those who reside in masaki and Upanga. The Frappuccino drink was pretty average. It’s too light of a drink, and 30% of the tumbler is filled up with ice. Plenty of such drinks available at other platforms in Dar and better in terms of taste. Would give it a 2 star. They’re 50% more expensive than any other place that has these kinda drinks. The vanilla iced latte was very nice and creamy.

Nice coffee shop which opens 24 hours. They do nice cappuccinos and beautiful cakes. Prices on the high side. They also started offering shawarmas

Kahawa Café is hands down one of the coziest spots I’ve visited. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for everything — whether you’re working, catching up with friends, or just relaxing with a good cup of coffee. The ambience/ the place looks good. Nice & clean as well. But we were the only people there so we got a quick & good service. I think its self-service, as I had gone to the counter to place my order. And if its not management needs to look at it, as I was trying to find the waiter. So the food is pretty decent, the drink was good. Recently went to Kahawa in Masaki for lunch and the new menu was amazing! We had the Korean rice bowl which isn’t something I’d normally choose but it was delicious! Then ordered a cake from the Mbezi branch recently and it did not disappoint! We went to try their breakfast after a cycle ride. I must say the environment felt very relaxing and food was very good. Though limited options were available as we were too early in the morning probably. But whatever we ordered was nice. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting area.

Visited this cafe on a friend's recommendation, he was especially fond of the chicken sandwich but didn't seem too excited about the coffee. The cafe is in a convenient location and is always quite a busy place. It's well set-up for those who need to work away from the office with power outlets conveniently located near the tables. The chicken sandwich, banana bread and fruit juice were quite tasty. However, I wasn't entirely happy with the coffee (Africano/Americano). What I really liked was that the cafe had PLENTY of books and if it was nearer to my place of stay, I would have spent more time here! I went there on a Friday afternoon. It was calm and serene even though almost all tables were taken. They don’t play music, which I actually really enjoyed because I get sometimes overstimulated in Dar’s hectic traffic. The cappuccino with soy milk I ordered was absolutely delicious. Prices are good. Soy milk has additional costs (4k tsh) which is understandable and it still only cost me 10k tsh (approximately €3,30). Staff is really friendly. There is free WiFi and it works perfect. There are plenty of boardgames to play and books to read. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Indoor has airconditioning.

Severe food poisoning! A visit here on October 7 ended in disaster. The food (alfredo pasta/lemonade/coffee) gave me horrific food poisoning. I was sick for three days straight. Never again. Stay away from this place!

Had the steak and cheese sub here, it was delicious! The baked goods look good too. The ambiance of the cafe is amazing too, and i love that they have a lil playground garden for kids! Will be visiting often!

Great ambience, loved the decor🙌🏼 Staff were fast and friendly. Lunch was just okay for me. My friend had the Tandoori Chicken burger which was amazingly spicy and tasty. Establishment par excellence. Finest Tanzanian Coffee will make you doubt Italian cappuccinos are the best. Blueberry cheesecake cake is a must, I recommend it highly to all cake lovers. Honestly very disappointed experience, the food was really bad the rice seems to be in the fridge since few days we order Bryani chicken and there was no small pieces of chicken hidden in a big plate of rice, and as the well the king fish wasn’t the best, didn’t deserve the amount we paid at all

Was on a business visit and visited Bandari Grill with colleagues. They serve excellent Indian food. The chefs Vishal, Vinay, Keshab, Sourab are truly excellent. Taste, service, aesthetics of their offerings are worth admiring.

It was an amazing experience in Rotana

At first glance, cafe Aroma may seem like a very average cafe, as it sits right next a petrol station. However, from the outside you can see that it is a nice cafe. It looks inviting. The staff greeted me immediately and I found a seat easily/quickly. I asked if they could mix two juices for me and they obliged without a problem. I ordered a Greek salad with added chicken, and we got some fries for the table. The fries were great! A light crispiness on the outside accompanied by a soft inside. The salad was already seasoned well enough that I didn’t need to add the dressing they provided. Overall I recommend this place for an easy cafe to have a meeting, catch up with a friend, have a lunch with family, or entertain your kids with a meal out. They had desserts too, but I did not venture down that road.

The breakfast is great. Also, try the Italian rice bowl! Great place to work, if you don't mind the noise. Internet- is stable!

A little bit surprised it is in a gas station. But generally the environment is pretty good. And also it's the best cappuccino I had since I landed in Tanzania. Chicken wing is also not so bad. But the sauce is a little bit sweet for me. Overall, it's good.

