The chicken shrimp balls were 4.5/5! But since it was fried, mayonnaise or other thicker sauce will suit it better than a sweet soy-based sauce. The Spicy Dandan Noodle 4/5! It was good, a little too salty but still delicious. The price is relatively cheap!

Been to their restaurant in Stockholm and this one in Visby. Both are great restaurants but I think some of the courses were better in Stockholm. Highly recommend the Tofu and Shrimp balls. Worth a visit for sure.

Returned after experiencing this place in 2024 as a culinary highlight of the season. Was amazed by double fried tofu. Too bad it did not taste quite as great in 2025. Prices went up but food quality didn't. Having said this, the food was still above average and I hope this perceived decline was only a fluctuation. Going to check you out next season!

The food here was very enjoyable, they had a variety of dishes which were to be shared. I must say they were all really good, they also had a nice selection of interesting cocktails that complimented the food. They were also spot on with the children’s meals, with quick and attentive service. Definitely a place anyone should eat at while you are in Visby.

Surfers was a suggestion on Happy Cow when my wife and I were visiting Visby for about 10 days. Decent vegan food was hard to find as everything is so meat and dairy oriented. We found a few places for food but needed protein other than the obligatory burger and hummus so Surfers was a destination for tofu. (We did buy smoked tofu at a grocery store to go with the breakfast buffet at your hotel as 80% of what they served was meat, cheese, and items made with dairy) Our first visit was good with a server guiding us through the menu and suggesting how many dishes to order. Of note are the number of dishes that are very spicy by default which we found other places. What's the use if you're mouth is numb (as a server told us at another restaurant describing one of their dishes said would happen from the first bite) and can't properly enjoy the food? We found the food to be fresh with some originality especially with the use of mushrooms and sauces. A standout was the crispy tofu in a caramelized soy-ginger sauce. We ordered this on our second visit but it came out too crispy which was a bit of a disappointment. We ordered the edamame on our second visit but noticed a certain pepper was listed and our server again told us it's very spicy so we ordered it without and it was very good as the edamame had a nice char which imparted a unique flavor. We were in Visby during Medieval week where places were very busy and Surfers was no exception. We were told that without a reservation, the best chance for a table was to show up right at 5 when they open with limited outside seating. We were fortunate to get a 2-top inside at the bar area and able to make an early reservation for our last night. Surfers is a must if you enjoy Asian style food and a vegan in search of tofu.

Very overrated. My boyfriend and I generally like Asian food and love small sharing dishes, but we didn't like anything about this restaurant. We were hoping to try lots of different flavors in this meal but it just felt like the chef forgot to add any flavor at all. The food was bland and just lacking anything interesting. The waitress seemed to agree we had a good mix of dishes but it felt like most of it was just shredded/julienned vegetables with lots of vinegar on... It felt like they wanted the food to be a surprise as the menu wasn't descriptive at all, a lot of "sides" and ingredients on the plates were not mentioned. Probably the worst meal we had during our 2 week holiday.

I was a bit worried after reading the reviews, but we had a great experience at this place. Amazing food (we ordered the Tuna and Roe starters, along with the ox fillet and Lamb which were incredible) and the waiting staff did an excellent job.

(Systemet) Very neat place, when eating here you should definitely order 2-4 dishes since they are very small portions, this is recommended by the staff. The carpaccio was my favourite of the night but I would also recommend the dumplings! Simply delightful. The only course I wasn't really satisfied with was the asparagus soup, it was simply oversalted.

Bizarre experience. Food was good but waited far too long. Our main took 45 mins after we ordered and there was no apology. The table next to us ordered same dishes and it took 10. I understand kitchens can get backed up but this needed an apology. Then the cook came out to say the dessert was messed up in the oven, but once again we waited. Aside from the wait the server was unfriendly in general.

