Really glad we came here for dinner. Gemma, our waitress was really nice and attentive. She looked after us really well. Rang up the day before hoping for a table of 8 with 2 dogs and they were really nice and were able to accommodate us at such short notice. The mussels are a must! I would highly recommend this place.

Food here was first class- everything was so fresh and we loved the local products used throughout the menu. View was great and service was brilliant too. I will definitely be visiting the other restaurants soon!

Seafood chowder was delicious. Muscle was a must have item. Seafood in general was great. Meat was slightly above average. Service was very good. The restaurant offered a surprise to my son. It’s his birthday night. So sweet!

We sat upstairs and the view is fantastic as was the food. We had the calamari, lamb on hashbrown to start followed by seafood linguine and king prawns. Couldn't fault the food. The only thing I can fault was that we weren't greeted as we entered the restaurant. We had to wait a while until someone spoke to us but apart from that our experience was fantastic. Visit you won't be disappointed.

Had a great meal here with my sister while visiting the area. My sister is allergic to shellfish and the staff were right on top of her menu choices - really great to see. I had the mussels (even though this is a “wrong” month for eating them) and they were divine - I haven’t had anything even close to them in terms of taste since Iived in Normandy. We were really pleased to be given a table in the patio area, which had great views of the water.

Best to book a table online as it’s always really busy. Worth the wait though because the food is delicious and the views are stunning. The outdoor patio area is definitely the best way to capture the panoramic views and smell the salty sea breeze.

Amazing food, beautifully presented but whilst the staff were nice enough, the service was slow and they clearly didn't have enough people on to deal with the amount of walk ins they accepted. Location is fab, terrace has a stunning view (but you will be fighting off sea gulls!) But the staff need a more experienced manager (or one on shift!) to organise them.

Modern, contemporary restaurant with beautiful views. The food was very nice, particularly the crab salad which was very fresh. The service was very friendly, but slightly disjointed at times with some small details missed such as needing to ask for side plates for starters. Overall, a lovely place to eat, would recommend.

Visited here on a Friday afternoon. Plenty of parking and it's close to the beach ⛱️ 😎, free parking. Large establishment located right near the beach, you're able to walk just over the dunes and you're at the beach. You have to order your food outside at Pat's Shack then you receive a buzzer when your food is ready. There's also an option to sit upstairs in the restaurant which has a different menu. Great place to eat & drink.

Our second visit this week. It's a lovely bar with great staff and very friendly atmosphere. Plenty of parking and dog friendly with a dog watering station outside. There's lots of seating inside the bar downstairs and outside seating overlooking the car park and sand dunes. There is a restaurant upstairs but I didn't get a chance to check this out. A very popular bar and base for local walkers and people visiting the beach. Quieter during the week and very lively at the weekend but to be fair, it was a bank holiday weekend. There is a small fast food outlet here as well that serves pizzas and other snack food. Well worth a look if you're in the area.

Excellent restaurant with a verry special setting. A wonderfully designed building, purched on the edge of the bay. The food was exquisite and the selection wad varried. Great for larger parties or a solo foodie.

Came across this place while on a walk so stopped for a coffee and some food. All the staff were so so lovely, I didn’t get any names but this made it the type of place I’d come to regularly if I lived nearby. coffees were lovely, loads of drink choices of all types and the food stall had pizzas, loaded fries and rice bowls which all looked incredible. We had the Korean chicken loaded fries and they were great. Overall great place with music playing, really friendly staff and lovely food.

We had a seat in the snug as it's dog friendly. What a lovely place to eat. Took hubby for a birthday meal, we weren't disappointed !

Had the fish and chips in the upstairs area. Fantastic Thin crispy batter on the flakey fish, chunky fresh chips and great mushy please. Food was fantastic and service was first class! Great setting with great views.

Lovely pub right on the bay with a big beer garden out the front with lovely views and a large free car park. Food was good with big portions although the menu was fairly limited but all the usual pub favourites were there. Very dog friendly both inside and out and very friendly and welcoming staff.

I read a few reviews whilst looking for dog friendly pubs in the area and I'm glad that I came across this establishment. The first time around I went for the crab sandwich with a side of whitebait and it was outstanding. The sandwich was fresh and I'm not sure if it was a touch of dill, the freshness or some sort of secret ingredient they add to the crab. The whitebait had a perfect light and seasoned coating. One of the best lunches in a very long time, so good I returned the following day. When I returned I noticed the specials board and they had a 1/2 lobster special, with a larger sharer available which essentially turned it into a surf and turf. It was special indeed! The staff were friendly and helpful. I hope to return one day.

I’ve been going to The Ship since I was a child, so I was a bit skeptical when I heard it was under new management. However, my partner and I went for a meal tonight and it was absolutely lovely. The food was still great, and the service was excellent too. We were served by a lady called Stacey who was great. It’s nice to see The Ship has been left in good hands!

The location was truly beautiful, offering wonderful views outside that enhanced the overall experience. We ordered the bone-in steak, which was generously sized, perfectly cooked, and the staff kindly suggested sharing one between two people. They were very accommodating, providing extra plates and sides to ensure it felt like a complete meal. Everyone we encountered was exceptionally helpful and friendly, including the following day when they kindly assisted with information regarding a lost mobile phone. While the décor and fittings showed a bit of wear, a fresh coat of paint and a few replacement furnishings in a few areas could easily elevate the space to match the high standard of hospitality.

Great experience all round,the whole visit was outstanding from ordering drinks,food,the views the oldley worldly look,amazing. This was on our list to visit on our week here,the place delivered everything and more,they even played spirit of the blues 💙,brilliant time had by my wife and I

Lovely food. The chowder was excellent and the general view and vibe lovely. We took a stroll from Traeth Coch Pentraeth car park, around the bay, for lunch here, before walking back at low tide. Would recommend! Food, including burgers were good, though £20 is a bit much for a burger and chips, even in this day and age, same for a chowder though there was plenty of seafood in it, which isn’t always the case.

This place is about the location and the location is outstanding. We visited on a sunny weekday afternoon as we passed through the area… I am so glad we made this a place to go … leave the main road and treat yourself to a stop here. People and dog friendly indoor and outdoor seating. We didn’t eat so I can’t rate the food but it looked good. We sat with a beer and soaked up the peace. The staff were chatty and polite. Interested in our bikes and travel. I aim to be back.

