Cafe
Cake shop
Café de Hunza, located in Karimabad, is a popular and charming café known for its delightful walnut cakes, pancakes, and stunning views of the valley. The cafe has been serving visitors since 1994 and is celebrated for its warm rustic ambiance. Their signature walnut cake, filled with a rich blend of honey and walnuts, is highly recommended by tourists. In addition to the delectable desserts, the café also offers scrumptious breakfast and lunch options.
Stopped by this cafe and was genuinely impressed! The views were absolutely stunning — a perfect backdrop to a relaxing meal. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the place itself was spotless and neatly kept. I had a sandwich and a milkshake, both were delicious. Now I totally get why this spot comes so highly recommended whenever you’re in Hunza
Azhar M — Google review
I found the famous walnut cake good but not exceptional. It was quite dry and the texture wasn’t soft and moist like a cake, but more like a biscuit. The rose tea was great though, highly recommend that. And the decor is cute.
Jessie W — Google review
Delicious breakfast with a view! Had breakfast at the much-anticipated Cafe de Hunza, and it lived up to the hype! It’s a self-service cafe and usually a bit crowded, but we went early right after opening and got a cozy spot. We ordered their famous walnut cake, pancake with Nutella, brownie, Pakistani complete breakfast, cheese & mushroom omelette, regular tea, and the refreshing Hunza tea with honey. Everything was superb! The pancake was freshly baked, the omelette was creamy and flavorful, and the walnut cake truly deserves its reputation—moist, rich, and unforgettable The Hunza tea had a light, herbal punch with honey that was both refreshing and unique. It cost us Rs. 5,600 for 9 people, which is quite reasonable for such quality food and ambience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hunza!
Muhammad K — Google review
Exceptional dining experience with its wonderful food and lovely mountain views. Renowned for its delicious walnut cake and aromatic coffee, the cafe serves a variety of local and international dishes that delight the taste buds. The cozy ambiance, complemented by large windows, provides stunning panoramic views of the majestic mountains. Whether you're there for a hearty breakfast or a relaxing afternoon tea, Cafe de Hunza ensures a memorable visit with its delectable cuisine and picturesque surroundings.
Abdullah N — Google review
Delicious food, desserts and coffee. A cosy place however can get crowded at some times. Beautiful views of Rakaposhi and Ultar Sar. A must visit when in Hunza, especially for the Walnut Cake.
Muaaz M — Google review
It's nothing short of insanity that a place that prides itself on bakery items (cakes, coffee etc) doesn't open till late morning/noon and esp when located in the heart of the tourist hub of Hunza, i.e. Karimabad. As for the food, can't really fault them since they do well on that front and they have the hype for a long time.noq but you can have way better walnut cake at Glaciar Breeze (Passu) trust me on this.
Masood Q — Google review
Their Walnut cake is very good and worth trying and other cakes are also good.
Muhammad U — Google review
The famous food item of this cafe is "Walnut Cake". It's all about the taste, if you like walnut then it's your thing if not then don't give it a try,as a slice of one is 600 Rupees. Regarding its texture which is not like a regular cafe, it's more like biscuits from the local bakery. From a taste point of view its just okay, people just make a hype about it. Kashmiri Tea is also okay, it's not thick in texture as we mostly sip rest is okay. The place is small but relaxing, don't know what's the environment inside if it's crowded when I visit there are only a couple of people over there.