Very cozy atmosphere and the waiters were incredibly kind. However, for this price I would expect better food. The portions are small and it seemed like each dish had some issue. I know taste is individual but our whole table agreed that the waffle tasted burnt, chicken paste was very salty, the bread for hummus was too hard to eat (and I would argue too little bread for the amount of hummus), the hummus tasted a lot of garlic, and the tartar didn’t have much texture so it felt quite mushy. Looking at previous reviews it seems like other people also received half burnt waffles. Lastly, there was not a single warm dish to choose from, everything was prepared cold. I had high expectations and everyone was so kind in the restaurant so it’s a little regretful to write this review but the food was just not quite up to the standard. I can recommend it for the atmosphere and if you just want something to drink but I can not recommend it for the food.

Food was really good! Most dishes are innovative and modern, yet whenever you taste them the flavors are simple and just delicious. Loved the vibe at this place. For starters the popcorn with gruyere and browned butter was something else! Recommend the coffee roasted root beets!! Sounds scary but it was impressively tasty. Also the burrata and the potatoes were super good. The cocktails were also super cute! This place is pretty expensive for what you get, however they use locally produced products and is aware of sustainability in their cooking. Also the atmosphere and service is awesome! Worth a visit if you’re celebrating something special and willing to pay a little more for the experience!

I wouldn’t recommend this as a dinner place, since the food was a disappointment. The dishes were passable at best, but there were a couple of ones that were most memorable, but not in a good way. Especially the Krølle Bølle left us dissatisfied as a dessert. The dish consisted of a waffle, fake whipped “cream” that tasted super artificial, jam that just felt like soggy defrosted strawberries, ice cream and to top those off a shop bought cream puff that was just as bad as they usually are. Other dishes weren’t as bad, but still not worth the price. For example the beetroot dish lacked freshness, tiramisu was a bit dry and potatoes over cooked to our liking. Considering the expensive price, I would have expected a lot better! Despite all of that, I must admit that the building and interior were beautiful! The atmosphere was cozy, but a still playful. The service was also pretty good. The bathroom was also a fun surprise! It had really fun jungle vibed wall paintings that featured all kinds of animals. In addition to the positive things, I enjoyed the cocktail I ordered and the other ones seemed delicious as well! So, even though the food was not good, I would maybe come back for cocktails. The whimsy interior is worth seeing!

The vibes were great and the service was amazing! The only reason I’m knocking down a star is because of the prices. They’re insanely high! I didn’t know it was tapas style until we were already seated and looked closer at the menu. Each main dish was like $20, and they strongly encouraged each person get 2. There were three of us, we only got one dish each and a drink, and the total bill was over 2100 SEK ($210). I felt horrible for bringing my parents here as I didn’t realize how expensive it truly was going to be.

We really enjoyed sharing small plates such as the pickles & cheese, brown butter and cheese popcorn and salami. Very friendly service in a lovely patio with great music and atmosphere.

Our Visby trip felt complete after visiting Vår Fru. A perfect experience; professional staff, amazing food, good wine and a cozy, energetic atmosphere. Can’t wait til our next visit. The venue being filled with interesting history was the cherry on top. A must go.

The food is very delicius and tasty. The staff is very ambitious and nice they speek both english and swedish fluently. The scenery around the restaurant is very nice as you are right in the middle of the city. It is also very pretty furnished. The price-performance ratio is very good.

This is a place with several bars, dance floors and areas. Both inside and outside. Here you can both dance/party and just grab a drink/eat with your friends. They also have a black jack table (6-decks game) with a limit of minimum 50 sek bet and a maximum of 75 sek. You can also bet on over and under 13. Good location on the big square in the center of Visby in a building with parts from the 1150s.

Very racist establishment. Food is clearly pre-made and is just heated upon being served, service is horrible and the workers belittled me when I asked for a napkin telling me "it would be a waste". I caught the manager having a heated argument with one of the workers in the back, how embarrassing. To top it all off, the music and atmosphere was mediocre at best, and I felt like my grandparents could've hosted a better party.

