Overall, I believe this is the only not closed bar at night with alcohol + live music. Live music wasn't as good as you would expect, but speaking about boredom vibes of the city, this is a number 1 place to visit)) Speaking about food, it was 60k rupiah for 5 chicken nuggets, so... better try them at McD ))

This place has a kind of edgy name but the atmosphere is chill and welcoming. The live music was a mix of different genre (Indonesian pop, koplo, western, rock and a bit of EDM later in the night), not too loud yet the singers were surprisingly energetic for a casual bar vibe. Overall, it's a classic bar, but a good spot to chill, chat, and unwind around Malioboro, Yogyakarta.

Lucifer is in a great location in central Jogja and has quite a nice layout & exterior. However, don’t expect friendly service from any of the staff. I visited numerous times & spent plenty of $ and it was always the same. You will get friendlier interaction from the live karaoke type bands. There was beer though & it was cold- small mercies.

Nice bar, ice cold beers, 2 things that this area needs more of. No live music on Saturday night when I was there, but there was on Sunday which was a great addition. Personally I think it was much better than Oxen Free (nearby). Didn’t have any food, so cannot comment. This bar is as polished as those in the touristy areas and it’s a welcome change as it has character. Will be back here again before my few days in this city is over.

This could be a really nice bar but.... 1. The place is filthy 2. The food is horrible 3. The staff are useless We went there for an afternoon beer and something to eat. We got fish and chips and advocado on toast. Both were poor. Alarm bells went off when we ordered two large beers. The disinterested waiter plonked them on to table. We asked for glasses. He brought two very dirty glasses. One was so bad (thick dirt inside it), we asked him to replace it. He brought a less dirty one but still pretty awful. By the time we left, there were 5 male waiters playing on their phones, all hidden from the paying customers. It is no surprise that this place is filthy if the staff are basically doing nothing all day. The toilets were actually disgrace. Maybe 3 those 5 staff could have used one hour, hot water and bleach to make such a big difference to the bathrooms. Obviously, very poorly managed.

Nice chill place to hang out. Good live music. Good choice of drinks (alcoholic and non) and food. They actually spend time to freshly prepare their food and not reheat ready to eat stuff. Also has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor specially is very cosy. Staff is helpful too. Definitely recommend this place.

Backstreet beer garden located near the backpacker tourist areas adjacent to Jalan Malioboro. They have a good selection of drinks of reasonable prices, and a fairly expansive menu of western and indonesian food. The food was hit or miss, and slightly expensive compared to some of the more "local" establishments in the area. There is live music at night and a partially covered outdoor patio for when it rains.

Slow service but great environment and band. Food is decent. Will recommend to try the chicken quesadilla which is really good:) Can skip the apple pie which came cold with melted ice-cream

Been here at the wrong time buhuhuhu... Because of the heavy rain. So can't enjoy the place well. But the waitress so nice. I think this place selling the vibe. For the long island too much water and ice. Can't taste it well as the usual long island. But complained and they changed it. But still, don't do that for the customers. The outside of this bar doesn't seem like much but when you walk in its pretty amazing. They really make use of all the bottles for wall art. They also have live music and a nice variety of beers and other drinks. the staff are nice, this bar is a cool place to hang out. I would recommend going to check it out.

The fairly new Taphouse Beer Garden (opened in 2016) is located on the edge of the lively Sosro entertainment district. The interior could best be described as modern post-industrial; a nice and cozy bar that is clearly aimed at a modern, young (er) audience. A good beer list with affordable prices and pleasant music. Highly recommended!

The interior is unique, they combine industrial design with ruined-house concept, although it's kind of giving me spooky vibe. The music is 'confused'..one time they played reggae, then it's disco.

Small and very narrow pub, a lot of guests. Too crowded for me but I love the ambience. A lot of campus students. Come in Monday and you’ll get 25% off by bring your student ID card. They also served cocktail, beer, and mocktail. Love their DJ and music too. Love!

The sound quality of the music was very poor, making the environment more irritating than enjoyable. As for the food, I ordered a Caesar salad – a simple choice – but was quite disappointed: the chicken was nearly nonexistent and the dressing seemed spoiled, which is concerning as it could pose a health risk. Additionally, when I asked for some mayonnaise to go with my potatoes, I was told there would be an extra charge. That’s understandable, but usually a side dish like that comes with at least one basic sauce. Unfortunately, service was the weakest point. Despite the place being almost empty, I had to actively search for staff to place my order, often standing up to get their attention. The staff seemed unprepared and inattentive from the moment I entered until I left. I hope this review is taken as constructive feedback to improve the quality of service, food, and the overall ambiance.

The worst pizza I've ever had. It was the saddest excuse for a pizza I've ever seen. But I was so hungry I just ate it. Pathetic. No tomato sauce. Garbage. Beer is good. Very nice space and ambience.