Read about this place online, sounded well worth a visit so booked a table the day before. Arrived and seated quickly, ordered drinks and food. Food was fantastic! No complaints whatsoever. And the snickers trifle has to be the best desert I've ever had!!!

Really nice staff, kindly moved us upstairs where it was a little more quiet. Service was pretty quick even on a busy Saturday evening. We were pretty much left on our own, the staff checked in once or twice but we didn’t feel bothered by them like in some places. We ordered some nachos for starter and then the seafood platter for two. The portion was so big we could not finish it and ended up taking a lot of it with us but it was absolutely delicious!

Hadn’t made a reservation but they found us a table very quickly. Myself and my wife were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience we received by the friendly staff. Service was excellent. Drinks arrived so quickly even though the place was very busy followed by our main, and what a main it was absolutely fantastic so tasty with proper roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings and gravy. We had a two course a main and a pudding,I suggest other so called pubs and restaurants locally call in there quietly and see how it done

We had a wonderful Sunday roast, traditional yet modernised. Many vegetarian options (including a really original and tasty vegetarian roast). Good ales. Welcoming staff. A very pleasant place.

Catch 22 is a really cool and friendly place. A very imaginative selection of dishes and a good vegan menu too. It has a kind of Scandi vibe decor, and a very friendly team. Highly recommend for a visit if you’re on Anglesey.

I had a lovely meal here today, the roast was the best i’ve had in years! The porchetta was delicious and i need that gravy recipe! Service was wonderful and i will be back soon. Thank you team

Everything was absolutely amazing!!! The service, the food, the decor. The only thing they could do better, is have another premises in South Wales so we could visit more often!! Didn't get to post my husband's food as he started eating immediately!

What a fall from grace! Was last here2 years ago and had a brilliant meal! Last night I took my young family there and have never had to complain and leave an establishment, before even been served our main before! Staff are friendly and trying, but are woefully under trained and under staffed! Food quality is very poor for the price point! Hopefully they can sort going forward as it’s a great building in a great spot!

What's more to say, good food, good location, friendly and helpful staff. Hey eating outside can be an issue, seagull problem, but that's normal for these places. In sum we had great food, dogs were welcomed and looked after and a nice little soujorn on our day out.

Absolutely fantastic stay, lovely room, beautiful food and lovely staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again. If you want a great stay in beautiful surroundings you be need to pay a visit.

Right on the main street in Beaumaris and a lot bigger on the inside than you would think from the outside. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Food was very delicious. An okay selection of alcoholic drinks and reasonable priced. Would definitely visit again.

It breaks my heart to say this since I have been coming to The Bull with the family for many years, but it was clear this year that the standards have gone completely downhill. The restaurant manager and food offerings are nowhere near as good as they used to be. One night we waited one hour for the food. My husband's meal seemed to be like a ready meal. On the day we left, there was instant coffee, intermittent bread and butter, no tongs to pick up the bread which everyone was handling. The beautiful pain au chocolat that used to be there are now clearly freezer heat and serve. The staff seem to be unhappy and not properly trained. I cannot blame the manager for kitchen staff not coming to work, but I can blame her for not listening to customers. She spent most of the evening talking the tables around us down, to prevent them from making a complaint, ignoring the other customers. There is a lot of goodwill for The Bull built up over years (this place was stellar), but this will be lost if things continue like this. The Inn Group need to stop cutting corners to reduce costs and look at the staffing and training situation urgently!!

Came for a few drinks with friends of an evening. Staff were very friendly and very helpful when recommending menu items and drinks. The Bull Inn is definitely worth a visit if you ever pass through Beaumaris. Whether you’re local or on holiday ❤️

Could be great - clearly short staffed on day we ate there (? Need more staff?) Made a booking but on arrival took them about 10mins to sort a table - just had us stood in a busy bar area with no communication as they tried to make a table. Service then was terrible - was bar ordering which took about 15mins until served due to only one staff taking orders and making drinks, not a nice relaxing experience at all. Food was nice, however cheese and onion pie ordered for two of our party and was meat pie when it arrived - terrible! Outside beer garden is lovely. Need more staff and better orgainisation.

The staff were very busy but still had time to see you were happy. Ensured we were happy with our selection. The food was utterly delicious and presented well. Best Tapas we’ve had anywhere. Only visiting the area but would highly recommend it, will go back when we visit again. The chef gave us a wrong dish but I said it was lovely and they gave us our original dish for free. How good was that!

I'm sorry to say, this was a big disappointment. Food portions on the whole are very small. Some items like the bread and patatas were very generous but others were barely a bite. Ordered patas bravas, it didn't come. Asked one of the waiters, was told it was coming. 20 minutes later, told it was missing from the bill, asked if we still wanted it. Another 15 minutes go by... At this point we are well passed eating all our other items. Asked them to cancel it so we could get the bill, then then still tried to charge us for it! The staff were very nice and the place is lovely and clean. It's just a shame it's overpriced and there were not enough staff to manage, leading to errors and poor communication.

We had a brilliant meal at The Midland Tapas and Wine Bar last night. The food was genuinely excellent - some of the best tapas we’ve had outside of Mallorca, and that’s saying something! Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Our waitress, Mia, was also fantastic - friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. A bonus: it’s dog friendly too, which made the experience even better for us. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality tapas in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

We arrived for our table 10 minutes early. The table wasn’t ready (understandably) and instead of suggesting we grab a drink at the bar, the waitress told us to come back later. The food was absolutely awful. We had the chorizo with fries and egg. The eggs were dreadful, and the chorizo was pale and cold. The croquettes were soggy, sat in oil from the fryer, and also cold. Their service was poor at best, and the waitress didn’t check on us during the meal. When I explained that the two dishes were inedible, she took one of them off the bill. I then had to ask for the other to be removed. She then asked how everything was! I said it was awful and she replied with ‘sorry to hear that’ and walked away! The whole experience was terrible! The wine was good though!