This cafe deserves all the stars for their incredible heavenly grilled red snapper! It was cooked to absolute perfection – flaky, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The accompanying mashed potatoes were also delicious. Seriously, one of the best grilled fish I've had in a while. The drinks were okay. However, I must admit the chairs weren't the most comfortable. Despite this minor drawback, I highly recommend this cafe for a delicious and satisfying meal.

The food was nice, the Nutella shake 🫨 was great, took the babies out for lunch. Asked a server to take a group photo at their beautiful entrance and she mentioned that she hasn’t put sunscreen and so won’t be able to step outside! I wonder how she got to work🤷🏾‍♀️

Bean There Cafe is an amazing place to chat and do the work. However, it can get quite loud, but I personally love the atmosphere! It was my first time trying caramel machiatto, and it was so good!

I was really disappointed with my visit to Bean There Café. The food was completely tasteless - nothing had any flavor at all. And to make things worse, they didn't even have coffee! For a place calling itself a café, that's just ridiculous. The name "Bean There Café" is clearly just a name – - there's no real coffee or café experience here. Definitely not worth visiting

I was requested to leave my seat while waiting for the Uber as some new customers wanted to sit here. There are still many empty seats. The waitress claimed that she had no offense and just "politely asked". I would say it was an offense to most people. Will never go back there.

Lovely Cafe, their cakes are just delicious. I got my Mom and Dad’s birthday Cake recently from them. I also tried Pistachio Nutella cake & Blueberry cheesecake. I would absolutely recommend it. Sadly, I am very disappointed with my meal and experience, especially since it's my first time and I've heard quite a lot of good reviews about this place. The fries were absolutely below grade; tasted old/stale and very crunchy. Seems like the chef or manager in charge in the kitchen isn't bothered about the quality of the dishes going out to their customers. The service is quite slow. We had to remind our server about the other dish that we had ordered. Perhaps they should work on this.

One of my recommended cafe here in Dar Es Salaam. In terms of location wise, it is good an has lot of parking spaces. Ambiance and cleanliness? I can say they maintain their cafe's good reputation. As for the best part, price and food, I can say it is worth the price especially their cakes. I highly recommend Butterscotch and Lotus Cheesecake, can say that it is best when freshly baked. We've tried it numerous times as it was really good. Pasta also is soooo good, they never fail. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, chill, do some office work this place is a must visit.

For me Opera was not the best. But I will visit and try another one again and highly recommend to visit. They have a lot of cakes and desserts. And I love the interior

Went for breakfast and whilst the food we ordered was good (excellent bread), I do feel like improvements could be made. Most of the breakfast menu offerings indicate that it comes with bread. It would be great to be given the option of having the bread toasted and/ or to receive a side of butter. The place was pretty empty on a Saturday morning at 9:30am.

Went for the infamous Sunday Brunch based on an IG video. Perfect location, Vibe is chilled, and it is great for an outing to enjoy the outside breeze while catching up with friends. Their baked goods are fresh and tasty. However some of the items on the brunch table were exposed for too long so it was already wilting I.e green salads, boiled eggs we’re changing colour etc.

Thanks to Sabri who served us this morning. When it's cool and there's a breeze the roof top terrace is the place to sit. I had the homemade yoghurt which was perfect after a long Sunday stroll.

Amazing interior. Great place to relax or work remotely, with a dedicated play area for children as well. However my only problem was with quality of products. Ordered a milkshake and a cappuccino, it was okay. Otherwise great staff and again, AMAZING INTERIOR!

I was drawn in by the sight of a shawarma rotisserie spinning by the roadside and decided to give this barbecue spot a try. Despite arriving late and finding that many items on the menu had sold out, the restaurant still offered an impressively wide selection, including biryani, mandi, Swahili dishes, and even pizza. The restaurant had a casual, diner-style setting. The friendly waitress added a warm touch, and the shawarma served in a soft bun was surprisingly juicy. It's a very old restaurant with consistent delicious spiced food taste ri include biriani, pilau, chapati and wali maua. I know the place over 30 years now, I make a point to eat there while i am in Dar es Salaa city centre.

Food is excellent, but you will have to compose your own dish. I asked for rice, mixed vegetables with beans, and chapati, and it was wonderful. Fruit juices are also sublime. Quite busy in the city centre, but a nice vibe in my opinion. The chapati was the best I've tried.

The waitresses are very attentive and gave me really good recommendations for drinks and food. I ordered the mango/passion fruit ade and it was amazing! For lunch I had beef with spaghetti which was okay. Could have made it myself and I was missing something that made the dish special. All in all a great place, especially if you need a nice place to work!