Delicious food & cocktails! We had the Sexy Belly burger and a tenderloin steak, both with Belgian fries. As Belgians, we liked the fries, although they couldn’t compare to the real deal. The burger and steak were also really good! But the steak was pretty small and the portion of fries was insufficient. Atmosphere was good, nice place! Definitely a recommend in Yogyakarta. Just know that the portions are on the smaller side.

this local student bar is great! crowded? yes it is, young people enjoying here so much. the price of beer is cheaper than other place, always have promo for the bucket! but when the place being so many people, the staff really need to more giving attention because they keep the bottle opener with them -_- but over all, this is so interesting place!

Place is great for chill vibes and good music with live band. Food is delicious I had the platter and it was generous. Onion rings were legit with real onions and fries not too oily. Band played my fav songs and have quite diverse range. Will definitely recommend everyone to come hang here.

Such a great place actually, with the warm lighting that makes the nuance becoming more ‘homey’. Sadly, the restroom was rather unclean and space less. Moreover, the place seems a lil bit over-crowded which makes it uncomfortable. Nonetheless, the live music surely does its job.

Nice setup and lighting, sound quality is good. Wouldn’t blame it on the management, but the crowd was dead. Might need to encourage the crowd. Security needs to be improve as the place can be a bit crowded, I was disappointed that some guests (total strangers) drank my drinks and sat on my table and the security did nothing.

Extremely poor service when we enquired about the facility. Told that (empty club) was fully booked, and we can only sit at the bar! Do not expect a friendly reception if you want to enjoy the nightlife in Jogya.

So disappointed by the quality of service and rudeness of the staff, there was a receptionist who was pushing and touching our friend for not paying enough money, however the waiter previously said that it's okay to sit on the table without the exact amount of money spent. Visited on Wednesday late night at 12am. The place was quite empty, but they still played great English songs (mostly edm). Food was very good. Slightly more expensive compared to other late night bars, but a great relaxed atmosphere.

We had breakfast here for 3 days as part of our hotel stay. There is a good variety of local food including rice, noodles and even the local delicacy, gudeg. There is an egg station, noodle station and pastries. There is even ice cream for dessert. We received excellent service from Shinta. We enjoyed our meal here.

Sellie Coffee is a small coffee shop that's definitely worth a visit. If you're looking for a cozy and intimate atmosphere with cheap, quality coffee, this place is perfect. The shop has a distinctly artsy vibe that's both modern and unique. You'll find a lot of interesting art pieces and decor that make the space feel very inviting. One of the highlights of Sellie Coffee is their tubruk, a traditional Indonesian coffee brewing method that results in a strong and flavorful cup of coffee. This particular coffee shop has truly mastered the art of tubruk. Their tubruk is great and definitely worth a try if you're looking for something different.

Fave place to read my books! Really have a great ambience! The place is nicely simple but arty ✨ Choose your reference coffee! They’ve some Indonesian coffees to serve! If you aren’t coffee fans, no worries! The do have delicious chocolate and lemon honey 🍯as my recommendation! Plus; watermelon juice! And the “Tempe Mendoan” 💙 lost my words tho! 😋 yummmy! One more that you have to do! Do taste the Bakso nearby. Just right beside the coffee shop. We even allow to eat the Bakso in Sellie! If there’s no queues, the will gladly deliver the Bakso for you! Located just in Prawirotaman II. Just couples minutes from the Prawirotaman Market!

A not-so-big coffee shop but this one is very cozy. They served a lot of coffee variant from all around Indonesia. They also provide strong wi-fi connection. This is a good place to chill out or just have fun with friends. Good place, with a lot of good varieties of coffee.

Another must visit location for AADC2 fans. But, despite the movie hype, the coffee shop deserves a visit for its good coffee. I've had and tried petung and gayo and both are good. The place has no AC btw.

Great little coffee shop around the corner of the buzzing Jalan Prawirotaman. The super friendly team at Ruang Seduh will welcome you with one of the best cups of coffee in Yogyakarta. There's always a wide variety of both Indonesian as well as imported brewed coffee available. Besides, there's a solid and tasty house espresso. Personal favorite is the Iced Latte drink, which is basically espresso poured over 'ice cubes' made out of milk. Keep an eye on their instagram page (ruanseduh) for their current specials and deviating opening hours.

The ambient is very instagram-able with fluorescent lighting & almost everything comes in white. Talk to their barista & tell them what kind of coffee you like. You can even brew your own coffee if you ask nicely :)

Coffee is coffee, nothing else to it, ambiance, atmosphere and everything else is just a gimmick. This coffee shop is just that. They make my V60 Manual Brew Coffee the right way, as per requested, 22 grams with 1:10 drip ratio. Be here only at night, as the day can be quit scorching, but that's Yogyakarta, non complain able. LOL.