A strange (in a nice way) place. The concept is tapas but they do full size pizzas and other non Spanish type dishes. The food was good our favourite was the Peeking Pig. We don’t get a chance to return but would go back. Is dog friendly

What. A. Place!!! This was one of the nicest collections of small plates I've ever eaten. And I've been to a fair few tapas restaurants in my time. The atmosphere inside was bustling but not loud, the owner was working this night and she was just lovely. Every member of staff had a great attitude, and you could just tell that every customer was having a great time. Match all of this up with the gorgeous and well-priced food, and you can tell why the place was full. I can't wait to go back!

I found them on Google, randomly searching for a place to have lunch. They were busy but they found a place for us - a strike of luck! The bistro is in a great location and has a nice sea-themed decor. They also have a decent food and drink choice. The staff and service is amazing. Please, book in advance if you want to ensure that you will get a table. Ideal for couples and bigger groups as well. Highly recommended!

First visit to this lovely cosy bistro and lovely fresh food had a window seat with a view of the harbour it was a bit of a grey day but a nice warm welcome inside my son and I shared a sharing starter and skipped straight to desert food was delicious will definitely be back again soon it can get busy so probably best to book

We didn't make a reservation so they could only seat us at 1+pm which wasn't a problem. We just walked along the promenade to build up an appetite! So four hungry people ordered a crab & lobster sandwich, a seafood bisque with homemade spicy rum infusion, a hamburger and a haddock fish and chips. The bisque was great especially with the spiced rum. And the owner seeing is so taken with it, poured an extra tot off the run first is two taste neat! Very nice! The fish and chips were great as well. The fish was very fresh and the chips were extra crispy. The other set of chips were kind of fat so less crispy and needed ketchup 😁 The other two dishes were good but not as memorable as the bisque and fish. The dishes were large as well and we had to give up on dessert and coffee! Will definitely return, this time with a reservation!

I have the Seabass every time! The family always goes for the tapas wich they always enjoy. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I always look forward to dining here.

Stayed here this weekend (2 nights). Fantastic pub and cosy rooms, really friendly staff. The pubs has two bars plus a restaurant area, all of which have a great atmosphere and classic pub feels. We had breakfast included which was a help yourself to drinks and cereals/ yogurts/ fruits plus a cooked option which you order. Went for the Welsh breakfast both mornings which was good. Also ate in the bar one evening and had wings to start followed by the burger. You can order from the table using a QR code however that didn't include the specials so we had to order from the bar in the end. Not a problem at all. Good location next to the castle. Would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic experience at The Black Boy Inn! The food was spot on — fresh, full of flavour and served nice and hot. The beer was great too, really good selection and perfectly poured. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed but lively at the same time. You can tell there’s real care and pride in what they do here. Definitely one of the best places around for good food and a proper pint. Highly recommend! 🍻

Restaurant looking good, very cosy (at least room first on right). I receive very tasty lamb shank, and my wife got a lovely pie, all piping hot. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either. We left restaurant full and satisfied. Highly recommended!!

The location itself is fine, the pub is a historic inn, located within the castle walls and looked worth a visit when we were looking at places to eat and drink. We didn't have a meal here but dropped in twice during our stay in the town. Both occasions I had the pleasure of being served by one of the rudest members of staff I've ever encountered. Definitely won't bother again.

Can’t comment on the hotel/rooms as we just visited the restaurant. Ordered the lasagne and mixed grill. The mixed grill was fine but the lasagne was really odd - not at all like the traditional dish - no layers, no sauce in the mince, no white sauce - just minced beef with a sheet of lasagne on top and topped with chopped tomatoes and cheese. Really bizarre and not at all to our taste. Can’t say we would return but the atmosphere was nice, service was fine - maybe we just ordered the wrong dish!

A return stay at Black Boy Inn, we’ve enjoyed their unique and spacious rooms inside the confines of the old walled city. The beds have all been very comfy. They have 16 on-site parking spots (albeit snug), with 4 EV chargers at 22kw. They’ve a Restaurant, a Pub, and a Bar. The included Breakfast was a very good start to the day.

Great hotel with lovely rooms. Can bit a tad noisy while the bars still open. But the hotel is smack bang in the castle walls. It has great historical information all around the hotel and gardens.

Hidden Gem! This place is wonderful, as you head down the country lanes to get there. You think are we nearly there? Set beautifully in the middle of no where, the setting inside and out is stunning. We sat inside under the glass roof. Only complaint was it really warm in this location. The food was amazing, no complaints from a table of 7. I had the fish and chips and it was massive! I couldn't finish it...photo attached. The sticky toffee pudding was also fantastic. Massive slab of pudding enough to feed 3 of us. I would highly recommend the white eagle.

A bit out of the way and we'll the trip. Very dog friendly. The food was excellent and a good variety on the menu. A word of warning they are large portions, so order with care. The staff are very friendly and the service is very good. Will definitely be back.

Been there before for a special occasion Food and service is good but can be a hit and miss at times. Vegetarian meals are limited. They welcome dogs but stopped offering the dedicated dog menu they used to offer.

We visited here since previously walking past and wanting to give it a try. On arrival, it was pretty busy and (totally our personal problem) we have a reactive dog. This place had quite a lot of dogs and children so the staff allowed us to stay outside where you’re not normally supposed to be served food. We really appreciated this and it made the world of difference and we really appreciate the staff going out of their way to accommodate us. The menu was classic with a decent range, slightly on the pricier side, however every single thing we ordered was really tasty and the service was great, despite the business, which justified this. I had some small plates which were great, the hot honey chicken wings were a favourite, and the fish and chips was a great portion, as well as the steak which was well cooked with really well cooked, soft but crispy chips. Lovely location for a walk before/after also. Would definitely recommend here, whether it be for a drink or food! And if we lived closer we would definitely return.

Very nice location, beautiful views from the outdoor area, good food, if a little pricey. Downside is the approach lane is single track, and Rhoscolyn is off the beaten track, but that's what keeps us going back.

Stunning place inside and out, we sat on balcony with a sea view, my son had a young diners fish and chips with peas and curry sauce , which was a large portion, reasonably priced , lovely staff, live great music, thank you guys ,on our fav places now 😊

Highly recommend to book - we couldn't get an evening slot so went late lunch time. Food was great for all seven of us. There's a gin and fizz hut outside with great seating and epic views. Access to the beach, a play area and a ice cream hut! A definite must if visiting the area!