Restaurant
Hunza Food Pavilion by Laal Shehzadi is a renowned restaurant that has been serving organic food for 11 years. The signature dish, Chap Shoro, is a traditional and healthy meat chapatti. Visitors praise the delicious and fresh food served with great hospitality. The owner, Laal Shehzadi, is described as humble and friendly. The restaurant offers a fantastic view and must-try dishes include Chamshooro, Daudo Shoup, and Chamus.
You CANNOT go to Hunza and not eat here! Restaurant owner by an enterprising local woman, with her family helping as her staff. Most delicious local dishes, each one scrumptious! Comfy sitting area with a marvellous view. Friendly and quick service, always with smiles. Don't miss it!
Saman A — Google review
It’s a tourists’ trap The food is terrible and the portions are small. Even my guide agreed with me that that’s not the right taste for local cuisine. They’re using cheap ingredients as fillers. Neither my local guide or myself could finish our plates. I highly do NOT recommend this place. And definitely not returning back.
Hassaan A — Google review
Tucked away on the side of the Hunza street sits the iconic Hunza food pavilion, which is run by the inspirational Laal Shehzadi. Our guide highly recommending visiting and we were more than happy we did. The food were made fresh to order by Laal Shehzadi herself, and served by one of her family members. We ate with the backdrop of beautiful mountains range and a clear blue sky, really cannot ask for a better lunch spot in Hunza, Pakistan.
Krisana V — Google review
The best restaurant in this area! Every dish we tried was incredible and felt like someone’s home cooking. We especially loved the holio garma and the mulida. The staff was super sweet and explained every item on the menu to us. The seating area was also so cosy. And do try their apricot juice! Enjoy your experience here 😊
Jessie W — Google review
RECOMMENDED‼️ It was like a treat going to this place. This place has some spectacular sceneries and a variety of traditional meals to try. We tried their famous Chap Shoro made with yak meat and spinach pasta. Both dishes were delicious.
Sanwal N — Google review
Laal Shehzadi's Hunza Food Pavilion is by far my favourite place to eat in Karimabad. Here, you will get a taste of delicious authentic local cuisine cooked with the freshest, organic ingredients, which Laal Shehzadi sources from local farmers. She prioritises buying from & employing women, having struggled herself to establish one of the first women-owned businesses in the area. Hunza Food Pavilion is truly a special place.
Nida K — Google review
We tried their Chap Shoro, Daal Chawal, and Dumplings. While Daal Chawal were good and tasty, other two dishes really stood out and made it totally worth it. The view is amazing and the service is friendly. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Organic restaurant
Hidden Paradise Hunza is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic taste of local cuisine in Hunza. The restaurant offers organic ingredients and generous serving sizes, making the dining experience worth it. Dishes like Beef & Yak Chapshuros, Qurtze Dowdo, Supra, and more showcase the rich flavors of the region. While some mention a longer wait time for freshly cooked meals, others praise the courteous staff and excellent ambiance.
Yak steak with a view. This is my 3rd visit to this place. The first time was around 2015, then 2018 and now 2024. The first time I had Yak steak (Supra) in wooden bowl with local beer. A lot has changed. Still a lovely spot for local food.

The best place to try local Hunza food. The food is very filling and the service is excellent since our server suggested good options for us to order and patiently explained each and every dish. It is best to order a platter if you are many persons. It is expensive but it is totally worth it. Clean, fresh organic food. The Chupshoros are amazing both the Yak Meat ones and the cheese ones. The meal is very filling since they use apricot oil. A must try!
Muaaz M — Google review
We tried their boneless Yak karahi and it was very tasty. The other Mash Daal and mix vegetables were good as well. This restaurant have some great views of Karimabad Hunza. It cost us around 1000 ruppes per person
Sanwal N — Google review
I have mixed opinions about this restaurant. When I visited, they had power outage and offered candle light dinner, which was odd. I only ordered for take away. They offered a free taste for their stake too, which was great. The issue is with the actual order I placed, I ordered Chap Shoru, their traditional pizza, it was pathetic and extremely expensive. I have had the same dish from other place with one tenth the price and good taste. So if you visit, only order the stake!
Nauman A — Google review
i am glad i found this place while walk on Karim Abad road. i visited number of restaurant but all of them has same food to offer and hardly offer traditional hunzai food. the place is so quiet with best view of Altit and ultar peak. they offer all kind of local cuisine specifically uniquely tailored to your taste nd i must say they have great chef and friendly staff...if visit hunza again will definitely visit this place with frds

We order a traditional daal mash and they told us it’s not available after 1.5 hours of waiting. I would definitely not recommend.

