The Old Imperial Bar is like stepping into a swanky time capsule. Tucked in Tokyo’s Imperial Hotel, with the Frank Lloyd Wright vibe. The bartenders are absolute pros, and my Lugend and Mount Fuji cocktails were out of this world—smooth, perfectly balanced, and just wow (I love egg white). Our server made it extra special by bringing over old books about Frank Lloyd Wright’s history with the hotel, which was such a cool touch. The attention to detail, from the top-notch service to the bar’s stunning design, blew us all away. We only had a couple rounds, but easily spent 3 hours on a chill Sunday evening there. It’s a bit pricey, but so worth it for cocktail fans or history buffs. Can’t wait to go back!

The ambience is top notch (partly due to the clientele), it makes you feel like you traveled back in time. The old Imperial bar is located on the second floor of The imperial hotel. One is transported back in time with the low lighting and interior of wood, brickwork and red carpets reminiscent of anything from the 1960-1980-es. Had the Mount Fuji which was good. Komachi which was sake based with lychee liquor Imperial 70 was like a sour and looked amazing and tasted quite tart. Service was good, friendly and quick. Loved the focus light in at the bar. Snacks provided with drinks including chocolate squares.

A truly beautiful bar you must visit when in Tokyo. It is a piece of history stepping inside, seeing the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. Staff are also very lovely. Prices are expensive but it is worth just stopping in for a drink.

I don't know how to explain what an old world joy this place has. My mother is an interior designer with a great love for Frank Lloyd Wright. As part of her lifelong pilgrimage to see all his works, this bar holds that small piece of his beautiful design for the Tokyo Imperial Hotel. You can still see the vestiges of its murals, facade, and aesthetic in the bar preserved after the demolition in 1968. If you say you are there for the design, the womderful managers might bring out a book for you to look at. Also the drinks are made with such expertise and although pricey, well worth it.

Stayed at Nui as a home base for exploring Tokyo for 10 days! Super close to Kuramae train station/Asakusa line and a grocery store, super clean and comfy rooms, and a really kind and helpful staff! The cafe in the lobby is also quite good, and serves up tasty coffee and food as well as cocktails at night. Recommend the espresso tonic and the bar master makes a brilliant old fashioned. My time at Nui was lovely, and it was the perfect place to call home in between excursions to Shimokita and other neighborhoods!

It being a hostel attached to a cafe/bar would make you think it's got some makeshift setup, but it is anything but. It's weird to use luxury to describe a hostel but Nui definitely is more luxurious than any hostel I've seen. It also appears to be very good for socializing, since the bar was always filled with people (though I didn't personally hang out there much).

I am honestly sooooooo happy with this place!!! It might be my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm which was spacious enough for everyone’s luggage. There are lockers in the room, you get a free towel and padlock. Everyone in the room was incredibly quiet and respectful. The female only bathrooms were soooo good and well thought out !!! Immaculately clean, loads of room in the shower cubicles for clothes and hanging things. Theres some free cotton pads in there too. They even had a small bath which was incredible after a long day of walking. The common room was so cozy and completely stocked with everything you’d need to cook. Such a nice vibe. Downstairs there’s a cafe/bar which has such a nice atmosphere too. The staff are all so wonderful, friendly, cool and helpful. The only downside is that you have to make your own bed which is a bit of a pain after a long travel day lol. I honestly would live in this hostel. 10/10.

Nui is probably one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. In terms of service, cleanliness and quietness for a hostel. The bar/cafe downstairs was warm and welcoming with friendly staff. The rooms and bathrooms were always serviced and clean. I would highly reccomend this stay.

Had an amazing stay at Nui Hostel! The location is super convenient, close to major attractions and well connected to the airport via subway. The staff were absolutely fantastic, super friendly and helpful. I also loved the great food and relaxed vibe. Highly recommend this place and I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Tokyo!

The location is very convenient next to the metro and supermarkets. Dorms are spacious and shared bathrooms are clean. Could have been a toilet more but I understand limited space. P.s. Had a small issue and they solved it nicely in the end 😊 Arigato for that!

I had a very nice dinner with friends at Bee 8 - starting off with a mojito (quite decent by Japanese standards), sashimi, and some veggie sticks with a warm garlicky sauce. Then the real food: quiche and New York style pizza (both very satisfying), followed by two unique dishes - stuffed jalapenos with hot sauce, and meatballs with fried bamboo shoots - which were my favourites of the evening. I was enjoying some nice Italian red wine from an abundant wine list (with a focus on New World wines) by that stage, and it was a pretty good match. It also worked very well with the roast beef (cooked just right, which is rare) we finished with. The desserts looked great but the whiskey list looked even better, so I finished the evening with a great Japanese single malt. Service was good and bilingual. All in all, a very satisfying experience!

Fantastic location in a really convenient access point within Shibuya for a night out with friends or a date. It was just a 5 minute walk from the JR Shibuya station. Very relaxing atmosphere, stylish interior with attentive staff. Was much more spacious than you’d ever imagine a bar in central Shibuya! They have a great menu with a delicious selection of foods to enjoy with cocktails, beer or wine. We reserved a table for a group night out and all enjoyed a selection of their dishes and drinks. Thanks to the staff for their great recommendations. Overall was very impressed with the quality and variety of vegetables served! A personal highlight for me was the roast beef. It’s juicy, not overcooked and comes served with baby carrots and green salad. The stuffed jalapeño pepper dish was something you won’t find often in Tokyo. A really nice treat that wasn’t too spicy, plus the chilli sauce it’s served with is very flavourful. We also enjoyed the colourful vegetable platter with fondue. The New York pizza was also a big hit with my group and disappeared very fast. As for drinks, I have a sweet tooth and went for the Campari cocktails they had available. The fresh fruit juice used is super refreshing. I enjoyed a couple glasses of red. They’re known as a wine bar after all and didn’t disappoint!

Place with a modern vibe hidden in the basement - look out for the sign and follow the stairs down otherwise you'd never know it's there. This place is known as a wine bar on google, so I tried three of their wines by the glass.  The fave was definitely the white Evolution. I also tried the red and a rose.  We tried few different plates and shared them together - the best was the roast beef salad with tender juicy slices. The food in itself was a fusion of japanese/western styles - i loved the local veggie platter with warm dip at the beginning as there's not many places in Japan that will serve plates of veggies. Other dishes that were nice was the sashimi type dish, and quiche. We also tried the pasta, pizza and meatballs but they were average. Id recommended it as a place to go to drink wines and share small plates with friends - the whole venue has a nice atmosphere.

The fresh vegetables platter with fish dip. The carpaccio. The deep fried meat stuffed jalapeños were incredible! With fried bamboo shoot (long cut). Amazing. Come here for a date.

Kinda local place that offers Kushikatsu (fried skewers), which is supposed to be Osaka's popular snacks. Variety of skewers to choose from and a glass of beer and you are all settled in :) Complete your dining with a bowl of udon noodles or porrige to make sure every inch of your tummy is filled with the great food. *CASH ONLY*

I may have spent to much, but once the food touched my tongue I just wanted more. Highly recommend the chefs choice of skewers. It might seem a bit pricey compared to more filling options nearby, but the flavor and quality won't disappoint.