We had the lamb which was cooked to perfection as were the vegetables and the crushed potatoes, the profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding were also delicious for desert, it's a high end gastro pub in style so don't mind paying a little bit more and treating yourself to a delightful meal every now and then

Just had a Sunday roast here. It was served hot and cooked well, with good flavour overall. Personally, I felt the portion of meat could have been more generous, and the roast potatoes were a bit disappointing—just one large one cut in half. The Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and lacked substance. The service was good, and the views are fantastic, but the piano music was quite loud, making conversation difficult if you're seated nearby. Overall, not a bad Sunday roast in a lovely location.

Smart, modern building in a fantastic setting with panoramic views from Moelfre to the Great Orme. Delicious food and great service from Alex, Jordan and all at The Tavern. Many thanks, we will be back!

I have severe allergies and the staff were very accommodating. They offered alternatives to items I couldn't eat, I'm very impressed and would highly recommend to anyone with allergies. They also offered the vegetarian kids dish in an adult size which was amazing. The restaurant was very busy but plenty of parking and tables. The atmosphere inside was really nice, even though it was busy we were able to have a proper conversation and hear each other. Tables and facilities were very clean.

This is a great pub for food. Never a bad meal after 4 visits. The menu is varied and had some great choices. Service is normally very good with staff being friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is okay, although noise levels can interfere The Wednesday pub quiz at 9pm is recommended and well attended. Get there early though to bag a seat

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and excellent food. Fish and chips were excellent, light crispy batter just how it should be, all three of us were served promptly and the food arrived really fast !

Called in without booking and they fit us in even though it was busy. Staff were very friendly, orders taken and meals arrived in good time. We had a chefs special, sweet chilli chicken skewers, steaks strips with salad and halloumi salad. Food was absolutely delicious and generous portion sizes. Shame we could fit a dessert in! Would highly recommend 👌

Lovely friendly pub with a beautiful grassy beer garden. We only popped in for drinks but heard very positive comments about the food, especially the pizza. They do a veggie and a vegan pizza option and apparently a deal on a Thursday. Great for dogs!

We were a family of 5 hoping to order some pizzas but this wasn't available until later in the day so we chose alternatives which were enjoyed by us all. The staff were really lovely and patient, as our kids are fussy and drive us bonkers wherever we eat (they get this from me 🤦🏼‍♂️).

Great little find. The staff squeezed us in as we didn't have a booking. The food was amazing and the portions were great. Would definitely eat here again if we were in the area.

I regularly come here for Sunday Lunch. It is always plentiful, well cooked and served. The prices, compared to other pubs in the area, are reasonable, and both the landlord and his staff are friendly and attentive. I always enjoy the food, which is tasty and served hot. Anglesey is a dog-friendly island, but the staff here are extremely accommodating and welcome well behaved dogs into the pub. I am a devotee of their roast dinners, but friends and family tell me that the pizzas are very good, as are the other meals served during the week. There is a nice beer garden in Summer to sit outside.

Visited here with 4 adults, 2 dogs and children aged 2, 5, 9, 9, 11 & 14. Everyone found something they wanted on the menu. Absolutely delicious food, we were all wanting to go back there but we ran out of time on our trip. Great quality food, quick service and even bought over water for the dogs.

Typical Wetherspoons. Food was ok, could have included a sauce for the steak, curry wasn't anything to write home about. Would have preferred the steak to be cooked slightly more. Staff were pleasant, can't fault them. 85% of people Welsh as a first language in the area. Diolch is thank you. Prices are what's most attractive about the place to be fair. Would come again but when meals are on offer. Stella tasted odd, kind of chemically? Lemonade tasted cheap. Ok for the price though of course.

Absolutely value the money. Served locally beers as well as from other parts of the country. They serve the beer at very low prices. Staff was friendly. Perfect location with less atmosphere. But, hey! Cheap, cheerful and pretty tasty. Who’s not to love it.

Right beside the castle walls. Very clean toilets and friendly staff. Explained the beers origin when asked. Good to sit on their terrace. Great beer selection and wine on offer. Centrally located.

First time at this pub. The barmaid was very approachable and friendly. Unfortunately we couldn’t bring our dogs in but we could have sat outside on the benches. It was a little chilly so we took the dogs home and decided to try the carvery. Baring in mind it was ten minutes before the carvery ended, so perhaps it wasn’t the best timing for optimal food condition. There was plenty of choice, sadly the roast potatoes were way overdone. Rock hard exterior and hardly any interior potatoe so just passed their best. The stuffing was shop bought paxo type, not homemade. Same with the Yorkshire puddings, shop bought not homemade. It was a shame the roast potatoes, stuffing and yorkies were below par as it’s these things that can elevate a roast dinner.I have a feeling the beef isn’t roasted on site and is cooked elsewhere and just heated up onsite. However, if you want a big plateful of food that’s perfectly edible then this is the place. They have a good selection of puddings and my Son loved his ice cream sundae. This pub is great for a budget meal out. The portions are great and staff are welcoming. The roast was only £13 each, so you can’t expect a gastro extravaganza for that price point. Cheap, cheerful and a great place to bring the kids.

Thought we would stop here for something to eat as they had a play area for the kids. Had the carvery and am really disappointed. Turkey and beef were extremely dry, mash was lumpy, veg tasted as if it had been frozen, roasts were burnt and had a horrible taste, stuffing was so hard I couldn't bite through it. Don't normally do reviews but, I didn't want anyone else wasting their money.

Popped in on a whim for carvery, and was so impressed. The pub itself is a little dated but very clean and tidy. The team were very friendly and efficient, managed to squeeze us in even though we hadn’t booked. The gentleman serving carvery was really friendly and pleasant, clearly very proud of the product he was serving! The carvery was absolutely stunning, meats all cooked beautifully, all the trimmings you could possibly want, all well cooked, hot and plentiful. A really nice find, will 100% be back!

Sells carvery all day, every day. Decent location, lots of parking. On a Sunday, reservations are a must. The food, depending on the day/time you get there is either good, or simply mediocre. As with all carveries, it depends on how long it's been standing. Avoid the icecream Sundays, they are the "screwball" type that you get from the freezer. They put the "screwball" plastic cone inside a fancy glass, dressing it up with whipped cream on top. Price is about average.