This is the main place in Ljugarn for a fun get together with live music and cosy bar atmosphere. It is funky place with room for children to play with a bunch of toys, cool artsy decorations and blankets for everyone to go around on a chilly afternoon. Come here for potatoes and the atmosphere, nothing else. They specialize in potatoes, which is amazing. The rest of the food is meh. We had burgers and ordered medium rare, this request was not delivered. The overall burger was just decent but nothing else. The staff mostly consist of young and perhaps inexperienced seasonal workers. There were a few confusions with regarding our order but they were resolved with big smiles from the staffers! Nothing special from the selection of wines but they have a huge selection of beer. Live music started from 21:00, great and humorous local band. Enjoy!

Excellent pizzas! Rustic and family friendly. The staff are responsive and do a great job. The Lamm Pizza was great and unique. The local is also really great offering mini-golf, cafes and a fabulous beach.

Lovely place at the seaside, close to the nice beach. There are a couple of different food and desert kiosks, plenty of places to sit outside. Huge place for kids to play with lots of different toys. Vegetarian potato pancakes were a nice experience and the kids burger was very good. Coffee/tea and water is free when ordering food. Though coffee is ordinary, I didn't like it much. Nonetheless the place and all the atmosphere was really cool.

1 hour wait for the food on a Sunday evening 18:00. Pizzas were fine, nothing special. Children’s burgers were horrible frozen patties. You can make better at home. No cutlery on the table. Impossible to flag anyone down for more drinks/ketchup. Seemed understaffed as the waitresses were run off their feet. Expensive for fast food. Not worth the hype.

Bruna Dörren is a true gem on Gotland! Their crispy and golden brown raggmunk, served with classic accompaniments like pork and lingonberry jam, is a real treat for those who enjoy traditional Swedish cuisine. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, perfect for a lunch or dinner after a day at the beach. They also offer grilled sausages with exciting topping combinations. The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded during peak season, but it's worth it for the food! Highly recommended!

I have never set a bad opinion because I am so easy to satisfy but this dinner was really my worst in life. The worst place in my visit to Visby: 1. The waitress told us she didn't have place where we saw the place had few people, she told us to return in 20 minutes and was the same amount of people and finally gave us table. 2. The place was super cold, with horrible statues in the centra fountain. 3. All waitress dressed almost informal. 4. The menu super limited. 5. The prices high. 6. The food cold and low quality. My chicken super empty plate, then I had to order a salad which also had very few simple elements, and both super expensive. 7. I ordered bread to compensate the lacking of food and the bread was box-bread industrial flavors...

A lovely breakfast place. You can have a small breakfast or more of a brunch. Coffees were delicious, scrambled eggs on point and Grandma's yogurt bowl was perfectly fresh and delicious. Real care was given to the presentation of everything. The team of young people working there were polite, friendly and efficient. The place is cosy and attractive. I would highly recommend it!

Super friendly staff and tasty food. We stopped here after arriving on Gotland for some well deserved lunch. The soup of the day is a great deal, but don’t forget the locally brewed beer if you get the chance.

Hotel St Clemens made a reservation for us at G:A Masters, and I am glad they did. The food and service were incredible. Would recommend this restaurant without hesitation!

Gamla Masters is one of those restaurants you find yourself wanting to return to. The menu is small, in the best possible way. Every dish feels thoughtful and well-executed, with high-quality ingredients taking center stage without unnecessary fuss. I had the carpaccio to start, thinly sliced, perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of acidity but I added some salt. For the main course, I went with the tenderloin with pepper sauce, swapping out the fries for a fresh salad, which worked beautifully. Everything was spot on, meat perfectly cooked. The wine list isn’t huge but it’s well-curated, with some excellent options. I chose a Bordeaux which went really well with the meat. The atmosphere is cozy yet relaxed, with a personal touch that makes you feel genuinely welcome. Gamla Masters is a charming, reliable and timeless favorite in Visby, perfect for both a casual dinner and a more special night out.

Very happy with our decision to eat here. The lamb was not gamey at all, tender & delicious (save a piece of the complimentary bread for the sauce) and the red sole was flavorful & flaky. We enjoyed the chocolate dessert as well as the rhubarb panna cotta. Classy atmosphere & romantic. All the main courses were gluten free too!!!