Imagine sinking your teeth into a slice of mouthwatering pizza while being surrounded by breathtaking mountain vistas. At Pizza Pamir, this delightful experience comes to life! This must-visit pizzeria has multiple locations throughout Hunza, including Aliabad, Karimabad, Hussaini Village, and the stunning Attabad Lake. Here, you can savor a unique fusion of traditional Italian recipes infused with local ingredients that reflect the essence of the Karakoram range.
I visited this restaurant during December when most eateries were closed, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise! The dishes were served on a sizzling hot pan, loaded with generous amounts of cheese, and absolutely delicious. The pricing was reasonable, reflecting the local standards. Highly recommended!
Sally C — Google review
Their pizzas are top-notch, really flavorful, and fresh. We ordered wings, fajita, malai boti, hot and spicy, and tikka pizza, and each one hit the spot. If you're from Karachi and like spicy food, you’ve got to try this place. The service is good and the staff is really warm and welcoming .

Very happy with our experience here. We had one of the premium pizzas, and it was full of ingredients, including abundant cheese. Service was very quick. Nice view of the town from upper floor seating.

The best pizza with the beautiful Place & Lovely Staff specially the owner of Pizza Pamir Mr. Amir. They say they have organic pizza it's really an organic pizza with the best secret recipe. I have tried their Special Pamir's Pizza flavour & believe me it's much much better taste than any other pizza in the Gilgit Baltistan region. Highly Recommended that whenever you visit Hunza must taste there pizza 🍕👍👍👍

Pizza Pamir on Fort Road near Baltit Fort in Hunza is a must visit. They use Sabroso chicken for their flavorful pizzas.I tried their pamir's special and pamir's afghan, If you’re from Karachi and love bold, spicy flavors, you’ll feel right at home here. Nestled in the historic Ganish village of Hunza, Rewayat Restaurant brings a unique dining experience that beautifully marries tradition with modern flair. Originally hailing from Islamabad, this charming eatery embraces a vibrant truck-art-inspired dhaba theme, featuring cozy outdoor seating on chaarpaias. Guests are treated to an inviting atmosphere where they can savor delicious Pakistani cuisine amidst stunning surroundings.
Exemplary food and service in Hunza! MR. KASHAN ABBASI is the best server at the restaurant! If you want polite & attentive service then ask for him! You wont regret it!
Khizer M — Google review
We ordered peshawari nameek mutton karahi, chicken briyani and other things were insignificant. The total cost shouldn’t have crossed 7k but at the end bill came out to be 9500. Which is slightly on the higher side other then that everything was good. Plus they charge a service fee and no one in hunza charges any service fee which was again the reason for 4 stars instead of 5

Very Good Food and Service. Muhammad Jawed sir did a very great job serving us. The food made by Mr. Faisal and Mr. Khalid was top quality with great taste. Highly recommended.

Great location Quick service And one of the best chicken karahi I ever had. Due to its location, nearly all the tourists coaches stop here to eat. It means at times they get people in the batches say 50-100 people in one go . Its not easy to manage such an influx. When I arrived, nearly 4 big tables with 25-30 people each were waiting for their orders. We were just 3 and ordered a chicken karahi. I spoke to the manager who was extremely accommodating hence my order arrived very quickly. I wa extremely happy with the quick service. The taste of karahi was icing on the cake, extremely tasty and well Cooked. If you are in hunza, don’t miss this place. Irfan Travel blogger Insta: Irfanstraveldiary Google local guide Level 7

Excellent. Good clean restaurant with attentive staff. The whole of the gilgit province has a large population of agha Khani population. Unfortunately as Sunni Muslims we are unable to eat the meet slaughtered by an Ismaili. The entire staff of rewayat is from Islamabad. Food was extremely nice. Ordered 8 chicken seekh kebabs which were soft and juicy and chicken handi and drinks and tea. The bill came to 5500 rupees. Enjoyable evening with good old Pakistani songs in the background.
I A — Google review
They have a variety of Pakistani dishes. We tried fish fingers, Chicken Dhaka, Reshmi Kababs and Handi, it was all really good and served hot. They have a variety of naans (bread) and all were well baked and tasty. The staff is very welcoming. Open sitting is also available. Washrooms need a bit cleaning but I’d put that more on the users. Wifi was not available. The place is new and indoor sitting was also neat and clean. I’ve also added pictures of their menu. As of now they don’t have any local hunza cuisines. Prices were reasonable considering the tourist season and location.