Stopped off on our journey back home . We had the midweek carvery. Wow, the food was lovely the portions were as much as you could carry. But the Prawn cocktail starter was gorgeous and so many Prawns it was almost a meal in itself. Great choice of drinks. The staff were friendly. Well worth a visit.

Great location and views over to Angelsey. Had dinner here and it was tasty . Service was good and the young men doing the waiter service and bar were really polite and efficient. The only thing was the toilets were poor. They smelt bad and needed cleaning. On the wall was a vending machine selling dodgy, love aid tablets. This looked terrible. Added to the seedy toilet. This was the men's toilet. Get rid of it. Employ a good cleaner. Being dog friendly is a pub bonus.

I visited the Anglesey Arms with two friends mainly for an overdue catch up and a couple of drinks, the sun was shining and the location of this place is second to none! It was very busy when we arrived but the staff were quick to serve. The only thing that annoyed us was the wasps as we decided to sit outside but that’s not the pub’s fault, it didn’t ruin what was otherwise a very pleasant afternoon

First visit for a few years because it became shabby, service got very slow, tables didn't get wiped very often and the wait for food was so long I could have swam to Anglesey and back. Called in a couple of days ago with a friend who was staying with me from London and thought I had walked into a different place. The new owner has made it cleaner and nicer, he is far more welcoming than the last time we went. I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat but we will go back now we know it has changed. Great views across the sea, great sunsets and plenty of seating outside too. Definitely worth a visit now

Had a couple of hours in Caernarfon before doing the trip on the Welsh Highland Railway, was looking for somewhere to have lunch and this looked just the right place. A historic pub in an ideal location just across the road from the castle. There's an outdoor carvery and outside tables with sun umbrellas. The pub was clean and comfortable inside too, with a well stocked bar and a good choice of beers. But I did not find it very welcoming. I was standing at the bar for nearly 10 minutes before the two girls who were serving even acknowledged me. Not many options to choose from on the lunch menu. I ordered the jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn, served with salad and coleslaw. It was served quickly and the food was okay, but the potato was more warm than hot and there was no sweetcorn on it. Not an expensive lunch but it could have been a lot better. Would try somewhere else if I returned to Caernarfon.

A nice pub with a good food menu and range of drinks. Unfortunately they didn’t have any Welsh beers due to being a Robinsons pub, which was a shame. TVs at the back for the sports, which means the front of the pub stays quiet. Good idea!

Cute cosy bar with a great selection of starts and small bites. They were all presented beautifully and were delicious. The pizza on the other hand was a bit more average. But all in all, a great place to grab a drink, hang out with friends and have a small bite!

Came across this establishment yesterday for the first time. I was mighty impressed as soon as I walked in. The locals and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We decided to order a bite to eat and again we were not disappointed. The food was incredible. We had to wait a whil but this was because is was getting freshly cooked which is always a good sign. The pork bites (forgot to take a picture) is a must for a starter, they were amazing. We followed up with a pizza which was also very nice. Well recommended

No food being served but they're happy for you to bring in a takeaway. The draught cider was off but had good bottled cider to compensate. Service was good and the bar area wàs nice, just a little quiet while I was there.

My partner and I visited the Stores on two different night during our one-week stay here. Both times we were greeted by amazing service by Elle, and absolutely incredible food and drink. Elle tackled busy nights and lots of customers to serve but never failed to bring friendly service and make us feel welcome. On the first night we tried the chocolate mousse with pine nut brittle and olive oil and sea salt garnish and oh my gosh it was incredible. We also visited the Stores Deli on one of the days which was really nice. I couldn’t praise the Stores restaurant higher, the service from Elle was lovely, even on the busy night of Easter Sunday. The food was so delicious and filling, and really good for the price. I would definitely return! Thank you for such a lovely experience for me and my partner.

Seen this place on You Tube so made it our end of the East side of Anglesey day trip . So glad we chose to eat in the back garden next to the tee pee, with chilling music and cold beer , we ordered our pizzas and dips and chilled . Beer was a local ipa cold and hit the spot , soon our food was delivered and wow that also hit the spot , plenty to eat with some leftovers, we were giving a pizza box to doggy up our supper . Quality food and a great outdoor area to enjoy 👏👍🍻

Me and family visited here a couple times therefore my review is from a range of experiences. Pizza is tasty but expensive with not much topping, whether we just ordered on a bad day I’m not sure. My family also went to the back for Cocktails and left after 20 minutes as nobody was served. Went in for a coffee and a lemonade one morning and the coffee was actually really nice and the wait wasn’t long, which made me want to return as I also saw lobster rolls on offer which is a very rare treat for me. Returned, therefore, for a lobster roll, scotch egg and an iced matcha. The lobster roll came out first, and it took about 15 minutes for the matcha to follow. I thought it they’d forgotten about me but it got there eventually. The matcha was bitter, scotch egg was dry as if it had been left on the counter for way too long and the lobster roll was tasty, but not worth £14. The brioche wasn’t even toasted or buttered, not a proper lobster roll unfortunately because I love them, and I feel a bit robbed at that😬. Overall, slow service, food is very meh for the price but the coffee is really nice and the cakes look good, as well as friendly staff. They have so much potential and loads of good stuff on offer but wouldn’t return.

We dived in here for a pizza for our son during our stay in Trearrdur. A lovely setting out the back garden, so inviting! So we had to order cocktails while waiting for our pizza. The staff were wonderful, especially the mixologist at the bar. The pizza? One of the best he's ever eaten!

Every single dish we ordered was fantastic. That included gambas, patatas bravas, arancini, chicken with aioli, margherita pizza, truffling pig pizza, mushroom pizza, pepperoni pizza and spicy vodka pizza.

This is my go to place for morning coffees whenever we are holidaying in Trearddur Bay. The deli part is very welcoming and the staff are friendly. We've also had pizza several times to take out and eat on the beach. They are really great pizzas with lots of flavour. Definitely a must if you are spending a day on the beach.

Amazing little bar, for the smallest bar in Wales, it is very well stocked with all types of drinks, including some locally sourced. Barman was polite and chatty, and the bar is very well presented. Will definitely pop in again on my next visit to Caernarfon.