We'd joint dinner with our customer in G:a Master, Visby. Food was just delicious - pepper steak goes to Top 3 ever so far in my personal list. My unreserved recommendation for this place!

Cramped space, questionable service practices, and expensive prices hamper otherwise good food. I came alone and they seated me at the bar instead of giving me a table. There isn't enough space in the restaurant for staff or guests to comfortably move around without nearly running into each other. The bathroom was no exception. After being seated and ordering a full meal, the bartender asked me three times about getting a drink. Even after I got one, they never gave me water, so I had to ask for it. They got indignant when I asked for a refill, seemingly as if they just wanted me to leave right after eating. When I got the cheque, I paid in cash but didn't receive my change back. Not going back.

A really nice place with nice ambience and awesome food. I ordered shepherds pie and goat cheese with walnut salad. And both the dishes were delicious. There is a lot of seating’s (even a underground place with cozy ambiance). Overall really impressive place with delicious food and wide options for drinks too.

It's modelled after an English pub, but doesn't have a roast dinner on the menu. Coming from England myself I found that disappointing. Great restaurant, but would love to see more foods that are staples of British pubs, Full roast dinners, sticky toffee pudding, ect.

From reading previous reviews I didn’t expect much but what a surprise. The Guinness in my eyes was poured perfectly. They do a two part pour and let it settle just long enough. After talking to the barman he managed to perfect the domage on the pint. The schtick was good too. Deffo recommended for someone searching for a creamy pint In Gotland.

Ah, a place living up to its rating. A stone throw away from the "main" tourist street lies this British style pub. Delicious food, very considerate personnel, "normal" draft beers (not only Wisby this and that which you see at other places) - highly recommended.

Bad service, bad food, bad feedback from manager. We've had a problem with waiter, guy was absolutely inattentive and did not do anything. We had dishes on the table but no forks and napkins. We were asking 4 times for napkins and got "no stress , no stress" from the waiter. And no napkins!!we've been waiting half of the lunch for the napkins! He just nodded his head and walked past! My man tried to talk to manager and the one thing that he got is "we have a hard day". Not "Oh, I am sorry....blablabla". No, it was hard day that they presented to us. No sorry, guys... This manager is not on the right place and she did her job absolutely awful. I also noticed that everything was damaged when we were start talking to each other on our language so I assume Ukrainians are not wellcome in this place. Awful evening. They just totally destroyed our mood and time. Waisted money 100%.

Do yourself a favor and go to Eden and order the lamb. It was the best lamb I've ever had! The quesedillas were amazing too. Nice personell and they set expectations from the start, saying that the tapas meals were quite large, and that we would be waiting for food for a while. Great stuff, we might have ordered more food than we could eat otherwise. The drinks were great too, they have a lot of special drinks themed around Gotland. Tried the Rauk and it was delicious! Definitely coming back here next time I'm in Visby.

Backyard has its own vibe. Aimed towards the hip and daring lifelovers, it will surprise you with an unexpectedly delicious fusion of flavors. I used to go here a lot as a student! Joda has a great selection of dishes and there should be something for everyone. Located right next to Visby harbor, you can sit outside, inside or in the inner garden. During summer it's a bit more expensive than normal, but for students you get some great food for an ok student price. My favorite dish is their chicken skewers. I tried them again this time around and their fries have upped considerably in quality, they were really good! Overall great for lunch!

The fisksoppa is so good! 4.5/5 The bread fits the soup very well. The broth is rich and creamy yet light! I like that it uses gnocchi instead of potato like regular fish soup. The are 2 fish inside, a salmon and a white fish (I assumed it was trout?). The price is affordable. The local apple juice is also good 4/5 A nice finish to the soup. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is small, I guess during peak hours it must be hard to find a seat. They also sell meat, fishes, seafood, and other local products.