I tried the Dalgona coffee, inspired by the popular Squid Game series, and it was absolutely delicious. The coffee was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The minimalist decor and soft lighting create a relaxing ambiance. I loved the curated playlist, it was perfect blend to the café’s peaceful and serene environment. Highly recommend!

As a korean, it is very nice to visit this cafe. They offer Korean dishes! I recommend red bean bingsu and Kimchi fried rice ❤️

Coffee lovers should definately pay a visit at Luma Whale Cafe, they serve and sell best coffee in Dar (maybe😜) If you want to try simple korean dishes, this is definately a go-to place! They also have a mini-shop selling korean beauty and food products. The place is cozy and spacious, very easy to get to, with friendly staff!

I really enjoyed the unique taste of their signature dish... it is their own recipe with a South Korean twist... The children enjoyed the Tomato pasta and hot chocolate. Soup was excellent and the caramel frappe was the best I have had in a very long time. These guys are very serious about their coffee. The professor (of coffee) has got so many certificates! There is a story as to why it is called Luma Whale so go and ask their team if you want to know!

Beautiful establishment. The ambience is great. The food was okay. I loved the goat ribs, amazing but the burger werent that for me. I couldnt taste any spices or the cheese. The burdger paddy tasted flat. Also fries that accompany the burger should just be the usual long thin fries than the one they serve. I think the usual fried taste better than these ones. The waitress are great and the place is very clean.

The food was fine but the experience was awful. The guy at food cart served us food. There is a menu with the price of each item but none of them is about buffet. So we ordered a small plate each (as shown on the pics) and they stated on the bill 10,000 shillings for each plate. After negotiating the bill became 10,000 in total. Besides, the claimed that the coffee maker was out of order but we saw them serving coffee to other customers.

Wifi, working tables and meeting rooms, a café with decent espresso drinks, healthy lunch buffet every afternoon, board games, foosball! I hat better place to work out of or startup your own startup in good company-the owner has had 3 successful ones already?

My go-to place for decent coffee whenever I'm in the area. Unfortunately it takes forever to order food a la card (upwards of 1h for simple dishes), so if you're in a rush, better stick to the buffet.

Do not waste your time here. We were looking forward to a great meal but were told very late after we had already sat down that most of the menu items weren't available. The service was terrible, and the lack of communication from the staff was completely unprofessional. This was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience.

So let's talk about the PROS of my experience at TasteMe Mikocheni Plaza : 1. Staff were very welcoming and quick to take the orders. 2. Out of the 2 dishes [I'll talk about the other one in CONS] that we ordered, Chicken Alfredo Pasta (Penne) was one of the absolute best pasta I've ever eaten in my life. So rich, so creamy, YUM! 3. Pleasant atmosphere. Very clean spot, great ambience! CONS : 1. Food took a bit longer than usual to arrive. Probably after 45-50 minutes, so I expected it to be good. (Continues in 2) 2. So as I mentioned in PROS, I'd ordered 2 dishes, so the second dish was the Grilled Chicken Fillet with fries. It was a little bit too dry for my liking and overcooked in certain areas. The fries were kind of hard. 3. The post serving service could've been better as we asked for a spoon, it didn't arrive until we reminded them, which I didn't appreciate. 🤝 Overall a good experience. I expect a 'really good' experience next time because I'll definitely come back because the PROS outweigh the CONS for me. One of my favourite spots in Dar.

A cool cafe where I dash in for late night coffee and desserts. They offer good tasty finger foods for breakfast and brunch. I like their mocktails as well. There's this very helpful and nice waiter there, I wish I can remember his name to give him a shout out. It's a cool corner cafe to have in your list if in Posta areas

Ordered a kunafa through duka . it’s suppose to be made with the shredded phyllo dough , instead flour covered cheese fried in a weird gross oil taste. Also their cheese rolls had no filling , and had their kibbeh and it barely had a beef filling from a previous order . Disappointing . They should have just cancelled the order . I used to really like their cheese rolls and labneh.

Today I ordered churros for the first time in Cafe Arabica which was not worth the price . 12000tzs for 5 to 6 strips of thin churros is a big no.

Nice. Quiet. Great internet. Really good coffee. Very attentive staff and super friendly owner. Food is better here than other local coffee shops. Small shop. One small downside is hard to charge devices if they are busy as there only a handful of places to charge. But perfect place to work. And definitely a great shop!