During our trip to Caernarfon, my partner and I stumbled upon "The smallest bar in Wales," and we couldn't be happier that we did. The bar is quaint and cozy, with a character that's all its own. The friendly staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and we were delighted to find a nice selection of drinks available. One of the best things about this bar is the atmosphere. Sitting opposite on the castle walls where tables and chairs are provided, we were able to enjoy our drinks. It is an experience that we won't forget anytime soon.

The barman put the game on specially for us, the locals were really friendly and even rooted for our team by the end. This is a classic little Welsh dive bar out in the old Wales. Authentic. It's probably been around for generations. Great spot for a tourist to have a quick drink, soak up some local culture. I'm sure a lot of tales of the sea were told in this place over the many years. Good prices, good service, good selection of Welsh beers. Friendly folks, one guy taught my kid darts (kids welcome in the day time). We had a good time here. Place could use a cleaning and a new carpet, but hey, I guess that's a part of the atmosphere. Good times.

Come here often after work, lovely pub, bar staff lovely great atmosphere here but the alcohol is expensive when you've got wetheres spoons round the corner for half the price, but i choose to come here because of the atmosphere and you get a warm welcome

This place made we wish we lived here. What a husband and wife duo! The service and smile and friendly warm chat from the staff topped with what I might say was the best, lasagne, pizza and coleslaw I've ever tasted was just absolutely second to none.. the chocolate brownie and ice cream went down a treat also! Had a lovely evening out for drinks with family, and returned the next day for tea. Fabulous atmosphere, exceptionally friendly staff and really good food at reasonable prices. Just had a Sunday roast in this lovely pub for the first time and it was just perfect, the owners are super friendly and welcoming and the food was just perfect home cooked large portions everything tasted home cooked including the puddings. During my visit, the pub was hosting a gin & vodka tasting night. There was a great atmosphere and the event was excellent value for money. I really liked the rhubarb vodka! It wasn't a huge place, but it was clean and the staff were friendly. I would be very keen to attend another event like this one.

Excellent quality food. Generous portions. Friendly atmosphere with table service. Ideal location not far from Red Dwarf Bay. Burger tasted fresh and was seasoned well. Prices are a bit inconsistent especially with the drinks. £6 for a guinness is a bit steep. Meals range between £16 and 25 which is on the upper end, however restaurant and pub prices accross Anglesey seem to be in that range for meals. Car park needs some work to fix the potholes. Overall a nice place for eating out, the price reflects the quality of food. Wouldn't be a regular place to eat if you're on a budget.

I rarely find myself so impressed that I felt I absolutely had to leave a review. Huge compliments to the chef on duty around 2pm 19th Oct. Quite literally the best roast dinner eaten out that I have ever tasted. The lamb was cooked to perfection and I could taste the rosemary and (I think) garlic, red wine too altho perhaps in the jus. I could taste the butter in the mash and the vegetables were nicely al dente (not under-cooked and not mushy), with lovely crisp mange-tout / snap peas. It was just as I would do for my family at Christmas to make a better-than-usual roast. And excellent value for money 🙏

Service quite disjointed, new staff getting used to working here it seems which is fair enough. Food was okay, there was a hair in the fish from fish and chips, menus should have intolerance notices as my friend was passed around to different staff after asking about gluten free options.

Lovely atmosphere and great service, although food was less than desirable. All but one of our party disliked our food, the chicken wings were overcooked and tasteless, the beef burger was salty and bland, the spicy chicken burger was just overall bad and the “spicy” sauce was incredibly sweet. The fries were good though. Come for the vibes not the food .

We called in on the off chance to see if they could accommodate us, a party of 4, and due to a party that hadn't turned up, we were able to have a table. The Bold Arms is in a good spot but no parking. The bar area and seating are not inviting whatsoever, it feels cold with very little soft furnishings. We stayed in room 2, it was right over the entrance to the pub and noisy at times with locals and staff standing smoking in the entrance hallway, it wasn't nice to walk through either! The room had been painted for the season so pretty clean enough however you will see in my photos that the bed was the width of the wall it was on so no room for a bedside table and on one side we had to shuffle sideways to get in! Think you get the picture, the shower cubicle was dirty and mouldy. Would we recommend it NO

Popped in with our dogs as a sign says dogs welcome and they are with their own Doggy Bar of fresh water and treats all free. The food is straightforward with lots of options. The quality was excellent and better still very very good value for money with many main dishes under a tenner. Highly recommended by us for a pop in lunch if visiting the town.

We didn't stay but came for an evening meal during half term after reading the positive reviews - it also seems to be one of the only pubs in Beaumaris that offers decent food and is still dog friendly. Great value for money, massive portions, very tasty meals with plenty to choose from. Friendly, quick service plus pool tables & free darts for the family. I recommend asking if there are any deals on food as while we were there pizzas were buy 1 get 1 free but I just overheard it, didn't see it being advertised. We had a delicious hot dog, gyros, a pizza & a kids meal - very happy, thanks!

We had been in the area for the day and wanted to have some food in a place that was dog friendly. This came up ans we didn't need to book, just walked in. It seems to be a locals pub with friendly and helpful staff. We ordered 4 main meals and they were absolutely delicious. Well presented, great amount of food and piping hot. Really well priced too. Our only gripe, is some of the staff were very loud, and swore alot. This made us uncomfortable especially with little ears listening... I went to go and have a word, but the chap moved into the bar area where he remained. Lovely guy, but my word..... please reeowct your surroundings. I recommend this place for food, in a locals pub. 👍🏻

Disgusting food had to send two dishes back. Shocking service and got over charged for drinks we never ordered! The Manager was not one bit helpful when we told him we were dissatisfied with the food and refused to give us a refund so I suggested if we could have drinks instead as we did not want to eat any of that food, he would not allow that either. We spent 100 pounds on a few processed disgusting sandwiches. Staff were absolutely clueless and the food was really bad quality would not recommend and absolutely will not be returning.