This place deserves 6 stars... Amazing beers and selection which can be expected from a brewery, but what sets it apart is that the food is amazing too! Worth every detour when on Gotland. Watch there opening hours, there is a kind of summery season opening! The sparibs are carefully prepared and well presented. The ribs are full of tasty flesh and are well marinated and in 3 hours brought to a falling of the bone perfection. Staff is very kind and informative too. So in every way worth a visit! And there are their own beers aswell. As a beer sommelier I can recommend there brews.

Best meal we had in Visby and no wait for a group of 4 during Medieval Week - phew! Delicious BBQ. The pork chop lollipops and the baby back ribs were our group’s top picks. Don’t skip dessert and get the bread pudding. It arrives to the table fresh and hot with a crispy, caramelized top and well spiced, verging on savoury. Being a tourist and Dutch is a hurdle...since English menu's are rare...but this restaurant has it. Lovely wine-tasting experience! We went here for my friend's bachelorette party and got a wonderul personalized wine-tasting. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We learned so much about the history of wine, the different wine regions and grapes in a relaxed, friendly environment. The bar itself is in a gorgeous historical building. I strongly recommend everyone to try this place when in Visby!

Me and my partner stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant as it was already late in Visby and the options we found on Google were not tempting at all. However, this resto and winebar caught us in with their menu of the day and a great variety of wines with very knowledgable staff. The food was delicious and I also had an Aperol Spritz that was spot on. Besides, we encountered the owner with whom we've been chatting endlessly. Very friendly and nice woman. Highly recommended.

Good Ambience and very close to the centrum. Had visited this place to grab breakfast. Had the saffron pancakes and saffron cappuccino. While the cappuccino was average, I really really enjoyed the pancakes. The jam and fresh cream along with it made it so delicious. We had also ordered mini bisques, which were okay. Nothing special. But I would definitely recommend the pancakes for sure. P.s : The place was little overpriced for my budget.

Having been to the UK and GB many times, I can still with ease proclaim this place one of the top 2 fish n chips spots Ive ever visited. The fish was cooked to perfection, tartar sauce hit all the right spots and the chips were just as good! Had I eaten this at home, I'd have proceeded to lick the plate. The steak sandwich also did Not disappoint! Again, meat cooked to perfection (especially if you like things medium rare as any meat eater with some self respect does) ontop of a piece of sourdough bread, smeared with a tangy tarragony bearnais sauce. Do not miss out! Great selection of craft beers where there is an option to order a tasting of 4 kinds at a very reasonable price. Great service, very friendly and knowledgeable waiter who will help you pair your dish with the beers on hand. We had to wait a few minutes to get seated (5-6 maybe?). With that said, after having been here knowing what I know now, I'd have waited hours. 10 out of 10, would feel lucky to eat here again!

This is an amazing place with great beer and great food. There is a beer flight which was explained to us in English but could have been explained in German too. The food menu has smaller bits and larger main course, we had 4 smaller bits between 2 people was which perfect as we were hungry. The prices are very good, the atmosphere is excellent. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting. (Drinks other than beer available)

You’ll be warmly welcomed at Kasai with a friendly smiling host. In fact, all the staff here are extremely helpful and welcoming. We’ve been here on a few occasions and I’d say the meal was best this time. Not sure why that is, we’ve always found the dishes well prepared and flavorful. But this time somehow more so. The spicy tuna roll, chicken and pork Bao were our favorites this visit. The roof terrace is delightful, unfortunately this time it was a bit too chilly. But the dining room has a good vibe and minimalist decor. If you’re looking for Japanese/Asian fusion in Gotland, Kasai is your best option, IMHO. Advise reservations as, particularly in the summer, it can be very busy.

Kasai, run by Carina and Charlotte Österholm who have a heart for Japanese food, has succeeded with a welcoming modern environment that offers a culinary exciting and innovative version of an otherwise quite traditional Japanese cuisine. I do recommend their Omakase to get a good sense of what the kitchen has to offer. You can not help but feel surprised, satisfied, and well treated. A good recipe to get us as customers to return. And yes I will return. Next time maybe in the spring, on their terrace with something cooling in my hand. Hope you do the same.