Great coffeeplace! Nice and relaxed atmosphere with so many different coffeeblends. Place is a bit hidden, buy definitly one to visit. Prices are very cheap! Barista Alphian is very passionate about coffee and explained us a lot about the blends and types of coffee. We tasted many different coffees and even made our own espresso. After many coffees we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, delicious! 2 cheeses and nicely seasoned with herbs. We will come back! Thanks Alphian for your time and knowledge.

There are various types of tea served here, and of course since it's basically a coffee shop you'll also find what you're looking for. Awor is well known so it's pretty packed and crowded. For me Awor is more like a place to hang out with friends instead of having a me time. Still recommended though.

Not bad as a cafe, but its not that awesome either. The main reason is the policy of smoking indoors, it's Air Conditioned but people smoke. Surprisingly though, the smell isnt that "stingy" so im kinda... fine with it. The price is kinda pricy, well lets say its 4k more than your average cafe. But atleast its taste matches the bevarages. Barista's are very friendly and would offer us some suggestions if we look puzzled. 8/10

Went to this place since my partner recommended me to dine here. He said the restaurant is located in the same building as the pastry/bakery. Parking lot is spacious, and comfortable. The service was awesome, not only the security was very helpful, the waiters and waitresses were also very nice and friendly. The restaurant itself is on the 3rd floor of the building, but don’t worry, the building has an elevator to accommodate convenient access. Foods and beverages were amazing (we went here on Dec 22nd and today, both days’ meals we ordered were delicious!). They cook your meals in an open kitchen so I’d say the kitchen itself is clean. The chef and cooks were cooking neat and fast. It’s something you rarely see in Yogyakarta. We will always come back, for sure.

Last week i just went to this restaurant which located in the center of jogja city and nearby ambarukmo plaza too. The restaurant was very nice their designed the atmosphere so cozy with a live music make customer feels like at their own home. Also I like the food especially chicken cordon blue that very yummy and the staff service was friendly. Overall I really recommend this restaurant especially for young people who want to have dinner with their partner.

Known as place for cheap books, some are used, some look like books that didn’t pass factory QC due to bad printing, some are, IMO, not original book (i feel sorry about this). Bargaining ability is examined here, book prices are determined that way. I came in the afternoon at about 4 pm and most of the stalls were still opened.

Used to love this place whenever I want to look for books. Still there are some seller that i’d like to visit whenever I come here. It provides almost all book that you’re looking for. Located near Taman Budaya Yogyakarta and Pasar Beringharjo, it is easy to access and find. One thing that bother me personally is there are also many fake books, unoriginal.

The hospitality we experienced was unacceptable. The receptionist misled us about the minimum price, and the staff displayed a lack of professionalism and hospitality. They didn't even apologize for their mistakes, which is completely inappropriate. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Quite a late review, but the great impression certainly lingered so long that I can’t help to write a review about it. Everything here is impeccable! Food, service and atmosphere complimented each other so well. A definite (multiple) revisit when I’m back in Jogja!

Finally had the chance to dine at Vindoty's Kitchen with my sister's family last week, and it was a true pleasure. The home-cooked menu was a hit, including the tempting desserts that left no trace behind. Despite entering through an alley, parking nearby was convenient. The place exudes a homely vibe with greenery, plants, and vintage elements that caught our attention right from the entrance. Remember to reserve a table in advance for this cozy and nostalgic dining experience.

Far from city center, in a remote housing area entering a narrow alley. But, to be honest I was surprised finding it green, cool, simple yet attractive. Every corner is pleasing to the eye, well decorated. For the food is just ordinary to me and nothing special for the dessert as well. Yet, it's not cheap, even overpriced in my opinion.

Definitely will go back to vindoty’s when in Yogya.. their galantine so yumm, cumi hitam, sambal everything it’s so yum.. i really love it.. I tried their dessert, cheese cake with berries, cookies perfect !!

I give a 3 Star instead of 5 although I come to this place almost 2x a week. Reason I still visit here because I have a friend who work here. If not then maybe will not coming here often. Now for the drink menu, they have good list, and for sure you have to considered that if you want to have fun here, make sure you bring more than 500k IDR in your wallet. The live music need improvement and often late. They also mostly singing a local songs in Bahasa or Javanese so if you didn't try to learn those language or culture, then you might won't enjoy here.

BE CAREFUL HERE. There's a bartender named Sarah or Zerah or Zarah that pretends to be the owner. She's not -- she's just a bar tender. Even though she's untrustworthy and a liar, the bar is super cool to hang out and chill. If Rena's there, I recommend ordering a tower and having a drink together -- she's sweet AF and definitely brings out the best at this place.

Got ripped off completely. Ordered 3 beer towers for my friends birthday and the beer tasted like water. I actually got sober after 3 beers instead of getting more drunk. Do not go here, they will scam you if you’re a tourist