I went there in 2017. It is owned by a very hospitable and kind person. He and his family is well educated and courteous. My sisters and I loved the peach juice. It's out of this world experience. Then they offered us about 6-7 different kind of peaches. Some of the peaches were so juicy that we took it for apricot. They don't have the facility of take away cause they said, it's good when served fresh. If anyone is interested in take away of these juices, then one must take some wide mouthed bottle or covered jug, cause one has to travel by foot for a while. Anyway they also serve other traditional GB food too. Quality and quantity both were handsome. It's one of the must visit places,if you are planning to visit Baltit Fort during your stay at Hunza. Take care

Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Hunza, Armani Taste Point offers a delightful culinary experience that perfectly complements its stunning mountain views. This charming eatery is known for its authentic local dishes, such as Yak karahi and Chapshuro, both praised for their rich flavors and quality ingredients. The tender yak meat melts in your mouth, while the Chapshuro boasts a delicious filling that may be slightly oily but adds to its charm.
Food: We ordered Yak karahi and Chapshuro - both were amazing. Yak meat was so tender and juicy and Chapshuro had perfect filling inside although had a little bit of oil as you will take a bite the oil will drip. Service: We went there early in the afternoon i.e 3 pm ish so it wasn’t busy and they were able to make it for us quickly Atmosphere: Well its not a posh restaurant and gives a local vibe so 5 stars for that. It was clean, had clean washrooms and best of all it had a view of the mountains so what else you want

We tasted the chapshuro and the local soup (Dawdo soup) and all was very tasty and well cooked. The price was all right too, since we paid 1500 rupees for two people. Considering that Karimabad is full of touristy places that overcharge you for everything, this restaurant was homemade, tasty and good price.
Javier D — Google review
Paid 1040pkr for a plain veg soup and a terrible chicken veg served with terribly fouly-smell rice (the chicken dish costs 750rp in very small portion). The rice smells old and very bad to the point of inedible, I can only eat the chicken veg (so little I finish in 3 spoons). Though complained and returned the rice fully because it cannot be safe to eat, the bill came in full. They must only care about money. Spend your money somewhere else for the sake of worth. 100% NOT recommend. No ethics in business.

Nestled at the junction of Baltit Road and Karimabad Road, Hunza Snack Bar is a delightful little tea shop that captures the essence of local flavors. This cozy spot offers a warm atmosphere where you can savor traditional delights like Arzooq, a beloved bread made from flour, eggs, butter, and milk. Pair it with their aromatic Qehwa or indulge in homemade ice cream available in various flavors for a sweet treat.
Near Baltit Road and Karimabad Road junction we found a small tea shop, it’s named as “Hunza Snack Bar”. It is a small local tea shop that server’s tea, coffee, omelet and a local bread called “Arzooq”. Originated from the Baltit, Arzooq is made with flour, eggs, butter and milk and finally cooked in oil, it is one of the most famous bread of Hunza. As shortly as we sat in the shop we placed an order for tea, my daughter spotted this bread and ask the shopkeeper regarding this bread, and after his explanation about the bread, we add this to our order. The shop owner is a very well-spoken and friendly person and we have a long chit-chat with him while waiting for our breakfast. After the food was served and we taste the Arzooq, we found it very delicious and from that day till we stay in Karimabad, we daily have our breakfast at “Hunza Snack Bar” with Arzooq also a part of it.

Best place in Hunza Karimabad to have fresh organic juices, and herbal drinks The view is majestic with a spectacular view of Hunza valley and the mighty Rakaposhi in the backdrop

Juice Box Hunza is a perfect stop on your way to Baltit Fort. A small but charming spot offering fresh, organic, local juices that are both healthy and refreshing. I tried the cherry juice and wild flowers lemonade—both were super refreshing and full of natural flavor. You can really taste the purity of Hunza's local fruits. Prices are very reasonable: Cherry juice – Rs. 300 Apricot juice – Rs. 200 Lemonade – Rs. 200 Highly recommended for a quick, energizing break during your Hunza explorations.

Beautifully managed and crafted with very fine menu of fresh juices. The atmosphere doubles the treat. A must try in Hunza

This juice shop can’t be at a better location than this one. You need to stop here after a good hike to reach the fort and take a tour; once done then it’s located on the way back - to have a refreshing drink at the right time