My friend, who is dark-skinned, was unfairly blocked from entering the bar, accused of being "too drunk," when in fact, he was completely sober. It was clear as day he was in better shape than some of us who were let in without any issue. I was much more intoxicated, yet somehow, he was the one turned away. The way he was treated was utterly disrespectful and reeked of discrimination, he even waited nearly 3 hours just to be let in. Despite being polite and calm, he was still refused entry. This was an embarrassing and infuriating experience. Shameful behavior from the staff. It feels like racism played a part here, and it's absolutely unacceptable.

Visited 21/8/2021 The place is astounding, best location on Gotland but the food does not live up to it. The staff told us that they were under staffed and therefore it took long time to even get noticed by the staff. The food was below average, the fish came with 2 1/2 potatoes and the veggie burger tasted good but lacked that extra. Overall, fantastic place but subpar food. I do understand it being reasonably newly opened and I will visit it again due to the location and venue.

Fine Dining experience amidst beautiful shoreline and a great view of the rauks! We enjoyed our fika here. There is an activity area close but and a short trek on the shore.

At the end of the road there is a place. And in this place there is magic. There is hospitality, a beautiful setting, excellent service and food worth the trip. Thank for hosting me on this solo adventure, and looking after me so kindly and suggesting the wonderful fish.

Absolutely lovely place. The place itself is stunning - stylishly decorated and the huge windows face the sea and the sunset. It was quite a fun experience to have dinner inside, and everybody was wearing sunglasses! The food was lovely. We share the prawns for starters and they were perfectly smocked. If the entrecote was good, the marinated lamb was on another level. Everything on that plate was delicious and perfectly cooked. Desserts were also great, especially with the sun nearly setting! The staff was friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong going there.

We ate here in the afternoon during the week. There was a table free for us straight away. The service was very courteous and nice. The wait for the food was very short. The schnitzel with potatoes and the herring were delicious. The restaurant is highly recommended!

Very good drinks. The food is more varied, some is really good (the pimientos de padron were excellent), other okay. One negative thing was that some of the side dishes were adjusted to be enough for everyone, but the servers didn't inform us of this. For example: We thought that we ordered one but got 2.5. Nice sportsbar just by the East Gate (Österport). Mostly burgers and pizza on the menu, decent beer list and reasonable pricing. TV-Screens available (could be more) with couches in some places. Shuffleboard, dart and pool tables available for rent. All in all a really good place!

Bad attension and horrible treatment to costumers. I have to said that the food was good but as we were eating the waitress sited people next to us in the empty saloon (with out take care of the corona restriction) and the cople that sat next to us had 2 dogs which throw up sitting on the sofa while we were eating. I have a dog allergy so it was super disappointing and disgusting hear a dog frowing out when I was eating dinner. The waitress should have ask us before, espacially since the resturant was basically empty and they let dogs sit on the sofa indoor.

Nice Swedish cuisine all you can eat. Usually pizza buffet every Friday as well. Apart from that there is also an a la carte menu available. Coffee included in lunches.

From my favorites: •Southern Bulldog, an IPA beer with se sweet tones to it, both really flavorful and fresh at the same time. •Eko bulldog a little bitter taste to this pale ale, with also a lot of fruity and citrus flavor to it. •Wisby Lager, a delicious Lager with a very delicious balance is flavor profile with very nice berries tones to it.

A restaurant with great food and a really nice view over Visby, Gotland. Tried a bit of almost everything with some cava sangria, satisfied with all of it especially the club sandwich.

We were very pleased to find that the legendary Baren Baren in Uppsala has resurrected at Adelsgatan in Visby. However, now downsized to Baren only 😊. Thank you Putte and Zmajko! This is a perfect place to relax with a drink and meet locals. Tasty food is of course also available.

Went in for a Pepsi just after we had a swim in the sea as I was thirsty. The place was pretty empty but despite this service was slow. I could imagine this place could be allot of fun with lots of people around, but unfortunately I got a very portentous vibe with bar tenders who seem to take their jobs a little too seriously.
