The atmosphere was amazing - we dropped in and were excited to see a tango event unfold in the middle of the place. The music, the lights and people dancing really made it romantic. Also a super sweet waitress!
Our server on Friday, the 20th in the evening was so nice. We had a wonderful time. Just be warned, minimum 10€ if you want to pay by card.

We were group of 12, and made a reservation, but by the time we got there, they told half of us we weren't allowed in as it is full. The excuse was, there were another 12 people group before us. They got the reservation wrong and made us wait withou any solution. So we had to tell them what we will do by separating into two group.
The service was slow. We were there for the view, but due to the condensation of the glasses on the balcony, we couldn't even see the view.

This is the only rating I can give here. We tried to come three separate times to be told they were full. Then we watched 5 people leave the bar and attempted to enter again only to be told they wouldn’t be allowing anyone else the rest of the night to enter. Clearly not full since people just left. We stayed at the hotel and just wanted a drink in our hotel bar. The “bouncer” was rude and inconsiderate. Never. Never. Never would recommend this place. Ever.

Kieler Brauerei am Alten Markt offers a rustic setting and a variety of culinary delights for the palate and senses. Visitors can savor German specialties in the brewery's cozy spaces and even pour their own beer at the table, immersing themselves in brewery culture while being surprised by the diverse beer selection. The brewery revives the tradition of small breweries and pubs that once thrived in the bustling harbor town, brewing craft beer since 1988.
It wasn't much to look at from the outside, but they had Bratwurst with sauerkraut on the menu, and I was keen to try that, so we went inside—and oh my, what a place!
They serve tasty classic food (I obviously had the Bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, and my wife had a Schnitzel Wiener Art). Both dishes were well-prepared and tasted great.
For drinks, they offered a beer sample menu (3x20cl at €8.90) allowing us to try one of each of the locally crafted beers, which was a big plus. It was also possible to buy the cute little beer mugs as merchandise.
The place had a fantastic atmosphere, styled like a medieval tavern, complete with super nice staff and great service!

Had the beef liver steak and it was great. Way better than beef liver I have had in other countries and/or restaurants. The bratwurst was really good but the sauerkraut was the highlight. The house beers were very good and the black beer was outstanding.
Traditional German food and locally made beer. The kieler beer was smooth and malty. The fries were outstanding. The meats were decent but nothing to shout about.
Beer was great but the food wasn’t up to scratch at all. Lacked flavour completely, and the amount of onion on the side was a bit ridiculous, such a waste.
This place has so much potential, but the menu definitely has to be improved before I’d consider coming back here.

We tried to visit Kieler Brauerei yesterday to enjoy a beer with friends while having our babies with us in strollers. Unfortunately, we were met with a very unpleasant experience. The waiter was extremely rude and told us that we could come in, but the strollers were not allowed – and he said it in a very disrespectful and harsh manner.
The place was almost empty, so there was clearly enough space, and there was absolutely no reason for such an attitude. We left feeling very unwelcome.
Definitely not a place I would recommend – if you're a family or simply expect to be treated with basic respect, look elsewhere. Shameful behavior.

Situated on deck 4 of the quayside, Längengrad allows guests to overlook Kiel's ferry harbor. The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner, and on Saturdays for dinner only.
Awesome view of the rooftop restaurant on to the harbour. The view is only topped off by the quality of the food and staff. The staff is very attentive and professional, accommodating all the requests with a smile. The food was beautifully cooked, very tasty and well presented. The portions are very well sized. The menu is varied and can cater for all tastes and preferences. Highly recommended. The prices are a bit high but the food and service are well worth it.