Does the job if you just need a bed in a convenient location. Short walk from the Menai Bridge. Wasn’t loud on a Sunday night. Do note the rooms are only accessible by stairs so might not be suitable for someone with disabilities or large suitcases. There is tea/coffee facilities in the room though the sink was too shallow so I had to fill the kettle with the shower head 😂 shower gel is provided in the room too

Stayed for one night whilst attending an event in Bangor. It was a little further away than I thought it would be but fortunately got a lift out and a taxi back. Didn't use the pub, only a room review. Checked in behind the bar, check in and then you're free to do what you want to do. Key fob to get in on the fire escape. Rooms are basic but what you need. Noisiest pub ever if you want to sleep or hear yourself think don’t bother, I’ve had headaches and painkillers both days.Stairs out the back when pub closed are fire escape not for older or children. Pleasantly surprised to find how nice this pub is on the inside. A large group of us had a meal here and everyone seemed happy with what they had. The drinks process are particularly reasonable, too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hadn't been before but I will definitely be going again.

Absolutely fantastic food really tasty steak pie with homemade chips. Best meal we have had since we came on holiday. My husband said it's the best pub grub he has tasted in a long time. Highly recommend.

Having recently moved to the area, we were delighted that Y Cefn Glas have started serving takeaway food. The pizzas are absolutely scrumptious and my husband and I would definitely recommend! We cannot wait for the pub to open properly again so we can enjoy food and drinks indoors :)

Went here for a meal tonight. The whole meal through from starter to coffee was amongst the best pub meals I have ever had. Service was friendly and efficient. I can not recommend this place enough, except if you all go, I might not be able to get a table !

Avoid at all costs! Dirty, Overpriced, Bad Food & Cold. Booked a table for 12pm to have supposedly "The Best Sunday Lunch" according to a poster in the gents toilet. Spoiler alert.. it was far from it. As mentioned, we booked a table for 12pm and arrived at 11:57am we were then greeted by a polite yet very apologetic (for no apparent reason) member of staff witch took us to our table. We were given a choice of two tables one in the very back in what looked like an extension or one in a room off to the side of the kitchen/bar area. The member of staff advised that it might be cold in the extension so we opted to sit in the latter mentioned room. I'd hate to imagine how cold it was in the extension as thorough our time there we had to wear our coats and we were still cold. We then placed our order with the member of staff at around 12:05pm and then proceeded to wait 50 minutes for our Lamb Sunday Lunch to arrive. This would have been fine if the pub/restaurant was full but we were the only two people eating in the whole place! Whilst waiting for our food all we could hear was staff in the kitchen laughing and swearing very loudly the whole time, not exactly a relaxing atmosphere. When the food did finally arrive the member of staff acknowledged that it was a long wait on food and apologised. Now, if the food was good then all of this could have been excused, but to top everything off it was terrible! Especially for the price. The lamb had been sliced up in to wafer thin slices 50% of which was fat and was cold arriving to our table the rest of the meal (veg, gravy & potatoes) was very salty and was ironically very bland and uninspiring. We will certainly not be back and will advise friends and family to avoid at all costs. Some other notes about this place: - The whole interior is dated and dull - Not enough light in the eatery as I could barely see my partner sitting across the table. Personally I felt it was a tactic so that you couldn't see the horrendously overpriced food that they were serving you. - The floors were dirty as you can see from the pictures. - Table wobbled and had around 10 folded paper/cardboard coasters to rectify the issue that had clearly been there for a long time. see picture. - Toilets were dated an dirty, the type of restroom that you'd expect to see in a public WC at the rough end of a town. - Witnessed a kitchen staff member at the bar filling a pint glass with beer for himself. Not exactly what you want to see as a customer. This place has so much potential to be an amazing eatery and is clearly being failed by whomever is running the place. A real shame!

Terrible pub with bad views. Could barely see the bridge even from the conservatory. Very overpriced £24.85 for two pints, two large cokes and 4 bar snacks. Toilets horrible with piss and dirty toilet paper all over the floor.

Staff where lovely!! We were out for a special birthday treat, so I treated myself to the most expensive steak on the menu. This was my £30 fillet steak which I asked for RARE 😞 It was very well done round the outside, with a slight hint of pink in the middle. I should have just gone for the fish and chips.

To start with, we would like to thank Molly for the excellent service. Also for the water and doggy biscuits for our own four legged friend. Not a large menu but that’s what we look for in an establishment… Also there is a small, “Specials” menu. We chose the specials and had the short rib of beef with mash and veg… Absolutely gorgeous and almost exactly the way we cook it at home… Very tasty and a lovely jus to go with it… Definitely recommend to anyone in the area Give the place a try….

Far better menu choice than your average pub. The menu is inspired by various countries. Absolutely exceptional. The service was spot on, the young girl behind the various was so helpful and efficient.

Popped in for lunch with my mum yesterday. I was so impressed with the menu and the food. Something different to what else is around. All really tasty food quality and fresh. I had the Pork which was mouthwatering and my mum had the beef which was perfectly cooked and tender. We also couldn’t resist desert but the portions were huge so had to take most home. Will definitely be back soon

Aside from the lovely out of towners we met, as were the two of us, this was an awful way to spend 30 minutes. The juke box was playing so, so loudly it almost hurt your ears. And it was not very clean, tacky table tops, grubby cushions. Didn’t use the toilets so can’t comment on them. There was no thought to people coming in to have a relaxing drink. I would not recommend this place.

The atmosphere was great, the grounds beautiful. We stopped in for a drink. I would consider a stay. However, (we were off a cruise ship and casual) the waiter was very snooty. Should I intimidate easily, we would have left.

Recommended to us by the locals and they aren't wrong. Dog friendly, fantastic bar service. Lovely and warm and great chatty locals. Highly recommended after a nice walk.

Visited here whilst holidaying on the Isle of Anglesey last week. This was the local pub of the village of Bryngwran where my family and I stayed. Nice little village pub with very friendly staff. Great pub grub at very good prices. No actual children's menu however they offered us a smaller version of any dish from the menu so both my Daughters had Chicken Tikka Curry (last pic) Would highly recommend visiting here if you're visiting Anglesey.

Warm and friendly staff. Also helped mend a bicycle puncture. No draft ales but lovely pint of John Smiths. Great outdoor seating with protection from the weather. Looking forward to coming back for a meal 😀👍

Wow, what a fantastic little hidden gem of a pub, visited today with the hubby and our pooch. Sunday dinner was so so good, so much better than some well known pubs/restaurants. We will definitely be back soon.

Great friendly pub, plenty of outdoor space (both covered and open). Cider on tap is the best pint I've had, and at £3.30 odd it's cheap too! They've started doing food again, great pub grub, all fresh and sub - £10 for mains.

A friendly pub with great bar staff. Perfect for watching the Live football on weekends and midweek. It had a great atmosphere too and optional quiet back rooms away from the larger groups if needed. An archway also runs through to a side garden area that’s perfect for a drink and fresh air.

Great pub in Amwlch, there was 20 of us at the pub and Dylan behind the bar , made us all feel very welcome. Good prices for drinks and people in the pub friendly and were good to talk to. Thanks Dylan for a really good afternoon.

Great little pub, which pulled out the stops to put together some very tasty sandwiches, even though the village was basically closed for half day trading. Very helpful owner. Needs some attention and is a work in progress..... But they are certainly trying hard, and will no doubt achieve. 😎

Good night out with my son . It's my local ,proper pub , Andy the landlord offered free jukebox and gave us a generous amount of tokens for free pool .Being Man City fans we could even take the mickey out of Andy cos he follows Utd. Live footy also on a large screen .

Now, I really wanted to like this place BUT. On my visit here, for a pub to run out of core beers is a no-no in my book. No Guinness, no ale (they initially had a very acceptable ale as a substitute for Guinness, but they ran out of that too!) The lager was acceptable, but was not the beer of my first or second choice. All of the staff were faultless and deserve a big thank you for making a bland visit a lot more than that. Atmosphere was good and despite a virtually beerless pub, I will visit again in the hope of a better experience next time. Ordering improvements needed but not detrimental to a nice establishment with lovely people.

Popped in yesterday for a couple of pints and a game of pool as was travelling from Stoke-on-Trent and was in Holyhead for the day. Felt like the sort of pub I'd go to as soon as I walked through the door. Pretty busy, decent prices, friendly staff and punters and a mix of different people. Almost wish it weren't so far away! As would defo go again 👍

After visiting a pub not too far away of which we felt like we was treated like we was not welcome, we decided to move on and stumbled across place. Immediately it was a lot more inviting and less like we didn’t belong there being out of towners. The beer was fairly priced and the lady behind the bar was approachable and friendly enough. Great job 👍 (Also the dog was not a problem)

What started as a great Sunday afternoon of folk music in the heart of Holyhead a few weeks back has made this my local... Easter Sunday I decided to eat after a long walk, the pizzas are cooked to order from fresh. A real welcoming pub that you end up spending all day in !

Atmosphere at The Old Shipping Office is fantastic. Proper old seaside pub that you can imagine the fisherman drinking in. Lots to look at in the pub too. The owners are a beautiful couple who were very friendly and happy to chat to us about old folklore tales and what we’d been up to on our adventures driving round wales. They taught us how to pronounce certain words and seemed happy that we wanted to know how to as well. The beer tasted clean and wasn’t too pricey… two pints for around £8. We only popped in for one but stayed for a couple. We didn’t eat here but a family were eating pizza and it smelled delicious! I will definitely be popping in again if I’m in the area. 👏👌

A great find - good selection of drinks and food - we’ve had soup and it was delicious. Also available some lovely looking pizzas. They even do coffee and cake for £5! Bargain! Really nice atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. This is an ideal place to visit if you love a traditional pub with nautical theme. Or if you just want to sit and watch boats coming in and out of the port. They do have live music some evenings but we only visited in the day times. If you are visiting Holyhead, a visit to this lovely pub is a must. They will be offering rooms soon which will be a great addition.

The pub gives off an Old classic seaside pub, I can imagine the fisherman drinking in there. It’s very clean and has a lovely homely atmosphere. The couple who are running the pub are fantastic. They were so friendly and, us being tourists, they were so happy to help us with pronunciation of things we weren’t sure about. We only popped in for one pint, ended up having two and a quick whisky. The drinks were reasonable priced with a round coming in between £8-9 for two. They told us some local history and folk tales about the surrounding areas. It was also lovely to see when locals started to arrive that they knew their drink orders and the locals all seemed very content. We didn’t have food so I can’t comment on that, however a family ordered pizza and it smelled fantastic! Thankyou so much guys, we will definitely be back again if we are in the area.

Family of 7 came across this place whilst staying at the Travel Lodge before taking the ferry the following morning. The food was fantastic, such scrummy pizzas, garlic bread, soup and panninis. The staff were so friendly, the service was excellent. Definitely recommended

Wet pub.. lovely staff, lovely locals, very cheap.. double gin with mixer and a pint of beer under £11… top of the beer garden was lovely views over the estuary, it’s a shame this isn’t our local Pub.. very dog friendly.. took our two greyhounds, lots of treats and fuss..locals also brought their dogs in. We weren’t local community we were staying in air b&b in the area but locals and staff chatted to us none the less! Lovely little pub and would return again… thank you everyone involved

Great pub, friendly, welcoming and it doesn't take much to make the place feel lively. Only thing missing is a juke box 🙂 In the winter there's a loveky log burner warming the pub, I'm summer the back beer garden has absolutely stunning views over the Estuary.

Had great craic there while I was over for a couple of days and the staff and regulars there could not of been any more friendly and welcoming than they were. Thanks for making me feel at home so to speak.

Not only is this pub a great place to go there's always a buzzing atmosphere somewhere where you can have a great laugh, Staff are so friendly. I've known the owners the best part of 14 years and taking on the rose is a great achievement You can always guarantee a great laugh when you go to the rose. From ranges of karaoke entertainment bingo and so on

Made some very good friends after coming back to the rose after a little while away. Karen and the bar staff are excellent and efficient, pool table and darts board are to a great standard, Come and show your support for the rose in❤️

We decided to try out The Rose as it is our local and recently changed hands. The Landlady and Landord were so welcoming, very approachable and friendly. We had planned on eating, one in the group is vegan, we also had a four year old with us. They catered for all our needs, the food was typical.pub grub, we all decided on a burger and chips with fish for the child. Our visit to the Rose was great and we are looking forward to going back again next time.