I am still dreaming about my Quinoa Mango Bowl from Seebar, it was honestly one of the freshest, most flavourful dishes I’ve had in a long time. The combination of fluffy quinoa, sweet juicy mango, crisp greens, and perfectly balanced toppings was an explosion of textures and flavours that felt both indulgent and nourishing at the same time. It’s one of those meals where every bite just gets better and better.
The environment at Seebar is equally as special. The atmosphere is bright, relaxed, and welcoming, with a kind of effortless charm that instantly makes you feel at ease. It’s the perfect mix of cozy and lively, you could come here with friends for a long chat, bring your family for a relaxed meal, or simply sit solo with good food and soak in the vibe.
Service was another highlight. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm, the kind of people who make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time there. Nothing felt rushed or transactional; instead, it felt like they cared about creating a great dining experience for everyone.
Both my cousin and I ordered the Quinoa Mango Bowl, and we were not disappointed. Nina added goat’s cheese to hers, which was such a game-changer, creamy, tangy, and the perfect complement to the sweetness of the mango. Safe to say, I’ll definitely be copying her order next time!
And speaking of next time, I have to admit… the last slide is me happily polishing off Nina’s leftovers for lunch the next day 😋. That’s how good it was, I couldn’t let a single bite go to waste.
Seebar, you will See me again very soon, and next time I’ll be bringing my whole family, because food this good deserves to be shared.

If you plan to eat here, please book in advance! A VERY popular spot on a nice day and everyone in Kiel seems to know to book ahead. All reservations will be put ahead of you, even if you are waiting at the door and see tables free. We waited for quite some time before being seated and were only seated after checking in with pretty rude, nonchalant staff at least 3 times. We nearly walked away. But once seated, staff were generally attentive and friendly. Drinks were served quickly. Meals were slow - but they were also very busy. So don't eat here if you are under time pressure. Perfect place to sit 'ON' the ocean, enjoy the sunshine, view and a nice meal and a few drinks with friends. A better system is needed for people without reservations, who are willing to wait at your door for a table.
Good food, a wide variety of drinks. I had the fish fillet with potatoes and bacon with a nice side of aioli. The truffle burger was good too. We had a nice cold swim in the sea after our meal, which cost €3.50 each.

You have to be very patient to eat here. It took an hour from ordering until the food arrived. The food was mediocre at best. Great surroundings though. I got my pizza and cocktail probably within 6 minutes or so from my order. Pizza was very tasty with plenty of ingredients, the dough was very soft. Couldn't recommend enough, especially if you haven't tried Mexican cuisine before!

Why did I go here?
I guess I was looking forward to some healthy vegan food, which would make me happy and not just fill my belly. The restaurant was open but the kitchen was not open until half an hour later.
The food was extremely heavy and fatty and I had problems with my stomach more than a day after eating. The fries were so greasy I had to throw half in the garbage. This is how the food looks like in reality without editing the images. Grey and dead.
We were looking for a nice vegetarian option and this place has amazing vegetarian or vegan mexican food. All at the table were super happy and enjoyed the food. Great option for those looking to get healthy veggie food!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited so far. Their decoration is impressive and will catch anyone’s attention at first glance. The premises were a bit messy and a cleaning of floors, corners, furnitures would be good, the stairs to the toilets were really dirty, greasy and dirt in corners. The bardisk looked nice so I assume, that where food is prepared has been prioritised.
The host (female) was unfriendly, we, and I noticed other guests felt not welcomed. She had the restaurants laptop on the bar facing outwards and when a guest needed to pass the guest was "in the way". Small tip, move it to a location where you do not clash with the guests for a more friendly atmosphere.
Also at arrival she seemed annoyed whereever we placed ourselfs at entrance. Change your processes to ensure the guest feel welcome, move stuff you need away from the very few squaremeters in the entrance to ensure you are not pushing guests around.
The service at the table was friendly but our coffee was forgotten twice, it took 30 minutes for coffee to arrive. Pay attention to the table, the restaurant was not busy and staff was performing other tasks or talking, it feels bad to have to ask for the coffee twice.
Otherwice, super location, value for money and food is of good quality. I do recommend to visit this restaurant if you are in city.

It's my 3rd visit here in a row. All in all, nearly the best in my life so far! The servers are super friendly and polite. They quickly switched over to fluent English, when they heard I wasn't a German speaker. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes at noon on a Saturday. They easily took care of special needs regarding the meals every time. I'm pretty satisfied.

Mir wurde richtig übel und dann wurde mir angeboten nur 50% zu zahlen. Nach einer kleinen Diskussion mussten wir nichts fürs Wasser zahlen.
Aber dennoch für mich ein absolutes No-Go! Empfehlen werde ich das Restaurant nicht und ich und meine Familie werden da nicht mehr Essen gehen!
